JUST like the original!. I am thoroughly impressed so far with how true to the original PC game this new mobile version is. It’s so addicting and nostalgic. I also appreciate that it saves your park’s progress when you switch to another app, and appears to have fixed certain bugs the PC version used to have, while still keeping many of the quirks that made RCT Classic such a beloved game. One little thing though... I’m only on Forest Frontiers, so I didn’t know if this is true for all parks, but admission is mandatorily free to all guests. Be nice if we were able to charge like in the old game, but of course, this is a tiny nit-picky thing that doesn’t detract at all from the fun of gameplay. 5/5 stars for sure... Worth every penny!

Just a suggestion... I have been a fan of this game since it originally came out on the PC years ago. I would spend hours doing a park. When I found this was finally out on iOS so I could relive some great memories, I found that this is in fact not the classic. This is a combination of RCT and RCT2. There’s nothing really wrong with that as RCT2 added some great visuals and extra little things, but the thing I did not like about RCT2 is that it would block you from doing certain things that were possible in the classic RCT such as entrance fee. I get this may be part of a scenario in some instances, but if it isn’t explicitly for the scenario, we should still be able to have the option of doing an entrance fee instead of it being blocked. Overall, I love this game and happy to be able to play it again, but I would rather have the RCT classic the way it was than having a blend. At the very least if there is going to be a blend, then perhaps just pull in some of the coaster designs or graphics from the RCT2 but keep the functionality the same as RCT classic.

Better than original. This is a must own if you like the old style Roller Coaster Tycoon Games. It perfectly replicates the original game and is well worth the money. Including the expansions. On steam and got the game cost more than it does on the App Store and Google play. The most important seller for this version of the game is improvements. It fixes all of the original PC version glitches. On top of that they make the game easier by adding features. In scenario builder you can now place bunches of scenery instead of placing them one by one. You can now import and export saves, scenarios, tracks , ect. You can even still import mods! I’ve put hundreds of hours into the original, Steam version, and this version. It’s by far the best of all of them . The colors are more vibrant, no more glitches, great user interface, and so much more.

The game was fantastic. It’s just reminded me when I was in my childhood sitting front computer and playing the game, the difficult of levels are perfect, however there is only one thing I don’t happy with is that rides always getting old and you must drop down the price to satisfy the guests, you know I spent lots of time to build numbers of roller coasters(due to the roller coasters are part into mountains or undergrounds, so I can’t apply saved designs) and want to build a park that I dreamt, but the guests are like greedy monsters to ask me to drop down the prices to 50 cents or less even free, it making my works flowed by the water, it’s very reduce my patience to the game.

Holy moly the nostalgia is over 9000!. Its everything you love from your childhood brought into the smartphone age. Just as amazing as i remember. Honestly the best $6 i ever spent in the app store ever. Only 2 kinda minor things i dont like though; why is the scenario creator another $6? Would have been much better at $2 like the 2 expantions. And also i wish i was able to play any scenario i wanted instead of having to unlock them by beating levels. Seriously, why on earth would anyone want to beat the Barony Bridge or Crazy Castle scenarios?? Besides that, this game is just too much fun and still love it either way. Edit: new third minor thing; can you get rid of the 200 employee limit somehow? Im at 10,600 guests in my custom park and cant really expand anymore because i cant hire more people. Still loving the game though

All the very best, Origin8This explains why this app hasn’t received an update in about 3 years. I know Atari didn’t develop this game, but I really think they should take a try at managing the development of it, instead of just publishing it. Besides, Origin8 made a Windows/Mac version on Steam. So, if Atari could pick up where they left off, and combine those two versions into one compatible version across all macOS, iOS, and iPadOS with a Universal 2 binary, it would more than make up for what Origin8 left behind when they went bankrupt 3 years ago. I’m also curious to find out how Atari handles privacy with this app, so an update like this would be great.

Perfect besides one point. This game is just as much fun as the original one I played on the PC. It is fantastic. The new outline of maps works so well. Each grouping works up from simple to hard. There are a few problems with the game. The first is the size of the buttons. On an IPhone, the buttons are too small, but you get use to it after a while. The next problem is when digging holes, there is no way to make indents or slants. I doubt I am conveying this properly, but making ponds are a nightmare and a hassle. Finally, this is a personal nitpick but I wish some parks are either free park and payed rides or free rides and payed Park. I wish a few parks were both. This game is a blast. Perfect for quick pick up and play sessions. Making rides is fun and designing the park enjoyable. I so love playing this game. Get it, figure out the tricks, and each park turns into an enjoyable challenge to stretch your mind.

Worth every penny and more!. The classic game, in all its addictive glory, is back! Everything you loved about the original game; the sound of a cash register when patrons get on a ride, clumpy graphics, customers complaining about disgusting paths, janitors wandering off to mow the grass instead of sweeping litter, customizable roller coasters, specific rides that are extra popular when it's raining, annoyed patrons looking at their watches when they've been in line too long, and the way they all stop and cheer (and release their balloons) when you reach your goal. It's all here. Best app ever with no pressure to buy anything else. There are so many levels to do. I will buy the expansion packs later - but for now I am having hours of fun with my original purchase. There are a few reviews requesting an option to have a single admission park rather than costs per ride. Note that option is available in certain challenges - like everything else, you need to make it to that level to play it. Everything about his game is true to its original PC form. A great purchase. You will love this app.

Great Remake, needs Improvement. RTC Classic is a remake of the original Roller Coaster Tycoons 1 and 2, and it’s pretty fun. The scenarios are almost exact to the originals, includes almost to all the features of the originals, and even introduces more stuff to make the game even better. My issues with it are as follows: Considering this is a REMAKE and not a direct port, the team could’ve introduced simple stuff that fans have wanted for years, such as testing unfinished rides and a sandbox mode. Also, the amount of vandalism in my park can get insane even though I have like 10 security guards (and the park is usually small. 4/5 because you can play a remastered one of the most iconic games of all time on the go without losing nostalgia, but not 5/5 because they didn’t add simple mechanics fans wanted for years.

CLASSIC!!. I haven’t fallen in love with any of the RCT games since the original. I was so pleasantly surprised to find this on the App Store! And it is exactly as promised - it’s the CLASSIC version! It has a couple of tweaks but in essence, it’s the exact same thing. 100 different scenarios to play. It is so fun and I am totally addicted! The reason I only gave four stars instead of five is that I think there are a few things that need to change. I wish that it was updated for iPhone XS. Parts of the screen are cut off because of the layout of the iPhone XS. All the time I accidentally swipe up or down, and the sound will turn off until I restart the app. Also, sometimes the thumbnails of the rides and the people don’t show any picture but just a blank screen. Please update this app for 2019! Thank you!!

A little frustrating. I realize this game is a big piece of nostalgia for many people leaving reviews. I’m sure that eventually once I painstakingly figure out how to do anything I’ll like it too. However for first time players, this game would have greatly benefitted by having an actual tutorial built in to step-by-step guide you through the process of building and managing a basic park scenario. Instead of restarting a park over and over to try and figure the process out, I bought the toolkit thinking i’d just be able to jump into an easy sandbox mode to fiddle with until I get the basics. Nope. Still confusing. It should be clear in the product description that there is no tutorial. Again, I get that many people have played loved and enjoyed this game for years and I would love to do the same, but without any real tutorial help to get me started besides some EXTREMELY BASIC “tips” I am disappointed. I was hoping to be able to jump in and have some fun right away instead of searching for internet tutorials to help me know what to do.

Great great game.. I used to play on the computer, then on Xbox and now I play on my iPad. I love this game and every time this game was made for the updated game player it never disappointed. Playing on my iPad has be very awesome and reminds me of the good old days. Playing is just like I did on the computer. Everything is exactly the same. Thank you for making this game playable on my iPad. Hours and hours and hours of wasted time playing a game that I really enjoy. I have a request and I’m asking only because you did such a great job with Roller Coaster Tycoon could you the developer make an edition for iPad of the classic game Rampage. The one from the 80’s was fun and I didn’t mind the update one named Rampage World Tour. I would buy this game instantly. I really hope you are able to make this possible. Again you did a fantastic job with Roller Coaster Tycoon and I really hope people understand that it is worth the money. I know of Smashy City and NO it’s just not the same. I would love to play the original Rampage. The money people pay is way worth it. The player gets to play over 65 different park themes and challenges. Thanks again.

Just like the old days :). Loved that this game performs just like the computer version. Had to get used to not being able to set an entry fee for every park, but just making drinks/food etc. a bit higher allows for progress. My only issue is that it kept freezing one day I decided to go back to play after a long time and nothing would fixed it ... I couldn’t get into any parks for more than 5 seconds without it freezing up. I had to reinstall and then everything was GONE, including all the progress I had made and game saves. It is linked to my Game Center account but apparently that isn’t enough to retrieve everything lost. I will still play but I know there were a few levels (making rollercoasters specifically to a certain rating) that took me forever to pass. :( This is the only reason I am not giving 5 stars which it deserved before this happened. 👎🏼

Wow....better than the original(s).. I loved this game when it originally came out in 1999, 2002, and 2004 (RCT1,2,3) But to have it on iOS is just amazing, especially the mods they added to coasters like the LSM Launch Tracks on Twister Giga, and Looping coasters. However, they didn’t modify the scenario editor at all, and it is still just as mediocre as the first 2 games. They also did not include any of the mods that users created thru New Element, among others, to create new flat rides, coaster types (RMC, B&M Wing, intamin wing &meg-lite to name a few). This game is really good but I think that Atari could really tap into more of its potential than they have. 4/5 stars. I’ve loved it since I’ve had it, which has been over 24 months!

