Not really useful. I’m surprised that this app has so many five star reviews. Yes, it looks pretty neat and doesn’t crash. But it has completely weird, wrong, and fake listings — found a place next to me for a price that’s too good to be true, messaged and got a text back from a confused realtor in Philadelphia (I’m in CA). Phone number listed on the ad didn’t work. An absolutely bizarre experience.. and so many of their rentals around me do not show up on CL or other competing apps, which really makes you wonder. There is also no filter for availability dates. You know, a thing that would be useful for renting? Yeah, not there. So you have to click through a billion screens to discover that Floor Plan A in this building is available starting in 3 months from now, which is a giant waste of time.

Helped me find right time to move. I’ve been on a lease month to month since January 2020 and was struggling to figure out when to move and also wasn’t seeing anything that met my needs. I loved receiving Zumper’s rent updates, which helped me figure out rents were going up again. This app was so much easier to track the apartments I was interested in, and I ended up finding my new place that I’m IN LOVE with.

Zumper just makes me feel more productive!. Listen. There are a ton of apps and sites out there for finding an apartment, but none of them make me feel like I’m making progress towards finding my dream apartment like Zumper does! Trulia? Boo-Lia! PadMapper? BadApper! I’m still homeless, but Zumper makes me feel like I’m one click away from domestic bliss! 5 stars!

Great for long term hunting, not so great for short. I think this app is awesome for searching for exactly what you want, with a wide range of filters that allow you to specify pretty much anything you want in a place to live. Unfortunately, I’m looking for a short term lease, and NOTHING comes up. No matter how few filters I put, nothing shows. I know that in part, this isn’t the app’s fault, but it’s still frustrating. I’m not sure if they limit short term lease to only 3 or 6 month leases or if they also allow sublets, but I have found many places in my search area offering both on different websites, neither of which are listed on Zumper. I appreciate this app, and very well might use it again when I look for another apartment in the future, but currently, it has not helped my search whatsoever.

Amazing experience. I have moved ~10 times in the last couple of years and was finally ready to settle down in Chicago. However, I only had a 3 day timeline to start looking for apartments and sign a lease. A friend recommended Jeremy to me and within a couple of hours we were on the phone going through 15 options he had pulled for me in the area based on my preferences. We narrowed it down to 5 and he scheduled all of the appointments for less than 48 hours later. A few hours later I had found multiple apartments I liked and one that I loved - he even helped me to get some extra deals before signing the lease. After moving so many times and how stressful it was finding an apartment every other time, I never knew it could be this easy and downright enjoyable. I give all the credit to Jeremy and would recommend him to ANYONE who is looking to move to the Chicago area - he was excellent!

Great app!. Great app! I love there’s a “favorites” section where you can organize your top picks. Also, it works with your budget& preferences. With this app, my husband and I were able to find an apartment pretty quick. We didn’t even have to look for a while. We found a place and moved in within two days. Thank you for that! (:

Roommates keyword. Would be helpful if Horse would have option to say Who me as a tag so you would be easier to disassociate someone that is looking to share a place from someone that is renting the whole place. The keyword roommate will be easier on the quick look. Thank you!

Left hanging after weeks of prep and discussion. I reached out to Zumper and they explained they could take over the house hunting for me and set up showing etc... with the only rule being I could not contact listing brokers myself. I said ok and we decided on going to see a couple apartments this weekend. I emailed early this week to check on the plan and didn’t hear back. Today, two days before our planned day to visit apartments I get this email from Guy Goldman “Hi Rachel, My apologies for the delay here. I've reached out to a handful of landlords and we've been trying to set up a tour for you this weekend. Unfortunately we have some bad timing and our agents happen to all be out of town on the same weekend. I wish we could have helped but I wanted to give you enough notice to reach out to brokers yourself so you can set things up. My apologies again for the delay and hopefully we can assist in the future. -- Best,” So basically after I have emailed you all the apartment I am interested and not done any of the leg work myself you decide 2 days before viewing that you can no longer help... thanks for royally screwing be over, useless service!!!!!

An awesome housing app. Just started using Zumper. Seems legit so far, and I like that you can favorite listings and if you message them, you can see that while looking at other ads. They also have a prewritten message for inquiring about ads as well.

Great app and online website but a few suggestions. I have found numerous leads on Zumper that other apps/websites didn’t have but what I found on like Trulia for instance was they had information on the level of crime in the area and commute distance to work. now I have to take another step and use google maps find out my commute and go to another website that shows crime statistics. Not sure if this a proprietary thing used by Trulia but if not I think it would be a welcome addition to Zumper.

fake posts. two posts in a row that are scams and fake you email them and they send you the same response Hello, Thanks for your interest and inquiries about my Property. The property will be available for a period of 3 years or more. I'm in need of a good and responsible tenant that can move in into my property and take very good care and maintain it in my absence. We will be away for a while that is why we made up our mind to put it out for rent to whomever that will take good care of it. Please I want you to note that I spent a lot on my property that I want to give you for rent,so I will solicit for your absolute maintenance of this property and want you to treat it as your own. Needs fix for landlord. I kept recieving emails from different people through zumper. They are all inquiring about the rooms I posted but the funny thing is I didn’t post it on zumper I posted it on padmapper. I reply to all the inquiries but I did not get a response and at first I thought it was just that they were serious about renting. (All I said was I agreed to the viewing time they asked for) then I realized it’s possible I have to go through zumper to respond. I created an account and looked for my listing and I couldn’t find it I used the same email address I have been receiving inquiries in and I couldn’t find a way to reply. Finally I clicked the link in one of the inquiries and clicked the button to show interest on my listing to see what it does. It resulted in me emailing myself about the listing I couldn’t access. I don’t know if I’m the only one experiencing this if so please help if not please fix this issue.

