Works great after reinstall. Reinstall fixed all my problems. No more crashes. —- Precious 3-star review: I moved to Google podcasts from Apple podcasts because playlist was not working. Google requires me to add each episode to playlist manually, which isn’t ideal but still better than Apple. But my app keeps crashing. I start a podcast, put phone in pocket, and 30 seconds later playback stops. I’m not accidentally hitting stop, because I cannot press play from control center. The podcast app has closed and I need to re-open and press play again. I’ll uninstall and reinstall this app before finding a new podcast player.

Unreliable. This has been my go-to app for podcasts since it debuted… I recently made the switch to iPhone after a lifetime of androids and this app has been the only consistently negative aspect of the transition. Some days I will get about an hour into a podcast with no problem, lately I have lost count of how many times PER HOUR I am having to pick up my phone to restart the app to continue listening to a podcast. I have uninstalled several times and tried a few tweaks to my phone but it is such a disappointing experience that really ruins my ability to give my Apple iPhone experience an exceptional review.

Fantastic!. I have so enjoyed listening to these podcasts. They are labeled perfectly, so you can pick what you need to hear for a specific interest or to target what you’re going through at the moment. She has an aura quiz, so you can self diagnose your aura color(s). The podcast updates frequently and is always entertaining. It has really helped me get in touch with my inner self. I’m addicted!

Better for listening. While I can’t have it as a widget on my iPhone when it comes to critical role I get an actual good version of the first campaign. Apple podcasts had one version but it repeated skipped of cut out. Didn’t have issues with my other podcasts but overall google after just a few days is a better listening experience.

Barely Even Functional. It’s as if google is trying to make this app worse and worse so we will all thank them when they eventually discontinue this app and put us out of our misery of having to use it. The app crashes multiple times per podcast, many times it doesn’t keep track of where you left off, and there are many times an episode of a podcast just fails to load. I end up going to Apple Podcasts multiple times a week just to finish an episode. The only logical conclusion is that google is trying to discontinue this app and get out of podcasts. I would already leave this app behind if it wasn’t for the layout or more customizable playback speeds than other apps.

Skips backwards when pausing/skipping/restarting. Switched from Apple Podcasts because their latest update was garbage. I pause in the middle of podcasts a lot, or want to skip back/forth to hear or skip something. Most of the time when I do this, the podcast jumps backwards several minutes, or to somewhere close to the beginning (but not the beginning). It’s super annoying because then I have to try to find my place again. Now I try to pay attention to where I was up to in case it happens again but when you’re out running, that’s a royal pain.

Solid Podcast App! Could use some minor improvements.. Overall the Google Podcast app is a solid app. Subscribing to podcasts you can listen to podcasts through streaming or (more importantly) by downloading the podcast. It seems to sync your position across devices which is helpful when switching devices. The app downloads quite a few episodes. My main complaints are: -I don’t see a way to manually mass mark podcasts as “played” (multi select and mark) -The one feature I would love to have would be integration with Sonos. -There is no option to sync settings. So for example if I set Podcast A to listen “oldest to newest” then that setting should sync back to the cloud. I shouldn’t then have to also set that on Device B (because when you have 3 devices and around 15 podcasts that becomes a bit of a chore to get them all set the same). -At the same time there should be an option to chose whether or not to sync settings for a particular podcast (maybe device A has 256GB of storage while Device B has 64GB)

Very buggy. The user interface is the best of all the podcast apps I’ve tried. Its easy to build and rearrange playlists and very difficult to accidentally clear the whole playlist (like on apple podcasts). BUT! Is it just me, or is this app super buggy? First use of the day, it crashes while loading 5-10 times before it loads all the way. Lately, its had trouble loading episode lists from a show’s page, and some things I’d downloaded suddenly have a download error. Sometimes the app will crash after playing for 5 minutes. Is it too much to ask for the app to just work?

Playback error (almost) every time. I switched to google podcasts about five years ago for the ability to easily queue up podcasts. However, recently I have been getting a playback error within the first 30 sec of playing a podcast and this makes the title unlistenable for some time, even after a restart. My fix has been to add it to a queue and often it will reset when it autoplays. Would love info on how to fix this.

Solid basic player, lacking a few key options. This is a no frills basic podcast player that works well. It is missing some key functionality that would greatly increase usability: there is no option to “Mark all as Played”, which makes it almost impossible to clear the home view of old episodes of subscribed shows. Also, shows from RSS feeds (you know, the ones I pay for and care about the most) do not pull into the home view as new episodes become available. It’s still better than the bloated monstrosity that Apple podcasts has become, but just a couple of little additions would go a long way.

Great app design and function but frequent crashes. Everything about the search and find functionality of the app is great. It's very easy to find and create a queue of podcasts, as well as downloaded them. Unfortunately, at least on iPhones, the app frequently crashes in the background. I haven't been able to figure out when or if there's a pattern to it. Generally I just have to keep reopening the app and trying again until it stably remains open.

Download Management Needs Work. The Auto Download feature does not work, no matter what settings I use. Also, episode organization is really frustrating because it doesn’t tell me how many episodes of the same show I have downloaded. Every episode is a single item on the list. What if I have two episodes of the same show in one week? They should be together, not spread apart between five other shows I have coming in in between those two. App is functional otherwise, just frustrating when you keep up with a lot of shows like I do to have to manually download each episode, AND have to scroll down through singular episodes of the same show from my Downloads list.

👍🏼. Came back to google pods from Apple because Apple just took up entirely too much internal space for no apparent reason, while google uses nearly no space in comparison. I do wish the list of downloads had an option to view by show and have the Episodes organized by show, instead of just in your download list in order that you downloaded them. Not really a complaint, just an idea to improve experience.

It's a great app.. if it will work 🙄. I never leave reviews on apps, and this is a first because this app is so disappointing. The app itself would have been great, if only it will work consistently. The app crashes within seconds of opening it most of the time. I have deleted the app and reinstalled it so many times but that didn't fix the issue, I've tried just leaving one downloaded episode at a time, but that didn't work either. None of the other apps crash like this one. I love listening to podcasts on my way to and from work and this app used to work well, but it hasn't worked for weeks now. Hope Google fixes the issues because it could've been a good app.

The best free podcast app!. It’s easily the best free podcast app. Great for multiple devices and ease of use. It’s only downside is not being able to mark all episodes as played. This sounds small and it kinda is but it makes the app home screen crowded with previous episodes you may have already listened to with no easy way to mark them as played. Amazing job Google team! If you add in a mark all as played option I will easily give 5 stars!

Great App, but Playback Error is getting extremely annoying. I like listening to Podcasts when I’m driving around. The biggest feature that I love about Google Podcasts is that if I am listening to an episode and start another one, the episode I was listening does not get taken off my queue. With that being saying, my BIGGEST ISSUE is the playback error message that I keep getting at the most random times when I am trying to start an episode, when I skip to another episode, or when I skip minutes of an episode. I like listening to Podcasts when I’m driving around.

What happened here? App is now not functional.. This has been the only app I have been using for podcasts. So, recently, it has begun to take longer and longer to launch and would crash within 30 seconds of playing any podcast. This was not a problem as if you just reloaded the app and restarted the podcast, everything was as normal. Today, an update was pushed out, and I was hoping this would be addressed. Nope. App crashes in under 10 seconds and will only play if you stay in the app and not let the phone do any other operations. Very disappointed here.

