Not structured well. Bothersome. I gave it a shot. Pros: It’s at least 2nd amendment friendly for now. Cons: Lack of control. Completely. People who complained about how much Facebook was controlling, suddenly find themselves on a site with no control. It’s not well structured at all. Difficult to find your own content (posts made on individual pages are almost impossible to find). The site owner likes to compare MeWe to Facebook. It’s not even close to being on the same level. Even as anti-second amendment and controlling as Facebook is, people still can’t give it up. MeWe... easy to give up. Really was hoping this site would be more. Disappointed. At least it’s still free... for now. That looks to be changing soon too, as I’m now getting pop ups for their Premium version, or something like that. No notifications when you get messages. No notifications for posts, even when you turn notifications on. Surprised it’s still functioning.

A movement the world needs. #not4sale. There is plenty of content if you join a group or two. I love that I get to control what I see instead of an algorithm. I love that I am not the product, their service is. Social media censorship has become blatant, far beyond them being able to just blame it on the algorithm or pretending it is just crazy right wing extremists. It is full of people that value freedom. But watch, other social sites and articles will try to brand WeMe as extremist. How do they make money without ads? The same way Netflix does without ads... they charge a small fee. The fees WeMe charge are hardly anything and is worth it to have control. Take back your freedom. Their #not4sale movement should be more of a focus than it is. I think it is brilliant and they should facilitate people doing that hand signal over their eyes on Facebook and Instagram. I set my profile as that. This software is just a Facebook alternative, it is a movement. A movement we all should believe in. Apple should promote this app and the #not4sale movement in any way they can to weaken the power of Facebook.

So thankful!. I activated MeWe in the hopes of being able to have a forum among friends, without outside intrusion. MeWe has accomplished this although I am having some difficulty in convincing friends to spend time on the site...still a work in progress. I am also having some difficulty with sharing from Facebook, and other sites, to MeWe, and I have asked someone in the know to assist me. I am pleased with MeWe overall. It’s a year later and the problems I was experiencing with sharing seem to have been corrected...thank you. I continue to have some difficulty in convincing friends and acquaintances to start using MeWe however. I will continue to make the “sale” that MeWe is probably the best social site for privacy. THANKS MEWE!

Poorly marketed. I had never heard of MeWe before (could use some advertisement to the general public) but recently, due to Facebook’s continued censorship of my posts, I decided to check it out on my friend’s request. I like it so far but there are a few things I found strange. First I think it is poorly marketed. The name itself presumes a viewer to think it’s a child’s app. I definitely think a name change would be more appealing to potential customers. Also, the sign up immediately asks if you’d like to upgrade for a fee which makes people believe that it costs money to join. Why not offer the upgrade days later to avoid the confusion and keep people from immediately turning away? Also navigation is not bad but some features are not convenient. I can’t tell if I have already “emojied” someone’s post until I look at the “ALL” section. Just some things to look at to make it more appealing.

Best & fastest growing social media site. I came to this app due to how utterly bias FB app has become at censoring specific people and groups and labeling conservatives as terrorist. As an American we are supposed to have the freedom of speech and that is being suppressed on certain social media sites which is against our Constitution so I’m overjoyed that there are some other options for people to stay connected. So far I love this app and hope it surpasses FB soon. I love how they don’t have any pop ups on marketing which is ALL I ever saw on FB. I have high hopes for this app. I also noticed there isn’t any commercials interrupting when watching videos which was driving me crazy on FB so I’m glad to see this social media app not being used as a marketing platform .

Ok!. Just joined a couple of weeks ago and I can say it’s a good alternative to FB. Wish there were a few changes though, that’d make it easier to handle. I want to mention that I’m using the website version. -newest posts should be at the top, just below the article, not at the bottom -I don’t see an activity history: my posts, likes, comments, friendship confirmations, etc...like a timeline -I should be able to change the name on profile anytime, not just once per month: I created an account just to try out the app and I’ve just put down a random name and now I have to wait a month to change it -notifications are overwhelming, I get them every single time a person is posting a comment to an article/video and I also get them every time there’s a new post....it’s just too much and there’s no way you can select what notifications you get (for example I only want to be notified if someone commented on my post or answer to my comment or if I got an emoji and such) -I’ve just accepted a friendship and there’s this big photo of this person (my new friend) taking up 1/3 of the main page with no option to dele it, or replace it. Other than these little frustrations, I like MeWe, I feel FREE!!

It's almost perfect but there's something wrong.... The platform is great itself as a great alternative to Facebook who wants a safe haven from ads and publicity and connect to people who they want. The app itself is quite buggy especially the Stories. Uploading videos shrinks down to 60-70% and adds a green background on my uploaded video. Sending a video is impossible on Chat. We can't mute chat threads especially groups as its getting annoying. It would be awesome if we could hide annoying chat threads and can be seen anytime we want on a different tab. Create new post button is annoying as it can't be moved making reactions on bottom posts of the screen impossible. It would be awesome if we have tagging contacts to a post possible, associating them into a post appearing also into their timeline if they accept being tagged on. The platform itself is quite dry and it should add more ideas to keep people associate themselves more into the platform to gain more users not just being private alone. This platform has a lot of potential, it's just that everything's aint planned well. I hope for more updates to come soon in the future and fix future bugs. Make your costumer/help support more accessible as feedback feature doesnt give any care about our concerns. Listen to people if you want to evolve. Thanks!

It’s great but constant spammers make it impossible. I like MeWe and enjoy the Facebook alternative. I wish there was a way to filter spammers more such as a required captchas if you post more than twice in an hour. It’s getting quite scary. I’ve seen child pornography spammed twice within the last week! That is completely unacceptable and I wish there were a way to prevent this thing from happening. Another thing is the notifications. I wish there was not a notification when you were blocked from seeing the message. I am blocked from a particular group and I still receive notifications of people commenting on my posts. Is there a way to turn it off? I wish when someone gets blocked that all messages from them could just be deleted. It would make everything so much easier.

Great idea but difficult to use. I’ve started a group with a friend but am pulling out my hair trying to get the mechanics to work. Would be members are supposed to answer one of four questions we posted as a condition precedent to being accepted. I m to have the power to say yea or nay. So far, I’ve not seen a single answer and can find no instructions as to how I can find them and make this feature work. Needless to say, getting new members has been very difficult. I’m also extremely frustrated with the photo upload feature that works only part time for me. I have thousands of photos stored in various folders on my IPad. I need to be able to access them to illustrate my MeWe posts posts EASILY, but MeWe won’t let me get to them in any file other than some MeWe photo storage file called “recent.” Only on rare and inconsistent occasions has MeWe allowed me to choose the file from my iPad photo app from which I wish to upload a photo, attach it to a comment, and do so. The only written help I’m finding published by MeWe on this problem simply does not work! I signed up for a premium membership for which you will begin to charge me. But if I can’t get help/fixes for these two problems I will not be sticking with you for much longer - notwithstanding how much I’ve grown to detest Facebook for its growing content censorship and management’s political viewpoint.

From google +2 may we. I am absolutely loving this new app. It is quite close to google plus but there is some more of the privacy to it. And there's more I guess pieces the word to say. Very enjoying this I love it a lot. You could still post comment do polls do as much as you can like how you would on a Google plus. You could even share videos on there. Very well good app it freezes every now and then it has its moments. But it's OK, Google plus does the same thing it freezes in a come factor normal. So it's all good don't mind that at all. You're one of those people that likes social media stuff and I want to Google plus to Instagram to Facebook etc. then this is your app go ahead and sell it right now it's pretty cool check it out!

Well Made App with Good Intentions!. I very much adore this app, down to the sleek design, pages and private groups, it reminds me of another competitor, but much better! Best of all, there’s privacy, practically no ads, and no in-app purchases! I only ask more features are added to Pages in the relative future such as being able to add moderators to your page, along with adding moderator actions such as deleting inappropriate content, kicking those from the page, ect. I’d also like to see a sort of group chat for each page in which members in a page can make group chats, such as for art, roleplaying, and discussion. I have faith in this app, a faith that this app does not sell our private information, doesn’t add constant ads that become spammy, and keeps to its word. Only a year into production and you have a great app in your hands, make the best of it. For that, you have my download.

Great Social App!. I love the features and the cause of making the app! When I follow someone it means I actually want to.. well you know.. follow them! Why is that so hard for the other social apps? I don't want to see them less often if I'm not interacting with them, and I don't want socials fill my timeline instead with things they think I should be seeing. Suggesting okay though. I wish we had an app that's not so prudish about adult content. That's basically human nature and it's okay if done between consenting adults. An app can ask for your birthday, let them know the importance of it, only show it to adults, let them be able to choose, and don't hide the option to choose. It's that easy. This app has many good features I see in other socials, and because of it's good cause, I hope it keeps getting more popular!

Better Than Facebook At The Core. MeWe is a solid social media site and is at it’s core far better than Facebook. The core of MeWe is the fact that all the groups, chats, and personal contact activity are kept separate and yet, in their parts, together. So in a group, or in a personal de facto contact, you have a private chat and private posting board. But none of your personal contacts can figure out what groups you’re in. Additionally, in formal groups, you can have private chats and never need to become formal contacts or see each other's profile. All these structures allow for people to operate online and not be targeted for their ideological differences. That’s a big plus, given the lynch mob mentality of lots of folks online these days. However, there is plenty of room for improvement. For example, when we post links, the preview image doesn’t display. Video of any reasonable size can’t yet be uploaded. Live video so far doesn’t exist. Also, as of now it is unclear what the revenue model is, since the site is advertisement free. My guess is that they will need to produce a premium feature model to continue growing, which is to be expected. I don’t use Facebook much anymore because they have clearly demonstrated they are not ideologically and politically neutral.

