IKEA Comments & Reviews 2026
So much better!. Recent updates to the app have made a huge difference. I’ve avoided shopping at IKEA online for many, many years because it wasn’t a very convenient UI. Even when I’d use Search I couldn’t find what I needed. I honestly couldn’t understand everyone’s obsession with the place. How were these people finding what they wanted?! When I saw the app several months ago I thought, oh maybe this will work, but I stopped using it within 5 minutes. I tried again today, 6 months later, and it’s so much easier to navigate. Best of all, when I searched for something specific, all sorts of options popped up that actually applied to my search! Imagine that. I’m so glad they updated the app to create a more seamless shopping experience.
Love the design and price. Going to the IKEA store here in Tampa is always a fun half-day outing. We love the drive across the bay, although more often we simply take the route over land to get there faster. Then we stroll leisurely through one floor of the store before having lunch in the cafeteria. We always pick up many items we first saw on the app, but end the excursion in the warehouse aisles to pick up another piece of furniture we priced through the app. The app is a great convenience because it will tell you if the item you want is not in stock and that saves you a trip. And I often compare IKEA with a couple of other venues, all via apps before deciding where I buy a specific item, but inevitably it’s at IKEA because I love the style and price.
One of my favorite stores.. IKEA has something different. Starting with for me it is esthetically pleasant to the eye, always organized, functional store layout. There is always something unique that you might not have thought off. One of the things I love the most is the show room, they help think outside the box. From the kitchen to the patio, from the bedrooms to bathrooms or living areas, there are an infinite type if accessories and decor from different styles you can choose from. The prices are affordable for the most part. If you are like me, budget conscious and you are looking for a more minimalist and modern style, IKEA is your place.
Stocking/delivery issues. I was at the MN ikea yesterday and they didn’t have the rug I wanted. Tried to order it to ship both to my house or to the store and the website/app kept saying it’s undeliverable to the area even with an ikea store present. The next day it is now saying there is one in stock, but I can’t order it. Not a fan of how unclear it is and how you can’t order items to the store for pickup/delivery Secondly, I ordered an in stock item on Monday but put it for pickup up on Wednesday when I would be in Bloomington. From Wednesday-Saturday it still lists my order as “in progress” as I’ve been checking it the item I ordered on Monday became out of stock by Wednesday and then today (Saturday) it says the item will be refunded and isn’t in the order however the order still says “In progress” not ready for pick up. Horrible customer service and the app is not clear if I should pick up or not.
Horrible customer service, damaged product. I recently drove 6 hours round trip to ikea with my family to pick out a dining room table. The box was in perfect condition so we didn’t think to open the box and inspect the table before we got home. We opened the box to find the table top split in multiple places and both of the support beams damaged and split as well. I’ve spent over 3 hours on the phone with promises that a manager from the store will call me back within 24 hours and it’s been almost a week. The only resolution I’ve been provided so far is for me to drive the table back and get a new one. All I’m looking for is the product in new condition and it has been extremely frustrating to not get a call back and to have ikea not take any responsibility for a quality control issue on their part.
Good app, Kreativ needs more work. I haven’t had any issues with searching or browsing products. The shopping experience is pretty good although being able to set multiple stores as a favorite would be nice (I don’t care about locations in another state for example) This review is mainly for the Kreativ scanning portion of the app. It seems like a cool concept, but I have yet to pass the initial scan screens. The app developers really need to add a button to skip the tutorials. They take way too long and are frustrating if you already need the instructions. They also really need to add a confirmation message to the close button because if you accidentally close out while in the middle of scanning, you lose all your work. I really want to use this feature, but these usability issues are blockers
Transforming Home Decor with Ease 🪑🛠️🏡. As someone who doesn't have a background in interior decoration, I found the IKEA app to be incredibly helpful and easy to use. The app's interface is straightforward, and it guides you through the process of selecting furniture and decor with ease. One of the things I appreciated the most about the app was the augmented reality feature. It allowed me to see how a piece of furniture would look in my room before I even made a purchase, which was incredibly helpful in making sure everything would fit and look good together. The app also offers product descriptions and specifications, making it easy to find the right items for your needs. Plus, if you're ever feeling lost or uninspired, the app offers suggestions and inspiration for how to use and style the products. Creating a shopping list was also a breeze, and I was able to share it with friends and family for their input or assistance. Overall, the IKEA app made decorating my home a much less stressful and more enjoyable experience. Whether you're an interior design expert or a novice like myself, I would definitely recommend giving the IKEA app a try.
IKEA is the best company in the world.. I’ve never really lived near an IKEA so didn’t really know too much about what goes on there. I recently decided it was time to rethink my home’s organizational condition! Unfortunately, most of my day was spent desperately trying to navigate the swamp that is The Container Store’s internet presence. It took me hours to find anything I was remotely looking for (in part due to load times and overall glitchiness). Finally, after a simple Google search, I was pointed in the direction of IKEA’s site. I promptly found exactly what I was looking for, was delighted to see they deliver to my area, AND happened to stop by on the right day because I got everything 20% off! Needless to say, I downloaded their very well-built app, joined the “IKEA Family,” and I now have a KNORVA and two FRAKTA’s heading my way (in addition to the items that originally led me to them). 🇸🇪 länge leve sverige!
Love it !. We just recently bought a house and the IKEA app is one that I always look forward to searching for furniture, decor, new rugs, etc.. on. It’s very helpful in my opinion so if your debating on downloading the app , I would say “ Go for it !! “ The IKEA app and the things available on it are somewhat reasonable for the price and affordable if you were worrying about that . The app itself has many options and variety’s of various items you could add into your house for a kick of spice or also to just do it to customize your area so you can achieve the look of your dream home . I guarantee if everyone checks what’s available on the app , they will like at least one thing !! 😊
Love the app. I love being able to browse the inspiration pictures they have and have been happy with the shopping lists. I have a couple of wishlist items for the app that keep it from being five stars: it would be nice to have an offline option for the shopping list since I often have trouble finding service in-store and have trouble logging into the wifi because it’s difficult to find my family member number; I’d love a better way to browse through curated categories of items instead of doing a search or looking through the catalog images; I feel like the search algorithm could be improved, the results when you’re looking at categories aren’t always very accurate or show too many variations of a single product line and max out at a certain number of results so you can’t see everything; and finally, it would be great if there were an easier way to look through and plan the more customizable products like shelving units, desks and pegboards.
3d doesn’t work. For the past few months, I’ve been trying to use the view in room feature on the app. When it works, I absolutely love it. My only issue is that most of the time it does not work correctly. The item will be horizontal to the floor and not vertical to the wall so I can actually see how it would look in real life. I’m not sure if it’s a bug or if it’s my phone but like I said when it works, it works wonderfully and I absolutely love it but when it doesn’t work, it’s extremely disappointing because I do not live anywhere near an IKEA store so seeing how the item will look in My Home would help so much and I would be able to shop from the online store more.
A Change Suggestion. I was trying to find a way to file a grievance that I had with IKEA, but could not. I wanted to send an email, but the only option for emailing was for order cancellation. I however wanted to email to complain about the lack of product at the IKEA store near me. Now I know Covid has really put a strain on resources lately and I do take that into consideration. However, I specifically drove to IKEA, which is about 45 minutes away from my home, to purchase two Trofast shelving units for our play area. I checked on the app and the supply level was low so I headed there quickly. Once I arrived, I went to the bay where the shelving unit would have been located only to find a “temporarily out of stock” notice. When I inquired about the item I was told that there must have been an inventory discrepancy. I was very upset since I had just driven all that way for one specific item. I would appreciate if the app designers would change the “low stock” indicator to “low stock, please call to ensure product availability” so that people like myself do not drive far and make arrangements for someone to watch their children only to be met with no stock in the store.
Not the worst app, not the best. Overall the app is pretty decent. I've had it for a couple weeks and haven't really had any issues until now. For some reason my Shopping List that I made has suddenly disappeared. I can't make another list either. It's not an internet issue, all of my other apps work fine. I logged out of my account and logged back in, still doesn't work. I also tried deleting and reinstalling the app which didn't work either. Aside from that the only other issue I have with the app is the inaccuracy of product availability. As many other people have done, I went to the IKEA store near me because it showed on the app that they had the item in stock that I was looking for, just to find out that they didn't actually have it. The issue I have with IKEA as a whole is the fact that you can't actually call any of the stores. The phone number just routes you through a national call center. The only way to get accurate information from a store is to physically go there and talk to the person at the information desk, which is pretty inconvenient.
Better than the old one - but still a work in progress. I think I have the last IKEA app one 1 star. This one is slightly better. There are still hilarious quirks though. For example, it won’t let me change preferred store. It pretends like it captured the change but then still shows the old store. The other thing - to click and collect, I have selected a store in IL which shows there is 1 of my selected item in stock - but it gives me 2 east coast stores to pick it up and not the selected store that shows inventory. Like I’m going to drive 900 miles one way for an $89 chair. This app needs to be fully tested again by a group of shoppers who actually wants to buy things. Lots of examples like this. But I will say- so far seems much improved over the last one where even the search engine part of the app was garbage.
There need to be some usability tests because dang.. I'm having trouble understanding basic things like whether this comforter cover comes in a different size, or what it terms are included in a "decorative combination" (does it include the table? The vase? The couch and wall??) I’m seeing some big changes in ecommerce terms (favorites lists) BUT the app also MAKES you choose a list, like, I have one list, just do the thing. I'm not a big list maker, but I didn’t think that favorites go on lists? I see ♥️ as a separate type of list, not a *shopping* list, and expect a different interaction to add to a list. Idk I’m confused by a lot of small things, so much so that I'd prefer to shop on dot com but I hope they didn’t cascade the app's interaction design to the web because I like IKEA, but I’m not braving covid to shop there. Almost all of this could be fixed by testing the app with like ten people.
Better than the catalogue!. I was disappointed when IKEA stopped producing its hard copy catalogue. Yet this app is much more efficient. The catalogue pages tended to cling together and thumbing through different categories took time. The IKEA app lets me find categories and subcategories of products instantly and even view them in 3D. View in Room is a handy mode that does what it says to your room by just pointing your cell at it. Inspirations is another mode that goes the extra step by showing how else the product can be poised or how extra decor can give the product some extra pizzazz. You know already how much you like the products. You will find this app streamlines the process of the hunt. Enjoy shopping.
Very good but has room for improvement. I made an online purchase using the ikea website and finished up the purchase on the mobile app. It was very handy that both systems shared data seamlessly. However, once I made the purchase it was difficult to find the details of the purchase like the dates of the different deliveries in the app. I freaked out when I saw the delivery address show as 9930 Franklin Square Dr, Baltimore while the website showed a 404 page for my purchase. I thought i had been hacked and had to double-check all details via customer service chat. Then I found the Baltimore address is the ikea office. So that may be a placeholder address they used in the mobile app.
Makes life so much. I thoroughly enjoyed the IKEA app. It makes life 10 times easier don’t get me wrong. I love going to IKEA I could spend hours and hours there actually I have but with my busy lifestyle being able to just hop on the computer and order what I need saves me a lot of time, hassle and frustrationand let me spend more time with my family the variety of items and resources that the IKEA app has to offer is amazing. I could spend an hour or two just on the app itself no but seriously I really do take advantage of how simple it is to order what I need and pick it up from the IKEA store or have it sent directly to my house.
