Turns your iPad into a standalone MPC !. I own a MPC Studio but I find myself using the iMPC Pro 2 App more. I can do everything that my studio can do and it’s touch screen and a standalone. My only gripe is, it should have came with at least one VST engine. But overall, well worth pennies it cost.

Highly recommend for serious idea making. Great app and love the workflow, use it every day. Got a song w 100k plays I made on here. But wish they would fix a few things: -Presets listed alphabetically or able to change the order. It’s a mess right now for me after making tons of these -Filters knob throws off the adsr when in one shot mode. Can’t low pass and also maintain release time. Just a lil bug. -Audio from AU3’s gets crackly distorted etc on bounces. Running a 2018 iPad Pro and runs great on playback so not sure why bounce and stems can’t hang. Overall love the app and for sure recommend. Just be ready to import your own sounds, packs are pretty meh.

Cool for people new to creating music. You can do some cool stuff within this program but it is limited. The app starts glitching out and freezing a few times on songs with maybe only 3 tracks and 1 AU. Exporting files are a pain. Search around. This app is not bad...but there are more thought out options out there and perhaps with some updates this can be a go to also.

Win My Heart Again like MPC 3000.... The interface looks attractive. The loop trigger by1/8th-1/128th in Perform mode is a BEAST... internal sampling, chopping, normalizing and all of the edit features looks well thought out! Almost worth forgiving you guys for taking so long to bring 2.0 to the BIG SCREEN -10.5. I’ve installed about 4gb of libraries in the iMPC Pro 2 app by dragging out the folder in file sharing in iTunes then rewriting it back in and every time I’ve tried to chop a long sample it crashed. Maybe because I dropped and dragged them into the file sharing folder then dropped and dragged it back into the file sharing section as opposed to using AudioCopy. They played just fine but when I tried to chop a sample in iMPC Pro 2 it crashed. I’ve removed all of the uploaded samples and drums and the chopping feature works just fine. I want to add pics to the libraries I’ve installed. Any way I can get them to show up like the iMPC Pro Pack sound purchased libraries? Is there a limitation of how many sounds I can have per folder? Other than that I’d love to integrate with Cubasis 2 or BeatMaker3.

A week later, can’t make a sound.. There are four possibilities here: 1) The user interface is so badly designed that someone with a music degree—and who’s been multitracking and editing digitally for 30 years—is helpless. The IMPC PRO interface is absolutely impenetrable. 2) It works, but the designers assume that purchasers of IMPC PRO already possess vast esoteric knowledge of this family of products. 3) It works, but the learning curve is just impossibly steep; see (2). 4) The functional model for this app is that it is composed of many separate modules—which you must purchase or “earn” through the useless IMPC “Academy”—without which the app doesn’t work. In either case, a giant waste of time. I’m deleting this app with prejudice.

Screen issues with IPad Pro v2. The app is 70% the same as the previous version, really should just be an update instead of a new app. I'm using the iPad Pro version2 12.9, running IOS 10.3.3, and the drum pads are smaller. But love the new features. It's worth the money if you are into using Audio Units to expand your production.

Again.. Could not just update the first app. Add au and audio tracks but left everything the same. Nothing helps this app unless you have AudioCopy. Time line edit is so slow. Can’t rename tracks. Can’t import projects from impc Pro 1 or stem export. Such a bad role out and info given. It seems it took what the customer wanted and basically did enough to say we changed and upgraded everything for a whole new app. Retro yams needs step there game up. Basic ain’t enough. What separates them?

The new Wave. I have been a proud user of the IMPC tools and love creating with these and I'm super excited that the new tool. I am going to record a few songs with this and release them. I hope after long I will be able to contribute to the Retronyms team because being able to work on music on the go on my iPad has been a God send. To all too the people questioning if this app is worth it. Trust me it's worth every dime and look out for Big Reege!

Sequences. First off big fan of the Akai brand as a whole so I wont give this a terrible review. But is there any way to change the bpm of each individual sequence? I’m trying to incorporate this app into my live performances but unfortunately it wont be worth the money if I can’t have different sequences at different bpms similar to the original impc

Suggestion. I’m sure I can get some good music from this app. I like it and would give it a top spot in my workflow. However, the tuner is very difficult to control when adjusting pitch and time for samples. A metric readout along side the tuner would help a lot in nailing your spot when tweaking.

Am I missing something?. I finally bought this app because I thought I could import audio loops I made in other apps and slice them up for performance. That does not seem to be the case at all. The pasteboard feature I use easily to move sounds between other apps has no effect here. To make things worse, inter app input so far is completely non functional for any source app I’ve tried. Just dead, no sound, no connection. It seems like the only thing you can really do is buy pre made sample packs or record in directly. I hope there’s just something really obvious I’m missing, because I’m feeling cheated.

