Best commentary out there. You will be glad you downloaded this app! It was recommended to me, and I’m so happy it was. This commentary is by far the best out there. I can feel the Holy Spirit while studying God's word. I read Bible scriptures, then come to the app to dig into scriptures deeper. It's excellent, providing insightful and revelatory content that enhances my spiritual journey.

Love this- audio would make it even better!. I found the app from the Enduring Word website. I’m so thankful to have this commentary available on my phone, and I think the audio versions (which are available on the website and I believe BLB as well) would be a great addition. Am I the only one?. I absolutely love the Enduring Word website and use it almost every day, so I was really excited to discover that there was an app. However the app crashes every single time I try to open it - I never get past the logo screen. And I’ve been trying to open it for months. I even deleted and re-downloaded the app. Am I the only one having this problem? Is there a solution? I would really love to use the app. I’m not even sure what kind of star rating to give... 😬

Love Enduring Word!. Soooo pleased God gave Pastor Guzik the resources to create an app for this commentary! Enduring Word has been such a blessing over my life and has really helped me learn to read the Bible correctly. Downloaded it the other day and I love having access to it all the time now. I do recommend to fix the sensitive that comes with swiping when you’re on a chapter; it jumps from chapter to chapter when I just want to swipe down to another verse. Other than that, I love the app so far. I have always recommended Enduring Word to so many people, and will more now that there is an awesome app for it!

Highly recommend this!. Absolutely amazing Bible Commentary with thorough notes on the whole Bible! The updated app is amazing! Love everything about it! Probably the only suggestion is to make this highly effective tool downloadable so I can use it even in areas where service may not be available. Even if it’s downloadable for a one time price. I realize it would be a large file, but if we have the room, it would be a great option! The best Bible commentary. I’m so thankful the Pastor David Guzik’s Bible commentary is now available as an app. Throughout years of preaching, David kept meticulous notes on the Scriptures he discussed. In recent years he completed the entire Bible and offered them free on line. A pastor at our church introduced me to his commentary and it’s been an essential part of my Bible reading for nearly a decade. Thorough, cross-referenced, understandable and uncompromising yet loving, Enduring Word is the best commentary I have found. Yes, the app has some technical areas for improvement which I’m sure he’ll fix (keep in mind it’s essentially a one-person operation). But it’s much more important for the content to be out there for mobile devices.

Amazing Resource!! Wonderful Commentary!. I love, love, love this app. I am a recent convert to Christianity, so when I started reading the Bible it was with a completely blank slate of knowledges and this app has just been a wonderful resource. The Bible can be a bit daunting because of the length and the language but this app has helped break down verses in a way that makes it more easily understood. It has helped me so much with putting things into context both historically and even in terms of the context of the Bible itself. The app will show the connections between the Old and New Testament and how different verses allude to one another. Overall, I cannot give this app a more positive review. It has certainly helped me in seeking God and has pushed me to look even deeper into His word by reading apologetics and sermons given by some of the authors that this app quotes from. I want to thank the creators of this app because y’all have done a wonderful job!

Good commentary but annoying bug in app. The content is great. But the feature of clicking the left and right arrows to go back/forward a chapter are broken, which is quite inconvenient since I had to go the main menu (select book, chapter, etc) every time I switch chapters 😢

So so happy for this app. David Guzik’s commentary is awesome. I’m so glad they finally have an app so I don’t have to use my browser to look up passages anymore. This is a wonderful and complete commentary that offers life application and great insight on the history behind the passages. Been using his commentary for ten years and it’s the best.

My Go-To Bible Commentary. Enduring Word is a fascinating commentary with precise and accurate Biblical exegesis. It has grown me rapidly in my understanding of the Bible and even in my willingness to live for Christ. This app has also helped me tremendously in teaching and preparing Bible studies as I grow in my knowledge of Scripture. I would highly recommend Enduring Word if you want a commentary that holds true to the testimony of Scripture, despite the world’s opposition to the Word of God. In a world that opposes and does not know who the true God is, it is absolutely necessary that we understand what the Bible says about God, and what it says about man. This app will help you with just that. Enduring Word will be a blessing to your walk with Jesus Christ, as it has been mine.

Excellent Commentary. I have read this commentary online for well over a year and was so excited that it is available in app form. I cannot stress how great a help is has been to me. When I look at hard copies of commentaries, I wish for this format and style. Thank you so much.

