Needs Better Instruction. Silly that u can’t punch in at 7:23am. Not able to be paid until 7:30 am anyway and sh be able to have a 7 minute buffer as opposed to a 1 minute buffer. Also, have to struggle to figure out how to simply punch in/out the time on another screen if u accidentally punch in late bc you are being given instruction by the coordinator. That causes the coordinator extra work. Liked the Kronos.

Not terrible. There are some annoying bits. It doesn’t always let you look for specific schools that you want to work for. Schools frequently have a hard time finding me via my ID number, and It takes a really long time to load. With that said, it works on an iPhone 6 and it does the job it’s meant to do you just have to be patient. Look for work while you’re making coffee or loading the washer and eventually it’ll open. :)

Frustrating. The site does not tell what position a teacher is teaching. Many substitutes want to know what grade or subject they are agreeing to teach. The notification of a new job does not immediately notify you that a new job exists. It only notifies you if a job has not been taken for some time and I haven’t been able to determine how long that is. It is not user friendly to enter a non work day. The calendar is small and a job is noted by a bold numberCar which is sometimes difficult to see. Frontline was so much better on every level.

It would be nice to be ableTo separate the days. Often times I am seeing shifts going unaccepted. So many of these, I could do the middle of the 3-day request or the first but not the last, etc. And rather than having no one help at all, it might be beneficial to allow the days to be split and have a better chance at getting coverages.

SmartFind express difficulties. The app is so so sooo slow. When login in to look for teaching jobs at my district the app takes almost 20 minutes just to login in. Reloading the screen for any new job postings also takes a long time which I didn’t experience any of this issues last school year. For some reason this school year the app has just been slow which is a big inconvenience.

Waited four years for this SmartFind Express app. They should have created a SmartFind Express app a long time ago. It is much faster than logging in on the website. I would suggest some updates or a faster notification when each job assignment appears so that we do not have to rely on checking the website every single time.

Whew…this is so much better!. The mobile app is so much better than the old one. The only thing is we were without a working app since the roll out of iOS8 and the new app is ONLY surpassed by the laptop/desktop version. Good job! Is it perfect? No, there is always room for improvement. I think the functionality of this app could be expanded (thus increasing it’s value) using current technologies, to make our jobs easier, especially when it comes to the increase in security since the tragedy in Uvalde. Thank you.

The best!. I was kind of reluctant to add another app to my phone, but changed my mind after numerous calls as a sub. I love the ability to accept a job without the hassle. I also enjoy being able to review my assignments as many times as I want. Love this app.

Great !. This app has been a life saver. I work almost every day of the week in many different schools with different start times. It would be a nightmare to try to organize my schedule without this app. Everything I need to work as a substitute teacher is at my fingertips.

Slow moving and unreliable. Every time I search I have to apply filters for location. In such a large school district, it’s be nice to be able to have filters set since we tend to sub in certain areas. Also, if we want to start a new search, we have to wait a set amount of time before it will let you do it. Why?!? And for a week now, jobs for the school I sub at won’t show up. I reached out to the district and they say it’s a glitch that smart find has at times and there is nothing I can do. So now I can’t see jobs where I’m able to work. That’s a problem.

Missing some options. I would like the ability to email or text the contact to ask questions before I accept. An interested button would be nice to allow for the questions to be answered before I accept or to signal school to reach out to me. Some days I could be available for a partial shift and I would like to be able to easily communicate that interest within the app.

It works sometimes. This app is not the greatest and the website is just as fickle. It is a good resource though when it is working : to see available jobs and their locations, view your active jobs and check in as well as check out, and see your completed/finished jobs. I like that it does give you the option to filter results and view any instructions if left by the school or teacher. The website is faster and more responsive. I’ve experienced with this app though that it does not load completely , my active and finished jobs list will be empty the entire day up until 20 minutes before shift starts and if it’s still empty I must use the website to login and check in. I don’t like the loading speed of the app either but it does populate with available jobs if you wait for the loading circle to disappear. I do not take calls from smart express - I solely use the app to schedule my shifts and when it’s time to check in , If I can’t on the app, I use the website.

Does Not Send Job Notifications. My school district switched to this system last year. I can not even begin to describe how frustrating it is to not receive notifications for jobs. I am set to receive calls and notifications at all times, but it rarely happens. When I am requested for a job, the app does not notify me. Logging in every ten minutes every day to see if jobs are available isn’t practical, uses data to send me text messages to verify the log in , is time consuming and frustrating. School has been in session since August and out of all those days the system has called maybe 20 times which equals to about one fifth of the time. In addition, the app rarely sends me a pop up in regards to jib notifications.

