Problems. I been having trouble with my video calls not notifying me when I have an incoming call I don’t mess with my notifications and it use to work fine but now nothing and today it’s been logging me out due to expired session which makes no sense because it’s always connected without me having to keep the go visit app open and signed in. Please fix

Better way. From what I know when I experience dealing with the GTL app do you need all three for the video visit to work in order to use to go visit app, you need all three which is GTL app GO visit app and the Connect app…. The GTL app is for texting video recordings and pictures. The GO visit app is for video calls. The Connect app is to put money on inmates account. You also have to set up your alerts and notifications to receive your Video call… the issue that I have with this app is the notification. It should have a ringtone, a louder alert…. because I miss my calls all the time. It’s best for the inmate to text message and let you know that they are about to do a video call and to look out for it….

Major glitches. Terrible. Signed up and app wouldn't log me into the correct place even after confirming the account. Then, after everything, every time you close the app it signs you out so even if someone were to call you, it wouldn't even show up / notify you. Awful app.

Deposits. Same thing here I had to enter from another facility that’s not in the same state in order to add funds this is just ridiculous straight up nonsense especially when it just let me add money the night before.🤦‍♂️

A good idea. Wouldn’t it be a good idea to maybe make a ringing noise or something when someone is trying to call you? Just a thought…

Too many issues. The app is not great I can’t even do a video visit with my love one my understanding is the inmate has to initiate the video visit and when he sends a request he is sending it to a email that I am not using to use the app. He talked with the gtl rep there in the prison and he’s being told that I have 3 accounts with connect network and I need to call in and ask them to merge my accounts this sounds crazy! What’s the problem with just using the email that I set up the app that’s the only that matters! I’m frustrated he’s frustrated that we can’t even do a video visit!

Poor server. I hate this app, I have to delete the app and reinstall it often,all because it won’t let me make a deposit it’ll say loading and go back to the screen that I was originally on. I have missed so many visits with my son because I can’t deposit money on my account. I’m about to try it again now because I deleted the app and I’m reinstalling it again, I don’t have a laptop so maybe if I did it’ll work better like everyone was saying but I only have my cell phone. It is what it is.

Ridiculously outrageous. I don’t understand why they don’t update this app. It has so many bugs/problems. It takes you to safari for the visits. It doesn’t work 90% of the time, the other 10% you sit there and struggle with it. On top of that it’s sooooo expensive. You don’t even get free calls or nothing. & you’ll get an update once every 2 years for “bug fixes” which won’t do absolutely nothing & the price will go up.

It’s nice to have but. Obviously, this app is nice to have so we can speak to our loved ones but since the last update my phone, no longer rings for incoming video calls. I have to be looking at the screen and hope I see it. Please fix.

Worst service. I have been using this app for a while now, I pay a lot of money to see my husband. It hasn’t been working properly and when it does work it’s blurry and also cuts in and out. We need an app that if we are going to be putting a lot of money to see our loved ones that it works. I understand they are in prison but we don’t have to suffer as well. We didn’t do the crime and if I want to talk to my husband and pay thousands of dollars a month just to talk to my husband I expect this app to be better with the service they are claiming they provide. Please fix the problem ASAP

Horrible app. I have money on my account and I’m also registered but some reason when my bf tries to video chat it doesn’t work for me. It goes through like it’s going to connect but then I get this message “Sorry there was an issue with your visit. To please call customer service. I emailed them, called them and they can’t fix anything. I sent them a screenshot of the error message I was getting and they still can’t help me fix it. He’s able to video chat with anyone else but not me. I have a iPhone 15 so I don’t know what’s going. Customer service said my phone number n everything was verified as well and I have enough money on my account. Yall need to fix this

Can’t send money. App keeps glitching and refreshing when you want to deposit money you think the app would work but no. Not even the website works👎 why make a app that functions exactly like the website that doesn’t work? it’s just a copy and paste. Terrible app honestly get this off my phone fr got me writing a review and wasting my time 👎 don’t download this app save yourself some time and storage.

DOES NOT WORK !. YOU WONT BE ABLE TO VIDEO VISIT. After waiting 20mins on hold to speak to a rep about my connectivity issues, they informed me my phone number wasn’t authorized then they “authorized it” and it should work and it’s still not working. I have money in the account and it still won’t let me video visit my contact. Everytime I click on my contact to visit it kicks me back to selecting a contact and doesn’t go past that. This app is useless. Does not work. Really upset I deposited more money into my account just for it not to work. The only plus side is that I can use it on the messaging part.

