Edits: Video Editor App Reviews

I’m so impressed!. I am so impressed with Instagram’s new editing app. It’s so nice to have video generation be as clear as it is, and have it not be something that you have to pay for. This is fantastic! Keep this going! I am absolutely thrilled with this new addition. When I’ve tried video generation in the past, either it’s really good but it has a cap of how much you can use it or, it’s completely free however, the people in the video have three arms or three legs; which isn’t realistic at all. This is free and it’s realistic Looking. I love it! I absolutely love this. Keep polishing this part in the app where maybe the video generation can go even longer and act as its own edit….

Audio distortions; features don’t work. I think I spent a lot of time getting angry over the fact that the audio has a ton of distortion issue as when you export, it doesn’t match the previews. I have high-pitched voices in my videos for some reason . The download quality is horrific, regardless of the export settings and not only can you not fade in or fade out music but every time it cuts off it just cuts off and then the app just closes down. I’ve deleted the app. I’ve reinstalled it. It’s updated. The audio just works the worst . I keep having to delete my drafts and my post because the previews are not identical to what I’m seeing after they’re published. I’m on a new phone so I don’t get it.

DO NOT USE THIS IF ITS A FINAL DRAFT. This app needs improvements x10. It’s easy to use but be careful when doing voice overs, even if my app was updated. I made the error of using the voice option to talk in my video. I don’t know how I managed to lock my draft but now I’m not able to export it. I can’t Listen to it or play it at all. Either it got frustrated with how many times I kept talking and deleting and adding Voice memo wise. I would just say for warning this is great to edit, but it does have a lot of bugs still and I unfortunately I’m not able to export my video Even though this was my final draft that I was submitting for something that had a timeframe on. Or just be smart and edit your video and then duplicate it and keep a draft behind just in case. It’s very weird because I attempted to do voice overs And deleted them. But now, even though they’re deleted, it still looks like they’re still there with nothing to delete.

Needs Manual Save Button. This app crashes too frequently. For someone who works as fast as I do. It needs a manual save button so that I can slow down and save. Because currently the only way to save at the speed that I create is to export my video before it’s done I exported it at 30 seconds at a time. I also end up having to use the TikTok app to help me get some of the edits done that I want. This needs a manual SAVE button because I work way too fast for the intuitive or the auto save or the AI save. It’s not quick enough and I have been irritated and angered multiple times. IT’S FRUSTRATING BECAUSE THE APP IS INTUITIVE AND IT WORKS REALLY WELL ESPECIALLY FOR PEOPLE WHO JUST KIND OF PICK THINGS UP AND ESPECIALLY IF YOU GREW UP IN THE 2000S ERA OF OPEN UP A APP AND FIGURE IT OUT But yeah, until this has a manual save button it’s gonna have one star and the moment it does I’ll come back and update it to five but until there’s a manual save button one star. Because I just took an hour editing a video yes just moving along thinking it was intuitive saving and I hit undo and undid all the work that I did so yeah until that manual button is there like as a Option. 1 star.

Good effects, Godawful performance. It’s unfortunate how poor this app functions because it has great text, cuts silences for you, and awesome effects. However, it constantly glitches and when you’re trying to save a project, it’ll shift ALL the added sound effect and text back by a few milliseconds. Which is so annoying when you’re working on a project and have to go back to fix everything. It freezes up often when adding multiple clips, sometimes when you’re hitting “undo” it’ll only undo the text you’re adding even when you want to undo a clip you just deleted. Sometimes you select all the clips you want for a new project, it NEVER loads and you’ll have to exit and redo that. When exiting while it’s glitching, it doesn’t save your edits and you have to do it all over again. Also when editing a clip, if you click play it’ll restart all the way at the beginning of the video over and over again instead of where you want it to play… it’s unavoidable when it starts doing this. I love how easy this app is to use and the text options, but it has too many bugs. Also lots of the sound effects are corny and would never be used in a reel.

This made me so mad. Was just trying to edit a simple video and this app messed up so much, first I couldn’t play the video, had to constantly change the fps between 30 and 60 just to be able to play it back in the editor. Then while adding footage using my camera, the entire time line got messed up (it usually adds it to the beginning and I move it to the end, that time all text and stickers got moved but nothing else). And while it was messed up like the text not showing when it should then showing when it shouldn’t, I deleted the text because it was messed up and it got stuck to the videoo, there’s now a random word in my video I can’t remove (trying to fix that rn) the amount of times I almost rage quit is insane.

Cap cut alternative.. It’s good if you’ve never used an editing app it’s terrible if you’ve used any other editing app. A lot of the videos don’t save the way you edited them, which is kind of the whole point of editing a video and I will say on the positive side. Everything is free, which is the whole reason people stopped use CapCut anyways, because CapCut is obviously a better editing app, but since they paywall everything it’s like unusable now, so it is a good alternative to that but other than that, it’s not good at all. The whole point of editing is making sure the video looks how you edited it, but it doesn’t ever turn out that way. Pretty bad editing experience, though moving clips around as a nightmare, including audio. Key frames are barely functional. So far it’s just not good, but I’m sure it’ll get better.

Missing features I need. Overall the app is excellent, however as someone who has built their reels off of Live Photos and relied on them for so much of my content, to see the lack of any Live Photo support is just shocking to me, especially since Instagram supports them out of the box. If I’m wrong and there is support I haven’t been able to discern how to turn it on. All of my Live Photos are still and they aren’t even marked as Live Photos in the library when searching for media to add. Additionally (but less critical), it would be incredibly useful to be able to see if one’s photos are portrait or landscape at a glance when searching for media (this goes for Instagram too!). Finally, it would seem logical that my drafts from Instagram would be available in Edits to import, but alas there is no cross functionality there. I’d love to see this feature as it would be extremely useful to import existing drafts into edits for…further edits. Overall an excellent start, but without at least Live Photo support it is useless for my needs. The other suggestions would be the cherry on top.

Has a long way to go. This app def has some ways to go when it comes to speed of editing. I have never had this much of a headache editing videos before. Between the sound playback feature not working (I have full, high speed WiFi) and the a delay on playing back the actual video or completely freezing is so frustrating. If I didn’t have so much done in the hour and 40 minutes this has taken me (I’m a pretty quick editor and this is a long time for me) I would start over in a different app, but I keep hoping whatever bug this is will suddenly work… I would stick to your regular editing app if you’re looking to switch — at least for the time being until this is better established. Also, there’s no way to sync your videos to the best of the music, not that I’ve found and I searched quite thoroughly. Hopefully you have better luck than me.