Lack of filtering makes app large useless. Unfortunately the app doesn't let you specify a min - max range of bedrooms in apartments you are searching for. This means that even though you may just be looking for studios and one-bedrooms, you get all apartments that match those criteria AND more— which includes many ads for rooms for rent in larger apartments which are mislabeled by brokers as “apartments” instead of “rooms” (as they should be). There doesn’t seem to be any quality control on the part of Zumper to address this kind of intentional misclassification either.

Worst rental search app available. This app is horrid. I moved to a new state. And yet I continue to get notices about searches I created years ago. There is no clear way to delete former searches and so you have to weed through the listings. Rentals are in much greater demand where I am than where I was so most of the notifications are for places I have no interest in moving to today. When reach out to support they wanted everything but my last dollar to “figure out” what I was doing wrong. Nope! Not today Zatan! Avoid this app at all costs.

Terrible at screening scams. There needs to be an update on how scams are screened. To give a listing the full email address for one is horrible. Now I have dozens of scam emails. The most recent scam experience was probably the most detailed and well written I have ever seen in my life. It was very promising and just over all was too good to be true. The only way I was able to catch the scam was through a mistake they had made by double sending me a detailed email but with a different name. Same pre typed sob story email. It was CRAZY! Good thing I hadn’t given them my current address. Please whatever you do Zumper fix this. It could cost people thousands. Screen your listings.

Few listings under $1,000/month.. If Zumper works as intended, you give over ALL of your personal financial info and then you can rent an apartment directly from your phone. I hated giving up so much data to a data reseller, but I needed to save time and Zillow has hundreds of listings. However, if you set the search criteria to ~ only 2 or 3 options appear. I tried it for 90 days and Zumper is a total waste of time.

Apartment searching. Pretty good app for looking for an apartment! Some of these reviews seem to be for maybe areas where a realtor has to show apartments and be involved but using this app just to find a place in Raleigh has been amazing for me. Easy to use. Prob will delete but will re-download whenever my lease ends.

Alerts. I haven’t had the app for long but so far I like it. My only issue right now is about the alerts. When I click on the alerts button & it brings me to that section of the app, I can’t see what the new listings are. I have more than one saved search and each saved search has the same number of listings it did before the notification popped up. It would be nice if there was a better way to see which save has the new listings.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS APP. The houses on this app are NOT verified and A LOT of scammers are easily tricking users into sending money through fake forms or will try and get you to leave houses unlocked. Zumper is honestly such a fraud they do not do any background on these houses and even display some with out a house number?!? IF ANYTHING!!! Always search the house address before submitting any information because you will find most of them are listed on other sites with a different price and landlord - or they are owned by a company!!! Always look at posted stickers and report the scams to the official site so they can be aware. Deleting this app and never recommending it to anyone…

Scammers, unprofessional and unreliable. I did everything from filling out the financials, also paid to have an updated credit report ready for review so when I chose an apartment the owner or management company had access to it. Unbeknownst to me very apartment I was interested told me they cannot view it on Zumper. Why? Because they have to be on Zumper as well. The apartments are rented out and retrieved from another website. There’s no full disclosure telling you that some owners and management companies cannot view the credit report they had you purchase. The information is unreliable and a scam. I tried reaching out to them to help me and they receive responded very late. Also the response was not pertaining to my question at all. I tried telling them and they gave another response not pertaining to my concerns. If you want to find an apartment in a certain area or neighborhood, I suggest to drive out there or have someone drive you around and look for yourselves, you get better deals and get to see the apartments up close and not in an app taken by professionals to make them look like they’re worth more than actual price. All the renting apps are alike. Save yourself the time, money and headache. DIY!

Great rental site!. We have been looking seriously for about a week now and Zumper seems have all kinds of choice rentals, with enough info to help with your decision to go for the one that catches your eye! Missed one , but, for some reason still upbeat and positive that We will find something off this site. Thanks Zumper!

Nice experience. Beautifully designed app. I’ve tried a few apartment searching apps and this one feels the most polished. Although the amenities filters don’t always work as expected. Like selecting laundry in unit and in building (because ether works for me) excludes building in my results that have laundry in the building. So for a while I thought there were barely any listings until I turned off the filters.

Lots of scams & filters don’t work great. We found 3 houses in the area we’re looking that seemed decent. The first one we went and saw was about the size of our current bedroom. Literally the entire house was the size of our master bedroom. Can’t blame that on Zumper, but the bedroom in this house smelled like urine, had ripped up carpet, and the back door lock was broken. The other 2 listings were taken down for suspicious activity before we were able to see them. We also refuse to live in a townhome, apartment, or anything that’s attached to someone else (and we’re willing to pay more to do so). But when we filter by only houses, tons and tons of apartments still show up. I just wish the filter for only houses worked and that there was a better vetting process for who they’ll list on here.

