Just sooooooo bad. Terrible app, terrible product, works about 20% of the time. Very disappointed in the whole experience, got one for each of my children (3) and none work consistently nor well at all. The app is tragic and doesn’t really do anything. If this were a Disney product it would have worked out of the box with no issues. Waste of money, DO NOT BUY unless you’re willing to throw money at a miserable over priced plastic stick! Suggestions: For the price, quality should be better on both the hardware and software Connection problems persist everywhere, this needs to be fixed App is so limited, kids got frustrated and bored even after I troubled shoot for an hour Sell your wand on eBay, this one is for the collectors

The Wand is Awful. Had it in my hands for about six hours, and in the time I’ve yet to be able to get it to work. Only 3 of the 4 grip sensor indicators are noted as working, and nowhere on the wand can I touch to get all four lit. I’ve tried every variation of holding, reset it multiple times, and even tried it on three different phones (two iPhones and a Pixel 6A). At this point I’m guessing the grip sensors themselves are the problem, and this is backed by dozens of comments on Reddit of people with the same problem. If you’re reading these reviews to decide if you want to purchase a wand, then just… don’t. It’s cheap, broken, nonsense.

Extremely limited. I bought this wand because I thought I would be able to turn on and off many smart devices in my home. I even went ahead and got smart outlets in hope I can turn things like my Christmas tree on and off. But now I know it will only connect to two type of smart lightbulbs that I don’t even own. Now that I think about it this device doesn’t connect to WiFi so I guess maybe giving commands to the phone and the phone would have to turn smart devices on and off. Whatever the case maybe this needs a huge update.

What a terrible design. I bought the Loyal wand and it didn’t work when I got it home. After a bunch of back and forth, I was shipped a replacement. I connected the new one today, and it again does not work. Does not light up, only 3 of the 4 sensors show connected. O emailed the help desk and told them I want my money back. This is absolutely ridiculous and such a poor design.

Doesn’t work with Phillips Hue Bridge like it says. My husband purchased this wand as an early wedding gift and months later we still can’t get it to connect to the lights. The app think my Phillips Hue Bridge is not setup but it is and works great. I love learning the spells but I wish it would work with my lights. It would be great if they had tutorial videos to help ensure I set up everything correctly. I purchased the expensive bridge for my wand and it still won’t work.

I love it, however, some effects can be better.. I honestly love the wand. I use it quite a few times. The app it self works well. When you select a spell it shows you more information of the spell, when it was used in the movie, and even the pronunciation of the incantation. When you preform the spell it shows an animation and a plays an audio. The issue with the audio is that most of them cut off at the end rather than fading. Another issue is when you go back to the spell list and perform any spell, the audio is shortened and won’t give the full of effect of the spell. I would love to have the full audio effect even when in the spell list section of the app. I know this is minor but it would help create the magic.

eh…. i was so hyped about this whole thing until i held the wand (which i think is a big part of the app). the box itself is great, but the wand is made of extremely light weight and poorly painted plastic. mine, honorable, isn’t glued completely in the middle so i can see the inside of it (not sure if all honorable have same problem or mine is just unlucky, either way i haven’t had any response from them) and the white swirls aren’t lined up completely. it felt cheap and not worth the $150. Please watch the reviews online, they all have the same feelings i had when i opened mine. this app is the only reason (and than the box) why i gave it stars. if they can make it connect to my devices/brand, which is not compatible yet, i may give it another star. but no way i will rate this whole product higher than three!

Awesome. The wand is absolutely awesome i’ve had trouble doing the spells but everyone has their ups and downs. the app has so many spells but in the past 2 weeks i did every single one lol. it will be cool to add some mini games with the wand to practice spells or go to classes and learn new spells. just one problem, more spells!!! we need them but beside that all harry potter fans should have this wand

Last Update Ruins the Experience. I was having trouble with getting the wand to track correctly and after a bit of research found that you guys recommend an update to the app itself. So I checked and sure enough an update was available. Now not only is it not tracking movement properly but has become so horridly sensitive that I don’t have a hope of getting the product to function. I would hope to get some sort of substantive response but considering what I’ve read in other reviews I’ll just get some bot leaving some weak cutesy reply that says nothing and leaves me infuriated.

