Absolutely worth $3. I’ve recommended this app to so many people. Absolutely love it

Manual can be better, has it's bugs.... Love the fact that iOS 8 now has the ability to adjust exposure, and furthermore allowing 3rd party apps like, Manual to exploit that feature. Manual is a good start, but there are a few things that I've come across that I'm hoping will be addressed. Manual slider adjustment for ISO/Shutter needs some sort of customization. It seems impossible to adjust either of those settings to anything "standard". Maybe I'm spoiled by my DSLR, but it would be nice to have an on/off feature in which it allows "Full-Stops", possibly "1/3 Stops" for manual slider adjustments in both ISO and Shutter Speed. When making manual adjustment to ISO and/or Shutter Speed, I wish you can still use Auto Focus by tapping the screen without having the manual adjustment made prior, resorting everything back to auto. With this last update that introduced a histogram, when using it in either portrait or landscape, and then turning off when not, it does not disappear. Also, if I use the histogram in landscape and try turning it off, not only does it not disappear, but when turning it back on, it seems ad though it effects the gyroscope, making the orientation confused, horizontally and vertically. I want to enjoy this app more, but the features and issue I've outlined make it more clunky than anything. Hoping future updates will address the issue, and maybe implement some of the thoughts I've mentioned.

Vfx. I’m not a photographer, I use this for motion tracking bc it lets me adjust shutter speed and has done everything that I’ve needed it to do

Love this app with one caveat.... If you will implement the function to default to my frame rate and resolution of choice on video, I will give you 5 stars.

Simple and yet powerful. Probably the best camera app. It's so easy to use. You have control over focus, speed, and and ISO. I wish it had the option to save TIFF files.

Very well done!. I wish you can lock some of the controls such as shutter speed ect when filming a vid. When you look back to review some of the footage you just took, then go back to record further, the settings all go back to Auto by its self. I wish the settings would stay how I left it.

Maybe Change the Name?. This app doesn't get the respect it deserves because there is another camera app called Manual, and if you look up "Manual Camera Apps" it hardly ever shows up. Maybe it needs a new name, like KendiKam Pro, to help it get found and reviewed. Because it's an amazing app! It's worth it just for the ability to tap the screen to take a picture.

Good Update ... Still lacking. Has all functions you can get (note: you can't get aperture for any apps) They removed the speed preview which I like however an exposure meter would be fantastic or even a smaller image that does show speed preview (like a FaceTime cam) would help greatly

Better than the Manual app!. I bought Manual first, excited by the options with ios8. This is better as it controls more options and does it with video as well. I've had a freeze or two but I'm sure it will be fixed with future updates.

100% worth the money. I generally don't purchase apps and simply use free ones, but it was driving me crazy not being able to set the white balance for Etsy pictures, since the iPhone camera runs a little cool or overcompensates for warm or cool colored items. This app is pretty amazing overall, and lets you adjust every setting you ever wanted. Just a couple things need to be tweaked: 1) The lock for settings is incredibly hard to use and not at all intuitive (I had to google, and I got it to work for a little while the other day and can't manage tonight.) Why not just an easy to press lock button? 2) I'd like to be able to manually enter a number for the WB. It's difficult to adjust it precisely with finger scrolling. 3) EV tends to go gradually for about 3/4 of a stop and then it seems to jump way too far in that direction. Doesn't seem to be quite calibrated exactly. The iOS8 native brightness adjustment is much easier to get at just the right spot. Nitpicking aside, I seriously love this app. I love being able to lock in the most macroest focus, and the flash adjustment that stays on and lets you adjust it BEFORE taking the picture is genius. <3 <3 <3 overall

It exists.... I didn't think it was possible to achieve true movie-type camera video focus on an iPad. But alas, this app has done it.

Do not use for video. I tried to use this app to record a short video, and it seemed to lose a bunch of my longer clips. I just tried it again to test it out and if I record a longer video, when I hit stop, the spinner shows, but the clip does not appear in my camera roll. This app might be fine for still photos, but for video, stay away.

