LibreLinkUp Comments & Reviews 2026
Decent for what it does. Basically a snapshot view of your last 12 hours of Libra data. Ok. Wouldn’t mind being able to manipulate the view a bit more, export &etc since it looks like Abbott will never update their garbage app. Would like a tablet version since the phone render on a 11” tablet is horrible to say the least. And please, what you have now would be a perfect apple watch applet/Home Screen. I’d pay cash and give 127 stars rating for that.
Great App, Nearly Perfect. LibreLinkUp is a great app. I appreciate and respect the developers. My beloved father has a good saying: Something good can always be made better. I'd like to suggst an improvement. I wish I could set different tones/alarms for various alerts. Currently a general reading or a critical low glucose have the same alert tone. Also, it is the same alert tone that many other online apps use (like email, travel, IM, etc.) One of the main reasons I wish for different alert tones/beeps is that my ability to hear high-pitched tones is declining (normal for people my age). I am using LibreLinkUp to help my elderly father with "hypo events" which typically occur at night. So anything to make the alerts different and better will be very welcomed. Again, great app that is doing a great job overall.
Almost great. It would be nice if it had the option to have the reading displayed on the home or lock Screen so you can check without having to go all the way to the app.
Want Data Upload to Cloud Desktop Spreadsheet. I have the Abbot Freestyle Libre 14 day CGM system and generally love it. I use both the handheld meter and or cell phone yellow Libre app to capture and display data and analytics from the arm patch stick-on device. I want the ability to pull ALL time stamped glucose data from the system and place it in tab delimited form into my desktop computer for my own viewing and analysis. ALL data both the minute by minute data held by the patch and the user initiated recordings. .... Does the doctor system do this? Can I get it from my consumer system? Does the “family” app somehow allow this? The data is there and it moves around through your proprietary software and networking. Can the consumer get it? The current system does not allow me to show my endocrinologist specific events over the past several months. I want the full raw data.
Needs improvements. I had the original 14 day reader and monitor from 5 years ago and I lost the reader. I tried to get it replaced but they don’t make it anymore. I ended up replacing it with the Freestyle Libre 2. Not happy with it at all. I used to be able to check my sugars with either the reader or my phone. Now it’s one or the other. I tracked everything on my phone but kept my reader with me for quick checks or at work where I’m not allowed to have my phone with me. Plus if I pass out, someone could check my sugar with my reader because my phone would be locked. Not a good feature of this reader. I’d prefer it to go back to the way it was. I can’t even write a complaint with the company because there’s no website for that, only a phone number where I’d have to try to explain to someone in India what my issues are. Very frustrating. Why do they think “improving “ the reader makes it better. It doesn’t. Also, I’ve kept my older sensors and use them both, one with the new reader and the other with my phone. The FS2 reads consistently 30 points higher than my old sensors. When I have lows, the alarm doesn’t sound because it doesn’t read it as a low. Whereas my older sensor shows the low when I check it. No alarm on the original sensor. I just have to go by the way I feel.
Ease and data accuracy. I help my grandmother who has diabetes and other chronic diseases. This app makes it sooo easy to read the daily trends, enter information, and view information. Highly recommend. My granny and my decisions on her health and diabetes blood glucose issues has drastically improved due to viewing accurate data through the device’s app. Data and evidence proves it all.
Love App Needs Improvement. I really love the Libre View app it has kept me updated on my husband’s sugar levels, even when we are not together. It’s nice because he doesn’t feel his sugar changes as he did when we were younger. It has made it so I can go to sleep at night knowing the alarms will wake me if his sugar levels drop or shoots up. Believe me, it has saved his life multiple times over the past 2-3yrs. I wish there was more information from LibreView. Remember there are a lot of spouses using this program. The Libre 2 sensors & software should be able to keep a more update in reading without having to swipe your phone several times before it reads. It needs to relay information each time, not merely a few. Trust me, the program, and the sensors, have become lifesavers. It has taken me years of hounding our doctors as well as my husband to get the Freestyle Libre System. My husband hates picking his fingers. It got so bad for a time that he’d tell me he had done the finger stick when he hadn’t. It hurt that much. He is a type 1 diabetic who was diagnosed at 3-4yrs old. He is nearly 60yrs old. Treating type 1 diabetes has changed for the better over his lifetime allowing him to live longer than he ever imagined. It’s allowed us more than thirty years together. Thank you.
Libre3 is the best CGM on the market. The flow app is consistent and dependable. The only improvement I would ask for is to be able to see when the sensor is ending too. I know the primary can see it but as a caregiver it is a feature we could greatly benefit from.
Report card!. I am just learning about freestyle libre two. I enjoy that I can actually know how much my glucose it is at the time that I eat.I am still learning about the product. It seems like I always have to have my phone around me. That’s a bit different.
Extremely unreliable. Pro: the ability to remotely monitor my wife’s levels is great. Cons: frequently does not alert on a timely manner. Seems like every time there is an iOS update it gets worse. Now that watchOS is 10.5, alerts are 100 percent unreliable. Developers: please work on keeping these apps updated. They can be the difference between life and death. In this day and age there is no acceptable reason to not maintain compatibility with current operating systems across all platforms, and confirm compatibility within a very short time with a new software update. Hint: iOS 18 is not far away. Start working on it now.
Limited data. I’m monitoring my brother’s sugars from my home using this app, but agree with other commenters that having just the last 12 hours of readings far less than optimal. I should be able to see all the reports that are available on his phone. I have to drive to his house regularly to assure that I didn’t miss anything because being tethered to “watching” this app every 12 hours is a ridiculous expectation. And when I talk to his doctor about his readings, I’d have to document them on my own from the app, or REMEMBER what I saw for the last 4 weeks, 12 hours at a time. Why can’t he “give” me access to ALL the history and not just 12 hours? I did the give access process on his phone and there was no option for ‘all’.
