PulsePoint AED App Description & Overview

What is pulsepoint aed app? PulsePoint AED is a powerful tool to build, manage and mobilize an emergency AED registry. Registered AEDs are accessible to emergency call takers and disclosed to those nearby during cardiac arrest events.

AEDs are lifesaving devices that automatically diagnose and treat cardiac arrest and are commonly available in offices, airports, schools, businesses and other public places.

The registry grows when PulsePoint AED app users submit the location of unregistered AEDs in their community, making these lifesaving devices easier to find and use when a cardiac emergency strikes. PulsePoint AED also records and displays other lifesaving resources placed at AED locations, including Bleeding Control Kits, Naloxone (e.g., NARCAN®) and Epinephrine (e.g., EpiPen®).

Watch this brief video to see just how easy it is to add an AED to the registry https://vimeo.com/pulsepoint/AED-iOS

You can also add an AED to the registry anytime by simply entering aed.new into your browser.

If you are trained in CPR and willing to assist during a nearby cardiac emergency, please consider downloading the companion app, PulsePoint Respond.

Public Safety Agencies
The PulsePoint-hosted Emergency AED Registry is integrated with leading emergency medical dispatch (EMD), pre-arrival instruction, and tactical map vendors, including ProQA Paramount, APCO Intellicomm, PowerPhone Total Response, and RapidDeploy Radius. These strategic integrations allow telecommunicators to inform callers of the exact location of registered AEDs within familiar applications and workflows. There is never a charge to use or add to the registry.

PulsePoint AED is an end-to-end FirstNet Certified™ application. FirstNet Certified solutions must demonstrate 99.99% availability and pass independent third-party security, data privacy and performance audits.

PulsePoint is a public 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation. We offer the PulsePoint AED and Respond apps and the Emergency AED Registry as part of our mission to improve cardiac arrest survival. Save a life with this app. Quickly add AEDs that you see in your travels. Fast, works good.

Find and report AEDs everywhere!. Helps save lives... Find and report one today.

“Pending Approval”???. It appears that all of the more than 60 AEDs in the Colorado Springs area show “Pending Approval”in the app. What does that mean?

Maps feature is wonky. Zooming in and out on maps is so wonky and I keep losing my place

A review!? Seriously?. Can you wait to ask for a review until after I find my life saving device?

Works, needs more participation. It works and it’s nice and easy to add an AED to the system, but it doesn’t have all AEDs because they just need to be added. Please use this app and make sure every AED you see is in this database.

Hide the photos!. The photos band in the lower part of the screen is annoying and covers half the screen. Please make them collapsible.

Great. Love this app Always right on

Need more locations identified!. I am a ALS Certified first responder. I’ve been on the site for over a year and it seems the following in some regions is terrific and other regions nonexistent. In New York State for example where I live, very few AED‘s are identified. In my immediate neighborhood I know of for dinner closer to my home then any that show up on the site. This is too good an idea to not succeed. You need either a legislative advantage or more word-of-mouth &marketing campaign (digital) to get the word out and more AED’s identified Good luck, I’ll be watching.

Retired Fire Chief. Excellent tool!

Excellent idea, good app, crashes when trying to take AED pictures. This app saves lives. Also allows you to locate, record, and take pictures of AED. Trying to take pictures of AEDs at SFO. App crashes half dozen times for each time it stores the image. Using a 6S.

Keeps getting better. Love the new features. Email login, adding an AED is easier now, too. Great job!

Fantastic!. Absolutely fantastic use of technology! I'm an IT professional as well an an EMT-Paramedic part time and this was long over due!

EMS providers. Excellent public safety resource

Log in issue. You have to log in using Facebook or Twitter account. If you don't want use one if those accounts then you can not log in to interact with the app. I refuse to expose my account to apps like that nor my friends list for the obvious reason. Change this and I would reconsider.

Dependable. Gets it right! Wish there was a way to select a particular individual unit.

Super cool. Really nice app. I live in Boulder Creek, work in Los Gatos, and head to Santa Cruz regularly. Works wherever I go.

Very useful. This app is works really well. It lets you know where the nearest AED is at. You can also add an AED location. It will also notified you if there is there is an emergency near you so you can get an AED. Great app and helpful.

I can't wait for PulsePoint to come to my city. I love both apps, why because it is easy to use. I think everyone should have both PulsePoint and PulsePoint AED. I just wish PulsePoint service was here in Houston, Texas.

AEDs save lives but this app kills…. Another crowd-sourced AED “finder.” In ten years with very many users assiduously uploading AED locations, it might be useful. Now, however, it is – like so many similar apps – just another way to waste time in the presence of someone needing BLS/CPR. Don’t bother to download it. It shows zero AEDs in heavily populated King County, Washington, USA.

