App is tedious. The app has worked in the past but for the last few months I can’t access any issues. What’s the point of my subscription?!

App Is Working Hreat. I had trouble with the app several years ago but I’m not having any trouble now. They must have gotten rid of the bugs!

Not working anymore. I decided to see if the App had been fixed since the last time I tried to use it, same problem - starts to download an issue then freezes. This has been going on for months, it’s disgraceful they’re allowed to have it in the App Store. The App will no longer download current issues of the Washingtonian Magazine; I contacted support and they verified that it does not work with IOS 14.

Doesn’t work and getting no assistance.. The app hasn’t worked since Apple updated the iPad OS. I sent a help request last week and haven’t heard anything. Not impressed.

Needs some significant updating. First: you cannot turn the screen on your iPad vertically to view each page separately thus making it easier to read the abundantly small text (at least I have not figured out how to do this) Second: when you expand the page to read the text it takes a painfully long time to reprint and focus the text and it reprints every time you scroll around the same page to complete reading the page Not happy I am paying full price subscription for a still unacceptably defective emagazine app Need to fix these promptly in an updated app release to keep your future subscribers satisfied

Digital at Last. The hard copy magazine as good as it is usually sits in our living room unread. With iPad access the magazine is with me when I have time to read. It loaded into the newsstand app no problem. Well done.

Excellent UI. This app doesn't have the interactivity of the National Geographic Magazine app but, then again, few do. It provides a a very clean and easy UI, though, with very easy ways to navigate around and also offers access to back issues. My one compliant is that issues take too long ton open when they're already downloaded. Still, it's excellent.

App does not work. I have being purchasing this for years but the app has not let me log in for months. I have tried everything and nothing. I enjoyed this magazine but why pay for something that does not work.

Simple to use, I would like more links. Easy to use to do a straight forward reading of the magazine. Not much is different between reading the digital and paper copy versions. Not much is enhanced.

Washingtonian. We subscribe to the hard copy edition. Great to get the iPad app and get expanded pictures of featured articles. Easy to navigate. Had the hard copy sitting next to me, on line copy identical. Now will always have latest copy to read when stuck in various waiting rooms.

App doesn’t work. Impossible to login as a subscriber. Useless

Great app for great mag. Love that they don't charge extra for electronic access. They always give me ideas on new things to check out in DC.

Washingtonian is brilliant. When you're stuck for something to do, this is the app to turn to. Also makes great metro reading.

Great way to view Washingtonian.. Great way to view the magazine. Best to select issue to download and let it finish the download before viewing -same as all other magazines on iPad. Thanks Washingtonian!!

Good magazine, irritating app. For as hyper-competent as Washington, D.C. is, this app really lacks attention to detail. I had no problem logging into my account, but I find its user interface to be slow, clunky and pedantic (e.g.: the little blue squares that pop up over the blue "plus" icons to show me that, yes, the little pluses really do indicate that a photo gallery can be linked to...). Additionally, I absolutely hate that in said photo galleries, I cannot figure out how to read the entire caption. Fix it.

App is a nightmare. The app doesn’t work most of the time. Impossible to download digital editions and as others have stated, the login process is tedious. Do not see the necessity to log in each and every time, it it works. Just frustrating!

Works well, not great. I am not a subscriber, so I decided to subscribe to the digital version. The app downloaded quickly but it took forever to download the magazine itself. Also, I'm reading this on the new iPad and finding that when you zoom in on text it sometimes takes a few seconds to render the text in a clear version rather than a blur of text... It can take anywhere from a couple of seconds to as much as a full minute. To me, that is the one downside of this app.

Disconnect. I enjoy the content about my hometown folks, especially media folks. However, when there was a problem accessing my “digital” subscription help could not be found. “...sorry, you’ll have to call Apple!…” or “...oh, you’ll have to call the 877 number”. “…Do you know the account number...what is your name again, please spell it?” So, no real solutions except to task the subscriber, or potential one, to check here and there. I believe the quality content of your magazine requires a higher level of customer service.

