Worst Streaming App Out There. This app is an absolute abomination. Every single week when I go on this app it completely logs me out from my tv provider. No other streaming service, app, or website has ever logged me out once. This app does it every single week. Plus when I do manage to get in and watching something the quality and actual stream is horrendous. It is not my internet I have fiber and the best possible internet I can get in my area. And still have horrible quality on the videos I watch on this app. Plus during commercial break it freezes 8/10 times. And also this is the only app which consistently tells me I am not connected to WiFi. Which my device has never not been connected to WiFi while in my house. I do not recommend using this app to anyone who wishes to have an enjoyable experience while streaming any sort of video or tv show.

What the hell?!. The app set up was fine!! Why did you screw it up?! At least before I could see how much of the episode I had left to watch before clicking on it or if I’ve even watched it before. When I would click on a show it would start playing straight from there. Now it opens up another link, then loads the video, then I have to click on the video to get it to play, then I have to expand it to full screen. What type of moronic crap is this?! Is this the streaming version of common core math? What use to take two steps now takes 30 for the same result. Seriously, what brain child came up with this? They should be fired!!

Can’t link provider. I have tried all the Discovery channel apps ( this one, AHC Go etc.) and none will allow me to sign in to Xfinity in order to watch included channels. Update. It work well now. As I have 2 Xfinity accounts at 2 different locations ( one including these channels the other not) I needed to be at the one that has them in order to link provider. It never asks for sign in or password despite provider being removed from iPad (6th gen ipados 14.8.1)

Great App (Its on demand Discovery). Thanks for putting up all of your shows. The commercials and advertisements are no different than standard TV and I respect that. Please keep it that way. I can deal with 5” 3 minute commercials/ads for a one hour show on demand. If you have a cable tv supplier or tv provider. Try this app if you want The Discovery Channel! Try it more if you want discovery when you want it, and how you want it. Thanks. Please try out the discovery show “The Last Alaskans” if anyone gets a chance. It’s real and it makes you feel on the edge. Love the app. Love the channel and always have. Try to keep us informed forever please!

What happened?. Between yesterday and today I’m no longer able to stream current content. My cable subscription has been the same for decades and suddenly you say I can’t stream? It’s happening on all of the channels under your umbrella. Why do I bother paying for your channels if you don’t allow me to access content? Between the constant advertising, cost of cable subscription and the problems with this app, you guys are going to lose customers. *edit For some bizarre reason 30 hrs later I’m now able to stream on all apps again. I don’t know if it was the apps or my cable company that fixed the problem; I contacted both to try and figure out what was going on. Anyway, thanks for offering to help , the problem is resolved. I changed my rating because you actually did attempt to help and it’s resolved. Thank you.

Great Library, But.... I can’t describe how annoying it is to be fast forwarding and being forced to watched 5-7 ads every time you hit one of the “ad bars” on your video progress. Switching between tv and mobile, it doesn’t save my most recent spot on the shows I watch. So when I am scrolling through an episode, I constantly have to watch all of these ads even though I haven’t found the point I was last at yet. And you can’t back out of the ads once you trigger them. Currently looking for a point I was last at and I have already had to watch 19 ads. So, so very annoying and wasting my time. There has to be a better way.

Over-all good app. The only complaint I have is that if I want to skip ahead or back, I have to watch the commercials that I all ready watched or ones I skip over.I entirely understand the comerciales in the shows and I don’t mind that but this one thing I stated is the one and only complaint about this app.I live it bc I have all my favorite shows on hand all the time and will continue to use it.

Apparently commercials are all that matter not the fans. Recently downloaded a new update for the app it works worse now than it did before it was supposed to be enhancement and performance update but all I found was more trouble more problems and more commercials I would have paid two dollars for the gap just so that I did not have to see 45 minutes of commercials for a one hour show apparently discovery channel IT department or whatever department handles this kind of stuff doesn’t know what they are doing so I will soon be deleting the app if it doesn’t get better within the next 30 days

Ok but has its flaws. They have a wide range of shows which is nice. It would be nice if you took out after the catch and the bait as their own shows, or have I’d play them correctly in they way they aired. Sad you don’t have any old dirty jobs. However some flaws it does a poor job remembering where you left off, and it does show up on the recently watched. It crashes all the time, freezes or won’t connect. I’m jinxing myself with this but only in the past 3 days has it not done this but it will in the middle of what you’re watching make you log out and log back in, about every 2.5 to 3 shows watched. Time watching doesn’t seem to matter.

Tv provider glitches. I love the content but I have lots of problems with the tv provider staying linked. I frequently open the app to watch the latest episode of gold rush only to have it tell me that my tv subscription doesn’t include this network. So I have to unlink provider, deny access to tv provider in phone settings, go back in to the app, link provider, and permit access again. Once I’ve done that, it remembers that I do in fact still have the same subscription package I always had and allows me to indulge in my guilty pleasures… until it happens again the next day.

Great programming - HORRIBLE APP. I cannot believe the team at Discovery would allow this app to be still in existence! It’s 2018 - you’ve gotta an app that appears to work like its 1999! Really folks, this is the worst app I have used on iPhone or the Apple TV 4K, blotchy video, commercials galore, and even the commercials are horrible! People at Discovery, WALK UP! You have great programs but put on such a low quality app, like putting a Mercedes Engine in a body of an old rusted out Ford Pinto and running around town in it waving to everyone! I cannot think of any other analogy! Please Discovery, pay attention to these reviews, you can do better!