Terrible app experience. This is one of the worst apps I’ve ever used with tons of UI issues. While trying to shop in store, you cannot scan items, you have to type every single item; however, after you type the item, there’s a glitch that happens and it doesn’t get added to your cart, making it impossible to try to find the boxes you need once you get to the end of the store. Also, I tried to order an item to be delivered to me and for some reason it’s saying item unavailable for delivery. Which I know for a fact it is not out of stock because they had at least 20 at the store, as I was trying to get it delivered to me house, since it wasn’t going to fit in my car. Overall, I’m extremely disappointed in IKEA. I hope you see this comment and hire a competent UX/UI team to make the app navigation better and have your engineers fix all the bugs your app has.
Photos of furniture are a disappointment. As I remember with the original app the photos were more detailed and phone size as in a lot bigger I don’t know if this makes any sense but the photos on this new app seem to be smaller and not enough information...like being able to see the inside of a wardrobe if it had shelves or a hanging rod in the old app you could see this information but now you can not...also in the old app if you could add more shelves you could scroll down see the different accessories that you could purchase for that unit click on it and it would take you to that page Furthermore with the older app it would also refer you to another product that was similar and may like instead of the one you had clicked on in the first place...so that maybe give you more options.
IKEA is my “Everything” Store. I’ve been shopping at ikea for over 20 years, and I’ve never been disappointed in their products. What amazes me about their products is it’s different and the quality is very good. The store is pleasant to walk around; and while shopping you can stop and have lunch at the cafeteria. Also, if you’re looking for ideas to furnish a room, closet, kitchen or your entire house, ikea is the place to shop. Their furniture is reasonably priced, looks good and, will last a life time. I should know. My entire house is all “ikea”. I highly recommend shopping there any for any and everything you might need for your home. Meekee
Works fine. accessibility could be better, for a mobile app with an inventory as expansive as ikea I would like a better shopping experience, although it isn’t *terrible*. I just expect more. clicking on a category should allow me a link to the item category cover, just went to buy a small table and was over it by the time I realized I would have to use the search function to find that table after backing out of the category it’s a small thing so imma still give you 5* on another note, a wide 1 month delivery window is kinda annoying to deal with. it’s a panny so I understand long delivery times, but a 1 month window that updates the day of random delivery isn’t ideal especially if i’m ordering quite a bit.
Good App but not the best for iPad Pro 12.9. I am used to using my iPad Pro 12.9 no on landscape mode. This app while good in portrait mode it will not switch to landscape mode. Please update the app to include landscape mode! Also the search by nearest store could be better. Not sure if theres a way to show available products only in store on the app. I keep having to go back and forward with checking product availability between stores. The whole delivery has never worked for me I keep getting errors all the time. Also the pick up option is never an option for me and there is an IKEA about 15min away from me. Not sure what going on with that. Other than that the App is great for just viewing what IKEA has to offer. If you’re looking for product availability it would be best to call the store or go find out yourself.
Discovery is difficult and it needs a landscape option. This app, although aesthetically pleasing is less useful than it was before. There are less categories to help you pinpoint what you’re looking for. You just end up looking at a bunch of pretty pictures of environments without finding what you need. This makes creating a shopping list more difficult. The app should be able to let you add something to the list even if it’s currently out of stock. What is out of stock should be able to be moved to a list for the future and you should be able to be alerted when something comes back in. Also people use their iPads to shop and they shop in the landscape orientation. Nobody wants to take their device out of its keyboard case to be able to use it. Bad UI, not intuitive at all. I think they used paid reviewers or their own employees, I can’t believe anyone would give this app a positive review. Nice app if you feel like daydreaming but impractical and less useful.
Needs work. I was disappointed to see this app replacing the previous catalog, for several usability reasons. First, why is this only portrait mode? Second, the UI for adding to a list is a bit confusing and involves a couple of unnecessary extra steps. Also, search filters are cumbersome, and the scrolling display of results is poorly laid out—items take up a lot of space, and on an iPad only two show side by side, and basically only one full row at a time. Also, I had several odd connection errors using this app (e.g., clicking an item in a search result to see its details, and getting an error saying the item couldn’t be displayed. This should be way, way better. I really want to use it, and it is getting in the way of finding, saving, and purchasing items.
Time lag, hard to find individual pieces. The updated app makes you sit through a couple seconds of slide show before you can use the app (can’t find a way to skip it), which is a useless waste of time. Also, it hasn’t solved a fundamental problem with IKEA’s app and website from forever: it’s hard to find individual pieces and their prices. Where most sites show you an item and suggest other parts of the same collection or things that work well together, many (most?) of the products you look at on IKEA are shown as packages of multiple pieces and it’s unclear how to unpackage them if you don’t want the configuration shown. It’s also hard to figure out which pieces come together and which are attachments/sold separately. I find this REALLY annoying and difficult to navigate. I do less shopping at IKEA because the app makes it harder to plan ahead and figure out whether they have something that will work for me.
Dissatisfied with your App. I am dissatisfied with the new IKEA app. My main issue is in regards to the lack of transparency for both in-stick and out-of-stock products. If the item is in-stock - please CLEARLY display how many are available at that location. If the item is Out-of-stock - please CLEARLY & ACCURATELY display the amount of product enroute to the store or will become available and WHEN. This will be especially helpful when people need to travel to an alternate IKEA location in order to purchase the product. Consumers need a timeline for in stock, accurate stock counts and estimated time of arrival for item to be in-stock. Additionally, your delivery area needs to be larger than 50 miles! Especially to help those who want to purchase IKEA furniture or other large items, but do not live near a store or have the means to pickup the item(s).
Navigation is so tough to figure out!. First of all it doesn’t work in landscape! I use an iPad Pro! Too big for an app that only works in portrait! And keeping it upright while searching is terrible. I also cannot find the area to make an in-store shopping list , which is my favorite feature or was rather. I clicked and clicked to find the categories so I could just browse and only found categories by room. I quit searching out of frustration and went back 2 hours later and the app opened to a different area. No idea how that happened or how to get there again in the future. So far the new app is a big disappointment and my hands hurt from holding a 12” iPad upright! So far- not a fan! Ok REALLY hate this app! I click on a coffee table-Lack. Wanted to see the size.. clicked on product size, nothing. Clicked on more information.. still nothing. Clicked on good to know and FINALLY got the dimensions with no pictures! The app stinks. I a, praying that the website is still working. Two thumbs down!!
The way every company’s proprietary app should be. So far I’ve had no problems with the IKEA app. It’s simple, intuitive and comprehensive. As I was using it yesterday to pick out furniture for my new apartment, I kept thinking, “Well this is working okay, but it’d be better if they had (x) feature”, and every time I’d find that sure enough it was. This app does everything it’s supposed to, everything you want it to, everything you could realistically expect it to, and then some. My only critique, and the reason I gave 4 stars out of 5, is that it can be a little bit laggy and unresponsive. Specifically when adding items to your list or cart, the app has to kinda think about it for a couple seconds. But this isn’t a huge deal. It doesn’t freeze or crash, it just takes a few seconds from when you tell it to add an item to a list for it to actually do it.
just… YES!!!. i honestly just love IKEA as a whole. their focus on quality, sustainable products, and care for consumer ethics and privacy are why i always choose to shop from them first (after thrifting 😜). i also love the advancements they’ve made with the app (including fully supporting iPadOS), and have implemented many of the features from the ‘IKEA Place’ app into the main app; with that in mind, the main thing that’s missing that made the “Place” app so wonderful was that you could view multiple objects at once in a room, which i have not found possible within this app. hopefully, that’s something that will be implemented in a future release… and, why i feel—if it is being implemented—the “Place” app should’ve stayed active until the features were fully integrated.
Entertaining and Easy. Sometimes I’m in the mood to IKEA dream, go on the app to play with all the possibilities. Many times I simply need an item. Either way this app is not complicated. I can quickly check stock at my store and across the nation. It’s been good so I can see when there is a shortage at my store only or if it is profound. Once I needed a certain dresser and it was out of stock across Texas but I stalked the app and one day my store had “low stock”. I jumped on it and did curbside. My store only had one of the rare dressers and I was told it was a single that had either been returned or was discovered in the warehouse. It’s now designed into a beautiful blond piece with rattan drawer fronts.
Old app was better. This new app is terrible compared to the old IKEA Store one. While it was glitchy at times, the old one was simple and required fewer clicks to add items to your shopping list. I really appreciated the ease of seeing a price tally, where things were located in the store, and checking them off, which has been eliminated. Given that IKEA still does not have robust shipping and delivery services, it is insulting that this app encourages customers to try to order things online. IKEA wants to charge me $99 for delivery of a lampshade and pillowcase. This new app is clunky, I’ve run into multiple bugs in less than 5 minutes, including my preferred store not changing after selecting a new one and returning search results for items that are no longer available. It requires more clicks to carry out every task than the old app.
Hej! Fix your janky app! Absolutely terrible…. I was trying to load a purchase I had made through the app, to do a return in store. When I noticed it had logged me out of my account and wouldn’t let me sign in… It keeps saying error signing in, or every time I log back in the app it never loads properly. Even my IKEA Family rewards were not showing up properly. This made my experience so incredibly frustrating, infuriating, and inconvenient. It didn’t help that the app never sent me a confirmation email or text for my purchase. All notifications concerning my order were sent through the app. And the worker I was dealing with to pick up my order the day prior was lazy and incompetent, so they never gave me any receipt for what’s so ever for my purchase. Thank goodness I had the order number on the transaction from my bank. Otherwise I would have lost out on money. I haven’t had too many bad experiences with IKEA. But this truly was the worst experience I have had both in store and online shopping. I do hope they maintain their good customer service and excellent quality, so this does not become the new representation of their company and brand. Because this experience has definitely left an negative impression on me.
No option to refine search to what’s in stock at your store. I have spent hours trying to find an item that I need only to discover nearly all items to be out of stock. It seems like nearly everything is out of stock at all times. For two years I’ve been watching the site for a few different items and everything remains out of stock with no alternatives available. It wouldn’t be as annoying if I could limit search results to items in stock at my store, but instead I have to sift through hundreds of out of stock items to find maybe one item in stock. It’s really discouraging. I usually end up settling with other retailers just to avoid the daunting task of finding something actually in stock within the sea of items that are unavailable.
HEJ!. I very much enjoy Sweden and this mobile game really showcases what it’s like to live in the land of sweedonese I feel myself growing blonder each moment I sincerely enjoyed looking at the frakta bag (21 3/4x14 1/2x13 3/4 “/19) I often venture to the nearby ikea to acquire copious amounts of furniture to bring home to my morbidly obese American family in an attempt culture them also my family and my disgusting Irish wife are only allowed to drink vintersaga and Swedish meatballs I’ve purposely designed my entire house to be a 1 to 1 replica of an ikea display I have setup my tv to only play every pewdiepie video on a random loop I have dyed my children Oliver and Astrid’s hair blond.