Content not Process. The app works fine, it's the content that's lacking. There's no screening restaurants-- good or bad, they're pushed as 'the best in the area.' Other articles are flashy, but start to read them and soon your mind wanders. Sad, really. Captive audience, huge potential, reasonable price-- but not as interesting as flipping through 300 cable channels; though they try to be. Maybe they should try harder.

App does not function. The app does not work. It does not authenticate. I have talked with customer support at least twice and nothing happens. Very frustrating. This has been going on for some time.

Washingtonian Magazine Digital. Still learning to use but appears to be very good. I can access the magazine when I am traveling on business overseas instead of buying local magazine usually in foreign language.

Dreadful App. What a bunch of incompetents are the developers of The Washingtonian app. Almost nothing works apart from prompts to buy issues. You can’t download an issue. You can't access back issues. You can read a desktop digital edition but only in a partial screen format. Don’t even bother. Read the print edition or skip this publication entirely.

Doesn’t work. I’ve tried to restore purchases multiple times on my new phone. Nothing happens. Fix this or refund my money.

app is seriously flawed. App does not function as advertised. i have to go thru "sign up" process each time i want to read, and download the issue each time. The pages displays as whole PDF like pages of the print version. There is no excuse for the lack of a true digital edition.

App stopped working. The app on my iPad has almost always work perfectly. However I tried to download the latest March edition and am unable to do so. I signed out I sign back in, I deleted the app and reinstall the app, I have sent two emails to customer support without responses yet. I am very frustrated

Love it but.... ... The apps takes ages to open and crashes very often. When it works, the content is great, I loved the special edition "Washington guide" with linked maps of neighbourhood and restaurants. These maps should be available in every digital edition! Very useful to pick up a restaurant when you decide to visit a part of the district!

Not very efficient. I don't like that you have to zoom in and out to read the text. It takes a long time for the text to adjust. I don't like the fact that it is a scan of the print version of the magazine. Washingtonian should take a look at Vanity Fair or entertainment weekly for how to properly convert to a digital version of their magazine.

Could be a LOT better. Been a print subscriber for a whiie. The publishers are generous in giving gratis access to the digital version to subscribers, but I'm not sure it's truly a benefit. The app loads issues very slowly, crashes when you try to remove them from your iPad, doesn't display the newest issue on the Newstand, and isn't optimized for digital viewing. There's probably more issues, but these are the most annoying. Ms. Merrill - someone needs to pay attention to this app, and bring out a significant update

App now freezes every time I try to download an issue. This app used to work, but it hasn’t worked for months now. I’ve deleted it and reinstalled it, restarted my iPad, logged in and out of my Washingtonian account, and it always freezes right after I start downloading an issue. Haven’t been able to read the last two issues. Auto-renew now turned off.

Washingtonian App shines. My wife and I love the crisp, clean and shiny bright look and feel of the Washingtonian App. It's glossy and as even more fun to read since the app offers so much more content. And, no trees died... Todd and Suzanne House

PDF. The updated version is 1000 times better. The prior version was useless. The new version is comparable (instant page turns) to a physical magazine.

Home away from home. I am a regular international traveller. I prefer to travel light but like to stay in touch. Having the Washingtonian on the iPad makes it more enjoyable when I have to be away. I am flicking through it over breakfast in Belgrade and am mentally transported to my lounge-room at home in Washington. The ipad version is easy to read and easy to browse though. The pictures and colors are great and it is easy to resize and still read comfortably.

How dumb are these people? Let me count the ways..... At this point in the 21st century, you would think a presumably professional publication like the Washingtonian couldn't possibly be as inept and downright dumb as the release of this unfinished and untested app reveals them to be. I've lost ALL my issues. ALL of them. This app is one more good argument for why the magazine business in America is on its last legs. It's all too frequently run by idiots.

