Blossom - Plant Care Guide Comments & Reviews 2026
Totally unnecessary app.. This app is a waste of money and it is a very dishonest site. I tried it for $9 and change and it ended charging me over $50. I tried to cancel but apple and this site are affiliated and they did not reimburse me. They literally robbed me. I told them I do NOT want to renew ever again and I hope I don’t have to sue the living lights out of them. During the year, I did have a problem with a plant I loved and since they forced me into being a member, I followed their stupid instructions asking for help to prevent my plant from dying but they were no help whatsoever and my plant died. This app is useless, don’t waste your money. It does not do what it says it will do for your plants. Update: I received a reply to my review, which was just full of excuses and justifications. I have already tried doing all their suggestions the very next day my experience happened but they still stole my money. Going through Apple was also useless as I believe they are associated with Blossom. DO NOT LET THEM ROB YOU! This app/site is completely useless. They are filthy corrupt and will only take your money and more than the amount you authorized them, then, they disappear and will never do a thing for you and/or your plants. You have been warned!! 🌺
Look elsewhere. I had high hopes for this app since the ratings were pretty good but I learned quickly that it’s not. At first glance I liked that this app reminds you when to water/ repot. I’m fairly new at caring for plants so I was interested in having some professional help at my fingertips. I subscribed and sent over the required information for a botanist help, thinking I’d get help fairly quickly, I wasn’t expecting it to be immediately but I also wasn’t expecting it to be almost a week and a half later. Once I finally received the response. I was upset and still left where I had started, confused. The “help” I received was the same vague general information that was on the Internet, no direct guidance as one would assume, no help at all. Three different occasions I had reached out for help and the response was always the same, as if they simply copied and pasted. I stopped using the app, wish I could get a refund
Pretty good!. Decent app with lots of room for improvement. The plant information is super helpful! The watering reminders are excellent- however there is no button for “it just rained” to modify the watering schedule so every time it rains all outdoor plants are no longer accurate to the watering schedule in the app. There should be alerts and notifications when it’s going to rain so outdoor plants can be covered. I love the plant identification feature but it’s not accurate all the time, sometimes random things come up. Diagnosis is too vague like saying it’s a watering problem instead of too much water or not enough water, which would be helpful. Diagnosis is too vague and inaccurate overall. Lots of fantastic plant information on this app but the features aren’t great. Hoping to see some updated features soon though so it functions better!
Would be 5; but some issues. I really like this app and have been using it for a few months now. I like that I can keep all my plants in one place and take photos to track the growth (or lack thereof)…but there are a few little bugs or quirks that I don’t love. First, if you get behind on your watering, and you open the app to hit “complete” when you’ve watered, it doesn’t count the watering date as that day. Instead, you have to hit compete on the day they set the reminder for. I would like to be able to update the watering schedule to the current day, so then my schedule is correct from then on. Also, when I go to the “My Garden” tab and view the list of my plants, it stops my scroll after 10 or so plants. I cannot view the rest of my garden because the app will not let me scroll father. Very annoying, because I like to see if I’m keeping up with what plants are currently in my home. If these two issues were fixed, this would easily be a 5 star app.
Blossom *almost* impressed me.. I’ve been looking for an app to help me care for my plants and learn how to care for plants properly to keep them alive, specifically watering reminders and how to revive dying plants. I’ve tried several apps and I thought I had finally found it in Blossom, but plant people sure do love their pay walls it seems. (This is a problem I’ve noticed across all plant apps, not just Blossom). The free trial for this app is only three days and I haven’t really had the chance to do a deep-dive into what the app has to offer, but my free trial is already over. In my opinion, a free trail for something like plant care isn’t worth anything unless it’s at least a two week trial. That’s not enough time to see if the app can help you form a habit. I’m really disappointed because it seems like this app can offer what I’m looking for, but I don’t get to find out for sure unless I pay.
Love this app!!!. Having acquired a large number and variety of plants, I needed help keeping up with their daily care. Blossom provides most all the information i need on my plants to keep them healthy. It keeps track of when each plant needs watering and I can postpone a watering by a chosen number of days if I feel the soil is too moist. It reminds me when each needs fertilizer too. I’ve even found ways to remind me when to apply systemic insect control and which plants enjoy misting. Several improvements have been made in the 15 months I’ve used the app including a search of my plants. Also, on the list of daily to-do’s it now notates the water amount so I don’t have to actually open that plant to see how much water is needed. I think, especially for new plant parents, this app would be really helpful.
Plant care. This app has very nice calming design. The plant search feature is handy as well but I have a lot of plants and I do find it a little annoying that I will get separate notifications for each plant on the same day...at the same time to water them. It would be nice if it recognized that there are multiple plants to water and send only 1 notification. So I’ll delete some, but while I was tying to do that, there are to many steps to delete a watering schedule, which I found frustrating and almost deleted to app because it seamed easier then hunting for the delete watering schedule. Also, maybe this is just me but I would like there to be some form of Home Screen... or home button. Pretty nice app though but maybe not $20 a year nice
This app is a love hate relationship. I love the app for every function except one. First what I love. The in app reminder list for water, fertilizer and reporting. Love the care calculators and tips. I like some of the articles, but some it’s difficult to figure out if or when it applies to me. They do contain good info so I read them all even if they don’t apply. 😁 The one thing I absolutely hate and it is so bad that I’m looking at other apps to replace Blossom, which is a monumental task due to the app being so good. It’s the notifications. This app causes notification fatigue. It requires far too many. I can’t save new plants or new care plans without turning notifications on. I have all my notification settings turned off in the app and in my phone. It still asks me every time I open the app to turn them on. I’m sure some people like them but I hate them. It’s more than dislike, it’s an absolute hate at the number of notifications the app sent when I had them turned on. 8am was almost like an alarm clock with 30 notifications alerting. Really? Send one for all 30 plants. 🤦♀️ One a day would be perfect or none of you do t want them but the app doesn’t allow either option even though it pretends to.
Every Plant Happy but new version Needs a fix. I’ve recently embarked upon interior gardening with house plants and this app has been instrumental in keeping my thumb green. It allows me to keep track of watering and fertilizer schedule for each plant by sending me reminders -this on top of diagnosing potential problems before they get out of hand. I have at my fingertips a virtual encyclopedia of plant care. And I can now identify those plants and garden flowers that I I use to call “pink-Fuzzies”, “Yello-Thingies”, “ That wild-growing stuff.” The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars - in the recent update I cannot scroll through the custom list “MY GARDEN”. It goes down approximately 10 to 12 plants and pops back up to the top. Needs fixing.
Snooze please. I rarely purchase apps. This was an exception as I have a ton of plants and needed to get them organized. I’ve used this for a month or so now and my biggest frustration is that the suggested watering schedules don’t match my plants. Fine. I create custom schedules. But this can take some time to figure out. It would be SO helpful to have a snooze option and remind you in a couple of days to check again! Or some way to mark if you choose to skip a watering. One question - reminders have times attached. Does anyone really care what time they water? This might be why people mentioned multiple reminders each day. I know I was getting them until I went into each plant and synced it for the same time. Keep up the good work. It must take a crazy lot of time to put an app like this together. I use it every day!
I was so hopeful, but disappointed. I saw the rating and was super excited. I thought it would be a fun tool to use around all my plants. I have a background in horticulture from school, but mainly have used it as a hobby. However, I came across this app and thought, I would love to give it a try. So I got it and signed up. First, I noticed it could not identify a lot of my plants and were giving suggestions that were no where close to my plant or even looked like. Some plants it got accurately but a lot it did not. I have a small plant that is brown on one side, I have my ideas on what is wrong but I thought I would give the app a try. It told me different things from pests/bugs, to over sun and then root rot, root rot was my first guess on the little guy but it was the apps 3rd after pushing bugs/pests a few times which I knew it wasn’t the problem. I did email my pictures of plants it did not have and also submitted pictures to them for my little brown plant and never heard back. Yes, I check my spam daily, oddly enough I clear it out daily so it doesn’t pile up, however never heard back. Sadly I’m out the money for the yearly subscription. I had hopes for this app but maybe in the future, it has a lot of possibilities. Wish I could of gotten a return, $29 is not a small price, least for me.
Limited plants. This is a good app for identifying and keeping track of some plants, but if you have a lot of different varieties, you’ll be disappointed - look for something else. For example, there are many specific varieties in categories such as clematis and ferns, but they all aren’t cared for in the same way. The worst part is that you cannot ADD anything they don’t have! I didn’t find this out until I had quite a few plants already added or I would have abandoned the app. You can send a photo of your plant not in the system, but they don’t add it right away. I also find it cumbersome that you can’t sort the list of your plants by name which means if you have a long list, you might have to scroll down and down and down. I bought he year’s subscription, but I regret it. And I regret that the instructions for setting it up are so confusing that I added my plants on my iPhone, but the way I did it, the way other apps work, I can’t access them on my iPad! It may have been my fault so this is jut a warning that if you want to share the info, be careful how you set it up. Finally, there’s no way to export the data so I can’t to a standard format such as Excel to be able to sort it or input it into other software.
Once great app changed by greed. I genuinely used to enjoy the Blossom app—before it was acquired and aggressively monetized. At one point, Blossom was a fantastic tool for plant identification, watering schedules, and fertilization guidance for both indoor and outdoor plants. As someone without a natural green thumb, this app was incredibly helpful. I even paid for a subscription because the value was absolutely there. Unfortunately, that value has steadily disappeared. Features that were once free and genuinely useful—like how much to water your plants—are now locked behind a paywall. There are also new limitations on things like alerts unless you subscribe. These changes fundamentally undermine what made the app approachable and beginner-friendly in the first place. And then there’s the price hike. Not a few dollars—a significant jump. Enough to make me cancel and start researching alternatives immediately. I’d recommend anyone reading this do the same, because by the time you see this review, the price may have gone up again. I understand that AI tooling and ongoing development cost money. I’m not opposed to paying for quality software. But this no longer feels like an app designed to help people care for their plants—it feels like an app designed to extract as much money as possible. There is still value here. But at the current price point? Absolutely not.
Still needs some updates but really like it so far. I really like how this app is looking so far! I love the reminders and the ability to take cute notes and even photos of my plants. Obviously there is a lot of plants out there so there is still much work to be done in updating the database but there are many common plants available. It would be cool if we could send in plant photos with their common and botanical names to be reviewed for the possibility to be added to the database or to update photos of an already existing one as some of the photos don’t seem to match too well. Especially for the plants that have multiple cultivars. I think it would also be nice if we could move the plant tabs in our “garden” to organize them or put them in outside and inside sections. Dear developers, thank you for your hard work. As I continue to use the app is there a place for me to submit feedback?