Dope. My only issue is I’m new to iPad production I miss my 2500 but how do I get it to read my record player as a line in I’m running my red and whites to an aux line plug in with the headphone adapter for iPad Pro and it won’t pick up as a line in, what do I need or a setting I can change

Ok to me it’s awesome again. So I guess they fixed the problem I mentioned with 3rd party apps. Saw the fix within the app before it showed up on the apple app site. Well again it’s awesome in my opinion. I love this app and use it almost daily for some time. Thankyou

Best music making app on iOS. This is my number one go to tool I use for making my beats now! Been using the iMPC then the Pro and now I’m using the iMPCpro2! This app is endless fun and creativity of awesome ideas you can bring to life. It is a true stand alone DAW!

PLEASE ADD MORE MPC STUDIO 2 BUTTON FUNCTIONALLY!. I purchased iMPC Pro 2 the day I bought my first iPad 3 yrs ago and still use it even after moving onto a full blown Mac & buying a mpc studio 2 with the MPC software. The 16 drum pads work like a charm but I cannot use any of the other buttons in their normal function. I kind of figured that since akai makes both products then you should be able to use the MPC studio, or any other akai usb products & have them work just fine with the iPad Pro. I would absolutely love to be able to use my touch strip, knob, play, note repeat etc basically turning my iPad into a screen for my MPC Studio when I don’t want to lug my MacBook around. Improve these features I will gladly return the app to a five star rating!

Crashes too often. I’ve had the app for a week and now when I try to load sounds through Audiopaste and the iTunes file sharing the app crashes EVERY SINGLE TIME. I have a lot of sounds on my PC and want to load them into the app. There’s also apparently no way to delete a sound from the library on the app once it’s in there.

FUN daw BUT!. Before I give my cons I would start off with the pro’s KILLER WORKFLOW!!! Love the look and the organization EVERYTHING IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU!!! Learning curve was a BREEZE! Everybody do the impc university thing the diploma is a pretty good soundpack. Now onto my cons: Why don’t we have a metronome on/off switch for playback and not just for recording? That is pretty standard and a must for me to get my groove going alot faster at the start of creating. Without the feature we are playing our groove possibly at the wrong tempo we set due to the fact we can’t hear it. I manually add 4/4 hi hats to have some sort of metronome. The mixer for tracks are cool BUT fader/fx controls up to 64 different sounds depending how many sounds you have on a track and its banks. So it forces you to mix the track sounds individually on the tweak side of things BUT WE CAN’T add fx that way nor have a hi mid lo eq. We have lo-pass and hi-pass which is ok but i would like to see fx to each individual pad with a 64 fader mixer for 1 track. I love the audio unit for instruments can we get that for fx? Fix that and this is a hands down 5star daw. Even with the above mentioned cons I couldn’t mention all the pro’s which are GREAT I have a blast when i work with the impc pro 2! Highly recommend this daw.

Do not buy!!! CRASHES CONSTANTLY, MIDI IS TERRIBLE. I have the most current iPad Pro 10.5” and completely updated OS. Don’t trust the reviews here. Search online and you will learn what I had to the hard way: THIS APP WILL CRASH QUICKLY AND REPEATEDLY, erasing your work and settings with it unless you save after every single input and don’t mind rebooting the app every few minutes after crashes. Building a new kit requires hours of frustration when the process could take minutes if the software was stable. MIDI is a mess. I cannot have both MIDI cables attached to my controller. If I do, this app will send a nonstop stream of data that prevents any use. The other option is to turn off MIDI out for this app. Either way, MIDI required stressful effort over multiple days just to get any result at all. Still miserable to use and still requires disabling 2-way MIDI communication. This app would be AMAZING if it functioned as promised.

Not there yet. When they fix the glitches I will give it 4 stars. When they add the missing features I will give it 5. What’s broken: It has trouble looping audio files from their own store. There is a crackle on the 1 and a hiccup at the end. The automatic tempo feature seems to be off. The AU instruments feature is crashy. Some apps load with missing controls. Some crash when you press buttons on the built in MpC keyboard. It’s a struggle. What’s missing: AU MiDI and AU effects are not supported. This means that you can’t add professional EQ and mastering plug ins. In general I like it but.... Right now it’s not a professional level DAW.

Quantize adds distracting delay while recording performance. I won’t spend too much time reviewing as half the time my reviews never show up, but I will say that this app has some great sounding packs and an interesting approach to creating tracks. While I am not a fan of sequencing any full production in a scene based arrangement , I do like using it for it’s percussion and one hits in audiobus. Now the real problem. If you want to record your performance while quantize is active you are in for a real distraction. For some reason if you press a pad it will play the off-time sound, and then also play the quantize sound. This makes it impossible to keep timing solid as it sounds like a delay. The only other choice is recording with quantize off, but then you need to spend all of your time quantizing notes manually. It’s a real chore that prevents me from rating this 4 stars. They need to fix this as it has been like this for months.

