Great. I haven't used this app yet but have learned so much from Justin already and am confident that anything he puts out will be a high quality product.

My favorite metronome app. Easy to setup and use. Easy to read interface. Love the sound options for primary and secondary beats.

Training mode broken. Training mode doesn't work, the instructions say to hold down the button, but that doesn't turn it on. A user posted to the forum last year with the same issue with no reply.

I liked the old skin bettter. The old one was so simple I loved the classic look. And the click. Now it is digital yuck.

Solid. Great app for anyone looking to gain a better sense of time, it totally beats just playing to a straight click(which you can still do with this). I've only used it for about a week and have seen a huge improvement in my steadiness and overall accuracy. Great features and the update couldn't be better. Glad I came across this app, there's not a better practice tool out there.

Great App. This is a fantastic app. I'm a 51 year old pianist and I've worked with metronomes all my life, and this is the first that gradually increases tempo over a period of time. It's really revolutionized my practicing, and has really helped me improve difficult passages.

The only one you'll ever need. Great tool! Does everything my Korg does plus lots of other tools and options. Easy to use and a fraction of the cost of a stand alone metronome.

Best app ever. This is probably the best app I've ever purchased. As a drummer, there are SO many uses for this app. I use it everyday and it has transformed my practice time. It has developed my internal metronome and helped me with my heavy reliance on the click to have good timing. I highly recommend this if you are looking for ways to push yourself musically!

Love the idea. Long time user.. I’ve been using this app for a LONG time. Like, long enough that I have lost track. And I love the idea. But man, this design refurb is really annoying... Still, get the app. But be prepared for a super clumsy and unattractive interface. I really wish I could have the old version back.

Great app!. Working with a gnome is not fun. There I said it. It can be tedious and frustrating and make you want to throw it against the wall. This app makes me enjoy working with a gnome, something I did not think possible. Easy to use, great to look at, and the tools like the bar breaks and speed upper and beat drops add the fun. Definitely worth 2 bucks.

Great little app.. Metronome on steroids! I use the speed up feature all the time. Set it for a slow speed to start and an faster speed to end and it will SLOWLY quicken the tempo to your target speed. Worth the $ for that alone!

Easy to use, great features, bulletproof. This app was clearly designed by someone who understands and uses metronomes for actual music training/instruction. Pop it open and it’s easy to use the metronome right away. Even the advanced features were a snap to figure out. Plus it’s rock solid and “just works” they way you’d like every app to be. I can’t remember the last time I’ve been this pleased with the value I got for a paid app.

Great app!. I've been a huge fan of Justin guitar for a long time now, I bought this app to help support him but also it's genuinely a good app I used to have to have a metronome and a timer separately for my practice sessions but with the built in timer it's all there, really nice stuff!

Untitled. Helped me to realize how horribly bad my sense of time is. Makes it easy to work on improving it though! Bar breaks mode is especially useful. There are some bugs when switching speed or accent during playback so it's better to stop it if you want to adjust things.

Justin is great!. From the beginner to advanced, Justin is a great instructor. This is one more wonderful tool he has provided. Get it!

Good metronome. Pretty good app. I especially like the "speed upper" for working on licks, increasing the tempo s you go. Only drawback in my opinion is the sounds could be better, as in Guitar Toolkit's metronome function. Maybe some drum sounds or even drum loops. Now that would be awesome. Love your website Justin.

Great app.. Love that it throws some variables in the timing.A tuner would be great for all the types talked about on the website as an update or another app. I have several music apps all able to do something slightly different than the others. It would be nice to consolidate all of them instead of jumping around for one particular thing.

Metronome. This metronome is so practical. You can change the number of measures with it silent so you get immediate feedback at various levels of keeping spot on time.

Best App for Guitar Enthusiasts. Works perfectly. Just as described. Unbelievably great customer support! I had a problem getting the app to work (turned out to be because I had my device on mute without realizing it). Received prompt, friendly, and helpful advice to help me figure out my problem.

Great app. My favorite app. Wonderful for its feature of dropping out one or more measures. Really tests and develops your sense of time. I'm a drummer, so that's all important. I love the new interface, so easy. Just wish the start/stop button was Much larger. Otherwise it's great.

Train modes are fixed, brilliant.. Everyone who is playing an instrument and wants better timing should buy this app immediately. It is not only a conventional metronome that simple. It includes several very helpful training modes. Those training modes could definitely improve your timing. No other metronome has those features. Thanks the dev to developing this brilliant app.

I love this! Only one complaint.. The main reason I purchased it was for speed up function. Brilliant idea! I only wish there was a way to set the step by measures instead of amount of time. Once you get locked into a phrase even one bpm raised mid phrase throws you off and doesn't do much for keeping time. Just a thought. Otherwise it's a great very intuitive app!

