While I still use this app, I’m extremely disappointed they killed Apple Watch integration. I don’t understand the business reason behind that decision. It was so much more convenient for my workflows. Not everyone wants to talk into their phone, but yet it seems they are putting more of an emphasis on Siri integration. Sigh.
The shortcuts suddenly won’t work through Siri. Suggestions?
I’ve programmed my shortcuts to give spoken feedback of the functionality I want to do. It recently broke and only reply with and ignored all my speaktext command. This happen when the shortcut is activated via Siri! Operating it within the app still work as usual. “Ok done” “Done”
Really useful productivity tool with lots of attention to detail. I use the App heavily, and for the most part it holds up pretty well. Upside: runs under the lock screen and keeps screen on (great for long running shortcuts!); useful widget runs and shows some prompts while phone is locked The downside: When using for long running shortcuts with lots of calls to other shortcuts, I frequently get an error “database is corrupted” (for me every other day). The shortcuts themselves get restored after restarting the phone, but the order is scrambled (I have 100 or so shortcuts, so very inconvenient). If this was fixed, I would be very happy
To Compete with Google and Alexa Apple needs to be able to queue music via airplay with voice control. Love Apple I know they will get there Eventually.
Very useful app but it’s really buggy. Please fix these annoying bugs Apple! I’ve added the Bluetooth & Wi-Fi toggles to the shortcuts app, however when i click to run it, it pauses and freezes
Hi , when will you add more scrips ? I need a script that that takes data from Bluetooth for faster connecting to AirPods .
I CHECK EVERY SINGLE DAY FOR AN UPDATE TO ACTUALLY FIX THIS APP.. lowering to 1 star for now given the critical bugs months after release.. Apple used to take pride in rock-solid software. FYI the weather action stopped working like a week after the update which added it.. it now gives an error every time. Literally weather never works anymore. Other actions stop working seemingly at random.
Firstly, while I don’t expect it to come to iPad, I’d like to see Health and Weather actions on iPad. While iPad doesn’t have Weather or Health (for whatever reason) marketing Shortcuts on iPad is much easier than on iPhone since it has a larger screen. Secondly, I’d like to inclement weather options. For example I’m trying to make a shortcut that lists the best time for me to take my daily walk, but currently I need to make a list of bad weather names, get the details of the weather for the day then see if it matches the list or not to then get the best time of day to walk. I’d just like to see options for rainy, cloudy or I inclement at the least. That way it could make scheduling things based on weather MUCH easier.
I managed to code a Shortcut that checks the next 7 days calendar events and tells me when I’m free for lunch/dinner. I _used_ to be able to say ‘When am I free for dinner?’ and Siri would say ‘You are free for dinner tonight, Tuesday and Sunday’. But something has broken (after 6th Jan); now Siri just says ‘OK’ or ‘Done’ instead of performing the ‘Speak Text’ function. Works fine within the app and from the Widget, but not when using Siri. Not sure what has changed...
I love this app. I have been using it for a while now and it has been really good. But I would love to be able to make commands run at a certain time. I have created an alarm that tells me all of my calendar events for the day and then plays music that gradually gets louder. Please add this feature to trigger command at a certain time. It would be awesome 👍
One of Apples greatest Apps that I rarely use even though I have hundreds of shortcuts. Who can remember them all??? Still, it's a very good App and you can create some great recipes.
Siri Shortcuts would be great if they worked. Simple shortcut to turn on a Homekit light scene and play a song doesn’t work - error message as above - which app? what problem? The actions work outside Siri Shortcuts. Maybe it’s another - Oh sorry it doesn’t work in Australia yet things?
Useful application but I really miss Apple Watch support. Workflow had it so why take it out of Shortcuts? Apple please bring back Watch support!
Very useful for tons of different everyday things. Makes using your phone quick and easy when you’re in a hurry. Just wish they’d add in shortcuts so you could play music off Spotify instead of just opening the app..
6 weeks ago I wrote: “Good app but Version 2.1.1 broke Call action for numbers containing * or #. This was listed as a bug fix for this version “Fixed an issue where the Call action wasn't able to dial phone numbers with special characters (such as * or #)”. However, this was actually working fine for me until this version. Please kindly rectify. Thanks.”. The issue persists for me. Very frustrating that this used to work but no longer does.