I Love App BUT PLEASE FIX THIS. 1st and for most I like to say “I Love this App!!!”. But I have a couple of issues I’m having using iMPC Pro 2.1.. This 1st issue bugs me the most. That would be the random cutting off or choke muting random sounds like I’m running out of polyphony on certain Projects when switching from one Pattern to another. The 2nd issue I have is that the mixer parameters changes with each Pattern. When I put my Project in Song format and make a Volume change or EQ change or EFX Send change for the overall Song it just only make changes to the Pattern that is selected. It always seem like it’s in Automation mode and I wish it a way to turn off this feature. I HATE THIS!!! This is is something you will notice and annoy you when you are splitting your instruments up into multi tracks. Like Kick Track 1, Snare Track 2, Bassline Track 3 etc..... Please investigate this and fix these issues. I’m using an 6 Generation iPad with 128gig of memory. I have 2 feature request and that would be Real-time Sample Time Stretching and Sample Loop Crossfading.

Recording latency. There is an issue with recording latency. Whenever i play with it as a toy, both with virtual pads as well as with my Presonus Atom controller, then everything is working fine with no issues. However, whenever i’m trying to record there is a lag and obvious latency which is frustrating because i have to spend a lot of time moving and adjusting the notes with my apple pencil in the timeline. I know that this is fixable. I own your old iMPC Pro for iPad, which you don’t even have in the app store anymore, and there is a zero lag or latency when recording, including when I’m using my Presonus Atom pad controller. I was excited about the new version and I do appreciate the improvements but at this point it appears that iMPC Pro is better suited for actual recording because of zero lag and stability. iMPC Pro 2 appears to be only good for toying around at this point. I have both iMPC Pro and Pro 2 on my 2nd gen iPad pro. All is up to date. I don’t get it. How is the old, seemingly obsolete iMPC Pro outperforms iMPC Pro 2 when it comes to actual recording?

Dud do not waste your money !!!!!!. Downloaded app today & it won’t open. Some sort of glitching. Was looking forward to diving into this beast!! Help please. All my iOS updates are current & all my apps are functioning at 100 %. No other issues....... Requesting a full refund garbage still won’t load. My iPad is only 2 years old with all the updates. And the developer has yet to contact me apologize nothing !! Just crickets 🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨

Has potential, but!!!. I love the GUI, the library. for the price it needs improvement, us app musicians rely on stable apps and I felt like we’ve been wronged. I’m not writing to bash someone’s hard work, but to stress what I expect for my money. Retronym fell really short again and we can not wait for updates if so we would have paid in installments. Please! less marketing and more productivity. I do use real Akai products and this falls short.

Can’t Load Your Own Samples. I spent a lot of money on this (in the app world anyway), and there is not simple way to load my own samples…which is why I bought it. I’m using the original version because this one makes it impossible to do anything I used to do. Sad. I really loved the original app but this…sucks.

Return Requested. Well, after multiple days of trying to make a basic track and getting nowhere, I’ve requested a refund. I’ve been using MPC hardware for over a decade and this app doesn’t even come close to what making a beat is like on any akai device. No click in play, no intuitive chopping (I set a start point on sample edit and in perform mode plays the sample nowhere remotely close to where I set the start point). The list goes on. Don’t waste your money.

My favorite app. Ease of use and sample is why I love it. Plus the akai mpc sequencer is second to none. It’s Dope now and will only get better. Def my go to app. Plus the audio units and ability to incorporate the in app function makes it number one for me.

IMPC University Not Available. I deleted my copy of iMPC Pro 2 from my iPad trying to get rid of multiple copies of Pro Pack programs that I had mistakenly created. When I redownloaded iMPC, iMPC University which I had not completed, was no longer available. How do I regain access to this tutorial?

Warning: No MIDI Out. The settings menu shows MIDI out configurations. However, there seems to be no MIDI Out functionality. I honestly have no idea how they can claim “Extensive MIDI Support.” It looks to be a fine program for sample playback, but unfortunately, lack of MIDI makes iMPC Pro 2 insufficient for my needs. Also note that I did have a couple times where the app froze when I was testing it.

worth the money?. 90% the same as impc pro as far as useful functionality for my needs goes. A few recs: There is no ability to import Factory Sounds from Pro to Pro 2. No ability to rename Tracks. And to transfer Projects from Pro to Pro 2 you have to use the archaic Itunes File Transfer process with your computer. Perhaps the Audio and AU Track record will come in handy for some. But the midi edit and audio edit features are not as good as those in, such as, Cubasis. Just me, but there is a 32 bar limit to the Tracks view Audi and IAA recordings. So you have to go from sequence to sequence to use the track editors for Full Song edits that may span Sequences. And Import/Export doesn’t directly connect to any useful libraries for me, like icloud, dropbox, audioshare. But if you’re clever you can make things happen using Audiocopy as an intermediary. If you like Impc Pro, you’ll like Impc Pro 2 better, and maybe the $25 cost will help the developers add more Ease of Use and interoperability features. Personally, I use impc only as input to Cubasis where its ez to edit, mix, import/export. But with the new record options, its becoming more a part of my Stable.

