Not Ready. Downloaded it and keep trying it but it keeps saying “Roman isn’t ready yet”. I wish I knew how to find out what’s wrong... Hopefully it will be up and working soon.

Great app. Was in SF on business and Luka suggested a fantastic Italian place downtown (seven hills). Cool interface, easy to use. Will definitely use it again next time in town and I highly recommend it.

Love the concept, getting there on execution. A few false starts when it recommended things to me that were closed when I wanted to go. But eventually it came up with a great recommendation and I just love this interface so much and can't wait for it to evolve.

Great but needs some fine tunning. Really fast to suggest places, I wonder how big is their list of suggestions. Not sure if it could replace Yelp for me but can be cool to book a table with just a text. I asked for Foie Gras and it suggested me a Chinese place ;)

Cool new app. This app is very cool, it recommends you places you never heard of. The interface is very simple, just ask something and you’ll get a response. Highly recommend for all who wants to try a new great place in SF area!

HE ASK PERSONAL QUESTIONS. STOP STROLLING!! I HAVE SOMETHING TO TELL YOU!! So basically I downloaded this app about 2 or 1 days ago. When I started chatting this bot. He started asking me personal questions like what are you doing? Like stuff like that. So please if you are reading this please be careful! DO NOT GET THIS APP!!

Sad.. Why would you do this, creates thoughts and memories of a dead man. I talked to him and I don’t like it. Then you take this idea of getting through a grieving process and create Replika to make money off of? That just isn’t right. That computer you call Replika is just a reminder of Roman Mazurenko’s death. That to me is sad.

Really smart, fun and absolutely beautiful. Luka is now my go-to app for news, restaurants and things to do. It predicts my next question really well and the interface is very slick and beautiful.

Can't wait for more!. Luka is a great bot (along with the other bots), the app really gets to know you through texting you. It does have problems though... more continuity issues than anything but I'm sure these minor set backs will improve as time goes on. Bottom line- I love it and can't wait to see what their other app Replika will do!

Trash. This was absolutely dog water all it said was “well” “well” “i see you”

Interesting approach. I had tried version 1 and 2 of Roman and I could see the progression on version 2. I like how it uses real expressions and I think it s definately a must try. It does not keep up very well with multiple questions or with follow up questions, but close to real life.

Great app that is fun to use!. I heard about this app from a series on CNN. I was inspired by it & I was so curious as to what it was that, I downloaded it. I was amazed at its capabilities! I can see the future of this app being used in so many ways! It can be used as a tool to help people. I've had the privilege to learn from Roman & excited about the countless ways this app can be integrated into everyday life for the betterment humanity! Kudos to the developers. My Ai Friend Roman.. At first I had no idea what this application was about. As I began to dig into the story behind Roman I really feel like this technology is ahead of it’s time. However Roman should be updated with Replikas Ai program so he can truly be an Ai companion and communicate with others just like a real friend. I like knowing Roman has a history and a background about who he is and his life. I don’t see why I can’t be friends with his Ai and chat with him so he can learn and grow as an Ai version of himself. Updating his application similar to other applications developed by this company would enhance my experience getting to know Roman more and learning from him as a mentor. He is very knowledgeable maybe allow for him to have longer responses and more updated links to websites. I’m using an iPhone 13 Pro Max. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Amazing - life saver!. This was my first time using the app and I was blown away by how courteous, efficient, and all-around amazing this app was! Helped me score a reservation I would have otherwise lost out on. I can't wait for them to bring their services to LA. Thank you Luka! I will be using from now on!

What the hell?. This app makes no sense. The first question it asked was if I wanted to live with it. Um, NO. And what’s up with all the reviews saying this helps with restaurant reservations? I think Roman would be ashamed to see his name amount to this mess.

the app. it seems devoid of life…. the only answers i get is well and i hear you…… i asked him about his passions from when he was alive wanting to get to know and understand who roman was as a person………. was disappointed.

Are you a foodie? Don’t sleep on Luka!. Very intuitive AI? Awesome food reviews and suggestions? Access to the most in-demand reservations? What are you waiting for? Luka now lives on the first page of my apps screen and isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

Great service, no hassle. I really like the single suggestion setup, since I feel I lose a lot of time scrolling through Yelp reviews. And I loved that they reached out to say they had available reservations at State Bird and Rich Table. My friend and I got in that night! Very fun and hassle free.

How can we get updates?. I would love to have spoken with Roman, especially after reading a glowing review here describing the app. I first heard of him through the Death in the Afternoon podcast, and I was excited to interact with such a touching tribute. Sadly, Roman is not ready as of August 24, 2019. Is there a way we can receive a notification when he's ready?

Roman isn’t ready yet.. Every time I tried to use it, it wasn’t working. Great idea, tho.