Not ready for prime time! And beware of cancellation policy. The database for this app is way too small, and it misidentified several of the plants I experimented with for identification. It could not identify a Valencia Orange nor a Clementine Mandarin, saying the best guess for both was a yuzu tree, or maybe a bitter orange, and lastly, a lemon. It does not have sub species in other cases, only offering a generic name, that doesn’t really identify the plant. I was extremely disappointed. Also, trial users beware! They require that you cancel 24 hours in advance of the end of your trial. If not, you get charged in full, and are not allowed to cancel for a refund. Then they ask for feedback, offering a “gift, “but the gift is a reduced fee of the subscription price… and if you sign up, you won’t get a refund for that, either. I rated it “2” only because I think the concept is good. As for practical utility right now, it really is only worth a “1”.
Water Calculator. Update: I’ve had this app a little over a year and have added over 50+ plants to my collection whereas before i couldn’t even keep an air plant alive. I LOVE this app, however lately there’s been a glitch where when i mark a plant as watered it will uncheck it. Any suggestions to this problem? By far the best new feature i’ve been waiting on this forever 😭 I’m horrible at keeping plants alive and they usually only live about 1-2 months. i just bought my first home and wanted to liven it up w live plants and in March bought a bunch that are surprisingly still alive thanks to this app! They haven’t been doing the greatest these summer months and after using the new water calculator feature im finding out i haven’t been giving the plants enough water, so hopefully now they will be thriving again
Nice-looking app, works well for setting watering and other care reminders. I saw an Instagram ad for this app and I love the interface and design, and I definitely need something to remind me to water my plants. However, the ID by photo feature doesn’t work at all. I take a picture and the app just sits there on the search screen. I know what most of my plants are so it isn’t a huge deal but I have a few that I got unlabeled and the search functionality beyond the photo ID leaves a lot to be desired (it would be great to be able to filter by, say, leaf shape). (EDIT: The developer suggested I update the app, and the photo ID feature is working now, although I would still like an expanded search functionality). I also cannot figure out a way to edit existing notifications. I accidentally set one for 5:30 AM instead of PM and can see no way to change that. There’s no edit button that I can find, and the help page is useless unless you’re looking for info about the plant ID feature or info about the subscription. (EDIT: The developer replied to me with an explanation of how to edit the notifications, so this complaint is moot!) I do, however, really like that I can check off that I watered it, and that I can add photos and notes in the app, and I love how nicely organized and easy to read the info for each plant is.
Did you app recently has a bug? Or version updates wiped OUT all my saved plants pictures?!. Developers, Was there a bug/release updates? I have been using the app since a year ago, loved it but no longer loving it. Support team hasn’t got back to me on why is this happening and I provided them screenshots showing all my plants growth picture taken in the past year is now ALL gone! Few months ago they were still there. Did your app remove all pictures taken within the notes on your last version updates?? I am no longer on paid subscription but this has been since 6m + ago while the app kept all photos there, now all of the sudden everything is gone. I’m relying this app to track my plants growth, if you DO NOT allow people using it as a “free notes taker” after canceling subscription, do let users know via the disclaimer everything stored is likely to be removed! Am I missing anything? How can you help restore my saved pictures in notes?? Thanks!
Great for tips tricks, but the software itself couldn’t identify much. I wanted a quality ID app for foraging and this app continually misidentified plants. Of course I take everything home and do a full study before eating, and the app wasn’t even close. It even struggles in my very large and varied urban herb garden. House plants? Meh. I forgot I was paying for the service after a while and that was frustrating. It will indeed alert you when actually identified plants need water and provides good simple info for zones, watering, propagation, sun requirements. But it rarely finds the plants in the database when you search by both Latin and common names. If you need an alert to water specific plants, just set reminders on your phone for free? It’s nice you can “check it off” that is satisfying on this app, but unfortunately it fell short on most features a forager, or any gardener that isn’t completely green.
Saved our Cactus. I am by no means a plant expert. Hence why I downloaded this app. I have used previous apps to identify plants and species of animals, but this one exceeds my expectations. We have a cactus in our yard, and recently it began to develop weird “white things” all over it. No one in my family knew what it was, however when we saw an advertisement for this app, we figured we would give it a go and see for ourselves. In less than a minute we had everything set up, and was able to snap a picture (or 3) and the app instantly identified that this was in fact a parasite. We never would have thought this. We used the recommended solution the app provided us with, and all the webbing from the parasite was removed and underneath were all these really annoying parasites that laid eggs. Within no time we were able to kill them and save the cactus. Additionally, this app runs very smoothly, and there have been no bugs I found. Would definitely recommend this to anyone at any skill level!
Loving the app - the plants are stayin alive. I read some reviews that said it couldn’t identify a variety of plants, I was able to identify all of my sisters sun room and house plants. I’m a new plant mom since 2020, I knew nothing and couldn’t figure out watering for some of my poor plants, many sacrifices have been made. Determined I bought 8 new plants to try give indoor gardening another try. I love this app!!! Videos on for everything I’ve needed including very basic care, like watering. Details about plant lighting, repotting frequency (didn’t know that was a thing) and how to propagate more plants - I’m stoked! The “my garden” section helps me feel organized, water routine and adding my notes and pics keep this round of plants alive thus far. Ideas to add to the app, sharing your garden with other people to exchange plants and find ideas and sharing the water routine with a plant sitter, bonus if it can update my routines. Option of using stock pic or own pic for the my garden list and it would be fun to add nicknames to your plants… I can’t be the only one who’s named their plants, right?? EDIT: I figured out how to name my plant friends in the app and update their pics!
Price. I used to love this app, the prices were reasonable and good and I had a fair amount of access to the apps features without paying, but I liked the app a lot so I paid for the monthly subscription until last year for some reasons unrelated to the app. But when I came back to renew my subscription and use the app again, I noticed that I basically have to pay for everything!? And the prices! I have to pay to set more than just a few reminders, leaving the rest of the plants without any, can’t identify plants after a certain amount, and other small things that you have to pay for now. The subscription used to be monthly but now it’s weekly! I liked this app, but $5-8 a week is way to much for this, or any app and not worth it at all when reminder apps and Google exists. I have no choice but to use a different app or another alternative to be able to manage the many plants I have.
It needs work. I really like the layout if the app, especially the reminders. This is the MAIN reason i love this app is the way the reminders are laid out by date, however, the app needs a lot of work. Plant database is REALLY lacking, and for having a paid subscription, this is a disappointing. Someone mentioned to be able to add your own plants! This is a great idea especially because the database is lacking. It would take me no time to create my own plant profile off the internet and copy paste relevant info. Maybe even lead this into people submitting their plant profiles and this would help alleviate the process of databasing all the plants. Someone also mentioned seeing the pictures of YOUR plants in the garden/calendar, not the stock photo, i agree with this! I have a lot of the same plants but with different water needs due to size/location. I need to be able to see who is who. Id also love to see a plant search, under garden , as i have a ton of plants and scrolling through is a bit of a hassle, as well as sorting your plants alphabetically would be nice. Since on the topic of plant search, i found it incredibly frustrating that when I went to search for a plant, that snap had already suggested, it wouldn’t show up in manual search?! What’s that about?? Id really love to give the app more stars. I chose this app because of its layout, simplicity, and great reminders section, but the fact that a plant app, has such a lacking database is really a put off. I use another app in conjunction with this one just to be able to get accurate plant data...
Wonderful for a watering amount and schedule.. Update: Been using this app for a year, now have lost all my data and will not be restoring with this app. Cancelled my subscription but with only AI support there is no way to get a refund. The first reason for the low score was also one too many cliches I have encountered. To many times the health determination is ‘over water or under watered’ I already know that, but for the app to not determine which is useless. Also too many ‘opposie we have encountered a problem’ Wonderful for a watering schedule because I have a small jungle in my apartment. There are also cliches with the fertilizer scheduled such as I state 1 month and it gives me an insane status of 165 days???? Now to top this off after I subscribed a year ago, instead of rolling over to the same amount they want to ‘roll’ it over at twice the amount. I have probably a hundred plants and will be transferring information, schedules, and care to a different application I have already started the cancellation of this one.
Deceptive. I got this because it came up when I searched for a free app. I needed help identifying only 1 plant. When I went through the steps to download it, there was nothing that came up that said there was a fee associated with the app. I seem to remember it mentioning that there was an option to sign up for a yearly subscription, which I didn’t need or want. When searching on the app after downloading, there wasn’t a tab that showed my account info, my payment history/info, or that I signed up for a subscription, so I assumed it was ok to use. I only stumbled upon the email today when logging into my college email that I use for my Apple account. They sent an email about a free 3-day trial before being charged for a subscription. Any app I’ve had that cost something has a way to see what I signed up for within the app. This is ridiculously deceptive and costly. The developers knew exactly what they were doing when they set this up. Let’s see if I get the refund I requested...
Great app small bug. I like this app a lot and I don’t know if this is on me but here’s what happened. I got an iPad for Christmas and had experience with blossom so I got it on my iPad. I did not have an account at this time. I added all my plants and stuff but when I tried to add care reminders it wanted me to go into settings but it wasn’t an option. I think initially I said no to notifications so I was not able to turn on notifications in settings, it wasn’t even an option. Eventually I got it again on my phone, and notifications worked on my phone. I made an account so my plants wouldn’t disappear and so I could log in on my phone. I deleted the app on my iPad and re-downloaded it on my iPad. Good news is notifications work but nothing saved on my account when I logged back into my account on my iPad! I had a garden and everything but when I logged in it was like I just joined. A bit confused on what the point of making an account is if it doesn’t save anything. Could just be something on my end though, I still love the app!
Nice, but What it Lacks Isn’t. Good app for providing helpful information about a wide variety of plants. But I purchased it not only to give me information about my planting, but also to help me remember actions like watering and fertilizing. I’m fairly new to gardening and loving it, but I need all the help I can get. Again, the info provided is good, helpful. But not all the plants for which I need reminders are in their database. And I’m unable to add my own plants to the “My Plants” in order to set up reminders. I do research everything I have or want to plant, and while I recognize that it’s not unusual for all plants to be in a single app, as for reminders, I’ve found that just using the Reminders app on my cell phone works best for me - everything in one place. If this app would have a feature where we could add a plant that it doesn’t recognize, that would solve my problem. As it is now, I have zero plans to renew when the year’s subscription ends.
Nope. I thought I could use this app to catalog and diagnose any issues with my plant. Other than the “My Garden” portion, the app is mostly defunct. Not to mention, bothersome, as it often hassles you about notifications. Sometimes, it takes 4 or 5 pictures of the plant to get it correctly identified. Sometimes, the answer is never found, and I have to search for the plant online. The app does make it easier to identify some plants, but this is hit-or-miss. The plant care instructions have little to nothing to do with the plants needs. It will have you overwatering your plants, and sending constant notifications about how you are delinquent in overwatering and overfertilzing. To get all of the features, you must subscribe. So in order to diagnose any plant problems, you have to pay. Okay. Fine. I paid. For nothing. The app never pares down what your plant’s problem is. It simply gives you an option of what could be. So if you are unsure if you are overwatering your plant, and snap a pic. The app will tell you that it could be overwatering, it could be underwatering, it could be a pest, it could be a disease. Yes, I knew it could be any of those, but which one is it? This app will not tell you. I was excited to get this app. Then I was very disappointed that I did. I don’t recommend Blossom.
