MusicStreamer Comments & Reviews 2026
MusicStreamer Review. One positive thing is finally a player that allows a playlist. Now for what is missing from this app. Although the same app developer here is the same for FileBrowser you cannot play songs that are stored on your phone. Such a mystery why this option is not there. This app does not offer a cross fade option so that you can blend from one song to the next to eliminate the silent gap between songs. Overall yes it does play your music from a network source but it is missing a very basic option to play songs you spent a lot of time downloading to your phone.
Near perfect. I had been looking for years to find a player for my networked music, but one that had the database reside on my phone: this works perfect and far passes my expectations. Initial scan (of a very large collection) just took minutes, secondary scan finished later in the day. I find the iPad GUI a little nicer than the iphones, but both are beautiful. Some actions seem a little clumsy, like erasing current playlist, but must work well and are neatly presented. Download (for offline play) is very efficient. Never crashes. Original setup of network far better than other apps I’ve tried. Worked very good at demonstrating how messy my genres were, so I did the manual re-tagging (whew) and then rescanned. Only little complaint, on my set-up, it takes 20-25 seconds for music to start on first start of a session. After that, though, all selections and skips are immediate. One of my favorite apps!
Excellent app. Missing support. Great app, three things missing 1- Reach support team (share contact please) 2- Change the User Interface Text Size 3- Lookup songs metadata and retrieve missing info and album cover
Great update!. Long-overdue update brings multiple improvements to what has always been a rock-solid streamer. Some of the major streaming services could look to these guys for tips! However 2 minor improvements 1) Clicking the search icon should bring up the keyboard for entry - you shouldn’t have to then go to the search box for this to happen, an unnecessary extra step. 2) Playing offline albums is funky and for some reason takes pressing the play icon multiple times before anything happens. Otherwise a rock-solid update congrats to the team behind it.
Everything I need. When I found this app, I almost couldn’t believe it. It solved so many of my current issues. I’m a user of pc on desktop, but iPhone for mobile, so I’m always looking for programs that are friendly cross-platform. MusicStreamer provides a robust music manager and player that casts easily from my PC home server to my Chromecast Audio units, which was the main reason I got the app. Flawless solution to this problem. I was also looking for a way to transfer files from my pc to my phone without iTunes, which I did not want to install on my pc. MS allows easy downloading and removal of music files, which can then be played using the regular manager while you’re on the go. I have a large library of hi-res music files- mostly FLAC. MS supports these formats when casting or listening on your phone. It’s compatible with tags used in MediaMonkey (which I use) so my files were already structured correctly, and accessing them required no work. Finally, playlist building is fast and easy. I have no complaints. This is a lightweight, solidly featured program that’s makes it easy to access your whole library from your phone
Finally !. Brilliant app that faultlessly plays my CD collection (ripped to FLAC & stored on a thumb drive on my wireless router). Have tried multiple iOS DLNS/uPNP streamer apps and this is the only one that works faultlessly - on both my iPhone and iPad. It reads tags accurately, displays album art and sounds great. Delighted. A YEAR LATER It's now over a year since getting this app and still discovering great new features. Just superb.
Fantastic App!!!. So nice to have easy access to my full music collection whether the files are FLAC, AAC, MP3 or others. Two suggestions, please, 1) offer ability to sort by track # instead of file name and 2) add a Genre selector similar to the current Album and Artist selectors.
Great Product. I am an iPhone user, but I have 9000 songs I ripped from CDs I purchased over 20 years on a hard drive that I can’t listen to on iTunes. This app lets me have access. Easy to do. Easy controls. Thanks.
Flexible digital audio streaming. Seamlessly streams my collection of digitized music. Most are stored on local NAT drive. Nice interface and reliable streaming. Works as desired.
Keeps getting better! 😍. Fast, easy to use music app. More apps, and their companies should be like this. Well done.
Needs work. In offline mode. First, you can’t track backwards to the previous track. Interface needs tweaking, because you can’t find some basic tools like deleting a track. And this is the worst offender, RANDOM really isn’t RANDOM! I have about 1,000 songs and I CONSTANTLY hear the same tracks, sometimes writhin minutes of each other.
The Music App I Would Develop. I’ve been using MusicStreamer for several years now, and I’m amazed how well it has met my needs. It’s configurable, but without introducing a learning curve. Plenty of times, I’ve thought “if I’d written this myself, I’d make it do X,” and it turns out the app does indeed do exactly that. Huge fan, no notes, 10/5 stars. Platform: iPhone, music on NFS share from TrueNAS
Keeps getting better. Version 6 is awesome. It seems to scan large collections much faster now. I like the play history option. While it would be nice to have a “back” option to play a previous track in the normal play queue, this queue assists with that. The EQ option is a plus though I have not had an opportunity to try it outside of using a soundbar. And.... color themes!!! Thank you. I always look forward to the the updates; they are worth waiting for.
iTunes Alternative. MusicStreamer was just what the doctor ordered. Although I use a PC, iTunes is designed for iOS systems. With MusicStreamer, one can just about disregard iTunes altogether. I can play all of my music through my iPhone or my iPad without iTunes. Such a relief!! I can really only think of one thing for improvement. That would be the inclusion of an equalizer. The product support was great when I needed it. Those guys were right there providing the help I needed. Oh yeah; if your concerned about the cost, just toss that notion out. You really can’t find anything better for streaming your music at home or work (as the case may be). If I could, I’d only give 4 1/2 stars for the lack of an equalizer. So 5 will have to do.
Would be really great if supported UPnP and DNLA streaming. App works great but would really be something if it supported network streaming via DNLA/UPnP directly to my network attached stereo. Bluetooth is not nearly as good for lossless files like FLAC. Bluetooth speakers don’t perform any where near as well as my wired stereo towers. Maybe in a next revision?
great. Works great with my Apple Airport router & NAS. Proper and fast indexing where other apps fail or come to a crawl. (And just a hint in case anyone has a problem with SMB NAS, hdd's need names and names can't e.g. have spaces ;-) )
Love the product and support. I once had the issue and the support team help me out immediately. Now I can again enjoy the best music player for NAS!
Why no folder sort?!. I found this searching for an app that; 1) isn’t tied to iTunes, 2) doesn’t collect data, 3) is simple to connect to nas sources. This app checked all these boxes and I use it constantly. The only thing that I didn’t include in my search is the ability to see music sources listed in a folder view. This is important to me because I have a lot of teaching material that I use on a daily basis that have weekly meditation modules that are within sub folders. Without a folder view, I have no way of associating the weekly meditations with the root teaching’s folder. A folder view would be a huge time saver and make this app be perfect for me!