Persistent Bugs. I don't remember the app always being so buggy but in 2022 I've been having bad luck with it. The app crashes after a few seconds every other time I launch it and start to play something, having to then relaunch the app. Many relaunches for specific shows lose the last played position, so I'm constantly fumbling with the audio scrubber, or eventually realizing the app has gone too far back in a track that I'm hearing parts of an episode over and over again, or I lose the last played position altogether, forced to restart episodes from the very beginning. Also seeing with specific shows that if I download an episode and add it to my queue, it fails to load the download when it comes time to play. So I have nothing playing for whatever’s next in my queue if I’m in an area with poor reception. I have to undo the download for the episode in order for the on demand audio to then actually play. Please, dev team, help iOS users out.

Buggy and Basic. I've used this app for about 10 months since Apple's made their iphone 12s burn up when in use. It was fine at first - very basic and I don't think the organization of the podcasts is stellar, but it's free so whatever. Now for the past many weeks it shuts down the first play of the day when the screen sleeps. That, coupled with an awkward organization, means I'll try Apple again. Meh. I read here in reviews that I can delete and reinstall but won't that delete my downloads? Eh, it's time to walk away anyway.

Keeps losing my played list!. I downloaded this app when I switched from my Google phone for the sole purpose of keeping track of the podcasts I have already listened to in my playlists. Well they all reset recently and were marked not played. So I spent part of a long car ride meticulously remarking them and now they’ve all reset again! I’m extremely annoyed!

Google Podcasts. Google Podcasts is a simple podcast application that will allow users to search for and manage their podcast library. It is easy to navigate whether by category headers or the search box. The app differs a little bit from some of the competition in offering more initial listed categories to browse for podcast shows. The UI design as stated before while easy to use is somewhat bland and ordinary. I would recommend this application as a supplementary to a regular podcast listener’s main source of content.

Nice but fails. In the user interface this app very well designed. I find that it is easier and more intuitive than Apple Podcasts which used to be the easiest to use, but after several bad choices in interface change, Apple Podcasts is just a confusing mess that I never got used to. The reason I am giving Google Podcast a one star is because Google decided to remove the ability to add your custom RSS feed. I subscribe to some paid shows that are not available for free and require a personalized RSS feed URL, and Google decided to remove this essential feature that effectively renders this app completely useless for me. If Google brings back the ability to add custom RSS URLs, I would be happy to revise my rating.

Sometimes doesn't play minimized or with screen off. When my screen turns off or I minimize and open another app...playback stops basically rendering the app useless to all listeners except those dedicated to staying transfixed to their podcast's episode description...and ensuring their phone's screen never turns off. With billions in profit every quarter, you'd imagine they could afford afford QA testing... Come on Google, I use Google Podcasts so my listening is seemless across my phone and my Google home speakers...but this is NOT seemless. Also, when we have a playlist built up, when we double tap on a playlist item...it should start playing the item...not take us to the podcast show page. How is that not obvious? You guys need proper UI experts on your dev team! Not everyone has to be a dev.

Google Podcasts. Although still lacking in swipe features (mark as played/add to queue) and it is still a 3 step process to mark episodes as played, instead of being able to select all as played or at least be able to select multiple episodes at a time. It is still the only app that truly downloads episodes without needing internet to start playing. With some over hauling this app could and should be the best out there.

So much crashing. I actually love, love, love how this app’s interface and functionality. After Apple aggressively trashed its podcast app, I needed something that would let me subscribe to podcast without downloading every single episode. Google was my knight in shining armor. But then… the app started crashing. Initially, just once or twice in the morning, but now it can be six times or more just to start the day! It’s so very frustrating. And don’t even think about listening to a podcast while using another app! Even the weather app is too much. I don’t know why Google doesn’t just fix it. Surely they have the resources!

Pretty good alternative to Apple podcast app. I’ve been using this app for a couple months now, and I do like it better than the Apple podcast app. However, I experience a handful of issues / annoyances. First off, it seems like the skip forward 30sec button doesn’t always function properly —— often times it rewinds my position in the episode by many minutes, and then I have to go manually forward to find my previous position in the podcast. This is an issue via my iPhone 12 Pro and Apple Watch. An annoyance I’d love to be eliminated is that there’s no way to dismiss / delete / clear out podcast episodes in my main feed. Some topics I don’t care to listen to from an otherwise good podcast, and would prefer thru just get wiped from that feed.

5 ⭐️ until last week…. Repeatedly crashing. I have used and preferred Google Podcasts over all other outlets available going on 3 years now. However in the last week or so the app has been having playback errors constantly and crashing several times a day… sometimes within just an hours time. I hope this issue is being looked at and that a resolution is found soon because I really dislike other podcast apps and strongly prefer not to use them.

Adds random podcasts to your feed without permission. This was my go-to podcasting app until about a week ago, when my feed was suddenly filled with two daily podcasts to which I’d never subscribed. Every attempt to unsubscribe, both here and on the web, is unsuccessful. I can unsubscribe from every other podcast without any problems. I’ve tried everything, and there’s nothing in the help documentation or forums except hundreds of other people complaining about the same problem. I’d be able to ignore this, except none of my other podcasts are daily, which means that to find the ones to which I’ve actually subscribed, I have to look through a feed that is literally 80% spam. The unavoidable podcasts are both news podcasts (Slate and CNN), so I doubt it’s some kind of secret sponsorship thing. It seems like some major bug in Google Podcast’s handling of feeds. Either way, it makes this app suddenly unusable, which is unfortunate.

Google Podcasts. Google Podcasts provide app users with everything they seek and more, all access, you can listen to Ted Talks on your device via phone or computer or tablet speaker mode, wired headphones, bluetooth car audio, sluryooth external device speaker mode, Google apps are very connected, very secure for login, and reliable, they offer free support and take feedback very seriously, Google Podcasts coming in hot🔥Impaulsive, Call Her Daddy, etc Podcast access via Google coming 🔜 (mailchimp, proton etc take a seat in the back). As for Microsoft might want to stick to tech podcasts for now (MS Azure, MS Defender, Cloud storage, and all the ROI Corporate career learning that tech folks need to hear).

iOS version has been very unreliable. I used Google podcasts on my s21 for years without any issues before switching to an iPhone. I've been using this app for a month now and it's very frustrating- randomly shuts off, buggy when pairing with Google home (stops tracking playtime intermittently, so if I try to disconnect from speakers to play on my phone it will not resume playing at the same point of the podcast), inconsistently displays on the home screen, and does not linger in the "dynamic island." Hope they address these issues in the next update.

Better than apple podcast. It’s much better than shifty apple podcasts. You can listen from each episode easily. When you switch on other podcast in apple it is impossible to return to previous certain point because that piece of sheet doesn’t store the history (you can only find there some random episodes you listened to but not the last ones). This app is way better

CHRONIC CRASHES. I originally switched to GOOGLE PODCASTS after a series of buggy iOS updates rendered APPLE PODCAST unusable. But GOOGLE PODCASTS crashes at least three times each time I start listening to a downloaded show. I’ve grown so tired of having to constantly re-start (often while driving) that I’ve finally switched back to APPLE PODCASTS, which seems to be working better now. Apart from the crashes, another area for improvement with GOOGLE PODCASTS is the QUEUE. I don’t understand why it’s not possible to manually rearrange the order in which you’d like the downloads in your queue to play. Instead, you’re simply stuck with the order in which they were added to the queue.