What am I paying for??. The idea of the app is great, and I was so excited to get it. Then, of course, they tell you that you have to pay. I paid $30 per year, which is not too much, but still. Now, the last several plants that I added to “My garden” have no description whatsoever, but the link that directs you to the Wikipedia. There is no place to add you notes for each plant (like when you bought it, when it’s time to repot, etc). There is a reminder to water. That is all. If I have to go to Wikipedia to read about my plants and have a separate file on my phone with all the notes, the question is: WHAT AM I PAYING FOR? UPDATE: I have to update my review and give the app 4 stars. There is a room for an improvement still. However, Right after I submitted my review the update came out which mostly addressed the issues I was not happy with. Keep up the good work. Look forward to more fun features!
Love the aesthetic and it's functionality. I use the reminders to water which is nice when having a lot of plants - it is easy to snooze a reminder if you check and the plant doesn't need it yet. I would say that a big issue I have is that when a plant isn't found in their data base (for instance the taco plant or "Peperomia Axillaris") there isn't any way that I've found to send direct feedback so missing plants can be added. Or even if we had the ability to add a "custom" plant in those instances would be nice. Update: I was contacted by the developer that they are glad this was brought to their attention! And very shortly after that a few "missing" plants were available in the app!
Great, Few Improvements Needed. I’ve been using the app heavily and love it, though it would be nice to see an option to view of ALL my plants, rather than browsing room by room. It’s also impossible to know from the Reminder page where the plant is located, so I’ve had to rename every plant (e.g. “office Pothos” vs “kitchen pothos”), which defeats the purpose of the new plant room feature. I’d also like to have filters for the My Garden tab just like on the search tab, so I can quickly filter all my plants by need (e.g. all my plants with full sun needs, temp / humidity, watering intensity, etc). I’ve had to create a spreadsheet to rely on, despite this information being in the app, because it’s not readily accessible or searchable/filter-friendly once it’s added to your garden.
Waste of money. I downloaded this app and was very excited to have a place to store all of my plant info but the design is flawed at best. Putting aside the fact that some of the information on the plants was incorrect (for example I was being told to water my prayer plant in the summer time every two weeks max... this thing thrives in humidity and moist soil at all times) The database is small, and it does not allow for breeds of specific plants. So I could upload a succulent for example but it didn’t have the types that I have. It didn’t even have very popular plants. The string of hearts, for example, is a very well known plant but it barely had anything aside from the picture available, and said they needed to “gather more info”. Probably one of my biggest problems with it, additionally, is that you can’t upload a plant if it’s not in the database! Unless the database has every known plant to mankind, you need to be able to upload your own in the event that it’s not available on the app. You’re then stuck with having to pick the closest thing to it, and not every breed of monstera needs the same care! This app was clearly rushed to the store. The developers needed to take more time to fill out the database. If they don’t have enough plants in it for their launch date, they needed to be able to allow the purchaser to upload their own I did the free trial, and cancelled. I was offered a discount on it. I’m still cancelling and deleting the app anyways. What a waste of money
I like this app....but. I like that the app lets you track watering fertilizing and repoting the plant. You can enter a plant by name or with your camera. Many of plants it identifies has information about the care of the plant. Some things I don’t love and would like to see changed. Some plants are not in the app database and there does not appear to be a away to add them so you can put their care in your schedule. I had to add them under another plant name and rename them, but then the other plant is pictured instead of mine. It stores the pictures taken to identify the plant, I wish it would let you update the pictures of your plants as time goes by/you get a better picture. The only way I can see is to enter the whole plant again. If you own more then one type of the same plant it is difficult to differentiate them other then renaming (I own 3 types of snake plants but they are all entered under the same plant). Lastly some of the plant info and care instructions is pretty sparse a paragraph or less that gives no care info just a description of the plant.
Serial Killer of Plants. I’m not sure what happened but this app has assisted in the murder of ALL of my cacti. The reminders for most of my plants I realize are too soon. As I think of it Ive had to ignore the reminders on my Pony Tail Palms after this app helped me murder two of them. It seems like reminders go off constantly! I always check to see if the plant actually needed water before I watered the plants so in most cases the plant didn’t need water. I’ve even changed the notifications . After the app committed multiple murders I went in and deleted the plant to put it back in again after the seasons changed. I figured if I watered it I could try to keep track of the plants that way but it still doesn’t work ! I don’t know. I subscribed to the full edition and I feel disappointed because i canceled immediately but the developer got a year of money from me and I have a useless serial killer on my hands that I’ve subscribed to.
Perfect for gardening or just an interest in plants. 💚🪴. First of all, the app has a great identification system. The identification makes sense, is completely accurate, and you can see more information, articles, gardening tips, pictures, and more. All the information is easy to process and read, and neat and nice looking. The pictures are high quality and show very useful information. Second of all, there is plant diagnosis. You take a picture of the whole plant, the problem, and from a different angle. It then processes what is wrong with your plant. It tells you, and again, everything makes sense. It tells you what wrong, symptoms, and cures. It also gives you links to things you could buy to help heal your plant. Next, you can set up a watering schedule. If you let it give you notifications, it will notify you when you need to water your plant. Its very useful when you have a tight schedule. Or if you have bad memory. Then, you can take notes on the growth and health of your plant. You can take up to five photos in one note to note what it looks like. After that, there is also articles and tips. You can read articles like “Low maintenance plants.” Or “decorative plants safe for cats” or even “ Watering tips for beginners”. To add on to that, you can search plants. You can see if they are good for your garden, or your house. Maybe you just want to learn about a new plant. You may be thinking, “ how are you sure this is all accurate and correct?” Well, it is approved by professionals. Like scientists, botanists, and professional gardeners. Even my nana approves 😂. Overall this app is perfect. Dont even try to change my mind, you won’t regret getting this app. (PS. All of this is for free! There is even more with the subscription! And the subscription is only $2.30 a month!)
Had to be the number one plant app!!. OMG, I just got this app and it’s sooo cute and the best. It has everything you can think of and more. One nice thing is Blossom does have a subscription plan but you don’t have to pay to access everything like most apps. Without a subscription you'll just get a daily imitated plant identification and maybe limited plant diagnoses I think. Everything else you still get. When I came across this app I did see another app that was practically rated the same as this app but the only thing you get is watering reminders I think. Everything else you really want the app for you have to pay for. I hate having to have subscriptions or paying for apps to work, but don’t mind once in awhile paying for an app depending on what it might be. But this app is so awesome, cute, well made and full of info and everything you can think of so I might actually pay for their subscription. So if your looking for a great app for plants and more this is the app to get. I definitely recommend it.
Only missing one tiny thing. This app is literally perfect and has all the information you need for taking care of your house plants and edible garden plants. I love it. The only thing I would say it’s missing is a widget feature. I would LOVE an option to have a daily featured plant on my Home Screen that I could tap on to learn more about, and a list widget for the plants I need to take care of today. That’s it though I love this app and it’s also less expensive than some other ones it’s a win all around literally changed my plants lives and allowed me to take care of more since I was able to keep track of each plants needs individually. Seriously if you keep killing your house plants you need this app.
Poor database and too frequent watering reminders. I purchased this app for a year, and I really wish I could’ve done a trial beforehand. It does keep a list of your plant, but you have to modify most of them from their identification database. It doesn’t recognize any varieties of plants - basic ones that you see frequently these days. For example all of my philodendron are just classified as philodendron. Some of the photo IDs are just funny, but way off. Still have to utilize other apps as this is one of the worst. Also I like the reminders and how they are easy to add, but I am received the watering reminders too frequently, based upon their recommendations - which if I followed them it would cause all my plants root rot. Please improve your app!! I like the interface and the look/feel of the app. You really need to look at the plant ID feature and the watering recommendations.
Nice for tracking plant care. I downloaded this app probably 6 months ago to get plant care tips as I expanded my collection. It has been really useful for identifying plants and care instructions. I upgraded to the full version to get unlimited access to things like reminders. It worked really well for awhile, but over the past couple of weeks, the reminders haven’t been working correctly. I’m no longer receiving notifications at the scheduled time of 5:30 PM. Instead, I’m receiving them at random times throughout the day, like early in the morning or really late at night. Some days, I don’t receive the push notification at all even though the app shows them as being due. I’ve checked the individual reminder settings and made sure the app was up to date, but it is still happening. I’m a little disappointed since this was not a free app and I may have to seek an alternative if it doesn’t get fixed.
It’s great! But some minor glitches. When you open the search bar to type in the plant from your garden, the keyboard pops up and back down impeding me from being able to type letters into the search bar. This glitches only happens on the MyPlants tab when trying to search for my plants. I have over 50 different kinds of plants and having to scroll down and looking for my plant is more tedious than typing in the name that I already know. Also, in some parts of the app it freezes and there’s no X button to excite the screen, needing me to have to foreclose the app. On other screens the scroll down on a page is frozen and it doesn’t recognize any touch to change tab or to scroll down to continue reading information. The keyboard popping up and down is more consistent and annoying. Other than all those glitches that support has failed to acknowledge, I love the app and the layout of information. I love how easy it is to navigate and find the information as well as the variety of plants recorded in their database. Some plants I haven’t been able to find, but that’s mostly aquarium plants and some fruits and vegetables.
I absolutely love this app!. I am obsessed with this app and rave about it to everyone. It is so useful and has helped me really get to know my plants better. I feel like I can take much better care of them because of all the information that Blossom provides! The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because there have been several times where the app either does not have the plant I am looking for. I have submitted one of them to the app for review so their plant library can expand but haven’t heard back yet. It has only been a few days, so I am excited to see it appear on the app. In addition to this, I have found that the app combines species together. For example, under “calathea spp” it has zebra plant, peacock plant, and rattlesnake plant, whose botanical names are calathea zebrina, calathea makoyana, and calathea lancifolia, respectively. Overall, I think this app is 100% worth the subscription, but I hope that the plant library increases and becomes more organized.
Helpful to setup plant routine care. For starters, this app is used to help you care for plants, NOT cure plants that appear to already dying. ALL plant water routines should be based off the amount of sunlight the plant is already receiving, read The New Plant Parent by Darryl Cheng. This is a paid app because someone is sitting behind a computer somewhere else in the world, uploading thousands of plants and their very specific care needs. I have been using this app for a little longer get a year now and it’s really helped me establish a plant care routine, mostly watering reminders. Lots of plants have been added to the app since then. The tech is not perfect, but the developers make it easy to contact them with problems, updates, etc, and they update it regularly.
