Waste of money. This app is so tacky. Hmm... Tachyon, tacky.... Seems fitting. All the instruments sound the same: cheesy electronic noise. I was hoping for a nice violin to accompany my real piano, but I got an electric accordion accompanying a child's toy keyboard. Very upsetting.

makes iPhone worth keeping. i keep my iPhone around for apps like this. this is first one I decided to rate, fwiw. - recording capability would be cool - some automation ability (or an arp) would be cool - configurable scales would be cool

Another excellent app from Wizdom.. I've had this for a few days and it's a killer app. Being able to morph between sounds is very cool, and the other options (key, scale, range, etc) make it even cooler. Not to mention the great price! Get it and have fun!

Awesome App once again. Jordan and the team from Wizdom music have done it again. This is a very cool app. Morph from one instrument to another just by sliding around the screen. The visuals are just as cool as the sounds. Love the built in effects too! I'll be jamming the night away!

Additional features. Please continue to make new sounds, and make the ability to import our own sounds from Samplewiz. Also make a button to lock the menu buttons so u don't accidentally hit them while playing. Importing sounds from Samplewiz would be great, great app.

Rudess does it again. Very cool app, useable sounds, but I wish it could load sounds from Sample Wiz like you can with Geo, I'm already hearing great musical ideas with it.

Average. I love SampleWiz and GeoSynth, and I do like the polyphonic morphing abilities, but in a lot of ways the sounds remind me of MorphWiz in that they are decidedly unremarkable. New musicians may find the simplicity endearing, and it's priced reasonably. But my guess is that more experienced musicians looking to record or perform won't be reaching for this one after the newness wears off.

A good follow-up to MorphWiz. This is more responsive than MorphWiz, and easier to tweak the sounds with. The internal audio engine is very nice. With only 10 instruments to choose from for the upper and lower instrument, it's kinda limited, but sometimes fewer options help get you past endless tweaking and on to playing. I like it, it's fun, I won't kick it off my iPad.

I love it -- buy it. I've had a great time playing around with this app. It's worth the money and the music is a lot of fun to play around with. This is the future of musical instruments.

Broken!. On Ipad 2 - IOS 7, completely broken. It is not using the complete screen of the Ipad, only a portion of it, so it's impossible to play. Jordan, please tell your guys to fix this...

Cool. Very cool interface and an inspiring mix of instruments, I would say it's a very fun app that can be useful for musical inspiration.

Odd choices. I am confused by this app, it changes the metaphor established in Morphwiz (and Bebot before that). Why have some apps where you play on the lines and some where you play between? I like the look of the interface much better than other Wisdom Music apps but I would like the ability to alter the transparency of the star field. It can get a little distracting at times. I love the way you play it, morphing between two sounds. But those sounds unfortunately are pretty lack luster and way to few to appeal to someone trying to make something unique and vivid. I hope the app grows.

Good for what it advertises.. Not the best considering what it could be. Before my review sullies your opinion, let me say this: for 2 bucks, buy it. Pretty great sounds, blending sounds cool, ETC. Now, for what it could be: You guys are wizdom music! Morphwiz, Samplewiz, Geosynth! It seems... Below you, to put out such a simple app. Don't get me wrong, I love it, but it seems like there's so much more you could do. Many of the sounds are similar, not much tweakability. The ideal thing would be to base it on an internal synth, and allow tweakage of that. You could create much more interesting blends that way! At the very least, please add different-er voices. ~Evan

Fun but Forgettable. For 1.99 I have no complaints, but not up to par to other apps by Rudess and developers. The animations are cool, the sounds decent, and the idea is a solid one. You have some control over sounds and effects, and interface is friendly, but with other things and apps competing with my time I doubt I will use this much. I will change my review if I am wrong.

Its not samplewiz. What i mean by that is its nowhere in the same league imho. Its got a very linited sound pallette...but its 2 bucks! The animations are more trippy on samplewiz and morphwiz...lol The sounds are okay...nothing to write home about Hopefully more patches will come or this thing will fizzle quickly like morphwiz did. I read there was a utility coming for samplewiz...i thought this was it...it is not. Cant wait until samplewiz is updated, now thats an app!