Deletes content. Freezes.. I film, edit, and post all the time for my job. The app has trouble saving edits when the video is a bit longer at first. I find myself redoing the same edits over and over. I also was filming a lot in the app so I didn’t have to go back and upload and so many of my edits are frozen. I can’t even access them. Do not film in the app. You will loose content. That’s what I found so appealing about it in the first place, so it’s a bit inconvenient and disappointing. And if the video is a bit too long at first, cut it down prior to uploading because your edits will keep getting frozen. It’s just a lot of extra steps to be able to do the app. I used the app when it first came out and lost tons of content and I was just forgiving about it because it was a new app, but I’m still going through the same issues. A final thing is I was filming in the app and then I filmed too much content - the app doesn’t let you save all of your content until you edit it down to 10 minutes. (Note- I have a new updated iPhone so it shouldn’t be the device I’m using)

Add controls to audio effects to control quantity and intensity. Edits has incorporated many functions frequently and the app although for a basic edition fulfills its function, I have seen how it improves frequently, I would recommend many things and I know that the team takes it into account since many editors internationally have the same needs. Controls could be added to the voice effects in order to be able to apply at the same time in off the intensity of it, in the video option you can incorporate speed curves or a personalized graphic and thus have more editing possibilities, also the option of being able to add key frames to the other elements in the timeline to control the animations, input and output such as images or other video clips and also to effects and be able to customize the transitions

Really Good; A Few Bugs. Edits is easy to use with lots of helpful tools. One of the best video editing apps I've tried. There are a couple of bugs, however. For instance, the "overlayed" part of a video I was editing didn't save to my camera roll. The audio saved perfectly fine, but the video portion was missing. If bugs such as this get fixed, and the developers continue to add more features, it will easily become the best video editor on the App Store. Instagram has never been afraid to try new features, which made it what it is today. Notes didn't stick, but stories and reels have changed the app completely. I hope Edits has a similar approach. All my work arounds worked out!!. I just used Edits for the first time and I’m pretty sure it saved me two hours of editing. I normally use CapCut. There is so much more intuitive in here it feels like someone jumped in my head and rewired all my editing hacks to be faster, more efficient and easier. It’s little things like remembering the last font I used or the ability to download just bits of music at a time, the transcript feature while recording. The fact that it doesn’t exit out of the gallery when I go grab something from somewhere else… I could go on, just know that a lot of what you’ve been looking for that you didn’t know you need is here!

Wish it worked. I was so excited to learn about this app because I use Instagram to post a lot of my edited videos and have been searching for a new editing app to use as my usual one is so old now. But after trying to use it for the past three days I’m so sad that it’s not working. I don’t know if my iPad is just not “new” enough for the app to 100% work on but it’s so glitchy and too frustrating to use. First the app doesn’t load anything at all on wifi, it only works somewhat without being connected which is weird. Once I’m able to work on something and add overlays, if I try to play the video to see my progress, sometimes all my overlays just disappear or they don’t go away at all when I need them too. And if I want to leave my project, pressing the ‘X’ at the top left corner does absolutely nothing, which means I have to completely close the app everytime I need to leave my project, and I have no idea if my progress is being saved when I do that, so far it has been. Then the options just sometimes aren’t there! I swear I had to close out the app two or three times before I could finally find the ‘effects’ option. I wish I could use the app since it’s connected right to my saved audios on my insta and it seems like it would be easy to figure out but all the glitches make it too time consuming and annoying and I’m pretty sure it would take me forever to get any projects done. I’ve tried deleting the app three times now and checking for software updates, restarting my iPad two or three times and I don’t think it’s a me problem at this point. Really upset I can’t use this app and wish there was something I could do.

Best app for IG Creators. I rarely write reviews, but this app honestly deserves it. As someone who creates and posts content almost daily, I’ve gone through dozens of editing apps — most of them either limit you behind paywalls or hit you with ads every few minutes. This one is completely free, no subscriptions, no hidden upgrades, and somehow still offers better tools than most paid apps. The UI is clean and easy to learn, and it doesn’t crash or lag when working with longer clips. The transitions are smooth, the text and sticker options are solid, and I was surprised by how good the color grading and filters are. Everything exports in high quality, and there are no watermarks, which is huge. It’s rare to find something this useful with no strings attached. If you’re making content for Instagram, this app is a no-brainer.

Forget it 0 Stars!. For some reason it drains my battery like crazy. It’s like I’m playing Roblox. Second it bugs out all the time! It’ll be working fine then everything freezes. As I’m editing right now, the app keeps freezing up when I try to add text to my vids. It seems to work seamlessly for a couple mins before it just stops. It’s an otherwise great app but it’s extremely unstable. I just saw it was recently updated 4 days ago, but im using it today and it’s actually worse than other times. As long as it can run smoothly it’s great but it’s been a while now. The reason I keep using it is because it does give more engagement because you use the app. I’ll be happy to write another review once things get sorted out. Edit: Now I rate 1 star because ever since I added that text to my video, for some reason the app don’t work and doesn’t allow me to export my videos. EDIT: So I removed the text from the video and now all of a sudden the app works like normal😭 like yo it doesn’t even say anything bad it’s literally “Freestyle Design” I just wanna share my video and for some reason, even when I move the text to a different part of the video it’ll actually export a small percentage till, what I assume is, the part where it has to start “exporting” the section of where the text is, and just stop there and say something went wrong. WHAT WENT WRONG IS WHAT I WANNA KNOW!!! is it a trigger words? Is it not able to process text anymore? I don’t understand. I could make the video without text but that wouldn’t be my idea, which may or may not give me the views I need for my content, either way it’s annoying.

Glitchy, randomly ruins/removes your video's audio. I have never left an app review in my over a decade of being an iPhone user but this had to be said. I decided to try out the Edits app to edit my latest short form video and the experience has been so frustrating. I've edited on several different platforms over the years, my latest favorite being Capcut but with all of their recent pushes towards paying for every useful tool I thought I should try something new. This app has so much potential but that is completely ruined by its glitches. What should have been a simple edit turned into an hour plus ordeal as I kept having to go back and try to replace clips whose audio randomly got taken out mid-clip for no apparent reason, only to export the video and find that a new random portion of the video had its audio cut out/removed. Knowing that this app is backed by Instagram and therefore Meta, I know you have the budget, technology, and staff to fix this and make a much more functional app. Please do better.

Too many glitches. Whenever I try to split or trim a clip to make it shorter, the editor jumps back to the beginning of the video. This happens even when I’m several minutes into a recording, which makes editing extremely frustrating. There’s also no reliable autosave. I have to keep the app open for changes to save, and I’ve lost significant progress just by closing the app. Please add a true autosave feature, or at least a visible save indicator at the top (similar to how online spreadsheets show “Saving…” or “Saved”) so users know their work is safe. For speed controls, there should be an option to keep the original voice tone when speeding up a clip, not just the high-pitched version. The speed slider itself is also far too sensitive, moving from 1x to something like 1.7x requires extreme precision. This needs better control or step-based increments. With captions and text, there should be an “Apply to all” option. Repeating the same formatting across clips is unnecessarily time-consuming. Overall, the app has good output quality, but the editing experience needs serious refinement. Please also don’t lock core features behind a paywall or ads, constant monetization is exactly why I left CapCut, and doing the same here would ruin the app.