Can’t stream or watch any of my shows. The discovery go, animal planet go, TLC go, and food network go doesn’t work on my iPhone and only animal planet go and TLC go works on my Apple TV. I use xfinity and it says that is app isn’t part of the package. Spoke to my xfinity service and they don’t know what is wrong plus I have been placed on hold for your live chats and no answer for over an hour and a half and have sent request to your help people and no reply. Can you help me? P.S. I have already done the contact and sent in a ticket for at least and I have never gotten any response from any of your help team.

From flawless to GARBAGE. App was working flawless with AppleTV until the latest the update Discovery pushed two weeks ago. Now shows won’t start and kicks out of the app to the main screen, I suspect this has something to do with the commercials which Discovery has drop the ball with coding. In short app has become useless. ********************************** Update: July 27, 2018 LISTEN UP DISCOVERY This information is for the many people who are experiencing issues with your Discovery app on AppleTV. I’ve identified the problem without the help of Discovery and have a work around to resolve the issue as documented above. This ISSUE has nothing to do with your internet connection as another person has said in a review. The issue is indeed related to the coding of the Discovery app which corrupts the installed app previous to the Discovery update. To resolve the issue: First remove the app completely, Second restart your AppleTV, Third reinstall the Discovery app, Fourth turn off Nielsen Measurement (Discovery spyware) and finally restart your AppleTV once again. We have two 4K HDR AppleTVs. One we were able use the work around and the other had a additional step of RESETTING the entire AppleTV prior to reinstalling the Discovery app. This can major pain & inconvenience for people who are using their AppleTV as a HomeKit hub.

Ok. I like Discovery GO because I’m able to watch movies.. series or whatever but the commercials are out rages the commercials are killing me it takes for ever to watch one episode of anything because the commercials one after the other it is crazy and there’s nothing you can do about it but hey if I want to see an episode of something and I can’t find anywhere else this is where you are I have to come to

The Greatest Discovery. What a discovery this is and I enjoy watching the shows that bring up a lot of questions but very amiss to answers in our beloved world. And that what I enjoy is the people are so magical to a atmosphere so captivated it catches my eyes. That it’s The Greatest Discovery of all when I watch the love and dedication I see these magnificent people do to show how we can make a better world. So that’s why I enjoy Discovery very much.

I love it but?. I love the app so much but I think it would be cool if they could add a way to mirror the app on a tv like on a chromecast or a smart tv and if they could also add a skip button like 10 seconds forward or 10 seconds back because sometimes i want to rewind but if i do it wrong its hard to find the part i want to see but other that that the app is amazing I hope you can do some of those changes to the apps?☺️

Always on the go.. This app is awesome. I’m rarely ever home and I miss my shows.( street outlaws) I love all of them . And I own a small automotive detailing shop. So I’m always at my shop. And I really don’t know how to work the tv at the house lol I’m not kidding either. This app makes it so easy to navigate and I can watch when I get home and relax and plug in my headphones. Thank you. And please add more streetoutlaw shows. That’s the only thing I watch lol

Amount of commercials is absolutely insane. I stream tv shows on multiple different apps, and I’m pretty sure Discovery Go has more commercials in one episode of a show than every other streaming app has combined in a whole season of a show. Each episode has at least 7-8 commercial breaks and each break has about 7 commercials. The worst part is, they are all the same! You watch the same commercials over and over and over. Sometimes it will play the same commercial 3 times in a row! You spend more time watching commercials than the show itself, it’s almost unbearable. After I finish the series I’m on, I will be deleting this app.

Buggy and freezes HDMI output. I like to watch video on a big screen so I use the Apple digital AV connector and an HDMI cable. This app always locks up when I do that. Furthermore after it locks up it will only play audio through the HDMI cable and video on the phone screen. If you exit out or force close the application you also will not get your phone screen video output back through the HDMI output. You will have to restart your phone with a power cycle to do that. Very annoying. Makes you not want to watch discovery at all. I don’t know if this is an app or IOS issue but you people need to work this sort of garbage out.

Please level the sound.. I love the discovery channel! But Discovery to go has a very big flaw that is terribly annoying the sound level during the commercials is like 10 times the volume of the show. Have turn up the volume to hear show, and the everyone in the house gets woken up when the commercial comes on. So I mute it or have to scramble to turn it down. This needs to be fixed!!!! Sure it would be simple fix. And sure the advertisers would like to know that the commercials are being heard and not muted. Thank you

Better than Fios. I have Fios. Their on demand is trash! You only get a couple of episodes per season. The rest you have to pay for LOL. Per episode 😂 wth am I paying for cable!? The DiscoveryGo app is AMAZING! You get the usable ads which is perfectly fine. You get all the episodes. You really can’t co plain. Only flaw is that if you leave the app and come back or close it and come back. You have to rewatch the ads.

Worse than ever. This app is ridiculous... It has more glitches than any other streaming app I use. The add pop ups are the most frustrating thing, they pop up, and you can’t get it to go away to hit play or pause on the show you started until you’ve clicked the add. The commercials are annoyingly long, it seems like a 30 minute show is 15 minutes of commercials. Streaming has become worse than live tv with commercials, I get they are needed to provide funding, but it’s the same ads over and over and over... drives one crazy. As soon as I find another way to watch certain shows, I will stop using this app, and never go back to discovery.