So bad I’m writing my first review ever. This app is so egregiously horrendous and I’m so absolutely fed up that I’m writing an App Store review for the first time in my 12 years of iPhone ownership. It logs you out in the middle of using it CONSTANTLY. Constantly. I can’t set my availability, scroll through available jobs, literally ANYTHING without getting randomly logged out in the middle of using the app. It’s infuriating. And it’s not like there’s a minute or even a few seconds of inactivity—I’ll be actively trying to move as fast as humanly possible to finish what I need to do before getting logged out but every 30-60 seconds I’ll click on something and get the dreaded screen with the long error message and forced back to the district selection page. It makes me want to flush my phone down the toilet. I REALLY REALLY hope my district will consider switching to another hosting platform like frontline, because this app is so comically horrific that it feels like they’re actively trying to prank us. There’s no way someone whose job it is to make apps and gets paid actual money to do this could have possibly effed this up so bad. I truly despise and resent you, SmartFind express.

Works but needs enhancements. While the app works well for finding substitute jobs, it can be improved. First, make the filter selections permanent so the user doesn’t have to select them every time after logging in. Second, enable notifications so jobs fitting the user’s criteria/filter selections can automatically be sent via text or email. Third, it often takes several seconds to conduct a new search, so the user has to wait for the system to reset. This also should be corrected if possible.

Not User Friendly or a time saver. Very subpar to Frontline app. Archaic experience. Every time you log on you have to go through steps to filter for the schools you wish to work at. Seems no way to lock in your school preferences. Logging in, filtering, is time consuming when you are having to compete for jobs. With Frontline, jobs can be easily linked to your cell’s calendar; not so with SmartFind; a must if working multi districts. Wanted to link my Frontline District with the SmartFind District but seems can’t be done. Log on time, no multi district view, and having to manually load jobs to my cell calendar is a problem. Too easy to make a mistake and book 2 schools same day. Rethinking working for a district using SmartFind. Too cumbersome.

Jobs won’t load. The job search for substitute teaching jobs is taking several minutes to load, then comes up with an error message of unexpected interruption. This is very frustrating when you are trying to book in a popular district that several substitutes want to work in. I’m missing job opportunities because the app won’t load. Out of a 12 hour day, the app seems to be loading jobs 2-3 times. I’ve tried to load in several different areas, full signal bars, and even wifi; it just won’t work right. It used to be a great app, but the last few months have been awful.

Great, handy app!. I love the SFE app! It’s so much quicker to bring up than the online version! Even quicker than waiting for a phone call! I often just not accept the call and go right for the app! If you’re a sub and have access to the app, give it a try! 😊

A sub’s best friend. What’s great about this app is everything you need to stay organized is right here in one place: a calendar, new job offerings, jobs you’ve accepted, plus everything you need to know about each job assignment. No more post-it’s or other ways of keeping track of your week. If you’re a busy substitute teacher like me, you’ll love this app and all its practical features.

Check In/Out. I enjoy using SmartFind - generally. However, I have one major concern. Specifically , the checkin and finish job feature have issues. ThThere needs to be improvements within this system. Moreover, when I enter my check in time, it seems to change automatically some point later. It is critical that I always chk my hours by the weekend. Pls try to improve this feature of SmartFind. Thank you .

Not remotely user friendly. This app could not be any more frustrating! It takes forever to load and 80% of the time I’m receiving an “Unexpected Exception” message and the available jobs won’t display for hours (the website is just as bad). Whatever changes or updates they made really messed things up. Go back to the old format; at least it was reliable. Other subs are also having similar issues. I have tried everything! Updating to the newest versions on my phone, uninstalling and reinstalling, etc. and nothing is working. Ugh! :(

Ugh. Frustrating. Can’t find “help” feature. Want to change filter for date range. It defaults to a two week range and I need to plan me life out further than two weeks. I constantly have a problem with this. Also, if I cancel a job I would like a field to write a reason other than the list given, or even an “other” choice.

Works okay but could use some improvements.. The app works great for picking jobs. It’s simple and straightforward. However, my only issue is with the phone calls. If your call availability is set for a certain time period expect to be called frequently and often back to back. You can however set no call availability and accept jobs whenever you browse what’s available. The only issue is that if a teacher requests you it will not call you or give you a notification. If you enjoy working with a specific teacher it’s far easier to communicate through phone and instead have then assign you to the position directly rather than you accepting through the program.

Love the app but….. I love the app but I miss out on jobs without push app notifications. Our previous system had notifications sent to our phones and I worked every day. While subbing I don’t have the time to log in every 10 minutes and check for available jobs. I used to get notifications on my watch and could reach my phone and accept. I know several subs have complained to our HR department about this issue and pleaded with them to go back to our old system. Hopefully notifications become available soon!

Substitute App for Lee County FL. This app takes longer to navigate than the previous one we had last year. The second top bar on my app is missing, no way to place do not call dates, so I have to turn off my phone to avoid getting calls at 5 in the morning and 6 in the evening. In addition, no way to cancel jobs, if needed. Also, it tales too long to load jobs. This app is not user friendly at all. The app we had last year, everything was right there when you signed in. This is the worst app I’ve experienced in my 14 years as a guest teacher.

