Fun & very challenging. I'm new to crossword puzzles so this was a fun way to begin. If I can't think of the correct word, I can always say it's a British term that I'm not familiar with. Surprisingly, I am actually familiar with a lot of the terms. It's the references to British entertainment people that trip me up.

Bug in latest version. I am using the free version of the app. I love it. There were a few bugs in the dismissal of ads but they seem to have been fixed. I find some of the difficult puzzles to be challenging, which is good. I do find I disagree with some of the solutions versus the clues but that could just be that I learned from a different dictionary than the one used to develop the puzzle. I hope there’s more puzzles lined up for when I finish the first set!

Easy to use. Great App, easy to use from the get-go. Sure helped the hours fly by on a recent 6 hour flight. Many thanks for a very enjoyable word game.

An Anglophile's Delight. I was cautioned about this app's use of UK terms, slang and spelling, but that is one of the most fun features I've found. The timer is an excellent idea, too. Now, for the problems. The app crashes frequently. It also seems to 'freeze' repeatedly during play, just a several second delay (to "think" maybe?), but it negates the timer feature's usefulness or competing for a best time. Overall, the app is much slower than it should be in responding to play. Surprisingly, I still grew to like the design and clue challenges so much I refuse to quit using it. I just think that "almost" is a pathetic business model, so I honestly hope these issues (noted by many users in these reviews) are being addressed.

Well conceived, but oh so British. A constant source of delight for its streamlined design and “difficult” setting, which calls on vocabulary you never knew you had. Be warned that plenty of localisms pop up, from soccer stars to labor organizations to news broadcasters, which are common knowledge if you happen to live in the United Kingdom; otherwise, not. To be fair, there is plenty of Americana to balance the scale, as well as tidbits from nearly everywhere else in the world.

Great. I loved this app. I just wish there were more puzzles or that you could go back to the beginning. Out of the crossword apps I tried, this was my favorite. Unfortunately, I finished all 600 puzzles and now the only option will be to completely delete the app and find a different one.

Ads galore in the middle of play. Lots of crosswords but more ads that interrupt game play with pop ups and crash routinely the app. Navigation is otherwise fairly good. Definitions are all about the same level regardless of easy / difficult, and most of the clues for two-letter words are not shown.

Quick & Fun. I always play the “Easy” choice and it is quick and fun. Most of the word challenges are doable without assistance. I recommend this App for a lovely escape into the world of words!

Great App. Crosswords are easy enough to get through; plenty of them to pass the time and exercise your brain. 😄 App is without issues so far.

Review. I a so pleased with this app. I've always wanted to be able to do crossword puzzles, but could never complete them. This was aggravating because I was learning by not being given the answer. You app allows me to answer the questions I can and assist me in the questions I can't.

Loved until it crashed. The only thing I didn't like about this app was the ads popping up while I was trying to solve the puzzle. I can deal with ads between games, but this is ridiculous. Tonight the app crashed on me and I can't get it to open properly. Fix these issues and I will rate higher.

Clean Crosswords. Love your app. Especially like that I can play it on my iPad in landscape mode. However, you currently have an ad popping up for Hotspot Shield which locks up at about 20% through & requires me to turn off my iPad completely to get it to leave the screen. I would appreciate your addressing this problem. Thanks.

Good Test of Vocabulary. I like the challenge at different levels and different spellings both American and British English. The subject variety from mythology, to culture, to technical terms etc. adds fun, enlightenment, memory skill, vocabulary and knowledge. If you like crosswords you will enjoy this app.

Jumbled mess. Ugh, the formatting of the crossword is awful. I hate how the clues are in the boxes of the puzzle. It makes it look so messy and busy. There is no order to the clues and no way to tab through to the next clue. You have to tap on the screen to get to the next clue. Too much back and forth tapping instead of just going down a list of clues. Frustrating to go through the puzzle.

