Annoying. I opted out from receiving sports new, NHL news, and every 5 minutes, my phone goes off with Channel 8 and NHL news it’s so annoying!

7.18 update on iOS and …. I just keep getting directed to update the app. Deleted, reinstalled… same thing. So much for performance enhancement.

Best News App For Las Vegas. This is by far and away the best news app for Las Vegas and Southern Nevada. The news alerts come fast, and the stories are real news, not slanted one way or another. The I-Team investigations are some of the best news in the region. The only thing keeping it from getting a fifth star from me is the fact that the ads within each story do not flow “smoothly” with the rest of the page as you scroll, and they create a stutter effect on newer iPhones with the higher refresh rate screens. Fox this issue and it’s easily a dove star app.

No longer works. No longer opens correctly. Opens only to make you download the app which is already downloaded.

Awful!!. The app constantly crashes and freezes. Some overpayed executive has instructed anchors and reporters to say Live, Local, Now… Pretentious and extremely annoying!!!

Notification Settings Broken. It’s great that there is a good selection of alerts to turn on or off. Unfortunately “News” seems to be everything. Even though I have “Golden Knights” turned off my phone blows up every time someone scores. This needs to be fixed. 8 News Now is my preferred local news, but if this continues with the Raiders it will be a VERY easy decision to delete the app and use the other networks.

Hockey scores are not breaking news. I have the app set to notify me only of breaking news & traffic, but I still get notified every time the Golden Knights or their opponents score. Hockey game scores are not breaking news. All they do is clutter up the notifications area for real breaking incidents.

Review. You need a weather video section. Otherwise not bad

The new update is terrible. Used to be my go to for local news. Since the new update, the interface is horrible and hard to navigate. There are now more ads then stories.

Just awful. My app is updated yet the last 2 days when I open it, it tells me to update app with an ad the download the KLAS app. Ya can’t update something that’s already updated! Annoying & can’t read the news, etc. Useless app with useless content…only shows the same stories repeatedly. Deleting & going elsewhere.

App update broke the app. The app just says to update the app. Uninstalled and redownloaded. Same thing. Moving to another news app. Been three days of this. Figure it out.

No surprise. Way too liberal. First of all, there are not that many news stories. For example, we get a Golden Knights article every other game. Then they will give breaking news headline with no story attached, just a line that says, “check back later” and never gets updated. I’m not very political, but enough with all of the anti Trump stories, and they still have pro Obama’s stories. Give it a rest. I am deleting this miserable app immediately.

Can’t stream. Every time I open the app and try to live stream, it always says be right back and doesn’t leave the screen. It may pop in on the actual newscast but it lasts barely a minute then goes back to the be right back screen.

Notifications are broken. Too many alerts and when you turn off certain notifications in the app settings they get ignored and still send you notifications. So I deleted the app.

iPad Ver horrible. The iPad version is horrible,,, does no one at news 8 use this on a iPad.,,,, the main app view is distorted in landscape mode and cant see the stories to click on,,, and the stories you do click on take you to a endless loop of video that you cant stop unless you close the app and restart.

Keeps freezing. This app used to be great. Now you can’t even get through 3 news stories before it completely freezes on you. Then you have to close it completely out and go back in. Then after looking at 3 more....same thing. Also using a majority of my data. This is even after turning off the auto video start. The news is good but the app....not so much. I’ve been dealing with this over a month now (iPhone). I’m done with this app.

To update or not to update. It tells you to update to has the app. The link beings us here, where it says the app is in fact, updated. Bottomline: the app is bricked at the moment, avoid it!

Ad pops up every time you log in. And you have to swipe up to get rid of it..annoyance I could tolerate if the content of the app made up for it.

Update Not Available. After downloading the app, when you open it wants you to update app, yet there is no update. Is it a Apple/IOS issue or NexStar/KLAS why app not performing well?

Works for me. This app works for breaking news updates.

New update doesn’t work.. When I open the app I get a message saying to update my app. I go to the App Store where it says I’ve updated to the new app, so I open it and get the message to update my app. A perpetual loop with no news.

Good. When I watch the volume mutes right at least twice within the 40 minutes I watch in the morning.

Broken. The app keeps telling me I need to update the app. I deleted it reinstalled it and I get the same notification.

It’s okay but not a lot of news. Just gives you some few facts but wants you to tune in to watch. I prefer getting news via written than watch.

Used to be Great. Now there’s some air conditioning ad that just freezes everything. Going to download a different news app instead.

Stop the increased volume. Love Chanel 8 News and have been watching for years. However, the increased volume when advertising the station during break is a true disappointment!!! Tribute to Nathan, I’ve put down my phone - now PLEASE put down that volume when you break to advertising the station. I’d be more than happy to give 5 stars after the change. Thank you in advance.