On the fritz?. Typically this app doesn’t give me too many problems. Aside from taking a while to load… But today, for some reason none of my active jobs show on the app, despite the fact that I know I have jobs for this week, and it’s only registering the press of my finger for a certain sections of the app. For example, I’ve tried updating my schedule availability, but when I press the Save option… It doesn’t register it at all, but it seems to be perfectly fine with me exiting out of the page so that I can go back to another section of the app without having saved the changes I made in the first place. Anyone else having this issue? I have been on top of updating the app and I do have the most recent iOS on my mobile devices… I don’t know if maybe that might be part of the issue or not but…?

Horrible. It’s nice to have an app on your phone to access smart find, but it is incredibly slow and doesn’t always load. I have to wait 5-10 mins sometimes for a page to load. Specifically my personal calendar and my specific search details. I’ve been using it for a month now and on WiFi and no WiFi has not made any difference. The convenience of the app is no longer relevant because it is not longer convenient, it is a hassle and I loathe using it.

Download issues. I accepted a job. I got a notification that it had been modified. When I go to the job there is a button to download instructions. When I download it, I can never find where it has been downloaded. Where do I look for that info? I have an iPhone XR.

Lousy app with poor to non existent support. The mobile app provides little help for Subs. To specify an ongoing day each week that I am Unavailable for jobs should e done in Profile Settings. When I set that I am unavailable on all Wednesdays I am still getting calls and texts. The online system does not reflect my preferences that I set in Mobile app. Using Filters is another problem. Instructions are unclear as to whether I am selecting preferences for Locations or eliminating Locations for potential jobs. Lastly, you can’t find anyone to call at Power School who supports Smart Find Express and it is not in their list of products on web site or IVR answering menu.

Don’t receive the job offers. It is frustrating that when you booked for a job I don’t see the other available options for the same day/time in case i want to change the job or location etc, i have to cancel the accepted job first to see the other available jobs for the same day/time, please correct/improve this fault, thanks

Loading and Filters. It takes a very long time to load/ refresh. When looking for an assignment or when asked if available for a specific date… can check immediately because it takes a very long time to load. Filtering to a specific school is very complicated. Finding a specific teacher is practically impossible.

Rarely Loads Properly. I have been using this app for a year now. It is great in theory, however the app rarely works properly. I have to wait for it to load and then it tells me I have to wait 10-5 seconds to refresh the sub openings. Last night the sign in page did not work for 10 minutes. It would be nice to filter by location but that feature doesn’t load properly either. While this app looks like it has a lot of features that would be valuable, they are only for show. I wish my district would find a better option!

Not user friendly. Takes forever to input do not call times, set up for text notification- STILL do not get texted when a new job is available, can only get an alert from the app and they are delayed and often past job start time. No grade level indication on jobs. Nice concept but whoever designed it doesn’t actually use it.

Awful. This app will crash constantly, takes forever to load jobs when you scroll down. One time it deleted all of my upcoming jobs and I had to delete the app and reinstall it for it to work. It won’t let you sign in at least 5 minutes before which is awful because when the bell rings, I have children in the room and the last thing on my mind is to sign in. It’s also not user friendly for administration and they have had a hard time adding in jobs.

Needs Updating. Been trying to log on all morning for teaching jobs I have lined up this upcoming week. Continue getting an Error message that says “ERROR: Please update your version of SFE Mobile.” However, there isn’t an update available. I have restarted my phone numerous times and deleted and reinstalled the app. That has not worked. I’ve been using the app for a year, so I know it’s not user error. Prior to this, the app has been great. But they need to fix this issue asap. Thanks.

Could be improved with some key features. Would love to see the following features: - access to full settings available on desktop - ability to sync with google calendar to instantly set unavailable dates and to add assignments to my personal calendar - ability to ask questions about an assignment within the app - ability to only get app notifications and no phone calls

Will spam you if you link a phone number. This is a terrible app. Their service will spam your phone with phone calls (I received 20 calls in less than 20 minutes). I ended up blocking the number altogether while I was getting spammed at dinner, BUT even that didn’t work. Apparently, blocking a number on an iPhone will still allow them to leave a voicemail. I quite literally had my voicemail box full for weeks and didn’t know because once I blocked the number, the calls weren’t showing up but could still leave voicemails. After having blocked the number, I had 32 voicemails from SmartFind Express, all were from the same day. What a pathetic system. I shouldn’t have to adjust my do not call hours to avoid this, as even during the hours I would want to be called, I dont want to be spammed like that. I reccomend logging onto the website and deleting your number from your account altogether. There is never a call time one would want to be spammed like this.

Substitute Teacher. App needs to offer an area that gives only a start and end day. This app “makes” you start and end a break….even if you didn’t get one! I worked with Autistic Kindergarten students for two days in a row. I didn’t have a break. I sat with them at their lunch table to help open their containers, drinks, etc…. I also had to constantly get up and chase two children to bring them back to our lunch table.