Great puzzles. Usually start my day doing a puzzle while eating breakfast. Brain kicks in, research expands vocabulary and knowledge. Whether it's finished then or later, I feel ready to meet the day. Got my boyfriend hooked as well.

Why?!. Enjoyed this app until it became stuck on a solved puzzle. Won’t allow me to move forward. Otherwise would give better rating. Have tried removing from phone; restarting phone—nothing. What do I need to do? I have enjoyed solving the puzzles, however, enjoyment has led to frustration!! Am I the only one?

Nice app. This is a nice app but not enough different words from puzzle to puzzle as a lot of the answers are repetitive. Another problem is when the puzzle is complete sometimes it doesn't clear and you have to click next puzzle and abandon the one you just completed. A few puzzles down the road that puzzle returns. I paid for the ad removal and having to abandon the puzzle to continue got worse.

Addictive...in a good way!. I have a lot of fun with this game. You can choose the difficulty you are most comfortable and there are numerous games. If you like crosswords or want to learn, this a great app for you!

Way too big for screen. This is clearly not designed for an iPhone. The puzzle is at least 4 times the size of my 4" screen, so I'm constantly having to scroll around. Annoying. It's also very annoying being interrupted in the middle of the puzzle, not just once, but 3 times each. I probably won't keep it long.

Clean Crosswords is the best!h. This is app is great. I am a crossword lover and Clean Crossword is everything a crossword lover could ask for! I especially like that I don’t have to wait until the next day to work another crossword. And it doesn’t require any MONEY! Yay!

Fun game. Fun game to play. Learn new things with each puzzle. Some are hard and really have to think what the answers are they sometimes you need to do a reveal a letter to help. The only downside is that once you do every single puzzle there aren’t any more to play. Would be nice to have more puzzles to play once a category is done for example once you complete the easy ones there are no more. So bring in more puzzles to keep you on your toes. Other than that I have fun *udate:i finished them all so now I don’t have any to play...what’s the purpose of you can’t play more...makes you wanna delete after you are done with it as it will take up space on your phone. Add more puzzles!

This app is great!. I love this app! The crosswords are challenging enough to keep me interested. I really enjoy challenging crosswords because I get to learn all sorts of new things by searching for the answer on Wikipedia or in a dictionary. I love that this app has 600 puzzles for each level of difficulty -- that's so many! And it's fun to have a goal to aim for. The app does crash for me quite a bit, but I've never had it erase my progress on the puzzle. I love the interface and the general look of the app -- it really is clean! The only thing I'd suggest is a way to know whether or not you've typed in the correct word. The app will give a little ding when you type in a word, but I've found that that doesn't actually indicate your word was correct. The ding is confusing because I always assume it means I was right, and then I have to go back through the puzzle and find which words were wrong at the end. It'd be nice to have an option/setting that allows you to turn on or off indications that you typed in the correct word. Overall, really fun and addicting app!!

Frustrated. I’m a crossword junkie, and would give this app 4 or 5 stars... but I purchased the ad-free version ($3.99) and I’m still having ads pop up all the time... actually even more often than before. I can easily swipe them away (do not have to wait for the “x” to close it) but it is still highly annoying and distracting. Would not have spent the money had I know this would happen. If this problem is fixed, I will gladly give 5 stars!

Puzzle Review. I thoroughly enjoy these puzzles. They have several features that assist me. First there are three levels to choose from. Once you are successful at a level you can jump up to the next. But you don't have to stay there. You may go back at any time. The best is the help button that allows you to choose a letter for help, or an entire word. Now I play when I' riding in the car, or standing in line. It really challenges my mind!!!

Best Puzzles Ever!. I love this game! When I first downloaded it I thought I would never get through all the puzzles. This game is so addictive. I have played it for hours on end. It is fun and challenging! I am ready for the next round. Great game!