This is the same one from your childhood that you’ve been looking for!. If you’re looking for the original Roller Coaster Tycoon that knocked your socks off when you were a kid, this is exactly the one you’ve been looking for! It’s RCT 1 and 2 combined into one game. It’s also available on PC/Mac, but in my opinion, the touchscreen controls work immaculately, so if you’re looking to play on mobile, but are worried about touchscreen controls being sluggish or not working properly, have no fear! I will say that it’s probably better to play on iPad, as iPhone screens may be a bit too small for certain building functions.

A truly perfect game. If you are looking for the nostalgia from when you were a kid I promise you this is it. I’m 26 now and remember playing this game as a very young kid. I was a bit skeptic about this game now being on a touch platform but let me tell you I have put 50+ hours into this game and not 1 single issue. Game runs smooth, the touch platform is perfect, hasn’t crashed once (iPad 6th Gen running iOS 14) this game is EXACTLY the same game on PC, it’s beautifully perfect. I’m typically one to complain but I can’t come up with a single issue I have with this game. If you’re on the fence about buying it let me save u the pros and cons list BUY IT TRUST ME YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED. An absolute perfect game I can’t say it enough. I usually play Xbox one at nights after work, I haven’t touched my Xbox in weeks because I run to this game in my free time now. Act like Nike and just do it friend, buy it, buy it now.

Great game till it crashes. I always loved this classic rollercoaster tycoon and this is where I have to complain, so far since I upgraded phones this is 2nd time ive has this issue, it loads up fine but when I went to continue or start a new game it freezes shortly after I move the screen anywhere. I’m using an iPhone X. You can hear the crowd and music but it just freezes and you have to exit out via home screen and then shut down the game to reload it, repeatedly, but even then it still continues to do this. Also the remedy that fixed this issue last time was downloading the expansions, I’ve downloaded all 3 now and still this issue.. weeks after getting the DLC for it.

It's the old roller coaster tycoon on computer. It's exactly the same, and has the same scenarios where you play a pre-built park. Plus extra. The person complaining about not being able to charge for admission hasn't played through all the scenarios. There's levels where you can charge admission and not for rides etc... There is no free form park so that's different. Also if you did some research about etc you'd find the tricks. The quickest way make money in any scenario is an old cheat that was on the computer version and it works on the phone and iPad too. You make the park admission price free, then for every ride you set the admission price to the excitement rating. so test rides before opening so you can set the price. Oh and you always round down to the nearest 10, so if the ride has an excitement rating of 7.87 (roller coasters are higher) you can charge $7.80 for it. If you do that, guests always ride your rides and most think it's a good value. Then you have tons of people running out of cash. When your value is dropping make sure you assign handymen to sweep their own section rather then placing a bunch randomly. Then make sure the park loops around so people can find the exit after they've gone through everything. You can even set all the guests who are saying "I wanna go home" over by the exit and they will leave and the value goes up.

Like the original but better. If you played the original RCT on windows 98/XP you already know this game. It’s the same game but better. They’ve added enhancements to the rides(cosmetics), more prebuilt coasters to choose from, and you can take it on the go! I hope they continue to update and add to this game. One complaint I have is buying land can be a burden when you are really extending your park. You have to click on each block one at a time; I wish there was a feature where you could buy 4/6 at a time. Also would be cool to have a sandbox mode, or a complete blank map to start with, besides Forest Frontiers, but for now I’m happy. If they fix these two things it’ll for sure be a 5/5.

One of the greatest mobile games in existence. I never review games, but I have to give this one a perfect score. I have been a fan of RCT since the very first game, and the fact that they’ve got classic RCT back up on mobile is incredible. And the performance is just as good as the old PC games. The buttons are obviously a little harder to work with on mobile, but it’s extremely consistent with the original games, and keeps all of the charm and originality of RCT 1 and 2. This is easily the best RCT game available for mobile, and maybe the best business sim out there. There is a massive amount of content (95 SCENARIOS!) that kept me playing for months and years in here. All included in the price. I’ve never gotten a game MORE worth its cost than this one. My ONLY critique is that in-game purchases have been really spotty for me. I have been charged multiple times after attempting to buy them, and they are still not available on my phone. (They are, strangely, available on my MacBook, though). If someone could get Chris Sawyer back on these games i would die of happiness. Best game on the App Store.

By far my favorite tablet game. I’ve played this game on computer since it was released and it’s got such a well balanced and designed gameplay, there’s just nothing quite like it in modern apps. I try other games, so many different games, but I never find myself wanting to go back to them after a few sessions. This game is different. I’ve paid far bigger money for console games that I don’t spend nearly as much time on or get nearly as much enjoyment, relaxation, and satisfaction from. And for a tablet game I absolutely love not having ads or timer countdown locks on features. Extremely worth it to pay the money (such a small amount too compared to the combo of original pc software it contains) and get a complete game free of ad and pay to win hell. Thanks again to the rtc team for making this awesome game and bringing it life again in a new format.

6 Star! Nostalgia from before pay2play. I would honestly have paid twice the cost of the app to finally be done with in-app purchase-ridden games that are really not GAMES but just SCHEMES. I spent countless hours playing this game almost a decade ago and it's a perfect stable clone of everything from the original. I almost was in disbelief when I saw it arrive to the App Store after furiously deleting the other "roller coaster tycoon" poser apps. I was INFURIATED with the "log back in every x minutes" concept that so many games are turning to in order to make any progress and the obvious walls setup only to be taken down for in-app purchase! This game may not be for everyone but it is one of the greatest sandbox games I've ever played!! You buy the game, (you can buy very reasonably priced expansions) and you pay ONE TIME to have it! I despise the games with $$$$ restrictions to access content so it melts my heart to have this available to the world!! <3 YES!

Fantastic, But One Complaint. To start, if a fan of the original Rollercoaster Tycoon games, this is a wonderful experience. The visuals, sound effects, and mechanics are nearly exact, with some pains from the previous games on PC made simpler for mobile consumption. Unfortunately, every scenario in this game is solely reliant on getting a certain amount of guests in the park with a time frame, or reaching a desired park value. No other options. With that being said, there are an insane amount of scenarios, enough to last for an abundant amount of hours. However, there is no sandbox option and this is my complaint. The purchasable “Toolkit” is the only option for sandbox, and the mechanics for making it sandbox are horrendous. The park land must be set which is incredibly time consuming; when choosing rides and attractions, only a set number can be chosen, and if you’ve forgotten to pick a certain one you want, there is no way to revert back. All of this can be eliminated my adding a “Sandbox Mode,” unlimited money and the option to make the land as big as desired. If this was fixed, the game would be literal perfection.

Great game! One issue -fixed-. I love roller coaster tycoon 1 and 2 on PC. The controls on this game are intuitive and work well. There are just one issue that almost ruins this game. At least 2 roller coaster types don't allow you to go up or down hill when you choose to custom build them. This is a huge flaw that makes custom coasters pointless with those particular roller coasters. Which in a game about building roller coasters is pathetic. Fix your game!! Update: the broken roller coasters that wouldn't like you go up or down hill have been patched. Very nice to see a pay up front game care to make things right. Absolutely 5 star game. Also the hide supports/rides etc is hidden. Click pause then options. It took me a while to realize those features got ported over too.

Thank you. I've played this game for ten years and I've loved it for so long but until now I haven't had a practical way to play it. This game combines everything that was great about the first two games and adds more. All of the parks from the first two games and new ones too. Also the addition of LSM launch track on Twister and Giga coasters. It's so great being able to make real launch coasters. There is a problem though with some parks where all my guests wouldn't be able to find the park exit and will get mad and drive my park rating from 999 to 0. Also a glitch where I can't see anything on my map or any of the ride option screens or the construction menus. These are minor things though. The one thing that is really annoying is the amount of battery this game uses however this can't be helped so I can understand. Anyway if you like this game before I can't recommend this game to you enough I've play at least 300 hours so far and don't plan on stopping anytime.

Honest Review. So I used to play this game years ago on PC. I would always check the app store a lot to see if I could find something as close to this game as possible to play but it always ended in bad copy cat versions. I gave up looking for a while and then my sister texted me telling me to buy this app and try it. She said she had already bought it and it was amazing. I was immediately excited to give it a try myself so I bought it ASAP. Let me tell you this is the best thing I’ve ever purchased in the app store. It is THE EXACT SAME GAME as it was for PC. The only difference ive noticed is that in some maps you can charge for park fee and not for rides, in others you can only charge for rides and not entrance fees. Honestly this made it funner for me because it was more of a challenge. They also included new features that make it easier to play (such as the ‘mark all as same price’ feature so you dont have to constantly change the price of ever food stand you make). Im telling you right now if you liked the PC version have no doubts and buy this app. Not even joking everyone in my household had bought this on their IPads and weve all been addicted the last couple days.

