- It was great until a recent update kinda ruined it for me

One of the things that I like about Twitch is being able to clip moments from my favorite streamers, being able to edit and trimming the clips was always fun to do and letting you see how the clip turned out during and in the end of the trimming process was always satisfying. However after I recently updated the app the clips that I, well clipped, weren’t showing during the trimming process making it hard for me to know what unnecessary fluff I need to take out. So I pretty much gotta leave the clip unedited and hope that I timed it right which isn’t fun for me if I don’t know how it turns out after trimming it. I don’t know if I’m the only one with this problem but if I’m not and others have this problem and they can fix that issue that’ll be great and I might give it a 5 star because I actually like the app. Update: a recent update fixed it, so now I’m happy and will give it 5 stars.

- Some problems

A bug still exists that has for a long time where when in dark mode, certain movements or actions can cause the app to switch to light mode, which takes a long time and 4 menu pages to flip through to turn it back on which is inconvenient and slightly annoying. Another issue exists that when you are watching a stream in full screen mode and you double tap to open chat, and you click on a chatter’s name, a menu will pop up that allows you to gift them a sub, or look at their info etc. The problem is that when this menu pops up when in fullscreen (phone sideways), there’s no way to close the menu; you can’t click anywhere to get rid of the menu as it takes up the entire screen, and the only way to close it is to flip your device and go back to non-fullscreen, tap anywhere outside of the menu, and it’ll close. Again, this is an issue that has a solution but requires a lot of time spent to undo which can be annoying for users. A simple fix would be to add a close button for this menu, both in fullscreen and non-fullscreen. Similar to the last issue, when you tap on emotes in chat, the only way to close the menu is to click outside the menu which can be difficult/inconvenient. The same solution exists where all that is needed for this problem is to add exit buttons to menus.

- A major suggestion

I did not know this app defaults to auto play. Not to say there’s anything wrong with auto playing streams themselves but I was not aware of it and as a result I assumed a stream would end if I let the phone be. Halfway through a late night stream, I fell asleep without worries. However, I woke up and found my phone went from 100% to 13%. The streams stopped it from naturally falling into sleep mode after I unplugged it and set it to low power mode. This night of nonstop video playing no doubt harmed my phone battery’s maximum capacity, meaning it will be quicker to drop to 0% in the future and I did not intend for that. My suggestion is that you please make a pop up for mobile that stops the stream, live or otherwise, and asks the viewer “Are you still there?” after one or two auto plays have already occurred without outside input. If there’s no further response, the phone can fall into sleep mode. If there is someone still watching, they’ll tap ‘Yes’ and keep watching. Anyway, I’ve turned off auto play in settings, so this problem won’t happen for me again. But I still I wouldn’t want any people starting out with this app to make the same mistake I did.

- New update

I have been a bit frustrated with the new update for the twitch mobile app. I have an iPhone 10, so the corners of my screen are rounded off and when I go to full screen the top and bottom of the video get cut off, along with things being blocked by where the camera is placed. This used to not be a problem because they left a blank space on each side of the screen so that it all fit in frame, but now especially while watching games like Minecraft where the bottom of the video is very important(the players inventory and the chat box) is impossible to see. This can be frustrating to watch and take away from my overall experience as a viewer. Another bug I have encountered is that often when I start to type in chat it will make the stream lag, causing the video and audio to get out of sync. Reloading/refreshing the page always fixes it, but leaves me waiting through an ad. This makes me less inclined to interact in chat, which is one of the best features of twitch. Besides these two bugs I absolutely love this app and the community that Twitch has created!

- An odd platform

A truly odd platform. With twitch most obviously dominating the live streaming market, and consumers or users having nowhere to go they must resort to twitch. However, is twitch really the best for streamers. Like most companies, there is always favoritism, but it seems to have shined in drastic measures. Where as twitch claims they treat everyone at the same by law and standard, but then the same action is enforced differently. This causes odd encounters like the ones with the infamous “Alinity”. She notably did some actions that were called out by millions and even companies but nothing happened. However this is the least of my concern. The true concern is that she had to ask for a ban, and that the moderation accepted this. When a user has such high power or the high powered of the system is cause discourse, and arguments arise. Twitch is a decent platform but they get shot down with their mediocre at best moderation team who has to be asked by the civilians of the city, or streamers, to have actions done, even when they know these actions have been done. Simply put, the admins and moderation have too much power in the scheme of things. And while power is needed, it’s being incorrectly used by the staff to punish some and not others. Thank you.

- Unstable

While it often works and is still a very valid, not at all half-baked alternative to the website, it has been fairly unstable for me since day one. I’m nowhere near a frequenter of Twitch, just occasionally watch the streams of people like Vinesauce and Vargskelethor, but it’s become harder to handle since the new iOS update that changed the layout of the menu you get when you double-click the home button. Whenever I decide to play the stream in the corner of my screen, it pauses, and sometimes simply disappears. Today has been one of the worst days I’ve used it, as I can only spend, say, a minute on the app before it freezes up and forces me out. This isn’t the first time this has happened, either. Maybe the solid third time, and I’m fully unable to access the streams for more than maybe 20 seconds before it quits out. I’ve tried resetting my iPad and redownloading the app, but to no avail. I’m certain it’s an issue with the servers at this point, and a very pesky one. Please fix this as soon as possible, so I can actually use your app. Thank you.

- Unstable as of late

I used to never have problems with twitch, it was one of the apps I used to always get on and just watch a stream for fun. After a while I left because had life things to handle. But recently I decided it was a good time to get back on twitch. Was I wrong, yes and no. While the audio is fine without video, I’ve had troubles watching a stream and have audio at the same time. While the video plays just fine, it’s the audio that don’t work well on the stream. While I’ve been thinking maybe it could be my end, but when it’s been constant, I just don’t see the point in watching anything. Another thing, you removed the option to switch from 720 to something like 480, how can you test something to make sure it’s not your end if you actually take away a feature that was fine to begin with. I get the times are changing and technology is getting more and more advanced, trust me, I was born in the age of technology’s very beginnings of taking over. Just fix the stability of the app please, is that so much to ask. And please just add back a 480p button just for the users who can’t watch in 720.

- Very solid but still loads of room for improvement

I have been viewing twitch more and more and honestly the best twitch experience on mobile is this app. But there are a few things that if implemented, would greatly enhance the app. There have been a few times where I wanted to link my twitch and prime accounts but there is no option to do so on this mobile app. It would be great to be able to support my favorite creators with out worrying about missing a chunk of their stream. Overall there are a variety of features lacking on the app that really make me feel like I’m missing out while being a primarily mobile user. The only benefit to getting twitch prime on mobile is the crown symbol next to my name in chat. Besides lack of subscription options there is virtually no customization available except my profile picture. I know it’s not easy giving the pc experience on an app but the iOS app should be equal in features to computer. If they do so I believe many of the user base would prefer viewing from mobile.

- I love this app but...

Let me get this out of the way: almost all the problems with twitch are erased on a computer. Whether on the site or on the app, on a computer everything works perfectly. However, on the phone it lacks a lot of what it needs. You can’t subscribe with twitch prime for some reason, and it’s much harder to navigate on mobile than on pc. The other problems are the sub tokens they added and buying bits. Why did they add sub tokens? They’re just kind of stupid, why would I buy sub tokens before instead of just subbing to who I want? The last problem is bits. The price of bits makes no sense. Ive been told before it’s about a cent per bit, but then why is it seven dollars for 500 bits? That’s way more than the tax should be, and my only explanation is that twitch gets a little bit too greedy between the viewers and the streamers and tacks on unfair prices, making it harder for viewers to support streamers. Other than that, incredible app, I love watching streamers and talking to the twitch community that you can surround yourself with, it’s really incredible

- Close to perfect

If your into finds my quality content creators especially gaming Twitch is the place to be. The only thing that’s always driven me crazy to the point I almost gave only 4 stars is all the QUALITY broadcasters that are buried in such a saturated market. You must sift through hundreds to find a few hidden gems. “Partner” streams or “Featured” channels have put in the grind and deserve it but some of these other upstarts have no prayer to cut through the noise. With that said the majority of people sitting through directories do not take the time to sift to the streams at the bottom with little to no views. I find that to be the Consoles (XBOX & PS4) fault for making it so ez for any toxic 12 year old with a console can connect and upload toxic trash. So considering at the end of the day it’s not all on Twitch? I went ahead with 5 stars for the app. good for tips, & tricks for any gamer and other IRL streams as Well.

- Great App..The worst Customer I’ve ever seen

Looking at the app from a developmental standpoint, the app is terrific. Outside of little things like not being able to change your profile picture, everything seems to run smoothly. However after having the app for a while I noticed that my email for some reason wasn’t linked to my profile. I tried to fix it from The Xbox app on the console but no luck. Then since I was already logged in on my phone,I tried it there, still no luck. I then logged out and that’s when I really started to get upset. My password and login info stopped working once I logged out then the reset emails weren’t sending and kept saying my account doesn’t exist. I thought I would email and it would be a 2 day fix...wrong! I’ve sent roughly 10 emails in almost 2 months and nothing from them at all. I received a bot reply saying I hope the problem fixed itself, when prompted to email back if it isn’t. They again just ignored my emails. The brand new game I wanted to stream is now 2 months old and I don’t even want to play it considering now no one wants to watch it. Twitch Customer Service officially ruined playing my games while streaming.

- Feedback

Needs improvement; Twitch could certainly use some new and fresh ideas in terms of viewers/viewing capabilities, native communication is basic at best yet struggles with latency throughout the app. When asked, the initial response given was from long time users of Twitch, which was great! others not so much mentioning several technical problems from namely the app in and of itself with a few other hiccups here and there as expected however Twitch in it’s entirety is a brilliant platform as well as a great way to showcase any and all of your talents if you will. Continually Twitch will keep providing us with UI glitches more often than not currently there is no way suggest anything aside from writing a long neutral review about said inability, currently there is no way (that I am aware of) to exit a video you’re streaming without closing the app one would think of this to taken care of already and maybe it is or their working on it, if not then the solution is right here, all of which could be provided at a small nominal fee 😉😏

- Previous version better

The previous version was better in that it would remember games I last viewed. Now, I have to scroll to find the game. Though I did hate that it always showed most recent and it was all or none when deleting them, but oh well on that. If it’s possible to creat a favorites games list I haven’t looked for it, but apparently it doesn’t stand out either, for me anyway. I hate the new continue watching feature. I understand some might like it, but the only reason I watch a rerun is because I can’t find anything live I’d like to watch. And the only way to remove the continue watching is to watch them, fast forward to the end, then go back or to watch the remaining part. Why can’t I just delete items while they’re in the continue watching area. Plus, I have something stuck in continue watching because I apparently need to subscribe to watch it, so I can’t go into it and watch it or fast forward to get rid of it. Either let me disable continue watching or give me the ability to delete from that area, not by having to go into the video.