INCORRECT DEFINITIONS. I enjoy this version of crossword. However, from time, the answers are not always correct according to dictionaries (multiple). Today the puzzle asks for "auditory organ" and the answer is "vassal" which according to all definitions I found pertain to feudal times in history or a game platform. I found no reference of vassal to auditory organ. I suppose the crossword author has better or different dictionaries than the more common ones. .

Exceptional! Engaging, perfect balance of clues per puzzle.. Finally! An engaging crossword app. NYT is too far expensive and difficult - big cultural learning curve to get the clues. This app has clues in each puzzle in a range from simple to not, so you can finish the puzzles. The clues are logical, they include general knowledge and cultural references that aren't too narrow or obtuse. Even easiest puzzles are not boring and stupid. The app itself is a pleasure to use. Intuitive. I have no complaints or suggestions. Thanks for a great crossword app! The best I've found ever.

Ads due to Free. I LOVE crosswords when they have Easy, Moderate and Hard levels so this is a GREAT compilation. The ONLY issue is the constant ad pop ups since I LIKE to beat my times and they make it nearly impossible. I understand they are necessary in order for this to be FREE but it should be limited to ONE time per puzzle being solved!!!!

ESCAPE INTO THE LAND OF WORDS. The Clean Crossword Puzzles always are there, waiting for me to begin solving. They offer an opportunity for me to get off the world and escape, at my own timing, into the “Land of Words and Memories” of my world travels and episodes in literature. The puzzles are challenging enough but also solvable for a non-expert, and I like it that I can take my time and not feel caught up in a timed exercise unless I choose to. I often look up words that are new to me, hence I constantly add new words to my vocabulary. In This World, I joyfully experience relaxed interaction with words.

Brilliant. It is a very good puzzle. Thank to makers. The only problem I have encountered when the ad about “Hacks” starts, which freezes. I updated, still same problem.

Clean Crossword. Love this app, but for the last two days it keeps blacking out on me, Are you guys coming out with an update. Cant play for more than ten seconds and then it blacks out. Hope it is fixed soon.

Great format, one complaint. I like the way this is set up with the clues right in the puzzle, and it's challenging enough that I have to look up some of the answers (or cheat with the letter and word solver). I also like the ability to check if what you've done so far is correct. My one complaint is the app crashes quite often, and I lose as much as half of what I've done. That can be very frustrating if you're on a roll and solved a large portion of the puzzle.

Not stable enough!!. I would give it a higher rating if things stayed as you entered them! Having given answers, then checking them after I finish, the letters I inserted HAVE CHANGED!!! This is quite frustrating as I do enjoy crossword puzzles, but I will not buy any more unless this quirk is corrected! UPDATE: This just gets worse and worse! I would have gotten perfect scores if the letters didn’t keep changing! Please update and fix this annoying quirk! I really like puzzles and this one would be great if you fixed it!

Frustrating Glitch. This app was really frustrating. It kept locking up mid-puzzle and the app would close, losing half of my answers. Ads would also pop-up and then become a blank screen. There was no way to get back to the puzzle except restarting the app. Liked the app a lot until I started having problems.

Love the format but can’t play what I paid for. I love the way the hints are built into the design instead of a list off to the side. I hate that it got stuck with Easy at 34 solved and the 34th puzzle is complete but it won’t move past it. Tried deleting answers and reentering—it will give me the 100% complete pop up but main screen still shows it as 100% complete and when you click to solve puzzle it keeps showing the completed puzzle. It did it on the medium and hard later on so I deleted the app and reinstalled, I got med and difficult back but not easy. Tried to contact developer but ended up never finding a link. Sorry to have to post problem here. FYI I paid the $3.99 for ad-free version.

Different, but good. The puzzles are a little different, as crosswords go, but I like them! The ads, while obtrusive, are in frequent enough to not be too much of a bother. Minor bug: sometimes two adjacent down boxes will have arrows pointing from the same clue.