App doesnt recognize my wand is connected. I am trying to start a duel with my friend and neither of us can at all. We each have wands connected to our phones but when you go to the profile settings or to host/join a duel. It says to connect and pair the wand every single time. This hasnt been updated in over 2-3 months and this needs to be fixed until then i’d rather just take your product and throw it in the trash at this point.

Happy with the wand but the app could be better. I love the wand, have been very happy with it. However, I’m disappointed that no more spells have been added other than what we have now. I’d like to see all the other spells from the series added, such as the snake summoning spell, other transfiguration spells, if be happy if even the unforgivable curses were added. I just want to see more done with this app. Disappointed more isn’t done with the magic caster wand

Good App. Fun Toy. Wish it had more.. I compare the wand that you buy for this app to the extendable lightsaber toys from star wars. It’s a lot of fun as a novelty item. Kids will love it even without any of the smart device support. I wish there was more utility since communicating with a few smart devices around the home has already been implemented. The wand costs $150 dollars. Please allow me to cast alohamora so that I can unlock my front door with my smart lock! I want to be able to cast protego to arm my home’s security system. Implement IFTTT! Home Assistant! Release an api! Something!

was SO excited...now just disappointed. The wand is absolutely gorgeous in the box and looks to be very cool; however, it works with about three devices literally. Initial pre-order info was a bit deceiving I think about that. It will not connect to my Bluetooth speaker but I'm going to keep trying a bit longer. The tutorials are lacking and there is literally no support and some of the tutorial videos are just seconds long. The wand is a bit touchy and a little tough to get just the right grip hold as it has to be held a very specific way. They say there will be more devices added later and I certainly hope so or I have just wasted a lot of money. I was so incredibly excited about this product and now it has fallen very short of expectations and I am just disappointed and sad...

First Impressions: Wow!. Decided to download the app a little early while I wait for my wand to ship and I was impressed. I love the app so far! It already has so many different spells to learn and they plan to add more. The artwork for each spell is really cool and it brings back classic scenes from the movies which adds a nice touch. My only critique would be that it needs more supportable devices because the current list is very limited but I know they plan on rolling out more over time so at least they’ve addressed it! Great app so far!

Sensors. I was so excited for my wand Sadly, the sensors aren’t picking up my hands. I’ve reset it a couple of times and still won’t pick up my fingers oddly enough when it does work the sensitivity of the motion is out of control Hopefully an update will help

Not Alexa or google compatible. It says it can talk to lights, speakers and tv’ but there is just minimal support. There are two light bulb types it can talk to and they cost about $40 per bulb. The interface to blue tooth speakers is through your phone. The control to tvs only works if you have Apple TV. If that all is ok with you and your ok with $150 price tag for a wand that has cool colors then this might be the wand for you. But for someone like me who wanted to interface with Alexa then I’m out of luck until they get that working.

Wishing the advertised functions worked. Disappointed to say the least. Frustrating at best. We purchased this for our 10 yo including LIFX bulbs and while it recognizes the bulbs it will not pair them. As many have said this app needs work. Getting the calibration and connectivity (even to the few compatible devices) issues would be a huge plus and help this app and wand work as advertised. Hoping these bugs are fixed soon as our return window closes in just a couple weeks.

Great app!!. I love this concept, but I wish the spells were harder to obtain because I completed all the spells in 15 minutes. So keep adding more spells and maybe some unforgivable curses?!?!

Too hard to use. Don’t buy this wand, it’s way too difficult for a tween to use. It seems fun, being able to control smart bulbs or a tv with a wand, but just results in intense frustration because even the simplest spell is too hard to do. It’s incredibly sensitive and unforgiving. I tried it myself, and I found it hard to learn because the app really doesn’t give good instructions. Save your money. I’d rate this 0/5 if the scale went that low.

Horrible App, Cheap (yet very expensive) wand. The app does not work at all. When trying to cast to the TV, the TV directs you to the app and the app directs you to the TV. The app is so sensitive it’s impossible to use. It’s infuriating. The wand is so cheap. The box is amazing, the wand itself looks and feels like it’s from the dollar store. Very light weight, not fully painted, it’s so disappointing. If I could give the app and the wand negative stars, I would.

