Fun, Needs Minor Things. Great game! Recommend adding a mini map. Also, initial aiming with right virtual stick causes auto-shot to be shot in the direction opposite of which I was going for. This is a little annoying but not a big deal since ammo is limitless.

Worth Trying BUT.... The game has a nice polish. The settings, the UI, the way when pausing it shows weapon/power/perks. A big PLUS for me is all the upgrades you can do AND NOT LOSE THEM ONCE YOU DIE. Some games have you lose not only whatever perks you got BUT also the LEVEL YOU GOT UP TO. All around fun game. BUT, con for not offering a male character. Not a huge thing since the characters are so small. Once you pick a person all the names are female though. The MAJORITY of the people who purchased this game is male. O well.

Fantastic in every way. I was bummed to find Robotron 2084 is nowhere on the App Store. Neon Chrome though makes me significantly less bummed. Phenomenal twin stick shooter with a pretty neat premise and great soundtrack. Highly recommended.

A Fun Distraction. This game has everything a simple mobile port needs. Easy controls, addictive gameplay loop, and a clear objective to guide you forward. Everything is randomized so no two runs are ever the same which keeps things fresh for awhile. And there is still enough complexity where you won’t turn your brain off completely since this game is still very challenging and you are guaranteed to die a dozen times before you get the grasp of things. Overall for the price I’d say it’s worth it and it has enough content to please my small brain :) Hope this helps or something I don’t really care, eat a bagel dipped in mustard or whatever.

Well done and fun. This top-down shooter is fun and well made. Gameplay gets harder as you finish each level - the levels repeat with more and tougher enemies each time. I'm a fan of the top-down genre so I'm a bit biased. This game will eat your battery for lunch so be prepared. The game offers a lower battery consumption option with the trade off of a few momentary slowdowns as other apps take control. I've experienced a few glitches such as my player getting stuck in a corner but that was only once. Loot tends to get stuck in beds so wait until they move away to shoot them. My one major complaint is the cut scenes and voice overs get very, very tedious after playing many levels. Please provide a switch to disable them!

Fun so far. I have only been playing this for a short time so far... But I am enjoying it. Decent controls with external controller. Wish they could be customized slightly to my liking tho. I enjoy the music, sound effects and graphics. It remains to be seen just how randomized the levels are, but so far I have seen a good variety. It seems the boss levels might be static in design but I'll have to play a lot more to verify that. I suspect it will take me some time to manage a full playthrough and if the levels do indeed show good randomization then it should be a worthy purchase the will bring hours of fun.

Fun game. Don’t listen to anyone but me because I am the only person qualified to objectively review this game and everyone else is wrong! Seriously, I enjoy this game. Good time waster, catchy music, and nice character customization. Just a little hard to see on an iPhone 8 plus screen. I reviewed this game based on experiences using a controller, so check out others on controls for touch screen since I don’t use them. I do feel I need to mention the Nimbus controller is correlated to some significant frame rate drops.

Love this game! Worth the 10 dollars!!. This is like a newer Robokill style combat setup survival game! Exactly what I was looking for. Lots of replay-ability and every game is randomly generated, so it’s an addicting new adventure every time.

Best iPhone game I've played. No IAP, worth the money. The only game that comes close to touching this one are those from Klei, like Don't Starve and my favorite invisible Inc.. Well done to the developers for capturing the spirit of old school gaming. Would love to see more from developer on iOS.

Vintage resolution in 2018?. Game is unplayable, resolution very low on 3rd gen IPad Pro, NOT optimized for new devices, interesting that you can just plain lie and accept payment. Do not buy if you have a new device, just break out the sega genesis and hook it into an 80s projection screen tv and you’ll get same result.

iOS Game Of The Year!!!. Well, at least for me anyway. If you are a fan of ANY roguelite and the Hotline Miami series, then this is going to probably be your new favorite iOS game as well. This game is near perfect! My only setback is as one of the other reviewers stated, it will drain your full battery in less than an hour and make your phone overheat real bad IF you leave it on high display settings. THIS IS IMPORTANT! Anyone having either of these issues, go into the options menu>display settings>from here you can customize any of the settings, but I recommend to turn it onto LOW if you plan on playing this game for a long time like I do. This will cure ALL the overheating and battery drain issues, the only sacrifice with this that I have even noticed is a MARGINAL decrease in some of the real bright neon colors in the game. After 10 minutes of playing on this setting though, I didn't even notice it anymore, and have now been enjoying hours & hours of gameplay with no overheating and battery drain past normal battery consumption. And for the people that complained about not having a manual reload button, the tutorial tells you in the beginning you can turn the reload button on in the settings! I've had the reload button the whole time! After you turn the initial display settings down to low & turn the reload button on, this game plays amazing and I rarely ever rate games, especially rarely with a high rating and I can confidently say this is my game of the year! Btw, I am playing on an iPhone 6s Plus 128gb.

