MIDI support is unreliable.. Great idea, but without the promised external MIDI support it’s basically a very simple onscreen keyboard with exportable MIDI files. Not terrible, but also not what is advertised. Would also appreciate support for combining the MIDI files into one large file and/or allowing a pause in recording on the same track so that coming up with ideas doesn’t result in several different tracks.

Useful app. Needs a bit of work.. Really useful app! I wish there was a count-in for the metronome. Also, the sustain pedal function is buggy. If you mute playback while the sustain is on, it’s off when you unmute and has to be tapped twice to re-enable it. There really needs to be an export to cloud function. I don‘t want to always have to connect my phone to the computer, open iTunes, and import the midi files that way. Please add an easier way to export the midi files! EDIT: the developer wrote back (thank you!) and mentioned the “swipe left to delete or export” function. Great! However, when I was looking for this function, I couldn’t find anything about it in any online documentation. Glad it’s so easy, though. Thanks again.

Inaccurate recording of rhythm. There seems to be an issue with the timing of midi events. They are not captured precisely in time. I am professional pianist (and developer) who was hoping to grab my midi data from various gigs on keyboards to use for training data in ML tasks, but this program fell short on multiple keyboard models. Which is surprising for a company that released such a beautiful app as forScore. I will certainly continue using forScore daily while recommending it to others, but this particular app needs some serious QA work on various peripherals if the app is going to cost money. I was let down..

It could be a useful app. But it is glitching. The details: iOS 17.2 + Arius YDP 103 + wire Good: - The app found the device - The app’s UI is intuitively clear - The recorded file is possible to share/save outside the app - The app can record longer then 1 minute of playtime Not good: the app… - Records, but then plays with wrong temp (faster or slower) - Records, but skips parts of played notes - Records, but crashes when playing back - Doesn’t record (fixed with restarting the app) So I didn’t get any records I can use so far.

Doesn't save a valid Midi file. Unfortuantely this app doesn't seem to save

Lost data. Done two improvisations about 10 minutes long. Lost all data in the last 15%. Really disappointed.

Poorly made. Nice idea but the execution really isn’t there. Every time I try to record more than 10 seconds it lags behind and cuts off the rest of my playing once I press stop. Not really even worth a couple bucks.

Like AudioShare for midi.. Works great. So simple and easy to use. Simplifies midi work flow on iPhone a lot.

Ok but not great. Like the others I have found that the timing is off on recording and importing. I have noticed that the recording is about two clicks faster than the actual tempo that I played. If it was just a solo piece that’s not an issue but if I’m trying to line it up with other tracks it becomes an issue and I have to adjust it in post which is not ideal. I would be curious if the developers had any input as to why it would be several clicks faster in the recording?

Simple and Useful. It took me longer than expected to find something simple to record a MIDI from my keyboard (Garage band will record, but can't export a MIDI). While learning piano, I want to both hear and visualize a recording (to see timing). This does exactly that; everything else I could find was far too complex and overkill.

Simple and effective. This tiny, amazing app does just what it says and is *exactly* what I was looking for when I found it—other offerings on full PCs weren't nearly as convenient as this. There's something to be said for being simple and powerful, and this app says it all.

Easy and works great.. See the review titled "Simple and Useful". It says everything I want to say. Also, I use Nocturn on both my Mac and iPhone, and it works great on both devices.

Text annotation. Very simple and elegant app! But adding text information for a piece of recording is very limited. It would be better if it’s allowed to add some text description for each single track in a project.

I got it to capture ideas. Impossible to export them. As it says in the product description “When you’ve got something worth keeping, you’ll want to use the right tool for the job: share your MIDI file with a computer for additional editing and mastering.” i couldn’t find that feature for the life of me, even on their website. But reading a review found it. Swipe left.

No Bluetooth support. Doesn’t pick up any midi signals via Bluetooth.

Awful - don’t waste your time. Dismal interface and buggy. The share feature doesn’t work.

Quits immediately. All the support seems to be for another of their apps, forscore. Not eligible for refund? Is this just scam? I’ve put too much time in already trying to get help. Beware

Nice user interface BUT.... I can’t get the recordings off the App to use elsewhere, nor can I use Bluetooth keyboard to record

“Just connect your MIDI device to your iPhone, iPad”. I don’t see any option in the Settings to connect my MIDI device (in my case a Bluetooth wireless MIDI that is paired with my iPad, and is “connected”). All I see is a virtual keyboard. The product description is misleading and if I don’t get the option to record using a digital keyboard (not a virtual keyboard), then I should not even be paying for this app. It’s too bad because I’m one of the earliest owners of ForScore and I expected the quality of Nocturne to be on par as ForScore.

simple basic app.... ... does what it is supposed to do, without much fuss or complexity. A note that rather than "save" your file you "share" it.