A must have app. So nice to be able to control the camera and not be at the mercy of constantly changing auto settings. Anyone trying to take a descent shot must have this app. Something Apple should have included but didn't.

Best manual cam app for video so far. I've tried and purchased quite many apps with manual camera controls, looking for one that allows settings for anything iOS 8 and iPhone 6 have to offer. This one does! Not only can you choose all the different video modes in-app (1080p/60f, 720p/240f etc), you can set shutter speed, focus and ISO manually. If detailed slow-mo is your thing (without motion blur), this is the app you need. It is now my go-to app for these tasks. RECOMMMEND!

Update. How about you update this app for iOS 13 + new devices. I didn’t pay for this just for you to drop support.

So far, I'm impressed!. After loving Camera+ for years I think this may be a great upgrade. A couple of things are potentially deal breakers. 1) switching between video modes needs to be quicker. I'm on a 6s and tapping through doesn't work well. Need a video quick? Good luck. 2) The audio and histogram graphics need some love. They're not as good looking or unobtrusive as they should/could be. 3) maybe a onboarding tutorial that educates and lesser known features, e.g., ISO v EV v WB. Great app! I look forward to learning it better!

Nice control but incomplete. This app gives you some manual control, it is by no means fully functional. They were issues using a blutooth shutter release. Pressing the Bluetooth remote shutter release causes the volume to turn up. Also with the app running or off it has interfered with the keyboard coming up to type in anything. this makes this program a wasted 2$. Like I said not really functional and any usable manner

Very nice, but sometimes less is more. I prefer a pro camera without the gimmicks, so I was kind of disappointed to see that it had editing filters.. Please don't going ruining a good thing by adding more editing features this app is fine just the way it is

Lacking basic photography concepts.. Just a little tip...Daylight is higher on the Kelvin scale around (5600k), and tungsten is more around (3200k) the app has the symbols flip flopped. Warmer in color doesn’t mean a higher number on the Kelvin scale. I feel if you’re making a photography app this should be common knowledge. The histogram is pretty wonky. I’m fairly sure this is just a meter for how light or dark the frame is. A real histogram should be showing the underexposed and over exposed areas. Rather than just averaging it out on a bar graph. Can I get a refund?

Rack focus. I needed to be able to do rack focus during video recording, and this app does it beautifully. Even better, it doesn't compress the video, and allows you to select the resolution (up to 4K!) and fps, then saves it right to your camera roll. It also lets you manually adjust a million other settings, which I'm looking forward to utilizing. But the manual focus adjusting during video recording is what really made it worth the $2.99 for me. Very easy to use, very tempting to use all the time!

It can't do time exposures!. I liked what I saw until I realized that I could only take a max of 1/3 second shutter speed. I need to do nighttime exposures, so 1/3 of a second is far too short. Camera+ can do 30s exposures, so I know it's possible.

Love this app. I use this app to shoot in RAW and then import onto Lr Mobile perfect combo.

Don’t look no farther!. It’s here and the only one needed!!!!!

Only half second exposure?. I like being able to adjust the ISO settings with this app but it's frustrating to only be able to use up to a half second shutter speed. I can't think of many scenarios where I'd be using 1800+ ISO and a half second shutter, please add increased exposure or even a bulb option.

Loved the original. Can not get this version to work at all. 😕. The title says it all. Once downloaded it looks normal but no image is created.

Suggestions. Overall very nice app. Here's a few suggestions to improve it -- 1. needs access to HDR setting (On, Off, Auto) just like the built-in camera app has 2. access to video rez/frame rate from within the app is nice, but it's a pain to have to cycle thru them all to get to what you want. Would be real nice if a click provided a drop-down list of all supported and then with a tap you could make your choice 3. must replace the ugly app icon (gray with a white camera outline), PLEASE!

Update needed for video glitches. I honestly love this app minus a few video glitches. Today while recording an event the app crashed around 40 minutes in. It did not store the video to the point of the crash it just crashed and I lost all that video. I then restarted the phone (iPhone 8 plus) and tried to continue to record the event but couldn’t get the app past 4 minutes of video without it crashing. Please get this fixed. Furthermore, please adjust the controls to where you can gradually change options without it making drastic jumps depending on where you place your finger. Hope that makes sense but an example would be the zoom. If it’s on 3x and you want to gradually zoom back out it’s impossible.