Search remains a failure. We have multiple IKEA (esp storage) furniture rooms at our business and pieces in our home’s rooms. We would like to replace some of those pieces - or add the same / similar to our collection - but between the “MAZE” approach Ikea take in its catalog (and store) finding the “same” something or a similar functional something to replace and knowing that you’ve seen all that IKEA offers remains impossible. The catalog search should allow AI recognition of basic functions and sizes of existing products and support further refinement. Case in point: we have Ikea multiple low chest of drawers from some years ago 48” x 19”(d) x 21” deep - 4 drawer - we have had no luck in finding it again and have no idea if we have see all of the offerings. Although all have been in store purchases under our family plan - we can not go back in our purchase and point to what we already purchased to buy again - or, should that piece no longer be available -what would present reasonable alternatives in form and function. Houses have sizes that your customers want furniture to fit in - each with functional needs at the point of their placement. Looking through a digital catalog is not the same as a physical one - and wastes time… please consider building a better way of allow customers with ideas of what they want a means to find and create the furniture that more than fulfills :)
Works better than the old app. Searching on this app is much easier than IKEA’s previous app. It is also easier to find out which items are in stock in different locations. It’s not perfect;) A pronunciation guide would be appreciated. There are some fun features to help you design your space. I really appreciate that the app both keeps track of my previous searches and that I can create project lists that I can purchase at once when I’m ready. My next comment isn’t app specific: IKEA has the best and easiest curbside pickup. Being able to purchase through the app and drive over and collect items during Covid has not only been handy but it actually relieves anxiety too. Kudos to IKEA.
Filtering needs major improvements. The app works pretty smoothly, but it oftentimes takes a very long time to find what you’re looking for. For example, I was trying to find a simple desk and could only filter the results through “tables and desks”—which included literally everything that IKEA offers in both those categories. Sifting through hundreds of results relating to kitchens, patio furniture, etc. was frustrating. On top of that, sizes can only be filtered by “small, medium or large”. Totally arbitrary and useless if you don’t know what actual dimensions those cover. Why can’t I filter by actual measurements like every other retailer has? And finally, there’s no way to filter the search by showing in-stock items at your local store. This is the worst one by far, especially since IKEA is having supply issues. Please add these features that have been common in almost every other retailer’s apps for years now.
Ikea!? More like idea! 💡. I love using this app for browsing through (and eventually purchasing) furniture because most of the time... Well... I see a piece of furniture! haha. But Ikea SHOWS how this item could be used in a space. This feature alone really helps me visualize the possibilities of making my house...a home! Other enjoyable features include: being able to save your favorite items into lists (for me, they're grouped by room or functionality); the suggested items similar to your current selection is useful as well; and the browse by images (of a well designed room or the items being used in a functional space) has proven to be effective as well when seeing a nice example and being able to click the thing you like and your already on the item page ready to buy. Anyway five stars because yes I love this app if you couldn't already tell.
So difficult to navigate. This app is so confusing and frustrating I literally want to cry. There are no obvious categories you can browse to shops. The home page is just a feed of photos. It’s like they want the app to me like a Pinterest feed of inspiration? But I just want to shop! I want to go to office furniture > desks > and then just view every single desk you sell. An inspiration feed isnt a bad idea but I don’t know why they’ve removed a classic shopping experience. I have once or twice somehow ended up in a product list view in this app, but I have no idea how I got there. This app is horrible. I am sticking to the website for my ikea shopping. EDIT: I’m leaving my original review but after trying to use the app, after I had completely quit the app and relaunched it, I saw that the search page allows browsing by categories. I believe there is a bug I must have encountered because previously, my search page only contained a search bar a few suggested search terms. This is frustrating when there is no other way to get to the categories for shopping.
don’t order from here unless—. I’ve ordered furniture from here almost A MONTH AGO, set my delivery date, and haven’t heard anything since I bought & ordered my furniture. it’s been a week since my expected delivery date & i have heard NOTHING and everytime I call, I’m either wasting 40+ mins listening to the same three sentences on HOLD waiting for someone to even answer the phone or i hear “well it looks like you order hasn’t been sent out yet,” well yeah.. I KNOW that’s why I’m calling YOU. I was told I would hear from IKEA in 2-3 days and again, HAVE HEARD NOTHING. In the amount of time it took to read this, I’ve read and edited this review(10 mins on hold as of rn). they finally transferred me to a resolutions department THREE calls ago and after 20 mins of me waiting for someone to answer the phone, when they finally did, they said “Hello” and before i can even say anything, THEY HUNG UP ON ME. I really loved their furniture and couldn’t wait to receive my order, considering i’ve spent $200+ on just a DELIVERY FEE, you would THINK I would have even heard something back, but boy was I wrong. beautiful furniture.. but i wouldn’t know seeing as though, I’ve only seen pictures from the app, NOT worth wasting time to even get an answer back, for the to tell you the most OBVIOUS reason you called. unless you have all day LITERALLY and want to listen to the same, three sentence automated hold tone, then THIS IS FOR YOU!!! not happy at all (15 mins now on hold)
I Use all IKEA Products in my Home.. When I bought my first home, I went to IKEA and I bought a lot of things. My table in my kitchen is IKEA, I have a bookshelf, kitchen cabinet, I have eight floating shelves that I bought from my car. They are all around my house in the bedrooms the computer room. My daughter her bedroom has IKEA shelves a TV rack and all the products that I’ve bought for IKEA are over 30 years old and they look brand new, so I will continue to use IKEA products because they are amazing products that they sell the indestructible. Thank you Darlene A Kreutz
Limited. Joined for the planning tools but they are very limited. Wanted info for remodeling a specific sized bathroom, 5 x 8 using standard placement of fixtures and door openings. Exactly what you see for bedrooms and small homes in store right? Right. However the logic doesn’t translate to either the web or mobile version of the planning tools. The web version requires an actual computer! Why not ask for a landline while you’re at it!!!!!! The app/mobile version doesn’t provide the same quality of info about what you are trying to accomplish. For example online you get an explanation of the work triangle in a kitchen to help you make decisions, the mobile version doesn’t provide this info which I have found to be extremely helpful at every stage of budgeting and planning. In addition, there should be equivalent information for bathrooms and any other room in a home, however I couldn’t find anything in the app to help with planning/designing any other rooms in a home.
Could not even register an account. I tried to register an account. The password field would not let me paste a secure password from 1password. Then I tried using 1Password to auto fill a 25 character random password. That failed validation saying it must be over 8 characters. That blocked me from proceeding. I then deleted 8 characters from the password and that cleared the validation (whoever coded this piece of crap is counting keystrokes, not the number of characters in the field). Then I tried to save and got the wonderfully helpful error message “one of your fields have failed validation”. There is no indicator of which field is the problem. I double checked each field, all correct. Still get the error whenever I try to save. Then I unchecked the box saying I wanted to join the family discount club which removed half the fields from the registration form. I tried to save and this time get an error saying that my account already exists! When I tried to login, still get an error. This is such amateurish garbage. Deleting. Don’t trust this app.
Where to start...... Really annoying that the app won’t recognize my existing Family Card account. Had to setup a new account and provide a lot of intrusive information that I didn’t have to provide previously to link my old Family Card account to the old IKEA app. In terms of functionality, I don’t understand the changes they made to the List functionality. UI changes should lead to fewer steps, not more. Instead of simply adding something to a shopping list, like you could in the previous app UI, you now have to add it to the shopping cart and then go into the cart and move it to your shopping list. I’m truly baffled as to why someone signed off on this change to the app UI. There should be two buttons on the product page - one to add to cart and one to add to list. I’m hoping they make this change to a future version of the app.
Won’t be shopping with ikea again. Ordered a couple thousand dollars worth of items for delivery. Paid the delivery fee/charge and scheduled delivery. We live on a military base, so we provided the phone number that’s on the military commercial gate for access. They also had our customer phone number. They requested confirmation of delivery to be completed in thirty minutes. We have them confirmation along with reaffirming the gate phone number. 30 minutes pass and we get an email saying failed to deliver. Strange… they had the phone number for security forces that I provided for access. The gate ALSO has the same number posted for access. (Funny enough, security forces was at the gate in the picture of the failed delivery, so there would have been no waiting) AND most importantly, they did not call me to get information or access. Any one of the 3 options would have given them access. Ikea won’t waive the delivery fee despite making us sit around and miss other plans. They also want to reschedule as if we will waste another day only for an incompetent delivery company to neglect to do the very basic steps involved to be successful. As a result, we have no confidence in ikea’s ability to deliver, so we simply can not choose to order items from you.
Inventory. Your inventory is not up to date. I’ve been looking for a specific item and the location said it had 4 in stock, the customer service rep I spoke to confirmed this with me as well. I drove 45 minutes to the store location in south Philadelphia because the items could not be delivered to my home. I was there at opening and the first one in the door. There were zero on the shelf. The customer service person in store told me the that system doesn’t always update from the day before. 24 hours later, it still says there is 4 in the store. The customer service person in the store told me “maybe” more would be delivered this weekend but the dates are never accurate and I can not put the item on hold. How ridiculous is this?! I should just keep driving 45 mins each way to hope my item will be there and the system isn’t correct and neither is the app. I’m so angry and disappointed in IKEA and I am a long time customer. If I didn’t need this item for my daughter’s dance routine I would never buy this from your store.
Probably the LEAST Customer Friendly APP in Retail. So in one world to describe this app it would be ‘why’. Why can’t you search for key words and find something (note to IKEA, but not everyone or even some people know what crafty names you associate with your products). You took away the ability to even search a receipt or locate a receipt which means I couldn’t not return something because EVEN WITH the credit card that I used your associate still said they couldn’t return it. Why not take it back? I mean it says IKEA right on the front of the unopened package….does anyone ELSE sell IKEA brand? Finally the searching for a receipt even in the old system entirely SUCKED. So using a crystal ball, you have to try to remember when you purchased what and then one by one go thru a receipt. If you want to see a PERFECT customer experience, go to the REI site and become a customer. Search receipts by date, with pictures, with EASY search. Not sure if this is new, but the upgraded website is a tremendous downgrade for customers. Lastly- you make the app so NOT intuitive, that I simply stop trying to buy stuff. I have found items I want, not in stock in my store, but somewhere else in the country. Can you easily order it? Not at all. Could never figure it out. Simply put, you lost a number of sales from me because of this.
Love IKEA Not the App. I just downloaded the app a few days ago and I'm already frustrated. I like to read the reviews of products and as I'm scrolling through reviews the reviews start flashing (not the title bar) and becomes less responsive and gives me a headache. Because the comments themselves are flashing but not other parts of the UI leads me to reason that its a coding problem. No other app i have used has had this behavior. Reasons to like, well otherwise the app seems adequate to browse IKEA's catalog, shop and what not while retaining my data in an app interface as opposed to a web interface. Just that one issue alone though have me a headache which is why i took off a star. It may be a minor issue, but i enjoy reading comments about product usage and i can't do it now or I risk a headache. 😕
Total Frustration. First time in IKEA store was several years ago. Today was the second time, because after spending a good deal time on my laptop last night, searching several pieces of furniture and adding them to my basket, when I tried to check out my basket was empty. It was too late and I was too discouraged to start over. I kept getting a pop up in bottom right corner to request assistance, but it wouldn’t work either... Today, with renewed optimism, I drove more than an hour to the store. All three employees I spoke with about placing an order for a later pick up, gave me different answers. I felt totally alone in that store with no one to help me. After more than an hour I had bed frame, mattress, nightstand, table and chairs, dresser and more on the IKEA app/list on my phone. When I went to “check out “ it started giving me a list of items that were out of stock. I’m left wondering why it didn’t signal that when I was making the list??? I was out of time and too frustrated to go back upstairs and shop again. Home and after dinner, AGAIN, I try to spend my hard earned money on the IKEA app and continue to find out of stocks. Wound up with just a few items and will Not Ever try to shop IKEA again.

