Great resource for learning to speak German!. I think this app is best used in conjunction with an app like Duolingo, as well as a grammar book. That is if your goal is working towards fluency. It’s especially helpful that you can be listening as you drive or walk. As a stand alone, this app could definitely help you navigate through basic conversations if you choose to visit a German speaking country. Also, the premium version is work it for sure in my opinion.

Awesome. I studied German for a short while in high school. I have been wanting to learn more. This app has helped me re-learn words I had forgotten and learn a lot more. The repetition and slow progression of adding new words helps stick it in the mind. I love this app and would recommend it to anyone wanting to learn a new language or even brush up in one you learned before.

Read This.... This is an AMAZING app and it's perfect for people just starting to learn German. I would have rated 5 ☆s but I didn't because it sort of lacks like, spunk, if you know what I mean. So basically, you should,idk, make it more hands on fun so like giving us a sentence in either German or English and we should like type the sentence back in the sentences' translation.

Good learning app. No app is perfect but this one offers good value and I find it enjoyable. I would prefer more full sentences as opposed to simply listing words but still find it useful. I would like to see an intermediate and advanced app as well.

It's OK. It would be nice if it had the option of phrases instead of single words. There are a few phrases, but mostly just individual words. Also, if you use a wireless Bluetooth device, it will cut off the first part of the word in practice mode. It would be nice if it analyzed your speech and would let you know where you are messing up. I've seen other programs that will use a graph to let you know where you are messing up.

German Language. Good app. Works as indicated. Would benefit from more sentence structure of words in conversation use. Has "favorite" but does not explain how to use it. Has color letter keys by words but no explanation of them. Would be nice is user could type in a sentence and have the app translate it for study purposes and add the translation to favorite list.

The best!. This is the best German learning program I've ever seen! Helps so much and I really like the stats and how easy it is to see how well your doing and all the personalizations and options in the app! I'm getting better and better at speaking german each day!

Learning quick. I've been using this for just a couple of days and I already know a little over 50 words and phrases. Of course it takes time, but the app makes it so easy and fun it's hard for me to put down the phone. Planning on moving to Germany soon so I'm glad I could find something so great to help me out.

Really great --. Excellent tool. I practice vocabulary while I'm driving and cleaning. I find if complements what I'm learning in duolingo. I like the ability to select which words to add to my collection. Only complaint is while it does have a lot of words, I wish I could add more. For instance, I'm trying to practice foods and it has potato, but not tomato.

Why doesn't this have more buzz?. Fantastic app. I love that I can control how quickly words are spoken and/or introduced. I love that you can pick subject matter to practice, or just work your way through the whole library with a little from here. A little from there. I love that I can practice hands/eyes free while I'm driving, working out, cleaning the house, etc... Excellent variety of actual useful words & phrases. At $10 for an enormous library - super adorable. Way better for actually learning to speak & comprehend while traveling in a foreign country than Duolingo, imo

Good App. I'm not in Germany yet so that is why I couldn't give this app 5 stars. I feel that it has been helping me to learn helpful words and phrases that I would use while I'm over there. This is going to be my 6th trip over there and I have already learned more German from this app than in all of my previous visits. I'll update my review when I return and see how much I actually retain and can use conversationally.

Pretty good. Probably the best feature is the app automatically keeping track of how well you know a word while at the same time giving you the option to manually overwrite this. This is extremely useful for those words you already know because you can immediately exclude them, and for words you are having difficulty with, you can manually adjust the “temperature” of the word so that you can still practice it often. My biggest complaint is that the gender of a noun is not SAID, only SHOWN. This is somewhat annoying if you want to know the gender of a noun while practicing just with headphones while you’re not physically looking at the app. It would also be nice to say the plural of the noun which the app does not do. Another minor complaint is that the app forces you to set a goal of learning at least 3 words a day. Normally this is good except in cases where maybe you are busy all day and can’t use the app. Then the next day the app forces you to quickly learn new words because it thinks you are behind. It would be useful if this “goal” feature could be removed because forcing you to learn many new words very quickly doesn’t work well Overall however it’s a great app

Danke. For this wonderful app. I just got it and it's already been 40 minutes and I've learned 16 words already! This app is great and easy to learn, it's much better than most apps. Also it will notify you to learn new things! I have to say this app is perfect!

Absolutely the best!!!!!!!. I seriously cant believe all the settings and customizations you can do with this app. Im a slow book learner type but a whiz with my hands ive been told. And this app is perfect for me! Hope people like me find this app.