Wow. By far, this is the greatest Camera app in existence. It absolutely replaces the standard Camera app as well as removes the need for extra editing via third party apps. It's simplistic design and powerful tools make it the must-have app for anyone interested in Photography. (It shoots video too!)

Didn’t work. Just kept crashing. I’m on beta version for IOS but doesn’t work.

ZOOMING FEATURE GLITCH. The app is pretty good overall, however, there’s a glitch on the ZOOMING feature. While the phone is recording and if you touch the zoom button, it will jump from 1.0x to 1.4x.

Great!. Be careful! I was quick to cry foul, but I found that in the app setting if you change it from auto focus and exposure to just auto focus in the gestures, it will cure an issue with the adjustments you make reverting back to defaults!

Decent. This app has its moments. There are only like 3 apps including this one that can really give you some good control over your camera. This particular apps user interface isn't the most intuitive. The slider bars can be quit annoying as it can be impossible to get your shutter speed to 1/60. You slide to 1/60 and once you take your finger off, it's moves ever so slightly to 1/62 or 1/57. I also feel that white balance isn't quit correct on the kelvin temp scale. I know for a fact the lights in my home are 4700. Not 3000 but that's okay. It's not hard to get it balance. Just if you ever have to reshot something after changing the settings it could be difficult to get it just right like before. It's not like a DSLR but it does well at giving you more control. I like the slider bar for focus but I would rather not have the slider for everything else.

Disappointed. Updated to one star as I contacted the developer weeks ago and have gotten no response. Getting refund from Apple. New to iOS, have always had Notes. As a photographer I wanted to take advantage of newer iPhone abilities to shoot RAW and have some manual control. Unfortunately this app was a let down as it’s longest shutter speed was only 1/15. Plus there is the annoying fake shutter sound with no option to turn it off. Finally today every pic I took with the app was blank. Too unreliable, and disappointing especially for a paid app. Uninstalling.

Dumb. Not real focus just blurs the image.

Enhances the iPhone camera. With a few minutes of fiddling I was able to take photos with the moon, stars and odd lighting

Great control for filmmakers. With news that the next iPhone will record 4K video, I searched around to find apps that let people have manual control of the camera. I came across this one and decided to give it a try; I am not disappointed! This offers great fine-tuned control for everything and let's you shoot at various frame rates - even 24fps.

Almost perfect. I have no problem recommending this to everyone in the world. At such a low price and no in app purchases, you’re getting, in essence, an entire DSLR camera on every Apple device you own My one problem is how the self-editing is on the RAW photos, and there’s no way to turn that off

Almost there. This app is great and does what I want it to, except for as soon as you swipe all the way to the right to "zoom" it freezes and you can't swipe back to your other options.

Pretty amazing!. I've looked high and low for a video app that actually gave me the controls I was looking for. I think the interface is very clean and simple. I have no complaints, and only praise to give here. One tip for users: I may have spotted a bug, but let me explain how to actually get everything to actually lock. It is a little tricky. If you set the focus, exposure and ISO, it will still compensate a little with the EV. Even though it will say "0", it in reality, it will be changing a little bit. When the value here is manually changed, then it will lock and it will remain so until something is changed like the frame rate, or resolution. It would be nice if there was a "lock all settings" button somewhere, maybe at the top bar or above the pictures review button. Great, great App!

Trouble with fine adjustment. I'm getting occasional good results from this app, but it is so hard to adjust the iso and shutter speed controls precisely, which I need, that it is frustrating and throws off my results. The icons at the end of each slider should increment and decrement by one step to compensate for this ease-of-use problem.

Good app, better than Manual. "Manual" seems to be a more popular app and I tried it first. I found it unintuitive and unreliable. This app ("Manual Camera") is much better. It has the same functionality, plus it's easier to use, takes better pictures (or at least makes it easier to take better pictures), and doesn't seem buggy. Kudos to the developer and I will be recommending it to friends if they are looking for an app that gives them manual exposure controls.

