Perfect app for practicing jazz improvisation. Great app! Lead sheet + very high quality playalong. The last reviewer must have been confused by the titles of the songs in this app because these are undeniably the most important tunes for a jazz musician to know: Blues, Rhythm Changes, All the Things You Are, Autumn Leaves, Stella by Starlight and So What. They have been cleverly renamed, presumably to avoid copyright issues. I use this app when I teach jazz piano - beginning and intermediate improvisers NEED to know these songs. They are staples of the jazz repertoire. I love the mixer feature - an element of control you won't get from Aebersolds.

Wow!!! Must have. Both Volumes.. I am a professional Jazz drummer. I literally just played a gig with Darek Oles. So let me make it clear, that at any level of musicianship, this is an AMAZING practice/warmup tool! Just tuning your time to the click on a daily basis is a critical discipline for being a good listener while you perform. With this tool, I get that, but I can warm up with my virtual version of my friend Darek, with or without click, at each tempo and style. This will be a must have for all my students.

This great app is broken. The latest iOS versions have broken this stellar app. It is an awesome and great sounding, with some truly wonderful musicians, but it is broken and hopefully will be fixed

A+ app 100% fun. I'm not a pro musician but I'm in love with this app. Very easy to use. Recording is very helpful to check your progress.

Doesn't play properly on iPhone 4. This is a great idea but the apps don't play without stuttering on the iPhone 4. I have a lot of music apps that work fine on this iPhone so it seems to be the apps themselves. I don't see any warning about hardware minimum requirements. If you don't have a recent phone, don't buy this.

Great learning system.. I am a lifelong drummer, rock, funk, country. Finally at 50 I am finally learning to swing! This has been fantastic accompaniment tool to develop my play!

Waste of money. Not sure who wrote the favorable reviews but this is NOT worth the money. A lot better apps out there for less. If it had been $2.99 maybe.

U gotta be kidding me. 6 songs that aren't even super popular standards. This is NOT like the real book or irealB software or aebersold. Not worth $12 or $1

Does Not Work. The app does not work and you cannot report a problem or open app support either. Nothing will play or record so it is completely dead and I feel like I just got scammed out of my ten dollars. Very dissatisfied!

Amazing !!!!. What am amazing app/tool!! This is a must have for any player who, like myself, has a live for Jazz and has studied it some but doesn't get nearly enough opportunities to play out in a Jazz setting. Chops will rust no more 😃

Very enjoyable app!. Really beautiful arrangements of the most obvious jam choices for when musicians get together. I guess the title "Jazz Essentials" says it all. How often do you get to jam with jazz superstars? It's worth the money. I play bass but didn't bother muting the bass, I just solo or walk depending on what I feel like doing. Thanks Peter, I'll buy any more volumes that you create!
