DISSIDIA DUELLUM FINAL FANTASY Comments & Reviews 2026
Stop giving us dei content and don’t be too greedy. Ngl this is a pay to win games, whale dominate in every lobby, even if they support your game in the big way, without casual as your fan base, any of your game will flop eventually, so learn from your mistake, countless many times, you have an excellent IP but what you did with it is abysmal, don’t focus heavy on the earning, you want to keep your game healthy, still looking forward for pc version and shift your focus to skin instead, that way people can play the game without being overpowered but love your game and support you for it
Game play/ cameras. This game is absolutely amazing. I love the graphics the gameplay the mechanics and the system. The only thing I’m seeming to have trouble with is the camera angling at times is really slow. Maybe there’s a setting feature I haven’t seen and I wish that you could attack on command. Rather than the auto attack or have a feature that turns set off and in addition, I wish there was a way to move faster. Great game I’m loving it. I hope it doesn’t get removed.
Great Fun. Love the game so far; I just have a couple of things to say. - Earning coins isn’t the easiest; not every reward gives you the game’s main currency for obtaining new skills. It’s very beginner friendly as the start but afterwards you’ll probably consider buying coins to try and pull for more abilities or enhance your own (understandable, but not the F2P aspect some people would prefer as it essentially makes this a Pay to Win type of game) - Older phones may notice the energy usage drop fairly quickly - Single player missions per character are fine, but there aren’t too-many of them and with practice/skill you should clear them quickly. ( I am currently Silver 4 and I still don’t understand how to get the Job Medals despite me starting a couple of days ago) Overall, I reallly like this game and wish it was on something other than mobile… sometimes my phone needs a break
All star fan. I’ve been a fan of final fantasy since VII hit PlayStation in 97’ and obviously Final Fantasy has grown into so much more since those days. I was an avid opera omnia player and was so upset to see the game shut down. But once I heard this game was releasing I jumped on it ASAP…. SOOOO it’s nothing like opera omnia, but if you are familiar with the dissidia series as a whole it’s pretty much a blend of all dissidia with a new modern aesthetic. So if your a diehard fan that likes 3v3 pvevp battles and is hardcore fan of final fantasy or just want to learn more about the series itself, this games for you
Decent game. All the 1 star reviews are Karens complaining about it having a soft release on Monday to get it installed on your phone and do the updates, but complaining they couldn’t play it till Tuesday night, not sure if they’ve ever played a new release on a mobile game but it’s always been able to be downloaded the day prior to its actual release, same with pre-ordering a video game on a console, you can purchase it but can’t play it till a specific date, just a bunch of clueless people…. However, as far as the game itself goes, it’s not bad, it’s pretty basic as is and is decent enough to pass some time, very 1 dimensional, go into 3v3 arena, fight, win/lose, upgrade, do it again, outside of that, there’s not much going on, which is why I only gave it 4 stars, and the character selection is pretty small, looking forward to seeing new stuff come out, otherwise still pretty fun.
Actually good game. Im worried about what I’ll encounter in higher ranks.. (This review will only go over gameplay, I will not mention any gacha or story.) Im a fan of the combat in this game, it’s easy to understand and the whole purifying crystals thing is a cool thing. I didn’t quite understand the moba aspect though. Roles are also easy to understand. Theres a lot of ways you can go with building a character in this game. the UR ability’s in this game are made quite well and they have lots of diversity. But, there’s some concerns I have. First, on the FFDD database, the levels for abilities can go to some absurd number like 130+ or something. This could be a little overwhelming especially in late ranks because fights could go down to who has the most level up materials. Also, to get these abilities leveled up, you have to pull copies, a lot of copies. This is fine for N, R, and maybe even SR abilities, but when we get to UR this can be a little problematic. You would have to pull 30+ of one UR to get the ability to max level. Mind you, Theres like 40 UR’s in this game with the realease of more characters comming out next month. But I will take it with a grain of salt. The game is still new so idk how frequently URs will be given to players. The only way right now is to pull them. GREAT GAME THOUGH I recommend giving it a try if you’re a fan of final fantasy or if u and your friends are looking for an easy game to play!
No story mode or Farm Quests?!. This game is very odd, it doesn't have a story mode and what little story they decided to make for this game is in the free portion of the first "season pass". which ends in about 3 weeks, so its apparently only for a limited time?? So you HAVE to play PVP (which is also the only game mode) in order to get that tiny drop of character interaction. in comparison EVERY OTHER SE gacha has a story mode + PVP + Events + Daily Farm Quests. So this game is quite lacking in substance, plus the gacha system is terrible in this game, the roster in the trailer is what we currently have to pull from BUT they also put those alt costumes of the characters alongside them in the banner so if you pull one, you'll just be getting the same character but in a different outfit. i don't believe theres much difference in kit between versions of characters which wouldn't matter anyway since you get to change out their kit with abilities you pull from the Ability gacha. It really just seems like all the money went into designing the models and renders and music because those are all very well made for a mobile game. this game does not make me want to repeatedly engage with it like other games before it. FF Dissidia deserves better.
Could be better. The game is interesting and very competitive. So far enjoyable but I can see how it could get boring after a few days. My main issue with it is that it’s rather clunky. The controls feel a bit weird for the fast paced battles, the target auto lock needs some work. It’s frustrating to throw an ability to plain air and the target is just next to you. Camera follow needs some work too. Also, it is extremely annoying but like why is there a small screen loading after pressing any single button on the menu? There’s a loading time for navigation through characters, abilities and the store? That’s horrible. I’ll give it a chance because it’s a new game but I hope devs work on these
Ruined by pay to win. Gameplay and concept is phenomenal. It’s a shame that this great game idea was released as nothing more than a money leeching tool. There is no way to be competitive without spending. You won’t lose because of skill, you will lose because one person on the other team has stats that are unobtainable for a free to play player. I played quite a bit today and matches that were evenly matched were fun, and then you run into someone who is literally nearly invulnerable and one hit kills you and wipes your team. Want to improve your skills? Go to the gacha. Got an awesome skill but not the right character for it? Go to the gacha. Want to roll better bonus stats on your character? Go to the gacha. Played 3 matches too quickly? Sorry your “crystal slots” are full. Wait for them to clear up or spend some money. No way to put in time to grind for skills for free.
Great!! but……. This is a dream come true!!! Any entry into the Dissidia series is a gift and there is a lot of positives to the game but also with that a lot of cons….. the gameplay is great (with a controller) the roster is great the visuals and artworks are amazing but the abilities and drawing mechanic is so so it is a matcha style system that really gets ya at times character abilities are impossible to get at times and I personally am still missing the last two abilities for day one characters…. And I’ve been playing since the game dropped. The roster needs the villains to finally appear also they are mainstays on the Disssidia franchise and they are yet to be seen in this entry and were like 2-3 months in the games life…… also the story needs to be more then just seasonal snippets. And the main protagonist’s from each ff entry aren’t here but some are substituted with other allies from the series instead of in addition to… (Bartz, Squall, Tidus) and some are just straight up missing…. shantoto, Ystola…. Additionally the game needs more modes once you get your six crystals you need to wait to open them or pay to immediately open them…. Give us a solo story or something more to engage us in this world. But the game is great just a few gripes.
Solo Battles/A.I.. Don’t get me wrong I am a big Final Fantasy fan, loved brave exvius and omni’s opera but when it comes to this game it’s almost straight up impossible to grind out the “challenges”. I understand now that it’s supposed to be difficult but this is just straight up ridiculous you’re relying on fate and luck to complete half of these let alone “get 32 kills and win”. How am I supposed to do that or anyone in this matter when 1. my own Ai teammates kill 75% faster than me because the scale is so far up ahead of me that I can’t do damage, 2. there’s no assist mechanic? i’m doing all the damage on the little grunts they come in and scoop it and it doesn’t count for me at all, 3. the enemy Ai can sneeze on me and my character catches the cold like it’s the 1700’s and dies immediately, 4. your own Ai teammates literally will not go for the boss at all and when they do they die immediately from going in solo and getting a 3v1 because the enemy Ai knows how to stay together but not your own??? Anyways I understand this only came out 3-4 months ago but this is the “great Square Enix” we’re talking about the budget is beyond my comprehension and this is something that was being made and during the final review everyone said “Yup! this is exactly how it should be 👍” sorry for the rant but come on.
PvP Gatcha, Fun to Play if you Pay. I love any title under the name Final Fantasy, have been a big fan since FFIV, but a purely PvP based system with locked stats and super abilities that can only be unlocked through weeks of grinding or the swipe of a credit card is always a bad idea without another game mode to balance it out. There either needs to be a fair balance implication to help people that can’t afford to drop $100 a week on a mobile game to keep up with card swipers on a ranked system or they need to add a co-op PvE element to give people something to grind to help them get currency instead of beating their head against a literal pay-wall in PvP. Game is still fun to play if you enjoy the characters and lore, just be prepared to lose a lot unless you can afford to pay to keep up.
