Blockudoku - Block Puzzle Game Comments & Reviews 2026

I used to love this game. I have played this game for years. I loved the daily challenge, I enjoyed working on the self determined game, but then something changed. It started on my phone. I opened the app one day and all of the sudden I was forced to play a new version with flowers and bushes. I wasn’t given an option, and I really don’t like the experience. I can’t even tell you exactly why, but I detest the flower version. So, I deleted it off my phone. I still had the game on my iPad and it was the same old version, so I at least had that. Yesterday, I opened my app, ready for my relaxing daily challenge, and what has corrupted my iPad you ask? The new non-negotiable flower version. I finally reached out to help, saying I detest the flower version and how do I go back to the plain version? “Oh, there’s no way to do that, we understand change is hard, but this is what you have now…” Really? My husband is still playing the old version on both his phone and iPad. And I’m sort of curious who thought the flower version was better and why game players couldn’t have an option, given both games still exist. I don’t mind change, but the new version isn’t better to me. Visually it’s annoying to my eyes. I can’t say if the annoyance is due to the stupid flowers, or to the complete lack of choice. What I can say is that I’ve now deleted it off my iPad and will go find a new game. One that doesn’t make me angry to play.

Very enjoyable. I could play this game all day! It’s very addicting. The best part is that I don’t have to race the clock to get to the goal. There are other games that I enjoy just as much but without paying they make you do it within a certain amount of time and the time they set is too quick for me. They give you an option to watch a video for more time but it’s still not enough. I prefer a game that gives me as much time as I want to finish it. For me this game is the best one. I can actually relax because I’m not being timed. I HOPE THAT NEVER CHANGES. My only problem is that the longer I play the game the hotter my phone becomes. As I said, I could play this game all day but after 45 mins or so I have to stop and put it in the freezer for a few minutes to cool it off. If anyone can tell me what the problem is I would appreciate it. And if it’s not something on my end then I would appreciate it if the problem could be fixed.

I miss the old game. I've been playing Blockudoku (amongst other games by the same developer, but this one has been my favorite) for a few years now. I love puzzle games and I love that this one is so simple, I have ADHD and it helps keep me focused when need to listen to something. In a somewhat recent update (within the last few months) they started adding stuff to the daily puzzles. Now instead of reaching the target score, you have to do stuff like clear all the bubbles, or the flowers, or collect x amount of colored shapes. I don't like it as much now. I expected it to just be part of a spring holiday event, but it's still here. I played all of the daily puzzles for the last 2+ years until they started adding this. I haven't played in over 2 months now. I understand why some users would like the change, but I do not. I just want to get to a simple target score. Some of those were difficult enough as is, without the use of extra objectives, and I loved it. I miss it very much. I find the endless mode too boring for my ADHD, but the bubbles and stuff are too much. To the devs: Maybe you could keep these as part of the seasonal sets of challenges (like right now there's one up for Mother's day). You could swap the bubbles and bushes out with stuff depending on what season or holiday it is. Change it to snowballs for winter or something. That way players still get new stuff added regularly, and simple players like me can still enjoy a new daily challenge.

Was fun until the tournament.. I enjoy playing this game a lot and was surprised by the tournament. So, I joined it. I was completing well being the #2-4 player in the tournament up in till there was about 3 day 6 hours left. Then it all went to hell!! The game crashes so much my phone started to have issues. Like my battery that would last me playing the game almost alday would last maybe 2-3 hours. Game crashed so much that it would take 10-15 minutes to make a move then the game would crash and reset the move, which might that 15-20 restarts of the app to replay the move again. The for some reason my screen name was changed from Xwoive to Concerned Weasel, and my ranking was removed on my iPhone back to just entering the tournament from 2 place. When I had to switch to my iPad Pro which was working even worse than my iPhone, I saw that my ranking and name where still at 3rd place. I also found that in settings is a prank mode In the game. I just want to play and not deal with crashes, pranks, this is app ticking me off!

Rare review. The last time a reviewed an app was over ten years ago. But this game is so frustrating that I had to write a review in the hopes that the developers are listening. Let me start off by saying that the game is good. I even spent the money to remove the ads. But after playing it far too many times, I have concluded that it is not a great game because of one large problem. It’s fun for the first half of a game: you build your strategy, getting blocks to fit “just right” and then after about ten minutes, it becomes impossible. It’s as if the algorithm knows which blocks you need and instead gives you blocks you cannot use, thereby causing a rapid end to an otherwise enjoyable experience. It seems as if the 4,000 point mark (which takes about 10 minutes to achieve on average) is when the “evil algorithm” kicks in and does you in. Lest the developers think I am just complaining, I am offering up a suggestion: make the game more like Tetris in two ways. First, allow the player to rotate blocks. Second, show the player a preview of the next three blocks. Without these changes, this remains one of the most frustrating games I have ever played.

app appearance. this is a game i play regularly, it’s a big part of my nightly routine. i’ve always enjoyed block puzzles and this is such a good game. especially without the ads, it’s something simple that i have a fun time playing and unwinding to. whether on long car rides, waiting in line, or falling asleep—this is my go to game. HOWEVER, within the recent update (i assume) they changed the app appearance. i was a big fan of the wooden look for dark mode (iphone), and that is always what i’ve played on. the bright mode setting has always been too harsh, especially since im mainly playing this game at night. but the app no longer has an option to change the appearance of the game. there is one option, the bright mode setting and i dislike it. i’m hoping in a future update the developers will put back the ability to change the app appearance or give the ability for customization options. besides that, this is the only complaint ive had in my 4 years of playing this game!!!

Not a fan of recent design changes. Have been using this app for several years, I’ve loved playing the daily challenges and seeing my progress (checking off each day, earning a trophy), but – I HATE the new cheesy graphics that have recently been added. The reason I liked using the app was because the game board was very simplistic and visually unstimulating, making it a great way to relax during the day or wind down before bed. It now looks and plays more like a child’s game and the random cheesy graphics ruin the meditative aspect of the game. It also seems like the goals are becoming much more simplified and less challenging, which is also a big disappointment, as they feel less intellectually stimulating and there’s no payoff/feeling of accomplishment like when you finally beat a game after a few tries. I really hope the developers figure out a way to maintain the original minimalist design aesthetic, and keep an option with more challenging gameplay, or else I will be uninstalling the game after I catch up on my remaining daily challenges with the original design/challenging gameplay. :/

Favorite game. This is literally my favorite game and I play it for hours on a daily basis because it's really relaxing and just kind of mindless enough that I can play and watch TV at the same time or just relax in bed. That being said, while I do enjoy the new updates I also hope that they decide to make separate modes because recently a ton of new puzzle pieces were added and while it's nice because it adds another challenge it's also a problem /because/ it adds challenge. I preferred it when the blocks were simpler and I didn't have to watch out for like a million combinations. Now there's so many shapes that my board fills up too quickly and the game ends too soon. I'm not saying that the new pieces should be removed completely, but I think they should add modes based on difficulty so people like me can play more casually. Over all it's a great game though and I'm glad it updates frequently. :)

I'm done. Goodbye, see ya, adios!. What happened to this game? The Daily Challenge used to be fun and a bit challenging, but the difficulty has been changed so much that now it's a chore. I find myself spending far too long each day (more than I used to) just to try to complete it. As many, MANY reviewers have said, the "features" added recently are intrusive. The percentage pop-up every time just gets in the way, and the fact that it can't be disabled (which the developers have noted in response to many negative reviews) just makes it worse. A good developer would take players' suggestions into account and do something to improve their app or game, but that doesn't seem to be a priority here. Why has an Undo option not been included? As I noted in a previous review, having to be connected in order to start the Daily Challenges on the first of every month is ridiculous. After all the changes and so-called "improvements", I am deleting this game from my device and not looking back. I'll have more time each day to do better things, and the developers won't be getting any money from me from the incessant ads.

Good but a few tweaks would be nice. Honestly I am addicted to this game but would really like more options for the color themes/schemes. The recent update removes the setting feature and I only have the option of white and Blue. This hurts my eyes and really want the darker background back. If we could add OTHER COLOR COMBINATIONS THATD BE EVEN BETTER. Specifically the Board/background be BLACK, and block be maroon red for this of us who want to play at night but even the brown background is still to bright with the phones brightness practically OFF. I would love to see a back/undo because there have been many times my finger slips and I’m screwed with the placement, or instead of sets of three do sets of 5 or a continuous backfill of blocks to place. Would you consider having a relax mode of BLACKOUT where all pieces given fit inside the whole board and once a 9block are set they stay there? Thank you and keep up the good work.

Highly addictive , Highly frustrating. While I love this game for the simplicity and challenges, I’ve also grown a deep hatred for it. For starters, 5 long tiles? C’mon now... I have had certain games where I’m on fire till my next set of moves require a 2x 5 long tile, 4 long diagonal tile and completely just slaps my ego to the ground and constantly stomps it to the ground with its size 24 boot. I wish we were given the option to rotate or maybe just re-roll a new set of tiles (Please don’t add this as an in game purchase-able refill type option). I love this game and think its awesome through & through, but it’s just so frustrating when i know my move sets are perfect but get hit with such obscurely difficult tiles. Anyways, hope to see some updates soon cause this game is great. Hate to see another phone shaped hole in my wall because of the inability to change the outcome of such a great round ruined by that obnoxious 5 long, 4 diagonal, C/U (Backward/upsidedown) shaped tiles.

Developer lost the plot. This used to be my daily go to game because it was structured and helped my ADHD brain relax. This and Number Match from the same developer. Now after years of playing these games, one has already been deleted from my phone and now this one is going down the same path. I understand tweaking and updating the apps. But you have to be completely bananas to think abandoning the gameplay that made the game what it was, is an improvement. It’s stupid and insulting. If you want to add a new way to play the game, go for it. But don’t remove the part that made the game successful in the first place. You’ve now ruined two of your products and you’ve alienated users like me - users who pay to remove ads. Whoever is making decisions for this company needs to be fired and replaced with someone who doesn’t have contempt for their customers. As of now, I have contempt for you and will go out of my way NOT to get any of your products because you are not trustworthy, and that’s 100% because of your actions and your complete disregard for the complaints and concerns of your clients. Edit: the developer response is yet another copypasta that’s virtually identical to all the other responses. With no care for the users. Don’t insult my intelligence by giving a non-apology apology where you admit no wrongdoing and give a “sorry you’re dissatisfied” response - which is a common and sociopathic way to deflect criticism. I honestly and truly hope you go out of business.

HUGE increase in ads making this unplayable. I don’t know what happened in the last week or so, but you’ve made what was my favorite app nearly unplayable. I play games like this both for fun AND as therapy for recovering from a brain injury and related side effects. I’ve been so thankful for this game, and honestly I was glad there were some ads so the developers could make some money but I wouldn’t have to pay. Then the other day I opened the app and I was fed an ad NOT only before a round and after the round, but the game was interrupted to feed me one in the middle of playing! I never write reviews, but I was just playing the event and it happened again, before it opened the round, ONE move before I finished it, and then again after I hit the desired point total. It’s so completely jarring to the thought process to stop you in the middle. I should say that in addition to more than three times the number of ads I’m suddenly seeing, the ads are almost all three times as long! They used to be :05 second ads but now are :15 or more. I’m getting so distracted by them all that the benefits I used to get by playing are now essentially all lost. I don’t know why you’d do this, but please be aware that it’s absolutely being noticed and if you’re not already, you’ll be losing people if you don’t do something about it soon.

Game has changed. This had been my favorite game for a long while. Recently it was changed to higher goals and much harder games. In the past, it was a fun wake-up challenge for the day and exercised the brain to start the day off in a positive way. Recently it has become more difficult and is now an exercise of frustration. I understand there might be players that want an extra challenge but could you not have kept your game as is and developed challenging sidebars instead??? You are losing me as an avid player. As for your days-long tournaments, they are much too long to hold interest - perhaps a one day tournament would be more fun???? It is almost as though someone entirely different is running this app, or a new philosophy has arisen. Please, scale it back to old times. Your fun app has suddenly taken a dive and I no longer look forward to it with my first cup of coffee. JUST CHECKED - I won a daily award trophy for 11 months in a row and just this week have had 2 days of puzzles that I cannot finish. That is not a coincidence - this is not a change in my mental aptitude - it is a way that the developers have changed the game, and I just reduced your review stars to one. I am not pleased with this change. Will someone at easy brain please give me an honest evaluation of what happened?

Ads in free version are disturbing. I’ve had this game on my phone for almost a year and I love it. I have the free version because I’m a graduate student scraping by on student loans. The ads for other games that pop up are so disturbing that it makes me want to delete the game. Just a few minutes ago, an ad popped up for a game where a mom and infant come home to find the husband in bed with another woman. She packs her bags and leaves. Her new home is in terrible shape so the game is you fixing up the place, but you have the option to let them freeze to death. In fact, that’s how the game is advertised: you get to watch the mom and infant shiver as the designer puts snow around them and leaves a gaping hole in place of a broken window. This is just one of about 3 or so other games like this advertised on the free version of Blockudoku. It’s repulsive. Is the marketing strategy to upset players with these ads so much that they buy the game? I sincerely hope not. 3 star rating because the game itself is great but the ads bring the rating way down.