Scam. I’ve had this app for a few days and it has been very discouraging it seems that every house I put an inquiry in on comes back to to be a scam. “Homeowners” are saying they are out of the state or country. No longer working with a realtor but you are free to drive by and see the property and neighborhood. application are about 10 questions and typed up in the emails they send and asking for you to wire money and they will send you the lease agreement and keys. I looked into one of the properties a bit more and found the realtor handing the sale of the property. I hope everyone has the sense to know this is a scam and there is nothing that can be done when you wire money to someone. And looking at apartments is just as discouraging I put in inquiries for 1-2 bedroom with in my budge and get a call from the property that the listing is not accurate on the rent amount. It will be 1200 on the app and 1500 when I speak to them. Just be aware if you do decide to use the app. It was a complete waste of my time.

Good Idea, Bad Exection. I think that this App has a good idea to help people find rental property, but it lacks in a lot of areas. Firstly, there is no way (that I found) to enter my exact criteria. Secondly, the criteria that I can enter, such as maximum monthly rent, seemed to be ignored as I was bombarded several times a day with apartment suggestions that were way past my price range. The worst thing was that if I “favorited” a property, somehow letters of interest, with no pricing criteria, was sent out to dozens of properties by the App. So now I am having to return calls and texts from dozens of properties that are way above my price range. Also, when it suggests “similar” properties to one I may have “favorited,” the suggestions are not even close to similar, and are in areas all over. It’s a bit over-agressive, especially when it is so inaccurate. I’ve spoken to leasing agents who were wondering why so many referrals from Zumper were not returning their calls. It is really a waste of everyone’s time. The only way I know how to stop the daily onslaught of inappropriate suggestions is to delete the App.

This is a terrible service that is full of bugs and has poor customer support. I’ve had Zumper for a few weeks now and initially thought it looked great. The design interface seemed functional so i proceeded to get the full benefits by getting the premium benefits. This is when the apps reliability halted for me. The app arbitrarily made me change my password which in turn deleted my application and credit report. When I tried to resubmit it claimed the credit company could not identify me. Yet the credit company had no difficulty locating my file when I communicated with them. I shared my response with Zumper and it has been nearly a day with still no response.

Unique finds. Trying to find a unique apartment can be difficult in a land of plain, boxy apartments. I find some smaller complexes and more unique places on this app. Would have gotten 5 stars but there’s often a lack of information and my app doesn’t always tell me “no Pets” so I have to double check on my moms app. Good thing we’re best friends! :)

Easier search. I am enjoying this app so far but it would be easier if the city was listed along with the address. I have been looking for homes in a specific area and homes are coming up in the surrounding areas to where I’m looking and I have to scroll down to the very bottom to see the city.

This app is not a scam app. I got my apartment from this app. I actually thought it was a scam but it wasn’t. Honestly the trick is don’t send money to anyone if you ddnt check the place those are the scam one they always want money before you can check But on this app zumper I checked 1st and I liked what I saw and then went ahead to payment

Nothing more than a referral scam. Zumper is nothing different than Zillow or any other listing site. That’s all they have on here is listings. Don’t pay the application fee and waste your time filling out all your info here. I did and every property I applied to I was forwarded to another site - just like Zumper - that had all the same listings and wanted me to do a separate application with a separate fee. So these sites might have one or two properties you can actually apply for through the site but this is just another rental scam in my opinion. All they do is forward you to other sites. I’m not happy at all with it. I wasted my time and money and I didn’t get anything different than I would have got on any one of the other dozen websites that do nothing more than refer you. It’s not a legit site.

Awesome app, awesome people. My experience with the Zumper team was excellent! I had a 3 day window to find a place for out of state relocation. I worked with Allison and she was fantastic. We toured a wide selection of properties and found a really great place by the end of day 2. It was evident that Allison knew her market, and she also had warm relationships with the property managers. Finding a place to live in a new city in a short timeframe is somewhat stressful, but Allison made it a smooth experience and even had me laughing.

The financial section. Everything else was decent questions when applying. Except asking for my bank account # and how much do I have in my bank account is super sketchy. Overall the whole new app is straight forward better than Zillow and Trulia, etc.. because you can instantly apply directing to the agent or homeowner. If you ask for our credit report you have all the information needed. Asking for my bank account # and $$$ is unnecessary and it leads to more hackers and it says on the fine print that Zumper will not be held responsible. So I think this app needs to be relooked at.. I applied to one of the housing here for the first time and I had to call the homeowner to tell him that we are not going to put our bank account info nor tell him unless he accepts our application. So if he sees and 95% application then oh well. We as people have the right anyway..hopefully this helps others.

DO NOT USE!! EVERY LISTING IS A SCAMMER!!. I downloaded the app by all the positive reviews...well they too must be scams! While I am sure it works fine if you are seeking an apt since all the apartment people use every means possible to rent their units...but I found every single house/townhouse listed were scams....they appear legit too! Pics of the property w/ realtor watermarks. Contact info appears legit- but NOPE! Today I spoke to a realtor directly on her TWO properties and she was super frustrated. Her listings had tenants for a year now and both listings were here.

