KLTV First Alert Weather App Reviews

App shows different data on different devices. I like the app. I prefer using it. But I just noticed today that most of the data showing on my phone is different from the data showing on my friends phone. Both using the same app, but updated. It makes me lose any trust that the forecasts are accurate when the same app is showing different data for the same location... what’s up with that? Otherwise a 5 star app

Appears to *require* WiFi connection. I can’t seem to connect without WiFi...which seems peculiar since you may need it when power and/or WiFi is out. Also, no sound plays while video is playing.

Used to like this app but..... I am getting so many commercials and I can’t see the radar and see past and future movements due to these pestering commercials. I have always looked to Mark Scirto and his team but this app is driving me to find some other weather app that I can trust.

Weather app review. I love the app & like how I can watch it live and hear and keep up with the latest, but I’m never able to listen to videos you have to replay. I’ve had several phones since I first downloaded the app & it’s not worked with any of them.

No sound on video playback. Only on ads. Figures.. From the same app that makes you watch an ad before a tornado warning live broadcast, it makes sense that the only videos that have sound are the advertisements.

Too many ads. Have to wait through too many ads to see the weather. Also the future cast videos go really fast and it does not let you rewind the future cast videos, so instead I have to watch them over and over (plus all the ads again and again) to try and pin down the time the storm is supposed to hit my city.

Please fix the live stream. I love this app. I love being able to see the forecast and checking the radar when things get dicey. However, it is incredibly annoying to click on the live stream and see morning news at 11 o’clock at night. It happens way too often and it isn’t helpful when storms are bearing down on us. If there’s no one there, fine (I understand that y’all don’t live in the studio), but please stop “live” streaming morning news when it is no longer relevant.

Notification galore!. It’s a basic weather app that loves sending notifications of every rain shower in the country. I finally had to turn notifications off after waking up to 10 notifications over a 6 hour times span. Not one had anything to do weather within 500 miles of me!

Update broken. The update broke the radar it does not function at all at times now. Prior it worked just fine. iOS 16.4.1

Trash lately. I’ve used this app for years, but lately, it’s trash. The radar doesn’t work at all anymore. Probably gonna delete as soon as I find something better.

Crashes. Used this app a long time, don’t know what happened but it will not open now have to uninstall and reinstall to use now.

Horrific Ads!. The ads are placed where you can’t even see the legend when checking on bad weather. The ads are the worst ads in the entire whole of the earth. The ads ruin this app which should be about weather and alerts for bad weather. Gross ads on this app.

What a shame. This is a terrible weather app. Very inaccurate information. It could just be KLTV in general. It can be storming outside and the app will say 40% chance. Many other examples. The radar is the worst I’ve ever seen.

It’s Good When It Works. For some reason the app has been freezing up. The app screen appears but the info doesn’t download. This is the 2nd time I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app. Let’s hope whatever caused this bug gets fixed soon. Sunny skies ahead.

Radar not accurate at all. We’ve followed KLTVWEATHER for years but the last 2 weeks the radar is nothing like the actual weather happening 🤔

Why ads?. Not to be that guy when the the world outside is in a hellscape of storms and you warn of a tornado warning the last thing I have time for when trying to learn more is a stupid ad for something that's so far from my mind...

New Update is Awful. Everything was great then suddenly the app updated & now if there are any watches or warnings for a county you can’t see the actual radar to know what the rain is looking like. Right now there’s tornado watches across the map so it’s all pink & you have to look extremely hard to see the radar images. That’s with the max transparency. There was nothing wrong with the map before & now it’s just awful. Please, please go back to the way it was.

Radar map still inaccurate. Seriously? In the app today, a video suggesting inaccurate radar map could be user looking at future map & not making sure button in bottom corner says Past? For most users having it in “past’ map & still radar is inaccurate what would be the explanation? Please fix

Emergency Weather. If there is ANY way to take the mandatory commercials off when there is severe weather that would be great! I am trying to find about the tornado warning & have had to watch 2, 15 second commercials. That is not safe AT ALL for the residents in the listening area!

Ads. I hope there never is an emergency because that means I have to wait after every single ad to get a update 👍🏽

Radiar Does Not Work. When the power goes out in a storm, the radar does not show the storm system passing through the area, which is inconvenient because it is a little hard to tell if a tornado is headed straight for me or pass me. This app does not work for me.