Best five bucks I've spent on an iOS game. It's a simple game: shoot and kill your way up through 25 or so levels until you're able to take out the final boss and replace the "Overseer." Gameplay is smooth and the graphics are great. You use dual-stick controls and the whole experience is dramatically improved if you use a game controller, such as the SteelSeries Nimbus. After you've finished the first set of levels, the game starts over at a higher level of difficulty. It's addictive and fun.

Wow. Amazing. You choose wether to go stealthily, or just blow everything and everyone to shards. Great graphics and an amazing soundtrack, this game kept me coming and coming back for more explosive action. Probably my favourite game on mobile.

Need Apple TV support. Game is awesome but I really want Apple TV support badly with iCloud syncing/ come devs lets turn this game into a console game!!!!!

Great Game with MFi Joystick support. Way better than I expected. Great game once you accept the idea of your character dying in order to improve next round. Easily worth the money. PS. This is more frantic than Space Marshals, and about on par with Halo for brainless enjoyment. I like all these games, but find Neon Chrome is the most addictive of them all.

Fun game. I only just beat the first boss on floor 6, but it's fun so far. Good music, neat mechanics too.

Superb!. This is a very well made game. Extremely polished and gameplay is deep. One of the best I've played in a while.

Really nice port!. I usually play this game on PS4, but this is a very respectable port that addresses many of the issues that other twin-stick shooters seem to suffer from. My only complaint is an occasional stutter with the frame rate. The game itself is first rate. It's a thoughtful evolution of the genre that brings a lot of freshness. You could kind of call it a twin-stick roguelike.

Roguelike Cyberpunk RPG Shooter. All those things shouldn't work together but they do. Beautifully. Lots of fun.

Neon Chrome. While I understand not making the iOS build as robust as the Steam version... it still kind of stinks. This is a fantastic game, and would have only been made better by including online modes. Don't let the fact that there's 'only' 25 levels turn you off... it's 25 levels for each playthrough... once you beat Overseer 1.0, you move on to replaying and beating Overseer 2.0... 3.0... ect... there is always more challenge to be had. The additional battery saving mode, and extra graphics options allows for smooth gameplay across quite a few devices, all the way back to the iPhone 5. So... if you're running iOS 8 or above, and interested in twin-stick roguelikes... you should definitely dig deeper into this one to see if it's something you'd like. I know it'll never get deleted from my device.

I really like this game. I want to see..... 120 hz support for 13 pro and the addition of mods just like the PC version.

Great game even for those of us that are not elite shooters. Twin stick shooters & roguelikes are two styles of game that I always want to like, but usually don't. Neon Chrome bucks that trend thanks to smooth controls, balanced difficulty, and a sense of progression between runs.

Case. Currently at OS 21, most fun I have had with a top-down shooter in a long time. Smoothly operating, relatively trouble-free game. Thanks!

Get Xenowerk, Halo, or Space Marshals instead. Get Xenowerk, Space Marshals, Space Marshals 2, Halo Spartan Assault or Halo Spartan Strike instead. Like Neon Chrome, all five of those games are twin stick shooters, but all five of those games are vasty, vastly better in every way (fun, graphics, controls, setting, gameplay, enemy types, enemy variety, immersion, animations, solidity of combat, weapons, story (for Space Marshals 1 and 2)), presentation, and you can buy any three three of them for less than Neon Chrome costs all by itself. At 99 cents, Xenoworks is 10 times the game and ten times the fun Neon Chrome is, and it's 1/10th the cost. You can get both Halo games together for half the cost Neon Chrome is alone, and both are way, way better (the only thing the Halo games are missing is the ability to level up your character). I've played Xenowerk for hours and plan to play it more (it's a fantastic game that's an absolute steal for what they are charging); I've played Neon Chrome for about 30 minutes and had to force myself to keep playing after the first couple in the hope that it would get better (it didn't). Xenowerk, both Halo games and both Space Marshal games also support external controllers as well. All five games have great touchscreen controls that felt better to me than Neon Chrome, but all five are even better with an external controller. Neon Chrome should at least support MFI controllers.