Not well monitored. This app is riddled with scam listings. There are so many postings everyday that are so obviously scams. Also you tell it you want to search a specific city or area and then it makes you sift through listings that are 10 to 20 miles away. Nowhere near the specific area you were looking for and it gives you those distant listings as top picks instead of anything local at the top of your search. Definitely just not a fan. Much better ways to search for listings that’s much safer and you’ll be less likely to get scammed out of thousands of dollars.

Very Helpful Most of the Time. Overall I had a great experience using Zumper. But I wish there was a way to hide listings from your results and to stop getting notified about them (maybe there is a way and I just could figure it out. I kept getting new alerts or clicking on listings I already knew didn’t fit my criteria but there was no way to hide them which made it confusing sometimes. I also think having a smoke free option in the filters would be a great addition. Lastly, I know this isn’t so much the fault of Zumper, but I wish the realtors, managers, etc. that were responding to messages sent through Zumper had some kind of script or format to follow that at least had them say what their properties address or name was. I was continually receiving emails about properties that were vague and had almost no information so I had no idea what listing they were referring to. But overall, good experience and very helpful for finding an apartment.

Obnoxious. Started by showing interest for a location on Facebook, but when I tried to message the agent all the website did was spam me with the exact same email (that had zero new info, it was literally just the same basic listing over and over and over). So I downloaded the app to try and actually be able to get ahold of somebody, nope. It’s the exact same stupid process of sending a message with absolutely NO GUARANTEE that an agent is even getting your message, let alone will message you back. It’s been almost a week of trying to message locations and all I’m getting are those idiotic spam emails (2-3 A DAY) of just the same basic listing. Extremely frustrating and will never use to try and find a location again

A vast verity. Really love Zumper , I love the fact that every day, every minute, every hour there’s so many listings that are prompted to my phone in all areas! Like California or out of state.I love it! I’m quite sure I’m going to find a home of my dreams to rent and possibly own! thank you again Zumper

Credit Report Fee. Hello, I feel like my 30 dollars to pull credit report was a waste of money and inquire on my credit report as well! Most of the apartments on Zumper require you to apply on the Apartment website which means you have feel out their application and also pay a separate application fee as well! I’m feeling some type of way about this and I’m highly upset as well! There is no number to complain about this so I’m doing it on here! 😕😡🤬🤯 Very upset

Scam. I don’t know exactly how but about 30 minutes after I signed up and looked at a few apartments on zumple I’m getting cold calls from real estate agencies and emails from property managers! I level in a different time zone than I’m looking in so all last night it was nonstop calls from agencies that I messaged on zumple, waking me up. I didn’t personally send them my phone number so they must be able to access it from the app. Also, every time you interact on the app, zumple will send you an email. Why is this necessary? I know I just messaged someone, please don’t send me an email saying- good job! Furthermore, every time you message an owner of a property you just get sent links to schedule a showing, not a real person. Honestly super bummed because apple put this as an app of the day but it’s just as cruddy as every other app for housing out there.

Makes moving easier. Preparing to move across the country and have been using Zumper to look for places to live. I love that my search is saved in the app so I can easily see if new listings have been added in my preferred neighborhoods. Also love how easy it is to text my boyfriend listings right from the app!

Tons of notifications, none within parameters. I signed up for Zumper notifications and set the filters of what I wanted to be notified for. Of all the constant notifications Zumper sent me, not one fit into the parameters set in my filters. It sent me homes multiple states away from the area I selected, homes hundreds of dollars out of the price range I set, homes much much larger than the size I had opted for, homes that didn’t accept pets though I selected pet friendly only. If you’re going to offer a service, offer it correctly.

Terrible Customer service. DO NOT USE ZUMPER. I’ve been a pro member for several years and have screened nearly 100 tenants. Recently I had a couple of applicants and have not been able to access their documents. I’ve sent five emails to the customer service with no response. It’s unprofessional and makes me look bad to the owners and prospective tenants. As I write this, it has been almost 3 days and have not had a response from their customer service. Absolutely unacceptable and will not be using their service anymore. Save yourself a lot of embarrassment and headache: I highly recommend checking out other companies with better customer service.

Good app!. My husband and I search for apartments in all the apps posible that we where able to, and have to say we where lucky to find not only a good rental house, but also most of the apartments we went to see thru this app did not have brokers fee or any realtor fee. I guess that it have to do with luck

Works pretty well. Sometimes I will edit my filter options but the not ALL the results appear for the criteria I inputted . I have to load a few more time to view listings that weren’t available before . But other then that the app works great is very helpful . I wish they could guarantee a response from the poster though

From a landlord. Someone decided to write me a nasty message because they disagree with the rental amount (even though it’s priced below market), I reported the message and no one has gotten back in over a week. I sent a follow up email and still no response. I don’t have a lot of respect for businesses that allow such things to happen. Unprofessional. Update: My ad disappeared from public view weeks ago, and I sent Zumper a message to look into it with no one addressing it. I think they want me to pay in order to show it. I don’t really know! I wish Zumper never bought out Padmapper, it was fine until this buy out. From a landlord’s POV, this service is horrible. Zillow is still a little better and I’m gonna go old school and try Craigslist again. Stay away from Zumper! Try something that works where the employees respond in a timely manner!