I love it, but.... This has, by far, been my favorite crossword app. The puzzles are interesting and challenging, plus the added bonus of different cultural slang and words. However, even after updates, I am frozen on two different levels of the game and cannot move on, which is rather disappointing when I would really love to continue playing. I hope these issues can be resolved!

Great puzzles. I enjoy these with the exception that it is for those living in the U.K. It makes some of the local words a bit challenging. Also it would be great if all of the neighboring letters were words. But it is definitely challenging.

Fun puzzles, too many ads. This app has an enormous amount of puzzles which is great. As others have mentioned there is a repeat of some words from puzzle to puzzle, but that doesn't really bother me too much. Sometimes it's helpful when I'm stuck on a nearby word. Overall, I enjoy the app and I'd recommend it if you like doing crosswords. However, the amount of ads is annoying and seems to have increased. Also, a couple of weeks ago, the app was crashing constantly. The developers must have done something because the crashing is at a minimum now. If it had continued I would have deleted the app.

Great app - hours of fun and learning!. As of yesterday, I finished all the puzzles. While I don’t know for sure how long I’ve had the app, I know it’s provided me with hours and hours of fun and learning. I wish there was a way to refresh/start over with the puzzles or to download a new set of puzzles. I like that I can do as few or many puzzles whenever I want, not dependent on a “daily” puzzle delivery, and I like that there are options to check my work as I go. The app almost never “froze.” Would I download this again? Yes!

Some issues. 1) There are often two letters together along the edge that don’t form a word. 2) Sometimes a box with 2 clues have arrows pointing to which spaces the clue belongs to, but you can’t tell which it should be. 3) You can’t revisit finished puzzles. 4) Show errors option makes incorrect letters dark red, which is hard to see. Color background a light red instead. 5) After 34 puzzles in easy mode the puzzles stopped advancing. Had to skip to the normal mode to continue. Interface is easy to use. Reasonably happy with this app.

Good crossword but let me select zoom level. I like the format of this crossword puzzle with the clues being on the puzzle. I play it often. Please developer let me choose the zoom or be able to revert from the latest update. I want to see more of the crossword puzzle and not have to scroll up and down due to the current zoom.

Fun App. I’ve enjoyed this crossword app with one minor problem. When I finish a puzzle I like to review it. With this app the puzzle disappears and I can’t revive it. It does reappear occasionally but I don’t know why. I would appreciate some help with this.

Not quite there. 1. I'm having the same problem that a user mentioned back in March. Puzzle completed but won't advance to next puzzle. Report error function does not show any errors. Only way to proceed is to skip puzzle and do the next one. Very minor 2. I'm miffed that I spent $3.99 to eliminate the ads. It worked for that session and then went back to the somewhat annoying ads. Annoying because I paid you your vigorish, but you're still flogging the ads. Not so minor.

Great help!. Been away from crossword puzzles for quite awhile. The easy puzzles are great to remind me how to figure out the answers and graduating to each level really builds your confidence!!

Needs Dark Mode. I love this game and play it most nights, but it’s one of the brightest apps on my phone with the white background. To reduce eye strain at night, I would request adding a dark mode option, or color options.

Good Game. It’s a good game; one must remember that it is an English version (instead of an American version), so spelling of certain words are different, and a few clues might seem strange. No stars taken away for that; it’s the constant ads that keep popping up that make it annoying. Yes, I know the developer needs to make money somehow if s/he’s giving it away for free, but having them (as in multiple ads) pop up in the middle of play as well after each finished game is distracting. The frequency of the ads has gotten to the point that I hate the ad sponsors.

Great Puzzle Fun. I enjoy filling in these crossword puzzles. There are 3 levels of difficulty and hundreds of puzzles. There are a couple of helpful hints like fill in the first letter or fill in the word. Both of these will help you to finish the puzzles. I highly recommend this FREE app.