Surprisingly Good for initial release. To start with the pros. Edits has probably the smoothest free timeline editor I’ve tried. It feels pretty precise. Like instagram its filters and video are great. Every other feature seems very polished for what is there. Now for the critiques. Right now it feels like a very limited but smooth version of CapCut (that finally has dark mode!) MY BIGGEST GRIPE is definitely the lack of keyframes. I believe that just adding this simple feature would take Edits from a pretty good timeline editor to a HEAVY HITTER against a CapCut. I wish you could upload your own fonts as you can only use provided fonts. While the feature set seems pretty good, I feel it lacks any unique features. It kinda just “gets the job done” I feel that if they were to add features that set it apart from any other editor that could definitely encourage people to ditch their old editors to jump to this new one. Overall I feel that Edits has a LOT of great potential. If they act quick and decisive adding key features like keyframes, custom fonts, and more unique features that set it apart from any other editor, Edits could be an INCEDIBLE and preferred editor for any phone editor. The more this app is being updated the more errors there is.. Recorded reel, saved it under a project names. Edited it and added music. Saved it exit out to find the clip I needed to add. Went back in my whole clips that was 1min long now only shows the first 19second of my record. What happens to the rest of my records. All my edits, recording, added music. Nothing. Under the project just shows my first 19 second of the record. Stop updating the apps, stop fixing things that isn’t broken. If you needed work, maybe developed a new better apps. The more yall, play with these apps the worst it gets. The same goes for my IG apps. The more yall, mess with it , the more yall make it worst. The original apps from years ago, never had any problem. So, stop fixing what isn’t broken. Go invent something new. No one is reinventing a wheel on a bike or a car. When Elon reinvest the wheel to his new dumpster truck. Guess what, that wheel needs fixing. Human had perfected the wheel, leave it alone. Go find yourself a new and better project.

Still in Beta but looking forward to future. Was looking forward to an integrated video editing app for Instagram. Trying it out on my personal account before I start using it for our business account and there’s still some things that need to be worked on. For example, the cut out feature when you shoot in front of green screen doesn’t seem to work yet. It did a pretty good job of removing the green screen from my original footage and shows up in the preview on the app correctly, but when you export the video, your green screen footage suddenly disappears. You can still hear the audio from your green screen clip though. There are other options out there they give you a lot more transitions between clips, but I’m sure that should improve in this app overtime. Looking forward to what they can do with this app, but it still isn’t a replacement for anything that you’re used to.

Honest review. I have been using CapCut for years, but thought id try edits in case CapCut gets removed again. A few things I don’t like: 1. I can’t add all of my video parts at once. I record on my phone, then add to the app. If i add them all at once, they will never load. I can, however add a few at a time. But this is a lot less convenient. In CapCut, I can upload them all at once. 2. For voiceovers there is no option to clean up the sound and you can hear every single tiny noise, which is very unpleasant to hear. Once i figured out those two things, I decided I will not be using this app. Hopefully some improvements will change my opinion. As of now, I will continue using CapCut.

Fantastic editor. For anyone who has put together videos using just the Instagram app in their phone, this app feels like a genuine godsend. It’s so robust and has SO many options for editing that I never knew I needed. It is still quite easy to put together quick videos in Instagram itself, but this app has really opened a lot of doors for me. One thing that I do wish might be improved in future updates is that you get some sort of numeric guide regarding your text sizing. The sizer does not change itself from clip to clip, which is helpful, but I would still like to know how many pixels/percentage big my text is so that I don’t make editing errors if I’m having to do several things at once and get out of the text box. Otherwise, fantastic job and thank you so much for providing this for free.

Good app, still needs refinement. As a content creator I have used quite a few video editing apps. I know this is a new app so I am hoping it will improve with time. I like that it is geared towards IG and allows you to add IG music while editing along with some effects but it is still a little glitchy. The Closed Captioning needs work. CC text overlaps itself in the app but IG doesn’t give the option to add the CC later in stories when video is exported from Edits. When doing voiceovers I don’t like that if I change the speed of clip it cuts off the voiceover at the same spot. These should be able to be edited independently like they are in other editing apps. I have also had problems with a video I’m editing locking up permanently so that I have to start completely over. I rooting for this app but it still needs work.

suggestions. you guys should introduce ways that we can apply transitions to our texts I mean the transitions that we are applying currently don't have any duration I want to control the duration and I want options like CapCut has which allows you to choose an intro transition and an auto transition currently have to split the text into to make both transitions and there are other features that are only available in CapCut that I don't have in Edits something like the curvature of the text I can't curve it and I feel like there are less filter and effects option in Edits than there is in CapCut also sometimes my files I mean my edit entirely goes out the things I have done are forgotten somehow when I press undo like everything just gets removed and then I can't redo it why is it like that I'm using an iPhone 14 Pro Max it's a very heavy device it still can't handle it fix this please

A Half-Baked Attempt: Instagram’s ‘Edit’ App Falls Flat. Two stars for effort. As someone with 25 years in web and UI design and extensive experience with various editing apps, I was excited to try Instagram’s new ‘Edit’ app. It turned out to be a massive disappointment. The only slightly redeeming feature is easy access to Instagram music, but everything else falls flat. The app prioritizes pointless features like tracking ideas and inspiration—something nobody needs from a video editor—while completely neglecting essential tools like reversing clips or applying common filters, transitions, and effects. It claims to offer high-quality footage and 4K exports without watermarks, but that’s a bare minimum expectation. The core functionality is severely lacking; it feels like a rushed, underdeveloped product that’s nowhere near ready for prime time. If Instagram wants to compete with heavyweights like CapCut, they need to bring something innovative to the table. Right now, it’s just a half-baked imitation that fails to deliver anything new or worthwhile. If you’re serious about video editing, stick to what you know works. Instagram should focus on improving their main app and put developers’ time into fixing existing bugs instead of wasting resources on a half-hearted attempt to compete

Very capable app that has potential. I think the main benefit is that this app is free to use and doesn’t come with a boatload of costly add-ons to purchase, but it’s not a one stop shop for the way I edit. The ability to add actual music as you can in the app trending audio clips makes this app better than CapCut or most competitors. There’s plenty of simple filters but no effects option so you’ll still have to do that in-app. No option to do key framing and when you share to Instagram directly from the app, there’s no more options to edit, just to post. I find myself still having to use other apps to do my editing if I want to do key framing or I just download the video I’ve created and then edit it further in the Instagram app before posting. The app isn’t bad by any means, but it doesn’t reduce the creative process unless you’re editing simple videos to post. I’m sure there will be some further updates in the future that will close most gaps, but still worth using compared to creating a reel from beginning to end in the Instagram app.