Surprise?. The original iMPC Pro I've used for years now. This just appeared out of nowhere. It's like the original app but with a facelift and more compatible with sounds and features, and some UI updates for better workflow. I wish there was a way to import all from v1 or do a full migration without audiocopy but that's an iOS limitation. Blame apple for not having an open file system. And there are *cough* amazing third party tools out there to move folders with sounds so iMPC2 can see them. The structure and user banks is very similar to v1. The midi control is much better... Haven't played with mic inputs. The wav previews are fast no more lag or crashes, Love the color scheme... Only request please give the pitch slider a sticky toggle so i don't need my wej all the time or have to hold my finger on it. I look forward to this new platform. Retronyms is a good group that has always taken care of me. Im the one that went through 3 wej's

Disappointed. Once you dig deep into this app, there is endless possibilities. It is a MPC on the go. I love it, made great beats and full songs with it. BUT in the last year, Once I load in my samples and start making folders to get my self organized. I would say maybe the 15th beat it won’t load a session and crashes every time. When someone puts a lot of trust into a app for there music product you don’t expect to have to delete the entire app and re due everything for it to do it all over again. PLEASE FIX - 10 star if this is fixed.

Pro beat making on the go. I love this app I do a lot driving so I’m in my car a lot on my breaks I sit in my car and make beats and plus when an idea comes to my head I can put it down and then open up the project on my Mpc studio black software on my desktop it works seamlessly with MPC 2.0 SOFTWARE A MUST HAVE FOR ANYONE WHO OWNS AN MPC

Au instruments are out of tune! Can’t fix!. I just got a new 2018 iPad Pro to start doing mobile production and the Akai LPK wireless keyboard. I’ve tried using numerous midi controllers with this app and all of the au instruments are in the wrong key and between keys! When i use the other apps by themselves they’re perfect! And i can’t use my Akai wirelessly. And can with plenty of other apps. Seems like Akai should take this app more seriously. Too many bugs and missing features. I’ll consider this money wasted. Time to find another app for what i want to do cause this ain’t it! This coming from a person that owns multiple mpc’s!

Update$. So I guess this app is done updating they say contact to inquire about issues then never resolve issues and a producer had warned me that they are only concerned with only selling sound libraries @ this point is very disappointing, this app had promising potential But I guess it’s more about getting our money instead of giving us our moneys worth,I guess it’s to late to request a refund @ this point I’d rather just use GarageBand

well worth the money. so i just purchased impcPro 2 last week for my ipad and i think it’s great except for a few minor things and this could just be me not fully understanding the program yet as i am still figuring things out but the most annoying thing is when i take the time to set up a drum kit on say, track 1. it works great and when i save it and return that drum kit is still there but if i build a drum kit for more than track 1, 2,3,4,5 etc. the kits that i built are never there when i return after a save, i get beats continuum as my default kits and it kills me cause then i have to go build them all over again but like i said except for track 1, it’s always there. am i doing something wrong? is this just not a feature? would be great if it was though and my only other things that would make this absolutely perfect are time stretching and being able to edit and manipulate my tracks right on the track screen. i can’t eliminate or add individual notes at all. again, am i just missing something? when you pair this with garage band , it’s an unfucking stoppable hip hop war machine!

0 starz if I could, This app can’t run 30 minutes without crashing!?!. It’s a bummer that an app attached to such a phenomenal name and that’s so aesthetically pleasing has to be such a worthless waste of space and barely work. I can’t have one session without a crash.. I’ll give up and try a completely new approach, CRASH, new project, CRASH. It wants to work but not that bad. They got all of our money already a few times and wouldn’t be surprised when they rewrite this same app exactly the same and slap a new price tag on the “new” MPCpro 3 app. I’m not falling for it again…

What Happened???. Love the app. Downloaded multiple sound packs and was even able to import other programs via Audio Copy, but for the past few weeks, I cannot ‘tweak’ anything. Every time I try,the app closes down and I lose all unsaved work... everything is updated and I have plenty of space on my HD. Anyone have a clue?

iPad Pro 12” User HAS Immediate Disappointment. Well...let me preface. I have been a long time user of both iMPC and iMPC Pro and have been excited about this upgrade for a while. I bought an iPad Pro 12” to up my game. I almost bought the original MPC cover that was made for the original iPad because I loved this app so much. I am thoroughly enjoying the apps that take advantage of the screen space on the iPad Pro 12”. It actually feels much better making music on the bigger surface. THIS VERSION OF THE APP UNFORTUNATELY DOES NOT. The most glaring problem for me is the size of the pads for iMPC are the same exact pixel space if they were on the smaller iPads with a lot of empty grey space surrounding them. PLEASE TELL ME YOU ARE GOING TO FIX THIS - IF NOT, I want a refund. By the way, the pads on iMPC Pro 1 scale up to the full size of the area. How was this missed on version 2? I love you guys - If this is fixed, I’ll be able to give a proper review and feel like I can use this instrument. I’m really excited about the new features but I don’t want to even attempt playing the pads at that size. I got the iPad Pro for this reason. Heck, iMPC is one of the main reasons I upgraded my iPad. Otherwise, it feels completely unnatural to play in the smaller pads that just float in the middle of the big open grey area., Please fix so I can give you guys the review this app deserves.