Worst app EVER!. My 16yr old son has the Libre 3 sensor. I downloaded this app to follow his readings. THIS APP DOES NOT WORK! I’ve had it for about 8 days now and it’s only worked 3 days (with no issues) out of 8! I’m constantly worried about him thinking something is wrong with his sensor when all the while it’s this god awful app not recording his readings! I’ve deleted and reinstalled it about 12 times just to get it to work for a few hours at a time. Please get this app working properly! Sincerely, A CONCERNED PARENT
Great tool. It has been a fantastic tool for my husband. He has been type 2, insulin user for many years. This new tool shows him so much more information between his meals & he can see what goes on AFTER he eats. His # have never been as in control as they are with the Libra 3. He used to take about 24+ units of novalog a day, he now is only taking around 2-4 units a day😃
Very Useful, but Bare Bones. This app actually gives me better visibility of my CGM data than the reader app. However, it falls short in allowing access to to data beyond a 12 hour window. There should be a mechanism for storing historical data, but there isn’t. Once past that 12 hour window, the older data is no longer retrievable. This data should also be made available to third-party apps for further analysis, but it isn’t. I’ve noticed a trend in medical device software to lock down access to data. It’s as if the doctors and the medical device manufacturers have colluded to prevent patients from having unlimited access to their own biometric data. I suspect that this will continue until laws are passed to allow patients to have unrestricted access to their own data.
Prioritize your app!. Abbott certainly has enough funds to do better at updates and customer service. Yesterday we received an email that the app was updated and would need to be updated on our phones before June 21. But there is no new version yet posted. The CGM app on my son’s phone was updated last night and now the LibreLinkUp app either won’t work or is lagging behind by 30 minutes. Last night alarms didn’t work at all and the only reason I caught my son at 53 was because I set an alarm for 1am. Abbott needs to improve greatly here. The CGM is great but the LibreLinkUp app and their customer service is woefully inadequate.
Customer service made things worse. Do not tell me to contact customer service. I did. They told me to delete and reinstall the app. I lost this entire year of my diabetes and stored health information. Why did he not tell me everything would be permanently lost? Also, it was no help. Just more destructive. They had me call other departments and then hung up before anyone answered. I have spent the past 12 hours straight trying to fix this. I had an extremely hard time understanding what the call center was saying. Sadly, the accents were so thick they were actually unintelligible to an old midwestern girl like me. I tried really hard to work with them and I was polite. I had to ask them to repeat things multiple times and felt awful about it. I feel bad for the call center staff too. They don’t need people telling them they can’t understand them all day. It’s sad. They really didn’t know what they were doing. It wasn’t their fault. Just trying to stick to an “if this then say this” call sheet. Their answers and questions didn’t make sense in relation to my issues. Some diabetic is going to die or have catastrophic consequences. This is shameful. It was great when it worked. It only works about 50% or 60% of the time. The remainder is dangerous. I’m constantly crashing but not really. I have hardly slept in two days. Neither has my poor husband. Constantly pricking my finger and wishing things would go back to normal.
Works for the most part. This app works only half the time, and it often says there's no recent data for hours on end, but my mom's app works just fine (she is who is wearing the sensor). It's frustrating when I'm not able to see her readings. Please fix this issue as it could be a life or death situation. *Instead of just directing everyone to call customer support, please just fix the issue. **Currently it has been 12 hours of no recent data, through this app. Honestly, that's not acceptable. Not sure how this app has the rating that it does. More often than not, the app fails to show the data it should be showing. How am I supposed to keep an eye on my loved one's readings, if the app doesn't work half the time??? *Please fix this issue as I am clearly not the only that this happens to! And customer support is of no help.
Yup. It works. But that’s all.. This app will display data from my Libre 3 on my wife’s phone, but only current values. That’s fine for us, but what about parents monitoring their children? The app should be able to display all the charts that the Libre 3 app does. Not being able to see out of range periods, amount of time in range and other metrics seriously hobbles this app’s usefulness. If all you care about is your kid’s glucose state at this moment, sure. But I would think having more tools available would be a necessity.
I like it but…. I just wish there was a widget option to be able to see this information on Lock Screen at all times. It should be a easy addition to the app too.
Not enough info. Unable to be a support person with such limited information. 1--only able to see 12 hours of numbers 2--can't see any insulin logs the patient has entered 3--no trending information available to the supporter past the 12 hours, must use the patients phone 4--unable to see any trending information to support the diabetic patient 5--no average A1C to go by as the support person and afterall this is the all mighty number Husbands loves the size verses dexcom g6 but that's where the liking stops. Stuck with this due to insurance. Web developers---PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help the support person be an actual supporter!!!! This was like driving a school bus after having a Cadillac, disappointing in so many ways.
Would be great…if it worked. This was wonderful when it was working. I was able to check on my mother’s glucose levels and make sure she was ok. The problem was that the units malfunctioned so often that we constantly had to replace them. She would often have to pay out of pocket as insurance will not cover a defective unit. You can call up Libre and they will send you one (which I had to do multiple times) but they failed so often and so quickly that they didn’t arrive fast enough. I just got tired of having to take the time to call to beg them for another unit because their product failed after 2 days. I finally contacted her doctor and she recommended that she switch to Dexcom.
Invaluable. My husband has lowered his A1C dramatically. We always, always know where he stands. He was having many more fluctuations than any of us realized. We’ve been awakened twice in the middle of the night by dangerous lows and can help him better manage highs. This is a must-have.
Fix the issues. In the beginning this app was good. However, more recently I haven’t been able to see my spouses updated blood sugars. It has been very delayed like up to an hour at times. I have tried deleting and reinstalling the app and it hasn’t done anything. It has a very bad lag. There is no update for it at all. Wish they would put out an update for it to fix the issues.
Need historical data. As a parent, I would like to have the ability to look over the last few days or even do graphs over weeks to be able to watch trends. This app gives 9-12 hours at the most. We can learn how food and exercise affects blood sugar if we can look at the trends.
Snooze feature for lows. Dear Libre, You should be well aware of how diabetes works. Your blood sugar doe’s not instantly raise with a low. Please enable a snooze feature stating you took juice or glucose. Something. Please. There is no need for 1 minute alerts. Also, please allow us to change the alert volume level. It should not be on MAXIMUM only. Listen to your reviewers. You are making it to where patients don’t take it seriously. They get burned out.
App needs more data. First, my wife is a relatively new user of the Freestyle Libre3., and I’ve been using this app to follow her readings. For that, it works well. But I understand there are multiple reports available in the main (user’s) app that are not available to me in the Linkup app. This addition would bring the companion app to parity with the Libre3 app, and make it vastly more useful.