Losing points and Pay to Win. The point issue I have is made worse by how people can pay to win. People can pay to join a monthly pass that gives them more items or they can pay to draw characters or skills. Skills don't get stronger if you keep drawing the same one but you do get growth eggs for duplicates. You can then use those eggs to increase the level and power of your skills. This makes losing points so much worse cause you could go against someone that just spent a ton of money and you get destroyed so fast. I absolutely hate multiplayer games or games that have multiplayer where when you lose you lose points. You could get matched with teammates that have a bad connection or don't know how to play and you get penalized for it. It takes all the fun out of the game. Lost my first match and when I saw this immediately stopped and deleted the game. Plus square has such a bad track record with their free to play games they are basically begging people to not put money into their games or play them with how often and fast they shut them down.
Why though?. I played DFFOO from launch to close and was thrilled to find out this was coming. I love the costumes, was hopeful there would be more characters, but after playing it for 30 minutes I am already bored. I have no interest in a game where I get paired up with 2 random people and go against 3 other random people. Give me a game I can play by myself. Give me a game with strategy and challenges like DFFOO. This just feels like a nothing hack-and-slash that you don’t actually have to DO anything. A better use of resources would be an animal crossing style game where you can bring in your favorite ff characters to live in your little town or whatever. Do that instead, because I couldn’t be less interested in a hack and slash game that I HAVE to play with strangers.
Fun game some issues. It’s a fun game and you can play competitively with little money but some issues like bugs that aren’t being fixed and UR guarantees that aren’t accurate, and support taking 3 days to respond and asking for the same info everytime when there’s an issue without ever resolving the issue isn’t cool. The banners also feel really greedy atm and they need to add more ways to get growth eggs and character tickets. I really enjoy the combat and moves and outfits you can get but the lack of support and lack of bug fixes is not good.
I’ll give it less than a year. They just come up with smth that maybe…. Just maybe will be a fun fast paced action collecting pvp style title. It’s smth I don’t really want….. and I am not sorry. It’s nostalgia bait and I fell into it and just dropped the game after a couple rounds. unless it’s a turn based strategy rpg, and if you know just like record keeper, they should of copied and pasted all those weapons to collect from each franchise of final fantasy to give them ultimates, costumes to boost stats, turn based strategy adventure for each of the final fantasy map, free character events for weapons or costumes to collect and with modern graphics instead of 2D. I’m just upset square, I miss those brain busting, long intended grind of leveling up, and exploration of past games. Just a bit of square, mixed with now modern PHONE (star rail, fate, star savior) type rpg, but with a bunch of quality of life costumes and weapons that give you more Ultimates and stats for our favorite characters, with pvp, show off any of our favorite final fantasy character since ther are 100s, and some auto play feature for longer grind events will be sure to give you and a team of great people to stick around for years! I wish I had the ability to make a game like that, Do you? Please square just look into it. I will always be a fan!
Super fun, with a few problems.. Honestly, I’m having a blast playing this game. The Good: I like how you can just keep queuing up and playing without any stamina system holding you back, you can genuinely just play who you like because everyone is pretty strong, and the free to play & light spender experience seems pretty solid! Teamwork and strategy seems to be a lot more important than paying to win which is fantastic. The Bad: This game is genuinely not really meant to be played on smartphones. The quality of life for mobile is just terrible, and it’s very obvious that the game is meant to be played with a controller because the second I swapped to one, it felt like I was on an entirely different playing field. Additionally, this game eats up your phone battery and overheats it like crazy, so it is quite unoptimized. I hope SquareEnix quickly decides to port the game over on PC’s and consoles. Lastly, I think after you see the boss spawn animations for the first time, it should just auto skip for everyone. This animation interrupts the flow of the game heavily, and it even animation cancels your attacks, leaving you vulnerable afterwards. Additional Notes: To everyone leaving the 1* reviews because they couldn’t play, it’s very typical for Japanese games to launch the app itself 1-2 days early so you can pre-download it.
PVP Battle system unbalanced. I love this game. I do have two issues with it though. The way Power Levels are assigned to the opponents and the way battles are fixed by rank, not power levels. Power levels are tied to the games gatcha system, the more of an ability you have the more points you have in your power levels. It seems like the game doesn’t really care how it matches you against people that spend a lot of money. Or maybe they are doing it on purpose and want the people who spend a lot to feel strong by beating other players. Being low or no buy makes those battles impossible. So it would be much nicer if people with higher power levels were matched together. Or if there was some kind on compensation built in to forcing people to waste their time on extremely difficult matches. Monsters are also stronger too based on the stronger team and clearing small mobs is sometimes too hard if you’re not strong as them. That leads into my other issue. Even casual games are fixed by rank. This is fine, but if you want to party up with someone who is a lower rank it brings in people that are way stronger or better than them. Or if you have a character with lower power it will still be tied to your rank. It would just be nicer If there was another option to choose to have power levels fixed lower. Game play is very fun, it would just be nicer if the devs made an effort to make things more balanced since the whole game is built around that PVP mechanic.
Unfortunate. TLDR; this game is not a battle royale. Theres specific mechanics to be successful but a vast amount of other players disregard that fact and seem to play like it’s a full on PVP. You CAN attack others but that’s not the intended way to complete the match. So this game is beautiful. Love the graphics and the story itself, though somewhat disjointed and out of the way, is nice. My biggest problem are other players. The way the match goes is 3v3. There are crystals on the map that have to be purified and once you get enough ‘blessing’ points, you can go into burst mode and fight the boss after it shows up. The only way to do damage to the boss is having to be in burst mode. Then there is the other team…. Instead of competing to kill the boss, these other players will constantly attack your team, preventing anyone from being able to fight the boss. Then there is whole match is lost except for the opponents. I get it’s 3v3 but the point of the battle is to try and stop the enemy monsters. People are playing like it’s a full on 3v3 death match. If that was the case then get rid of the whole system and let people fight each other. You can’t do ANYTHING the way the game tells you when you’re constantly attacked. It’s such a waste and infuriating why people can’t play the way it was intended. Unless you pay to get the best abilities then your progress will be horrendously hampered by players treating the matches as a battle royale.
I would rather play Final Fantasy 7 Battle Royal than this game. The only thing is great about this game is soundtrack, other stuff are junk. Like seriously the game is broken already with nonsense spell damages and with %100 pay to win. Annoying invisible yellow flashing, that players don’t take damages. The bravery doesn’t go away, almost the whole match. You guys need at least put a timer how long it can be active, especially when the match is super short. Make big monster stronger, his health bar is like a toilet paper. That dies less than 5 minutes! Usually there’s possibility to be become stronger by grinding. Yes! It might take longer, but that’s what makes video games more entertaining to play. This game has nothing, you can’t even roll or block players attack. There’s a lot of things I want to say, but I feel like no point write down further. Everything that is lacking it’s in the game. Small advice Square, if you guys going to make new any PVP games. Make sure the game is balance enough with skills and especially characters, there’s a lot of games examples like League of Legends, MOBA Legends and etc.
This isn’t Dissidia. It’s depressing to watch your favorite games and series be made into mobile gacha games that have no similarities to the source material in anything other than name. I approached this game with an open mind due to my love for Final Fantasy and the original PSP Dissidia games. I tried it and I was right to be skeptical. It was unfortunately what I expected. We as Dissidia fans just want a new Dissidia game in the style of the PSP games on modern consoles… the formula was perfect, why did you change it? NT was not what we wanted. This is not what we want. We are tired of mobile gacha games. Why couldn’t we get a new console Dissidia game instead (or even along side) of this? I love the modern day aesthetics, I love the casual street outfits. There were some really good ideas here, but it’s just a shame that they are locked into a mobile gacha game. I hope that this isn’t the future of the series because if it is, that’s a future that I cannot be a part of.
Eco friendly gacha. I have played gacha games for a while, this one is actually great for your wallet. You don’t need to spend money unless you want to fast track leveling your abilities, you have so many ways of getting MogPay coins in the game as a f2p player but even if you were to purchase the coins they are reasonably priced for the amount you get. Money aside, game is a lot of fun! Has auto options if you prefer hands off playing and the character designs are so fun and unique compared to previous final fantasy DISSIDIA games
Balance in characters.. Better hope you hate Final Fantasy 3 and playing the onion knight. His power grows in level, level coming from beating monsters and collecting bravery, but his only stat increase is attack. Doesn’t gain defense, doesn’t gain hp. Just a sharper butter knife. Sephiroth for example, is able to take him out of his Ultra rare ability that says unblockable, with his just one of his abilities, that not only kills every monster while doing a lot of damage to the entire enemy team, it also makes sure they stay stunned over the ENTIRE map for 5 seconds. No escape or counter at all. You just wait for their teammates to finish the job, or the second sephiroth to do the same ability right after to guarantee a team wipe. Essentially, making your already squish character, no matter what, a free target. I understand that the power of seasonal characters needs to be stronger than anything before or after they’re released. But when they stun the entire map with zero consequences? Nah. I understand that they cater to the whales and only give buffs to the characters that the whales play at the top. But seriously. Put a little more balance in seasonal. No one should ever be given a map wide, high damage, unblockable, full team stun. That’s just bad choice.