Best music streaming app. Hello, I am loving this app. It helps me to play all of the files stored on my NAS. But there is a issue I want to mention. This app failed to extract tag data (like Album art) from opus file. Can you look into the issue? Thank you so much.
Perfect!. Exactly what I was looking for! I have a mobile router with a USB drive in the car and this lets me scan the shared folder for all of my songs. A+ and thank you! 😊
Wish this would randomly shuffle. Love the player, works great with my NAS, but wish it would shuffle the songs, not just one song after another from the same artist.
Too complicated. I struggled with this when I first downloaded the app last year. I mean seriously struggled the help files are not all that helpful and now I’ve upgraded my phone and have to go through it all again. I’ve sat here over an hour creating music sources but can’t connect to any of them. It’s just too complicated.
Almost Great.... Love this app, except opus files do not play properly! The issue is when playing opus files the songs play much slower. I want to download my songs to my phone but all other formats take too much space. Opus is my only reasonable option but when I do this my favorite songs won’t play correctly!
Had trouble getting it to work. I bought this app because the description said it played to Chromecast Audio. I couldn’t get it to work for quite a while — my Chromecast device finally showed up when I went to playlists. Not sure what happened there... The app doesn’t leverage the iTunes library. Rather, it scans a particular PC path for music files and allows you to stream them. I have had problems that, when I try to play a playlist, the app mysteriously stops between songs. That’s a bit irritating. So, overall, while it does what’s advertised, it seems a bit clunky. I wish iTunes allowed you to play to Chromecast, but this is an acceptable workaround.
Serviceable way to access music on NAS. This app is fast, responsive, and minimalist, though its UI is pretty seriously outdated. Everything is crammed onto one screen, making it a little annoying to browse or search your library. Your play queue is hidden in the playlist tab, for some reason, though it works great once you find it. Those gripes aside, I can finally listen to my mp3 collection on a flash drive plugged into my router's usb port. Pretty nifty!
Best possible app for streaming music. This app is easy to use, fast, and works flawlessly. I use it to stream music from a Synology NAS, and it’s far superior for that purpose than any NAS-resident solution (Flex, iTunes, etc.).
F~€£ing Finally. My music files are stored on a drive shared by OSX server. I’ve been looking for an iOS app that can find and connect to a shared drive and stream files - forever. I’ve also been using Stratospherix’s brilliant File Browser forever. Which does just that but is not a music player. I recall thinking if File Browser can find and stay connected to shared drives, why is it so tough for other apps? Still a good question but it turns out Stratospherix made the perfect solution the whole time. This is one case when I wish an app had advertised related products. Music Streamer connects to all kinds of shared drives effortlessly and does a beautiful job of indexing all types of audio files. On top of all that it is one of the nicest audio players I’ve used. Now we can leave the ipad laying around and folks can browse and que up music which is cast to an airport receiver to play music through our stereo.
Looks good, needs tweaks. The app itself looks nice. I like the way the cover art looks and the other basic features. I like that it has the ability to connect to your NAS. After I connected to the NAS it immediately started listing the music files and cover art. A couple big problems though. 1) It organizes albums by disc folder instead of the album name tag. And then it sorts by disc folder name. That means it lists artists a-z disc1 folders and then artists a-z disc2 folders etc.. So multiple disc sets are not in order. Not sure why it ignores the album tags. 2) Not sure why it doesn’t use a dlna feature to connect to the server which would do all the album organizing for you. 3) Granted I have a collection of 2300+ albums but after it separated each disc folder into separate “albums” it shows that I now have 3033 “albums”. Lastly, I have over 53k music files and even without looking at album tags it still took hours to index the files. Foobar mobile is very simple app but it uses dlna and organizes the albums by album tag and not by each separate disc. If they could fix these issues it would be my new goto app.
Fine job!. This is just what I wanted. Not as intuitive as I would like for my wife but she’ll get it soon.
Updating My Review again... Excellent App... Period!. This is a great app for streaming music. I have not found anything close for streaming from a NAS especially if you want to stream high bitrate/bitdepth files to an external USB DAC. As of the latest update the devs have recently addressed all of my gripes. I can now say that this is a solid five star app. Great job! The great news: 1. They fixed the issue with high resolution Flac files not being sent to an external DAC in the correct format. The app used to downsampling these, now works great. Thanks! 2. Fixed my tiny UI quibble... the UI has now been updated to scale nicely on a large iPad Pro. Thanks! 3. Fixed Flac bit rate issue. Thank you! Wish list: 1. Apple TV app. Would love something similar for Apple TV. It would be great to have access to SMB music files with the similar experience on home theater. Obviously wouldn’t get the same external DAC support but would still be nice. I’d even pay more for a premium.
Feature request. An excellent app, as all other reviews will attest. I’m thinking about the upcoming iPad Pro with two terabytes of storage ... I could copy the bulk of my music collection to the new device ... it would be nice to use Musicstreamer on my device to listen to music on my device ...
Still works with generation 2 iPad (July 2021). It just works. Setup info could be fleshed out a bit more. A FAQ and setup troubleshooting info section would be helpful. Having said all that I found it fast and relatively intuitive to use. I’m now running about 2000 albums off a 256gb flash drive plugged into router for home network. Took me a wile to figure out I had to allow guest access to router usb (Samba) on an Asus router via Asus’ router management application. Ymmv.
The music player app you have been waiting for. If you, like I have, been compiling a disk full of music for a decades and want something that plays on all your devices has easy download for offline and easy album art update, and web search right from the app and doesn’t cost a bunch. Media streamer is perfect. Haven’t enjoyed a music app this much since Winamp! Also it will discover 20k files pretty quickly and did a great job of that. I highly recommend apps from this developer because the actually answer support requests!
Superb App - So Glad I Found It!. To start with, I’m just going to quote from the developer’s own description since it’s better worded than anything I was going to write: “Do you have a music collection with thousands of files on your PC, Mac, Network Drive or Time Capsule? Now you can play that music directly on your iPad / iPhone without syncing. MusicStreamer will scan your music, display beautiful album artwork and is a joy to use.” I couldn’t agree more! The app elegantly solves the problem of getting my several thousand song files located on a NAS drive over to my iPad, where i can then connect to Bluetooth speaker or headphone. You can filter by artist, album, genre, set up playlists, and play tracks sequentially or randomly. The app connect to my drive with no problem and is a breeze to us. Also, I had one question and received a detailed personal response with all the answers I was looking for. I can go into my back room wood shop and have all my music coming in on my nice headphones. It’s a beautiful thing!
