Still using this app. Been using this for years and it still provides me with all the info I need to navigate shortwave.

Really helpful and important to a newbie. Still learning, on a limited time basis. My fault. This app keeps me motivated that I can find a station/s that I can hear. So important for me. Thanks for the app. Bill B

Excellent app for SWL'r. I just started using this app and I really like it. Easy to use and understand, with the on now feature makes shortwave stations identifiable even though their non English speaking stations. Logging is super easy, just a push of a button with the ability to make comments and write signal strength reports. At any price this is a very nice SWL utility. Improvements or upgrades that I'd dream of would be a receiving station lat/Lon specific sort. As in "what stations maybe available to the east coast of North America ." Otherwise I can flip open my IPAD pro, sit it next to my listening post and enjoy what's left of the SWL bands. - WI6N

No longer works with iOS 11.3. Awkward navigation when it still worked. Much easier to use other online resources with browser. Disappointing, as I really wanted something that works without a network connection. iOS 11.3 on iPad Pro 9.7

Essential App. Easy to use, can’t imagine how many stations I missed before this app. Some of the entries come from obscure locations and rare languages so a glossary of abbreviations used by the app would be helpful.

Absolutely first rate!. I have this app on both my iPhone and iPad, One of which is always nearby when I'm listing to my shortwave radio. This app is invaluable!! If you're a casual shortwave listener it's a must-have.

Very Useful App!. I use this app all the time. It covers from 10 kHz where there is submarine communication on the VLF all the way up to the top of the shortwave broadcasting band. There are many ways to sort through what you want, by country frequency time etc. Besides the shortwave broadcasters, I really like the fact that a lot of utility stations are listed. Very well done and informative!

Pity I Had to Give This 1-Star. Before you waste your money on this massive rip-off--this is NOT a radio of any sort whatsoever. It's a "list" of shortwave channels. All you need is a shortwave radio. If you like to stare at static lists of numbers, this is your find of the day. Picking lint off of a sweater is a whole lot more fun.

A Must Have for Short Wave. I just downloaded it yesterday and have found it to be a powerful tool for any Short Wave enthusiasts. Takes a little while to find all the navigational features, but well explained in the FAQ section. I had been looking for such an app for a while. Glad I found this one. And, an added benefit, it is always current!! ‘73’s WB5LVP

Simple but useful. This is a very bare bones app. It shows radio schedules and allows you to log what you find (great for DXers). The forced landscape is a little weird, but you get used to it. No ads, no unnecessary fluff, just straightforward and to the point.

Well thought out app. It takes a little getting used to but once you figure out the menu structure and the things you’re able to filter with, this tool becomes extremely useful.

Detailed and up to date. I’ve been using this app for several months. It is very accurate. It doesn’t matter if you listen to LW, SW or utilities, this app has it listed. I use it daily and without a single regret.

The best; the only. Great for those of us still listening for ghosts in the ether. Happy the developer maintains such a comprehensive database.

Mad. I thought, it could be heard on my iPhone. After I got it, it said I have to have a short wave radio. It didn’t say before, so I lost my money.

Not that great of an app. This app lack functionality like being able to filter the broadcast by country and by language. Some of the broadcasts don’t exist anymore. Save your money!

Excellent performer. I’ve come to love this app. I I haven’t found any errors or omissions, and no real bugs. For casual shortwave listening from a metro-urban location it’s a perfect companion to a portable receiver. The update-on-demand is particularly appreciated. My one-item wish list would be to export the logs in some simple way, but that doesn’t stop me from giving five stars today.

Works but could use an update. The app does have some sw schedules but the app itself doesn’t comply with modern iOS standards.

Great Resource. I have this app on my iPhone SE 20 and my iPad 2nd generation - works equally well on both. I especially like the “On Now” feature to review English language broadcasts I may want to listen to. Frequent updates keep everything current.