FUN addition to the Top Down Military fps genre. I play iOS Halo & Xenowork, & I find this a VERY worthy addition to this growing & effective sub-genre of iOS gaming. I find Neon actually less repetitive than Xenowerk, a game whose graphics & gameplay I ❤️ deeply. The levels are really challenging, & the Bosses are really tough, in a fun challenging way. I'm early in, & I'm really impressed. I'm having as much fun with this as I had with iOS Halo, although with a LOT more neon.

Not full screen!. The game is truly fabulous, but the newest update doesn’t add support for the iPhone X. The game is not full screen. After reinstalling the game to see if the newest update Finally supported full screen on modern iPhones, I found that my progress was lost. Apparently they don’t utilize iCloud for game saves.

Great game!. Great game. Once you get used to the touch controls it's better than the console version. But I think on iOS Leap of Fate is the best cyber roguelite.

iPad Pro!. Neon Chrome is one the best roguelite twin-stick shooters. It works great with a Nimbus controller and iPad Pro. Epic.

I really want to this play this but.... the game is stuck in a small box in the bottom left corner. I have reinstalled the app and rebooted my phone. Any suggestions would be great, the gameplay looks really cool!

Best mobile game I've ever played. This game has every element needed for a game to be entertaining. Not impossible, but difficult enough, an actual storyline, cool weapons, great gameplay and even a great soundtrack. Highly recommend buying this one, well worth the money. Very refreshing change of pace from all the "pay to play" games that have infected the mobile game market. If I had any complaint, and it's not even a complaint really since I figured it out rather quickly, there could be a better tutorial for the controls. Otherwise a five star game. Very well made.

Good so far. Pretty good after a few levels

Brilliant twin stick w/RPG elements. I picked this up on Steam a few months back, and I'm still playing it on the PC. When I saw it on the app store, I didn't hesitate to pick it up. In terms of content and sheer fun, NC is in the same league as Enter the Gungeon, Binding of Isaac, or Nuclear Throne. The translation to iOS is brilliantly done, with the controls and aim assist combining to make NC easy to play on both my iPhone 6+ and my work phone (iPhone 6). The only hitch is in using secondary abilities (like missiles etc)... It can be a bit awkward on the larger screen. The devs have implemented a helpful "slow-down" mechanic (game time slows to a craw to allow you to comfortably aim the secondary fire) which mitigates the issue a bit. There's an absolute ton of content here. Each run is procedurally generated, and you have to complete multiple runs to unlock all the equipment/skills/traits... Of which there are a small mountain. Graphics and audio are both outstanding, and set the mood beautifully. (In fact, I'd love to be able to buy the soundtrack)... It feels very Shadowrun / Bladerunner / Neuromancer -y. If twin stick shooters or ARPG's are your poison, give this a crack and you won't be sorry.

Good port from PC. This is a great top-down twin-stick shooter. Originally on PC, Neon Chrome has been ported to iOS and runs reasonably smoothly on my iPad Pro. Plays well using a MFi controller.

Good?......oh yes!. I normally don't buy action twin shooters as I find them to be usually too hard and too frantic to enjoy. Neon Chrome, while at times is hitting the frantic pace, is a twin shooter that relies more on good positing and careful aiming. The difficulty is excellent giving a good challenge while not being frustrating. It is a true pleasure to play in both short bursts and longer play sessions.

Great progression and graphics. Tense and tight without being a splatter fest. Feel tactical.

Awesome game. Haven't been able to put it down. Worth every penny. If you love top down shooting games mixed with awesome upgrades, weapons and explosions. Then this is a must get.

Best game ever. fantastic totally worth the price

Pretty good!. The controls take a bit of getting used to as the movement doesn't really feel like the character is walking, more like gliding. The power up options are well done and the game is challenging enough. I recall seeing complaints on battery consumption but if you go into the options there are battery conservation options like reduced frame rate etc. That made a big difference.

No restore purchases button. Bought the dlc to the already over priced game and lo and behold there’s no way to transfer it from my iPad to my phone. It’s a good game but it won’t get more than three stars for the Inconvenience and impact on my wallet. Will change review when problem is solved

Game is Fun. Running it on a IPad Air 2. No complaints except the FPS drops occasionally when I toss loads of grenades.. Price drop 50% a week after I buy it makes me feel a little meh. Music makes up for it though :)

Exquisite game!. My only gripe is that it can’t go from landscape to portrait screen mode interchangeably. This is a very important feature if you want to recharge your phone while playing the game. One might think a game such as this wouldn’t be able to do such a thing but “The Binding Of Isaac” did it, and it has quite a similar play style when it comes to an Action-Roguelike-Shooter, so I think if the devs looked into this they could accomplish it. I mean, the game is perfect in every way otherwise, so I think this feature is only a matter of time. Ps: the controls take a minute to get used to as apposed to being automatically a synch because, in my opinion, without controls such as the ones in this game, everything wouldn’t be so amazingly tight and tactical. Good job devs, Took me a while to realize anything that could make this game better, and the screen orientation flip is all I can think of. Please don’t let me down, phones just don’t have long enough battery spans for a game as exquisite as this, especially if I am running my tunes in the background with it. Ps: will change star rating to 5 if this is implemented.