App Still Doesn't Work. I've rated this App 3 times now and the login process is still frustrating. We have 1 account and 2 iPads. Today I could login using both iPads but I could only download the October issue to 1 iPad so 1 of us must read while connected to WiFi. Perhaps their is a rule allowing only 1downLoad per account. App doesn't retain your login still. If this is by design that’s counterproductive to the ease of mobile devices. IOS 11 is out so this needs updating to be compatible with that too. Paper is so out of fashion but don’t trust this App to replace your paper copy.

Unusable. I dislike this app for a number of reasons, especially when compared to the app for The New Yorker magazine. First, The Washingtonian app does not allow me to change the font size, so I am forced enlarge the page, which then requires me to scroll up and down and side to side in order to read the entire page. The New Yorker app allows me to enlarge the font size, and then rebuilds the pages to fit the screen without having to scroll in any direction. This makes reading the content much easier. Second, why can't I rotate the screen and read in landscape mode? The fact that I have to swipe through to the next page to see the picture and authors names that accompany a story is ridiculous. As a Washingtonian, I love the content, but hate the app. PLEASE model your app after the New Yorker app. Maybe the inferiority complex felt by Washington when compared to New York is deserved.

Terrible-. App crashes. Back issues will not delete from ipad. Log-in is a complete mess and not intuitive. You cannot login with your Washington web account – the two are not linked and there are no clear instructions on how to do so. I can only long-in with the account info on the address mailer of the paper magazine, which defeats the purpose of using the app. Downloads pause for no reason. Really poorly designed.

Not Renewing Subscription. My subscription is up for renewal this month and I won’t be renewing. The 2 most recent editions of the magazine will not download. Why pay for a subscription when I can’t access it?

Digital Access. I am a print subscriber; excited about digital access. But can not access my digital copies. The March issue, pg. 12, bottom right of page instructs how to access for iPad users. I do not have an email account so I need instructions to authenticate my print account using my WSH sub acct. Thanks!

Digital is Nice. I found it easy to subscribe to the digital edition. I can now recycle my print copies & keep these digital versions to read on the go. I would prefer an updated version that supports the new iPad retina display.

App unresponsive. The app has been completely unresponsive. It freezes and I can’t read my content.

Found the Answer. So if you're a digital only subscriber the "Sign In" button at the top left corner of the app won't work because it is only for print/digital subscribers. It is unnecessary to Sign In if you only get the digital subscription. The magazine will automatically download every month.

New platform is a big improvement. Until the Washingtonian team updates back issues to the new ADP format, they won't be visible in the app. Otherwise, the new platform works much better than the previous system in terms of response time and overall polish.

Love this mag. Great to read digitally. Photos and videos come brightly to life. With the newest release it seems very easy to navigate. I still love the print too but if you like mags online this one is worth getting.

Great to keep up on our city. Love the magazine and the iPhone app

No longer have access to online version of print app. What a rip off. So tired of apps that remove features and conveniently "forget" to include that in the update info. Nowhere in the update description does it say "Hey, print subscribers, you no longer have access to the digital version of our magazine, you're welcome". So after being a print subscriber for years that loved to have digital access for traveling etc. without having to bring the physical magazine with me, they have decided, without warning, to remove his feature. To make matters worse, they have removed access to the issues I had already downloaded! Probably just cancel our print subscription as it really lowers the value of that option based on how I usually read it but won't be adding the digital subscription; it's stupid to pay $10 to access something we already pay for a print subscription and a digital only subscription doesn't work for us either. As my wife and I have separate Apple accounts and so we would have to pay twice for the digital subscription. To bad really, as I liked the magazine but not enough to have them rip me off like this.

App doesn’t work. Will not open. No one seems to care or fix it. Nice... good magazine horrible digital access

has anybody from the mag tried this?. they would fire the developer. Useless, removed from ipad. Pages take forever to load, don't appear to download, and after paying for a subscription online, it doesn't recognize me even after following login instructions so it wants to charge me for every issue! Obviously oblivious execs...