Lazy implementation. I don’t think the developer really tested this app before shipping. As a developer myself I feel this is one of the laziest implementations I’ve seen in the App store. If a large unsortable list of data is what you are looking for this may be your app. Beware of bringing up the keyboard — the only way to dismiss (on iPhone at least) is to SHUTDOWN the app.

Not sure this really updates anymore. The message says the file updates... but many stations cannot be found in it that are broadcasting now.

Comphensive listings.. It actually works. I’m a SWL and ham radio operator since 1967. This is the real deal! I hope they will offer an equally elegant program for scanner enthusiasts

Excellent Shortwave Radio App. This app has numerous features (now including logging the stations you listen to) that are easy to use....sort of a Swiss Army knife for shortwave listeners. If I only I had this tool before the invention of the internet. Not only does the developer improve the app but it's also: free. Who could ask for more?

Great SWDX Tool!!. I've been using this app for years now (can't remember the exact date I first downloaded it). The best feature is its portability! I always have my iPhone with me, so just a few key clicks provides me with a list of SW stations that are currently broadcasting. I like the display format - easy to read columns, each entry hyperlinked to info about the station of interest. Easy to update, the station list provides almost instant access to schedules, target areas, broadcast languages, etc. Say goodbye to bulky 3-ring binders, clipboards loaded with station schedules that are most likely out-of-date, and manila file folders filled with hard-to-read scribbled notes! If only this app would stream the broadcast audio when you click on a station listing!! Well, one can dream, right? Are you a Kindle Fire user? There's a version of the app for your Kindle Fire, too! Buyer Beware. Read the description carefully... which I didn’t read to the very end. The very last sentence, oh by the way, this isn’t a actually radio.

Most Excellent App. This app pretty much has it all to satisfy my needs. The one thing I wished had was the ability to "add" brand new discovered frequencies to Favorites. Very useful app. To the Dev, if I missed on how to add new frequencies to favorites, please let me know. Chow

Well designed. This is a. Very thoughtfully and well designed app. It not only searches schedules but allows the user to log reception. Read the FAQ to get the most out of it! My only criticism is that the schedules could be more complete.

As of October 4,2022 this stopped working. Now it just displays old schedules from a year ago or more

Ok. FAQ mentions you can sort by freq. There is no way to it. Also edit function won’t let you edit the freq. if these were fixed, app would be much more useful

Great program. Like any app of this style there are always things that will improve it. However for the price this is a great logging program to use especially when on the road. I use it on my iPhone and it works great. I’ve never had it crashed. I have written directly the folks behind this app about suggesting improvements and they appear very open to them.

Handy and useful. Surprisingly up-to-date; quick and handy logging feature; app continues to improve over the years..keep it up!

Best SWL tool ever.. I hope this is always supported, it's the best and easiest to use shortwave station finding tool ever. Great for identifying what you're listening to also. Long time SWL but I never saw anything this convenient and quick. Love it.

Excellent tool for Shortwave listening. I have been using this app for a few days now and find it to be very useful. There are some navigation issues that need to be fixed such as dismissing the keyboard after making notes. I would also like some way to sort log files by frequency. As is, the list is sorted by date only. I would like to know if I have listened to this station before, so a lot of scrolling is required. But I give it 4 out of 5 stars for it’s overall design.

Used to be great but no longer. I posted a glowing review 4 years ago but now I’m not as enthralled by this app. Ever since I updated from my old iPhone 7 to an iPhone 15 with iOS 17 (currently 17.5.1) six months ago, the app has been unstable when logging a station. In particular, when writing notes on the log, the app crashes unexpectedly, wiping out everything I’ve written. Sometimes this happens two or three times. It is VERY frustrating. I have reported this problem twice this year, already, about three months apart, but the app’s developers haven’t done a thing about it. Furthermore, the Notes section is clunky, turning apostrophes and quotation marks into strings of miscellaneous symbols, i.e., gibberish. This app is long overdue for an update!

Excellent program. Very useful and flexible.

