Not worth it. I would play this game all the time if the app version was like the browser version & let you choose maps other than the whole freaking world. Even so, I love the game so much I paid $3/month and stuck to the browser version, until it got so gd glitchy I couldn’t take it anymore. I’ll be walking along and then suddenly it freezes, I have to refresh & the map starts over or disappears. Sometimes you can double click far ahead on the map to move quickly forward, but other times you can only use the arrows to inch forward, which is not fun when the game drops you in the middle of nowhere. If you come to an intersection of more than 2 roads, the arrows overlap & it’s impossible to go in certain directions. The audacity to charge a subscription fee & provide paying customers with either an incredibly limited app or a clunky, glitchy browser game. I’m a huge map nerd & I adore the concept, but I just canceled my subscription because the execution is so bad. If they add all the features to the app, I’ll give them my $3.00 again.

Fun way to travel during COVID. This game has done wonders for my wanderlust during lockdown. Getting to see parts of the world we’d never see otherwise... we play by one of us casting the game from an iPhone to the TV while the other has the laptop who can research clues. We’ve managed to earn enough points to unlock many of the maps avaialable. It’s a shame though that some countries are not part of the world map. Would love to see more of Japan, Central America, NZ, and the Middle East/Turkey. Overall one of my favorite games though!

Scammed out of my money. I really love playing geoguesser. However they made it so you have to pay to play the game. I just bought a $25 giftcard on my phone so I bought the yearly one for $24 I bought it and it said you’re all set. I played one game and it said come back in 23 hours... I checked my account and I had $1 left on it. It didn’t give me the yearly premium version and I lost $24. Could’ve used that money for food or water but I guess this app can just steal it from me🤦‍♂️ I really don’t get it. I just want to play the game without having to pay. This is as a waste of money and definitely would not recommend anyone to play unless you tryna lose a good amount of money.

Don’t waste your money. This game used to be a lot of fun that I would play for years where you could pass some time by being able to play unlimited games for free and unlocking specific geographical areas after collecting a certain amount of points. Unfortunately, I’m going to have downgrade my rating of the recent update of this app two stars. The main reason is because you only get three unpaid games per mode you want to play but if you want to unlock the full version of the new update, you have to pay a fixed monthly fee of three dollars per month. I would understand if the game implemented a one time fee, but I really don’t think it is worth paying a monthly fee for a simple geographical guessing game. If you religiously play this game every day, then maybe the $3.00 per month might be worth it, but for someone just looking to pass some time every now and then, I really don’t think the payment is worth it.

Love this game but...... Great game but a few glitches take the fun out. First, many times it won’t let me move around at all so it’s very hard to figure out where I am. Don’t drop us at a place where the map won’t advance us please. Also, sometimes it accidentally marks a spot as my final answer and ruins the game for me like tonight you dropped me on a bridge and it wouldn’t let me move but I was planning to guess and I opened the map and it marked a spot for me then told me I was wrong and my guess was actually right so I got mad...grrrr, lol. My only other complaint is it tends to choose the same location a lot. I’ve been dropped off at the Louvre at least 7 times now. But I still love this game 😊

Good for on-the-go geogussr. It’s fun and very similar to the browser version. If you don’t have pro you can only play a game every 8 hours. But you can also play the “infinity” mode that gives you 5 rounds. Fun for practice when the browser version isn’t accessible. One qualm I have with the app is that sometimes when you play the country streak multiplayer mode, you will get a glitch; the glitch is when you correctly guess the country with enough spots and go to the next round but the screen says “waiting for the next round to start” when it has already begun. You are not able to put your guess anywhere but can move around and end up being out even if you knew the country. It’s very annoying and has cost me many points!

Fun but has problems. When you click the flag to return to the start point it doesn’t save where you were looking on the map, it resets everything. So you have to go back to the map and try to find where you were just looking. I have to remember where I’m at before I click back to the start point and then try and find it all over again on the map. Also the compass does not make any sense at all. If I’m looking straight north with the red pointer straight up and I turn to the right, which should be east it moves in the opposite direction. The compass needs to rotate in accordance with which way you are turning

Really tests your powers of deduction. I play global places and often there are scant clues. But with reasoning over vegetation, shadow direction, poverty level, and other tiny clues you can get to a continent if not a country. Stronger clues can get closer (a road sign or a phone number). A lot of fun. Wish - the next game is 24 hours so inevitably the time of play slips later day by day. Make the next game 15-20 hours. With more play, finding some serious bugs. After a game play, the next scene is from the game just played although the new game is somewhere else. Also, the game sometimes drops a pin and finishes the game uncommanded spoiling the whole set of 5 games.

Good but not great competitive mode. I like the time pressure of the Battle Royale mode, I can spend 5-10 minutes trying to make the perfect guess when solo. I don’t like that you can’t look around after guessing correctly though, especially when you get it 20 seconds before others do. Boring. It’d also be cool if the BR mode showed the actual map location after each round, not just the country name. Even though I’m having fun and learning a lot, I don’t think I’ll continue with a subscription (I’m in the trial period). I’d pay $5-$10 up front, but not $3/mo. Doesn’t seem like a “live service” app to me.

Fun and challenging. Changing my rating and review because the most recent update corrected the issues I was having. I’m now able to play without having to close and restart the app after each game. I like the challenge and competition of battle royale. It’s quick which makes it great for when you need to waste some time. The addition of single player is nice cause it’s a bit more relaxing while still giving a puzzle-like experience. I don’t really like the subscription based model so that’s why I only gave 4 stars.

Great, but horrendously monetized. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS. Maybe it seems reasonable that this basically needs to be paid to be playable (there’s pretty much no content whatsoever if you don’t pay due to the insanely low per-day round availability), but it used to be that geoguessr was free to play. Then, they got greedy and monetized it so hard that it only resembles a shell of its former self. A great concept, but the sheer greed of the developers makes me hate this. Honestly it’s just not worth it to pay. Please, just don’t be greedy. You’re ruining a good game for everyone else. I wouldn’t even mind, personally, if you put occasional ads to monetize. Just get rid of the pay-to-play.

Geoguessr - lots of fun. Elegant concept: you are placed somewhere in the world in Google Streetview, and need to figure out where you are. You set the rules and the time limit, or can play competitively. If you’re just competing against yourself, you can set the rules: for example, do you just go by the general look of your surroundings, or limit yourself to evident languages and street signs, or ask for help from old Professor Google? Your call. There are multiple games within the game, corresponding to countries or cities. However, you need to earn your way into these by racking up points. You start out with a general “The World” game, which is fairly hard. Lots of country roads in the middle of nowhere. It’s worth it to “unlock” additional games, using the points you’ve earned. Warning: it’s addictive!

Lots of fun- lots of empty roads.. Seriously I never realized how much of the world is bare blank empty roads lined with various shades of green and brown. So yeah you can tap for a looong time before you find a clue. But once you get that little bit of information- a language, a highway number, a road sign- then it gets addicting. If you land in rural Russia and don’t read the language then yeah you’re done for. There a tendency to repeat certain places a lot... Russia, Canada, Brazil... it’s almost as if they’re enormous countries or something. But one time the game put me in a small Canadian town in front of a building with a Canadian flag and a map of the town! Ya just never know. One thing I would like is some indication of how far you’ve traveled from your previous location. After tapping my way through Alaskan wilderness for awhile Ive likely lost track of distance and have no idea where I am in relation to the original drop point.