Wow, really?. Very disappointed with how many times this app confuses the most distinctive plants for other things. I took a picture of a Sangrillo (Pterocarpus officinalis) to see it’s English name, and it told me this Costa Rican tree with MASSIVE buttress roots was an oak tree? Absolutely unacceptable. I gave it a pass mostly because it’s, you know, a massive tree that I can’t possibly fit in one picture. Strike one, though. Recently moved and bought a little fern to keep me company. Unfortunately, I’m not too keen on fern species, so I whipped out this app and gave it another go. This fern is a small, stout plant with many, very detailed individual leaves. Blossom had the great idea of telling me it was a BOSTON FERN?? Come on! Was it even trying? I wasn’t sure what it was, but it absolutely wasn’t a Boston fern! Such a different fern, no way you could ever confuse that! Second strike. Third strike blew around when I went to the grocery store and browsed their potted plants, and just for the laughs of how wonderfully accurate this app has been, pulled out my phone and scanned each one. Let me just say, the results were in line with my previous interactions with this app. Buy this app if you want some AI to throw random plant names at you, regardless of what you show it. If you’re looking to actually ID some plants, avoid Blossom at all costs. Also, it shoves a subscription ad down your throat with every button you push. I couldn’t imagine paying for a plant name generator.
Pretty interface but lacking in many ways. I probably will not pay for this app a second year. Aesthetically it is quite pleasing, but it lacks several things I consider vital to a good plant app: 1) I use this app largely for care reminders. There is no “snooze” button for reminders so if a plant isn’t quite ready to be watered I have to re-do its schedule to reflect how many more days I think it’ll need before sufficiently dry, or let overdue reminders pile up, which leads me to my second issue.... 2) Far as I can tell, there is no way to “break out” piled up overdue reminders. I can only see one on top of the virtual stack, and if I want to remind myself which other plants I need to be monitoring daily for water I have to clean that too overdue reminder. 3) This is a complaint I have with most pant apps, but it seems pronounced on Blossom - the plant ID function is incredibly limited. Even searching by name doesn’t yield results most of the time - the ID DB doesn’t have a Ficus Audrey, for instance. So it’s quite limited there. If any of the features I’ve mentioned as lacking actually are available on the app I have not been able to find them. Edit: There have been several very positive updates of this app and I’m nearly completely happy with it at this point. The ‘snooze’ function has completely transformed its usability for me, which I really appreciate. It seems like the ID DB has expanded somewhat. It still is not as comprehensive as would be ideal, but I can work with it.
Good overall, but needs improvement. I really like how you can add multiple photos for each plant and write notes. I wish I was able to customize the layout of my garden. For example, instead of having it all listed, it would be nice if I could have a thumbprint photo of each plant or be able to organize them based on location. I do like the wishlist function! The plant care reminder is helpful. Although I mostly use the app to learn more about my plants and keep track of their growth. One thing I really wish I could do on the app is to bookmark certain articles/blogs that are posted under explore. Some of the articles are really useful and it would be great to be able to easily reference back to certain ones.
Helpful and motivating but could use some updates. I just downloaded and subscribed to this app for 50% off. I really like that I can add the plants that I have to the “My Garden” section. I wish there were more plants to choose from to add to the “My Garden” section (I couldn’t find some simple basic plants in the list) or a place we could add our own plants for those not listed. For example, I have Roma tomatoes and it is not available in the “My Garden” section when I want to add it to my collection and I can’t manually add it either. I do like the feature of this app in which each plant I do add gives a lot of description on how to water, info on pests, soil, sun, and much more. I really like that you can set your own reminders of when to water each plant (it gives suggestions) and it breaks the schedule down by day for which plant needs to be watered when. In the informational article section, there is no search tab, which I was very surprised with. I hope there will be some updates in the future to this app and I look forward to using the helpful info I do find in the articles by just scrolling. I’m excited to learn from the information provided about each plant in the “My Garden” section in the app and the watering schedule and reminders.
Great and easy to use app with lots of potential. I love this app so far. The reminders that can be set for watering, repotting, etc are so useful to a new plant dad like myself. The information on the pants is great for care and understanding more and I it’s great that it even tells you how much light is required. 4 stars because I believe there are 2 or 3 features that should be worked in to make this app even more robust. 1) Plant disease identification and treatment tips. As a new owner I still don’t know a lot by memory or what to search for so this feature would be great. 2) I’m realizing that adding multiples of the same plant, even if it’s just different subspecies, isn’t really feasible. Unless I haven’t figured it out, functionality for easy set up of multiple reminders for different plants would be amazing. 3) Is it possible to build in a function that uses our phones to measure light in FCs/foot candles? I have a meter myself but that function within this app would be amazing and I didn’t see any apps in the store that did that reliably when I searched. Great job, keep it up! Looking forward to continued use and future updates.
Good reminder, but…. If you log all your plants - and you have a lot of them - Blossom is pretty good about sending you a notification reminding you to water that Golden pothos you have on your bookshelf you almost forgot about. I’ve learned the hard way that if you’re really serious about your plants, it’s no substitute for educated care. Throughout winter I relied heavily on Blossom for water scheduling and that was about it. My moisture meter collected dust and I got lazy about really honing in on deliberate, attentive care. And I’ll admit everyone was thriving and doing great, and then the pests and overwatering caught up to me. I’d say it’s hard to blame this app for its shortcomings (really not great at plant ID), but if there’s a disclaimer that you shouldn’t solely rely on it to keep your plants alive (especially if you have 40+). I’d like to see more environment options and hesitations when it comes to watering schedules, instead of a red alert that cons you into overwatering a Alocasia that could use some more time to dry out.
A mostly good app with a lot of issues.. Current Issues: - You have to manually sync. Spouse needs to water the plants today & you did it yesterday? They can’t water them until you go deep into the profile settings & manually sync it. - No explanation of what the medium light vs low light vs part shade is. - Recommended amount of water to use while watering is much too high. Also doesn’t auto adjust it if the pot doesn’t have drainage. - Photo ID is ok at best. The library of plants you can search seems pretty small. Plant photo gallery is usually only one 1-2 pictures. - Submitted a photo for a sick plant & never received a response. - Bug in the search function for searching within your own garden. - Yes I know it’s cold outside, it’s winter. The plants are all inside. You don’t need to remind me every morning to bring them in. I only need significant weather notifications during the summer, such as high UV. - When you postpone a watering for a day, the notification will no longer tell you when the last time it was watered. - Custom pictures for plants needs to be realigned. - The slider bar on the pot size is stupidly sensitive. I’d love to see: - The ability to sort plants by light needs. - Ability to create a custom plant, especially if they’re going to keep their plant library so limited. Or a “Succulent (General)” plant profile for a succulent that the library doesn’t have. That follows how you would generally care for a succulent, instead of picking the closet profile for your plant.
Very Disappointed!!. I love this app and I started a subscription in August. Entered all of my plants into it and was so happy with it. Then in the beginning of November I got a new iPhone and transferred everything to it but this app didn’t do so well. I couldn’t get any way to access my info. I checked my Apple subscriptions and took a screenshot of my payment and order/member number and sent it to the app support. So, two and a half weeks later I am still riding the email merry go round with support. They tell me to do something that I cannot access and the reason I am making this review is to hopefully save other customers this awful lack of customer service when you hand over your hard earned money for an app that I was hoping would provide me reminders for the care of my plants. BUYER BEWARE!!

Not good. I did 5 plants and every plant was identified wrong took a pic of my zucchini plant and it said it was a fig one example not one plant was rightly identified by this app it’s a joke and I had to pick a star for this review but I would not give it a star
amazing gave me all the information i needed. Amazing, was so easy to use and helped me as a new plant parents
One of my favourite apps. Very handy to have a list of plants in the collection with all the information and care guides, even the level of toxicity — crucial for pet owners! ❤️❤️❤️
Worst app ever!. I wish I read past the 1st review. First plant (common plant) apparently it couldn’t match it. Next plant 3 different scans (all of the same areas of plant) came up with 3 different plants. Complete waste of time. Much better apps on the market. Only rating 1 star because I can’t do zero
Great App, Useless for Australia. It's well designed visually and has good features (though a plant diagnosis function needs to be included!)... The problem is it's based in America and can't identify most Australian plants, and all the recommendations are in the wrong season for Australia.
Useless and the subscription cancelation page does not work. Could not recognise any simple indoor plants. The care tips are very basic, it’s easier to google it! The link to subscription cancelation does not work, have to do cancellation through my bank, what a waste of time.
SCAM AND BAD. Worst app ever. I signed up for the free trial and cancelled straight away as the app was lacking. Had no plant or flower species at all! They never actually cancelled it And now I’ve woken to my 33 DOLLARS being taken when I cancelled the subscription. This is unacceptable and disgusting, taking money from people who don’t even have it in the first place. Literally made the transaction at 1am, DODGYYYYYY DONT TRUST. I WANT MY MONEY BACK
Helpful and beautiful, give this a go!. I immediately found this app aesthetically pleasing, accurate and helpful. I’ve seen other reviews saying that it’s not accurate, but I urge you to give it a go if you want to look after an indoor plant or small collection, and see if it works for you. My small plant is an arrow head vine, and has so far been given adequate care that I expected of this app. I especially love how the plant identifier gives you options so you can accurately choose which one looks most like your plant.
Indoor Garden Delight. Such a cool app. Really well priced. Had a LOL when i signed in as the app opens with “aloe there” hahaha. Very clever. Diagnosed my 3 plants within 5 minutes. Hoping for a nice green indoor space. Well done!
Gone bust?. Used to receive advice but have had multiple questions and no response from them in 9days. Not sure if still running?
Very user friendly, however can improve functionality. This app is super user friendly: it is easy to use and pleasing in appearance. The recognition of plants is great. The notification for watering and feeding is very useful. All in all a great purchase for those, who want to keep track of health of their plants. Some improvement needed in issues identification. Every time I scan a dry leaf, the app says it is a bacterial issue. The causes included: overwatering, under-watering, too much sunlight, not enough sunlight, etc. - basically the cause can be anything. It also does not provide a good resolution path. It may be too hard to automate this detection, then maybe don’t advertise it. Again, this is only an issue for those looking for issue identification and resolution app.
Blossom App Review. Such a helpful system to take care of plants in the home. User friendly UI, gorgeous visuals and a great database. Many thanks for creating this!
Love it but wish there were more plants n info. I’m loving this app, has helped me as a beginner but I would love to see more plants on the app! I often forget when to water plants as not every plant is the same and so the reminders and care tips really help! I often go to search up a plant to find it not on the app which is saddening because I have to go use google and try remember when to water it 🤣
American. As I suspected, not Australian. So temperatures are in F not C. I can convert inches and feet in my head but temperature I have to google. Lots of really good information though and it’s adjustable to your temperature zone. I like the diary part and the diagnosis part was helpful too.
Simply doesn’t work at all now. App worked for a while, although plant recognition is not very accurate. Now the App is completely frozen on startup step “tailoring you blossom experience…”. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, restarting my phone. All my iPhone 12 iOS software is up to date. Nothing fixes the app. Very dissatisfied at this stage. I want a refund or the technical team to fix asap.
Great news about the plants and watering problems very helpful.🍀🍃🌻. Great
Forgot to cancel annual trial - figured I’d use it none the less. Useless in Australia. Great concept but abysmal at detecting plants. Reading between the lines they figure they can grow their database hence encouraging submissions manually - the image recognition simply does not work.