Glitching for more than 7 months!!! 🤬🤬🤬. Terrible! This App has been glitching for more than 7 months. When I want to load $, it won’t let you. It flips you right back to the inmate page over & over again. The only way that works SOMETIMES IS: ** Delete the app from your home screen. Come to the store to DL it again. ** When you sign-in for the 1st time, it usually works, but only ONCE!! What a MF PAIN!!!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Worst app!!. If I could give this app 0 stars, I would. Just horrible. You can’t schedule video visits on the app. It just glitches. So many features for absolutely nothing. When the inmate calls you to video visit on the app, it takes you to the browser so what exactly is the point of the app. It’s wasted space on your phone but there’s no other way to get the call if you don’t have the app.

Money grabbers. This app is the worst. There’s always an issue when you are using it. The connection is terrible, and the quality of the video is pretty bad, too. I have problems depositing money into my account, and the worst thing is that they charge you for sending the message, and then they charge the inmate for opening the message on their end. They are here for the money and they don’t care about awful service that they provide.

All govt contracts should canceled with this app. Terrible app. Haven’t been able to receive a call in months. I keep getting a message saying my camera and microphone are not accessible when there’s absolutely nothing wrong with my phone. The government needs to cancel the contract with this terrible app developer and find something new!! It’s so frustrating

No sound for notifications. I used to get sound/alerts for all notifications in regards to messages and incoming video calls. Back in January of this year the sounds/alerts for messaging just stopped out of no where and now just recently sound/alerts for notifications when incoming video calls come in have stopped making sound/alerts. I have checked my settings on my cell and I have called Apple Tech. There’s nothing wrong with my iPhone 14 Pro. It’s this garbage app that’s the problem. Do the updates that this app needs to work properly. It’s very frustrating to have to stare at your phone so you don’t miss an incoming call from your loved one.

Needs work. The app for the most part hasn’t been too much if an issue besides the fact that when a incoming video call us coming through. If you’re not staring at your devices every second of the day you will not get any type of alert sound wise s call is being made to you. Also, if you want to add money it will continue to loop back to you choosing to either adding to particular inmate tablet or to the family and friends account. You will never be able to get it to make a payment. You will have to go to the website outside of the app and confines as a guest and can actually make a payment which is ridiculous but luckily using your credentials will add to your account even though you make your transaction as a guest. It will be better if they add a notification sound and fix the glitch with making a payment through the app instead of the website and doing it as a guest and not signing into your account

Please fix the problem. There has been a Glitch for two days. My loved couldn’t see his son on his birthday because for this app. I have money on the app and as soon as I proceed to have a video visit it makes the inmate pay and my money disappear with an end result of no connection.

GTL DOESN’T CARE. GTL never addresses the many complaints of their services. They don’t care about keeping loved ones connected and they don’t care about insuring their apps to work properly. They obviously DON’T read these reviews, they are just about money. Sadly there is nothing we can do.

Terrible Terrible Terrible… Never works - can never add money just circles you around and around, freezes n goes white constantly- have to delete n re add it repeatedly - never can actually do ANYTHING once in the app - have tried it on a computer and phone - have the same problems over n over- letting my loved one know im not using this anymore - we’ll have to find another way to communicate. You also have to download multiple apps for every single thing, calls, visits , commissary!! Its ridiculous and i have the same issues on those too. It works when it wants and your not getting your money back if it doesnt work. So its a daily gamble

READ THIS FOR HELP. Have you tried to make a payment? Does it keep glitching whenever you try to make a payment? OK well I have some information here. The way you’re able to successfully make a payment/deposit to get FaceTime calls from an inmate is doing it on a computer an actual like laptop. When you go to the getting out website, do not login. hit the option to “continue as guest”… Now answer all of the questions and it’ll actually go to the payment option and it will successfully let you put in your billing information etc. and submit a deposit. I’ve read all of the reviews and I had not been able to be successful in making a payment using their app, but if you go to the “getting out” website on an actual laptop, computer and continue as guest, it’s like if you’re setting up a whole other account but you’re not. You’re continuing as guest and you’ve already registered and verified your phone number- do the family and friends option to make a deposit and you’ll be able to successfully make a deposit payment… Hope it works! another thing too is you actually never get the app to open up the FaceTime calls. It uses the Safari or Internet browser on your phone.