A Sad Ending to this App. I am a high school student who made it a tradition to play with one of my better friends after school, right before practice. It was a way for us to laugh and enjoy being together while having fun. Unfortunately, yesterday I went to play with him and had to update the app. Now that the game is pay to play we can’t play anymore and it is just depressing. There’s a reason the phone app had a better review than the game on the computer. I know you guys will probably make more money now but the image of your company has been stained. I hope that this was a necessary addition for the company because if it was optional, you guys missed completely. (btw these guys don’t respond to criticism comments about the subscription because they don’t care. It’s saddening)

Pretty good, but. . . .. More variety in locations is needed. When playing the "World" map, you end up in a Scandinavian country (often Sweden), Brazil, or Russia with disproportionate frequency. I have lost count of the number of times I have been in Brazil. The same is true for the "Major Cities" map, just add Tokyo and some city in Mexico to the mix. I have not played the other maps, so I do not know how they compare. Location issues aside, I really enjoy the game. It is fun to see different places around the world and decipher where you are from clues such as road signs, website addresses, languages on signs. Overall I recommend getting this game. It is even worth spending a few dollars to play additional maps.

Just a few issues. I love the hell out of this app! I just have a few suggestions. First, can we have the option of "anywhere but Russia?" It's just such a huge area, and unless you're really comfortable with the Cyrillic alphabet, you have to just guess. Second, because you have to constantly tap the screen to move, can you hide the little flag that sends you back to where you started? I've been very frustrated after 10 minutes following a road and accidentally bumping the flag while shifting my hands. Besides that (and the occasional crash), I love the game and I play it every day!

Good idea, needs work. An interesting idea, this is a moderately addictive game. It’s only marred by user interface problems, and the fact that it will occasionally crash when running in the background and cause me to lose hours of work. It desperately needs either a rework of the user interface, or pop-up confirmation dialogs for the return to initial location button and the green button in the lower right. Also, It would be nice to have it save games so that you could at least to recover a little of what you’ve done after it crashes. It would also be nice if you could control movement with a single tap instead of a double tap. Edit: deleted game after the third time I got to picking the location on the last round and it exited the game and I lost all my progress. It seriously needs an “Are you sure?” function.

Great game. GeoGuessr is a fun and addicting game that makes you want to learn. I have learned more than any other game with GeoGuessr. It’s simplistic design makes it easy to navigate. It’s easy to learn but hard to master, making it a game that’s you’ll never get tired of. You can unlock more maps over time and having higher skill gives you higher reward to get the new maps. The only problem is that some of the maps are very low quality. That happens a very low portion of the time because the maps are constantly being updated with Google Streetview. I recommend this to anyone and everyone because its a fun and engaging game.

Fun but it stops in the middle. This is a really fun game and helps pass the time, but if you have to step away at all, even if you pause, it’ll delete your progress a lot of times, which is really frustrating. Like if you’re at 3/5, you can stop for ten minutes and then it’ll put you at the beginning and say you’re out of free games eve though you never finished the other game. Other times, you can pause for hours and it’ll still be waiting for you. So the fact that it’s not consistent is even more frustrating. But losing my game and having to wait for the next day when I just went to take a shower or something is super frustrating. But the actual game is so fun!

A FREE game no more. Epic Failure. This was free FOR YEARS with the exception of paid upgrades like cities. Bet the people who paid for those upgrades are downright furious that you deleted the content they PAID for in hopes that new users won’t realize this was a FREE game before they found it. You literally added features NO ONE wanted or asked for and added a pay to play model that the WORLD HATES but gives us no choice around…oh wait, there is! Identical copy cat games that are STILL free to play and good old fashioned capitalists that offer premium apps for a SINGLE PURCHASE PRICE WITH FREE UPDATES…you know the way the world USED TO WORK just fine before reset elitists decided to nickel and dime everyone into poverty?! These devs have sold out and should be ashamed of themselves DELETED

Mostly okay. I didn’t mind paying to play because I am interested in the game and enjoy looking for clues. My only suggestions would be to: 1) Not ghost the clues, especially on those games where you drop pin on a random dirt road in any country. I could literally move forward or backward for 30+ minutes without any clues at all because the creator of that particular game ghosted ALL license plates and signs. 2) If you are going to drop pin in the water, make sure that the game can still move somewhere. If all we can do is rotate in place and can only see what, a few low mountains, and some ice, how are we to get clues to figure out that this was Denmark and not somewhere else..like Canada? 3) Some of your games are not coded for the arrows to point in the right direction, which slows movement down. Several time there was NO arrow indicating that I could move in a certain direction but still could move. These do get frustrating when it happens over and over, country after country, game after game, especially with a cost attached. Like I said, I don’t mind paying. Just wish the quality was better so I wouldn’t feel slightly ripped off.

This used to be great. I really liked using this app, the places where I landed were so fascinating to explore, plus I really enjoyed using deductive reasoning to guess close to the actual location. Unfortunately now there the only option is to compete against other players which is not an option I will ever pay for but I would have paid for the app in the original single player version. Please bring back the original, thank you.

Fantastic game, that freezes too often. When I first discovered this game I was intrigued. Once I played it I was hooked! It is so fun to see the various parts of the world and it’s crazy how you notice things that you never would if you were just casually walking around in the given place - that’s the truly amazing thing about this game. However, despite how fantastic and amazing this game is, I frequently run into a problem (almost every time I play now) where the Street View just freezes on me and I have to abandon all the progress I’d made during that round. If it only happened occasionally, I probably wouldn’t be even writing this review and I’d be playing GeoGuessr instead. Sadly it happens far too often.

A few glitches in iOS 11, but still fun and educational. This game feels like a game I will be playing the rest of my life. It’s super addictive, but only because you start to get good at recognizing different places. It has even caused me to start analyzing roadsides in movies and TV shows! My only reason for 4 stars is that sometimes there is a block of blurred images or blackness which persists in the same part of the field of view and never resolves, even when I move to different places on the map or . I’m not talking about the google maps blurring, which stay with the objects. You can’t force quit the app and then resume a game, so I don’t know how to get rid of it.

Great Game Annoying Problems. This is a great game, but you can only play once every 24 hours unless you pay for unlimited. I feel like they could put ads in and we could play multiple times while they still make money but whatever. There is a problem that I have run into now a few times. Whenever I have internet issues or the game won’t connect, the game just kicks me out and I have to wait another 24 hours. Understandably this is frustrating but there is an easy fix. just put in ads. Other than that it’s a fantastic game.

Why. So, usually never go out of my way to write reviews, and debated this for a long time, but people need to know this. I played Geoguessr for about 3 months, and I absolutely loved it. Until, that is, it became pay to play. One day I logged in to play and it said I needed to pay for a premium account. This upset me a lot especially since, me being underage, I would have to ask my parents for a premium account. I’m aware they offer the 2d, one map world, but that takes the fun out of all of it. I know companies need to make money somehow, but I feel this wasn’t the right way to go about it.

DEVS PLEASE READ!!! PASS AND PLAY. MORE MODES/MAPS. ❤️❤️❤️. This is an awesome game, i’ve been playing for about 1 year now, and i’ve got really good, and it’s taught me lots! I just wish the mobile version included the same amount as the browser version, you can’t explore or create new maps. You can’t do distance battle royale, state streak, etc. I also realized that with the battle royale update... You discontinued Pass & Play, and I really enjoyed playing that w/ friends and family As a geography nerd, and geoguessr fanatic, I would truly appreciate if you added this/ added this back. To a better future, For the Love of Geoguessr. Thanks!