Great but one issue. Look I highly enjoy this game. As a disabled combat veteran it helps me to focus on something other than the pain and the PTSD from combat. I even paid to remove the ads it was so good. However, recently they added this one feature that has started to make me not want to come back as often, and I’m assuming it’s a bandwagon thing but it’s one of those “let me show you a percentage of people who only made it passed this puzzle cause they are better than you are” sort of thing at the beginning of each puzzle, even when you have to restart the puzzle. This function…. And this function alone…. drives my anger scale up and over the boiling point beyond reason and I hate being compared to others. Especially when it comes to my intelligence. So as a paid customer and a long time fan of the game, I’m not asking you get rid of the feature, I’m sure there is some Masochist out there who enjoys the challenge but could you add in a setting under the cog wheel for the rest of us who don’t want to see that garbage? Even if it’s just for paid customers like myself? It’s just a small feature. A small on/off switch. Nothing more. Please and thank you!

Different scoring???. A few of my friends and I play this awesome game. My high score is 2600 after a few weeks of playing. Most my friends scores are similar. I told coworkers to get it too and one of them got 3100 under 5 minutes on the first game. We thought he was a genius….but then I watched him play the second game and right away noticed the scoring is not the same as mine. He placed 3 first blocks and had a core of over 150 without getting a combo. Then he hit a combo and had 380 - all in a span of under 1 minute. I played a game and got a few points for placing blocks and a few dozen for getting a combo- the scoring is off. Another person downloaded it and was also getting those high scores. Another downloaded it and got my scoring system. What’s happening? It seems like it’s adding a zero to their totals! We played a came next to each other and it was evident the scoring system is off.

Please change back the graphics. I play this game everyday and have been playing it for 4 years. I took an exam this morning and to calm myself down after, I decided to play my daily challenge. Words cannot describe the horrid I felt when I opened the app to see my beloved graphics changed to some corny looking (excuse my language) bull****. This app is something I have used to destress for years and now I can’t even look at it. Please change it back. 6/5 stars before this update now it’s a 2/5. You should be glad I’m giving it a 2/5 because it deserves a 0/5 but I love the game so much that you get 2 extra stars. Change it back or every week it goes by without getting changed, I will decrease a star. I am so upset that I have lost control of myself and do not know what to do. Does this mean I need to find a new game? Do I need to change my career path? Do I need to fix my car windshield? Am I even a person or are we living in a simulation? I am spiraling and need help, help that can be given with a change back to the old graphics. Please, help me become a good person again. Thanks for the great 4 years.

RIGGED! This WAS a great game until a few weeks ago. I’ve loved playing this game, until it was recently updated. Prior to the update, I was able to score over 17,000 points at my highest, and multiple times over 10,000. Now it’s almost impossible to score over 4,000. I say almost because I’ve been able to get a little over 5,000 since the update. Basically what happens now is you reach around 3,500 points and the game stops giving random pieces and just gives you a bunch of garbage pieces until you lose, typically between 3,700 and 3,800. It is so frustrating, and it feels like having a video game where you are stuck on an infinite loop of level one. I don’t think I’ve ever wrote a review for an app, but after reaching out to support (crazy, I know), and hearing back that they are sorry that I don’t like the update but that they did it for the enjoyment of all players, I’m just frustrated enough to be writing this. I can only imagine the idea is to close the performance gap between players as it relates to tournaments or something, which I never do. As long as you are new to the game and can’t break 3,000, you might still like the game, but once you cross that threshold, get ready because the game wants you to lose.

Hi devs! PLEASE bring back a dark mode.. This is *the only* game I’ve played for years, and I play it daily. I paid to remove ads years ago and have loved that decision. Blockudoku is calming, simple, and uncomplicated; it doesn’t have those annoying “gamey” graphics that bounce and shine and look cheap in other games. The latest update was a disappointment on that front. I see the graphics start to move in the “flashy” direction of other games, and I’m hoping we don’t go further along that path. But the big one: Why oh why would you remove the dark mode?! PLEASE bring it back. I can no longer play to soothe my mind as I wind down for the day. The entire screen being bright white is too much, even when the brightness is all the way down and I use multiple iPhone settings (color filters, reduce white point) to try to compensate. It’s just unusable. I don’t want it to be this way. Can we expect a restored dark mode in the next update?

Dark Mode Work Around. I have loved this game for several years. Playing it every night was the Sun and Moon of my evening routine. It used to have a couple of display themes you could choose from. Since the default white is too bright for my eyes (even when dimmed), I used the wood theme. Unfortunately, it was removed recently. When I asked why, they said it was because not many people used it. I asked if a dark mode will be made available and they said they were looking into it. But alas it has yet to be prioritized to even receive an expected release date. In an attempt to regain my nightly ritual, the lack of which has plagued my sleep pattern for weeks, I have discovered a way to invert the colors for iPhone. So, for those of you also betrayed by the blinding white background, go to the accessibility settings and turn on smart invert whenever you are playing it. The background will be black and the blocks will be yellow. I look forward to my sleep schedule finally returning to balance. And giving this 5 stars when dark mode is released!

new update to gameplay and too many ads. There's been a new update to the gameplay that includes things like popping bubbles, destroying bushes, etc., which I can understand how some people might like, but I really hate. It has made it into an entirely new kind of game, I played blockudoku for the simplicity of the game because my brain really liked how it worked. Now I find it completely unplayable. It's clear not enough thought went in to how this new game mode would work, and there's absolutely no way to play the older version of the game. I would be okay if gems/bubbles/bushes were a part of a different game mode that still allowed you to play the old game but right now I find it unplayable. Not to mention there's been a HUGE uptick in ads over the past few months, I understand needing ads to keep an app free, but at the same time, ads that used to be 5 seconds when you opened the game/after finishing a level, but now are 15+ seconds long and will interrupt you mid-level and on every screen you click to, it's ridiculous. I put up with the uptick in ads because it was my favorite game, but they've practically erased the game I've loved and have been playing for over three years, I see no reason to stick around.

Great Game, but too too many ad interruptions during the game.. Use to be a great game that I g free, that I rated at 5 Stars. But, the number of ads has gotten absolutely ridiculous. Now instead of a few add w between games, there are interruptions during a game with ads./ and they are so numerous that they are absolutely annoying…. And, I have decided to stop playing what was a wonderful, challenging, and fun game. I will also be deleting it from my iPhone…… Sorry, but the ads have become very annoying! Is this business of interruptions of the game play with ads, instead of having the ads between games . Strategy to get more people to buy your game? Not very honest ….. You initially sold the game as being free with ads between games …. Now annoying the players with ads in hope that they will but the game. It would have be much more honest to have simply offered the game at a much lower price with no ads at all. The buy numbers would likely have been much higher. I don’t appreciate the trickery …. So I’m deleting the game, and using the $4.99 (no ad price) you are now offering, to buy this or another game From someone else. Integrity counts in selling games !!!!

Ads are false, but real game is good. Good game but the ad / commercial for the game is completely inaccurate. I’ve had this game for over a year, the ads show you trying to match shapes into a variety of different larger shapes. In the actual game it’s always a big square you are filling. Nothing is ever being fit into a triangle or other shape like the ads. It’s basically a simple game, you get shapes like Tetris and play and clear rows or columns or group of 9 squares. Some challenges start off with prefilled areas you have to clear. Some prefilled areas have numbers so you have to clear that many times before the blocks are cleared. Your game is over when you have no place to put one of the three blocks in your available tray. But to reiterate…the ads are completely not what the game is about. I find many game ads are false advertisements. If you think people want to play the advertised game why not just make that game??? Silly marketing if you ask me.

Love it!. Hello there! I absolutely LOVE this game!!! I’ll sometimes be getting in trouble for playing it so much 😂! Not much ads like other games, it also challenges your mind! It’s really fun!!! And everyone else, I’m not a bot lol don’t think I’m giving this good reviews cuz I’m a bot 😂. I have a suggestion though! (I don’t know if you have this or not if you do I apologize) There should be a worldwide challenge “Ring” and see who can get the highest score in let’s say.. 3 minutes! And 5 people per round? I don’t know why this came in mind, but I thought it could put more challenge into the game..... There is only one very small issue I have. Sometimes when I go to place a block, and I’m not done finishing where I’m going to put it; it places on its own. It mainly gets me a little frustrated, but then I usually just put it behind me. But then it happens again. And I’m getting a little more frustrated.... that’s all I have for now! Thank you for taking your time to read this review! ^^

Changes are not improvement. I have been playing this game since 2019. I have loved the challenges of fitting pieces into the board. Some puzzles have taken me a long time to finish but getting the daily puzzles completed is something I love to do. I have earned the trophy for every month beginning November 2019 through January 2024. The new change with bubbles and gardens to clear are a complete change in what the game has been, and not for the better. I want to think about the shapes and the puzzle and clearing the 9x9 grids not having to worry about additional things. If I wanted those challenges I would go play something like Township or Gardenscapes. If these extra items like bubbles and gardens are now going to be part of Blockudoku I see my days of playing this game to be ending. It is interesting to note that the only positive reviews are one line and appear to be paid or bots. I checked today to see if the developers came to their senses. I just don’t understand why they wouldn’t keep the game that people loved and launch something new if they want the changes that it appears most people hate. Oh well. At this point I am walking away.

Enjoying it. I thought this game was more like Tetris. I love the fact that i can place the objects wherever I want on the block, but wish I could rotate the pieces also to fit in. I had previously thought the ads were too long, but the developer very helpfully explained to me that the right arrows and the plus signs were a way to eliminate the ads after 5 secs. I am very appreciative for their help, and did thoroughly enjoy playing the game this morning. Update: I am getting very frustrated with the amount of ads in this game. It wasn’t this bad before. I can understand that I have to go through an ad when I lose a game quickly, even though a just had to go through ads a couple of minutes before, but when I am close to the targeted score, and my game is being paused for ads, it is frustrating. ESPECIALLY when the ad freezes the game and when I come back in, it restarts the game! Which just happened again this morning, a week after the update that supposed to have stabilized the game. How can I enjoy the game when at any minute, it can be paused for an intrusive ad?!!!

Love the game.... ....but hate all the ads. Would pay for it to get get it add free. Okay, heard from the developer. You can remove the ads for a payment of $4.99. Well worth it to me. Can play forever with no ads! Life is good! Looks like I got excited too fast. I paid for the cancellation of the ads on my iPad and expected them to come off my iPhone as well. After all, when you get the app, it shows up on both platforms regardless of which one you ordered it on. Imagine my surprise when I opened the app on my phone and the ads were back. Have written to the developer but if I have to play two times to play without ads, I will cancel the charge with the credit card company and remove the app from my iPad and iPhone. Buyer beware Okay, I was contacted by someone who explained how to get it ad free on my iPhone and iPad. Very easy to do. So as I said originally, I just love this game!

There’s a need for ad revenue, and then there’s…. Quite frankly, beating a dead horse isn’t putting it right. An ad before every first game (of daily puzzles, of story puzzles, and of general blockudoku) AND after most levels unless you break the all time high score I’ve found. The game is just a front for ad revenue, and if you go into airplane mode, you can’t do the daily puzzles or the story mode because oops! You need to download those for whatever reason. I’m not spending money on a phone app either so I don’t want a shallow developer response that says “Hi! Apologies for interrupting your game with ads. We'll work towards making your experience more enjoyable. Also, we cannot remove all ads as we need to support the app, and ads give us a chance to make the game available to everyone for free. If you wish to stop all ads, you can do that for a small one-time fee in Settings.” Because you definitely can decrease the frequency and also make the game airplane mode compatible, unless you plan on adding a multiplayer online mode. While I’m at it, why DO I need to download the daily and story puzzles? Aren’t they pretty pre-determined?? I feel like it’s a cash grab that’s hiding behind the ruse of a game.

More Tournaments!. I have the paid version of this game and those complaining about ads have a free version and should just upgrade instead of leaving a bad review because they are cheap… I’ve played this game almost daily for at least a year, if not two and the only thing I’ve noticed is the tournaments appear to be less frequent. Also the events last way too long. After 5 days of the Spring event finally coming to a close I was looking forward to an tournament to pop, but instead an Easter event for the next 9 days… Ugh! While events are great practice for tournaments, I don’t really care about earning all this digital artwork that only stays in the game. I also think there needs to be a countdown banner on the main page to notify you of upcoming tournaments. The last few times I have been hours behind on a tourney and it’s difficult to make the leaderboard when you have sucky players seemingly clocking 4 hours straight (or boting) of 500 point games already at #1 with 50k points who can’t even make the Top 10 Best Score board. It might also help to set a threshold for best game score in order for someone to rank for medals on the tournaments. Otherwise, I love this game! It really helps with challenging your mind and part of my daily brain health.