Helpful App for substitute teachers. Thank you very much for this app. It helps the guest teachers to choose the job they can do or they are interested in. At this time I couldn’t think of any suggestions to improve the app. However, as I use mire, I will definitely contribute providing feedback on how to improve. Good resource that adds clarity. It’s helpful to be able to track down positions as a Substitute Teacher, but the app could be more streamlined; currently, I can select specific schools under Locations on the web page, but not on the app (The only option that shows up is All Locations). A map of the area and available positions would be a fantastic upgrade to better understand travel times associated with the particular position one is looking at relative to our respective home neighborhoods. The loading times for active jobs are about as painful as the cutscenes for the remake of Chrono Trigger on the PS1.

Works OK. So far have been enjoying this app… Except a times out very quickly, which can be irritating and I wish that if you were to pick specific filters they would be applied for as long as you needed them to be so you wouldn’t have to keep applying the filter every time you do a search

Poor Usability. I agree it’s frustrating to use on your phone. It won’t load all the jobs available at once and makes you scroll up and wait 5 seconds before trying to scroll down and load more jobs. Before I figured out this hack I spent hours frustrated that I could only see jobs coming up immediately and could only get jobs for say May to load sometimes before the system kicks you out, makes you re-login and start all over again at the top of the list trying to load jobs future months. You need a filter by date function as well as location and teacher.

Not User Friendly For Substitutes. Has stopped working at all! I’ve contacted my tech support and they confirmed that it’s nit working and it’s now necessary to use the website rather than the mobile app….This app requires a tedious logging in and a range setting every-time you want check for assignments. The filters need to be reset with each log in. It is so time consuming when all you want is a very quick check for available assignments. Further, it has no ability to push notifications that an assignment is available! So antiquated! Best I can guess is that it must be more “cost effective” for the school district over other, more efficient, applications.

Missing features. It would be nice if the app would have the feature where we can search for assignments and not just seeing the active/non active and past assignments. At the end, what is the true purpose of this app that will only take up space in my phone and it only works for seeing assignments that are active, past ones, and canceled one. It also have the options to cancel an assignment which is good thing.

Super helpful, could be even better. This app is the only tool I use for jobs and I sub every day. It’s easy to use and has some great features. I love the calendar, but it could be even better by going back to show past jobs as well. That would make double checking my paychecks so much easier. I don’t love that I have to refresh it constantly. I’m stalking that thing all day, every day. I would love to get an instant push notification when there’s a new job.

Improve it already!!. Finally the app is available to us but there is much room for improvement. A search feature is a must. Second, how about the courtesy of a phone number or even an email address for questions? The available job list also does not refresh. By that I mean if there are 10 jobs when I leave the app without closing it - there are still 10 available jobs when I bring the app back up 2 hours later. The problem some of those jobs were taken but the app failed to refresh the screen.

The worst. This new system is horrible. I’ve edited my filters to the specific school I sub at and I still get job postings and phone calls for all of the schools in our district. The first night I received 10 calls in a row and not a single one was for the school I work with, and I had already excepted a job for the day they were calling me about. Getting my profile set up took 3 weeks and there is no help from the website/ app nor my school district. 10/10 would NOT recommend!

User Friendly Idea. The app is very useful. The one thing that’s frustrating is that it requires the user to sign in with a password every time I check for jobs. It would be so much easier to use if I didn’t have to sign in, or if it sent me a notification when a job pops up. I used the jobulator app in another state, and it was much easier to use that way.

So hard to log in! Updated after a year of use.. I don’t understand why I would need to log in literally every single day on this app. It’s terrible. And the constant phone calls and voicemails. This should be streamlined and not something that takes several minutes each time to log in. I love subbing but I hate using this system. One year later: it’s still terrible. My school system is now using rapid id to login and I have to keep accepting permission FROM THE APP to use it. Then it has multiple screens to input login information. How is that any more user friendly than before? You should have a system in place that will remember login information on trusted devices. I should be able to see more than a certain date in the future on the list, I shouldn’t need to comb through the calendar view to see all the dates for jobs that are in the future. As someone who can’t work spontaneously the day of because I have to schedule childcare this is a terrible system that prevents me from working as much as I would like to. I literally would never see the jobs in advance.

Keeps freezing. Keeps freezing and my jobs don’t load up some days. The location look up freezes and I tap and tap on it and nothing happens! I get calls from all the Broward County school board and when I log in all the available jobs in Broward come up instead of the “location” I have chosen on the app and System. It didn’t use to be like this until Kelly Education took over. At this point concerned that I am going to show up at a job site and won’t be able to check in since my jobs will not load on this app.

Bad update. Ever since the update I now have the inconvenience of having to put in a district code every time a login which is a total waste of time at least before it used to automatically be saved and just had to put in so much for an update to fix bugs!

Terrible App. Very slow and non responsive, takes forever for it to change sections when tapped.

Not as good as the website. This app often freezes when I try to scroll down to look at more jobs or it won’t load all the jobs (I try to scroll down and nothing happens). Also it signs me out and a whole weird box with text appears at the top of the sign in page. And you can’t see the teachers name with the jobs when browsing. Not a fan of this app at all. Bring back the website please!

