Great preview!. Super cute preview of the full game, it gives you the intro to the story and the first section (in upper and lower case), then it gives you the option to unlock the full game, or you can play the first section over and over :) I just love the animal graphics and the little sticker board, such a fun way to learn phonics and letters!

Interesting app. My little nephew fell in love with this app, it is great for little children when they are bored like the times you are waiting in line at the doctors, or are stuck in traffic. I appreciate the fact that it promotes learning and not violence or other stuff that you wouldn't want your child to know.

Great idea, ok app. This is one entertaining app for small children and maybe even adults. My little sister was entertained and learning at the same time. It lets the child/player get a sticker after doing good on the exercise they give them. The only bad part is, only A,S,T and M are free. You have to pay for the premium app to all the letters.

Unable to play. We purchased the full version for my child to help with sounding out words and now about 90% of the time we can’t actually play any of the games. The intro plays but after it tells you to play the next game it will not allow you to do so. Incredibly frustrating. We loved this app but now am looking for a new one

Amazing Learning Tool. I use this tool with my 3-year-old son and he loves it. He already knows more than most of the children at his day care center. I don't know where I would be without this wonderful app. If you have young children, this is a must have app. There are no problems at all, just download and use. Paying extra for the full version is really worth it. Especially because the developers definitely took a long time to create this wonderful app. Thank you devs!

Convenient and fun!. If you have a kid i think you should download this app now. My kid loves it, he can play it anytime and anywhere. I'm very satisfied about features of it. It can help kids learn letter and know more about animals. My kid now can recognize veriaty of letter sounds, that's great. I definitely recommend it to all parents around the world.

Phonics. This could be an excellent app. Please fix the pronunciation of the letter sounds. The program is incorrect on the sounds of q, y, u, I, o, h, l, and v. They also place the u sound at the end of the p, d, b, and t. This can be a teachers nightmare when they have to reteach the students the correct sound. Because of this I have to sit with my grandson and tell him the correct sounds. I can not let him use this on his own. He thinks they are trying to trick him. Please fix this, he loves it.

Can’t exit. I downloaded this app for my son. I was hoping this would be a good way to keep up his skills during the summer. I clicked around on the app before I gave my phone to him. Much to my aggravation I could not exit out! I tried serval ways to stop the app and return to my home screen. After 5+ mins of working with it I was finally able to close it. I tried again to see if it was a glitch and nope it’s just that hard to exit.

Good but why not update it?. This is a nice app but why not continue to update it? Most good apps have of progress trackers, changing details, and something to make the experience different. This one is pretty cut and dry. Good for ages 2-4.

Great app for learning! Not Cheesy!. This app is very practical for kids learning. It is interactive and teaches my 3 year old how to write letters, words and more. I love how the app caters to many learning styles that include sounds, visual and hands-on lessons. There are lots of lessons to choose from. There is a paid version to try out too. I recommend this app for your kids!

Wonderful alphabet playground. My niece loves to play with this app. The interface is child-friendly and intuitive. The animations are endearing and the graphics are very colorful - excellent alphabet playground for her. Fantastic app for children learning letters and letter sounds.

Really happy I found this app!. This is fantastic- it's really helped my daughter learn phonics. Thanks to this app, she's way ahead of the other kids at preschool now. It lets her practice the sounds that each letter makes, and she loves playing the games.

Hard to understand. So this app is so convenient for tutoring but there is a glitch that when every time I go on the app it sounds very glitchy I almost can’t understand at all but other than that my kids love it they now love tutoring because of this amazing app so fun and interesting but it also just has the same games over and over with other letters

Great app. Colorful world for children to learn. The extremely diverse animals. Immersed in nature to learn letters and explore the lovely animals. The app is easy to use, intuitive interface designed for children. The sound quality immensely. An app for children learning well.

Method for tracing letters needs to be changed. I went through intro and was initially excited as it seemed awesome. Then, the app had me trace an uppercase /M/ in the wrong sequence. Sorry, but don't want my 4 year old learning the incorrect method to trace/write letters. As an OTR/L, I know very well these are hard habits to break. Children need to learn correct methods from day one so they aren't going through years of corrections to no avail and have decreased speed and legibility of handwriting.

BEST APP. My two year old has been playing this creators games and is advanced insanely. He knows all his sight words, numbers, alphabet, everything to first grade knowledge. Awesome app!

Keeps getting better!. First Phonics and Letter Sounds School is a fantastic app for parents of children who are just learning to sound out their first words. I absolutely fell in love with the graphics and how easy First Phonics is to navigate. The narration is cute, too, and very easy to understand and follow along with. I'm sure kids will love the variety of colorful and adorable charaters included in First Phonics. This is definitely an app worth investing in for a young child!

Great app for beginning readers. Great, well-thought out app to prepare children for reading. I have a full version of the app. I love that this app is frequently updated and right now there there is a new update for the tracing letters and popping balloons game. One of our favorite apps in the home. It helps lay the foundations by making children understand the relationship between letters and their sounds and how the sounds compose words. My son has a lot of fun playing it and earns a ton at the same time... Highly recommended!

Learning tool. This is a really educational yet fun learning tool for kids. It's perfect for those just learning to read and write. I love the introduction. It's very interesting and attracts kids in that age category. I would recommend downloading this on an iPad for a bigger interface to work with. It would be much more helpful when the kids trace letters. It can definitely benefit your children and increase their learning level.