Works with Hue?. I cannot get this to connect to my Philips Hue at all. What I mean is, the app and the Hue bridge see each other, but there is no control or change in any of the connected devices. They are on the same WiFi, they see one another but just nothing happens with successful wand commands. App support sends me the same link of how to connect. It’s connected just doesn’t work. For the limited integrations I would expect one of the 2 to work.

Amazing but needs an update. The wand is amazing and feels like I am actually casting spells! After a long time fan of HP, they really need to add new spells. I mean, the only spells that I really want are the three unforgivable curses. Avada Kedavra would be so cool! Thats really all though, otherwise it is a really good wand! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS!!!!

FIX THE APP. So I just got my wand today and I was so excited but then after 5 minutes I was disappointed. First the sensors are god awful, you can only connect to Philips hue lights which I don’t have, you can only connect to Apple TV. Waste of 150$ in my opinion. Wanna make it better. Have more options for the light connections. Same with the tv. I have a Roku so add that as an option as well.

There’s a common theme here, fix the app and the product. Cheaply made plastic wand, a beautiful idiot of an app that doesn’t connect to smart lights, which I purchased with a hub just because I got the wand for a gift and wanted to make full use of it. The wand is connected and reads the lights but doesn’t do anything even though it connects to and operates speakers. There is no customer we service help and I am considering demanding a refund. Excellent idea, poorly developed product. I hope you start thinking of AR and home applications to make the $150 worth it for my poor family member who bought a toy worth all of about 40 bucks.

In-App experience. I thought I had a broken wand as the grip sensors did not work. Interestingly, when the app is not open the wand it’s self actually seems to cast spells.. not sure what’s wrong as this is the newest version of the app. Not worth spending the $150 to find out the app didn’t work. This is something they should have had figured out before launching it. Very anti-climactic.

Zero if I could. It’s an overpriced piece of plastic. Once you do the spells, there is nothing else to accomplish. We at least thought it would be cool to control our Hue lights with it. However, I’ve been back and forth with support for months, with no luck. Today they told me the app has been updated to fix this issue. Nope. Not for me. I am very experienced with technology and I’ve never been more frustrated. This was a rushed, not ready for prime time, piece of garbage. AVOID. You’ve been warned.

Good app. I like the app it is great to teach you how to do spells. But I can not buy a wand which is annoying because I want to learn all the spells and how to do the spells. If you can me buy the wand or unlock the spells for me would be great.

Issues since day one. Unhelpful support.. I have had nothing but issues with this product since its original purchase in 2022. I have reached out to support several times explaining that the application is an issue and does not connect the wand to my Hue smart bulbs. Their feedback was that the wand needed to be replaced. I wished I could make them understand that the wand never had an issue connecting to the app, it was that the app would not talk to Philips Hue. After many resets on multiple devices, multiple Reddit threads, and a year of updates, the wand still does not work and the support team behind this product has yet to understand the app is faulty and has many issues. The product has yet and most likely will never support the basic functions I purchased it for. Very disappointed at not only the product but the customer service behind it. Please do not purchase this device until they have resolved their terrible app.

Needs more content and be less sensitive. I love this wand. Got it for Christmas and couldn’t put it down. Mastered the spells in like 5 mins. Had to wait I don’t remember how many weeks for the next update, again, got the spells mastered and done in 5 mins as well. One of my main issues trying to master Lumos Maxima. It took me and my mom like 100 tries to do so, until we finally “mastered it” Another one of my issues is the lack of adding new spells. I would check like every other week-month and no new spells. It’s kinda making me loose interest, I’ll still play with it though. One more note, maybe add more movie clips to play for the spells. Like Arania Exumei for example or other clips that the spell was in. I love what you’ve done so far. Keep making great content and BRING MORE SPELLS OUT SOON! I’m getting tired of waiting!

The TV app isn’t working. I have a Firestick TV and it is updated but when I try to download the app, it says unavailable even though the app on the TV doesn’t work the wand is great.