Update Needed due to Several Bugs. • Guests have been caught line jumping, missing the rides completely! • Mechanics are stuck on fixing rides when entrance and exit stations are separated! • Staff have been caught wandering outside their patrol area, lollygaging infinitely! • Staff sometimes "wrong warp" outside of their patrol area, trapping them and preventing them from doing their jobs! This most commonly occurs from loaded save data, which can easily become corrupted because of these bugs! • Rides sometimes do not resume normal operation, resulting in consecutive breakdowns! • Park Value Plummets -$200,000+ in less than a week! • Also experienced issues explained by newmanix, CODYCORE, rock&rollruinedmylife, and Poot-Sin! • The Original RollerCoaster Tycoon Expansion Packs contain parks exclusive to that title, and should be brought back via in-app purchase! • The Original RollerCoaster Tycoon allowed you to freely choose the price of both park and ride admission! RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 limited you to either the park or rides must be FREE! The limitation from RCT2 should be dropped for this version, as some parks do charge for certain rides! Not dropping that limitation makes the entire game experience extremely unrealistic! • The six-seater style wooden coasters in real life have five cars per train! With an in-game limitation of four cars per train, this makes it impossible to re-create certain coasters!

Please Update Hide Scenery Button. I can’t say there is anything I regret about purchasing this near-flawless rendition, so 5 stars is a given. However, please update the hide scenery button and underground view functions and all of those checkboxes next to it, to be user enabled permanently on each map. It is beyond frustrating to try and rapidly deploy rides on a map like fungus woods, when the trees “re-sprout” as soon as I lay the foundation for a pre-built ride(then you have to “opt + hide scene” again and again and again and again, to lay entrances, paths, etc., and it becomes frustrating beyond words). Same goes for working on underground maps, which become unbearable. If you just make it so that I check the hide scenery box once to hide the trees while I build, and they remain hidden until I uncheck the box to view them again, the gameplay would improve drastically, same goes for the other checkbox functions. Also I remember getting notifications with how many people died on crashed rides in the original pc version, so please bring that back. Running on iPad, thanks!

Great game, but... I don’t leave many reviews, but something must be said. Don’t get me wrong, this game is amazing if you love tycoon style games. I have been a fan of it since it came out on PC (RCT3 is just okay. There is some kind of magic to be had in RCT, RCT2, and this one, essentially both combined.) You manage a park with finances, simply put. Game has multiple “scenarios” that require you to perform certain tasks in order to win - quite fun and interesting. My biggest beef lately is that on the new curved iPhone screens, and especially the “null zone” near the top of the screen where the camera etc are are essentially ignored by the game. This makes selecting the “Adjust Land” option, the “Settings” option a repetitious endeavor, and spoiler: both of these are very useful and will be pressed FREQUENTLY...or at least, you will try to. The park info button in the top left is hard to press as well, but not used as frequently. Park map in top right is big enough that it is not an issue. But the other corners...and my eyes brightened when this just got a new update..!! But alas..these issues ignored. Am I trying to deter you? Not at all. Great game, but unfortunately, probably more suited for anything less than the newest phone, or on an iPad, which to me kind of alienates a big group of players, myself included. I will be waiting for the day I can complete the scenarios on my phone. Until that time, ride and scream, friends.

Reliving my childhood. This was my absolute favorite game growing up and had all the RTC games and expansion discs for my dad’s pc. I can’t tell you how happy I am to be able to play this again. I don’t know that an Apple version ever existed (even on Steam it’s pc only). This game also works on the mew M1 iMacs. Can’t get full screen ratio, but plays great with a few crashes ever now and then (even if I hadn’t saved recently it will still load exactly where I left off before the crash). My only bummer about the iPad experience is adjusting land. On the desktop PCs version you used to be able to click a land plot and drag up to make mountains or down for valleys (that could then be filled with water for water rides). I haven’t been able to figured out how to do that on a touch screen

It’s Great, just buggy on the iPhone X and iPhone 11. I have an iPhone 11, and when playing, if I accidentally slide down into the control center or into a menu on my phone, the game mutes/pauses itself and when I unpause the game, there is no sound! This means that every time I accidentally slide into a menu on my phone, I have to restart the game if I want to play with sound. (Which I do.) I also wish that there was a way to make the user interface larger for those of us with bigger screens, and have it configured for iPhone X and 11 so that some of the buttons aren’t cut off. It is very difficult to press many of the buttons because of this issue, and the game is sometimes unplayable. I hope that these issues get fixed soon so that I can actually enjoy this game in all of its glory!

Near-perfect port. This has everything I love and remember from the original game, right down to being able to pop loose balloons and making ducks quack by clicking on them. I've been enjoying the trip back into my childhood, and it is more than worth the price of the app. My only complaints are a few glitches; some were from the original game so I don't mind those as much, but the most major is app-specific: whenever anything pops up on the screen (control panel if I'm trying to change volume or music, "20% battery remaining", etc) or if I switch out of the app, the game loses all audio. Sometimes closing the app fixes this, sometimes I have to do it 3 or 4 times before I get my audio back. I've rated it 4 stars out of 5 for this, and would re-rate if they can fix it.

Great Game But Badly Needs IPhone Xs/X Update. Great game, but for heavens sake can you update this for iPhone XS Max (and the other X iPhones)? It’s been several months since the new phone is out and over a year since the X came out, but this screen doesn’t line up and you literally can’t play because the controls aren't configured for the screen. For example, when I’m making a coaster it won’t let me move the creation box because the iPhone X screen doesn’t line up, so it gets stuck! Not fully playable on iPhone XS Max or X until they update it. Love this game and would give it five stars if they just took a little bit of time to update it for the newer iPhones. If you have one of those, don’t buy this until they update it - you will love looking at the game but you’ll get frustrated quick when you realize that because the developers haven’t updated the game, the simple controls can’t all be assessed.

Chris Sawyer’s Game!. This is THE definition of a perfect port of a perfect game. No, this is not a watered down, weaker version of the master piece Chris Sawyer released in 1999 and 2002; this is HIS mastery. Both RollerCoaster Tycoon 1 and 2, inclusive of all of the expansion packs rolled into one app that you can take on the go in your pocket is worth it in my book, even if I don’t actually build anything on the phone, I just look at my parks that I IMPORT! Yes! You can import parks you or other people have made on the PC (assuming you buy the DLC of course). Other than the expansion packs, scenario builder and import tool, there is NO DLC, no pay to win crap, not the awful Atari RCT4 mobile game, this IS the best game ever. Still prefer it on PC, but nevertheless, I love this game. TL/DR: Fantastic, flawless port of the best PC game ever.

THIS IS WHAT I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR. Listen... any bad reviews must be coming from kids who weren’t an original RCT & RCT2 fan growing up. But for me, this is everything I could’ve asked for and more. Do you even know how long I’ve been trying to play the original RCT??? It’s been around 15 years since the last time I got to play it. Ever since then, I have been devising ways to play it that never seemed to work. When I found that it came to the iPhone, my life has finally felt like a void has been filled. My life is now complete. All the magic is still there. Whoever thought of the idea to put the original on the App Store, I wish I can hug you a million times. Whoever you are, I love you so much. Thank you for this. I can now relive my childhood.

Great except unlocking levels. I love this game and it brings me such nostalgia. I played it when I was in high school on my computer. The only thing I wish would change is the opening of new color groups. I’ve beat every level except for the two in sapphire where you have to finish building the coasters. I am horrendous at building, which is why I always use the premade ones. But now, the amethyst level won’t unlock until those two levels in sapphire are completed. So now, I’m stuck. I’m not sure if this was the case on the PC game because I never got this far. But it’s very disappointing that I can’t continue onto new levels and have to repeat old levels just to continue to enjoy the game. Other than that, I’ve had no issues with the app crashing or freezing. So happy to be able to play this again!

Still love this game, But...... I have played this game since I was little, Always liked the original version the best. I now have only apple products So I was very Happy & excited to see it offered for apple products now. However, I Don’t know who decided for everybody That its Unfair to be able to charge an entrance fee + fees for each ride So They just took away the ability to charge an entrance fee, But whoever decided that, It is Unfair for you to make that decision for every single player. I love this game, However Its not quite as enjoyable if U don’t have much money in the game to build your park more & more. The only reason I don’t is because I cant charge an entrance fee anymore. The coding needs to be changed back to the original coding, so People can charge an entrance fee if they would like too. It is a game, Your not charging real people for both, so It is absolutely ridiculous that someone decided for everyone that Its not fair to charge for both. Even in real life there Are places where They charge an entrance fee & for everything in the place. I need to be able to charge whatever I want for whatever I want too, Nobody is forced to come in my Amusement park if they don’t want too pay what I am charging!

Sound issues. Overall, the game tessellates better to touch controls than I would’ve thought possible. A lot of care was given to ensuring the game runs smoothly and works well with iPhone hardware, so I commend the developers for creating as authentic an experience as possible. However, I have never gotten the audio to work and believe it to be a bug, so I do hope that is fixed soon. The music and sound effects truly make the game the nostalgic experience complete and their presence is sorely missed. Furthermore, it is a bit disappointing that this version is not technically the full package, as certain expansion packs and even the coaster builder are locked behind additional paid content walls, which feels a bit greedy for such an old game. Still, this is the same game you know and love and is more than playable with touch controls.