Unable to select click & collect location. I want to buy some items from Ikea, in Richmond, and it showed that it’s available from the Richmond store. Due to current restriction the store is only open for click & collect. However, when I check out the cart and wanted to select the click & collect location, it doesn’t allow me to chose other location. The choice of location doesn’t allow any selection but only in Tasmania for click & collect and cost $49. Please fix this Ikea. Or it is just another very useless apps. Disappointed .
Customer Service. The company, at least in Australia, should improve its customer service. I could not get hold of service through call or chat. The chat is available only on the website, and then the agents don’t respond for more than an hour, and when they do respond you don’t get any notification/email. Do you expect customers to stay on the website for more than an hour? The transcript is emailed when the chat is closed, which is just 10 minutes after the agent joins the chat. The call wait times are a joke, I waited more than 2 hours and hung up as i got other work calls.
GREAT VALUE. Love wandering through IKEA - love the room ideas and the range of produces. Always go home with more than I can for but never disappointed. One star less for there on line log in - it is a night mare and just won’t except my email and I only have one so I have to find a store to shop as I haven’t been able to have an account - they send me verification numbers by email but then tell me I need a new one, certainly stops impulse buying.
Amazing app and business.. I thoroughly enjoyed the process of shopping throughout Ikea and when I found out there was an app I was astonished. Now personally I absolutely ‘love’ Ikea as a whole and this process of shopping online saves me time and the fact that they added virtual rooms in this also just helps a bunch. I would like to thank the lord whom created Ikea for such a wonderful experience. Thank you. 10/10 - Kind regards, Callum.
Nice!. Love browsing on the app, planning my purchases before going into the store blindly. Also what’s available on the website might vary between countries as some items may or may not be exclusive to certain countries! Does not affect me though! Love knowing what’s available and accessible instead of falling in love with an item then finding it out in the long run that I’m not able to get it 😭
Good app for get started on ideas. Thank you for the flexibility of our thoughts on getting started on the ideas…my wife purchased a frame for a picture that came with the catalogue. Today I browsed the catalog for ideas and acknowledged there is an app which I’m glad after a while we both agreed on a chair chosen from the app after discussion from the catalog to replace our living room.
Out with the old app, in with the new app. The old app with the blue IKEA icon launches, but then stalls with “server is not responding”. It was only when an IKEA staff member pointed out the correct app has a yellow IKEA icon that I knew to delete the blue icon app and download the new yellow icon app. It would be helpful when launching the old app if that message about being out of date and offering to uninstall was displayed, otherwise all good. 👍🏻
Cannot use the app any more. Unfortunately can’t use this app any more as it requires IOS 14, and my iPhone 6 can only get up to IOS 12. Phone still going well and won’t need a new one for a very long time. Very poor and disappointing decision by the app developers to exclude phones that are not new ones. The decision is against IKEA’s advertised ‘green’ principles; they are becoming less sustainable every day. Trying to nudge people to buy another new phone when one is not needed. I guess that must go for their products too, buying the same item from them on multiple occasions over time is good for their profits and bad for the planet. Maybe I/we should walk away from ikea altogether.
Smooth experience. I’ve really been enjoying the responsibility and ease of use with the IKEA app. While the website is great, when you’re fumbling around in the store looking for an item, or you’re in a hurry and just want the SKU of something, being able to bring up the wish list really quickly is fantastic. After getting the hang of the ‘Scan items in store’ before checkout, which I admit is best learned when you’re not standing at the checkouts 😅, I’ve found that to be a really great experience too. Especially because it shares your IKEA family number with the checkout so you don’t have to dig around for the card or search your number.
What happened to product groups?. This app is much slicker than the previous, and it’s easy to place orders via it. The issue I have with this, which the old app had, was the ability to search by groups of products. I don’t want to shop by room...what if the item I need for my bedroom is actually in the loungeroom section? Not the best way to sort it. Please bring back the groups via products...especially the groups such as small storage, textiles, bookcases, etc.
Feedback for additional improvement (Great app!!). The app is nice and happy we can finally shop. Couple of feedback for improvement. * Missing Services (Delivery and Assembly) price and info. The postcode calculation like on the website. * Location - previous app showed product location right under the name. Here, Too many clicks need to happen to find department or location. Just make it more obvious and simple for customers please! * Show next date delivery - Use from previous app which showed estimated time to back in store - Important- how to know when something issue coming back. * Starting the app- takes too long to load inspirational images in the beginning when need to look up item quickly. * The pop-up black info "items been removed" ribbon stay visible too long. Until that disappears I can't go further or back. * Scanning items has some bugs. * Font size is smaller - make it a little bigger.
Lots of pretty pictures. So what?. I am searching for products that I know you have, to check the price, availability, etc. Despite using many keywords I can’t find them. This app is glitzy but no-where near as useful as the old one.I really relied on the old one for info. about YOUR products. If it’s not broken don’t fix it!
POOR Overall Covid Experience. 1.delivery ridiculously high and not proportional to purchase size as well as logistically impossible to navigate 2. There is a FEE for click and collect?!? WTH! Way to discourage people from shopping with you! 3. Store availability inconsistent and website and app not agreeing 4. Should be able to order from IKEA in general and all items dispatched from wherever they are. Having to shop at one particular store makes it impossible to get all items. 5. Alternatively, items should be able to be loved between stores by stock transfer if people are willing to wait. 6. Overall Ikea lock down experience including the use of the app = POOR 7. Had this been the case in early 2020 - no problem. But we have been in this new ‘normal’ for over 18months now. The fact that Ikea hasn’t troubleshooted and adapted to make a decent shopper experience is disgraceful for a company of this calibre.
Not as simple as it could be (my opinion). A multi national company like IKEA should have this stitched up, yet in my opinion it doesn’t. Every app I have used that allows you to order products through it doesn’t require you to keep getting the order number and your phone number to find your order. It should be simply a case of welcome with the options to “Shop new products” “Order History” “Track Your Orders”. I am also a little concerned that if an order becomes a multiple delivery that it doesn’t seem to recognise that.
However these are small things.
New app. Navigation in your app is difficult and hard to quickly find categories. Your previous version was more intuitive to locate products. Keep your inspiration pages for further down the search list, if you use the app often for research, having to get past the inspiration pages is frustrating. Still, your products are a 10/10, I’m just not too much of a fan on your new app.
Nice app but missing one important thing???. The UI of this app is really pleasant to look at, but aside from that there is one small thing… the fact that I cannot find a search function? I expected this app to be able to be used without being in conjunction with shopping in store. But I cannot search for specific products or just a range of products like the website, (which is very useful). It would be greatly appreciated if they could add a search engine to the IKEA app so I can actually use it and not rely on the website so much, thanks.
Another superb Swedish offering. Love this app, intuitive and easy to use, stands out from other retail shopping apps here in Australia. You can see exactly how much stock is left at your local store, add items to your wish list, and move them to your collection once purchased! Integrates with your membership card and stores all your receipts. Displays product reviews from people all around the world, so much more informative! Another Swedish joy in my life 😍
Very helpful features. Kreativ mode and the AR function are very, very handy. Of course always check final measurements yourself, but it does work amazingly well as a reference to give you a rough idea on what will fit and look good :)) There are of course some changes I would make, a feature where you can select multiple items from the same list at once would be handy for users that want to move or delete lots of items from the list in one go
Go back to basics. This ap gets more and more unusable. Please go back to basics and give us a proper menu to choose from. We don't need glossy magazine features and having to guess what we are searching for. We need what IKEA is known for - practicality. The ap will drive people away. And where on earth are the groceries ? They have disappeared completely. You should have evolved during lockdowns but this ap takes the entire online experience backwards. Shame. I've been a keen IKEA fan since the mid 80s.
App Crashing 100% of the time. I have a new and current model iPhone, its software is up to date, the IKEA app is newly installed and up to date, the phone has been turned off and turned back on, but still this stupid app crashes a split second after trying to open it! I only downloaded the app because your stupid website won’t accept my home address at check out! An address mind you, that EVERY single other website I’ve ever used can find it and accept it! Infuriating!!!!!!
Amazing!. I haven’t ever bought furniture before and don’t really know what to expect as an 18 year old but this app for ikea helps me so much as it shows what is and isn’t available for delivery to remote locations at the time of needing that assurance. Also super easy to manoeuvre and quick respond time of the app itself.
Limited design experience. The app does not really give you access to the whole range of IKEA. I want to redesign my kitchen, changing the size of drawers, changing the doors and such... however, no way to add cabinets and experiment with the layout like one could when visiting the physical store. Not really helpful app if I have to travel 30 minutes to the store and spent 2 hours redesigning my kitchen when I would prefer doing it from home and just purchase online or go to the store to get what I know I want.
Great!!!. Really great and functional way to shop at ikea. There are good opportunities to make extensive shopping lists and this ultimately makes your shopping trip easier. There’s also great features where you can scan as you go, using the app to scan items as you shop. This again will speed up the process at ikea, meaning there’s less time waiting at the checkout. And there’s heaps of other features too like the ability to shop from the app, from your couch! They have delivery and there’s the typical ikea service of having home installation support.. It’s well worth checking out. I’m pretty sure it’ll become a staple app for home and online shopping!
A powerful app that’s good for more than shopping. This app has been instrumental in helping me design and visualise a single room design with thanks to the 3D room scan feature and AR furniture placement, it’s probably the only app I have that makes full use of my phone’s processing power going beyond a gimmick. I’ll likely continue to design my other rooms and slowly turn my house into a home. With the little Swedish I know, all there is to say is “tack så mycket”👊👌😎
Love the scan in store feature.. It is a bit clunky given you must be on the IKEA wifi (unsecured) and it also asks you to sign in but won’t register your family membership card unless you scan it at the register but ah well. Still a great app easy to use.
Winter Home Organisation. What a better time to redecorate the house!! With new ideas and items in the store, I am just inspired to plan and move things around the kitchen. So best place to go is the Ikea app where it is easy to navigate and find decorating ideas and things I need. And of course the next thing to do is to drive to the nearest store and make a purchase!!
A must-have for IKEA fans!. The IKEA app is incredibly user-friendly and makes shopping seamless. Browsing through their vast catalogue is a breeze, and the app’s intuitive design ensures you find what you’re looking for quickly. The AR feature to preview furniture in your space is a standout, and the app’s exclusive deals and easy checkout process enhance the experience. A must-have for IKEA fans!
App checkout is hilariously bad. Adding items in the app puts them in one of two shopping baskets depending on how you add them, but you don’t know this unless you go looking for the items you’ve added. You can’t add discount codes in the app (only at the checkout), and the checkout process itself was such a mess that a staff member ended up doing it all anyway. App-less self-checkout is faster. Then, the app asked me for feedback on the app checkout process, but the feedback screen vanished while I was typing. There is not a single reason to use app checkout. Other than this the app is fine.