User manual available ?. I downloaded this App, is there a users manual someplace that we can use to get the full aspects of this App? Perhaps attach a link here for us.

Amazing!. I might just sell my dslr after using this app. My dslr can't shoot 240 fps, or shoot 4K video!! Great app easy to use. If you know camera stuff then this is the app for you! Incredible slo mo.

Perfect. but I would add Wide Colour Gamut (P3) compatibility to further enhance the app.

Waste of money.. and frustration.. Pros: None.. because there are no differences between this app and the native focus and aperture lock on camera app on the phone. Cons: plenty.. don’t waste your time with it. They claim the focus (manual) suppose to lock while refocusing on a new subject, it’s a lie. All the features are just features minus the functionality. And when I went to ask for a refund, it was denied.

Buggy. This app seems to break safari. I was automatically redirected to a site that tried to make me download flash. Really unusual behavior for a camera app. Deleting it fixed my problem.

Brilliant!. It gives you the control of the camera you always wanted, but without the sacrifice of continuity. It looks almost exactly like the camera app that comes installed on iOS, but with more features. I love it!

Better clarity, color accuracy. As an artist I use this app exclusively to take photos of paintings. Its color-accurate less-opinionated algorithm drastically improves the images produces by native iPhone hardware (the Apple algorithm does things fo make your selfies and vacation shots pretty that take forever to reduce in Photoshop afterward). I was thinking of buying an SLR camera but instead I got Manual. Thanks for making it! Highly recommend.

an essential for all phone photographers. this app allows user to maximize the potential of their iphone camera. thank you developers for making this absolute gift to iphone users

Simple and effective. I use this app primarily for mitigating the awful auto-white balance in the default camera on the iPhone 13 Pro (pictures taken in sunshine make skin look orange). This app exposes the white balance slider. Additionally it’s a one time low fee, which I will ALWAYS purchase instead of a subscription.

One Of The Best.. I've looked around for a camera app that seems to do everything that I wanted and just a little bit more, and I'd say that this is as good as they come. The real selling point for me was the capability to be able to zoom, most of the other apps do a good job, but they don't have any zoom functionality. In my humble opinion, this one is a winner :)

Zoom Baby. Not a bad app, but can someone tell me how to zoom with this app. I can get it to zoom no matter what.

The best manual cam so far. The best manual camera app for photo and video so far. I like how easy you can manually adjust the controls and even changing frame rate and resolution easily on screen including slow motion. My search for manual camera is over!

Works perfectly. Really helped improve the quality of my images on my I phone. So much it’s like having another camera.

Does not work. Not sure why other people like this app but it does not work. Shutter speed isn’t accurate, there’s no way to control aperture, and when I take the photograph, it saves completely different on my camera roll. As a photographer I can say that this app is no where close to using a real camera.

I like it.. Great app. Could you please add option to remember photo or video mode what are you using after reopen app? Thanks

RAW. Go into settings and change your Photo setting to RAW ! Way better photos ! ....

Focus peaking works well. I bought this photo app on sale this morning, particularly for the focus peaking feature to help optimize manual focusing on the main object of interest during closeups. I can’t always get the autofocus on my iPhone 11 to do what I want it to do. I wasn’t sure how well it would work. After testing it indoor and outdoor in bright sunlight I found it works great. When the feature is activated It highlights in a bright green color the portion of the scene that’s in focus. It’s particularly useful for those like me who are slightly farsighted.

Awesome app. After getting a bulky app that didn’t work in bright light, I got this app that is so light on memory. And boy it works. I even tried using the telephoto mode that comes with my iPhone 8 Plus and it worked like a charm. I don’t regret paying for it at all. Great work guys.