Buggy and missed opportunity. Almost every time I try going back 10 seconds it will go back 5 minutes or more. The bar is constantly jumping around. This is a promising app with a better interface than Apple Podcasts but it needs to do its basic function well to be useful. Also, one of the main reasons I downloaded this was so it would integrate with Google Home, but the integration is completely useless. I can’t ask Google to play a podcast from my queue, in fact even though I have Google Podcasts selected as my podcast provider it just ends up playing a random podcast I don’t subscribe to. What’s the point??

Best Podcast UI Design. Hi fellas, I produce my own podcast, as a producer my listeners are always asking how to listen. After recommending several other podcast platforms listeners found it difficult to use and find my podcast. After I recommended Google Podcast, my listeners found the user interface easy and understandable to navigate organically through my content and others!

Gets worse with each update. In terms of how it’s set up, I really enjoy the idea of the queue, especially if you subscribe to a lot of podcasts. Browsing for new podcasts is somewhat difficult, I think Apple has a better setup there. The app tends to crash when launching at times, and goes through periods where most the podcasts have playback errors. I think overall, it remains the best podcast service I’ve used. However, it is very surprising that’s it’s not compatible with google nest hub and will instead display a blank black screen. Edit: now podcast won’t download, and the app crashes when you try to a show page for a podcast

No way to easily unmark “listened to” podcasts. When scrolling through past episodes of an enjoyed podcast, the “listened to” flag is very helpful. Seems by now, though, that Google would have figured out that a “reset listened to flag” would be really useful, akin to the “mark as unread” feature that in we see Gmail. I find myself wanting this feature daily. Otherwise,I really enjoy the ap.

Better late than never. Over all a clean & solid app. Will be hard to dethrone the native Apple podcast app as well as Overcast as these have been refined really well. A lot of room for growth. Initialization of a podcast episode can be slow. Also a lack of a website, car play app, and Apple Watch version are opportunities for improvement. Otherwise solid app. Also may want to add in the future similar features like Overcasts that allow for skipping of the initial commercials at the beginning of the podcast would be great.

Not overly complicated, pretty easy to navigate, good for history and playback controls. Good for history, downloads control, playback is usually perfect, speed controls have a lot of freedom, subscribing/unsubscribing doesn’t do anything weird (like automatically download new episodes or the entire catalogue without asking or resetting your listen history), sleep timer control is perfect, and jump back and forward buttons are extremely useful. There are no audio effects like volume leveling or skip silence, which I don’t miss. It could be nice if there was an effect that prevented music from sounding crunchy/glitchy/crackly during >1.0x speed playback. It needs time stamp bookmarks and chapter information/jumps. The Explore recommendations aren’t personalized (well) so it’s terrible for discovery.

Worst app. One of the worst apps I’ve used in general, not just for podcasts. Clearly the developers don’t even use this app to listen to podcasts, otherwise the outstanding issues would have been addressed. It crashes constantly. I will be able to listen to about 10 seconds of a podcast and then it crashes. Sometimes I reboot a podcast upwards of 10 times before giving up. There doesn’t seem to be any kind of trigger for this; just sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. It also has a terrible time remembering where you’re at. If you are someone like me who fast forwards through ads, good luck using this. Often it will fast forward at one point just fine, but if later on you press any command (rewind, pause, fast forward), it will jump backwards to the last place you hit a command. Very strange, and happens every time I listen.

Shocked how bad this is. We got a bunch of google nest mini’s for the holidays so I started looking for apps that I could cast my podcasts through. Naturally I figured google would have the best app for this. While it’s the best app for casting podcasts to their speakers, the actual interface is infuriating. Organizing new pods is so confusing, things don’t download, and the worst feature of all: when pressing fast-forward on a Bluetooth speaker instead of advancing the podcast 30 seconds like literally every other app, it’s skips to the next podcast and marks the podcast as finished. Add in that it just randomly starts playing and when casting it forgets your progress. With podcasts as huge as they are right now I’m dumbfounded that google’s official app for them could be THIS bad. Scrap it and start from scratch.

Keeps getting cleared from RAM. This is my favorite podcast app, but it doesn’t seem to keep itself in RAM very well. If you don’t keep the app open for several minutes after starting a podcast, iOS will clear it from memory and stop playback. If you lock your phone or switch to another app too soon, your podcast will suddenly stop in less than 30 seconds. The solution is to leave your screen on with the app open for a minute or two after pressing play. Please patch this bug!

Better than Apple. This app is better than the Apple app. There’s just one thing that’s really frustrating. The whole app will just shut down at random times and pretty frequently. In the middle of an episode, it’ll go off, so I’ll have to stop what I’m doing, unlock my phone, open the app and hope I didn’t lose my spot in the episode. If it’s been playing without trouble for a while, I’m hesitant to open the app to browse for a different episode, bc I don’t want to give it a chance to start messing up. It might just be me, but if so, I’d like to know how to fix it.

New Update Causes the App to Crash. I have been using Google Podcasts for a long time. I love the features and it has all the Podcast I want to hear, but I have noticed for the past week or two that when I open the app for the first time each day, the app crashes a few times before it fixes itself and decides to work. It is very annoying and I hope to get the issue fixed quickly.

Needs organization options. Great app overall, I just wish it had an option to organize my subscribed podcasts into categories or folders. That was the main reason I have been using Stitcher, because I could create and title my own “folders” to keep organized. Now that Stitcher is closing I have to switch back to Google and I will miss that feature as I’m scrolling through my endless and random assortment of podcasts.

Out & about with YaYa & Gangstalking. I have a new platform on Google podcast and I have to say I feel like a rock star. I have a new lease on life being able to have fun communicating through a podcast with great support and customer service. I would give them a big thumbs up and refer them to anyone who is interested in having their very own podcast. You would be going first class if you utilize a Google podcast for your platform.

two ideas. Google podcast is awesome and I love its simplicity. if the developers could add these two features that would be perfect. 1. Listeners can add comments to every episode. 2. Usually each episode has a different cover from the general cover of the show. I found it when I was using “Castbox” and I believe if you can add this feature to google podcast that would be perfect.

Good Simple App. Overall, this is the best Podcast app that I have used. I like the ‘feed’ style since I don’t have to constantly mark as played, it just displays all my podcasts like a Twitter feed. The feed with a queue is the best way to do it in my opinion since I don’t have to feel like I am managing anything. One thing I would like to see is an iPad app, as well as add the Podcast feed to the web app for when I am on my Mac. Without that it is not great having my Podcast experience limited to just my phone.

Fine for casual use. I guess this app is fine. But once you have subscribed to more than 20 or so podcasts it becomes tedious to find a podcast that you have subscribed to. I think I have over 100 podcasts that I subscribe to at the moment and the only way to organize them is in one straight line. This is embarrassing for Google. Other podcast apps that you organize by tag or by category or by folder. My other main concern is that it is not possible to limit your search by language. I suppose Google thinks it has such an amazing search algorithm that all you need is one search box. ButThis is far too limiting and its algorithm is constrained by the experience of its own developers, Most of which I assume are monolingual. Or at least only searching in one language. Do they think I want to change the language of my phone in order to tell the search box in my Podcasts app what languages I’m looking for? This is ridiculous.