Genuinely fun game with every character extremely powerful in their own way. I see some people complain about some characters being OP And so the game isnt fun. But the truth is, from where I am standing, The game is actually really balanced. Yes it is a gacha game, yes you have to pull for characters and abilities. But every single character is built to be powerful if you know how to play them. Some are high attack low defense and speed, some high speed and low attack. The game forces you to learn how to play to your strengths. Im not a huge PvP gamer since I prefer not beating someone down so they cannot play, but there are challenges you can accomplish as a single player (they do run out though). The game also has a pretty good chat system for followers and communities, making player built parties actually able to somewhat communicate before a match. Overall, I feel this is actually a really great game. The storyline is fun so far, I only wish English voice actors could be added as well. TLDR Base game is great foundation for players to build up their own fighting style and work well in teams.
Darn. I really wanted to dislike this game before playing it since it was nothing like the first two Dissidia games, but after getting up to rank silver 4 I’ve grown to actually enjoy the gameplay. Along with the story is interesting deviating from the normal plot of chaos vs cosmos. It’d be nicer if you could get rewards sooner, but it’s got the gotcha effect since it’s a mobile game. It’s also a little rough praying you got a good ability for the character you have and also having to pray you get a character you want from drawing, but since there’s only about 9 characters to choose from it’s not terrible. Overall it’s a funny game if you’re a competitive gamer.
Optimistic that the game will add more content. I think the game is pretty fun right now, the characters are well balanced, and the combat is pretty challenging—but there’s not much really to do? Especially after you start to finish the Challenge Mode battles. Would love to see the game have a huge character roster, more collectibles (outfits, weapons skins, poses for your character in the player profile). Rn I’m choosing to be optimistic. As far as gacha games go, I think the monthly pass is reasonable for getting you what you need to enjoy the game without topping off paid funds, but I think being a non-paying player would probably leave you feeling under-powered.
Bravery Bug?. I enjoy the game for the most part, but recently since the update I've noticed that I've been experiencing a technical error in gameplay. I don't typically enjoy PvP games so I'm really out of my comfort zone but wanted to give Dissida Dellum a chance. But during gameplay when the enemy team goes into bravery burst they are invulnerable as per game rules, however when I or my team goes into bravery we are instantly attacked and die obviously turning the game against our favor and losing every time. Hoping this bug gets fixed soon.
More fun than I expected. Honestly, I preregistered on a whim. I’m a huge FF fan but the idea of a 3v3 game kinda rubbed me the wrong way, as I dont find myself drawn to those types of games. I am happy that I was proven wrong, as I am having add more fun with this game than I thought I would. Battles feel nice and fast. The current roster is really nice and has plenty of character play styles to choose from and at the time of this review, Firion was added so I went out of my way to unlock him as fast as I could. Overall the game is really fun and the music helps keep me coming back for more.
Good but could be better. I see the potential for this game but I struggle to find the reason to lock the moveset of characters behind a pay wall instead of the characters itself? Not to mention the only way you can upgrade said movements is by obtaining them multiple times? Now that’s petty, not to mention the issue of some characters not even being useful with how the games mechanics favors other characters. I also think there should have been a story mode outside of the battle pass, while it’s free to view, the way to unlock each episode is not the best idea. The games fun but also having to lock the rewards behind another paywall after three rounds is crazy? I don’t see this game lasting much if decisions like these keep being made. I need to see more F2P content added if I ever plan to spend a ton of money on my favorite characters first before I go full pro on the ranks.
More fun than I expected. I was honestly quite reserved about trying this one out. It just looked like another Gacha game to me, but decided to take a chance on it, since I love Final Fantasy. It is actually very enjoyable. A simple concept with a simple gameplay style. I enjoy the story built into the regular play. I’m not overly fond of the randomness for the character acquisition, but it works pretty well for the abilities. Overall, it’s a fun experience and I don’t feel any pressure to make a purchase. You can get strong through regular play if you’re willing to put in the time. I’m excited to see more characters get added in and what abilities come with them. Let’s go Tidus!!
Good game but very predatory. I love the final fantasy series and never played the OG DISSIDIA game on the psp and was bummed when they shut down Opera Omnia when I returned after week before they pulled the plug on it but when I saw they were making a new Dissidia game like NT just on mobile sounded great but after playing it I came to realize that yes the game is still early in its cycle but it’s really predatory monetarily with banners costing 3000 moogle coins which is really high for a 20 pull but really limited on how to get the premium currency for free! The game also has another currency for characters which you would need to get from multi pulls which is already hard for a casual player to do, and then there’s another ticket currency for UR skills and I don’t know how to get them normally unless I spend money on the bundles they have and I don’t want a game to lock stuff behind paywalls for a free game. There’s character challenges that reward you stuff for completing them if you have the character unlocked and some of their skills, and there’s no story integration or solo story and it’s only available through the season pass…this game has so much potential but it’s clearly Pay 2 Win heavy and only wants you to play rank and or spend money for new characters and their abilities while just being casual is less rewarding and would make you drop the game in a snap if there’s others with a fully maxed out character and kit while the game encourages you to spend money to be powerful or make you wait till your favorite character comes out and have to hoard your coins for them. I hope they make changes to the game and actually make it free to play like other games on this App Store like Clash Royal and Brawl Stars for example or else this game will be dead in a couple months.
Easy to start and enjoy.. It takes very little time for the game to get going and to start enjoying matches. You can play with your phone just fine but if you want to take it a step further a controller can almost make it feel like a main line Dissidia entry albeit with much shorter simple matches. The gacha at this time of launch isnt so bad. You get to reroll your first pulls as much as you like. I HIGHLY recommend you choose a character you will play in this game (Cloud is likely easiest) then reroll until you get Both UR abilities for him or another character of your choice. From there you will have a super strong character to dominate matches. Another word of advice. I have achieved a high rank in ranked. Do not believe the tierlists out there. Character such as Prompto for example are being called trash on tierlist and it could not be farther from the truth. You must leverage each characters specific strengths. Some characters are certainly stronger than others, thats obvious once you fight higher skill players with better characters in higher ranks. But the disparity is less pronounced in lower ranks.
Decent Start. While it doesn’t quite hold up to how great the PSP games were, its core loop is pretty fun. It’s pretty bare bones right now. (Season 1). I also don’t enjoy the premise of the characters being in Tokyo. It hardly makes sense, nor do these characters mesh well. But luckily it basically is just set dressing. I’d much have preferred the stages of their respective games like before. Still, the core game can be fun and the matches are entertaining. Abilities feel good. I don’t sense a lot of lag either so things play rather well. With updates, this could be pretty solid. But longevity is sort of up in the air. Hopefully they leave Tokyo and get some more interesting maps and ideas. Perhaps more solo or co op content would give those non competitive people more chances to enjoy the game.
Future pay to win gatcha game. TLDR: As things stand with the how the game is structured it will quickly become dominated by whales and power creep. Full review To keep this brief, if you are coming here for a DISSIDIA game this isn’t it. It is unfortunately another competitive mobile game that will quickly become dominated by whales and subject some seriously predatory gatcha power creep in the near future. Playing as a free to play player, I found myself getting one or two shot by players using the same character. This is extremely frustrating because even though I’ve luckily unlocked a fair number of moves I’m getting taken out by whales who have every move, dozens of dupes for each, and max level moves from the leveling resources received from the gatcha. The gatcha is also extremely predatory. There are 5-6 premium currency banners presently active on the game, all of which promising moves or characters. If this was a single player game this wouldn’t be as much of a problem but this is a competitive game. It is extremely unfair for players to be competing with each other on unequal footing. This doesn’t foster long term player commitment and feels like this going to be a short lived gatcha game that will last a few months or maybe a year. Technical problems: The game ran fine, but only if it stays at 60 fps. Anything less and it look horribly choppy. Also for whatever reason this game only cause my phone to heat up to an uncomfortably high temperature.
Enjoying it more than I thought. I thought this was going to be another gatcha game in the works and I started playing it late into its release window and it pretty much was (I paid $6 for a pass)… but then the updates came and really started enjoying it. Free powerful skills, characters… I guess the downside is that you don’t always get the skills for the character you want. Which happened in my case, instead giving me all the skills to a character I’m not used to. Started playing as Rinoa with all four of her abilities and I’ve been hooked. Touch controls are fine… I’ve played so much that I’m pretty used to them. First time players will have a nightmare. As you can tell by my awful grammar, it’s a real review. Honestly, pleasantly surprised with this game! Give it a go.
