i am eight and this is so bad. look where are conversations stupider than mondly some good apps are duolingo drops droplets lingodeer pimsluer innoative look i am not telling you to shut down just get inspiration by these apps for kids please use duolingo use grownup language apps it teaches you everything

Good idea.. mind blowingly boring. The designers need to get out and go observe many regular kids of different ages as they try and struggle with their app. Some observations: 1. No clear evolutionary learning path. You have to constantly hover around your kids when they get lost and haphazardly jump from one hodgepodge catchall category to another (“animals”, etc). 2. Boring “games”. No kid sticks around for these. If I pay, I want something good worth paying for. 3. Nouns are missing gender articles. For example in French the kids may learn the word for “car” and have no idea if it’s “le” or “la”. Looks like this was designed by folks who don’t speak foreign languages actively or at all. 4. It appears to demand and spawn multiple paid accounts and charges if you try to sign up on an iPhone and also add the app to your iPad. 5. App gets stuck on overly complicated menus that the kids can’t navigate out of. This happens all the time. So frustratingly simple to fix yet wasn’t handled. Those are the bigger ones.

Almost perfect. The app is awesome and it is a fun way to learn languages. The only things that I don’t like is you can’t hear the same word in whatever language over again and the sound is a little hard to understand. It sounds like they aren’t saying the last of the word. Overall a great app.

Unable to get the kids app even though I paid for the premium. This is so frustrating. I want to let me kiddo learn Spanish as we are also but even though I paid for the premium lifetime subscription and it shows in my app that I have it, it is asking for me to purchase a subscription for him. I bought the lifetime subscription for this benefit as well! Something needs to be done about this!

Very funny. My son likes this a lot. It is a good way to learn Dutch for beginners.

I love this APP!. I also have the Mondley app for adults and the Mondley VR app for my Oculus. I find using the Mondley app for Kids helps me learn Greek faster by undercutting my ability. Greek is an aesthetic language that bridges humanity to our ancient past.

Goes to fast. It’s a good app to learn Spanish. It just goes really fast whenever they say the words whatever I try and learn the words I always get confused because Like they say it for two seconds then I don’t know what the word is.

Spanish is the best!. I don’t even speak this language and I have friends next door and I don’t even know Spanish and my friend and I don’t even know how to pronounce her name🤣so...I call her A and it was hilarious!!! You know everyone knows hola and stuff like that so anyways so yeah it is a very VERY GREAT game so I geese this is the only game I can think about for English and Spanish so yeah play enjoy it like it and have a wonderful day Sincerely Mini jojo siwa!

6-year-old and I learn together. Our 6-year-old and I are learning Hebrew together. We love this app. We used the free version for a month first. I wanted to be sure our son would stay interested before I purchased (did the annual subscription). FYI, we’ve been learning with other Hebrew for several months. I’ve purchased a few apps ranging from $.99-$3.99. I recommend doing that before you invest in something expensive like this (I just paid $47.99 for an annual subscription to this). Make sure your kid is going to stay interested before spending that much money. This app is great at keeping his attention. He loves doing it. And I usually sit next to him so I can learn, too. It’s such a good app for us so far.

Kids Version is Awesome. I don’t have kids… I just really like this version. 😐 it’s just more exciting than the regular version. I kind of wish the regular version had the upbeat music and cartoony world and picture of the kids version. And I wish the kids version was a little harder… 🤷🏼‍♂️

App has an error on lesson for Learning German. Child reached lesson 6 of 7 for learning German and the app will not let her complete a sentence. Definitely an issue with the app. Have a screenshot that I can show to prove it is not working. My daughter can no longer go any further with app and we paid for the subscription. Can not recommend. Poor product. I did reach out to support to hopefully fix. Until then it does not get a good review.

Paid for premium; do not get premium features. I am extremely frustrated. I have paid for Mondly premium, the 33 language package, which should also include the kids application. Even on their main adult application it says that I have the premium version, and the kids version all though logged into the same exact Apple account it says that I do not have premium and is requesting that I pay for premium for kids separately. I have reached out to support and received no reply (EVEN THOUGH I WAS CHARGED 2 TIMES) so at this rate either way I’ve paid for the kids premium.

Nice. Easy learning

Strong potential. This has strong potential, but is still a little buggy. Some languages show the multiple choice answer selections hidden under the big circle selection buttons, so you can’t see the words underneath. And this app’s premium subscription was supposed to be free for subscribers of the regular Mondly app for adults, but I have not been able to access the premium content here despite trying the restore purchase option repeatedly with customer support. I don’t think I’ll be renewing the regular Mondly app. It’s decent, but I mostly maxed out all the content in my target languages, and I would’ve thought about resubscribing later on if this kids app synced like it was supposed to, because then it’ll be worth it since I could share my language passion with my kid. I like the cute graphics though.

Kids learning Section: Hebrew. I am thrilled with this app for Hebrew. It spells the word in Hebrew, you can view it in English and it pronounces the Hebrew. The 3 chipmunks cheering are ok just a little loud. I turn up the regular sound as some sounds are like others. I am struggling with the difference between the Ls and Rs and switch a lot between the spelling in Hebrew and what I hear. It could just be me. Duolingo as much as I have used it for other languages falls a bit short in the vocal speech of what you see on the screen in Hebrew. Again I think it is a matter of time with updates that are needed. I would like to suggest a section in Mondly Kids with alphabet lessons and some Nikud. ( the vowels) Everywhere people say the Nikud is not necessary for adults but it is used to help pronunciation when teaching children. Hebrew letters and sounds are REAL tough for the beginner learner! Learning the alphabet in Hebrew with special ending letters etc is quite daunting. As an adult though I am very grateful for the Mondly PRESchool section that is provided! Keep up the great work!