Commercial interference. Let me start by saying the app is great, and I love the convenience of being able to watch my favorite shows on my mobile device. My only complaint is the commercial break placements. Instead of falling into the shows cut edits specifically for commercials, it breaks in at almost random intervals which breaks up the flow of the show. That would be alright if I could back up the video and resume the flow, but if I do, it just starts the commercial circuit again. If this could be resolved, that would make this a 5 star app imho. Even if it can’t be resolved, still very awesome to have access to all these great programs!

Horrible app with WAY too many ads. The app gives an “oops” error and loses your progress fairly often. When you try to get back to the spot in the show you were watching, you have to sit through anywhere from 4 to 8 of the same freaking ads you just saw that last time you tried to fast forward. Just to get back to where you were before their app glitched, you may have to watch 16 ads. And, in general, the number of ads is insane, and they play the same ones EVERY SINGLE TIME! If I weren’t trying to catch up on Moonshiners from Season 1 forward, I would scrap this app in a heartbeat.

The Last Alaskans. Best Show Ever. Off the air now, but neat to see reruns. The videographers, editors, sound, music, etc., should have all received awards for making and filming the lives of these people. All of the people in the show had their own story, unlike anyone else’s. I hope they were compensated some how for letting everyone come into their lives. Bring the show back! Thanks, Mike

Picking up where we left off. Like some other reviewers have noted, the app needs to be updated to save your place better. And it needs to not force you to watch another 3 minutes of commercials to even see IF you scrubbed to the right spot. I also have no issues with commercials, that part is totally fine, but as someone who actually buys time for clients on these types of services, I know the frequency of ads is badly misrepresented (way more than it should be). This really needs to be fixed. It makes me just want to record on my xfinity, download the show after it ran, and skip commercials entirely that way.

Cant Load Any Show. The new update is horrible!! I uploaded the new update a few days ago and have had nothing but trouble since. I click on the app and it open but it buffers and buffers sometimes it doesnt stop and I cant click on anything. I have closed the app completely and tried again multiple times, it didnt fix it. Then I redownloaded it a few times. Sometimes it does stop buffering and let me click on the show then it buffers again even with my tv providers connected. Ridiculous! Love Gold Rush and a few others but if it doesnt get fixed I’ll have to move on:(

The Worst Streaming App Available. Commercials are 1 thing, but this app takes it to a level beyond tolerable. Seriously. If you decide to stop watching, get ready for more commercials just to start watching again. And that’s IF it starts you where you left off! But that’s HIGHLY unlikely! 9 times out of 10, whether I’m watching on my TV or phone, it starts me much further back than I left off. And THEN, you have even more commercials to watch to get back to where you were. Take today for example… I had to stop my show to go take care of some errands. Commercials came on before I could stop it, so I waited until they were over before I stopped it so I hopefully wouldn’t have to watch them when I came back. NO SUCH LUCK. After sitting through the 7 ads before I stopped it, I had to sit through 8 more before the show started again. THE WORST STREAMING APP AVAILABLE!!

It’s great but could be a ton better..... The concept of the app is a great idea. It would be a great way for people to be able to watch TV on the go. I love the app, but it has room for improvement, a lot of room. The commercials are crazy. It might seem like it’s not to bad... at first. Once you actually try to watch something, you find that it feels like the commercials are longer than the show. It actually says that you can use the app to binge watch your favorite show/movies on the go, I don’t see how that’s possible. Thats a problem.

Horrible app. Probably the worst app I’ve ever used. Just to be clear, I watched all 6 seasons of Ice Pilots using the VHX app, and it never crashed. Not one time in 50+ episodes. This app crashed before I could finish ONE episode. I tried multiple times to return to the same place where it locked up, and after being required to watch the same ads over and over again, it kept crashing. This happened at least five times before I gave up. There are plenty of other similar reviews of this app. I’m adding myself to the growing list of VERY unsatisfied users of your terrible app. Get your act straight. Produce an app that does not crash or lose a customer.

Absolutely Horrible App. If you want to be aggravated, this is the app for you. I tried this app on my ipad and, assuming you can get through the cumbersome sign in process in less than 3 attempts, you'll find the app crashes when you try to play something. I even tried it on my Firestick. I got the "Success" screen after going through the sign in process, which is even more cumbersome since you have to use the remote, only to have everything lock up at that point. Save the storage space on your device for something that works. Update: Received an email from the developer telling me to sign out and then sign in again. If that didn't work then I was to submit a ticket. Since I couldn't ever get signed in on the Firestick, this wasn't an option. I did as suggested on the ipad with the same result - app crashed when I tried to play a show. Following my own advice, the app has now been deleted from both devices.

App designed for commercials not content. The app crashes only during streaming of programs, commercials always work. When you try to go in to catch the last 10 minutes of a program after the app crashes, you wind up having to watch 12 minutes of commercials. I give up, and no longer care how a show ends. If the app crashes that's the end of the show for me. As if the Discovery network wasn't already bending over backwards to prove they couldn't care less about their customers, they've now locked out their PAYING customers, that have to get their service through Spectrum, from watching back episodes of most of their shows through the app.