From Hero to Zero. It USED to be accurate, it USED user friendly, it USED to help people stay safe. It provides late updates from the NWS tornado warnings, that is precious time that someone in the path of a tornado might not have. Of course, you’d have to even be able to see the warning! Guess what?! A tornado warning “box” is red, a tornado watch “box” is yellow, what color should take priority? If you guessed red, then you are officially smarter than whoever downgraded this app. Orange. The app decided that if there is both a warning and watch they’ll combine the colors and make orange. Because, nothing screams pay attention to this area like light orange in a sea of dark yellow. I am incredibly disappointed in what this app has become. Roll back the upgrades, nobody wanted this.

I could die before this loads, Too many ads. Seriously there is a tornado in my area and to watch the live stream I have to view an ad first? Seconds matter. I could die before this stupid app even opens. Almost useless with the new color scheme, blocks out the actual radar. Used to love this app but now it is riddled with ads that slow it down, waste data, and make it mostly useless. Not able to view weather like you need to.

Love it!. Great having daily, 10 day, hourly and radar all in one place! FYI...if you recently upgraded and the app is crashing...delete and re-install. Fixed it for me. 😊

Love it!. I can’t believe how much this works for east Texas! It is always accurate and user friendly. Keep up with the awesome new updates!

Radar Speed. I wish there were some way to slow the radar speed. It’s way too fast to be of use to me. If there’s a setting to for this I haven’t found it. I’d very much appreciate this option in the next update.

Crap. Always freezes, glitches bad always resets, storm trackers cut off and on just crap. Especially when it’s most important when bad storms are around 🤦🏻‍♂️

App not working. Since last update app is unresponsive and crashes

Used to be better, app preview images are misleading. Your preview images for the app are incorrect. The background colors in the radar section are black and white, not green, making it more difficult to see.

Latest update bad. Latest up is bad. It’s saying it rain and it’s not raining. Along with slow information storms. And timing is off on radar. At times as much as 18 minutes. Trouble as come and gone !

Having problems. Radar is not working properly.

Latest update...dark or light background. Please change the app back to previous status. You can no longer see where the bad weather is because of watches and warnings. It’s awful! Because of this I no longer use your app! Whoever decided to make these changes to apparently make it better is an idiot!

Poor recent update. The most recent update is awful. Radar defaults to somewhere in the NE US before quickly moving to local area. Why? The playback of past radar is too fast. It is much faster than it used to be and that makes it hard to follow the progress history. Hopefully someone at KLTV will recognize the latest update has issues and will get them fixed in a timely manner.

The app that cries wolf.. I have your app to warn me of tornadoes in the middle of the night. I do not need notifications for when the international space station will be overhead, nor what the forecast is for the local high school football game, nor for a look at my a weekly planner, especially at 6:41 am. These contrived notifications make your app worthless.

Weather. Last week I could read the Yantis weather with mark snd the others but now it’s all changed . I hate it like this.

Earthquake Map not up to date. The earthquake that occurred on 6/8/26 off the coast of Cuba, is not showing up on the earthquake map. The quake is shown on older version of app, but not most recent app version.

Not accurate radar. Currently in a bad storm and this ridiculous app radar shows it hasn’t even hit us yet even though it started over an hour ago. Not helpful at all when you really need it.

Fix notifications please!. I’ve removed all hurricane and oceanic type weather alerts in the app but continue to receive them. Immensely frustrating to say the least. It’s a good app for getting local weather and those types of alerts. I would say remove hurricane type alerts completely or at least fix the alerts so the deselected ones do not get pushed out. Thanks.

Change the radar back. New update has ruined the radar function. The watches and warnings are so dark on the map that you can’t see the actual storm. Please change it back there was nothing wrong with the old style.

Please fix speed of entering the app. I love this app accurate weather on time. Just that it takes its sweet time to load up and it’s not my phone or my service cuz I have the latest iPhone and every app that’s on my phone is real fast.

Horrible!. What happened to the great app we had for years? On the crazy night of tornados, rain etc. My radar shows Nothing!!!!!

Why. I already have the app, why do I need notifications enabled to see the 7 day forecast

Update made map unreadable. I’ve used this app for years, and love it. But the update last week changed all the colors of the watches and warnings. In addition to color changes meaning I can no longer tell what’s going on with a glance, tornado watches and warnings are both now hot pink. The exact same color. I’m going to be spending the afternoon watching the radar, as they’re predicting an outbreak for Oklahoma. But I can no longer tell where the bad stuff is. You also can no longer see the radar images over the watches and warnings. I know I can turn them off, but I need both. Can you please return it to the old colors and fix the problem with the layering?