Beware of scams. Zumper does not authenticate their listings like other home rental apps. Yes, most of their listings appear to be legitimate, but at least two of my searches had listings from scammers. I called one, for example, where the “owner” said they were out of town and couldn’t meet me in person, but I could go look at the house and had the lockbox number so I could see for myself. Another “owner” would only chat by text. Claimed he couldn’t call by phone because he was out of the country. All he needed was a $50 holding fee in advance.

I got the app for alerts. so that I can get push notifications on alerts. but the functionality is not as good as the website and I keep getting annoyed by it. For instance I can’t get rid of “suggested listings” which gives me irrelevant pushes. I can’t make decent alerts I have to use the website, thankfully the app works with alerts made from the website, but the search settings are inadequate for me. another problem is that the objects linger a long while they are no longer accepting offers. It also literally lies to me, it pushes notification check out these new items , but once I click it the list has only objects I’ve seen before

Great. I was in a huge bi d. Needed a handicap apartment cheap, I looked all ove and nothing. I found this Zumper app, added all my info to the app and one of the first places they sent me, was the place I just moved into. I couldn’t ask for more. Place I got is great and wouldn’t have found it without them. Thanks and check them out!!!

Good, Could be better. There are many things to admire about the Zumper app, the constant barrage of emails once you’ve signed up for an account is not one of them. Like, seriously, 6-10 emails a day. In some cases within 20 minutes of each other. The Algorithms to determine what gets recommended needs work. For example…furnished vs unfurnished apartments. I’m NEVER going to deviate from needing an unfurnished apartment. I have stuff. Quit sending me Furnished apartments to look at! It’s not all bad. I gave it three stars. Filter options are solid. Communication flow through to providers is efficient. Easy to use. Some tweaks to this program would put Craigslist out to pasture. Just not there yet.

Account deactivated after already sending in ID verification. I listed my property that I own for rent and I got a request to verify my ID which I did. Then immediately after my property was approved and listed, my account got deactivated. I reached out to customer service, and all I got was “you violated T&C and nothing we can do.” When I asked again what did I violate, I was told to send in my land title to prove that I own this place…like my ID and land title…why can’t you request up front and not deactivate my account for no reason and then made me contact support MANY TIMES to be told that I need to upload my land title…is this your standard way of business or just discriminate against my specific account?

Can’t see floor plans. For some reason I can’t open up floor plans. Only a small image is available that I can barely see.

found my apartment here. tons of good rentals and good prices on here, very user friendly and even shows walk score. very helpful and of course i ended up finding my apartment that i’m moving into next month.

Agent$ and realtor$ get priority listing 😡. Landlords: ZUMPER favors agent/realtor listings so if you're a private landlord trying to rent out your place, it will not be found by prospective tenants as easily...or even not at all. And, when you create your listing and post it, it will say that it is “public” and “listed” but in reality if you click through to your listing it actually says “Not Available” which means it doesn’t appear in search results.

Too slow to approve apartment listings.. I downloaded the app and verified my email before posting one of my apartments. I did the same thing on Craig’s list and FB marketplace and the apartment was rented before the Zumper add was even approved. Too slow for today’s market.

No Dark Mode anymore??!!?!. Dark mode not working iPad Pro iOS 15.. please fix it.

Latest update bad UX/UI. Your new UI is confusing. Also why did you remove the street view and google map? (If it’s there I cant see it. It’s the only features that set you apart from rental.ca. I tried to copy the address to post it in Google Map and I cant do that either. It’s really frustrating. Id want to explore the location, how long it takes for me to get from that location to my usual spots e.g. school, relatives etc. these are considerations someone looking for a place. I hope you did not change the UI for the sake of changing it. If it’s not broken, why fix it. I hope you have analytics in place to justify this decision & Im just biased because it’s not a good update. It’s very confusing!

Stupid. I hate this app. I send emails to rent a place and never get any response or get contacted back as if they never even revived my interest. Padmapper is a lot easier and quick answers.

A few annoying usability issues. When I click into a listing it’s easy to read all the information. I find it unintuitive to click the map button to return to the map. I’m always clicking the back button and it clears my search filters, which is frustrating. I also dislike that when I send a message to a listing it doesn’t allow me to manage what it says. It auto fills and I have to go through to the messages section to add more information. It auto fills a move in date also that is different in each message. After clicking out of a listing I also have to move the map for it to refresh and show the other listings again. Overall this app works but has a few usability issues.

Bad for landlord. No response shown in this app, but got alert via email. Difficult for landlord to find a window to reply messages.

people be aware It’s a scam. This isn’t even a real company you apply give your information and they don’t get back to you, I never heard of anyone in my town going with these guys no office no building to fill an application it’s a scam

Way too many bugs. The platform has way too many bugs. Listing would become unavailable for no reason and would remove it from the search engine. It was also really hard to figure out the property boosting process. Customer service team seem to be well-intentioned but are clueless on how to address a lot of the issues.

Interface needs improvement. “Read more” button often malfunctions. A “block listing” feature would be useful

Worst app. Worst app ever: you tell them you are looking for a place in NY they start bombarding you with email about available places in LA….I deleted it & unsubscribed from their mailing list.

