SO many ads, so little game. The game is unplayable. They need to balance how many ads are needed to play because it feels like the vast majority of the time playing the game is watching ads. I really don’t mind watching ads for a free game but it was over the top. I also hate that you need rare resources to complete objectives. It is hard to get the resources and the game forces you to waste them to get further in events. I like a lot of the other games this developer puts out but i really hated this game, it felt like a money grab for ad revenue without caring about the experience of the users that are playing.

Kind of unbalanced. The progression on this game is so weird and slow.

Maybe it’s too new. The game progress is stuck and can’t click anywhere. The game is running behind the greyed out screen and can’t click anywhere else.

Could be fun, but too greedy!. The balance in this game is good. Unlike similar games, you won’t end up with managers that aren’t high enough level to automate things (at least, not as far as I’ve got so far). HOWEVER, the greed around ads is insane. You can remove ads for $5 PER WEEK. That’s just stupid. Especially when you consider that watching an ad after clicking a blimp only gives you 60 SECONDS worth of earnings, and that’s after watching a “short video” of 30-45 seconds. No thanks! I NEVER watch those ads. They’re just not worth it. It should 30 minutes of earnings for watching the ad. Or least 10-15. Not 1. There are also a ton of bugs. Be prepared to force quit and relaunch the game often to get it working again. Timers stop working, people stay on the boat while buildings sit empty, waiting for customers, after watching an ad you‘ll get an error saying you need to try again (90 seconds of ad watching for 60 seconds of rewards? Hahahahah, no).

The game softlocks me. The game softlocks me whenever I open it again, it won’t let me play. If I open the game, it forces me to the season thing, and I can’t do anything to get out of it. If you guys know how to help me, I would appreciate it, because I just wanna play the game.

Game breaking bug. Like previous reviews. I am also stuck on the season 5 bug. Mail has been sent to app support, waiting on response. This is a game breaking bug.

I enjoy the game when it works!. I downloaded the game and played it for a bit. I got to the fifth rank and it suddenly stopped responding. I would follow the prompt to open the rank link and it would just freeze and no matter how many times I click the stop it just stays frozen. I’ve tried many things and I have even closed the app. It does the same thing every time I open the app and now I can’t play the game. I even got rid of it and redownloaded the game and it still does it.

Good but needs work. I love hyper hippo games. I’ve played all and still play ages constantly. I was excited for this because idle games are my jam. This game is good. And I know it’s relatively new (especially for iPhones) and I don’t mind waiting for the fine tuning that makes the adventure games great. My input is this. Events are good. But they haven’t added new ones yet or made the current ones up to par. I have nearly all cards. Many leveled up at least to 6 but in certain events I never make it farther than rank 6. The scaling doesn’t work to well. Sometimes I get max rank. Other times I get close. But every once in a while it’s impossible to get past low ranks because of the scaling. I know you guys gotta make your nut with purchases and all that and I don’t fault you for it. I always watch the ads for x2 income and the blimps. Just needs some fine tuning and I know it’ll be great. Lastly some of the missions are not my favorite. Specifically the boosts one. Again. You guys gotta make the money to churn this stuff out. Understandable. But every event always has the “use x amount of boosts” and I’m not a fan. Always using all my gems to do this quest and then once it’s done the same quest comes back. It’s just disheartening sometimes. Love the game. Love you guys. Can’t wait to see what you guys bring in the future.

Fun but disappointed. I love hyper hippo games and have all of them. With this one though, I reached season 9 and cannot access any of the game. Upon launch, it prompts me to click the upper left “9” for the season, it will not allow me to select any other option prior to pressing the “9”, and once I am in the screen I cannot select settings and can’t even close it to resume my game. I enjoyed it while it lasted, I even began the current event available. Hope this can be fixed soon because I’d love to progress!! Thanks hyper hippo for the best idle games on the App Store!