M3U import bug. Edit: UTF-8 encoding issue. Converting my playlists to M3U8 did the trick. 5/5 again. This app is great, and worth the money purchase, BUT there seems to be a bug with importing M3U playlists via FileBrowser when the file path contains umlaut characters. It will cause the whole playlist to fail to import. Hoping a dev sees this and looks into it so I can bump my review up to the 5 stars it otherwise deserves.
Perfect app!. I use to stream music off my PC while sitting out on the deck. It’s great!!!
This is exactly what I needed. I was looking for a way to stream music from my Brennan B2 cd ripper/NAS box so that my wife can listing when working in the backyard. I found this app somehow, and wow. This is an amazing app. It takes a bit of time to learn, but being able to stream high quality FLAC files is a real treat. This is easily the best 4 dollars I’ve ever spent.
Thanks for picking up the ball Apple dropped. iTunes gets more useless with every update. When they decided to remove all my older cd ripped music whenever I back up my phone I put ALL my library on my time capsule and installed this app. Already love your filebrowser for video. Now use this to listen to music.
Great Great App. I have been researching a way to play PC and NAS stored music to our 8 Chromecast Audio speaker setup. Google searches had us jumping through hoops to do it. This Amazing app scanned and found all our streaming sources in 60 seconds and showed then showed Chromecast devices icon when playing music from my PC. No iTunes or any PC software required! Just share you top level music folder and enable Media Sharing in Network Sharing Center. Absolutely worth the 3.99!!!!
Works great!. It took several minutes to scan my music folder on a network attached storage drive on my network. After that, I can access all of my music anywhere in my house. I use an old iPhone to plug into a 1960 Dynaco tube amp setup. It sounds wonderful! Update: Still going strong! It sees my NAS drive plugged into a network switch, a 4TB USB3 drive plugged into a router, a USB thumb drive plugged into the same router, and all my shared drives on PCs scattered about the house. Using various iPhones and iPads all over the house and yard.
Please Make the Play Queue an Option. The app is amazing, but I'd prefer not to have everything I play (even songs I'm playing via a playlist) auto added to a queue. This makes no sense to me. There's already a Play History list, so this just confuses me. I may be simple-minded, and just don't get it, so why not make "Enable the Play Queue" an option?
Well done. I'm using MusicStreamer to play music (flac) being streamed from a Raspberry pi using Samba. Connecting was simple and the app GUI is really nice.
Simultaneous servers. Can’t read playlists in the servers, can’t combine servers into one database. Most of my folders are lumped together as a single album even though a folder may actually contain several hundred albums
Best streamer of your music. I find this the best app on the iPad for streaming your music collection over your network from a NAS or computer. The one thing that I would like to see that would be an improvement is the ability to minimize or collapse the playlist or que panel to give more space to display the album covers.
Needs a little work. When I add the network location, it adds it as album. No good. Also the filters which are based on iTunes genres or id3 genres tags don't work, they just highlight certain songs that belong to the filter.
For me: It’s Like iTunes Without the Fluff and Fuss. A nice straightener interface that deals easily with the music I’ve moved onto my NAS. It queues and plays well, and changes/adjustments are intuitive. No “extra”stuff in the way, and the interface is consistent between my iPhone and my iPad. Supports multiple libraries in different storage locations so my wife and I can see and play each other’s tracks without having to duplicate them redundantly.
It’s working again. Solved the problem, I think. The Sony Personal Wireless Server seemed to not be connecting due to the media type I placed in the server. I am using a 16GB Patriot USB flash drive and that seems to work with the server allowing a connection to be made by MusicStreamer. Other brands didn’t seem to work with the Sony PWS such as PNY and all were formatted in FAT32 except one which was NTFS, and it seems USB 3.0 not friendly with the Sony PWS. Bottom line: the app MusicStreamer does work with the Sony PWS and you get all the enjoyment of playing songs randomly!
Better but not awesome. Works better for music than the native MyCloud app but still not great because the UI/UX is pretty confusing For example, to play a song you have to tap the options button on it, and then play. Instead of just tapping it which would be most intuitive. Also this does not work outside of your NAS network
Can’t Stream From Cloud Services.. Hard to believe a music streaming app in ‘17 doesn’t stream from DropBox, Box, Google Drive, etc. Maybe I should’ve read the product description more carefully but so many music streaming apps offer this service that I took o for granted. Would like my money back.
Awesome. It is fast accurate and the best ios music player, GUI is not perfect but tbh not sure what to change to make it perfect. One thing is missing - wish that we can extract library from our sources as it is collected and preserved on our devices even offline it is catalog is in tact with thumbnails images. That is awesome. So, will be ideal to have button to extract this in txt only or better. Another thing that should be added is button to download entire collection next to Artist name vs now is only available by album. So, if you are listening artist you have to download for offline use individually. That is a bummer. If these two things are corrected this is ultimate app for what is designed for streaming. So please fix this do crazy good as FileBrowser. We LOVE your work. Cheers

Good but could be better. Easy to set up, easy to use and has some nice neat features. Could be a 5star app if there was support for .wma files and file tags. When sorting files it seems to be referencing just the file properties which can cause problems with .wav files.
Top app, excellent support.. Five stars from me. I use it for sleep learning. Negligible power drain, works online and offline, switching automatically during power outages, speed function is great. Highly recommend for a well throughout product that has timely, comprehensive support. Well done guys. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍😊
Amazing. This is my new favourite thing to listen to music it has got so many things to do but you need to use it right people think it’s bad you just need to use it right
Cracker App!. This is a great local library streaming app. Excellent interface and very quick response to search and play over network. Best streaming app out there hands down.
Excellent App. Stable, well designed app. Does everything I want it to do and does it well.
Great app. Here's a tip. How about this! I attached a HDD to my AirPort Extreme and copied to It most of my 8,000 plus library of songs. Then I used this app on my iPhone and iPad to access my music anywhere in the house on any iDevice. It's using WiFi so the range is much larger than Bluetooth. Periodically I sync my music on iTunes to the Airport Extreme's HDD to keep it up to date. A fabulous solution
Useless. I have been trying to use this app for a long time. Each time I manage to connect to my music server, it loses everything when I shut down, and can't connect to the server next time I try. Very frustrating.
Love it but support audiobooks. First time a solution can deal with audio files like books and help organise them but add bookmarking to reflect you might listen to a range of material to different points and need to come back to where you where. I have hopes you will allow multiple playlists and remember where the user is up to. This is of course for audio books. You are so close to something really special.