Really? You went from free to pay to play?. I have been playing this game for YEARS I loved it! But now you can only play 3 games!!!!??? The. You have to pay to play the game? That’s just plain wrong at least let the game be playable without a premium membership! Not just 3 games and leave! That is just ridiculous! 30$ a year and 3$ a month? Really? Maybe if it was lower I would not complain but that is just unnecessary for a game that’s been free for years i would not mind paying for the better version but monthly or yearly fees is just dumbfounding me I will pay a one time payment like maybe $20 for full game forever but 30$ a year is just astonishing for a game that’s been free for years now you have to pay just to play?

Be honest up front. What seems to be an interesting app with one BIG caveat: unless you only want to play once a day, ONCE, this is an app that you have to pay $2.99 per month to play. A bit less if you pay for a year. C’mon developers just be honest UP FRONT. Why make us download THEN hit us with the pay-to-play crud? You can play 1 game (5 parts in each) per day! Had no idea after reading the app description. Also please note: YOU NEED TO BE VERY VERSED IN FOREIGN LANGUAGES TO DO WELL WHEN PLAYING. If not many of the games will be very difficult and take much too long to get even a remote clue as to where you’re at. Interesting app but not well advertised or described in the App Store.

Wait, what?. I absolutely used to love this game and I’d play it for hours just exploring different places and working hard to unlock new maps. I take a break and come back to a subscription service??? What happened, devs? I wouldn’t have minded if you made it ad-supported or needed to outright buy the game, but I’m not going to pay for it every single month. From the look of the reviews I’m certainly not alone in this either. Maybe you should listen to those people who supported you from the start, devs, instead of turning this into a greedy cash grab like virtually every other game on the market. Otherwise I think you’ll find you’re losing more money than when this game was free…

Subscription ruined the game. If I had a way to play the game without paying for a subscription, I’d probably go that route. You don’t have to force ads, just give me the option to watch for another free game so you get revenue. By game I mean 5 rounds, you guys seem to think game = round. I feel cheated for being promised 5 free games just for it to be 1 free game. Game is really really cool but idk how many times I’m gonna go back to play just two games before I delete the app altogether since you don’t really want me to spend much time on it. Edit: weak response, not all of us are in a position to pay for a subscription but some of us are willing to support through watching “incentivized” ads. I wanted to play this to pass time while I wait for my new job to start. If you would’ve acted like my suggestion was worth something, (or even told me why you guys don’t want to go that route) I’d keep the game and even consider getting the subscription once I’m in the position to.

Horrible update. Me and my mom love playing this game together on our phones. We’re not very geographically savvy so this game is really just a way for us to pass the time and learn a thing or two. However, this update completely ruined that for us. The single player mode was completely replaced with battle royale mode which is something me and my mother are not interested in at all, we just want to explore and have fun, not compete against others. Additionally you have to now pay to play on a phone, which is fine with us, but not if it’s just a mode we don’t want to play. I’m not sure why they completely replaced the app version instead of putting both modes up and letting the user lock what they want to do. We will both be deleting this app and finding a new one that is as similar to geoguessers single player mode.

My Favorite Game!! But Needs Alternate Sign-In. I’ve been a long time player of this game and it is my absolute favorite game. However when I created my account on the web browser version, I signed in using Google or Facebook (I can’t remember which lol). But recently I paid for a pro account after the free version change. It is totally worth the money but I can’t sync my maps to my phone because I can’t sign in using the alternate options. Is there a way around this? The mobile version is still amazing otherwise!

App is broken now. I have a pro subscription, and I play on desktop every single day (Daily Challenge = 165 day streak). But sometimes I liked to sit in front of the fireplace and play a couple Infinity rounds or whatever. Infinity mode doesn’t work at all now. As soon as I hit the Start button, the app crashes. Also tried to go back to a couple “ongoing games” classic maps and the app crashes as soon as i try to zoom in on the map. The game is unplayable at this point. It makes me sad. I’m not sure if competitive modes still work, as I’m not willing to let my rating take a hit to check it out. Please fix!! I’m addicted to this game and don’t want to only play it at my desk in an uncomfy chair! (2 stars because it used to be amazing but now nothing works)

disappointed. don’t download this. well its up to you but don’t download this. a lot of reviews were from a long time ago whenever you could do what the game was actually made to do. which is guessing where you think a random location is. but no they had to change it to where you can only play 3 times a day. BUT DON’T WORRY THEY HAVE AN OVERPRICED SYSTEM TO WHERE YOU CAN HAVE UNLIMITED GUESSES. its really annoying I wish they could change this but they won’t cause almost everyone that makes games forces you to pay to play the game correctly. but. 2 stars it used to be a good game and it still is. but you can play only 3 times.

Great game but u can make it a lot better. It’s one of my favorite video games but I hate that you can do a few games a day or pay. I think a great solution to this is you make a type of in-game money that you can get it by buying it or doing challenges and with the in-game money you can buy more categories. I think a lot more people will play the game because some players are free to play. In conclusion you’ll (company that the game) get money because more people download the app and non free to play players buying the in-game money. I’m pretty sure some people agree with me so if you can do it plz do it

The update ruined the game. If I could downgrade to a previous version I would. Sure, it was missing some modes and features, but the game was straight forward, very fun to play, and free. Now they limit you to 3 free games and if you want to play more than that, they charge you a monthly $3 subscription to play unlimited. I could understand paying a fixed fee in order to download the game as a whole but $3 a month in order to play? You think this little game is so good that people will pay ~$30 a year for a simple game like this when other free copycat versions already exist in the marketplace? I don’t know if they’re greedy or just clueless.

Great family time. We love the game. It’s the only app that I’ve ever paid monthly for and it’s well worth it. We play as a family and it’s great critical thinking practice for our 10 year old- using context clues to solve problems. The only complaint I have is that every third location we end up somewhere in Georgia (USA). We’ve got a giant country with plenty to explore and, quite frankly, I’m sick of Georgia. And if it’s not Georgia, we end up in Florida. If we don’t start getting more variety, I may go back to the free rounds.

Clearly all about the money. So I’ve been playing GeoGuessr since about 2016 when it was a random website online. It was just the original mode of the game and it was great. The app came out and had all these additional modes - which were all paid and all garbage. Now with the last update they have made you pay monthly even for the original game mode. Monthly?!? Such greed. Who cares about challenge mode and country steak mode. Those are just fancy facade for making you pay. The original game is a lot fun but not worth $3 per month or $24 per year. I would have bought it for a modest one time fee… such greed. 😤

Save your time, just use the browser version on your phone. Obviously the app is going to be limited in what it can do but there's not nearly the same features as on the website for both pc and mobile. but i hate that the app forces you to be in landscape all the time. if they could make it portrait mode work on browser, it doesn't make sense for it to not work in the app. the other thing i don't like is that you don't have the full menu in the app like you do the browser. you can't even access custom maps on this app

horrible update bring back pass and play. hi uh i loved this game so much i played it with family everyday but then after the update you only got 2 free games to play and that is horrible and i’m not going to pay money because i loved it and wanted to play it for fun and FREE. To play the pass and play where you can play with people you know on the same platform where you each get random places and you get to choose where to play with friends and family and it was fun but now you guys removed it and made it that you had to PAY to play and i’m not going to do that all i want is for it to be free and so you don’t have to pay to play unlimited which is what you could of done before for FREE and you used to have the pass and play mode. So this update lost the love for the game.