Terrible Customer Support. A group I belonged to was deleted. Apparently before it was deleted the group had 9 unread messages/posts/chats. Now, on the chat screen, it alerts me that I have new chats on the deleted group. But when I click on the group I get a message saying group was deleted. On 10/19 I sent feedback regarding the problem. I received an auto-generated, generic reply. To date I have not heard ANYTHING back from them, even though the auto reply said someone would be in touch with me “shortly”. That was 24 days ago. I hardly think that 3+ weeks qualifies as “shortly”. It seems they are, in fact, just like FACEBOOK. I only belong to two groups, both of which are not very active, so I’m not swimming in chats. The issue is annoying. The platform - not much different than FACEBOOK. This company, in my opinion, I guarantee you, is like other companies that create apps: they will ignore customer service requests UNTIL you write a bad review. Then they are quick to action. Time will tell.

Delightfully refreshing. I first joined MeWe when it first came on line— but did not stick with it— mostly because I couldn’t figure out how to use it— but also because very few of my friends were on it. I pretty much left and returned to “familiar” Facebook, which, by this time, was heavily manipulating the “main feed” as well as censoring basically anything that did not fit the narrative and ideals of Zuckerman. I went through a series of Facebook “incarcerations”— first a couple of 24 hr “jail stints”, then a couple of 3-day bans, a week long ban, and now I’m finishing up the last five days of a THIRTY DAY ban on Facebook— and thank goodness it was this that sent me BACK to MeWe and how I discovered that it’s either been improved—OR— I was forced to “learn” it. I have reconnected with friends that I didn’t know had left Facebook for MeWe. I plan to stick with MeWe even when Zuckman and his goonies let me out of jail— and Facebook will only be used to see posts from my family. I will invite my friends that have wondered where I’ve been (we were still able to stay in touch by Messenger) and let them know if they still want to see the posts of mine they have always enjoyed— they will find them ONLY on MeWe! And in addition to MeWe— I now RARELY use Google for my search engine! Got tired of every product I ever searched— ending up on my Facebook feed! And— I enjoy that on MeWe— I am NOT constantly told to “go get vaccinated “!

Total Control of your own Social Media Security Protocols.. It has been over week now and “I AM ALL IN” with MeWe. It is refreshing to use, knowing that your security and privacy is the top level of the design that you do not have to think about. It is so comprehensive in your group sections and so easy to vet people and groups. It’s just plain delightful to use to communicate with others. My personal information is MINE to control or disseminate as I choose. There is nothing else worth using. I will spend 2 weeks inviting FB people to MEWE but after that, FB gets Washed, Flushed, Rinsed and Shredded. It Is very hard to communicate with a closed mind. FB is like a pickpocket that is able to steal the underwear that you have on without Actually taking off your suit pants while you are walking down the street😱.

Bland and now greedy. So let me get this off my chest here...MeWe isn’t really that great of a social media platform. It tries to act more like a business website, connecting people through phone numbers and such. And really it just seems a little bland. Many topics that are brought here are too typical and one sided. On top of that nobody really uses it, so of course there’s gonna be a lack of content(this is just personal experience by the way, but I wouldn’t be surprised if anybody was having the same problem). And now the most recent update ruined what it was trying to really be. Apparently the entire first year it had been out it was in its “beta” phase, where practically everything was free. Publishing pages were free. Now, they want your money. I’m sorry, but it shouldn’t take a year for a beta phase. What really is happening is MeWe is getting greedy. They’re now realizing that nobody is using their platform because of how boring and lackluster it is. There’s really nothing exciting about it anymore. Honestly I thought this would he a suitable replacement for Google Plus. Now, it’s just as bad. I’ll give it three stars just because I want to be nice and I did have fun when MeWe first came out. But with each and every update it just got more bland. Really I should give it one or two stars. Will be deleting after I post this.

Very Slow and Nearly Non-Responsive UI. This day and age, if an app is easy to use and understand, by default that would be a 3 star starting point,l. But... on an iphone 11 pro max, it takes a few seconds to move around inside the app and responsiveness is very laggy. It is not my connection speed not how I am connected to the internet through my phone (cell vs wifi), either way, the app responds very slowly to almost input. As far as easy to understand, it does a poor job as to how to follow or sub to other users and businesses. There is not any sort of guided tour that would help the user understand how to operate the app. Not very intuitive app and requires a lot of guess work.I’m not will to pay for use of the initial experience isn’t very well. At least give a new user an opportunity to (a free trial 7 days) know what experience we should have if paid? Please improve the responsiveness of this app. Examples can be provided upon request.

bugs/glitches are making it unusable. i’ve been using this social media app for over a year now (made my account in october of 2018) and it’s been wonderful through and through. a few little notification bugs here and there, sometimes when i save photos from the app they get corrupted, not really big issues for me. but for the past week or two, i’ve been dealing with a glitch that affects my post making. i don’t know if i’m the only one who deals with this or not, but when i go to type out a post, after whatever i’m typing exceeds the first line, it just disappears. it’ll still be there when i post whatever i types, but i’m unable to see it, edit what i typed under the first line, or anything like that. this has made it impossible for me to type anything lengthy, i’ve had to go into the notes app on my phone to type out posts so i can actually see what i’m typing. i’ve reached out to the support team a few times and only got back a generic email response. this only happens on my iphone, it’s perfectly fine on my computer. please fix this!! i’d like to be able to use the app properly and will be willing to give info to try and fix the problem if needed.

Needs some improvement but give it time.. I have been with Mewe for a while now. I can say this. I left FB after they really started cracking down with censoring and fact checking everything. When I joined Mewe it did take a while to use. Lots of trial and error to get use to it. I can honestly say using Mewe on my computer is a lot easier and better to navigate then on my phone. Something I hope with time Mewe will improve on. There are other changes I hope Mewe improves as well. For instance the users. It should be easier to search for friends by name, location, work place, school, etc. And users really need to apply a profile picture. Also Mewe needs to filter through all the profiles that aren’t being used. When I search for someone with a common name you have to weed through 100s of people with no location listed. Sorry but these profiles need to go. That would help filter things better. TIME I know is the key. Mewe offers a suggestion tab. So please use this. Give them ideas on what could help improve this platform and to make it more user friendly. And hopefully more people will join.

This app is awful for blind and visually impaired folks.. This app is terrible for blind and visually impaired users. First of all, all I get when I get into the app after I’ve signed in is the news feed. At the bottom of the app where it has the tabs I tap on more. Then it just shows me that it has sales upgrade journal and a few other things. But there is not an option to post or anything like that. Furthermore, when I get into the groups or something like that it is hard to find a group. Whoever developed this app needs to take a class on how to make it user friendly to the blind and visually impaired. Oh, one more thing. I signed up for premium service. It looks as though at least from a wine person‘s perspective the app does not realize that I signed up for premium service. When I double tap on chat it just tells me a search for a name but it doesn’t give me the option to video chat or anything like that. And when I try to chat with the robot it does things that I don’t know what it’s doing on the screen like a meme or something like that. Sorry folks but your app is absolutely awful for a blind and visually impaired person. Apparently, you need to take some classes and how to make this better. Or just redo the whole entire app.

Things to change. I don’t like that when I allowed my contacts to be accessible I didn’t get to choose which contacts. It literally sent out an invite to everybody in my phone including my ex-husband. I should have an option to choose which people not just everybody. I also think that when I delete a friend request that that person should not be informed or be able to send me another one. I’ve had the same person send me a friend request eight or 10 times. I don’t want to be with friends with everybody that was in my phone contact list. The app itself is easy to move around and navigate. Thank you for giving us another opportunity to have an app like this other than Facebook. Oh and as I said here trying to create a nickname to finish this review every single one of them I come up with is taken including random numbers so I’m having a hard time even submitting this review

Best Social Media App out there!. have been looking for a social media platform that didn’t sell my behavior as a product to the highest bidder. I use MeWe whenever I want to. I don’t feel compelled to use it like I did with Facebook. MeWe focuses on privacy which is awesome. No other platform does it like MeWe. I’d much rather pay $5/month than have my behavior be a product for sale. Watch the Social Dilemma on Netflix and you’ll think twice before opening any other social media app. Stay far away from “free” social media platforms and come over to MeWe. I’m sure you’ll like it. The iPhone MeWe app performs very well. No bugs, granular notification controls and a wonderful experience. Highly recommend it!

Horrible Staff. The staff which watches over the reports of wild users are genuinely awful. There was a literal Nazi running around on this website and he only calmed down once him and his friends were doxxed and whipped into shape by the users. Not the mod team. The users. Not just that but there is currently someone outright abusing the system with heavily edited photos. They have gotten several people banned and have been banned themselves. If you see this, for the love of god STAY AWAY. It’s clear the staff doesn’t care, is too small, or too dense to deal with someone breaking the law and abusing the system they put in place. Don’t download this if you plan on being on Alt, because they could care less about your problems even if they are outright illegal.