Terrible terrible terrible. I have a PhD in computer science, and I’m telling you this is the worst program I’ve seen. My father in law uses it, and it rarely works. He is not able to self manage, and my mother in law needs to receive alarms, but it just randomly stops working. I’m worried this program will lead to his death. The call support is terrible. We call in and no one has a clue. They just have us reinstall, and after 2 hours of babbling, they randomly drop the call. I’m totally prepared to be an expert witness in the trail against this company if my father in law dies due to the incompetence of this program and the company behind it.
Finally I can truly help remotely. I’ve been trying to help my mother manage her blood sugar. I feel like I am constantly calling her and asking her what her sugar is at. This connection will make it so much easier to assist her in managing this important health issue.
Ok. I really wish that I was able to go into log book and see if they’ve added any notes or food/exercise. My son likes to add his manual glucose reading as a note as Libre won’t let you calibrate. We’ve noticed libre is consistently 20-40 mg/dL lower than his actual reading and it’s good to know he’s not actually low when his Libre reading is low.
DANGEROUS LIABILITY!!! Read this. My friend’s blood sugar goes into the 40’s after getting COVID. There have been some case studies on it, Google “COVID 19 and low-glucose levels: Is there a link?” So, his Dr. prescribed him a CGM. Anywho, it is imperative for his life that a buddy helps monitor his blood sugar because he could go into a coma and die. He’s gone low in the middle of the night several times and I’ve had to call him to get up and chug a soda. Scary stuff. Well, the app keeps randomly logging me out and doesn’t notify me that I’ve been logged out. He’ll go low and I have no idea. I called customer support and they kept trying to blame everything but the app because “it’s not supposed to do that.” They blamed my iOS, my phone, the update, everything but the app developer. Also they told me their “higher department” can’t email me and will call me tomorrow at a random time from a random number and that’s the only way to follow up. I work and can’t just answer whenever they call. How awful is that customer support! I deleted and re-downloaded the app, noticed the 2.9 star rating, and started reading reviews. THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE FOR AT LEAST AN ENTIRE YEAR!! Reviews from a year ago, Feb 9th, and July 21st all say the same thing trying to warn about this dangerous glitch! THIS APP IS GOING TO KILL SOMEONE IF IT ALREADY HASN’T and the company has been absolutely negligent to not heed the warnings. BEWARE.
It’s nice to have but…. My teen has the libre freestyle 2. The CGM is a wonderful thing to have and definitely gives some peace of mind, if I have the app open and constantly check it. The app only notifies me about 1/3 of the time. It’s also measuring off for us enough times that it gives me concern (20+ points). My kid is a heavy sleeper so having us hear the alarm is supposed to help. I’ve found myself waking 3 times a night to check out of fear that the app isn’t working. We had a dexcom that unfortunately our insurance didn’t want to cover. The app was more user friendly and never failed on alerts. I’m appealing to go back to that. It’s become too scary of a risk that we’ll miss a low in the middle of the night.
Frustrated spouse. Peoples lives depend on this product to be reliable. At some point, someone is going to die because their loved one does not receive a notification of their urgent low glucose (if it hasn’t already happened). I am an advanced iPhone user and have verified all of my settings. The issue is the app. The condescending canned response to contact Customer Support is not acceptable. The app needs to be fixed. Please!
Totally Enjoying my new walk!. I used the dexcon for a year. I recently switched to the new Libre 3 and I’m truly enjoying and totally loving this new walk with my Libre3 . It’s totally smaller and easier to manage and wear. Thank you! Abbot for your creation…
Not helpful.. The last couple of days this app has not worked. Saw an update for it on the App Store for just an hour ago and it is still not working. I use this to help track my husbands sugars. It says there is no connection. His app is working fine. We are on the same network for wifi. This app really need a lot of work for caregivers to be able to use it effectively. He has shut down his app and restarted. I have closed my app and restarted and it still his not giving me data in the LibreLinkUp app. Very disappointed.
Useless for reading meter.... This app only allows you to share info from your meter to others. You still need your own meter. You can not use this software to read your own meter. My meter got damaged and it will take a week to get a replacement. Now I have a sensor running that I can’t read, and a useless app that will only do what I don’t need it to do. The app developers will leave an apology and ask you to call customer support! I need to read my sensor NOW!
LibreLink is not reliable. My husband wears a FreeStyle Libre 3 sensor. I have the LibreLink app to help him monitor his glucose level, especially in the middle of the night. My app has been offline more than it has worked for weeks. Even after the new version was released in June 2023. My husband often sleeps through alarms at night, so it is critical that I have access to his glucose levels to keep him from going to a critical low. I have talked to Customer Service multiple times, and they just gather personal info from me and ask about which phone I use. They have been no help whatsoever. This is unacceptable, and I do not understand how the company allows this to happen for users of their sensors who have critical life-threatening health issues.
Doesn’t Work. I see why this has such a low overall rating and p, for an app that doesn’t work, the rating should be lower. Although I gave it one star it’s really zero stars. Tried to create an account and got “access denied error.” It’s a shame this app is so bad because if it worked it would certainly benefit people with diabetes and their loved ones. Please do not reply to this review with “contact blah blah at this number” as I’ve seen in reply to so many other reviews, just make a better app.
Needs tweaking. It’s a good app and device. One thing that bothers me is that you cannot control the alert to be silent when your too high or low. I want vibrate only since I work and it’s a real inconvenience when it goes off and embarrasses me. I understand that it’s essential but it’s not that accurate either to be truthful and for it to go off to also wake everyone in house is annoying. I would like more control over alerts.
Account help for Libre 2 user and caregiver using LibreLinkup app. Customer support person was able to help me get an account and Libre 2 app on my wife’s iPhone (the patient) sorted out so her connection to me for LibreLinkUp data worked. Many thanks.
Unreliable. It worked for a while with my husband libre. Then just stopped notifying me altogether. My husband blood sugar dropped to a dangerous low to which he had entered into a coma. Emergency services were able to help. We where relieved to get the libre 3 which would alarm me before this could happen again. This only worked for maybe a month and the alarm stopped working. I will get a notification but no alarm. How on earth is this supposed to wake me! So again I’m going to go back to consistent half sleep listening to his breathing. No settings have bee changed and critical alert is set so please do not ask me to call. Honestly what is that going to do? Just please fix it! Note: I have deleted it and am getting ready to try again. So hopefully the “ have you turned it off and on again” cliche works.
