Lectionary reading PLUS yearly reading. With this app one can keep up with podcast of reading through Orthodox Bible in a year on Ancient Faith. One can also keep up with lectionary reading from yearly calendar that the Church year follows, plus many more features.

OSB. Excellent App. Always have the osb wherever I go. And it is laid out very neatly.

Easy to navigate. I have this bible on kindle but this is the best. It is easy to find things. Many apps are difficult but not this one. My only regret is why I waited so long to purchase it. Greatest gift I gave myself.

Awesome App! Highly Recommend!. The Orthodox Study bible is a great resource for any and all Christians. I was recommended a physical copy from my priest which I got and love. However, the physical copy is very large in size and doesn’t really leave the house. The app does everything the book does and more, my favorite feature is giving the daily readings I made a goal to read the Bible everyday that really helps. The best part is your bible can come with you wherever you go, even without an internet connection. I would recommend this to any Christian who wants to invest more in their faith, and I can’t say enough good things about the book itself either. Have a blessed day.

Got me to read. I have had two different hard copies of this for years and have never picked them up. I am very proud to say that my New Year's resolution for 2016 was to read the Bible. With the HELP of this app I have successfully read the OT and NT! My son and I each read it following the "chronological plan". Thank you so much for making this version. I look forward to reading the daily readings and additional prayers as needed.

Love this app. Thank you to whoever compiled this. Only suggestion would be linking biblical references in the footnotes for convenience sake. Maybe just a pop up that shows the scripture referenced? May our Lord bless whoever reads this with mercy, understanding and joy. Amen.

Great convenient app!. I love the layout of this app. It has all of the information in the study bible within the app, and it keeps track of where you left off last within each section. For example, if you read Wisdom chapter 1 yesterday, it will say that this is the last chapter of Wisdom you read when you choose it as the book of the Bible you wanted to read. I am Protestant, but I am coming to appreciate and value many things out of the Orthodox tradition because of this study bible!

iCloud backup/note-taking. Great app! Wish there was a way to type out personal notes and switch between different color highlights, that would definitely be a plus for me. My only concern is the iCloud backup. I have been having issues syncing from my phone to tablet as it crashes. However, I’m sure this can be resolved with a software update. Keep up the good work!

Best bible app out there hands down. AWESOME APP!!! Looked at many other bible apps and this is the one if your looking for something with more spiritual depth. Love the topical articles, daily readings, and all the extras it has to offer. I use it everyday and just wish there was more reading material in the topical articles. Other than that this is the bible app to get, well worth the money.

My Favorite App for 2014. I've had this app for a while -but just started using it. I love the way I can now have the daily readings, prayers and additional helpful Orthodox information all in one place. I would love the Prologue attached too - but I am very content with this! Thank you for providing it! I use it the most on my IPad by the way.

Needs more work. It wasn’t what I expected it to be, I was hoping for more features. There are no options to add or write margin notes which can be extremely helpful if using an iPad with an Apple Pencil. Also you're forced to highlight one complete verse, instead of being able to choose what you prefer to highlight. If I knew it was this limited I would've never purchased it and just used Coptic Reader which is free. Can you please put in a feature to use different color highlights and to be able to add margin notes for the readers own records?

OSB. This is a great app for any Orthodox Christian. It comes in handy when you need to look up a verse or when your on the go or out and about when you do not have your Bible in hand. Also it allows me to paste verses to Facebook using the septuagint Old Testament:)

iPad version please. I really hate to give a bad review of the Bible, especially enjoyed for a long time. However, can we please have a version for the iPad? You know it's a problem when I have my iPad in my lap but reach for my printed version because it is easier to use and easier to read.

Overall, Pretty Good. I have both the IPhone app version and the Kindle version. The iPhone app has far superior graphics and style. Finding a particular book, chapter, or verse is much quicker, but it lacks landscape mode that kindle version has, which is a drag. Also, the iPhone app version does not include cross references in the commentary, which the kindle version has. I find this very useful. Finally, the kindle version includes a cross, which, when pressed takes you directly to that verse's commentary. On the iPhone app, you have to scroll until you find the corresponding commentary.

Good value, great convenience. This app is a good value as it is priced below what I paid for the Kindle ebook version of this particular Bible translation. As an app, it is easier to navigate than the ebook versions, as you can go to a particular verse in much fewer steps than can be accomplished through an ebook's Table of Contents. The greatest convenience though is the app's daily reading feature, which presents the multiple readings for today on a single page, so you don't have to jump back and forth between a lectionary with hyperlinks. Thank you for creating this app just in time for Great Lent. Please keep up the good work.

New update of Orthodox Study Buble. Thank you for this Orthodox Study Bible app! It is among the most useful Bible apps available. I have just again been able to open this app after a short time of being unable to. This app is easier for me to see than my hardbound copy. Thanks!