Blessing and Phenomenal. This app is extremely convenient. I have used This commentary for many years, perhaps almost the entire time it has been offered online so an app is just an added convenience. There are basically 2 go to commentaries for me, this is one of them, though I do refer to others. Both are thorough and in language easy to understand. Additionally, Guzik refers to other scholars and early church practice and leaders, “fathers.” Thank you for this app, as it enriches my study and ministry.

Thorough and easy to use. I started using this to assist in my Bible studies. I wanted to go more in depth and have some extra info to note take with. I found this app has such an easy interface and the layout is very streamlined. The amount of info and info itself is fantastic. I highly suggest you use this app.

My favorite commentary now in app form!!!. I’ve been referring to Pastor Guzik’s commentary for a little over a year now. The Lord has used him to deepen our relationship and my spiritual insight of the Word. I’m so excited that he has made an app for us, and free! Wow! The bookmark tool is great for quick reference. The only suggestion I’d make is to add a highlighting and underlining feature, as well as a note feature on what is highlighted, in order that we may be able to note our thoughts and further commentary within the app. Thank you so much Pastor Guzik! Really good but one thing. I really like this commentary and a lot of other people I know also enjoy it. I’ve started using it to help understand the text more but one thing I wish was that there was a highlight feature so I can pull out things that stand out to me! Other than that it’s been 10/10 so far!

Great Bible Commentary App. Been using this commentary for about a year+. Find it extremely helpful in understanding context and application. Had been using the website and wondered if there was an app. Glad I checked! Awesome interface - very easy to use and really like the bookmark feature.

Must have Bible Study App. If you are wanting to study the Bible then this is an amazing app!! Each verse and chapter goes into so much detail. The only thing I would recommend is having some kind of Highlighting tool! There are so many comments that are made that I would love to highlight but there is no option to. Other than that, a perfect app!

Great commentary... no more swiping, please.. This is a great commentary, and I recently discovered the app. Swiping between chapters should be removed. I’ve been sent to a different chapter when scrolling through a passage. I think that feature is unnecessary. You could always add arrows at the bottom or top of the page to navigate the chapters.

Favorite Commentary!. This commentary is so full of wisdom and has been extremely applicable! Reading through this commentary has been my favorite way to study the Bible, and it has taught me so much and given new perspective for the scripture I am reading.

Great resource.... app needs a few improvements. I enjoy this resource and find it helpful. I use it regularly. As mentioned the apps could use some improvements. Along with some of the other improvements mentioned in other reviews the ability to highlight and make notes would be great. At least highlight with hold and swipe. Thanks for the app

Font Size. I don’t know if this is just me, but the font size seemed to be changed in the last update. Now, the font size is way too big even when reducing it to the lowest percentage. Also, the scrolling could be a little less resistant.

YES. I have been following this teaching for some time now, I’m talking years. I’m not taking credit for this app, but suggested it because I enjoyed the website so much and today I find that it has happened, the only drawback is you can’t touch a scripture and a window open referencing that scripture. So to all of my brothers and sisters in CHRIST that follow this teaching and prayed for this, aren’t you glad that GOD LISTEN ANSWERS PRAYERS. This is my go to for teaching Sunday school and studying of GODS WORD.

Love but.... Love the website but not the app as much. These are minor complaints. It’s only viewed in Landscape mode, the writing is smaller than online and you have to get out of each book go to the apps home page scroll for the book then scroll to the chapter. Would be nice to just have a next button. Also this app would be amazing if it could be viewed without cellular data or WiFi. Anyways these are minor complaints. I love enduring word and it’s helped me to understand the OT more than ever before!

Doesn’t seem like the write believes in the Bible as Truth but rather a “possibility”. So I was originally excited to start using this app to study the word even deeper, but after reading John 14 and then using this to dive deeper into the word and see what this had to say I was instantly taking back on what was written. For example for commentary on the verse when Jesus says “No one comes to the Father except through Me.” The app has a comment under that saying “ Jesus made this remarkable statement, claiming that He was the only way to God.” Claiming?!?! Why if you are a believer writing this, why would you say Jesus “claimed,” something as if there is a possibility that Jesus isn’t actually telling or speaking the very truth?!? This was just one example that the many times through the whole chapter the commentary said Jesus “claims” something rather then saying Jesus “said” or “told” us something. A lot of the commentary almost seems as if the writer and creator isn’t even sure if what Jesus said is truly the word of God. I have never giving a written review for any app but I am so sorry I just feel like I can’t even trust using this as a reference for when studying something in the Bible that I’m unfamiliar with or anything in general because the writer honestly doesn’t seem to have written things out in a way that would come off as a true believer in the words of Jesus.