Was fun then not. I like the game. Should not be looking at 6 months RL time to get from level 26-27. I know idlers are dependent on cash perks. Some of the fun is enticing those who would not spend. Also. 6 months without cash? Seriously

Needs work, seems predatory. I love your other games and I have three major issues with progression in vacation tycoon. DISCLAIMER FOR FIRST ISSUE, there was just a update 2 hours prior to this post, so I will be starting over to see if this feels better and will edit this review if so. The first is that it feels like progression was extremely quick until season 10, I completed 1-9 in approximately an hour or two, and then I hit a HARD wall. The end of 10 and 11 so far have taken me two ish days than expected compared to how progression was from 1-9. I know that longer ranks are to be expected as you progress, I’m rank 67 in adventure ages, but the harsh rate of lengthening seems to be much more intense than in previous games. Some rebalancing of ranks 1-9 is what I’d suggest. Number 2 is the amount of cards you get for managers from task completions. I will say right now that I appreciate the difference in number of cards required for promotions compared to ages, ALTHOUGH, cards are not gathered fast enough. I’m running into issues where ranks take drastically longer to complete because the variety of cards gathered is extremely demoralizing. Adding even 1 more card to crates starting at rank 10 would feel much much better. It would make the manager swapping feel a lot better than it does now because investing in managers just for them to be swapped out makes progress worse than it was before, which also seems very anti-progress. My third issue is that the game as a whole feels predatory and very anti-player experience. Ads have always been a choice, and due to that, I chose to watch them when I wanted to and had time. Now, they’re almost mandatory to keep progressing. By this I’m talking about tasks that require 3 ads watched and the 3 ads needed to gain the card from rotation in the shop. ADS FOR A TASK IS NOT STICKING TRUE TO YOUR WHOLE AD PHILOSOPHY AND IS VERY HIPPOCRITICAL(lol). Then again I understand you have a studio to run and ads pay for content and more. I’m more okay with this than the next practice I will mention; tasks requiring you to use 5 boosts are ABSOLUTELY insane, especially in events, which have rewards based on how you place compared to others!!! Obviously people who spend will do better, that’s the nature of an incremental game with micro transactions, I’m not stupid. The issue I have is forcing players to spend 250 gems outright to complete a task. Now this may not be as bad as I think but right now it seems very predatory to me. I have only seen 1 boost in a chest and it was from a free chest. If you are going to require us to use boosts for tasks, give us more by playing the game! So basically as a summary, I would like to see balanced difficulty curve, more cards, and no forced ads or gems spent. I had respect for you guys as developers for not being greedy, but this is tainting that reputation…. Best of luck and I look forward to this being changed. Broken at best.. I have an iPhone 8 and have no issues running any other apps on my phone, except this one. It can take up to 5 minutes to load then will freeze on the loading screen I have to close and re open the app a few times just for it to fully load and to be able to play the game. The game is not balanced especially with events and I’m familiar with the way events are supposed to go I’ve played almost every game from this developer and this one is the only one with severe pay to play mechanics. I’ve been on one season for almost two days waiting hours for money to build up just to upgrade a vendor once. I’ll even have the multiplier active and it doesn’t seem to make a difference. I’ve opened at least 3 dozen chests and I’ve only been able to upgrade a manager once. I’m not buying anything for a game that I feel like purposely puts me at a standstill for days. It’s trash that people care more about profits than a working and playable game. It’s the Blizzard styled company of mobile games.

Not a lot to do.. I want to like this game. I really do. Problem is, it’s hard to. After playing the first day, it quickly becomes a: wait-until-the-next-day game. The challenges in order to advance quickly become impossible, unless you want to use real money, the challenges don’t make sense, and it’s really hard to get cards, upgrade characters, and there really doesn’t seem to be a point to the game. The events are also frustrating. There isn’t clear goals, and the ones that exist are nearly impossible to achieve. Definitely isn’t in the same league as Adventure Capitalist or Adventure Communists.

This game is a cash grab. The games progress is severely slow compared to the other games from this developer and it’s all for money, they want you to pay for all the extras to make any real progress in the game Managers are way too hard to acquire unless you pay and some of the challenges required to progress in events and level require you to use items purchased with gems Huge disappointment and I feel like this game will die off fast no enjoyment whatsoever just a lazy revamp of their old games that is horrible to play

Stupid tutorials. Just let me play.. I wish it didnt have the stupid tutorial. I like to play the way I want to not being forced to uprgade things or buy things That I dont want to do yet.