Love this app!!. While there are a number of apps which I have found useful, none have really gotten me excited enough to write a review - until now. I own a hard copy of the Orthodox Study Bible which was purchased shortly after I became Orthodox. While I like it, it isn't exactly portable enough to carry around. I had considered a Kindle version but the app far surpasses what a Kindle edition is capable of. Further, the app has features which I can see even supplanting my hard copy version. A GREAT bargain at this price when you consider the content and capabilities. I'd rate this 10 stars.

App freezes a LOT!!. This app freezes often and I always have to go back to App Store, search for it and download again. THEN I can go back to it and it works. This is getting very tiresome. Never had an app before that has given me so much trouble. I gave this two stars instead of one only because I do like its features.

App appears abandoned. This app hasn’t been updated in ages, and consequently does not support the newer iPhone X, XR, and XS screen sizes properly. This reduces the visible screen space quite a bit. Issue has persisted for nearly two years now.

So thankful!. So thankful this was made into an app! I had been just trying to use the Kindle version. This is nice to have on hand.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this app. I've been wanting to read this Bible from cover-to-cover, and now there is this great app to assist me! I recommend the "Bible in one year mixed reading plan"! I love the notes section that helps interpret the reading. In my humble opinion, I strongly recommend this app. However I have found one bug - the book of Proverbs was blank.

Needs iPhone X Support. The Bible is sensational but the app needs to support the new iPhone screen size, it’s a ton of wasted real-estate.

JV. Excellent resource for all Orthodox or anyone wanting to about a Orthodoxy! The Old Testament is Septuagint version which is excellent! System for daily readings is great! Now we need the Lenten Triodian full version and the Holy Week Book!!

Orthodox study bible. Needs work on the daily readings. It doesn't work on my bible.

Perfect! Everything I was hoping for in a Bible app, and EASY to use!!!. This app is how a Biblical study tool should be. It’s packed with passages for every holy day, lots of useful articles, a daily reading that covers the entire Bible in one or two years, and most importantly this app is very easy to use. You can cut & paste verses, and save highlights to iCloud. And finding any verse in the Old or New Testament only takes a few seconds. This app is indeed the perfect companion to The Orthodox Study Bible (hardcover copy.) I don’t write reviews often, but this OSB app was was well worth the $10 price, and makes the project I’m working on incredibly fast and easy to research.

Well Pleased!. I came across some passages online, talking about how the NKJV New Testament aligns better with the Septuagint. It’s a bit confusing at first, cross referencing. The Septuagint by Brenton is a tad bit easier to use as a cross referencing tool, in my opinion. But once you are able to get through the whole numbering system, this Orthodox study Bible is spot on. For example, cross referencing Hebrews 10:5 with Psalm 40:6. In the Brenton version of the Septuagint, it would be Psalm 39:6. Here in the Orthodox Bible, it’s Psalm 39:7. And I want to say that is because the title of the chapter is being accounted as verse 1? I’m still new and trying to understand that part. I don’t have the Brenton version of the Septuagint, yet.

Five reasons that I love this app.. Great app that allows me to have my Orthodox Study Bible with me wherever I go. It is packed with features but here are my favorites: —Navigating to certain books and passages is quick and easy and I can access all the study notes for that page with a tap. —There is a separate area for daily reading plans that remembers my last stopping place. There are lots of reading plans to choose from. —The Psalm reading in the daily prayers updates automatically to the current days Psalm; no scrolling through the previous 6 days of Psalm readings to get to the Saturday Psalm. —All of the topical articles that are in the printed book are available here, accessed in the text as they appear in the print edition or listed in a drop down menu. —I use this app on an iPad and it has always worked perfectly, and works offline as well. The only thing I miss over my hardcover Bible is the beautiful images of icons on color plates. There are no images in the app.

Great Study Bible to add to your library. This is an electronic version of the Orthodox Study Bible published by Thomas Nelson. The app is less expensive than the various ebooks. It has all the various additional sections plus the OT and NT. There is Morning and Evening prayers for each day of the week that come up tied to the current day. It is a great introduction to the Eastern Orthodox Church with various articles and the study notes have tie-ins back to the writtungs of the Church Fathers. The navigation is straight forward to get to a verse and to then see the notes.

Perfect timing. Here in the beginning of lent.... I'm SO blessed to have stumbled upon this app. Complete with daily reading AND daily prayers, right at my fingertips. Looking forward to this Lent, with this app by my side. I'll be sharing this with friends!

Great! But can I sync?. No major complaints. It's a great, on-the-go Bible. I just wish my bookmarks would automatically sync between my devices.

Review. This has been an extremely educational book/app. I recently converted to the Greek Orthodox Religion. I have always lived in a Christian home, but once I began learning about the Orthodox religion, I felt a calling to convert. This book/app has helped me easily learn the beliefs and ways of the Greek Orthodox Church. It is very educational and has helped me greatly in my new faith. Thank you for writing this book/app. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to learn more about the Greek Orthodox faith.