- This must be out sourced to people who never used apps

I love how I can sync accounts like twitch to my discord. That’s how you get into sub only discord’s and this app makes it so easy! Oh wait no it doesn’t. You can log into your twitch but it won’t show you ANY DISCORD CHANNELS. ok fine. I’ll log in online. Sorry no login screen on the home page of discord while on mobile. Fine I’ll dig in even more and find the most hard to find link online to log in. Now I need to spend 30 minutes clicking buses on a “I’m not a bot” window more times than it takes to log into a major bank account or credit report monitor. Awesome, now I should be logged in right? Nope. An error saying you’re on the wrong type of discord. Why do I need to log into a computer to check or join “connections” discord’s. Has no one in the company ever been a human. It’s insane. Use the app. More than just once. Try things normal people want to do. Fix the website. Realize mobile browsers aren’t flip phones anymore and give actual full features on the site instead of less than the app even gives. If discord didn’t have a monopoly I’d wonder how the hell theyre still in business

- Needs polish

I love having twitch on my phone, but in its current state, mobile twitch is strictly worse than twitch on PC. There are lots of annoying bugs and quirks that all culminate in making it really annoying to use. For some reason, there is always a delay between the stream and chat that doesn’t appear on PC. In a recent update they made it so your phone itself has to be in dark mode to make twitch dark mode too, instead of just letting you toggle it from settings. This makes it really annoying when you want to switch from one app to another and keep turning dark mode on and off. Also, sometimes when I’m using twitch in light mode, it will magically toggle onto dark mode when I turn my phone sideways and then go back to light mode when I turn it right side up. Another major problem is that you can’t go to a streamers channel while they are live, so if you want to unfollow them or turn off notifications you are forced to watch an ad every time. If twitch mobile actually worked properly then I would give it a 5 star review.

- Possible bug

I search for correct spelling and defenitions using the text chat feature while participating in a stream. When selecting text a popup > look up > my internet browser appears. When then going back to the twitch app the stream is in a small window. I select to maximize the stream (trying to not fat finger) and it closes the window. Now, my text I was working on is gone and I have to open the stream again. I have found my text to still be in the same stream like cache or something, but not always. Copying my text has been one measure to prevent losing my comment and minimizing the app > opening a browser and searching for the word that way is a workaround. USING LOOK UP TO SEARCH FOR A WORD DEFINITION SEEMS TO CAUSE INSTABILITY WITH TWITCH APP AND CRASHES THE STREAM (not every time, but enough to be bothersome). Hopefully this is making sense - cheers :]

- What is going on at Twitch HQ?

I’ve used the twitch iOS app primarily on an iPad. Each successive update seems to make it worse and worse. I tend to minimize twitch into a window while I work with other apps. In the past, this wasn’t a problem, the stream would keep playing and required minimal attention from me. Today, September 2019, not so much. The windowed mode of twitch on an iPad frequently becomes unresponsive, such that I need to completely close out the app and restart it. If ads play in windowed mode, I lose the window and have to re-open the stream I had open. A year or so ago, this wasn’t a problem. I could leave a twitch window running all day on my iPad without it crapping out within 30 minutes. Now, I frequently have to re-launch the app when it ‘breaks’. Unsurprisingly, when it breaks, I get to watch ads again. Please go back to the drawing board on this app. Go back two years, find what made it work so well, and implement it now. Today’s iOS twitch app is just a pile of s*it compared to how good it used to be.

- Twitch prime running ads

I used to get so many hours of enjoyment out of this app as a twitch prime member. I could channel surf with ease and go back and forth between all of my favorite streamers. I loved the freedom of being able to watch any streamer I wanted for 30 second or 30 minutes. Now that they have introduced ads to twitch prime members, it makes this app almost unusable. To watch a 30 second ad almost every time I switch channels completely ruins the experience for me. I literally hesitate to open the app every time I want to watch one of my favorite streamers. I previously used this app for multiple hours a day and since the change I have only used it maybe 2-3 times. There needs to be an premium option to remove ads! Subscribing to individual channels doesn’t help. What I liked about twitch was the ability to watch more than a dozen streamers in a 30 minute watch session, freely surfing between channels. Please do something about this!! I want to use twitch again without ads! I would pay a similar price to what I pay for a Netflix or Sirius radio subscription to watch ad free.

- Missing Key Functionality

So, no issue with streaming performance, but either A) there is a LOT missing from the app, or B) it’s super un-intuitive and these things are impossible to find. Missing features include: - The ability to subscribe to a channel via mobile. - The ability to see existing subscriptions and when they expire. - The ability to change your profile picture. - The ability to easily get to a channel’s home page if they are live. (I am forced to go into the live video, often causing blaring audio even when my phone is silenced, and then have to poke around to find a way to get to the channel’s home screen and THEN I have to terminate the still playing video). - A means to set subscriptions to auto-renew. (Unable to find this on the web version either - maybe just a missing feature?). All in all, forcing me to log into the site severely inhibits the app’s on the fly functionality. I’d think these item would be a priority as the easier it is to manage things, the more likely people are to download/open the app. While not a huge amount of competition in this market, it just takes one competitor doing it better to start stealing people away. If these features are missing, I’d recommend adding them. If they are just hard to find, I’d recommend either re-thinking the layout or adding an overlay tutorial that walks through functionality for users. Something that launches initially for brand new users and can be launched at will for people needing a refresher.

- Great idea, horrific experience

I absolutely love live streams, and twitch in general. I’ve been on the twitch bandwagon for longer than most, but can’t help to notice these extremely common, frustrating bugs. I will play live streams or VODs, and the audio will just go out. I used to be able to close out stream, change video quality, or close out app to fix it, but that is no longer the case. The only fix I have been able to find as of late is to completely uninstall and reinstall the app. I am now doing this 10+ times per day, and that’s unacceptable. If this issue isn’t solved by the end of this week, I’m just going to go watch someone else re upload one of your creator’s livestreams. Which mean that’s neither you, or the streamer you pretend to help will be making any money off of me, and I will cancel my multiple subscriptions.

- I am an avid twitch user but this app is very frustrating

I on average watch Twitch streamers for 2-3 hours a day and it is my main form of entertainment. So it saddens me that the iOS app is riddled with so many issues. First off there is an insane amount of delay (15-30sec) which makes it very difficult to be involved in chat. While on my other devices the delay is essentially unnoticeable or very minimal (5-10sec) when I’m on mobile chat becomes separate and I no longer get the full twitch experience where I can be immersed in a community of other viewers. Having the app play in the background is riddled with issues and is extremely finicky. I can barely get it to play at times when I’d just like to listen in the background. Then when I go back to the app it pauses for a while consistently and then suddenly starts after waiting. Many times when I click on a stream it will be frozen without the option to press the play button. The only way to fix this is to reload the stream and sometimes it requires completely relaunching the app. I love twitch and the app isn’t unusable by any means but it could really use improvements. What is really disappointing is that the iOS app has been around for so long yet we still deal with these bugs. Considering a large number of viewers are on mobile it is time some work was put in to polish the app and improve the experience of mobile users.

- Not too shabby! Updated

I like the app and they've made some good improvements. The only improvement i can think of would be to allow for viewing when someone first starts streaming or has lower viewership...allowing mobile users to view would help increase the viewership. Edit added 8/2/14: there is an annoying bug that makes the streams freeze for a bit. It's not the internet because i've tested it multiple places. Annoying, but other than these two things the app is fantastic. UPDATE: Still a very good app. However, I’ve noticed that there are significantly more ads these days. An uninstallable number of ads. I’m sure if I pay/subscribe or use an adblocker I won’t have to worry about it, but it shouldn’t need to be that way. 6 ads is really way too many. That’s unreasonable. I came to the internet to get away from ads. Find a different way guys. Innovate!

- Idk if it’s my fault or not

So I think the app is great but it’s not letting me watch my favorite streamer it lets me watch everyone else but it’s only this person and it doesn’t matter if I have full WiFi or if I’m using data it won’t let me watch my streamer but others it’s completely fine I honestly don’t know it might be that my phone is old and is being annoying or if it’s the app but here’s the thing up until a they finally came back to America from a trip I was completely fine I could watch them from my cousin’s house where I don’t have WiFi and I’d be completely fine and they didn’t like block me or something because I made another account and it still doesn’t let me watch them so whether it’s my fault or not I give the app 5 stars

- Please do something about “Continue Watching”

Please do something about the “Continue Watching” section of the “Following” home page in the app. I rarely ever want to watch anyone’s past streams and having a section like this is annoying. For example, because I watched some fool play for a few minutes last week, I’m now forced to see that stream at nearly the top of my feed and there’s no way to get rid of it. Or the section will be cluttered with a favorite streamer’s last stream that I closed out of pretty near the end of the stream, but for some reason the app thinks I might want to keep watching, so now I keep mistaking it as some new live stream when I launch the app. Basically, this “Continue Watching” section is misguided use of space in an application that’s all about live streaming. Hopefully, I’m not the only one raising this issue and something can be done about allowing the user to opt-out of having this section show up in the app.

- Really bad experience

I was a partner, some guys put bots on my channel, exactly 15k bots that followed my channel, I report them, and I reported the toxic streamers that did it, but the staff is corrupted what they did was send my report to those channels, and type the report on their chat. I reported the staff and the channels again by the partner email and it was the same all corrupted the staff only listen to their friends and others streamers... really sad they just destroyed my career and everything and twitch did nothing they didn’t fired them they still working there but I can do nothing. 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼 i removed all the accounts with the ignored feature but it doesn’t matter the staff is corrupted whenever I send an email the same staff or her/his friends just delete the email and just like that. I’m no rich but if I had money sure I’ll be suiting Twitch and the corrupted staff that violated my rights and the twitch ToS. I guess it is what it is I just have to start over on another platform after all my years of work. I hope the Spanish staff from Mexico get fired.

- Customer Support

I recently had to delete my account because it was hacked repeatedly and the issue wasn't addressed quickly enough for any of my information to feel safe (i followed all preventative measures and my account was still accessed even without my two-step verification). Unfortunately, upon going to create a new account, i discovered i was trapped in my old account on the app, unable to do or watch anything, but also unable to sign out. I deleted and redownloaded the app several times to no avail. I'd love to continue using the app with a new account but it seems that i have to have an account to speak with customer support. This is both a cautionary review and last ditch effort to reach out and hopefully receive some assistance with this issue. The app is completely unusable to me at the moment which is a huge disappointment as i'm missing out on a lot of my favorite content creator's streams.

- Delay

I like the app it’s very similar to the pc version. But a big problem I have is that there is so much of a delay. I was watching this Nhl streamer named Tougie24 and he was doing a draft. He wanted the viewers to pick. In the nhl game there is a 3 minuet time limit and I did not get to make my pick (the time ran out) because of the delay I would tell him to do something then it would take at least 30 seconds for me to see or for it to appear and in his chat. Another example Is when watching a stream and something cool happens it will be spoiled or revealed before you see it ruining the moment. Wether the rest of the chat is emoting or talking about it. I will always be the last person to see. This also makes having a conversation with the streamer difficult because he is waiting for 30 second to a minute to see a response because you see what he said so much later than it was actually said

- Great App, Great Problems...

I’m on Twitch, on a phone. Twitch is great, there is nothing wrong with their app, only that something NEEDS to be added. For some stupid reason, you can’t turn on “Past Broadcasting” or something around that name, which basically means that you have the ability to make it available for your viewers to watch past live streams that they weren’t able to see live. Apparently this is only available on the Twitch website, so I had to turn on “Past Broadcasting bla bla bla” on the website. The only thing is, is that IT DIDN’T WORK. I turned it on, went to Twitch, and my live stream still wasn’t there. Ironically, the website has more features than the app does, but on a phone, both the app and website are garbage. Nonetheless, I will continue to stream on Twitch because I’ve seen what it can do on an iPad instead of a phone, and I love the app, just really mad about not being able to do slot of things.

