Bad app. The banner updates still come through, but then I have to google the story from a competitor because the app crashes every time I open it. 7/1/20 - how is this still not fixed?

Review. Little glitchy so far..

Buggy. The old version of this app wasn’t great, but this version is much worse. Crashes every time I launch the live feed, so it is worthless to me.

Doesn’t Work. Crashes when opening or trying to read. Please fix. Seems like a good source for info.

Notifications don’t direct correctly. Half the time, when you open a notification it just opens to the app home screen. Also, it doesn’t seem like the home screen refreshes to the latest stories. Orange County local stories are always just advertisements for things like “7 best convenience stores in Irvine.” Also, app stories just redirect you to the browser. I’m using the app because I don’t want to always open stories on a browser.

The Update Made it worse. This use to be a good app. Last of its kind that doesn’t bombard you with ads. Now they do and it’s worse. They like to give you a 30 sec ad (which most apps do) but the part that Kills me is that the Ad Stalls and you have to reload the story. I wanted to see about a fire in my area and the ad stalled 3 times!! Yes I have WiFi with 200mb down. Should be enough if you ask me. It’s not my connection, more like their app cause more frustration then I need just for 1 story. I will be looking for other news app from here on out. Reloading ads over and over just to see 1 story won’t cut it with me. 😵‍💫

Keeps crashing. This new app keeps crashing on me. Did the tech people of this app tested it before releasing??

Missing something. You guys should really consider putting an option for watching the governors updates or watching live news. For example, when governor Newsom is giving his updates about COVID-19 you guys always tell us to head over to CBSLA to watch the rest, but what if we don’t want to watch the rest, what if we just want to watch the news and not the updates? We are forced to watch the updates, when some of us would much rather watch the stories that are being televised live.

Seems like an Alpha version. The whole app is very sluggish (won’t scroll smoothly). Because of that you have to leave your finger in one place for a while waiting for it to respond so you can scroll. When you do this it thinks you’re tapping on a story and sometimes acts like a click instead of scroll. App can barely be used. I’d be embarrassed to have put this out. The CBS app that preceded it was better but they recommended switching to this one.

Video doesn't match the article. When I click on the icon to view the video that appears above the news article it's for the weather or trailers for the shows airing on CBS.

Unstable until upgrading to iOS 13.5. App kept crashing out about 3 seconds after launching and arriving at Home page on iOS 13.4.1. Crashes have stopped after upgrading to iOS 13.5.

App keeps crashing. Just downloaded app today. Have IOS 13.5.1. It crashes after playing about 30 sec of video. Not worth it.. will keep my ABC7 and KTLA news apps.. they never give me issues.

Old app was better. The old app fit the iPad screen beautifully. The new app does not scale for the iPad...clearly written for iPhone users. Please don’t abandon iPad users or bring back previous app!

Slow, Poor UI. The previous CBSLA app worked much better than this version. It’s slow, often crashes, and lacks an effective use of modern user interfaces. Feel like a major step back from a user perspective.

Crashes in less than 30 sec. Today I was pushed off old app onto new one. The new one is not functional. It crashes within 30 sec every time I open it. I’m on an iPhone SE with 13.5.1.

Horrible. Crashed every time I opened it. At first I thought it was my phone, then I read the reviews.

Terrible. Your first app was wonderful. This app does nothing but crash. It’s horrible.

Keep loading. Annoying to have to keep clicking “load more” just to scroll and look at the news. Delete.

Worst App Ever. This app won’t stay open long enough for you to even read the first paragraph of a news story! The old App wasn’t great by any means. Half the stories were weeks old but this new App is ten times worse. Why even bother, CBS? All this App does is drive readers to your competitors.

Crashes. Like everyone else has been saying. It crashes right away. Why would one change the app all together from one that works to one that doesn’t?

Horrible and unwatchable. Don’t make me leave my CBS family...because I will. All it does is crash. Please fix this now.

This new app takes me back to 1999. Forced portrait mode? Tiny video? This app is awful. The old app was more technologically advanced.

How Come I Can't Watch Any Video On Full Screen On iPad Or iPhone???. Hello there, How come I cannot watch any of your videos on full screen on my iPad 6th Generation nor on my iPhone 13 Pro in the meanwhile I can do that on ABC News Los Angeles and CNN apps??? How come you guys don't take advantage of the iPad big screen advantage and quality as well??? Don't you guys have tech knowledge to do it in 2023 yet??? Only as last resort…. The app need major make over - it features 3 news stories & then you have click for 3 more & never the lasted news, err! Not easy to read, I’m alway feel annoyed when trying to find a news story. Of the 4 local news app, they are not the worst - that honor belongs to KNBC channel 4, so bad I deleted from my device. The one I like best in format & timely news is KABC, channel 7 - although what they consider the top stories, to me, are a bit off.