Maddeningly late each moth. This magazine which I read online is significantly late each month. There's no reason for it to be predictably late each month and when I call or email to ask them where is my issue they only tell me its late but never a reason why it's consistently late.

Absolutely awful. Not only did the update erase all of my issues, but it forgot me, requiring a log in. Since its been months, I've forgotten my password. No problem, right? Just click on "forgot password?" No of course not, you do that, it takes you to the website and your account, but nowhere does it give you your password, or a hint, or a link to follow to change it. USELESS. And awful awful awful. I will NOT be re-subscribing.

Outstanding. I really like the interactive features and looks really nice on my iPad Mini. Although I get the magazine delivered. It's nice to get a few extra bonus features using the app. Great job.

Useless. I am a print subscriber, and followed the instructions for logging in, but I can't access the issues. I emailed Washingtonian 2 weeks ago and got no reply.

Unable to access issues online. I am a longtime print subscriber. The app contains instructions for logging in to get my content, but they do not work and I am unable to access any of the issues. This used to work and the fact it doesn't now is annoying.

Crash, no support. I would have given the app zero stars, if I could have. The fall/winter guide crashes at page 19. Remove/reload doesn't help. Support useless. Has anyone at the Washingtonian magazine tried to read their guide from start to finish on an ipad3 using 6.0.1? Must fix to be relevant.

Almost unusable. Used to be a joy reading the magazine in print, this app is junk and it's painful to navigate between pages that I only read a few pages each issue now.

Washingtonian. Great mag for all areas of greater Washington - new arrivals along with those who grew up here.

Go digital. Love the digital version! Very convenient when travelling and carrying the IPad with Washingtonian digital version.

Not worth it. It keeps crashing every time I turn it, I have to start all over again, including searching for the issue. I wish it would stay where you left off from.

Great companion to the print edition. Not quite as good as the feel of paper, but super convenient and fast load times.

Great Magazine. I love the Washingtonian magazine. Now that I can access it on my IPad I am enjoying it even more. Some wait times for downloads though.

Terrible...fix it!. Takes to long for pages to "load" if they even show up at all. More often than not it just crashes when you try to do anything...like turn the page. Fail.

Washingtonian Magazine. This App no longer works with the new iOS. How is it possible that this has not yet been updated? Magazine crashes every time you try to download a new issue or open. I have deleted and re-downloaded twice but to no avail. I want my money back.

Takes up too much space. This app takes up entirely too much space on my iPad. It also rarely works well and issues take very long to download. Please figure this out.

Gold Standard. Why can't The Washingtonian get this right? It signs me out all the time. Grrr. The sign-in is almost impossible to find. Grrr. It wants me to pay for issues I own. Grrr. And when you get there, finally, it is not awesome. Grrr.

Do not update!. The app update signed me up for two subscriptions and gets caught in a subscription sign up loop that bricks my entire ipad. It also deletes access to older copies of the magazine.

Still the Worst app. Still the worst magazine app. It does not remember my print subscriber information. When the app opens it show what the login values are for print subscribers are, but there is no place enter them. I only get the offer to buy the magazine again.

Love this rag!. This magazine makes me want to move to Washington and embrace the culture.

App is broken. I'm having the same problem. Can't access the library and logging out and logging in again has no effect.

So far so good.. I have not spent much time with the digital version, but so far I am enjoying it.

App doesn't work!!!. The app doesn't work! I would open up the app and nothing happens! I can't view any of my subscriptions! I just signed up for a new subscription too. This is ridiculous! Please fix it!

Wonderful app. Great magazine. Purchasing through iTunes was easy.

Just Subscribed But Unable To Use. I just subscribed to this magazine, but now I can't open or even download an issue without the app crashing. Any ETA for an update to fix this?

Great Update. Great App! Now I have all my Washingtonians with me on my iPad and can read them on the plane. Social sharing is cool too.

Not even one star. Hands down the worst of any mag software. Like the website the digital presence for this magazine is a choppy, disjointed mess. I would love to get a refund (or even some sort of direction as to how to fix this garbled joke of an iPad version) and a memo to Garrett you might want to start looking for a new vendor to redevelop a workable app.