Too limited as an independent app - should come as auv3. The app cannot be used to make full productions unless you’re ok with very basic editing and mixing abilities. This app would be much better in Cubasis, and I was using it inter-app, but that no longer works. None of my old projects that had iMPC in Cubasis load iMPC Pro 2 anymore. Please make an auv3 of this so it can be actually used to make music. This version is a toy, basically.

Great tool just missing a critical thing. As a long time iMPC user I love the direction this is going it. But as an owner of the new iPad Pro 2018 I am pretty disappointed that the UI fails to fill the screen. I’m stuck with the old resolution and a smaller drum pad. I urge your team to make this a priority even more so now because the new iPads are powerful enough to run complete music set ups. MPC is a legendary name and I hope they remain on top of their game.

Automation. I would like to Thank the Developers of the iMPC 2 for pointing me in the right direction about the functionality of the Automation in their product. It is so amazing I can’t stop using this app for my production feels like a complete studio in the palm of my hands.

None of the iMPC pro apps have been stable. I’ve been using this app since before they added pro to the name. I was real excited about the update and went and bought a 12.9” iPad to really take advantage of it. I wish I would of saved my money. Since version 1 of iMPC pro this app has rarely been reliable. You just never know what’s going to make it crash! As of this date I still can’t save my chops to the pads. Crashes every single time! And the last update was at least 3 months ago! Theres always something that will crash this app. Mark my words. And now I hear they’re coming out with an iPhone version before making sure the iPad version was straight. This could be a great app but the constant (and I do mean constant) crashing will drive even the most patient person insane. There are too many other music making apps in the store to suffer thru the headaches of this one.

I expected more. After using the app for a few days, I’d say it’s finally moving in the right direction, but still is far from reaching its potential . Why not per pad effects? Track effects? With a name like Akai Professional , the app that’s supposed to be the MPC on an iPad should be a bit further along in development at this stage in the game . Another major concern is that the app doesn’t seem to make use of the iOS files app, or Dropbox . Which would make transferring your sample libraries into this app much less of a pain. I think this app feels rushed. Keep pushing forward and get it right.

Pad Size on 12.9 IPad Pro. I love this software however I am perplexed as to why the size of the pads are so small on the IPad Pro. seems to me that it should up size on the bigger iPad . Its useless unless I can put my fingers on the pads and play them correctly. It is a wonderful beat machine to go on the go producing clicks,Beats,pre-production, however I’m sure bigger pads would yield bigger results

Lacking MIDI sync. Pretty good features, but without MIDI sync it’s pretty much useless to me. I bought it because I assumed there’s no way they leave out basic midi compatibility, but here we are. A shame, as I really like a lot of what it has. The projects feel intuitive, and song mode is basic but looks straightforward. All it needs is to receive MIDI clock and transport messages to be a 5 star. It can already send and receive MIDI signals, why not the clock?

UPDATE. There’s a bug somewhere... While using my Bluetooth headphones & the recently bought USB-C adapter, the sound is terribly distorted with feedback. There’s also a lot of popping noise. I’ve restarted my iPad 11 Pro twice & got the same results. I quick fix would be highly appreciated & it should reasonably be an easy one... Thanx...

The Best Beat Making App. iMPC Pro 2 has the best sound engine on iOS. I have tried all other apps that are comparable such as, BeatMaker 3, FruityLoops, and Maschine. The only app that has a sound engine as great as iMPC Pro 2 is Garbageband. However, Garageband’s work flow doesn’t come close to iMPC Pro for me. I sample and use a lot of outside apps for melodies I play myself. Try it. Load some drum into iMPC Pro 2 and the same drums in any other app. They won’t sound the same compared to iMPC Pro 2. It’s just crispier. It has the MPC punch to it. The only problem I have with it is the time stretching of samples they become glitchy and stutter when you stretch them and play in different pitches. Not cool at all. I still work around it by not stretching my samples. BeatMaker 3 has you guys beat in that category. Fix it. I read a comment about recording full songs vocal-wise? MPCs aren't made for that. It’s not a Daw. When has it ever been? That’s it. Buy it. One more thing. Getting files into the app is a breeze, and that’s thanks to Apple themselves. You can dump all the sounds you want into your app using files in iOS. iMPC Pro 2 has a folder!!!!!