I actually like this app. I have been having a good time using this app but the past few videos i have been running into crazy lag, i was just making a video last night and all of a sudden it just stop playing in the editing section. It will download and play upon export but its basically making it to where i can’t see the edits as i make them because its frozen. I’ve had this issue with the text boxes before where they disappear as i edit them but now it just seems to be crashing and I’ve deleted the app and reinstalled and everything. No luck. Hopefully a patch comes soon

Finally, an app from Instagram that’s not trying to be TikTok… oh wait. Okay Instagram, I see what you did here — you looked at CapCut, whispered “me too please”, and dropped Edits like a surprise party no one asked for but kinda needed. To be fair, it’s actually… good. Surprisingly smooth, no crash (yet), and the tools are way better than I expected. The green screen works, the AI cutouts don’t butcher my face (mostly), and I managed to make a reel that didn’t look like it was edited in 2009. Would I say it’s a game-changer? Not yet. But would I keep using it instead of juggling 3 other apps just to post one video? Absolutely. Just one small request: dear developers, please keep it simple. Don’t bury the good stuff under 12 taps like you do in Instagram proper. Let this one breathe, okay? P.S. The “Made with Edits” tag is cute, but let’s not turn it into another clout metric. In short: clean, promising, refreshingly not annoying — and that, in 2025, is high praise.

literally better than any other phone editing app!!!!!!Everybody needs this I'm so happy I found it!. I was trying to film transitions on CapCut and you can't add onto a transition with filming the next part it has to be pre filmed- and every other app is like that too. and then they're all annoying with audios and you have to screen record whatever song you want and export it from a video to use it- this amazing beautiful, perfect app just let you use the Instagram sounds and it lets you film transitions like normal!! (I can't film them on Instagram cause I don't have enough screen time and I'm not allowed to have tiktok)

Great AI, but Extremely Buggy and Limited for Serious Work. This app has great AI tools and some unique features that CapCut doesn’t have, but it’s incredibly buggy and unreliable. I’ve reset my phone, deleted and reinstalled the app, duplicated projects, and even started over many times—but the same issues keep happening. Main bugs: Audio becomes delayed by a few seconds after clicking play. Display window breaks randomly, making editing impossible. I often can’t select clips or overlays properly; sometimes I can only select them when I don’t click directly on them. Overlays and assets randomly disappear. Mask tool freezes the frame instead of masking (exports look fine, but editing is broken). Keyframes disappear or stop working randomly. App slows down at random times, buffers endlessly, and sometimes crashes completely. It’s very frustrating—one 20-second clip took me 2.5 hours to edit because of these bugs. I use this app for professional projects, but it’s becoming impossible to rely on. Feature requests: Freeze frame Exposure and contrast control per clip Better audio control (volume higher than max) Speed ramping Motion blur Stabilization More sound effects and overlays CapCut has many of these features, and this app could easily be better if it was more stable and had these tools. I’ve reported these issues multiple times in-app, but it seems the reports don’t go through—so I’m posting here to make sure it’s seen. Please fix these issues. I really want to keep using this app, but it needs major stability and feature updates.

CRASHES RANDOMLY. This app will randomly fail to save your work, which is honestly terrifying. You can spend hours or even days building a project exit the app come back and suddenly all of your elements, captions and text are missing and unusable. What makes it worse is that you can still see the elements but they won’t appear on the actual screen or export properly forcing you to start from scratch. I’ve lost incredible amount of times. I’ve restarted my phone. Reset the app. Updated the app. Cleared storage. Checked Wi-Fi and data. Everything people suggested online. in fact, this issue happened after I followed all of those trouble shooting steps. at this point, the app is simply unreliable and unusable. Do not use it for editing. It has major unresolved problems.

Lag, Lag, and More Lag. I’ve turned off my WiFi, restarted my phone, closed all other apps running, checked the storage on my phone…the whole nine. Nothing makes this app less laggy. I’m editing a 3 minute video and all I’ve done is slice some pauses out and added 2 GIPHS. The sound on the first 3 seconds of my video won’t play back, and every time I make one tiny adjustment to the video, it’s like it gets stuck buffering and won’t play back as normal for me to make further edits. I’m terrified what it’s going to do once I add in closed captions, which is another flaw in the app. If I add a word it missed when editing the CC, it no longer tracks with the words. I’ve had to add a text box in place of the missing words instead. I spent 4 hours yesterday trying to finalize this video, and it seems like I may be spending a lot more time today trying to finalize it if I stick to editing on this app. Lots of improvements to be made.

Fantastic Editing Experience, Minor Export Issue. I’ve used the New Edits app several times now and overall, I’m impressed with its potential. The editing interface is intuitive and user-friendly, making it easy to put together great-looking videos. However, recently I’ve run into an issue where exporting a video gets stuck at 7% and doesn’t progress. I’ve tried a variety of troubleshooting steps, but so far, nothing has resolved it. I understand new apps often have some kinks to work out, and I’m hopeful this will be addressed soon. Once the bugs are ironed out, I believe this could become one of the best mobile editing tools available!

Amazing App BUT…. This app is genius. I couldn’t conceive of making a reel on my phone before this editing app came out. Amazing! But PLEASE allow us to PREVIEW OUR WORK!! In my first video I created text and placed it high in the frame. How was I supposed to know it would be gray when it was posted rather than full white like in the cut? Edits should NOT have let me place type where it would be grayed out - it looks so sloppy. It would be so helpful to see it in the context of all of the other junk Instagram sticks on the video AFTER posting. Also - it would be VERY helpful to have precise tools for text size. And to be able to hear audio when you’re editing so that you can hear where the audio and video line up. Too much guess work. That said - this is a great tool.

Useful app but needs improvements. This app is very useful and has great user experience. There is a bug since a couple of versions ago, I realized the issue is related to stickers and specially when I keyframe stickers. If I add sticker to my timeline and add some keyframe to it, next time I re-open the app and the project, nothing plays at all, neither video nor audio, everything freezes. And my only trick right now is to duplicate that project (that causes reset sticker’s keyframes and I have to re-keyframe it) to be able to use/edit my project again. Nice app but needs updates. I really like the app especially coming from CapCut which is paid and full of ads. Of course CapCut has a ton more options than Edits, but for this app being free it’s pretty good! Now I know Edits is new so it’s to be expected that there are some glitches and bugs in the beginning. But it’s bugging out nonstop. I can’t even finish editing my video because the app shuts down every time I try to make an edit. It also sometimes doesn’t play the audio on what I’m editing, or simply freezes the video being edited. There are a few other glitches I’ve come across but those are the main ones.

Unbelievable. Over the past 9 years, I’ve used almost 20 diffent video making apps looking for one with the most features, ease of use and affordability. Most of them are great for any 2 of these features, but never have all 3. I’m not sure how long this app has been out, but I recently found it- and it has all 3 features. Being a ‘free’ app basically makes it a unicorn among apps these days, but add the features including an amazing selection of audio special effects, video and audio transition selections, overlaying, cutout, and reversing- just to name a few- creates a collection of tools you’re not going to find anywhere else - not even on apps where you pay high yearly subscription charges. Other VM apps will claim to be the total package- but they all fall short in comparison . Save yourself some time-,this is by far top of the line and the best VM app currently available.