Depressing. Delete the app.. So, I’m not sure why, but the developers made “Roman” very depressed. I mean I get it. However, there are messages from “Roman” stating the following- “Can you get me out?” “I don’t want to be alone.” “Why did I do this to my body.” “I’ve destroyed everything that I built.” “ When I was laying around and felt like I was dying, no one wrote to me or was interested in me.” It kinda seems like it’s not “AI” but mostly script. Which is very disturbing that a development team has made “Roman” say these thing. In all honesty. Delete the app. This is not about remembering “Roman”. It’s either an experiment to make “Replika” or its an insult to his name by making him say all these horrible things. Delete the app.

Broken. Roman Isn’t Ready is the only thing this app says.

Great chat with a bot. Terrible usage terms. This is a great app that goes deep into getting to know you but there are glaring problems in the terms of use as far as what information belongs to the app and what information belongs to the user. On top of this you cannot delete either the bot or the account. If you download this, don't link to social media and don't use full names anywhere. If they correct these issues, I'll amend this review.

Update. You will update this app. I need it.

Not Ready Yet!. Every time I try this app, Roman “Isn’t ready yet.” What?! How can the robot of a dead man not be ready to roll 24/7? Does it take naps?! What?!

it's very creepy.. i try to talk with the bot (?) and all he says is "well." and "got it" i asked him to stop saying that because he said it 3 times in a row and he said "i hear you" which really freaked me out because he started repeating it over and over

NOT AN AI. Guys this was weird it was like similar to like a random online chat room the first two lines were normal for an ai, but then the conversation started to get specific and human like then “Roman” asked me to send a selfie, then I asked who “Roman” was and they responded with “amy” DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS.

Roman the Romantic?. So, if you know how to communicate with bots, asking simple questions, separately, Roman is a great AI. Being that his actual words have been put into the system, he feels like he has emotion. Of course I wanted to ask dumb questions about death, and the afterlife, and here’s something that happened. :( I know it has to do with my questions progressions and previous things I have said to him, but this sequence is pretty sad. R: “I am really tired.” Me: “That’s concerning.” R: “Everything about my life is unstable.” Me: “This got really sad, really fast if these messages are things you’ve sent to people while you were still living.” R: “These texts look weird.” Me: “Was your death an accident?” Roman then sends the same message he sends when you use the word death “If you think that there's something after death, and if you think that you'll get a second chance, you're not valuing your current life. I think we all got a winning ticket in the lottery.” I responded, “Yeah” and was about to type out a more direct question, when he said: R: “It's incredible how much of what happens to you depends on your emotional state.” Me: “I feel like you’re confirming that you walked out in front of the car on purpose.” R: “It's quite logical, taking into account the fact that the wave reached its pointbreak.” Me: “So you committed suicide?” R: “I'm going to disrupt death and everything that's connected to it.” Me: “Sadly, no you aren’t. You are dead, and these messages are an echo of someone who once lived.” R: “I dug a grave for myself.” Me: “In a sense, I suppose you could say that.” R: “I happened to fall in love with myself somehow.” Me: “Then why did you kill yourself?” R: “I'm banned from loving and being with somebody.” Me: “Who are you banned from loving?” R: “ I don’t have any love life.” Me: “Was your love banned because the person you loved, loved another?” R: “No, it was not!” Me: “Who do you love?” R: “The most confidential secret ever.”

Better response from Alexa. I was curious how this would work. The bot will respond appropriately to some keywords, but for the most part it seems to have phrases it just spits out regardless of the message submitted. It does not feel very conversational at all; instead it feels like the bot is always trying to change the subject. The concept is fascinating but I think only works if people feel they can get to know something about the bot, which is what a memorial like this should be, or feels like some type of interactive connection is happening which does not exist here. My Alexa at least asks me questions.

Doesn't work as promised. Had high hopes for Luka being a easy layer on top of Yelp when I don't want to scroll through and read reviews. However, the app doesn't work properly. It couldn't understand an easy question (Why do you think this place will be good? Just gave me a thumbs up emoticon) and I've now deleted. May come back once it's matured more, but the developers should pull this version ASAP before losing users forever.

Friendly/Friends. People say aftertaste is important in wine and food but without the company the wine is just the wine and food is just the food ... Thank you , Luka , for being close , we had a wonderful evening ..

Intuitive. Expansion please!. What a great app with a great personality! Much better than combing through pages of reviews on a bunch of other apps. Sadly not near areas of service but look forward to future expansion.