Needs lots of bug fixes. New review: Reinstalling the app again has resolved the issues with the crashing. There are two main issues now that need to be resolved 1. Listening location of an episode within the app and syncing to other devices is erratic. 2. Most of my Completed episodes are not showing as completed in the app. They show up fine in the web interface. Original review: I’ve been using 3rd party apps on the iPhone since before the App Store even existed. This is the worst app I’ve ever used. I mean you have ONE JOB! To simply play audio files. You’d think we’re trying to fly to the moon. The app constantly crashes and forgets locations. On occasion I have had to attempt to start a podcast up to 5 times. I want to use it because the layout is great and like having it tied to my Google account so I can listen through the web and keep things synced. Please fix the app!!!!

I Actually Really Like it but…. I actually really like this app, but it doesn’t seem to know where I leave off. If I pause it or try to skip time it tends to go back in time, like it isn’t keeping up with where I am. I do have background app refresh on, but that doesn’t make the difference. It’s very irritating trying to find where I left off even if I just pause the episode… Otherwise it’s the best I’ve seen as far as features and episode organization abilities.

App keeps crashing. Just updated but still app crashing ! Can’t search any podcast and still hasn’t been fixed yet ? ( when u click explore and hit search , it crashes)

Pad version PLZ!. I like to use it on my phone, but on the iPad, it shows disaster. Is it so hard to make a pad version? Just lay the screen down please.

Many improvements needed for this app. + play at faster speed function + need to update automatically instead of waiting user to press “add queue” + need a function for user to bookmark the audio need to keep to listen again in later time

Clean and easy to use. Switched to this app after Apple Podcasts became unusable. Should have done it earlier, this app is so much faster and cleaner. The speed of the app clinches every other podcast app for me. Minor quibbles are that when I add a podcast to the queue it doesn’t remove it once I’ve played it, so will keep playing that podcast next until I remove it from queue, and that not all podcasts are available.

Needs to improve fast. Lacks many basic features other apps have. Like mark episodes as played, bulk mark as played, import from other apps. These are just a few examples. Cmon google...

I decide what to subscribe to. So hard to find a podcast player that doesn’t have glitches. Apple’s offering is full of them. Google Podcasts was working extremely well for me, but today I’ve found the app has subscribed me to a podcast that I did not agree to. When I unsubscribe, it remains subscribed. Makes me wonder if the app has unsubscribed me from any shows I did subscribe to. Also, is 24 hours in Google Podcasts a different measure of time to what the rest of us use? Setting played podcasts to delete after 24 hours seems a bit hit and miss. I might as well do it myself.

Subscriptions lacks maturity. The recent update has led to the app hiding my subscriptions and all episodes of my favourite podcasts… with a reference to not being over 18… which I have been for well over 18 years… after searching apparently I had to add my birthdate to my google account… which fixed the problem yesterday. But today the issue has returned… and as my birthday is already recorded I can’t resolve it. 🤬

Shuts off. Most recent update: podcast stops playing when the screen is off. Get it sorted google.

Crashes when trying to use search function. As above. App is awful and you cannot search shows.

BROKEN - the time scale is wrong. Getting fed up with how many times if forgets where it is playing after coming back to a paused podcast and it starts in the wrong place (earlier start point).

Garbage - no stars - unusable. I’ve been trying for ten minutes now to start playing a podcast. It has started playing, then had the app crash FIFTEEN times. This app only works reliably if you leave your screen open on the app - you can’t lock your screen or swap to another app. If you do, 30 seconds of podcast, then crash. Even when you do leave the app open, you’ll get random play back errors. If you enjoy podcasts, do not ever download this terrible, brain-breaking app.

Horrible. Horrible podcasting app that will constantly freeze and lock you out. Forget about any kind of seamless transition from car to AirPods it’s a total mess. I’m running an iPhone 12 Pro to new AirPods to a 2020 high end German car and it’s a frustrating mess even attempting to use this useless google app. I find myself using Spreaker and direct rrs feeds more and more in order to avoid this platform.

Full of bugs. Considering google is world leader in software, this podcast player is full of bugs and glitches. Keeps shutting down. Very tedious to keep a podcast playing.

Can’t remove watched casts. Podcast apps have two jobs. Play podcasts and get you access to podcasts to play. This app does a decent job of the first, but drops the ball on the second

Buggy as…. Stops playing when you lock phone when new episode selected, constant Playback Error whenever you try to continue listening to a previous episode etc… It’s happening more and more often, it’s defeating the purpose of having a podcast app, will be looking for a better one.

Needs iPad and Google Home support. Very disappointing that there is no iPad version and I am unable to play on my Google home via the app

Meh 😒. But there is a need for a native iPad App. Also add an ability to ‘Mark as Played’ past episodes, otherwise the Home Screen becomes overwhelming. Needs to feel like an iOS App. It doesn’t right now.

Why people love watching sports?. Just listened to this podcast and it has nothing to do with the title it was a tirade about people “not” watching women’s sport. Now before you “Tate” me , the reason why guys don’t watch women’s sport is that it’s because of the lack of the excitement magnet. For example, Watching a women’s tennis Game where every, and I mean every hit of the ball comes with the highest pitched scream - simply makes us guys cringe! Then of course If we watch a women’s game with our partners we get accused of enjoying it A little too much. Another concern I have is the female commentators. They seem to predominately criticise the players and the games whereas the male commentators rev up the game with their witty poetic commentary ~ “cometh the time, cometh the man” Sports, and sport players, get the money when there is broadcast sales. The more viewers, the more the broadcasters will invest into making this a major spectacle. Simple formula. Even the million dollar ads feature make sports stars, WHY? Because that’s what the women want! So the first question is why aren’t more women watching women’s sports? Why is there always a Lack of sisterhood. My suggestion? Work the problem, not the emotion.

Miracle Voices. Love Judy sharing her miracle stories😁🥰Thank you so much!!Kalki777

Good When It Works. When it works it’s fine till than you get a “playback error”

Keeps on crashing. On iPhone the app opens up fine and plays podcasts fine for the first minute or so and then crashes. Happens all the time. Had to change my rating to 1 star as the above-mentioned crashing became so annoying that I deleted the app and reinstalled it. Now it keeps on crashing when trying to search for podcasts and I haven’t been able to listen to any. Super crashy app. Would not recommend it.

Frustrating bug. The app crashes after 10-30 seconds play time of a podcast, it will do this continuously without reprieve. Sometimes turning my phone on and off will fix it, sometimes it won’t.

Frequent crashes, no way to clear playback error. Often crashes after just start playing for several seconds, once an episode is failed to load there’s no way to clear it unless I play some other episodes first to potentially clear the cached error.

Please fix the bugs. App used to be great, now I can’t play a podcast without it crashing (unless I keep the app open). It’s bizarre. My phone is new.

One issue. Love the app but one issue. Every now and then it deletes your listening history on a podcast. Very frustrating.