Doesn’t work on IPhone 7. The app takes a long time to load then shuts down after about 10-15 seconds.

Needs a major upgrade. Every time I try to watch a livestream of news or just try to watch videos in general, the app crashes. I try to access a news headline, the app crashes. I don’t know if it’s my phone, but I don’t have any other problems with any of the apps on my phone except for this one.

Only updated because I kept getting messages to do so.. When I open it up to read an article, IT CRASHES! I was fine with your previous app. It ACTUALLY worked. You should not have pushed your followers to upgrade unless it really was an upgrade. AN UPGRADE WORKS. If this isn’t fixed soon (like yesterday). Then I’ll have to rely on your competitors for my local news information. I’ll have no choice than to delete an app that doesn’t work and just uses up space. I’m beyond disappointed in your product.

Meh.... Not being able to swipe right or left to the next story is kind of clunky and time consuming. I shouldn’t have to go back to the main menu to select the next story.

Makes my phone freeze and crashes. Every time I open the app it crashes and makes my phone freeze. The old app never did that. The only reason I upgraded to this is because it forced me to or I couldn’t use the app. Turns out it didn’t matter because the app doesn’t work properly anyways.

Terrible App. How is it even possible to have such a terrible app for Los Angeles when your running two separate Great channels off of here? For one thing it is beyond annoying not to be able to read and view in Landscape (most people use iPads in Landscape), your videos take Forever to load or simply don’t load (I have no problem loading others), I’m not going on. Kindly get a NEW App designer who will Give LA an App that represents us. Your coverage of LA is SPOT ON, Not the Fluff but Please not White. Much Appreciated Stay Safe & Healthy

Can’t watch landscape full screen. In addition to having to watching an ad before breaking news, watching full screen is impossible unless you rotate to portrait. This is the equivalent of having your cellphone in the wrong position during filming. In addition, when a breaking news notification pops up, clicking the link only opens the app, but you still have to search for it. By the time you find it, breaking news is old news, you’ve missed the boat. 😡

Crash much?. 8/10 times this app crashes before I can read one story. Fix the bugs.

Worse than useless. The old app worked fairly well. I could watch the nightly news, on my iPad, or with airplay on my TV monitor. Rarely had a problem. The new app is completely worthless. It crashes every 8-10 seconds, and doesn’t work long enough to even connect with airplay. Don’t waste your time- it is a completely frustrating experience.

Keeps crashing. Ever since you changed to new app, it keeps crashing.

I had to update but yuck. It only appears as about 2x3 inches on my iPad and doesn’t rotate as do ALL OTHER NEWS APPS I HAVE. This is the worst functioning, most badly designed news app you could possibly imagine. It really should be rated as zero stars.

This new version is terrible. This version app is slow and make my iPhone 11 Pro slow and freezes my iPhone. This app have memory issues.

New app. I can’t read any news on the new app because it constantly crashes. A fix would be nice. You need to do a better job.

Do not download the new app. EXTREMELY glitchy.. So earlier this week my KCAL9 app stopped streaming live and I have to download this new version. This new version keeps crashing, takes extremely long to load, and when I’m using VPN the app will keep crashing. Without the VPN, when it’s the only app running, it will crash, and my phone will crash also, or it will severely slowing down the phone for about a minute. Bottom line, do not download this new version u til they release a fix for it.

New Update is Terrible!. The new update, that we HAD to update to, is terrible! The notifications only take you directly to the app, where you have to search for what you want to view. What’s the point of getting notifications, if it is only going to take you to the app, and not the story that you received the notification for? What a waste of time! Guess it’s time to delete this app and find some other news source.

Performance Issues. Hey there! I love Los Angeles that I want to be kept informed on what’s going on there; This app happens to be the beau ideal. However, it is unfortunate that it automatically crashes after 1 or 2 minutes (making the app unusable). Nevertheless I am optimistic that this minor defect will be corrected immediately ... Unstable. App crashes, miss the old version.

Bring back the old stand alone weather all. CBS LA used to have a stand alone weather app and it was perfection. PERFECTION. It was always accurate with the many microclimates we have here in SoCal. CBS in its infinite stupidity killed that app on 3/31/23. They told us to download this app. I was concerned but I downloaded it. Well, I’m here to tell you this app is GARBAGE for weather. All of the great features the weather app had are gone. I tried. I’m deleting this. It’s like every other lousy weather app now. I’m still on the hunt for a good replacement.

Update of 2/10/2022. Since the last update I now can’t open the app up. Guess I need to dump it.

Flawed app. Needs to be redone- very poor design crashes at startup rendering this app useless.