What has happened?. Used to be to go to app for weather. Nothing about the radar is good now. Not even accurate.

App review. This is a very good app you cannot only check the weather for your local area but all over the country it also includes weather alerts for any area but the new verision will not load on ios

Can't update. I keep trying to update to the newer version and I can't. Even if I remove the app and reinstall I have the old version

My go to on tv but this app is a waste of time.. If you like commercials more than looking at a weather situation, you will love this app. The layout is ok but the auto starting commercials!! Oh, did I mention the commercials?

Update. Update made app go from 5 star to 3 star. Now every time I open the app . I have to go to overlays and turn of lightning strikes. Then go to another screen and turn off 6 warning types. Just to be able to see the radar and where the tornados are . Went from life saver to life threatening !

Too many ads. So many ads that the site cannot even settle on the screen. Never could get a good look at my location on the map.

EWD. Great app, but it is locking up recently. I have reloaded it several times without success. When it works the radar is very functional and the forecasts are fairly accurate.

Liked it better before the new update. Not loving the updated version! The radar map that shows precipitation does not allow you to see through the rain to see "street-by-street" detail. Before, I could tell when a storm/rain was headed our way. The future feature is only somewhat helpful. I loved it the way it was! :)

Awesome app! Updated 3/2/16. Still love this app. Only one small problem that i'm finding is that it will not use my current location. It's like that part doesn't work most of the time. Hope this can be fixed. Please! Wow just found out about this app today from Face Book. Thanks for making or having it made. And the app is awesome information! Oh and even direction of storms and touch them to find out what it is ie hail, ect. Y'all did a great job on this app! Keep up the great work! Update 3/2/16, well updated the app this morning and when expand view of the week to see what a day maybe I can not see all of the information for that day. I see only part of it.

Radar not working - AND ITS SEVERE STORM TIME!!!. Today the radar and storm tracks are not showing up. There was an update available - downloaded it, still no radar showing. We have bad storms coming in to the area - and no visibility??????! Worked better before. Have deleted and re-loaded and still no radar showing in the screen. Useless!!!! Will try 19 or 56! Older version did work.

Removed app from iPad. Probably an alright app but simply became weary of having to turn my iPad so the shorter sides are up and down rather than the norm. I know that sounds trivial, but all my other weather apps come up in the normal (long sides up and down) format for which my iPad case is designed, thereby allowing the iPad to be propped up at an angle for easy reading. Don't understand why they designed the app that way but it was certainly not for a viewer like me in mind. Thanks anyway.

Won’t open. Updated app won’t open with latest version of iOS. It tries to open then just closes out.

Ruined. Tried the new app, went back to the old one. All the old one needed was to be able to see the radar at full page.

New update is horrible. Update to app is horrible. You don’t do live weather anymore.

Well Developed. Awesome app. The developers did a great job on the interface. Tons better than the Weather Channel's app. KLTV is the best news & weather station out there. Absolutely love this app!

Very Very Pleased!. I have watched KLTV all of my life and have relied on them for up to date info, I have used the other local ETX apps but none of them come close to the KLTV weather app!

Accuracy. I miss Mark. These people couldn’t accurately predict the weather if the world depended on it.

The Best. The best weather app by far! Everyone in my family has it. Accurate and dependable!!

Not Great. I like the way you can set your location to an exact spot on the map instead of just a general area. I DO NOT like the carousel on the home screen or the smaller font.

Frozen. When viewing radar and pushing "future" weather patterns disappear from the radar. Can't see how it's moving.

Disappointed. I am not a fan of the new "revolving" feature on the home page. It is no longer user-friendly. It takes twice the time to find the information you're looking for. I set it to bring up the map panel upon opening the app, but it always goes to the headlines panel or alerts panel instead. Each individual page looks clean and good information is provided, so that's why I gave it 2 stars instead of just 1. I would prefer reverting back to the old version if I could.

BAD NEWS WEATHER!!. They are so bad! They go outside,and look at the sky to change their forecast!! Don’t waste your app space on these people!! LOL

Good app, but Kringle ed the older version better. This is a great app for us in East Texas. It has lots of information about daily weather available. During a severe weather event, it is often behind or hard to access. I liked having the full screen map display when the app opened, with smaller buttons to access the hour by hour or daily forecasts . It was faster. Also, how can I delete old weather alerts? You should be able to left swipe and have the option to delete.