- The issue isn’t the app it’s Twitch’s new direction

With the browser version of Twitch we can use extensions to remove things we hate due to the lack of a consistent blacklist on content we will Never Ever Watch. (Don’t drop twitch yet. Watch on chrome with a few extensions) Twitch, if I told you real talk and music channels are on my Top 3 hated list then please don’t showcase them even if you got paid to. I am not your market. You are wasting that ad-buy. Put in a real category based Blacklist so you can affiliate and ad-buy like a real deal company and do targeted marketing. All that is happening now is enraging your loyal consumer base to uninstall. Please use some of that recent investment money to get a real marketing team and learn to allow customers to curate their experience on mobile and desktop. Just because you have a paid for music festival does not mean every single Twitch user should see that first when they sign on. It’s a waste of eyeball time, creates user animosity, and has people turning Twitch off. Look at Steam that put in 10 category tags you don’t want to see in your home page for games being sold. Mimic that but do not limit it to ten IMHO. Do not make it exclusive to lower bar content but include the featured section. Cow towing to additional advertising and force feeding sponsored content is going to have creators looking for the next twitch alternative.

- This app runs terrible

This app won’t load videos if I’m using 480p or higher I don’t know why I saw it was at 360 for default don’t know why thought this was 2020 so I put it to 1080 wouldn’t load I was like ok I guess 720p is fine then doesn’t work so I’m like Jesus Christ 480p what is this 1995 but oh well better the 360 doesn’t work I exit the app every time in between changing the graphics just in case also so after 480 doesn’t work I exit it again cause I’m like oh well get back on it loads at 180p by itself I didn’t change it to 180p it’s not my phone I have a pretty new undamaged iphone 10 with at&t I tested my speed I’m at 150mb for upload more then fast enough for it to load it’s 2am and I live about a mile from a cell tower with full bars it’s not me this app runs so bad so if you like watching streamers on terrible quality this is the app for you Well I wrote that a while ago quit watching streams for a while now I’m back it’s on 720p and the streams won’t load this App is a joke

- Still a great streaming service, but the app/login is annoying

I love Twitch and I’ve been using it for years, but recently have stopped using it entirely because the app doesn’t want to play nice. The required login is really annoying, especially because the chats are always toxic anyway and I really don’t care to participate. I honestly just want to watch the streams. Since my account was stolen by people overseas twice, the password requirements have become completely obnoxious and I feel like I need a password manager to keep one that complex straight. However, I don’t have the ability to even do that. When I try to reset my password on my phone, the link in the email immediately redirects to the app sign in and not to the password reset screen (there’s also no option to just continue in Safari). Thus I’m stuck in an infinite loop of having the “wrong“ credentials unless I actually use a computer to right it.

- Good... mostly

I do have one major gripe with Twitch for iOS. I typically watch Twitch on my TV using a game console, but I open the same stream on my iPhone because it's easier to type in chat with the phone's touch keyboard. Which works well as long as Twitch is running on the iPhone... except it doesn't. Whenever you pause your stream and then switch away from the app and then do something else on the phone, it's very likely that when you switch back to Twitch, the app will restart completely. This is really annoying because not only do you have to search for or dig for the stream again but often the app then makes you watch the 15-30 second pre-stream ad again. I don't know whether this is Twitch's fault or Apple's: I've observed it for at least a year while keeping up with the latest iOS software. Either way, please fix it!

- Lack of Customizable Access

The Twitch website gives you a lot of access towards your customization and profile editing. You can change your chat color, change your name and or capitalization, change your profile pic, etc. This app, however, doesn’t give you access to most of the offers the website has. It would be nice to be able to do certain things on the app instead of always having to rely on the website such as customizing your profile and being able to subscribe to channels by viewing them instead of having to use chat commands. Sometimes I want to support a streamer but I can’t because they do not have a set chat command. Overall, I’d appreciate it if the app would have more accessibility just like the website instead of it feeling like it’s taking away your access and ability.

- Many missing features and bugs

Using this app for years now and there’s been very little improvement over those years. The app allows you to do basic functions such as watch a stream, or tip bits. However if you want to do other things such as tip and subscribe you won’t be able to do that in the app. You will have to go to a PC or request desktop mode from the safari browser. When you request desktop mode it tends to cause problems for your fighting with the app opening and then trying to get the desktop mode painful process. Missing subscribe function is the biggest issue I’d say. Could this be true to be missing for so many years it’s just incredible to me. It’s a basic function on twitch it’s been around for a long time and that’s how you can show support for your favorite stream, same with tipping that should be in there too for some reason it’s not.

- Broken

I don’t know how this app has such high reviews. I’m just trying to use the app to watch past streams of some people I enjoy. Every time I pause the video and turn off my phone screen or switch to a different app it starts the video from the beginning, assuming it even brings up the video at all when I open the app again. When dealing with 3+ hour content, remembering your place is vital. I also can’t find a way to quit a video I started, just make it small and click on something else. (If there is a method, I haven’t found it with all my prodding and swiping). When I pause the video full screen, an overlay pops up that hides half the screen and makes it really easy to misclick something (For the 20th time, no I’m not trying to unfollow the person I’m watching, thanks), and also makes it hard to see the thing that I paused to look at. It’s ok (and actually better) to have some information and options outside of full screen mode.

- Freakin amazing but...

This is by far the best streaming service on the face of the earth. But there are some things that the pc version has that the mobile version doesnt. No 1. The ability to change your channel name. So i noticed after about a day prior to downloading this that you are unable to change your channel name. Now that isnt a problem for me but it may be for other people, as other users may not be able to access a pc or laptop. No 2. The ability to customize about me pages and channel banners: it’s basically the same reason. So twitch i really hope you see this and possibly make some changes but aside from that, twitch i a great streaming service and it will be for many years to come.

- Saves more lives then you know.

I was on heroin really bad. What helped me when I finally was able to get the guts to go through withdrawals, I watched Twitch. Twitch was there for me to talk to chat. Twitch was there for me to see positive content. Twitch has a much bigger impact in my drug recovery then I could ever get someone to understand. I love Twitch and I am so thankful it’s here, for free, for me to enjoy. I think it could have positive effect on people trying to get off drugs. I just don’t have a way to stream or I would make an account simply for just chatting. I would have my account be all about recovery off drugs. There is such a big need for someone to live stream to those affected by the drug epidemic. Thank you. Sincerely, Zachary Tumulty

- Love the app, but there are a few bugs

I’ve actually been really enjoying using twitch so far, but because I’m generally short on time I tend to not be able to watch entire streams. Good news is twitch records past broadcasts, but I’ve noticed that while watching past broadcasts there are some pretty frustrating bugs. For example, sometimes when watching a past broadcast and an ad pops up, after the ad break the broadcast will send you back to the beginning and you have to scrub through the video to find your place again, which can be annoying especially when watching longer streams. Also, the scrubbing is a bit buggy to, sometimes the bar acts like you pressed your finger in a different place. I really do enjoy using twitch, so I hope this bugs can be fixed.

- I don’t have to find be a sub to find good gameplay.

I just stay for the comments. But I’d like to comment in on the good plays. Fuel the excitement and push for more people to test their limits. Browse filters. Alittle more console support as far as the Kinect and overlays, widgets control panel. Nothing’s perfect, just surprised a lot of what I expected hhasnt happened yet. This generations alittle behind, still hating and hurting. Won’t make your pain stop. If you want that, you have to get over yourself. We’re all humans. The Human race. Not racial, regional. If each person had one million, no one would struggle. Below one million, work, or invest correctly. Oh wait that’s right. the wrong three power system. Last one had it right but still fought amongst each other. Pitty. Hopefully we can prepare before the next round.

- it’s not the greatest but it’s great for streamers

1 with channel points if you have the stream on a console you don’t not gain channel points which i found absolutely dumb because i’ve been watching a stream for around 4-5 hours and don’t get channel points which is supposed to be something that is rewarded. the app is not very user friendly for new streamers i don’t not feel you have to normally look stuff up or get help from other streamers on the topic. I also feel that some of the ban options are unnecessary and useless because if two friends are having friendly banter with each other which is extremely common they could get banned because they a said something that is innocent but certain people that the word wasn’t directed towards find it offensive so like get banned for it. i love the app but some things are unnecessary

- Great platform/app But Lack of Bug Fixes

I love twitch. A lot of a my favorite content creators are on here. But here’s the thing: Twitch is not properly working. Ever since they have allowed Live copyright claims, I cannot watch past streams that are have copyrighted music in them through certain devices. For example, twitch is not a featured app Samsung Smart TVs so when I AirPlay a past stream from my iPhone and it gives me the “Some portions of this stream have been muted due to copyright” warning. The advertisement will play but the stream won’t. I have reported the issue various times. No fix. I know twitch doesn’t have does best staff but, they could at least look into things like this for the love of people who can’t always catch a stream. 3 stars; cool and all but it little things like this that ruin it for working people, students, etc.

- Devs that listen to feedback

A couple months ago, the twitch app had a major redesign and overhaul. As is so often the case, the Internet reacted violently to change, but in this specific case I would say it was warranted. New Apple is clunky and removed Features from the twitch app that we knew and Loved. Even the smallest, most accidental swipe left and right would change the channel, and it was infuriating. Over the next couple months however, the Twitch dev team started listening to Feedback, and implementing changes that the masses were crying for. And I can finally say with confidence that this is the best way to watch Internet video of any sort. Thank you Devs for listening to Feedback implementing changes, it is greatly appreciated

- Great but I guess screw the IOS Users

-Dear Twitch devs I have not been able to have the audio in my game clips for a long time. I then come up with the bright idea of using twitch and screen recording on a separate device, which worked. I got really excited. But thats where the problems started. I did two separate 1 hr 17 min streams and each were screen recorded off of my IPad Air. The first stream only recorded 1 minute of audio and the second one only recorded 3 minutes of. Please, please fix this. I love this app and this seems to be my only work around for getting the in-game audio since I dont have a proper capture card or PC. I want to stream things like this in the future so I wont need to spend so much money on a computer and a capture card. - Sincerely, ALaggyShisno

- Terrible Ui, and updates make the app worse

navigating through the different broadcasts will give you a migraine, random channels you arent interested in with no viewers will be dropped in the top of your feed for no reason constantly. you cannot delete messages, and notifications will remain for years after youve “hidden” the messages theyre attatched to. on top of this the newer updates have fixed nothing but added the most annoying feature imagineable: autoplay on whatever is in the center of the screen, (meaning when you browse the app while watching a stream, there will ALWAYS be a second stream randomly autoplaying and overlapping your audio.) the app is lazily put together and the new features they add actively make the experience worse, with no settings menu to turn these annoying things off. whoever is in charge of design should seriously consider stepping down and letting someone who has the first idea of what theyre doing step in.

- Great, just a few suggestions.

Twitch is cool. Found out about it a few months ago and get to connect and watch people that I love. I just have a few suggestions. Dates and times for each stream and whisper. I don’t like going back to my favorite streamer and it saying “a month ago” or “two months ago” because then I don’t know what stream it is. The same for whispers. It doesn’t give you a date or time the message was sent so if someone asks when you sent the whisper it seems unprofessional to not know because it doesn’t tell you. The app I’ve noticed glitches a bit and when you go to watch previous streams it takes forever. Overall twitch is great and I like it a lot, I just think these suggestions would improve the layout and help people.