Great for beginners. Having no knowledge of where to start or what to look for, this app is a goldmine of information. I haven’t even had a shortwave set since I was a Boy Scout maybe 60 years ago so I have no memory of even the basics. This is wonderful for anyone with no clue or probably those who know their way around. A great resource well worth 10 times the cost of this app!

SW frequency in a flash. Very handy app. Took a little while to understand how the tables were laid out. Now good.

Shortwave Listening Must Have. Easy, simple to use app. Updates itself for the most current stations, times and frequencies. If you listen to shortwave, this is the perfect companion to your radio.

Great aid and love the logging feature. Do not confuse the following with a criticism of the app. It's great for finding broadcasts on the increasingly sparse airwaves. "On the air" listings are surprisingly accurate. Is this data crowd-sourced or does it come only from published schedules? You can edit some fields in log entries. If you could change the frequency, you could synthesize logs for new stations. That one field reverts when the entry is saved, though. It would be nice to export logged entries e.g. via email if nothing else. This app is fine the way it is, though – "feature creep" could turn it into a monster, so maybe simple is best!

Did they stop updating the schedule?. It seems this app is no longer refreshing the current broadcasting schedules. Making it as useful as a year old calendar. I hope I’m wrong. Will the developers comment on this. Or have they abandoned ship?

LOVE IT. I am a ham operator. Sometimes I like to search for shortwave radios stations . I like to find marine,aeronautics and pirate stations. Also it’s call to compare to the frequency band charts. VERY COOL.

Great app just gets better. You can see my previous raves about this programme, just notices that there has been added an alarm function which is great to remind you when certain broadcasts are on. Some stations are only beamed to area s for an hour a day. Sometimes they only have a short English programme... All good reasons for the alarm. As I have previously said, this programme keeps getting better. Great value for money.!!

About time. I have two SWL locations. One at home and the other in a Caravan park. For a while I have been taking my books and notes between both of these sites. I thought that there had to be a better way. Having previously used Black Cat Systems software for Amateur logging software and learning morse and a believer in you get what you pay for. I said to myself why not. At first I was disappointed because I changed a frequency using the app and lost the station completely. After a few attempts I gave up and watched TV with my wife for the night. We were at the Caravan park. The next day back at home I looked up the app on line and learnt that one needs to download the latest schedule updates. Once this was done I was a very happy Chappy. I will still be purchasing my WRTH hand book every year. Though this app is so handy. I have a Ten Tec radio as my main transceiver for SWL at home and have a Sony ICF 7600GR with a PK active loop for 3.5MHz to 16 or 18 MHz down at the Caravan park. I only listen to English broadcasts to Oceania. Pretty selective I know. But for other SW listeners there is a whole gambit of settings that I think will be useful to every SW listener. SWBC Sked. I am just getting back into swling after several years and have found this app to be invaluable. Being a Ham I understand the general operation but this app provides the details and info needed to make swling really enjoyable. Truly well worthwhile.

Great app need a few features. I like this SWL app so far I really would like to see a couple of features right away. 1. Map feature, when you get info on station it's displayed on a map. 2. Directly related to #1 displayed on same map your distance from station. I'm tired of using your app and the radio stations app to get all the information I need. Thanks

Not perfect, but a very good start. It's a brand new app, I have to commend the developer for a much needed app for shortwave listeners. I'm confident that with the oomments and some encouragement the developer will enhance this app. My suggestions: a means to sort which programs are beamed to specific continents, some way to mark or highlight either favorite stations and then even to add a note or two about your reception. Include a world gray-line propagation map (or a link) so that shortwave propagation can tell if a station has a chance of being heard. Summary: a good start on a very needed app.

It's. Good

Nice. Very simple, but very useful app for the shortwave listener. No more guessing about what that station is you're hearing.

Convenient little app. Works great for identifying many shortwave stations. Seems a little incomplete though on some frequencies.