Starting to Vex Me. Have not fixed issues, have offered solutions and they have not been heeded, group chats are the worst so you have to turn them off because otherwise they blow up your feed, I joined groups to be a part of honorable things like exercise and military veterans, and perverts find me to request contacts through these groups. So if it is about privacy, there is no point in having these social groups when there will always be perverts male and supposedly female on them. They claim privacy but if you freely allow people in no one can be trusted anyway because it seems they don't have any way of screening accounts. Major issues besides perverts: the photos issue I reported multiple times, the Chatrooms, and the auto-notify of you don't choose the "I don't wanna hear anything from strangers in my group" check boxes. I'm trying really hard to be objective but when I tell developers about the problems and after months they are NOT getting fixed, I get annoyed. More than that. I close my wallet to any donation I wanted to help them with.

Corporate American Giants..as they did in Hitler’s rise to power..eagerly become complicit because they believe it will benefit them financially as oppression and terror reign. MeWe is a bastion of free speech standing alone among the rubble of American Liberty..this is the Democrat Dream. A destroyed and fearful nation. If MeWe falls victim as others have this light of Freedom will be extinguished forever. Twitter, FB, IG...listen to their words..”We’re just following orders.”

Great FB alternative...not entirely free. This app is definitely a great alternative to the politically biased editor app called Facebook. You keep your right privacy and you can easily connect with friends and groups of your choosing. It’s super easy to navigate, and so far I haven’t had any issues using the app. The only downside is that it’s not entirely free. In order to get many of the same features that you get with Facebook you have to subscribe for $4.99/mo. To create any kind of professional/business page you have to pay an extra $1.99/mo. It’s nothing that’ll break the bank but it’s still money out of our pockets, and that $7/mo starts to really add up. $7 for a year comes out to $84 😱 That’s money that could go towards groceries, or supplies for the home. Especially when people can barely afford to put food on the table because of these stupid lockdowns, it’s hard to justify paying for these features and that’s why for many people Facebook is still, even with all its crooked ways, the best social media option.

No support, impossible to register. Hoping for fix.. I was getting fed up with Facebook, and started asking for recommendations on alternatives. Loved the idea behind MeWe, not selling data, privacy, etc. BUT. I have now tried over several days to register and start a profile with them and despite trying many times with the app, different browsers (Safari and Chrome), trying vérification by email and by phone number; all I got time after time, day after day, was a generic “Something went wrong” error message. I could find no way to contact customer support on their website or through the app. Left messages on their FB and Twitter asking for help, but got no answer. MeWe, please fix your registration issues and get some customer support staff! It sounds like you have promise as an independent social media platform and I’d love to join! Rating one star because at the moment the platform seems to be completely broken.

Has potential. Lacks in features.. UPDATE 2022: even though it’s been many years since I reviewed this app, my complaints about the app still exist. After all these years you would think they would have improved and modified the app so that it is better suited for the iPad. First, there are a couple things that annoys me with the app. The first is that the app does not take full advantage of the real estate on the app. There is a bar on the right and left side when view the post from a group. I don’t get it. We have all that space and it is not being utilized. The funny thing is that the actual website has the same issue. The second issue that I have is more on how the site organizes postings. I wish there was a set of categories that user could select from and the is predetermined by the admins of the group. The hashtags creates a mess.

Good and getting better. Like many others I left that other site because I was tired of what was going on there. This has been a great alternative and has really grown on me in the last few weeks. It’s different, and just like anything new it takes some getting used to. Let’s be honest, when you left my space it took a while to get used to the next social media platform. This is no different, but after a week or so it’s becoming quite comfortable. I come at a bit of a disadvantage, I was only on one social media platform, I did not use any of the others. That being said, I can’t compare mewe to the others. What I have found on MeWe is that I’m only seeing the things that I want to see, not what others filter or choose for me. There are no ads, which is a huge plus. I was getting very tired of all the ads. Its been easy to add friends and family, and we were easily able to create a private group for everyone to share, it’s kind of like us all having our own private timeline. I’m sure the site will evolve over time, and I look forward to seeing it grow.

So much better than Facebook. It’s basically just like Facebook, but much cleaner both aesthetically and ethically. No advertisements, no algorithms manipulating what you see, no data mining, and a strong commitment to privacy. You are not the product which I appreciate. It makes its money by offering certain features at low-cost. Well her personal page or while or whatever you call it is free, a business page cost $2.50 Per month. Business page post don’t need to be boosted because they are shown to everyone who signs up to see your business page, unlike Facebook which hides your posts unless you pay extra to boost them. I’ve only been on MeWe for a week and I love it. We just need to put real effort into filling it with content an encouraging her friends to move over and do the same so that it has a chance of survival

More bugs with each update. Every time I run an update this app gets worse. Currently every time I open a chat with a particular friend the phrase I had typed just prior to the last update appears in the dialogue box and I have to delete it unless I want him to think I’m the most redundant person in the world. The app used to open to my chat window, which is what I use most. Now it auto opens to the home screen which I can’t stand because I have no need to go there and there is no option to revert back to the old default. When someone sends me a me or we it will often appear in our chat feed multiple times. Other time all I get is a black circle with the spinning loading icon. And occasionally my mes or wes text or pictures don’t send at all. When I use the camera function to send a picture it is much darker than it should be and half the time I click to take a photo it simply leaves the camera feature and goes back to the chat window. This app is more trouble than it’s worth.

Buggy UX. There’s several poor UX elements that make it tedious and unreliable. When you first join, it searches your contacts for people who are already members — when you’ve checked off the ones you want to add, and click the confirming button, nothing happens. The button doesn’t change to indicate it’s been clicked. So you button mash it to try to get your input to go through and after a 10 second delay it gives you 100 pop ups and sends your contact multiple emails. Then that contact clicks accept on all the emails and nothing happens — you don’t get added to each other’s contacts or anything... And then the search function doesn’t return any results so I have no way to connect with anyone. You also can’t delete messages from your inbox — no slide to delete, which has become standard for all messaging systems on mobile (Facebook Messages, Gmail, etc); you have to go into the chat you want to delete and delete it from there. Not worth it to keep trying to troubleshoot the entire experience.

Requesting help. I need assistance I can no longer access my account on any of my devices. I’ve been trying to figure out what to do I’ve even tried to reset my password but the app won’t send me a text so I can reset my password. So I have no idea what to do now since I can’t even send an issue report to ask for help. I’ve asked other users of the app to see if anyone else is having the same problem as me but they say nothing that is happening to me is happening to them so I’m at a loss there. One even suggested that my account was hacked If possible can someone please figure out what is wrong and rectify the situation.

Trying Hard to Enjoy. I REALLY want to enjoy MeWe as much as I enjoyed Facebook! I’m totally deleting my Facebook next Saturday, so this is important to me because been trying so hard to get into this app. It just doesn’t seem as user friendly as Facebook. And it’s a shame if I have to pay to make it that way! I didn’t have to pay for Facebook. And that may be due to the ads paying for it there. I think that because it’s not being user friendly my friends may have already given up on it, so I’m not receiving much interaction from them here. 😔 Either way, I’m trying to give it a go. I’m truly struggling to enjoy this app as much as I did Facebook.

Great app. Great social media platform. Has almost everything I want in a social media platform. It’s like the Good Twin of Evil Twin Facebook. I didn’t expect as many great groups as there are. Only two things are needed from my perspective. 1) Replying to a chat message is possible via browser, but not the iOS app. 2) We all know that posts with images get more attention. I like to post to MeWe via iOS sharing from my RSS feed reader, Feedly. Unfortunately the thumbnail associated with the website page and shown in the reader isn’t included in my MeWe post as it is with iOS sharing posts in other social media apps. Furthermore, there is no way I can find to edit my MeWe post to pull in the image from the hyperlink or by uploading a local copy as is possible in CloutHub etc. post edits.

Not a free speech platform. Once again a site proclaims one thing and in actuality its a lie. Mewe states they are free speech but yesterday booped off certain groups without any warning . The said groups were doing nothing wrong but a email did surface saying they are doing this for scammers. This is bloody nonsense noone said any such thing in the groups existed. It was a way for them to legally delete some groups that might b controversial to some. These groups were for collectors only. Some where they could b with other collectors, hobbyists, etc like minded people. They caved just like all the rest. They are no different just packaged a different way but at the core they practice censorship the same!!!! So dont believe the hype of the free speech sites if they are on apple or google they are beholden to the powers that b. One misstep and they will b pulled. Parler learned that the hard way. So Mewe u lie sorry your sweet words belie the truth you are as free as fb, deadbird, etc. This doesnt surprise me much and I didnt get on your site much. But when I did I had a few groups I checked in on even that usefulness is gone. Your site serves no purpose to me if what you say isnt true! Which you blatantly went b on your word yesterday!!!

Very Immature Platform. MeWe has a lot growing up to do if it wants to really compete with much more developed platforms, like Facebook. The interface is rather clunky and somewhat slow. It isn’t very easy to navigate either. It’s nice that they are about protecting your privacy, but so far it has come at a cost - usability. I don’t think this needs to be the case, but it currently is. Perhaps as more (and possibly better) developers come on board they can fix that. We all (well, most of us) complain about the super secret algorithms Facebook uses to decide what to show you, but after using MeWe I see the reason why Facebook does that. Unfortunately, Facebook took it to the extreme and used that power for censorship instead of user convenience, but that didn’t have to be the case. MeWe, as far as I can tell so far, defaults to just showing you EVERYTHING in the order it was posted and there isn’t any way to filter it for what you are looking for or what you want to see. I think giving users simple filters they can set (and save) for their feed and for inside individual groups would go a long way to solving this without taking control of what is presented to users completely out of their hands, like Facebook does. If MeWe can make their site and this app more usable and easier to navigate I would give this a better rating. Until then, 2 stars. It works but is meh.