6’o’clock Rock lives on. If you want the best of the 50’s and 60’s and the most accurate representation of Don Lynn’s 6’o’clock Rock on 3KZ, then you found it .

Needs iPad version. Seriously guys, when are we getting an iPad version WITH landscape view???

app crahses alot - unusable. Keeps crashing, more so after the latest update! Please fix it

Can’t listen to explicit podcasts. Google is gatekeeping explicit podcasts because they’re “not sure” if I’m over 18. I think they just want my government ID which I will not be giving them. Garbage.

Keep crashing. App keep crashing on my iPhone the past year. So frustrating!

Amazing, but needs an app for iPad. An iPad app would be greatly appreciated; the larger screen would be great for browsing the various podcasts and their episodes, and having everything available (as a good experience, not the iPhone app running on iPad) on whatever device I’m using would be awesome. Google has the resources to make an iPad app, but whether or not it’s worth it for them is a different story.

App is greedy with screen space. Please revert to previous screen visual, V2.0.24 overwrites the Lock Screen AND the Home Screen which means I can’t see any of the widgets I’ve loaded into each of those screens. The app is unnecessarily greedy with screen space now.

Cannot play anything without a playback error. This app doesn’t work for me. It hasn’t been able to successfully play a podcast episode in months. The episodes either crash or are unplayable due to playback errors. Avoid using this app until it has been patched.

Crashes. Keeps crashing–can’t get 5 minutes through streaming or playing a podcast without it crashing and having to hit play again. Over it.

Nice but buggy. The app design is great, fast and what you need. However it’s still too buggy, if I forward or pause a podcast it forgets where I was a jumps back to the beginning of the session. I’ve changed phones and even on the iPhone 13 the bug remains.

Still has bug, good app but need to update. When you listen to a podcast, it gets stuck even if the audio is already downloaded!

Crashes 30secs after playing pod, then can’t play podcast. As the title states. This is what happens each and every time I play a podcast Open the app Choose app Press play After 30secs the app closes completely Re-open the app Press play on same podcast “playback error”- can’t play pod, now or ever. I tried downloading the podcast first, same sorta thing happens.

Automatically add to queue. Liking the app so far. Would be great if there’s an option for episodes to be automatically added to the playing queue after they’re downloaded.

So many bugs. I am now trying other podcasts apps- I like the design of this one but the constant bugs (playback error, podcast shutting down 20 seconds in, etc) are so irritating, I can’t use this anymore.

Fast and simple. By far the most speedy app. Simple layout and I like that it has web access so u can log in from your work computer if u need to. I wish it had a dark mode option though.

Crashes constantly. Playback error when reopening. Was so good… moving to another platform now

To Buggy. Bugs have gotten worse. Just closes itself. Used to happen once in a blue moon. Now it’s every second time I use it. Don’t want the hassle anymore. Trying a new app.

Good but needs work. I have a suggestion which is a needed feature. Make it easier to mark all as played and download all episodes instead of doing it individually

Meh. I’ll be honest. I’m super surprised that omnicorp can’t muster up a better podcast app than Overcast but hey, here we are. Now I pair both my home minis manually via the home app so I can enjoy my favourite pod’s

Great fun. Marvellous chats about the whole spectrum of art making. The weighty, serious nature of the arts gets a well needed lift.

Issues with playback. Great app, but will stop after launching the app within a few seconds when connected via Bluetooth devices.

Issues that never get fixed. When I play a podcast it either won’t play or it plays for a few minutes then turns off When I sort out my queue it just reverts back to what it was previously. I stick with the app as I figure the issues would be resolved but it’s been months and it’s still not working well.

Sometimes have issue after long pause. After long time pause, sometimes have error to continue and you have to try several times to continue.

Playback Errors. Hi Google just wondering when you will be fixing the PLAYBACK ERROR that your App has regularly as it is very annoying. Especially if you are doing a run or a workout as you can’t just stop it and do your silly fixes to try to fix it. It’s a great app but we want it to work 100% of the time not 90%.

Buggy but great!. I love the app as it is simple to use. Unfortunately I have iPhone 11 and the app is really buggy. When it refreshes random podcasts episodes will show as unlisted to and other times it will correct. Amongst this the app sometimes cuts the audio and the app has to be restarted. On my pixel it doesn't have the crashes but I still see the refresh issue. Small annoyance but would be great if it no longer existed unless I'm the only one getting this?

Very bad. Glitchy and beyond annoying. Freezes pretty much every single first time I turn the screen off. Unintuitive interface and awkward to find your downloaded podcasts. I hate this app so much it’s unbelievable.

Missing Custom URL. Cannot add a podcast from a URL? This is a necessity in a podcast app.

Constant crashing. I have to restart the app at least a handful of times when I start to use it. It’ll play for five seconds then crash. Over and over and over.

Keeps crashing. The app keeps crashing

Should be 5 star but constant crashing lately. A nice ,clean, simple podcast app that for the most part does what you want and doesn’t clutter up your world with other features, However in the past while, maybe 6 months, it has started to randomly pause on my iPhone 14 pro. I haven’t been able to figure out the problem. Tried many things. All I can think of is that’s it’s cumulative since it’s getting worse. Was 1-2 times per day months ago, now 1-2 times per episode. Actually just now it kept happening but fully resetting my progress - so restarting the ep after 10-15 min…. Restarting iPhone does nothing. Deleting and reinstalling app does nothing. If I can’t fix this I will have to delete and never use again which will suuuccckkkk because I listen to a lot of archived stuff so forgetting which I’ve already heard is a big bummer. Anyway hope this gets to the devs so they can help me and likely others.

Almost Great. Frequently craps out on my iphone as I listen with airpods, which never happens when I use apple podcasts. No idea why.

Always forgets my progress. This is an infuriating bug. I'll pause my podcast, go do something else, come back, and it thinks I'm only a minute or so in. Please fix before I jump ship!!

Apple CarPlay & GPod. The interface of CarPlay and GPod don’t seem to work. When I click on a show it often plays some other random episode from another podcast.

Constantly crashes on iOS. Every time I launch the app and start a podcast, it crashes 2-3 times after playing for about 30 seconds. It starts working properly after the third crash, but it’s extremely annoying to have to relaunch it multiple times. It’s been acting up for the last year or so

Why can’t I cast to Google home? Need improvement.. I switched to iPhone but much prefer Google tech and apps where possible. I use Google podcast as my primary podcast app but a few features are missing; 1. Why can’t I cast to my Google Home Speaker? Spotify allows this functionality, I can’t understand why this app won’t. 2. Needs Force Touch / holding down on an episode to mark it as played/unplayed.

Still better than apple podcast app. Crashes every single time I start a podcast. It usually starts up a minute or so behind where it stoped playing, unlike apple podcasts which crashes and starts you over at the beginning of your show.

Worst than the app balados. There's no options to see the episodes you always heard, there're no options at all. You have to scroll all the episodes to find the one you didn't listen yet

Every episode is amazing. If you think the rich and famous don’t deserve their success, think again. Behind each winner is a lifetime of rejection slips, being ostracized, financial devastation, and just plain as luck. We Regret To Inform You throws light on the path to success of many famous and not so famous people. Their absolute commitment to their goals is humbling and uplifting. Each half- hour episode is a well-crafted masterpiece of story telling. Like the proverbial potato chip, once you’ve tried one, you will want the whole batch.

iPad and Apple Watch version please?. I like the app and service, but the lack of iPad and Apple Watch support is what made me uninstall it. Would definitely install it again if support for those 2 platforms would be added!

