Meaningful Practice in Motivating Game. I prefer this program over others that work on facts because users need to compose factors (or addends if adding) rather than drill and kill their math facts. This is better for those working on strategy than those looking for fact fluency as it is not a fast paced game.

The Most Engaging Math App Ever!. My son was intrigued by this app from the minute he picked it up! From the "Mystery" theme, and the manner in which you are guided through the app by a friendly ghost, who helps you on your quest to free all of the fireflies by solving math problems, this app is a winner! With eye-catching graphics, the ability to customize which math problems your child encounters, from different levels of addition, subtraction, and multiplication, as well as the inclusion of dominoes and tally marks, the app is extremely customizable as well as very entertaining! I highly recommend it!

Really fun. All 3 of my kids love this app - and it helps with their math practice. It is just plain fun! I would recommend it anyone that wants to have their kids practice math in a fun way.

No Sound. I would love to use this app, however, I keep downloading and get no sound. Very sad

Excellent for Special Needs Kids Too!. As a homeschooling mom to a son with autism, I am always searching for apps that have a balance between being fun and educational. I need something that will challenge him without frustrating him when he makes mistakes or gets confused by an overly complicated design. Mystery Math Town has that magic balance of visual, auditory and intellectual stimulation that keeps him engaged and learning for longer than most other math apps so far!

Mystery Math Town is my kind of town!. Just bought this app for my niece who loves Reading, Math not so much. From the minute she began playing, she couldn't stop. The real mystery about this game is that she was actually learning basic algebra skills by using logical reasoning to solve math problems; all the while rescuing fireflies and unlocking rooms. Mystery Math Town is a great Educational app which not only helps children strengthen basic math skills but also allows them to focus on character development. She loved creating her own Avatar and also learning the story of each gallery portrait, Mystery Math Town is my kind of town.

Add Another Win!!. Our five year old latched onto the artwork of the icon and launched right into this intuitive app. After some initial play we did need to adjust the settings from global math down to his appropriate kindergarten level as the multiplication and large numbers are above his scope yet if artgig continues making these great games are little one's skills will be stellar in no time!!! Great entertainment/education mix!!!

Don't buy. I feel dumb for buying this game for my daughter. I can't tell you how many rooms give you a math problem and they don't give you the right numbers for the solution. It's boring, too. It's the same thing, house after house. Yuk!!!

WOW. This app is perfect for learning. My child, 4, loves it and has learned to do math while having so much fun. Really, really wonderful. He likes to choose the doors, gets very excited about finding the fireflies, and simply adores the talking portraits (his favorite part). I'm thrilled to have found an app that motivates him to learn math. Love the skills level choice! Would suggest updates that grow with the kid's skills level. New portraits, new interactive things, surprises. I would pay a little more each time.

Engaging!. This is a super fun app! My 1st grader said this is her new favorite "game". Initially easy, it gets a little harder and requires math strategy. She had to keep a little scratch pad for adding and subtracting larger numbers to see which combo would work. If allowed, the child could use guesses as it doesn't penalize for wrong answers, but I would not let her do that and made her work out the problems for herself if she was stuck. The graphics and animation are super fun and funny too. Hunting through the rooms is a challenge in and of itself. The ghosts are lighthearted, not scary at all. Also like that you can have multiple "players" and it keeps track of your progress. My 1st grader was motivated by this app and excited to continue play! A great buy.

My Kids love this app!. This app can be modified to the level of your child's mathematical needs...up to division and multiplication (probably good up to 3rd-4th grade math). The best part of this game is that the player has to come up with the equation to solve the problem, and there are multiple choices of numbers, so it is more challenging that the route memorization of equations. My kids love exploring the houses, and rescuing the fireflies! ALSO, I had a problem with the sound (really it was MY problem, in MY settings), but I received IMMEDIATE feedback from the company helping me to fix the issue (which, again, was on MY end!). Anyway, very happy with the app and the support team. Worth every penny (which really isn't so much when you compare it to a cup of coffee!!)!!

Math town. Math town is a wonderful app that lets you do sooo many things. For the parents, you can pick what your child learns. There is - + x and division. You get to have awesome time! It is my favorite game! I hope you enjoy!

