* As featured on HomeKit Insider, Shane Whatley & 9to5Mac *

If you have ever found yourself in the situation where a battery powered HomeKit accessory has stopped working, then HomeBatteries can prevent it from happening again. HomeBatteries enables you to view all of your Apple Home device battery levels in one place and get notified before they run out of power.

HomeBatteries contains these great features:

BATTERY STATUS

View each accessoryʼs battery level as a percentage alongside a glyph which gets highlighted if it is running low. Selecting an accessory will let you see even more details about the device including charge status, trends and more.

NOTIFICATIONS

Get notified before an accessory runs out of battery with support for notifications. Notifications are fully customizable from the Settings screen.

BATTERY TRENDS

View a history of your accessory battery levels and see when it was last charged/replaced so you can determine how long a battery lasts.

WIDGETS

Add the Low Batteries & Batteries widgets to see the status of your accessories on your Home or Lock Screen.

SHORTCUTS

With deep support for Siri Shortcuts, you’ll be able to access and control many features of the app. Use your device, or even HomePod, to get battery levels, last charge date and see which accessories are running low.

APPLE WATCH

View all of your batteries at a glance with the companion Apple Watch app.

BATTERY TYPES

Set the battery type for each accessory from a preset list of options or choose your own so you know what you need when it comes to charging/replacing them.

THIRD PARTY SERVICES

HomeBatteries supports integrating with SwitchBot, using their API, to pair devices with Apple Home accessories. This means SwitchBot devices added via Matter to Apple Home can show their battery levels in HomeBatteries as SwitchBot does not support this natively.

ICLOUD SYNC

Trend data and settings for all of your accessories sync over iCloud so you can access them from your other Apple devices.

UNIVERSAL PURCHASE

Get this app across multiple Apple platforms with a single purchase. Your HomeBatteries+ subscription works across devices too.

Please note that devices should have already been setup in the Apple Home app to use this app. Not all battery powered devices expose their battery level to HomeKit and will therefore not appear in HomeBatteries or the Home app. Notifications & widgets may not be up-to-date 100% of the time due to limitations with accessing HomeKit in the background but there is a Shortcuts Automation that can be enabled to improve this. Some features may require a HomeBatteries+ subscription which can be purchased in the app. You can cancel at anytime.

HomeBatteries for HomeKit Comments & Reviews 2026

Solid app. Appreciate the ability to get notifications when a battery runs low.

Notes section?. Thanks for update. Would it be possible to include a Notes section in each accessory, so we can enter the maker of the battery being used? Just want to log which batteries are from Eneloop (Panasonic), Ladda (Ikea), Duracell, Tenergy, etc. Would also like to clear battery log. Is that option hidden? Previous: Thanks for the update with more detailed information! Would be nice if more detailed information is provided after tapping the name of the device—if it’s a camera by Eufy, motion sensor by Hue, etc.

Exactly what I was looking for!. Simple, easy to use, and does exactly what it promises. In addition, at the time of this writing, the developer is both responsive and releases timely updates. Not sure there’s anything more I could ask for. Very happy.

Amazing update in version 2.x. The number of updated and added features in version 2 made this already useful app even better. It was an instant subscribe for me. I regularly spend more than the annual subscription price on a single drink at a restaurant, and I get far less value from the drink. Thanks for continuing to add useful features to this somewhat niche app!

Lost data. It deleted all of my battery info between the last time I looked at it now. Fail.

Great idea but…. It doesn’t show battery status for Aqara sensors. Update: Note to developer. Consider updating the App description to add the detail from your reply below. Currently it states that it can show batteries from all HomeKit devices, which isn’t exactly true. It doesn’t pick up battery level from Schlage locks either (at least one other App does). Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate the App but I was bummed to learn about its limitations after buying.

Great Home Utility. I absolutely love this tool. I’m running multiple devices on Homebridge. It even identifies them. My main problem is remembering what battery goes in each device.

The best app for Smart Device Batteries. I have several HomeKit type apps that do many things and some have similar functions to thus app but just a Swiss Army knife doesn’t excel at any one thing, Home batteries is the best app I’ve found for displaying information on my devices and battery states. The new 2.0 update is awesome. Also note it’s not just subscription based there is a low one time lifetime purchase price which is what I’m on board with it. This is for battery trends. Don’t need trends? Just use it a free app!

Perfect. I absolutely love the app. Checking all my HomeKit batteries on a single screen is super helpful. And also knowing what batteries I need. Widgets are great too, seeing any low batteries without opening the app. Perfect price too.