Terrible. Let me start out by saying I have no problem with commercials. They are necessary. However, this app is ridiculous. If the app crashes during a show either because the app is terrible or because you accidentally shut your phone off THEN it crashes, you have to watch tons of commercials just to get to where you left off. Example is Naked and Afraid where Season 5 does NOT exist on the list of seasons. You have to view the last episode of season 4 and fast forward to the end watching 3 minutes of commercials. It will then cycle to the first episode of season 5. THEN you have to fast forward to the end of the first episode, watch another three minutes worth. Repeats that a few times until you finally get to the episode ... THEN watch another 3 minutes worth. You had better hope you get the spot right, because you will have to watch more commercials if you don’t. THEN it crashes. Rinse and repeat. There is no pickup where you left off.

Horrible App!! Way Too Many Commercials!!!👎🏻. I'm really disappointed with this app. I don't mind a commercial or 2, but the amount of commercials in this app is ridiculous! I may watch 5 minutes of a show then a 3 minute commercial comes on. Then repeats this throughout the entire show. I'd really like to use this app because I'm away from home a lot and like the discovery shows, but the amount of commercials makes it almost impossible. This is why Netflix will eventually put Discovery and all other networks out of business. You need to keep up with the times. People want less commercials and more show. Just reduce the number of commercials and how long they run and maybe more people would use this app

Dont bother. Requires you to give over your TV service subscription info and then we have to sit through and watch all the commercials what’s the point of giving over her your information if you have to watch the commercials that are only making the money you pay for the discovery channel on your TV and in the end up giving them more money sitting and watching to the commercials I thought the point of downloading the apps and everything was so you watch your shows without the commercials but if I’m gonna have to watch the commercials on my phone and use my data might as watch it a home I don’t need to waste my data or battery life for commercials

Crappy Commercial system. I understand commercials are used to fund this experience, I would pay to watch everything with out commercials but Discovery doesn’t have that option... Now with that being said, the entire commercial system in place in this app and with the way they have this flow setup is absolutely trash... I have watched 4 seasons of gold rush and have had to watch the exact same commercials over and over and over again.. my favorite part is that 90+% are for a the OWN network, 5% for food network and remaining for other trash... beyond frustrating, time I just say screw it and go do something else

Started off good...gettin sketchy. When I first started using the app it worked great, could shut the phone off or close the app to open a text message and I could pick up where I left off by just going back to the app. That hasnt been the same for the last few weeks and now it doesnt even show that I started watching an episode after I start one. The continue where you left off feature from the menu has never worked, it deletes my favorite shows from my favorites list and feel like the commercials are kind of out of hand. Would give it a 1 star rating but its the only place I can catch up on some series I have missed so I throw it a bone for that.

Great shows on discovery....I think?. Ever wonder how many commercials you can watch in a row....I haven't yet found out because it doesn't seem like the commercials ever stop. I hear there are some new shows on discovery but I have no time to watch them. To busy out buying a new maytag, unwrapping a Reese's peanut butter cup or buying makeup. Took a few minutes to write this, going to go see if gold rush is back on yet. While driving my Ram, on the way to Boeing, with Crohn's disease to trade my Ram in on a leased Chevy truck for only $239 a month with $1500 down I drank a corona.

Great app but skips episodes. This is a great app and it’s casts well to our TV but we have noticed that when we’re watching a series it will skip episodes or if I select an episode to watch it’ll jump 2-3 episodes ahead (ex I select episode 10 to watch but the app will start playing episode 12) and same if we just finished watching Episode 10 sometimes it will skip to 12 completely missing episode 11. Other than that like I said it’s a great app just has this one annoying glitch.

Not what I thought. I downloaded the Discovery Go app because my household does not have cable/ satellite and I’m very disappointed. The commercials are ridiculously long, it’s always the same ones over and over. I watch maybe 4 min of the show and then boom 4 min of commercials. A lot of the episodes are locked. But the worst is that I can’t fast forward 10 seconds like almost all other streaming apps and when I check a text it doesn’t remember where I was and I have to find my location and then watch 6 more commercials. I gave it 3 stars because I love the shows but the app itself needs work.

Crashes and Same Commercials Over and Over. The app frequently crashes and when restarted forces the show episode I was watching be played from the beginning and forces me to watch many commercials when I forward to the point where the app crashed. It seems to have many more commercials than other apps that authenticate with a cable subscription. It also plays 6 - 10 commercials in a row. The same commercials are often replayed multiple times throughout the show. Sometimes a commercial repeats within the same commercial break. As I type this review I am watching an episode of Deadliest Catch and a break of 6 commercials was supposed to play. Instead the app is stuck in a loop constantly playing the first and second of the six commercials. I would give it zero stars if I could.

Incapable of Linking to TV Provider. Sorry, but this app is the worst…. I have worked with Discovery support for weeks to link my TV provider and I still cannot get live streaming or content on any of my AppleTV devices. Discovery is the one app that seems to be incapable of linking to AppleTV devices and their support team from top to bottom doesn’t seem to know why. They blame the TV provider, but I don’t have these issues with the other apps (even Showtime and HBO). Cannot tell you how much of my time, my TV provider’s time, and their support team’s time has been wasted chasing a resolution. The app needs a serious update or rewrite or some security parameter needs to be changed. The rating on the AppleTV platform is 2.3 and Discovery is not addressing these issues. I like Discovery content but have moved on…

Works for me. I saw a bad review about the app crashing and too many commercials. They either fixed it or the person that wrote the review has a very bad internet connection. For me it works amazingly. There are the commercials, but you know, this is capitalism and they have to make money somehow. I prefer watching commercials than paying three times more for subscription.