Crashing. It constantly crashes.. it has a great interface, i moved from apple podcast to this, and overall i prefer this app. But it is constantly crashing and overheating my phone. only way it plays is if i leave my screen on, and keep it open to the app.

Crashing randomly over & over. Hard to rate anything more than 1 star when the app doesn’t really work for more than a few seconds without crashing, unfortunately. When it works - I’d probably give the app 4 stars overall. I WANT to like and use the app, but at this point, I’m deleting it because there are other podcast apps I can use that function. I first tried the app months ago, & was having the same issue (app crashing and not loading without crashing 2-5 times first then it would work for a bit, then crash again) so I deleted it. Thought I’d give it a try again recently cuz I was trying to keep my apps more organized and connected with my laptop if possible, and Google is good that way. But deleting it after I write this. I’ll come back and re-try Google podcasts app in a few weeks to see if anything changes. (Written on May 31, 2022 - I will update my review/rating accordingly in the future, if required)

Works Well.. I rarely have problems with performance. Every podcast I’m looking for is available. Solid app.

Crashes every time. Love the UI, but every time I use the app it crashes 5-30s after it loses screen focus (either screen off or open different app). Then I have to press play from the control centre, and it works fine unless I open the app on-screen again.

I remember this app being better. I use to use Google Play to manage my podcasts, switch to Apple, then Spotify. I recently switched back to google podcast because I wanted something that would work with my Google Home. But for some reason if I pause the podcast too long it doesn't remember where it was after being paused for more than a few minutes (maybe it only effects custom RSS feeds, but still). The interface doesn't support as much custom settings for individual feeds and no support from Google Maps for integration (but support for Spotify?!). Interface is clean though. Edit: for some reason it won’t let me auto download custom rss feed podcasts either.

Best podcast app. Best one out there. Biggest selection. Simple.

Every episode stops playing. Every single episode of every single podcast I’m subscribed to, downloaded to my phone or not, stops playing at the half way mark and at the end of every episode. Without fail.

Crashes.Crashes.Crashes! Deleted!. I like it, but a few major issues: (1) the app just keeps crashing randomly when playing in the background; (2) it loses it’s playback spot for longer podcasts like “No Agenda” when continuing playback after stopping the app (or crashes); (3) can’t find some podcasts that show up in Apple podcasts or Spotify.

Crashes a lot. I have this on an iPhone and an iPad and it crashes a lot. I have to try about 5 times to start it to get it to stay on screen. This is a very repeatable bug that needs to be fixed.

Crashes frequently. The app frequently crashes after a few seconds of play on a regular basis.

🤩🤩🙃😁🥹😄. Google Team!!!!! 🙂😅😌👨🏿‍💻

Started crashing and now won’t play on Google Home. This was my preferred podcast app but it has been crashing after I start a podcast and giving playback errors at an increasing frequency. I put podcasts on to sleep so it’s not very relaxing to get up three times to restart it 😑 Also, why does this Google app no longer cast to my Google home player. That was the reason I switched from the Apple app in the first place! I liked the sleep timer and playback speed features so it’s a shame.

App crashes when you search. Can you please fix this. I can’t search for anything on the app. When ever you search the app crashes

Frequent Crashing. The app crashes a good three or four times when trying to start a new episode of something, especially if it’s a longer episode (iPhone 12). Has been like this for a while and never seems to get patched. No good reason simple audio playback should be crashing this often on modern phone hardware.

Retry Download. Retry Download Retry Download Retry Download Retry Download Retry Download Cancel Download That about sums it up.

Forgetful. Good app but would like to see a bookmark option.Right now you can only subscribe or not subscribe.

Excellent App. Really minimalist design and does all that is needed. My favourite podcast app.

Absolute trash. I can’t stop the app from auto playing in my car, so I am deleting it. There’s nothing on the web that addresses this issue properly.

google podcast is awesome. its super easy to use

Auto download does not work!!!!!!. I want to like this but the auto download “feature “ absolutely does not work. Fix it please.

Buggy. Great UI but so buggy! Often crashes 4 times consecutively on IPhone SE

Rating and review. This app needs a place to leave comments on podcast episodes and a way to rate them as well. It's my favorite podcast app otherwise but these features would make it sooo much better

Keeps Crashing. Really enjoy using this app but lately it keeps crashing shortly after I begin playing a podcast and lock my phone.

Was my favourite podcast app until…. It started randomly crashing so often that I can’t even use it anymore.

Casting is super buggy. Lock Screen controls cause playback to start unexpectedly

Stops randomly. For podcasts that are subscribed to, the episode will stop randomly and the progress bar will reset. Strange bug on the iPhone that wasn’t on the one plus 6t

Good app but issues with crashing. App crashes at least a couple times when starting it at the start of the day. Hoping this gets fixed over time as it is a good app otherwise.

App keeps crashing. As of recently this app keeps crashing. Is there a fix coming?

L’application crash à chaque utilisation. Elle ferme tout seul environ 13 fois de suite avant de pouvoir l’utiliser normalement , et cela à chaque jour

Constantly crashes. Takes me having to open the app a minimum of 3-4 times before it eventually stops crashing. Please fix.

Only plays if screen is unlocked. This has been my favourite podcast app for years. Until this week. Now it will only play if my phone is unlocked. I’ve tried every setting I can think of. Still nothing works. Very annoying! UPDATE: apparently restarting my phone fixed the issue!! Haha. I can’t delete this review.

Very grateful!. Great job and help for those who want to learn more and practice English

Needs iPad support. Why does this not have iPad support?

Not made for iPad. That UI looks like it is made for iPhone not iPad. Just make it for iPad and I will be the first one download it.

Crash all the time. App crashes everytime it starts to play a podcast. It is broken for more than a year and even after several updates.

Great Podcast App. Easy to navigate. Great selection.

Great for iPhone listeners. It is a shame that this app doesn’t have an iPad version. I tend to do a lot of designing on my iPad and I enjoy listening to podcasts at the same time. The selection of podcasts through Google is amazing, but the app is clearly designed for iPhone. I will still use it, because I love it, but a version specifically for my device would easily bump this up to 5 stars.

Crashes and overheats. I find this so frustrating because Google podcasts has the best interface and is my favorite. I like the feed, control over the playback speed, and the queue. However, the app is almost unusable because it takes about 10 attempts to actually load without crashing and when it is playing my podcasts my iPhone gets really hot to the touch.

Jumps Timeline. Coming from a OnePlus 6T, this was my go to podcast app. It is the same in look and function. The issue I am having is the timeline jumps on its own. It can happen when I switch from my Bluetooth headphones to my car. It will go back to a random time. It will never go forward. Also happens when trying to advance using the 30 sec time advance. Tried the apple podcast app, but it does not allow me to select a queue from what I can see.