Very weak DISSIDIA release. I find a way to love every single DISSIDIA game and this one was a major flop. I’ll start with what doesn’t make it a 1 star though. The skins and urban setting of this final fantasy world is very exciting and immersive. It’s endearing to see these characters in a more relatable and modern lens. This could have been a powerful premise for something amazing but there is practically no campaign or story! The best they could do is show a literal group chat between the final fantasy characters about investigating crystals. Did Square Enix think that these chat emotes are more immersive than an actual experience? Another positive is the PVEVP format. It is actually very fun gameplay! But it is spoiled quickly by how there is a gatcha for characters, their abilities, their skins, their medals, etc. it’s all so randomized and it’s insane how they think that this is sustainable for the players. For example, I could really want a newly released character. I could use 5 VERY RARE tickets to get a guarantee at a skin I wouldn’t even like. Then I would have to go into a gatcha to try and make them usable by getting their skills. There is no selector for skill gatcha, you could theoretically never get these skills. That said, with those awful odds, you would still need to gather multiple dupes for these skills in hopes of staying remotely competitive or relevant. I waited sooo long for this game and I cannot explain how disappointed I am. There is so much wasted potential here and it feels like a money grab. SQUARE, please be more generous to your loyal fans. Give a solid story, make resources easier to get, and if there is a pay wall, at least guarantee that someone can get what they want instead of leaving it to chance. It’s still early enough to make some healthy changes to this slow-motion car crash.
Not the worst game but why’re people who give negative reviews giving it 5-stars?. The game can be fun but as expected, completely pay-to-win, with horrible matchmaking and the touch functions aren’t completely reliable unfortunately. If the abilities were more balanced, but you have abilities that stun you so long, I’m not even sure why the stun is there since you’re basically guaranteed death unless you have a anti-status ailment ability (and there’s like…2 of those out of 50?). One of the most annoying things is when the boss spawns in, it does so cinematically which absolutely interrupts what you’re doing whether being chased by or you’re mid-fight against another player, and that alone can basically get you killed even when you’re winning because suddenly you’re completely disoriented. I’d give the game a 3-star rating but I’m seeing negative reviews with a 5-star rating? Are you people getting free stuff or something?
Addicting. Been having fun with the game. It released on March 24, and a lot of lost lambs with no brains cried about Apple’s pre-download system. The app downloads early so you can get all the large storage downloads out of the way before release. The game itself is very fun. You unlock all available characters through gameplay alone, but if you want to rush getting who you want, there’s the gacha pull system. I think it’s fair I’ve only pulled 4 times and managed to get 4 different characters, which is half the current roster. Loving the combat. It’s a PvP only type of game, with both ranked and casual modes (for those who don’t want to lose anything and just want to have fun, I recommend sticking to casual). The game is still new, so take advantage of ranked before the player base grows in the future.
Why does this exist. It’s like the developers saw the amount of love for Dissidia/012 and hatred for NT, then decided “what if we doubled down on the direction dissidia fans hated, but also introduced gacha mechanics for characters, abilities, and raw stats? Let’s make it pvp only as well.” While they were at it, they introduced a reverse isekai story and fail to do anything with it of real interest. Everything is cryptic to sound important and the characters are just hollow representations of themselves. The most entertaining thing is seeing someone like the warrior of light awkwardly using a cell phone, but that’s barely even relevant beyond a passing smirk. In summary, the game is another step in the direction dissidia fans already don’t like, while adding pay to win mechanics and locking the story behind battle pass progression. This isn’t a game meant to be played, it’s one for board rooms and marketing teams. Time to kill is despicably low and I can’t tell if that’s intentional or just someone who whaled their way into maxed out abilities. For an example, ultra rare abilities for a character will typically make you invulnerable while you use them, deal enough damage to kill instantly, and hit an extremely wide range. If you aren’t bringing your characters rarest abilities (and therefor spending a ton of money because, yes! You can get abilities for characters you can’t even play!) then you simply will not win in matches. Literally all I can say that’s positive is that the actual aesthetics are enjoyable. The characters are nicely rendered and fully voiced, albeit in Japanese without subtitles, and personalized emojis for every character. That’s a nice touch. The art side of things put in work. And the gameplay itself is, at least, a niche rarely fulfilled.
As a mobile game enthusiast this is really strong. If the devs keep up with this game it could be something special. And for the comments and reviews saying that it’s gruesomely P2W.. you’re incorrect you just don’t know how to play. The draws are handsomely in your favor if you hit a banner with the character abilities you want. Of course there’s luck and RNG but that’s every gacha. They reward you for ever maintenance generously, there’s an event every week that gives you a ton of mog coins, or a ton of tickets. I’ve spent for season pass and THATS IT. I have a cloud with all abilities and 22,000 Mog Coins with 150 tickets. All saved for a character I’m waiting for. It’s not P2W at all (unless you want to be top100 in the world ofc)
Needs work. There is a lot to be excited for with this game. I think the core gameplay experience is one that can be a lot of fun, and very rewarding to master. The real-time strategy of managing position, bravery, boss damage, and the rival team all lend themselves to a fast-paced PvEvP experience that feels very enjoyable to participate in. Currently the game has some pretty intense balancing issues around a number of skills and characters, unfortunately, leading to an incredibly stale meta that kills a lot of the potential dynamics and induces homogeneity. Of particular note, is the skill Ace Fire RF, which is a generic UR skill that typically kills any rival in a single use. Since this is a generic skill, you see it everywhere. On supports, on melees, on agiles, and then obviously on the ranged characters. As one advances in the ranked mode, the likelihood that one or ALL of your opponents have this skill, becomes very high, making for an experience that I feel robs the different characters of their uniqueness. Add to this the fact that users can simply let a poorly optimized AI play their character, and matches can feel very lopsided, despite the metrics presented stating that it will be an even match. Finally, there is the monetization itself. The monetization element of this game is so wildly predatory that I cannot even think of another game to compare it to. Nothing I have ever seen comes close to what this game attempts to do to part users with their money. It would take a great deal to explain it properly in detail here in this feedback text, but let me assure you, user, there is no space in this game to be competitive at higher levels unless you intend to spend the equivalent to a down payment on a home.
Great game but saddening. This is actually a great game. It’s fun, cute addictive, and it’s full of life and yet so many people are turned off by the predatory micro transactions. Although I really don’t think it’s predatory as some may make it out to be. The ranked matches seem to be scaled to power levels, so I don’t know if whaling inherently has an advantage. I wish this had more marketing and the publisher communicated their interest in fair, balanced play with paid elements that provide advantages that are not game breaking. This is a failed launch because of the lack of communication around it. I hope it lives, I’ll play it, but their reputation tells me this doesn’t last long.
Fun, but missing something.. So after a bit of time with the game I can say it’s fun. Quick short matches and characters at launch feel varying. Some characters feel like they have massive advantages like Gaia with the time stop/slow down mechanics. However much like NT I feel like they just keep making interesting game modes in the Dissidia franchise and not a proper full game. I dunno why we keep moving away from the solid foundation that the PSP games or even Opera Omnia with its turn based formula winning me over time. Hope this game does the same, but I’m still getting that NT feeling….maybe my glasses are rose tinted from the psp days…I don’t think so though.
Dissidia. I have enjoyed this game a fair amount. The gameplay is actually decently solid, and the whole team-based thing actually works pretty well here. Characters are visually well-designed, and their attacks are done pretty well. However, the gacha is… not great. The main problem is that there is absolutely no way to guarantee or even up the chance of getting a UR for any given character other than through some special event banners. To be fair, that is just gacha. However, every character needs to be drawn from a separate gacha, so there is a fair chance that you will end up with URs for characters you don’t have. Again, to be fair, it’s that’s just gacha. It’s just annoying at times when you’re trying to build your favorite character to be better in battles. The thing that takes one star off for me is that this game runs like garbage on my phone (for reference it’s an iPhone XR which might explain it), but I’ve seen a few people in-game complain about lag and whatnot. It’s a fun time regardless, and it’s well-made. That said, some optimization for older models would be appreciated. (Sidenote Square Enix please nerf Supernova. It’s waaaay too broken…)
Best FF PVP. I think there’s a lot of amazing this game has to offer because I really enjoy PvP games and I’m also addicted to final fantasy. I don’t have many gripes over this game once you understand how everything works. My only complaint is ofc the abilities and how many you need and how much it costs to upgrade. Because of this the game allows you to only play up to barely 4 characters competitively. That is if you’re only buying the battle pass. I’d like to have options to actively play as many characters as I want and have less damage gaps and more skill gaps between players. I’d also personally love another game mode for PvP.