Nostalgia with a minor headache. First off, I don’t have many games I enjoy from this far back with this replayability so this is one of those that I played non stop as a kid along with C&C Red Alert! I like how this sticks with the original currently working my way through the first round of parks now. As far as gameplay I am annoyed how my whole screen isn’t utilized and I am constantly hitting my park info buttons on the top left when I am building a roller coaster or I hit too far up where my options come up for my iPhone 10 cutting the sound from the game off where I have to close and restart to get game sound back. Also, I can’t scroll down to the other parks that I’ve unlocked in emerald so I am hoping when I unlock more this changes but I should be able to see what parks I have left. Other than those minor things which I hope an update could fix, the game is great! Please update this soon!

Just like the original!!!. I was very surprised when I bought this that it worked exactly like the originals (which are incredible). I have had this game for over 2 months now and I’m still playing! However a few bugs are here and there though, but are not too major, just little things I’d like to point out for their next update. For example, when you place scenery around a ride another piece of scenery, the part of the ride or piece of scenery will slightly disappear where they meet graphically. Another thing is that when guests ride the merry-go-round, no matter how many people are on it, it appears empty with no guests. Lastly, I just want to suggest that the developers should add a multiplayer option, just like openrct2 and add the real parks from the original games. Besides that, if you are looking at this game wondering if it’s a good purchase, I say a big YES!

Great game! Just a couple things. I have been searching for this for years on the App Store and couldn’t believe it when I saw it and had some doubts but after playing today it’s brought back so many memories it’s exactly like the old computer game and I agree with all the reviews saying worth every penny. Just a couple things I don’t understand why it’s free to get in the park now that was huge back in the day charge 20$ to get in your off to a good start I see some people spend 2 hours in the park spent 6$ have 60$ in their pocket and they’re leaving please change that. Also I got the game last night played all today had an awesome park going money was going up like crazy I had the loan debt paid off had 5,000$ I was set I hit fast forward and got up to let my dog out gone 10 minutes come back I had lost 800 people I was negative 2,000$ I had to take out a loan again that got eatin up and now I’m still -800 people and I am in debt of about 20,000$ including loans I have no idea how to even get back up there’s nothing I can do so I don’t know ... help? What a waste of a day. Thanks other than that I can’t find anything else wrong with it.

Playable but buggy and abandoned by the developer. This is an incredible and nearly perfect port that is worth every penny. The developer sadly has abandoned this game leaving a number of minor but frustrating bugs. Most, but not all, focus around iPhone X support. I’ve contacted them with reproduction steps only to be ignored. There are some input, UI, and sound issues but this is still a super playable game. Highly recommend the expansions. Chris Sawyer, if you are reading this, we could use some bug fixes! All said, I’ve spent countless hours playing this game and can’t recommend it enough. The controls somehow manage to be even better than the PC version. Wish there was a way you could cheat in the mobile versions but the game is so fun, as is, this is a minor complaint.

Almost the same. Pretty awesome. Really loved the original and the two expansions. Really pumped to find all that on here. One major disappointment is that I cannot choose to make my park run by admission to the park vs admission to individual rides. I would be really happy if they took it back to the original way and let people choose how they want to do their park. I also can’t figure out how change my view to hide things like hiding scenery, hiding rides, hiding people, underground view, stuff like that. I’m already a little nervous about certain parks I like playing. Not having the ability to change views like that will make things difficult. If it is possible to do and I just can’t find it needs to be made way easier. I feel like I’ve clicked everything without finding it so... yeah. Also, if there is ever a way to make this syncable with the steam version on my Mac that would be really great too.

Just one thing!. I love this game it’s just like the original I used to play as a kid on the computer! All the sounds and rides and little quirks are still there and I love it. But one thing I used to love was to rename stuff/people/rides/etc. now I know you can in this version too but on the iPhone 10 x the screen cuts off the typing so you can’t see what you’re typing. Super minor I know but I thought I’d throw in my two cents. Other than that it’s virtually perfect replica and a little more! Thanks! Edit: it would be cool to be able to play this version on MacBook! I don’t know if that’s possible but I would spend wayyyy to much time if I could haha ! Great game

Need sandbox!!. This is an incredible port, everything about the original 2 RCT’s you love, in your pocket ready to play for hours or just a few minutes. The graphics are nostalgic and colorful, the park-management simulation is the best in its class, and the scenarios are varied in both aesthetic and difficulty. The one thing missing in my opinion is a true, unlimited sandbox mode. The scenario-editor mode can be used to create your own park, but having to play through the map as a scenario (waiting for certain rides to be researched, having limited money until you can get your park up and running, etc.) is less than ideal. All-around though, this version is far superior to RCT Touch in its faithfulness to the original and tried-and-true gameplay formula, and the expansions add an already impressive amount of content to the already hefty base game. I’ll be cozied up with this game all winter 🥶

True Rollercoaster Tycoon. It makes me so incredibly happy to see that they released this version of the game. There are no micro transactions, no time limits, no gimmicky game mechanics; it’s Rollercoaster Tycoon in its purest form. I would say that this game is still the gold standard for tycoon games. It’s straightforward and easy to pick up while still containing enough nuance and depth to continually refine your strategy. This mobile port manages to retain all the charm and fun of the original while also providing an intuitive touch-based interface for modern devices. The game is fun to pick up and play for 15 minutes or for a few hours. It’s truly a modern classic of a game and well worth your purchase.

The Original Games brought to Consoles. Let me start with the gameplay. This game is extremely fun to play, it was really fun to build parks from the ground up and complete objectives. The game is also extremely beginner-friendly, it comes with tutorials and it’s not a game where you have to learn everything. No matter what skill level you’re at you can still complete the objectives. Now we have graphics. They aren’t amazing but definitely match the retro style that the original games had. This game includes a ton of parks to play with and enjoy, I’ve been playing this for years and still haven’t completed every park. Overall, this game is a solid 9/10 and I think it deserves a ton of players (way more than RCT Touch).

Best. Port. Ever.. This game is worth every single penny. It's a game that (surprisingly) is a pleasure to play on the iPad. I am a person who played this game ever since it came out in 1999, I was only nine years old. So I was pretty biased to the original, and roller coaster tycoon two. I knew that nothing could ever beat that game. And it's true, nothing has since. But, this port of roller coaster tycoon is absolute gold. It's worth the money paid, and more. It's easy to play, stays true to the original, and the topping on the cake is that the controls are easy and intuitive. I haven't played another game, or port to the iPad that has been as fantastic as this game. I have found that many games that have been moved over to the iPad from originally being on the computer have been hard to play, and that it almost seemed like a chore to play. But not this one. I have incredible gratitude to the developers for figuring this out and making it available to us. Thank you!!

Amazing Port to Mobile Devices!. I was quite stunned that they were able to bring this classic to mobile devices. After some thought however, it made sense they did, as the game is very doable on iPhone and iPad (and honestly more efficient over PC, in my opinion). This app provides an exorbitant amount of content, as it is a hybrid of the first and second game, providing the mechanics and design from RCT2. There is paid DLC for the app but it is entirely worth the value! I play the game mostly on my iPad. It’s manageable on the phone, but the bigger screen is a lot easier to see everything. Additionally, the game comes with iCloud saving, and you can start a park on any device and continue building on another. An overall fantastic game that teaches about managing an amusement park. Highly recommend.

Needs something to make creating scenarios more fun. This is a great game don't get me wrong but creating scenarios is a tedious and long process. If there was a way to streamline it that would be nice, like changing the use of the land from unused to owned is a small box that I wish could get to larger sizes. One thing though is needed more than the rest in the creation area and that is being able to add rides and roller coasters to the park so that they are there when you begin the scenario. Many of the premise scenarios have these and it would be awesome to able to add them into custom scenarios to make realistic scenarios. Again, thanks for making this top of the line game and I hop that my input is seen and taken into consideration

My favorite of all time!!. I used to play this all the time on my computer about 10 yrs ago. This game was my childhood favorite! I was SO happy when I saw this game in the App Store. It is as amazing as the PC version. Better to play on iPad. Variety and plenty of theme parks, never run out of interest to play. Only cost me $10 but can last forever. Definitely worth the money. I am so happy and thank you for bring this game to App Store! Love it!

Roller coaster Tycoon Classic - Almost perfect. I am so happy this was released, this scratches my nostalgic itch I have to go back and play RCT. The game has been optimised in almost all the right ways for mobile. That being said I do have two minor gripes with the game. 1) UI scale on iPhone. On my iPhone 6 the UI is a bit to small, making it hard sometimes to see. That being said though on my iPad mini it's fine albeit still a little small. 2) minor again but the part entry price is locked at free. It would be nice to be able to change however I almost always had it at free when I use to play it so it's not to big of a problem for me personally.

Childhood memories are welcome but controls need work. What can I say, it’s my favourite tycoon game that I loved and played as a kid, only on a much more accessible platform these days for me. Improvements need to be made on the controls though. Tap and drag for paths would be great. Easier way of putting scenery would be great too; you’d think with the putting the mobile version on there would be some kind of recoding in the way that works in order to alleviate some of the issues that the original game had with the isometric view. Still a pain to place scenery with a lot of building and then removing. The tap and hold for magnified view is great but would be good if that could extend to scenery placement.