Great but some issues. This podcast app is awesome - great cross device sync, ability to skip gaps, episode level search But the problem I’ve been facing is that the progress in the episode is not represented correctly by the iOS play progress bar on the Lock Screen or sometimes even the podcast app progress bar itself. As a result, I press pause and I jump back to an earlier part of the episode, losing my progress. It’s pretty annoying, please fix this!

Please fix the crashes!!. I love this app to organize my flow of podcast, but I’m at the point where I may have to consider another app due to the constant crashes. Before when I opened the app and played content, the app would crash once but now it’s constantly crashing and I can’t even get 7 seconds through a podcast after closing the app.

Crashes. Thought it was getting better when it didn't crash over the weekend, but then I updated the app to the latest version, and first thing this morning, it crashed. I don't know what they fixed with the latest update, but I sure do wish the app didn't crash the first time I use it every day. Also, would be nice if it synced across devices, like Gmail and chat.

Crashes constantly, completely unusable. Worked absolutely great for a month or so, but now it crashes after about 30 seconds or less of podcast play. It often can’t remember my progress. It’s to the point where this app is literally useless to me. I’ve restarted the phone, reinstalled the app. I even bought a new phone, and again it worked for about a month before it started crashing and being completely unusable again.

It’s terrible. Pro: when you move to a new device, Google can easily port your podcasts ubscription and it’s useful. Cons: the app crashes all the time! It’s incredibly annoying!!! Also, it doesn’t show the cover images of episodes, the queue management is not good and even delete episodes is an awful experience. Explore new podcasts or find episodes is terrible, even more if you try to look for in different languages. It’s a shame, since this is a Google product.

I hate playback errors.. I get more playback errors with this app than ANY other app. It’s so frustrating when my entire drive I’m trying to finish a podcast that just says “playback error” every time you try to load it. I’ve used this app for over four years (and that’s why I have up until this point just out of convenience and too lazy to set up a new app) but I will be switching for this reason, one out of five episodes is a “playback error”

Great but crashes. Easy to use. Great suggestions. Keeps up with everything I’ve ever listened to. Variable speeds. Love this app but it crashes from time to time. When it does crash, the app doesn’t remember where I was in the podcast and will restart. Big bummer. This would easily be a 5 star app if the crashes went away and it would better remember my place within the podcast.

It works again. Was having problems with playback errors and crashing that got progressively worse. Deleted the app and tried other podcast apps, but didn’t like their functionality. Re-downloaded this app and it works perfectly.

Please fix timer bar. App is good except sometimes when I’m listening, the timer bar will just stop increasing. Thus when I pause and play again, it will be previous in the episode. Extremely annoying and borderline a deal breaker. iPhone 13 Pro. I tried to delete the app and reinstall but that didn’t help. Additionally, can we change the amount to skip forward and backwards? 30s forwards is sometimes too much.

No support for chapters, broken episode links, missing some popular podcasts. As of this writing... A much improved UI. Really like the Activities, suggestions, and a rather simple layout. Great accessibility with VoiceOver screen reader. However, seems like there are some popular podcasts missing, no support for podcast chapters, and even broken links for podcast episodes. I will have to wait to make this app a default podcaster for me!

Fix the fast forward options. This podcast has the best layout and has been my go to players for years. After a recent update you can no longer fast forward by 30 second increments. Now it skips to the next episode and there is no option to change the settings.

Regularly spontaneously quits. I like Google's podcast app better for navigation, but it is not good for discovery, and it regularly quits. Every morning I play NPR News Now, and every single time, it plays 20-60 seconds then quits like the app wasn't even running. So I restart, and the app has no idea it has already played 20-60 seconds of the podcast. The app will often quit several times at seemingly random times during a long listening session.

Finding everything I wanted to listen to today. Thank you. I was looking for specific item s of information and I found them. I was very pleased and will continue to look for information on this platform!

Bad app for your battery life.. Just like all google apps this one also drain battery so much that eventually I had to remove app. Though app is far better than iPhone podcast but I couldn’t stand with battery draining issue. Don’t understand what google do with making some billions by data drain and then ending up giving ads to people who are vegetation and giving slamon fish buying ads. God knows why google is abusing environment by draining batteries and unrelated ads. Both waste of money for advertiser and people.

Frustrating. I use the app everyday on my iPhone. Like clockwork, I open and start a podcast just to have the app force close a few seconds later. You power the app back up again and then it won’t play the podcast started originally: “playback error has occurred”. I don’t know if it’s the cache or Apple trying to be exclusive but it’s so frustrating. Two stars for ease and simplicity. I miss Podcast Addict.

Good, but…... I use it for over a year now. Like the UI more than Apple Podcast’s but: - crashes from time to time. Also, when my iPhone goes to Auto-Lock, it stops playing 50% of the time. This drives me crazy, since I have to open my iPhone and find the app to switch it on again. - I am subscribed to many podcasts and I really miss Apple Podcast’s option to search only within my library. So yeah, Google’s product search seems inferior to me.

Just basic functionality. The showstopper for me is that next track and prev track can't be mapped to jump back and jump forward. So I can't use my ear bud controls to jump back when I wasn't paying attention. I have to tap phone screen to do it. That's a whole lot harder when running. I was shocked to see this missing. Not sure how they deem this shippable.

Not great on iOS. Overall not a bad app, it has certainly improved since it was first released. But compatibility and reliability is far from ideal. Any consistency trying to play or control podcast playback if you have any Google Home/Nest speakers is a joke. The app might connect 1 in every 4-5 tries or maybe not at all until you reset it multiple times. It also frequently loses its place in playback and you have to try and figure out where the podcast playback last left off.

NEEDS progress tracking. I love the look and feel of this app that follows the simple and clean google aesthetic. My only qualm is that it doesn’t track your progress to remember where you left off on a podcast if you close the app. The neglect of this feature is inconvenient and frustrating. However, I like the app overall, and once they fix this it will be my go-to podcast app!

Battery Issues. Update: it seems like the battery issues have been resolved with the latest update. Thanks: I like the podcast app but the battery drains very quickly and the phone heats up. Shutting down the app solves it. This is a new problem, I think with the last update.

Nice alternative to Apple Podcast app. I like the simplicity of Googles product and especially the feature of being able to sort episodes from oldest or newest first with one touch of a button. Lot more intuitive. Looking forward to more features as this product matures.

Excessive data usage. I really like the simple interface of this app and the queue feature is excellent however I’m disappointed in the excessive mobile data use of this app. I download all my podcasts over WiFi however the app is still consuming a lot of mobile data. It’s used over 1 gb of data in just over a week even though the podcasts are downloaded over WiFi.

The Queue Feature!. The queue feature got me to change over from the Apple podcast app. Only critique is there is no folder/organization of podcasts you subscribe to feature in the current version.

I love this app. The only thing I could ever complain about this app is that sometimes it won’t load the episodes right away. But after waiting a little bit it loads. It’s great audio quality and nice controls ! :D over all great app I love podcasts and it’s so good!

Perfect when it doesn’t crash. On iOS my Google podcast app will crash at least 5 times every morning before it somehow magically heals itself and behaves like it should. It takes true commitment to stay on this app but other than the annoying crashes. I like it better than others

Literally stopped working overnight. Yesterday I was able to hear my podcasts play with my ringer on silent, with my phone screen off, and open in the background while I used other apps. Suddenly this morning all of that stopped working. Doesn’t matter if the iPhone speakers are playing or if I’m casting to an external device. Now if I want to listen to a podcast I literally can’t use my phone for anything else while doing so. Absolute trash app.