Game is great but there’s many glitches. The first glitch is levels not even loading. The second glitch is the street view camera glitching, stretching and bugging. And the final error is when playing on an iPhone that doesn’t have a home button, swiping up to exit the app while in a game will cause you to waste a guess on some occasions due to the markers being at the very bottom of the screen. It’s super annoying and will even happen when I scroll up in street view.

Huge bug. Unfinished games doesn’t work. Puts you back at location 1/5 even though it says 2/5 or 3/5 in the top corner. Then if you guess the location of 1/5 it will still think you are at the one you should be at. This happened twice in one game. 1st location i got right it was new zealand. 2nd and 3rd i got right as well. 4th I knew was somewhere in washington but then I had to go do something so i took a break. I come back, hit unfinished games and there I am in new zealand again - same location as map 1 - and I can move freely around, yet it says map 4/5. I guessed new zealand but then it says im actually in washington US like I initially thought, thousands of miles away. 0 points for that one. Next map is somewhere in Asia. I move around a bit then I have to go do something again. I come back, hit unfinished games and im in that same spot in new zealand yet again. So I guess south korea because I learned from my mistake (apparently didnt learn enough though because the same bug happened twice) and it says i was in tokyo, got like 2000 points because i had to rely on the small amount of info i gathered before i had to take a break.

Unclear “cheating” policy. I paid for a pro account and was banned for “cheating” without warning. The game itself is good, but their “cheating” policy is incredibly flawed. Everyone has access to the internet and will look up signs on Google to help them narrow down their location. So, basically, everyone is “cheating” in this game, but if you happen to make another player angry for being a better “cheater”, they can report you and you will be unjustly banned. The support staff is likewise incredible rude and condescending to their paid subscribers. It hurts to see that such an excellent game is ruined by such a flawed policy and lack of customer service.

Great game, a few suggestions. This is a very good game, I’ve never had problems with glitches, there are no ads and it’s easy to navigate. I have a few suggestions/complaints 1. When you run out of tickets or free play could you please include an option to watch an ad for more? I tend to play this game then run out of tickets and get off when I would have kept playing longer. 2. I play this to help me learn geography, when you fail a round it just sends you back to the trail without telling you where the place actually was. That makes it a lot harder for me to learn from my mistakes or improve. Anyways those are just my thoughts, I hope you take them into consideration. The biggest collapse in game app history.. Ok….so, I hadn’t played this game in two months due to distraction with other apps that I had uploaded….but I always kept it in my IPad for a rainy day. So, I decided to turn on my Geoguessr app to get reacquainted and have some fun. It was a game that always tapped into my OCD, investigative nature. I turn on my app….and am greeted by some gate-keeping horsesh#t that wouldn’t allow my to play unless I gave a password, e-mail and my first born. Which leads me to believe that the devs have altered the game towards a commitment-cash grab. Guys….what was the point? So that you could sap more money from people who adored your game even though I paid money for add removal months ago? Which means that you guys actually stole money, right? It would be serviceable for ALL developers to announce to their fans prior to a corrupt decision to simply say “Attention players! We’ve decided to bend you over and bleed your wallet at the same time!” Just some advice, guys.

Update is Bollocks. I used to love this app before the update and would have given it 5 stars. I unlocked 7 different maps and it was a ton of fun. Now with this update it has removed all of the maps I have unlocked and has given you only 2 options, battle royale (or battle bull**** as I call it) and the whole world. No more major cities, or regions I was interested in getting into. I spent many hours unlocking those maps. Beyond that, now you can only had 3 games a day without pouring out money in a subscription plan. Absolutely ridiculous. At least if you want to make money, just show an add every 3 rounds if you want. This is greed by the developers trying to railroad you into paying for their dumb subscription. If there was a way to revert to the old version I would. Until something changes I am going to tell everyone I know to stay away. Disappointing GeoGuessr, very disappointing.

BR on mobile is kinda fun, thats about it. I assume a lot more will be added in the future so I’m going to ignore the lack of features and maps in the game. But as for the BR mode, the gameplay and UI could use some changes. First of all, I like how easy the controls are, and the extended timer is nice. However, we should be able to move around while waiting for the next round. Also we should be able to see a list of players and their guesses maybe in a side bar that maybe you can toggle open and closed, especially after you’ve already made it to the next round or been knocked out. Finally I think we need a stats page. Overall it’s a good start for the BR mode, I look forward to future updates.

What the heck!. I loved this game but don’t play often. I haven’t played in a while so was very disappointed when I opened it to kill some time and maybe open a new map and encountered the update. I really liked being able to sit with a friend of mine for hours and wander through the maps. I liked being able to pick smaller regions than the whole freaking world. If they wanted to switch to a paid version they should have made a new one with some extra fun features that you couldn’t get in the original version and let the original alone for those of us who are more casual users. I wouldn’t even mind paying a 1 time fee of a few bucks but this whole subscription crap for everything is getting out of hand.

Ruined it. This was an incredible game at first, although the options of gameplay were limited. Of course, even though it’s understandable that they’d need money to have this running without ads, it’s easy to just have microtransactions in the background for new powers or features that you can buy. Many games have been ruined when the developers decided that in order to keep it running, the players need a subscription. Subscriptions are the WORST form of purchases that can be available for a game that is free to play originally. A one-time pass is good to have in the background, but it shouldn’t be a subscription, because those are just terrible ways that developers show how greedy they are. You guys ruined this game and while I did originally have fun, it’s been ruined by your new decision. Even if you revert things it’s likely many people won’t come back, as they’re likely playing one of those free-to-play ripoffs of this that are almost identical to yours.

It stinks atm. Can’t even get into the game. The third mission to start playing the arrows don’t even appear for me to move and continue the mission. So annoying, just wanna play and the geoguessr won’t even let me get through the tutorial missions.

No Daily Challenge. One of my favourite things to do on GeoGuessr is to play the daily challenge. Unfortunately this feature is not available on the app and I’m not really sure why. I would love if this feature would be included in a future update for the app.

Paid option. I hate that you have to pay to play unlimited, but I also understand. Perhaps cut back the time between limited plays from 24 to 12 hours or so. It kind or ruins the game knowing you only have limited plays for a whole day. Still a great game regardless I just don’t want to pay for a subscription.

Really Disappointed With the Recent Update. I used to really enjoy selecting the map to play and browsing around a different country or most specifically choosing London and enjoying working out where I had been dropped. Now there is no choice just dumped anywhere in the world, sometimes inside a building.

Good game. Takes forever to load. This game is great however today when I logged onto play, the maps were taking forever to load - I tried restarting the app and connecting with different networks/hotspots. I was playing on my less than a year old device , so clearly this is an in app issue. I would give this a 5 stars if fixed.

What have you done…. I decided after your failed attempt at forcing Battle Royale on us, I wanted to check and see if you fixed it. Disappointed. I just played this games most recent update with its battle Royale mode addition. It’s a fun game mode, however they have also added their paid subscription to this app as well. I enjoyed this game when it was free, but it is definitely not worth my money

Great game. however I would like to suggest adding the ability to zoom in on the “x locations played” map in infinity mode. Also please consider adding Antarctica to that map (because i received a location there). Great game overall.