Good. The game itself seems to be fully intact and is playable. Good fun and lots of nostalgia. The controls could use further work, however (making paths should be somehow click and drag, the "category" tabs in ride build menus should be able to be pressed, and deselected by sliding your finger without releasing, some smaller buttons need further enlargements etc) Also, it'd be nice if music playback was enabled when you turned off the in game music in the options tab - when levels take 30+ minutes to complete, it's nice to play your own stuff in the background.

An old favourite! but I have a suggestion.... This is one of my favourite games that i played when it first came out in the late 90’s. I’ve continued to play it all these years on PC. The app is fabulous and i love that its mostly untouched. My one wish however would be for there to be the custom scenario editor like in the PC version as playing through the prefab games can feel a little bit like Groundhog Day to some extent. Being able to create your own scenario’s with its own constraints was one of my favourite features on PC and would love to see it on the app version! Otherwise you cant go wrong!

Real awesome, until... Really good for the first 40/50 minutes, then made a wrong path, tried to delete it and cause a crash! Can't get past the lock screen for the life of me tried everything from turning off wifi to logging out of game centre! Hopefully an update would fix this though? iPhone 5s

Almost a perfect port. Runs exactly how it would on the Pc, so if you enjoyed playing it on the computer then you’ll like it here! Noticed a few bugs though, whenever I close and open the game the sound will completely cut out until it turns back on randomly later, the game crashes when you select screen settings which is a shame because it can be hard to click things in the corners on the iPhoneXR

Love it but screen optimisation for iPhone X is bad. I love this game, it is exactly the same as the roller coaster tycoon games for PC and now I can play it anywhere. I have had no issues and the game runs very smooth except for the screen optimisation for iPhone X. In certain places, text is cut off and menus sometimes glitch and you are unable to quit them. Also when naming a ride the text box is completely cut off. Please fix these issues and I can give it the rating it deserves.

Great game, but. Yes this game is a great rendition of the original but I am very disappointed at the complete lack of support from Atari. I had an issue with the game so I raised 4 tickets with Atari support, emailed several times and tried to register with them (I am still waiting for administrator approval to join, what’s that about!). I have now sorted out my problem myself but I am annoyed that I had no response from Atari. It would have been 5 stars otherwise.

Latest update (December 2017) caused bugs still not fixed.. In the December 2017 update, graphics on iPad Pro have been rendered unplayable. Atari have been contacted on numerous occasions and reply with a fix is being worked on. It’s now July, and their latest reply is still that there is no timeframe on the fix. Great game, purchased all in-app purchases, but now is unplayable due to the graphics issues. 11 months on, Atari support are not responsive on this issue. Absolutely disgusting treatment of their customers.

Brilliant!. I am absolutely loving that I can play this again. I have two minor fixes that I'd like to see though. First, it would be great to set admission prices. It is really hard to build a decent park without that income. Secondly, lower the vandalism rates slightly! I seem to be constantly repairing things! Otherwise, this is an amazing port and I'm loving it.

THE BEST (but can be glitchy). I love this game so much but there’s a few glitches. Sometimes the music cuts out and sometimes it won’t let me interact with anything so I have to restart the app. Apart from that no complaints whatsoever. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Amazing. Though expensive. Really good job on porting. Would love access to some kind of in game access to a “workshop” where you can download coasters etc that others have made. That would make this game so worth all the payments needed to have the entire game. Also there’s an audio issue where when the notification panel is brought up or the game is taken off screen and we go back to playing, it’s dead silent with absolutely no audio.

Very fun game but has a couple problems. I used to love playing this game when i was a kid and now i can enjoy playing it again unfortunately it has a couple of problems for example you can’t delete custom parks that you have made so if you want to delete a custom park you made you would have to delete the app and reinstall it and restore purchases which is very annoying recently i was playing my custom park scenario and while i was building the park like making rides adding decorations etc the walls roofs bins benches and fences are gone and I’m unable to do anything to add them though I added them in my custom park can you fix this bug please? And when creating a custom park can you add a function where you press own all land and all 256x256 or you can choose any other number and the land of that amount is owned by you saving you time

If you played the original. DOWNLOAD THIS NOW. I spent hours, days, months, years playing this game since I was young. Even purchased windows for my mac to run this game (yes I know) Even with the launch of RCT3 which I also enjoyed. I still played RCT2 majority of the time over RCT3D I'm so happy this game has come to iPhone. Once again I'm spending hours playing the original I've come to love so much. With the recent bug fixes in place I'm even happier ( the excessive vandalism could be tweaked down a bit though) Overall I'm very satisfied with the iOS version of the game. The only tip/advice/criticism I have... Maybe the possibility of adding your iTunes library to the ride music maybe? Also perhaps a revamp of the original game on iOS/MAC in the near future? 😉😉 and allowing us to cross platform from the iPhone to the Mac so we can play both there and on our phones. Other than that, fantastic game ❤❤❤ Good work guys

Not suitable for iPhone X. Renders things behind the notch. When text I put was requested, keyboard took up the entire screen and couldn’t see what text was input, nor exit the screen

Warning - not compatible with new iOS 14/iPhone 12. I just purchased this game on my iPhone , I had played it previously on a friends phone and it worked great. However it seems the game has not been correctly optimised either for the new iOS or perhaps not with iPhone 12. The ride and construction boxes open on the screen partially off the screen. And the toolbar and close window option are not visible. Have tried contacting Atari on their website but haven’t received a response.

Blast from the past!. I absolutely loved the original of this game! And this is a great substitute for the original pc game. I’ve only played on my phone so far, but will definitely see how it goes in Ipad. (Does it work on iPad?) Anyways totally recommend spending the $10. There’s no in game purchases to make- just solid game play. A little annoying trying to get the land raise/lower to work... and of course it’s quite small and fiddlerly on a phone but again well worth it! I agree, a tap and drag for pathways and a setting that hides scenery and buildings without switching back automatically would be AWESOME! Love the music and then screams. So many memories. So many pizza hot pockets. I can see many many days and weeks spent playing this. Thanks for bringing back a wonderful game!

This is a veery good game and suits iPad os to a tee. I wish every other app on iPad was this good. I’d actually pay more if they were all this decent. If you like RCT then this is the best version and the one you’ll play most. One of the largest selections of levels from rct1,2 and all expansions plus many more maps The devs porting this showed it a lot of love.

Better mouse support. With the introduction of iPads supporting mouse as an input device, it works well however it does have a quirk which I think would be an easy fix. When the mouse cursor hits any edge of the screen, it either auto pauses, cuts the audio or both. The current workaround is to return to the home screen and reopen then it is good to go til you hit the edge. As you can imagine this happens a lot. Please have a look into this as a lot of your users, especially those that grew up with this game will love the mouse support albeit this annoying bug

Everything I Loved made New. So you have taken a gem and made it better. A few of the “old” PC quirks still in place but you have improved so much of the “interplay”. I love the options, scenarios, peeps, and research. I enjoy playing it and love that my kids enjoy it now too. Worth every penny to play without ads etc. What I miss? The autocomplete that you had in some of the new versions of this game on the PC. But that’s it! So well done and thank you all for the hours of fun we have.

Love the game, but poorly optimized. Absolutely love this game but it’s poorly optimized on the iPhone 13 pro. A lot of stuff is cut off with the notch and things in general don’t appear to be thought out well. Also whenever checking notifications or doing anything else on your phone the sound will randomly cut and you have to close & reopen the game. I hope this gets fixed.

Great game, one bug with sound. Awesome game just like the old computer version. However when you have the app open and use the app switching feature (double tap home button), when you return to the app the sound/music is disabled and can't be heard unless you force close the app

Great but needs a small fix. Overall very good and plays pretty much the same as the old desktop version! Lots of fun parks to choose from. Controls take a bit of getting used to but overall we’re implemented very well considering this is originally a PC game. For some reason I can’t get charge a park admission for any of the levels I’ve played so far. Ride admissions work fine but am unable to charge to enter park. Even tried closing park completely and removing all guests. Still unable to change admission price from zero. Not sure what’s going on with it?

Who’s still playing in 2020 ??. Sometimes the sound cops out but I think is because I have a larger phone. Takes me back to when I was a kid. It’s like the only game I can play for hours!

Just like the PC version. Roller coaster tycoon classic is just like the PC version from years ago, unlike the other apps that have a similar name and not the same game. Well worth the money if you played this for hours on a computer. You can also change the admission price after completing a few levels.

IAPs won’t activate. I paid for the first expansion plus the build kit and they will not activate. Apple has processed the purchase, but the app says purchased failed. Can’t use them at all, requesting a refund. What a shame.

Certified Hood Classic. Odd bugs here and there but it’s classic Roller Coaster Tycoon not much to say. I honestly recommend it only if you have a large phone or any tablet!

A ton of nostalgia, wish the aspect ratio was proper on the iPad Pro 11. One of my favourite PC games growing up, brings back tons of nostalgia and is still equally as fun. I enjoy the campaign and the bonus content. Only complaint is the aspect ratio hasn’t been updated to work on the newer all-screen iPad Pro’s, will bump up two stars if every fixed (highly doubtful due to the last update being 2+ years ago).

Great for iPad + Apple Pencil. The UI isn’t the best, It can be tough playing this on a phone. If you have an iPad and an Apple Pencil then it’s perfect.

Buggy and no sandbox mode. Scenery tabs randomly disappeared. I couldn’t place anymore trees or statues. Also, I bought this for sandbox years ago and it doesn’t even have the mode!