BUY PATTERNING 2 NOT THIS APP. Useful as a toy, just don’t get anywhere near serious when editing or recording anything. Wasted hours loading samples and making kits, just to find out that recording anything basically crashes the app, along w numerous other app breaking bugs. 3rd gen iPad Pro, no more blaming apple, my other apps are fine, this is def the most buggy, unusable paid app ever made. Good thing your hardware engineers are better than your software devs, or you wouldn’t have made it this far. Looks like you took some of my previous advice and gave up on this app, no updates lol, you’re awful. Take the money and run. BUY PATTERNING 2 DONT WASTE YOUR CASH ON THIS GARBAGE.

Sampling is terrible. Seems like right when I’m ready to use my sample it stops working......I record it then try to play it back and nothing....also crashes randomly and I lose work. App would be great if it wasn’t noticeably plagued with bugs. Forgot that I can’t select which track to delete so it always deletes the last one SMMFH

Ripped off. Payed $40 and won’t load saved songs. I want a refund please

Great app - horrible nagware. I love the app but the start up is driving me insane! I would love to do the online course, but can you at least accept my email address? Not only does it not remember that I have supplied said address (after having to add a space at the end), it makes me re-enter it the same buggy every time. And then it keeps taking me back to lesson one

Awesome!. After using iMaschine 2 for some time, really miss those gorgeous colours pads....will have to get used to the dark atmosphere, this app is pretty awesome....love it!

Merrily making beats.. Classic workflow, great community.

Nope. The app crashes when I try to load audio units. Crashes with every audio unit I own. Spent ages setting up samples on the pads and tweaking them. I go to record and there are no samples on any pads. So I load them all again and hit record. They’re all playing now. I listen to my recording and half the pads haven’t been recorded. .

Garbage app. Can’t tune all sample chops at once as well as other things. Workflow is horrible. I like how the automation works with sequences and the ducker but other than that this app is garbage. App needs lazy chop and the ability to tune and do other things like adjust level, attack, release and mute groups to all sample chops within its program all once. And I gotta download some other garbage app to import my own samples??? No thanks I’m getting a refund. Don’t buy this app it’s a waste of time.

🤔Hmmmmmm. Hey guys! How’s it going? I think it’s time to get the MPC software on iOS, these iPads can handle it 💪🏾don’t let some other company do it first Cubasis is the closest thing we have to a desktop DAW and BM3 takes inspiration from you and another company (I won’t say names🤫) in my humble opinion I think we’re just ready for more of a desktop experience😬 thank you for your time✌🏾

Love this program. I’ve made 4 albums worth of material on this program and I don’t see myself stopping any time soon. The more I learn the better it gets. It was down for a month or two but now that it’s been updated I’m very happy to get back to crafting some full fledged songs with this amazing program.

.. Does this app works with internet only? Lots of bugs, crashes........?

Useless and crashes. Attempting to get a real use of this App but I really got frustration seeing how many crashes it has as well as other issues. For instance, when you have a track with some data on it and you want to delete it, if that track is the first one and only one in your song, even when asking if you want to confirm deletion, it doesn’t delete it. If you add a new empty track, then select the first one for deletion, it asks for confirmation for 2 track, instead of the 1 that I selected. Some sounds playback produces unexpected noise or cut. I’m running on IPad Prod 9” 128Gb When attempting to load sounds (by the way so complicated and confused) with AudioPaste, when selecting, yes add all sounds to Library, crashes the App 2/3 times. When you want to save your Program, it doesn’t allow to rename the existing one created. Even worst, if you slide the finger from the right where the Delete button appears to delete the Program, it does nothing. Definitely it looks to me that this App is not fully tested before being published. I’ve invested money not only in this App but also with some SoundPacks and at the end, I’m still not able to use it in a useful manner. A real disaster...and frustration.

Was good.. Akai iMPC Pro (ghost) and iMPC Pro 2 (updates= less functions) used to be a marvel. Now they are becoming like the $2.50 synthstation, that just doesn't have any working order. iMPC is showing a downwards trend. IMPC PRO I/II used to be the best apps, now I'm forced to look elsewhere.

Deserves More Than OneStat BUT. So I had purchased iMPC Pro 1 a few years ago and had recently bought a new iPad. A few months ago you could still download the iMPC 1 app from the App Store but now Akai has removed it meaning I had no choice but to update to iMPC Pro 2. Technically I could have continued to use iMPC Pro 1 as I still have it installed on my iPad but if I had got a new iPad again or decided to reset this one to factory default I would have no way to re-download iMPC Pro 1. Very shady move if you ask me. I was reculatant to get this app but it was the only way I could rate the app and complain about this so yeah to Akai: Stop trying to milk the pockets of small producers that don’t have your real hardware. It makes us not trust you as a company and the young producers are the future of music so you should be impressing us now. Not trying to rip us off and stop offering an App I paid good money for. Also the fact this isn’t a universal app is very dumb as well. I probably won’t download packs but someone said you have to buy those twice too. I should stick to my OP-1 and OP-Z by TE but I love having pads. I also own Akai Midi controllers and this whole removing iMPC Pro 1 makes me not want to buy Akai again. If you re-add iMPC Pro 1 out of principal (what if some poor person had to format their iPad they just get screwed over and then cant but this new version) than I will gladly change my rating to the 5 stars this app deserves. It is great on its own but stop being shady please.