Needs major work. I usually love hyper hippo games but this game is broken. Good luck making any progress in events. I deleted this within a week and I regret the time wasted with this game

2 star review. I’ve played all of their games and this by far is the worst out of the collection. I’m on season 13 and only have 15/41 cards. Plus, the boxes only give you one card…seems a bit insane to only offer one card per crate but have 41 cards across 16+ seasons. Another problem I have are the events…how on earth do you want me to do 20 seasons in 5 days but only give me 1 card per crate???? That’s just so infeasible! At this point, I’m close to believing this is just another cash grab game. You’re better off sticking with the Age of Space tycoon and Adventure Capitalist in my opinion

A miss from a usually good dev. Game is not fun or engaging. The game just doesn’t have any grab fir attention I forced myself to play to unload co events but even those are dry require constant attention feel unrewarding and overall boring they are also really greedy like you only get one card at a time while needing quite a few to unlock a manager just very meh. Looks like they took similar games and made a less fun/engaging version of them.

Nice game but imstucked/bugged. Im on season 5, and closed the game. I open the game and it forcing me to open the season menu, but nice there nothing works. The setting button does nothing at all, the “X” exit button does nothing at all. Nothing is working . I try closing the game and opening it again and again , it forces me to open the season menu and im stucked / run back where I started with nothing working.

Mixed feelings. A lot of OG games and not just tycoon games are moving to random newer versions. Completely different art styles etc. However this adds more than the older versions and keeps most of the older feel. It’s modernized without completely ruining the original feel.

Events need work.. The events are severely unbalanced and essentially impossible to progress through. They must’ve balanced the events around those who were in countries that could access the game earlier than others and gathered lots of cards to give them an advantage in events. No way for new players to catch up without whaling.

Download. I tried to download the game on and off wifi. It did not work for me. Keeps saying unable to authenticate.

Bugged game. I’d leave less than one star if I could. Ive tried uninstalling, restarting, nothing works. My game is bugged at level 5 and everytime i open the game, it gets stuck on the level screen and i can’t play. I was excited to play this and it was fun while i could, but now i can’t even open the game.

Just a add mining game.. Honestly feels at this point like you guys are just trying to come up with ways to get people to watch more adds. Game is not nearly as good as your others.

Thanks for the balance update. The game isn’t bad as your progress further. With the fix of the balance update, it gets a better score from me :)

Excitement turned bitter. I’ve been a fan of hyper hippo since ad cap came out on steam, and its one of the few game publishers I actually look forward to new releases from since they actually try to do new and interesting things with their games without pressuring you to pay. Or rather they used to. When I first opened the game I was delighted by the new format, the new features and especially the disability rep. But then I started hitting ad walls something that I simply do not expect from hh. Then when I went to look for the remove ads option I was horrified to discover it’s a WEEKLY subscription fee. Plus they modified events to use the same cards as the base game so how well you can do in events is tied to the base game. Or at least it pretends to as the events also seem to scale with how strong your cards already are so they don’t actually get easier as you improve. I keep find myself wanting to play the game only to close it when I remember that I got stuck on ad watches. Ad watches should always be optional. Simply making it a task goal rather than popping it up in your face doesn’t make it less forced. Overall a real disappointment from a studio I’ve loved for years hopefully they get their act together next game

It’s like the old games, but worse. I know these games aren’t made for free but there needs to be a balance between fun and finding every little way to milk the customers. Instead of unlocking a manager when you get their card, now you have to get multiples of that card to first unlock them. Also, they stop working if you don’t get more cards to upgrade. They might stop working too just as part of the “story.” Surprise! That thing you invested in is just fine now. Find a new one! Instead of getting cards for watching an ad, you get one card for watching three ads. But you can pay to go ad free, buuut you have to pay every week as there’s no permanent option like most every other game. Then there are the random manager abilities. There’s no timer, so they appear at random and as fas as I can tell get you a tiny amount of money. Except, for the conga line, which is the one interesting aspect I saw. Oh yeah, and it doesn’t matter how much you upgrade that boat, because only a few customers disembark at a time. The whole experience feels so slapped together like the team suddenly had a deadline for a new game. Hopefully you’ll get a few people willing to invest in this thing but I’ll stick with your older games.

Freezing. Was a great app until it kept telling me to tap the level icon but just keeps freezing no matter what I try to do. Other people have this issue so why isn’t it being debugged???? Actually fix the problem.