It’s really cool but here is my main issue with this app. I am a new user of this social media platform and I got to say I am really having a great time on it the big major issue that needs to be fixed in the next update is crashing. It crashes almost all the time it will work eventually but besides that it keeps crashing no matter what I try to do even when I open the app and for the first five seconds it lags and then crashes So to whoever made this social media site you did a fantastic job but, you need to update it and fix the bugs and crashing issue it may take some time but I know you can do it.

Finally chronological order news feed unlike FB who picks what you see first. I signed up for MeWe about a week ago. I have family and friends whom I want to invite but I want to know everything about this site before I add others. I love the way the news feed stays in chronological order. You have a choice to have the latest posts on top or the most recent comments on a post on top. Facebook won’t even show you some of your friends posts so I miss important post on Facebook. The privacy is so welcome! You do have to activate a setting if you don’t want strangers asking to be your friends. I wish this was automatic. I think they were group members from a travel group I joined. But I do not want strangers for friends. I was tempted to leave the group but after I found the setting to restrict non contacts it stopped the stranger invites. I still want to know how to start a private group. I want to set up a family group. We have one on Facebook but people are leaving Facebook like crazy and I want to have a new platform ready where they don’t have to worry about privacy, security and unencrypted passwords. You can see more settings on a browser the you can on the app. The font is definitely too small.

A Glitchfest & More. Constant bugs and any lack of innovation. I speculate it used Facebook originally as a base (even though they constantly flame it). Even then, it didn’t try straying away from it to become its own thing properly. Why can’t we switch accounts effortlessly similar to Twitter? Why can’t mobile users not see who reshared their post? Why do you have to PAY for a Dark Mode feature? The log-in page on desktop looks almost like an exact copy of FB. Chats particularly group chats are buggy almost impossible to send messages it’s moving too fast. Profile pictures switch from one user to another and picture upload sizes are inconsistent. They definitely require more refinement. Now it’s clear this site is currently a haven for Google+ users such as myself. Unfortunately, it’s differences end at the bold text features. Why not add collections for organization? Or make it possible to link posts? Or once more, make it easier to switch from one account to another (just as the old site). The bold text constantly never works unless you space it first, which not many users are aware of. I may sound hypocritical when mentioning that they should draw more from G+, but i as well have no qualms with FB or Twitter. Nothing necessarily wrong with extracting their best qualities and fusing them into a promising website with its own unique flare. Inspiration is fine. Hopefully this is seen. I’m only giving it 2 stars as it does have potential to be something great.

Bravo!. I know MeWe wanted to completely differently setup than Facebook but it’s a little too different. Maybe to some it’s very simple to some but to less technology savvy it’s not as easy. Just a slight bit more user friendly and I’d give it 5 stars. I do like it for the different rules it has so far, what I need social media for isn’t banned (sales) which is a huge plus. I’m not giving 4/5 stars just for myself, it’s for the animals that the different policies represent. People and the animals that benefited from sales and rehoming on Facebook no longer have that instant result, which in some cases is life or death. Beyond that it was this great platform for people that are interested in animal breeding to get their start. Plus there are no ads!! I hope it stays that way. Overall bravo!!

Finally a Safe home for us roleplayers & writers!. Okay I love this app so much! I finally have a safe place I can write! I use this daily for writing with my friends! We are an aspiring team of screen writers and we get all the practice we need writing scenes and storylines through Roleplay! It’s an amazing app! We can use any name we want for our account so long as we don’t troll! Which we don’t! The gif support, the bold, italics and other features of this app allow us to put even more imagination into our storylines! Finally we can write without the worry that everything we love will be deleted without a warning. MeWe has become our safe haven! 💜 totally happy to have found this app and the website! I have more active plotlines thanks to the feeling of security than I ever had before! Just add a feature to give people nicknames, and to turn off the chat emotion reaction notis? (This totally spans my notifications!) And BAM it’s gonna be perfect!

It’s nice but needs a little work.. I like the app. Not deleting it at this point because I’m hoping a few changes will make it better. I joined a group and now I can’t find how to get out of it. If there is a a way to do it it’s not easy to find. That option should be clear. You don’t know much about a group until you’re in it. Should you decide it is not for you good luck getting out. Also I don’t like that it opens straight to chat. I’m into the home feed. I want to see what everybody is up to. Plus the chat looks super crowded. All the contacts are there and it’s not stream lined. But the app does have a lot great things. I love the full emoji option. It’s got a lot to offer and I’ve recommended it to friends. If it gets better I’ll right a different review.

I love the concept but fix some major flaws. I love the idea of MeWe and I’ve been enjoying it for nearly a year now. That said, it is in bad need of some improvements. 1. Group admins need more control. Anyone in the group can upload files. You need to have three admin settings for file uploads. a:Any member can upload freely. b: Any member can upload but the files must be approved by an admin. c: Only the admin can upload files. 2. The search bar only goes back a couple of months. It should show results with no time limitations. Use next page if you need to break them up for memory usage. This is a major annoyance as well. 3. There is ZERO support in the app from MeWe. No one I’ve spoken with has EVER gotten a response from you guys. You need an easy way to contact you for help and you need to promptly respond. 4. Please let us use hashtags in comments.

The way social media should be. It took me a little of trial and error to figure out how to use the platform/app, but I am very happy with it. I wish more of my friends were on it already, but I found groups that share my hobbies and interests and have found them to be very fun. I will keep posting my content and using the platform waiting for others I know to join. The only thing I had an issue with so far is one of my contacts was on MeWe and I wanted to block them. I accidentally sent them a request to connect when I was trying to figure out how to block them. But I figured out how to do what I was trying to do- I wish I could determine in advance from my contact list who I would like to block before they even join MeWe, but it seems you can only block someone after they join.

Very fun social media site, better than others out there. I love MeWe, it’s soooooo much better and safer than Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. The only thing I wish they would change is the ability to turn off notifications of people commenting after you. One day my phone had 363 red notification flags on the app because of all the people that commented after mine. It’s making me not want to interact through comments because that number was overwhelming. That’s the only thing I would change, otherwise I love it! One of my favorite things is that you can “emoji” a post. So for example, if your friend posted a picture of their ice cream sundae they got, you could “ice cream” emoji it. Love it!

Big upgrade from Facebook. No ads or click bait! That is the most amazing thing about this. I can use it to review news sites I actually want to read when I want to read it without a bunch of pop ups. Groups for everyone and the entire community is so friendly. Whether your reviewing posts or chats people keep it classy and respectful. Everyone’s view points are welcome without the constant fact checking (yes you can watch satire or any other kind of comedy without getting banned or fact checked!) clean comedy group is truly clean while more adult humor can be found it’s nice to know I don’t have to see garbage I don’t want to see. I truly control my screen time . You can voice religious beliefs without criticism and constant trolling. Love it!

Poor support and can’t even get an account. I’ve tried well over 50 times to start an account on MeWe because I have friends I want to connect to for community. I’ve tried on cellphone, laptop, desktop, across multiple browsers, on VPN, off VPN. I can’t seem to be able to sign up for a new account, whether I try to verify with a cell phone or with an email account (I’ve tried using several different email addresses to be sure it wasn’t some blockade against the email provider I chose). I tried on different days and different times and even different wi-fis. I still can’t seem to sign up or verify that I am a real person. I tried to contact support and have received no response for over two weeks. I’m extremely disappointed. I live in Nigeria, so don’t know if this is some sort of discriminatory farce against the people of this nation, but if you live in that country and have a similar country, they may be boycotting your country, even through VPN.

So grateful for an alternative. I want to delete my Facebook account but I have so many former students as friends that I am reluctant to delete it and, thus, lose my renewed connection to them. Yet, I deplore the censorship employed there. I go there infrequently, and when I do, I go to my groups and rely on my husband to scroll through the Newsfeed so as to alert me to “nice” and/or informative posts by those I care about so that I may comment if I desire. I’m new to MeWe, hearing about this social media option on Parler before Parler was taken down by the powers that be. 😡 I appreciate that there are groups existing here that resemble my Facebook groups. Being a retired US History teacher with an endorsement in World History, means that I’m naturally interested in all-things historical, especially since the “cancel culture” that reigns supreme, may, indeed, rewrite the past per their “approved” narrative. Being able to participate in WWI, Tudor, Confederate/Southern history, The American West, etc. with history majors and others who possess a genuine affection for learning about times past, is so very interesting to me. Thank you, MeWe. I sure hope you don’t get shut down by Big Tech...for I fear that you don’t have the resources to repel the assault. 😔

Love what it stands for. Really looking forward to MeWe taking the cake of social media. Slowly working it all out, I imagine it will become more user friendly as the years go on. I remember fb in it’s early years and it wasn’t as user friendly as it is now, so I see big things for MeWe in the future. Especially as things like privacy and freedom of speech are actually a thing over here whereas they are becoming extinct on FB, Insta and the like.