This app keeps waking me up…. I use this app to keep track of my mothers glucose levels. She sleeps deeply so her iwatch isn’t able to wake her if she gets a low during the night. Usually my iwatch only alerts when she has a low but from time to time this app decides to alert me EVERY time she checks her sugar. This makes for some VERY sleepless nights. Please fix this glitch. Signed, A VERY sleep deprived daughter
Great idea, confusing execution. I have this app for two reasons: so that I am able to review my historical data, and to receive my Libre 3’s current readings on my Apple Watch. The app works when I’m looking at it for current readings, however if I look back through my data it shows much lower values than I actually received. For example: today at 5:14PM I received a high glucose alarm from both this app and the regular Libre 3 app, when my level went to 181. At 9:50PM when I slide the bar over the graph line to view my data from earlier it only shows a high of 170 instead of the actual high of 181. I’m at a loss as to why it does this as it’s clearly getting the correct information at the time of the events. This happens all the time. So, it’s great if you simply want to see what your level is on your Apple Watch without having to open the Libre 3 app, or if you want to see what your level is in the present, but it is not accurate for viewing historical readings.
Additional Functions Needed. I have all notifications turned on but yet there is no option to get an alert if blood sugars drop too low. Also, the ability to see in this app what notes are being entered for dosing and food in the patient app would be extremely beneficial when trying to monitor carb intake and insulin dosing for meals and at bed.
Inconsistent readings and timestamps. Pro: This glucose monitoring sensor has been a game changer for my grandma. It conveniently sends readings to me and other family members, notifying us immediately when her glucose levels are too high or low. Con: When my grandma scans her glucose levels, the numbers and timestamps do not match what is displayed on the graph. Additionally, the readings in the logbook are inconsistent with both the scores and times shown on the graph.
Losing signal. My husband had his 1st sensor placed 19 days ago when I started to have problems. For the last three days I have times where it says I have lost signal and yet I am right next to him and his app is reading fine. Now day 12 and I am getting a message saying “an error has occurred please try again later.” He is sleeping right next to me and my phone is right here next to us. His app is reading fine. This is concerning given he is a reactive hypoglycemic and has slept right through the critic low alarms. My app is what has woken me up during these time. I have tried turning my phone off and on as well as deleting and reinstalling the app with no success.
Needs to be more useful. There are a couple of features that would make this app much more useful. - It should be expected that the user of the patch may not be tech savvy or diligent. I or a caretaker should be able to log in the food, exercise, insulin amount and anything in notes. This is very useful for children who may get the information verbally from parents and can log this info for the parents so healthcare can get this information. - I should also be able to get a sound alert when the glucose levels are too low or too high. This would allow another person to take action when this happens.
Libre 3. At least 3 times a day it tells me the reading is unavailable I have to check again in 10 minutes. Please fix this problem as a type 1 diabetic it’s crucial information I need to know at all times
Data delayed, graphs averaged and softened, no reporting over time just a rough 12 graph.. You provide the physician with link view graphing, and the primary Libre3 app with detail and ability to annotate. The linked up graphs are so softened that today my graph showed a high of about 240 but hers said 360! Come on!!! As the caretaker for a cancer patient i NEED the detail, it exist on your cloud, if the patient grants access you have met HIPPA standards (if your app is truly secure). Expand the data for caretakers, it is required for patient care. This is enough for us to move to Dexcom where we do have the access we need.
Terrible app. This application is terrible. It has poor user experience and it does not work correctly. When I signed up, it kept asking me to verify my email, so I sent the link to my inbox. When I clicked on the link in my inbox, it went to open up a browser, and the link in the browser was broken. There was no way that I could use the actual app to verify my email. This app is taking up bandwidth on the App Store and should be deleted. The developers obviously have no idea what they are doing and they are putting people in danger, because there are people who need to have love ones monitor their sugar for them because they can’t do it themselves.
App is becoming less useful. The app started off great, but that has changed over the last few months. The most recent upgrade rendered the app completely useless by knocking out the login information and upon a new login attempt the app continuously asks for you to accept the link up request from the sensor user in an unending circle. I now cannot see any of my mother’s blood sugar information. This was after the prior update removed the alert and notification capabilities that helped me know when my mother’s blood sugar was getting too high. It seems that every update makes the app less useful rather than more useful. Very disappointed!

Disappointing. I support my Type 1 husband and am disappointed in the information provided by the app. I am the one cooking etc but the app doesn’t tell me when he had his last bolus or how much. That means I have to ask him which defeats the purpose of me having the app and it makes me feel like I’m always invading his privacy. I can’t respond appropriately to his trends. Also the graph does not stay up to date and I have to continually check the log.
Not working. Downloaded today Not working at all Says error occurred Unable to be used
Poor provider communication. Updates without prior notice. Elderly relative using sensor, has no technology skills. Family supporting her are racing around to help the sensor and app work. No prior notice provided by provider to help better preparation/smooth transition to new features or updates. Now the sensor keeps dropping out of service leaving elderly relative at risk of poor sugar level management outcomes. This is causing all great distress and worry.
gunzal. new log graph is a good view of last 12hours could be good to view back for for say a week. The log book seems to just log random settings could do highs lows peaks and last checked points. greg.
Excellent product. I have recently downloaded this app to assist my mum in managing diabetes. Mum texted her results daily to me. Usage of the app allows to receive notifications of her results automatically. We found this is very helpful. I would prefer also to have ability to add my own comments, and maybe generate weekly reports for our own comparisons., this would be even more beneficial. This is great app and there is always room for improvement . Thank you.