Won’t even load past the title page.. Downloaded it after enjoying their other games but can’t even open this one. Accept the terms and conditions and then it just sits on the loading islands screen.

Good idea of a game, but buggy. I got to season 4. I have done 5/6 goals but it forces me to click the season button at the top and then I can not close it. I can only force close the game. When I reload it I am then forced to click the season button again

Annoying bug!. Loved this game right up until level 11. Where it makes me tap the level icon. And freezes. Despite the usual troubleshooting.

Game is unplayable.. Played for 10 mins then game got stuck on grey screen. Deleted and reinstalled and is still unplayable.

Awesome game until you have to update it.. I took my credit card off a long time ago. Now a new update for the game comes out and it is asking me to put in my payment method.

More than one card. I really hope the regular chests give more cards after a certain point,it is getting really annoying because I need to get more cards to level up managers and even at season 16 it doesn’t seem to scale the amount of cards to the seasons

Does not disappoint. I was thrilled to start playing this game, and by the time I got an ad for it. I GOT IT IMMEDIATELY. And this game is fun, so keep working on it and making it better please! Update: Are the events based off of the AdCap events?

Pay 2 Win to the Max. In all games like this I played. This one is the one which is just forcing you to pay. You’re completely starved with gems to upgrade your managers. They give you 5 per chest and it cost 400 at level. Other games give you 5 per chest and to level to 2 it’s 100 than 200, 400, 800. While this game is 400, 800… Also other game scale the amount of upgrade you get. Events also use the same managers so not everyone start at 0 and have a chance to compete. You might starve with cards but here you starve with both and they promote their whales. Go play Airport Billionair it’s this but better.

Why can’t you hard reset the game. I just logged on to ask why this has changed for the Kongregate games?

Resets progress. Every time I make progress in this game I’ll leave it when I’m done playing only to come back to my progress being reset back to the tutorial. I’ve only made it up to season 11 twice before it resets my progress. NOT WORTH MY TIME.

No where to change language. It can’t change language

Interesting idea but better idle games out there. Wanted to try Hippo new approach to idle and while at first it seems less predatory/gambling than Communist and Ages, it got very slow way too fast and was asking for an unreasonable amount of gems to complete all level missions. A lot of ads pushing too to progress. Uninstalled the next day and spent time on other idle games instead.

Can’t Play. Hi, I downloaded this game when it first came out and started working fine and it stopped. It loads the island and then freezes and I can’t click on anything. The music still plays in the background. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app multiple times and still nothing. Help I want to play this game.

Good not great. Would be great if you didn’t need to click the screen 5 freaking times to collect rewards. Just plain stupid. Was cute watching the box explode the first 3 times after that, just redundant.

Another amazing game by Hyper Hippo. I have been playing this game for the past week and its been the most fun i have had playing a video game in a while. Its clear that they care more about the player’s experience than just being a cheap cash grab. The challenges to level up to the next season are such a fun grind and i recommend this game to anyone who wants a fun challenge. Im currently at Season 12 in the game and i cant wait for the fun coming my way. This game is as addictive and as fun as Adventure Capitalist. Thank you Hyper Hippo

Sound Issues. I don’t actually have problems with the gameplay itself, it’s the suns that’s bugging me. I can’t find a “settings” section to turn this music and sound off. Please help!

Game becomes very slow after moving through the levels. I’m currently on level 26 of the main game and I have not been able to complete a single goal in 4 days. They all require me to upgrade certain stations, but I haven’t made enough cash (in the game) to do so and have been at a standstill for many days. I understand waiting a day or two to save up enough to upgrade a station, but at this point I’m unable to play the game and it’s becoming less fun.

Froze. Downloaded this game today, worked great, then closed out, came back later and now it’s froze, closed out of the game, and restarted the phone same issue, even uninstalled and reinstalled, game loads up back to where my my progress was and continues to be frozen…

Isn’t saving my progress. Whenever I close the game completely no matter how far I got it takes me back to the beginning of season 7

“watch ads”-to-play. First session is cool, but after that, sessions are very short and all you can do is watch ads. And you just repeat the same actions over and over (nothing changes when you switch location) Feel of progression is lacking. My season number change but… and i have no feeling towards my manager cards, i get some, upgrade them, gets assigned automatically, very mechanical