Very nice Metronome. This is a terrific metronome app. I have several others, including a paid app. This one is much better for learning. I love the ability to set the app up to stop the metronome after XX minutes. This lets me focus on what I'm doing, and not worry about setting a separate timer. The ability to drop beats to see if you are staying on rhythm is nice too. Some things I'd like to see added: The app needs to rotate with the IPhone. I can't read the screen when I have the phone plugged in to power or an amp. It would also be nice to be able to set the coundown timer from the main metronome screen. I do that quite a bit, and it takes 3 screens to do it.

Perfect for guitar rhythm timing. Great app with all the functionality I am looking for when practicing my guitar with a metronome. I especially like the training options and that the app comes complete without having to pay for in-app purchases.

Great App. Love the app but you can't program it after updating to ios 8. :( Hoping for a fix soon.

Multi-Useful. With the integrated timer this utility is really multi-useful! I like using it to time by bpm chord changes. I use Justin’s chord change app too, but this is great for on the fly and allows me to control the parameters: BPM and time. Also am planning on using the trainer for scales.

Longer time breaks please. Love it. Just what I needed. Learned about it from Modern Drummer Podcast. Can we please have longer bar breaks? Up to 128, why not? 7 off is too little

The best metronome app out there. I love this metronome. I've tried several different ones now and this is the best. Very intuative and the fact that it's not just a metronome but also an incredibly useful training tool makes it much better than any other. Great interface as well.

Great metronome. I think this is my favorite metronome app. The coolest thing is that not only is is accurate when you tap but it also allows you to put an emphasis on a particular beat when you tap. The big light is good too.

Great App. I got this app for the bar drop feature. You start off easy with three bars of metronome clicks followed by a bar of silence. Gradually I worked up to one bar of clicks and three bars of silence. My internal clock has improved greatly. And it's an easy way to support Justin and all his free content!

Junk. Constant bugs, shutting down constantly on iPhone 7. Speed trainer can’t be paused.

Nice metronome, timer doesn’t pause correctly. Hi, I can’t seem to figure out how to cause the timer to pause and resume without resetting the timer to the original time. I often will pause temporarily during an exercise and want to start where I left off. It would be nice if countdown timer were larger in size, to make it easier to see. I also agree with request to allow the app to go into landscape on an iPhone.

Very useful. It's a lot better than the other metronomes in the store. It actually helps you with timing using muted bars and much more, the layout is sleek and fast. I would definitely recommend for a musician that is trying to get their timing chops up!

Great App. Great App! Really clever idea. I haven't seen this "random missing tone" feature on any other metronome app, and it is turning out to be very useful in my own beginner guitar playing (I imagine it would help more advanced guitarists as well). Easy to use, nice layout, and the light flashes with the beat. The gradual speed increase feature is also really excellent. Only critisizm: I can't for the life of me figure out what the "TAP" button does. I couldn't find mention of it in any of the documentation. Idea for improvement: How bout a simple ledger or calendar so we can keep track of our abilities over time. Justin often reccommends using a metronome to help speed your playing so it would be a logical extension to put the a device to this end directly in the app.

Just what I needed. I had been running a metronome and a timer separately for doing exercises - very cumbersome. This puts the two into one, huge help. The gradual tempo increase feature is also very cool.

I like the old one better.... :(. I’m very disappointed in the new version of this app. This new version is not able to appear in landscape form on my IPad...that is the way I use it on the piano.... But I was willing to live with that slight inconvenience.... The deal breaker for me is the loss of the “tap” feature in the old version: I used that feature all the time with my students to check their tempos while they play..... I hope you add this back into this app soon... in the meantime I’ll be looking for an app that does this... :(

Update is horrible. Before the update that changed everything this was the most useful app EVER ad I would rate it 10 stars if I could This new overhaul however has completely ruined it. Everything is now in different places, meaning we all have to relearn to use the app. Not only that but the ‘tap tempo’ feature is suddenly gone. Seriously!? More so, the new look is ugly as hell. The old version was the best looking app I’d ever seen and now it’s just an eye sore. Not to mention the new sounds are horrible. Please put this back how it was before we all jump ship.

Fantastic care and attention and great value. The features on this put it above many other metronomes for the same or more money. How cool to have a metronome that automatically speeds up for you! Great help text to really get the best out of this tool as well. Buy it!!

Time Trainer. This is a great app for helping develop a better sense of timing. It can be used as a regular metronome but has additional features that allows you to add in beat subdivisions and to drop beats and bars to see how you manage to keep tempo consistent.

Great App!. Great App. Thanks Justin. Two suggestions: 1. Please make it sound even when the iPhone is muted. That seems to be way other apps work? 2. Swipe left and right to set the tempo in addition to the +- buttons.