Needs a little help. For thr most part, it’s a great app to go along with the wand. But…some of the spells need tweaking. Lumos and Lumos Maxima are too similar. Furthermore, Lumos Maxima is the only spell that gives me trouble without fail every single time. The shape is too small or something.

app is not accessible. I am completely blind and I am a huge fan of Harry Potter. The spell book in the magic caster app is not accessible for people who are blind. This is because while there are images of the wand motions, the motions are not described in writing so there is no way I could cast the spells with the magic caster wand without asking someone else for help. I was considering buying the magic caster wand but there is no point if I can't cast the spells myself. You should include written descriptions for how to perform the various wand motions so that people who are blind can use the magic caster wand.

I love it so much but I am stupid. I love this app bc it tells me all the spells but when I downloaded it I thought it worked with the wand I got from universal studios in dum for that but over all this is a great app for people who has the magic caster

Just terrible, simple as that. Developers of this terrible product need to take a hint. It's been said over and over by the countless people who bought this thing and all experienced the same issues. The product is just awful, it is cheap, unreliable, provides no utility, and completely misrepresented what everyone thought we were getting when we ordered this. The answer is simple, you must integrate actual smart home functions that provide real use or just be quiet and refund everyone's money for false advertising. No amount of suggestions, advice, or shameless boasting will ever make up for lying to everyone with the initial announcement.

Not even connecting.. After the first three days of getting this wand, I was loving it. I liked all the spells they were all working significantly. After eight days of having this, I realized today that it wasn’t even connecting to the app, and I have uninstall this app and reinstalled it, and it still has not worked. I don’t know why my wand has not been connecting to the app. I have tried various times, and it still hasn’t worked. I’m thinking of returning, but I’m not sure whether it’s the type of wand, it is because I have the Honorable wand and for some reason it’s just not connecting anymore and I and gripping the sensors when I don’t want it to turn on. They really need to update this app.

The magic is real!. Being able to cast a spell and have something in the physical world react has been incredible!! Thank you. ❤️ The possibilities seem endless - I can’t wait to see what else are added to this over time!

Love it. I’m so happy with my wand. The sensor is sensitive, but I didn’t find it too hard to figure out. It casts correctly every time!! I hope in the future this app might develop some minigames to play with the wand, like practicing spells or playing interactive games where you have to produce a patronus or break into a locked vault. Something where you have to use your knowledge of spells to win. For right now, I’ll walk around my dark apartment and cast lumos. I haven’t connected it to hue lights yet, but seeing others reviews apparently it only makes a little light show. I was hoping to be able to turn lights on and off with it, so hopefully that is something developers take into consideration and make possible!

well, its not magic. i need someone to explain to me in full detail how i can master lumos maxima i tried it on my ipad and iphone fully charged wand and grip im doing the exact movement but nothing comes to fruition not even ONCE. every other spell is fine?? sometimes it glitches into the wrong spell when youre not specifically on the spell's page. anyway LUMOS MAXIMA PLS I NEED POINTS

Don’t buy, if it doesn’t work they won’t let you return!. My wand won’t work right. It’s painful for me to hold (it has 4 grip sensors and you HAVE to hold it the way they expect or it won’t work). And mine seems to have a drift problem making it impossible to use. I worked with their support for over a week to no avail. The return window is 30 days from date of receipt, and due to the slowness of their responses (and their tendency to only try addressing 1 issue, ignoring the other), I finally gave up on support and requested a return. After a full week they finally replied saying they needed me to send more info before they can start the return process. I replied with that info and waited over 2 weeks with no response. I emailed them again asking about my return and they replied that they can start a return but wanted to know why first (I had sent multiple support requests prior to this so THEY SHOULD ALREADY KNOW). I explained BOTH problems, and clarified I was bothered they were making me repeat this, and they just replied AGAIN with the same steps their support had ALREADY given me, which again ignore one of my issues COMPLETELY). THEY have to initiate the return process, and at this rate they are sandbagging me closer and closer to the end of 30 day return window.