Deutsch German language. I really like this app because me and my family are going to a wedding this summer in Germany for my cousin. Also this app is not a playing a game app but now I can speak a little German !! Which is cool . So if you want to speak a different language get this app in Deutsch which means German.

Academic. I am learning German as a requirement for a doctoral program. Unlike other European languages, German is extremely difficult to pronounce or read off from a text. I found this app as God sent. It is outstanding and has a lot of very practical tools. I especially love the ability to slow down the pronunciation of the word. I downloaded it three days ago and since then my seven-year-old daughter also has been playing with it and is outpacing me! Excellent APP!

What I was looking for. So other German apps make me learn phases and that’s not how I learn. I want to name things, know colors, verbs, nouns and common phrases rolled up into one and I’m pretty proud of how many German words and phases I know now since sept 2nd 2020 Still trying to put sentence together though which is tough for me. If I say something in Spanish or English I also wanna say it in German which is still challenging since nobody around to help. Just me my app and Google translate. Excited to see how long it takes before I know so many words I just start talking like it’s natural. Danke fur diese app!! Es ist wonderbar

Easy, efficient start to learning. Just started using this several hours ago and am already very comfortable with the app. Now just to see how much I can learn in a day and if I will come back to this tomorrow xD

Learning quickly. Repetition equals mastery. Practicing 30 minutes every evening and on the ride to and from work. It’s up to the user to maintain progress and stay focused. Only thing I would change is the Siri voice.

..??. Yeah this is terrible, there's no way to know what to do with this app. Glad I can listen to someone say really basic German words over and over again though. You're supposed to be able to record and listen to yourself, there's the little wheel at the bottom which tells you all the cool things you SHOULD be able to use, like the accent inspector, and then.... still all you can do is listen to basic German words? Useless.

So far so güt. I'm on my fourth day and the ability to listen, repeat, record yourself and compare is a great feature. Also, the ability to choose the number of new words you learn each day is helpful. App is very easy to navigate.

Learning German. This is a truly fantastic app! I downloaded it on Monday, and I am now speaking better German than I ever have before. I can spell words correctly, adjust speed, and review my stats. I strongly recommend this app to anyone who is trying to learn quickly and effectively. Love it!

We don’t like not understanding what people say around there, but this helps so much! My sister and I hate learning languages so if y’all know what we mean, but we have a such a great time and we’re so young and this is great to learn! And I’m only 11! It’s sehr gut!❤️

What to do?. Downloaded the App today and deleted it today. I was using it and was enjoying it, but when I needed to get out of it, it continued to play over and over the first 10 words. There is no way to shut it down when finished doing the lessons. What am I doing wrong? There is no main menu to go to and select to quit. What do you do? And really no instruction on what to do for the entire program.

Incredible tool!. I can’t believe how fast I’m learning to speak German. Was able to carry a 10-min conversation with a native speaker this weekend after using the app for only 2 months. Was I perfect with my grammar and pronunciation? Not yet, but I made myself understood and I could follow their responses (or ask for clarification) without too much trouble. Love the way the app gives me control of the pace of learning, daily stats to motivate and reflect on my process, and makes it so convenient to squeeze in a few minutes of practice throughout my busy day. My only worry is what I will do once I have mastered all 1200 words in the app.

Great Foundation!. I wanted an app that would help me build a base vocabulary. The one thing I really like this app is you can press “play” and you can practice the words by listening and repeating, you don’t have to be on the app. I would put in my headphones and practiced as I walked home from school. This app did give me a good base to build from. One thing I would improve on this is including the German articles in the pronunciations.

Missing Important words. This app is a good start for people who are just starting. I like the way of the layout which makes it easy to manage, and find things. But what I noticed is that there are some basic words missing, for example aufstehen (to wake up), anmachen (turn on). Just basic words like that. Also it is very important to know the pronoun of the words in German, der, die, das (which in English means “the”). Those are crucial to learn the language. I would really like to give this app a 5⭐️ review, but it’s missing too much in my opinion.

Great way to learn!!!. I will be traveling to Austria for study. So I thought I'd learn a little bit of German to make it easier. Little did I know how easy this app is helping me to learn German. It is way more useful than I thought possible. Practical. Good sound. The free version is outstanding, and now I have purchased the whole deal. This is the way to go. My wife is going to learn French!