Great idea, needs input from carers to be better. This app is a great idea, the things it does, it does very well. Along the old lines of “never about me without me” the devs really need to ask the support people what features they desperately need and work forwards from there. The alert system is a great idea but with no way to choose an alarm, there’s no way to alert someone who isn’t attached to their phone all the time. For me; the lights and sirens would make it 1) so I can be woken up if a low or high is detected 2) so I can be alerted while I’m at work and run out or call to check in. The tracking system is great but the graph lags behind the logbook, sometimes I take a glance and move on, I don’t think to deep dive the info every time. There are 3rd party systems that integrate the app so you can get a watch alert (something most disabled people are using because of the fall detection) they also run the most recent stats as a widget on phone and watch. These are small additions that would be game changing to the people who care for diabetics, non invasive to the client but vital to the carer for quick reaction. This is life saving technology and I would really like to see the official developers put more into it than random people who need it to do more so they make their own system. Keep working on it, please do more, please ask your target audience what they need. Thank you.
Just stopped working?. One day it stopped getting updates from my son’s sensor. Signed out and in again, re did the invitation, nothing. Troubleshooting guides are a not great either
Libre 2 Review. Before the new control app was installed, my wife, for whom I’m carer, felt the Libre2 was a godsend. She was diagnosed Type 1 diabetic when she was 17 to & is now 63. The relief from manual testing was immeasurable. However, this new device we have just begun using is frustratingly annoying. There is always some alarm going off. I don’t mean hi/Lo BGL as that is essential but eg. if Helen puts her phone down on the lounge on the side opposite to her sensor the loss of signal alarm sounds. If she goes to the toilet/kitchen etc & leaves her phone in the lounge the alarm sounds but many times she has the phone adjacent to the sensor & loss of signal alarm sounds. With my phone, we can be side by side & I get an alarm as it hasn’t received data from Helen’s phone for more than 30 minutes. To be honest, we wish we could revert to the old system. It was a much less frenetic experience. Regards, Gary & Helen Huxham
make it more difficult to sign up please. This is like signing up for a secret society. I’ve never gone through soo many hoops just to create an account and track my partners diabetes. Good luck meeting the password complexity too. What else data do you want? My drivers license? Unnecessary and annoying.
Alarms don’t work. I have this set up with my daughters sensor and the alarms continually do not work. Despite updating app and having blue tooth on etc Still doesn’t work. You need to fix this because my daughters sugars go to 2 and alarm doesn’t work for her app or this link up one.
Notifications stopped working. Latest update I no longer receive automatic notifications when scanned. Neither on my wife’s iP12.
Feature request. I think it would be really helpful as a carer if someone with diabetes that their logbook entries such as a connection with a smart insulin pen etc. could also show up on the LibreLinkUp app so I can more easily see her insulin details etc. without having to go on her phone on her LibreLink app
Amazing. This app is fantastic - I use it in combination with the Libre Link so that I can get notification and two different high and low bgl levels and it also allows me to get my readings on my apple watch.
Awesome app but needs extras. I think the person with diabetes should also be able to share their food intake and when they give themself insulin and how much. My husband has to screenshot and send me how much insulin he gives so I’m aware. That would help me track and learn how his body reacts to insulin.
Losing connectivity. Not sure whether others experience this but I will lose connectivity for a few days - this is frustrating as I need to monitor my husband’s glucose as he has memory issues and I’m still working.
Consolidating all health data. I’ve found the app fairly good and intuitive. However I am having trouble linking my data to apple health where I consolidate all health data (including data not diabetes related). I cannot find any help on this from within the app. External suggestions require paid subscription to third party apps with no clarity of automated data flow.
Useful app - thanks!. I use LibreLink to send my BG data to my Garmin watch. It works reliably. This helps me manage my glucose levels when I’m in the middle of a long workout or hike.
Needs a widget. We are happy with the new update but it needs a widget. So you can glance at the Lock Screen on your phone or watch and see the levels of the person you’re caring for.
LibreLinkUp not retaining info after iOS upgrade 15.6. I manually backed up my phone to the cloud before upgrading my iPhone software to 15.6 and now I’ve lost all my history. The app has been glitching and going off line for a few hours every few days which is why I did the upgrade in an effort to troubleshoot. Please LibreLinkUp make sure to fix the apps compatibility with apples most up to date ios.
Alarm needs improving.. I set my daughters readings to 4.2 for when her sugars are low which is great, but if she can’t get her sugars up fast enough, the alarm doesn’t stop and is triggering to her. I’d like the alarm to go off every 5 minutes, giving us enough time to deal with the hypo. I’d also like there to be able to tick a box indicating that I’ve heard the alarm and am working on the hypo. If I miss the alarm, it should activate again 5 minutes later. I’d also like the option of being able to choose my own alarm sound. I want one for low blood sugar and one for high blood sugar, that way I can tell what’s happening without going to my phone. Otherwise it’s been a great help catching the hypo’s before they occur.
Almost useless. This app is almost useless. Don’t be fooled by the marketing that tells you that you will be kept up to date. All it does is give you the current reading given by Freestyle LibreLinkUp-au. What I want is the history of the sensor so I can see my daughters trends and movements over the past 8 hours. I also want to be able to see the comments she has added in LibreLinkUp about how much insulin she had and meals etc. to get this information I now have to go on line to Libreview.
Apple Watch. If possible, will there or can you make an Apple Watch app of this. It will help a lot

20 min gap time!. I cannot understand why there is a 20 minute gap time between the current reading and the second last current reading. The lone is filled in but don’t be fooled, there is a 20 min gap there if you look at the time. This would inconsequential if I didn’t use the Linkup to feed my Sweet Dreams app. So basically, missing 3 readings in my trend line for no good reason.
Non stop alarms. Ever since the update I am getting alarms NON STOP! Any time my husbands sugar levels get high I get an alarm, but then it continues non stop any time his levels move, whether up or down. It’s to the point I have to keep my sound off on my phone all day because I can’t handle the alarms. BUT, the alarms don’t go off on his phone, only mine. And I don’t always get notified of his low sugars, nor does he. He was in the low 3’s all night and we didn’t get a single alarm for it! FIX your app please!!!
New Version. Most if not all users of this app have received a notification sharing of readings will not work on the current version and you must upgrade to the newest version. This great but there is no new version to upgrade to. So we lose the ability to receive readings for those that we care for with no timeline for the new app version?
Ok, but needs more info. Needs to have the same information as the person who wears the sensor. Without info about insulin usage and food intake, it is impossible to calculate how much insulin is required next.
Worked for about a week and now I keep getting error messages??. What’s the point of creating an App if it only works for a week? I keep getting error messages, and it says it’s down for maintenance for 4 hours?? Wth?