Love it! -Lumos Maxima doesn’t work.. I love the app so far, and I’m enjoying learning the spells. However, Lumos Maxima doesn’t accept any wand movements no matter how accurate. Lumos works, as well as every other spell I’ve mastered so far, but Lumos Maxima is glitched.

Promising start. The wand itself is made from some cheap plastic, but the sensors and lights make for a good experience. I got through all the spells in about an hour. When it advertised interaction with Philips hue, I immediately imagined tying gestures from the wand to turning on or off lights, and maybe tying home automation scenes to the gestures. Sadly, it doesn’t seem like they have the intention of going that route. The Nox gesture can turn off the lights, but all the lights; not individual rooms or anything. The hue lights are just to compliment the wands light show. So that’s disappointing. The app crashed my first time setting it up, and the wand wouldn’t work right. I had to delete, reinstall, and go through the onboarding flow before it started working right.

Censors. I just got my honorable wand today. I absolutely love it, but the one thing that is getting to me is the censors. I wouldn’t have my fingers on them, and it would still read as casting. And when I go to do a wand movement it will either cast a different spell, or stay blue till I disconnect it.

It’s great but. You should add more spells I finished all of them in two days. You should also make it so you can get a higher level even when you completed the spells.

Excitement met with disappointment. The graphics on this app are beautiful. The wand that goes with it is even more so. That’s about all the good I can say. It seems like the whole product and technology was rushed. The spell casting on the app makes zero sense. The calibration was far from perfect, the motion detection was too sensitive, and the “spell lines” you’re casting can’t be erased from attempt to attempt. Clumsy app. Clumsy device. Returning the wand and deleting the app.

Inconsistent. It all started pretty fun but pretty soon I realized that the app on apple tv doesn’t work very well every time (sometimes the effects don’t work properly), the app doesn’t seem to work properly with hue lights- it says everything’s connected but nothing happens when I cast my spells. Their support team didn’t provide any solutions so far. If this is not resolved soon, I will have to return the wand.

Wand calibration issues!. Such a fun idea, but my Honorable want never syncs properly and wants exact precision on some spells and not others. I wish there was a way to better improve the sentivity

Cool but has bugs. Got the caster wand as a Christmas gift from the wife as I'm a huge DnD/BP fan. I love the app and the spells and the sense of progress by leveling up. But a big reason for the wand was because of HUE integration which does not work at all. Can connect to my bridge but none of the spells thst affect hue (according to website) do anything to my hue lights.

Having fun but…. I’m having a lot of fun playing around on the app and tv, but only about half of my lights seems to link, and only the light strip seems to do anything! And then if I use nox it turn off but doesn’t come back on with Lumos?! Update please!

Cool concept, horrible design flaws. I love it and I like the whole concept and idea but I can’t get my wand to work the way it needs to and I hold it where you’re supposed to but it won’t work and it’s not even showing up on the grip sensors in the app that I’m even holding it even when I’m squeezing it as hard as I can it still won’t do anything, if you improve it I’ll give it a higher rating.

Awesome toy!!. I’m a huge Harry Potter fan. The wand is only sold in America and the UK but I managed to get one bought in America and shipped to me in Australia. One of the coolest things I own!!

Which Wand?. I bought a wand from the universal studios FL, and searched on Google if I could use it and it said this app was perfect! But it turned out they are selling separate wand for $150.00 just to use this app. They should add another feature where you can add other wands too or something. But it is kind of cute.

Disappointing. Can’t even login to my Wizarding World account. Keeps saying my info is wrong, when I know it’s not. I’ve logged into my using a web browser, so I know my info is correct.

Wand?. I got this app and when I opened it it said I needed my wand. Knowing the app was made my Warner bros I figured it was the wand I had bought at universal. Calibration is terrible. Im not even making a gesture and the gesture tracker is all over the place. Can’t even cast the simplest spells. Either the app is terrible or the wand is defective either way, I’m returning this piece of trash and getting my money back.

Think it’s time for a lawsuit. Bought 2 wands, light strand with HomeKit, a light bulb and even a new iPad to use the wand and neither the Apple IPhone app or the iPad app will work. There is only 1 that will and that is my husbands phone. All that money spent and not able to use the wand on the devices it’s supposed to.