Dialler keeps calling all the way up to 10 pm. Multiple times a day

Update review. This new update is awful. I have to type in my district code and log in credentials each time I log in, which wasn’t the case before. After logging in I’m not even able to use the app because it just says “ fetching data from server”. I have deleted and re-downloaded the app multiple times but it hasn’t fixed anything. I’m now stuck using the desktop version which is much less convenient

Reset ?. Great app . Maybe I’m missing something but I feel I have to exit the app and restart it to get new listings . What am I doing wrong ?

Takes forever to load; constantly glitches. Even randomly logs you out right as you’re about to accept a job, making you lose it

Please utilize the available section in my school district.. This app tells me what jobs I have completed but my school district isn’t using the app to its full extent by listing available positions. They are still calling out, in the phone, the positions as they become available. As a relief worker it is not convenient and I have no idea what schools are in need of help in advance. If they listed the shifts I would be able to go to the schools that are closer to my location and more suitable for the grade level I am interested in working with. It would also be less annoying than getting calls all evening and morning.

slow updates. The app is too slow with updates!

Update. The update does not allow you to save information. Each time I open the app I have to add district code and log back in. As well the font size is larger than the screen allows you to view. New fix needs to happen.

Features request. Features I would like include - iCalendar integration so that the schedule can be imported and updated with I calendar and/or automatic integration with Google calendar so it can be imported that way to the phone.

Bug fixes ruined app. When I first signed up for this app in September it worked perfectly. Now when I sign in, it doesn’t go straight to available jobs, it goes to active jobs and keeps saying it’s fetching data. I have to keep exiting and going back in until it works. Very annoying! Please fix this.

Convenient. Very convenient way to pick up supply jobs while away from my computer, however it would be nice to have a teacher function to create absences. I still have to log into a browser to do that.

Does not work. I have not been called all year for work, only for cancellation. This app is BUGGY! I have tried to get my board involved but they truly don’t know what to do. This is a very flawed system, they are not calling many many many people. If you trust your schedule to this app you will be left disappointed . You must go on the job Board & find your own shifts as this rarely calls out.

Not user friendly!. Apply to Ed app for another board is so much better! SmartFind makes me log in every time and won’t save my filters….so frustrating! There must be a better way….

Very stressful. I don’t seem to get texts for work. I’ve tried everything! It won’t let me verify my phone number because when I try to save it, it disappears. I’ve been trying to get help from my board for a couple of weeks now. In the meantime, I can’t make any money :(

Educational Assistant. Very convenient and user friendly. Don’t have to sign in again and again.

Amy and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad App. For the life of me, I cannot get this app to load. It takes so long to log me in, and then I can’t load the available jobs page. I continually get an error message saying, “unexpected exception.” Has not been a good experience so far. Hoping things improve soon!

This app needs a big upgrade. I used to use this app which used to be responsive and reliable. At 5:30 over the last two weeks, all I get is error messages and no jobs. It is slow and unresponsive. Especially at 5:30 when it appears it cannot handle the traffic of users. I have reached out for help but it is was not resolved properly or fixed. It needs an upgrade and doesn’t seem capable of handling many users searching for jobs at once. I also do get any calls now for jobs some reason. So frustrating.

Make it easier. This app could be made substantially easier by making it more intuitive in a manner that is not computer geek intuitive.

Second rate. We fall behind, because people who get phone calls for subbing get first priority and we are put on hold or put behind the list, not fair, will probably go back to phone calls! Losing jobs because of this!!

Review. I like the app. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because it would be really nice if the calendar for submitting unavailability had the days of the week as well, or be set up as a monthly calendar that could be clicked on like when you book a hotel or plane ticket.

Texts>phone calls. Randomly started receiving phone calls instead of texts and don’t have the option to turn text notifications back on in the app. Extremely annoying.

Horrible System. I hate this app, it has only gotten worse in the last year. It takes forever to load (up to 2 minutes) only to say there is an error. It never shows any available jobs because of this, so it’s basically useless to me; which is unfortunate because it’s literally necessary for work. I constantly want to throw my phone when dealing with this stupid app.

Slow starting the school year.. Not sure what’s going on, because I’ve always had great experience with this app. However, I’ve found since the school year began this month, the app will not load or take several minutes to simply just log in right when jobs get posted. I’ve lost out on several jobs because of this app so far this year because it takes forever to get through the screen to select your district, and forever to get logged in. It just spins for several minutes. By the time I’m in the jobs are considered “old” and the list needs to be refreshed to update what’s available. Even the refresh takes SEVERAL minutes. I honestly believe the app just can’t handle the massive amount of traffic right when jobs get posted, because half an hour later (once 99% of the jobs are gone) it’s working as normal.

Will Not Load, Mobile or PC, Lost Money. Horrible App for on-call casual and substitute positions. Does not load, unexpected exception, lost assignments = lost money. SFE keeps saying they have fixed the problem, every time they “fix” it, it gets worse.

Please fix the upgrade. As others state, the recent “upgrade“ has made this app almost useless. You have to enter the district code every time you open it. Ridiculous!