Wrong locations, wrong results. I constantly get emails and results for 2 bedroom places in New York state, even though I searched for 3+ bedroom places in WESTERN CANADA. I did get some relevant results mixed in with the noise, but I’m not sure if that’s better or worse.

Mixed feelings about it. It’s a good app, but still sends you emails even if you opt out of subscription. Now my email is filled with rental ads that aren’t even close to what I want or need.

It keeps crashing my iPad Pro 2020. After I use the app for a while and browsing through images, it would crash my iPad and then my iPad restart. I wonder if my iPad Pro can’t handle the app how other iPad can handle it.

The best rental app out there. By far my favourite rental app I’ve used. Super easy to navigate and communicate with rental property owners and love the favourites feature for keeping track of gems. The emails they send out with new places similar to what you’re looking for are really accurate and timely too, nothing bad to say about it!

Map is terrible. Jeez who signed off this map feature? The user can’t even zoom out of the map? We like to see the general neighborhood

Disappointing. I constantly have to reset my preferences as the app is always reverting back to original settings. Too many emails and the same properties listed over and over again. Pricing almost always higher (sometimes ridiculously so) than the budget I’ve specified. Would not recommend this app.

New update is awful. The new update on the surface looks clean and cute but it’s so bad. Can’t view property as easily, overall interface and navigation is just so poor. Will likely uninstall and just use the web version and recommend anyone else to just do the same.

Horrible message system. They only send contact by email and the people interested on my listing are not receiving my reply back to them Their system don’t acknowledge and keep a history of chats, you don’t even know if people are receiving your messages

Do not waste your time.. Do not waste your time. I went through their whole process of creating an account, creating a listing, and sending government verification to be approved for my listing and then be denied and my account deactivated. Contacted support and they give no mention of what part of my listing violated any rule. So now they have my private information and I have no listing. Stay away and spend your time on a different app or website.

Terrible app. The mobile messaging is terrible. Tons of leads, 99% spam. Listing randomly pulled down without notification No way to block or filter clearly fake accounts.

Updated sucks. The new app update sucks so much. It was much better before to find places and navigate and now it sucks. It’s become like all the other horrible rental apps. I used to recommend this app like crazy but now I will never do it again

Ok. Decent app but super annoying how if I search for a specific city the results show other city just making my search take twice as long for literally no reason.

Depends?. The app itself is very nice and very user friendly. The issue I seem to face is when contacting properties. When I try to message through the app it says they are not using Zumper. Then when I try contacting directly they say the listing isn’t available. So a lot of the listings are no longer on the site and it isn’t being updated even when it shows “listed 1 day ago”. One property shows listed 2 days ago and when I contacted them, they said it was rented out 1 month ago.

Good app. Love the app, a few things could be done to make it better: - each unit should have a definite price when we tap on floorplan, instead of seeing price ranges that are not always accurate - assigned parking should not include city street parking - a section detailing what is included in the price would ensure all listings comprise this important information - another fun feature would be an in app chat, instead of receiving text messages & emails - finally for any parking not included in the rent price the fee should be indicated

Served a purpose but .... I used this app frequently in my 3 month search for an apartment and it was fine. My problem is with the number of emails I would receive daily - sometimes 10+ emails, not including the confirmation emails that follow immediately after sending an inquiry or reply to a posting. By default, every time you contact someone you are added to a list and will receive emails every day with other listings. You have to opt out of receiving them every single time. Despite that annoyance - which I largely blame myself for because I didn't notice that I could deselect the annoying emails after sending an inquiry - I found the app useful. But ... now I can't get them to stop sending 10+ emails every day even though I have changed my communication preferences to no further contact. Worse - I have started to receive emails based on my internet or Facebook history and not based on searches done with the Zumper app. It is still tracking my usage, so I am going to have to uninstall the app completely. I didn't want to do that because I only signed a short term lease so I will need to start searching for another place in a few months. Bottom line - the app does what you want it to do, but it also does what you don't want it to do. You have to decide which one of those things is more important to you.

Used to be good app.... What’s up with Zumper??? It USED to be a good app. Now they are CONSTANTLY sending me listings out of my budget, and that don’t allow pets. My profile clearly states my $$$ and pet preferences. Zumper is a waste of my data!!!!! Update: Uninstalled due to the pet issue stated above. Reinstalled several months later, deleted city preferences as we are relocating to another County. Zumper is STILL sending us ‘no pet’ listings AND the deleted city.

App is good, just not reliable. I like the lnterface, and ease of browsing rental properties. Its just not built for landlords. When we tried to publish home for rent, its forever in Pending state. never got published and dont know why :(( There is zero customer support. long way to be a reliable app.

Filters not considered. App asks you to enter your perimeters such as cost per month & pets allowed. Constantly getting alerts for apartments that are $300-$400 more than my max budget. Also get multiple alerts for “no pets” when I have clearly chosen filter to only see pets allowed apartments. Just because apt pictures look nice doesn’t mean people will miraculously come up with $400 per month or lose their pet. It’s Rather infuriating actually.

Different selection. I have found houses here not listed other places! I wish the map indicated ones that i have “favorited” to make easier when in search mode.