It was fun, average game now. So, my fiancée and I have been playing this game since December 2019. In January her app updated to the new pieces and it turned a pretty cool game into something I’ll say is average. Now three months later my app updated to the new pieces (I bought the app to avoid the terrible commercials). Now I’m out the money, the relaxing game, and bragging to my fiancée about how the new game wasn’t a ploy by the developers to make more money... this is the first time I’ve had to eat my words to her. She had me write this to tell you all I was wrong, the game was better before. Today will be my last day with this app. Take care developer folks. I reduced down to two stars after receiving a canned developer response about their feel they need more and more of your money - I paid once and got good - then it was changed to presumably to get more from me. I get that your goal is to maximize your reach in to the pockets of players, but can you look to just make it reasonable and not so greedy - no one likes a greedy game. Just strike a balance at the start and let’s all just get along and have fun!

Good game, some events not so much. I still think this game is good enough that I continue to feel justified for purchasing no ads option. Just one issue... the near impossible levels in some of the events are making it so that I will no longer play them. Do what you want, but endless retries and endless bad piece offerings are not hard but an insult. Seems like a ploy to make ads run more when played with ad included version... I get it, you need to make money, but not like that... screwing with paying customers is like cutting your own throats. Hope you think better of it going forward, but doubt I will ever know as I am done with playing events. Still well done game, smooth game play, well designed and seems performant. Must be well programmed. I wouldn't mind paying for this again, so long as the price is affordable for me.

Feels like cheating. (The programming). Let me start by saying that I have loved this game for years. I have gotten every since daily challenge since 2019. But these past few months if has felt like the programming has changed. It feels like there is a set amount of times you need to try and beat a level before it will let you beat it. (I’m guessing to try and make people stay in the app longer) Doing this has changed the rewarding feeling of solving a puzzle. To now, which feels like I am fighting the game programming in hopes that the system doesn’t cheat me again. Example: Depending on the puzzle (even high score challenges) when you start everything feels regular, like it has always been. You get pieces and you figure out how to place them. But now it seems that once you get to a point, the games can see you are getting close to the goal and it will send you only bad, large pieces until you die. Which normally takes about 2 or 3 turns. I’ve been playing it enough that I can almost predict when it will happen. Please just go back to giving random pieces so it actually feels like a puzzle game again, instead of playing Russian roulette, hoping that this time the game will not make it impossible to win. I love the game. But these past couple of months it feels like a battle, instead of relaxing.

Enjoying the challenge!. Most games I see available are games of chance. If you are dealt just the right combo of cards or given great letters to spell out words worth plenty of points you are able to score enough points to beat the competition. That is how this game is so different! You have a grid placed before you and you are then dealt random shapes made from cubes. The object of the game is for you to calculate how to place them onto the grid so you have space to continue playing when the next set of shapes are given to you. If you just randomly drop the shapes in you are likely to end up losing. As you fill in one section completely most of those blocks will disappear giving you more options to “play” future shapes . I find this game to be one of the more stimulating games out there and it is currently my go to for entertainment. There are similar competitions available. Some have cubes of varying colors.

Love this game! Can I make a request?. I love playing this game when I need to just unwind my brain for a bit. One of my favorite things to do is play while I’m watching a show (on Netflix or other streaming service). My only small complaint, is that I have to make the show as small as possible in the corner of my phone, because the game screen is too spread out and the show blocks the top part of the game board. If the game could be scooted down a little on the screen, I could increase the picture-in-picture size of my show and still play without the game being blocked! Any chance the game could be formatted just a little towards the bottom of the screen instead of perfectly centered? Or, at least have an option for it in the settings? I would love to see my show better while I play! (And I know, this is such a dumb problem in my life. 🤪 But I think of it every time I’m playing, how nice it would be to get the best of both)

Not like the ads. I’m a 11 year old girl who wants your company to make a difference but before that please read my passage I got this game because a friend suggested it but I was playing another game and an ad popped up for this app, saying that there was a feature that could test ur IQ but there’s not. I know other game companies do the same thing but I thought you guys were better than that. People buy a game for two main reasons 1. They see it on the App Store page or social media and 2. They see a ad. But when the company is lying about what the game is about people like me will just want to delete it. So please just be honest with you ads people might even want to get it more if you just tell the truth about what it is. Be the app that changes the whole ball game about telling the truth on ADS. Thx for reading this and please change your ads and be the different app. ❤️

Random or pre-determined?. I downloaded this game because it looked like an interesting and challenging puzzle game. While those things did seem to be true at first, it seems as if the tiles you receive are not random as the developers state. When I first started playing, I was able to achieve multiple games with scores over 1000. Now, I can not even come close to achieving that. It would be blasphemous to assume that my strategy/skill at the game has decreased, so what exactly is the reason for this? While it could be purely coincidence, I would bet that the developers purposefully created the game in such a manner that makes it essentially impossible to top a player’s high score. I have come to this conclusion through not only my experience, but the experience of other reviewers. By intentionally making the game more, players will play the game increasingly more in order to beat their high score. The more people play, the more ad revenue the creators collect. While I cannot be certain in my assumption, I am confident that this is the case. It seems unethical and, quite frankly, pathetic. The concept of this game is awesome, and I commend the developers for that. However, I refuse to overlook this stain on what is an otherwise very-well created game. I would love to hear back from the developers about the perceived randomness of this game.

So much potential. I really enjoy this game for the most part. The main complaint is for games that come with some blocks already filled in. While I agree it should be challenging, some seem impossible to complete. Using the seasonal ones as an example: I’m through two tiles / complete pictures, and I’ve been stuck on one square of the 3rd tile / picture for 3 days now. I would love to be able to finish it. Buy this one is ridiculous. I’ve probably played this one square at least 150 times and cannot beat it. To those working behind the scenes…here’s a tip: It’s satisfying to be able to complete these. Maybe have 10 people test them out and make sure they are solvable by all of them with a good amount of attempts. Right now I feel like I won’t try future ones if there are roadblocks like this. It’s a lesson in futility. (I frequently get ones where one of the three shapes is grayed out from the VERY BEGINNING! And there are no moves to open it back up. That’s messed up.)

No longer accessible. I used to love the daily challenges. It was visually accessible. Then they changed over to bushes and gems. There’s is no way to keep track of progress, so you have no idea if you are going to be playing for 5 minutes or 50 minutes trying to beat this thing. When you clear a bush, suddenly more bushes appear because it’s never made clear to you how many there were. The best part about the old version was that it was accessible to neurodivergent people and the way we think. It laid things out so logically. Now, there is no logic. I have no idea what score I am trying to beat. I have no idea what my progress is. The images are dizzying on such a small screen. It’s sensory overload. They took a perfectly good ACCESSIBLE app and made it less accessible to Disabled people. And there only response to other people who have apparently left reviews, is change is hard. I am appalled such a callous and frankly ableist response. You’re right. It is hard being Disabled when the tiny things in life that do work for you, now no longer work for you. The world isn’t built for us. But this app was originally built with unknowingly with a neurodivergent mind, in mind. And for whatever reason, y’all decided… Gems and Bushes! Who needs accessibility, right? It’s like playing Minesweeper ala big box screen MS Dos starting mid-90s computer. Way to regress I stress of progress. It’s looks like 90% of the puzzle apps out there. Nothing about it is any different now. Good job.

The new update has issues. I love this game. I’ve beaten every daily challenge since April of 2021, and in small doses I’ll likely never get tired of it. The new update was pretty cool to see, since the gameplay can become pretty 1 note after a bit of playing. However, it’s clear that the mechanics were not tuned or given enough attention before being released. As it stands, some levels are basically impossible to beat because of how the new systems work. I’m currently stuck on a level that requires you to collect 4 different type of gems, the only issue is that the level does not provide you enough gems to actually beat it. Once you clear the screen of all pre-existing gems the game is incredibly stingy with providing more gems in order to actually complete the levels. I strongly urge the developers to make some tweaks to this new gameplay so that it can be fully enjoyed and not bogged down by these striking issues These changes are a welcome addition to the game all things considered, but ideally they should be regulated to a seperate game mode and keep the existing challenges relatively unchanged.

Great but a few suggestions. I’ve played awhile and have completed the daily challenges for a year straight. I also play many of the events, but not the tournaments. Suggestions 1) add a difficultly slider. Lately the daily challenges have been way too easy and it bums me out that I beat it on my first try. Harder difficulty could mean that all of the block shapes are included— like in free play where there are U shape blocks and diagonal single blocks that aren’t included in daily or event challenge. 2) add an indicator to the daily challenge calendar for which type of challenge it is. Either numbers, bubbles, bushes, or gems. Then it’s easy to find the type of game you want to try if you go back to play old challenges. Also, please bring back the number challenge! Those were really difficult sometimes and haven’t been back since the new game types released. 3) allow replay of old challenge postcards. 4) allow playing the various challenge types in free play. (Bushes, bubbles, gems) 5) one of the screenshots in this app description has a triangle shaped board. I’ve been playing over a year and never had anything but the 9x9 square. Would love to see more unique and challenging maps! Thanks for considering this feedback. This is the only game I’ve kept on my phone for this long and that I enjoy playing daily.

Used to be my favorite. This app, for many many years, was my favorite app on my phone. I originally downloaded it based on an ad, and it was really fun. I played frequently on and off for a good deal of time. Since it was so chill, I often played before bed to fall asleep, or when I was anxious or stressed in order to relax. To call it a comfort game would be an understatement. I know that’s a lot of care to put into a game that’s so simple, but sometimes it’s just the little things that make us happy. Unfortunately, very recently they completely removed the wooden theme, which is much easier on the eyes. I have light sensitive eyes so this was a deal breaker for me, and it was super devastating. I reached out to support and they told me that the theme was gone and would not be coming back. Unfortunately because of this, I’ve gotta rate it lower. This was my comfort game and now it hurts my eyes super bad, so that was sad. :( EDIT POST DEV RESPONSE: If the game ever releases a theme that makes the game playable for me again, I will HAPPILY rewrite my review accordingly. Like I said this was a huge comfort game to me, and it would be again if I could play it comfortably!

Good except for two things.. This game is fun, and I like to play it in the mean time. But, I’ve been paying more attention to my scores more and I’ve realized that the “Days best score” notifications are random. For example, last month I was playing and my score was around 300. then, I lost. When I started a new game, I had gotten to around 250 before I saw a notification that said “Month’s best score”. I’m not sure if I’m just going blind or these best score things are random. If so, it is not a big deal, but it strange and slightly irritating. The only other problem I have is the ads. Some of them are extremely inappropriate. There was one where an “unattractive” girl was giving her boyfriend a massage, and then looked at her boyfriend to see he was drooling over some other girl that was obviously: blonde with a tiny waist and a big chest. I’m not sure how it works with this type of stuff, but if you can do anything to get rid of these weird ads it’d be great, cause kids play these games sometimes, and they don’t need to be seeing that. Other than those two things this game is fun to play and I recommend it to people who like a challenge.

Meh. August 2020: Been playing consistently now for awhile and have decided to change my rating from a 5 to a 2. There have been no significant updates for a long time. Nothing that adds to the game play or makes things more enjoyable. The bug mentioned previously had been fixed back in April but I held out hope for a sort of endless version. Now that it is August and the version history has been mostly performance updates, I’ve given up hope for any additions for game play. A real shame as I think there is potential to make this game better and more fun. Old review: Been playing for a few months now. It’s my go to zen game. Feb 14 though I was surprised to be hit with a “bug” that has made my enjoyment of the game increase over 9000. Instead of the game ending at 500 points, it allowed me to keep going. And going. And going. I got up to 9000 points and felt really satisfied with that. My normal highest is only 2900 something. Which I know isn’t very high, so this made me feel great! Please make this a mode or something. I go back to this day just so I can keep playing this “mode”. I think I’ll cry if it’s fixed or something. Please, please, please keep it!!!

Too many ads. I have been playing Best Fiends since the beginning of lockdown and I like it because the number of ads is reasonable, you only have to watch when you’ve run out of “lives” and want to keep playing. I sometimes download other games that are advertised through BF and they are always disappointing. Add another to the list! Recently I was served an ad for Blockudoku and it looked fun so I downloaded it. But the game isn’t anything like what the ad showed and you have to watch ads for other games every few minutes. I truly don’t understand the business model of these games that seem to only advertise other games, which in turn have tons of ads for other games. How do any of these games make money if they’re only advertising each other, and in the process are making their own games super frustrating and slow to play? Make a semi-decent, mind numbing game with 100 levels and I’ll pay $3.99 for it or whatever! If it’s free but I’m bombarded with ads, I’ll delete it after five minutes, which is what I did with this one.

It’s a game that’s relaxing but wait.... So I’ve been playing this game for awhile now. Especially through high school and now I actually like it. It’s relaxing, keeps me entertained and I haven’t had any issues with it bug wise. After the new update with achievements it just added onto the game. You don’t have to do the achievements but it also gives you something to do at the same time while playing. I’ve played this game in my high school classes and it’s been good. Although I give five stars I would say ads are kinda annoying. But then again for my personal case just turn on airplane mode and ads are gone. I can still listen to my instrumental music and play with no problem. For an average game that makes you stack and put certain blocks in certain places this game is one I highly recommend to anyone who wants a free but good game.