Will not open. When I try to open it, it brings up the home screen. But when I try to play the game, it crashes without fail before it even shows me the place. Only thing saving it from a one star review is that I enjoy the game, although I have only played it on other devices because it will not work on mine.

Good until they added a paywall. Fun game, but after a major update they took away your ability to play freely. Unless you pay for a subscription, you are restricted to ONE GAME every 24 hours. Stick to ads like you did before, at least that was less annoying.

Great but.... So I absolutely love this game and have been playing it for months, but since the latest update it has deleted a map that I always use, Major Cities. I didn’t even get a refund or anything so I’m quite annoyed but other than that it’s amazing.

Don’t update if you still have pass n play. Saddest day. Update took away pass n play mode which I happily played with family members for hours. I don’t mind paying but at least give back the game mode that was fun and flexible. Even if I wanted to play battle royale with friends/family there doesn’t seem to be any way to do this right now. If you still have the old version, do not update. New update has now locked in subscription mode if you want more than a few free games each day, and has removed game modes from before. Hugely disappointing and not worth paying for in current state.

GeoGuessr is AMAZING 😍. It is a great geography game where you guess where you are. It can test your geography skills and you can learn some new places ⭐️👍. The camera is blurry and static at times but that is Google Maps fault. I recommend this game for people that need to learn and get tested of geography.😄

Wait time. Pov: ur driving in a car, u decide to play this game. U accidentally click the battle royal mode. So, you click the menu button to go to classic… oh no, u have to wait 24 HOURS TILL YOU CAN PLAY. I get it’s so they can make money, but that’s too long. Super fun and interesting.. It's fun to figure out where in the world you are and pretty interesting to look at so many places I will never see. I like trying to look for 'clues' to see where I am. Sometimes the camera is poorer quality at certain times but that's google's fault anyway. Thoroughly enjoyable yet kind of educational game. I haven't unlocked all the maps yet but when you chose 'world' it seems like half the times it's in North America. That could just be by chance though.

Money hungry. I downloaded this game over a year ago and I used to love playing it but recently they have made it so you have to subscribe to the game to play. Which is a joke. You have to pay $35 a year. If it were a one off payment on $5 I would buy it but getting a subscription is beyond a joke so I deleted it

Great app, but too expensive for what it is. Geoguesser is a simplistic yet the most advanced game, from sitting on your coach with a phone in your hand you can be placed anywhere in the world from central London to the Australian outback. A great game but way to expensive for what it is. $4.50 a month is way overpriced for something as small or simple as geoguesser, an app made by google from the appstore. Making us pay a monthly payment in the first place is a joke, just give us an upfront payment.

Where is the old Geoguessr?. I have been playing this game for seven years. My kids grew up with it. But now my version says it cannot connect to the internet and this new interface is not as user friendly as the old one. The map doesn’t fold out like the old one, and for some reason navigation seems more hampered. How do I get the old version to work?

Not worth it. Good game fun and educational but not worth paying for its sus because they use google earth as the backbone of the game made by google and they probably didn’t need to do much to develop the rest of it and it used to be free but it looks like greed has struck yet again and it’s in the free app category apple should make a “free but not free category” for games like this not worth it

The prices. Yes the game is free, but to actually play the game constantly you need to play monthly you only get about 1 game a day. And with a game so fun and variety. I just hope you make the game more play-able like even just watching an ad to give you a gay like please I love the game so just do a few minor things. It’s was good before but now.... Ever since the release of “Battle Royale” the game has completely changed making it so you have to vs online people and only have to get the country right. It cost money every month to play and if you can’t afford that you will have to wait 24 hours to play 1 game. I miss the old single player.

Was a great game. Before the update this was a fun game to play with my wife and friends. Being able to unlock and play the countries, places of my choice was what I enjoyed the most. In my opinion and I notice many others the update to Battle Royal is a step backwards with this app, by the way I don’t mind paying for an app if I consider it worthwhile.

Not well optimised. Playing multiplayer on current generation iPad Air. Issues with black screens and long times for location to load makes it very hard to be competitive. Definitely not worth the subscription with the hit and miss performance. Will probably cancel subscription.

Battle Royale mode ruined it. It was a great app, my girlfriend and I used to sit on the couch and play pass and play mode but now they've deleted that mode, this app has lost all appeal. what's so difficult about keeping both modes? really disappointed and if I could give less than 1 star I would.

Great fun and nice design. Would love to see a setting for number of rounds when playing with friends. Find when I play with my GF that two rounds isn’t enough. (I know you can just start another game but we want kinda a “battle” for top place across several rounds) And a standings/point system for matches with friends to help keep it competitive

A once good game, now just a cash grab. The game was actually fun as it allowed you to play the basic game of GeoGuessr without forking out money. But with the latest update, Battle Royale has now been forced on us, with a completely different app layout and we now need to pay money to play this game like we used to do. The current update is greatly disappointing, so I don’t see any reason to play this game any longer.

It’s alright. It’s pretty much what it advertises itself to be, however the life system is extremely annoying as it takes away lives even if you guess extremely accurately which severely impacts the amount you can pay without shelling out money. It makes the game feel too much like a cash grab.

Great, but could be smoother on iPhone. This is great fun! I’ve only been playing for a few days, but have two suggestions: 1) a “confirm pin location” prompt with the option to keep or discard dropped would be great - I keep somehow dropping a pin in the middle of nowhere and submitting it without realising; and 2) a single touch 180-degree turn would be awesome - it takes a lot of time to spin around on the spot at present.

Addictive. I just love this. Dropped in a foreign country after being blind folded and let loose. It's like the old where in the world is Carmen San Diago. Love having to figure out signs and working it out rather then guessing.

Love Geogeussr but just have some feedback. I love this game but I’m not sure why the iOS app set up is so different from the website. For example I would love it if in the multiplayer games on the app such as Battle Royale Countries, it would show you the exact location of your guesses on the world map in the summary. It’s one of my favourite battles, playing against other users to guess the correct country but it would be amazing to see exactly where you were to improve knowledge and learn about different areas. I know it’s possible since the web version offers it. Thanks

Ok, not great.. Downloaded the app as playing on iPad in safari is useless, but now you can’t even see your own maps in the app, can only view/edit them in the safari version which is rather annoying. Bring create/edit/view maps to the app and it would be much better.

Frustrating bug. It is very frustrating when you place your guess, press submit and it doesn’t work. You then have to place your guess and try to submit again if there is any time left. Also, you can only play once per day in the free version. Happy to change my rating if things a fixed.

Significant room for improvement. The app says I have five free games remaining but it won’t let me play another game. I also don’t like the forced use of an Apple login rather than email as an option. It’s also seems to be pushing hard for a subscription and I’ve only just started playing today.

Needs improvement on syncing. Overall a good game and a solid idea for a geography game, but syncing across devices is problematic, even after signing in. Not all the countries that I have unlocked on one device are unlocked on the other and I will not buy coins to open them again when I already have so my only option is to redo ones I’ve done and earn more to open the same countries I’ve unlocked. Hopefully this will be rectified soon. Other than that quite an addictive little game and a fascinating look at other countries up close, some I may never have the chance to travel to personally. :)

Great game but I have a glitch. The game is amazing and really addictive however sometimes a glitch happens where the map just moves to a random place. One second I will be looking at some place in Europe and then the map will suddenly glitch to South America.