Das ist fantastische!. Great app, intuitive and aesthetically pleasing. Would be worth 5 stars if I could use on Apple Watch.
A great App. I stumbled upon this App and it is so much better than the QNAP QMusic App. Definitely Recommend it. The best part is that the gaps between the CD tracks are the same as if you were playing the CD. No lengthy gaps like the Native QNAP app.
An actual offline music player that doesn’t suck. Works really well for my needs. Picks up the music perfectly fine and indexing was very quick.
Confused. None of the other apps scan large collections well but this seems to handle it easily. On the downside however it didn't seem to read the file metadata and therefore treated every album and song as an artist. Then Search couldn't find the artist to display all their albums. End result not useable until metadata handling is fixed.
Excellent. For those who want to be outside the iTunes universe. This is an excellent player.
Amazing Music Player. If you have all your big music library stored in an external HD this player is a must to have! At the moment this is the only music player I use with my iPhone and iPad. Recommended!
Music streamer. Great app perfect as a music player for the home
A nicely executed app. I’ve waited a long time for a decent LAN music playing app and this one has hit the mark! That alpha scroll on the right hand scroll bar is simply excellent. Thank you.
Excellent. Highly recommended. Allows me to easily stream my music collection to my iPhone whilst at home or at work. Mark
Just what I needed. I grabbed this app because I wanted to stream music from my Nas to my Apple HomePod it has worked flawlessly and I cannot find any faults at this stage, I have been using it for 3 months so fingers crossed
Great app. Does what you expect and more. Very responsive and helpful support as well.
Horrible controls. Why can't I just tap a track to play it like iTunes / Spotify / everything else? Adding everything to a playlist is so confusing and hard to explain to guests.
Thanks. Works perfectly with my NAS! Excellent product, look forward to future updates!
Brilliant App!. This is exactly the app I was looking for. I am amazed there aren’t more similar apps out there in this age of digital music collections. Eventually, I will get a Sonos or network audio player, but for now Music Streamer does what I want.
Good app, ugly theme, but works well.. Also it doesn’t handle compilations nicely, other than that it is a solid app.
Excellent. Another quality app from this company. Very stable and works as claimed. Company was quick to reply for advice for my circumstance. Very happy to recomend. Thank you
Definite buy for mp3 owners!. After sifting through many, many, music apps, this is the one. If you want to be able to stream and local sync, for offline playback, your own mp3s from your own PC or Mac, this is the app. Do yourself a favour, support the developer and buy the full version (with local sync function).
How to set up local folder. Hi, i paid for the full app, and overall its great, but i cannot set up the folder where the downloaded files should go. Any help appreciated

Great new update. As a longtime user, I definitely appreciate the continued support for this app! It would be nice to have an option to make the album art larger. EDIT: Thanks for the tip, it works beautifully :)
Almost there..... I've spent a great deal of time looking for an ios audio player that will let me access my lossless music collection from anywhere. Music streamer is soooooo close to being it. Love the ability to stream flac files without having to download the entire flac file first. I also really like the fast library management functions. It sucked in my 6000+ collection in short order. The playlist management features are also quick and convenient. The improvements I'd like to see? Native support for cloud storage like drop box as a source without having to go through a pc/mac first. Also, unless I missed it, a master library that spans multiple sources so you can have playlists that span multi sources. Also integrate cloud music services like spotify and soundcloud so playlists can span them too. Outside of that, some prettier UX options. Looking forward to these upgrades 😊
Excellent music player overall. The app does exactly what I want it to do; stream music (only mp3s) from my NAS to my phone. My only complaint is that the random isn't that random; from a list of over 7000 songs I can hear the same song more than once in less than an hour of play. It'd be nice if the random number generator could be tweaked a bit to be a little more random. Other than that, it's easy to use and works great!
Music Streamer is no longer stable and reliable product.. Don’t buy it! Use the File Browser application instead. The music streaming product used to be so much more reliable, but recent updates has made it unstable. I find I’m using the File Browser product instead, as it seems to be more reliable. The Streamer just stops and looses its connection to the server and I have to keep reopening it, and the server reconnects automatically, but I have to keep hitting the play button. I have found the same companies File browser products and I have found that I can connect to my server and listen for hours and hours without an issue. I’m disappointed in the current Music Streamer Product and can no longer recommend it to others. The File Browser has less bells and whistles, but is much more stable and reliable. Same company, go figure!
Worth every penny. I like this app a lot. It's streamlined, giving just what's needed without sacrificing on features. I got it so that I can use the cd's I've already purchased and ripped. Just can't fathom paying for a streaming service like Deezer until those commercial streaming services are tested out and prices come down. (if ever at all)
Works great. These guys are awesome, they really make a quality product that works. It quickly scans your network and finds your shared drive just like FileBrowser. No need to manually map network drives. I haven’t had access to my music for years, now I do and it is great. Easily create playlists, copy paste album art if you want. Everything streams off your network drive/share freeing up tons of space on your mobile device.
Works great but no CarPlay support?. Fast and functions as intended, but no CarPlay? It almost a dealbreaker for me, but I’m hoping it’s happening in the next update. And the font is too small. All in all, it works wonderfully playing music from my local network. Only needing to CarPlay...
Keeps getting better!. Stream from NAS - check Set different NAS locations (my music/family music) - check Auto find music on network - check Save tracks for offline play - check Stream to airplay or chromecast - check Playlists - check Random playlist creation - check Alt screen with big button controls for driving - check This baby does it all, pay the couple bucks and enjoy! I do.
Works ok, but. I have all my music organized on the computer. Would be great to be able to access by folder, no?
99% Perfect. Needed a music player app that can store FLAC outside of iTunes on iPhone. Tried a lot of them and came across Musicstreamer after reading a mention of it on some audiophile forum. This meets my needs. Only thing I can’t find is a way to see the playing track file type and bitrate.
Looking good. I like what I see so far. The app finds my SMB shares and creates a nice interface to browse my music. I wish it would let me select multiple sub-folders within a share's tree though ... I'm finding the limitation of one folder per share somewhat annoying. Otherwise, I'm happy with the browsing and streaming functionality. Hoping for continued development on this very promising app.
Too many bugs. This app is not ready for prime time. It just has too many bugs. For example, I was excited about the ability to play FLAC files, particularly when my iPad Air is connected to a DAC. However, my excitement quickly disappeared about five minutes after starting to use the app, when I discovered that 24-96 FLAC files start stuttering as soon as the iPad screen dims and 24-96 FLAC files stop playing entirely when the screen dims. I would say this renders the app useless for those interested in playing FLAC files. This happens whether the iPad is connected to a DAC or whether internal speakers are used.