Has potential. This app has great potential. With the free version, there is access to 4 sounds. The "t", "a", and "s" sounds are said correctly. The "m" is said with a "u" sound after it. It should just be "mmmm". As it is, I probably wouldn't buy the full version because of other possible errors like this. I also do not like all of the ads in the beginning of the app. Students will press these and then we end up in the app store. I really liked the app (if errors are fixed) though. The different animals incorporated into the app is great for increasing vocabulary skills as well. The sticker wall is a nice way to motivate kids as well.

Great learning and great fun.. This is a great app for teaching children phonetics by primarily associating the starting letters of animals to the sound they represent. The app is highly polished and functions well. It has a nice story to carry your child around an island. It was nice to be able to have a variety of puzzles or tasks along the way. It incorporates so many good elements that keep kids attention — bright graphics, clear and fun sounds, trains and stickers! It does this all while actually teaching the child the build blocks of reading. There are more areas on the island to unlock or you can continue to play this area until your child masters it. Settings options are great, functional without being too complex. I also thought it was cleaver to have a speaker icon on each screen to repeat the task at hand. I must admit, I needed to hear what sounds I was supposed to be finding once. Well done.

Favorite app at our home!. After our great experience with another app by this developer that teaches sight words, I decided to try this app as well based on my children’s kindergarten teacher’s recommendation. The app is a great introduction to letter sounds. My kids were thrilled with the app, so I upgraded to the full version, so they could finish it and discover the secret of the island. It is great that the app teaches children letter sounds rather than just names as most apps do. The train and magic island theme full of animals is very well chosen for kids. There is also an endearing Abby monkey character. I also appreciate that the app teaches letter writing of both uppercase and lowercase letters. For my youngest child, tracing was initially a bit of a challenge but he quickly improved and now loves this activity even more than popping balloons. I would warmly recommend this app to everyone who wants to bring up a good reader in their child.

AMAZING app for kids!. My daughter is hard of hearing and my wife's and my biggest concern is her learning how to speak normally she's had her hearing aids since she was 3 months old and we believe that she will speak just like a normal hearing child. This app is not only great for normal hearing children but also hard of hearing because it not only speaks the letters sound but reinforces it by showing the letter and associating it with a word usually an animal which helps our daughter learn her animals as well. We as parents then reinforce the animal and letter with the sign for them so she can better understand. I truly recommend this app for all children but parent a of hard of hearing children needs this on every device they have!

This is such a great app for my children to learn from!. My children have a great love for animals, so as soon as they started playing this learning game, they were instantly locked in for hours of gameplay while learning at the same time. I found this app to be very useful in helping my young ones learn letter sounds through many games that offer beautiful scenery for the kids to enjoy. The audio within the app is very clear and understandable and the overall interface is so easy to use, any child can learn quickly. Overall this is a great app and I would highly recommend this to family and friends that have young children. While my kids are playing games, the best part is that their learning so much from it at the same time!

Cute but incorrect sounds. The games and activities in this app are great! My 2 year old is tracing the letters and identifying letter sounds. However, sometimes the letter sounds add the extra sound of “uh” after the letter. For example saying that B says “buh” is incorrect as the B sound should be said as /b/. Adding the extra “uh” will make it harder for children to sound out words. If they sound out the word bat using this it would be “buh” “a” “tuh” and will make it harder to get to the actual word bat. Maybe the developer can make an update with the correct letter sounds without the extra “uh”.

My nephew loved it!. Great app! Well put together, fun for kids, and very educational. My nephew played it and he loved it, he was pleading for me to get the full version. It's hard to find great educational games for kids, and that makes this a must buy!

The Best Childrens App I've Seen Yet.. I have to say, I was really amazed after getting my daughter to use this app, the app itself is an amazing learning tool for my child let alone any child! I would highly recommend this app to parents or even kindergarten teachers, I will definitely be sure to put a word in for my daughter’s teacher at kindergarten to have these put on the iPads at her kindergarten because this is something that I know my kid really enjoys and something I know all kids would! One of the things that really helps learning in any app is a good reward system, my daughter absolutely loves stickers, and every time your kid gets rewarded in Phonics they get to add a new sticker to the page, also the way all they characters have been done was really well thought out, it’s easy for children to really progress with this app, I know mine has and I can see Phonics going really far. So with that said in my honest opinion it’s more than worth it buying the full version to this game because not only was it $1.99, now she has access to all the islands and playing it every single day, I am more than impressed with the app and the learning curvature within it and I would definitely recommend this to any parent with a young child because this is truly one of the best learning apps for children that are out in the app store. Pretty good. This is a good app for kids to learn their letters. The full version is on sale for $2 right now. I wouldn't pay more then that for the app. This is the lite version.

Too difficult. My two year old had a lot of trouble with the tracing. He became really frustrated. It seemed pretty unforgiving to me.

So colorful. The first thing you (and your child) will notice is how colorful is that application is; then you'll find many fun characters. Kids love it ! They learn by having fun, how cool is that !

App innocent. If you are a beginner and need to use these things, you will find that it is not very responsive. I deleted it after a few minutes on it

Disappointing.... Nice app, but the free version only allows you to do 4 consonant sounds. Took maybe 10 minutes to do the entire thing. Awfully short, even for a free version.