They’re ripping people off. I DONT EVEN WANT TO GIVE A STAR!!!!!!!!!!!! That’s needs to be an option!!!!!!! I be the processing payments work but the service NEVER DOES!!!! Read any of the reviews you don’t have to take my word for it. THIS APP DO NOT WORK. Customer service is horrible. I’ve downloaded on many devices, restarted devices, deleted apps and reinstalled THIS APP NEVER WORKED ONCE!!!!!!! Updated my account with GTL and everything they’ve asked me I have a iphone15….. and the people FIRST LANGUAGE IS NOT ENGLISH!!!!

Bad quality. Every visit I have with my loved one the camera is out of focus and then constantly goes to a screen that says he moved the tablet to a prohibited area when the tablet is on a doc and doesn’t get moved and we can’t see each other for most of the visit which is just the same as a phone call and a waste of my money. PLEASE FIX!! for some people this app is the only way to ever see there loved one again in life and being able to see the whole time and talk is a blessing to those not incarcerated as well as the inmates.

It doesn’t wring. When the inmate calls from jail it doesn’t wring on my phone, it appears on my screen , how can I fix that, it’s not easy to look at your screen all the time.

Worst app I’ve ever used. Literally.. This is the worst app I’ve ever used in my life. I can’t tell you how many times I wanted to throw my phone against the wall and break it into 1 million pieces because I couldn’t get the stupid app to work. It does not flow smoothly it does not work as it should, I wish there was any other app in the world to use besides this one good luck try not to pull your hair out while using it

Silent Notifications. The app video and audio quality is good. However, the app delivers notifications silently sometimes so it’s easy to miss calls. That is extremely annoying & kinda renders the app pointless.

Deposit don’t work. Deposits on this app will never happen say your self time and a headache just call the app will not let you deposit they lying they might as well remove the whole deposit section cuz it just goin send you to a error message

Pointless. There is absolutely no point for this app. It does not work. When I found out about the app and that my children’s father would be able to use it and video chat with our children it gave me a sense of relief and they’d at least be able to message with him and see him. But come to find out it doesn’t even work so as I stated there is no point. Right now it’s just taking up space on my phone. I think it’s a great idea and concept of it would work. Also it’s a bit ridiculous that you have to have 3 different apps one for messaging, one for video visits and one for adding money to there books. Couldn’t it all be combined into one?

Getting out. This app is terrible! I have to login every time I open it because it doesn't remember my password or offer biometric login. It takes forever to send a password reset link and the most important thing is it gives only a silent notification, no beep or ding and my app notifications are turned on.

Doesn’t Deserve Even One Star. First issue is I can barely hear the notification sound that I have a video call coming in. I literally carry my ipad with me. We video visit about 3 times per day. Second issue, many times he can’t see me…and I see him in a fog. If we can’t see each other then it’s not a video visit it’s a phone call and I should not be charged for it. I spend a minimum of $125 a month to use this app.

Poor app. App crashes when trying to add money to an account. You click on view account and when you go to add it glitches and goes back to make a quick deposit but it actually doesn’t let you deposit anything.

Glitching and the app doesn’t notify with sound nomore. Please bring back app notifications for. I miss a couple of videos calls because the app no longer make notifications sound to inform you of a incoming video call

Visiting my husband per video. This was the first time that I actually was able to see and talk with him from home. It is so comforting to see and hear that he was safe.

To many wrongs. This the first review I ever wrote, the app it’s a waste of time to even try to get it to work, it has more security then your average bank and the customer service is non-existent. Goodluck even talking to your friend or loved one when the whole system they have is messed up all the way from step one. I done entered my SS number, my phone number, had them call my phone number and verify it, my birthday, a photo of the front and back of my ID and a verification for the ID whatever that even means and it still not working saying contact customer service which they do not have so don’t waste your time on it.

Ringtone. The only real problem I have with the app is that you should be able to add a ringtone to it when the call is coming in because I miss the call majority of the time because I put the phone down and miss the notification that pops up, so what’s the point unless your phone is in your hand 24/7 and never blink.. lol..🤦🏼‍♀️

I understand it is a delicate situation. I rate it with 5 stars even though it cost me a bit having to upload documents, having to answer forms. At the end of the day I was able to talk to my best friend, he is an immigrant and he has never done anything wrong. But we must understand the importance of communicating with an inmate, not all conditions are equal

Worst App Ever. This app allowed me to set up an account. The first initial deposit went through no problem. After that it was all downhill and bad. The app glitches, you can’t deposit anymore, if you get lucky and get through to deposit it declines your valid payment method. Customer service is no help when you call the number suggested. Very frustrating when their advise still didn’t work and I have a loved one sitting and waiting, hoping something comes through. If I could give it less than one star, that would be an accurate rating.