- Great service, shame about the recent added Nudity

I love Twitch. I’ve used it for years and have been a member of twitch prime for a significant amount of time. Twitch has been a great way to preview games before I consider purchasing them as well as staying involved in the video game community. This all changed for me when Twitch started allowing the steaming of games that include full frontal nudity (Cyberpunk 2077 to be specific). You may have your own opinions about censorship, but for me this crosses a line where I can no longer endorse this app for users that are kid’s or have kids. The app did a great job screen this until now. To specify address Cyberpunk 2077, I think it’s a great game, it has a “streaming mode” that is suppose to screen out nudity to make it streaming appropriate, but it doesn’t work. I hope Twitch is able to decide to stick to they’re previous model of censorship instead of turning a blind eye when a popular game comes on the market in the future.

The app is overall great, but they need to add the option to DELETE messages in the chat room. Instead of always timing people out or just straight banning. I mod for a channel and sometimes I want to delete their message as a warning, but I only have the option to time them out or ban them, and sometimes that isn’t necessary. So please, people at twitch take this into consideration as some people do moderate channels from the their phone sometimes. I happen to be on twitch exclusively through mobile at the moment and maybe their are other people to might agree? Other than that I have no real complaints. The interface is nice. But I would really love to see that small feature included when you press on someone’s name. Thank you.

- Not Recommended, 1/10

This platform fell through my expectations. Sometimes the platform fails to load videos and it’s extremely glitchy, I do not trust that want I watch is in real time with the streamer. I once wished to subscribe to a streamer I’m interested in but I had to pay through my parents, we attempted to purchase a sub token but failed due to apple not accepting twitch ,then when we switched payment method a glitch in system kept informing me “A request to buy sub token will be sent to your parents for approval” no notifications on my parent’s end what so ever, This is nonsense, This is 2020 not 2014, I expect such problem to not occur at all when relying on a platform this famous. ABSOLUTELY NOT RECOMMEND if you wanted a platform with proper functionality and good quality

- Garbage

Just awful, loses all stars due to not having BTTV I could go on. So I will! When someone posts a twitch clip in chat it doesn’t show the thumbnail or the name of the clip, just the stupid pre-made url for the clip. Boring, garbage, stupid. I could go on even more SO I WILL!!!! The delay, even with “low latency” turned on is still worse than a stream on PC WITHOUT low latency, even worse once low latency is on for the pc stream. I could go on, but my wrists are hurting now. Just watch on pc there is also a group of people, or maybe just one person, that is creating multiple and I mean hundreds of accounts to harass multiple multiple multiple multiple multiple streams and twitch can’t do anything about it. Now this is probably just result of how garbage the Internet is, where things like a VPNs exist where you can invade suspensions and bans,But the fact twitch can’t do anything about it is embarrassing. You should feel bad if you work for twitch

- Straight Garbage

It literally has one purpose and it is terrible at it. Will play an AD in glorious 1080p instantly, then will wait up to multiple minutes on some occasions to actually load your stream. Not to mention that every time I start the app and want to browse the csgo section (the only reason I ever go on this awful platform) I now how have to manually change the filter to sort by viewership numbers to find the csgo hub. I have to do this because the default is for it to show you “your” recommended games. Which is entirely false because the only thing I ever use this garbage for is watching pro cs matches AND FOR SOME REASON CSGO DOESNT MAKE IT INTO MY RECOMMENDED GAMES. Thanks twitch, definitely want to watch fortnight like a 9yo. Good job on recommending me that. I watch on any other platform when it’s available. It’s a shame I can’t avoid this platform because it would cost me being able to watch most of the pro matches.

- Everything you should know!

Twitch is great! Not only is it a wonderful way for gamers to create careers out of what they love most, (gaming), you can meet people with the same interests as you through the chat or maybe you’ll open up to the streams where you feel most comfortable. Many people have actually come out during another’s stream because that’s how warm and welcomed they feel when chilling out on twitch! The people are great and sure you might come across some bad people here and there but those people are everywhere, it’s not like we can just press delete and we won’t have to here from them again! Just get twitch! It’s fun and calming and a great way to meet new people. Go and give it a try!

- The Disappointing Disappearing Act

So when are you going to address that fact that people we follow sometimes don’t appear under the channels tab? They are not online, not hosting anyone and they are not offline, they are just gone. This isn’t recent, it’s been going on for a long time. If I wanna catch up on a stream I missed I sometimes have to go searching deep for the streamer. If you can’t remember the streamers name then your just gonna have to wait for them to reappear in the channel tab. I’ve had to resort to taking screenshots of streams I follow just so I can look them up again incase they go missing l. I don’t understand why there is no page that just lists all the people you follow/subscribe to. I don’t need to know if their online, hosting or haven’t steamed in 2 months. I just want an accurate list where the people I follow are ALWAYS there. And where you can better manage the notifications for people you follow without having to unfollow and follow them to change the notification.

- Could be better.

The twitch app is good for watching your favourite twitch stream. Video quality is great, easy to use menus and the like. But it could be a lot better too. First videos are about 5 seconds behind from the web browser versions so if you have the chat open you will see people reacting to something you have not seen yet. The mini screen is great when you exit the app (great if you want to check an email and don’t want to miss anything) but why does it have to pause the feed when you maximise the screen.. so infuriating. Plus it might be just me, but I can’t find the option to use my monthly Prime membership sub. I have to go to the browser to use it. It’s a good app, but with these little annoyances. You might as well just access the Twitch website through the safari browser if you want to take part in the chat. Use the app if you are just gonna watch the video feeds.

- Video quality issues

This review does NOT mean you shouldn’t get twitch. Occasionally when I’m watching a stream my quality option only shows auto and the highest quality there is which isn’t a problem if you can run that but if you don’t have the best internet nothing will load. I haven’t found a solution to this except for disconnecting my wifi and even than that doesn’t always work. Please fix this.

- Rewatching twitch stream glitches

I absolutely love twitch and i think its an amazing app but oh my goodness. Say if you miss a stream and you go back to watch it on the twitch videos, well if you turn off your device or you get an ad, and you go back to the video, the video restarts. It’s also quite irritating because for some reason my slider on the bottom of the screen isn’t working and its really annoying because i have to spam the +30 seconds button just to get back where i left off. So to summarise what i basically said, If you are watching the stream videos, it restarts the whole video when you turn off your device or get an ad and if you try to use the slider tool it wont work for going backwards. This is the only reason why twitch lost both 2 stars for me.

The Twitch App is Very Well Made But, People Such As Me that stream, Use the app too look at chat, Design There Channel, Etc I found changing your profile picture and channel art not possible on the app. I also found that there was not as much customisation as the desktop version. I think twitch should give more mobile streamers a opportunity to better design and do things with there channel. This App is very Good but needs work I hope, I can see some improvement with customisation and also more options to use the app over desktop mode. Thank You Heaps.

I read the reviews when I was downloading twitch and that where all saying how you could do this and that. But my experience has been grate all up, you can do everything on the mobile app that you can do on the desktop app. BUT There where no reviews about purchasing bits using an iTunes gift card. Because when I tried to buy bits using an iTunes gift card, they just took the money out of my iTunes account and have never given me my bits which I have legitimately paid for?! That is my only criticism, so if you are trying to purchase bits buy them with a credit/debit card.

- Abysmal Streaming Options

Common Twitch! You guys are the leaders in online streaming, how could your own app lack so much in streaming abilities for mobile streamers? It forces anyone who is serious about streaming to look for alternative OBS’s. Zero ability for quality selection - aspect ration, bit rate, frame rate etc. Instead it’s just 432p for everyone...That’s just sad. No editor for widgets etc. so you’re forced to do all adjustments on your computer and then have no idea how it’ll look until you go live on your mobile. Also I use a microphone that attaches directly into my phone, so no chance of a delay. Doesn’t delay on any other OBS, video software, ANYTHING besides, of course, Twitch’s app... Please overhaul the app ASAP!

- No longer bored

I like twitch because I can watch them live and see what they actually do when they play and they don’t cut their face cam thank you so much for adding the game frame because some people could have bad internet and they can change the screen settings so they can see better thank you twitch for letting me do and hope you have a time in the future

- Airplay to Apple TV

Airplay to Apple TV is absolutely terrible. Every time you try to stream to Apple TV the app freezes and attempts to play another random clip. Then it needs to be completely restarted and try again. When it eventually starts the stream, it will randomly crash every 15 or so minutes, meaning another restart of the app is needed, and we’re back to square one. Add in the stream randomly restarting again instead of at the time you were last watching it, and it all adds up to an incredibly frustrating experience. We have tried this on multiple devices and multiple Apple TVs and it is still the same result. It’s been like this for at least a year. PLEASE FIX IT.

- Recently watched streams

Twitch is great for watching, and sometimes rewatching streams. But what’s annoying is that, say, if you swipe off a stream, you have to search up the channel and find it again instead of being able to quickly go too it through a “recently watched streams” feature. This feature is in the website I believe, but I’m not sure if it’s on the app. The app is still great and that’s just a minor inconvenience which is pretty uncommon. EDIT: this is a feature, I was just being dumb :/

- It’s a good app but still has bugs

The latest update has introduced a bug where the text turns black making it impossible to see what I’m typing in dark mode. Since this update searching for streams doesn’t show if the stream is actually live or just a re-run. Also the app is still delayed by up to 30 seconds compared to a pc browser making it infuriating to interact with the streamer. The Mixer app doesn’t suffer this it’s instantaneous.

- Read

Twitch is a great app and everything about it is generally good, par the bias towards Alinity, though on IOS subbing costs $10 for a “Sub Token” compared to desktop’s $5. This has resorted to some streamers making a command that links you to the desktop sub page just so their viewers don’t have to spend as much money. Some things don’t make sense, but everything else is generally great.

- Miss the older version

I’ve had an old version of the app for years until it finally stopped working yesterday. I was hoping updating would at least mean I’d now have the option to change the playback speed but nope. But now I do have to scroll past a bunch of recommended channels to get to the ones I actually follow, I don’t seem to be able to comment on old steams anymore, there are more ads than before, the font is ugly, and the dark mode is darker and the contrast is hurting my eyes now. I’ll get used to all of that but it’s just another instance of an app updating and changing things that didn’t need to be changed and making it slightly worse than it was. I do like that I can subscribe via mobile now though.

- Issues

The app is a good starting point but I think we should be able to see the people that follow us. Also the notifications symbol will say I have notifications but when I click it it’s empty. Also can’t wait for affiliates to start making revenue off of ads. Even if it’s a very small amount, every bit adds up 👍🏻

- Why is this app +17?

I just don’t get why this app is +17 because yeah there is a bit of swearing but who cares like 5 year old kids won’t be watching this stuff. Apart from that this app is awesome, you just look up a game and then you find a person and you watch it is just so good. I would definitely recommend this to everyone over the age of 12.

- Chromecast Problems

This app is great but I am having a problem with live streams and my chromecast. When I try to watch a live stream the audio is horrible. Everything is good for the first 10 to 15 seconds but then the audio begins to cut in and out continuously. This is both for the mobile app or casting from my laptop. I don’t however have this problem when watching video, only live streams. Please fix.