Just wow. I really wish that you all would’ve specified that you can only apply to the apartments that have signed up to use the Zumpers application.. I spent 30 dollars just to turn around and be redirected to apartment websites to fill out another app and pay another app fee.. this is crazy I need a refund ASAP!!! The only reason I signed up is because I can apply to a lot of properties at an affordable price. I feel hoodwinked

Scams. All the listing I've contacted on Zumper (about 20) have been sams. I'm disappointed that Zumper doesn't have a way to further check if the person listing their properties are actually the ones who own it. It's frustrating because it's a huge waste of my time to constantly weed through these scammers for Zumper. Don't waste your time with this app. You'd have better luck on Craigslist.

Prices are incorrect. I enjoyed Zumper until I realized that the prices for the apartment listings are incorrect. I noticed that on the app the apartment listings are lower, compared to the actual apartment website. It’s very discouraging when I see an apartment that I admire with a great price, then later see on their website it’s much more higher. I am not sure if it’s the app, or the property owner’s responsibility to update apartment info, but it’s very discouraging and it makes me dislike the app.

Zumper is great!. Haven’t been a member of the site/app for too long but I must say, it is extremely user friendly and has made looking for a new home quite effortless. Keep up the great work and never stop improving!

Zumper is good for the most part.... I find it a bit frustrating though because I’m searching for a dog friendly apartment and I have to keep repeatedly resetting the filters!

Listens!!. Thank you for actually listening to me when I say that I need a place that allows both dogs and cats. Some apps “try” to find places that allow pets but mostly ignore it... then I’ll fall in love with a place- only to find out later that I can’t bring my pets? Dumb. SO THANK YOU

No messages. ***Apparently I was sent an application and information from a realtor and never received it. Nice to have been able to send applications and things although I don’t agree with having to pay such a large fee for someone to do a background check on me... you want it and need it pay for it. My personal information and data doesn’t feel secure on the app either. You can’t delete your rental information. *also DO NOT provide your routing numbers. I can’t believe this is a trusted app that can easily allow your bank info to be stolen. That’s not necessary for applications. Money in the back at the moment has nothing to do with you being able to afford the apartment every month.

Scams. For some reason this app has sooooo many scam properties ads. While I was searching for a place to rent I would find one or two fraudulent ads every day and I had always reported them. I took it as a daily responsibility or a job, and the support team had always replied quickly to my report by removing the suspicious listing. I hope such scams listing are soon to not be found.

Could be better. Wish this app had a feature for 55+ communities. I’m 23 and renting and wish I didn’t have to sort through them. Also the house feature still shows apartments. Which is annoying. Maybe make it a requirement for home owners to add pics of certain things like baths and kitchens !

Great options. There are a ton of Apartments on this site. It's fairly popular. Some extremely great rental companies use zumper exclusivity. The site itself is a little difficult to navigate, but the emails giving notifications of new listings helps a ton.

For house. It’s just crazy how you can pay for an application fee and them not give you a chance so this is why I am writing something coming from a mother with a bunch of kids who is clean and credit score is fair money is not the issue The issue is people giving you the chance to rent their property that property management people don’t give you the chance ...

Love I‎t. I love how fast Zumper lets me know when something becomes available in the area I’m looking to buy in. All the garnets contact info is right there and I can even send a message through the app. It’s very helpful, quick, and easy to use! Thank you!

Unable to communicate with anyone. I have tried to get my needs for where to search to look for a new place in my same general area: but , I am being sent to places nowhere near me. I have tried to find out the problem, I first signed up in 2020 . I read a review from someone who said a man actually helped find them a beautiful place & managed to negotiate deals. So disappointed & frustrated

Messages are impossible to keep track of. When you message a listing, it is impossible to find what you messaged in the app so your messages to and from the people that do respond quickly get buried in your email inbox. This app is hot garbage. There are plenty of listings with the people listing them openly interpreting what constitutes a good description. And things as simple as available now may mean that they will have a unit mid way through next month.

Pricing is far off for rent. I like this app because it did show apartments in my area that I hadn’t seen. However, the cost amount to rent that is listed compared to what is actually being asked for from some of the complexes is a $200 to $300 difference monthly. Overall, I’d just like to see accurate number when looking for a place to live.

Don’t Trust. I’m looking for an home or apartment to rent. Downloaded a few apps and this one has so much false information on rentals. It seems, I could be wrong, but they may be getting rentals from other sights and decreasing the rent. I am also getting spam emails saying they are out of state and want to rent from me for a lower price. I can tell they got my email address from Zumper. I deleted the app! I don’t recommend this app.

Disappointed. My fiancé and I are looking for a place to rent. We found many great places but it is impossible to contact with someone. They send an email with the requisite and then no more answers. We left a hundred of messages and they never answer. I don’t know how their business works. The app is great but if nobody answers, it becomes useless. Garno is the real state that never answer.

Trustworthy. When there is I suspect property they get on it right away and let me know. I didn’t know what a big problem that was in the market and I’m so glad that they are on top of it.