Good, but room for improvement. I have been playing for a week now and I am really enjoying the challenge. This game has a lot of potential, and with a few enhancements, would make the game so much better. 1. Option to have Satellite view instead of street view 2. Have city/town concentric locations over random back roads. Especially places like Australia where you could have to travel 50km before you hit a cross road to give you any type of clue as to where you are. At least in an urban environment, there are clues to follow. 3. Lock the swipe up and down functions to prevent switching apps or pulling down notifications. I play other games that need a positive double swipe to unlock preventing accidentally swiping the wrong thing 4. Sliding/Adjustable bar to expand or resize the split of street view to map view. This would give you more map when searching for a location Looking forward to future improvements

This is great fun. Like detective work, hunting for clues. Crazy how I get a sense of what region I’m in just at first glance. Little creepy though- about the 10th place I found was 34km from where I grew up! I know the road intimately and it was about 500m from a friend’s place.

Not a p2w (pay to win) game, but a p2p (pay to play) game. This game used to be free to play on mobile devices, but after the update the game makes you pay continuously (subscribe) or else you can not play. I had a lot of fun on this game before, but now this game is the biggest money grab software I have ever seen. I know the developer have to make money, but why can’t you find another way to make profits instead of making us players pay to play? I have never seen any mobile games that make you subscribe (pay continuously) or else you can not play. Get lost.

Paywall. I’d love to see the statistics ever since the paywall was introduced. Definitely a steep decline in active users. GeoGuessr doesn’t really understand what type of game they are. This game doesn’t warrant a subscription service, the average GeoGuessr player is not gonna pay money for this game. From5 to 1. I loved this game when it was free, then you went and took it away. Alienating most of the people who played, great marketing plan.

Greedy paywall. This game has no right to charge you 50$ a year for you to play more than 3 games everyday. The game concept is mediocre at best and the ads should’ve been bringing in enough money. The paywall is absolutely stupid and incredibly greedy from the company.

Just a cheap and scummy cash grab now. The current “Most Helpful” reviews are outdated. Game basically requires a monthly subscription of a couple bucks in order to play more than a couple rounds, which is a scummy thing to do for a simple geological guessing game. They often change or remove game modes that were fun and popular to add something tacky and boring, as seen by the many recent reviews stating that everything they had played for and unlocked was wiped and replaced by a different, less enjoyable game mode. Avoid this game, it isn’t what it used to be and is definitely not worth another monthly subscription.

Super Fun Game!. I’m really in love with this game! Because we can’t travel right now, I’ve been exploring random places on google earth, but finding this game made it so much more fun! I’m actually really impressed with the variety of places, although I do get put on a lot of highways, which I guess makes sense. I can’t wait until the battle royale version comes out for the app, as I think that making it a competition will be really fun.

Great Game. This is one of the best games on the App Store. It's addicting, but not in the way that many other games. You'll be coming back not because the game designer made the game in such a way that it purposely pulls you in to drain your cash, but because it's simply a great game. Other reviews have said the game is a little buggy and I will agree with that, but it's nothing that can't be easily patched, but if those bugs cause you not to play this game it is your loss.

Awesome Game!. I recently started playing the mobile game, but I discovered this game about a year ago. This game is cool because you get to test and challenge your geographical skills rather than just mindlessly developing skills you don't need. Also, I love how streamlined and simple the app is, although I would ask that the developers improve the way you move around. An awesome game, and I will be sharing it with my friends as well!

Addicting, interesting, educational. I am so addicted to this app, and that's a good thing. You actually learn quite a bit from playing it, and as you get better you learn even more. You start to notice things about a place (vegetation, road condition, types of cars) that help you figure out where you are. You notice how similar other parts of the world are to where you live, and how different they are, too. Thank you!!

Wish there was more variety. Wish there was more variety of locations: famous sites, Europe, and cities. I keep getting the same maps repeatedly, sometimes within the same game. Four stars because it is addictive and good brain exercise... but there are famous places besides Pisa, Rome, Great Wall of China, Notre Dame, or St Petersburg. Though it is pretty funny how many times I’m dropped at the feet of the Space Needle (I’m a Seattleite). Is there a way to let users submit pin drops?

Great game to kill time. Love the game, easily kills boredom. I do have to take off a star because sometimes it is not always accurate. I like to be exact lol For example, I’m exactly zoomed in on the map and correctly see that it matches the exit I’m at in the street view but when I match it it’s a few miles off. Like I said many people might not care but I get annoyed cause I like to be exact lol It does irk me when I’m in the correct route and area but when I click to confirm it tells to tell me I’m far off by a hundred or so miles but the map and street view clearly shows your are. Any just a few bugs but overall great game!

Good until….. This was great until the app updated. For example there were so many great maps and the game updated and then they all disappeared and now you can only do around the the world and battle royale. Since it updated now there is no pass and play which was one of my favorite thing because I could play it with my family but now that doesn’t exist. Please please please bring back the old GeoGuessr. I really miss it and the update I don’t like at all.

Disgusting Pay to play excuse for a game. When I first downloaded this about a year ago it was almost perfect, there were no annoying ads or subscriptions, simply a globe guesser game. I didint play it for a few months and when I did I found it added in a limited subscription where you have to pay 3 dollars a month to get unlimited access which used to be free! if you want to wait a day everytime you want to play this game go ahead otherwise I wouldn’t not recommend purchasing this lowlife cash grab excuse of a game as it’s not worth playing anymore. Disappointed and Disgusted.

Very interesting and fun. I’ve been pretty glued to this “game” for a few days now. I’m having a blast virtually exploring new places. I feel like Sherlock Holmes. One star lost because sometimes it’ll drop you on a random beach somewhere and the “move” function isn’t very sensitive - the double tap to move forward or back either doesn’t work or can’t get you to anywhere that you can decipher any relevant information. Would love for the movement sensitivity to be more intuitive or controllable.

So many bugs. Bugs, bugs, and more bugs. Sometimes the game shows an old map/location. Sometimes you can't pick from the map because the game just says "Waiting for game to start," and you have to watch other players get the answer right. Sometimes the game won't let you consistently move down a road even when moving is enabled. Sometimes when you pick an incorrect country from the map, it hangs and you're stuck waiting. 50/50 doesn't show the country name - only the flag.

Pay to play a repetitive, and very boring game? I think not.. The game is fun, sorta, but I am definitely not paying a 2.99 subscription to guess where I am on google earth over, and over. Plus even if I did not pay the subscription, I would only be able to do 3 games every 24 hours. Even though I can play three games still, each game lasts 5 minutes. There is many games like this that are probably free. I'll do those instead. Probably not going to download again.

Update sadness. The new Battle Royale isn’t really what i want to be playing in such a chill game like this, and as i understand by the other comments theyre working on putting si goe player back into the game, but it seems like its going to be a paid subscription, which Id rather not do. if it was a one time payment id do so gladly but i dont want to pay 2.99 (or whatever it may end up being) a month for a game i play once or twice a week. not to say this game is garbage, ive had many fun times with it, as well as with the pass and play, but i think its readily available nature before the update is what made it so appealing

Can’t even get past tutorial. Open the app for the first time and it MAKES you do a 3 step tutorial. Step 1 worked fine, step 2 fine, then w get to step 3. Tells you to click the arrow and move around. Only no arrow appears just a hand endlessly pointing at there there should be arrows. On step 2 I had arrows and could move around fine, but not 3. The problem is there is no way to exit this tutorial or go any further until you complete this, so I simply can’t play or even try this out due to a tutorial issue.