Missing or wrong SW data. Some listings are accurate, but far too many individual listings are are wrong or simply missing. This App is an admirable attempt but data needs to be seasonably updated. When it works, it works well though.

Could be Better. Everything Paula_M said X2. HAVE to be able to search more than one criteria at a time. The app should be able to answer the basic question of short waving: what is on right now that I can understand and/or pick up with my radio? You can search by whats on right now, then search by language - and you lose the 'right now' you just searched for. The app is accurate - when you can find what you are looking for. I really can only use the app when I have a great deal of time to sit down and sift through all the listings to find what I'm after - other than that I really don't have time for the app.

Love the App. I like the app and use it all of the time. One recommendation: I wish they would add a logging feature our "notes" column.

Broken software. I used this about 5 times and then it stopped working. It won't open, close, update, or allow itself to be deleted or reinstalled. Seemed like a useful app. I wonder if somebody else has one that works?

Great application. This is a very good application for shortwave users. I almost always use this app on a daily basis. It comes in real handy when I am doing a mini DXpedition and I don't have a updated paper schedule with me. The updates are timely and it gives you a great overall picture of what is being broadcast. I only wish I could mate it I with my receiver.. Thanks for a great application.

Handy and feature rich. I could chase the data down on the Internet, but why if I can have it in this handy format? A big selling point for me was my phone screen doesn't mess with my radio reception the way computer monitors do. I will really appreciate it in the long run if the data stays up to date over time.

Shortwave Broadcast Schedules. Save your money on this one. Go to the internet and get scheds free. I'd like to be able to look up whats on now by freqs. You have to peck through all the stations to see what freqs are on now when there's plenty of room left on the display to straighten this up and make it more logical. I'd like to be able to select one station by frequency and then scroll down to the next one, but you can not.. I have not used any this company's other products, but this one needs some work to be worth buying. I think it has real promise and would be very handy, but right now it is just not that good for me. I will keep it in my list and maybe it will be improved and upgraded later on. We need more amateur radio and shortwave apps.

Great SWL Resource!. Does a *great* job identifying the many SW stations I receive on my new Tecsun PL-880. I like just entering the frequency, and letting the app provide info on all the stations currently broadcasting on that frequency. Convenient and easy to use!

Good start. Only wish you could search by target at time

Almost Great. The app seams to be ok. I think the company could have spent a little more time on making it more user friendly. And I am also not sure if all the information is correct. On 9395 is shows 3-4 different broadcasters all airing on the same time same freq. I think the information they are trying to convey is that all of the channels will be re broadcast on global 24 which is on that freq. The app is also kinda hard to navigate. I will say that it the app works but need much improvement.

Has great potential, but not worth it yet.. The most important feature for this app would be to sort by target country (target area of the broadcast). Since this app does not have this feature it will be a waste of time to buy it now. Also the abbreaviations for the country codes and languages are useless to most users because of the difficulty in determining what they actually mean. If these issues are fixed, then I would say that this app deserves five (5) stars. I purchased it hoping that it had these features and was very dissapointed that it didn't. I am sure the developer will say that you can find the target countries within the current app, but with all the hoops you have to jump through and time it takes, it becomes very frustrating when you are trying to have a enjoyable experience listening to shortwave broadcasts. Black Cat Systems could have a runaway app if they make these fixes.

Poorly done!. Not a good start! Country search doesn't work. Basic iOS functionality doesn't exist. Should be free till there is something worth having. I should have known better that the app store would actually have anything worth while for shortwave listening.

Very Handy. A handy app, I wish the interface was a bit more user friendly. Other than that, it's solid and perfect for the shortwave radio enthusiast.

About time. The recent update took this ap from good to outstanding. I have been using it for some time and found it accurate. Now freqs are sorted and presented in all the ways I need. This ap has enhanced my enjoyment of the hobby. My thanks to the developers.