Algorithm changed 👎. I used to love this game and enjoyed trying to play to beat my all time high score of 11k. But then I noticed it is near impossible to score over 4k. Starting around 3.5k, the algorithm is biased against the player and starts giving you tiles that make it impossible to get much over 4k. At first, I thought this was just me… I probably played over 100 games, and the highest score was 4.1k. This is very different from how it used to be, where I could maybe get 6 or 7k before losing. So, I searched online to see if other players were also having this problem and read that other players are having this EXACT same issue. Honestly, the app creators need to fix this issue for me to enjoy this game again. I hate leaving negative reviews on stuff, but in this case, I’m hoping the creators will listen to my request to change the algorithm back to how it used to be, because I used to really love this game. As it stands, this game is not entertaining for me anymore since it is impossible to succeed.

Good App but a few suggestions. I like almost all the features yet from a potential standpoint I think a few additional features are necessary to make it a truly A1 app. One change is to allow you to disable in settings the ability for it to glow before you place the block down so you don’t know how your decision will affect the turn. Another more important feature would be to save states. For example, if you added a third game mode for practice you should allow the ability to move backwards in plays and the only way to do so would be to keep track of the states whether that is through an array or otherwise(stack) this could even be implemented as a setting features on any game mode or in a premium version as it would be a crucial tool for learning from your mistakes! Edit: In addition look at A* search or Greedy algorithm to create a system of which blocks you generate for the turn. This should allow to integrate a difficulty setting into the game because you will know which blocks produce the most points and you can if let’s say they choose hard difficulty make sure it’s only giving them the blocks that only fit into one particular spot on the board.

Too buggy. I’m giving up on this game because it gets hung up too often. Also, it never turns off so it drains my battery if I get distracted while playing, from an email or maybe I fall asleep or something (if I’m playing it at night) I come back and the battery of my iPad is drained and that’s a real drag. Also, it gets hung up in the middle of a game, where it freezes and I can’t move the pieces, so I have to close it and reopen it and then it’s still hung up so that it places a piece where I didn’t intend it to go because of it freezing and unfreezing, and my game board is ruined! Maybe they should have the ads in between games instead of during games? Anyway I’m getting fed up so I’m gonna just gonna stop. I’m adding to the review because I gave it another chance because the developers said they are always listening to comments but now the game is interrupting games to play ads. So much for improving a game, you give us a buggy game and then make your ads take over the game. I don’t think these developers care about people and they definitely don’t know how to work with ads.

Not as advertised. The ad for this game that drew me in is misleading, as it shows block configurations dropping into grids with different outlines, as though there would be a variety of puzzles to solve, but as it turns out there’s just the same puzzle ad nauseum with the only variety being how long before your luck runs out, more or less, and it could be a source of frustration if you fixate on the score, as you can gather from reading other reviews. For me the challenge of beating my highest score is so much greater than the reward that it’s not a meaningful motivator, and I often don’t finish the game. It’s a great diversion when I have unproductive time to fill (waiting rooms, etc) but I play less and less frequently, because I get bored by it very quickly now that I feel I have reached an insurmountable plateau. I think it would be interesting if the game tracked my average score, so I could see if it improved, seems like an easy feature to include. The ads are pretty annoying as well, but the game isn’t interesting enough to pay to remove them, in my calculus.

My favorite game. This game is truly addictive. I love it. But an old issue has re-emerged recently (it has been fixed previously). When the ap is activated, any music, podcasts etc that are playing turn off and you need to then go and turn them back on once the ap is fully open. It would be great if the app didn’t interfere with anything already playing on the phone.

Was fun until the last update. I was enjoying playing this until the last update. Now you are shown the % of players that can complete each puzzle and usually it’s very low like 20 - 30%, the games have gotten much harder and it’s taken the fun away. I don’t like the frustration of redoing the same puzzle over and over again, it’s deflating. Before the update I played daily but since the update I’m only playing once a week. I go on to see if there is a tournament running and just play those. I don’t mind a challenge occasionally and I certainly don’t like games that are too easy but this has just gone overboard. To start with you are told that you will fail and that is then reinforced the longer you play. I will keep playing the tournaments though because I enjoy those still.

Great game needing one minor correction. Thanks for the game that keeping me attracted daily. I couldn’t find any other communication channel to inform you but I’ve found this inconsistency: - Complete daily challenges xx consecutive days - Log in at least one within xx days For this tracking, the number I have completed daily challenges is higher for “one” game than the number of daily logins. Technically, if I didn’t login I couldn’t have completed the game, hence your count needs to be corrected. It will be great if you can fix it please. Thanks again for a good game :)

My favourite game, doesn’t need to be rigged. When I got this game 3 years ago I fell in love. It’s been my favourite game since then. Unfortunately, it has gotten worst. When I downloaded it first after about a month or 2 and some strategy revisions my highest score was 6000 + Now no matter what getting about 3000 seems impossible. Often I’ll reach my highest score and then the next turn loads in 3 tiles that can’t be place! The game would be much funner if their was a more consistent difficulty. The main thing that should make it harder is missing opportunities to remove tiles. Trying to give a constructive review as it really is the best game on mobile.

Daily Challenges increased in difficulty. I’ve been playing this game for about 5 years and love the daily challenges. Which has usually been a target of 500 points. However in the last few weeks daily challenges have increased to 2500 points as the target to win. It’s insanely difficult. Such a shame I loved this game. Please Change it back

Really a Four and a Half. Love this game, I find it soothing to play while still challenging and it’s one of the few games I can play while still being able to listen properly to a podcast. Just engages the brain in a different way and I love it. Would be a slightly more enthusiastic review if they could just add an undo button for that moment when you stumble your orangutang fingers and drop the block somewhere other than where your monkey brain intended.

Used to be great, but has gone down hill. I play this game every night and I used to love it. Over the past month it has developed some sort of glitch where it will no longer allow me to score over 4000. Every game is easy to get to the mid-high 3000s and then it provides only non-winning blocks. I can see on discussion forums that this is a problem that multiple people are experiencing. This has really taken the fun out of the game.

You have ruined my favourite game. The advertisements interrupt the game and once the ad cycle has started you can’t return to the game. The ad content is repeating you to download yet more crummy games that would mean more interruption of these mind numbing, annoying ads. It’s disappointing… I am forced, after more than 5minutes of clicking onto the ads, which keep scrolling around repeatedly, to delete this app. Your desire to gain money from click bait style ads and keep me from enjoying your game is so annoying and time wasting. I’ll spend me leisure time doing other activities!

Very good game. I first downloaded this game a few weeks ago, and I really like the concept and how you have to match blocks to get points. It’s a very simple game and it’s not too hard or too easy. One of the main reasons I like it a lot is because there isn’t too much ads in this game, and it lets you actually play the game other than give you all these stupid ads. My highest score is only 1563 but I really enjoy playing this game and it’s kind of addictive but I normally play it when I’m bored or something.

Awesome Game👍🏽. However, when I play other games on my phone it never freezes or slow down my whole phone system. But when I play Blockudoku it keep freezing around score 1000 and whole phone system gets really slow. I am sure if their is anything you can do. Other than that really good game. Cheers

Seems rigged to make you fail at 3000. I’ve previously got high scores on this game but since i returned to playing it regularly in the last few months, it’s been impossible to pass 3000. As soon as I get anywhere near close to 2700 all the hard pieces pop up and it’s impossible to clear the board. After being frustrated about never passing 3000, i looked it up and many other people have experienced the same. It’d be great if there was a progression to the difficulty rather than an abrupt end to the game. Or an endless option so you can just keep going.

Fun!!! But easy. Hi I’m writing this to tell you how AMAZING this app is, all though this game is pretty easy it’s actually really fun! So far there has not been too many ads for me and I really enjoy playing it... this app is recommended by me and many others so if you download it make sure you give it a 4 or 5 star rating!!! Have fun! Stay safe! And be kind! Bye!!!! 👍🏼😁😊

New ad Nuisance. The recent ad thing makes playing virtually impossible. I counted 6 times a minute the ad interrupted my game. Look I know ads are necessary, and the ones before and after games are fine, but this one just pops up over and over and I accidentally tap it, causing the whole thing to crash over and over. I’ll check back in a month to see if it’s been fixed, but right now, I don’t have a choice. Im gonna stop playing.

Good game, bad ads. Overall a fun game with a nice clean minimal design. Needs an undo button, it’s frustrating when you make the wrong move and can’t fix it. Video ads are awful, they completely kill the relaxing aesthetic and they can be slow to load. Any time I play this game on holidays in a low reception area the ads basically freeze the app and I can only play in flight mode.

Issac Newton would like it a bit. If Jesus had discovered this game in Bethlehem when he was ten, he probably would not have discovered the theory of relativity, more famously now associated with Einstein. Such is the power generated by merely observing the game from afar that a swan silhouetted on an ancient lake falls into a metaphysical manifestation of intellectual resonance

Good game but SO MANY ADS. I don’t mind occasional ads in game especially when there is an option to purchase the ad free version. But there are SO MANY in this game! Multiple times in the same round that you play, you’re gameplay will be interrupted with ads. Sometimes you open the app fresh and it will open WITH AN AD before you even see anything! It honestly ruins it for me a lot because otherwise it’s such a good, zen game. What a shame.

Used to be my favourite game app. Blockudoku USED to be my favourite game app, it was simple, and put me at ease. However now with the update and the changes to both the appearance and game play it’s brought, I can’t stand it. I loved that Blockudoku was a simple game without the flashy graphics and mini events used by many gaming apps to incentivise play through triggering the brain’s reward centres. Now it replicates the strategies used by other popular game apps, that I absolutely hate. I wish I hadn’t updated the app so I could’ve continued enjoying the app I had for years.

Great idea, however. I really liked the thought of this game setup, but after the initial game there is no way you will reach anywhere near your original score as the impossible combinations you are given each time are frustrating, I’m still trying to work out if the game gets harder each time you play (I’m suspecting this is correct) but each line/square you set up will go unfinished as the chances of those pieces coming thru are pretty much zero. I won’t be playing it again, oh I did notice that when my iPad was freezing during game play, the pieces that were coming thru would flash in so fast and then change to the impossible to fit pieces. Deleting the game now..... So no fixing the impossible to fit pieces then I take it?.... Oh also I think the game would be much more improved by enabling piece rotation Thank you

Daily Challenge history doesn’t get saved to the cloud. The last app update just bricked the game on my phone. When you launched the game just stayed on a solid while screen. Killing the app, restarting the phone didn’t fix it. Deleting the app and re-installing has made the app work again but I have now lost all my completed daily challenge history. The same thing happened when moving to my new phone. Why doesn’t the daily challenge history sync with iCloud or in Game Center like the awards?

Best game. I play this game everyday. It’s like yoga for the mind. It’s elegant and understated and yet every time so deeply rewarding. I’ve played it like this for a long time. Thank you for such a well-crafted game. It’s rare to come across one so elemental and seemingly minimal in its conception but then also challenging and complex. I would love to say the rest in a support-comm but I can’t get that far. Recently it crashes every time I open it. Even before I move. I suspect it’s those little video ads at the bottom with my not-so-old-not-so-new iPad. It’s possibly outside your control but i hope there’s something you can do. I’m totally up to date with apple updates so it’s not that. Anyway this moment in time aside I want to emphasise how exceptional your game development is, especially as the skill and commitment it takes to make something so quietly beautiful isn’t always visible 🙂

Fun. It’s a really good game with no time pressure, which I like. I like the daily challenges the best as they have a score limit rather than being potentially endless like the main game. But I do miss the event games though. Are they coming back? I play a lot less often than I used to because they’re gone. Update: there’s new events now with the puzzle blocks, but I miss the leaderboard high score events. Also, could we have the feature to save daily challenge games as favourites? I really like playing that difficult game that another reviewer mentioned from late October and would be so much easier to find each time if we could save them

Great game. I love the game and I always have it on dark mode but when I went into blockadu it changed into light mode and I can't change it back to dark mode the reason I had dark mode on is because light mode hurts my eyes and I've always had dark mode on and I'm used to it but I'm not used to having light mode on. If there was an update or something that you changed it so that we can't change it to light mode or dark mode please change it so we have the option.

Hmmm (revised). Review 3. Not sure what a big score is. 3700 seemed ok. It gets easier after 800. And easier still after 2200. A suggestion... ...9 tiles in the diagonal does not trigger a clearing. I think it should. Review 2 I got the hang of it. Finally got past 1800 to 2500. That was enough. The game is easy up to about 400, then from 400 to 800 it takes some luck, after 800 the pieces offered fit more easily. I found the best way is to make lines of 9 or boxes of 9 at every opportunity. Just keep clearing the board. An undo option is something the developer should consider. ——————————— Review 1 It’s ok. Needs some options. 1. Be able to rotate/flip one piece at least to keep the game alive. 2. Need a visual (phantom view) of the piece that will replace the one to be set prior to setting. Then player can plan some strategy. 3. The randomness of the new set is a bit dodgy. It might be “random”, but it seems less so as the score gets higher. ( after 800 it gets easier) 4. I can’t find a strategy pattern to build on. I feel I should be able to learn and at least have a good guess at what “holes” to leave.

I win, you fail.... Firstly, it frequently crashes. Secondly, the developers have no understanding of human psychology and make it too hard to bother commiting to playing this for very long. It seems clearly designed to cause you to fail every time. Why waste your time commiting to them when they clearly have no commitment to you. Save yourself the bother and keep looking. This will waste your time up until the point when you delete it or it crashes and you surrender to the inevitable and decide not to load it again.