Pass and play was the best feature :(. I am not a competitive GeoGuessr player, but I can’t tell you how many times my friends and I were hanging around and I pulled out my phone to do pass and play. Introduced lots of people to this app and thought it was a brilliant concept. I know you introduced local multiplayer as a “replacement”, but having people play their own games on their own phones is not at all the same as passing the phone back and forth. I wouldn’t even have an issue paying the $3/month for that, but as it stands, it’s lost a lot of value for me and I will probably cancel my subscription.

SEARCH BAR?. I really love this game, the one thing I would love to be added is a search bar. I’m not sure if others would agree but I feel like it would be cool to be able to search a place and then it will put my marker there so i don’t have to search and search once i figure out where i want to put my marker since a lot of times i know where the location is but can’t find it on the map. Anyways besides that this game is one of my favorites. Thanks!

More buggy, price prohibitive. One free game per day for such a complex game just isn’t enough. I can’t imagine a new user playing one game then forking over 24 or 3$. Or coming back after 24 for your second try. Just learning the game mechanics isn’t easy enough to get in one go. I’ve played this game on occasions since the web app days, and though they’ve added additional subscription price points, it still seems high. And I’m a geographer.

Crashes nonstop. Fun game initially, husband and I love games we can be competitive in and appreciate the fact we were even learning a bit! Bought 2 additional maps to enjoy what we thought would be even more fun and the app began to crash every 5-10 minutes afterward. Gave it a chance but after almost an hour of this struggle gave up. Could not get through even 3 rounds before an error message popped up. Closed the game, made sure I had the most updated version, tried reopening- crashing continued. Very frustrating that right after putting money into it this happens. Would have just continued with the free map where we had no issues.

Trash update. Today i hopped on the game after not playing for a good while and found after one of my matches that I had to wait 24 hours just to play again. I think the game modes are great and the classic as well, but i don’t believe that its worth 3$ a month. At most the developer could’ve added new game modes and added subscriptions to those (leaving the classic game-mode free to play), or even had given us more daily opportunities to play. I think this games restrictions are ridiculous and are definitely something that should be worked on. I used to love the game but now I don't think its worth the storage space.

My money?. So I haven’t played this game in a while. So I went to go check it out. When I checked it out the whole game changed and I was like oh OK that seems a bit cool until I realized I had bought something on the older version. What I bought was An amount currency for five dollars so then I could Play GeoGuesser United States version so I would have to play all around the world but that currency isn’t available so that was a complete waste of money and I feel bad for anybody else who bought some .

Good game but….. It’s a fun game, and is a cool way to test your knowledge. But it only allows you to play 6 or so games then proceeds to make you wait A FULL 24 HOURS….u til you can play 6 more again UNLESS YOU PAY FOR A SUBSCRIPTION….given that a few years ago it was a free to play game over and over again it’s just sad. Whatever happened to games being for fun and not either charging a subscription fee to fully play or shoving an add in your face every 10 seconds or both…..at this point just make the game worth a few bucks from the get go in the App Store and drop the subscription crap.

Dead app - fun while it lasted. Yes, I know that Google’s jacked API price has been driving this app into the ground. However, it’s just reached the point where unless you pay, it isn’t fun. The most recent update meant my free account was denied access to the country maps I previously unlocked with points. I can’t even choose to unlock those anymore. I have 3 “free” world rounds left and that’s it. I’ve uninstalled it and won’t be back. I would have paid a flat fee to enjoy the game in its original state, but when they’re asking a monthly subscription fee and keep moving the goalposts in terms of what content you can access?? Forget it. Stay far away.

Subscription P2P. This used to be a great free game. It had some minor annoyances like throwing you into a country road or field with no chance of guessing where you are without moving down the road for 10+ minutes. Now you only get a few free plays and then you have to pay a recurring subscription. When it was free, I might play 20 rounds in a day and then not play the game for 2-4 weeks again so a monthly subscription is terrible. I would gladly pay a fixed price, say $9.99, to permanently play the game whenever I want.

Great Game Ruined By Greed. Just log onto a computer and play this game for free, or just play this through a search engine. The App Store version of this game is awful, you can only play a few times before they will force you to pay money. Wow. I just found out that this is a monthly payment rather than a pay once type of app. What is wrong with this world. This is apples fault for making app developers pay so much just to have this app on the app store, but its still absolutely sickening that this is what games and apps have come too.

Liked it better before update.. Since the most recent update the game gets stuck and and then I have to restart and then I lose a free turn. I have two games left and I’ve only been able to complete five of them. I love the game but would have liked to complete all the free games. I’m not going to buy this unless I know the same thing won’t happen.

Huge downgrade. I had this app because on the computer version, you can only play once a day. Now with the past few updates they have taken everything away and only had Battle Royale. In the latest update they’ve added back single player mode, but you can only play 3 times a day. They’ve also taken out the different maps you can buy with coins, like United States and Cities. I’m guessing they will add those back next update with additional paywalls. I’ve lost all motivation to play this game. Such a disappointment.

Please bring local multiplayer back. Most bugs have been worked out in the last few updates and since then this game has become very comparable to the browser version of the game. Unfortunately the local multiplayer has also been worked out and that’s the only reason I am not giving five stars. But nonetheless I still highly recommend downloading if you are into geography or geography games!!

To GeoGuesser. I really like the game and I think that it’s really fun when you ACTUALLY get to play. I really don’t like that you have to wait 24 hours to play the game again becuase I’m not the best at guessing where I am in the game and I’d like to get better at it but it’s really hard to get better at something when you get it wrong and can’t do it for 24 hours. I hope y’all can do something about this and thank you.👍

Not worth it unless you pay for it. I only used the free version of this app, and it’s not worth it if you’re not willing to pay for a subscription. You can play once after every 24 hours. The only version it allows you to play is battle royale, so if you are just starting and are generally just bad at guessing, that one round you’re allowed to play every 24 hours only lasts a minute or two. If you guess wrong you’re knocked out and can’t play again for another 24 hours. I think the idea of this game is great but the restrictions on the free version make it pointless to keep downloaded.

Addictive, unique game. I love this on the browser and the app is pretty good. I wish I could control the sound, and use my login from the web version. And sometimes it's a bit slow to "travel" down the road. I like that you can select different areas, adjust the time limit to make it more challenging, and earn coins as you play.

Bug in the tutorial—can’t even play the game. The tutorial takes you through three easy locations just to teach you the ropes. The point of the third location is to teach you how to use the arrows to walk, which I was able to do in the other two locations. However, the arrows don’t even show up when you’re taken to the third location. I couldn’t look around or anything. Backed out of the game a few times and restarted, but that didn’t work. I deleted the app and redownloaded it, but that also didn’t work. It seems you can’t even start to play the game without finishing this tutorial, so it’s a pretty frustrating bug.

Great game with some bugs. Great game. Glad spectating was added to Battle Royale. Also glad the other modes made it into the app. Sometimes Battle Royale bugs out when spectating (might happen when playing as well). The game will drop you in Lithuania for example, but will say the location is actually Argentina (it isn’t). The game takes the name of the location from the PREVIOUS round, which was actually Argentina in this example, and tells you that it’s also the location for the current round (which again is actually Lithuania). Sometimes you’ll just get a black screen as well. Rare that it happens though. I also don’t get how the placements at the end of a game work? I’ll win the game but it’ll show me as 7th place instead of 1st? Or I’ll be second or third place but it’ll show me as 5th or 9th?