Why are you blocking overseas doctors. Why are you blocking overseas doctors
Most frustrating App on my phone. We rely on this information, but the data just doesn't get to the phone or the watch or it comes silently. Totally unreliable now. We are likely to switch to another product unless this gets fixed.
Bluetooth device. We recently switched from Dexcom to Libre. It’s taking some getting used to but overall we are mostly happy with the system. However the Bluetooth system is not great. We lose signal all the time several times a day. It is inconsistent in notification to family members on the link up app. We rarely had these problems with Dexcom.
Won’t display. I am glad that I can at least get notifications .. but whenever my dad tests his sugar, I will get the same notification twice. When I try to open the app, I get a blank screen.. it wasn’t always this way. I’m waiting for an update
High Blood Sugar. I need to go. I need it to go off just when it’s low not when it’s high.
Disappointed. I rarely get my sons blood sugar sent to my device. It’s sporadic and very frustrating
Great App!. We use to follow my son’s blood sugar numbers and it works great for us and his team at MAC
Readings are behind. My daughters readings stopped reading February 15 and it’s now February 17, you need to review your app
Libreview. Very tedious signing up process List of Privacy rules does not include Canada
Graph lags. As a family member, I wish I had more information available to me on this app. When compared with what the sensor user has, it’s minimal. But the most frustrating aspect is that the graph started lagging 25 minutes behind the logbook. So, a tap result shows up in the logbook, but the resulting new graph line does not. I have spoken with customer service twice. Once they made up an answer to say it was my WiFi. The next time, they said they would call back and didn’t. This did not happen in the first week of use. But now it happens all the time.
Good - Unreliable. The app is great to stay connected with your spouses blood sugar reading, if it works. The app on my end keeps on loosing data information unless my spouse scans his sensor and we do have the Libre2. Somehow there needs to be something that can be done to improve the connections. The fact that the libre will still update to the person with the sensor within 20feet, is also not true. Unfortunately not as reliable as it can be.
Unable to register. I was unable to finish the registration process. I could only get to password and was unable to continue the process. This leaves the app useless. I was hoping to see and share this with with my Doctor. I deleted it.
Lovely to have but improvements needed. So this is great to keep track of my husbands glucose level but there needs to be a volume level in the settings. I just had my airpods in and if I wasn’t partially deaf before I for sure am now! He’s currently waiting for his numbers to go back up from low alarm and in meantime the app will still sound an alarm. Nothing can do but wait and I would love to listen to music without busting an eardrum. There should also be a temporary turn off notification/alarms. That way once notified and partner takes care of it you can open app to keep track or scan sensor if needed and that way you won’t forget to turn it back on. Even if its 20-30 min as I understand turning it off for too long can be a huge safety issue. And don’t mute notifications until either app is opened or the notification is interacted with. Its also depressing to watch my hubby sigh after eating or drinking a bunch of carbs and alarm keeps going off for the next 40-60 min. Again there isn’t much can do but wait.. I wanna turn off notifications now but don’t want to forget to turn back on cause right now just want to listen to music without a high pitched deafening beep while I clean the house and hubby is watching tv. Just writing this review it has went off 4 times
Worked great for a few days. Worked great for a few days now do not get readings unless I open app and sometimes it is English and sometimes French :/ was depending on this app for peace of mind when my sons away :( can you please fix this issue
Horrible. My partner moved to Canada from New Zealand and is now using the Canadian LibreLink app but when he tries to add me as a connection for the LibreLinkUp app (for which both our locations are Canada) , it gives an error saying “we can only connect people within the same geographic area”. Would appreciate a fix or support
Updates in LibreLink to. You went and did an update and when you did the update, you screwed it up that I can’t see my wife’s readings. No more all I get are the emergency readings like when it’s low but I don’t get any of the standard readings and I used to get the graphs that are not the graph, but the readings of every every time she did it and now all I get is if it goes low why did you have to keep changing things it was perfect the way it was put it back the way it was then I will give you a five star does that it was fine but you’re getting a one star because there is no zero stop changing things and screwing them up when they’re working make it that people can turn the alarms off and on when they want to and the people helping watch someone that they can turn theirs on and off when they want to but stop changing things it was working perfectly like three months ago two months ago put it back
Needs a lot of work. Too many things to mention
Canadian / USA users. The Canadian AppStore version of the LibreLinkUp app doesn’t seem to work for “linking up” with someone who created their LibreLink account via the USA app. Regardless if they’ve switched to using the Canadian LibreLink app or continue using the USA version, it still doesn’t work. This should work across AppStores/countries. Please let me know if this will be fixed.
Alarms go off constantly. When my partners levels go below the set range, the alarm goes off EVERY time his blood level changes, in any direction. It is SO frustrating. This didn’t happen before the recent update. Woke us up needlessly five or six times last night. I like that he doesn’t have to scan it for us to see where its at - AND that makes the constant alarms even more frustrating and unnecessary. And there is no way to change this that I can see on the app EXCEPT shutting off low alarms all together, which is obviously not good. What the hell, Abbot?? Please fix this before I chuck my phone out the gd window.
Alarms. Is there an option to acknowledge a high/low. That you can silence alarm for 30 min -2 hrs without turning alarm completely off ?
MP
Nope. I get unknown error from the app every time I try to add someone. In short... totally useless to me.
Does not work. I have been using the Libre for many years. Was happy to be switching to the new version 2 and getting the alarms. The linkup app worked for a couple of days and then stopped. I could not get back into the app or recover my password. Rude customer service agent when I was trying to resolve the issue. Have been told it doesn't work with the newest iOS version. Me, plus my two teenage daughters use the Libre2 (that's a lot of libres purchased per year!) and the linkup is essential. We will need to switch ASAP to new devices if this glitch isn't resolved.
App. I love this app so much because I am diabetic I can track my sugar level
Notifications not working. This app was great until the most recent update. Since I updated to it, I have not received a low or high glucose alarm from my spouses sensor, and I cannot see any of their historical data in the logbook anymore. So I only have access to 12 hours of information and I cannot look at trends over time like I could before.
No mmol readings?. There seems to be no option to change the readings to mmol, or references to this in the FAQ and getting started guide. When will it be added?