Ridiculously high constant CPU usage. Will not end process, persistent reactivation, constant 40-60% CPU usage with constant spikes over 400%. I will not be using any of the apps from this developer any longer.

Clean and Simple. I like this app. As the title implies, the app is clean and simple. Developer communication is great, despite that the info I was looking for would’ve been self-diagnosed had I read the help section first. It’s a shame that some great and new devices from reputable manufacturers don’t send battery levels to HomeKit, but that doesn’t reflect on this app. The only thing id ask for this app to do is sync between devices.

Doesn’t work with Aqara sensors. I’m giving 5 stars because it’s not the developers fault. Aqara doesn’t expose sensor data to HomeKit. Just wanted to warn people so they can make an informed purchase.

OMG! I love it!. I have benn wanting an app like this for a long time and it’s absolutely perfect for me! I really like how it look when usung iphone/ipad dark theme. Thank you!

Terrific app for showing status in one place. I have several battery-powered HomeKit devices (flood sensors, motion sensors, door sensors, etc). It’s never easy in the Home app to determine which, if any, are nearing the end of their battery life. This app solves this problem for you. Definitely worth the modest price and the Developer was very responsive to an issue I reported with v1.0.

Works as promised!. Does it exactly what it says. I would like a place to make notes as to what battery goes in what device (ie Eve weather CR2450). It would be awesome if the app could tell me that without me entering the info, but I suspect that may be too complex.

Works as advertised. Awesome! I can now keep track of the battery level on my Aqara G4 Doorbell from my Home Screen.

Does one thing and does it well. Dirt simple app that does one thing and does it really well. It’s surprising how handy it is to just be able to see the battery status of every HomeKit device in a single screen. There’s no fluff here, no code-for-the-sake-of-code. It focuses on the task at hand and I appreciate that.

Refresh doesn't work. Check when you open the app, but refresh doesn't work even when jumping through the Shortcuts refresh garbage. Shortcuts automation failed.

Useless for Hue. Pretty useless if you have a lot of Philips Hue devices. Non of them detected with device type or battery type. Battery status or charge level isn’t shown even if you add them manually. Canceling subscription. Not worth it as is.

Just Get It. Outstanding app. Very useful if you have tons (or even just a few) of HomeKit accessories that use battery power. A great one stop shop to monitor batteries.

Paid app that went subscription. I bought this app and it went subscription. I guess that’s fine since my purchase was maintained, but when I open the app I get an ad to upgrade. It’s very annoying. There’s no option to turn it off from what I can see.

Add iCloud sync and this would be a lot more useful.. I just added all my battery details using my iPad, thinking they’d sync to my phone. But they don’t, and this likely means I’ll lose all that data if I ever have to restore from iCloud.

Works. Does exactly what it states it will do, show your battery percentage. This is a super helpful app. I’m giving the app 5 stars as it does the job. I would ask if notification’s can be added when a battery drops to a certain level. Thanks for adding notifications. This app is a must have all HomeKit users.

A must have app for your small home. Great app, very straightforward to use. Helps me keep track of many HomeKit devices with replaceable and rechargeable batteries. Saves me time by aggregating all of the battery levels in one place.

Nicely implemented status feature missing in native Home app. Well done app. A must for any Home App user with more than a few battery operated accessories.

Super handy. I’ve got a bunch of shades and other devices all bundled together. It’s a pain to see battery levels in the Home app. This app makes it super easy to check battery levels for everything - even the motion and door sensors in my security system. 5 stars.

Great simple app for monitoring batteries of HomeKit accessories. This app is a new app. It's made by an independent developer. Kudos to the developer for having the idea to make this app. The developer has implemented several cool features in the app. You're actually able to tell the app what kind of battery the devices take and also how many they take. I think the app could use a couple of simple UI fixes and the lifetime subscription of $20 is a bit steep for a simple app like this, but I'll happily pay it since it's not a large company making the app.

Notifications?. Feature request: A notification when the level of a battery drops below a user-defined percentage.

Simple but excellent. Super simple utility to keep an eye on the batteries of all your HomeKit accessories. Great job!

👏👏. Works great all battery levels are displayed.

Good idea. And a good app to keep track of multiple locations.

Covering a Gap in Home. This app is great, and covers a missing function in Apple’s own Home app by providing low battery notifications for your battery powered home accessories

Works like a charm. Works like a charm. I have about 20 battery devices each with multiple entities. Just what I was looking for. Couldn’t believe HomeKit didn’t already do this. Grateful that someone else has.

Fantastic App. This is one of my favourite apps. Monitors all battery levels in HK accessories all in one place. Elegant UI and customizable alert thresholds. I can finally see battery levels for all my gadgets in one place. Love it!