A good app, but a couple of annoying elements. I do like the app, it’s great to keep track of my plants. Although the constant upgrade pop up is annoying. I can’t see any significant advantage to Premium, what you get is unclear. If they offered more extras I’d upgrade. The app only lists temperature in Fahrenheit. Only five countries still use this… so people living in one of the remaining 97.5% of countries that use Celsius need to calculate the conversion. It would be nice to be able to group plants, for companion potting.
Inaccurate Info. Not enough plants in their database (I have pretty common houseplants) and their snap feature does not work as promised. Also their water in recommendations are too high!! All my plants would get root rot if I watered as much as recommended, and I live in a dry hot climate. Fantastic idea with a wonderful aesthetic, but needs work.
Overpriced and pointless. The app looks nice but the data is useless. It couldn’t identify most of my succulents and the data depends on its users submitting their own data and images. This app should be free or only a one time purchase.
App isn’t actually free. I can’t comment on the actual app itself, but it’s one of those annoying apps that claims to be free, but requires you to sign up for a “free trial”, hoping you forget you’ve subscribed. It’s deceptive, and needs to be called out.
Overpriced, underperforms. I had Premium for a year and don’t think it was worth what I paid. Renewal price was exorbitant. Plant identifier was good, but plant care seems generic. Same with health diagnosis, didn’t find it accurate or helpful.
Not worth $28. It’s literally just a plant identifier and you can set watering reminders. The ad which made me download in the first place implied that it would identify what needed to be done with a plant. I uploaded a snap of a plant looking a little worse for wear but no tips to bring back to life - just identified the type and said how many times to water per week in general. But pointless for the $28 fee.
Not of much use. This app have their own topics /videos to display( not too many available) also if you want to search for something on gardening , there is no option to do so. Example if I want to search on rust mite , irrespective of any plant or any other tip/issues/query there is no option to do so. Would not be renewing this
Often have to take multiple photos to identify plant. Wouldn’t buy again.
Not a good app. This app is expensive Not like other app doesn’t identify what wrong with the plan and how to fix it It was too late for me to cancel subscription Doesn’t recommend
Sneaky. The way the app is set to automatically set up a subscription is sneaky. It’s also very expensive and it wasn’t very good at identifying plants. Edit after response: I wasn’t charged because I understood how you had set the app up. I think it is fair to say a large portion of your target audience would not, and they would be tricked in to a paid subscription. The way this product has been designed has absolutely been done to confuse and rip your users off. And more importantly, it is terrible at identifying plants! I downloaded Picture This app for free after I had deleted your grubby little mess and it is much more accurate.
Does work and ridiculously expensive. Not only is the price ridiculous the app doesn’t even work. Identified multiple plants incorrectly - some weren’t even close to being correct! In addition to that, a 3 day free trial has to be the stingiest trial length I’ve ever encountered. Do not recommend.
Great app. I just identified and cataloged all the 26 plants I have in my front yard. Tomorrow I’ll do the backyard. It would be great if I could group and separate them in My Garden. I have much more species in the backyard. Besides that, love the app.
Do not download! Not worth your time. Absolutely scam of an app which charged me for a full year’s subscription after I forgot to cancel following a quick browse on the shortest free trial ever - 3 days! All info you can basically find from a quick google search and even then google will give you info that is actually helpful. Save yourself the hassle and money! If I could give 0 stars I would.
Don’t bother. Requires a subscription to even access basic functions. (Why do developers do this?) The developer claims there is a way to use the app without subscription, I tried very hard to find a way. Couldn’t find one. Used the free trial, but it wrongly identified many plants with out any way to correct it - just by typing in the name.
Feedback. I’m loving the features of this app and the subscription price point, when discounted, is a fair price. Two points of feedback that prevent me from giving 5 stars: 1. I would love to be able to customise the image associated with each plant when in the ‘My Garden’ section. It would allow users to access care information and logs faster as identifying a plant by how it looks for us is easier than remembering all of the names. 2. I had trouble actually sending feedback through the apps feedback option. I wrote the email, but it didn’t give me the option to send Overall, great app and with the 50% discount I can’t really fault the app itself and it’s usability.
Didn’t work. Took several photos of my blueberry bush plus a grape vine different description to what it was Blueberry actually had a blueberry in the photo and it described it as a Japanese ivy Also described the grape vine as an ivy Have now deleted the app
Not worth it. This is the first app I’ve ever purchased. It’s not really worth it as the reminders it sends, you can use google calendar for. The plant care is mediocre, and the diagnosis tool is an absolute joke. For any issue your plant has, it says it can be overwatering, underwatering, too much light, not enough light and so forth. Basically it doesn’t help with anything specific, you have to figure things out for yourself. It also doesn’t have all plants and the plant recognition tool isn’t that good either. Conclusion: won’t renew the subscription
Good app. Good app for tracking the care of your plants but I wish you could set your region. I’m in Australia so I don’t need information about summer in the middle of winter.
Amazing app!. Such a good informative app! And it gave it all for free without asking to pay!
200% price increase. I’ve enjoyed using the app, the care reminders are great. But I’ve just received notification that subscription has increased more than 200% since last year, and I won’t be renewing at that price.
Great app for garden lovers. Really like the app, I just like to share with my wife, is that allowed.
Great app needs more international metrics. So far the app is doing great for me but I’m based in Australia and I’m hoping the the developers add more location based info and add Celsius degrees alongside fare height
Just wish I could add unknown plants. This has been a great app that I have been happy to use. Although what I struggle with the most is the fact that I can only add plants that are within the database. A good amount of the time I come across a plant that I already know the name of and how to care for, but I can’t add it into my app garden because it’s not in the database. Besides that it’s been a very useful app for someone who has lots of plants like me!
Fee to high for a app that doesn’t offer much.. Buyer be aware! 3 day subscription before you are charged $48USD for a years subscription on an app that misses the mark. I was hoping this app wouldn’t just identify my plant but also give me care instructions, I.e.: when to water, when/what to fertilise (frequency and what types it likes) is it suitable for indoors/outdoors. But instead I found I had to google this info, once I knew the plant. Also, because it’s a subscription, if you do like this app you need to pay the whole amount again in 12months. Way over priced for what it is.
Review request too soon. This app asked to soon whether I was enjoying it.
Ridiculously expensive - get PlantNet instead. Tried the 3 day free trial, and isn’t even as good as PlanetNet which is free. When I cancelled the subscription before they charged me almost SIXTY FIVE DOLLARS for a year, the app then offered me an annual subscription for less than $12 instead.. why wouldn’t anyone pay $65 for an app when they can afford to offer it for $12? Absolute scam, and it’s not even a good app.
No option to turn off notifications. The first thing you see when entering the app is a prompt to turn on notifications- there’s no X or way to close the pop up. Their intentions are clear.
Gardens created are not saved within account. The gardens you create and the plant are NOT stored within the account and able to be transferred to another phone. This also means you cannot have two phones connected to the same account to enable different members of your household to have access to the plants watering scheduled! I fell this is such a basic thing and not even considered. Deleting my subscription and app immediately and will be requested a refund apple.
Got 1/15 plants correct. The app set up was ok, pretty easy to use. But it couldn’t identify a chilli from a petunia. The only plant out of 15 it got correct was the frangipani. Every single other one was waaaaaaaaay off. It said my peach tree was a almond tree, my Yucca was a song of India, my chilli bush was petunias... etc. This app has no idea. ** UPDATE: I’m impressed I got a response from the developer. But they gave me useless tips that I tried anyway. For example, I tried to increase the accuracy by taking many photos. And I tried taking it just if the leaves, or just of the flowers, etc. And for a paid app, why would I bother going through the effort of sending pictures to the developers and making an effort to fix their app. It’s like I’m paying to fix their problems. So I downloaded “Picture This” which had nailed every plant identification. So I still think it’s a useless app.
Beware. This app will charge you in 2 days. Don’t Even attempt to try them. Not worth it . Ist plant , could not even identify. Very rude to charge annual fee after 2-3 day free trial. You could have charged a monthly fee instead! I hope you don’t get to fool a lot of people. Even after being sneakily charged , I removed the app. So not worth it!
Plants. Love the app Wish I had it long ago Gives u so much information on plants I love how you can get reminders on when to water, fertilise etc. Love it❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Localisation is terrible. If you’re going to offer your app on the Australian App Store, add Australian natives to your database. I tried to add my Billy Buttons and couldn’t. To top it off there’s no clear way to request a plant. A few other apps I’ve tried have a button on the ‘no results’ page and only require a scientific name.
Needs to seperate Hemispheres. Apps these days are purchased world wide, developers need to remember there are two hemispheres with opposite seasons! It would be helpful if users could choose where they live and the app give relevant information to that season. Thank you from Michelle, Downunder!

Subscription increase. Cancelling cause significant price increase. Darn
Terrible app. Waste of time
Annulation. Je veux annuler l’application Blossom soin des plantes . Comment?
Not the best. App keeps crashing when trying to upload photos and doesn’t find some plants
%$⬇️. Avantageux rabais après désabonnement! Merci.
I don’t like some of the changes. What happened to the custom care reminders. I’m an intermediate plant parent and need to be able to set reminders things other than watering and fertilizing (pest treatments, flushing Leica, etc.). Either the feature changes or it’s been removed. So annoying. I’m a month away from renewing my annual subscription and am contemplating using a different app. Please bring the feature back!
Great app — so helpful. This app rocks! It reminds me to water my plants (which is necessary for me to keep them alive! lol) It also allows me to keep a detailed record of my plants’ names, who was propagated from whom, when I last repotted them, the colour of their blooms (I grow mostly Christmas and Easter cacti), photos of their growth progress and when to fertilize them. It also helps me figure out what might be the issue if they get sick. It is worth every single penny.
Love it!. I have all my plants healthy and happy with this app! So glad I have this app, thank you for making this and keeping this app open for us to use it! I recommend this to anyone who needs a little help with plants !
No free option. There is no free option for the application. You only get 7 days free trial and after that you have to pay. I wanted a free version just to keep track of what plants I have. You HAVE to subscribe. This is very misleading
Scam. I downloaded the app through the website. Cancelled the app the same day. Cancelled the free trial in my subscriptions on my iPhone. Then charged 29.99 US which is 42$ CAD. I didn’t create an account on their website only downloaded the app. I spent a 1/2 hour on the phone with apple support only for them to figure out Blossom charged me on the website. I contact Blossom & no one contacted me back only an automated email. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME & SAVE YOUR $. These guys are scammers!
Un peu ordinaire. J’ai pris l’application pour me faire dire si je dois ajouter genre du sucre ou n’importe quoi d’autre pour rendre mes plantes plus belles mais rien de cela ne met indiqué!!! J’ai l’impression d’avoir payé pour me faire dire quand arroser!!!!! Un peu poche 😳
Price. How are you going to hike up the price from 18.99 a year to 79.99?!?! Absolutely insane. Cancelling subscription
Scam?. Was trying to do the free trial and I’m on day 1 (really only tried it for a few hours) and I received an email from Apple with a bill for a 1 year subscription! I cancelled it already and really hope that at the end of these 3 days I won’t get billed.. what’s that about? I deleted it from my phone but I feel like I’ve wasted hours of my day trying to make sure I won’t get billed for this.