Broken wand. The wand doesn’t respond to grip. Actually, the opposite, it always thinks it is being held and therefore cannot cast spells. Really disappointed and hoping a software update could change the sensitivity.

Not connecting to anything. I could use some help and don’t know who to reach out to. I can’t get the app to connect to my Apple TV or properly recognize my Philips Hue devices. The app will sync with the wand and box but that’s about it. I spent a lot of money on this, I’d like to get it working.

Philips Hue. Apparently if you have multiple hue bridges in your home (very common) the app does not pair properly with a bridge.

No langlock?. Lvl 45 some how bugged with all spells mastered, stuck at 10,480 /10,500 exp. App worked nicely wand connected quickly on both ios and android. Excited for more spells wish it worked with more smart devices (ie roku , and more Wi-Fi lights the one they do work with is 35$ a bulb :D

Does not work with hue lights. When trying to connect to hue, a list comes up repeating the name of a single bulb. If I select one, all of them get selected. Then nothing happens and I can’t refresh my lights or interact with them. This is totally unacceptable for a $150 product. I bought two of them so this is a complete rip off and they should not have shipped the app with such major bugs that are a core part of the experience. Furthermore, it lacks general Android TV support.

Wand wont connect. I spent $60 on a wand just to find out that the app is HORRIBLE because the wand I bought will NOT connect to the app now I have a USELESS piece of plastic JUNK that I can’t use don’t buy a wand it’s a waste of money.

You need a wand. This game does NOT AT ALL work if you don’t have a wand. They don’t even sell them anymore, so this was just a fat waste of time. In conclusion, don’t get this if you don’t have a magic caster wand.

Not satisfied. I was so excited to get the wand , but my hue lights is not working with app I did all the steps and it’s keep giving me the dragon bogies error that had no answer on the support page please fix all those issue before selling the item online

Wands-good.App-bad.. Love my wands but this app is terrible when it comes to cal/movement. You can follow perfectly to a spell and fail yet when you set a wand down to take a break, it perfectly cast it.

Does not work!. You cannot cast a spell with this, it’s way too sensitive and the wand doesn’t stop registering. Do Not buy it!

Spell Casting Magic!. Love learning how to cast all of the spells and being able to duel with friends.

Cool concept, poor execution. “Santa” got it for my daughter. Box and anticipation is cool until you feel the cheap wand. App doesn’t work well. App keeps freezing and loosing connection with wand. Disappointed.

A LOT OF THE PROBLEMS ARE USER ERROR. First let me start off saying Christmas was great with both myself and wife getting our wands and casting spells all morning. 100% works with all the Phillips hue smart lights throughout the out and the effects of the spells ripple to whatever lights you want to sync with. YES you can turn off and on you bedroom lights with the wand! PROBLEMS I SEE PEOPLE WITH *(No charging indication) - the wand should lite up like battery bars glowing in an effect showing it charging . Then stays blue when it’s done . The red light on the box is an indication of the box charging. *(not activating) - you have to hold it specifically we found this out being my wife is left handed it was working for me and not her at first . Quick change of positioning of her hands she’s able to use it just as well as me. *(not showing you let go to finish a spell) - mine came out the box perfect , my wife’s app froze while it was setting up and calibrating. Hers wouldn’t show connection and when it did. Would not show she let go of the spell (removing thumb). Soo I disconnect both our wands from our devices and swapped the wand and devices and back and they worked perfectly . My wife was a happy camper all morning . (Slight Christmas ruined scare ) 🤣🙏🏼 *(how to reset the want) go to devices and press the icon of the wand 7 times and then home on the next and a window will come up asking to reset . Closing the app does now reset the wand. Hope this helps anyone having issues! And yes I agree the want could be more quality but I think it would interfere with the haptics 👍🏻

Why won’t it work?. I just got this from my dad for my birthday. The app just shows a screen of Harry holding a wand and it’s all dark. The app isn’t doing anything else. How can I use the wand if the app is supposed to teach me to use it, but the app doesn’t work?