Love discovery Go BUT.... So I love using discovery go, I finally get to catch up on one of my favorite series. “STREET OUTLAWS” only problem is that after I watch an episode or 2 it’ll pop up with a notification saying that the show is only available to people who have discovery on their cable plan or something like that. It’s kinda annoying having to delete the app and reinstalling it, then punching in my info, just to watch the next episode. I’ve been dealing with this for over a week now and it’s really frustrating to me. Is there a fix to this ?

App kicks paid subscribers out of a binge watch. I’m watching Alaska The Final Frontier, and midway through the third season, it says I need to re-authenticate. Because I guess they took a bet to try for the worst ever user experience award. I’m an easy going guy, so I sign in again. It agrees that I have a valid subscription. But it won’t let me watch my paid content. Yes, there are annoying ads. It’s a good time to grab a snack or take care of personal business, like we did back in the old days when we were trapped into watching broadcast commercials. But watching the same ad 3 or 4 times in a row is I think equivalent to torture by UN standards.

Streaming in 2007. This app would be great if you got a DeLorean up to 88 mph and went back to 2007. But unfortunately time travel doesn’t exist here in 2021, and this app is terrible. It’s terrible on iOS, and it’s terrible on an Xbox. It wants me to continue watching episodes I have finished and they just stay there telling me to continue watching. The ads are ridiculous. There are more ads on here than if you watched it on TV. An hour long show takes way longer than an hour to watch. It’s almost as if they forgot they had this app and service so they stopped developing any updates that actually make it work like it should in the 2020s. Just spend a little time on your UI please!

Advertisement machine. I hardly ever rate apps, but I had to rate this app, it is COMPLETELY ABSURD that I’d have to watch 3:00 min of ads, BACK-TO-BACK for a total of six minutes. I’ve signed in with my tv provider, so at this point I should be getting paid to watch this many ads. This should be fixed ASAP; no one should have to watch so many ads. Also, beware if you use the 10 second rewind button, press it too many times and they’ll serve you up another 3 minutes of ads, even if you just started watching and have just watched 3 minutes of ads right before.

It has its problems. I love the fact I can watch the exclusive shows on the app. The app started out great! My wife got me hooked on N&A and N&AXL and so I wanted to catch up on the episodes. Plus the only way to watch N&A Savage is on the app! So I signed in with my DirecTV info and boom, all the N&A episodes where at my fingertips. Then a day later I went to watch some more episodes and now they are all locked. I click the sign in button, I have deleted and re downloaded the app and nothing seems to work. Very upsetting, I was excited about being able to watch any of the shows at anytime but it isn’t working at all anymore.

Ads. Great if you love to watch ads. Better hope it remembers where you left off otherwise you can either a) not watch the show or b) get ready for 10 minutes of ads to get back to where you were. It didn’t pickup in the bedroom where I left off in the living room (50 min into a 60 min show). I tried to fast-forward to the 50 min mark and when I hit play it took me back to the first ad block. 3 min later I fast forward again to the 50 min mark and it takes me to the second ad block. Long story short, I had to watch almost 15 min of ads to watch the last 10 min of my show. PATHETIC!!! I would give negative stars if possible. It’s also stupid that this is a show thats on both Discovery+ and Go. The newest season isn’t on Discovery+ (the PAID app). Y'all need to fire some people, get with the program.

Terrible. I have had the app for about a week. It randomly doesn’t work - saying its only available to subscribers (which I am!). It constantly crashes making it not even worth trying to watch anything. When it crashes, you can’t go back to what you were watching, have to start from the beginning or try and guess where you left off. Oh and then there are the commercials, which take the same amount of time as the actual show. Just watch your on demand and don’t bother with this app. Can’t believe nothing has been fixed on it (according to the ratings, these issues have been ongoing for 6 months!).

Very nice. I love watching my favorite shows on my phone. I have a iPhone 5 and the app never crashes, I never experience long advertisements and even if I do they only last 3 minutes at max overall very good app. I have xfinity and Comcast for a provider and it. Never crashes and loads very quickly

Seriously Annoying!. The app crashes, a lot!! And if that weren't bad enough, they show way to many commercials. But wait it gets better. As an example, I like to watch Gold Rush and they probably show 40 ads per episode, usually 7 at a time. Each time they showed there block of ads I got to see the same Coke commercial 6 times in a row. My wife said she counted the commercial 30 times during the one show. They don't do that on regular TV, why on the app?

Best app ever. It talks about animals and I like it a lot and I think this is the best app ever I give you five stars because it talks about animals and animals are shown cute I just love them so I just want to watch this all day my first how I got this app my dad showed me and I like it too and you know what you forever and ever and ever

Almost done. Freezes up after every episode. After every episode I have to delete the app, reinstall it then sign in to my provider just to watch one episode. Then it freezes again. Junk app. I complain that I have to delete and reinstall the app after every episode in order to get it to work and your advice is to try and re install it? God help you. Month later still having to delete and reinstall the app then sign into my provider after each episode. Once this series is over, DELETE PERIOD!