- Decent app overall

This app is well done relative to the standard twitch has set for their mobile apps, however I am personally experiencing a bug that crashes the picture-in-picture mode on live-streams whenever I receive a live notification from another channel. This is super inconvenient as I have to restart the app every time to get it to work again. If this were fixed I would have no issue with this great product! Thanks.

- Missing heaps of Emotes

The mobile app is missing emotes such as Poggers, OmegaLul and Monkas. Also it’s hard to find other emotes when there’s no way they’re organised. All I see in the chat for the above emotes are there names, and they’re the most popular, it really takes you out of the experience and I can’t express myself along with others. Please fix this. Thanks.

- Amazing!

This app is amazing. The positive vibe that the streamers share is very impressive. They put some much hard work and effort into creating successful streams for their viewers/community. Aside from all of the positive outcomes there are a few negative parts involved in this app. Sometime the audio does not work and their videos as well as the audio isn’t synced. Apart from the slight problems, this is a very useful app that can be viewed by many people.

- Review

I am loving twitch joining a couple months ago. Enjoying watching Fortnite streams, valorant and much more! The one downside is the ads are so annoying. When watching a stream I get about 3-4 advertisement videos in a row! It’s very annoying please cut them down. Many people don’t enjoy watching ads. It’s not very enjoyable but other then that it’s great. - Anthony 👍

- The delay will be the death of me

When watching on handheld devices, the twitch app has a 15 second delay to streams compared to the desktop version. This limits viewers to interact with their favourite streamer more often which may also decrease the amount of viewers to a stream. If the app was the have the same 3 second delay as the desktop version, it’ll allow for clearer communication between parties anywhere due to how mobile these handheld devices are, thus increasing watch times for streamers. Please fix this issue.

- Bring Live streaming to Ipad’s also

Live streaming seems to be available in phones, but not on Ipads. It would expand the streamers base for ppl who want to stream their Ipad gameplays. Also, another thing that could be added is bringing a tutorial on how to use twitch to stream and upload videos. I am struggling with this as this is my first time using Twitch and so I do not know how to upload my videos.

- Verified only chat bug

There’s a bug in the current version that makes all channels say they are in verified only chat mode. They haven’t enabled that mode and my account is email verified. It mostly happens if I open from a push notification, workaround is closing and opening the app manually.

- Great app, but needs a couple of tweaks

Firstly, the app is awesome. Very well made and great UI. But I find it really annoying how you can’t subscribe to anyone through the app. You have to go through the main website. Also, when in full screen mode, the current time isn’t visible. As in the time of day on my iPad. Such a minor thing that really stands out when you wanna know the time.

- How to block a certain Ad?

It’s a satanic Ad for audible, I don’t care if it goes for 30 seconds makes me want to click off the stream 😏 It’s like a guy from Australia travelling to different cults around the world. Great app otherwise and love supporting streamers by watching ads, but I don’t want to download an ad blocker and don’t always have money to support the big streamers like DrLupo

- I just had to watch 8 advertisements before the stream would load. Well done, Twitch.

Why don’t you guys reinstate the time and battery meter on iPad full screen mode? Advertising plays every 5 minutes, it’s louder and brighter than the stream which is quite annoying. Most people come to twitch as an alternative to commercial television and the incessant advertising that goes with it. Twitch is slowly descending to the lows of commercial television. Watch stream = advertisement. Check out new streamer = advertisement. Change quality = advertisement. Restart Twitch because of lag = advertisement. Watch a past broadcast = advertisement every 5 minutes. Watch a live stream for 5 minutes = 4x advertisements. I understand the commercial aspect of ads, but there has to be a limit. Also, Streams blackout regularly. Streams freeze regularly. Ads play regularly. No volume slider.

- Please fix.

When I start up the app it freezes on the logo and then crashes multiple times until I have to restart my phone and open he app again and if it doesn’t work I have to keep doing that over and over

- Dix the delay when watching a stream!

The delay is sooo bad, it’s annoying to be 10-15 seconds behind a stream when you want to see and reply on time. The streamer’s already moved onto another topic by the time those using mobile hears it and can respond! Please fix this! I don’t want to always be using desktop/laptop, especially when I’m in bed.

- Love Twitch, but some things desperately need fixing

Twitch is great. But these 2 things drive me absolutely insane. 1. 'Swipe to change streams' feature NEEDS to be optional. It is FAR too sensitive to even the slightest touch, incredibly annoying when you then have to go back to the stream you were watching and are hit with another 30 second preroll ad. Results in missing up to 50 seconds of stream time. 2. This app is incredibly intrusive and plays in the background after you've exited. I will exit Twitch and not even be using my phone, then 5 minutes later the audio from the last stream I was watching will just start playing until I go back and close Twitch again. PLEASE FIX these issues.

- Love the Idea

I love twitch and what it promotes. Being able to interact with broadcasters and the community is incredible. Also having an easy way to support the content provided by channels. However the app and website aren’t the most functional with it quite often being quite annoying to try to get to where I want to. 4 stars

- Great Service

It’s a really good app that you can use to watch live or previous streams, the main 2 faults are setting up your own live stream (which is only in beta) and the slight lag between streams and chat, which is probably just my internet. There’s a reason why everyone knows about it, and I highly recommend using it

- Good app but needs more

I personally love Twitch and am constantly using this app, absolutely love it. Unfortunately however I have Twitch Prime and I cannot use it to sub nor can I sub on this app all together, considering I have no PC or anything like that, my Twitch Prime is somewhat useless. The app by all means is good, just which it had all the features that a desktop had.

- Very good!

I prefer it on pc but it still works good. The only downside I can think of is that you can’t follow streamers with going to their stream which can be annoying because when you go back and have to watch an add. 9/10!

- With the latest update and the new interface of chat....

The new interface seems more clunky than the previous version. In my opinion it is worse and annoying

- Noice

The swiping gestures are great, can you please bring back the swipe left / off screen to stop the video, instead of it just sliding off screen but still going? It gets frustrating quick when I try to tap to close but it fullscreens. Other than that this app is very user friendly

- Uhh why

I'm gonna start off by explaining why you shouldn't waste your time on this I'm not gonna make this to long either for your sake 1. They don't listen to their community and end up doing something stupid especially with the alinty thing if you're not going to do anything about it it's only gonna get worst so, please use your brain and fix this trash community 2. You can literally get banned for anything I’ll let you research what you can get banned for

- Good, but annoyingly buggy

Recently I’ve found that the app crashes moments after opening. Every time it’s opened, The only way I’ve found to work around this is to uninstall and reinstall every time I want to use it, it seems to run fine the very first time I run it but after that it crashes within seconds of opening every time I open it

- Flipped screen?

Hi there. Recently I started using my iPad to stream games on Twitch and it works really well, except every stream I do, the screen is flipped 90 degrees to the right. How? What? Why? I just want to stream without making my viewers see the screen sideways, as seing the screen this way takes the viewer out of the moment. Apart from this H U G E issue, the app is good.

- Helping me grow channel

I love to use twitch. I use it as not only a way to escape stress and talk to fans online. But also to grow my channel! Twitch is a great to use and easy streaming service with 24/7 updates and bug fixes! I love using it and I will keep using it.

- Twitch is pretty good

I’m enjoying Twitch so far, I get watch people who are funny and awesome play the games I enjoy and want to get better at. they give helpful tips here and there which is always nice. Next pay day I’ll be subbing to people for sure.

- Re-watching ads

Say you open a stream, watch a 30s ad, and then the stream starts. But if you accidentally close the stream, you have to reopen the stream and watch another 30s ad. I really hope this is fixed in future updates, otherwise, still a great app

- Bits

I think that watching a stream for say 1 hour will give you one bit. However, people could just leave it on overnight, so you could have it so you have to be active in the chat. Idk just my thoughts. Would recommend

- Impressed

The developers have been rolling out a few recent updates and i gotta say thanks for acting on my feedback. the app is working fine for me after some trouble using it over Wifi and Chromecast.

- Love it

Love twitch so much only thing for mobile I would love is if someone @ you it highlights it like it does ok pc and also there is an audio and a chat only mode but I would love a video only mode for if I’m watching a friends stream and I’m in discord with them I don’t hear myself and them through the stream.

- Frustrating hidden defaults

I was reading Reddit and happened to click on a link that opened the twitch app (instead of unmute). I then switched back to my browser and continue with my activity. The app continues to run in the background, chewing up over 10Gb of mobile data and drained most of my phone’s battery in approximately 1 hour. So I started exploring the reason why it uses up so much data and it turned out the the default setting for autoplay is for both, WiFi and mobile data. Other options are off and WiFi only. Now, why does twitch thinks that having the default setting of WiFi + mobile data and streaming in the background is beyond me. Tldr: check the twitch autoplay setting in case it inadvertently consume all your bandwidth.

- Very good - could be better

I watch twitch on mobile, and that means that if i want to see the gameplay and chat, i need to either have a really small screen, or give about a third of screen space for chat. Other than that it works perfectly.

- Why would you tho?

Twitch automatically updated my settings so I would only receive notifications when I have the app open. Did not appreciate! Good app but did not appreciate it.

- It’s fine but..

It’s ok. But like i wanna watch somebody but before I can I have to watch this 2.35 minute add?? Like the moment of me getting excited to watch somebody is gone and I’m aggravated. Fair enough watching a 30 second add That’s fine but. 160 seconds of me just waiting around watching the same mini movie is just a kill joy. Thanks twitch for annoying me.

- Great video sharing platform

But there are a lot of small bugs that need to be fixed, example: when u tilt your phone the video screen zooms in and can’t be undone unless you tilt your phone side ways and back again. Please fix it’s very irritating

- Simps

Twitch is a great app but the twitch mods simp to pokimane. Until the mods stop being simps I will keep the rating as 4 stars

- 8 ads in a row

Twitch, are you kidding? 8 ads 30 sec each in a row while streamer is in online?

- Help

The app is great but..... every time an ad plays while I'm in the middle of a stream it would restart it. Pls fix this soon

Finally. You still get one star though. There are nice ways of showing off a new feature and then there's the way you chose to do it.

- hey

i gets kicked out of this app everytime i try to load into it fix this bug please

- Simps

Even though I never downloaded and saw the app WHEN I SEE THAT POKIMAINE THING IM GIVING IT A 1 STAR

- Making accounts is not working

First off I try to log in my account and I forgot password and had them send me email and then password would never work so I had to do it a bunch of times and still didn’t work, then they suspended my account which made no sense because I never go on twitch so I’d don’t do anything, then when I tried to make a new account several days later they said I made the account too fast which makes no sense why is there a time limit of how fast I’m going ?? There set up is hard and difficult and made me stop using twitch because I couldn’t log in and it wasn't even my fault. Fix my account twitch ur missing out on someone who wants to try streaming and watch videos of my friends because I love too.

- Mercenaries

Ad 1 of 6

- Ads

Too many ads.

- Pokimane

- Can fry eggs on my phone

iPhone X extremely overheating

- Twitch is simp

Twitch is dumping for thots

- Doesn’t feel finished

So not only does clicking a name or emote pop up a seemingly unclosable tab that you need to do a series of unnatural button presses to get out of, but it also doesn’t keep up with the stream properly. So people in chat see things a solid 10 seconds before I do, and that makes watching my favorite streamers less fun because I can’t interact on current topics. For those that are deciding between getting the app or watching in a browser, do the browser.