Highly Recommend the download. Absolutely love this commentary! I have been using it for years and believe the writers are spot on. Highly recommend using this when reading Gods word to get a deeper understanding of His word and the history of what is going on in some books.

Would love a dark mode!. Hi, I love this commentary a lot. I like to read scripture at night before sleep, and so I would love and appreciate a dark mode so the white screen is not so harsh on my eyes later at night. Thank you!

Thank you so much!. This is amazing for a Christian college student that does not have money to blow on commentaries. I am eternally grateful to Pastor David and his team. I am learning so much, and the app is not glitchy or buggy! As a suggestion, I think the ability to highlight and annotate would be absolutely fantastic. But seeing as to how the app is free, that’s asking for s lot. Thank you!

Great commentary, terrible sensitivity. Moving from one chapter to next happens too quickly. It’s so sensitive that I have to carefully scroll down as to not go to next or previous chapter. Please fix this. Other than that it is a great commentary. Edit: they seemed to have fixed it by adding arrows, but took me a while to figure that they changed how the New Testament and Old Testament were split.

Such a great tool. I have loved using this app, it has impacted my walk so greatly. It explains things so clearly and in-depth. I also love how David weaves in the commentary of other pastors through history to give a wider perspective. This is a must have for anyone studying the Bible.

This app changes the game. I use this app daily and it never has issues. I’m able to bookmark a chapter and go back to it. On top of that there are also many references within the app to supplementary content like sermons, videos and podcasts. I hope this app stays around for good because it really improves my bible study and relationship with Jesus. God bless

Review on app. As far as David Guzik commentary is concerned i really like him, but very disappointed in the app itself. You have to start all over every time, so you have to either remember where you are at or write it down! Not enjoy this app at all!!! Also, it’s way too touchy, when I scroll down, if you don’t have your hand on the page guiding it it flips to the next chapter then have to start all over again. Very frustrating!!!

Great app, but very screen sensitive at times. This app has been a great blessing for studying the Bible. It is however very glitchy and sensitive to the slightest touch. For instance when you are reading a chapter it will often suddenly go back to the previous chapter, even if you are just scrolling down to read. Really enjoying it nonetheless

One of the biggest tools for me!. This app has been on the of biggest tools for me in understanding scripture better. It’s super easy to use and whenever I’m confused about a verse or I feel like something is contradicting another thing in the Bible, I’ve found clarity in this commentary!

The Best...When it Works. I’ve used this commentary for over a year now and have loved it. Recently it just stopped working. I’ve tried over and over to download the app with no luck. Hope it gets fixed soon because it was so helpful!

This app just got so good. I had downloaded this app about 6 months ago and enjoyed it, but the swiping feature to go from chapter to chapter was so annoying. Now they changed that and it is much more clean look! The commentary is very well done!

Thank God for this app!. I’m so thankful that the app came out. I LOVE this commentary app!! But it is a little frustrating because when I scroll, I have to be very mindful or I change the chapter. It’s very sensitive. I will be scrolling down and all of a sudden I’m in the next chapter or the one before and I lose my place. Maybe some arrows would be better? I truly am so grateful for enduring word though. I love it so much I use it any way but it would be great not to have to focus on the chapter changing so easily

Great Commentary App. Great commentary app overall! I have been looking for one to use instead of using mobile web. I am thankful it is David Guzik as well since I always use his commentary. Just two things I would like to see changed: - I would like if verses and descriptions of verses were in red to make them stand out a little more. - And the scrolling left and right to next chapters is very sensitive, so I constantly go to the next chapter and lose my spot. Hopefully that can be turned down or off. Again, great app. Just a couple small things I hope to see change!

Great App. Love this app and how it breaks down each verse. My only wish was that when you book Mark a certain book and chapter, if you were also able to 1. Label each bookmark ie.. Rapture, or Parable of the Sower etc so you know looking at the bookmark what it’s for. 2. If you were able to highlight so that when you do bookmark you can see the exact verse you’re interested in. That would be AMAZING! I have bookmarks and I honestly don’t know why I have them. I have to go into each one and scroll up and down the whole page to refresh my memory as to why I initially was interested in that chapter.