Wand calibration issues!. Such a fun idea, but my Honorable want never syncs properly and wants exact precision on some spells and not others. I wish there was a way to better improve the sentivity

Manage your expectations. I bought a wand for my girlfriend for Christmas. I chose the Honorable wand. - Setup Very tricky. I have smart speakers, an LG OLED C1 and an Apple TV. While I paired to each, the only success I had was by the Apple TV. Downloading the app onto the Apple TV did allow us to see the animations after successfully (or unsuccessfully) performing a spell. - Wand Impressions The Box and opening ceremony were cool. My girlfriend was absolutely delighted. The speakers on the box are fairly low quality, so I do agree with those who’ve said the sound is very tinny/sharp. Overall box seems to be of good quality. Felt lined. The box lighting up with the wand when you perform spells was unexpected but added some immersion. The wand itself is a mixed bag. I love the design, as does my girlfriend, but it is made of cheap looking/feeling plastic. You can also see the seams from the molding very easily. Worse yet, when the wand glows, the light shines through said seams. The haptic feedback is nice. My girlfriend knew nothing of this product and after casting her first spell, her eyes lit up as the wand vibrated and changed colors. Using the wand itself takes some getting used to. Watching tutorials online was more helpful than the official ones in the apps. You don’t need to hold the wand tightly to use it. After you get the hang of it, casting and learning new spells is very quick and easy, even for some of the more difficult ones. - Magic Caster App My girlfriend enjoyed the fact that there are little tidbits about how each spell relates to the movies. I personally found the animations to be a bit lackluster. We haven’t tried the patonus yet. I think some work could be done to make using the wand more intuitive via the app. I’m very tech oriented, and having to utilize third party YouTube videos to learn how to use the wand shouldn’t be required. - Overall thoughts My girlfriend is delighted, so I’m delighted. However, I don’t feel the urge to buy one for myself. I don’t have Hue Lights (I use a Govee TV backlight. Would like to see support there), so outside of the three TV animations and spell payoffs, there’s not much usage for me. Hopefully more general features will be added. Would like to use it as an Apple TV remote replacement for example. I think 150 is a bit much for the current set of features and build quality of the wand itself. Maybe at sub $100, this would be a better recommendation. As it stands, unless you’re a VERY hardcore HP fan, I don’t see this app sustaining your interest for longer than a few days.

Very disappointed. So so disappointed in my early Christmas gift. The tracking does not work. I cannot cast spells with the app. It does not work! Waste of money!

Doesn’t Work with Hue As Advertised. This product doesn’t work with Hue products as advertised.

Hue lights aren’t working at all. I set the wand up originally on android where I discovered that you could only sync a maximum of 3 hue lights. So then I installed the app and set it up on my iPad Air 5th generation. The app detected my hue lights and showed that they were all installed. I can turn them on or off in the app and it shows all the correct names, but the hue lights do nothing when being controlled by the iPad app. I’ve tried reinstalling the magic caster wand app and removing and adding the hue lights back but nothing. It appears it is not working with hue lights at all on the iPad version of the app which is what the advertisements for the $150 wand primarily showcased. Such a disappointment and reflects terribly on both the Harry Potter and Warner Brothers brand. I sent an email a few days ago asking to refund the wand but have not yet received a response.

Total disappointment. I was very excited to receive this wand. The box with light and music was great when it worked. Now nothing, it won’t even take a charge. The wand never worked properly and the app is a total disaster! I’m afraid this my be going back.

Update or delete app. This app is so horrible. I can’t recalibrate it or do anything to fix it. I want my money’s worth in this app and it’s not. The developers need to either update this app or delete it completely and start over

Very little opinions. Please make this compatible with more devices.. the light bulbs that it works with now are 45.00 a piece, and I see the app on my fire stick, but it’s only compatible with fire tv or cube(which is 300+ dollars) I would love to do more with this very expensive wand besides leveling up on spell practice

The TV app isn’t working. I have a Firestick TV and it is updated but when I try to download the app, it says unavailable even though the app on the TV doesn’t work the wand is great.

It’s so so bad. The app is worse than the wand. The wand is very bad. The app was not well thought out. The team clearly just built an app that does stuff. Without thinking through the total journey. It’s bad. Very bad.