Neon Chrome!!!. Surprising easy to control for touch screen. This games awesome!!!! And works with bluetooth controller. Im playing it on iPad air 2. It gets a little be choppy at times but after some updates this is going to be a must have game on everyones tablet. And buy this game on steam!!!

GREAT GAME! Buy it now!. I already bought this game on PS4 but I needed a copy for my iPad too. I'm a huge fan of twin stick shooters and this is one of the best. My favorite parts are: a stealth component, destructible walls/cover, and upgrades that carryover between runs. Ridiculously great replay value (I sound like an ad). Visuals and music are similar to Far Cry, Blood Dragon or perhaps Hotline Miami. Lots of goodies the more you keep playing. I predict this game will be featured in a month or two.

Amazing game with a MASSIVE setback. First off the game itself is fantastic. I truly enjoy playing it.. Therein lies its greatest issue however.. this game will drain my 1 week old iPhone 7 plus battery from 90% down to 20% in less than an hour. I have played a few dozen other of my hardware intense premium games and have yet to see one that even comes close to being this bad. I can easily see this game draining the entirety of my previous 5s battery in 15 to 20 minutes. This NEEDS to be fixed. Great game and will gladly update review to 5 stars but not as long as I have to play it only while charging!!

Solid.. I am running this on an iPhone 7+ The game runs smooth. Controls have an adjustment period, but once you get that down, it's very fluid. Story is decent enough, but the game isn't about the story. Randomly generated levels are great, different enemies in different spots every time, makes it easier to get through the constant dying and respawning. Fun 80's style soundtrack , really resonates with the color theme and design of the game. Overall satisfied, looking forward to future updates. (That's why it's 4star, because the game has just come out) PS Recent update greatly improved the battery drain issue. That shows the development team is keeping an eye on the game. Perhaps a multiplayer addition in the future? Melee weapons?

My New Favorite Twin Stick Roguelike. And one if the best game, I have ever played on an ios device! Way to go! Beautiful, balanced, and un-put-downable! Easy to pick up for a quick couple of minutes, and easy to get lost in, for way more than a couple of minutes! This is worthy of insta-buy status! ✨

Fan-funking-tastic!. I'm seriously so glad I got this on a half off sale. It said it may be clunky because of how old my phone is (5c), but with the graphic settings set to low it works great. If it's still on sale, oh should seriously get it while it's cheap(er).

Co-op?. Hey guys in your game description for the arena dlc it mentions coop 1-4 players, does it actually work, or is that just the pc and ps4 versions?

InstaBuy!!!. I was fortunate enough to play the alpha and beta versions, and even though I have dozens of hours logged into my character, this purchase was a no brainer. The controls are excellent, the setting and music are fantastic, and the overall design and gameplay are awesome. The Rouge Lite elements don't hinder your progress as they do in so many other games. The only suggestion I would make is, BRING BACK THE RELOAD BUTTON🙏. This is hands down the best twin stick RPG shooter on iOS. (I'm not sure if that's an actual genre, but I sure hope it becomes one. Someone please make a top down twin stick open world RPG shooter version of Borderlands, or a Diablo meets GTA😁)

Cyberpunk Awesomeness. Extremely solid game, what's also great is that they listened to the reviews and added a battery save option. This is a great roguelite if you're a fan of the genre. If you want something a little different than leap of fate (another great roguelite) this would be it. Support the developers! Not many premium games like this hit the App Store so when they do I always feel it's best to show your support to let the mobile gaming market grow into something more than freemium titles 👍🏽

5 bucks well spent!. This is a great game by a great developer. I have always enjoyed playing their games and Neon Chrome is no exception! In fact it is raising the bar even further. It is a great overhead, FPS that has just enough depth too make it immersive. They have made the controls even smoother, if that were possible. Great graphics and sound that is "just enough" to make I'd captivating, with out eating up your memory! Considering $5 can be spent on a common fast food lunch, this game appears to have huge legs and even though I am just starting, looks to have lengthy gameplay. The developer has always been great about updating and adding content. After the $5 you initially pony up, there is nothing else to purchase. You just have to keep getting better and can replay X forever until you do, if necessary? This is a solid 5* game IMO! If you like their other efforts, you will love this one for sure!!