Fantastic!!. Its just fantastic that this game is so absolutely pointless with mindless people wasting their time when they could be contributing to society. You know, helping to address climate change, helping people that need a hand of simply doing something useful with their lives!

I’m being punished!. Played this for many years. In the beginning rarely scored over 500. It was tough. Nowadays I can’t get passed around 3700, no matter what. It’s become childishly simple, but when I get around this number, the game bombs me out. Spoon fed solution moves, followed by no chance moves. Wish the game was more based on skill level than Mensa brain moves. Surely all the great feedback given by players could tempt developers to think their way to a better player experience based on skill displayed.

Great but keeps dropping out!. Had this game for over a year and it is fantastic. However, recently it constantly freezes mid game and then drops out. The blocks can then be accidentally placed and this ruins the game as it means you use up spaces inefficiently. Get the fix please Blockudoku. One more criticism. The Daily Blockudoku for 22nd October is ridiculously difficult. In the three years I’ve been solving them this one is the only one I have been unable to resolve because the shapes offered simply don’t fit. It is so impossible I am close to quitting the whole app as it implies to me the organisers aren’t aware of what they’ve set. And I’m not a fool, my highest score is close to 8,000.

Love the game. Totally unimpressed and frustrated with todays challenge! The board is mostly covered and the blocks coming in are almost all random large pieces that are impossible to fit to make any squares or rows. Getting knocked out at 6% constantly should tell you that it is probably unachievable. I have played it a hundred time got to 60% a couple of time but that it! 4 days later review update: Ok so have tried since and have been able to crack this one a couple of times! Had to persevere through quite a few games to succeed! I enjoy a challenge but unwinable games take away the enjoyment.

Why make it so difficult?. I have played this game for years and have always looked forward to the daily challenge, it was a fabulous game! However, after a recent update, I’ve attempted the same daily challenge over 20 times even getting to 98% and the very next lot of blocks, non of them would fit. It has become a very frustrating game to play. If only 6% of players can complete it, why have it as a daily challenge that seems impossible to complete?

Intentionally difficult but great fun. Really enjoy the game and have a friendly comp with my friends. But the game seems to reward you with better luck the longer you have been playing. Many of us have deleted and redownloaded the game to absolutely struggle getting past just 1,000. We are convinced the more you play the easier they make it to get a higher score, maybe to hold retention on users. Still good fun. But not the same after you realize whoever spends the most time gets luckier

Good game - please bring back darker colour scheme. Hello, this is a good game for relaxing - something to occupy the brain and put worries out of mind. Could you please bring back the darker colour scheme or a dark mode? The light colours and white background in the latest version are too bright to use at night. Thank you! Kate

Frustrating ads. Writing to say how much I love playing this game and often have challenges with my partner however the ads are really starting to get super frustrating!! I get halfway through a game and next thing I’ve got an ad that comes up and when I click out of it to go back to my game I end up with a blank screen and lose my game ?? The only way to get back to playing is completely exit out of the app and then start again grrr

Addictive but VERY BAD adds. I enjoy the game but the adds are not only far too repetitive but often offensive or overtly violent. The feedback option allows reporting sexually explicit content but there is no option to report the excessively repetitive and excessive severe violence only an option to report that they are repetitive. Other adds do not close but only restart.

Ruined what was a fun little game. Just wanted a little game to play while listening to other stuff, and this app has gotten progressively worse and worse. Firstly, where’s the Dark Mode? Not everyone wants their retinas seared off at all times. Why isn’t there an option? Secondly, the game used to be simple, and then they added a bunch of dumb bells and whistles which didn’t make the game better, just more intrusive and annoying. Thirdly, and this was what tipped me over the edge, they’ve just added the most incredible panopticon of ads and trackers and data aggregators. For what, a puzzle game? Scrolling through the list of ad tracking companies left me thinking these guys are truly taking the Mickey. Are you serious? It’s a firm no from me. I’ll go and find another game to play.

It is less enjoyable now.. Since the changes to include flowers and shapes, the number of ads have increased significantly. I used to enjoy spending about 15 minutes a day on a puzzle, but now it is closer to an hour. I don’t have that many hours in the day to waste. Especially when all the ads, when a failed game resets, go for longer than the playing time of the game. Instead of gaining revenue from ads, I will be one less statistic for you to count.

Good but frustrating. It’s a fun game and a great concept. However it kills your battery and more annoyingly the mechanics for new blocks does seemed rigged to cause you to fail and have to start again. The developers have claimed the blocks are random but it doesn’t feel that way. It would be good as you progress that you received tools eg. 1) choose a shape you want 2) remove a shape you don’t want to use 3) only once you fail does it show tool options to continue Eg. After every 500 points a popup occurs and you can choose your desired tool. Reward players for progressing. Could also make bigger milestones. So once you hit 5000 points you can choose to wipe the board but it removes 1000 points etc. You could actually do that with all of the tools. If you use a tool to allow you to keep going it will impact your score and so you choose the reward and weigh up against the cost. All of the suggested ideas shouldn’t change fundamental game play too much compared to explosions on the board etc.

Play for a Year only. Played this game since launch and have done every daily challenge. Even the ones they retroactively added to the months before the game launched. Game works on Flight Mode with no ads. Recently noticed that the daily challenge actually just repeats itself every year. So its good, play it for a year worth of dailys. Then delete it.

Great game ruined. Have enjoyed this game for a long time but have to say with the most recent updates and changes to bushes and bubbles it has become ridiculously hard on some days, and the harder the puzzle the more adds you get, might be time to delete and find something else that is challenging but not near impossible at times.

New update ruined it. As an older person with eyesight challenges, i have enjoyed my daily game for over 3 years. Sadly, i can no longer play as i just cant focus properly on all the colours and the busy screen is too much. Reading other reviews, i see your response that you are unable to revert to the previous version. So, i will sadly delete one of my favourite games. Thanks for the memories.

Used to love this game but……. Now there are so many ads I really can’t be bothered playing it. There is an ad when a game finishes and another before the next game starts and if you pause too long, there are ads in the middle of the game. Seriously I understand they are free but the ads have forced me to think about deleting this game and get a version not made by Easybrain. 😡

Ads are excessive. Too many ads. I get that you need to have ads to make it free but the ads are literally outweighing the play time. I just clicked through two different ads at the end of a game, hit start for a new game and another ad pops. Start or game, mid game, end of game, start of a new game. If you’re stuck on a level or it’s hard so you keep failing you’re literally pummelled with ads. It’s painful. Surely you can say “if they’ve watched an ad in the last 5 minutes we won’t make 3 more pop”. Surely one add in every 5 mins of play would be ample?? I love the game but have started to look for an alternative in the ap store because the excessive ads just ruin it.

The best game ever created, but.... I am obsessed with this game. I play it every day to kill the time. I was happy to pay the extremely ridiculous $8.00AUD to remove the ads, as it gives me hours of entertainment. HOWEVER; this game is completely rigged and is created for you to lose. I’ve been playing tetris-y games my whole life and consider myself a very strategic block placer. I gained one very high score of 5,000+, but have never been able to get anything over 2,500 since. Whenever the game is going well, blocks are given to make it difficult. Great, I love a challenge, however.. the blocks flick around when deciding and you can see them go from decent blocks, to intentionally choosing blocks that deliberately won’t fit and fail you. After dozens of hours of playing this game, I am positive this is the case. This is making it so much less enticing to want to continue to play, as most games now I can’t get over 400?! Though when I first started playing I was getting much higher scores consistently. Please fix this. Thank you, A very frustrated puzzler

Freezing and lag. I liked the game but had to turn wifi off to play as the game lagged Pieces were like jumping off my move into another area I think the game either has a bot problem or like has been said in other accounts of game you have a system people can’t beat my highest score was 3800 approximately that was a fluke for sure and I had turned my wifi off . I give 3 stars for fun and 5 star 🌟 for frustration

Infuriating. This game is 90% luck and 10% skill, I’m usually great at these kind of games but for some reason only ever had 1 score over 4000 and most the time I can never get anywhere near that score. So many other reviews say the game is rigged but I think it’s just made in a way where it’s intentionally difficult all of the time. It would probably be a much better game if they changed the mechanics to gradually increase its difficulty over time and not be just master level difficulty from the moment you start a new game. I hope the developers do something because like the games got great reviews but everyone seems to think it’s rigged and yeah if a tonne of people are paying $8aud to get the ads removed then I’m sure the developers can definitely afford to fix the game or make it better.

great but. I used to play this game everyday, i loved it. It was so fun to just sit and play especially after a long day. Only problem is that in the new update the visuals of the game are very different and look ugly. the wood option and neat blue and white option were much nicer before! Due to the new updated visuals, i have now stopped playing as my eyes are in so much visual distress. Otherwise great game. but please. my eyes.

Big fat bug. So frustrating. When the ad for clockmaker comes on, you wait for it to finish and click on the cross but as often as not, if you are not accurate enough, the game loads then you click on done and the game goes away and you have a white screen, even if you go and do something else and come back to it, the screen is still white. You may see the logo for a second or the welcome back when you come back but then no game. Otherwise a good addictive game, that is, when you can play it. MW

Ads. Having been playing this game for ages. Used to only get ads at the end of game, which I completely understand. But now before, during and end of game. It is becoming frustrating because you are half way through a daily challenge and it goes to an ad. What the? Totally understand ads. When playing daily challenge though you get ads before, during and twice when finished. You press restart game and get more ads.

Game is good, the ads are off the chain. I know they need ads, clearly as it’s a free game, but they have ads that you have to exit multiple times out of and always with a time close button, that when you miss (almost every time) it takes you to the ad download page. Some ads just go round with no exit, so you have to close app.

Crashes when new features are added. Love this game when it works but I find it frequently crashes when new features are added. A Christmas feature has been added and the ap no longer works - I can’t even get the main screen. I can’t even access the help feature in the ap. Frustrating but it seems I’m not the only person it’s affecting. But when it works, I love it! Please fix the bugs soon!

Very relaxing, would recommend :). This game is very calming with few ads and sometimes there are special event games that are harder but more fun. Also if you turn on a special mode in settings the app will judge your moves so that you can get better at your technique, otherwise you are free to place the blocks wherever you choose. One tip I would recommend is to connect headphones and play music so that it sets more to your mood. Others great game would recommend.

They have a great time and learning to use problem solving skills!. This is the first time I actually engaged in geometry and general practice of problems solving skills with fun! I’m hoping that you give them a chance and help exercising with your brain! This game makes you think outside of the box. I’m hoping that you can get a higher score!

Why no wood colour. Bruh it hurts my eyes when i play with the white version 😭 I really need the wood version back please please save my eyes i really wanna play this game as long as i can

Not enough fun.. - There are far too many interrupting advertisements. - there is not a cl at explanation of how the scoring works. - very disappointing.

Please add a dark mode. Playing this game at night is very hard with the white and blue color scheme.

Undo this update. New update makes the game feel cheaper, and leas quality. Please bring back the old textures!!

Great game. Love this game. On the daily challenge would like to see it not end when you reach the point goal. Let it go to see how high a score I can get

Good game, can add extra features.. Hi, it’s an addictive game, but can you add an option to play on a larger grid. So that you can choose the standard grid as well as a larger one. Thank you. Also maybe make some sort of online part of the game perhaps. Otherwise very solid game 👍

Question. Comment je peux enlever les annonces publicitaire quand je joue

Love it but.... Hi. Really love this game however it keeps freezing and wrecking my strategy by placing them in the wrong spot. So instead of relaxing me it now has me frustrated. Please fix so I can love it again:) Thx!

Broken. This game used to be so fun but ever since the major update a couple months ago it’s completely broken. I’ve played 30+ games in the tournament and EVERY SINGLE GAME is 2500-3500 points. Every. single. time. There’s absolutely no way that this isn’t by design. For whatever reason they don’t want you to have a score higher than 4000 anymore. I’ll be at 3500~ points and I’ll get three straight drops of impossible combos of blocks and the game will be over. Waste of time.

Bushes. I have been playing Blockudoku a very long time. Today I open it to play and a button came up to try a new strategy with bushes. I tried it and do not like it but I can’t turn this off. I want to get back to the original game. Please help me!

Change isn’t always an improvement.. I liked the old version better.

Very entertaining. Very entertaining

Best score. Hard to do and I’m HAPPY

Needs some changes. This game is good to play to make you look at all the options But you give 3 objects to put in and you lay all 3 before more appear Well you may play differently given the next ones coming up and sometimes all 3 come up that can’t go anywhere Well that’s not really right you should have a running 3 objects so when one is placed another one appears below so there are always 3 to place No hidden blocks then and appearing and you can’t use any This change would make it for better thinking *** additional info First screen there is absolutely no way to use the 3 object and one is already greyed out because it doesn’t fit So given this it’s an automatic fail on trying to get something cleared You need to change to objects appearing as one is removed Otherwise you’ve set it for failure before I can even start 🤷🏼‍♀️

BAD UPDATE, BAD BEHAVIOR. BEEN LIKING THIS APP VERY MUCH YET SINCE YOUR LAST UPDATE, I KEEP GETTING A WHITE BLANK SCREEN THATS FROZEN IN PLACE, I HAVE TO FORCE SHUT DOWN THE GAME THEN RESTART WHICH DOES NOT ALWAYS UNFREEZE THE BLANK WHITE SCREEN!! I SENT A MESSAGE TO YOU PEOPLE THROUGH THE GAME YET NO ANSWER!! GET THIS FIXED ALREADY FFS…….