Terrible app constantly requires you to log out and back in to access. This has to be the worst streaming app available. I have had to log in and out of my tv provider at least once week to continue using this app. All other apps some how remember that yes, I can access their content while this one continues to fail. I have lost all hope that they will fix this issue as it has been going on for years despite my contact for support. Best of luck.

Unable to cast and airplay issues. Unable to cast from this app to my TV. All other apps work fine. Airplay is not smooth and keeps disconnecting. Also issues when using the app saying the shows I watch are not part of my tv providers plan. I have to unlink my provider and re-link to get it to work. All in all it’s very frustrating every time I try to use this app. So frustrating that I’m leaving this review instead of watching my favorite show.

Absolutely terrible. Every other episode I watch I get an error message and the only way to continue watching you have to completely delete the app, download it again, and sign back into your account. Every. Other. Episode. I know on the grand scheme of things it’s not the biggest deal but literally no other streaming app has this issue and it is very frustrating to have to completely delete and download the app every 2 hours of watching something.

Good when it works properly!. I love the Doscovery Channel and their content especially Shark Week! But for some reason even though i have this channel as part of my cable subscription it tells me I don’t sometimes! That gets rather annoying bc I have to sign out and then back in! But the content is Great when it works!

Greed of commercial money has overcome this channel. I love watching the last Alaskans and Gold rush but I cannot take watching eight commercials half of which run twice in a row and are only considered one commercial. Sometimes six commercials then a 40 sec. clip and then six more commercials. You already pay for this service I just don’t understand why we need so many commercials. Sadly there’s about 10 different series I’d love to watch on this app but there’s no way I will watch the shows because of all the commercials.

Would be 5 stars but WAY too many commercials.. I really enjoy having the app especially on my nights off so I can watch it on my phone and not wake up the family, but the amount of commercials is AGONIZING. Wish it could be like a podcast and just play them at the beginning and get it over with.

Have to keep uninstalling, then re-installing. Love he content, hate the app. After installing the app, the app only works on the first use. After that, when clicking on the app icon, the Discovery Go window opens, then nothing... it just sits there. The only way to make the app work is to uninstall, the re-install... and then it only works the first time it is opened. You would think the app developers would fix this MAJOR problem. All my other apps work perfectly.

Terrible. Not sure what happened, but on my AppleTV, suddenly every time I open the app it wants me to log out and back into my TV provider. Then I keep getting annoying pop-ups to enable push notifications randomly, even during my show. THEN if I pause a show, when I come back to it won’t resume. And if it does resume then pause doesn’t work the next time. I have to force close the app and restart every time I need to pause. I can’t even get the app to work on my phone.

Bad. A commercial is more than enough to say this is terrible. Your obligated to get there add across. If it was free I understand you have to see there sponsors. But if your paying for the service thru a net work to get this app you should have the ability to just see your show but instead it's just like watching it on tv. Rating this app should go a long way but these networks or app designers aren't going to change anything. So for that I rate this 1 star but I'll give it a zero if it was available.

Commercial Hell. I’m just going to reiterate what everyone else is saying here. Terrible app! Commercials are necessary, but if you have to click out of the show before you’re done watching it, especially after you just watched eight commercials, when you come back to the show it starts at the beginning again. In order to get back to where you were you must go through eight more commercials. And you better have gotten it right when you came back to it because if you are off by a few minutes then you’re back in commercial Hell. Terrible app

Won't save favorites. So when i first installed this app i set my favorites and we good to go. But then one day it forgot my favorites and since then it will never remember them. Also it won't remember where you left off on a show so you gotta guess the right spot then watch 7 commercials. Then you get a few minutes of show followed by another 7 commercials. Sad thing is i get less commercials watching it on live tv then i do here. And the commercials are always the same.

Terrible terrible terrible. The app never lets you resume watching a show. It will restart the show and if you try to fast forward to where you left off watching last time your forced to watch a minimum 16 commercials. I shouldnt have to watch 8 commercials only to realize I still need to fast forward some more. It’s 2021 why can I not stop watching then come and resume where i left off later. Discovery should be embarrassed by this app.

Great App. Love the app and I’ve had it awhile I never have any issues with it. What would make it better is if they made the app for your laptop I have Microsoft Windows 10 and it’s not available I go through the internet to watch any shows. Other then that I watch on my phone

Great app but….. I am a fan of Discovery channel. I like the app for being able to select and watch shows I like BUT there are between 24 to 30 commercials per show! This is F R E A K I N G ANNOYING! That is exactly why I do not watch TV. Get rid of those commercial or create a payable app where people will not have to suffer through those adds, I will gladly give you some $ for it, but MEN, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT, please! They drive me nuts!

Cannot clear continue watching. I’ve tried everything to clear the continue watching so I can easily find the show/episode where I left off, but it’s impossible. I even tried scrolling to the end and rewatching tons of commercials AGAIN to see if that clears the episode and it doesn’t work either. Now that HBO and Discovery are a company, please fix this. I understand Discovery Plus has the same issue, so until you fix this, there’s no point in me subscribing to this service. At least I can clear my HBO easily.