Not tablet optimized. This app precisely recreates the magazine on a tablet, which is the wrong approach. Individual pages are very difficult to read on an iPad mini and font size cannot be adjusted. The publisher should take a look at The Economist (admittedly text heavy) but also Vanity Fair, which dynamically flow text, making it a pleasure to read.

A has-been app. Sadly the recent poor reviews are correct. What used to be fairly simple downloads of individual issues now don't occur at all. At least I have the actual magazine, but it would be nice if they fixed this thing.

Digital Review. This is my first experience with Washingtonian and this app is horrible. I've had problems getting into different magazines with long download times. The navigation needs to be updated. Bad first experience. I would pass on this app.

Not good. I just paid for the iPad edition and just downloaded the updated app. I cannot access what I have paid for. I've restarted, re-installed, and called customer support. Will probably ask for refund.

Digital Access. I am a print subscriber; excited about digital access. But can not access my digital copies. The March issue, pg. 12, bottom right of page instructs how to access for iPad users. I do not have an email account so I need instructions to authenticate my print account using my WSH sub acct. Thanks!

Non-functional app with no customer support. I have just downloaded the application. What a waste of time! The application is unabe to download electornic editions of the magazine. It is enough to move me toward cancellation of the print edition.

Worse than ever. Says it is unable to load my library and provides no reason or remedy for that. The only options are to sign out and sign back in. Doing that does not fix the problem.

April 29th Update - HORRIBLE. I have spent the last hour trying to figure out why I can't access my back issues! This update is ridiculous, it should have come with a warning label.

Worthless. So disappointing because I was a print subscriber for several years and decided to try this to save money and paper. Needless to say I am disappointed because the app won't sign me in or download anything. I have now wasted the money for no product.

Disaster. Only giving one star because zero stars is isn't an option. Would crash after opening before iOS8, now it won't open at all. Complete disaster as an app. Love the magazine, but PLEASE get this fixed!!!

Love it !. I love that it isn't just a scan of the magazine...it also includes photo galleries and the occasional video

Doesn't quite work correctly. Where is the login? A lot of instructions but no login. In mag, gets into a loop and just stays in a loop. I have to exit program, reboot and it goes back to normal until I do it again. Not the best magazine app. Needs work. Publisher should consider Zinio.

Crashes all the time. If only the app would load a magazine without crashing! Also having issues with it showing me how to log in, but I'm already logged in. Then it crashes again.

App is horrible. The app is extremely slow even when the content has been downloaded already. Magazine is ok.

Like the magazine, hate the app. Loads very slowly, crashes everytime you try to download. Very unstable app, needs lots of work and would be nice since when you do finally get it to download the magazine is good. Glad i still get it in paper.

Terrible Update. New version is very confusing and cannot access older issues. Older version was 100% better.

Love this magazine. The editors do a fantastic job.. Awesome. Best subscription I have ever made.

Terrible. It asks me to log in even though it already has my account information. It crashes every time I try to delete an issue. And page font can't be changed.

Worst app ever on ipad 1. This thing does nothing but crash. Hopeless. Revision. Found that ipad requires hard reset after downloading issue to function properly

Subscription Issue. I really enjoy the app, but I am no longer able to access issues as part of my subscription. The lock will not go away even though I log in with my correct information.

Update Crashes Every time an issue is removed. Please fix you new update. We need the ability to remove issues we've read.

A total pain to link to print subscription. This app is poorly designed with a lot of steps required to do something as simple as link an existing subscription to gain access. Rather than waste further time I've deleted the app.

Not user friendly. Clunky to read and zoom in

Love it!. App is slow loading but I love the magazine. been getting it for years.

So far so good. I am liking this electronic version a lot. On the new iPad it looks wonderful.

Please, fix this app. Or at the very least, let us know when you are going to get around to doing that.

Great magazine!. Love this magazine! Tells all the latest events in the DC area!