Avoid - scam & phish ads!!!. Had this game for about a month and it started displaying the “McAfee - your account is lapsed” ads with an audible warning sound. Deleted and gone. Do not trust its security or its developers now. Buh-bye.

Unstable. I play many different games with no issues. This game however causes my device to heat up. Also, after playing it for a while the game starts to go very slow, freezes and even shuts down. Very annoying!

Great game, ads ruin it.. I’ve been playing this game for a while; the ads never used to be so bad. It’s like I spend more time watching ads then playing the actual game. Yes, I know there is a “remove ads” feature, but for $6.99? No thanks.

BRING BACK THE OLD USER INTERFACE. BRING BACK THE OLD USERINTERFACE please Thanks you

Excellent jeu pour développer l’observation. J’adore ce jeu, il faut prévoir les positions bien avant de recevoir les blocs

QR code. When I lose it looks like a QR code I laugh every single time

Blockdocu. A marvellous game, very well designed and perfectly programmed. Easy on the eyes and a pleasant to look at. You can spend hours playing it. It also makes you think.

Ruined. Thank you for ruining a great game with your last update. The screens are too busy with colored shapes and the bubble screens give me a headache trying to look at them. Guess I won’t be playing this game anymore…… sad after almost 3 years of enjoying it.

Was 10/10 before new update. Newest update very upsetting. Can’t change appearance to anything other than bright white and blue which sucks when you play the game in bed.

Blockudoku. Great game, however way too many ads. Takes the pleasure away from playing the game. The ads will even pop up when you're in the middle of playing. Ridiculous!

Fun game. Cool game, once you removed the ads.

Too many adds. Like the game but sometimes there’s as many as 3 add breaks in one game

Night mode please!. I’ve loved this app for years, it helps me fall asleep but they changed the settings so it can’t look brown and there’s no night mode. It’s too bright to fall asleep! Please add night mode ASAP 😩🙏🏻

Terrible. It was nothing like what the add showed. The add showed me that I would be given a different shape to fit different shapes inside of it, but when I downloaded it… it was nothing like that.

Change it back. I’m not a big fan of the new update. Usually when you update an app it progresses. But apparently these guys don’t know how to do that. Worst update ever. The daily challenges are horrible now tbh the game didn’t need any updates from it before, why change a good thing. I shudder what you guys did for events. The graphics you had before the new update were better then the ones you had now. I played almost every day but i dunno now.

Awesome game. A must play because it is a free game and calming game

horrible. not like the ads at all

Meh. Way too many ads.

Interesting. Liked the simplicity of the game. Good fun.

Ad-duko. Game used to be fun but now the ridiculous amount of ads has ruined it.

Done with this game. It’s fun to play, but when it starts randomly and directly opening my App Store to get me to download promoted apps without warning, I have to cut this thing off and remove it.

Jessica. Such a amazing game , it helps to get ride of stress and anxiety 100%

Dark mode. Love the app, a lot of fun, although on some of the challenges can be tough just cause you got handed bad pieces. But the biggest thing for me is no dark mode, I play in the night and the screen is so bright! I would also love an undo button for when you get those bad pieces. Thank you!

fix your game. most people are stuck getting 3000-4000 scores, i have played around 100 games and 99% of my games are in that range, this all happened right after the block redesign update, pls fix this

False advertising. Game doesn’t contain what ads depict

Advertising over load. While I realize advertising is part of free games, the amount of advertising on this app is over the top. It even happens right in the middle of games. Often several advertisements happen that lead you lead rabbit holes as you try to get back to the game.

Not as advertised. Not as advertised

Not as advertised. Filling in boxes . Not the shapes advertised

A little frustrating. It almost seems like the game sets you up to fail, with large shapes that don’t fit well no matter how good your spatial awareness is. I agree with others that having a mode in which you can rotate the shapes would be nice. I don’t like games that are based on luck rather than skill

Best game ever. Best game ever no adds no health just you trying to make a square or a line but like somebody else said you should be able to rotate the blocks but other than that best game

Misleading advertising. One of the many sad apps these days where the game is different (and lame) compared to advertising.

Yawn. Way too many ads The point system doesn’t really make sense The game is all based on luck.

Good. Nice

Unplanned moves!. Pieces often jump by themselves into places I don’t want them!

Fun puzzle game. I really enjoy this game, especially the daily puzzle. I don’t often have time for much more. It is simple and straightforward. I am not sure how long I have been playing it, but I think it has been a few years at least. I paid the small amount (less than a cup of coffee) for the ad free version. I think it is very reasonable to support the developers for something I enjoy on a daily basis. Some people find the random pieces frustrating, but you can keep trying as there doesn’t seem to be a limit on the number of tries you get to solve the puzzle. I actually just installed it on my phone as well. I used free google credits to remove the ads on my phone. I normally don’t leave reviews, but the ones for this game were too whiny to believe and motivated me to comment.

Developers ruined the game. This used to be my favorite game and I loved playing the daily challenge every morning. Unfortunately, the recent changes have made the game no longer fun to play and here is why. First, there are too many ads now. I used to be able complete the daily challenge with ads at the beginning and end of the challenge which was fine. But now the game interrupts midway through a challenge to show you a long senseless add. I understand that the developers have to make money and I should just purchase the paid version which I have considered but ultimately decided not too because of the other issue. That brings me to my second and biggest complaint. The daily challenges are no longer challenging. It used to take me sometimes 2-3 attempts to complete the daily challenge, but now I literally complete it in 30 seconds by popping bubbles or removing bushes with no sense of accomplishment. Is this really the best idea that you all could come up with to improve or advance the game? Maybe instead of adding childish bubbles and/or flower bushes, how about you improve the game play by making new daily challenges that actually challenge people. I hate to say it but after 5 plus years of playing I am sadly going to delete the game and spend my time playing something else that is more fun and rewarding. Hope you all see this review and strongly consider making some changes to improve instead of ruin the game. Good luck.

Played this game for years. I used to love this game, it was always a favorite to be playing and mindlessly do the puzzles. I paid for this app a while ago to be ad free and never regretted it. But recently they added in these gem and bubble levels that I am not a fan of. Thats mostly personal and I get trying to keep the game fresh (although I do miss the normal game play). I had battery issues on my phone lately and most of my screen time used to to be mindlessly playing this game, but since the gem and bubble update the app takes up twice the amount of battery that it did in the past. I can’t play the game anymore because it’s draining my battery more than heavier games I played in the past or even watching videos. Very sad cause it was my most used app (I have every trophy from every day available even) but now I can’t keep that going with how much battery this seemingly simple game now takes

This is Kind of Opposite of Sudoku. Original post was because I didn’t understand how the game ends - “You just keep dragging and dropping & eventually it says you’ve finished, even if entire board isn’t blocked. It kind of feels like just one endless exercise of dragging and dropping with no real point. Can’t determine the objective.” Updated feedback: So with the developer feedback, I’ll amend. I thought this was supposed to be like sudoku, where you fill the entire board up, or it ends when you’ve filled all you can and you can’t place a piece anymore. It’s actually kind of opposite of sudoku if the objective is to keep clearing the squares or lines so that the game never ends. I. guess I’d like it better if it was like sudoku - the squares you fill just stay blue and can’t be used again in one game, even if it ends earlier that way. Refilling some over and over again is visually confusing and not much fun to me, personally. But thanks for the clarification.

False Advertising, Frustratingly Bad RNG. Saw Blockudoku advertised on another app, and it showed a player starting with more than just 3 pieces, and attempting to fill in a triangle. An IQ meter was also present. At the time of this review, puzzles in the form of shapes do not exist, pieces are provided 3 at a time (arguably at random - more on this later), and the IQ meter game variation is hidden beneath an options menu with a somewhat ironic title. If false advertising isn’t enough to leave a bad taste, the random-but-also-not-so-random generation of new pieces definitely will! I can’t prove it, but play a few games and watch how all 3 provided pieces are the exact opposite of what’s needed every. single. time! Each failure prompts an ad to play… Anybody else seeing a correlation!? Why not offer a mode with a more static or pre-determined set of pieces (again how the game was advertised) so that players may learn from mistakes and garner a sense of accomplishment or progression rather than feel consistently at the mercy of luck or RNG (random number generator)? You could increase the difficulty with each level and even monetize the use of hints or power-ups rather than relying on such pesky ads (and a somewhat hefty price tag to remove them)! In it’s current form, Blockudoku is not as advertised, far more frustrating than fun, and seems to put more effort into generating ad revenue than providing an experience worth paying for.

I love this game! But…. I love this game! I play it all the time. But the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because I feel like the game would be better & a lot more fair if they replaced a block piece right after you laid one down instead of waiting till all 3 pieces are used. I feel like in the beginning of the game they give you all the pieces you need & then the further you get along they start to give you pieces that makes it impossible to clear any rows, columns, or squares. So, if they replaced if after you used 1 instead of all 3 I think it would just be more fair in my opinion. Even if they just made it where you have an option to play that way would be cool too. But, still love this game regardless. Just a suggestion to make it a little better. 😊

Long time player no more. I’ve been playing this game for well over a year and I used to love it. It was a way for me to shut my mind off and only focus on the blocks. Being autistic, I hate change and have a hard time with it. They’ve added stupid cutesy things that drive me nuts, but I adapted. Took me a while, but I adapted. They added cartoon-y challenges that I ignored. They also put players against each other in tournaments that I have never participated in. Another symptom of my being on the spectrum is; I get overstimulated very easily. For this reason, I almost always have everything on the dullest setting on my phone. With the most recent update, they took the darker brown feature away and I can no longer play the game, as it hurts my eyes to look at it. I’ve paid for this app to remove ads because I love it so much. But this is the last of it. I can’t play it until that feature comes back.

Long time Player - Heavy on the ads for the free version. I agree with the veteran about the % who pass, this is luck of the draw game for the most part. I have been playing this game for a few years, never saw a reason to upgrade to the paid version as the ads were short, however now the ads come before starting the daily challenge, during the game and after the completion, not to mention the ad ribbon at the bottom of the play field, and I have noticed that the every day challenge has had an increase in the completion score by 200 points, seems like the developer has thought of a new way to inject more ads. Due to the game mechanics becoming more complex and difficult to solve. I really enjoy the gameplay and the game. Over the last few months I have been playing, more and more ads, making me think “time to delete the game” sadly because I really enjoy playing. My time has a value, and it’s getting to expensive for my tastes.

Ignoring or Over-riding privacy settings. Now crashing. In a recent update I noticed that despite blocking this app from access to cellular data, when not connected to WiFi, the app is using cellular data anyways to download advertisements, banners video ads etc, as well as connect to tournaments etc. Cellular data has been de-activated for this app for months, and now after two updates the game crashes when trying to load advertisements and frequently lags excessively. Closing the app, and all other apps yields no success at reducing the lag or now the frequency of crashing every single time I open the daily challenge. Beyond that obviously the game was fun enough for me to continue playing it despite its obvious security concerns, but now that it no longer functions and my growing concerns are more with apples privacy and security regarding the app, than the app creators bugs fixes and stability which is obviously a game changer when it doesn’t function. It’s time to move on and ban this app developer from my devices.

These Ads Are NOT Bad!. So I understand the need for devs to show ads for revenue and as if I didn’t already LOVE this game (because I do), I must say that.. The ads are TOLERABLE! You’ll get one after every level and you’ll *occasionally* be interrupted by one (must be on an in-game timer) HOWEVERRRR Every ad is skippable after 5 seconds. BUT THE BEST PART IS They don’t do the whole AppStore pop-up window (does that really actually get the advertisers more downloads when they do though?) I really like the game and I’m absolutely THRILLED at the fact that the ads do not bombard you with the AppStore pop up. A quick 5 second ad with one or two click exit, and you’re back to the game. I have another Easybrain game (Number Match) which also gets 5 stars for gameplay and the minimal effort required to click out of ads. It sounds SO STUPID to base my reviews solely on the fact that annoying ads are astronomically less annoying, but that’s 2023. I delete games that are murdered by advertising. To be honest, Easybrain likely makes more by showing shorter, unless intrusive ads because it keeps their satisfaction level high, meaning more people stick around. High five to whoever figured that one out!

Make tournaments more fair. I enjoy the tournaments but don’t think they are scored fairly. I would like to see the score be the mean of all score after a minimum number of attempts. I actually play often during tournaments, and now have 11,000 points. I’m in tenth place. In first place is a player who has 60,000+ points. The only way I can see someone getting that many points is by playing constantly day and night. If they are really that good without non-stop playing the average would show that in a better way. I don’t know much about online gaming, but I suspect that this high score could also be the result of some sort of cheat. But, I still like the game quite a bit.