I’m speaking German!. It has only been one month and I’m speaking, reading and writing German. It’s groBartig!!!!!! All other language instructional programs only allow you to speak. Good for total beginners ONLY. This is probably very helpful for total beginners who have zero vocabulary. But it is totally useless for anyone beyond beginner stage. I thought I could learn more complicated words and phrases. But this app barely shows anything beyond basic basic basic words and phrases. I'm barely intermediate and can barely find anything new in this expensive app, which is also VERY limited with vocabulary and phrases.

Very good. I recommend getting this app if you are trying to learn German... personally I do t find it to help completely but out of all the apps to learn German I have tried this has been the best one so far... I love the language and to learn it it’s mostly awesome for me to i do recommend it

one flaw (for me). Nemo German is enjoyable, and is a simple, pleasant way to throw some useful vocabulary into the mix. Or it is for most, and would be for me if it were possible to turn the spoken English OFF, completely. Even taking it down to zero via settings leaves it audible. This one aspect, which, for me, emphasizes and entrenches translation rather than a move toward a "felt sense" of the target language, makes the app just frustrating. Sadly. Because otherwise it's great.

Stays on you. Reminds you each day to practice your German! The pronunciation by the recorded voice is very good. I especially like that you are able to learn a certain amount of words a day at the users discretion (I choose 8, the suggested amount if I'm not mistaken) and I am grateful the user has the option to go back to previous days "lessons". By comparison, other language apps do not have this option. If you want to learn German this is the app for you. But like anything it will take diligence and patience to truly gain from it.

Great app. You can't go wrong.. I've been using this for about a week and have painlessly learnt >50 words and phrases. I'm just learning for fun, but this app would be relevant in an academic or travel setting as it emphasises spoken German. I have the free version. The audio player is terrific. The daily word packages are well curated. This is a useful app for a beginner like me. I intend to keep using it and expect that content will continue to incrementally build upon previous lessons. I cannot comment on grammar lessons as I am not in quite that deep yet. Free download. Cannot go wrong with this app.

This WWOORRKKSS!!!!. This is the first review I've ever written about anything. I felt the need to write a review because this app works. Don't, spend $200 on Rosetta Stone, pay the $10 dollar upgrade here and be speaking german in 1 week. Great app works awesome!! Highly recommend, I'm a truck driver so learning for me was fast and super easy. I just play the lessons while driving. GGRREEAATT APP!!

Great app!. Great scientific app. Works well and simple. Connects with music app, to be played there, or let the music go in background. Accents are good. I wish it was some cheaper for full version, I think it would help to wide spread, and sell. By the way, thanks guys. Das ist grosartig!!

Hands free?. I wanted to be able to listen to German lessons at work. I work in an office and it is pretty simple to do my job and still be able to listen to music or German lessons. The so-called hands free part of this app last about five minutes then you have to get back on your phone and enter in the next lesson. I’ve already got a fairly good understanding of German. Not fluent by any means but I found the lessons even after I paid for the full app to be silly easy. Not at all impressed.

Worth the Money. This is an amazing supplement - key word, supplement - to formal learning. I say that specifically because of grammar. If the goal is to learn a few phrases if you’re traveling, its perfectly fine but if you are trying to learn German in-depth, you’ll need to study outside of this. However this doesn’t promote itself as a comprehensive guide and if you go in knowing that, this is perfect. Works great if you are beginning german and trying to learn basic phrases, pronunciation, and spelling and helps build stronger foundations for more advanced study. 5/5

Great for driving to and from work!. I have a very busy schedule, but this app allows me to practice my German to and from work. You just press play and the words automatically show up in English, and then a few seconds later in German. No need to take your eyes off the road!

Wonderful Way to Learn On the Go. Let's just go ahead and get this out of the way: I love this app. Studying on the go has never been easier. From what I've used of it (I've done about three weeks' worth of studying so far) it's not as robust as say a Rosetta Stone, but it's not claiming to be that. Being able to select what words and phrases you're studying; select the speed at which each word is read aloud; and using the app's flash card functionality makes Nemo a wonderful companion. Great experience (and bang) for the price.

Using this everyday. I have been using this app for 4 days already and I feel I’m already making progress. I didn’t think Deutsch could be so easy to learn but this app sure makes it easy! Love it I will be getting the full app once I hit the limits and then I shall give my full review. Thanks creators!

Flexible. It gives you a choice of several ways to meet new words or review words (or phrases). And you can perfect your pronunciation as much as you care to. I've used this, and Duolingo, for both French and now German. Inexpensive and, for me, effective.