Berks County Jail. Worse App Ever. Crashes a lot, the delay when it wants to work is ridiculous, technical support at the jail is not 24/7 and if a family member complains in behalf of an inmate, they tell you the inmate has to contact their support, which, again, work a 8 hrs shift and still don’t do fix the problem. Terrible customer support 👎👎👎👎👎👎 waste of money bc is expensive too and you can’t even enjoy the visit. Mediocre

Horrible. For the last 2 weeks the app either logs me out at random so I miss when my loved one calls- or when I answer my screen stays black and their end shows I declined the call when I did not. Today they’ve called me twice while I have the app open and the call does not come through

Very unreliable and complicated. This is one of the worst apps I’ve ever used. I almost never leave app reviews but I have to speak up on this one. You have to make deposits to be able to communicate, and when you go to the deposit screen, it won’t allow you to make a deposit. It flashes out of the screen both on the app and on the website. It’s like they’re actively trying to disconnect inmates from their loved ones. I’m not sure how this works from the inside or who teaches people how to use it. It is NOT intuitive. Complicated to figure out how to get from place to place within the app. Separate apps for messaging versus phone and video. For somebody who is in jail for the first time, I have no idea how they know where to start with this. As a family member on the outside with somebody on the inside for the first time, it’s very discouraging. It’s almost criminal that jail systems allow this to be the only communication method with people incarcerated.

Horrible!!!. I would give 0 stars if I could. Gamelover’s review is spot on. $.25 a minute to video visit, which is an increase. Service gets worse and worse and they charge more and more. The quality is terrible, the video freezes, my husband couldn’t hear me at all. I had to resort to writing things down on a notebook for him to read. At $.25 a minute he should be able to hear me. Beyond frustrating. And this is the only option we have to do a video visit with our loved ones.

Horrible app, were the developers high?. Doesn’t work consistently. Apparently time of day makes a difference with some features. Payments will work if you are really lucky and keep trying at different times. Others I know personally are having the same problems with different devices and platforms. I don’t normally leave reviews but this one is so extremely bad I felt motivated to tell others.

Slightly disappointed. My bf is in jail and this a great way to communicate. Only issues I have is he can only hear me if I use headphones and there is no way to change the notification sound. One ding and that’s it. Good thing he tells me a time he is calling so I can pay attention to my phone screen lighting up or I wouldn’t know he is he video calling.

This app is trash half the time you can not hear your loved one and they can’t hear you you can just look at each other the other half it’s running a error message and can’t even access the app then you have to wait for your loved one to start a visit instead of being able to set one up the audio when you finally do get a good connection is trash people pay a lot of money in order to use these services to keep in contact with there loved ones you should really try and work on better this app sense you all are quck to take peoples money for picture message that don’t go through and or excitement killer after waiting for a long time to visit your loved one and can’t due to audio issues GARBAGE

App is horrible so is company. As a software developer this is horrific. Then if you call customer service their rude. There are constant issues with accounts, verification, deposits, etc. then when you call they have condescending customer service individuals who are rude and provide very few answers. I might have to start a company with a good product just to put this company out of business.

Horrible. Such a horrible app! Ive made over $70 in depoists yet everytime I want to call or send a message it says insufficient funds and it shows $0. I have all the receipts of the deposits and when I call the customer service number it says some unimportant information and hangs up. No option to speak to someone

It should be illegal. It should be illegal for companies to exist as a carrier to speak to loved ones when their applications don’t work. I really hope this company goes away and a new one comes in for the facilities using it now. There’s no support, the site and apps glitch, and it’s overly complicated. It should be a basic right to speak to your loved ones—a right this company has taken from the resident and their entire family.

Issues. The app would not work for me in that it doesn’t show the funds I put on it nor will it let me call the inmate that I put the funds for. She has tried to call me numerous times and I’m unable to answer her calls despite having funds on her account for her to call me. I’ve called support and they made sure that the funds registered properly. So far the only contact I have is that she tries calling immediately after I try calling her and vice versa. What a way to communicate! You’d think the people monitoring the system would be able to see what is going on and fix the problems. I’m going to try calling support again today to see if they can fix this issue but I think it’s the app 😮

Waste. Doesn’t work in Canada for anywhere other than Alberta

An extremely poor app that rarely works. Unfortunately its also potentially the only app you can use if your loved one is in a facility that Telmate holds the contract for. I have experienced nothing but problems. Scheduled meetings rarely work out with errors, time conflicts even though there are none, no kiosks available even though the scheduled meeting has been accepted. On and On. Very frustrating to have weeks go by and not be able to visit with constant errors. Not just on mobile devices like iPad but also on the PC based version. In the day and age of FaceTime, zoom, messenger, WhatsApp etc this service is so poor its barely conceivable. Telmate get your act together these incarcerated people rely on some hope from the outside world.