No refund. Just realized I can’t get refunded. Disliking this company more and more

Essential for making tracks. As a long time Retronyms Tabletop and iMPC Pro user I was happy to get onboard. Great workflow. Really appreciate AU instrument plugin support. Truly makes this a full end to end solution for writing songs quickly. Internal FX work well. And of course the chopping to pads is what everyone wants from an MPC. Still haven’t used my MPD 232 controller as I’m just digging cutting tracks. And I must say the folks at Retronyms are very responsive to questions and suggestions. Looking forward to more from this app and potentially Retronyms AU synths? Cheers.

app constantly crashing. i would give it a higher star rating however every time i try to copy multiple sounds into the libray or onto the pad it crashes i'm forced to have to copy 1 sound at a time

BeatMaker. Don’t let them fool you. BeatMaker 3 crashes just as much as anything else. The iMPC pro software is more streamlined and efficient. Though iMPC pro isn’t as feature rich, the UI lets creativity flow. There a lot of quarks in beatmaker3 that makes it take longer from ideal to production.

Integration with MPC Studio Mk2 coming soon?. I just purchased this hoping it would integrate well with the MPC studio. I would be really happy if an update came out that made this controller work with this app better.

Importing Files Nightmare. The fact that you can’t bring in sounds from an external drive is mind blowing. Having to deal with importing sounds in through iTunes is a complete miss. Why wouldn’t this app allow access to your files or an external usb connected to the iPad?

NEW UPDATE CAUSED PROBLEMS. I updated to the latest version. A loud reverb is playing over whole program although no reverb is selected. It does it over EVERY PROGRAM!!!!

Love this app. I love iMPC Pro 2. Used Pro for a few years and love that I can now record directly in Pro 2. I don’t have to leave the app now to finish my track. Cheers Retronyms and Akai... looking forward to what’s next!

For me it’s a Love thing. Fun, fluid, deep. Responsive support. Great sounds. Pro results.

Crashing. I have been using the app for some time but have not used in the past few months. Now that I'm back on it it continues to crash and not importing from Audio Copy. This is happening while using on a 4th gen iPad Pro. Please debug or update.

Glitches and crashes often. Your app earlier didnt show measures in the song parameter. I freaked out. Sorry for the previous review. It is working now. Still wish i could access impc pro.

App Freezes. Whenever I try to load a sample, the app crashes. Sampling is the most BASIC function of the MPC. This should not be an issue!

Don’t buy the app. Dear customer service rep that monitors the App Store, it’s been three days since I sent a support email to Facebook and to the support on the web and guess what? Noresponse Fb/jjerneenyc

Nice job. Very nice compared to the other ones

Fun But Tough for Me. I really use this app often but find it unintuitive. It’s probably just me. I’ll keep plugging away at this one. Craig Steven SunSlice Records

Hey, listen…. After you take peoples money, please keep updating your app and not let it die. There’s a new iOS, and even before that it was full of bugs. I’ll never buy any more equipment from your company.

Thumbs down. You can’t import your own files directly from file manager. Doing simple tasks take too long. Overall takes too long to make a beat. Not user friendly at all.

Amazing, but crashes. This app is incredible. But it crashes at bad times.

Bad UI lag. Can’t really recommend an app with such unresponsive UI for making music. You tap a few drum beats and then the UI locks up for two seconds before it registers touches again.

This is such a RIPOFF. I buy this app for $25, only to find out its $8.99 once it has you download AUDIOCOPY. I WANT A REFUND! The free sound packs, how do you get them? I’m being sent through this endless loop in trying to get this. Not a happy camper.

So far NO GOOD!. Just purchased and it crashes immediately! I’ve reloaded and rebooted several times with no luck. Using 6th Gen iPad running latest iOS. Oddly enough the iPhone version works on my iPad but the actual iPad version will not.

Not compatible with OS 14.1. I just updated my iPad and the iMPC app crashes when try to use an audio unit. Once they fixed that problem they deserve an extra star for this app!

Great but.... I love using this app, but it crashes all the time. In an hour it crashed over 8 times.

Audio paste Bug. When trying to upload/audiopaste “The Diploma” free soundpack from MPC University app closes and doesn’t add soundpack folder. I have tried opening a new session, closing and reopening app as well as restarting iPad. It still will not load.