Love but pls fix navigation. This is so great! I love his contextual insights & quotes from other Christian leaders. It would be so cool if there was a separate version of this app with commentary on the Book of Mormon & rest of the standard works! 😉The one problem for me is the navigation doesn’t quite work. When I’m on a chapter commentary, and I click ➡️or⬅️the screen goes blank and I can’t see anything. I’m in the dark mode of the app so maybe it has smth to do with that? 🤷🏻‍♀️If y’all could fix that it would be super great! Thanks so much for making this as a great app and free. Love it. Would love to have it in Russian too.. Great commentary. It has been my go to commentary for years. Two questions/ feature requests: 1. It would be great to add the function where the app would open to the same page of commentary that was last read. Is this possible? 2. I’m a missionary/pastor serving and training leaders in Ukraine. I’d love it if this was available in the Russian or Ukrainian language. It is difficult to find good commentary resources for Russian speaking Expositors of the Word.

Best commentaries. I’ve studied many different commentaries and David Guzik’s are by far my favorite. Hope the app eventually gets his audio and video commentaries with the ability to download them to listen without WiFi.

Best commentary I’ve found.. This commentary is amazing. David uses many different theologians and scholars’ thoughts on passages, not just his own. This app has brought the Bible to life for me. I use it daily.

Great app but Broken On iOS13. Great bible commentary as supplementary content for one’s bible study. My only complaint is that it doesn’t open on ios13. I am sure a patch will come soon but not able to use it until then.

Keeps on restarting. App keeps saying “unexpected error occurred “ when trying to scroll down. And having to restart, and keeps doing the same thing over and over, has been like this over a week.

Dark mode ?. What happened? Have used the app for years and love it, but the update changed the format

Finally!. As a minister I always use Pastor Guzik’s commentary. It’s the greatest source that I go to when I have a question about a verse and to study the Word.

App age rating. Love the app. Would like it for my younger children but the age rating is set at 17+. Not sure if this set by Apple. Many other bible apps are rated at 4+ for age.

Life changing. Enduring Word is THE BEST! It will change your life! Every passage and chapter is explained by several Bible scholars so you will understand Biblical history, proper context, what’s going on at the time, how it pertains etc. I use this daily and I excitedly look forward to reading the Word daily. Life can be chaotic. My goal was to understand who He is better! This has helped me endure what life has tossed at me by looking to Him through it all.

Audio?. I was so excited to finally see an app for this commentary but very disappointed I don’t see the audio files that are available online. I usually prefer listening so probably won’t use this app much. It’s a great resource and I hope the audio will be included in the future!

Finally. Finally David Guzik’s commentaries are on its own app. Easy to use, very clean, & fast.

Keeps crashing.. I LOVE the website I haven’t had a chance to use the app because every time I open it the app crashes. I have re-downloaded multiple time but have the same issue.

TERRIBLE!!!. I used this for several years while studying the Word. Accumulated dozens of bookmarks. ALL GONE!! Their need to change and “ upgrade” is the worst ever. 18 months and hours of work was lost. All the said was “ sorry”. Ugh. Adios EW.

Insight I had missed. I appreciate Enduring Word commentary for its ease of use, simplicity and depth. It cites excellent teachers and clarifies passages that I otherwise can misinterpret. Brevity and thoroughness are seldom found and Pastor Guzik excels at both.

Under rated. This app perfectly breaks down the confusing verses of the Bible and give great commentary. Makes meditation and understanding as well as note taking so much easier and beneficial.

Font to large. The app is excellent; however, I find myself resorting to the website for reading as the app's font size is excessively large.

Great Upgrad. Just downloaded it and WOW! I Love the commentary and this new version makes moving around much easier. Can’t wait to see what else they have planned.

Search and Bookmark Verses. It’s hard to complain about a great commentary that is provided for free, but the ability to search verses and bookmark verses would be great.

Portrait mode only.. Love this commentary. Wish it would adjust from showing only in portrait mode to landscape mode.

New Version won’t load on iPhone.. Tried numerous times to update the app on my iPhone but it starts, stops, then goes back to update. There latest version will not upgrade on iPhone.

No Spanish?. Y see both English and Spanish on the site but on the app I don’t see Spanish, would be glad to have it in the app too, so far great app

Not all written seem reliable. I would not make this the basis for learning about the Bible. There have been many instances that much that is commented does not make sense. I would go to the Bible project for more information. I would not recommend this app.

Awesome!. So thankful that Enduring Word now has an app. It’s so clean and easy to use, with nothing getting in the way of diving into the content. Great job!