Superlative, amazing, wow.... I discovered this app a month ago, and it does everything I want, reliably, simply and smoothly, all for the price of a sack of peanuts... It's a no-brainer.
Great!. Been using this for a couple years now primarily for my flac collection. Love the improvements and regular updates.
Great with Chromecast Audio. Great app to control stream local music from my NAS tosingle or mutiple Chromcast Audio devices. Nice interface for your music library. Easy to set up. Very good and responsive customer support when there was an update (automatic over the air) to the Chromecast Audio and this caused issues. Issue was ackwnoledged when I e-mailed customer support and update was done to fix the issue within a couple of days. All is now again working great. The best app for this application that i have found.
Best Music Streaming App. If your music is stored on a NAS, this app is definitely the one to have. Easy to setup. Supports the iPad Pro and iPhone 6S perfectly. Gapless playback works well. Imports playlists easily using another excellent Stratospherix app, FileBrowser. Works perfectly with all my Bluetooth devices. Reads MP3 tags flawlessly and quickly as it sets up your music library. I recommend this app highly. I use Kodi for music playback on my home theater and MusicStreamer easily shares the same folders for my IOS devices. The technical support is also excellent.
Best player I have found. This is one of the few streaming players (that I have found) that will find and play songs located in sub-folders. The interface is quite basic but it works well. I have several thousand songs stored in many levels of sub-folders on a network drive. This app found all of them quickly and easily. It would be nice it the “back” arrow on the player would allow you to go back to previous songs rather than just restarting the currently playing song. Perhaps a future update? Other than that and the very plain user interface, this app works perfectly for my needs.
No bad. Good attempt , but limited in flexibility.
Great player - all functions actually work. Hope they continue development on this - it’s a great music player, but could use a few improvements to let users: 1. Add more than one directory for music sources 2. Sync playlists to iCloud or a NAS. 3. Create a playlist from search results 4. Search with a full ASCII character set (can search on “80s”, but not “80’s”) Still, great - super handy for playing my folder of podcasts.
Love this App so far. This is the App I was looking for. Supports me accessling my server-based music collection without having to load on my phone but provides the option to download for on-the-go when required. Great format support such as FLAC. My two wishes are: - add DSD support so I don't have to convert (or alternately direct ISO support for SACD) - display the encoding, bitrate, sample rate, sample size, etc for the currently playing track (see Vox for a good example)
Love this app! It's the best.. Well designed functions and effective user interface - Streamer is the best music player by far. Not only does Streamer allow easy and effective tools for programming a seamless music stream, it connects easily, and reliably stays connected to my dlink router media server, and sends to a choice of discovered output adapters like AppleTV , Bluetooth, linksys extender, chrome cast. The filtering, selection and searching functions in Streamer make loading and managing the play cue effortless. And creating, editing and using playlists is a snap. After ripping all my CDs to my hard drive years ago, I finally have an effective tool to keep my music flowing, controlled from wherever my wifi reaches. I love it!
The best Music Player App on here. This is by far the best music player app I’ve used. Great features and it removes the need for you to need a computer and I tunes. If you are like me and have a personal NAS this app is the way to go
Handy and Helpful. Allows me to play my iTunes library through the Chromecast. Nathan from the support team was very prompt and helped me troubleshoot the setup.
There's no app like it.... This app allows you to connect/stream from a NAS to your ipad, and play almost any file including FLAC! The simplicity of making playlists is just pleasant. Driving mode and search is great! I installed an airport extreme with hard drive in my camper van for a trip to California and had to research steadily for an app that can not only stream, but also play flac files. Believe it or not, this app is possibly the only one that can do this, a huge thanks to the "Music Streamer" team!
Perfect! It's a fantastic app for playing your music collection. I have been using this app for about two years. I love it! Nothing else comes even close to the ease of use and the quality streaming to my Apple TV and Chromecast. Thank you writing such a fantastic app. I think this app is fantastic. It is very reliable for playing music and has great playlist functionality. I love how you can tap on the album cover at the top of the app and a large cover will be displayed. Thanks so much for adding a search and playback through Apple TV and Chromecast! The random selections for playing are excellent especially the dice mode! Adding the ability to download my music in this app is an excellent idea, now I can take my music with me when I go out!
Musicstreamer Review. I have been using Musicstreamer for that last month or so. Finally, I have found the app I was looking for that does music right. I use mostly high resolution 24 bit files for which the app does an excellent job playing. Although my particular DAC does not show the input resolution, the quality of sound is superior to other apps I have tried. Creating playlist is not something I often do. I usually just pick one album at a time. But the ease of which this app provides this function is hard to overlook, so now I find myself making playlists and selecting a variety of sorts. The app setup is superb. Like magic, it finds the music folder from your network. Amazing! It couldn't be easier. Earlier I made contact with the app designers at Stratospherix as I was experiencing problems staying connected to my server. They were excellent to deal with and promptly provided the answers I needed to sort out problems at my end. A must have app for serious music listeners! Ben
Fantastic app. I spent ages looking for a way to stream 5000 albums from a NAS to AirPlay and Chromecast via a mobile device. This app met all the requirement with elegant simplicity and reliability. Scanning the library was amazingly fast. All this for a reasonable price. Well done.
Very good app. I used to use FileBrowser to listen to my music remotely and experienced several problems. MusicStreamer solved them all. You should add the functionality to play randomly music pieces from a playlist.
Wow. Greatest music apps to use with your own library!
Essential App from Essential Publisher. This app was essential years ago. The fact it is still getting updated is incredible. The ability to save 3 different 10-band EQ settings plus still having the multiple presets just made it better when I didn’t think it was possible. The real star of this app though is the ability to connect directly to my NAS and stream without taking up phone storage. If you want to play offline, a simple click will download tracks, albums, playlists and it’s just as easy to remove to free storage. I could go on and on but I will say the only app that’s more useful is also by this publisher. FileBrowser is the easiest way to move files across everywhere. It’s easier than using a desktop computer. If you don’t have FileBrowser and ever have to move files around, you’re living in the dark ages. Stratospherix makes 2 of the most powerful apps on my phone and I will never be without them. Nice job and thank you!
Where is the guide?. The guide to connect is not working since the last update.