Freezes, pinch gesture stops working, game crashes. I absolutely love this game!! Is it really fun to find the exact spot where you are dropped. BUT the app needs serious programmer work. It‘s very frustrating to spend time trying to find clues, etc and then the game crashes just as you are about to place the pin. The pinch gesture is so unreliable that I’ve started taking screenshots so I can zoom in on things via iPhoto. BUT I look at the photo on my phone while playing the game on my 2020 iPad because if I open another window, the game might crash. I would definitely pay for this game. Charge a fee and fix the glitches, please.

So much fun. It’s just like you woke up in a strange place somewhere on the earth, and have to figure out where you are. You must use clues from your surroundings, such as signs, landmarks, and even the language to narrow in on your location. It’s great if you like deductive games! I have learned so much just by exploring in this game, and it makes the whole world seem a little more familiar.

Way to LOSE 5 STARS. Wow. I used to play this game legit for hours, and had gotten enough coins that I’d unlocked so many different maps (NY being my fav and most cherished unlock). Well, I had to take a short break from gameplay and today I finally had time to play and I come back to a GREEDY new app. Three free rounds?!? First of all, how about where’s all of my progress?? I took pride in challenging myself, while learning about places around the world. Google maps/Google Earth is entirely TOO FREE for y’all to be acting like it’s not. Good day. Y’all are blocked (deleted, whatever). BYE!

Used to be fun. I got this game when it first came out and it was fun. You played the game, got points, collected coins, and bought new packs with those coins. You could also just play as a guest without signing up. Now you have to signup. I don’t really have a problem with that. I am a developer and having accounts is the best way to save data/progress between devices, etc. But now it says that I only have a certain number of free games left, likely before I will have to pay. I also can’t see where the pass n play multiplayer feature is anymore so I can’t play with my family.

Fun but…. I don’t pay for the premium version so I am limited to one game a day - fine. Today I started my game, about 30 seconds into it my phone died. Plug my phone in, turn it back on, and open the app to find that apparently my unfinished game with 30 seconds into it counted as my free play for the day. Plenty of other apps are able to remember where you left off if your phone dies, and at the very least it could just reset.

It’s a good game, major issues on this platform though.. The core game is really fun and deep, however the controls are absolutely horrendous. They seem to be using the desktop version of street view and it shows, especially when google earth has a much better system. I would also like a way to play in portrait mode, which would make a lot more sense to me, however it should be an option to use landscape.

Pay to play. Geo guesser is a great game. I’ve gotten many people to play it however everyone stops playing pretty soon after because you have to pay money to play more than once a day. I assume it’s because there isn’t enough locations and people would go through everything quickly. I think it’s also safe to assume that greed is also big determining factor if not the only one. I would also like to point out that people don’t like paying subscriptions especially for mobile games a one time payment might be a better choice and might get more people playing.

Great game but. This is a great game that I came across recently and can’t seem to stop playing it. The only problem I have with it is the tickets/energy. You can only have 5 tickets max and once they all run out it takes about 30 minutes to get 1 back. If anything I would say increase ticket capacity or decrease the amount of time it takes to recover them, or maybe both. Thank you for your time.

Great game, but a lack of feature and some bugs.. Occasional bug where the street view doesn’t update during battle royal. Happens often enough that it affects my rating pretty dramatically. Also a lack of features like the ability to update your profile pic, instructions for how each mode work, and other basics jut aren’t present in the app. I feel like the combo of bug and missing features leaves me questioning if I should be paying their monthly fee, but they are the only game worth playing for “guess where you are” and they have the user base, so here I am.

Wait? What???. OK, I started playing this just a few weeks ago, and it was great! And then I got busy and then I logged in to play a couple of days ago and...TWO GAMES LEFT??? WTH??? I know that there’s a benefit to subscribing to a game for extra features, but I just wanted a basic game, which I had just a couple of weeks ago. What the heck happened? Why am I suddenly forced into a subscription for a game that I play when I can but not all the time? Why not make this a game that you just BUY ONE TIME and then make a pro version, rather than tricking regular players into a sudden subscription? Seems shady to me.

Why money man. This is an amazing concept although rough around the edges due only to google’s photos, the fact that it costs a subscription to play puts it out of reach for many people. Why would I pay three dollars a month when I could have a friend drop me on a random place on google maps and have it be the exact same premise? This is especially frustrating because the game was free until moderately recent. I would pay 5$ once for unlimited access, but a subscription is a waste of money for a game that’s on the verge of novelty.

Love! But needs a bit more. Love geogeusser so much! So happy there’s a mobile version. Only problems (but are still pretty significant to me) - when you can’t guess the location, it doesn’t tell you how far you were from being right, and then resets next game. Id like to know where the location was (out of curiosity & to improve gameplay) or at least have the same location per level so I can figure it out eventually - only option for more coins is real $$, I’d watch an ad for some coins if that’s ever an option 👀

Fun game, but app lacks. The app doesn’t include all the features the website does. For instance, if you want to do just a single state in the US, you have to be on PC. Also the app and the site both have several glitches, such as opening a new game mode and it showing street view of the last location in the last game, so when you select the right location, you’re actually wrong; as well as the map touch-to-navigate features randomly not working. I’m going to stick with it, and hope it’s just growing pains that will be worked out in time.

Cool game…once a day. The app developers certainly didn’t want to create a game that’ll keep you engrossed for hours, well that is if you wanted a free game. Nope. Fork over some cash if you want to play this game more than 1 game per day. I don’t get it. So many free games out there. I downloaded this game because it looked cool, and it is. But you play once. Then after that game, it prompts you to hand over cash in order to keep playing or you can come back tomorrow. What a gyp. Throw some ads in or something but make this game free.

Big cheater problem. I have I teractuons with players on duals that would guess the location in. Less than 30s each round same time. Then I get 16 seconds to guess and make a pretty good one. Only to find out the other player gets almost exactly on the mark when it’s a random city and all 3 cities were in different parts of the globe. Obviously not legit and it hurts the game. I have done some research and people seem to say you can find the coordinates with the inspect feature on the desktop version. It needs to be removed or blocked somehow.

Terrible - Bad Glitches and Money Hungry. Don’t bother with this game, the devs are out for money instead of their community. They “aligned” this app with their computer website awhile back and TOTALLY RUINED the app. WHO would have thought,, a mobile app and a website shouldn’t be 100% the exact same?! Devs took away several super fun features - the main I would like mention is the capability of local pass and play. Instead of even having users have the option to buy these, the devs did not listen to their community at all and FULLY removed amazing aspects of this game.

Pls bring Single Player back. Im honestly am only giving 5 stars because this game holds a spot close to my heart, i took a time off playing and reinstalled it because i was telling a friend how good this game is, unfortunately when we got it, only battle royale appeared so that was kinda disappointing, hopefully single player gets re added along with the maps because i loved playing the famous locations map

Ugh. I was going to do a five star rating but then I updated the game and I can no longer play any maps other than world… why would you remove features instead of adding them? edited: Thanks for the response... I will check the app out again soon and update my review if it is better. I feel like this should have come as one single update (or a new app entirely) because updating the app ruined the point of having it (for me), and there’s no way to “un-update” it.