Why does it look so bad on newer iPhones?. I just upgraded to an iPhone 13 from an 8 and I played so much of this game over the years. Switching over, the UI is huge! I makes the game look way worse. It also seems so much more pixelated. Please I wish there was a way to make it more playable, I’ve literally bought this game four or five times now on different platforms and I thought it would be so much better with a higher resolution display.

Good but.... I love that the game is an app, however I downloaded the steam version before this for the iMac and it functions way better. Please consider updating to be exactly like the steam version. It has better aspecet ratio (could be a monitor thing), easier scrolling and zooming. Having trouble zooming in and out with this version. Some of the menus you need to hold to drag where as the steam version you can just scroll with your finger. Some of the menu layouts are odd compared to the steam version as well.

A great nostalgic classic with a few missing features. If you're going to recreate a classic make sure you keep every feature. You can't charge admission to the park and any custom rides that are built cannot be modified to be elevated or lowered (they must remain on the ground).

Disappointed. I recently bought RCT, I enjoyed the game when it first came out on PC, so I decided to get it on my iPhone XR. When I loaded into the game I couldn’t see all the buttons I was too zoomed in, hoping someone has a solution, or they fix it. Other than that it’s a great classic

Great purchase!! Don’t listen to old reviews!!!. Was hesitant to buy because of the old negative reviews from people complaining about admission price and corners on newer phones ruining the game. I can confidently say after playing that you can still navigate the ui just fine! So many levels, so nostalgic, overall very happy and so excited to keep playing. If you played it before don’t think, just buy it.

Game is great, a few bugs. Game is amazing! The resolution is lower than I thought but that’s expected from a really old game. It’s still just as fun as I remember. The sound cuts out once in a while because you went out of the app and came back.

Fun. Coaster building scenarios are almost impossible to beat via app, would be nice to have scenarios unlocked because otherwise you’ll never get past coral group, disappointed that the RCT fandom and RCT open scenarios generally don’t work on the app either ..

Nostalgic. I cannot describe how much i freaking love this game- it is basically copy paste exactly the computer game that we all grew up playing and love. 10/10 recommend

Not optimized. Game is good in general. But not optimized for iPhone 12 Pro Max. The screens super zoomed in so I can’t see what’s on the edges, the sound randomly stops working so I have to reset the app. I hope they fix this.

Love it.. But please fix the Three Monkeys park, it will not provide the food stalls until year 3-4 which forces you to fail due to complaints. Thankyou much.

Just like the game we could get in cereal boxes as kids. I love this game. One of the few games I enjoy playing. I had tried the “new” phone version and was dissatisfied with the gameplay, but this one is just like the one you played on your computer as a kid. Very fun. I’m making my way slowly through all the challenges.

The Best It Can Be For A Phone Game.. This version is just as good as the old computer one adding a lot of different features and WAY more maps than I remember. I will say it is a little bit too easy to accidentally pause the game by hitting the edge of the screen. A good feature I don’t think was on my old disc version is you can speed up time up to 4x the speed.

Perfectly Nostalgic. I’m in my late 20’s and grew up playing this game on the PC. It’s almost exactly like the PC version, even down to the hidden Easter eggs of changing guests names. The gameplay is smooth and feels natural on a phone or iPad. Building/terraforming is exactly the same and as fun as ever, although a stylus definitely comes in handy. There’s TONS of levels, honestly more than I remember on the PC version from years ago. Simply put, if you loved the original PC version, you’ll love this. Easily the best game I’ve bought through the App Store.

This is the kind of game I want to see on the App Store. It seems like every game coming out these days is free to play garbage with gameplay revolving entirely around purchased consumables. And with iOS’ switch to 64 bit, many of the paid “full game” apps from the early days of the App Store no longer work. Their developers abandoned them in favor of free to play junk (RIP Simcity Deluxe) This is the real deal, the classic game in its entirety with some nice enhancements for mobile. The in app purchases are added content and not some stupid currency, another plus. This is the only game I play on my iPad these days. Please, App Store developers, make more great games like this!

Just like the original. It's GREAT!. This is the best classic game ported to iPad. I can remember loosing hours and staying up for days when I was younger playing this and now I'm doing the same. It's so close to the original game I feel like they didn't change anything. Which is great. What nice is any RCT2 parks, rides and scenarios work on it to. Just get the tool box expansion and you can import and export many objects. I can think of many other games I hope they do the same with. Next I'd love to see zoo tycoon, sim city 2000, sim tower, the sims and many more. They need to do the same though as this game. Meaning keep the game play and graphics of the old game.

Great port with some interface issues.. I loved the originals growing up and this port to mobile doesn’t disappoint. Pretty much all of the content from RCT 1 & 2 has been faithfully adapted. Sometimes it comes to a fault because the windows are not optimized the best for smaller screens, and since getting an iPhone X, it can be near impossible to see the windows in full or reach the ‘x’ to close them (the ride construction ones in particular). Hopefully, an update may help manage this a bit better? Otherwise, I’m really excited to have a favorite game so ready at hand.

An Exceptional App that Exceeds Expectations. Wow. This app is a carbon copy of the full computer game. I don’t know how they managed to capture every single aspect of this very layered computer simulation game and put it on our small touch screen smartphones. It’s amazing. Nothing falls short. It was worth paying for without a doubt. I can shut down my phone and close the app, and once I open the app again it will be right where I left off in the midst of gameplay. I switched phones without doing a backup and downloaded the app again and it was playing where I left off. This app deserves getting accolades.

RCT2 but on Apple. Thank you devs. This game is beautiful! Feels like your playing the old RCT2 with a few positive changes. I recommend playing on an iPad or something with a bigger screen for a better experience. Anyone new to this series needs to give this game a try. The customization is endless. It is so fun to bounce between scenarios, the toolkit and making your own scenarios. So much nostalgia and no better feeling than creating a roller coaster and watching all the guests ride it. Thank you Chris and devs for this precious childhood gem on the App Store❤️

Not what I Thought. Don’t buy it. I got it for the nostalgia factor. You may think you’ll pass the missions but the game will ensure every ride breaks down at the last minute so your ratings crash and customers leave. You could have 10 mechanics ready to fix the rides but all they do is run around like chickens with their heads cut off. Even when they do manage to fix the ride, it will literally break down again seconds later further causing ratings and profits to drop and customers to leave until you’re left with close to nothing and you inevitably fail. And this is on the easy levels mind you. Truly disappointed in this purchase and want my money back.

Nostalgic Masterpiece. This is almost identical to the original RCT1 and RCT2 games on PC, which I remember playing WAY back when originally on Windows Vista or something… To say I was excited to find this version built for mobile would be an understatement. The game runs GREAT on an iPad, but could definitely be played on a phone as well. Sooooo many hours put in already, and with unlimited potential for play, I’m sure I won’t be stopping anytime soon. 10/10

Nostalgia Embodied. For those like me that can remember loading up Corkscrew Follies onto the old desktop and pouring in the hours, finding this was quite a pleasant surprise. Gameplay has been formatted for the mobile experience but the navigation is practically the same. It can be cramped at times on a phone but it’s still playable. There’s only one aspect that I wish was included, and that’s the sandlot mode where you were free to design your own rides and parks with no restrictions. I can get past that though because this is much more than I ever expected from RCT on mobile.

Broken Parks. I love this game so much, I want to change the rating to a 5 star but I cant until it gets fixed. There are some parks that will crash the game after you’ve played the for 2 in game years. Magic quarters is the worst. My first save of the game I had 2 months left to complete the goal and it would crash every time I went back in to keep playing. At first I thought it was the whole app so I checked for an update, nothing. Tried starting a new save and it was working fine so I thought, great! Well I got 2 years into this one and it crashes just like the other save. Tried again, same thing. So I started a new park and it worked just fine all the way through completion of the goal. PLEASE look into this and fix it!!

Childhood Restored. Loved playing this game growing up with Nickelback at its prime. I would always be so close to completing the series and my dad would uninstall it since I only played in summers. I felt so victorious finishing all the scenarios in this mobile version. My one complaint is that I have NOT been able to buy the in-app purchases. They are not an option in my iPhone app and really bums me out since now that I’ve access to Tycoon Park would like access to the expansions. Please fix this issue. Worth every penny and all the time I’ve put into it too. If you grew up playing this game you’ll love its return!

Great game, but needs some improvement. This version is fantastic. Just like the original. However, it’s missing a couple of key components. Not being able to set a park price means not making money very quickly, regardless of where you set ride prices. Seems I’m always in the red and have yet to see any kind of profit since I started the level, going into year 2. Also, the ability to use the “dig” function to simply clear the grass was a nice feature in the original. I could focus the handymen on cleaning trash and walkways instead of having them waste time mowing the lawn or hiring extra handymen.

A few suggestions. Playing this is amazing and bring that nostalgia back that is undoubtedly the biggest reason I bought the app and it's been really fun for me. There are times when doing a few simple tasks are frustrating because of the notch/island it would be awesome for that to be fixed and some other things be addressed because then this game would be perfect if so. Aside from those inconveniences the game works the way it does on pc and I can't be anything but grateful that it's still around and the community that backs the game up.