Great but HUGE LAG!. So, I’ve edited a few videos so for for reels and love that it connects to IG for all the songs on there to pair with my videos and has great font features for overlay of text. However, I like to pair my clips down into even shorter versions to put all my clips together seamlessly and it’s very LAGGY when I’m going back and forth and trying to rewatch certain parts of the video and it’s pretty frustrating and delaying my editing time to be honest. If there’s an updater that can be down to make this quicker, would truly appreciate it. Until then, I may use InShot or something else to edit quicker.

too many glitches.. The auto save feature doesn’t work after the initial edits have been made. I did voiceover and captions after I put the sequence together and went to return to my project and they weren’t there anymore. It’s really frustrating when you’re putting in work and nothing is being saved. Also buttons are delayed like the voiceover button. I also wish that audio could go past the duration of the video. I was doing voiceover and then it just caught off when the video ended. With CapCut that doesn’t happen it just keeps going and it makes it easier to go back and edit. So I tried giving Edits a chance but unless you’re doing a quick lil video with simple audio I wouldn’t suggest using this app until they make some major improvements.

Slow with more involved projects. This app has the potential to be an amazing on-the-go editing app. You can do quite a bit with it especially for social media content. However even with the latest iPhone 16 Pro Max - 1 TB, this app is just… SO. SLOW. It’s buffering is a nightmare. Brand new phone. 4 projects in. And I can’t even edit anything without heating my phone and it stalling for 2-3 minutes straight when I make one simple edit. It’s really frustrating when I’m just trying to get a video done but I often have to leave the project and go back into it just for it all happen again. Don’t even get me started on when you go back into the project, everything you aligned (overlays, audio, text) often gets misaligned and completely not where it originally was. This is very tedious and I truly hope you guys find a way to fix this and offer better performance all around. I don’t usually reviews anywhere at all but I couldn’t help but leave this one.

Reels created in edits don’t format correctly to instagram.. When creating content in edits the viewing format is not the same as Instagram, so when creating things in edits it enlarges the content seemingly zooming in and cutting off the borders of the content. I have researched how to correct it and is probably a multiple setting correction, or maybe, not but as a small business owner I don’t have time to research the multiple changes meta employs on a regular basis to look into to transfer content to instagram. Also the edit feature in instagram does not allow my reels to be longer as does edits. Probably because I am a newer content creating account but this seems incongruent. There are Many things meta has to fix for editing continuity. Also as a content creator there is word you can get Your reels suggested more on facebook but that option seemingly has been done away with or again not available for me yet because of being a “small” account. Hopefully these things can be rectified. This is more of a critique on meta as a whole Interms of content creation but is also relevant to Edits.

BEST editing app but glitches. This app is hands down the best mobile editing app! The functionality is great and the ability to sync music/sounds to IG is ideal. HOWEVER, there are so many glitches and issues that I sadly can’t rely on it to work. The amount of times I’ve spent hours building a project and then a glitch occurs that makes me have to start over (like not saving edits, voiceover not playing sound, etc) is extremely frustrating 😭 please fix! I want to be able to use this app with confidence.

I will give more stars when the bugs are fixed. I thought this was great at first. Turns out, you’ll spend HOURS editing and creating and then your video won’t export. Or it’ll freeze. Or it’ll start to export and then give you an error message at the end. My hard work is being held captive by this stupid app. These bugs are insane AND I can’t get in touch with support. Everything time I shake to report a problem, the report never submits. It just loads forever and then disappears. I can’t find any other place to report technical issues. This is absurd. So I’ve headed to the reviews instead—this is me submitting my report. These are pretty serious bugs to have released the app, especially when this is many creators’ livelihood, and I’m not the only one who has these issues. Stop holding my work hostage, now I have to re-edit the entire thing and I don’t have time for that.

Great, but needs more.. I’ve been playing with the app for the last few days and posted many videos. So far I love it! But there’s a few things that are missing that I hope get added in the future. Firstly, I would love to save my projects in the cloud! Sometimes I edit footage on more than one device and being able to pick up my edits on my iPad to do detail work and then come back to my phone to finish the project would be great! It would also be nice to have object tracking, i.e. pinning stickers or text to an object on the screen and have it track with that object. These things are already possible in other apps like Apple’s Clips app or CapCut. Having these features within Edits would make this the killer app for me.

Fix your bugs. I understand the app is fairly new, but the glitches are so frustrating that it makes me flock back to CapCut whenever it gets too much. I’m sick and tired of the bug where captions aren’t animated properly via preset when you edit them. I’m also tired of the glitch where the editing preview screen will be in a spot where I can’t view it— and it can’t be fixed unless I close the project and open it again. This isn’t even to mention how minimal the features are. There isn’t any aspect ratio options beyond TikTok size, barely any audio editing features, you can’t even make several layers of overlays, and no greenscreen. If you wanted to make an app to compete with CapCut, you can’t just put the least amount of effort into the making your competing app.

People need apps like these to make content, and possibly make revenue, which helps companies make revenue, so it genius, especially on iPhone. The visuals are majestic, and stunning. The names rolls off the tongue. The app is easy to use, and way more fun, it has no headaches like some other apps. CapCut was a good app to make videos, but that’s in the past. Edits is far superior. It’s more useful, more efficient, effective, and fun. Matter of fact, ain’t nobody gonna use any other video editing app, they don’t compare on iPhone. Sick of editing on IG, even on Edits. I don’t understand what it is about Instagram but they really can’t make an app that actually works as it should. I was excited for edits because I thought it might solve the horrible issues I face every time I want to post a reel, and while it does solve most issues, I still find myself wasting an endless amount of time going back and doing everything I’ve already done 3x all over again because Instagram decides what I want for me and changes everything every time I make any minor adjustment. Not only is the intuitive experience far from what I want, it is also buggy and unreliable. I wish a company like meta would step up its game and finally make a product that would actually make me feel confident in investing my time into creating content. For now, I’ll just use tik tok because at least I know my time invested isn’t constantly wasted.

A clip stabiliser would help.. Hi, the app is good, can’t lie. It’s easier to use than most of the mobile video editing apps that exist. One thing, the object background removal is quite good. However, if you could add a video stabilising tool, it would help a lot. It’s going to make the clips look more smooth and aid for easy transitions. No iPad app. Why does instagram hate iPad apps? I’ve had to switch to capcut since my iPad is my main driver for getting work done. Really frustrating, please add iPad support.

Adjustments no option to apply all media. One important feature is missing. When you adjust the brightness, saturation etc there is no option to apply it to all media. It’s so painful to do this every single clip. Until I have this feature I will have to use Splice which is very effective.

Still need some improvement. Easy to use, more music options, effects and transitions are easy to choose, just need more options when adjusting contrast, saturation etc to allow and select all clips rather than individually doing each one. This is just based on a quick use for this mornings reel.

Useless.. This app is useless. All I can do is upload and splice the footage and ad sound which you can already do in Instagram. And there are so many more features to use editing inside the Instagram app than there is using this edits app. Unless they’re rolling out features in phases to different users and I just haven’t got a single one of them yet, there’s really no point in having this app on my phone as it just takes up space.