Major feature regression makes it harder to shop. I can’t begin to describe just how much I despise the current version of the IKEA app. The current version has removed key features and functionality that were essential to an officiant shopping experience at the store. This includes the removal of the pick list feature, so as you go round the store - you could add items to your pick list, see where they were located to collect, mark them off as collected, and track your spend. The loss of this feature alone makes shopping at IKEA that much harder, and means you’re better off grabbing a pencil and reverting to using the paper lists offered in store. Secondly, the performance of the barcode scanner has genuinely gone backwards. Scanning is far slower than before, and it has real issues with products whose patterns and colour schemes cause the Morri Effect, especially with fabrics. Thirdly, the speed of actions has regressed significantly. On a 5G or store wifi network, it takes a solid 10 seconds to add something to the cart - if only to track your spend given the earlier feature regression has removed key useful functionality. Frankly, IKEA’s app developer needs to be sat in the corner with the dunces’ cap. The app in its current form, with the removal of key features and introduction of major performance issues, should never have seen the light of day.
Very appealing. The IKEA site is constantly being updated. It’s very appealing to scroll through, so much additional information is provided and the shopping bag feature is great. Updated stock levels have been very beneficial when planning. Also, customer service was excellent. I needed a specific screw that was not sold separately. The store organised for additional screws to be sent to my home.
KREATIV is excellent. Within the IKEA App is KREATIV, an app within an app that allows you to design and place IKEA items in your very own room (or one of their studio rooms). It’s really quick and easy to use. Then of course is the ability to shop within store with the App. Scan the items in your trolley or bag as you go round and then avoid all the queue by using the dedicated App checkout lanes. Super easy!
Not a fan. I know with COVID things are not available as before but I wanted a certain office chair and I was assured that it wasn’t discontinued but it’s starting to look like it is. I’ve been waiting almost a year for it to come back in stock and now with the new app I can’t find it and you no longer have the feature which tells you the dates of when items would be restocked and I loved that feature. All you can do is look and shop with this new one which I can do on the website. By the way get Afterpay. I could have gotten the chair if you had Afterpay and now I’ve missed out. Thanks for nothing
New update bad user experience. the new update may looks pretty but it is very hard to shop around and find the category i need. very frustrated and it only display so little items, with that many products in ikea, i have to scroll through soooo long, cant be bother and had to use the website on desktop to find the stuff i want instead. And when i want to find store location/opening hours, it is so super hard to find it in the app, only to find out it is in account. And in there only display the location, who would have thought i have to click into the set store location to find the opening hour time?! Anyway like many other say it is hard to navigate the app. the structure is way user with the previous version
Love the items in stock feature. Enjoying the app for online purchases but to also prepare you for an in store experience. It gives you so much variety and options to wish list and work out which ones you’d like to look at in store. It’s an amazing app!
Great app. IKEA have put together an easy to use, great looking app! Well done! I’m always happy to browse and save my products but buying online is not a viable option as the freight costs with IKEA are ridiculous! They obviously want you to shop in store but when the nearest store is over 250kms away, this is not always an option. Unless you can pick up in-store, the app is only useful for browsing and saving your favourites which does help you to shop in store. But love the app!
Swedish inefficiency. I’m not sure what’s happened to ikea of late but I remember when they were sticklers for efficiency, organisation, and rewarding you with a hotdog for following the arrows. Ikea seems to have decided to ‘glow up’ and focus their attention on looking good and not much else. The app itself was never really any good, but in years gone by they at least tried... This app is skräp! It’s priorities all wrong. Why is it so difficult to search for products, or to put together a pick list. Even a function for digital instructions wouldn’t go astray. Better yet, why has no-one come up with an in app solution to paying for your goods, bypassing the inevitable mile long queues at the two out of twenty checkouts that ever seem to be open. Come on ikea get your skitprat together
IKEA....saving space. Planning on a tiny home trailer to live with my young son, this makes it easy for measuring on the items you actually like...to fit in and plan around...the sofas...don’t have to be contained. I’ve seen others choose the functionality over comfort, due to space contractions. I’m building around my choices, IKEA, comfort and luxurious... and at a reasonable cost. What more can you ask for?
App not working. I’ve had the app for quite some time but in the past 2 weeks it continually displays the following on the top of welcome screen “Something went wrong. Please try again.” When you click on any of the buttons, the app doesn’t respond. I’ve deleted it and reinstalled and still no luck. Hope you can fix soon. I’ve uninstalled the app and reinstalled again, cleared the history and website data in Safari as well, and the issue with the app still persists…
App Navigation. Sometimes a bit hard to navigate. I wish, when you’re looking at an item that you know comes in different sizes, I wish you could select a dropdown to select the others sizes rather than trying to find it in the search. I think this used to be a feature🤷♀️
Wasting my time. Your app shoes stock availability at Richmond, for an item I have been trying to buy for over 6 months but you don’t appear capable of meeting ongoing demand. When I try to order the item - now that it IS FINALLY in stock at a local store - your app won’t allow me to, I can only order from store options WITH NO STOCK AVAILABILITY for the item I am trying to buy. Absolutely no point trying to buy from Ikea, nor use the so-called Ikea family rewards or birthday vouchers. My birthday voucher told me to spend within my birthday month - IN A MONTH THAT WASN’T MY BIRTHDAY MONTH so naturally when I went to follow the instructions the voucher was no longer valid. I have been trying for past 3 months to spend my Ikea family quarterly reward $10 voucher but Ikea cannot seem to stock what I need - haven’t had any stock available since May 2020 and now the app won’t let me collect from where there is stock!! Clearly you do not want to retain customers!! So frustrated!!
Why is it so hard. I can’t find an easy way to view all the products aside from using the search function and even then I feel like I’m missing the range. I go to the home button and shop by room and instead of the menus just have room photos to click on and interact with. I just want to be able to view straight up the entire range for stuff like bathroom items. Not have to click on extra stuff and feel like I’m missing products that I would purchase.
Liz Sunshine Coast - north lakes more stock-. Hi, love the store, but found North Lakes do not get all products, or stock levels on some. I missed out on doonas, that were pop up, short time only, so would love emails about short time products. Missed out. Also did love the magazine, whilst walking around is good, you tend to walk past. Pick up a magazine, and you will see an item , even if you missed it, on flipping at first. Also related to what you need, at the time. Hope this helps, Missed out on the Doona, with leaves all over- yet it was on display- so that was a bit annoying. I really liked it. Also ability to get from another store, because NORTH LAKES does not always get a product /and or get lots of stock. I did not know about the new Doonas, so have to blame myself that is why i would like Emails about one offs please Thankyou Liz Bourne
Clunky search options. Curtains and blinds are entirely different. Why must I get all search results for both? It’s like combining every search result for tables and chairs, they’re similar but not the same. If I have to wade through 300 blinds to find the very few curtains, I will buy elsewhere. Please fix your very clunky search function. I suggest you get someone who needs to actually find something, not the person/ AI who reads the box and provides useless filters?
Saving to list function is broken. The app is decent and runs smoothly, however there is an issue where saving an item to a list doesn't work because the list gets deleted. I've created a new list about 4 times. Unsure if they're meant to be temporary but makes it hard when you want to compare items. I think it would be nice to have physical colour/fabric swatches that can be posted, it's hard to see what kind of material some items are made of and if it will be comfortable and colours vary on digital displays.
Online ordering and Refund card didn’t work. Online ordering site had no “add to cart” tab so I couldn’t use the online shopping site. Had to log into wife’s account, reset password, sign into site - still didn’t have option to add my item to shopping cart. Downloaded app to make the purchase. Inserted card number and PIN number under scratch plate. “Something went wrong” couldn’t use refund card. Poor and frustrating experience 😡
Worse than the website. Don’t waste your time. Was hoping to get a better experience than using the website and was sorely disappointed. No way to work out where an item is in the store. No map of local store. Website allows you to add things to cart and then have the option to shop for them in store and it will tell you aisles and locations to find the items. No such feature in the app. You can add things to cart but only for delivery. There is another cart for in person shopping but no way to add items to it, or move items from one cart to another. Store details page is 3/4 full of the google map image where the store is and the only details beneath are opening hours for store, restaurant, click and collect etc but hard to read because the giant google map takes all the space and cannot be minimised. Surely the map is the least useful thing- no one is using the ikea map to navigate to the store. I had many more complaints but got frustrated and deleted it
Home of Affordable Prices off Products and Meals Available. Hundreds of IKEA Products offers me and ourselves affordable for daily life. This could be for bargain hunters if you're looking for to reduce pressure of cost of living, I shall reccomend this app to download to join “IKEA FAMILY” as a member to offer discounts, rewards. It's so useful to improve my living by organising things, and so do you!
User friendly. Love that I can save my favorites in lists and return to them. I also love that it shows you whether or not the item is in stock at your selected store and gives an indication of how many are available. So easy to use and all your data is saved, so you can return to it at any time.
Works great once signed in but unclear how to add purchases. The app is great but has a few gaps. For example I couldn’t use the designer functionality from the web site through the app, but I also couldn’t add something I designed on the web site into my bag. There also seems to be no way to add a purchase I have made to my account after the fact, unless it was an online order, and it was not clear while in store how to purchase through the app or connected to my account.
Not great if you have various items in cart. I enjoyed adding items in cart, had plenty of them. Upon checking out I am presented with locations that do not work for me. It does. It show other locations because some items are not available in the shops I need. Unlike the website, it does not let you see which items they are so you can chuck or save for later, so now I have to recreate the whole shopping list with the laptop, so using this app for my shopping list was a waste of time, stick with the browser if you are going to have various items.

Pick up options inconsistent. App doesn’t show in store pick up options. Cheers
Looks nice but not as good as the last one. It is harder to filter by category. I would like to see something drill down menus. Table, kitchen, size, extended etc.
Frustrating. When something I’m ordering is out of stock it doesn’t tell me until after I’m in the checkout process and it automatically deletes it from my cart. I’m not ordering until I have everything I want so only one delivery fee. So the next time I try I have to add all of those items back to my cart that were automatically removed, just to find out they’re still out of stock. I’d like the choice to remove out of stock items from cart and would like to know if an item is in stock before the checkout process.
Changement inutile. Pourquoi changer l’app au lieu de faire une mise à jour? J’ai perdu ma carte famille et ma liste d’achats de l’ancienne app. Pourquoi faire simple quand on peut faire compliqué? Ça donne envie d’aller magasiner ailleurs.
Terrible App. Honestly, it’s easier and faster to just use the website to order for pickup. All the staff at our local store confirmed that the all was rubbish after one item was deleted unexpectedly from our order and another item somehow ended up doubled. Spent nearly an hour in Returns with some poor kid trying to figure out how to refund the second item we didn’t want. Deleted.
Cuisine. Très bonne cuisine
Scanning app. The app is not very slow, it’s impossible to uploads a room and it’s taking eternal time to upload, anyway no upload have be ready for the last 2 day
Can’t find anything unless you know the exact name. I just can’t browse and see all the options in one place for something like sofas
Cart. I find the app slow to remove or save things from your cart.
Can’t Open App. Dec.10th. 2025. Can’t open app. Error message says Something Went Wrong. Please Try Again but when retry same error message. Please fix or will need to delete app.
No stock. Maybe remove things not in stock kinda stupid how only 1/8 of the things listed are in stock
cant add gift card to app. Gift card has 19 digits but app wallet only allows 16 digits.