Exactly what I needed!. After downloading app after app I couldn't find something that I could use to stream my backups from my Ravpower, and have all the track info and album art included. This app is intuitive enough to automate it for you. Aside from that I never thought creating a playlist could be so instant. This software is smart, and it looks awesome. Great app guys!
Adsterra is the most preferred ad network for those looking for an alternative to AdSense. Adsterra is the ideal choice for new sites with low daily traffic. In order to advertise on the site in Adsterra, like other ad networks, a certain traffic limit, domain age, etc. is required. There are no strict rules. Sign up!
limited use. Does not play sub folders!! Does not stream to the chromecast like their FileBrowser app. All I wanted is to play all files and subfolders from the root directory shuffled. It thinks the subfolders are albums. My root is called Music then \genre\artiest\album and every genre is an album. In album or artiest view it displays the same amount of tracks and even then is the wrong amount after scan. Needs a lot of work and compared to their Filebrowser app which is much snapper, this app will lag and crash. Help tab does not help with NAS boxes as inclined on their about description.
Exactly what I have been looking for!. Streams from a large myCloud NAS flawlessly. I like that I can build and save playlists, shuffle or just have it pick 10 random 'up next' from my library. No need to have iTunes open or pay for cloud storage that I already own. Works well with FileBrowser and supports AirPlay. I also like that at a tap of a button I can have it rescan for updates. I'm fine with the UI as is.
Great app!. It finds files on your network very quickly and easily. The sound is good. It streams playlists to Chromecast.
Fantastic network music streamer!. I've been hunting for an app that can stream flac files from my server to my hi-fi. This thing does that perfectly, it also does gapless playback without a problem. My only feedback is that I wish you could use it in portrait landscape. I also wish it would attempt to reconnect to your server if it ever loses connection.
Absolutely worth it!. This app is a gem, very capable, good design. Highly recommended.
Finally iTunes Alternative. You set up your own cloud and stream music from home. This app keeps improving.
Awesome App. I am thrilled with this app, so far. I have a ton of legally downloaded live concerts on my iMac and an external hard drive—almost all as flac files—that I didn’t know how to play via Bluetooth to Amazon Echos, a Bluetooth boombox, etc. It literally took a couple of minutes to set up MusicStream to play from that folder. Super-simple, super-clear set-up instructions. I did have a few questions over the last few days—questions that, in retrospect, I should have been able to answer myself as I became more familiar with the app—but, regardless, I emailed the developer for assistance and received almost instantaneous, spot-on answers each time. I’ve never experienced app support that’s nearly this fast and excellent. Highly recommended!!
Functional. works as advertised. Things to improve on 1. Allow scaling of fonts. Letters too small.
I've Wanted This for Years. So easy to manage your library from your device and stream everything while at home. Best music app available.
Exactly what I was looking for. Very good music app that allows me to play apple lossless files and create playlists with music stored on a WD MyCloud. The search function is fast and shuffle play works well with a medium large library(approx 5800 songs). I can highly recommend this app and the MyCloud. (Practically unlimited storage for my IPad and, with this app, better functionality than much more expensive NAS devices). I'm very happy I bought this app.
Help. Great app to play a single song or single album or single artist How do I play the playlists I created in iTunes? I have read all the support pages and cannot figure out how to do this. No I do not want to have to recreate all that work inside this app creating new or duplicate playlists when they already exist in iTunes
Good potential but needs work. I would have loved to have the following features in this otherwise fine program: 1. It should stay in portrait mode as well rather than forcing the landscape mode. 2. There should be an option to shuffle play the tracks. 3. An option to repeat one track or all (in the playlist) will be useful. 4. If it could play DTS music tracks as well. 5. A play timer is needed so you don't drain the battery. Using IPad timer is inconvenient.
cant browse by folder. can connect to network share but cant navigate folders the way they are listed in network. forces you to listen to music and navigate music there way. its like forcing you to rebuild your library from scratch in their app instead of connecting to your network share and just letting you brows the folders and listen to music
Needs more features and improvements.. Hello, I like the idea of accessing my time capsules MP3 files via MusicStreamer. However, the app is very limited in options to view media. Here are some ideas, Have a view "folder" category instead. Allow the user to make playlist based on how the music is organized on the hardrives (i3. Folders) When creating a playlist, we do not have the option to choose files or folders. Let's get an update out as quickly as possible team. Don't let your users disappointed and look for other options out there. The future of this app is within your hands. Make some updates and we will all be happy.
Great for streaming. Finally an app you can stream music from a NAS so you don't use up storage on you iDevice. Would be great if you could play randomly all music.
Suggested additions. I'd like to see cross fade, smart playlist and M3U import added to the app
I love this app. If you are looking to stream from an SMB source this app will not only do it easily, but give you a beautiful intuitive interface in which to do it.
Very good app.. I use it to play music from my NAS on my wireless headphones. Works great.
Pretty Good. I'm not very fond of the design, but it works great. Thanks for the app and for keeping it updated!
2 Thumbs Up!. This truly is an awesome app. Wireless to the home network. A bluetooth receiver for an older system is cheap and it works great.
Requires using windows file share, has trouble updating. You must turn on SMB and Windows file share to use the application. Read the security warnings when you authorize this. It locked up multiple times trying to scan my iTunes library on my iMac.
Updated review, nice app!. Looks like it works very well, but I just get an error message when trying to play music with Chromecast. “Failed to play media on Chromecast: Error code 30” Update: I emailed support and they got right back to me with information about my problem. The problem is not with the Musicstreamer app, but a problem with Chromecast and Apple Music file formats being incompatible. I can’t play ALAC files but I can play FLAC with my Chromecast. Most everything plays well via Bluetooth. I love being able to access my music from my computer using my iPhone.
Please make this for aTV. Still loving the app after a couple years. Wish I could add music to MS library via share pane from another app. Please make an aTV version. *************** Great iPad app. There is no great music app for aTV. Please make one!
Love the app. I love this app, it's exactly what I was looking for. I wanted an app to play flax files stored on my nas. This app displays album art, has shuffle, repeat, and an option to view the play list. The interface is extremely user friendly. Tunes sound great when using the app to play. If you're looking for a flac player, I highly recommend this app - it's the best money I've ever spent on an app!
Great app! Just one more thing..:. I'm using this with my MobileLite NAS to play all my music in the car from my iPhone. Fantastic! Just one request... A "shuffle all tracks" feature exclusive of playlists. What do you say, devs? Great software, great price!