Still need a lot improvement. Love it when I started but started to hate it. So frustrated. Adding people is so difficult. Using the QRcode just frozen at the phone gallery. And there’s a link didn’t go into the app it’s another website which need to login. But I forgot what did I sign up with. There’s no forgot password. Quite hard to use. Kinda giving up

No audio / file icon. Downloaded the app looks good. Tried to load a post up but there’s no audio/ file icon available. I see it in a chat and can share a file to another person but not in a general post or group post. I’m using an iPhone X with latest OS.

I’m still new to MeWe. I guess it will get better and better as I get used to it. I don’t like that I can’t choose my own time line photo. The photo that was chosen for me is not suitable. And besides, it should be my choice and mine alone .🙃

KittyKat. It’s a good app, needs some work for all the glitches. Love that I can post what I want and not have to worry about bans or getting my account shut down, like facebook. Hopefully this app just gets better with time and updates.

App keeps crashing after latest update!. Have just updated to the latest version & now every time I click on a notification the app shuts down & closes! Extremely frustrating! Pleeeease fix it!

Can’t log in to my account. I love the app, but I had an account in the past, due to phone issues I was unable to update, and therefore access a lot on my apps, MeWe being one of them. Since I’ve sorted my phone problem, and updated everything, I can no longer log into my account, it basically tells me that I no longer have an account. I have tried to log on with both phone and email... Do accounts get deleted after and period of inactivity?

Why the hell would you charge for secret chat?. When other apps offer for free. You promote it as available, but not that there’s a charge...... until you go to use it..... Oh well, your loss as I’m off to another app.....

Seemed good to start with. This app seemed to be a great little alternative to the others with their crack down on freedom of expression. Sure it had little problems, but since it was just getting up and going, those were easy to over look. But with newer TOS, and a growing list of what is unacceptable, the lack of which was what drew ppl to it, one fears it will go the way of all the other social platforms that we have left.

The one thing I always hated on Facebook was the fact you’d take a bomb selfie and when you go to make it your profile pic the whole thing doesn’t fit and just looks stupid 😭 This would be amazing if you could incorporate different sizes for profile pics and square instead of circle. MeWe. So far since using MeWe compared to the other social media I like it so far as trolls are not allowed and your data is not sold to third parties and you are also not tracked like the other popular social media …and also it’s private as well..

Like a French Kiss But Down Under!. MeWe is great. Some of the options are terrific. Some however leave a bit to be desired in terms of decency. Tattoos I pass up immediately- why would you cover a beautiful female form with tattoos. They spoil the originality- like putting tattoos on the Mona Lisa. But pretty ladies au natural are great. Great app. Is there a chance we could have an option to make private posts?

Bug. My app started messing up, saying “failed to load server feedback” or whatever it was. So I deleted it and redownloaded and i enter my phone details and password CORRECTLY and its saying its incorrect, now i cant make a new acc with my phone number anymore. So idk what’s happening, was looking forward to join groups but now i can’t.

Latest update. How come since uploading the latest update I can’t now post photos on my profile?

Last update has destroyed MeWe. That last update destroyed MeWe. I had to reinstall the app because it wouldn’t load at all. It now crashes repeatedly, i can’t restore purchases, I can’t add emojis! And I’m a premium user! What have you done?

Issue. I previously made an account. Recently there was an update made & I now can’t access my account. It keeps telling my “incorrect” password when it’s not. It’s quite annoying. I’ve also tried to reset my password and never received the email to do so.

A platform to remove the restraints of manipulating media sites like zuck. The overall system is perfect in so many ways. The only two issues that I'm sure will develop to remove unwanted spam is locking rooms and encryption p2p. Also the speed of the system is fairly slow, but is stable and really great as a in front GUI to show the other social sites to shame, let alone have more freedom! Congrats guys! Get some ads out there to hook people to move to this platform to see the holy truth of hidden and removed media which people have a right to see the troubles and lies the other systems manipulation and brainwashing misguided propaganda and it's killing free speech and killing the way of normal life for 21st century people!. 5 stars. Please don't change! It's great device to enhance the significance of communication to help get a broad message of the horrid truth of a culture brainwashing media and hiding their religion by lying to others.

Update suggestions. Suggestions for update Swipe from right to left when in comments to return to original thread. Have a scroll bar along right side to see how far down in comments you are

Clunky. Its very clunky and needs a lot of work. Navigating is difficult. Rules on sharing posts is also difficult to which I don’t think people have cottoned on to yet. They’ve no idea because it’s just not simple enough. Unfortunately a lot more work will need to be done to get people to enjoy the interaction with others as much as they do or did on Facebook.

A good start. I enjoy the app and am still getting use to it. The only feature I’ve found annoying is not being able to search country specific groups or pages. It’s a real struggle trying to find Australian groups. I have to rely on someone else sending me the link which isn’t effective if I want to find new pages myself. Overall love being able to post about livestock and pets without being restricted.

Very basic. My biggest pet hate about this app is when you receive a notification that someone has emojied your comment. When you click on it rather than taking you to your comment, it takes it to the most recent comment on the post. This is annoying when there is hundreds of comments on a post and you have to scroll all the way through to find yours.

Love it. The only issue I have had is that everything I post, I have to edit because when you write a caption, it goes off screen. So frustrating

Change your server!. Your server has slot of problems, your site freezes alot, can’t scroll properly, I can’t even get into my account a lot of the times! You want people to pay for your service when it’s a free app, why would anyone pay for your using your app when it has sooo many problems? When the site does work it’s good. Sadly your tech workers needs upgrading!!!

Needs bugs fixed. Since last update it’s very hard to browse through photos to upload from albums, takes you back to main folder, messaging people is a issue aswell. Very annoying otherwise great app, have had it for a couple of years and been faultless.. get in and start fixing all these bugs and make this app what it use to be, or even better start replying to people who use your app… fix the app, struggling to message anyone

Uncluttered and Fast. I’m very happy with this app on initial impressions. Of course, I love the privacy. The app itself is uncluttered and NO ADVERTISING!!! I really hope this takes off. I’m sure features will continue to grow. My main complaint is that links are too sensitive. You don’t realise you’ve pressed something and the open.

I broke my last two phone and tried logging in to my account and it won’t let me made a new one and won’t let me log into that either doesn’t even send me an email or text says something went wrong or it’s the wrong number but it isn’t I will update my review if I can get help to log into my first account

This is the BEST social network! Get on it!. I got the app as my favourite group moved from Facebook. It was a great migration! I discovered you can react with ANY emoji, make a comment on EVERY comment , the GIF’s are AMAZING! Easy to use as well! Jason ( what a guy right) has been fabulous with the feedback that Queen Amy (the page owner and an absolute legend) and it seems everyday is a better experience with MeWe for all of us! If you don’t have it yet- Get MeWe! Now!

Recently Joined. I really appreciate this alternative to fb and the privacy it offers. I’m still trying to navigate the network but not many friends have ‘crossed over’. The only thing I don’t like is that it seems to be only compatible with iPhone (I could be wrong). I’d like to distance myself from Apple as I don’t believe in their political ideals.

Better than Facebook. I’m glad to see the numbers picking up with this App. Much better than Facebook once you get the hang of it.

Chat requests filters. It would be nice to have the ability to filter chats so you can find direct messages easier rather than scrolling through (for me) 100’s of chats from groups

MeWe is great, no censorship at all. Love it and it’s better than FB in that there’s no censorship. A few suggestions I’d make it to allow newsfeed to pop up like in FB, to create albums for photos so family and friends can see it, to have a check in so others can get jealous of where you are 😆 The news feed is what I miss the most, to see news, to read patriots posts etc.

I do like the app. However it started shutting down every time I opened it this week so I deleted it and reinstalled it now I’m locked out I have requested over 3 times to have a link sent to my phone and tried my email to no avail, I’m locked out still. #help

Great app!. I have had nothing but praise for this app and have recommended it to all my friends! Only one problem has arising! I can no longer open the app and would like some help but don’t know how to get it or even access it!

Great App with room for improvement. I’ve been on MeWe for a few weeks now and after changing a lot of setting within the app it’s working smoothly. Would be great to be able to search for people or groups by location👍🏽 also it’s hard to paste writing when coping from another site. The paste button won’t show up easily. Also when searching through contacts in a group, if you add a new contact, it takes you up to the start of the list instead of where you were up to in the list. Can’t wait til fb flops and MeWe becomes the new go to social media app 👌🏽💯❤️ hope you’re platform is ready for the massive influx to come...

Photos. Better than it’s competitors, but I find the uploading of photos broken and has been for more than 6 months after reporting it. Be nice to have a help section and fault section.

As a social media manager , I appreciate all of time and effort Jason has put into making this app and I will be spreading the word in my art community As well I will tell all the artists I know to get on this ! You have done so much for us already and we really appreciate you working with us and letting us express ourselves !

App update. Why am I forced to go premium after update?

Fix the bugs for iOS please.. Any time there’s an update, the app breaks for iOS users. Last time it took THREE WEEKS for it to stop bugging out. This time chats won’t load. You guys need to figure out how to prevent it from breaking for iOS users every time.

Review. Very hard to navigate. It feels like a modern day 2001 chatroom. But with colour pictures.

Best social media!. I love it. No shadow banning and no advertising - awesome!! I really love the different stickers and the ability to use italics and bolt text when creating a post!!

Can’t get verified. I enter the confirmation code sent by sms and it won’t verify me. Keeps on in a loop. Wat a load of crap.