- How do I stream from my iPhone 11

It says online but nothing is happening please help👉❤️🛎🌎

- Totally addict

Twitch in 2021 is a part of my social life

- Twitch on Xbox

It is becoming more and more difficult to watch any saved videos for streamers on Xbox, there is severe lag, patchy viewing and horrible sound delays... this forces Xbox users to go to Mixer or YouTube for streams.. please fix.

- Broken app

Password reset verification process is broken. Keyboard doesn’t show up so you can enter the code sent by email

- Sudden black screen

Starting today the app doesn't work. Streams show half a second of video but then go to black screen permanently. I did not update the app or iOS since last night, so ???

- Ban

Ban pokimane

- Love it

But, I cant go live on my phone and im trying to stream cause im really good but cant it says something about im not aloud

She gets banned for saying simp yet male streamers using slurs against women are nothing, this disgusts me, this is minx’ job and she’s a big comfort to many. Do better twitch really disappointed.

- Simp

- This platform is not good

The hoes don’t get banned

- Too many too long ads

Not a fan of having to watch a new 30 second ad on a stream I am already watching every time I go back to it if I minimize or pause

- D m c a

Dmca sucks

- Review On Twitch

Twitch is an outstanding platform on which I can watch my favourite creators compete. My only downside is that Twitch does not have a hide chat feature. I feel that having chat on can sometimes be beneficial it often takes away from the overall enjoyment of the stream. More often than not you have annoying people writing odd messages or them trying to be funny yet they are mistaken. Twitch is an excellent addition to my device but I feel that a setting to hide chat would make my personal experience better!

- Best app ever

Oh my gosh it’s just amazing you’re so fun streaming

- Hard to use

Not enough info on how to do things Nor there is help for the features of the app

- App doesn’t work

This app simply doesn’t work, I’ve had advertisements from them telling me constantly to download the app to manage my stream on the fly, and I can’t even sign in on the thing. I get a “error loading profile” message when I tap the profile option. The app is the updated version and my phone is on the most current IOS

- Too many ads

Only using it because iem kato is twitch exclusive, YouTube is way better

- Love this app

This is an amazing app I love that I can watch my fav gamers!

- Commentaire Twitch

C Nice et les streams sont vraiment bon et utile

- Ads

Too many damn ads even while streamer is playing/online.

- Review

Very nice setup. I have had twitch for a while but never actually dipped into it. Creating clips and streaming videos now and it’s awesome. Keep it up team

- Twitch is soft core porn now

What happened to gaming ?

- Nice password

Ya go F off this is stupid your password requirements are too much later

- WAAAAAAY to many ads

The amount of ads twitch try’s to force feed you is absurd

- hi

i love this app so much

- Not working

Not letting me get the app again after I deleted it what is going on?

- You should try and keep your balance

Twitch has a lot of live streams And they are very very very long So don’t spend that much time on there ,but all in all I like it

- I like this app!

If your into gaming or just watching gaming in general,Then I recommend this app.

- TWITCH Djs supporting Djs

Hello: I have been watching Djs on Twitch for approximately 100 days. It’s better than TV. It’s is a wonderful way to watch live and the global unity is exquisite. It’s like clubbing worldwide. Big up Twitch and it’s owner. I will continue to support and promote it’s very interactive with the emojis, bits and chips. Born 1959. Who knew? It’s wonderful. Knitting us all together. 🇨🇦🎧🎤. My favourite is KingTurboSound. Straight outta Toronto Ontario Canada. Feb 14, 2021. Juliet. Again. I thank you ☺️

- It’s alright

I haven’t used much lol

This is so good it works so well and I love it to watch my favorites streamers playing my favorites games!!

- Recommendations

Recommendations don’t refresh, I keep getting the ones I’ve selected I wasn’t interested in. Would be nice to have a feature where I could select which categories I didn’t want to pop up. Also if I switch out of the app to say discord then back to the page I get a error message the size of my screen and kicked out of the stream I was watching. Other than that I love twitch and use it daily.

- Good app but fix a few problems

It’s good and all on the mobile if ur on the go or ur computer dead but I always watch the PC version because compared to the computer 9.9/10 times the mobile version has more stream delay than PC twitch. Also how come you can’t get free bits on the mobile version anymore PC twitch still gets them further cementing why you should you PC twitch over mobile twitch. One last thing can we get different ad mixes because Ik ads are annoying but it’s good for the platform but I hate getting the same PSA ad everytime I refresh a streamers page (not saying the PSA’s aren’t important but how many times am I gonna have to listen to “Marijuana, Alcohol, Prescription drugs.”)

- Great place to start

Twitch has always been an amazing service! Love what they do and how they do it! Little buggy here and there but overall great :) ThomasGovens is my channel I play FortNite and Overwatch come say hey! I didn’t write that first part it was auto filled. I kind of like it. I play loads of games and twitch has so many people that there is always someone new to meet and play along with. If you’re new to the app I recommend looking for streamers with about 30-50 people watching. They have enough people in chat that they will engage with you as well but it’s not over flowing and the streamer usually is able to multi task and talk to everyone ;) happy watching and happy streaming

- Loud ads and audio doesn’t play in background

This app has been fantastic. I’ve loved using it as the interface is clean and runs well. Streams are smooth and chat runs without hiccups. However, the end of Twitch Prime being ad-free has changed the experience. The advertisements are way too loud, which means Twitch is no longer good for ASMR viewers and people who like to use this while falling asleep. Another major issue is that when closing the app to allow the stream audio to play in the background, the stream now either stops or gets choppy, rendering the function unusable right now. This issue needs to be fixed. Between the loud advertisements and background audio issues, I haven’t used Twitch app in a while. That’s a shame, because this is an amazing platform and the app has been solid.

- Terrible for streamer

There are false icons that lead you to believe you can view analytics, the “graph” icon that pops up on the top right for “manage stream” only allows you to change the title and category of your games... that’s all. This app seems perfect for community. And getting to watch streamers, but a nightmare if you’re trying to do any upkeep or view statistics while you’re away from a pc. I can’t even click on the followers displayed in order to see who’s followed. If it’s going to be this over simplified mess make a separate app for people who stream or do a better job of integrating things from the desktop version into the app. I can’t even go on the site on mobile and hit “view desktop mode” because it will instantly open my app. If I have to go to desktop mode with the app uninstalled anyway to view the things I need why do I even have the app? 🤔

- Concerns

Twitch seemed to be almost flawless, but there should be a limit to each game and how many people can stream at a time. This causes the whole site be really slow and makes the one I’m watching buffer a lot. It would be a simple fix and I feel it there would the people who stream non-stop would take all the spaces, therefore there should be a limit or a quota that streamers need to stay within. If they don’t their accounts will be suspended do a good while. The most I see for a person to stream in a day is no more than 6 hours. That’s a fourth of the day, I think that’s plenty. I understand you deal with a lot of things already, so worry not. I have the patience of a saint. I’ll wait, and take all the time you need to settle this. Thank you and keep up the great work!

- No filter for most viewed anything

Imagine you’re browsing twitch’s front page for the game you want, it’ll be there, but there won’t be any chance those games will be in order of how popular they are. Say you find your favorite game and you want to see who the top streamers are, you’ll have to scroll and scroll past the lowest in popularity streams to find the top three you were looking for. However, with all that being said, there’s the option to filter which type of media you’re looking for: Live-streams, clips, and videos. Why? Hold that question for this next one. Not only can you filter media, you can filter by which stream labels the streamers have attached to their stream! Looking for a non-English speaker in a mostly English web? You’d better hope they labeled their stream with that language to have any chance of finding them.

- It’s okay but......

I only rate this low because the app has some problems. For instance, the stream I am watching will freeze from time to time and I have to close the app in order for it to unfreeze. Also, the app has a tendency to not update when ever you pull any menu to refresh. One other thing as well, I only notice this with my streams, whenever I have my stream pulled up on the app, in case my chat doesn’t work on my second screen, whenever I log it out on my computer and shut it down, it still shows myself logged in and streaming on my phone for a good 5 minutes before showing me offline. Now I do not write this in anger or dismissal. Merely informing you of some of the things I have come across. Once these bugs are worked out I will give a better rating. Thank you for your time and have a nice day.

- Lagging and Freezing constantly

So the app itself works just fine for my usage but the biggest problem is how laggy the streams are. I’ll be watching the same stream over stable WiFi on my computer and on my phone and the computer will have a 3-4 second delay while the phone has a 15-20 second delay. I’ll watch chat replies to the streamer pop up 7-10 seconds before I hear what they were replying to. The videos and audio freeze constantly and randomly it will “jump ahead” to get back to live and I’ll end up missing parts of what the streamer said. No matter if I’m on strong WiFi or full bars LTE data, I either have to watch in 160p or Audio only because otherwise it just freezes constantly. I’ve had this issue over multiple phones for multiple months. I really hope they fix this.

- iPad streaming problems

Before I begin to describe the bug, first a disclaimer: I know that streaming on an iPad is not ideal. I understand it would be better using a computer. I’m well aware. I want to use my iPad. Now that we have that out of the way, when I attempt to stream and my camera goes live, the live feed appears to be rotated 90 degrees in a clockwise direction. Screen lock doesn’t fix it. Rotating my iPad doesn’t fix it. Switching to/from frontside/backside cameras doesn’t fix it either. It seems like a bug in the app itself. I downloaded the app on my iPhone, and it works just fine. No problems. It very well may be a user error on my part, but I have yet to figure it out. Otherwise a very enjoyable user experience. Thanks.

- Trash and rushed

My main concern is that when I click I. The options for my own vide all I can do is report or block myself. I made a stream that I tried to delete because it never let me include my phone screen. When I went to look for an option to delete the video the only two options given to me were to report or block myself. Any intelligent programmer or even user for that matter can understand the blunder of this interface. Unless they were trying to sabotage their own app, I’m guessing that they only assumed mobile users would be trying to access content rather than create it. As mobile gaming will see new highs you would think a gaming streaming service would dedicate resources to allow content to be shared from mobile devices. New I’m betting they we’ll be replaced. Anyone know of any streaming app that allows you to stream your mobile game from your mobile phone?

- Nothing but issues

Literally never works the way you want it to. Never saves my place in a video, regardless if I’m subscribed or not. Forget watching something archived and pausing the video for even a second to check something else. It will reset the video and you either need to restart the app or watch a black screen for 4 minutes before it finally crashes. Good luck remembering where you were in a 5 hour stream. I was thankful I could close the screen and just listen to broadcasts, but even that is busted. When you do, the audio becomes garbled and unlistenable. Basically if you ask the app to do anything other than watching a stream (literally anything, even changing the resolution) it will either hang or crash or break in some weird way. I’ve been using the iPhone since gen 1, and I can’t think of a worse experience I’ve ever had with an app. Disgraceful. At least it’s “free”.

- 👎👎🏻👎🏼👎🏽👎🏾👎🏿👎🏾👎🏽👎🏼👎🏻👎

I found out about the app threw a Facebook live stream...(A FACEBOOK LIVE STREAM THAT WORKED)....after joining the app I tried watching the live stream but not only would the live stream not work but NOT ONE... NOT ONE video or live stream on the app would work!!! The only time anything worked is when I left the app & the audio played. This was my first time hearing about twitch, my first time trying to use twitch & well... yeah I now get why it’s the first time! I’d love to think it’s just a malfunction but after searching online & reading other reviews on here I can now tell it’s not just a random malfunction & on that note the account I made will get deleted given the app & website are up so you can watch videos & live streams yet none will load or work so that you can watch them. . . BTW clicking on a star is bothering me & if I could I’d be giving the app a negative three stars a long with this review...