Slow. It takes usually a long time to open, so I cannot check available jobs on time.

The app doesn’t refresh …. The app doesn’t refresh to show active jobs unless I exit the app and sign in again. Defeats the whole purpose of looking out for jobs on an app.

DOES NOT WORK. This app will not properly connect you to your district.

Auto-accept doesn’t work. Auto-accept only sporadically works when it wants to. I’ve missed out on so many jobs because of it. Support is unhelpful. I’d get this app negative stars if I could.

Freezes. This app freezes all the time. Often won’t open. Often says ‘unexpected error’ It desperately needs fixing! People’s livelihoods depend on it.

App is very slow. The app is very slow and takes a long time to load jobs.

Lack of information. There are no grade specifications shown in the app like it’s supposed to in the pictures above. The jobs are only displayed as elementary or secondary school. Very disappointing.

Garbage. Takes a very long time to load. Having difficulty viewing jobs because of inability to load or it says unexpected error. Total garbage app. Worked better last year

All functions availability. Would be convenient and user friendly to be able to access all functions here and not have to get into ESS for some settings.

Last update broke app. Why would you mess with a good thing. Your last update said it fixed bugs but it added so many others. You have to enter your district code everyday then log in with your credentials each time. The app won’t let you stay logged in like before. It’s a grind having to do this each time I want to use the app which is everyday.

Please update the app. Oh my gosh, can you please update the app, 5:30pm rolls around and the app is incredibly slow and crashes. This makes it quite the ordeal trying to pick up teaching assignments. Don’t get me wrong, love the app, but it’s clearly not well designed to support x number of teachers logging on at the same time…

Terrible. Cannot login via Microsoft 90% of the time. Mobile site very limited. Cannot believe that we have to use this due to a limited mobile site.

This app sucks. Since Sep 23, this app has been horrible to use. It takes forever to load, and when refreshed, by the time the jobs are loaded, most are gone. Today it started crashing. Opened program, and after two minutes, I refreshed, and the app kept crashing. Poor performance. Needs a serious update.

Won’t keep school district saved. Since the last update, the app no longer saves the school districts! It’s making me request it every time! Not convenient!

Worst platform. After using the Apply to Ed platform for the last three years with a different board, SmartFind is the worst application. NOT user friendly.

Inconsistent. Job availability is sporadic and very inconsistent. One moment there are lots available, then the next moment nothing.

stuck on “fetching data”. this new update needs an update. I cant use the app at all anymore. I have to keep typing in the district code and once im in it just gets stuck on “fetching data”. Please fix!!!

Download issues. I accepted a job. I got a notification that it had been modified. When I go to the job there is a button to download instructions. When I download it, I can never find where it has been downloaded. Where do I look for that info? I have an iPhone XR.

Works well & convenient!. My district wasn’t using the app when I first started subbing, so I had to continually login to the website version to look for & accept assignments. The app makes it super easy and I can get job alerts when openings get posted.

Easy to review and book jobs. I primarily use an IPhone with a smaller screen than most but it is easy to read everything. Nice layout I wish it would maintain my location settings in my phone once I set them

Absolutely the worst app. This app is absolutely the worst, first it doesn’t show all jobs available. The phone app shows different that the website. Some jobs don’t even show. You can’t validate your phone number to get calls that could be a huge help in trying to get jobs. It was much better when we could use another app

Available jobs. Well if it’s Saturday or Sunday or actually any day of the week you can’t see jobs until after 12:00 pm. Saturday you can see any jobs at all. You can’t with the new system see jobs further in the month… so there is no flexibility in terms of mapping out a future schedule. I worked with the AESOP system and Smart can even come close to being user friendly. I wish the district would get rid of smart system.

No different than the antiquated website 😕. The number 1 thing all subs want is an immediate notification there is a job available. Your app needs to send a push notification so the job can be seen quickly. I have no interest in having to log in to look for a job. Your app should tell me; see Jobulator. This is really no different than your website and it has taken years for you to create it. Not impressed.

Convenient and easy. I really like this app so far. No more opening my laptop to check for available jobs and no more missed calls. Just one tap and I’m there. I really believe all teachers will love this.

Loading and Filters. It takes a very long time to load/ refresh. When looking for an assignment or when asked if available for a specific date… can check immediately because it takes a very long time to load. Filtering to a specific school is very complicated. Finding a specific teacher is practically impossible.

Easy to use and quick. Once they instituted this site looking for a sub job became so much easier . It’s quick and easy to navigate and make changes to your availability and see what jobs you have coming up it’s a great site

Works well except…. The most important feature of this app doesn’t work. I can’t get it to send me available jobs notifications. All other notifications work well and I made sure all notifications are turned on. The only way I can see available jobs is to open the app and check. Very frustrating!

Never works. This app worked for me for about the first 2 months. Ever since it just thinks either at sign in or trying to pull up my available jobs. I’m tired of reaching out to my tech department with no result. So I’m forced to use the website if I want to work!! Took the app off my phone. Don’t waste your time just use the website.