Prices and changes. The items I wanted were on sale for 6.99 and I couldn’t get them as it wasn’t allowing me to get them delivered then a couple days later tjr price went up to 8.99 each and I was able to get the shipped. Not only that but the shipping was 7.00 and now it’s 9.99. I’m Not impressed at all.
Horrible Product. I’m an 18 year-old university student in Nova Scotia and last year. I decided I was going to buy new furniture for my room so I didn’t have to worry about furniture of my own. I saved up and went to Ikea and purchased a $530 bed frame with a headboard and drawers underneath. In just a little over a year, the dowels slid out of the bedframe and it snapped completely. I contacted Ikea explained the situation, provided them with photos, and I was told that they would send it off for decision. I called back after hearing nothing two days later and was told I wasn’t going to be getting my money back. Speaking to a customer service rep on the phone. I asked if there was anything I could do as I don’t have a lot of money, especially in Canadian economy to keep buying furniture that’s supposed to last years. I spoke to him about my problems with the bed in the past year of the dowels squeaking and falling out and how it just snapped when I went to go sit on it. This representative was very great at helping me out and helped me take proper photos and explain in detail for an update on the file. I was then told I’d be contacted with a decision soon. Two days later I called back as I hadn’t heard anything and I was told there was no update. I called again two more days later and was still told there was no update and that I would be contacted the following day. After a week and a half of no updates from IKEA I called and was told that they had made a definite decision that I would not be getting my money back and that there was nothing they could do for me. As a university student with very little money, trying to get through university and save to afford the cost of living, to say, I was extremely frustrated that there was a “nothing they could do” is an understatement. How is anyone supposed to trust the product you sell if the product doesn’t last and when it doesn’t last they can’t get their money back or even an exchange for the frame. The whole process was very distant and I wasn’t contacted at all. I had to contact them despite being told otherwise. I haven’t been able to sleep in my own room and I’ve been trying to figure out an alternate solution given that the frame is still broken. Needless to say I’m leaving a review on anywhere I’m able to and going to any friends and family about the poor quality of Ikea products and even worst.
Everything about it. I went on a item to pick 4 pcs, it didn’t even show quantity...I had to “check out” first & then it never show the correct quantity. I don’t want the items delivered, but that’s the only choice I’m given!! I want to pay & collect!! I’m doing this for friend & I sure won’t be using the app again for myself, or the store.
Impossible to use. This app is very difficult to navigate and use. First off you have to search for any item that you want, you can’t filter the results by dimensions if you have a certain limit to work with. The filters that you do get are pretty much useless. You have an option to sort( relevance, prices and names alphabetically), by colour, price range and materials. Which most of the time is not helpful. So you have to scroll through EVERY. SINGLE. ITEM which is tiring. Honestly stick with the website, it’s better than the app
Would be nice if the Apple Wallet function is added. It would be nice if the Apple Wallet function for the family card is added, so I’d never have to panic when checking out in their store. And also the Apple Pay check out function never works!!
Where are the categories?!. The new version is awful. You can’t search by category. You have to search the specific name, rather than browsing all the options for couches they have. It sucks. Please go back to the way it was.
Frequent update. You know how much of a pain it is when every time you need to access and app and it’s telling you it needs to update. Sorry IKEA but you are not the centre of my world. Iget you software right in the first place so it does not need to be updated every few months.
Great concept frequent errors. Started using the app and loved it. However, suddenly started having issues with logging in, items being deleted from my lists for no reason and incorrect information about whether each item was in stock or not. When trying to do click and collect, it does not show me which items are the issue re availability and a few times my cart cleared out on its own and I had to start from scratch. Spent hours trying to reach phone operator to verify info with varying results, including conflicting info on item availability and terrible attitude as well. Frustrating!
Bugs. Full of bugs! I don’t understand why ikea has to build a new app an not just update the previous one!
Not happy. Very slow and says something is in stock but then I try to go to the checkout and it suddenly says unavailable. Really frustrating.
Lots of errors. This app isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. I can’t seem to add anything to my cart without it reporting errors or “something went wrong” messages. Not ideal to close and restart app every time and then just finding your cart empty all along. Fix it!
Pathetic Shipping. I ordered quite a few items including fragile kitchen items and heavy items like coffee table etc. They charged a hefty delivery fee for that. And shipped everything in a single box. And because of that all fragile items were squashed under the coffee table. Pretty much all kitchen items are damaged and unusable. But their policy says I have to report damage within 7 days. But I opened the box late due to work etc. And simply because of that I have to accept damaged products now. Way to go with such policies Ikea!! I have been ordering pretty much everything from there for so many years. Never again.
Купила стол и стул. Очень качественная мебель
Great store !. Great store ! Great website ! Great quality !
ИКЕЯ. Хочется вспомнить ранее….(ИКЕЯ это не просто магазин мебели ,а какое-то помещение в котором ты можешь отдохнуть и провести день с удовольствием и улыбкой…
Can’t locate me!. Before and after update the location in the app doesn’t work. It can’t search and find the store to be prepare for scanning the items. Two days ago everything was okay and I had a good shopping time but today !!
IKEA. Style, elegance and affordability ☺️
Pony Express Logistics meets Scandinavian Style. Delivery options from 1 to 2 weeks and it’s $20? It’s very hard to imagine in today’s world needing 2 weeks and a bunch of money to deliver to your home. It’s painful that it takes filling your basket w $500+ of essentials only to find they want more money to actually get it to you. Even if you choose pick up it’s $5 and 10 days? If IKEA doesn’t want to do home delivery just say so, like Winners and Home Sense. Don’t tease me with shopping and then slap me in the face. I came for functional minimalism.I left with emotional damage and a shipping estimate from 2007.
No apple wallet support. Email with add to apple wallet does not work. In app has no feature to family card to apple wallet. Please fix
J’adore IKEA. Un réel plaisir de magasiner chez Ikea
Nothing is in stock. I get there are supply issues but then you try to order something that can “be delivered to your postal code” and it’s available to come to some areas but not others? I love you IKEA but we’re 2 years into the great pandemic stock issue, time to figure it out.
Mostly good, but also frustrating. Overall, the app is very good, reasonably well thought out and functional, except in the area of lists. The most frustrating thing is that when you go to remove an item from the list, that you have to open a menu and choose remove item (i.e. there is no favourite button you can simply turn off, or no garbage can icon to touch and delete it), not the best, but the bad part is that triggers a pop-up telling you that you have removed the item and it sits there for three seconds, freezing the whole entire app, unable to navigate or move to another item or do anything in the app until that pop-up goes away. That makes using the app and the lists extremely frustrating both at home and when in the store.
Beautiful IKEA. Love this store , so many beautiful products
Enseigne préférée !. L’App mobile est parfaite ! Mon rêve, travailler avec vous pour faire évoluer vos interfaces utilisateurs web et mobile.
Best in Class 3D planner. I don’t usually leave reviews, but the Room planner feature which lets you add and edit items in your space is very good. Hard to find such high quality software. Good job
Room resizing doesn’t work. Useless without this feature
Good Nav/C&C Frustration. Great app overall. Easy to navigate. The click and collect is my only issue. Not living in a city with an Ikea (also having an Ikea account), when I place an order, the location for pick up defaults to a city that I do not want. Once my location preference is set in my account, it should remain as is, unless I choose to change it.
Nothing is Available?. I see things on the app and they are not available for pick up OR delivery? As far as I can see there is no wait list or option to be alerted when something becomes available? Almost everything I like is not available? Why have it in the app at all then? I feel like because IKEA is so popular they don’t care about providing good service. I’d love to support them and their environmental stance more but when it’s easier just to go to Winners or Homesense….
Poor experience with the app. I’ve downloaded it and deleted it several times on different iOS versions and I still cannot load the application. I love the site and it is easy to navigate however I miss the simplicity of the application. Hoping for an update from the developer soon!
I LOVE IKEA. There’s nothing but great things about IKEA - I just love, love, IKEA!
Excellente application. Facile à utiliser avec plein d’options utiles comme l’enregistrement de nos articles préférés
Glitchy. My first try ordering $300 worth of goods didn’t go so well. When ordering multiple items, even though I selected the multiple from my favourites list, it only put one in my cart. I didn’t notice and checked out. Unfortunately that meant I had to cancel the order and start over. The second try it just kept giving me messages on a black screen between the order steps and I never did get to checkout. In the end I persevered and after 5 tries I finally was able to place my order, but the time it took to do so was unacceptable. I had a lot of hope for the app but will use the .com instead.
Too minimalistic to the point of hindering user experience. Too minimalistic to the point of hindering user experience . I can’t find half the things and order management has so many issues.. so many errors! Unbelievable..
Disappointed with inventory status .. Availability is not clear and makes purchasing hard . Especially when you are trying to furnish a home for a client. If you have none available online or close to your chosen store it would be easier if you weren’t able to put in cart . Several times I have carted products for an entire home to find out 80% is unavailable for online or drop site, or any in store purchase . Should not be allowed to cart products if you cannot get
Easy to use. Love the app and the ease to use. Great way to put everything together.
What is wrong?. I keep tapping ‘View in 3D’ but it never works!
Buggy!. From the emails, the IKEA card cannot be added to the wallet. That feature is also absent from the app, so the app needs to be installed. Issues with quantities with the shopping cart. Went back to using the browser on a laptop.
Kreative. Saved concept goes bad
Adsterra is the most preferred ad network for those looking for an alternative to AdSense. Adsterra is the ideal choice for new sites with low daily traffic. In order to advertise on the site in Adsterra, like other ad networks, a certain traffic limit, domain age, etc. is required. There are no strict rules. Sign up!
⚠️ Read This ⚠️. This is an amazing app the website is just as good but the app itself is amazing i recommended the app over the website it doesn’t have all the adds and links but if you cant get the app the website is just as great. The app is well organized a lot of options the filters are endless and there are a lot of detail the measurements are very nice to have and so are the pictures. The pictures are good quality and the measurements are very detailed. Overall this is a great app and the feedback and response is quick.
Just downloaded the app, doesn’t work. I just downloaded the app to buy some bookcases, but I keep getting errors at every turn. I can log in, but I can’t change or add any addresses without an error popping up. Ok, I live next to a store, so maybe I do pick up instead of delivery. Nope, the store next to me is sold out and, even though delivery has a stupid high price, I can’t even do that if I wanted to because I can’t add an address. T____T jfc, I just want to give you money for a product. I can’t believe there’s no ship to store option. On the last attempt of logging out, logging in, website vs app, now I can’t even add things to the cart. You guessed it... an error popped up. I feel like y’all are doing everything in your power to dissuade me from actually shopping at your store.
The app is not the problem. The app is great if only the information on inventory would be accurate! I check the app before going to the store, to see if the item is available, once I see there is enough, then i go... well I went to the store and no items available...🤬 Same thing when I bought the sofa,The guy that gave me the shopping list in the showroom said that there was a piece in the system that appeared “out of stock”... when I went to the “self service”, just to check, there was plenty... So pleaseeee IKEA, get organized & improve your inventory system!!!
Can’t purchase online. I’ve tried ordering items for pick up on the IKEA app and on their website and continue to run into this issue. I’ve attempted to order multiple different times with multiple cards (all with money on them), multiple days, multiple different dollar amounts, different items, and every single time IKEA is unable to process my payments by saying there’s something wrong with their system. Due to this, I’ve now wasted 30 minutes crafting a list online, plus anywhere between an hour to three hours having to go actually pick up the items in the store because they’re purchase online pick up option doesn’t work. My orders range anywhere from $400-$3000. Extremely frustrating.