Great puzzles. Love the European flair to the puzzles. Great pastime, but how do I replay all the puzzles after I have finished all three categories?? Would love to be able to download again and start over...😁

Fun & Interesting. I really enjoy this app. It is user friendly & easy to play. Some words are easy & some are challenging. I like the combination because it keeps me interested. And if I get stuck, I know I can always use the help button. I do my best to figure out the word before I use the help button. But either way, I learn. It’s a win/win! Thanks!

Spelling is bad. When you have an answer for a clue it should be spelt correctly, for instance clue was city in Australia your answer was 'Sidney' it is spelt 'Sydney' you really need to get names of major cities right.

Too many errors. At first I really enjoyed this app but as I progressed through there were too many apps. Eg, koala is a marsupial, not a mammal. Errors in the clues were also bothersome. I also prefer to peruse a finished crossword, especially if I have found it difficult but as soon as it’s finished, it disappears. I give up !!

Annoying. Change it back.

Great!. Definitely the best crossword app I've found. A lot of repetition of values though.

Lots of mistakes. Some incorrect answers, arrows point to wrong row/column making it confusing to answer, same clues used in different games but have conflicting answers, complete some puzzles but they don’t register so you have to abandon it and start again. The constant pop up ads are annoying and I’m not paying to remove them given the poor quality. Never seen crosswords with spelling mistakes before!

Clean crosswords. Love this crossword,I like the fact you have different levels to work through and able to get hints if really stuck.

Educational. Excellent crossword, especially for semiliterate people like me. I may know the answer to a clue but my spelling is incorrect. I learn as I play this application.

Exasperating. The jumping around of the working screen every few seconds drives me crazy. You need to constantly start hunting yet again for the spot you were looking at just a sec ago... Maddening.

Clean Crossword. Great app. I love doing the puzzles, but, some of the clues vs the answers are a bit odd! I have completed 50 puzzles but it isn't changing the %solved at all. Can't find anywhere to ask about this.

Not bad.. As usual, has a US focus, but nice touch to be able to quickly "Solve Letter" or " Solve Word" for those that aren't so obvious.

Too many spelling issues. sorry but not worth it, the worst part is the useless clues, they do not make sense. The crossword has way too many British plant and animal questions, definitely not universal

5hirl5. Great app I would recommend. The pop up adds are annoying halfway through a word other than that, some answers are obscure compared to the question asked. Choosing a level is a great option.

Hate the ads. I was really enjoying this ap but the , all of the sudden my concentration is completely broke with stupid little video snippets that appear. I can’t find anywhere turn the ads off. I’m looking for another puzzle app now.

Interruptions and glitches. This is my preferred crossword app but I will quit using it due to the joint frustration of crashes - it just closes and you have to reopen and get back to your crossword. Nothing major and not frequent so merely annoying. Then it refused to recognise a completed puzzle despite announcing it, so I had to reinstall and start from #1 again. And on top of that I get about 3 or 4 ad interruptions per puzzle. I understand the red for ads and don't begrudge that but they are constant and always seem to take over just as I'm about to type and answer. I can't stand it any more! I'll go find another with less interruptions.

Cannot reach App Support. The "Options" page on this app makes no sense and does not seem to function anyway. App Support is uncontactable - unconscionable, when one has paid to remove the ads and the app is unsatisfactory. Puzzles disappear as soon as completed, which is REALLY ANNOYING, and I thought the "Options" page might help. But apparently makers of the app do not care. The puzzles are enjoyable, but questions about pop bands are ridiculous. Have just updated iPad To iOS9, and app has stopped functioning. This is on 21 September 2015. Down to one star. But do the app developers care? Of course not! They have our money, so why bother?

Too many adds. Too many add taking over an enjoyable cross work. Such a pain.

Crosswords. I'm enjoying these crosswords and improving my word count as well.

App faults. If it would stop locking up it's a good app. It becomes frustrating after a while

Puzzle review. I do like this crossword puzzle except for some poor clues & not enough Hard or Medium puzzles.