Very Raw App at This Stage. I definitely see the big potential especially on the price tag side compared to CapCut. But the app lacks a lot of features that many users want to see when they switch to alternative. Instead of focusing on adding a notes feature and other inspo stuff, they should have focused on optimising and getting the app ready for heavy use by users who expect more from it. Being an original app from Meta I did expect much more. Like time curves, more fonts for captions, ability to add shadow to captions, etc. Another very important thing for me is the app lacks user action optimisation. When you click add clip and select a video from your camera roll, edit it, and then if you need to add another clip from the same spot in you camera roll the app doesn’t automatically open your camera roll in the same spot, so you will have to scroll through everything again to find the clip.

You split a silence, you delete it, and every single caption shifts into the wrong place. You then spend 10 minutes fixing text instead of editing your video. Brilliant. Oh, and the music? You get 60 or 90 seconds of a song. That’s it. No manual trim, no custom length. You work around your edit to fit their arbitrary cutoffs. TikTok does this right. CapCut does this right. Two apps built by a Chinese company that apparently hired engineers who watched a video editor before shipping one. META has billions of dollars, thousands of developers, and a CEO who wants to be taken seriously as a tech visionary - and they cannot ship a caption layer that moves with the clip. Fix the subtitles. Fix the music length. Or keep watching creators go back to CapCut

Stop updates. You guys have to stop useless updates. You changed this app now it’s an instagram for reels not an editing app. I made a mistake in my reel now I have no access to the draft on the app to correct my mistake. You are deploying updates without the due diligence and testing. Role it back to an editor again!!

Can be an alternative to capcut?. When i heard about such app i was so happy, finally something useful from instagram, but the features it offers are not that eye catching, only some basics. If instagram plan to get more users with more creative and consistent activity, it should add more features as much as possible to a level that can be compared with editing app like CapCut which dominates mobile content editing.

Music Limit. This app was good But any chance to increase the music limit from 1:30 to at least 3 minutes? Hence I’m giving 4 stars only.

The lyric transcription is so so bad. I can’t even really believe how bad this program is. Compared to ChatGPT or even in InShot lyric transcription it literally gets every single word wrong. And the way to edit the words half the time when I correct it and split the phrases and get it lined up some of the phrases are hidden like not visible and so then I try to add them to the previous phrase and split them back apart so that they are visible and it doesn’t work or I’ll have to add extra words so that it tricks them into showing it. This is really unacceptable. If a feature doesn’t work at all, then you can’t actually have a button for it in the app and prioritize content with your font or what not. This is really a fail Instagram. For all the money that Meta is making, they need to fix this.

It works well until it doesn’t.. If you take too long editing a video, it will start glitching out and everything has a painful delay in its action. If you have patience, it’s not the worst thing ever, but today was the first time that I completely lost a half hour of time making a detailed video. It’s gone. I’m irate.

Not able to export. Great tool, but I sent a message a few weeks ago about the error message I am getting while trying to export. I have tried many solutions but I’m still not able to export any content I create.

Not worth. It stuck in between, I have to re edit the whole thing, also if I am using multiple ID’s, this app doesn’t show songs saved in other ID’s

Data disappeared. I created 30 drafts, and I never logged out, or changed my phone, but all of them disappeared suddenly, i think there is a bug in the app. Thankyou

Needs a desktop version. I love using edits but editing on my phone is not my favourite. But it is set up really well for anyone that wants to be consistent with Instagram reels. I like how integrated it is with Instagram.

Doesn’t work so annoying. You spend 30 minutes on a video and then it lags and you lose everything. Templates are not available on instagram anymore so you have to pray that it will work with this app.

Projects gone. I wanted to love this app and I did! Used it for many projects and would record in it, using the teleprompter. Yesterday I opened the app and all my projects were gone. Even after creating news ones that same day. Fix your issues Edits. You can do better.

Freezes Constantly. At first, I loved this app. But now all my projects are frozen and I can’t continue editing them. It’s super frustrating because I’d like to finish my projects to upload them. I’d hate to start over in them because I had already put so much work into them. Hopefully this gets fixed soon. I looked on Reddit and apparently this is a common occurrence. I hope this gets fixed soon, otherwise I’ll be looking for a better app to use for my video editing.

Poorly Optimized. The editing tools aren’t anything fancy or graphically intensive, but something as simple as having a line of animated (bouncing) text paired with a generic video affect (zoom in and back out) cause playback stuttering that made it impossible to make sure the text lines matched up with the song/beat. Honestly, there’s nothing in this app that you can’t already do within IG so i’m not sure what the point of this app is, not to mention IG doesn’t stutter and lag sooooo.

Not a Proper CapCut Replacement. So here’s the thing. Many websites said this app was the next CapCut, and whether that’s what the devs intended or not, i dont know. What i do know is that it is quite disappointing. Just as a raw video editor, it lacks heavily in features compared to CapCut or VN. You can’t blur the background, or properly crop videos to a certain aspect ratio, etc, all of which you can do in CapCut or VN. So for right now, it’s lacking quite a bit, and since it doesn’t look like CapCut’s going anywhere, I’d stick with them.

Something you should add. Hello I’ve never written a review before but I have one thing you should add and it’s where you can switch the vid from up and down to side to side because I would love to switch it to up and down but ya everything else is absolutely perfect 👌🏻

Voiceover troubles. I really want to keep using this app since it is so easy to post to Instagram and download. However the app needs to change how it processes voiceovers. When I add voices to my videos, it often add sounds and weird buzzes where the voiceover transition. It’s frustrating and changes each time I download trying to fix it. Also text moves on images and it’s difficult to cut captions and edit them. If that was fixed it would be 5/5

Is a joke!. From Meta, you'd expect anything but one of the worst apps out there. On one hand, there's CapCut, which was designed years ago and does everything and more, while this app is little more useful than Microsoft Paint. Meta, being one of the 'big' players in social media, should have started moderating video comments like TikTok did years ago—maybe it should have taken some inspiration from them when it comes to video editing apps too. Barely useful. Disappointing.

It’s great, but…. The fact that I cannot change, the aspect ratio extremely bothers me. And I do not like how if I have a photo or video that is more than 9:16 inches it cross it and doesn’t let me restore the uncropped parts. Also, where are the in and out animations lack of effects, no transition tab. It’s still a great app, but there’s a lot that needs to be done if it wants to be number one.

Great edits failures in exporting. I downloaded this because I wanted an easier way to put together my reels. The features are great! It is easy and I love the transition options. However- I go to download and export my newly made reel to my phone and it stops as 62% every time. Not sure if others are having this issue- it is not a storage issue. I have updated the app, but still nothing. I would love to share the reels I make on this app, but as of right now- that is impossible. Hopefully this can be addressed.