I came across this app in an online guide for adding Siri commands for Spotify, which unfortunately doesn’t yet have Siri commands included with the app. I was surprised to discover that, despite having a Shortcuts Gallery, much like the App Store for both apps and iMessage add-ons, Apple permits users to install unvetted Shortcuts from outside of the Gallery. This seems like an oversight on Apple’s behalf as Shortcuts are basically scripts/mini apps and I’ve found some Spotify Shortcuts that send data to third party sites (not directly to Spotify) in order to provide the Spotify integration. While I’m curios and technical enough to identify such Shortcuts, I don’t think the majority of users in the iOS ecosystem are and therefore they could potentially be unknowingly sharing data with Shortcut creators with nefarious intent.
current IOS, current version of the app on ipad pro and right now it just crashes on open. useless
Ever since the last update, running my shortcuts through the widget seems impossible. All I’m asking Shortcuts to do is display a (short) list - and every time is fails and sometimes it even fails to reload (“Unable to load”) and the only way to get it back is to restart the phone. Release a new update soon to fix this please!
Support Musi please it’s a great music app
Can't ask to "resume podcast" because im using Casts instead of the Apples apps
Really missing the support for the Apple Watch. Prior to Apple taking over the app this was my primary way of using the app. Sad. There are times when Siri is just not appropriate, for instance in the middle of a meeting I’m not going to say, “Hey Siri.” Come on Apple get it back to the watch.
Add new reminder at a specific time not working. when attempted it adds a reminder but but the reminder isn't set for a specific time.
I love this app but the recent update broke the Append to File command on Dropbox. I tried reauthorizing Dropbox and logging out and in. It won’t append the file. Someone please listen. I need this to work. It’s part of an important workflow!
While this app was complicated to figure out and had many bugs, I figured the development team was pressured to release the app too early from overhead. And so I figured the bugs would be resolved with future updates. I was wrong. Apple’s development team has completely ignored feedback and seems to have given up on the app altogether. I only write this review because of the incredible potential this app has if it’s development team could get out of their own way. It’s completely broken now and does not register my Siri commands. Instead, it responds with: “I’m sorry, there was a problem” ...and does not run the shortcut. I used to rely on this app, in tandem with my HomePod, Hue lights and coffee maker to have my morning routine be an All-in-One stop. Coffee brewed. Lights on 50%. Today’s calendar events and reminders read. Then morning meditation played. All while laying in bed with one “Morning” command. The idea captures where SmartHomes are inevitably heading. I just hope Apple gives this app the time and effort it needs to make this a useable product. Until then, an app with this many major and minor bugs is just unprofessional.
Can’t use with Siri after v2.1 update.
Some of the shortcuts just don’t work. They don’t have the correct components to make the widget work. The tea timer was adding 180 to the calculator instead of the timer which made no sense at all. The record button will record but won’t save anywhere unless you go in and tell it where to save it to (just recently lost the recording of an important test review because of this). No where in the gallery does it tell you that you have to edit the widgets of course if you want to you can but you HAVE to edit the widgets to be them to work! This isn’t for all of them though some widgets work just fine once you download them from the gallery which gives off the impression that if you download it then it should work without you having to go in a add/change things. SAVE YOUR SELF THE STRESS AND TIME JUST TAKE THE 10 EXTRA SECONDS TO DO THE ACTION YOURSELF. This app makes things more complicated than its worth. Once set up properly it bet it’s great but it’s screwed me over one too many times
This is one of those things built for programmers who think in weird ways and to them it totally makes sense, but for everybody else it is just meaningless. Actual shortcuts would be great though. A shortcut on the home screen that starts playing a music playlist, a shortcut to a specific book, a shortcut to a specific page/section of an app, etc. Maybe the option built right in to all apps, to just long press on whatever you want to create a shortcut to and select "create a shortcut to this page/book/movie/document." Maybe the ability to add an image for the shortcut's icon, maybe covers automatically pulled in from Kindle and Netflix and Spotify etc.
I created a shortcut to enable multiple alarms at once. Since the update, the shortcut won’t work effectively. Each alarm pops up to be activated individually instead of simultaneous activation. But I’m new to shortcuts and I’m amazed by it’s capabilities and look forward to discover so much more.
The search function in the Gallery does not work at all for me. It’s pointless being there if it doesn’t work. Otherwise, the app is very useful and is one of the most useful things to come to iOS in recent years.
Unreliable app, can’t even open a Google Maps and when it does it takes ages to do that. Some actions work in app but than don’t work when used with SIRI.
A new era for iPhone and iPad productivity. The possibilities and power of this app are endless. Amazing what it can do. Boggles the mind.
Excellent, with so many possibilities!
Mind blowing app. Was able to create a workflow that calls a web API and parses the JSON response, formats and presents the data in about 5 mins. God damn this is good.
I just downloaded the latest version, but my phone (IPhone SE) can't open it. It crashes every time I try to open it.
Just everything about this app is brilliant. Last releases addition of http endpoints was incredible, now magic variables make this the single most useful iOS app of all.
It's a great app. I'm not a power user of it but the simple things I do with it are so great and make the iOS experience that much better. Even if you don't have much programming knowledge you don't need it with all the available workflows there are
One of the best mobile apps. The potential and implementation are awesome to behold.