Thoraxelbane. Good app, the pop up ads are not as intrusive as most. Occasionally the clues are clueless as they are so far off the mark, or the answer is not even a word, and US spelling is sometimes used too. But these are minor quibbles, and it’s not the end of the world to have to use the help function. The format is good and having levels also.

Thank you!. I really like these clean crosswords. (No risk of offensive words.) The only two issues are repetition of answers in new crosswords and misplacement of some of the arrows on the crosswords. Otherwise a great crossword app.

Rosemary. Enjoying the crosswords. Love starting and stopping as required. Easy to pick up and continue when time allows.

Kept crashing. I have an older iPad2 and the game kept crashing even before the first puzzle screen could open, 😡. I guess it might be that my iPad is too old to run such sophisticated software (tongue in cheek)like this! I certainly won't be buying a new iPad to have it outdated in a couple of years like Apple would like me to do..

Very average. Love that people love this, however, 1: Eta is not E in Greek it is H. E in Greek is epsilon, This error persists & I am up to crossword 545! 2: number of times when clue indicates one word answer but the answer is more than one word. 3: Anatomy is not " The structure of the body" It is the study of the body, please learn to write crossword puzzles. Think I'll stick to the written form, I am yet to find a crossword app that works.

Enjoyable. I'm enjoying the challenge levels. Have encountered the odd error, and some definitions are 'off' though. The ads aren't too intrusive. Certainly the best free Crossword app I've used so far.

Spelling. Please note that the capital city of New South Wales in Australia is Sydney, not Sidney. I know it’s not life changing but still pretty annoying.

glitches & crashes. Looks good, but can crash mid-word. Advertised as being in British English, but "odour" was minus the "u" as in US English. Some clues appear to relate to a particular row or column, but are actually for one to the left, right, or below. Doesn't allow user to expand or contract the screen view. Not quite the experience it was purported to be and so I'm disappointed to have paid for add-free up front.

Good. Good word puzzle, three levels with plenty of games. 👍🏻

Super easy. Easy to navigate. Great clues ! I recommend this crossword to all

Glitches. I have been using the app for some time. I quite like it although I will swap back to another app when this one is up. This is for a couple of reasons. I can't stand the space taken with the top banner and that it often flashes over and over. The app is also really touchy and launches into advertising other apps right in the middle of a game. Irritating.

Seriously good. Just the thing for word nuts. Sure the odd (minor) issue with clue in wrong area, but overall fun, and worth having. Worth getting rid of the ads too!

Paid to remove. Ads but ads still appear!. Not bad, but I am disappointed hat I cannot see the whole puzzle on he screen while I have the keyboard visible. Also here seem to be many cases where here are letters left together that are neither clued nor indeed words. Still I will keep going with it in hopes that the fonts can be sized thus allowing easier use. Now after using it for a few weeks the adverts have come back. I want a refund if I am having ads I will simply delete the program. Not happy!

Pretty good.. As far as crossword apps I’d say it’s a B minus. Kinda awkward to use, very occasionally it’s not clear which clue matches which answer. Otherwise, good range of questions and not US-centric or (location)-centric like many other crossword apps, which is handy when you’re not familiar with international pop-culture.

Ads are ruining this app. Ads flashing constantly at the top of the puzzle and other full screen ads interrupting gameplay so frequently have ruined this app for me. It was one of my favourites for a very long time so I’m very sad they’ve now ruined it in this way. (They are trying to force you to pay to opt out of ads that had never been there before.)

Entertaining. This crossword is very entertaining and at the same time, relaxing. I enjoy it very much, and look forward to play it every day. Tim

A pleasure. For the most part, I enjoy these puzzles. There are always a few words I have think about and/or learn. Lately, the keyboard doesn’t show unless I turn my iPad to portrait and then back to landscape. Also, the puzzles seem to be larger than my screen and require a lot of moving around. Not sure if this new, but would prefer if it fit the screen.