What have you done to this app. Hello, This game has been one that has been my favorite for over a year now, I play it everyday + going back into the game multiple times a day to do the tournament and other challenges you guys offer that typically has to do with a holiday. However I have to say I woke up this morning with EXTREME disappointment. Why in the world would you ever update the game to where it looks like and old and outdated version. It feels like it’s lagging and just looks absolutely awful and I can’t seem to come up with one logical answer as to why any of you would’ve thought that this was a good idea??? Please change it back to how it was yesterday. Yesterdays colors and set up we’re phenomenal. However today, absolutely tragic. I used to think this was a 5 star app but now… maybe two or three.

Good game gone bad. BHR1 This game was the best block game to play until all of a sudden the early block patterns were forcing the player to fail consistently on very low scores which is very discouraging. My highest score was over 4000, and as late as last week I was still able to chalk up scores in the upper 3000 range. Every game I play now barely gets you past 500. The fact that suffocating 9 block patterns are not included in the puzzle mix made it more fun to play with, especially when you could make the puzzle last for awhile. I like the blue and white color pattern as opposed to the boring brown and tan patterns on other games that just happen to be boring short term games anyways. So, I decided the developer has ruined a 5 star game, turned it into a 2 star one, and forced me to give up and delete the App altogether. Sad when they start messing with a good thing.

Great game, 1 problem. The change y’all just made to the games theme is outright horrendous, unless it is for copyright issues or some weird reason please add a way u can change it back to the old theme cause the way it looks now looks like a crappy kids game and the edges look terrible. I’ve played this game for long enough to not even remember when I started and I’ve played it daily as a way to pass the time please just find a way to fix it cause I don’t want stop playing this but I can’t stand to look at it anymore. I apologize to whoever has to read my rant but I just can’t handle change well and this just irritates me In a way I can’t clearly convey.

Fun puzzle, scoring could be better. Great challenging puzzle game, Tetris meets Sudoku grid logic. Your strategy must be “expect nothing” because you receive random pieces and can not rotate them as in Tetris. Multiple challenges to achieve and daily puzzles to solve. My biggest complaint is with the scoring. There is very little bonus for clearing multiple squares/lines simultaneously, or in consecutive turns. Would be nice to see the bonus improved because it would make it worth the gamble to fill the board waiting for that “just right” piece. As it is, since the score benefit is so minor, the only worthwhile strategy is to just use your given three pieces to clear one line, or one square, rather than taking the risk and building up the board for something exciting. Fix the scoring to make risky play more of a reward in the face of game-ending disappointment, and you’ve got yourself a 5-star app!

Game no longer what it use to be.. A couple of years ago I paid $4.99 to go ad free and enjoyed playing this game and wanted to support the developer. 3 months ago the developer changed the game so it no longer functions like it used to. You are given impossible pieces to work with at around 3,500 points and the game ends quickly. I no longer enjoy this game. Numerous people have complained including myself. Support team gives a canned response that they will not change, fix the problem or revert back to what previously worked. You give no reason as to why to can't revert back. It has been 3 months or more with no improvements for what you changed and broke. Easybrain should offer a refund to it's customers for a game that is now flawed and does not work as originally designed. I would never have spent money on this game of I knew the game would turn out to be like this.

Was my fav app and now It’s hard to play. I have been a long time player of Blockudoku since 2019 and have even gone as far as to share and have friends download the game too. I love that it is simple and relaxing and I can do it mindlessly. I even got the ad free. Version because it is so fun! I’m the four years I’ve had this app it’s been literally the same so I was very suprised to see a whole new display and design. As a designer I feel like the old design was better… not only that but now their are bubbles and bushes and I feel like I would be less mad if they didn’t change the look and feel of the blocks. I wish they would add an option to play the old version especially because I absolutely love playing and collecting the event tiles. This has been a sad time for me because I haven’t been able to play my favorite game!

great game, big fan, one problem... Blockudoku is fun, relaxing, challenging, and so much more! i use this game on a daily basis and won’t get bored. if i am bored, its my go-to game. however, and i know this is said a lot in reviews, the ADS are the biggest problem 🥲 the amount used to be fairly normal, just some 30s ad breaks, nothing insane. but recently, i am getting ads when i open the app and even when i just continue a game! those two steps, btw, are within 10s of each other. the ads are also becoming longer?? i’m getting 60s+ ads and it really frustrates me! i’m just trying to play a game :( anyways, don’t take this the wrong way, i love Blockudoku and won’t stop using it. please just consider other reviews of flaws and perks.

A Different Criticism. I’ve played and enjoyed Blockdoku for quite some time, now, and understand the criticism passed on by the Vet that doesn’t like the percentage scale at the beginning. I didn’t like it either, but I started thinking of it as a measure of difficulty, and how many times it might take me to beat the puzzle. This makes it a manageable challenge and adds to the fun for me. What I would like to see is how I did on all the puzzles in the daily and weekly challenges. The daily puzzle shows how far you got. The weekly challenge puzzles just die with no feedback on how you did. I would like to see the percentage complete display after each of the “Jungle Challenge” or “Thanksgiving Festival” puzzles. Otherwise, it’s a lot of fun!

Best morning game. I play the daily challenge every morning. Great way to start the day. There are some ads but u can skip through them after like 3 seconds. The feeling of completing a diary level is great and if you want to challenge yourself don’t play the game for a while, then come back to it and do all the daily challenges you missed. That is one thing I love about the game. The fact you can go back and play levels if you missed them. I downloaded the game but didn’t start playing it every day until about 3 months after I got it. I just finished doing all the daily levels I missed and now I’m addicted to the game, in a good way. I love playing the game every morning.

It’s good, but........... The game itself is fun and addictive, the concept is simple and challenging all at the same time which makes you think and that’s great compared to what most games are. However, in my personal opinion the ad frequency is absolutely absurd and I refuse to pay $5 to get rid of them. I have a hard time believing the developers are also gamers themselves cause with a price like that it makes you feel like you’re only after the money and not customer satisfaction which is highly unfortunate cause if that’s the case you’re gonna fall and hit hard in an industry like this. Lower the price tag some and I’d gladly pay it cause I enjoy the game when I’m not having to watch ads. I know there’s a way to make them less frequent cause I know the backend programming and how to do this kind of stuff. But until then I think I’m moving on.

Old game was better. Have played this game on and off for a few years. Used to enjoy it more than any other game. At some point in last x months they changed the game and now there are far too many ads, with no way to disable them. They need to provide a method for a few dollars not to have ads constantly popping up. Make 2 moves, ad, make 2 moves, ad, 1 move, ad, 4 moves , etc… Also they have changed the block generation algorithm and it is not random anymore. In old days you could play the same game for hours and get scores in the 20,000+ range. Wasn’t easy, but it could be done which was a key to the game being enjoyable. Now when the game decides you have a score high enough, you get a series of large and very odd shaped blocks such that within 2- 5 more turns you lose. Typically in the 5-6,000 range. Consistently used to get scores between 15-20,000, now cannot get a score over 6,000, so at some point I know I am going to lose. You can also tell the game is not random anymore because at lower scores you suddenly get blocks needed to fill real odd holes, but a higher score you do not get the most simple block to fill a common shape for 7-8 turns as you get into the 5,000+ range. Also, it show my old high in the. Mid 20’s but there is no way to ever get that high again so kinda stupid. Think it unfortunately is time to stop playing the game. Disappointing…

My kind of game. I love this game because it is not sudoku; where you need to fill up the board , or Tetris where you can turn the tiles to its sides, although rarely, I wish I can turn the block to fit it perfectly on the board and keep on playing-. Ido play to challenge myself to get beat my score. I do as fast as I can , to fill the board minding only the 3 tiles given me. I do not worry about the next sets of tiles. I do not worry about racing against time, which I truly hate. I know the developers get their earnings from ads you see as you play, but I just set my tablet on airplane mode and I can play repeatedly to get my better score ( which rarely happen because I play it mindlessly and at a pace I enjoy.) No ads on airplane mode, battery seems longer. Thank you for this game. It is definitely one of my very few favorites.

Completely different game then I thought. I was playing another block game when an ad for this one came across. I saw that it looked like there is a certain shape that you have to fill with the correct blocks. I installed it and it is a completely different game. It was exactly like the game I was already playing when I saw the ad for it except that you can get point from forming a square. It’s a good game overall but I’m still rating it a 1 star for false advertising and partially because before every stage it says “only 10% of players can solve” and it kinda bothers me by trying to intimidate me into thinking I can’t do it. Please stop posting these ads showing a game that is not this. False advertising is actually a crime and is punishable by law and you could serve 6 months in jail and/or a fine up to $2,500 if you did not know. Just giving you a taste of your own medicine by intimidating you just like your game does. Don’t think that what I said isn’t a lie though.

Easy Brain likes to ruin their games. I have 3 other of their games & just added this one. In the 2 other games I have B&W & Colored Nonogram where I use to have to watch an add if I needed more hints than I had for 1 hint… [that was BEFORE the version changed & ruined it for me]. I did buy the ad free for the colored Nonogram thinking it would be similar to the b/w game. I should have waited because the colored one turned out to be like the NEW b/w except you can’t pick difficulty levels when just wanting to challenge yourself & I get way too many easy ones. Don’t play the b/w one because like this one they’ve changed it to boring or certainly not challenging. Suffice it to say neither one offers much effort/skill…. The minute I opened this one & started to play it, in the first 5 min I had 3 ads & I’m not talking about shorter ones but the 60 sec kind. Totally unplayable unless you go ahead & spend the 5 bucks to buy ad-free. I don’t do that in any game unless I try it long enough to see if I’m going to stay with it…& 5 min isn’t enough! Who knows if I’ll like it yet…I think we should have a bit of game play before ads out number games! Nope reckon I’m about done with this developer and I use to love b/w Nonogram, obviously been playing for many years…not anymore & with the addition of this ad infested game…doesn’t lend to trying more.

Good game, but…. …I hate it when an app overrides the music or audiobook or podcast I have playing in the background. This app doesn’t always stop my audiobook, but it often does, even after I paid for the ad-free version. I like to listen to audiobooks and podcasts while I’m playing puzzle games, but with this game I have to keep closing the game to restart whatever I’m listening to. I would play it more often if that wasn’t a problem. The other thing I would change is that I’d like to have an “undo” button. Sometimes my game lags or freezes for a few seconds and when that happens a block usually ends up somewhere I didn’t want it. It would be nice to be able to undo the most recent move when that happens. Other than those two things, I enjoy this game. I don’t regret buying the ad-free version.

It’s over between us.. Have been playing the game since 2019. Enjoyed the challenge and worked hard to accumulate each month’s trophy. Told my friends about it. Loved the side events for special occasions. Not any more. It was not unusual for me to make it to the third event level and get stuck on a particularly difficult layout. It was a pleading to work through those I did complete. Not being able to make it through even the first level? Not so much. And I absolutely hate the pointlessly stupid statistics that pop-up on every single game. UGH!!!! Thanks for the memories. I will always remember our time together. But it’s time to move on. (Weeping quietly.) Updating review to 4 stars after developer’s response. Will give counseling (ie. next update) a chance.

Glitchy. I’ve been playing this game for quite sometime. It’s a good way to pass time. But lately I’ve been having quite a few problems that have my questioning whether I should keep the game or go ahead and delete. These problems have only gotten worse as time goes on. 1) Sometimes when trying to bring the game up to play it make take more the 30 seconds to load up where as before it was a few seconds. 2) Once it finally decides to load up it’ll immediately shut down. 3) If the game stays up you can’t get into either daily, regular or tournament play. No matter how many time I press the play button (and then it’ll shut down). 4) If I can finally play, the feature to drag the sequence of block it’ll lock up and then randomly place the blocks somewhere on the board and it’s usually in a spot where I certainly didn’t want the blocks to go. I’ve spoken to another person who I know plays the game and they too have been having the same problems. So I know it’s not just me. And, when I tried to contact support (kept shutting down) there was no real way to leave a message so it’s forcing me to do so by leave a 1 star review. What can you do to keep me from deleting this game and then leave another review warning people to not even waste their time down loading a game that’s pretty much unplayable because of ALL the glitches? This is not the only game I play on my device but it’s the ONLY ONE with these problems!!

Ads. I totally understand ads after each time you fail a round. This gives you ads in the middle of your game, after you fail, and when you start a new game. I’ve played other block games and they only have ads after you fail a round to play again. I don’t understand why these games advertise for each other when there are no purchases to be made. It asks you for terms and conditions to your device right away. I believe it just gives them access to your phone/ data. Also they advertise showing trying to fit shapes into hearts etc. there is not such thing. Just blocks/lines/squares. I did like the challenge of the having to remove boxes multiple times before it’s removed but wished it had shown that in demo because I did not know what the numbers on the blocks meant at first until I started the round and figured it out. Deleted app an hour after download. Too many ads!

My zen game. This game is just that perfect balance of challenge and simplicity. In the beginning it felt like I sometimes got odd tiles (as one reviewer mentioned), but the more I played the more it seemed that I had to change my thinking and the tiles would work in the puzzle (just not where I expected). Unlike Tetris it seems like the goal of this game is to complete a square or create a vertical or horizontal line and the tiles you are given are based on what will help you complete that goal. I also like the aesthetic of the game more than the other versions I’ve played. I would have given it five stars, but there were a few glitches and at one point the game locked up. Since it’s a puzzle game it’s not like I lost a bunch of levels or anything (like what happened to me when Candy Crush crashed). I just deleted the app and downloaded it again.