App Database. I really like the app BUT…When seeing items on the app, it ALWAYS says “items aren’t available at my store.” I have learned to go into the store myself and not depend on the app. I don’t think it’s fair. People have NOT gone into the store because the app says the items aren’t available. For example, I liked a lamp that was on the app. It says the lamp isn’t available in my store, of course ONLY California stores had it. I took a chance and went into my nearby store. The store employee looked it up. They had nine (9) in stock. What is the problem with updating other stores on the app?? If the items are in the store database, why doesn’t the app say so? I’m Rating this app three(3) stars for that reason.
Difficult to find stuff through the home page.. Menu is difficult to find. Then there isn’t a way to go directly to the product I’m looking for. Search comes up with “not relevant”. At least give me something close to what I’m looking for. Now we have to shop by inspiration? I am inspired to view sheets. Why do I have to look through 50 images of bedrooms? Just give me the option to view sheets. This is the 4th version of the IKEA app to my knowledge, and each gets only 1% better than the last.
Customer Care. I believed that IKEA concern about customer care. But I was wrong. I ordered bunch of items from store for delivery. They sent me items with missing items without any notice. Finally, they did not even give the delivery guys my phone number to contact me! I called them and they said they are going to refund me which already two weeks passed without any refund!! One week ago I order one missing piece from my previous order and they canceled my item one day after my delivery was scheduled! I am very much disappointed! though their in store services are good but appeared worst for delivery and online purchases!
incorrect pickup location. App is showing as stock available in selected nearby location but pickup location is showing a different city during checkout. There is option to change nearby pickup location where stock is available. It is confusing to see stock available in one location but pickup is available only from some other location. Please mention whether item is available for pickup in selected location or not instead of just showing stock availability. Customercare person asked me to try next day morning but no luck.
Nice, but it ain’t the paper catalog. Which, low tech that it is, gives the consumer control over her browsing. Unlike the delicious and satisfying act of paper page turning, Ikea’s app doesn’t let me easily turn to a specific item. Nor does it let me flip back and forth to compare similar items. And, most importantly, the app isn’t conducive to daydreaming about changing the functionality of Ikea products to suit my particular needs. A plus is that products are clearly represented on the app, with vital product info like dimensions. I’m so going to miss you, my paper catalog friend, and the hours of pleasure you’ve brought me!
Website confusion…. This website is so clunky and not intuitive at all. I ordered under cabinet lights and the recommended remote. The remote does not sync. I tried getting another remote—does not sync. I’ve tried to order more lights, but it is confusing which light works with which. It would be easier if it were sold as a kit. Between the Swedish names, the multiple styles, no explanation of what works with what…I am beyond frustrated and annoyed. Maybe it’s just me, but something simple like under cabinet lights should not be this complicated. Even in submitting this review, I am having trouble giving it a nickname (#%+*!!!) who has to name their review? C’mon. Make this easier. Everything seems so easy and fresh and IKEA fun, until it comes to assembly/instructions. Done.
Search function not specific enough. If you’re going to have a search function, it should be good enough that it matches up with a specific request. I was looking for three-way lightbulbs, and it was suggested that I look for TV stands. Really? An international company, meaning you are trying to reach people who speak many different languages, you need to have better international search function. But what the heck, it’s exactly like going to IKEA. Once you’re in the store, even if you know what specific item you want, sales sales reps don’t know where it is, so you can look at the floor model and haven’t a clue on which aisle it is if you want to buy it. You’re lost forever. I guess the low prices are reflected in the lack of customer service.
Online order NYC. I've been waiting to get my online order for two weeks already. Delivery was scheduled for yesterday, and I spent a whole day waiting for it, from 9:00 freaking AM to 9:00 freaking PM and a whole day today. Yesterday ikea customer serves told me that I have to reach a transport company and when I did they told me that they hadn't got my order from ikea yet. So today I was waiting the whole day again. Just spoke with ikea customer service and they told me that they just don’t have some of the items I have ordered and that I have to cancel my order. So I did. It was my first negative experience with IKEA. So sad they haven’t even tried to reach me and let me know. I have spent 2 work days waiting. It’s inexcusable in 21st century.
It should be okay to change my mind. It is frustrating to be unable to easily un favorite an item. I’ve got a favorites list full of things that, upon further review, won’t work for me. Also, it’s frustrating to have to click, go to a new page, click again, go to a new page, & click yet again, before I can learn what my actual cost would be & whether I can actually purchase the item. This app is far from intuitive. I only use it because the website, with page after page after page of completely unnecessary photos, is even more frustrating. You’ve got some of the best designers in the world working for you. You can’t find people to design software?
I love the updates!. I always thought the previous app was more like a digital catalog that allowed in-store guest to access member info and log on to Wi-Fi. The features of the new app allows for a more accurate list of 'in stock' inventory. Further more, the mobile order and pick-up feature simplifies a shoppers experience (i.e., plan a trip to IKEA, order the necessary furniture from home and spend the afternoon exploring the store for accent furniture and decor. Once the car is loaded then proceed to pick-up mobile order items. Not a waste of a trip or afternoon!).
One of the Worst Delivery Experiences I’ve Ever Had. IKEA’s delivery service is an absolute disaster. The dispatch team clearly doesn’t communicate with the operators, and I’ve been bombarded with emails and texts showing completely wrong delivery dates. It’s chaotic, confusing, and entirely unreliable. What’s worse is the total lack of coordination — no one seems to know what’s going on, and I kept getting conflicting information. I wasted hours trying to track down basic updates and never got a clear answer. It’s by far the worst delivery experience I’ve ever had from a major company. I will never order online from IKEA again. I’ve already told my friends to avoid it and shared how unbelievably bad this experience has been. Very disappointing from a brand that’s supposed to be reputable.
Never gonna give you up. Never gonna let you down Never gonna run around and desert you Never gonna make you cry Never gonna say goodbye Never gonna tell a lie And hurt you Just like Rick Astley the IKEA app will never let you down. It offers the greatest selection of IKEA’s furniture out there and all for reasonable prices! Now ladies and gentleman control yourselves because this app is completely free! Not only do you get to see the prices, and configurations of furniture in their app you get to buy stuff as well! It’s just like you’re at the real store (except the real store is 100x times it’s just that this is the closest thing we have to feeling the amazing feeling you get while at IKEA). My one problem with the app is that it’s too perfect, it’s too good. I love it so much I spent my entire life savings on it and guess what. I’m living in a house made of IKEA furniture baby 100% worth it! Again please use this app because we all know it’s the best.
Pick up Options. I don’t have many complaints but the option to pick up is confusing. For example, the app shows 9 of an item in stock at my chosen Ikea location which gave me the option to schedule purchase for pick up last night when I first looked for it but doesn’t show pick up at my store location today? I’m trying to be covid careful and going in to hunt it down and stand in line does not facilitate that. Also, it’s common that depths of products are left off the item dimension specs. It’s usually found somewhere else on the product page but it really should always be in dim specs, in my opinion. Lastly, (not really app related) the delivery cost for large items is perfectly reasonable. However, if I want to buy a few small items I have to drive an hour to pick them up or pay $75 to have them delivered. Maybe consider adding a shipping option. There are plenty of things I’ve bought elsewhere for that reason alone. Thank you for asking for feedback.
Works well. The app works well but 2 things need improvement. First is that you have to choose delivery rather than pick up as your first choice even when you are logged in and the app knows your store. Second, it would be AMAZING these days, since everything is sold out, to know that stock is gone BEFORE you check out! Yesterday I went to buy a bed and desk and it said it was in stock in my store. Went to check out and it said it was sold out. Minutes apart. I was very upset as I had spent an hour trying to discover what was actually in stock. Nothing it turns out.
Basically Roulette. You’re playing design roulette shopping online with IKEA. As you add stuff to your cart the UI will say it’s available. Then the moment you try to checkout the app will demand you rip out tons of items that are apparently not really in stock at all. Finally the true gambling comes. Add the wrong item and boom your delivery fee goes from a speedy $20 FedEx shipment to a multi-week $350 delivery on a truck. Some products are cursed and will always doom you, other times it’s a single extra item on top that becomes your downfall. It’s entirely possible to spend $350 shipping a single $20 item, but it’s also possible to ship hundreds of dollars of products for $20. This can vary day to day, and it’s all trial and error. Play the game a few times and you might walk away with some really nice stuff.
Great app!. Only thing I would change is the scanner for when you’re in store and want to search an item to save on the app for future purchase. I tried to scan every product I was interested in and there were no QR or bar codes on any product instead I had to type in the article number.. which is fine - but I wondered why there was a scanner if you can’t scan the tag of products while you’re shopping! It’d be so much nicer, I ended up just taking pictures of everything and their tags and looking it up later bc that didn’t take as long haha. Otherwise great app!
Who the devil designed this app??. First time I’ve opened up the IKEA app in two years and everything’s changed — for the absolute worst. It’s nothing but clickbait now. IKEA used to be a place where we could finally implement our own designs — not anymore. All we see are the team’s designs. The app no longer gives us a navigation menu so we can just peruse their products and brainstorm, etc. Instead, we either have to pick a room or a design. So now we’re having to bounce all over the place before MAYBE finding something that will sort of work. — funny, in all my searching, I never had the chance to actually buy anything. What a waste. Hope they change it back before they go out of business
Content loading/skeleton screens slow - allow customization in room kreativ. First, screens are really slow to load content. It’s nice to see the skeleton screens/shimmer knowing that something is trying to load.. however, a lot of times I have to click “back” and then click on the item again to get the content to actually load. Allow pull-down to get it to refresh the page without having to go back and then back in. Next is not being able to choose certain colors for customizable things in Kreativ. Especially the BESTÅ system. It doesn’t let you choose different fronts and whatnot so you can see what color combos look like. Please add that in.
Bad migration. The old IKEA app was fun and useful. I can’t even use the new one. Why? Because it did not carry over information from the old one. The App Store is treating this like it has been in use for years but the reality is one day I went to check if an item in an article I was reading was available and the app said “download our new app” with no choice to retrieve anything out of the old app. I had recently realized I stopped getting emails from IKEA because I registered with my old email-an account that I no longer access. No chance to fix that as my registration info did not carry over to the new app. The lack of adequate migration makes me wonder if something was terribly wrong with the old version. Nobody else’s app makes you start over with an update.
App Easy to use, great finds prices, displays, love ikea on line!. I’m having so much fun shopping online, finding more than when I’m in the store because I just can’t walk that much. And I can compare prices so much better this way. It’s an embarrassment of riches. I don’t know which to buy but I can choose one and come back later for the other. I didn’t shop much at IKEA before this but now it’s one of my favorite stores, there’s just so much to choose from and I don’t have to walk and walk and walk because of this online application. Developers you knocked it out of the park.
Unable to update my address and local store.. Model: iPhone XR iOS: 14.4.2 IKEA app version: 2.25.0 I am not able to update my address nor am I able to set the app to a specific store. Error message when specifying my local store: "Unable to change your store." "We couldn't update your preferred store. Please try again." Error message when updating my address: "Error." "Some fields did not pass validation." "Please check information provided." The address error occurs both when I manually enter my address and when I type in the address and use autocomplete to get the rest of the information. Both error messages have been going on for over a year. Not good. While these functions work on the IKEA website, not having them work on the iOS app is a *serious* issue since I'm not able to check what is in stock on the app. This is preventing me from using it. This also prevents me from ordering anything from IKEA via their iOS app. Umm, that’s kind of a serious issue. Everything else is wonderful but these basic broken issues causes my low rating.