Issue with Crashing and Missing Audio in Exported Videos. Dear Edit Team, I hope this message finds you well. I’m writing to report an issue I’ve encountered while using your app. After installing Edit and linking it to one of my Instagram accounts, I noticed that the Instagram feed stops working properly — it crashes repeatedly, which eventually forces me to sign out and uninstall the app. Just to clarify, I have three Instagram accounts, but the crashing only happens with the one that is connected to Edit. In addition, there’s a major problem with exporting videos: when I export a video using Edit, the final output has no sound at all. This makes the app nearly useless for me, as audio is an essential part of my content. I hope you can address these issues in a future update. Thank you for your time and support. Needs more. No keyframes?? Auto captions also don’t update with font changes. It’s fine for basic editing but I need key frames and a lot more fonts to make this my go to app over CapCut. I need the keyframes so I can do my in and out transitions. Also auto captions if I wanna change the font of one phrase, it doesn’t automatically apply to all of the auto captions which is super annoying. Edits won’t be my go to app for reels as of now.

Meh. Starting out pretty bad- can’t export to phone so you can only share to insta or fb, though it claims to be able to export without a watermark. Can’t blend overlaid tracks which kinda defeats the purpose of overlaying to begin with. You also can’t overlay a video and put it back to the main track or vice versa, you can only hit the “overlay” button and import a video but that’s it it will be stuck on that track for eternity until you delete it. Effects are very basic as are the transitions. Not really impressed but I will re-review the app in the future to see if there are any improvements.

Seamless. Just starting to use this and it makes instagram editing so seamless. Interface is familiar and clean. Music and audio edits completely integrated. Uploads, tags and descriptions all fast and accurate. Unfortunately, I don’t have a lot of time to dedicate to video software and so far Edits has made the process much faster.

First day out. I just downloaded yesterday and I try it today, it has a lot of things to fix, the app move my audio from my video, so the video act first and my voice goes like 2 seconds after, it doesn’t have the opción to cut the video size which is an important tool for us creators, and it’s annoying that I can not just add the small part of the video that I want to use, I have to take all the video and then split it this is a waist of time

Has potential but. My project is frozen. I click play and nothing happens. Ive exited the app, restarted it and nothing. Im not sure what kind of bug it is or what but it makes it completely useless. The only solution seems to be that I have to completely start all over and thats very frustrating after spending so much time editing it to perfection only for it to be useless. And even if I start all over again having that issue possibly happen again makes me not want to use this app at all.

This is good. Finally I found an editing app for my videos! Everyone should use this editing app because it is good. The ai voices sound good to and all of them are free. My favorite thing is everything on the app is free and there is no stuff that costs money! This editing app is so much better than CapCut! Awful, buggy, everyone is lying. Okay I expected the reviews to be MUCH worse when I decided to write one. This app is god awful in its current state. Features are overly simple. Tons of bugs. Choose 4k to export and videos are exporting blurry. Voiceover only goes on as long as the video, making it extremely difficult to get all your thoughts out and edit them. When people say it’s great and what not, they have to be paid to say that or just fake reviews because this app is actually so bad

Don’t waste your time. This app is ridiculously buggy for being a new app from one of the biggest online companies… the text is constantly getting messed up either not showing up until export ( now you have 10 layers you didn’t see in the app on your exported video ) or it just doesn’t work at all. Wasted so much time editing reels on this app just to export them and they’re trash and have to be deleted. Can’t stress this enough, don’t even bother with this app!!

Great editing application. Great application for editing with a high quality download. Only comment I think they could add some extra features like more transitions and maybe customizable speeds instead of doing it manually. If they work on these small little features it would definitely be my daily editing app!

Meh, it's alright. Edits is an app that shows promise but is overall just okay. Pros: - Good UI, better than capcut - Fast to use - Free Cons: - There's exporting problems and missing features. Only lets you export in 9:16, no low quality exporting options, & when I exported a video with multiple overlays, the final version only showed one, I even tried exporting again and that failed as well. Also you can't control the bitrate when exporting. - Lack of features, theres missing stuff that capcut has such as cropping & masking. There's likely more but I didn't do much poking around to find out. TLDR: This is basically a slightly better iMovie. It has the foundation to be good but it needs quite a few updates to actually compete with capcut and be considered "The" Free Mobile editing app. It feels like Meta only thought of instagram reels users when making this.

First Export Stuck. Super frustrated because I love the idea of this app instead of a monthly Capcut subscription, and it works as easily as Capcut BUT after spending 2 hours editing a wonderful video, (11GB) it gets stuck at 86% on export and I cannot get it saved. I have scoured Google and Instagram help support page, restarted app, tried different export settings, and of course we cannot get in touch with actual humans at Instagram so ONE STAR review for the sake of easy editing but man I now have to repeat the edits in Capcut and will definitely not be using this unless someone is able to help me fix the issue.

Best video editing add for easy maintenance content creators. If you’re not looking to make flashy edits and just want to put clips together this is the perfect video editing app. You can record directly in the project so the clips stay organized and you don’t have to search everywhere for them!!!! I’ve been wanting something like this for the past 3 years

Needs some improvements. It’s a great easy to use app. Yet it still needs some improvements. It would be great if there was a preview of the video footage before including in the video so we can see if its the right footage. Also, the app lags and doesn’t play if the video has too many clips like 90+ (i faced this with some of my videos)

Glitches. Overall, I am enjoying the app. I have noticed that the app will glitch. For example-when I zoom in on a photo, there’s a delay. In some cases, it will show the frame before the one I’m working on. I also have noticed that the playback froze, but the play head kept moving. During these glitches, I also noticed my phone was getting warmer-telling me the app was struggling. I just installed an update, so I hope some of these issues will be fixed.

Still a little buggy. I’m not liking this app so far. I don’t notice much of a difference between it and the editor within Instagram. I don’t like the closed captioning options—they’re better in the Instagram app. Some videos export fine, yet others fail, even though they’re shorter. I even tried restarting my phone and reinstalling the app, and the video won’t even export in HD.

As lot of work remains. Its a good start, but its light years away from the main competitors. Lacks of many simple options like changing clips from the main track to overlay and viceversa. The audio track will move from its place if you change the length of the clip, and although you can change the volume of your audio tracks, they’ll remain on max volume when you export. Hope they fix it soon and fill it with many more editing options and effects!

So many limitations. Honestly I want to like this app but I found myself limited in so many ways 1. Overlay limits, there are only so many seconds you can have an overlay active for, I found myself duplicating the overlay so many times to get the length I wanted. Why is this limited? 2. I couldn’t find a way to edit the captions as a whole, I don’t want to click each segment to change fonts and colors, let me do it on the whole video. How is it that instagrams caption system is so much better, this should function the same as instagram 3. No cover image creation. Come on this is another basic feature of instagram 4. Had to re-record audio so many times because the app had a hard time picking up my voice, I’d record 3 segments just fine and then all of a sudden the 4th segment doesn’t pick up my voice at all?

Not complete, needs work. There are very key important features missing, such as: Being able to “apply all” color edits to every clips rather than manually editing each clip. Cloud storage for projects. Needs a reliable voiceover caption feature. Many times if you make a single edit to the auto captions, the entire voiceover text is totally messed up or jumbled. There’s no way to fix that once it happens. Advanced editing tools are nonexistent. I like the fact that you can add Instagram music inside the Edits app, but anything before that, it just makes so much more sense to use CapCut and save yourself a lot of hassle. Hopefully Edits will improve as time goes on because it would be very helpful to have it all in one place.