Excellent, but one mayor flaw. Google Podcasts has been my favorite podcasts app for years. They have done a lot to improve it and in the present state it’s certainly one of the top apps. In, iPhone though, when you press skip forward or back on your earbuds, it doesn’t skip forward/back 15/30 seconds it skips back/forward to the next/previous episode. This I’m sure will be repaired soon and I’ll be back to using it full time again.

Seth and Neal are thé visionaries we need.. I was listening to Neal’s interview of Seth on my way to a buyer’s consult with a new investor. As real estate professionals with a moral compass, we must present triple bottom line scenarios to our investor clients. Look for opportunities to add value for your future tenants. Present the notion of investors modeling this kind of forward thinking for their children to your investor clients. Seth and Neal’s conversation is such good teaching for us as change oriented agents. A must listen!

Auto News is broken. I like the app but I don’t like it auto downloading ABC New Update or CBS which I have NOT subscribed to and I don’t need the app filling up my tiny storage cap on my iPhone 6 either. I see the update in the notes saying the user can go to Explore and For You to subscribe however when I go there I am clearly NOT subscribed which I can confirm by looking at my list of actual subscriptions. Please fix Google! You forgot to make this feature Opt Out-able!

Not that great. Castbox is still my preferred until it started crashing recently. My major problem with This app: Only shows about 5 episodes search results on a topic (impossible and super limiting on finding new podcasts based on its episode topic). It’ll show you countless podcast SHOWS with your search term but only a handful of episodes regarding that topic from other podcasts that don’t have that term in the show title. A basic feature for any podcast app.

It’s so stupid of Google. This is one of the only Google products that I e never heard anyone complain about. Its garnered high praises from everyone that listens to podcasts. Music and podcasts are not the same thing and don’t belong in the same app. This was my favorite podcast player so of course google has to ruin it with greedonomics. It takes nothing to maintain a podcast app. Developers do it from there basement and are successful. There is no reason to shut this down beyond a stupid corporate decision. Keep music and podcasts separate.

Used to be great. This app used to be great, which is why I initially switched to it, as it was less glitchy and more reliable than the Apple Podcasts one. Now, not so much. The most recent updates are terrible. The app crashes constantly for no reason and drains the battery much more than any other app even while charging, which it never did before. I will be switching to a different app until they fix the hot mess that this one has become.

It’s a start.... 3 stars because it is not that bad, however, could be better. I wish the interface was friendlier. I wish there were ways to discover podcasts based on what I listen to, and maybe ratings? Basically, I wish for the most common features that Apple Podcasts have but in a Google interface. Maybe add a feature to give Apple Podcasts users a reason why they should check this out.

Does not work. When you try to play something it crashes and forces close itself. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling and still does not work. The app is up to date and I even tried to restart my phone. The app worked great until yesterday afternoon. I wrote feedback and thought I would write about my problem here. Using another app in the meantime until this one works again.

Keeps crashing UPDATE: reinstalling fixed it. Recently started crashing within 10 seconds of pressing play every time. Literally cannot listen. Also often crashes on app startup. UPDATE: removing and then reinstalling the app seems to have fixed the issue.

this app is awesome but there’s two more features I need. hi, google I love google podcast so so much butter is two problems one is that at the end of the episode of the podcast I have to unlock my device and get the next one and the second problem is the filters I put the oldest first to get like episode one episode two every time I close the app when I’m done and then I open it and then I open it and the filters selected to newest first if you could fix this problem thank you guys

Almost there but needs fixes. It was about time that google made a podcast app. The interface is extremely simple and easy to use. It has several flaws though. The queue is cleared without me clearing it occasionally, no subscription link feature, and resuming a podcast has a bug where the podcast takes forever to start playing again and I’ll usually have to restart my phone to play it again. Please fix and I’ll be a much happier user.

By far the best, but.... Using an iPhone 8 Plus, running iOS 14.2, when I first request the app, the load time seems unusually long, and the app crashes *every time*. It’s only when I request the app a second time does it open. Features: It would be nice to be able to rate & review podcasters in-app. The podcasters are literally begging for reviews on iTunes. It would be nice to do that from within this app too.

Cast option is replaced with AirPlay. When trying to cast my podcasts there is an AirPlay button and a Cast button. When selecting AirPlay it brings up AirPlay devices. When selecting Cast it brings up AirPlay devices. The app before would being up cast devices like my nest mini when selecting cast and it would bring up AirPlay devices when selecting AirPlay. Please fix this bug. Great app otherwise. Wish it worked better with the Apple Watch too, but I don’t mind not being able to download podcasts to my watch really.

Crashing constantly. Loved this app for a long time because it actually had all my favorite podcasts and it was easy to use! But I absolutely HATE how buggy it is. I open this app and have to wait like 3 crashes before I can access a podcast that might not even work. Ive tried to ignore it but the app has just become unusable. There are many podcast apps that I have used for years that were lightweight in comparison, yet the interface drew me away. There is so much opportunity for this app and it shouldn't have to be brought down in quality due to the many bugs it has.

Was great, now won’t play outside of app. I had no issues with google podcasts and now all of a sudden the app won’t play in the background with other apps open. I even left the google podcast app up and open and as soon as my phone screen went black to save battery the app closed down and stopped playing. I tried playing it through my google mini without Bluetooth and the podcast just stopped playing less than a minute into it. This hasn’t affected any other music/Bluetooth apps.

My favorite podcast app… one feature request. Definitely my favorite podcast app. Would love it if there could bean option for a fade out (selectable length would be a bonus!) at the end of podcast/queue:/ sleep timer. People who listen to podcasts to fall asleep will appreciate it!

Okay app. Some pretty basic functionality is missing. Why am I not able to delete a podcast episode from my list? It only removes it after an episode is completed and does it 24 hours later. What if I want it deleted now because I want to organize my episode list? Or because I don’t want to finish the episode and want it gone? There’s no way to do that. It’s surprising that they made deleting podcast episodes so complicated.

Simple and works!. I’ve been using Apple Podcasts forever and each time they update it I’m frustrated. The latest is the worst. After looking for a replacement, too many want a yearly subscription, for things I don’t care about AND to get rid of ads. Google is so much better! Reminds me of what Apple used to be. It’s not complicated and it works!!!

Great player, but not lately. This has been my go-to podcast player. My top favorite feature is that you have many more choices in regard to playing speed. It can increase/decrease by .1 rather than jumping by half in either direction. It has always played great in the background until a few weeks ago, but now it won’t. It won’t even play with the screen off most of the time, which renders any podcast player useless.

Order Sorting in Queue. For the iPhone app, sorting the order of podcasts in Queue is cumbersome. It’s a little “sticky” and instead of racking and stacking the selected podcast, the action tends to scroll up or down. Additionally, I would like the option to change the function of what skip track does - specifically to just skip forward/back 30 seconds.

I’m not a developer. I’m a business owner trying to understand this new space to me and I like the quirky and interesting podcasts I’ve heard so far. I’m still lost in all the technical terms I don’t yet know, but at least they are making search as interesting as possible! Thanks