Sub. Although the app is useful to keep track of the days that someone is booked. I think it would more helpful to subs to plan their week, if the app showed a list of in coming jobs a day before. I would rather accept a job that way to better plan the distance of arrival.

It would be nice to be ableTo separate the days. Often times I am seeing shifts going unaccepted. So many of these, I could do the middle of the 3-day request or the first but not the last, etc. And rather than having no one help at all, it might be beneficial to allow the days to be split and have a better chance at getting coverages.

Logging in. I used to be able to select my Google account when logging in. Now the app just assumes I want to use the first Google email (personal email) that I have. The app won’t let me select my school approved email. I can’t find anything in the help feature to fix this problem. I need this fixed ASAP as school is starting next month.

The best!. I was kind of reluctant to add another app to my phone, but changed my mind after numerous calls as a sub. I love the ability to accept a job without the hassle. I also enjoy being able to review my assignments as many times as I want. Love this app.

Glitchy and frustrating. This app is glitchy and takes forever to load. The “15 second lag time” between switching days to look at available jobs is absolutely ridiculous. As well as how it doesn’t show you jobs on the day of when you’re looking at the current day, it just says “no jobs available” which is not accurate per the admins at the schools I work in. I would never use this app if it wasn’t required by my school district.

Inferior version. The app quick to get in, but it moves very slowly to see more jobs. It also clocks too soon when I look down for more jobs and then movably slowly. This did not happen in the past. This version, therefore, is worse. This is also true of Smart Find Express on the computer, not just the app.

So far behind. This app is so far behind. It’s 2023 and the app does not seem like it has had any valuable updates. It glitches and I have been trying to cancel a job because I am unable to go and can’t do so. I had to use a desktop to be able to cancel. You can’t do most things on this app. It really is far behind compared to other programs and apps. They really need to improve accessibility and modernize smart finder.

!!. Hate that u can’t cancel the job the night before. It would be easier on everyone to let us cancel it so that someone else can see it and pick it up. To give someone else time. Now I have to call early in the morning to cancel it and now they are gonna have a hard time finding someone when they could have found someone the night before!!

The worst. This new system is horrible. I’ve edited my filters to the specific school I sub at and I still get job postings and phone calls for all of the schools in our district. The first night I received 10 calls in a row and not a single one was for the school I work with, and I had already excepted a job for the day they were calling me about. Getting my profile set up took 3 weeks and there is no help from the website/ app nor my school district. 10/10 would NOT recommend!

Great, handy app!. I love the SFE app! It’s so much quicker to bring up than the online version! Even quicker than waiting for a phone call! I often just not accept the call and go right for the app! If you’re a sub and have access to the app, give it a try! 😊

Unavailable. This part does not show the date you put in until you save it. It is a little confusing.

Filters/ Select All. It’s not clear that the filters require selection and are actually saved in the profile. Where is the ‘select all’ for the filters or profile setting? Also, the date range should be open ended to preview future opportunities or the user should be able to save the filters. ( No jobs were appearing until I began applying filters.) TY for considering my comments!

Takes too long. I am not able to catch any jobs on time in a timely matter. The app is slow to load and when a notification shows and is clicked on, it automatically disappears as if it was never there and it doesn’t matter fhe amount of time it was on there.

Not user friendly. I like the old app much better. It was easier to schedule chosen schools, availability, and search for jobs. This app is convoluted and appears to allow every teacher in the system to access my email. I constantly receive emails from teachers in schools and in grades I where I have not chosen to work. And these mass mailings show every email address request was sent to. It does not protect anyone’s privacy.

Needs Better Instruction. Silly that u can’t punch in at 7:23am. Not able to be paid until 7:30 am anyway and sh be able to have a 7 minute buffer as opposed to a 1 minute buffer. Also, have to struggle to figure out how to simply punch in/out the time on another screen if u accidentally punch in late bc you are being given instruction by the coordinator. That causes the coordinator extra work. Liked the Kronos.

Frustrating. This app is very frustrating to use. I see that I’m not the only one with this problem based on other reviews. Getting logged off while you’re in the middle of scrolling through jobs, and having to wait 30 seconds for the next search every time is less than ideal. It’s unfortunate because this app could be so good!

Validate Callback Number Not Working. Since the app updated, I have been trying everyday to validate my number but will not receive a call. I even tried putting different phone numbers to see if the problem was my number. Because my phone number isn’t validated, I have not received any job offers. I also have missed requests. This app use to work so well, but now it’s just bad.

Problems with Update. i have a notification asking me to validate my call back my number. every time i hit “validate” i never receive a call to validate my number, and the notification wont go away! also it has not loaded any available jobs since i downloaded the update!! i need to work!

Takes for ever to load and crashes all the time. I just downloaded this app and it takes 2-3 minutes for the app to get passed the login screen. Then once it does, it constantly freezes up, goes back to a loading screen that takes another 2-3 minutes to load, and when I click on a job, it errors out. It’s a very frustrating app.