Developers were very responsive when we had a question too. *Tip- collect the extra numbers in your drawer to use later in the game:)

Fun math app for my 5 year old. He's having fun adding and subtracting while he's saving the fireflies. Nice visuals and sound effects. He's not ready for multiplication or division yet but we'll give it a shot once he saves them all and want's to play again.

This game is entertaining and makes hard math problems easy to solve. Math Town is an excellent game to teach children how to love math. All and all, I rate Math Town a 5 out of 5.

Perfect for my 7-year-old!. This game is beautifully made and definitely keeps my first-graders interest as he adds, multiplies and tries to figure out the mystery.

Learning basic math made fun. My daughter enjoys the app and her math skills have been improving, she's doing better in school evaluations and can do more calculations in her head. We have 3 others math apps from Artgig (Marble Math which she still plays a lot and, Alien Buddies & Number Neighborhood which are both for preschoolers but my nieces & nephews love playing). One I got for free on apps gone free and the other 3 I payed for. Either way she liked them all and so do my nieces and nephews. Now they offer them in a bundle which is more recent I guess, but would have been well worth it for me considering how much we've gotten out of them. The only one we don't have yet is Mystery Math Museum which I will get. Would like to see them come out with something for spelling, & maybe science & geography as well.

fantastic app.. Purchased this app today and let my 2 boys at it, and watched them for about 20 minutes. wow, they were riveted. they would fight over who get a turn to do the next level. What is nice about the app is a blend of game and math. I could see they were so engrossed to get through doors/flight of stairs and do mental math to solve, that they were forgetting to even release the fireflies. Seriously, this app is sure to sharpen the skill of kids who have figured out basic counting and develop on top of it. Good work guys.

Best math game for my six year old boy. I've tried plenty of math apps and this one is the most engaging for him. It's a great game.

Kids Forget To Hate Math. This app has been the BEST so far for my 3rd and 5th graders to hone their mental math skills. It's a really fun game that's engaging for all levels. I love that I can control what kinds of problems they're getting. They're so motivated to get through each door, they forget to hate the math problems they have to do to get there. Worth the money!!

I'm in LOVE with Mystery Math Town!. Mystery Math Town offers various customizations for addition, subtraction, and multiplication which may be practiced separately or simultaneously. Students may practice numerous skill levels within each category as well. And the game which has been created to practice these skills is quite fantastic. By properly forming number sentences and correctly identifying fact families, children are able to open doors, climb ladders, or unlock windows to collect fireflies and earn coins which will reveal a mystery story. There are no timers, which eliminates the possibility of high frustrations due to time constraints. This means children can move at a comfortable pace, learning and absorbing basic math facts at a natural momentum with better absorption leading to a more complete learning experience of the skills being utilized. And regardless of the child's age, all learners will find successful enjoyment of use because it was not designed solely towards the standard early-age emerging learners. The app is an absolute dream because kiddos WANT to use it... especially my kiddos! And nothing could be more beautiful in my eyes:-) Parents and teachers alike will find it excellent for neuro-typical learners, a-typical learners, and/or learners who may be struggling due to LDs and/or slow processing issues. I love it so much, I've deleted all other similar apps from my iPad because not only do I feel confident this one will do exactly what I wish, I know this is the only one my children will use regularly without argument. Well done!!!

Love this app!. This is a great maths app for kids. The graphics are quirky and beautiful, and the idea simple but original. My seven and four year olds both love this, even though both usually tire very quickly of apps that are too 'educational'. The ability to change the difficulty of the maths and to log in as different players is particularly useful. Please make more apps like these!

Finally a math app that does more than.... just let kids push buttons and answer questions. I love this app because kids have to actually formulate equations to get through the game. It is customizable and like other Artgig apps so well made. They look good, work well and don’t have a lot of the stuff you don’t want in an app. There are no social media share buttons or in app purchases to worry over. More things to do!!!. The game should have something to do after you finish with the fireflies. And you make an avatar and it doesn't show up in the game.and how do you collect the picture fames it doesn't tell you I tap on them but I doesn't show up in the gallery. But the picture frames are funny.

glitchy. we were on level 4 and got to a point where the math problem was insolvable using the numbers given (?x? = 30). i had to shut the game down and picked it back up tonight while my son was asleep to see if maybe i was missing something, but i wasn't. so i gave up and used one of the life preserver hints to finally finish up that level. i was going to take a screenshot and send it to the gaming company, but didn't bother.