Excellent. Excellent crossword. Keeps me busy. Challenging but no so I get discouraged.

Huh?. Some clues do not match the answer- making it questionable. Numb= asleep, all= each. So it can be frustrating at times. Also, spelling is changed in order to fit space. Naan bread can be spelled naan, or nan. Also, some of the answers are in poor taste. Eg. inbred=native. I can’t see anyway this is acceptable or even should be an answer. Also-mute= dumb, lame.. which again is in poor taste. I have played almost all 3 tiers so I have seen this more than once. Please do better than this! Okay, but…UPDATE TO 4-STAR. UPDATE: I appreciate that the developer has responded. I didn’t understand the % solved part very well. Thank you for clarification. And I appreciate that the developer has not dismissed the need to have the game automatically fit to various screen sizes. PREVIOUS 3-STAR REVIEW: I’ve solved 8 puzzles so far but it tells me: 0% solved so far. What gives? Also, the puzzle needs to fit to horizontally to the iPad Air 4 screen. It’s two columns short of fitting the screen in portrait position.

Crashes always. Crosswords are decent but free version crashes like crazy. Brutal.

Review. Generally ok crossword. Some definitions of the words are very weird and have no relation to the answer. Having problem with the puzzle closing for no apparent reason on several occasions

Very good crossword. I like that this app has multiple levels. It is nice having the clue right at the answer space so you don't have to go back & forth to an across & down list. There is a chime when you fill in the answer but the chime doesn't sound any different with the right answer to the wrong one. It would be nice to be able to reset a level once you are done of it. Overall, very good app.

Crashed!!!. I had to delete then reload due to crashing!! I had paid to have ads removed but now they are back with the new download!!!! How do I fix this?????

Spelling. Some of the answers are misspelled.Makes it difficult.

Information. Many of the words in the puzzles are British. I’ve learned some new slang e.g. lug means ear! I have had a problem with the app freezing, and the keyboard disappearing. The only solution I have found is to delete the app and then reload it, and sometimes even this doesn’t work. I like the number of puzzles avalable in each category.

Used to be a good app. Love playing the app. Ads are now crashing the app on my iPad. It’s happening multiple times on each puzzle. Only way out is to reboot iPad. Will be deleting soon if not fixed

Better than most. This has a wide selection. But the popup ads, while necessary for a free app, are annoying; they were few at first but are now quite frequent. Also, many british expressions that we north-americans struggle to guess...i.e. “brolly” for umbrella. 4/5.

Clean Crossword. Recently I was asked to okay ads to help pay for this game. I agreed since ads were already appearing and I wasn’t prepared to pay money to play. Since that time I can seldom solve one word before a new ad appears. Once the ads start they appear about once every ten to twenty seconds. It is almost impossible to play this game anymore.

Annoying. App kept opening a safari webpage unprompted. Deleted. Was annoying.

Questionable. Some of the clues are very questionable, eg. Numb-asleep. I don't think anyone sleeps that sound. I wish I did. The App keeps closing also but not bad.

Clean Crosswords. Like that you don't have to use tokens when needing help and you don't have to pay to do a puzzle. Lots of clues I notice are quite British. Sometimes when I finish a puzzle and check for errors, it doesn't say puzzle solved.

Challenging & fun. Yes, it is a mixture of American & UK names/ terms but that just adds to the challenge. I like the "Mark Error" feature so that I can quickly figure out what wrong answers I have supplied and correct them.

GREAT PUZZLES. Great Puzzle APP! 3 levels of skill and the help function gives you different levels of assistance. AD nags are irritating but you can buy you way out.

Rather unique format. Quick and easy. Mostly useful words for developing quick recall, though a small ratio are uncommon to Americans and would best be eliminated.

Okay for England. Error button!!! Why? Too many English words for America English! Doesn't set up for a new puzzle when your done, even though there are no errors! Doesn't skip completed words. Clunky navigation. Easy is childish, med is elementary, & hard is sophomoric.