Video. Having issues with the newest version. Videos on profiles and timelines will not play. Had no issues prior to new version.

Too many scammers. Too many scammers. Every second there is something.

Not trustworthy. It gave me the option to upload my contacts to make it easier to invite friends. It specifically guaranteed that the app would not contact my friends without my permission. The first thing it proceeded to do was to send invites to all my contacts who are on MeWe. Without asking me. Without my permission. Worst of all: I couldn’t undo the invites. There were contacts I don’t want to connect with on MeWe. But I can’t undo the invite. Bad, bad, bad.

Crashes on iPhone all the time. With the newest update the app crashes all the time when trying to edit or upload pictures. Pictures often show up as black when using in app edit feature.

Slow / Glitchy / Shut Downs. Though this app was good in its early days it’s gone WAAAY down hill. The app often shuts down at random. It glitches comments and sometimes never posts your comments. All these issues don’t even start with the paid premiums. And even the premiums don’t help at all with the issues. Just adds to them. 2/10 would only recommend if you don’t have a computer. Computer has less issues than app. 10/10 recommend just use your computer for this app. (Also lots of old perverts that post porn. And send unsolicited images.)

Wish I could give 0 stars. This app is terrible. There’s an individual leaking my nudes all over this app and they don’t respond to multiple reports that I’m making. I’m traumatized and I’m shocked that an app like this doesn’t respond to copyright infringements. Disgusting

Videos won’t play in app. This app worked great for the past year up until about a week ago when clicking on videos in post just stopped working on my iPhone. I’ve tried rebooting the device, removing and reinstalling the app and all possible setting to restore the function of being able to play the posted video… but nothing has worked. There is also no support links within the app or o their website to report this to. Very disappointing

Great site. Found out about MeWe through Huckabee through YouTube Fox Network. Governor Huckabee was interviewing the founder of MeWe, and since have told some friends to join. Zuckerberg can’t control outside influences including the Democratic government, time to move on, and be with an APP, that doesn’t give away my information to other parties I have no interest to be with!

Hard. I find MEWE hard to follow. Can you just have a page all your own with only people you choose to see it. Can you make posts for only your friends? Can you have photo albums to share? Good social media alternative, awesome privacy practices. I like MeWe. There’s a bit of a learning curve, but once you learn it, it’s fun. And it’s the only social media platform I can find that fully and completely respects your privacy and ownership of your posts and info.

Continuously crashes. App was fine before update. New update installed, and now I can’t open the app. It just crashes back to my home page. It was a good app, but now it needs a fix.

Good site but I wish more local businesses would get on. I switched over from Facebook to MeWe, and I love not seeing all the drama, and conservatives being silenced. It is great to be on a platform that recognizes free speech. I do however wish there was more going on. It is so quiet. None of my contacts ever post anything, most of the groups are quiet, and there are no local businesses on it. I have found a few good groups though, and I manage my homeschool group on it. I also really wish there was an option to save a photo that you see from another group (like a quote for example) like there was on Facebook, and I wish I could do live videos on there. It still beats all the craziness on Facebook though.

Social media. So this app is good in the thought that it doesn’t limit you as much as Facebook. It’s a cool and good app nothing ever freezes and my phone doesn’t have any issues with it. Iphone7plus But the only thing that’s annoying is the chat groups although i love talking inthem if you step away from it for more then 5min your phone will be filled with over 60notifications. Each group has notifications and each group has a message bored. So I’m in about 13 groups so far and some chats are just to much. So i had to silence all notifications from the app. Which in turns makes me use the app less.

Should’ve got it sooner!!. This is an amazing platform and so easy to use. I only see what I want on my feed and no annoying suggestions either. I have a page for my company and made that in only a few minutes. I found groups that are of interest to me all on my own. You can do that too! Just search “Alaska” and there they are groups about Alaska so you can enjoy the pictures. Aviation, that is on there too! For real even if you keep the other platforms I think you are missing out on one that is actually made with us in mind if you don’t have MeWe. Want a great idea, thank you MeWe!!

How did it access my photos?. I downloaded this app as a trial, saw an immediate Apple pop-up asking to allow Notifications, but was not further asked by standard Apple pop-ups if I wanted to allow it to access to my photos- and then I found it had full access! When I went to MeWe’s individual app settings, the sliders for camera, microphone, and photos access were not even there... very weird, one should ALWAYS be able to control an app’s access to those things. I don’t know how Apple let this slip, but this app was all up in my private stuff with no requested permissions given, and of course Background App Refresh enabled, as well... so concerning! Since this is very non-standard behavior, this may even be a glitch in the app, but it represents such a huge security hole I had no choice but to delete the app. Sorry, no thanks!

Mewe happy. I love me wee because essentially it’s free unless you wanna donate to it by different things like emoji packs stickers the video and audio chat function become a premium member or donate wants to monthly voluntarily I love that they don’t censor you like Facebook with your post with your comments pictures gifts and they’re very excepting of role players they don’t take your account like Facebook does and it holds the same functions as Facebook but to me is much easier to use they don’t show as they don’t share your information it’s brilliant and I would rather be there than Facebook

Techie I’m not!. I’m far from being computer friendlyI just got on Facebook last March 2020 and I was just recently asked to join MeWe by a friend The ability at least that I have to move around the site is not very good. I’m going to try to have someone show me on my phone how to navigate it. I’m not a fan of tutorials I really need to be shown stuff on my phone like how to and how to get back Because when I do something in a tutorial it seems that I always hit some wrong button and can’t get back. Great platform. I have been using MeWe for months now and I have been using it more than I do Facebook recently. I am slowly trying to get members from my Facebook group to move on over to MeWe and join the group on there. I used to likeFacebook more than any other platform but within the last year or more Facebook has become stubborn about a lot of things that are posted especially animal wise. I created a group on MeWe as a backup Incase the group on Facebook gets removed because of it being a poultry discussion group.

Gotta Fix the Bugs. In Sept 2019MeWe introduced a bug that reduces functionality and user experience. Apparently when a user deletes a Group from MeWe it is not completely deleted and remnants of data remain in users accounts. This causes a “red bubble flag” to show up for users which cannot be cleared. MeWe has been notified of the problem and responded with typical industry standard form letters acknowledging receipt. As a user with some experience in UI/UX I know that bugs take time to find and correct. But in the interim user experience suffers. MeWe is clearly popular and needs to ramp up staff and technology to make it the platform of choice for the community. Hope things get fixed soon.

It’s a good social media with great people, but there are some bugs that could be fixed.. I really enjoy this app, really. It’s a very wonderful app with wonderful people, and it’s super great. But it’s buggier than my brother’s bug collection. So, first off, I feel the first thing that should be fixed is whenever I try to post, some of the text doesn’t show, which is odd to me. I don’t know why. Second, sometimes it crashes the moment I open the home feed page, which is odd. Those are the major two, though. I’d love it if they could fix those two bugs. Then I’d change my review to five stars

Glitches. For an established medium, the problems of stalling and getting kicked out is bothersome. It is a nice site but after being on for only a little more than a year and still seeing the same problems is not understandable. I am far from any type of technical person or the complexities that come with it. Hopefully you can find the problems and deal with them. Also the charges for voice and video seem to be a bit early since you have yet to fix these other issues. I have yet to use the, but it seems that your customers seem a bit unsatisfied. Thank you for being out there and the service thus far. It is a nice sites be on and collect new friends.

Disappointed and concerned. After considering to join a few groups I was concerned about many group’s insistence that Members not engaged in political dialog. Concerning one group, All things Monty Python, MeWe has been touted as a free speech platform but I’m trying to reconcile cognitive dissonance that arrived when I looked at a Monty Python group and it said if I wanted to join that I had to stay from any political reference but I’m struggling to figure out how that’s possible. I know the difference between satire and rancor and believe me I am trying to eschew the later for the former but what is satire without political commentary and what rubric should be constructed to determine how far Zuckerbergesqie MeWe groups will be allowed to go In Censorship? You can warn those who use insulting or harsh pejoratives or curse at others with which they disagree but blocking from groups those that simply relate current or historical political events in comments is wrong. If one will be banned from a group about a satirical comedy troupe that is quite often about political commentary for commenting on political significance of that satire, then I scratch my head and say, nice try , but no thanks!

Needs some work. The app may be growing but it needs some work. For one, requiring dark mode to be purchased is a clear money grab when every other app out there is making it part and parcel to its design. Removing the cost associated with the dark theme would go along way to gaining support. Just because one can charge for it doesn’t mean one should charge for it. Also, it would be great if we could disable comments on a “per post” basis. Sometimes we post something and we don’t want comments on that particular post. One more thing: you have no clear way of contacting y’all except through the app stores. That needs to be fixed.

Free????. In some places this app says it is always free however when I decided to join, after hearing about it, I was told it is free for the first month then there would be a monthly fee, seriously?! Also, I find this platform quite difficult to understand, it is not eh easiest to move from one place to another, Mark W’s face is always first and largest on the home page, finding and setting up preferences is tedious. I joined two groups which is probably the only good thing about it and still the running banter on these pages is of no importance or relevance. I will not be charge for a ‘Free’ site. Unless one can bring all their friend to this app it has no purpose. Keep working on this maybe one day it will function fluidly.