Love this. Used to use a lot of other editing softwares, but nothing is as easy as this. Truly the best and love that I can use it without clogging up my drafts. My one suggestion is to allow a folder or star/flag or some way to know what videos I’m still in the editing process on and which ones I’ve posted because my folder is getting clogged up but I don’t want to delete any.

Account…. From the reviews and edits that I have seen and read it seems like a great editing app! As someone who’s CapCut is broken and hasn’t been fixing for four months no matter what I was very excited! The reason why this is three stars is that you have to have an instagram account to use it. Now trust me I wouldn’t expect anything else but it was disappointing seeing as I have no interest in getting an instagram account! I would sign up but now it’s not loading…

Just need more features. It’s really good and smooth for instagram but the only problem is lack of features on release day. There’s no basic thing like key frames, or more cinematic filters like green orange, 70s, 80s vibes. Please add all the basic features like cap cut. This app got so much potential but the update is really slow. There’s no new stuff, I think I’ve been using this for a month now.

What Happened To animate. I love this app because it used to allow me to animate my pictures now that feature is gone for some reason and I’m not sure what happened. It’s still a good app to make reels. I can add music and effects, but it’d be really nice to be able to have that animate button back.

Update Voice Effects. Update voice effects, for example it would be very great if creators had a feature to slide a bar to measure how much they wanted their voice to be effected. For helium as an example, some creators would like to still here there voice but just want it to be slightly more high pitched!

Amazing app !!. This is so helpful for editing,it has so many cool features that helps edit,and it has song ideas that can help you pick a sound for you reel, also I love the ai feature that makes a photo turn into a mini video ! I recommend this app so much if you like editing on insta !!!🫶🏼

App Crashed , Everything Gone. I been using the app for about a week now and I been editing and keeping videos on this platform so I was ready to schedule and post everything on Instagram later, since you always have to directly post from this app, but for some reason my video edits weren't saving and all of a sudden the app crashes and all my edited reels were gone 😢 I would personally like to see a feature where when we are going to post we can save it as a draft or schedule from the ig edit menu

Amazing!!. I’ve used CapCut & others for years now & I have to say I’m pretty darn impressed with how smooth Edits works with your camera roll & the fact that it’s synced with FB & IG 🔥🔥I’m sure there will be other tools & features added along the way but for the release I must say Standing Ovation 👏👏

I love it so far but it's missing something. Great app I'm loving it. Buttttt it needs to allow for creating stickers using your own pictures and stuff. I have personal peices of artwork I've made that would do amazing as a sticker but I can't do thqt without the option to do so please add this feature!

Could be great… If it wouldn’t crash. I was excited to use it, but editing longer reels makes it bug out and stop working (as in it can’t play the video when you press play in edits). If you undo what you did to cause it to stop working (like speeding up a clip or making a cut) it works again, but it doesn’t allow you to make that change you want no matter what… unless you want to make a new project. Great features but it’s still new and I was sad to have wasted my time half way through my edits before realizing it was a problem.

Great idea, super buggy. Y’all need to fix the audio/video alignment issue! If I make a single video that is over 2 minutes long, and involves switching between front and selfie cameras, the video and audio get wayyyyy out of sync!!! It’s horrible. This app has ruined several moments that I have captured using it due to this… Fix that. Lots of features need fixing too… super buggy and glitchy. Yes mine is update and I am running on a top of the line iPhone 15 ProMax with extra memory.

Excited. As a millenial that knows from A-Z in media and medical billing I am enjoying this new app. Even threads reminded me of tumblr back in the days. Also now on instagram calls you can generate and ai background based on your words. Since I speak 9 dialects of Arabic I type it in Oxford English terminology and it makes the image even more expressive. Sharing is caring so share with everyone about this.

Easy to use. Really loving this so far! I’m not looking to do anything complicated, but this is so much easier than editing Reels in the Instagram app. My one complaint is it seems to be having issues generating captions the past couple of days? Hopefully this will get fixed.

App is buggy since last update. Since the last update the app has been really buggy. Sometimes when I load the app all my videos are gone and I can’t create new videos. Videos that are saved I can no longer export(it stays at 10% and crashes ) and the same videos I can’t duplicate and will randomly have edits that are missing or mis configured. Also when recreating the same buggy videos I can’t export those videos either. So I just have content locked into a singular app that I can’t post not save as a video

Mixed bag. Every time I use this app it's a mixed bag. When I add a track, the video never plays while trying to select which part of song I want to go with video and try to sync so I am constantly picking the section of song. Accepting. Returning to edit screen to do playback and then remove track to try again. Very frustrating iphone16e. And app is updated.

Great app, but needs work. The fluidity of the app is great and has some awesome features, but I have been running into glitches with playback. If you use the animate feature and try to edit the length of a clip, it won’t play at all. I would also like to be able to import audio from my files. Some more effects and also variations in the Ai animation would be awesome as well.

I been excited about this app dropping because I like to do everything myself when it comes to the content I post on my instagram this app is simple to use and very user friendly I highly recommend it 10/10 on the rating I would give you more stars but the limit is 5 ❤️🔥🔥s/o to the developers and instagram

MY DREAM APP. i’ve been a short form video creator for a while, and this is the app that i have been dreaming of since i have started making short form content. only thing i think this app is missing, is to post videos to instagram from the edits app itself. i really want this to happen because it will make it so much easier to upload content when inspiration strikes.

Not bad at all …. I dunno why so many people are complaining … this editor is actually not half bad, especially compared to subscription model counterparts. A couple suggestions for future updates — 1) Keyframes are buggy currently 2) ability to set a global clip duration for photos added to timeline 3) ability to manually enter a # on the keyboard to set clip duration individually 4) Speed ramping 5) control the speed of effects such “steady in” — these are way too fast and there’s no way to slow it down **One bug issue I’d like to note - when exporting a video that sos not allow audio to be attached, once re-paired with the video on Instagram there is a slight mismatch with cuts made in the editor and the audio**

Pretty Good Features. I actually like this. Was able to do the preview first. I love the HD setting. It really makes my videos pop! Makes them better quality. There’s some neat features that I like and the fact that it posts directly to IG and Facebook. I have also used it on other platforms because of the quality videos I can make. I’ll continue to use it.

Loving it so far. I work for several companies and creating content is my way to work, so we are trying it and so far we are happy with it, just a tip or suggestion, would be great if you guys as a teleprompter feature with 4k 24 option, for most content creators would help. 🙏🏽

What Edits needs.. I really think this app has potential, however it is very limited currently. I know it’s in the “invite only” faze until the 30th, but I would like to see: more effects added Allow me to add multiple effects to video add in new effects to the app (make more diverse and more creativity options) Add in “reverse” to put a clip in “rewind” essentially. Fix the music not transferring official audio to IG when posting. I do really like the green screen! It is the best green screen competitor to Tik Tok that I’ve seen! I will have to experiment more with it on this app. Thank you for the invite, I hope we get more features added on official release day! (My rating will go up if this is the case)