Topic Articles Alone Make It Worth Buying. If you only buy this app for the purpose of having the topical articles available at your fingertips, you will still be pleased with the price you pay for the purchase. I use the daily readings nearly every Sunday morning before I go to my local Greek Orthodox Church as I like to get a head start on the scripture reading.

Illuminating. Most recommended. The study tabs within and alongside the text deliver wholistic and rich explanation to any one portion of the scripture, drawing closer even the most casual reader to the ‘study’ of the Bible. This cannot be underestimated for the benefits of insight and application it imparts. Overall the experience of the OSB feels like you are in church with Christianity’s most sage and spiritual helping you turn the pages, and your life moving forward... Always some room for improvement... eg took me a while to figure Samuels 1 and 2 in other bibles are actually Kingdoms 1 and 2 in the Orthodox Bible. Also some simple line drawings, even with faceless stick figures will help ‘flesh out’ and ‘lighten’ the volume of text. Thank you for a most amazing reference and gift of the Word delivered and explained.

More Graphics & iphoneX support. I have always been using the OSB, and was thrilled when I saw the app and got it right away. It is considered expensive but I thought I would be getting an equal to the book. But wasn’t very happy with it to be honest. It’s a good step, but needs the same/similar graphics to the OSB. Also needs support for different proportion phones like the iPhone X. Also if the introduction to the book is available upfront like the chapters and not in the info box. Hope to see more and more updates and make it closer and closer to the actual book! Bless your work! Thanks!

A must-have for Orthodox Christians. This is a excellent app, and the content is faithful to the hardcopy original. It’s easy to use, well laid out with a clean interface. I love that all of the topical articles, daily prayers, lectionary and study articles, as well as the textual footnotes are included as well. It even has night mode which is a great feature. You can also bookmark and highlight your favourite verses. All in all, it’s a fantastic app.

Needs version update. I’ve had this OSB app since it came out .. bought it expensive!! Unfortunately the developer stopped coming up with upgrades to properly display on newer iPhones !! Not sure if this app is still supported

What a GIFT to Christianity today!. Thank you so much for releasing the Orthodox Study Bible on iPhone. I am not "orthodox" but have longed for a bible that combines NKJV and LXX. Great work on the parts of both the translators (of the LXX) and the app developers. The best part of this bible is that we finally have an accessible LXX (aka Septuagint, the early Greek translation of the original Hebrew OT) - the same Old Testament manuscripts that Jesus and the Apostles used and quoted from, unlike the Masoretic Hebrew texts that all bibles have been using since Jerome (who gave us the Latin Vulgate) decided to switch to on the persuasion of the Jews at that time. Praise the Lord for this reformation! It's great... Take the time to compare all the NT quotations to your standard bible's OT then compare those scriptures to this OSB OT version of the LXX and you will see there is no more contradictions. Look at Hebrews 10:5-7 and 1 Peter 4:18. Plus we have the return of what is referred to as the dueterocanon or apocrypha - those books that provide much rich study and more insights into history. These books were once a part of ALL bibles, even the KJV, but gradually disappeared for the later (1800s) Protestant communities. But the early Christian writers (90ad-700ad) quoted from these books all the time. The beautiful anabaptists, like Michael Sattler, also extensively quotes from these rich books. Thank God for the return of His Word to His people. What an awesome time we live in. To have the original manuscripts on the powerful devices, to search and study with such ease and power unlike any who have gone before us. But what responsibility we saints have with what God has given, too. To whom much is given, much will be required.

Orthodox study Bible. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!! I DID IT!!! I followed the ONE YEAR PLAN and read the whole BIBLE IN ONE YEAR( started 4/16/17 done 4/13/18) thanks be to our Risen Lord. Christ is Risen!!!!!!!! Indeed He is Risen!!!!! I love every aspect of this app. It's very easy and convenient to use. It helps me to stick to my commitment to read the Bible in one year. I was worried that I wouldn't understand what I was reading, but that's no longer an issue due to the that magic exclamation point that gives me an overview of what I'm reading. I look forward to reading my Bible, because I'm learning something new everyday. I'm recommending this app to everyone I know and everyone who's reluctant to read the Bible for any reason. This app casts out all doubt and fear of reading the Bible. God Bless you☦️

Interesting. I have recently been interested in the Orthodox Church. This translation intrigues me and am glad to have a Bible with theApocryphal works in it. I have also become more repetitive and meditational in my prayer life. The liturgical prayers were a big feature that drew me to this app. As much as I am looking forward to reading this and praying the prayers, I guess I was expecting the prayers to be laid out in a bit more of a notification friendly way. I was hoping for a daily reminder for the different reading plans and prayers (i.e. morning and evening prayers). While my expectations may have been lofty and not exactly realistic based on the product description, I am nonetheless disappointed that my $10.00 did not receive what I thought it would in return. Regardless of my misgivings resulting in this mediocre review, I look forward to incorporating an Orthodox view of my biblical studies.

Going to miss this.... I love this app. It has worked perfectly since I got it years ago. I just switched to an Android phone and am so disappointed that I can’t find the same app on the Google Play store.