SW app could be much better. I am constantly traveling in remote regions of the world and find this app could be much better if the filtering was easier to use and could be layered. Plus I do not know how often it's updated. Finding station that are not listed. There is much room for improvement but I will say I use the app and just struggle along .

Superb App. I love to listen to shortwave radio and the program schedules change very often and there are just way too many to remember. With this well designed app I can pull up an up to the minute schedule of all programming around the world. It is great to choose only programs in English or any language I prefer. I can even choose to display the broadcast country of origin or the target area for the broadcast in seconds. No DXer or shortwave listener should be without this remarkable app. It has has added so much substance to my ability to utilize my shortwave. And it's cheap too! Can't wait to see what Black Cat comes up with next.

Terribly inaccurate. This app is way outdated and terribly inaccurate. I would be very cautious trusting information this app provides.

Great app!. Works well, even on my small iPod screen.

Not being updated enough. This is a great app, but I question how often it's really being updated. A strong new station in Florida began transmitting a month ago, 9395, and it's still not being listed in this app. I have updated and still not there.

Just what I was looking for!. VERY happy with this app. The new ability to filter times, languages and directed audience is a great addition. The database is regularly updated automatically, so I never have to worry about whether or not the info. is current. In addition, the reminder function is another wonderful addition! Highly recommend.

Its getting better. When i purchased this app back on January it was buggy and the sked was way off. As of today i must acknowledge that it has improved cpnsideraly through the most recent updates. The program as it stands is usable and the skeds have been updated and workable. Three stars because its halfway their, five when nothing else can be added to make it better

Pretty good. A ton of listings. Wish it could do portrait mode, and wish you could do multiple filters (i.e. Both language + transmit location)

SWBC schedules. The value of this program would be greatly improved by having a key for the abbreviations. This is essential. Next improvement would be to have a link to radio station web page, where available.

Great asset to a shortwave listener!. I've had this app on my phone for quite a while and it's always accurate and comes in very handy when I'm not at my PC. Highly recommended!

Exactly what I wanted. This program is great, especially when you have some time to kill while waiting in someone's office.

Very Handy Reference. This app is extremely handy in deciphering what an SWL may be listening to on the shortwave bands. While not completely comprehensive, it lists probably about 90% + of what I hear on the bands. Notations of country of origin, directed audience, and language as well as notes about modes (CW, Sideband, etc.) are extremely helpful. Well worth the money.

Excellent. Clear, concise, portable and simple to use. I use this app all the time and am so grateful that it is available. Most importantly, it is regularly updated automatically with no intervention on my behalf. Something a book can't do!

It is ok. Would be nice if it had more features. Like being able to select more than one for the search. Like target NA, in English from Hong Kong. But still sweet app.

Highlights. I like how this app highlights in BOLD print, the stations that are on-the-air right now. This makes short wave listening so much more enjoyable.

Truly the SWL's Bible. Helps me find new DX so many ways. I'd be lost without it. Use it with my WinRadio G33DDC SDR and my TECSUN PL-660 each one on different floors of my house, with both my iPad and iPhone. Always up-to-date and exceptionally complete.

Very Useful. Money well spent.. Like others here, I wish the app had some way to decipher all of the country and language codes. That's the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. I start at the bottom of the bands and start rolling up through the frequencies. When I come to a station, I go to the app, select "On Now" and scroll down to the frequency I'm on. Done. I've used this to help me get a QSL card from Voice of Russia.

Great app!. If you have a shortwave radio you need this app. I only wish I could give it six stars!

Could be great but no cigar as yet. This has some deep problems. The first is when you list programs on the list page it does not show the target area of the broadcast. If, for example, a program is being beamed to the far east it will not probably be something a US listener will hear at all. Having to tap on each program to see the target is an unusable interface. So is having to tap to see the broadcast language. There is no key to the many abbreviations for languages and for geographic areas. Why are these even abbreviated when there is plenty of screen room. this was a very good idea for an app but, as yet, this is not a good app. I will be happy to add stars if the developer addresses these issues.