Amazing app. One of my all time favorite music apps. The developers should update it annually at a minimum so it continues to work.

Interesting concept. But at the end of the day, I don't find the patches in and of themselves very interesting. A Far more intriguing feature would be loading in our own samples.

Seriously...Just Buy It. This is another fantastic app made the amazing Jordan Rudess who just keeps on giving. I am having a lot of fun with Tachyon. I'm not much of a pianist, but that does not mean I can't play this and that's whats so cool about all of Wizdom Music's apps - they are for everyone! The idea of being able to morph between sounds was a good one! Just buy this and every other app put out by this company and you will certainly be glad you did.

Good app but needs MPE.. Good app but needs MPE. I would explain more in depth but other reviews can already explain it exhaustively. Otherwise, MPE Midi seems sensible for more expression while playing on an device with force touch or an external device with such a capability. Especially when other apps made under the developer has MPE capability also. 4 stars - because while it still is a cool app released many moons ago, the app has had multiple updates and to survived the crossover to 64-bit - an omission like MPE seems odd.

Fun to play, simple to learn. This is a totally cool concept for a touch instrument. I love the fresh take on nested menu options. Nice work guys!

Excellent Instrument!. Mr. Rudess is the wizard of music! While its not as customizable as the other amazing apps you offer, it gives control over notes in yet another intuitive and expressive way. The best commonality between all these apps are the ability to isolate keys and scales. Beautiful work gentlemen. I'll try to upload stuff at some point :D -B. Hasson

Amazing. Awesome app put out by an amazing company. Tachyon allows for very expressive playing and morphing between sounds. Very easy to play. This was only two dollars but i wouldn't hesitate to pay more. Just buy it!!

JR does it again. I just purchased this, and I can't put it down at the moment! I think visually this is an upgrade from Morphiz, and anyone who has wondered what Jordan's apps are like, should definitely give this a look! $2 is well with the price.

Awesome and very easy to use!. I love the way this app works and the visual presentation is truly well done. I will definitely be spending a great deal of time using Tachyon.

Just,, wow.. This is one of my favorite music apps.. the only thing that could possibly make it better, would be midi.. I have 1 iPad dedicated to tachyon on my synthesizer stack.. incredible

Good app but there’s a major bug. I love this app and it’s a fantastic unique instrument? There’s a problem with this app however, whenever I try to launch it with Audiobus 2, it doesn’t want to open

It was not what I expected. it does not cost much but there are better apps at the same price and it no longer works in IOs 11

Deluxe app. As with all J. R's apps the sounds and gui are deluxe,very useful and fun to use. Played with this for hours last night and plugged into my machine mikro and ableton with outstanding results.i have all past apps from JR and they just get better. Thanks Wiz Kids.

Awesome app!. That's how a musical app should be - easy to use, very responsive (I don't feel any latency on my iPhone 4s), and expressive as hell (you can articulate every voice individually, which is a very unique feature even for a pro synth). Also, it's so cheap, so why not try it for yourself?

Good idea on paper, ultimately disappointing. I bought this up because of the phenomenal morphwiz app that Jordan ruess(spelling?) endorsed, I assumed this one would be as musical and useful as that one. Wrong! One of the most crucial elements of music is controlling dynamics, which apps like kaossilator, morphwiz and bebot do brilliantly, but this one offers no such control. Just flat, robotic stale sounding tones which I could look past if they sounded good but the are downright cheese-tacular. Controlling dynamics, especially on a platform like the ipad, is the only way to make the sounds come to life in a musical way and they seriously missed the boat on that part, instead opting for some pretty star animations the for e shape of the instrument your playing. I mean they couldn't even row a digital mod wheel, or xy pad or something to control volume swells, nope it's all got to be "starry"... The sounds are cheesy and nothing beyond mere novelty status as an ipad toy. Moreover, as a gigging keyboardist looking to incorporate the ipad into my rig, I laughed when I saw the scale options, bebot and kaossilator and most other apps offer an assortment of chromatics, major scales, minors, modes, and often exotic scales that are usually completely customizable as arpeggios and so on. Five. Five scales offered. And what's more, they insult anyone who knows even a little about music theory by including the "major pentatonic" and "minor pentatonic" as two separate scales. Play the major pentatonic in the key of C, then play the minor in the key of A, only start on the note "C". You'll "see" what I mean(oooh a pun)... Jordan, I really expected more from a dude with your prestige on the keys, but its clear your cashing in on the oppurtunity, heck I'd probably do the same thing in your shoes....wait....no way!!! For shame....oh for shame... Two star because it looks nice and its functional as a toy...any serious musicians, save your hard earned money...or buy morphwiz ;)