New Owners. I loved this app but it has been bought out and the new company doesn’t protect user information. It is complicated to opt out of personal advertising and sharing of user’s personal information. Very disappointed. I’ll be searching for a new app.
Love this. App is so good
Abonnement. Deficulté de se désabonner
RAISING SUBSCRIPTION. It is absolutely ridiculous to increase your yearly subscription from $37.99 to $99.99. That is unethical and greedy. I will be deleting and telling all my friends to delete the app. Criminal.
Can’t search. Keyboard hides itself after typing one character in the search field. Also you can’t even look at the app initially without almost being tricked into a subscription. I fully support paying for software you use, and I’m definitely not one of those entitled users who expect developers to work for free, but don’t try and trick me into a subscription right after opening your app the first time.
Pricy. Wish it was free
Used to be free. I have been using the app for the past 3 years and loved it. I was using the free version with no issues as it was all I needed. Now all of a sudden it won’t let me get past the trial offer and use the free version. I have to either accept the 7 day free trial or the pro version. No getting into the free version anymore. Very very frustrating.
Account was deleted for no reasons. Account was deleted for no reasons, after I paid for a year. I want my money back 🤬
Bien. J’adore votre application! Par contre, je n’achète pas car le trouve ça trop cher! Suggestion, faire des promotions de temps en temps
Don’t do it.. I have had this app for years. Used to recommend this app to everyone. Was 26.49 for the year and they upped it to 89.99. That’s a massive price jump. They have even taken things way that they use to have. For example you used to be able to make up your own reminders but they removed that a few years ago. I’m looking elsewhere for something more cost efficient. There’s lots of other apps out there that do the same thing and ALOT cheaper.
Sad demise of a great app. I used to recommend this app to all my friends, until the app went from $24.99/yr to $89/yr. Now I’ll just delete it. I would pay $35/yr for this, but not more. Not sure how the developer justifies triple the cost jump.
Paid to put more than 2 plants on schedule. So once I try to add more than 3 plants I’m prompted to pay for their app. Not worth if I don’t have that many plants just a handful
Not great. I paid for the whole year as I have around 20 plants and wanted this app to accurately tell me when to water and fertilize each plant. It doesn’t keep track at all, it seems to reset to some unknown amount of days and not the set amount. For example, I have an orchid where I am supposed to water and fertilize it every 7 days. I watered and fertilized it yesterday on August 5 and it’s prompting me again to water and fertilize it on August 7. I have to go into every single plant everyday to check if the app has messed it up - which it is always does. It was able to identify some plants I put in which was nice but it didn’t have a lot of the plants I own. Not worth the money. I am requesting a refund.
Huge price increase. Loved this app, was really great for plant care and identification. I used it for years. The new price increase is ridiculous. From $37.99 to 99.99?! No thanks. I’m sure they will be losing a lot of customers and downloads.
Cannot cancel. Please be careful! I cancelled my subscription months before my renewal date because this app did not meet my needs. However, even though I was notified my subscription had been cancelled they billed my credit card for the renewal. I have called and left messages and emailed them at the address given to me by my credit card company and yet I have heard nothing about a refund. Perhaps this is how they really make their money. Be careful!
Inutilisable sans abonnement. Incapable d'utiliser l'application sans payer l'abonnement
Not even close!. I took pictures of flowers that have known identification and it got them all wrong. The app just kept suggesting the same thing which was incorrect.
It’s a great app but needs subscription. It’s actually one of the only plant apps that function without a subscription, but a lot of features need a subscription.
Disappointed. I love this app, however, subscription went from $15.00 to $79.99 per year. I can’t justify paying that for simple care reminders
Fine app but it signs you app for ANNUAL subscription. Please be careful as this application signs you up automatically for a 1 year subscription after the free trial and not an monthly one. Just wanted to try it out and not pay $40 for something I’m rarely going to use. Very scummy behavior on the developers part for that to be the default.
Misidentification. Im not sure about the overall features of this app, but my very first plant was misidentified and was correct when using a much much cheaper app, therefore I will not be subscribing as I have no confidence in the identification.
Taking care of house plants. Detailed information about different types of plants and how to get the best out of them and how to combine them in groups
Didn’t get desired details. I downloaded the app to see whats wrong with my plant but it kept on displaying plant information and other generic details. Deleted the app in 5mins. Hope I dont get charged for it.
Great app, but noticed some weirdness. The search bar only lets me type 1 character before it dismisses the keyboard and I have to tap the search bar again
Expensive excellence. Works great Their pricing after the trial is way too expensive so ended up deleting it I miss it but the price is silly
Disappointed.. Other apps tell you how to take care of your plants and not just when yo water and transfer to a bigger pot.
Cancelar subscripcion. Quiero cancelar mi subscripcion
Why does every app have to be subscription. I’d really like to try this but I can’t sign up for automatic subscription payments for every app. I’d prefer a single payment for the app and then be able to decide whether to update later. At least let us try it before we have to sign up.
Annoying. I’m just looking for an app to track my plants, not get reminders and stuff for watering, but this app is pretty much unusual unuseable because of all the popovers to subscribe to premium. They come up even when you’re bringing the app forward from the background. Is so intrusive. If you’re not paying for it it’s pretty much unusable
Good. Good
comment annuler. comment annuler même si j’a trois jours gratuits car c’est n’est pas ce que je cherchais désolée merci de me répondre
Désabonner. Je veux me désabonner de Blossom.
I want to cancel my account and it’s not letting me. Horrible I can’t cancel and it just gives me options for more subscriptions

Shady Sales Tactic. There is no free trial. You have the options to 1) think you’re getting a free trial but paying for a subscription or 2) get the subscription. They wrote it off as “apple doesn’t let us refund.” But to advertise it as a free trial is shady in itself. They probably figure most won’t go through the trouble of getting their robbed money back. Since when does a free trial cost money. -in response to company reply: there is no actual trial period. I was charged immediately for the “3 day trial” without an actual trial period to decide on whether or not I enjoyed the product. I was immediately charged; not a moment went by, let alone 3 days, prior to being charged. This is not an issue of forgetting to cancel to the trial.
Overall Nice App. Still room for improvement. I love that you can organize the plants by room, but the process of checking them off when watering is super tedious and time consuming within the room pages. I water by plants by room, so I usually go into the room folder and click on each plant as I water it to compete it. It would be so much easier if I didn’t have to click into each plant to hit “complete.” It would also be helpful to be able to sort the plants in the reminders tab by room, by name and by water date and add filters.
Amazing life changing😍😍. I recently downloaded this app and I have not regretted my decision at all. I am a succulent nerd and I got an aloe very last summer. It started to wilt and die I got really worried because it’s my favorite plant and I did not know what to do until I saw the add for this app in tv and it changed my plant crisis! You can take the worst picture on the planet and it will still find your plant this works for flowers and succulents! I LOVE this app it also shows pictures of type of your plant for example my aloe. There’s a red aloe I did not know existed, and I found the exact type of aloe I have. The aloe I currently have is a soap aloe! I highly recommended this app you will never regret it I promise!😍😍🤩🤯♥️❤️
Good starter app but needs work. The app is pretty and very easy to use. It definitely comes in handy for reminding me when to water and fertilize my plants. The info available in the entries is pretty basic but it’s enough for the casual plant person. While this app lets you track all sorts of indoor and outdoor plants, including flowers and trees, it still needs to flesh out its houseplant database a bit more. For that reason, the app may not serve hardcore houseplant enthusiasts very well. I’d like to see more entries for different houseplant species so that I can more easily keep track of the different plants in my garden. Sometimes care instructions are slightly different for different varieties. For example, there is an entry for a golden pothos but not for a marble queen or pothos N Joy (I happen to have 2). There is also only one blanket arrowhead vine entry even though there are dozens of beautiful species of Syngonium (such as albo, pink neon, confetti, cream allusion, white butterfly, etc) all of which look very different. Philodendron birkin also isn’t listed, which is a bit of an oversight in my opinion. It would be great if the app could also help troubleshoot common problems. I could take a picture of a problematic leaf or plant and the app could try to make suggestions. If that’s too complicated, maybe there could be a “Common Problems” section on the plant’s information page with example pictures of what the plant looks like when it’s overwatered, under watered, isn’t getting the right light, etc. Despite all this the app does have potential, it just needs more houseplant entries and maybe more specific information about each plant. And better photos. I knocked off another star (I’d give it a 3.5/5 if I could) because this app should NOT be subscription based. Just have one up front charge and call it a day.
Impressive in some ways, not in others. Plant ID is impressive if not always perfect. I think it's notifications are very annoying and they need finer control. For example, I don't need a notification every other day during winter that it's cold outside. Also, sometimes the amount it tells me to water my plant is in total disagreement with the expert care tips the app also provides. For example, umbrella plants are supposed to be rarely watered during the winter (like every 3 weeks) yet this app somehow still recommends watering nearly a gallon per week in a medium pot. Of course, I can manually edit the watering reminders, but isn't the point of this app that it's supposed to figure that out for me?
It’s Okay. I downloaded the app out of curiosity but deleted after day two (I would be billed for the subscription after the third day). The theme is very aesthetically pleasing and I think it did a good job of plant identification. It helps having the extra pictures provided when you are trying to identify your plant. The reminders are useful but the information about each plant varies, some have barely any information and some have very detailed descriptions and care advice. Overall not worth the money for how little you get. I already have a reminders app on my phone and the notes app for detailed information I need and the app doesn’t really offer much of value in addition. Having reminders and notes in one place would be nice but it’s just not convenient enough for $6 a month.
Really great app, only one issue with it. This is the best plant app i’ve used for my plants and it has so many great features like a diagnosis feature, where you take a few pictures of the sick area and it tells you what could be wrong and what you can do about it. However, it does not always notify me of when my plants need to be watered. In fact, it only notifies me about 60% of the time. If that could be fixed at all or if i am doing something wrong within the app that i can fix then it would 110% be five stars :)
Needs option when you decide to water early. DEVS PLEASE READ! I’m annoyed that once you set a watering schedule there is no easy way to modify it if you want to water early! For example if one of my plants is looking a little dry and I decide to water it 2 days early, I wish I could click “Water” and then it would automatically mark the upcoming watering task as accomplished, and then remind me again X days later as I had previously set up. Right now I have to go into each plant and manually push the care reminder back, otherwise it will remind me again in 2 days, which would be way too early since I just watered it. This is INCREDIBLY annoying when you have 50+ plants like I do. Watering schedules are not an exact science so there need to be a quick way to just tap when you care for a plant and it snoozes the notification by X days. Please fix this! It makes me want to delete this app and invest in another app with better plant management. Thank you!