- Buggy, with no updates.

TLDR Ads bad. But not cause ads, because bad numbers. Twitch continues to add new, convenient features without fixing their buggy video system. While I don’t mind getting hours of content for one measly ad (despite them being horrible pandering, playing over and over,) having to watch an ad on a video I was already watching just because I swiped a little too hard feels harsh. Losing my progress on my video just because one ad played is infuriating, especially when it happens over and over, and is even more frustrating for users with short term memory loss. Two (2) other things that cause this bug (along with others:) Closing Twitch, auto going into Audio Mode, reopening twitch and losing the play/pause button, meaning you have to close and come back, with a 1/3 chance of actually getting your progress back. Changing quality when the video won’t get past the frozen screen it shows you. (By the way, Auto starts in the highest quality and is pointless if you’re looking for what will work with shoddy internet. Because it doesn’t ever start!) Haven’t ever used your popular stream tabs because I only watch content I actually want to see. Probably bugs there too. Sometimes I wish Hitbox took off.

- Unfair and bias

I watch a streamer by the name of Mtash , his account was recently banned for a week, for featuring a banned streamer, he hasn’t played or even mentioned a single person who was banned recently at all . He doesn’t even know who it was that he “featured”. If twitch can just ban a person and take away their livelihood without even a good explanation and example of the guidelines they broke, this is not good , he is a father with bills to pay and has never done any damage to any person or the platform, he’s a person to look up to a small streamer that does good enough to pass by. Its unfair to see a big streamer like Nadeshot (whom i have nothing against) play and feature a banned streamer like DrDisrespect, within the same week and have nothing happen to him , even though Nadeshot has broken the same guideline that they are accusing Mtash of . I hope someone can look into this and fix the injustice going on here!

- Twitch

Twitch is very cool. You get to chat with your favorite streamers, you get to do emojis, and you get to maybe play with them in game. You also get to follow and subscribe them. One of my favorite twitch streamers is Ott15h. He is so nice and always welcome whenever I join the stream. We play together and twitch is a fun community with a lot of things you can enjoy! I have gotten to know people better! I can also stream and make people happy. I love talking with others about the game and inviting them to play with me. I love how it is not hard to stream! You should get this app and start having some fun! There is one rule that I always have on my streams, and that is have fun!

- App still needs more love

Ive been using the Twitch App for over 4 years now. While it has come a long way in terms of backend support and basic feature ports from the browser version it still lacks in a lot of features like changing your Twitch Prime settings, Sub button on profiles, and prime rewards. These features would improve the app by quite a margin but, the big main flaw for the mobile app is the higher streamer delay compared to all other forms of twitch. I don’t know if that’s something that can be resolved but it’s one big downside to using the Twitch app that really turns me off from using it. Come on Twitch it’d take just one big update to put the App where it should have been 2 years ago

- Crashes + Suggestion

So lately I’ve been having a lot of issues with the app crashing and playback. The stream will begin to buffer then pull up an error message and/or cannot connect to chat. It used to be here and there but now it’s an every day thing. It used to work fine when I first downloaded it but now it’s becoming a bit irritating. Also, suggestion, mod view. I’m a mod and most of the time the people I mod for are currently streaming when I only have the app accessible, if and when it decides to work. Once the bugs are fixed, mod view should be the next update so then that way other mods can do their part while away from the computer. Sure, I can do little things here and there but it would be beneficial to be able to do more.

- Genuinely awful

I rarely spend the time to write a review, but as somebody who works long shifts overnight, it’d be great to listen to my favorite streams to pass the time, but the mobile app is (and for some time now has been) horribly inconsistent in terms of its performance and functionality. At random, tabbing back into streams wither crashes the app entirely, or resets vods to the 0:00 mark for no reason. This happens every. Single. Time. I tab into the app. It makes it honestly not worth using as I spend too much time trying to find my spot in the stream just to have it pause again when I put my phone to sleep. Additionally, I cannot put my screen to sleep when ads are playing, which can last for periods up to over a minute and a half, depending on how many twitch wants to shove down my throat, which makes NO sense considering that they often start playing when in sleep mode.

- They fixed the two really annoying bugs I had.

Has two major bugs. One was where if I watched a clip, usually about it 10 seconds in the app would crash and my phone would get hot (iphone 7). That seems fixed. The other was when I opened a stream my own overlay wouldn’t come up when I tapped on the stream, so I couldn’t follow or go into the quality settings, etc. The only was to fix that was to click on the chat bar where your keyboard would come up then close out. Very happy these things are fixed. I would rate 5 stars if they didn’t have the recommended channels list on my following page. Really hope they give us an option to toggle it off.

- Glitchy and needs work.

My main problem is the audio only setting. When I have the streams on audio only, it sometimes will crash or will 'pause' the stream, thinking I'm listening to something else when I'm on something like my email, or playing a game on my iPod that's compatible with listening to both the stream and game audio at the same time. Other times, it'll crash, and I don't like that. Streams will also stop and have a brief moment of nothing happening and just being a black screen. Audio only option doesn't work, either, unless I stay on the screen. But if I go to tumblr or something, the audio will pause and won't play until I go and sit on twitch again.

- One of my favorite things to do in my free time.

I LOVE live-streaming, I love to just play games while interacting with some of my fans chatting with each other. This app is almost perfect, but I do have one problem. When I watch livestreams, it freezes every 15-30 minutes. It wouldn’t be a big issue if I wasn’t a speed runner who likes to look at my chat. Because I have to watch my streams to check if everything is okay and talk to the chat, I have to have my stream loaded up on my phone. But I have to stop and refresh the stream every time it freezes. It wastes my speedrunning time. It just a stupid nitpick but I just need to point it out. I don’t know if it’s my internet but yeah. I rate this 4 Stars, obviously.

- Really good but has an annoying verification bug

Great app ! But this review is more of a complaint about something that might be happening only to me, since I havent been able to find anyone else who has the same problem. Some streamers like Micheal Reeves or some other big streamers, require verification to chat. So I go to my twitch settings and try to verify, but my email is wrong. So I go to change it. I have Dashlane so it autofills my info. I enter the correct email, then my password, but it just refreshes and goes back to the screen with my email and but gives me no error or anything. Can someone help me ? Ps: I have tried not using Dashlane and just entering my info manually but it still doesn't work.

- please fix this!

So I was making a new account sense I forgot my other account user and password, I put something funny and random and I put my number and stuff and my birthday. Then when the verification sent it has a thing where it puts it automatically, so I entered it and it said the user was offensive so of course I changed it. I put something close, was offensive so I changed it. I tried again but it didn’t work. Then I put: imthecouchman and it just said I’ve had too many SMS sent to that number so of course I put my home email instead..... it said there was and error, tried again it said this email cannot be used. (Btw it was a “gmail” account so there shouldn’t have been a problem) So I was raging in confusion and I went to FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) and I didn’t see anything talking about it. And when I put my password over and over it says it’s: “weak” but then when I put it again it says it’s: “strong” I didn’t understand that at all. It would be better if you made the cool down for the too many verification codes a little shorter so I can make me a account!!

- For the love of god fix this

What’s annoying is that I can’t find the past broadcasts of a certain streamer it only shows the most recent ones for example I tried to find ItsTeamRyan’s stranded deep stream where he hunts the Megalodon I find a clip from that stream but when I go down to click the link to the full stream it says full broadcast unavailable witch ticks me off so please for love of God and everything that is holy and sacred please fix this because it ruins my whole experience and I can’t enjoy twitch when it does this so please fix this and because of this major error I will not be giving the app a five star review at most I’ll give it three stars but again please look into this and fix it in your next update and I’ll bump the rating up to five stars

- Theres no option to exit out the edit menu

When i hit the menu on the video there was only delete video option. When i tapped outside the menu nothing would happen. It would now let me exit the menu. And so the only way to exit was to hit delete or close the app....... my finger had a mind of its own from frustration and I deleted my 3 hour stream. Thats very upsetting. I record using stream lab obs on my phone so its nice to have the video backup from twitch. I wish i didnt need to use the desktop to download my videos. But it seems if i try on my phone it gets deleted. The interface is kind of clunky and is a little confusing to navigate. But the aesthetics is fabulous. Twitch is cool

- Worst Support team I have ever seen

I go to sign in to my twitch account to start streaming and the stream cuts out. So normally I sign back in and I put in my password that I thought I knew and came out to be wrong. So I reset my password and try to sign back in again reset my password and comes out that didn’t work. So I contacted Twitch support and they hit me with a to many password reset request and no further information on what to do. I tried putting in my info on the ticket website and request for help and here I am 3 days later and it’s still telling me to wait 24 hours. This is the worst support team I’ve seen for a website

- A little buggy..

I love this app and it has worked great for me in the past but recently it hasn’t been loading live streams correctly. I’ll tap on a live stream and it’ll either take forever to load and then just pause out of nowhere during the stream and take forever to load again or it just never loads and I get a black screen. Also, when the stream does load, I can’t play it at 1080p res like I used to, I have to put it at like 480p for it to stream smoothly and that’s never happened before and I know it’s not my internet because everything else loads fine. I hope this gets fixed!

- Love Twitch.... But hate the app...

I’ve been a fan of twitch for almost 2 years now. So much that I decided to download the app on my phone to watch my streamers while I’m not doing anything at school. But I have plenty of issues with the mobile app. For starters, the MAJORITY of the streams I wanna watch freeze up when I click them, even after restarting the app. Second, the streams that will play for me lag 100% of the time. And I know for a fact that it isn’t my internet. I have LTE full bars, in a city that uses the same provider I use. And every other app works perfectly fine. Third, this app always crashes after I’ve been using for me than 20 min. Not a fan of the app. But Twitch in general on PC, I love it. If it gets fixed, I will most definitely 5 star this app but until then, I’m not satisfied. Get it fixed, please.

- Needs Updating to be Optimized for iPhone XS

The Twitch app looked fine on my old iPhone 7s plus but it is not for the XS. The video part doesn’t fit properly if you hold it landscape position and have chat appear some parts are cut off of the video. If you hold the way the iPhone normally is and not landscape all fits fine but I always watch in the landscape position. Overall, I feel the Twitch app would be great (and I’d give 5 stars) if it was properly fitted for all iPhone layout positions. I hope it’s fixed/updated so it fits properly for different phone types. The only other issue I know of atm is it seems like Twitch chat is ahead of me and I have very good internet and a new iPhone XS so I shouldn’t be lagging behind chats/streams.

- Vods are Still Broken

Hey Twitch, I understand you’re trying your hardest, but seriously? The vods have been broken/ janky for almost a year. All these updates have gone by, some things get fixed and some stay. The last update, I’ll give you props for finally fixing the pausing. (Hitting resume would result in no audio and desync between video and audio playback. But still, I’m finding the VODS to be janky as heck. There’s still desync! If I start using the 30/10 forward/back, eventually the whole thing manages to screw itself up. The video eventually is not actually where the time stamp indicates? Please fix this, every time this happens, I have to spend another couple minutes trying to find the time where the video “actually was”

- 99% of the time my streams either don’t start, or get cut off like 15 minutes in.