Great game. This game has me hooked buy it now before price goes up but if it does buy it anyway it's that good. Update: okay this game is so great I can't stop playing. played thru 10 times and the levels get harder and better every time. I have over 1000 games this is easily in my top 5 games. Get this game.

I <3 10tons. Me thinking this is the best twin stick I've played since Crimsonland. It's made by the same company. Of course it is. In the spirit of useful reviews, however, the 3rd boss is easier than the 2nd boss. The turrets are a really cool addition, but the truth of that boss is that you can negate everything he does by strafing back and fourth. Maybe look into it a bit.

Mind you I am not a huge fan of that genre but after reading it's sweet but short summary I decided for its price it seems in depth for what it is limited to. I would have spent even more on this game. I plan on getting it for my PC. It's incorporated shading, visibility, ability upgrades, progressive dungeon crawling, weapons, stealth, or loud gameplays, with nearly infinite playability. I hope to see more from them in regards to customizing and button placement. As of now I feel like there aren't enough classes. I feel like there could be more. As a new game it is great. It needs to be updated but I have a feeling they will listen to their fans.

Oh my Gosh!!!!!. This game is EPIC!!! A fun duel stick shooter with a great look and absolutely spot on controls. The choice of guns and upgrades and perks make this game a strong competitor for GOTY. The price is beyond worth it and plenty of levels and boss fights. Woooo! Jumping back in right after this review.

Good. Good fun

Great game, but bad technical issues. This looks and sounds great. They seem to really have done a good job with the gameplay and feel of this one. However, it runs terribly on my iPad mini 4 with the latest iOS. To my eyes it's 20 frames per second. Really choppy. I have to turn all settings to low to make it 30-40 fps. On my iPhone it runs like butter at 60 fps, but I want to play on the iPad. Fix this and this would be a 4 or 5 star game no problem.

Very nice.. Exciting combat with destructible environments and a cool soundtrack, worth every cent.

A comparison of three two stick shooting games.. I bought Neo Chrome, Space Marshall, and Xenowerk. So, let me compare these games. Generally they all have there own merits. They are all well polished, all have great graphics, all belong to top games league in App Store. But they all have some problems that make them not worth five stars. Neo Chrome and Xenowerk are both very repetitive after while, especially Xenowerk, every map is almost the same. Neo Chrome is little better, but not too much. For me, the biggest trouble is they both provide only few enemy types. There are only few robots and human in NC, and five or six type of aliens in XW. That is very disappointing. No matter how great the graphics are, how fancy those guns are, shooting same enemies again and again soon becomes very boring. Plus the random created but similar maps, make them even more boring. And in NC, the enemies’ AI is too low, most time it feels like you are shooting sitting ducks. XW’s enemies are much better. They are very aggressive. But still with only handful types, aggression couldn’t save the game. SM has, however, a clear storyline. It is less repetitive, less boring. But the trouble is the hero walks like 80-year-old man. The moment I saw that, I’ve already lost interest. It boasts strategies, but I fail to see any. It is just an old man tries to shoot other old men. In the end, I couldn’t finish any of these three games. But I’m not gonna say they are not worth the money. Only like most games in App Store, these games are still way behind those great PC games.

Nice. Yo it's awesome game but slim the price to 5 bucks and add co op survival

Wow!. This game is fantastic. Great controls, some of the best on screen controls I've used. Very unique graphics, tons of little details too like spent bullet casings littering the ground after a huge firefight. Great progression system, cool weapons, smooth gameplay, intriguing levels and story. This game is a must buy for anyone who takes gaming seriously on their iOS device.

waste of money. Cannot save progress. What modern game does not have such a feature. Get NOVA for free. Its ten times better.

Incredibly fun. This is one of the most enjoyable games I've played on iPhone in years. The visuals, sound, gameplay and overall feel of the game are brilliant. Highly recommended.

Fun shoot-em-up. Good gameplay, somewhat banal gameplay but if you treat trait selection it's got some game.

Amazing twin stick shooter. Pros Engaging and very fun game with good controls. Can save and exit game at each level. Permanent incremental upgrades from previous runs credits. Meaningful enhancements. Variety of weapons. Cons How upgrades work is not explained well. What I've learned so far is you can purchase an unlocked upgrade to start your next run. Tips: Turn down graphics to low to save battery and prevent phone heating!! The health regen class is very good at staying alive. The enhancement to give increasing credits at each floor gives huge dividends.

Great game. It's a great game only problem I have is the aiming. It has auto aim but you still need to aim in that direction to fire. It would make more sense to have an auto aim and let the player just push the shoot button