Don’t waste ur time in Canada. Doesn’t work for Canada. Although there’s one option to choose Alberta. Doesn’t work for anything else and it’s not attached to the .ca site

Horrible. The video visits can’t be scheduled bc you always get an error and if you reach out for help they send you generic responses. It’s a money trap. They prey on loved one at their most vulnerable times.

This application is not functional and is a complete waste of time.. I tried twice and never worked. The app looks great and full of potential but the reality is the opposite because it did not do anything at all just wasting your time.

To deposit: get access via a computer, not mobile. As others have mentioned, you cannot deposit via mobile or app as the app glitches into a loop. You can get on the web and deposit as a guest and attach the funds to your telephone number.

Unhappy. I do not like the app because it only shows my inmates face it doesn’t show him me. Multiple times we tried and it’s nothing that pops up on my end but a black square and I can see him.

Doesn’t Allow Me To Schedule A Visit. Something must be wrong with the app, it doesn’t allow e to schedule a visit. When I click on the contact it just takes me back to the original Home Screen

Horrible service. Most of the time my son can’t watch movies or play games. Doesn’t get videos or pictures I send. No tech support for them.

Notifications and Connection. My notifications are on. Yet I don’t receive any notifications when I receive a incoming call. And when I accept it I always get the message of waiting on participant to join.

No stars horrible is I could. Horrible service all the time, long customer service wait times, takes a long time to fix phone service and have yet to fix my husbands tablet for visits. It’s been 3 months.

The worst app I HAVE EVER DOWMLOADED. This app took about $43 from me. I deposited that money onto the account for video visits with my boyfriend and come to find out there’s no money on the account. WHERE IS MY REFUND? And why can’t I get connected to anybody?

Worst app known to mankind. Every aspect of this app is awful. I know it’s some peoples only option and I can appreciate I can at least communicate but it’s truly the worst functioning app I’ve ever used.

Terrible app. Whoever designed this app should be locked up and forced to try to use it. Then maybe they’ll see how terribly frustrating it is. Beyond glitchy, confusing, terrible, disjointed.

Do not use. This is false advertising for calls and video calls. This app freezes all day long and when u try to call them ask for assistance they won’t answer your call. Put you on hold for hours

hmm. its nice to know that you can receive texts and send texts, but yet when video chats are sent, you can only join NOT send a video chat yourself. EVEN if you DID pay to have video chat time. that makes no sense. they need to update it fix the bugs in the system. you should not pay to be able to call someone if it keeps giving you a dead end link when trying to call said person.

Fix the issue please. After doing all that I could to visit a loved one, I come to find out it’s a issue on your end. Please fix the Video visit issue with IPhones/ipads.

Verify Verify Verify. Why do you have to verify your identity every time you login to app. How many times do I have to take a picture of my ID. It’s all about the money with this app, and all gtl apps. SMH

Never works. This app is terrible. Constantly have to log in, and inmate visit invitations never come. No ability to get notifications when inmate schedules a video visit. It’s been broken since the last update.

Video visit. The app almost never lets me schedule a video visit without contacting Support first. Then when I finally do get one, the majority of the time the call drops and we get screwed over anyway.

App is needs an update ASAP. This App randomly take me back to previous screen once I try to depositing funds. It’s annoying please update!

Bad. This app is horrible keep logging me out it won’t let me log in I didn’t forget my password I’m putting in the right information

Horrible. My husband been trying to video me and it tells him I do not have the app when I do. Even regular phone calls are not coming in

What Happened?. Used to work fine but now my verification keeps being rejected and customer service won’t respond. If your gonna have customer service they should actually speak to the customers smh.

The worst. This is the worst app ever every time. My family tries to call me. It doesn’t put the call through it. Either drops it or nothing happens at all to waste of money.

Frustrated. Why does the app keep logging me out? I never had this issue until about a month ago. Now I have to delete the app and make sure I’m logged in and wait. That’s why I got the iPhone so I could just get the notification

Disappointed. I repeatedly tried to set a video visit with my love one and i keep receiving a air message that says "Sorry, Visit Now is not available at this moment. please wait a few minutes and try again. I need some help

Deposit don’t work. Deposits on this app will never happen say your self time and a headache just call the app will not let you deposit they lying they might as well remove the whole deposit section cuz it just goin send you to a error message