No one uses a real computer anymote. Sucks that i need a Chromebook to see my readings on a real computer . Lots of apps are diggicult to manage on a 2” screen!
Needs More Information. I am happy with the app and that I can get my sons current reading, however it would be nice if caregivers could see the graph, I would like to be able to see what is going on before his sugars go high or low, but of course, as of now that is only available for the user.
Crap app. Worked for one day, doesn’t send me the hi/low alerts, only randomly shows me the graphs. I had read the reviews and thought maybe the glitches would have been fixed. Basically a waste of storage on my device as it is no assistance to help manage sugars
Stopped working ?. I know the sensor is collecting data because if manually scanned it generally shows a history. However before we didn’t need to manually scan. It read every x minutes. My autistic son could rely on alerts to say if numbers are going too high or too low. And I could see the numbers too. A couple of software updates and maintenance releases later and nothing works. No data 90% of the time. Hopefully this release fixes the major issues.
Can I have it in English. Hi. I think you have a bug. I had to uninstall the app and now it loads with some things in English and some in French. I’d prefer English for my use. Please fix.
Share Feature Not Working. My wife has the new Libre and I have the invite notification inside the app to accept, when I click it, it does nothing. If I exit the app and open it again, the same notification keeps popping up to accept. 🤷♂️. Is there an issue with the sharing feature that hasn’t been addressed?
Too many glitches. We were hoping to use this to manage and monitor our 14 year old’s T1D. I have experienced continuous error messages, and then couldn’t log onto my account or recover my password. After I made a new account with a different email it worked for a few days and now I’m not getting his readings.
Apple Watch. Pourquoi je ne reçois plus de notification sur ma Apple Watch
Trends. This must be designed by someone without diabetes. As a parent, being able to see your daily, weekly, monthly trends on a graph saves hours of work and allows you to adjust your child’s meds without the need for complex equations. The way this is set up I have to manually take the data that is available, add it to a spreadsheet, adjust for time, and work out to the trends. I know how to do this and it is painfully labour intensive. I can’t imagine how people who don’t have that ability manage. All this so that Libre can save a few bucks on programming? At $100 every two weeks you’d think they could throw in this small change.
Had potential but is garbage. So hit or miss and unreliable if it works at all. Hugely disappointing!
Worked for one day. My daughter is on a trial with the libre. My wife and I both have this app to be notified of readings. It worked for the first day and then stopped. We get error messages constantly. On both our following devices. Amateur hour software.
alarms are ridiculous. add an option to change high/low blood sugar alarms to just notifications. the only way to turn off the alarms is to turn off the warnings entirely, which is stupid.
Adsterra is the most preferred ad network for those looking for an alternative to AdSense. Adsterra is the ideal choice for new sites with low daily traffic. In order to advertise on the site in Adsterra, like other ad networks, a certain traffic limit, domain age, etc. is required. There are no strict rules. Sign up!
First time using. I like that I can see the results of my brother’s reading I worry about his sugars
Not useful. So this companion app gives binary results when the device is scanned but doesn’t give graphs, notes, or blood test notifications. So it’s a limited tool that gives limited data. It does give a trend arrow so it’s one notch better than a traditional blood test.
Horrible. Always losing connection to my moms libra2. She lives with me and I care for her. Can’t even go away because of losing the connection and not being able to see if she drops rapidly. Ver disappointed in this system. Tried calling tech and walking through over phone but seems it is worst now.
Offline. I’ve been offline for 6 hours now with no reason. If your app is down, there should be a notification somewhere.
How about iPhone iOS17 widget with Apple Watch complication. How about iPhone iOS17 widget with Apple Watch complication !! Otherwise FreeStyle Libre 3 is outstanding. To see blood sugar slur with always-on display widget…
Useless. You’re only able to see the user’s graph for the preceding twelve (12!) hours. The only other data available is from the “logbook”, which simply shows the one-time readings from when the user did a scan. The upshot is that you can’t see someone’s weekly, or even daily, readings, trends, etc.
Scary. Keeps not giving me real time readings of my father. Will go offline for quite sometime. Had to run out the door in a nightgown to rush to my dads because his sugar was so low and and I didn’t get an alert til his sugar was 52.. so scary. Something needs to change immediately with this app, it never used to do this and all of a sudden started doing this for the past two months.
No Recent Data. I’ve deleted, reinstalled the app several times in the past 2 weeks. I keep getting the No Recent Data on the app. It’s very frustrating and I’ve called customer service and they were no help. Very disappointing, especially when this app is very important to help my husband with his Type 1 Diabetes.
Accurate. Not close to finger stick 103 Phone 52 low alarm going off Today but this is common Around 40 off high and low
Most import urgent low alarm setting turns itself off. The most important urgent low alarm says on when I view settings then the next time I view settings it says off… then on and then off. I have no idea if it is on or off or if it will work. This is a critical alert.
Won’t Connect after accepting a sharing invite.. When I open the app, a window pops up saying my boyfriend would like to share glucose information with me. I hit accept and the window vanishes but nothing shows on the connections list. I’ve closed and reopened the app, rebooted the phone and nothing makes it work. I don’t know what the problem is?!
Allow show password option. Why are you asking for a review when we just started using it
Sending Receiving Unit Unreliable. So far, I estimate 30%-40% of the Units stop working early. A couple only after a day or two. I do love the ability for me to see my wife’s levels and call her to warn about high or low glucose levels.
Bugs since update. Since the update I am not able to get notifications of glucose scans from my parent. I see it in the log book but never get notifications. Please fix, I have checked and all my notifications for this app are on.
Password procedures. I entered a very good password. I confirm that very good password. It was only at that point. I was told what items need to be included. So I started over. This time the error message says I cannot have three numbers or letters in sequence. I did not have that. I believe the password procedure could be more user-friendly.
Limited Look. Th e previous version allowed logbook view to be more comprehensive and I thought ai could see more than 12hrs on the home screen.
AN ERROR HAS OCCURRED. It’s not working?? It says an error has occurred!!! It was working this morning? But now I can’t get it to work? I tried restarting my iPhone and I tried uninstalling it twice! Please help!! ASAP!!
I agree with the other reviewers.. I have only had the app for 24 hours and it is already messing up. I can’t access my child’s readings from my phone. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app.