Photos of criminals wanted by Police can’t be zoomed!. App will get 5 stars once you all your users to pinch & zoom to photos of criminals wanted by law enforcement. It once work on previous app versions but not this current one. Example: You will post an article regarding police needing help locating criminal suspect, but when you try to tap the photo for clearer viewing, nothing happens and the public will not be able to properly spot the person the law enforcement is asking help locating…

Doesn’t work. The app sends news alerts but when you try to open it, nothing happens. Been going on for at least 2 months.

Notifications alerts type mean nothing. Being able to customize alerts would be a great thing....but no... they do nothing... I don’t want political or sports alerts but every time there is a Vegas knights game happening, boom alert central...easily 5-10 alerts per game...I turned OFF vegas knights alerts, but still get them

Does not work since update. A blue loading circle is all we see nothing opens/loads. Simply doesn’t work. Overall a poorly coded app.

Update. Used to be able to watch news videos consecutively automatically. Now I have to stop what I’m doing and click on the next article.

Sophomoric journalists. App frequently shuts down unexpectedly. The journalists at 8 news now have trouble with simple grammar and spelling. My kids can write better.

New update made app not work. The most recent update has caused the app to not work anymore…

8 news now. Won’t download it shows open to get but it’s not allowing me to see the news!!!

What happened?. As long as you don’t actually click on any of the news articles to read them and you’re satisfied to read the headlines, the app works pretty well. I’ve tried deleting it and reinstalling, I’ve tried it on several different phones, and this is a brand new iPhone, and I still can’t open any articles. Then the app just locks up. I’d say it’s my phone, but it’s several phones and an iPad as well.

Stories. The channel 8 does not tell the truth on its stories. Plus, they the same like abc, nbc, cnn, CNBC. The special investigation is only certain topics. They do not cover the true crime or report all the crime in the valley.

Not happy about losing my cbs channel with Direct TV. Please resolve the problem fast I’ve been watching Channel 8 since 1985

Go back to the old design. It was so much easier to use.. This update makes your app unusable.

Too many problems. This app crashes to much. It’s hard to scroll through stories. I guess I’ll have to find another news app. Bummer I liked this before the update.

Notifications.. Unfortunately this app is unusable, I keep getting bombarded with notifications from the knights games! I don’t have sports alerts enabled! Uninstalled..

Always Behind and Absurd Lead Stories. The title says it all. Really significant world, national, and local happenings that I can find on other media as they happen are late on this app.

Don't download!!!!. The old app was soooo much better. This new one has so many issues. My notifications are worthless because I can't ever see the stories I get notified for. It's seems like it never updates at least not like the other app. Always the same old stories. The whole app looks like it's a website instead of a user friendly app like the old one was. Very disappointed.

Well, it was working. Up until recently, this app has worked just fine. Now there's an ad that repeatedly pops up over the stories, making it impossible to read. Also, there's a story about a home invasion that's been there at least a couple months. Surely something else has happened in that category in that time.

Voted Worst News App By Me. They had a pretty good news app. Then they "upgraded" to this piece of junk. They even send out alerts telling you to disregard everything they are telling you. So find another news app as fast as you can until the powers that be figure out that this app is stinking up their ratings and driving the audience to other outlets.

Terrible. This app is really bad. You click on a story to read and it just takes you to a scroll menu. Plus it just looks terrible and very amateur. The old app was much better.

Keeps shutting down. I like channel 8 news but the app just keeps shutting down while I'm reading or watching a story. Need an update asap.

Fix notifications. Please stop sending me 80 push notifications for the same thing. I get it, there's a thunderstorm and flash flood alert. I'm not a goldfish I don't forget every five minutes. Also....what all these other guys said.

Don't bother. Loaded the new app to discover that the Breaking News splash page never changes from the first day the app loaded. No dates or time. Stale news for the city is disrespectful.

Terrible, uninstalling. Add pops up, completely blocking screen every few seconds while you are reading an article. This is a new issue. App used to be fine. Getting rid of it now. Try fox5 or channel13.

Hehe. While the app definitely has its issues, (which the old app didn't have...), I give it three stars for the amusing apologetic-alertd, after all the OTHER re-alerts, serving to remind users of all the Vegas local news from last week. 😎

News 8 NEVER!. This latest version is pathetic at best and still hasn't been fixed. "Breaking news" that is far from it... Stories that do not match up to the "categories" they are in. Apparently, no one works at channel 8 anymore...

I miss the old app. The original app was so much more user friendly. I wish you guys hadn't changed to this new one.

Awful. If it ain't broke don't fix it! The older app was so much more user friendly. I keep getting "ignore that notification, the app is having technical difficulties"....I ended up deleting it and getting channel 13's news app so I have local news on my phone.