Worth it. …cable, is so high, two of my favorite shows, ‘Homestead Rescue and Naked and Afraid’ are here…along with some other shows, I’ve never watched, but will…they have been around a long time, but their reruns will be new for me; so yeah, they get five stars…and I save money…it’s worth it and a win win…download and see for yourself…

I’m glad I’m able to catch up on a few shows. The commercials are REALLY ROUGH. There are 6-8 commercial breaks, 6-8 times per episode! And most of the time it’s the same couple commercials over and over. I honestly think the repeat commercials are less effective because I am now furious about icy hot, parachute bedding, and realtors for their stupid adds. I will a year from now see an icy hot product on the shelf at Walmart and immediately be mad because of their same add I was forced to watch 50+ times in one day.

Good shows just cant watch them. On roku the ads cause the video to stop playing before you can finish a episode. On apple appstore the play button is a link to the download page of discovery plus which is a paid subscription service. I pay tv provider for discovery channel why would i pay more to use discovery plus especially when discovery go is plagued with problems? Seems crazy

COMMERCIALS!. The show we were trying to watch was very interesting, we really wanted to see it, in fact there are several shows we would watch if not for commercials and recaps after commercials. We saw a tower and house destroyed about 8 times..... otherwise the information is great. To bad such interesting subjects are so broken up with advertisements and recaps. I was looking up information about tornados on the internet to find out what happened instead of watching the show.

Used to work. Really liked using this app to watch shows on my iPad. Since latest update it will not run. My iPad is fairly new and using the latest iOS version. Don’t waste your time. History channel app works, so switching to their shows. The developer responded that I need to delete and reinstall the app, which I have done. Works one time, immediately after being installed then fails to start. Appears their solution is to install app each time you want to watch Discovery. Not very convenient.

Too Many One Sided Political ADS. Overall the app is good having shows I enjoy watching and old shows that don’t come on anymore. But the one issue I have is the ads. But more in particular is the political ads. It’s seem they are all one sided and I’m tired of constantly seeing them when trying to watch a episode. Why should I have four political ads back to back while watching a show that deals with repoing airplanes. I mean it’s ridiculous that I can’t even watch a show I enjoy without having political stuff shoved into my face.

Fix your app!!!. You need to fix this app! Love the shows, hate the fact that you can't pick up where you left off and if you try to fast forward to get back you have to watch for about 10-15 minutes of commercials. Ridiculous!

Racing app. I love street racing - good to see it’s on a track, but I can’t navigate the app yet, so it gets very frustrating. My car would have been at the bottom of A-Stock Automatic (401 Wildcat) in 1964 & 1965 if I’d raced on a track (against the 409 Chevy’s). Please make the app easier. Also easier to pick episodes. PLEASE !!!

Terrible App. This app is awful because: 1. It doesn’t let you pick up where you left off. You have to remember which episode and where you were in it to continue watching. 2. When you search for the place you left off, you are bombarded with the same commercials over and over. Every time you move forward in the show to try to find where you left off, you have to endure the same commercials again. 3. Sometimes if the show is running the app doesn’t show you the progress and you can’t move forward or backwards. You literally have to start over at the beginning of episode selection and of course, commercials again. The developers need to take some lessons from Netflix.

Great App fir my favorite channel!. I love the Discovery Channel but just now downloaded the App. My favorite shows are Guardians of the Glades and all things Josh Gates. I have been watching Guardians of the Glades endlessly on tv but now I can watch on my I phone! Yea! Keep The Glades and all of Josh’s shows coming. Sooo Many Commercials And No Option For Commercial Free. There are some programs I really like but I have to stop watching Discovery Channel because half of their shows are commercials. I just can’t have commercials constantly pile-driven into my mind over and over again. Goodbye Discovery Channel. I will find other interesting things to watch without being forced to watch a second of a commercial for every second of program. When you have an option to get rid of the commercials - if it’s reasonable - I’ll think about coming back.

Soooooo many commericals. I think this app has the most commercials out of any other tv app out there. Not to mention how many times the same commercials repeat in the same break. There seems tower joist be more commercials than the actual program I'm watching. Everything else is great. But for this only reason I'm going to give it one star. I hesitate to watch on the app because of the amount of commercial time. Not to mention if you skip you have to watch commercials all over again.

Terrible App. Note this review is for app only .. not content I have no problem watching commercials since I am watching it for free. The problem is if I stop in the middle of episode and continue watching it later I have to watch all commercials again. Also, what app doesn’t remember watch history and at what point you stopped. Every time I continue watching some episode I need to fast forward to point where I stopped watching... This is seriously some crappy software.

Crashes constantly. I love being able to have the app and watch the shows when i have the time to actually watch them but the app constantly crashing is getting ridiculous. I cannot watch a show all the way through because it crashes and its very frustrating. I am just going to put the app on the back burner until this crap is fixed. I spent more time trying to get it to work and back to where it was in the episode when it crashed then i do actually watching it. Please fix the issue!!!

Great!!!. I can’t speak for everybody but I think this is great! I’m a truck driver of 35 years. And I watch this app every chance I get! I get to see all the episodes of Deadliest Catch I’ve missed through all seasons. Sure it has commercials and ads. But they just give me time to do things I need to do before going to bed!