Worst. Game. Ever.. Used to be ok, but now is just an annoying piece of **** app due to its incessant, bullcrap nagware ads. You should give us the option to pay a couple of bucks to gets rid of the God da** interruptions and also unlimited new games. The way it is now, you really deserve ZERO STARS, BUT UNFORTUNATELY THAT WAS NOT AN OPTION OR I WOULD'VE DONE THAT.

Full of misspelled words & errors. I think this puzzle was created by somewhat racist people! It’s full of derogatory or insensitive or call it politically incorrect words, such as, lanky for a tall person, afro for coarse frizzy hair, tyre to mean tire, ice to mean a sweet dessert, and so on, and only God knows how much of our information they are stealing in the name of “free”?!

Crosswords. I love these puzzles, they are free and you can do as many as you like. Not easy, challenging, but you can get hints. Love it.

Free at least. If from the U.K. This would be a great version. Seems clearly dome by a British group. Many of the clues relate to U.K. As for me, from the US some of the clues are a bit odd. But, I still gave it 3 stars, as it is free, relatively easy to use, and helps build vocabulary, especially as it relates to British things.

Help!!. Absolutely love this crossword but it seems to crash a lot for me. Today is really bad, I begin playing but after inserting a few letters the game blacks out and flies off my screen. I have deleted it several times and downloaded time and time again to no avail. Do I have to delete this fun game forever???

Not easy for the color-blind. I really like this crossword game, but I cannot tell the difference between the red and black lettering, which,Ames it incredibly hard to determine if I have a letter or word wrong. I’ll just play with a friend!

Clean Crossword. The first game took a while to load and I played that game on the easy level to get accustomed to this app. I could not get a new game to load.

Crashes way too often. I really like this app and would rate it much higher, but it is constantly crashing. After it crashes I have to re-enter many of the answers that I have already entered. This is quite annoying.

Ads too distracting. The ads in this app are way too distracting. They interrupt the puzzle during critical times. Had stopped playing it for awhile and came back to it. Now I remember why I stopped playing it. Find another crossword puzzle.

Game from hell. Free version has ads that take over the screen. You must either kill the app or open the advertiser’s website. Yes, it is only ? $4 to remove the ads, but why reward that behavior. The audio ads override my audio settings, so I must silence them each time. I won’t be bullied into paying for the app. How many 1-star reviews can you take?

One bug. At the end of a puzzle, finding last errors sometimes does not, and the puzzle should be completely correct; however the app freezes and the only way to end the puzzle is to quit. PLEASE fix.

Needs work. Cons: Ads run in middle of game rather than before--immediately uninstalled due to this. Cannot resize screen. Just too annoying to navigate. Pros: Can choose difficulty level. Normal is adequately challenging without being impossible.

Too Many British references. Too many proper names of British celebs no one in USA has heard of.

Replay. I have completed all the puzzles in all 3 categories and would like to see how much I retained but can’t figure out how to replay on my iPad 4.

Not bad. This is a fair app with a few problems. On occasion the arrows pointing from clues are wrong. Not all sequences of letters spell words like a classic crossword. Also, British spelling and words are used making it a bigger challenge for those not familiar with British English.

Challenging puzzles. I love the puzzles, but have difficulty with the British spelling of words and with British actors’ names.

Good for British. A good app, but, many of the puzzle clues are in British slang or expressions. Layouts are also only vertical on iPads. Obviously puzzles are composed by our neighbors across the pond. But, at least, you can use the clues. A good pastime.

Annoying ads. From the very first game you will be interrupted constantly with ads. No time to see if the app is actually worth having, or even if it works, just ads in your face. And you can't ignore them because play stops until the ads are finished. Deleted this app after two games

British Text Crossword. This wonderful app certainly comes from Britain. To succeed you must know words common in the UK and not outside there. Such as “bloke” and “chap”. Very entertaining. Recommended.