Who’s in control here? Not me!. Disappointing, feels like betaware. If I got this right, your newly created group is invisible unless you have five friends. So when I looked for a local group - artists in my area - nothing there. Or maybe you can pay to list?... result: not enough groups, not enough content, not enough connections. MeWe adds connections from my contacts, but I can’t edit the list on my iPad? It picked everything from my contacts and listed them, even when they’re businesses, not friends. I don’t know how you get friends, but it does not seem spontaneous. So getting those critical five? Unlikely. Chats attack from all directions, seems like I can’t pick what I think is most important and mute the rest. This thing is chaos with no way to prioritize, group or rank all that noise. Worse, out of everyone I know, not one person is on MeWe! They seem to want money for MeWe to work, but it doesn’t do what I want, and hasn’t shown it can. Need to show value first, get paid second. Still looking for the ultimate social networking app, the one that really is about its users.

I love it, but.... To start off, I love this app a lot! It’s my go to for roleplaying and talking to my friends! The only problem I have with it is when it has its moments when it won’t let me post. The tiger thing is that I prefer to have gifs as my profile pictures, but it won’t do it on the app and now it’s not letting me set a gif as a profile pic or cover photo on the website either. I was wondering if that could be part of the next update maybe? Have it to where users can set their profile pics and covers as gifs while in the app. Some of my friends that use this app have also had that same problem. Other than that, I give it 5 stars!

Differences in MeWe vs. Facebook. I’m new to MeWe. I haven’t had a whole lot of experience with it yet, but couple things I’d like to point out that are suggestions to improve your app. First, make it easier to find a person if they are in your system. In other words anyone should be able to put my first and last name in a find me right away. I’ve been told that friends are here on this site, but I can’t locate them using their first and last name. Second, I see no place on your site to upgrade my profile to include birthdates. I don’t even see a place to modify my profile other than the picture, or even how my profile appears to others. Your site is a bit more user friendly than Parler, but still not that great. How do I communicate with someone in a private text to find out who they are, when they are trying to friend me. Example: someone tried to friend me the other day. Because this person was operating under a handle, I could identify who they were. I did not connect because of this handicap.

Enjoy much but beware.. This app has any type of pictures, connections, and chats that you may want to look at or follow. People who you can chat with or not if you choose not to. Also many things that will tempt you to look at that you may not want to. With people and pictures you are able to get just about anything, so be careful of the pornography connected within peoples accounts or profile pages. Most groups don’t allow it but a few do. So I wouldn’t recommend it for any minors, to easily to find and to connect with.

Encryption not free = Dealbreaker. Having a subscription model for encryption is a dealbreaker for me. If a company is going to talk big about privacy being a right, then it should walk the walk too. Actions>Words To be fair, I wouldn’t mind this if it were a reasonable one-time fee, but it seems like every app developer wants to keep their hands in your pockets. 😑 Seriously, I would probably have tipped a larger amount than the annual cost for encryption, but the principles really matter here. If privacy is a right and encryption is one of the most important parts of ensuring privacy, why put it behind a subscription paywall? 🤷🏽‍♀️ Frankly, I’m not buying the commitment based on this alone. Pro Tip: Use Signal for real secure and free messaging. That’s a true commitment to privacy and a sorely needed hero in the age of Facebook, Twitter, and their slimy ilk.

Like MeWe but App needs work. So I support MeWe and the ideas of it all, free speech, privacy, limited censorship, no phony fake news checkers. However the app and platform needs work. Can’t post content from other apps to MeWe, (like news articles, bible verses, pics from other apps, etc). Layout of groups and chat can be confusing, feed doesn’t work right, if you select ALL you will be bogged down by that 1 or 2 groups which will have you read every post that was made on there for like 3 days before you can read the 1 friend/contact post from 30 minutes ago. Needs refresh, new ad campaign, more content, more users. I left FB 6 months ago and not looking back.

Groups need a little work. I love most of this app. However when you join a group you have to decide if you want this group to appear in your newsfeed. After being in the group you may decide no I don’t want that in my newsfeed because I don’t want to see the content when I am scrolling only when I go to the group page. Currently there seems to be no way to not change the initial setting. You can change it for individual people but not groups. This needs to be added in the next update. Otherwise I enjoy using this app.

Saving Social Media for Me. I love using MeWe because it’s not trying to hold my attention. It’s not funded by targeted advertising, and it has no incentive to addict me. It’s not participating in the attention economy wars. I am able to filter my newsfeed to only show my friends, which is SO great. With Facebook I would go there looking to see what my friends are up to, but instead I’d find myself reading articles, browsing new pages, and doing all sorts of things other than checking in on my friends. In contrast, with MeWe I go to check on my friends, I do just that, and I’m done! MeWe also has great groups and pages as well, and since I can filter my feed to only show groups or pages I can choose when to enter a “browsing” mode and when to shut all of that noise out and focus on my personal connections. One of the most fun features is being able to react to posts with any emoji! I’m a huge fan, and I look forward to getting more and more of my friends on the platform.

It’s way better than Facebook. I love to be able to have the freedom to choose what articles and news sites I listen too. As well as be able to choose what I want to see. It’s a bit harder to get used to since I’ve used Facebook since it’s been a thing, but once you get the hang of it, it’s going to be a great platform. It also can only get better with future updates and such. The only thing I don’t really like, is if you own multiple pages on Facebook they were free, on here you have to purchase each page.

Let’s keep the trolls under control.. MEWE isn’t a bad social group, it’s okay. But sometimes it’s not always easy to post pictures or videos… Some of the different groups are cool too, I think it’s good to have open discussion on many different subjects, Okay I’m interested in Cosplay and I’ve dressed up as both Wonder Woman and Superman. mini give in different emojis, sometimes they’re a nice one similar OK and others if you have been meaning been a few trolls two can be hateful as well. Excellent!. I was looking for a social networking website with a complimentary app that allowed me the privacy that I deserve without compromising the platform that I’m accustomed to using. I found it in MeWe. It is easier to use than Facebook. MeWe does not track me across the internet. The company does not sell my information. MeWe does not spy on its users. I decide what I see, listen to, and read not a censor or algorithm. The platform is not heavily populated yet so it’s comfortable. It is growing. Groups are different than those on Facebook and you have greater control. Simply put... if you like freedom, you’ll like MeWe. Cheers

Great alternative social media. App looks great on an iPhone. Wish it looked better on an iPad in landscape mode. Can get kinda buggy at times. Like seems crash a lot especially when I’m typing a post. Wish they’d incorporate Memojis (like Viber has). All in all, the site itself is a great alternative to the other social media sites. Best part is the chat rooms each group has. Also the ability to create group chats that are private. Video too (for a fee). Met a lot of cool people on here. Oh yeah, No Ads and they don’t sell your data.

I wish it was better so more people would use it. I switched to MeWe because I simply think FB has too much power and abuses it. I was excited when an alternative gained a bit of traction. Unfortunately, while I like MeWe’s privacy promise, I don’t like it’s cheap feel and look. And quite frankly, I like advertisements. Not cheap crap from China, but nice aesthetic ads that are fun to browse. I’d rather see ads than be asked to pay for the app. A few friends tried out mewe and didn’t come back. It looks cheap, it wants you to pay for membership, etc. MeWe, I think you are “doing it wrong”. You are missing an opportunity while you are in the spotlight. Try letting companies advertise. Let us opt out of ads. Do something to compete more effectively.

Needs some work. Real quick I really do like the app. However the search for friends and other connections isn’t the greatest. The phone app needs some development for certain. This is much better as an online platform versus phone app. Maybe with so many people in limbo between this and Facebook, it isn’t able to hold a strong lead. To be honest I fear this app will fail, only because many people are not interested in switching over from Facebook. I would like to see this app become stronger and more popular, and I think for groups this is definitely a great place to be. But, the need for this platform is not effecting enough people. Will I be staying? Yes Will I keep trying to support? Yes

Way too many bugs. I first signed up for MeWe back in 10/18 when Google Plus announced they’d be shutting down. Tried it for 2 months and was so frustrated with the app that I closed my account. Several people reached out to me back on Google Plus saying I should try it again so I created another account. It’s been a few months and the amount of error messages that I get while using the app is unbelievable. In fact I was just scrolling through my feed and got an emoji limit error. I wasn’t even trying to emoji a post. I’m just a matter of minutes I just got a minimum of 10 error messages. That’s just crazy. I’ve sent feedback several times and I’m not even getting responses now. If you use social media primarily through an app like I do then this is not the platform for you.

What a great App.. I left Facebook because of all The censorship against Republicans and Reagan conservative. I have found that MeWe is where I should have been. You can control what you want to see on your news feed. People needs to get away from Facebook Twitter and Google. They monitor everything you do. And sell your information. All my friends has moved over to Mewe and instead of using Google use DuckDuckGo for your browser. And to substitute Twitter use Rumble app. Also get away from Gmail that is part of Google. Allow non-political advertising.. MeWe will never make the grade without allowing the market place in. A free platform should allow advertising but not compromise its standards by allowing ANY work companies. We all know WOKISM is just a nice word to cover for a very evil communist agenda. America must use every resource to oust the Socialist Race Ideologs from ever corner of our government, education, and institutions . They have declared war on America. So let pro American companies onto this site. For they too have been banned from the Socialist Media Mono-politic Internet. We the free must rally behind loyal American companies and cut all funding of the Traitorous Communist allied Democrat Party

Nice alternative!. It takes a while to get used to all of the different settings and how to turn things off if you don’t want a massive amount of notifications. It would be nice though if mewe was able to create a pop-up for chats so that we know the difference between a notification pop-up versus a chat message box. Since you don’t have a separate me we chat like the other social networks do. Especially when your phone or device is on silent . However I do love the aesthetic part of MeWe has more. Potential for growth and additions. Happy to be with MeWe, takes time to develop connections.