Send pointless. No AEDs in my neighborhood

Great app! Help the user. Great app!! Has picture and description of where the AED and instructions, too! Keep in mind that this app is driven by us, the people using it. It needs people to identify where the AEDs are and add it to the app. So we need to help each other, be proactive and add the AEDs. More people need to help adding the AEDs. However, to the developer, is there anyway that the app can get access to our photos? I find that when I see an AED, I want to add it but it can only take a pic within the app. I may it have the time at the moment to add it so having it allow to get my photo lets me enter the info later. For verifying, can you add a feature that will have a notification that an AED needs to be verified near you when you open the app?

Easy and helpful. This is one of the easiest apps to use for downloading vital information.

Truly a life saver app!!!. Just got my CPR cert and ready to help. This app is truly revolutionary and life saver.

Awesome but kind of confusing.. I love both PulsePoint and PulsePoint AED. The only thing is the few AEDs I've added still haven't been verified by anyone so that's kind of confusing. But still, this is a great resource!

An awesome lifesaving app. A very well planned and executed app. While I haven't had the opportunity to use it in a real event, tagging AEDs that someone else may need is great too. For those who are complaining that the app doesn't cover their area, understand that the EMS agency for the area has to be the one to initiate it, not Pulse Point.

Doesn't work. Doesn't work. Just a blank screen.

Great Idea. Whenever I see an AED I look it up. If it’s not listed I add it. Maybe save someone’s life one day.

Please confirm my email address. I love the idea of this app but it’s been 5 days or so and I still haven’t received my email confirmation in order to create my account and start adding AEDs. Please help! I can update my review once I have an opportunity to use the app functionality.

Not as good as it sounds. I thought AED locations would be listed. I live down the road from the ambulance but no AED was listed near me. I tried to input them but I was not able to do it.

Delays. Something seems to have changed with this app. I am experiencing delays in the reporting of the radio calls to my local area. As an example, if an RA is dispatched and I can physically see the ambulance near me, often times I am not able to see it listed on my screen.

Life saving app. Noble idea. Unfortunately the only time I got a PulsePoint activation I didn’t hear it in time to help.

Enter your AED. Very simple way to report AEDs in your workplace. Makes locations known to emergency responders. Works well.

Great idea, poor execution. As a healthcare professional I’d very much like to be able to quickly find AEDs in public. Unfortunately I’ve had this app for a couple of years and there are no public AEDs listed in the app. A bit useless. Deleting app.

Great app. Easy to use and provides vital information

Won't work for me. I downloaded this app 3 times and still there is no box to agree to the terms so I am stuck with the terms narrative and no way to move forward.

App is broken. Can’t log in with my email address.

Will update. Will update review once I evaluate

Outstanding idea!. Great app that could truly help save a life! The only issue is it requires more users to add AED locations. Download now and potentially help save a life in your community.

Easy to use/great info to have. Easy to use but I haven't figured out how to submit an update to edit/remove badly located/pinned AEDs or ones that are no longer at the pinned location. Don't forget to check your local churches to add new AEDs in your area. Great tool!

Saves life's. My health teacher made us install this app, one week later I used it and was able to save a mans life.

PA-C/RN/EMTP. Love pulse point and the benefits it has for communities that invest in and and then get the word out and train people😀

Great concept, failed execution. Initially thought this was a great idea and was surprised no AEDs were listed near me. The UI is pretty straightforward - I know where a few are to spot check locally. But when I went to begin logging them you have to log in with Facebook or Twitter. Really? I will reconsider it if they ever change the login method or ditch it all together. Until then, deleted and I'll just try the PulsePoint app. Definitely disappointing as this working would really help make PulsePoint a better option.

It’s good.. But -2 stars for taking more than a YEAR to update to the X sized screen. Pathetic.

Great resource. Free, well supported app that helps you locate nearby AEDs. Also allows you to enter locations that may not be in their database-- important since this crowdsourcing app needs help to get their database as up to date as possible. It's a worthy cause.

Please add the Add photo from photo library rather than taking a photo within the app only.. Would like to add a photo from my library but cannot as the app seems to only accept photos taken from within the app.

Wow. Was at local gym- alarm on my phone went off "CPR NEEDED". Second alarm within a minute. Took me a few seconds to catch on- gentleman had arrested in parking lot. CPR already started by gym personnel, and fire dept paramedics there within 2 minutes. This patient was unable to be saved, but maybe next time. I am amazed at the capability of this app to alert trained first reminders to a crisis nearby. And appreciate the survey that followed. This is an incredible tool that can truly save lives. Thanks so much

Dangerous. You require people to signup and have a login before they can use this app? That’s horrible. You can push a signup after the fact, but in an emergency situation, someone could die waiting for your verification email. I downloaded this a few weeks ago thinking it was a brilliant idea and a good thing to have on my phone. Good thing I happened to open it to poke around long before I ever actually needed it. Just despicable.

AEDs save lives. I have added many for 911 operators to use. Simple!

Pulse point. I don’t even remember what this app is for. Did it come with my phone? I’ve never used it.

Pulsepoint AED App easy to use!. Convenient & user-friendly!