Poor app breaking news doesn't work correctly. This app looks portly put together. Dark, small and looks like a ported Internet site. To offer this after the last app from 8news is an embarrassment. On top of that the breaking news alerts don't even work half of the time. Shows it then says not available or shows old breaking news. Sometimes loads all breaking news at once for the week. Bring the old app back it was far better and worked. Nice to see they spent more time getting ads working than on the new part of the app

New App OK. I haven't had any issues with the articles coming up or clicking on any of the categories and receiving the information. Where is the LIVE reports? taped ones? No videos? What I am not pleased with is the dark black background, color font and categorization. It's not very easy on the eyes. This app is definitely much different than the previous and as of right now I much prefer the old one.

Horrible app that never updates the news. Horrible app. The UI is horrific and non-appealing. Oh and I wish the news would actually be updated and the app more interactive. A lot of work to be done before reinstalling.

Difficult. This new App is difficult to navigate thru. The old one was way better. There was glitch on the weather on the old app but this one is just far worse in every aspect.

Search. There is no search icon that I can find.

Go back to the drawing board. While I do understand the need to evolve I don't understand why you would release a half baked app that sets you back in functionality and design.

Links do not work. This new app is unorganized and hard to find what I'm looking for. Then when you find the link and click it, the app doesn't go to the story you wanted. So bad.

Worthless. Links to stories either don't work or don't load correctly. Don't waste your time with this app!

Baffled. Why in heavens name did you ruin a good- working app with an update that is just plain useless? Which "genius" came up with this? Why fix what ain't broke. But saddle us wIth this broke BS? YOU SERIOUSLY NEED TO FIX THIS PIECE OF CRAP!!!

Worst App I've Used. This app's design is horrendous. I don't understand why 8 News Now took a major step down with this "new" app. Extremely hard to navigate, awful font choice, and just overall bad! It looks like I'm going to have to use another news channel. Poorly designed is an understatement with this app. Way to go, 8 News Now!

Painfully useless app. This used to be an ok app for getting Las Vegas news. Unfortunately, their news alerts generally do not link directly to the story. Usually, I just got a notice about a dead link when clicking on the notification. Worse, once I find a video I'd like to see, there is a fairly long ad before the story. Fine, I understands that the station needs to make its money somehow. When I finally get to the video which plays for about 30 seconds, and then the app crashes. When I reopen the app to watch the same video, I have to watch another ad. I've deleted this app from my devices.

Update the app. What a joke. Get with the IT. The upgrade is not working.

This app is garbage.. The old app was mediocre but at least it worked. This one is AGGRESSIVELY BAD. It looks bad. It resends tons of old alerts. Then alerts have to be send out just to say they are having technical problems. And there's been no updates since launch. Bad play Channel 8!

Terrible layout. I love channel 8 news but when they changed the app to this new format it is hard to navigate and not easy to read. I think you should consider revamping your layout. I now read news on fox 5's app.

Breaking news should be worth breaking from..... KLAS is my preferred local news channel. BUT PLEASE REVIEW YOUR POLICY FOR WHAT IS WORTHY OF BREAKING NEWS! Not to be cold or callus, but to identify as BREAKING NEWS a story on a 'dog bite in valley home' or a 'pedestrian hit by car' is to cause unnecessary noise. I value the ability to get TrueType breaking news, but if this continues I will find it else where. Give us the ability to choose what classifies as breaking news worthy, ask your viewers, review your policies. Breaking news is something that IS happening or can not wait till the the regularly scheduled evening or morning broadcast.

Ads ads all of a sudden ads. So I have used this app for a long time, it has always had banner adds at the bottom of the page as well as adds worked in between stores, and ads before you watch any video no matter how many videos you watch you never get a free one. However, recently on top of all of this full screen takeover ads have begun to appear. Ultimately its a good app if you can get to it through all the ads.

New update. What happened???? New update is a joke! I receive an alert click to read the story and receive an error message that the story is old or gone?? Then I log into another news station only to find out that it's not old. Please fix this! I don't want another news app.

Advertisements!. I like the weather part BUT HATE how an advertisement keeps popping up every 6 seconds! I can't read anything! I just gave up and moved to another LV news app. The layout isn't the best either. Definitely a miss.

Ineffective and useless update. This is not a news app...there is very little news reported on it. The font is too small even on a iPad. Not easy to use.

Terrible!. I just uninstalled the app. The reason I did, is because of the obnoxious ads. They are so bad, you can't read the news story. I thought I installed a "news" app, instead I got an "ad" app. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Just Awful!!. I like 8 News Now, but this updated app is horrendous! No live stream of the news broadcasts, and difficult to maneuver. Maybe these huge disappointments will be corrected, but the older version should've been left up and running until this new version was completed.

No live news stream = delete. I used to love this app when it had live news. It is now deleted and I watch live stream/get Vegas news daily from a different Vegas news station

Broken App... Please Fix. Weird stuff going on this new app... I'm getting updates on breaking news... But I can't read details anymore, I can't even load the app, (& haven't been able too for quiet awhile😔) it just kicks me out!! I love News 8... So getter done!!

Breaking News? From a week ago.... The breaking news banner advertises breaking news from a week earlier. Dumb.