Neat!. I have a lot of fun with this app. Very easy to use, with really good depth and customization. Basically, Morphwiz for people who just want to play with an easy synth app. It also works well on the iPhone, which Morphwiz doesn't. The controls work well on the smaller screen. The interface is completely amazing, too! Totally cool! Another great one, Mr Rudess!

No noise.. I can't get any sound on this app...and the app support page is badly designed. Not very happy with my purchase...

Superb value.. The simplicity is quite endearing, if somewhat limiting to more experienced programmers of synths. However when one just wants to start jamming with an expressive instrument, Tachyon should not be overlooked. What it may lack in visual color and deep programming, it more than makes up in fast, responsive playing and quick access to the most important of parameters. A fine balance is achieved for keeping the screen area fairly uncluttered to allow manipulations of said parameters while playing a passage pad or shredding a wicked solo. The sound qualities are fairly good if ever so slightly on the cheesy side; however the excellent delay and decent chorus help improve some of the lackluster. The morphing between two sounds keeps things interesting and being able to adjust the octave settings independently can provide wonderful feedback-like expression to one's playing. I also love the ability to switch between glide and hard notes in the midst of a solo run. Glide mode allows finger-wobble-vibrato...something I've dreamed of since my early days with synths. Real happy it is included here. A lot more could be commented on here, but I can't wait to get back to playing some more Tachyon. Huge bang for the buck.

Audiobus support THANK U!. I love this app but was frustrated without audiobus support and was afraid this app was being orphaned. I am so glad for the update. This is a wonderful sounding instrument with a really nice and intuitive interface. It's not as deep as other synths - but it's really easy to make great sounding synth leads with as well as cool sounding chords. Explore the half circles to customize. Pick a scale root and scale type- then have at it. Thanks Wizdom!

Great sounds & fun to play. Very, very easy to get great sounds out of this. Would like to see updates. Maybe to help support development offer in app purchases for the following : - Additional Instrument Packs - Ability to import SampleWiz sounds - Audiobus support Great product, please don't let it fade away.

IAA doesn’t work.. I enjoyed this app when it originally came out, but now it’s almost useless because the IAA and Audiobus compatibility doesn't work. Please fix!

Could use some more features, but an excellent instrument. A simple but amazing instrument. I would suggest giving it a few more features, such as: 1. Reverb settings 2. Keyboard view 3. More sounds

Simple, musical, expressive, inexpensive.. For $1.99, this is a great deal! Anyone can enjoy Tachyon, and it's a great introduction to Jordan's other apps. Very simple design, with just enough control to keep it fun, but not super-deep. For what it is, it's excellent. If it could one day control his incredible SampleWiz, this thing would get a fifth star from me. Recommended for anyone who enjoys well-made musical applications here.

Hoping that my favourite app will be repaired. Please restore the inter-app audio and audiobus connectivity for Tachyon especially (and Morphwiz if possible), which went missing after the ios 11 upgrade. I doubt is was intentional. The transition when sliding between notes is unparalled by other imitation apps. Wizdom music apps are among the most expressive apps available.

Awesome. Mr. Rudess does it again! Excellent job, simple interface, cool visuals and cool sounds. It would be great if you could record your own samples like you can in sample wiz.

Used to be great (Tachyon and Morphwiz. They still play great, but you can no longer record what you’re playing and that’s a pity, because in Audiobus (and even GarageBand), you could make some wicked stuff. Very sad.

Fantastic app!. It is so easy to create dreamlike sounds by simply sliding your fingers around the screen. Constantly recreates itself as there is limitless ways to make new sounds and arrangements.

Very well thought out and executed!. I'm addicted to this thing! Sounds and effects are high quality. How an app should be as it enhances the touchscreen and finger gestures. Don't have to be a musician to appreciate it either!