RESOURCES UPDATED!!!!!!. What resources are you using.....FLEAS & TICKS!!!! Temp is always ten degrees off & time frame!!!! I should have gone to METEOROLIGIST school..... OH WAIT,I don’t think there is one!!! GUESS A LITTLE MORE SCIRTO!!!!!!

Problem. Something happened and now it doesn't work. I worked a few days ago. Had to delete.

New Update ruined app. I counted on the ease of use of this app. The new update took all that away. I can no longer quickly glance at the weather, I have to pick a screen. Pleas go back and look at this again.

Weather. To much time taken to do the alert.

Needs to run better. You always update the app to make it look better. You never update to make it run better. Every time I go into the app, it freezes up. I have to close out and reopen just to get to work again. I'm getting sick and tired of it freezing up. Please update this app to make it run better not look better.

Very poor upgrade. Don't like it, updated my phone and the opening ad is a pain. Havn't updated my iPad and will not, so give me an option to say I don't want the upgrade instead of "Remind Me Later"!!

WOW!!! Great App! GET THIS!!!. Absolutely beautiful! Extremely easy to use, yet complete with ALL the information I need and want. This will replace, at least, two other apps. And, honestly, EARTHQUAKE MAPPING?!? Do we NE Texans really need it? No. Do we want it? YES!!! Kudos to my favorite local news team! Now, about the news app…

Doesn't work. I've downloaded it 3 times and it won't open. Please fix the app so us new users can at least open the app. Will keep deleted until I see some positive reviews again.

KLTV First Alert Weather App. This app might be OK on a phone, but since it isn't smart enough to rotate to landscape, it is pretty much useless on an iPad. Come on KLTV, fix your app so it can be used the way a customer wants to use it!

Update won't stick!. I updated and was able to see and navigate the new features but it asks if I want to update every time I open the app.

Good app except... Great app but since the update none of the information wants to load, all I getting is ? Marks where the temp and everything else is. Even my 7+7 day is all ? Marks. But when the app does act right I love it. 👍

New is not better. The latest version of this app ruined a great app. What was one an accurate and easy-to-use source has become a mess. The revolving options on the home screen are inconvenient time wasters, and the radar map itself appears to be less accurate. I'm currently looking at what appears to be a huge red/ orange storm on the app. The KLTV television broadcast and competing weather products show much more green than orange. I've counted on this app for yard for good weather information. Not so much, now.

Great app!. Like many others, I have used numerous weather applications. This seems to be my go to weather app now. So reliable. Very up to date. It is a FULL weather app. Map, 10 day etc.

Disappointed. This up date is not good at all. Very disappoint...

Needs work. This update needs some work. I would like to be able to select what screen comes up first rather than scrolling through all the tabs. Simpler is better.

.. I love this app. I use the radar screen the most. The best part is you don't have to live in East Texas to use it, you can live anywhere. I was traveling in Atlanta and the tornado sirens went off. I was able to pull up me app and see what was going on around me. Thank you KLTV!

Bwahahahahaha. Is Mark Scirto says it will, it won’t. He’s too far left ( democrat) to get the weather right.

Good clean app. Looks good works great like all the options..... Now just bring on the rain so we can see it work fully!

Sunrise and sunset. I wish the sunrise and sunset time were on there. Or unless they are hidden and I can't find them.

Splash page too long. The splash page stays on screen too long. I know the are advertising the bank but I would be willing to pay to just get their radar and not all the fluff

Few bugs. Good radar, but future cast is no where near accurate. Using my location doesn't update the listed city at the top of the radar, although it does update the GPS icon on the map.

Recent AD addition. This full screen advertisement at the beginning of the app is annoying, and delays the main opening; along with the ad at the top of the screen, it is irritating. For years, the app did not have this... --- BUMMER ---

What's with the ad overload. This used to be my favorite local weather app. Since the new addition of these ads I can't even get to the weather. I guess I'm on the hunt for a new app. Hopefully they can change things back to the way it was before the ads invaded.

Previous Version. I just tried to use this in a severe storm situation and it proved useless, it kept failing to load. Sticking with different apps for different features would seem better than cramming everything into one app. When you have no TV or power from a storm you want something you can depend on in a mobile device.