Fantastic Replacement to Stock iPhone Camera. Ever since iOS 8 unlocked the manual settings for the camera, I've been looking for an app to fully take advantage of all the new features. I've bought a few other apps only to be sorry I wasted my money. Finally I took a chance on this app and I'm very glad I did. Unlike the app "Manual" which is only a still camera app, this 'Manual Camera' app takes video too and has unlocked all the features there as well! My main reason to purchase an app is that I wanted to take better advantage of the new 240fps video. The default settings don't have a fast enough shutter speed to capture certain things. And even though slowed down, they look like lines instead of still images in each frame of the video. With this app you are able to set the shutter to 1/1000 and actually capture everything in all its slow-mo glory! But still images are great with this as well. Just try and take a photo with the stock iPhone camera app while in a darkish room. Notice how things look a little "grainy"? Try zooming in a bit and you will really see what I mean. With this app you can lower the ISO (go all the way down to 29) and then turn up the shutter speed (to make up for the image getting darker) and now the "grain" is gone and you get a beautiful, low light shot! You may have to steady the camera on a table or against a wall, but that's true of any DSLR in low light situations (only they have a tripod). As to the other comment about not being able to touch the screen and get a new auto focus without messing up other settings, you can change that behavior in the settings. Just select "Gestures" and change the 'Tap to...' setting to "Auto Focus" and not the default "Auto Focus and Exposure" and all is well. So VERY happy with this purchase and I've replaced the stock iPhone camera now with this great app!

Best Manual Camera. No annoying extra filters and clutter. Just a great Manual Mode finally!

Izyniversal. Best app for focusing video .. And smarter app to get the best shot but still not have more options. Thanks guys.

Widescreen. All good !! Widescreen please?

Simply the best.. So far, it's the best cam/vid app currently available. It's an obvious rip off of what Apple should have done. But has the simplicity and polish of a true Apple app.

Doesn't do what it says. You can't change the iris and shutter speed at the same time. It's one or the other. You need both to get creative.

Decent. I wish it could save presets, but this is nice.

Great app some updates needed. Updated 4/28/2016 I use Manual Camera for video shooting and 645 pro camera for photos. I think, of the many apps that I have tried this one has the best most precise focusing. Feature Requests: I really would love to see adding real time filters/masks. 2, I would love to use is the Sharpen mask and the structure mask. I find that the iPhone 6s plus is a little soft. Also a lot of software try to reduce film grain by bluring the image. I don't really like this technique because it makes the image look out of focus. So a sharpen mask will make my videos look a little sharper and more detailed. Of course the image can look grainy in any low light situations. But I want the options. Also the structure mask/filter really enhances the detail in a video. I really want both Temperature and Tint control in video mode. Other app like 645 camera all me to control both the temp(blue yellow adjustment) and the tint (green and magenta colors). Playing with both controls really gets you close to what I see in the scene I am shooting. Also try 645 camera for still images it is great.

Awesome. Perfect user interface. Please add histogram.

Focus doesn't work. When shooting video, continuous focus doesn't work. Useless!!!

Amazing. A 3$ DSLR camera

Crashes on new iPad Air 2. Like the title says, this app crashes on a brand new iPad Air 2 when recording video. Tried reinstall and reset. Wasted my money

Doesn't save. I spent an hour working on my regular YouTube series. Manual saved 10 mins of it and the rest of the footage disappeared. I'm deleting this and never using it again.

Almost. Great other than a locked focus goes right back to auto focus when you hit record shooting video. So that makes it a total fail for my need.

Must have app. You should have this app if want more control on focus, iso and shutter speed

Simple and amazing. I love this app. Works very well. I have a few suggestions: 1. Add a zoomed function that will show a zoomed area closeup, for more precision. 2. Add a smooth zoom option to reduce jerky motion when using zoom scroll bar 3. Support for faster shutter over 1/1000, it seems to be able to only select high speeds on auto exposure settings 4. Multiple sliders on screen, zoom and ISO for example. The 2 options would be assignable 5. Time lapse function would be nice Just some suggestions I've thought of whilst using this amazing app. Thank you 🌹

Simply Brilliant. This is finally an app I can full-heartedly say I love. Holy crap it's amazing!

Love it!!. Simple design, easy to use, I been using it all the time

Does what it says!. I really like this app! It does what it claims to do! I can't believe it isn't popular!!!

Great app. I love the controls! SO much better than the iPhone app.

HDR. Could you add HDR? A phenomenal app otherwise!