Fraud. Every property that I have looked into on this site is a scam. Most of the houses are listed for rent at a cheap price, when in fact the property is actually for sale, or if it is for rent it is at a much higher rate. The agent listed has no knowledge about the property and the one that responses back through email is always out of state (the reason they can’t show the property) on some religious mission but wants you to send all of your information to them

Precise. I didn’t know this app from before. I started using it few weeks ago and 5 other different apps. But this is the one that I liked the most. Great deals and always inside of my preferences. Thank you guys! Great job!

Best service provider with the pictures and a price. I feel they are the most amazing and Honest company and in California or United States. I will tell everyone be they look for apartment they need to get on the app.

Places. You could make it so people could pick the place where they want to live in the state they picked and have them be able to pick if they want to live in a house or apartment not mixing them up and let people choose where in the city instead of it put them almost in a another state or country

Best Apartment Finder tool in existence. Zumper is simply the best way to find an apartment. I found my last apartment through Zumper, and am currently searching again after a move. I highly recommend using Zumper to find your apartment.

No Distance Option. I downloaded as we’re looking for something in our area for $1100 or less and not one rental shows up. So I tried to broaden our search by going further out (maybe 10, 20, 30 miles) from our current residence and there’s no option to select distance or range of where you want to look. Now I’m reading other reviews and it looks like it’s hard to get a hold of someone to inquire about a property so I’m just going to delete the app.

Zumper. Thanks for the opportunity to review the website, the biggest problem is that nobody will get back to me when I message them for a request for a viewing of the property. There has been homes that have gone by that I couldn’t even get a response. Not a good system!

Easy to use and trustworthy app!. Zumper makes it super easy to find apartments for rent! I also like this app because it’s easy to message and communicate with landlords. Definitely my favorite app to use when looking for apts

New inventory for vacation. Just got the new update and was surprised by the new short term options. Haven’t tried yet but would absolutely try it out for upcoming travel needs!

Apple Should Ban Zumper. Looking for a whole house to rent due to upstairs neighbors excessive noise and drug use in our current apartment. 95% of all houses in our area listed on Zumper are scams. Zumper team does a pathetic job of vetting listing agents. I’m curious about how many people have been ripped off for hundreds or thousands of dollars by these scammers because Zumper gives them unfettered access to their system to run their scams? Goodbye Zumper! Oh, and I’m reporting this to Apple and the authorities.

Found my new home. Found my new home on Zumper. Filtered notifications so I only received things that I was Interested in. I was looking for a 3 bedroom ended up finding a 4 bedroom for great price. Transitioning from NY to FL. So I couldn't go and talk to people. Zumper helped out a lot.

Asks for your preferences, and then gives you everything you aren’t looking for. I have input my preferences for housing in my area, ideally to generate a small, affordable list that I can work with. This app however, apparently disregards your input. My mailbox is being flooded with offers that are out of my budget or don’t allow dogs. I find this rather frustrating and a waste of time. Probably going to delete this app and resume my search through any other form of media.

It’s 90% there, but the 10% is painful. Great app in many many ways. But there are small bugs and missing features that make it really hard to conduct a quality search: 1. You can’t hide properties you have already seen and ruled out, you must always scroll around them. 2. At some zoom levels, properties with multiple units are marked as if you haven’t seen them, but zoom in and you have. 3. The filters don’t allow you to sort of either or (either garage parking OR assigned parking is fine—you can’t do that). These seem like small things, but they add up, and make it really MUCH harder to conduct a search over the course of several weeks if you’re searching for the perfect fit.

On it!. Zumper is on it! Unlike some other apps, I’ve never seen a listing that was old and already rented, they stay up to date with current listings and remove ones which have been taken off the market. Nice work Zumper, thank you!

Almost 5 stars. The filters are great for when I am searching but the “suggested” properties emailed to me are definitely not looking at my filters so most emails go right in the trash. Would be nice to receive emails that match what I am looking for.

Best apartment app thus far. I’ve been searching for months on other apps and they all share the same information or apartments. This is the first app I’ve come across that shows me places within my budget that I probably wouldn’t find anywhere else!

Cannot delete account. I have tried to delete my account per the instructions but then I’m told to verify my account. How can I verify the account to delete it? Sounds counterproductive to me.

The go to app for anyone who is searching for their next home. It’s organized, neat platform makes any serious mover breathe a fresh air of relief. Honestly I have never found such an app like this one!

Beware of scams!!. Although there are legitimate properties listed there are also so many scams. Way too many. Never deal with a “landlord” that claims to be out of state and is unable to show the property. Never agree to send a deposit until you have a signed lease agreement. It’s desperate times for renters nowadays but keep your common sense. Good luck to all! To Zumper: What is being done about the infestation of scammers on your site and using your app?

A lot of options. I haven’t found a place yet but since I’ve been on multiple apps this one by far has given me most options on where I want to be locally, doesn’t just include apartments but private rooms and duplex etc

App needs work. This app has a great concept BUT when trying to map certain areas it fails, there’s no draw ability so the map just takes what ever general area around the area you zoomed and lists homes for rent that way. It also says there are 88 rentals but when you click that number ‘No results’ appears, this happens every time I click any number shown over an area I’m interested in. Would be a great app if they fixed these issues!

Great.. This app made it possible to survey a lot of places at once. During any apartment search, that’s essential. The option to message a list of similar places was also super helpful.