Maintenance broke it.. After the maintenance connection lost and never came back. Reinstalled app, changed password still nothing.
App is not working right. 1. 20 min lag in readings 2. Does not display last reading when opening app, have to manually move to last reading This update messed up the app, none is happy with it, this is a Glucose monitoring APP it should work Perfect!
Version 4.7. I received an email about updating the app to 4.7 effective June 14th. However I do not see the update option and I cannot view my daughters levels. Luckily her app is still reading her numbers. When will this update be available? This is very inconvenient.
No web version?. This is just going to show the reading last scanned and the waveform. Nothing more. You could send that image out via text & save space on the phone. This could easily be a mobile web page. You shouldn’t need an app just for this.
Alarms not sounding. The last couple of days my app does not alarm for lows when my son is low. His phone goes off but I do not hear his from another room. I really hope this gets fixed.
No data. The app doesn't work correctly all the time. Sometimes it's just saying no data and then my daughter has to stick herself to get a reading
Stopped sharing. Tried reaching customer support. It worked great for a week and now it will not share with me and it has glitches where the app "loads" data for over 1 hour and still doesn't show glucose data. I tried logging off, redownloading and deleting the app and nothing works
About 20 points off. Especially when it is high, but okay to give you the general idea
Mixed features. The feature to “scroll” the pattern needs to be in both apps. The ability to review daily patterns needs to be in both apps.
A Great Tool for Caretakers. I really love this tool. It’s great for caretakers caring for seriously ill and are no longer able to care for themselves.
No readings. I’m using this app to track my husbands blood sugar. It’s always worked perfectly but lately I’ve not been getting current readings. I’ll open the app and it won’t even show a number (- -). It’s at least 30+ minutes behind in alerting me of low blood sugar, which can be extremely dangerous. We’ve deleted and reinstalled the app and that didn’t fix it.
Libre linkup. Amazing most of the time. After 3-4 alarms for my husband I have to delete the app and re- add it for the alarm to sound. If that worked all of the time. Def a five star product.
Sensor. My sensor keep going off saying that Your Sensor is not working. Please remove your Sensor and start a new one and just kept beeping every 5 min but was giving me my readings. I had tod remove it because it beeped all night and that’s money wasted
Implement this. The app alone works as it should but Libre need to make the app available for Apple Watches aswell to make it easier to see sugar levels while driving or where u cannot get to your phone.
Needs apple watch complication. Please add an apple watch integration. There are some places you can't or should not pull out your phone.
Works as it should. My mom has the libre link app installed and I have his one so I can monitor hers
Need to fix a glitch. When app is “down for maintenance” I don’t need constant notifications that no data is incoming!! Obviously, if you took it down for maintenance, there will be no data incoming until you make it active again!!
Broken alerts. My type 2 mom gets spammed all day and night either from high sugar or signal loss alerts. There seems to be no way to time the alerts to your preference and the signal loss alert will go off despite her phone being right beside her.
Not useful at all. As a family member invited to follow someone with the Libre, I expected to be able to see the trend graphs and notes. How can I help if all I can see is what the user sees? If the user has scanned her sensor, she already knows the value. I was hoping to be able to see overall trends up or down prior to the value being entered.
Goes off line too often. This app has service interruptions way too often for hours at a time. The Libre 3 app needs to allow more than one device to receive the readings so family members don’t have to depend on this substandard app to keep an eye on loved ones blood sugar. Abbott is too good of a company to have this bad of an app.
Stop asking me. Stop asking me to rate an app that I haven’t even used yet. I’m giving it a 1 star just because I just signed in and they are nagging me to rate it. What if it’s a crappy app, I can’t give an honest rating. It’s like being asked to tip before you get service. So it’s a star from me. You want a rating, there it is.
Not accurate at all…. I linked it to my partners phone and to myself to see if it was accurate, it’s not - it doesn’t show the logs or the time that my sugar was too low. I struggle with really bad hypoglycemia and I have drops when I’m sleeping. It didn’t show any of the drops that the Libre 3 detected on it’s app nor did it report any of them to this app. It’s completely useless.
Need new app for libre 2. I love the app but I just received the Freestyle Libre2 and the app does not read the sensor. I have the reader, but I would like to only carry my phone not the reader and the phone.
Alarms. I like the app overall but I keep shutting the alarms off and they keep turning on by themselves! I don’t want them on all the time. If I want them on I’ll turn them on. How can I make them stay off until I choose for them to be on. It’s my husbands Libre not mine but we both keep track of his glucose levels.
Great way to see spouse’s glucose level!. This app is the best! I check frequently and it provides peace of mind for me
Can’t sign up on iPhone SE. The ‘new user’ process fails on the iPhone SE - after entering new user info, the button to continue is too far off the bottom of the screen to be clicked (and that screen does not scroll). Also, cryptic notifications appear if you were signed in on the previous version. No in-app feedback mechanism, at least not before login. [The following is for historical purposes and has been fixed: The main screen appears (with the “not for treatment decisions” disclaimer), but there are no buttons or other obvious ways of using the app.]
Much better. Much better by adding what we all asking for which is using graph. Many thanks for that. I would give you 5 stars, if you Can add glucose unit selection for the graph.
It is a great app. Would be much better if you save continues record for 90 days the same period to get the GMI or A1C
Hate that it makes me login in randomly. I use this app from afar to help me track my mom’s blood sugar. For the most part the app is great. But it pisses me off by randomly requiring me to login with credentials. So stupid. I put it on my phone, why do you randomly demand a login? Bad user design.
apple health app integration. thank you so much for this app. along with freestyle libre 3, it is perfect for me to help monitor my diabetes type II. It does help me a lot, 1 question, will there be an upgrade to add data to Apple’s Health App? again thks! i appreciated it
No longer woks. I no longer get notifications on my Lock Screen or alarms. I used to. Have tried resetting everything still I have to know when it’s used and look at the app The sensor is off by as much as 70 points. This makes a finger stick necessary
4.7 Update. The app was "down for maintenance" for many hours on June 14. The 4.7 update appeared on June 15, but consistently records data that is 15-30 minutes behind the actuality. That is unsatisfactory since real-time monitoring of glucose levels is essential.