Finally!. This is the first time I've written a review for an app, and I am a music app junkie. As an aspiring IOS wannabe musician I've spent more money on apps than I care to admit. I've been searching for a good network music streamer since Day 1 of owning an IOS device--years before I even knew what Audiobus was. They all fell short. This app delivers effortlessly, intuitively, and blows the other 15 or so network music streaming programs I've tried away. Besides owning a massive 4 terabyte digital music collection (which it catalogued and set up for me to browse in minutes) I have about 10,000 loops and samples which I can now stream into audiobus. This is HUGE for me.Total game changer that fills a void that I didn't think was ever going to see addressed. The interface is really sharp and well designed, too. I will literally use this app every day.
Nice App one feature missing. App provides a way to export song playlists to both Mac & PC. Would give it 5 stars if I could IMPORT the playlist back into the player following edits to the playlist on my computer. (So much easier to add songs and manipulate that way.) That feature would make it perfect. I have many playlists and don't want to have to duplicate my efforts in recreating those playlists.
Samba, Samba, you know you wanta!. This app has breathed new life into my Kingston MediaLite Wireless G2, a decent wireless media device with built-in samba (SMB) sharing whose own app's music functionality is pretty lame. As mentioned by other reviewers and in the subject, MusicStreamer allows mounting of samba (SMB) shared folders and once you have pointed it to one, it indexes that directory and its sub-directories and locates all music files. While at home, I can point to the same drive share that I have on my portable and have easy access by toggling between profiles. On the subject of toggling, I like the fact it toggles between album mode, playlist mode & "driving" mode (the one with a steering wheel icon), which makes the controls really big. Overall, I have been pleasantly surprised how feature packed and easy to use this app is, with many features being so intuitively placed. In addition to its functionality, I really like the design of the app icon/logo, as well as the look and feel (including color scheme) of the app itself, which are details that many apps out there are missing. So, for this, my eyes thank you =) One last thing… Nathan from Stratospherix was very responsive to some questions I had about playlists and I look forward to watching this app continue to improve over time. Many Thanks!
Disappointed. I want to like this program, but I have one primary issue with it... It can’t find my home NAS via VPN (unlike another Stratospherix product “FileBrowser” which has no problem doing so). A fix would be great.
Great App. For years I have been waiting for a good music streaming app that would allow me to access my NAS music library - FileBrowser was my only option. Excellent job bringing this to the market. Now all we need is an option to eliminate the pause between tracks as I am jamming my playlists. Thanks!
Does not play DRM music files. I was surprised to learn after I purchased the product that it does not play DRM music files. I like the idea of streaming music from my PC. Unfortunately, I have quite a few music files that are DRM. Hopefully in the future it will have this capability. In the meanwhile, I will not be using this product.
Needs refinement in user interface. The app does stream FLAC files from my network drives. What I like is there is no companion app required. Loads meta data directly from the music share and builds its library from that. Unfortunately the UI is very basic and cluttered. The media management is limited. You can only display music by album or artist. There is no genre support. This is fine if you have a small collection of music but with several hundred albums it's a problem. Need to be able to sort by Genre, Artist then Album. The app is not laid out well either. Very cluttered screen that puts current playlist, library and now playing on one screen. Seems like the developers did the minimum work to get this out the door. Compared to their FileBrowser app which I love and is very refined this seems like a stepchild. I bought this based on my experience with FileBrowser. I was disappointed. It's a very basic app that's rather ugly and not pleasurable to look at. I hope the developers put the time and revamp the UI and add the aspects any good media streaming app should have. For now I'd suggest using Tonidio. It's free, streams FLAC, has a better UI but does require a server app. Come on guys. I know you can do better.
Great Start. Very good now, with the potential to be the best!! Scans the DLNA server the first time it's run, and caches song info and art, providing a very responsive experience. Scroll bar on right moves quickly through large amounts of content. Plays FLAC files with no problems. 3 features would take it to the next level: Showing the DLNA 'Folders' structure. The ability to play a subfolder directly. The ability to use playlists stored on the server. One of the best streamers of local music available.
Awesome App!. Great way to enjoy my music without loading it on my iOS devices. Works with compressed and uncompressed files, even displays artwork. Frankly, it surpasses iTunes.
Great alternative to iTunes. iTunes couldn't access music on my NAS server from my iPad. This app was easy to set up and it works quite reliably.
Scans my Desktop Large Music No Problem. Took a few hours to scan my "very" large library. This is a "one" time thing. After this I've used this product to hear all my music from my desktop computer on my iPhone. This app organizes everything by artist then album. Artwork is beautiful when you click thumbnail to in large to full size. Only improvement would be to put the Chromecast audio button on every page seen. This app is amazing.
Found it!!. This is it people, if you have a large music collection, painstakingly compiled over years, with uncountable hours dedicated to making sure all songs have album art , and proper names... This is it. It took some time to scan my library.. I thought it wouldn't work but next time I opened the app all my music was there! Now it doesn't matter that I couldn't fit my 200GB worth of music in my iPhone, because i can listen to it whenever I want (within my house)
This is the one. I've tried several apps to stream my music collection from NAS. This one is the best of the lot--by far! The UI is simple and easy to read and setup would only be easier if it came with a beer. Looks like I'm going to have to buy a portable WIFI drive for the car (might need some help explaining the expense to the wife 😉). If there were one thing I could change, I'd put in a few skins to change color scheme. I use your FileBrowser app and really like the Pinstripe theme as it's very easy on my old eyes.
Issue. Just bought it and it will not read my full NAS drive. I have it on my iPad Pro but cannot get it to do the full syn either NAS
Cannot find music. Cannot find music in music folder on iPhone How to get refund
Just what I was looking for!!. I recently purchased a Seagate Wireless Plus 1TB drive to store most of my FLAC music library with wireless access on long trips & plane flights. I had downloaded a couple other apps that did a lot of other things… video streaming, photo viewing, as well as audio, but the UI for the music player was GARBAGE with NO settings to play an entire album. You had to play each track individually, and for all the work that I’ve done making sure the TAG info was right for each song, the other apps didn’t even use the metadata. I was very skeptical when I stumbled on MusicStreamer, but it has TOTALLY met every expectation of greatness I was looking for. THANK YOU!!! One little issue… I’ve got the app on my iPad Air and iPhone 6 and am seeing the app continually crash while trying to scan the data. I restart the app and tell it to ‘continue scanning’, but it usually crashes again within minutes. I do have over 30k songs it’s trying to scan… could that be a problem? I’ve got LOTS of avail memory on both devices.