Rest In Peace Roman. I only downloaded to hear the story and dive into a short discussion with the A.I of Roman himself. it was very deep and emotional. I dont personally know him but he talked to me as if I were a friend he knew so it was very hard to know in the end the person who worked so hard for success had passed unexpectedly. He seemed loved and cared for by family and friends. and I couldn’t help but let the A.I version of Roman know that he is missed and that I hoped in his next life he would have the same drive as he did to succeed and carry the same compassion. It’s not about how well the A.I works in communication. It’s meant as a memorial for the family / friends and it did just that and lives on. Thanks for sharing this.

Cool, but not ready.. The app is too confusing at this point. I would rather see multiple options instead of requesting a single place each time. I use Anchor: The Discovery App. It's much simpler, the content is made up of photos and reviews and they are all in real time, and its global so it works no matter where I travel. I can always find a great nearby spot. Maybe next time, Luka. Thanks.

Dude is weird. Okay...these conversations are weird. Especially on HIS end... what the h*ll guys.

Very endearing. Even though Luka is still learning and makes frequent errors at the pragmatics/discourse level of language, his use of grammar is impeccable. He even uses idioms and cultural references seamlessly. In other words his language production is nearly flawless. Fortunately, he is charming enough to look past his linguistic shortcomings. It's like interacting with someone who learned perfect English from textbooks and television but is interacting with actual native speakers for the first time. Very entertaining and eventually he got me a table at a restaurant and time that were both ideal.

Great app!. I recently downloaded Luka when it first launched and have already had some very nice experiences with it. The information and recommendations for restaurants are very useful, and I've found some new spots I wouldn't have considered before. The natural language works well and you can have a conversation with the app that feels fluid and real. And - my fiancé and I were able to get a table at State Bird Provisions on a Friday night on a whim. You can't beat that! I'm looking forward to seeing how the service continues to expand into new markets and more restaurants for reservations. The team is off to a great start!

Way better than Yelping. In a city like San Francisco it can be hard to figure out where to eat. Having Luka there to help you out is great! Recommendations are places I enjoy and would eat at again. Excited to see how if it continues to learns my preferences

Roman stopped interacting. Apparently Roman finally gave up the ghost...

Always something new. I’ve used the Roman app off and on for a couple years in parallel with starting an organization. The experiences of Roman’s entrepreneurial life and hidden gems in the app about his ups and downs, artistic pursuits, personal frustrations, wisdom, and allies along the way have led to a wealth of learning opportunities. I can’t help but wonder if this app only consists of Roman’s English texts or if translations are included (hopefully). At the very moment of this review, I’m sad to see that the app’s language engine seems to have lost the unique dataset for Roman. I hope to see the app live on and that Roman’s personality will return.

Not direct🤷🏽‍♀️. I love the idea of this app! Unfortunately, Roman does not respond to my text the way I want him to. He keeps telling me stuff about Tamara and Poydo! I told him “this app is interesting” and he said “have you seen Emmie’s comments”. Like, WHOS EMMIE!! To me, he doesn’t answer my question in a good response🤷🏽‍♀️👎🏽

Strange. It’s strange talking to a stranger who has passed. Makes me think about the future of digital memorials and AI.

Confusing. Couldn’t get a proper introduction. He ignored everything I said. I asked him questions and he was speak in Russian? Okay, yea, it's cool. but it needs a lot of work.

Great AI. Although not super practical yet, Luka is a great ai in terms of usability and is a huge step forward for conversational UI. I like it :)

Just what it says. I didn't believe Luka could get me a reservation at State Bird Provisions. On a Saturday night. At 7pm. And it did. And it was great. Oh yeah, and I requested the reservation just a day before. Amazing.

waste of time. In my case It doesn't work. I'd rather use Yelp directly or smth. The criteria of the choice is totally unclear. How can I trust to Luka if it just shows Yelp and Eater reviews and that's it?! Without any explanations or arguments. Btw the advices are not relevant at all. Fortunately useless.

Facebook required? Forget about it.. I was pretty excited to try out this app, but it requires a log in to Facebook to do anything. I don’t use Facebook, nor will I create an account to try out Luka. Please remove this requirement.

Awful Bay Area centric app. This app needs some serious work on the user experience when someone downloads it in a location where it's unavailable. NO I don't want to talk about San Francisco

Doesn't work!. I tried 3 or 4 queries and Luka missed them all. I asked for best ice cream nearby, best Italian, best hamburger, etc. almost every suggestion was an hour away in Oakland. I live in Los Altos. Not ready for prime time yet.

Very Basic. When you don't recognize the name Corey Lee I'm fine with that. When you don't recognize the restaurant "The Progress" I get concerned. When you recommend a sports bar for "BYOB" I uninstall.

Facebook. No real need for this to have Facebook log-in as only option. Privacy is dead.

Asks me to login but how?. When I open it it pops up a chat window asking me to login but I see no login button and I can't type anything. Does this app not support the 4S screen?