Works when it wants to. This app is excruciatingly frustrating as there’s some kind of issue every other week. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Latest issue today is an error saying the channel is not part my cable package which is 100% false. Get it together. STILL DOESN’T WORK. Received a developer response with a link to their help page. Guess what?!? Click the link and get “OOPS, THE PAGE YOU WERE LOOKING FOR DOESN’T EXIST”. Absolutely horrible.

User-Unfriendly. Continue Watching section does not have a way to go to Show Info - clicking on Info icon just plays video of the one and only episode it thinks I want On Smart TV this means navigating across all tabs one season at a time until you get to the season you are looking for ( I am on Season 4 ) then navigating across all episodes from last episode all the way over to first episode I'm about done trying to watch on TV so I move to my phone No other ability to rewind except the slider bar which sits right on top of the iOS window handle - 19 times out of 20 the window moves with no hope of rewinding The 100 Discovery+ ads I have watched so far almost have me convinced to try it until I remember how bad this preview of the tech behind your video playback has been I didn't know apps could still be this bad

When it worked it constantly crashed. Now it just shows me the startup screen. Discovery should be ashamed of this app. Total garbage. I used to use it while traveling. And it would work when it wanted. I attributed the problem to hotel wifi. Then I tried it at home. Same issues. Then it updated and it won't even start. Another update came along and it still won't start. I've wasted enough of my time with this app. Deleted and most likely won't reinstall it.

Can’t login using direct tv account. That’s app is terrible, so many commercials, the app always crashes half way through a episode which causes me to have to watch a million commercials over again just to find the spot where I was before it crashed and now I can’t login using my direct tv account which means this app is now completely useless because basically every episode on every show worth the time and trouble requires you to sign in. This app needs some serious work. I give this app zero stars.

Worst streaming app by far.. Let me say, discovery has some of the best shows on TV. But, with that being said. This is the worst way to watch the shows. There’s so many darn commercials during episodes. It has actually become a joke now. Every 2 minutes there’s a commercial. It’s such an annoying thing. I’m sick of wasting my time watching an extra 30 minutes just for commercials. And on top of that. When you’re mid episode and decide to cast it on the tv, it makes you rewatch 3 minutes of commercials again! Totally over this app.

Commercial city. The app would be great, BUT it is commercial city! The volume will blast you out of the chair. Most of the time it’s the same commercials over and over. Several times you would start watching the show, of shark week in 2018, and 30 seconds later here come the commercials blasting you out again. I won’t be buying the products either. This is ridiculous. I guess the greed has hit and been hitting for more money.

Almost There. There’s only one thing missing from this app and that’s the back catalog. I missed the last two seasons of Deadliest Catch so I was kinda bummed to find out the current season is the only one available. My only real complaint is the commercials. It gets to be pretty annoying when it plays the same commercial four times in a row.

Only get 3 stars. Ok so haven’t really enjoyed this app to the fullest. It consistently buffers and times out where I have to shut down app and then reopen. At that point I have to completely start over watching what I was watching because it doesn’t have a continue watch and then I have to go through the 500 fing commercials all over again. You really need to work these kinks out discovery

Fake Reviews. The almost 5 star rating is a farce and I guarantee it’s bots from discovery giving it 5 stars. This app is horrid. It’s extremely buggy, and every show is absolutely polluted with commercials, it’s worse than watching TV. Cant select quality. Even with a connection that’s 200 down 200 up it plays in what looks like 480p on an iPad Pro? When it does work, you spend more time watching commercials than your actual show. Discovery sold out and is one of the worst channels in existence anymore. Don’t waste your time with this.

Ads out of control. Start a show? Commercials. Need to rewind? Commercials. Accidentally back out of video? 2 sets of commercials! Need to fast forward? You guessed it, commercials. 5-7 commercials seems to be the average I’m seeing per break. You are not able to fast forward past a commercial break, even if you are trying to get to last half of video. You must stop at each one. Otherwise it is an ok app. Add some quality of life changes and I will adjust my rating.

Love the shows. Had high hopes for the app because I really love the shows. After a few weeks though the commercials got to be too much. Seems there are as many commercials as show content. I am deleting the app as of now, hopefully I can find good content elsewhere without so many commercials.

iPhone 8 Plus iOS 13.3 can’t login to app. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling, waiting a day, and restarting my phone. Simply loads for a second and then acts like nothing ever happened. Sometimes it’ll give me a message at startup to connect to the free shows via WiFi but that never does anything either. Stuck using the mobile website at least for now. Will rate 5 stars when fixed though.

Unusable. Watched many season on discovery website but the app is a joke. Confirmed app crashed and had to reboot 7 times in a 40 min gold rush. Worst streaming app, sad I can’t enjoy discovery on the tv only sitting at my computer desk. It’s been this way for years. Fix it or find someone who knows how to make a streaming app. Who would pay for an app that gives you 10 mins of show time, reset and get an ad every time you do. I watched more ads on discovery than shows.

Download, delete and repeat. I have downloaded the app and signed in on my local cable provider to unlock episodes. Now every time I get back on the app it says I am not signed in with my cable provider. Then I delete the app off my phone, download it again. After that it says I am signed in with my cable provider and I can watch the locked episodes. I have done this every time I have used the app. So far it has been three times.