IMPC pro2 crashing due to iOS 14. Hi guys I just want to let you know that I’m having some issues with IMPC pro 2 because of iOS 14 the app keep on crashin every time I try to open it and can purchase your sound from your store please let apple know about this issue this is a big bug fixe.

Love your software.. Love the features.. but please change the way files are saved.. it’s cumbersome at best.. please update that.. thanks. Love your software. File saving needs updating.

Gimmicky. If y'all would just make flux link track compliant and had flux link render to audio I would give a better rating... who wants to chop their whole track? Chop the bassline though? Yea definitely. Work on functionality

Wack. Had big hopes for this app after the disappointment from the first iMPC pro version. This app is unfinished has no quantize or swing. If it does it’s hidden some where. Still a pain to get samples into as well. Should be Able to let you import folders to be more organized like BM3

IMPC pro 2. This will be the last akai product I ever buy, I have purchased hardware Mpc studio,500 and 1000 from akai and those products were garbage. software is always a nightmare with akai and this app is no different,it constantly crashing I have had to reinstall 3 times on brand new iPad Air and have only had this app for 2 days

Best app. I love this app I make better beats here than on my mpc x

I ALWAYS LOVE THIS BUT ?. On your next update please give access to Dropbox, iCloud…etc

I Really wanted to love this app but.... Talk about one disappointment after another, after another, after another. I feel a victim of their marketing. App is a piece of trash that has not matured at very basic levels. Don’t buy it, get yourself a nice dinner instead...

Nice App..... The guys at retronyms have done a nice job of creating IMPC Pro 2. The one feature that sets this app above others is the University Learning. This feature walks you through step by step on creating a beat from start t0 finish.

Ike it but. Needs to sync better with garage band it starts to early or garage band starts to late need to have a playback delay control

Awesome. Love it. Few small issues but. Awesome. My only issue one of my kits didn’t show up from audio copy. Audio units awesome. Layout. Awesome. Great job. I think the colors are hard to see being grey. But again. Awesome

Auv3 Synths still crash. I love the workflow and IMpc Pro 2 would be my go to app for music production BUT... when using Auv3 synths, the app crashes. Has been doing this ever since I purchased this app when it first came out. I am on an Ipad pro too!! I wish i could use this app more but unfortunately can’t.

AudioCopy problems. Is there any way you guys can stop using audio copy and just have a purchase section within i MPC pro 2? It’s outdated and, to me, in the way.

Pure Greatness. Get this app people, it’s worth it!! Take your music and beat making to another level!! Retronyms & AKAI are going to another dimension .. . 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼❤️❤️❤️

Question. Are the sample packs they sell royalty free , can I use them in my music without being sued?

This is awesome!. I just uploaded the app and already made a beat after 20 min of learning the pads 😁😎✌🏽🤩😈

My first iMPC. I've used the hardware but am new to the iPad version. Working my way through the tutorials (iMPC University) and checking out sound packs. It's amazing what this app can do. Finished songs have a very well-produced sound.

Dope AF..... This app is compatible with GarageBand and has been the best app I’ve found to expand on your sound banks. I’m always discover new things and with my iPad Pro it’s just ridiculously easy to make dope beats...

Update. When are we getting a new update? Would love to keep working on the iPad then transfer the files over to the MPC X, Live II, or the new MPC Key 37 (would love to have one). Keep up the good work!!!

Wonderful evolution. I really enjoy the evolution of this classic in mobile form. Great new features and app integration. Well worth 2.0 status!

IMPC PRO 2. This software is fantastic. The more I learn about what it can do,the more I am delighted and amazed. It is a thing of wonder. A sampling bonanza and much more.

Tiny pads on the 12.9. Dope app.... but as others stated the pads are wack on the 12.9.... I can’t wait for Akai to update this, hell even hot fix this pad size and it’ll be 5 stars.

Literally doesn’t work. I’ve decided to give this app another shot after getting bored with some other DAWs, but you literally cannot load any AU plugins at all. I would specify, but of the extensive list of synths and such that I have; not a single one works.

Crash after update. Crash after IOS 12 update. Runs on ipad air2 Everything was fine now it is a nightmare. Is this i common problem?

So much is missing. Have your development team spend some money on the program beat maker three learned understand it except it. If your file system is it good your entire machine is bad you just didn’t take your time you rush this go back start over redo it rethink it.

Buggy. It has a bug in the Pads. Every time you get a pad it double plays but only when recording and it is very Irritating please look into this.

My review. This software is great. The future is now!

Disappointed. Too many crashes....I tried to reach out to the developers but they did not respond. I hope your experience with this app is better. I have a iPad Pro 2017 with the most current os.

This is not it. Too many glitches! tech-support is not great! They sent me a beta test version I used it Follow the steps had the same problems and got no further response from the tech-support team… Either get a better system or stick to hardware please… This is steps away from rip off