Lack of adequate explanation. I downloaded the game and started playing it and to be entirely honest the game does an entirely lackluster job of explaining the mechanics to you. Be it the way combat works, the eggs, the sealed crystals, or even how abilities work. It’s painfully obvious the game was set up to benefit whales and only whales, at the gacha mechanic is primarily for abilities. I game back to it a day later after having several very confusing matches and suddenly the game is dumping a pop up (not a full tutorial) on an essential part of combat. I love final fantasy. I really do, but this game is more frustrating than fun. They basically made a sequel to the least popular dissidia game and I don’t see it lasting an entire year. Edit: just updating with something I learned today, the game will penalize you for answering phone calls on your phone. On their game that can currently only be played on a cellphone. Edit 2: Oh and if you have too many apps running in the background, too, because that makes sense. Edit 3: the game says when you are flashing you are invincible. I have literally died so many times mid animation. Edit 4: you can’t say the word “hello” in the chat without censoring. Edit 5: they changed the draw mechanics, it’s much more predatory now. Edit 6: the app directs you to a site called Tapjoy to earn free in game currency. Most of these offers are scams and do not award anything unless you do something outrageous like BUY A CREDIT CARD?? Edit 7: the in game ads you have to watch for draws or to unlock crystals can have soft core p. Edit 8: the changes brought with the recent update (Sephiroth drop) have really proven how much the devs care for whales and whales only. Your experience doesn’t matter if you’re not spending hand over fist every week. The challenges previously jumped by 10-20 levels for each category, the recent one is 60. They also made the most recent character the most broken. Hope you like Sephiroth because you WILL have him in a fight no matter what thanks to his broken stats and skills
5 Stars. The game isn’t perfect, but it’s honestly leagues better than most of the slop sitting on the App Store right now. The gameplay actually has a real loop to it, the matches feel active, and there’s enough strategy with farming, crystals, boss damage, and PvP that it doesn’t feel like another lazy auto-battler. I’ve been having way more fun with it than I expected. It has some rough edges, especially with the controls and some of the mobile-game systems, but the core game is strong enough that I actually want to keep playing and improving. This is only the second mobile game I’ve ever spent money on, besides DBZ Legends, so that should say something. If the developers keep improving it, fixing the rough spots, and supporting the game properly, I can see it becoming one of the better Final Fantasy mobile games.
So far so good!. Gameplay is solid with little to no connectivity issues. It was a little weird playing around the invincibility frames of UR abilities but I am learning how to best counter those for each character though I think it would be interesting to have an ability specifically for that too. UI is super simple in a good way and won’t leave you feeling overwhelmed when you first open the game. I’m normally pretty scared of competitive game but the characters that are released so far seem balanced and feels like any team composition has an equal ability to win, just as long as you play it right. Of course it’s also super fun to see the characters we love most in a whole new gathered setting and in alternate outfits! The story is still young but I am very eager to see more of it and learn more of the situation our characters have been put in. Overall, loving it!
To all the illiterate. I haven’t played it yet but this is to combat all the illiteracy in these dumb 1 star ratings. Here is the brake down games usually release few days to a week before it’s usable. Why, because you can download it and be ready when it’s time for the game to release. So to all the people rating 1 star because you can’t read, STOP!!!! You truly are the reason the human race is doomed! How I came to this conclusion you might be wondering?!?!? Well it’s simple. In the first paragraph of the games details, in the page at which you hit the install button visible without scrolling said, ‘READY TO PLAY MARCH 24th’. So stop being dumb read why it might not be working rather than going “nope broken, don’t load, 1 star.” Cause your IQ is showing and seems you don’t want that.
Rough start. It's fine. Neither bad nor good, just fine. The gameplay is clunky and claustrophobic, especially being locked to vertical play, but oddly addicting. I was pleased to see that there was no "stamina" system, but the downside is that you're functionally locked to 3 wins before a 2 hour cooldown unless you don't care about rewards -- which you should, because they've locked the story behind the battle pass for some ungodly reason. Noticing a lot of reused art from previous games like FFTCG. The FINE segments are endlessly charming. Home screen lines need a translated speech bubble or something. I really, really hope they make some QoL adjustments because I WANT to like a Dissidia game, but I just can't get past how sluggish so much of it feels. Especially those damned seals. Oh my god, please let us collect rewards even with full seals.

Wow.. Can’t get passed the loading screen.
Ff fan. I love final fantasy
Having a great time. The community is so nice and welcoming, always have a blast with my party members. The Gacha aspect is well balanced and I think it’s worth the investment.
F2P will not make progress. Free resources are so scarce that you need to play for months to make any meaningful progress. So many bugs. Sometimes you have to watch ads 3-5 times because of connection errors
Sweet. It’s really good feel like playing all the time
It’s okay. I want to love it but the controls are bad
I love FF. Game has exceeded my expectations
Noctis. I love this game so much but I really want to have Prince/King Noctis FFXV in this game. I do love Prompto (main with Light and Cloud)
Pay 2 Win. I hit top 300 and I am disappointed that a competitive game like this is pay to win. It is impossible to climb at high rank when whales can literally one shot you.
Unique, but tricky. The game is fun, and it adds a new different way to fighting. It’s a bit more immersive, and controls are a BIT… different. Game loading has awkward moments. Navigating things requires specific tap orders to get to where you want to go.
Love it!!. Super fun, generous, replayable high quality game! Great work Square! I never asked for this but I can’t put it down! Please port it over to PS4/PS5!! Wishing the game a long lifespan! 🙏❤️
Awesome. I recommed you playing it
The Future…. I hope in the future there will be event battle like raid battle or boss, new characters from past closed down final fantasy game like mobius or even crossover character
Wow!. It’s quick and fun!
After adjusting to controls, VERY FUN!. I’m giving a 5* because of the fun I’m having, but it’s far from perfect.. This game has been out a week only though, and I’m sure it’s only gonna get better.. If you’re an FF fan then DL and enjoy..
FFRK. theres a colab with Record Keeper coming up . Bring Record Keeper back to the North American Server . it was your only good phone game.
Eiko? Barret? Yuffie?. Great gameplay amazing soundtrack
Actually…. Honestly, this is a very well designed, visually and musically pleasing game that has a lot of Final Fantasy love poured into it! You CAN play for free, though progression is certainly much more difficult without some purchases for each season. The mechanics are both basic and simple, but become more complex at higher levels. Great time waster for FF fans! I’m looking forward to seeing more.
DISSIDIA PEAK. It’s Peak.
Bad. If you want to ruin your entire opinion of final fantasy and the characters within go ahead and download this game. It will completely destroy everything you love about the characters and worlds you’ve grown to love. Don’t play this game.
Quickly runs out of steam. Fun for the first couple of days, then it’s only slightly better than Dissidia NT. Probably gonna end soon like Opera Omnia.
Great game. I wish the screen is on landscape mode, you barely see the surroundings with portrait smh. Will change my rating if they put landscape!!!!
No future. Ability gacha is heinous and will make higher ranks unplayable for f2p players. The game itself is fun and has a really cool style, but it is probably the most predatory game I’ve ever seen.
Unexpectedly fun and easy to pick up. Fun and easy to pick up, tho the ads and push to sell sucks for gotcha games, which is expected and the main reason it is 4/5 and not 5. Would be great to have a local coop or 1 v 1 or 2v2 locals or free for all. I could see that being an all platform game
If your not pay to win, you wont be able to win. 100% pay to win, that and ranked is full of cheaters already. sorry but this isnt what dissidia is. every dissidia since the first one and 012 duodecim has been complete garbage. now your making dissidia pay to win? nah if i could give this no stars, i would. pay to win is NOT what dissidia is.
Might not be the DISSIDIA we wanted but very good game. A very fun game
Super addictif !!. Love the art style, really fun game for any FF fans
Loving it!. Played the beta an thoroughly enjoyed it. Currently enjoying it right now! Can’t wait for Aerith 🤍. Also Iroha is very pretty 🥺🫶🏻
Early rating. Give it a try but don’t expect much as game just launched
The controls are atrocious. The art of the game is good and the gameplay looks like it can be fun, but the controls are atrocious. Not sure how this was tested and decided it was a good experience. It also makes no sense there’s no landscape mode for this type of game.
Came for lightning, stayed for the amazing gameplay 🩷. It’s seriously so much fun, this game has only been out for like a month but I think I already have 70+ hours logged 😭 I love getting to try out characters that I’m not even familiar with since everyone has a unique play style, plus the gacha is super generous! The modern designs and stickers are also so adorable!! I highly recommend this game for any ff fans. I have a bunch of new faves now
PvP focused game where you level your skills and obtain characters with gacha. Most people who download this game are probably Final Fantasy fans. Unfortunately, like most gacha games by Square Enix, this game is another money grab and blatantly pay-to-win. Imagine playing a MOBA and instead of levelling your skills when you gain experience points, you level your skills from gacha pulls outside of the match. This sounds like a non starter when PvP games live and die by game balance.
Fun and addictif. Even if it is a gacha game, the gameplay loop is pretty good and addictive, the gacha aspect is not as bad as Ever Crisis. There is a good element of teamwork and strategies. I love the concept of the story, the graphics are really good and the animation is also good. Now, the only thing missing is the return of Dissidia on console .
Very Bad(edited from Great). After a whole week I can attest to the fact it’s a very bad game so far; it doesn’t have any chat or ping feature past “hello”, rendering any and all support type useless as people won’t ever go into Break, no matter how much you give them bravery or boost them, and without any means to actually notify them live, it just completely broken. Some characters are OBVIOUSLY broken, like Cloud who’s able to finish off Bosses in just a single combo, making some battle utterly impossible to win and pointless, which don’t be all that bad if you didn’t have to wait for at minimum 10 minutes between matches. Don’t recommend.