Filtering by zone, please!. I just got this app and so far, I really like it. I live in humid, hot ol’ Florida and I want to make a ‘Goth Garden’ in our front flowerbeds (this girl doesn’t do Florida colors 😉). I’m getting some ideas and this app is helpful, especially as one part of our flowerbed is full shade, but may I suggest adding a hardiness zone search in the filters? Sadly a lot of plants are out of the question because of the Florida heat, but I notice some of the plants in the app don’t even mention the zone for them. Also a search suggestion...drought-resistant plants. Winter & early spring is our dry season and it would be great to know what plants are suitable. Thank you
Needs Improvement. I wanted to love this app — it is very user friendly, the reminders are great, it’s aesthetically pleasing — but unfortunately after paying for it for a time I came to realize no particular variations of certain species were available, and several of the plans I have could not be identified. Of the ones it did identify, two of my favorite plants later died, I assume from overwatering, after I followed the care recommendations provided to me. I had had them for months and they were doing fine, but I was led to believe I was under-watering them based on these recommendations. Apparently I wasn’t. I’m a novice plant keeper and I was really hoping this app could keep me organized and informed, but after that I cancelled my membership.
Love it. New plantie here! Downloaded this app to help me understand how to give the best care to my plants. Extremely user friendly and the premium subscription is reasonably priced. There are some great features! You can take photos and identify your plants (which gives you tons of great plant information) then save them to your garden. Set up reminders, diagnosis a plant if your are unsure of what’s going on. Best part is the journal for each plant. You can write notes and take pictures to help you remember. Overall amazing app.
Need to improve the plant recognition!. I love the App, it’s no brainer when it comes to managing water cycles and learning from the videos but I got the app for the ability to recognize plants. The team has a long way to go to ensure the accuracy of the app to detect plants. I’ve tried several times and the results are always different for the same plant. Being a Engineer I understand how difficult this to to train and build models to detect every species of plant but then again if the capability is not ready, keep the feature in Beta and let people opt in free to give you the images so you can train and build better ml models. I give 3 stars for the basic features and usability and reminders for watering.
I WANT to love this app but.... I bought this app after my mom died to try to keep her plants alive. It works great except once you set watering reminders, and click Complete when you have watered, the next day it will un-click that and make it look like you forgot to water your plants. I overwatered one or two because I couldn’t remember if I forgot to water it or if the app was just screwing up. I now realized that almost every day, you have to re-click complete on the last few days of watering just so the app knows it has been done. Also, It might work for a few days pretty good then all of a sudden I have 30 notifications that my plants watering is overdue... because all the waterings have been marked as incomplete. It completely defeats the purpose of the app.
Not worth the money. If this app was free, possibly would have given more stars. But the fact this app actually charges a subscription fee and then has so little to offer really bothers me. I recently got into the hobby of keeping house plants, and I thought this app would help me, you know, tell me how to care for each plant etc. well, it doesn’t. I used it to add all of my plants to my “garden” but then when I click on it all it does is give me the option to set a reminder to water it. & show me a list of “plants with similar needs”. It doesn’t tell me any facts about the plants, or how to care for them. I find google a billion times more useful for learning how to take care of my plants. By all means, download this app. It’s not half bad, but DO NOT FOR THE LOVE OF PLANTS PAY FOR THE SUBSCRIPTION. It’s a total rip off.
It has deserved 3 stars. The app itself is fine it’s just the repotting videos and the reminders. First the reporting videos tell you to add drainage pebbles to a pot that already has drainage. This is a problem because all pots should have drainage this is right but never pebbles. They are not necessary and they can even be the cause to a poor houseplant or even dead. Second the reminders to water plants. While it’s a good idea to have a reminder to check your plant for watering this can be an issue because many people can take this too literal and water when the apps tell them. The plant could be drowned in water and this leads to root rot.
App stopped working. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS APP!!! I used the app for a few years and I’ve tried several weeks to open the app so I could see what plants needed to be fertilized, do health checks, etc. I could not get past the opening screen. I used the app for approximately 3-4 years and had over 100 plants loaded in the app. I tried everything including deleting the app and reinstalling it, to no avail. This app is NOT cheap but when it worked I felt it was worth it. I have lost all of my data and I am apparently not eligible for a refund because I didn’t make any “in app” purchases. I recommend this app to several people and feel horrible because I’m sure they are out the $70 as well. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS APP!!!!!
Can’t even identify an artificial plant from a real plant.. I decided to run a test to see how good this app really was. I have artificial plants inside my home and tried it on those, and lo and behold this app failed to identify my artificial plants as artificial from the real thing. I then took it outside to some real plants in my yard and it could not properly identify those either. I would not trust this app in the field as a combat veteran of the United States to be reliable to save my life from ingesting the wrong plants instead of the right ones. Just give me the old field guides I had in the Boy Scouts because those I have more inaccurate information than this app. I’m certain that the Girl Scouts also have more accurate information than this app does as well for identifying such things. I wasted money subscribing to this app. I hope nobody else does either because it’s just a money trip.
Automatic Subscription WARNING. Let me be Frank. If you have downloaded this app and thought you chose the free option, check your subscriptions in your App Store app NOW!! I have never automatically been signed up for a subscription after downloading an app and opening it for the first time! I CHOSE THE FREE OPTION AND STILL GOT CHARGED! Look over the other reviews. I am not the only one who has had this problem! This is either an oversight or intentional, either is unacceptable! The fact you can not see the status of your subscription within the app make me think it’s is the ladder! This is not my first rodeo. I am more than tech savvy enough to read the fine print and see if an app requires a subscription or just has it as an option along side the free service. Of course I just wanted to try it out first before making a decision on the subscription. Thankfully I had notifications on for my Apple Pay and it is easy to see your subscriptions in the App Store natively. If this was not the case I would have had a much harder time catching this and canceling due to the fact you can’t see the status of your subscription in the app. STAY SAFE EVERYONE! ...other than that the app looks pretty.
Absolutely LOVE this app!. I love this app so much! It’s great for personalized reminders and identifying plants. It will even calculate how much water your plant needs based on pot size (which isn’t super necessary but still convenient). The only thing I’m a little bummed about is that they don’t have widgets. I am terrible about checking my notifications but for some random reason i’m great about checking my widgets 😂 I have looked for other apps that have reminders like this app but none of them are as good as Blossom 🥹 PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE add widgets! Please!!!
Do not suggest. The quality of this app has really gone down since I first started using it 6-8 months ago. It no longer effectively reminds me when to water my plants — it just has stopped sending iPhone reminders. And sometimes it will say a certain number of unread water alerts, but then when I open the app the number of pending water alerts changes. It also no longer effectively keeps track of when I do water plants — I will click that I have watered a plant, but then will check again a week later and it will say “21 days late” or something absurd. I used to tell my friends how great and helpful this app was, but it’s really gone downhill with no explanation.
Great App For Beginners But Bad At Identifying Plant Problems :(. Im sure this is a fantastic app for people just starting out their plant journey as its informative, easy to use & its cheaper then many other app subscriptions like this! I would just like to say its kinda bad at identifying plant problems through pictures. I gave it a test when I saw one of my plants given to me for Christmas randomly have mealy bugs after coming back from vacation. I snapped a picture & It had no idea. It said no problem detected as you can easily see the mealy bugs chilling in the picture. Thats my experience, hope many of you have a better one. I would say its not for plant experts as we know a problem when we see it. Just ask Google.
Not as expected. Although I found some information helpful, about light and water. I was unable to get a proper identification of more than a few plants. This means I am unable to find the exact information I need for optimum care. Since I believe I have a brown thumb, I need every bit of information, even what some would take for granted as “general knowledge”. This may very well help many others, just not exactly what I needed. I do like the illustrations and the content is easy to read, which makes it a shame that I can’t find enough value in it to keep using it. Thank you for the great content though.
Irritated. Ripoff. Scam.. The price of this app just skyrocketed and for what? And of course I never saw the email so was just charged $77. Nothing in this app is worth that much. The “premium plus” plan is only $30 a year so why would the “basic” package cost more? My subscription will never be renewing. What’s even more interesting, is that when you go to plan options the same plan that I was charged for still has options for $20 (what I was paying) and $10 yearly, and as far as I can tell their is absolutely no difference between them. That is what makes me the angriest. The app is a ripoff and I honestly believe they are just trying to pull a fast one on many people like me, because let’s face it, in todays world you get an email for everything and some are bound to slip through the cracks.
Amazing job. I love this app has helped me keep track of when to water my plants and when to not so that I don kill them and I love taking care of my plants it’s just calming to get to water them all but I wish we had a way to save a record of photos for each plant as a diary, that being said I would like to see the improvement on each plant as the time goes on that I can update each plant I know we have the plant notes but I use that to keep notes and photos there make it seem cramped they are useful to keep a note on what to look out for but I would like to set up a way of like a before and after type thing like a picture book
Hard to find things in the app. It is a little bit hard to find how to identify/add a plant to the room. I was looking for a pick to do that but it turns out all you have to do is take a picture and pick the prompts from there. The app does help me remember when to water my plant and I have a lot. Some of them the app requires to much water and I’m not sure if it’s the amount of light I’ve picked or time of year when a plant in the same spot gets less light. I wonder if the app takes into account the seasons
Deceptive Marketing, Consultations are an Extra Charge. I’m sure the services provided by Blossom are adequate, but I’ll never know for sure. I spent 20 minutes completing the botanist consultation form and was then prompted to pay yet another subscription fee, in addition to the initial annual premium fee, to unlock the consultation feature. I disdain deceptive marketing practices, and even more so when they allow consumers to waste time completing steps before presenting a pay barrier. The idea behind this practice seems to be “once consumers invest time completing the form, they’re more inclined to pay a second subscription fee to be sure their previous efforts aren’t wasted”, but this logic is faulty and insulting. I can’t endorse this app when the prices and fees are intentionally opaque.
Pretty useless. Don’t download! This is both pretty and useless. I downloaded it to see if it would be helpful in managing the plant watering schedules but it was basically just a calendar app. It would say when to water, but not how much and had no guidelines. It didn’t have anyway of guiding if the plants were getting enough sunlight. Google and a calendar are much better suited to plant care than this app. It is visually pretty, though. Also, I signed up to check it out with a 3 day trial and after looking through the app cancelled it after about 3 hours. I still was charged the next day, even though the trial hadn’t expired. I think they rely upon people not challenging their billing system to make money. Would not recommend.
Mild disappointment. Seems to have a wide range of knowledge about each plant available in the database. Has plant care tips and even diseases and treatments which I appreciate being a new gardener. However, a lot of things are not available in the database like different varieties of sansevieria, fern, and aloe. There are multiple varieties of these included, it’s not as much as one would expect when there is a monthly subscription fee. I wasn’t able to have everything I own included in my “garden,” and I don’t own off the wall varieties. Also, one very minor thing I find annoying as well- when you tap search it directs to a new screen to tap search a second time to actually fill it in.
Love it, but…. I love the app but the constant notifications are annoying. I like notifications once a day or if a significant change is happening, but every hour to get one that says “it’s getting warm out, check on your plants” is too much! Can there be a way to acknowledge? Or to set the frequency in the user profile. Also, when a task is completed for the day, it would be nice to move to the bottom of the list so that the ones that remain incomplete are at the top.