Some recommendations. The app is okay but the price is insane!! Other than that here are recommendations for the developers: 1) Nouns should be shown with their article. For example, it should say “der Apfel” instead of “Apfel” and then a little “m” underneath it. That small change would help people memorize the article so much better and articles are everything in German. 2) Non-nouns should be shown uncapitalized. It makes it more clear that it is not a noun and is a adjective/adverb/noun/whatever and will help people more quickly process it. 3) The bottom bar that you move to show your familiarity with a certain vocab word is hard to access with newer phones, as it thinks you are trying to close the app. Make it bigger and/or move it somewhere else. Also don’t make the bar so exact; three notches of not familar, somewhat familiar, and mastered would suffice. 4. Create a more efficient mode of learning the vocab. Make one where you don’t have to do one word at a time, like a list of vocab words or something. Show a word in German that you have to type in English. Put mini-quizzes like matching words. 5. Make it free, you’ve earned enough money by now and have certainly payed off all the costs of making the app. Universalize education. Feel free to steal my ideas I want this app to finally be worth the money I paid!!

Great app for learning a new language. Hi, I am 30 years old and this is the first time that I've ever tried to learn another language. This app is easy to use and no ads:) and just as another reviewer said " it sticks with you!" I am actually learning a new language and it's really exciting!! It makes learning a new language fun plus I really like how clean the app is! Once I learn the free 101 German words I will definitely be purchasing the full version for the $9

Herr David. Doing the flash cards has gotten me so far. I have also been doing other basic German Language programs. Some aspects have become frustrating. There are inconsistencies in some words, and especially phrases with other programs. I am a very beginner so am not sure if this is German in general, or if the flash cards contain mistakes. It makes me apprehensive in memorizing some of the flash cards. Please also update and add to the content.

Really helpful. This app is great for the basics of German and can teach you a whole lot more if you buy the full version. Epic. This app is honestly really good I’ve tried to learn German before on Duolingo but I have never had the drive to do it. But this app makes me want to learn German everyday cause it’s way better at teaching beginners especially with the two sided cards and the voice thing where you can record yourself then hear them back. And the thing where you can hear them pronounce the words slowly so you can get down the accent perfectly. I really love this app I’ve learned more German words in the week I’ve had this app than I did in the 5 months I used Duolingo. Duo is good for some but personally I learn better visually and with hearing stuff. But that’s just me I would definitely recommend for anyone trying to learn German.

A great app for beginners. I'll recommend this for my German students. The biggest problem with the app is that words that are not nouns are written with a capital letter, eg, Sehr. This can be confusing for a learner when trying to distinguish between the various parts of speech because German nouns always begin with a capital letter. Otherwise, it's a great app.

Found Nemo.. This is my go to for learning a new language. It’s best for travelers because it focuses on essential phrases with the option to go deeper. I also appreciate that it is not just phonetic English.

Very good. I always download many language apps, and they are too slow or simple. This one, goes faster, good speaker, a lot of vocabulary. It is perfect for a beginner learning German. Love it!

Very good Instruction. The only negative I have so far is that the daily words don't seem to change (or I have misunderstood something). But everything else seems great and worth buying the full package.

Learned 94 words in 3 days. I am learning useful phrases and vocabulary quickly with Nemo. It is great for driving. I just wish the slider was a little wider. It is hard to swipe because it is so narrow.

No selection for level. The Words suggested to learn cannot see the pattern. If the learning plan can base on German course level and also selectable will be better. I am regretted to purchase it, as it is too simple for A2.1 learner.

Good app - one quibble. This app is great for vocabulary. I put it on while I’m driving or doing mindless work and it’s perfect. BUT... There’s no easy formula for articles in German. In English, it’s all “the” (perhaps the only easy part of English). In Spanish, the final letter of the word gives it gender: ends in a it’s feminine. This good app would be better with articles. So instead of popping up as “bread... Brot, man... Mann, girl... Madchen,” it would be “das Brot, der Mann, das Madchen...” allowing users to memorize the articles. Otherwise, good app!

Wish I had this during my high school days.. This app is Wunderbar, keep up the great work and please add Scottish and Swahili and maybe Latin.

Conversation. Since the vocabulary is the material for the language, the conversation feature using those words should be expanded. More advanced words and sentences with daily applications are missing. Too much redundancy and get bored.