Very fun game. love it. Beautiful remix of many original soundtracks to listen to while playing. fun gameplay with a lot of customization. lots of amazing characters from world of Final Fantasy. love it.
Great game! UI is a bit confusing for me. The game is great! Gameplay is awesome. The UI can get confusing to navigate sometimes. I don’t know how, but if there was a way to streamline everything that’d be great.
Battle Pass Nightmare. There is an excellent 3v3 game in here; characters that feel unique and play well, excellent art direction and design, and a story with potential. However, the layers upon layers of pay2win, and the exponential increase in requirements to make progress in the battle pass and story (which of course incentivizes you to pay a premium for a boost pass) makes this difficult to recommend. I’d be happy to drop the money for the season pass, but the fact that the boost pass is the only way to ease the pain of the slog of the last half of the battle pass is predatory and upsetting. If they ease the pacing in the next season or two this is an easy recommend for FF fans.
Bad. Bring back dffoo. This is trash compared to that….
Connection is Awful. I’m playing on wifi with an excellent connection, so why am I constantly losing connection in game only to reconnect and find myself dead cause I apparently don’t even auto attack during that. Even doing the challenges, where it’s fighting with and against bots, it can’t hold a connection for a full match.
Competitive is a lost cause if you’re not lucky.. Been playing a lot of this game. Graphics are good and the gameplay is smooth, but if you want to get to the top of the leaderboards, save yourself the headache and don’t try if you don’t pull the right skills. Can’t compete without certain OP skills, and you cant get them if you’re not lucky. Doesn’t matter how much work you put into it. If you have the money to spend and want to play a competitive FF game, try the MMORPG, FF14.
awsome. awsomeness
Fun. Don’t usually like pvp games but I love this one.
Great so far. Pretty fun game
FUN GAME, GREAT CONTROLS!. Don’t listen to these HATERS… the controls are great, easy and even customizable with a controller. Gameplay is very fun and engaging and they give you lots of freebies and opportunities to build your kit (with infinite rerolls at the beginning). Just play the game to unlock more free stuff. I feel bad for the others who just call it ptw cause they’re clearly bad and just mad they are not winning games 😂

fun so far, needs some work. while im enjoying the game a lot (playing practically every day since release) there are quite a number of things that need improvements. im not going to put an angry review because i know there are a lot of things that are making people mad, but i hope what i list here will be helpful to people choosing whether or not to play the game, and also as feedback to the team. 1.) im a very big fan of the setting, characters, and story of the game— its actually the main reason im playing. seeing the characters text each other is very cute and funny! however, the story is scattered in the season pass, and unlocking parts of the story is based on collecting “season points” from matches (any, not just competitive). the reason this is an issue is because… 2) if you are a free player, you are limited to 3 (4 if you watch an ad) matches at once. if you have the paid season pass, it’s six. then, the rewards are put on a timer. if you play more matches while your reward slots are full, you get NO REWARDS AT ALL. this includes the other currency used for leveling up abilities, which has often times made me go “whats the point of playing more than 3 matches if i get literally nothing afterwards?” its a very strange choice if you want people to keep playing your game. 3) this game very much favors those who can pay for it, and its a bit obvious. this is only mitigated by the fact that the season pass is around maybe $3, which is definitely more accessible than so many other games ive played. but that might also be how they rope you in, so watch out. 4) the gacha pity is just okay at best. i see a lot of posts pretty frustrated about it. i personally think they dont give enough rewards for… everything, so this is unsurprising. ive given this 3 stars because while there are some major aspects that could use improvement, i do think the gameplay itself is very fun and i love that theres is a community system in game, almost like their own social media lol. i hope that the story can be separated from the season pass using a different currency or missions, and id love some side stories for each character going forth. looking forward to seeing how the game evolves.
Suggesting. Great game overall. Easy to learn mechanics, simply menu layout. Only suggestions I have are adding a 1v1 PVP with potentially smaller objectives than a boss or a story mode for each character introduced showing what they were doing before they were dragged into the events of the main story for this game, allowing players to level up skills and abilities.
A Lesson Not Learned. Dissidia at its prime was a Final Fantasy fan’s wish come true. Recreating battles and “what if my favorite character fought my favorite villain” A one on one heavy battle. With the release of Dissida NT, the idea of depending on a team to win became distasteful for many. The game disappointed many, and it had disappointing sales. You would think they would learn from their mistakes. Listen to the fans and give them what they want. But it seems that no matter how many Phoenix Downs and Curagas people used, the creators could not revive their hearing, and created a mobile version of NT. This game can be fun, but the lack of a story MODE being replaced with a cutscene only viewable in the game’s version of a Battle Pass, its lack of characters, unsatisfying summon/gatcha system, main menu that feels incomplete and empty; heartbreaking to a FF fan. It is another game where history has repeated itself.
Really solid gameplay. I usually hate pvp but this game has been surprisingly fun. Matches are short and your choices have a big impact. It’s not a perfect game—the gacha elements are less generous than others I’ve played in the genre—but the gameplay is also better than anything else out there. They finally added a way to earn all Ultra Rare abilities for a character which is good
8 hour video abilities and auto feature. Can we get a time clock for that? It says 8 hours, but it would be nice to know how much time we had before we could get it again. Also the auto feature is broken. I’ve had many fights that I look down and my character is sitting in one spot motioning left then right continuously. At that point I don’t know how long it’s been doing that for.
Bring Opera Omnia back. The good: graphics look great. VA sounds good. The bad: no full screen (playing on iPad). Interface is cluttered and not sensible. Gameplay environment is uninteresting and not engaging. No solo adventure, mainly PvP. If this Dissidia had full screen AND was more of a solo adventure, I’d be more inclined to keep playing, maybe even spend. It would be great if there were an option to switch gameplay to turn-based like Opera Omnia was. I don’t like this iteration of Dissidia. It feels kind of like a money grab than a game that respects a player’s time and Home interface features many things to buy. Please, just give us Opera Omnia 2.0 or an offline version of that game would be great. I would buy it.
Don’t let the negativity steer you away. I enjoy the gameplay a lot, story is good so far. I’m a light spender so getting the battle passes just to maximize progress, not worried about the rankings at all. I recommend to play how you enjoy playing whether it’s chasing the leaderboard or causal battles. It’s a fun 3v3 arena battle with some decent strategy involved but not overly complicated. I do miss DFFOO a lot and hope one day the do some kind of tribute or bring back some of that games elements.
Not a bad game, but not great either. After the novelty of it being a Dissidia game after Square Enix pulled the plug on the last one (rip NT), it just becomes a boring, unintuitive PvP battler. If you enjoy it, keep playing it. But just know that since there’s a gacha that you will never be as strong as the people dropping hundreds to get multiple maxed URs, especially if you don’t get lucky enough to get Minwu UR Teleport vs one unique to your character (or both). Just bring back 012 you cowards and not this slop skinned with Dissidia to try and garner interest. :(
Against all odds, I’m impressed.. As an enormous fan of the PSP Dissidia games, I’ve been waiting for another title in this series to recapture the magic. NT was a huge bummer and I was skeptical of Duellum being a live service title, but somehow, it’s oozing with charisma and reverence for Final Fantasy. The team battles are actually a lot of fun and quite strategic despite their slower pace. And I can’t praise the soundtrack and visuals enough. A beautiful game to look at and listen to. I sincerely hope this continues to be supported for a long, long time to come.
Good game so far!. First and foremost I am a die hard Final Fantasy fan and I have loved the concept of the dissidia games over the years. That being said, I do think this is a very fun game and it has a lot of potential. I do understand that these games need to make money and the gatcha aspect is heavy in this one. I would HIGHLY suggest that the developers keep this accessible and fun for those who are free to play. Generosity from the developers side can go a long way in satisfaction for the player base.
Review. Must say I love final fantasy and this PVP style is really awesome. Although the only story is through the battle pass the combat makes up for it besides I’m pretty sure there are no story modes in dissida games since it’s just to put people to fight and that’s exa what this game targets not only that but the outfits look real cool. Definitely a 10/10.
Scratches the itch first soldier did!. I absolutely miss FFVII First Soldier all the time but this game has its hooks in me the same way. I love the world and the gameplay is fun to pick up and knock out a game in under 10 min. I wish I could get more of the characters and I will never understand why these games are relegated exclusively to mobile but I’ll be damned if this doesn’t have me picking up my phone over and over.