A few things missing. 1 where is the iPad version ? Yes I can DL the app on my iPad but it’s the phone version . My 2nd thing would be to add a function to be able to request a missing plant or be able to add one manually . Although the app has had about 95% of the plants I look for . I’d also like to be able to view my plant collection in grid form rather than a list. Those are my biggest issues other than that I love the look it’s easy to use I also appreciate the fact that when diagnosing this app gives me more of a clear answer than some of the other apps . I don’t understand the comments about their plant dying because of this app you still need to have common sense & a little accountability .
Frustrating.... I was beyond excited to get this app as I have started quite the collection of plants myself. However, many of them were bought in pre-made arrangements at the store, so I’ve always been curious what they were and how to nest care for them. So off I went and downloaded the app, then fell into the trap of the 50% off premium deal. But I’m not quite sure what I paid for, or why. So far, over half of my plants have been unidentifiable and I know for a fact they are fairly common house plants that should absolutely be on the app. Yet here I sit with little to know information beyond what I had before downloading the app and left to wonder why in the world I paid for this. I’m usually not the person who leaves reviews, but I feel like I should warn people that this seems like a waste of money.
Love it!. so, i’m only giving 4 stars bc i don’t have a subscription and therefore can’t speak on the app in its entirety. but, just off the free version alone, i really do love this app. me giving a review at all is proof of that lol ❗️this next part i mention not knowing all the features that come with a subscription❗️ i would like to suggest that a feature be added that allows the app to keep up with the local weather. i live in FL and it’s hurricane season, which means lots of rain. my plants sit outside in pots and with all the rain i’m worried about overwatering. it’d be cool if the app could keep up with the recorded amount of rainfall and then let me know if i should bring in certain plants. or if it’s a scorcher, let me know to bring them in or water extra.
Climate in my area. It would be helpful if the app had provisions for the climate in my area. I notice when setting up my plants in the plant room the highest temperature is 85 degrees I live in Arizona temperatures in my area can get up to 120 and sometimes beyond in the summer months. I would appreciate next time your updating your app you would consider this for my garden. I do appreciate you including the amount of water being included however I almost lost several plants following your water schedule. I also use your app at the garden centers to decide plants to include or not for my garden and enjoy the app very much.
Seems good, but…. So far it’s giving me 99% accuracy. Only giving it two stars because I’m sick and tired of being told that the notifications are off every single time I open the app! It’s off because I don’t care about hearing about other plants! It would be a lot better if I only got the notifications that I wanted. I seriously doubt I’ll be renewing the subscription. There is another one that’s a lot friendlier. I might end up taking away another star or two, because I hate being bullied!!! (UPDATE) Down to 2 ⭐️⭐️’s. Since you keep annoying me with telling me that notifications is off, I have to put the word out that Plant IDs got you beat on identification. I will also add that at least you’re cheaper in price for subscription.
Still charged after canceling subscription. I used the free trail and canceled the subscription 24hrs is the trial ended. I was still charged for the app the next and see an additional charge pending... That said, the overall use of the app was well and helpful. It gives much better info than other plant apps which I liked because I have a lot of plants. The accuracy on identifying the plants also seemed better than other apps. I also liked that I can set care reminders. I actually considered renewing the subscription, but after the unSauthorized charge, I’m not sure I trust them. I can’t have an app on my phone that will continue to charge me double after an ended subscription.
Fantastic App. Blossom is an absolute gem of an app for plant enthusiasts of all skill levels! As a comprehensive guide, it not only identifies plants with a quick snap of a photo (or 3) but also provides detailed care instructions tailored to each species. Its user-friendly interface makes navigating through features like watering schedules, light requirements, and growth monitoring a breeze. What truly sets Blossom apart is its engaging community and expert support that encourages interaction and learning. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just starting to explore the world of botany, Blossom is an invaluable tool that enriches your gardening journey, making it deserving of a five-star rating.
Reminders not working. Reminders aren’t working anymore. I had been using them for weeks to keep track of my plant care and for the most part, everything was good. However I checked the app earlier today, saw that I had 4 plants that I forgot to water yesterday, so they were overdue and I completed them. Other than those overdue reminders, the app showed no other reminders for today. Later in the day, I got notifications for new plants that needed watered today AND reminders to water the 4 overdue plants again tomorrow (they are on a 7-day watering cycle so this doesn’t make sense). Now I cannot rely on the reminders to know when I need to do things and I don’t feel confident that the app is tracking things correctly. Going back to keeping track with pen and paper :(
Disappointed. I was hopeful that this app would help me be more consistent with watering and care for my plants. The photo identify feature was only accurate about 60% of the time. Following the recommended care schedule has resulted in several of my plants being significantly over watered. The care reminders don’t take into account things like the size of the plant or the size of the pot, or whether it is summer or winter. It doesn’t help with things like the volume of water to put on at one time. So, strictly following the timing reminder doesn’t work. I got tired of ignoring reminders because I could tell the plant didn’t need water. I wanted to love this but I am disappointed.
Very limited catalogue. I was attracted to this app because the of the attractive branding, and I purchased a 1-year introductory offer for $10 without really checking it out, assuming that it would be like most other plant identification apps. It’s alright for very casual gardening with houseplants, but their catalogue lacks plants outside of the most common houseplants. For example, I grow citrus trees, and there were no lime or grapefruit trees in their catalogue at all. The gardening hobbyist will be sorely disappointed, as there are many plants that Blossom does not contain. I do enjoy the gardening care tips, the option to set reminders, and the option to add notes about each specific plant, as this is something unique about this app. The photo identification is not as accurate as other apps, and it cannot identify wild plants or trees, only common houseplants. I use identifying apps primarily as an aid for identifying wild plants and foraging, so this just doesn’t fit my needs. PictureThis is another plant identification app at a similar price point, and you can use the photo identification feature without purchasing a membership. It is remarkably accurate, and I have yet to find a plant that it cannot identify.
So efficient. It’s really great to have this resource. I’ve been a plant lover and grower for a long time but this really organizes things for me. With a busy life sometimes it’s easy to let a few more days go by and meanwhile my little plants are suffering for lack of water and love. So those reminders are great also I just got some great advice for my little loquat tree that I planted from a seed. And one of the botanists got back to me with full detail on how to handle the nasty critters that were eating her up. Yeah this is a great fun site and I’m learning so much and also discovering new plants to begin to cultivate.
Please add a clear all option!!. I’m loving this application and all the information I could possibly need on most of the plants I have. I’ve noticed my plants doing so much better with a better watering schedule thanks to the app. I have one request though: PLEASE ADD A CLEAR ALL OPTION - this would be so helpful since I have so many plants there are some days I don’t check the app but I know I’ll still water my plants and it’s very tedious trying to get rid of the overdue reminders when they stack up past 40+ having to clear each one.
Missing Features, Often Wrong. I really do love this app and that’s why I want to complain about it: to make it better! Some features are missing or have a weird set up, like the “Notes” for plants in your garden. It would be much better to be able to keep track of your plants with dates and pictures rather than just a notes section. And the identification feature is often wrong and there’s no way to add the correct plant or suggest corrections. I would love to see a streamlined way of keeping the app up to date and correct via crowdsourcing, like Wikipedia (but information being verified). Hope this helps!
Blossom is awesome. I am new to plant parenthood. With that said, there’s literally a MILLION different sites and social media platforms with people and articles that all claim to have “tips and tricks” or “myth busting” info, which just makes things all the more confusing. Blossom helps compile information and also tells you what is relevant for my area and types of plants I have. The date base can kinda limited, but a quick google search and you can enter in the correct Latin name of your plant and find a GOLD MINE of concise care tips. I’d recommend Blossom to other newbies like myself.
Overall Pretty Great. I love the look and that it’s easy to navigate. There are great facts and how to’s as well. Notes feature is great and I track plant photos here as well to see their growth. Reminders that you an rename and reset are fantastic too. There are some bugs with this app. Currently when I scroll through my plant garden I cannot scroll down to my first entries, it just stops the ability to scroll down. If I want to edit or look at anything about my earlier plants I have to go to all of my reminders and scroll through them until I find it - which can take a long time because I have tons of plants and tons of reminders. Again, overall great. I use the app daily.
Great app but it has gotten slow and buggy recently. I’m mostly writing this review to let the developers know that a few days ago, this app was suddenly way slower, and taking 5-8 seconds sometimes to for the screen to load a new selection I pressed on. I installed the update to see if that would help, but it hasn’t. I also updated my iPhone software to see if that would help, but it didn’t. None of my other apps are going slow like this. Please look into this issue! Thank you!
Trouble logging in. I used this app for a couple months and it s amazing, it has helped me so much in keeping my plants alive + track of their growth. Though I did recently get a new phone so i had to re download the app. I use the email I used to sign up but it says it can’t log me in. I tried several passwords and it did not work. I put pressed reset password and it said it sent me an email, I checked my email and nothing was there. I tried the option of logging in with google and it said it send the numbers to my email to verify it’s me, and I didn’t get the email. I checked my spam, wasn’t there.
Performance issues, but great for organization. For starters, I find this app tremendously useful. Reminders alone are phenomenal. That said, there are a lot of performance bugs. Every time the app is open and my phone does something else (receives a text message, goes to sleep, while I'm watering the plants, etc.) it freezes and I have to close it and reopen it. Also, whenever I try to diagnose a problem, the problem is always an "abiotic disease". I’ve sent several queries to the botanists team, but never received a response (apart from the initial message "you should receive a response within 24 hours"). Despite the issues, I am happy with this app.
Ummmm... ok. So I saw this and was like omg! What an awesome idea! Super creative... so of course I downloaded the app... to my disappointment I have to pay in my opinion a pretty big sum of money just to be able to take pictures of my plants to know what they are and how to take care of them... excuse me I have my plant nursery down the street help with that kind of stuff for free, and there are plenty of other apps that can do this for free also, this is just a more fancy one that wants to take money... I’ve never written a review before for a app but this was a waste of my time! Seriously 3 pictures for free then you have to pay? I deleted this app in a matter of 30 minutes sorry.
Great premise, not helpful if you’re not a subscriber. I must have been on an older version previously and that one worked beautifully without constant hounding to upgrade to the Subscribers version. This time I opened it to try and identify a specific type of Viola, and not only did it give my a different plant, it then pushed me to subscribe. I don’t recall dealing with that before. I would have no problem paying for a good plant ID app upfront (after a trial use of say 20 ID’s) but to ask for $6.99 a month when I have yet to see an accurate ID, is too steep for my budget. I like the functionality of it and it’s user friendly for less tech savvy patrons, but I will be deleting it- since it’s virtually useless for my needs. If you want to pay for plant care reminders etc... the. This is a good app for you.
What’s the point?. The app itself functions and looks fine but it has absolutely no point from what I can tell. It doesn’t tell you a ton about plants nor does it have very basic things like...different species of spider plant to choose from. It also doesn’t help you troubleshoot when your plant is sick or dying. And its reminders are never adjust if you miss a water or are late. You could easily do everything that is “offered” in this paid app in Notes and Reminders. If you prefer a separate app, I understand that but this is just an app without purpose that clutters my phone. If I were going on usage alone, I would give it 0 stars but since it is a functioning, usable app - I felt that would be unfair.