Most of the time when I start a stream it just gets cut off right away. What happens is it shows that I’m streaming then it closes and sends me back to my channel. It is stupid. I’d rate his lower if I could because this has been happening for a long time and I’ve contacted about it but still nothing has happened about it. (I use an iPhone 6S btw) PLEASE do SOMETHING about it. Also, I’d like to be able to chose what game I’m playing from my mobile device as I am starting my mobile stream. (I need to use my phone because I cannot afford a computer)

- I hope to be big some day Tucker / TOXICGAMMER12

I really like this app and I can’t wait to become a good streamer and I am 11 years old and I want to be a faze member when I grow up but that isn’t going to happen but I’m glad I’m trying. And I just really want to show every body my skills so yea I like your stuff and all the you tube gamers and I want to be one when I grow up sorry if this doesn’t make sense and sorry if I’m wasting your time but I just think twitch is the right place to start to become a faze member. And always wanted to meat faze tfue and lots of people bring me down and say in your dreams. So yea keep up the good work.

- quality of the stream

I love Twitch and all, but for some of my friends who stream, i can’t choose what quality it only gives me auto and 720p48 for one of them. The auto is 720. For another the auto is 1080p, and the option it gives me is 1080p60 i think. I’m saying this because their streams freeze for me, but when i go to a bigger streamer, I can choose whatever i want, and when i click 720p60 it doesn’t have any problems with freezing. This also only happens when i join my friend’s streams mid way through them. When i join when they begin their streams i’ll have all of the options. I’m not sure but any feedback would be appreciated!

- Mobile optimization is terrible

After the recent IOS updates twitch on mobile has been a torture to use as for some reason suddenly when watching a stream you can no longer tap the screen to show things like the exit button or full screen. The stream just continues to play without letting you do anything and suddenly the app closes by itself and the only way to fix it is by closing the app completely and going back to the stream and even then it just continues to do the same thing. All in all the recent IOS updates has brought a multitude of bugs and glitches to twitch that i would love to be fixed to improve the quality of life and bring back the fun of twitch where you can enjoy yourself instead of getting angry while trying to receive entertainment due to the poor optimization of twitch.

- Tf

I literally just made an account, all I wanted to do was search someone up, and instead of entering my email so I won’t get 500 emails every week from them, I said “use number instead”. Now a lot of people are familiar with those random text things that offer you deals on stuff you’ve never even knew existed, or just some weight loss pills or something. Okay my friends get those all the time, I never do, like never. So anyways, I created my account, went to search for the channel I was looking for, didn’t find it, left the app... BOOM (not even 3 minutes after creating it) a text saying “(my name):-Drink This When you Wakeup, Watch Your Body Fat Melt Like Crazy! (a link)” Like I know you aren’t going to tell me that isn’t because I just entered my number into there. Ridiculous... and I best not be getting more of those texts every hour.

- Great! but DEFINITELY needs some work.

1. I use this almost daily to watch overwatch content (and some other things). With the new update it allows you to watch ads to earn bits (+2 per ad) and suddenly the button disappeared. I had donated 202 bits to the overwatch league and planning to get 300 bits donated (for in-game items). I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled over 4 times to no avail of the button returning. 2. The web browser side is far superior compared to the app. The extensions to see viewers location was cool and all but I feel like the something like what the overwatch league has on their web browser twitch page would be great. That way, I do not have to go back to the web browser to check the global progress (in bits).

- crucial quality of life suggestions

when swapping to picture-in-picture and back it breaks the player returning to the main app do NOT load an ad after i’m forced to reload the app for the 20th time, please. store it in a cookie- maybe have a cooldown of half an hour? the same mcdonalds ad makes me want to swear off fast food forever, not use their app. at least give me bits for wasting time so at least someone gets rewarded for my pursuit of trying to watch them? auto resolution is slow, and hangs up the stream more than it helps compared to manually adjusting quality. add a “reset player” button that doesn’t sever connection. streams sometime freeze entirely, reopening them doesn’t refresh the player/connection, and the only way to fix this is to open a new stream. add advanced buffer size and delay configurations for advanced users, this would literally fix half the problems i have with stability- i understand mobile networks are unpredictable and varied. and of course this is like bottom of the list, but emote auto-complete through chat would be a godsend instead of having to navigate emote menus when you have a lot of emotes. thank you so much to who ever reads these and passes them along.

- Review from a streamer.

I’ve only just begun to build my streaming base and start finding out who I am as a twitch streamer. But I can say this, it is absolutely amazing. It’s always an awe striking night whether I’m watching someone’s stream, playing with one of my buddies in custom matches on their streams or having a good time making a fool of myself on my own stream with the few who come to be entertained. I love doing it and can’t wait to grow and be able to offer more to all my viewers as well as to see what twitch comes up with next. Thank you guys for all you do and all your working hard to do in the future.

- Error problems

I’ve been having nothing but problems for the past few months since the coronavirus. I guess they gave up on this app or are too lazy to fix the problems with it. There’s not even a place to complain about the issues. I know Twitch doesn’t care about iPhone app problems because they don’t get any money from Apple. That’s why there’s not a subscribe button on there. Because Apple doesn’t make any money from Twitch. But it doesn’t explain the reason why I can’t get anything other than an error on my phone or on Xbox. There’s always loading issues and error problems. And no way to complain about it. When I do get to see somebody stream I can’t chat. Somebody needs to fix this or just ditch it and remove the app completely. I pay good money for subscriptions I can’t even watch the channels.

- “Chat” burned into my screen

Best platform out there for streaming hands down. The iOS app is amazing and runs smoothly. Two things I would fix/change: 1) Remove the word “chat” from above the chat window. It doesn’t need to be there, as you can see it’s the chat window. My old phone had the word burned into the screen because of it. Not very cash money of this app. 2) I would like a refresh button added to the player so that if you switch to another app for a couple minutes and come back you can choose to continue to play the stream from where you left off, or hit refresh and catch the video up to watch live.

- The tech is fine, but I miss the browse feature.

I really believe you screwed your creative streams when you categorized streams and eliminated browsing. Categories and keywords work fine for gaming streams — games have titles after all, but creative streams do not fit that model, and so I have to seek them out on non-twitch platforms to find them. That means I am not coming back to twitch to watch them unless they have a stream I want to see. It also shows how you have let the creatives down, as their lives are that much more difficult having to find alternate paths to drive users to their content. The creatives I have spoken with have all said the creative community on twitch is less now, because losing the browse feature caused their streams to dry up and fail. Truly a sad thing.

- Great app, but bit ads aren’t great.

I have enjoyed this app alot, and many troubles i’ve seen with other users i never got. This however, doesnt help. I dont pay money for bits, and rely exclusively on ads for my bits. My problem with them begin with constant “interactive” ads, which just have you click the screen then rate how you felt. That problem stems from the fact that some regular ads are more interactive than the interactive ones. But that doesnt end it. Some of these interactive ads are repetitive. I had one session in which i clicked for an ad, and it asked if i was a mother with a child between the ages of 16 and 22. I said no, then it asked my age and gender. I put my age and that i was a male, and it gave me an ad correspondingly. Well, that same ad came up for the rest of the session i was trying to get bits during. Not to add to it that these ads dont always give bits. I’ve found it to be a half of the time. Normal ads will always give bits if you get a normal ad. These have grown more prevelent. Thank you for your time, and have a nice day.

- Improvements needed desperately.

I will always appreciate being able to watch streams anywhere, but the quality of it is down right awful. Sometimes I’ll be able to watch streams, but then chat isn’t working because of its constant loading. Or chat will run smooth, and stream will consistently freeze, crash, and have a major delay. Emotes are another issue, you can casually be using emotes and then the emote will fail to work. It’ll proceed to scramble the lettering and then a emote will not be sent. Overall, it makes you look like a fool in chat. I’ve also experienced audio only issues. Where I’ll change a channel to audio only, and then the audio changes into a loud garble of sounds. Most of these mishaps seem to only happen on IOS, as well.

- It’s Pretty Cool.

It’s a great alternative than just using the website. But that doesn’t mean it’s perfect. It’d be nifty if you could edit your profile pic or something like that (maybe there is a way, but I can’t find it. But it should be easily accessible). And plus, sometimes I just... don’t... get... notified about some streams, but maybe that’s just a flaw Twitch has in general. Maybe the same goes for emotes. There are some emotes I just can’t see. I just see text (like the SourPls emote, but maybe I have to be in a... certain position in order to see it properly). But other than those things, it’s pretty cool.

IF YOU WANT A ONE ON ONE EXPERIENCE WITH PRO PLAYERS VIEW SOME OF THE PEOPLE WITH NO VIEWERS! If you like large communities where you can spam chat and be heard, this application is it. Some of these streamers have been playing like professionals for over 10 to 15 years, and have always been overlooked, so it’s nice to be the only audience ALL THE TIME! The first person I watched was 4AK7 on 4AK7TV and he was phenominal. The kid should get signed for his nasty shots. Either way any of you can download and watch for FREE!!! That’s right no charges to watch these guys. Only small commercials which is RARE! What are you guys waiting for!? - Streams freeze constantly

It is not the app it used to be. Before the streams would never freeze and there have been many updates but none have addressed this issue. If you want to watch twitch you are way better off watching on pc. The streams constantly freeze and you have to reload the stream. The audio and stream will get off and be laggy and you have to reload the stream. If you’re not subbed or have twitch prime when you reload the stream more often than not you will have to watch ads and then you get stuck in a endless loop of streams freezing and having to reload them and then having to watch ads. It seriously gets so frustrating. Definitely wouldn’t recommend watching on the app until this issue gets fixed which it hasn’t in 6 months so it probably won’t ever get fixed.

- More updates, more problems

Twitch is great. The app is not. Used to keep twitch on to listen to and watch in the background on my phone when I’m not near my computer. Can’t really do that anymore. As of the new update, here is a typical use of the app: watch un-skippable 30 second ad, stream randomly freezes within next 30 seconds, try to fix by changing stream quality, settings etc... for about 1 minute, restart app to fix, then watch the same un-skippable 30 second ad just so your stream can freeze again. Also the UI gets worse with every update. Who thought removing local dark mode would be a good idea? I swear theres a team of people working on this app that will be fired if they don’t come out with unneeded updates every month. Only explanation for the nonsensical changes. I don’t use the app anymore.

- Eh,

The twitch app is extremely unstable. Each time I watch an ad, it starts the video over. Every time I close my phone and go do something for more than 2 minutes, it plays an ad, and starts the whole stream over again. For the past few hours, twitch has been just not playing a stream when I select it, and I don’t understand why. The ad will work, but then it just freezes on the first frame of the stream and no matter how much time you give it, it will not work. I have tried everything; closing out the stream then going back, closing the app then returning, shutting my phone off, and even deleting the app and re-installing. Also, the ad hasn’t changed since i’ve been using it. It’s been the same 2 wingstop ads for the past 3 days.

- Can’t get notifications to work?

There are a lot of streamers who I love to watch on twitch and you can find good things to watch, and that of which I applaud. But the reason I’m only giving three stars is because for some reason I haven’t been getting any notifications on my app(iOS). I’ve tried as much as I could, including deleting the app and reinstalling, logging out and back in, checking my profile online, going into settings, looking at other problems people have seen and I can’t figure out why my notifications aren’t working. This makes wanting to catch a stream of like to watch hard and disappointing. I’m not sure if anyone else has a similar problem, but that’s my issue.