Needs improvement. Some of the cleaning and maintenance mechanics, at times, broken. Other times, (even where I try to not hire a single employee), never comes into play. Seriously needs fixing as it breaks many of the included scenarios. Aside from that, the custom scenario creator could DEFINITELY use improvement. As a paid add on you’d think this would add significant replay value to a broken port of a classic game. I was sadly mistaken. You can only play custom scenarios created by friends. Not sure why I assumed there would be any kind of community interested in sharing unique scenarios or playing any of mine. TLDR; Although I love what this app tries to be, I cannot recommend even the base version of the app. Maybe if it was free with ads on the loading screen, otherwise no. Also now, I can't restore my purchases! Thanks you scummy thieves.

Deserves 6 stars of nostalgia. QUICK ASK: Needs update for iPad Pro’s screen size, it looks way more pixelated on new devices (you can compare iPad Pro vs iPad Air and it looks way better on the Air). Will update review if updated (no one answers support or forum) This is possibly the best game ever, I've been waiting for RCT 1&2 since I bought my first iPad many years ago. You really made my Christmas with this, I couldn't expect anything better. RCT is one of my all time favorites and this game is perfect, it has all the fun from the original games, perfect gameplay and graphics. I just can't even describe how happy I feel and how many good memories this game brings me. Just one more thing to say: THANKS!!!

Please update for newer phones. I love this game. I used to play it as a kid and when I saw it on the App Store I knew I had to have it. It brought back the game and all the nostalgia with it. Just a few things. I bought the game back when iPhone 7 came out. However, The last update was 2 years ago. At this time the iPhones had squared screens and no dent for the cameras. The app still assumes it’s a square screen so while it does work, it cuts part of the menus off in on newer iPhones. Either way it is still worth getting as everything still works as intended, however, I would honestly be willing to even pay a small price for the UI update since it’s so old.

The Full Game, but could be a little easier to use. It's the full RCT. Just like the original, it rocks. But please make the menu interface a little larger. It would make the game much easier to use and play, especially when getting into the nitty gritty like assigning zones for workmen/building roller coasters. The game may have everything the original version did, but you can't use it all without struggling. And I'm 23 with 20/20 vision. I can't imagine what it's like playing this with vision impairment or age working against you.

Love this game! 100% Worth it!. Bought this several years ago and have played it soooo much! So nice to have such complete game with zero ads and full game play. Eventually bought the expansion packs which you dont need, but it is fun being able to create your own park scenarios. I definitely prefer game play on my iPad vs phone but both are doable. Doesn’t require internet!! Played on and off for years always come back to it! Would love more old games like this for mobile!

Fantastic game. It’s a classic and just as good as I remember when I played it on PC. I remember when I discovered drowning people on PC and they even brought that to this version. The only issue with this game is that it isn’t optimized for newer iPhones and iPads. Newer devices have more rounded corners and certain buttons are cut off due to that. The dynamic island on the iPhone 14 Pro also cuts off parts of the game. If you want to rename something in the game too, the screen is cut off. I’m hoping that they will fix these issues sometime soon but please don’t let it stop you from playing.

My Childhood, Returned!. When I was in elementary school, I loved to play RTC on my old brick of a computer. This game is an absolute blast from the past for me - in all of its isometric pixelated glory. The only problem I have with it is a minor glitch that sometimes kills the sound effects when I switch back to the app, but otherwise... it's an absolutely flawless port of one of my favorite childhood games. From someone who's super tired of the whole "pay for premium currency to win" method that mobile games seem to do constantly, thank you for porting this game.

Perfect. This is easily the best game I’ve ever downloaded on my phone, it is exactly the same as the RCT / RCT2 games for pc. The phone controls work extremely well, I’ve seen other reviews complaining that they do not fit on newer iPhones, but everything fits and works on my 11 Pro max as of 6/21. This game is absolutely worth $4.99 it is both challenging and intuitive. The environment is timeless, elegant, and the overall gameplay is very satisfying. It is the polar opposite of the rct mobile game released years ago. It is not a “pay to win” game. There are in-app purchases, but they are only for expansion packs, just as you would see in any other game. 6/5 stars

Worth every penny.. I’ve never bought an app before, but I couldn’t resist this. It’s EXACTLY like the old computer game. It’s so much fun. There are so many parks to complete it will definitely provide me with fun for a long time. I’ve already completed several parks and haven’t noticed any bugs or glitches. A lot of people complain about not charging entry fees, but certain parks do it’s all a part of the strategy of the park and what the requirements are to pass it. I definitely recommend it, and I’m so glad that after years of searching I’ve found it in a nice modernized version.

There are so many park options and everything is free!!! I love the never ending ride creations and scene setups!!! I’m always so intrigued when I see the front title page showcasing top park examples, and it would truly make the gaming experience perfect if we could all check out each other’s creations just for fun!! I wish more Tycoon Classics were made for IOS. I really hated all those ‘Tycoon’ style build your own park/house/farm where you are forced to wait forever or pay money to get the gizmos you want. I just want a fun game that I can build neat things and there are no extra charges except the occasional expansion packs. This was one of the first tycoon style games I played on my first computer and I loved building parks. So it was a joy to see it now available for my IPad. It’s easy to use although I still have trouble building roller coasters that are not too extreme (user error!). I hope the makes of Railroad and Zoo Tycoons consider bringing their games to the 21st Century!

Finally. I remember the first time my family computer was too new to run RCT2. I was distraught and asked my parents for a windowsXP desktop JUST so I could play RCT2. Fast forward to Atari going bankrupt and chris saying that his best game ever was RCT. Then they release that pile of crap RCT4mobile. Let’s take everything good about the franchise and switch it out for a pay to play bailout for atari. NO. BAD ATARI. THIS IS WHY YOU WENT BANKRUPT. PAC-MAN WORLD3 WAS A MISTAKE! Then they wised up and did the simplest thing in the world. They ported RCT1&2 to mobile and charged $6. I would have been happy to pay $20 for it. Thank you Atari. Only complaints- First complaint. the game ignores the curved edges on the new iPhones and makes pressing buttons hard. Have to rotate the phone to get stuff done. Second complaint. There is a bug with some rollercoasters and the more you rebuild them the lower the excitement rating drops, which isn’t a problem in most scenarios, but impossible when you are playing the partially built coaster scenarios.

Just buy it.. After being underwhelmed with other roller coaster tycoon games on iOS I wasn’t going to get this one. But after multiple reviews stating that it’s the exact same game as the original pc version I bought it thinking if they’re wrong what’s 7$ really worth in the long run? I was very happy that the reviews were correct and it’s the exact same game. I’ve completed several park challenges in the game and the only down side I can speak of is I’ve killed my battery playing this game so much. If you loved the original as I did then definitely buy it.

It’s the real deal!. This is nearly identical to the old PC game, I am truly impressed. I was never a fan of the 3D of RCT3 so this being available blew my mind. Beat $6 spent on a phone game, if you loved the original RCT back in the day I guarantee you will not be disappointed. My only gripe I have with the game is that the sound is very finicky, if you swipe down to see a notification you lose the sound, and I have to keep closing and opening the app to eventually get the sound to work again. If this bug could be resolved it would literally be perfect. Thank you for porting this to iPhone and iPad!

Fantastic port. I’ve been a fan of this series since I was a kid, so I was super eager to try it out once I found out this was ported to iOS. I was skeptical at first, I didn’t consider how well designed the port could be since the original engine was coded in Assembly. I have pretty large fingers so it took some getting used to on tapping and selecting certain things, but once you get the hang of it, it’s a very smooth experience! So far I’ve completed about 10 scenarios, and there’s a ton more just in the base game! Highly recommended for any fan of the series.

Boy do I love this game, but…. Listen, I love this game. I loved it when it first came out and I love that it made its way to the iPad. Probably one of my all time favs. But, I noticed that when I upgraded to my new iPad from a 9.7” screen (I think) to the new screen, the dimensions and resolution is off and makes the game hard to look at while zoomed out. I know the last update for this game was years ago, but I’m hoping with the introduction of these bigger screens, you’ll go back in and tweak the UI to adjust for the resolution. Other than that, I simply enjoy playing every second of this game.

Great game, terrible optimization. I loved this game on my old phone until I ran out of storage and couldn’t play anymore. I was thrilled to play it on my new phone with higher storage and a bigger display only to find it out it was near impossible to see the corners of the screen. I’m glad it’s full screen, but I can’t reach the parts on the outside of my screen so it makes it hard to play and see things. Definitely would recommend to someone who loved the original game of the computer, but doesn’t have an iphone 10 or higher

This is one of my fav games but is hardly playable sometimes.. The number of hours ive put into this game is impressive, its made far less impressive that I havent broken into amethyst group because of how hardly usable building rides is in game and there are two levels that I cant for the life of me beat because of how obnoxiously annoying it is. I cant get the rides to the right excitement rating and rebuilding land. I can only do it so many times. Im just gonna not play for another year and come back and get this frustrated again. Im on year 5 now. Without these challenges the game would be 5/5. If I could pay to skip these levels I would. I just want to progress even a little bit.

Ported Beautifully. I never thought I would be playing this game ever again, let alone on a cell phone. The game runs very smoothly. The touchscreen control has advantages and disadvantages compared to mouse and keyboard, but is nonetheless user friendly. The only issues are that the buttons in the corners are difficult to click, and the pause menu is shifted all the way to the right. Pausing and resuming the game also mutes all music and sfx, you would have to restart the app to get it back. Despite these minor glitches, this game was worth every penny.