Ikea Somehow does it again!. I had been looking for finish materials thru HD and Lowes sites the last year of renovations and never had any positive experience or experiences anything value-added by using their sites. Then I searched Ikea on a whim and they designed the site to “get in and out” quickly if you want -the site is friendly for a user that doesn’t want all the distractions and they even have a user friendly design app that quickly helps a design-impaired and helpless contractor!!
Simply a pleasure to visit.. Make a morning out of it. Have an under-priced bacon and egg breakfast in IKEA’s spotless cafeteria. Just a nice little touch to thank you for showing up. Window shop with a purpose. Make a list of items you recently thought of purchasing. I go first: Need to add a cutting board to my recently acquired travel trailer. Found an attractive oak piece which I could put my router to if custom-fitting strikes my fancy. Win. Next item: My Humana diabetes diet plan includes smaller plates to trick one into eating less. It works. Found some cute attractive, disposable 6” square plates ideal for small RV meals, wine and cheese (and soft jazz music) mood setter with a classy counterpart. Last item: Seen sound bars with wireless woofer (speaker designed to handle deep, low sounds) at other stores to upgrade my RV tv sound. Let’s compare specs with IKEA products. See how it works. Your turn and it’s not even 10 am yet.
Availability and Stock Issues. This is a constant problem with IKEA: you spend so much time planning a room then you can’t get the items. Items say it’s in stock and available at my local IKEA store when adding to my cart. Then when I go to check out it says I can only get the items at stores hundreds of miles away. Who is willing to do that? And this happens immediately after I add to my cart. And this constantly happens. Currently I’m trying to get a rail for a shelving unit I purchased and I have to check the app several times a day hoping this issue is resolved. Even when I call customer service they say to keep checking. Why can’t an IKEA hundreds of miles away mail the item to me or to my local store. Please streamline your inventory and availability IKEA it’s super frustrating.
Wonderful Application Works Perfect. This application works so perfect for all of my IKEA shopping needs. It always has all the products updated and the latest trends that IKEA sells, truly up to date. I love the products and IKEA always has the best deals, if you’re looking for quality household furniture or just kitchen utensils IKEA has it all. It’s simple to fill up your cart in the IKEA application, and when you have finished shopping just a few simple steps to checkout. It’s that easy thanks for a wonderful working application IKEA.
Very smooth, but some frustrations. This new app is definitely much smoother looking than the old IKEA Store app, but there are a couple of frustrating things: - Sharing works weird. If I Share an item, choose Copy from the share sheet, then paste in some apps (e.g., Discord), I get only the item image. If I share, copy, then try to paste in Chrome, it fails. It would be nice to have a Share item which shares *only* the URL. - "Shop by room" on the main page is just a catalog-like group of images. Looks nice, but not super useful IMO. Fortunately, I can drill down to what I want by going to the Search page and hitting "View all" on the "Browse by category" section.
Easy, efficient, andEverything you could want from Ikea without the snacks.. This update makes everything feel smoother, more efficient, more accessible - which is so incredibly on brand for Ikea, I practically feel personally greeted by a charmingly enthusiastic person ready to help me redecorate a home office. Everything about this app update has been smoother and easier so far. I’m excited to use it to check out everything I’m interested in, see what’s readily in stock, and arrange for shipping like usual. This is such a delight! Y’all please give the teams behind this update fond wishes from the heart of Texas.
IKEA app powerful tool. Shopping has become quite a chore for me! I’m nearing 80 and I love the IKEA products. The app is easy to download on my phone and I was able to shop, purchase and have things delivered through the app!! amazing thank you Ikea app. It was necessary for me to move into assisted living and that I needed to purchase some additional furniture to fit my smaller apartment. The IKEA app was my tool and my success story happened. I’ve gotten so many compliments about the furniture and I appreciate how easy it is to use the app again fantastic thank you IKEA
Enjoyable. This app is unique because it offers styling inspiration. There’s tons of photos illustrating the use of their products, including uses the designs hadn’t thought of until after the products were on the market. Otherwise the app is easy to use. I like being able to switch between a list, to two pages that can search products. This allows me to compare items easily. Not to mention the app helps you find products in the store and tells you how many packages are needed to complete your product.
Need better filters. I’m looking for a storage system for my living room. It needs to be 93 inches tall and has doors that aren’t to plain to look like it should belong in my garage. However, I’ve been coming across so many different combinations that would work perfectly, except that they are sold out or out of stock. If I can put a filter for “in stock” or “available now” then I would not waste so much time searching. I don’t mind checking back every so often while waiting for my local store to restock. It would be very efficient if each time my search results came back out of stock or not available that my local store gets notified so they can try to restock the supplies customers are interested in purchasing.
User friendly. I’m happy to discover that IKEA has adjusted the options for customers to choose between delivery, shop in store or pick up. I don’t know when they actually made the adjustment but I myself haven’t considered using IKEA online because of the policy they used to have. I live in a different state than the recipient of my current order and instead of gift card option only, I now have a chance to choose the gift(s) I want to give. I’m very pleased and will be recommending IKEA to family and friends!
App & Store is useless!. On the Ikea app. Says I can have said item delivered or picked up from store. That's great, until you actually go through the checkout process. Item is in stock, yet I can't pick it up, pay online, or have it delivered. I call customer service and was told I'd have to pick it up from the store... ATL store- 15 items of said product in stock but not in reach on the shelf. I spoke to an employee (who was nice) and was told they only put out a few of the supplied quantity and I'd have to come back tomorrow because they'd need a forklift to get the rest from the top shelf. Ridiculous! I don't get it. You have a product that is known to move fast and you limit the quantity purposely and tell customers to try again tomorrow. Talk about a horrible experience. Wasted time and gas to get the run around.
Terrible App. Perhaps worse than the website, but maybe not because both are equally terrible. I think they should allow people to build the app themselves and maybe it would function better. The “in stock” is wildly inaccurate. You cannot save your profile with an IKEA Projeckt card. When you want to pick up in store, that option doesn’t appear. Freezes constantly. I finally called the number, which wasn’t easy to find through the app, and they attempted to explain that the app was terrible and that it basically shuts down if something isn’t in stock but doesn’t tell you that. I then explained that I wasn’t calling to help them fix their app, I just wanted to buy something. And to please let me know if that was possible. All around, IKEA fails on all electronic platforms.
Liked old app better. I am a longtime customer of IKEA. I enjoyed the old app much better than the new app. I am finding it more difficult to find what I am looking for......too much hunting to get to where I want. However, it is new to me, so it might just take some time to figure it out. As a loyal customer, I will keep trying, especially since you just shut down the old one. I had so many things in my list, so I’m a little disappointed about that. Perhaps it’s still there, but I haven’t found it yet??? Another note: while attempting to submit this review, so far I’ve tried five different “nicknames”, and they’ve already been taken. Why do you need a nickname?
Options Missing. I would like to see options for furniture listed with each item. So if a bookcase can utilize a door then I want to see the door listed with the bookcase as an option. Instead, you show completed combinations as a separate item, which makes it harder to know if additional items are needed or not when combining things together. For instance, the billy bookcase can have a solid door and glass door in a combined package, but I would assume I could just as well buy s billy bookcase and two solid doors, but because it’s not shown as an option it makes me question if that’s possible.
Items out of stock. I went to the Canton, Michigan store on March 18 and had a list of items that I wanted. I live in Grand Rapids, Michigan which is over 3 hours away and so it’s not an easy or convenient trip. When I got to the store, they had hardly any of the items I want. I was told to try buying the items online. I have tried that for the past almost 2 weeks and, even though it says it’s in stock, I am told to remove it from the cart because it’s not in stock. I was told after contacting customer service about it to try online again every few days which I have done and still nothing. It’s very tiring and frustrating not being able to purchase things that they say are in stock. Why are the items shown on the website if they are not actually available?
Preferred the older version - easier to use, more useful info. I actually liked the older version better! It gave me info about my store location like: busy, non-busy times throughout the day, specials for my store, and the in stock/out of stock/expected restock dates. Granted things have been all over the place w/the pandemic but I could at least plan out my trips. Now I don’t even have an idea of when stock will be back for certain items on my list. I also don’t like how difficult the shopping list feature is now. You used to be able to tap the heart to unselect an item but now I have to go to the list and click through prompts to remove it 😞 would much rather have the older version back
Why did the favorites list functionality stop working?. I had several lists. I was checking them regularly for inventory at my local store (where inventory on the items I want has been low) and today my lists are gone. I can’t find the new list I created tonight even though the app says I already have a list called that when I try to set up a new list with the same name. Please restore functionality! Update: my favorite lists are back and working again. Thank you!
A little confusing.. The “shopping cart” feature looks like a hat rather than every other shopping cart icon anywhere else. When I clicked on things in my “favorites“ it put a check mark that I had added it to my shopping cart but then the checkmark disappeared so I couldn’t tell what I had it added and what I hadn’t . I tried to do store pick up. It just said that it wasn’t available but didn’t explain why and, therefore, had to pay an extra $50. They could have put a note or a link. After doing my own research I finally figured out that you can’t visit their stores right now due to Covid-19. It told me that one of the items was not in stock (in the store) so I had to take it off of the list. Since it turned out it had to be delivered anyway it could’ve been left on the list and shipped from somewhere else. 🙄 My sister made a shopping list and emailed it to me. When I added it to my app, all the quantities went back to 1. I’m sure there are other quirks but I am done doing their beta testing for their app unless you want to pay me for my time.
Simple shopping. I love the quality of ikea outdoor and indoor furniture! I just ordered another outdoor bench. First one many years ago and still intact! Acacia wood so sustainable and eco friendly no rainforest tree died for my comfort! Just needs oil once a year to keep strong and beautiful. Indoor only needs damp cloth . I also have the outside table matching the bench. Same care. This bench is going to my personal home. The other is at my daughters indoor patio. Might need a little sanding and restrain next year since exposed to sun in Florida at certain times of the day but has not affected the wood structure after 10 yrs!
Easy to use.... I had the older app before and probably didn’t know about this feature, but logging with your Ikea Family let’s you see all of your purchases and it is convenient to go and search for specific items you will like to buy again or simply suffer on how much you have spent on Ikea. It also remembered my Ikea, well is not mine I mean the one I go but is ok if you go there I guess. Giving 4 stars because I don’t remember the names except for Kallax and Alex so it was nice the older app but if you are a visual person, you still will find what you like, want and probably don’t need. Hej!
Don’t buy online from IKEA. What’s the point in buying stuff online if you are not holding those products in stock for the people that pay for it in advance? Every time I order something from Ikea (days in advance), a few hours before the pick up, my order is cancelled because “it’s out of stock”. You’ll see your money in a few days and who cares if you drove 100miles to pick up your stuff, we’ll send you an email and let you know we’re out when you’re here for pick up. Logistics need huge improvements with the consumer’s interest in mind too not just your company’s! If you need something from IKEA, buy it in store, website/ app are useless.