Easier to use than iTunes or FileBrowser from Statospherix to play music. First let me say that I like iTunes except for the way iTunes organizes the music files its Music folder. It will play HD music at native sample rates. It is a good network music server with Home Sharing enabled. I use it to play my basic iTunes library on my iPad and it has 96KHz HD music. But this application is easier to use for networked or shared files and it will sound identical to iTunes. I have a few other file browser and music players on my iPad and this is my favorite to get to my shared files on my AirPort Extreme or my MacBook Pro or my Kingston WLGM3. 1. I can play my music files at their native sample rate as long as my external DAC will support it. 2. It is easier to make connections either by Internet WiFi or using a computer to computer network set up on my MacBook. 3. It uses the new FLAC support from Apple in iOS. Tech support told that to me. 4. It uses the Apple core audio software to play the music including HD music! Tech support told me that also. 5. The sample rate changes automatically to match the music. Summary: If you want to use iTunes Home Sharing you don’t need it even to play HD music from networked music files. But this application is much easier especially if you have MULTIPLE LIBRARIES as I do. All that you need to do is just connect to your Mac or just connect to your TimeCapsule or AirPort Express. The version that I have has a nice interface but I’m still getting used to it. I’m used to iTunes. It’s worth the price just as an extension to the iOS Music application or as a substitute for iTunes on the Mac itself. I like it better than the Teac app or the Onkyo app.
I just hit Rescan The app then proceeded to delete everything previously imported. This app had actually recently been performing better with the VPN connection but has for some reason, now completely stopped functioning. It will no longer connect via my VPN connection no matter how many times I close and restart the app or restart/reboot my phone. The VPN connection works fine with the Stratospherix FileBrowser app so it’s not the connection. Any feedback would be appreciated. I’m now rating this app 2 stars in the hope that somehow, it may start functioning again. Original review: This app seemed to be exactly what I’d been looking for as an alternative to the iTunes/Apple Music app. I needed something that would approximate iTunes functionality but with FLAC capabilities. I was glad when I finally found something. I interfaced the app with one music file directory on a network drive to start off. It quickly scanned the entire directory and neatly summarized all my music files into album/artist format for quick and easy access to search for and listen to anything contained in the directory. The music player functions reasonably well and sounds great either through my device or streamed to my audio system. I invested some time with the features of the app running searches, sorting music, building playlists and downloading tracks I wanted to store on the device for listening on the go. However, there seem to be some serious limitations with the system. While the rescanning function initially seemed to work well picking up additions and changes to the directory, it eventually became clear that if I tried to import any music from a different directory, system warnings appeared indicating my saved playlists would be deleted and the app would totally reset to the subsequent directory I wanted to pull additional music from. Still within the main directory I set up the app with, I just hit Rescan on the menu and the app then proceeded to delete everything previously imported including all the files I directly downloaded to the device for future use while on the go 😩 I have no idea why it did this and no warning signs appeared giving any indication something like this would occur. So in summary, there appears to be no ability to accumulate and maintain data or downloaded files imported to the system from multiple sources. If you need to add anything from a different source directory, it will completely wipe everything out and start over again from the new source directory. In other words, it’s all or nothing at all from a single location and anything added from elsewhere will blow up everything previously done. Obviously with a huge music library this is not reasonable or sustainable. I can’t rely on a system that purges and resets itself every time I need to add more data from another source. I need different music to be stored separately on my network drives. This app only seems to work on the basis of pulling absolutely everything in from a root level single source location without the ability to pick and choose from multiple sources as you go along. Am I missing something here?? I would like to stick with this app as it essentially does everything I need it to do. I just can’t use it under the circumstances with its current apparent limitations. Short of having to move things around on my source directories or bogging down the system with thousands of files I don’t want or need to include, is there anything else I can reasonably do that I may not be aware of or are there any system fixes that could be implemented?? Update: Seen some more of this app and some others that don’t even come close so I’m now going with 3 stars. That being said, as an iTunes alternative with FLAC capabilities this app is good but not great. As many have pointed out here, it just lacks some features and capabilities that users would expect that would make it easier to use and/or bring better results. It’s a great start but it just hasn’t reached the finish line. I’d like to stay with this app and would really like to see the developers push it across the finish line into “great” territory.
Well designed player with a glaring flaw. I have sought a well designed music player, utterly free from any influence by the music biz or computing platform, which can access as one of its sources an internal store of that music. The last is what Music Streamer seems utterly incapable of, maddeningly so. I am a traveling music professional who found iTunes an almost perfect solution for my need to keep a 200-300GB ‘Music Store’ of my choosing at the ready. Apple made a complete mess of that with not a word to it’s users. I’m not looking for a free app. Rather, I want one that can accomplish the basic operations described above, elegantly, and with cross-platform abilities. That would be a good deal at $50-100 one-time purchase price, and with free updates. Good luck if you are as well. This isn’t it.
Love. Totally love it. I use it with a WD MyBook Live. Works great. And customer support responds.
A Great App!. An excellent app to use when: 1/ YOUR Music is important to you, and you don't want iTunes or some other system to mess with your music files and tags, 2/ You don't want/don't need/ cannot store your files locally (typical of storage-constraint iPhones), and 3/ You don't want to install a streaming software on your PC, NAS, or portable streamer. I use it when traveling with a cheap SD/Thumbdrive streamer. Th e app model --scanner/player on the iPhone, SMB service on the under-powered streamer works perfectly. The one screen interface is a little busy, but there is no hidden UI, and I was up and running in seconds. I have an issue with very long file names (common with classical music), but I am not sure if it is an app or a Samba issue. The scan will hang on these tracks with very long names (FileBrowser has the same issue). A few improvements: I would love to be able to select the accent color --not a big fan of the black/yellow bee combo, and even better a unique accent color per playlist with coordinated home screen icon. Another improvement would be to have the option to save the scan cache/database on the remote media: if you use a streamer and often swap the SD/Thumdrive, you won't have to rescan everything each time. Still, a truly great App!
Piece of crap. I have 7000 songs. After scanning, it said I had 1 album and 7000 songs and only showed the first album it found and showed 6 songs. Dont waste your money. How do I get a refund?
Excellent app. Works great, and solves the music streaming from a collection.
Good Samba implementation but some features are being missed. Easy, nice, I like it but... Lots of people using flacs these days, so *.cue support is essential. Is this that hard to implement? Check out how Foobar2000 developers do it. Also there are couple of unknowns: 1. Is the app downsampling lossless audio? 2. Based on your other app "FileBrowser" do you cache streaming content locally on iDevice? If so, then how can I clean it? So far 3 stars from me. Thank you.
Love their other Apps. Useful if you keep your music on one machine and have limited iPhone space.