This game was my childhood. This game brought me so much joy when i was a kid, i spent hours playing it daily for years. Every couple years i found myself redownloading this on my pc but now i don’t have to with this app, it’s always with me. I spend so much time now as an adult playing this. Well worth the cost for this app. There are a few bugs though, but nothing terrible enough to make it unplayable. Just wish they would come out with a App Store exclusive expansions or add ons to this. I’d pay for extra stuff.

Timeless design, well treated. Just like the original, runs and plays identical besides touch controls of course. It’s cool carrying a cornerstone from my childhood in my pocket, popping in on my parks or playing for an hour or more like back in the day. Something about it still stands out even in today’s gaming scene, a true masterpiece of game design An option for bigger text and buttons would be nice for iPhone users, and also the sound cuts out when you open notifications, probably the iOS version. Hopefully an update soon

Amazing, but needs to be updated for iphone X. Exactly like the original and just as fun, the UI is pretty intuitive and if you knew the original PC game really well then you'll pick this back up in no time. Really recommend it, it's best when viewed on an Ipad. It does need to be updated for the Iphone X as the margins and menus get cut off by the corners of the screen. Would love to see that fixed! I played the original for years as a kid and was so happy to see someone made it into a legit app. Goodbye to my social life...

Best Game Ever. I love Rollercoaster tycoon the original back in the 90’s. This game takes everything in that game and makes it better and ha super easy user controls(if you have an iPad). The only negative I have is the graphics. While the original PC game started the game with pixelated graphics, you could change to a much smoother looking game by changing graphics. I would gladly pay 20$ to have the option to increase graphic quality for this specific game. But otherwise, if you are an original rollercoaster tycoon fan, BUY THIS GAME.

A CLASSIC!. Great game. I used to play in PC when I was younger for HOURS! Lol… I wish they would make the RCT2 for IOS though.. the whole “no entry fee” into the park is a tad frustrating and/or they should update so you can add more colors for your “queue lines” also should add the “ATM” aspect to it also, im honestly not sure if they had it in RCT2 but I could of swore they did.. other than some minor and I mean a MINOR adjustments to this IOS version of the game, it’s honestly just GREAT. I still play and it hasn’t gotten hold for me yet (KNOCK ON WOOD) lol. I do hope to see RCT2 in the near future for IOS tho for “FREE”.

iPhone X issues. I recently got an iPhone X and when i opened the game there were some issues. The windows that open when you go to build a ride are to large and parts can be hidden because of the top bar of options or the bottom bar of options. When you got to name anything the area that displays the name you are writhing is off the screen. I guess what I’m trying to say is some of the proportions are off tending to be to large making it hard to maneuver during game play. If you could address this you’d be super awesome! Other then that this is still one of my favorite games ever!

Finally!! A near-perfect mobile version. This is by far the best mobile port of any game I've played. It stays true to the original in every way: sounds, parks, graphics, etc. but adds touch controls perfectly. I remember the game being much harder when I was 11 so maybe I've just gotten better at the management aspect of the game, but the scenarios do seem a little easy. Still lots of fun though and totally worth the price. My only complaint is that cloud syncing doesn’t seem to work consistently. I’ll create a park on my phone, save it, then go to my iPad and it’s not there. I’ve tried force-closing and relaunching the app but it doesn’t seem to sync.

Just like the classic 1 and 2 by Chris sawyer…cough cough the real genius behind this game. With the stain Atari has put on the legacy of roller coaster tycoon, it’s a shame in order to download this app you have to give your money to a company that turned the beloved roller coaster tycoon into a poor excuse of a franchise. With games like roller coaster tycoon touch, And let’s not forget the the game Atari tried so hard to sweep under the rug…roller coaster tycoon world. Moral of the story, I’d recommend solely playing the original 1,2,3 roller coaster tycoon games, rct 3 mobile, or planet coaster, and unfortunately this game.

This needs to be an Essential App. This is, by far, the best game on the app store hands down. Chris Sawyer took his iconic Roller Coaster Tycoon games, classics from the glory days of PC gaming, and perfectly ported it to mobile with a new control style that doesn't take away gameplay at all. The controls and UI are very easy to learn, and everything from RCT 1 & 2 are in this one package, with the toolkit and new rides & scenarios as DLC. Don't buy Super Mario Run, buy this instead. You will have the best time of your life building your own amusement parks on the go.

Amazing, nostalgic, offline game!. This game really brings me back to my childhood, I’d come home from school and play this on the pc! This game is the exact same as I remember it, right down to the nostalgic music! There are even more options for rides, decor, etc. Customization is much improved! Easy game to play and understand and YES it is OFFLINE, so you can play it anywhere anytime! Thank youuuuu! I love that we can still see what the guests are thinking, then you know what they like and what they need. Thank you so much for this game, I am a very very happy customer, 5 Stars!

Oh yeah, I had a childhood!. This game is great. Reminds me everything of what I did as a kid. The price is so worth it. Even having to pay additional money for the add ons? Worth it. No complaints at all. Thank you for bringing this to the phones. One thing, and I'm not sure if it's the app or my phone. There's no sound anymore for me. Everything else on my phone works fine except this game. Completely silent, so I assume it's the app. Could anyone help me figure this out or if y'all could fix it. Thanks! I'll never delete this game.

Still the best game ever. This app is absolutely perfect. I was so excited years back when this made its way to the App Store, and it lived up to my expectations (which were very high based on my years playing the original). Have been playing consistently on this app since it was released. I never write app reviews but was browsing in the App Store, and had the thought “still years later nothing is ever even close to possibly living up to this.”

Awesome, except. This is probably one of the best simulators on the App Store to date (not that there are many good App Store simulators). It brings back the original RCT feeling, with all its customizations. The one and only problem I have with this game is that the UI is just TOO DANG SMALL! I understand that the game isn’t really optimized for iPhones, but at least UPDATE it! It gets really annoying to try and touch the buttons, even with my small fingers. I have an iPhone 6, and it’s one of the biggest drawbacks from me playing it constantly. I hope they will update the game to optimize it for iPhones, because I can barely click the UI.

Perfect in EVERY WAY.. I literally NEVER write reviews for apps, but I just wanted to say thank you so much for making this app. Not only was it worth every penny, but I feel like it’s the actual computer game I have so many memories attached to!! It’s the perfect balance of hard but manageable. Also, there is nothing annoying in it like it seems like there is in every other app today. This is like an old school game, no gimmicks, and I am OBSESSED. Thank you for not being overly greedy and listening when people said they wanted this. There are good people in the world still!!! 💗💗💗💗💗

Restore Purchases Failing for Months. This game absolutely deserves a 5 star review. It's nostalgia fuel exactly as you'd expect, which is great. Unfortunately, there are some serious issues with the in-app purchases not restoring as they should. On my iPad, I was able to restore both the expansion packs, but not the Toolkit. On my iPhone, I can't restore any. I can attempt to re-purchase via the app, but thankfully the App Store recognizes that I've already purchased and asks if I'd like to purchase again for free. This also does not restore the content, on either device. Atari's website doesn't offer a clear path for support for this app, so I'm leaving this review in the hopes that anyone there checks the inbox this ends up in. Please help fix this, I feel quite awful about giving a poor rating to one of my favorite games of all time. :-( It wouldn't hurt to fix the resolution on the XS Max either, if you're going to be squashing bugs and making improvements. The game looks extremely pixilated on that screen, to the degree that most people would not play it if that was their only device. ^^

PLEASE FIX THIS!!. Everything is true to the original game the only thing I want changed is to be able to hold down the button to increase prices, loans, entrance fees and things like that. At the moment you have to click the button each time to increase it. Also being able to buy land without individually clicking each tile. Would be nice to click and drag over the land you want to buy. **Can you please make it so I don’t have to click each time I want to buy land!!! I’ve purchased the tool kit expansion so I can make my own scenarios and it’s so annoying to try to make your own park by selected what land you own by I individually clicking. I know you can increase the square so it’s 10x10 but please make it so you can click and drag or something!!!! Same goes for the loans. If I increase the loan amount in a scenario to 500,000 when I actually play the scenario I have to click the button each time instead of just holding it down. 2 easy fixes but it’s been over a year and neither have been fixed. PLEASE FIX THIS

Great game!. I’ve played this game for years and can’t believe I found it in the App Store! There are a few quirks to get used to but I picked it up quickly. My one and only complaint is that ALL the parks are FREE entry. Where am I supposed to make my money?? You charge and entry fee, give the smaller rides free entry and charge a few bucks for the bigger roller coaster rides. It makes it very difficult to achieve goals when it takes 4 months to be able to afford a new ride. PLEASE FIX THIS!! The free entry is the only reason I’m not giving this 5 ⭐️s. Great game otherwise. Totally worth the $ to purchase the App.

Favorite Game Ever. I've always loved these types of games since I was younger and love that I'm now able to play the original on my iPad as an adult. I play this game non-stop, for months now. As much as I love this game, I wish there were more rides to chose from. Eventually the attraction research stops and there aren't anymore rides to chose from, so it puts a limit on how much your park can grow. Also, I wish there were more paths, landscaping options, thrill rides, gentle rides and stalls. The game runs excellent and almost never crashes. Thank you and please consider my review! :)