Pointless. Cannot be used with ultimate guitar

Not happy with update. Use to love this app before the recent update. why change something that's perfect? Why would you remove the TAP function? Use to be able to change both accented and unaccented sounds but now can only change general sound. If you're gonna update, please make the app BETTER and stop removing functions that were vital to the app. Here are some suggestions: 1. Bring back TAP function 2. More flexibility on sounds (like it use to be) 3. If possible please add multi time signature mode for songs that change time signatures every so often (one of the songs I'm playing has 3 bars of 4/4 followed by a bar of 5/4, then bar of 2/4 follows 2 bars of 4/4. And the chorus is in 3/4) 4. More subdivisions and more time signature options (where is 7/8? And is 15/8 to much for the app to handle?) 5. More flexible options for trainer mode (can we have more control on beats/bar drops rutter than just random mutes?) I have introduced many people to this app, and would like to continue to do so, but at its current stage, the app is not worth the money as there are other apps like "rhythm guru" that do it better for the same money.

Great app. I love the JustinGuitar website, now a great app too. The training tools are unique and very useful, the flashing light stands out well and the accent feature is great. One thing I would like is some default time signatures, particularly the more obscure ones, as this is an area I would like to practice.

Does the job.. The older reviews talk about prior versions, I can only comment on the current version as of July 2020. I’m guessing it’s been updated as some of the features apparently removed are back such as the TAP function. It appears to be a solid app that does what it’s meant to. I’ll be using it more in future for sure.

Excellent for Practice and Teaching. Great app for developing exercises. I use it for my personal practice and in my teaching studio. Only thing missing is subdivisions, otherwise a 5 star app. Definitely highly recommended!

Great App. Justin is a great guitar teacher, online, and in person. So it makes sense that he would design such an excellent app. I highly recommend this tool. Better, and cheaper, than anything you could buy off of a shelf.

I adore the Speed Upper trainer. Thank you!!!. Been using the Speed Upper almost exclusively for as long as I've been using this handy app. Very, very helpful for learning to speed up passages gradually. Thank you so much for designing such a useful practice tool!!! One suggestion for future versions: When picking BPMs for the Speed Upper, I have to scroll through a list of numbers and this is a bit of a hassle as I change these often in my practice (eg. 90-120 for a minute, then 110-150 for 3 minutes, then 130-180 etc to move my speed up). Is it possible to make a keypad so I can directly type in my desired BPMs instead of seeking it through a long scroll? Also would be a lovely bonus (but not super important) if I can stay in the Speed Upper function full time: Right now the app main page is the metronome. From the main page there is an option for Trainers, from there I have to select the Speed Upper and pick my BPMs, then exit into the Trainers list, and then exit out to the metronome main page in order to use the BPM training. Since I use the Speed Upper exclusively, including as a generic metronome (eg. 270-271 over 5min because the metronome only goes up to 260 BPM), I would prefer if I can just use an interface where I pick my start and end BPMs and time and just hit Go, without having to go back to the metronome main page. I hope this makes sense. But not super important. I love this app anyway. Thank you!!

Time trainer metronome. I've tried 5 different metronomes on my iPad. All were decent, but had some little glitch or annoyance. It might sound weird, but when you're hammering arpeggios and scales those little things make you nuts. This metronome is leagues better. Absolutely head and shoulders above. Especially love the speeder upper. Nice work M

Does Not Work with iOS 7. They say an updated version is being developed, but it's weeks away, then there is the approval process. Too bad, it looks like a useful tool, if only it worked. I applied for a refund.

Last update destroyed the APP. After the last update I no long have the pendulum style clock and have lost the horizontal view. Deleted the APP.

Exactly what I was looking for!. Speed upper option is a must. I like it! It could be improved with additional setting. Constant bars duration and tempo increase bpm controls would help practice specific phrase and speed-up at end of phrase. Thanks Justin!

So close to perfection.... I mean...yeah. It's a good app. But I bought it thinking it had a feature that I desperately want, for which I coughed up the money to buy this app. The perfect metronome for me would be one with a feature where I could program a starting and finished beat, and then program it to increase after, say, two measure. And the increase would also be programmed. That would save a butt load of time on violin vibrato practice if I didn't have to stop playing to increase the tempo two beats every time I finished the one or two measure long exercise. This app has a feature like it, but it's not quite the same. I use it the randomly increasing tempo feature. But man was it a disappointment.

Fixed! thanks, Justin!. This was my goto app for guitar practice, but parts of 'training mode' we're broken in iOS7. Although I haven't tested the entire feature set, looks like it's been fixed.

cool graphics but there are better. Time Guru metronome does the same muting and time development, but is more flexible, easier to set up, has presets, human voice count, subdivisions and different time signatures and more.

Love it. Great app, most accurate I've found. Lots of features for practicing.

Update Please. This is the BEST metronome app available...except when Apple comes out with a new iOS and then it takes forever to be updated. The best features don't currently work with iOS 8. Had the same problem with iOS 7 until they eventually updated their app. Please update now!