Missed the Mark Square. As a long-time Dissidia enthusiast, it’s disappointing to see the franchise return in a state that feels so disconnected from the Western audience. While the high-fidelity cel-shaded graphics and reimagined Tokyo setting are visually impressive, the actual user experience is fraught with barriers that make it difficult to recommend. The Major Hurdles: • Lack of Localization: Launching a major Final Fantasy title in the West without English voice acting is a significant oversight. In a fast-paced 3v3 arena where split-second reactions are required, having to rely on subtitles for character cues and story beats completely breaks the immersion and flow of combat. • Prohibitive Control Scheme: The decision to force a "Portrait Mode" orientation is the game’s greatest weakness. Even after extensive time spent practicing, the controls remain clunky and unintuitive. Having your thumbs obscure 30% of the active battlefield leads to frequent targeting errors and missed inputs—a frustrating experience for a game centered on competitive play. • Aggressive Monetization: The "30-duplicate" skill system creates a pay-to-win environment that discourages skill-based progression. It rewards the wallet over the player's dedication, which is a sharp departure from the more balanced systems seen in previous entries like Opera Omnia. Who is this game for? This title feels explicitly designed for the "subway-commuter" market in the East—players who need a one-handed, vertical experience for short bursts of play in silence. However, for the Western gamer looking for a deep, polished action-RPG with the production values the Final Fantasy name usually commands, this feels like a significant step backward. Verdict: Unless you are willing to spend months fighting the interface rather than the enemies, this is a difficult sell. Square Enix has prioritized "lifestyle convenience" over the mechanical depth and localization that fans in this region deserve.
Needs work. Been waiting for a new FF game but this one basically strengthens your characters based off how much you spend on the game. You can have the same abilities but if the other person spent more, you will lose because of the stat difference. Casual players become a liability due to that. There really is only pvp mode and a pvp AI mode where you do challenges. Half the players already quit the game after a couple of weeks due to how repetitive it is.
Final Fantasy - the school thing is a side aesthetic. Actually an amazing little game, but be warned there is some bait and switch early on. Loses two stars for that. Paid for the battle pass- but it’s a “tutorial” battle pass- so the “real” battle pass unlocks for you to pay for again. Then your unlocks for each game also get locked behind paywalls. If it was honest from the get go, there would be no reason to be annoyed.
Playing into my liking. This Final Fantasy game is starting to approve now. It’s got a pretty good story. It has an interesting taste to it too also, they even brought my favorite main character from Final Fantasy 16 I’m hoping that one day they also might add the other characters from the other Final Fantasy games and maybe the strangers of paradise Final Fantasy characters
Needs international release. I’m Australian but to play this game I needed to switch to the United States App Store, which is pretty stupid since it has an English translation. Dissidia Duellum has the potential to be a great game and I hope it doesn’t get killed by Square Enix before it is. It needs more modes to help the game feel less repetitive. Something to do which gives rewards but is not tied to crystals. This is kinda in the challenge mode but it’s still the same 3v3 but instead with bots.
Loving it so Far!. Though I personally don’t really like PVP gachas, something about this game feels different. I really enjoy the combat, and the different play styles of each character. Though, certain aspects of the game being locked behind the support pass, like Character slots isn’t really Ideal. Overall I really enjoy this game, and see a bright future for it if more time and care is put into it.
Pay to Win Garbage Slop. You don’t just have to roll for the characters, you have to roll for their individual abilities they use in combat. On top of that, just getting an ability once isn’t good enough, you have to be lucky enough to get multiple copies of each ability because stats are tied to the abilities you equip. This game is a disgrace to both the Dissidia series and the Final Fantasy franchise as a whole. It’s disgusting that something this greedy and scummy would be approved for release. Even by gacha game standards it’s disappointing.
Controls. The controls are awful. At times the input of movement is ignored almost completely. The camera controls are also really bad. This game does not appeal to mobile users it appeals to players that can play the game with an external controller. At that point it would’ve been better to release the game as a console and not a mobile. Overall the visual and interesting concept is really good, but the whole battle controls are really bad unless you had an external controller.
Amazing Gameplay and Stat design!. Besides that really clunky pre release stuff that was fixed, this game has been addicting! I love the combat and how they brought in PVP Boss arena with a kick. I really enjoy building my characters and each one can uniquely do something awesome! I look forward to seeing what they create with this game and I hope it stays consistent.
By far BEST mobile game 2026. This is the Dissidia we were all waiting for on home console!! I can only hope that we eventually see a Dissidia like this on home console one day but for now this one does the trick n some. Customizable controls, great quality graphics and fighting, quiz team match. Like I said best mobile game this year. Also THE MUSIC!! Keep it comin Square Enix!!
Love it!. I do wish they had a different icon representing the premium currency separately from the in-game currency. I think it’s also a little unfair that a season pass I completed in two days means I don’t have access to the season pass daily rewards. Not really sure how I feel about having to pay for another one when they’re so easy to finish. Lastly I’d love an option to be able to play this sideways, it’s just feels easier to handle.
Cool concept held back by monetization. The game has a decent concept and the character designs are top notch, but the game is held back by archaic monetization. If you are free to play, you can only get the best rewards for three matches, remaining rewards matches are paywalled. Those three rewards are time locked, the time lock is also paywalled. Having a versus game that is progress-locked unless you pay takes the fun from the game. Acquiring the best spells, abilities and attacks, are slowed down by a payment system. No matter how good you are in the game, the team with the bigger wallet wins. It’s the opposite of fun, it just becomes a “who put more money into this game” battle.
Purifying is FUN. A new spin on the Dissidia with a 3v3 PVP system the game is Fun battles are enjoyable and different every time you have to pick your battles and pick weather to fight the boss or stall out your rivals The game is very beginner friendly with the re rolls the passes are reasonable controls are straightforward but a little clunky The implementation of the tracks and all the final fantasy cosmetics are nice and free to grind out Only cons is it’s a gotcha so the game can be free but you probably won’t be a juggernaut on ranked but dispite that the prices are good and the gotcha system is pretty good with all the extras they give you I’m excited to see what this game holds and hope it’s successful and can stay around for years to come Developer note: add subtitles I think they would be a nice addition due to the game being voiced in JP
Leaves more to be desired but good gameplay. You guys aren’t gonna have longevity if there’s no single player story mode and you just expect us to wait for a matchmaking. If it’s not always instant then there should be a story mode all about killing monsters so there’s variety. Good build honestly wish this was on console but regardless I semi enjoy the game when I can get into a match
Not enough solo content. Sadly it’s very pay to win spend money on ability draws to level up and unlock the best ones. Buy characters to get medals that give passive boosts for said character. Needs better matchmaking roles and map are locked before the game starts depending on team comp and map you could get steamrolled easily. Too many people play the game like it’s the failed first soldier battle Royale, only playing pvp not fighting boss. Not a casual friendly game at least on launch was hoping for some PVE content, but final fantasy fans will play and buy everything just look at the magic cards crossover.
Not great at all.. If your thinking this is a DISSIDIA Opera Omnia your dead wrong. What they did with opera omnia was great and should have never been shut down. This game is highly monetized and even characters are stuck behind paywalls. It’s a very different game where your faced against other players fighting monsters. You have skills to upgrade and you’ll find getting those skill cards hard to get unless you have a deep wallet. This is not a real DISSIDIA game. They should have redone opera omnia final fantasy and would have been 100x better than this game.
Oh, The Nostalgia!. Square Enix has been a favorite of mines since a child so im a bit biased, however for graphics quality the game is on point only downside is it is superrr linear it would be awesome to see some mini games in an arcade mode or something like that. Combat is surprisingly fluid for a mobile game and not really experiencing too much overheat after i adjusted the graphics a little. I really look forward to seeing what coming in the next update please, keep us on our toes as gamers hopefully the competitive scene can open up in the future of Dissidia FF!
So close to liking it. I probably played every ff gacha game or at least try them. Story: pretty typical, FF character finds themself fighter evil but this time they gave modern life too. Lost interest after a few cutscene. Gameplay: interesting need to have good co op player to do well. Had some AFK player and lost the match very easily. Boss appearance cutscene is annoying after a few games kind of ruin the flow and so is the crystal break. Gacha is just typical not too bad. But yeah it can be very P2W. Sometimes it takes a while to get into a match. Overall not bad but will stop after a few weeks.
Non existent customer support. Once you create an account the game has no sign out option so you are perma stuck in game even if you delete the app and uninstall. Customer service has no live chat nor phone number and take days to reply with an automated message that doesn’t take replies and if you open a new ticket like they ask after force closing your main ticket they will tell you on the new ticket you have to reply to the old one that’s closed. So they just throw you in a loop and hope you get frustrated enough to not put in another ticket.
Just sad. Even DISSIDIA NT was better than this garbage. Good luck playing the character you actually want to play unless you are looking to dump money to make them even remotely viable. Everything is behind the gacha system and I do mean everything Characters, abilities, the job system. Getting the character you want isn’t too much of an issue but unless you get their ultra rare ability they are basically useless. Oh and getting their abilities isn’t even the end because then you have to level them up by getting duplicates just to keep up with your rank. Garbage game and it’s sad seeing something so predatory coming from square but maybe my eyes have just been closed
Pretty fun, actually. As a new parent and Final Fantasy fan, I’ve had little time to play. My XIV account sits idle, on the verge of cancellation were it not for the house I’d lose. My Steamdeck, filled with FF titles, sits untouched. DDFF is what I needed right now. Something simple and fun with a FF flare that scratches the itch a bit between baby sessions. Battles are fun, quick, and simple to get into, and I’m enjoying the story so far. If you’ve heard bad things about it being a gacha, sure, it has lots of that, but it’s also easy to earn free currency needed to buy a chance for a skill. That’s a plus in my book! Looking forward to more FFVII characters joining the lineup - it’s my all time favorite!