Great app for kids. Love using this app for all my toddlers and myself, fun and easy to comprehend and follow along.

Too Fast and Too Slow. My 7 year old tried the preschool section because she is not a strong reader. The narrator told the answer too often and she got bored. When she tried the “school age” app, it requires constructing entire sentences, which was too advanced. The Italian voice sounds very mechanical and speaks very fast, faster than the voice in the adult version of Mondly. Honestly, Mondly has been my favorite adult language learning app so far (and I’ve tried many). I’m really disappointed in the children’s version.

Got it for Latin, but no Latin. The Mondly Kids website clearly lists Latin in the slider, between Catalan (also not available) and Dutch, yet there’s no Latin in the app. With a 6 1/2 year old absolutely obsessed with all things Roman and curious about the language, I was eager to test this out and put down the money if it was good. Disappointed. The kid is also interested in Japan, so we tried Japanese. First preschool level daily lesson starts with ‘theatre,’ ‘cinema,’ ‘actor,’ and ‘film’—are you kidding me? And cinema and film—often interchangeable in English and apparently the same word in Japanese—confused the kid (and me) when trying to match. Not impressed. Edit: After letting the kids play a little longer, I added a star, but as a language educator and learner, myself, I don’t see anything exceptional so far. There’s a lot of missed opportunity, in fact. We’ll give it a week and see if the kids keep interest and I find any reason to adjust the rating.

Says it supports Thai but it does not. It lists Thai as one of the languages supported but that is not true. Did not have Thai on the list of languages to study.

Buggy. Whenever the screen asking parents to swipe left pops up, I swipe and swipe and nothing happens. I purchased three languages but am unable to switch them. Very frustrating. Overall cute app but functionality is limited.

Best app ever. I absolutely love this app I’m learning Hebrew and this app helps me so much on the more adult one it was really hard but on this kid version it is so easy and sooner or later I will be speaking in full Hebrew! All in all I think everyone should have this app soo good .

Yeah, not really happy. The app is okay I guess, but the thing that I have a problem with is the subscription. $47 for just one language is way too expensive. And do you really have to put up the subscription screen every time you finish a lesson? Also, the lessons really don’t help that much. There are a lot of words in Chinese that aren’t correct. So overall I’m not really happy with it.

Really complicated. My son is learning to read and simply couldn't keep up with the most basic lesson. Very disappointing app. And they charge you right away, but give you a 7 day free trial. I'd rather they would let me test the app freely and then offer me to purchase.

My daughter. My daughter is always playing roblox. So I took her iPad and downloaded Mondly kids. Now she is learning so much! I just love Mondly so much thank you 🙏 for inspiring my child 👧🏼👧🏼👧🏼👧🏼

Doesn’t have Thai. The description says it has Thai as an option, but it does not. We have not tried it, but the description is not accurate.

Lies. "Free 7 day trial", that forces you to pay $10/month to access anything other than the loading screen. Nice try.

No me gustó. Pagué la suscripción y nunca pude acceder a las actividades, únicamente a unos ejercicios diarios que están en la opción gratuita (o sea que perdí mi dinero para nada) Ni se puede crear una cuenta ni tampoco hay forma de comunicarse con atención al cliente

Not very useful. I feel like it’s just repeating the same thing over and over again and trusting you to remember it in your head. I feel like that’s not getting me any ware, so I can speak more Spanish. It says the answer in the audio and has a picture above each word. I’m doing this to get me better at Spanish not repeating until I know the words.

blurry background other issues. 1. blurry background makes me nauseous. People who get motion sickness easily don‘t want blurry backgrounds. 2. No way to see the notes page that gives you the word and sentence list. Kids banned from this, but makes no sense to do this! Those who know how to study will refer to thos to refresh their memory. Banning us from this is daft! 3. Israeli kids see words with viwel points before seeing them without vowel points. Those who are eeaf or have auditory processing issues are not stupid with zero ability to learn foreign languages! We need to be able to toggle vowel points on and off. 4. Deaf and auditory processing issues people can not do Hear Only questions so should be able to simply turn those off in settings. 5. MOST apps for language learning BAN those who cant hear properly from learning on their apps by requiring good hearing processing. Hebrew is imposible for me to learn without the vowel points so I understand what is being said. The transliteration is not good enough because ‚e‘ can have many sounds - eh, ay, ee depending on what transliteration rules you use. Thank you for correcting these short comings!

Love the app. My only complaint is the cheering. Drives me crazy listening to the same cheer over and over. I would like to turn the cheering crowd off. 😳

Does not teach with articles for German. When learning German you MUST learn the articles along with a noun (der,die & das) and Mondly DOES NOT teach that. DO NOT GET SUBSCRIPTION FOR GERMAN!

Wrong language. My wife who’s Indian, is telling me that a bunch of the words you teach isn’t accurate. That no one says these things. Such as shub ratri, subra baat. Instead they would say good night or good morning.

Can’t get full access. I pay for the monthly one for 3 months. My daughter is still stuck on the first step on repeat after I noticed it’s not going passed the first stage.

Turkish isn’t pronounced well. I wanted to purchase the turkish version for my kid but the pronounciation is far from accurate. It seems like it is made using a digital program, a robotic voice with no intonations nor emphasis whatsoever.