Fun but also frustrating. This game is so much fun… until you get to a puzzle that you have to do over & over multiple times. The current earth day event, I have not gotten past the first picture. I’ve done the orange & red levels at least 20-25 times. What could be relaxing is anything but with this event. I know they can be completed but it’s frustrating not being able to complete those. Personally I think other pictures should be open to do. At least that way you have options and can skip around a bit. It would make it easier to not get bored with having to do the same few over and over again. Because to be honest, getting stuck on the first picture without being able to move forward in any way, does make the game boring.

Removed features. I wasn't originally going to write a review about this, but upon seeing the developer response that the removal of the darker "wood" theme was an INTENTIONAL DESIGN DECISION rather than a bug... I am horrified. It is 2024, apps should know better about the horrible effects that looking at bright apps all the time can do to your eyesight. The game is BLINDING with their default theme with mostly white and other incredibly bright colors. The game was much more accessible with the "wood" theme which was darker and easier on the strain on the eyes. Seeing the developer response to people complaining about it's removal saying it was intentional and isn't coming back is INSANE. Most apps are adding dark modes because they know most users prefer it because of the eye strain, not removing it!! I'm really disappointed with the developers for making this decision and will probably stop playing the app because it literally hurts my eyes to play it currently without the wood theme. I cannot comprehend the decision to remove a well loved feature for absolutely no reason.

New Update Must Go. This is my all time favorite game. I play it daily. I wake up - play Blockudoku. Watch tv - play Blockudoku. Listen to music/adiobook/podcast - play Blockudoku. I even paid to remove the ads because I play so much. It’s the only app I’ve ever paid for. I’ve been playing for years and it has always been my comfort game. That is until this newest update with bubbles, gems, and gardens. If I wanted to have visually stimulating childish games, I would play Candy Crush or something else. But no. I love the sleek clean look of the original Blockudoku. I’m not sure if I can continue playing with this new update. There should at least be an option to turn off that mode, so people can choose to revert back to the original. I understand that some people might like the new versions, but it should be an option, not the new normal for everyone. Please listen to us and change it back or at least give us the option to switch modes.

Latest update not an improvement. Apparently now this game has decided to pander to the audience that thinks these games are some sort of measure of intelligence. Which isn’t true when the pieces are randomly assigned. The piece algorithm is faulty, as some shapes simply appear with far less frequency. Prior to this update I noticed that there was a tendency of the shape generator to specifically avoid shapes needed to complete a row/square. I tested this by leaving empty shapes unfilled (ones that typically popped up regularly). Shapes that would fill that spot routinely did not pop up until after the space had been partially filled. Now that this flaw has been combined with the latest pandering update, the game seems much more onerous and less of a fun way to challenge one’s ability to problem solve. At least the developers haven’t added the ability to purchase specific shapes yet, though I’m sure that’s coming eventually.

Please give the option!. I’ve been playing this game for years, and have loved it. I’ve completed all the daily challenges since some time in 2020, won a tournament, and completed a bunch of the seasonal tiles. Now every time I go to pick up my phone to play it, I decide to do something else instead. I don’t like the bushes, I like the gems even less, and the bubbles are obnoxious. Not that the whole game should be reverted, but you could give the option to use it with the new features or the old way. While I’m sure some people like the new features, some of us would rather stop playing the game entirely than deal with/look at them. Love this game, but I love it the old way. If it doesn’t have the option to change back, I think I’ll actually stop playing entirely.

Amazing Strategy Game!. This is a great, challenging strategy game with randomization, a difficult combination. I’ve seen a lot of reviews that the game is too random or involves no strategy. I heavily disagree! The strategy of the game is that you can’t rotate the blocks or see the next shapes. Even though this is randomization, you need to prepare space for anything. If you could rotate the blocks, the challenging part of the game would be lessened. I think not being able to rotate the blocks adds an interesting, challenging twist on games like Tetris. Another counterpart to Tetris this game offers is the slower paced strategy, unlike Tetris with a constant pressure being applied. You can’t rotate blocks because you have time to think about what position the blocks could be placed that would allow non-rotatable pieces to fit. The one thing I will suggest is that a, “Watch ad for another life,” or, “Pay *in-game, purchasable currency* to continue,” system is NEVER added! I feel like the challenge could be negated if this type of system were added, although the choice is up to you developers. In conclusion, the fact that you cannot rotate blocks and/or see what pieces you will get in the next set adds a challenging twist to this game! I just hope an ‘Do this’ for a new life system isn’t added.

The bed is so long. download this game the reason how I figured out the game. I’m over here sitting on the couch my friend say ho girly you should go download this game. Hating the recent changes. Been playing for well over a year and it’s recently changed enough that I’m writing my first review. It’s not fun anymore. They’ve increased the difficulty and added % of how many completed which must be totally fabricated because one that said only 40% of people finished it took me absolute days to complete, while the “only 15%” ones I could get after 1 or 2 attempts. The block pieces no longer seem randomized but done to trip you up (really, three of the 5 block lines at once when you’re halfway through the game? Or three of the 5 block L shapes?) it’s just not the same game it was so be warned and check recent (like, past few weeks) reviews before installing. Editing to add that the reviewers saying the forest event is impossible are totally accurate. Two of them- on the first postcard, even- are stupidly hard and yet “41%” of people can finish them? I dare the developers to actually do this. Game just isn’t fun anymore.

It’s so close to being amazing. I’ve been playing this game for around a month now , and it’s very addicting. However, there’s a few problems with it. The main problem is, you have very limited space for error and no matter how clean your lines are, or how neatly stacked, the computer never gives you the pieces you need. I get being strategic and hard and all, but it’s one thing for a game to have to use strategy and another to where you almost always never get the pieces you need to clear space. And if you get really far and get a high score, it’s never safe because it almost always can give you 3 pieces you can’t fit anywhere and guess what? GAME OVER! This part of the game needs to be fixed and if so , it would be a top 5 game on the App Store.

It was good. This game used to be a fun, no-frills, simple geometric pattern matching game. It worked well as this and I have had it on my phone for years, primarily only using it when I have long periods of unavoidable downtime with minimal connectivity, like on a flight or waiting in the terminal of an airport. Then the usual wave of “enhancements” caught up to it where small microtransactions to remove ads or playing an ad supported version gave way to an overstuffed “experience” with antagonistic language like “be better than other people by scoring 1200 here!” and then responding to negative reviews about this by saying “oh you can just disable it in a coming update”. You have missed the point. Your product is not what you think it is. If adding psychologically manipulative language to your otherwise innocuous geometry game is optional, it should be default off and only turned on if a user finds the setting in the app. But that doesn’t artificially drive up engagement numbers, so instead you feel the need to annihilate any semblance of the original reason I installed this game. I did not install blokudoku to be engaged, advertised at, manipulated or otherwise influenced. I just wanted to play with shapes. But that’s so far down the list of your priorities, I think I may legitimately need to just make a free version of this game for myself and close friends.

Data Backup Issue. I opened my app to notice my game name was not what it was supposed to be and there was no way to change it or get it back to what it was. So, I uninstalled my app and reinstalled hoping it would help my problem so that when i reopened the app again my name would be correct. Instead, I open it to find that everything I’ve done back to January is just gone, all the data, all my scores, all of the daily challenges I did, everything, like the game hasn’t existed until August. I can’t scroll back to January to redo it all, it won’t go any further than the 1st of August. I’m not sure what happened here, my phone saves my data every time I play, so I’m pretty disappointed that I’ve lost all my progress. I usually like this game, but I’m not sure I even want to play anymore after everything I did just to lose it all, I’ll have to start all over and from August vs. January. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Of everything, it saved my highest score, but that was all. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Blockudoku. The new games are ok. But some are extremely difficult. I would suggest that you consider at least 2 levels. It’s a great game until you can’t solve after many attempts. The problem below was addressed. Games have not been disappearing. But I do have to say the games have gotten much harder, many times I can’t get through the first page. I am starting to loose interest, when you try to many times to count & can’t finish a puzzle. If it’s just me, oh well. But I get the feeling it isn’t. Most people I know just move on to other games. This was a great game. UNTIL. When the New Year’s tournament arrived I played 2 games, then it just disappeared. The developers..several in fact have contacted me. They obviously do not communicate, they keep asking the same questions. Either they have no idea what is wrong or they haven’t spent any time trying to fix. It’s very frustrating to have paid for a game that doesn’t perform correctly.

New App Design :(. I want to preface this review with that I really enjoy this game, I find it quite relaxing and appreciate the little ads during gameplay. This game is unplayable for me right now. Prior to a couple of weeks ago the app was fairly basic design-wise. There was an option between the classic blue and white or a more wood color tone and that was perfectly fine. I’m aware that apps change and things look different but the previous 2D design added to calming nature in its simplicity. Now the app has this truly putrid 3D design, every block has a highlight on it now and they got rid of the clear lines separating the sections and opting for just different shades of grey. This makes me feel claustrophobic and really tense throughout gameplay. I wish there was simply an option to switch between the 2D and 3D designs because I’m sure this is exactly the look some people are wishing for. It just isn’t what I’m looking for and for the foreseeable future will not be playing.

Dislike update with bushes, bubbles, and gems. I have been playing this app daily for years. Absolutely loved it. However, this latest update involving the removal of bushes, bubbles, and gems has me seriously considering the deletion of this app. The removal of these items requires a different way of thinking of the game, and it is not enjoyable or conducive to strategies used to clear the blocks by themselves with the original method. The removal of these items typically takes longer and involves more game failures than in the past, which is additional time that I don’t have to invest during my day. Also, the bushes don’t remove in a consistent fashion, as it takes several attempts to remove the initial bushes while the ones that pop up later in the game can be removed with one “win.” I would suggest adding a toggle option in the settings to allow your users to choose whether they play with the original version or the removal of items version. Thank you for considering this feedback.

Don’t like jewels and bushes. I’ve played this game for a couple years now. I would challenge myself to do the Daily Challenge each day. Sometimes it took several attempts to accomplish this goal. It is a great puzzle game of strategy, chance and a little bit of luck. A few weeks ago the daily challenge changed to collecting jewels or eliminating bushes. I do not care for this. The graphics are too bright and the playing board is too busy. This didn’t just change the game going forward, if you click on a daily challenge before this update, games from the past have changed to this new format, too. 😫 I loved this game so much, a few months ago I purchased the no adds option. I am regretting that decision. I’m not sure why this game was revamped, but I am one to vote for the old version to return.

The game I go to first. My favorite “go to” game. However, I’m thinking I missed the way you end up “out of moves.” It seems as if I’m on a roll & have enough spaces left for more moves & then all of a sudden I get the no more moves notification. It seems so random. I see double & triple moves earn certain rewards but must have missed an entire detail about the out of moves concept at the beginning of the game. Also, I know the blocks are random, but they always seem to be the same ones. Usually not the ones I need. It’s so frustrating to keep consistently getting ones that I can’t use. Other than that, I gave this game 5 stars because it does keep me coming back!

Blockudoku. This has the potential to be a really good game but right now it’s very frustrating for several reasons. After I play it a few games, I end up cursing at you. 1) the touch screen sometimes picks up & drops the blocks not where I want them. It would be nice to have a reverse move so I can place them where I wanted. 2) the new set of blocks ALWAYS is opposite (mirror image) of what I need, so it makes the placement of the 3rd block a random placement, if there is more than 1 possibility. There is no logic to which position and invariably a different spot works better when the new set of blocks appears. It would be nice if you always had 3 blocks to work with. 3) much like chess, I can’t play this game when I’m tired because I can’t concentrate on every move and a stupid mistake at the start ruins the rest of the game for me. Thanks.

Now Opens, but All History has been Erased!. June 24. After the last update, the app no longer opens. It’s too bad they don’t do a better job testing an update before submitting it for release. *** Update *** June 25. They managed to fix the issue of the app hanging when attempting to open it, but now all player progress has been erased! This is very frustrating. If you haven’t updated your app in a couple days, I would recommend not doing so. I’ll post another update if they’re able to fix this mess they continue to put themselves in, but I don’t see how they’ll be able to bring back the history. *** Update *** June 27. Opening the app successfully, check. Player progress has been restored with this update. Let’s hope nobody uses claw hammers for future software updates. Thanks for addressing these recent issues.

Good game!. I really do like this game! It’s fun and makes you think yet can be done at the same time as listening to a show or something. The only issues I have is that, after a while, it can get very repetitive. Sure, there is the daily puzzle, and if you miss one or two, you can go back and do them all in a day, but once they’re done, they’re done, and they are normally quite easy. You can go back and play them but you already have, you know? Plus, all month, you are working for this trophy. But once you get the trophy...nothing happens?? Like...it becomes gold. That’s it. I want to see some power ups. Things that are actually unlocked when finishing a month or unlocking an achievement. Like being able to add or take away a block. A power up that clears the board for you. SOMEthing other than virtual badges and trophies that mean nothing. I would REALLY like the game then.