MeWe. Needs improvement. You can't give emojis without paying for them. The single thread in chat rooms doesn't work well. If another person wants to start a different conversation in a group it can be very confusing to figure what post belongs to what conversation. The uncensored private chats/groups do allow more freedom of speech but again if there is more than one conversation in a group it can be very confusing. Having the ability to post your reply in INDIVIDUAL conversations in a group would be much more practical than having to guess if someone is referring to a conversation and possibly getting upset because you took someone to be addressing YOUR conversation that wasn't. Overall a 3 out of 5. A good start but MUCH work to do.

Love this app. We absolutely love this app, the only reason it gets only 4 stars is we would love to be able to emoji/like individual posts say like you can on FB messenger. Because the chat can get to rolling and everyone is talking and having a great time and by the time you have a chance to type an LOL etc and hit send 5 people have said something and then you need to tag the person to say your LOL etc so everyone knows who or what your talking about. So other than that this is a fantastic app and love that it isn’t tiring you down and restricting you let alone trying to take all your information and privacy away! Thank you for that!

Good, but NOT a Facebook killer. First, let me say I have been using MeWe every day for a couple of years now. Its a good social media app. You won’t find anybody you know on it (because they’re all still on Facebook) - but you WILL quickly develop new connections. MeWe’s problem is that they’re standing still as the rest of the world expects more and more features. Messenger. Marketplace. Allowing deep links from outside. Connecting your online business to your social media. These things (and more) are all things you can do with Facebook that you can’t with MeWe. And that the MeWe development team wasn’t already working on these things 3 years ago tells you what you need to know about MeWe’s future: It was way behind 2 years ago when I joined. It’s a downright dinosaur by today’s standards. It’s a useful platform. But it’s doubtful it can EVER compete with Facebook. Which means you’ll have to always be satisfied with the new friends you make on MeWe - because your old friends are never making the switch away from Facebook.

I Was Hoping for the Best, but it Needs More ... a Lot More. Given Facebook’s privacy issues and their commitment to propagating political falsehoods, I was really hoping MeWe would provide a suitable replacement. I have run into multiple disappointments, only one of which is not completely their problem: almost no one really wants to use it enough to displace Facebook. The iOS app is weak and amateurish, and occasionally buggy. It keeps telling me I need to update to the latest release, even though I am on the release; there is no obvious way to check which release I am on, short of deleting it and reloading — it’s their problem. Navigating is awkward. There are some limited FAQs, but no documentation. Just what is a “page,” anyway? If I start to create a page, it wants a modest subscription, but there is no explanation as what I would be getting. The web interface visually looks better, but suffers from the same poor navigation. In many ways MeWe seems more like a substitute for internal corporate versions of Slack and Twitter. If there is any hidden power, it is truly hidden by its lack of documentation and best practices. It’s sad: I love their basic premise, but if no one wants to use it, it’s obviously not a replacement for Facebook.

Underwhelming. The app works fine, and it’s nice not having an algorithm run everything. No ads is great. The whole MeWe experience is close to boring as people don’t seem to interact much. There is also nothing, besides the good privacy enhancements, that make the content and user experience very engaging or different or more exciting than Facebook. Some of this is due to MeWe segregating “chat” from a time line for each group. You have to keep track of two places at once which is dumb. For a photography group this means pictures can be posted in both places under the same subject umbrella. This slices the interaction pie even thinner and there ain’t much there to begin with. I’ll give MeWe another two weeks.

What a social network should be . . .. MeWe May have a cutesy name but it is an impressive network. At first look you find it quite simplistic, mainly because the pages aren’t covered with advertisements, apps and other distractions. On a mobile device you will see your timeline with icons across the bottom of the screen to take you Groups, Chats, Notifications and Settings. Groups include events, photos and albums, and files. In addition to one-on-one and group text chats you can also have secret chats as well as voice and video calls. Quite impressive.

MeWe and me!. I never thought I would find another site like G+ !! It was a sad situation knowing we had to leave our comfortable channels and friends soon! It took me almost 2 months to make my big decision. But I did it! I chose MEWE! It is still hard to know everything, but it is the new friends I’m making that is comforting! The new groups I love ! The interaction is better! It’s just friendlier in my opinion. Need help or make a suggestion? The MeWe staff are here and make it better with a quick answer or solution by email! I cannot ask for anything more! It’s all here and it surpasses GOOGLE + Patricia

There’s room for improvement. Great alternative to Facebook. I like that there’s a Privacy Bill of Rights - that I own my data and content. I like that I’m not being targeted or inundated with ads. I feel a little more secure using this app than I do on FB however, I think it could use a few tweaks. Uploading photos to stories is pretty SLOW. When posting to stories, I can’t adjust the orientation of text (e.g. I cant adjust the text from portrait to landscape). When posting my own videos to stories, it shrinks the video and a green screen appears behind it. I’m still exploring what the app can do but is there any news of improvements or upgrades to the app?

Wasn’t impressed & a virus came through, too!. I have a virus protection on my phone & 3 hits from the app came through for viruses from this app. I use my iphone for too many things to risk a virus. Also, another friend I have had the same issue viruses coming across their protection. He’s more of a computer geek & knows more than I do. He had to reset my entire phone. That isn’t a good thing. Now the new iPhone update won’t let me update on cellular like it usually does. (I don’t have WiFi.) Also, from what I saw it was really old school. Not what I am used to with FB & I didn’t like that to get the full features you had to pay for a subscription. I pay for enough subscriptions & that is a turn off for me. I would rather deal with ads on FB than pay another subscription. (And, honestly some ads are how I learn about some pretty cool products.)

Privacy and Only what I want. The server has room for improvement but the base idea of never manipulating the content we see and not collecting data on users is great. Otherwise it’s pretty similar to a particular big social media platform and the people behind MeWe have the credentials to make this into what it needs to be with support and time. I’d like to see the photo selection not jump to the top if you open one of the photos accidentally and pages need to have a better interface for editing as well as adding a place for an “about.” Every new platform needs support to grow and that’s going to come from those of us that are tired of the other option.

People. I love MeWe, but I am having difficulty bringing people here from FB. I go live on FB and here I use Zoom. While having Zoom is nice, live is the best option. I think I can get my viewers here if live was a feature. People are so wrapped up on FB, but I see more people ready to leave. When will MeWe have live if everyone? I’m also on Truth Social and it doesn’t have the features MeWe offers at this time. It’s just another angry Twitter. I enjoy the content on MeWe and the group I’m an admin of has a few of my clients, but not all. If I could go live I would completely cancel my FB. I think I can migrate my loyal fans.

New to MeWe. To be honest I love what it stands for Freedom of Speech! 🇺🇸 Coming from FACISTBOOK platform it’s a real drag, not ease of use, you expect to see a similar platform. Big drawback is friends with are reluctant to join the Free Speech movement (gosh did I actually say that?!!). What I would like to see is a blend of friends posts with public posts so you can broaden horizons. Linking text from other sources needs to pop up as front page image that you ca click into story, not some thread that people are reluctant to open. I know it takes a lot of talent + money to refine a potentially great social media platform. I cannot with to see all the changes! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Greatness. Does the app have a few flaws .. yea but the advantages of this app far out weight the flaws. I don't know what they are talking about paying for emojis .. I have never paid and there are a politheria of them. Like the fact that we can control who is and can join the chat. It is fast sometimes trying to keep up with the string but is much better than having to go back and fourth to other post to see that conversation. The selection of gifs are fun and in most cases easy to find one that fits. I could go on all day about how well I like this app. Highly recommend it. Ettup

The user interface needs some work. I’m still somewhat frustrated with the user interface which I think needs some work. I need to be able to edit everything, from album names, to photos and their captions or my comments. I also don’t know if my contacts can see each other. It’s going to take some time to transition from Facebook, a social platform I’ve used for about 13 years. I have over 500 friends to convince to leave Facebook and the functionality of MeWe needs to be as user friendly and intuitive as possible to keep them here. I hope these improvements can be made as soon as possible, as I want to be finished with Facebook ASAP.

A Good Start. I downloaded this due to the pending death of Google +. It seems like it could be a good solution for those stranded by the loss of the platform, but it has some annoying issues. Photo previews from linked sites are horribly cropped, please devs, give us larger previews with more space. Some previews just show up blank. It is hard to share stuff on MeWe with other sites, this needs to be fixed. MeWe also does not seem to have support from sites like WordPress so linking from such sites is a real pain. I hope in the next few months the devs can really up their game on this one, as it does need some serious work to fill the shoes of Google+ for the ease and flexibility of posting. This is a good start however.

Love MeWe. After getting off of the other major Social media app. For obvious reasons I joined MeWe. I takes a little while to get familiar with the flow of things but over time I really grew to like it. As of lately I’ve been having issues with the feed jumping around after I click on an article and it would be nice to have the option to delete / edit the groups that you have joined. I wish that more of my friends from the other app. would join but other than those issues this platform is awesome!