Great Fun. I almost never write a review, but for a Final Fantasy game I will definitely give one. I love the Dissidia series of games and this one is definitely top tier. The music scores are excellent as you would expect from the FF series. The action is fast and chaotic in the best way. You don’t need to pay to play or pay to win, you just need the skills and reflexes to excel. If you’re a fan of 3D fighters or battle arenas, this game is definitely worthy of your time.
Pttf (empty ketchup bottle). I found this game very disappointing, little to No storyline, like most PVP games not fun due to the fact that the people who pay can easily overpower you, and the fact this is basically first soldier that was smaller field and quicker match. Let’s talk about the bad timing on releasing it when there’s a better game release the day before. This game feels like one of the game developers asked their kid who plays Fortnite to make a quick game. Like my sound effects from the title above Square Enix it is running out of ideas and squeezing empty ketchup bottle.
Quick cash grab. Issues: - Pure PvP with no PvE with friends - At higher ranks, disconnecting mid match loses you less points than actually losing - Pay to win highly encouraged. More times you pull, the more copies of abilities you get, the more copies, the higher the level cap of your skills, the higher the level of your skills, the more stats equipping the skill gives you, which means P2W - Ads. Swamped with ads if you want to farm as a F2P. To make them stop, you have to buy the battlepass. Absolutely unacceptable. - fun is tied to how many ultra rare moves you pull, not the character youre playing - No landscape mode Positives: - quirky story - great graphics - combat is pretty good, better if you can coordinate with friends - decent gameplay loop - decent opportunity for F2P to infinitely farm black crystals as they only take 5 minutes to open, but this is squabbled by ADS - cool message board system in the game lets you actually chat with your followers
Its a PVP Game!. For those who came in not expecting a PVP game, Idk what to tell all of you. Every advertisement and every beta player explained that this is a PVP game. In terms of actual gameplay? I find it to be very strong, as all mobile games it obviously has a few weaknesses but its nothing major or game breaking. Free to play players can easily enjoy the game with all the resources given. Solid 8/10
Long Time Fan. With the launch of the game I’m enjoying myself. The nostalgia hits all the right points and the character design with outfits have drip. Skills are where the game really shines. Between exclusive and non exclusive character skills. The gameplay is what I’d expect from a launch title. Few tweaks and it’ll probably be amazing. I love this moba direction. Keep it up.
Clunky Game Does Disservice to FF name.. Graphically the game is great. But that’s about where the good things end. P2W and you have to draw for skills and characters out of a small pool of 10 characters. For whatever reason it takes like 3 seconds for the menu to even respond to whatever you tapped on. Skills take forever to cast and cooldowns for the better skills are almost 40 seconds, 40 seconds in a 3v3 arena battler. You are out of the action for more than half the time. If you have to respawn, it takes what feels like a whole minute to get back into the fight. The lock-on system is so bad you will miss your intended target half the time. Does not do the old games justice. You will get killed by people who got better RNG than you on a character you don’t even care about. The scoring system isn’t coherent. You could get 1st for boss damage and kills but still have the 3rd highest score in the game. Lacks any sense of satisfaction when you genuinely outplay someone and it doesn’t reflect on the scoreboard.
3.5?. Now, don’t get me wrong. This game is INCREDIBLY fun. The music is amazing sounding, the character art is charming, and the gameplay is (moderately) fast paced. But where this game shines, it also falls. The game is HEAVILY pay to win (P2W). There’s almost no draw economy (Draws are hard to come by, and the ones you do get are fairly inefficient), and items to level abilities and such are scarce unless you’re doing draws. Unless you spend a massive amount of money or have stupid luck, you won’t make it far into the game due to the amount of people that have already pushed themselves into massive amounts of money and draws. If you’re fine with not doing Ranked Battles, Casual games are enjoyable. I wouldn’t recommend sticking to the game unless they balance things (TBH Nerf Cloud, WoL, and Kain along with giving more draws).
Micro-transaction slop. -1/100. This game is like a smoothie of all the worse mobile freemium frustration mechanics I’ve ever seen. It dose it all: timed chest rewards you pay to open early, only 3 slots for chests unless you get the battle pass, premium currency and premium(paid) currency, not being able to by exactly the amount of premium currency you need, rolling for characters and character abilities though a Gottcha, pay for power style pay to win, and so much more. This game feels like a begger broke into square and developed this game by desiccating the hopes of people who’ve been waiting for a new dissidia game since duodecim. Download and enjoy a never ending spool of gold be spun into lead!
Unfortunate. When the ranking restarts, it’s one of the most frustrating things because you get paired with a lower rank vs a higher rank. When they reset the rank it’s not fun. Probably for the higher level it is but for people that are trying to get into the game nah. Also their are broken UR that needs nerfing but the game is corrupt into you pay you win. Kinda like a casino after so many tries. I Love final fantasy but the more I play the more I feel like this isn’t fantasy. The first disidia and second was a EQUAL playing field and was NOT DETERMINED BY STATS.
Fun but has problems. I enjoy the gameplay loop. The gacha is pretty generous so far but I worry that will stop being true. Additionally I would like the dailies and season pass to take less time to complete. I work full time and can’t play all day. Decrease the xp requirements for the season pass or add boost passes to the free currency tier. Also would like to see the medal system removed because it’s really dumb.
It’s fine. It’s a functioning game that looks and plays well. Good for an hour or so but it’s just so bland in its hook that you won’t think about it after you close the app. Really wish they would just remaster the PSP game and bring the series back to a 1v1 format. 3 stars for the attempt and because it isn’t a broken mess and for some creativity in character outfits. It’s just SO gacha heavy, p2w, and uninspired progression design that keep it from being on my phone. Uninstalled.
Balancing is abysmal. Ignoring all the bad reviews that are mad at the game for having a preload. The balancing in this game is abysmal. TTK is too short, don’t have the character you got all your rare abilities on? Too bad can’t use it other than as support skills. Game really comes down to whichever team has more URs. Players can still hit you when the boss is spawning, I’ve died multiple times during boss spawn animation. Either make everyone invincible during animation or just remove it. Unless they actually decide to fix anything, game will probably EOS in a few months.
DISSIDIA is back. This is the best mobile game I’ve played in awhile. It’s perfect for phones and you can use a controller if you want. Yes, there’s gacha. But they give you unlimited rolls when first start so you can have what you want (for the most part) when you jump in. The upgrading of skills does make it p2w, BUT if you’re not good at the game no amount of money will help you. I put a lil money into this game and got waxed by players that had 1 UR skill when I had 3. SKILL MATTERS=DISSIDIA IS BACK!
Predatory and Corrupt. This game should be pulled from the App Store. It’s confusing to me why the developer was given license to use property owned by SquareEnix for the purpose of manipulating them into purchasing things. You can’t advance in this game without spending a fortune. Period. You have to spend and if you want to fully max out just ONE character you’re going to be spending either your entire life to do it or several thousand dollars. Step back, think, this game has monotonous gameplay - your first match is the same match you’re going to experience over and over again. This game is not worth spending thousands of dollars on. And you have cheaters, and a lot of them, on top of the predatory MTX methods. They are charging so much money just for the chance to draw a character, and if you want to draw a specific character it’ll cost you 5 tickets. These tickets are not cheap. Around 4 dollars a piece in total (I have the receipts, the average to gain a ticket is approx. 40 dollars) This is ludicrous. Avoid this title.
Final fantasy fans will like this. I’ve never played a dissidia game before. Nor any final fantasy mobile games. I have only played final fantasy xiii series for reference. I hope they add more ffxiii characters and add English voice acting but besides two small things this game is fun and addicting. I genuinely lost track of time as it’s almost 2am as of writing this. Give it a shot I’m excited for new updates.
Huge FF fan!!!. As a huge Final Fantasy fan, I really wanted to love DISSIDIA DUELLUM: The game has great characters and a lot of potential, but the matchmaking feels very unbalanced. It doesn’t make sense for a team with 31,000 power to constantly face teams with 46,000 power. Challenging is fine, but unfair matchups take away the fun. I’d also love to see more boss fights, community events, and co-op challenges to make the game feel more interactive. I still support the game because I love the franchise, but I hope future updates improve the balancing and community experience.
Great game with amazing potential. Truly enjoying the game, I wish there were more ways to get draw tickets and character tickets, but I do realize that there has to be ways to make a profit off this fantastic game. I think additional story elements to the game would be excellent, the unlocksble yexting and scenes are cool, but gameplay wise I feel that would be great additions