SmartFind express difficulties. The app is so so sooo slow. When login in to look for teaching jobs at my district the app takes almost 20 minutes just to login in. Reloading the screen for any new job postings also takes a long time which I didn’t experience any of this issues last school year. For some reason this school year the app has just been slow which is a big inconvenience.

Limited functions. This app could be so much better if the functions weren’t limited to viewing. I am able to look at assignments, but I have to use my laptop to accept assignments or to submit my time. None of the facets work when I try to filter results by date and location of assignments. In summation, I carry my laptop with me for every assignment because I cannot access all functions on this app.

Rarely works after update. I have used this app regularly in the past and it has been great. Since it was updated maybe the beginning of December it has had numerous issues. Some were fixed. But now it never works for me. All I get repeatedly is a spinning circle with the message “fetching data from the server”. I only use it on my computer now. To bad.

Great !. This app has been a life saver. I work almost every day of the week in many different schools with different start times. It would be a nightmare to try to organize my schedule without this app. Everything I need to work as a substitute teacher is at my fingertips.

New update takes the app backwards. The latest update takes you back like 2 years. If I am logging in it is to see if jobs are available and now you put me on what I have already accepted. Once I log in I can not refresh to see if it updated. Screen use to be easy to see it was refreshing. Text is completely not working. Terrible update it screwed up so much more thank you needed to.

User Friendly Idea. The app is very useful. The one thing that’s frustrating is that it requires the user to sign in with a password every time I check for jobs. It would be so much easier to use if I didn’t have to sign in, or if it sent me a notification when a job pops up. I used the jobulator app in another state, and it was much easier to use that way.

Clunky. It’s annoying that you have to wait 30 seconds after applying a filter to do a new search. When you apply a filter it should automatically repopulate the search. Also, first thing in the morning it doesn’t show any available jobs when I know there are many.

Difficulty saving information. For the most part the app is simple to find assignments and check in. I find it easy to check out as well and mark my assignment as finished. I have difficulty saving the data and I understand unless it is saved the process will be incomplete and I will not be paid .

I Love This App. It’s great but I there is always room for improvement. When the system is calling for someone to accept a job assignment and I try to accept the job at the same time… If that person called does not accept the job then automatically give it to me instead of calling the next on the list.

Viewing. Recent update makes it next to impossible to view available jobs. I have to scroll down to see just one job and dates are going vertical on side. Hard to see.

Horrible Loading problems. This is the most frustrating app I have every experienced. It’s lacks convenience because It takes so long to load every command. I’ve learned to just click an check back later because the page won’t be loaded until several minutes have passed. Accessing information immediately is impossible.

Not as Good as Frontline/AESOP. It’s alright, it’s just not as user friendly and easy to navigate as Aesop/Frontline was . I really do not like that the GRADE is not listed under the teachers name, it makes traveling teachers have to look up the individual school then the teacher. I definitely prefer the display and the format of Aesop app better.

So far, so good. I’ve only been using this app for two days. So far , it has worked well and seems pretty user friendly. I haven’t really used many features but it does what I need it to do at this time.

Needs an update. From a UX Perspective, if a person declines a sub job but later finds out that they are available, and that job has not been filled, those subs need the ability to see jobs that are STILL available. How can we know if a job is still available if it’s not there.

Not user friendly. Takes forever to input do not call times, set up for text notification- STILL do not get texted when a new job is available, can only get an alert from the app and they are delayed and often past job start time. No grade level indication on jobs. Nice concept but whoever designed it doesn’t actually use it.

Horrible. It’s nice to have an app on your phone to access smart find, but it is incredibly slow and doesn’t always load. I have to wait 5-10 mins sometimes for a page to load. Specifically my personal calendar and my specific search details. I’ve been using it for a month now and on WiFi and no WiFi has not made any difference. The convenience of the app is no longer relevant because it is not longer convenient, it is a hassle and I loathe using it.

SFE App. It is terrible. It is sow to load jobs and often freezes where a job won’t open for details and properly able to log off. And most importantly, it won’t open and list my finished jobs so I can put in my hours to get paid. This has happened several times in the month that I have used this app. I have called and said something about it but no one said to know how to fix it. Every wee there’s another problem. Please get someone to fix this app

Functional but filter needs improve my. I would like to be able to filter more. Filter by search radius, single days, and school type would be helpful. As it stands now, I have to do a lot of scrolling to find jobs I am interested in.

NO DISTRICT CODES. I currently have 5 separate school districts SFE Safari Downloaded sites on my IPhone Desktop. None of them have a SFE Mobile App access enabled option. My guess is the don’t know about it. Can you put an option in where you can load in the school district(s) by name. My thought is to have only 1 SFE to look at rather than 5 separate ones to seek jobs. Robert B

Totally broken. When the app works, it’s pretty convenient. Unfortunately, it almost never works. When I first downloaded it, it took several tries to login using my district credentials as it was giving me an error message. After several tries, I was finally able to login. Now I’m trying to open the app and login again, and it simply crashes every time I try.
