Nuisance Notifications. The app was great until someone decided it was wise to send out daily alerts about nothing ("be sure to check you lottery numbers", "it's going to get hotter 3 days from today", "hey look at me"). I complained to their feedback on the 2nd instance, uninstalled it after about a week of daily nuisance alerts. Chatted with some friends at a local Apple user group today, 5 of 7 of us had each come to the same decision to uninstall this annoying app.

My Best Weather App. I’m surprised at the low rating for this app. I love it!! I had five weather apps when I did my review and found this one to be the best. Yes, I get alerts for other parts of the KWCH viewing area but that doesn’t bother me. Hint: if you don’t want notifications, turn them off.

Not user friendly.. I downloaded this app because I am a fan of the news station and the weather team. Unfortunately, the app is nowhere near the quality. It takes excruciatingly long periods of time for the video blogs to load. Quite often I find myself closing the app to use a different one that works better. As a result, I am deleting this app.

It's now spamming. The app does a fine job of delivering local weather information. However, a key reason I used it was so I could get severe weather notifications. It used to limit itself to that. Then lately, it started sending out notifications for things like "clear and breezy". Annoying, but it delivered some info. NOW it is sending SPAM. Messages like, "Want to know when it will rain next? Check the app". Infuriating. Useless. If this doesn't stop in the next week, I'm moving away from this app.

CT Users getting Kansas notifications. I used to love this app, but now I get notifications for Kansas weather and I live in Connecticut. I have the location set up properly and still every day get alerts for Kansas weather. This has been going on over a week. When are they going to fix this?

I will be uninstalling soon. If you don't get rid of these stupid notifications that pop up once a day then I will be forced to uninstall. It used to be when I heard your notifications I would instantly grab my phone and look because you always told me about severe weather and such. Why would I want to know that the forecast is changing soon. Or about a hurricane that isn't even affecting me yet. Get rid of these stupid notifications please.

Lending Tree Ad. Lending tree add is infuriating! IF there is an”x” on it, the colors hide it. You CANNOT get rid of it unless you close the weather app and hopefully it is gone when you reopen . If you don’t get rid of it I am going to KAKE!

Best. This app is better than the weather that they give you when you get your phone it tells the truth but the weather after that they gave you when you got your phone it’s not true

Failure To Connect. While the Storm Team 12 meteorologists are good, this app is just the opposite. Half the time I try to pull it up it gives a message that it can’t connect to the server. I now have an Accuweather app loaded that I reference when Storm Team 12 app is not working. I’ve reloaded the app from the App Store several times hoping this gets addressed in an update but hasn’t happened. This needs to be fixed.

Alert overlays drive me nuts. I’ve used this app for years but the most recent update has made the alert overlays appear by default. Every time you open the app you have to clear the alert overlays before you can see radar. It needs a way to save a custom view or a button to quickly turn off overlays.

Weather forecast. I appreciate accurate weather information. As a painter, my livelihood revolves around the weather, so I need to know temperature, humidity, wind direction/ speed, and of course chances of rain. Thanks for including this info in your forecast.

Turned into a SPAM bot. The app itself is a great way to check local weather and check the 24/7 weather stream when there is severe weather in the area. Lately they have been sending out pointless notifications. Before I would get notifications severe weather in my area. Now I am getting notifications that the end of summer isn't here yet, there is a heat wave coming or that Labor Day is going to be between 80-90 degrees. If they don't stop soon I'll be looking for another app for local weather alerts.

Review. We now live in Shell Knob, MO but I still use your weather app. I find that you come closer to accurately predicting our weather than the the TV stations in Springfield do. We live right on Tablerock so there is a bit of lake adjustment but your overall forecasts are good.

Quick & Essy. When weather approaches I want to be able to look at the radar with as few clicks as possible. Your app is the best for that.

Is not very reliable. I’m about fed up with the app. It is so unreliable. Just last night I checked it and said storms at 5 a.m, checked at 2 a.m. and no chance of rain. Then at 5 a.m. storms came through. Sometimes you can look at the daily and it says one thing but if you look at the hourly it contradicts what the daily said. I can be looking at it on my phone and my partner in the same room will look at it at the same time and it says something different. I just can’t rely on it to plan a day. Very disappointing and frustrating.

Works Well👍. More accurate than I expected that it would be from the onset. Doesn’t lag when I’m watching the videos. Makes me think about getting rid of the Weather Channel app! Please put the CBS Eye back in your logo!

The App Is Pretty Broken.. First, I do like this app. I appreciate the future forecast map and how you get a lot of video updates on the weather, along with the lightning detected near your location feature. The unfortunate part is that hourly updates won’t show up at times and it only shows a ton of ads instead of the forecast. Another thing is when you pause a video or barely scroll away and are forced to watch MORE ads, or it glitches out and makes you watch another anyways. There are better weather apps in my opinion, but this one isn’t bad.

Too much to load. With the latest update, the app now takes way too long to load. They tried to put a lot of information on the homepage, but the downside is it takes longer than a minute to load. I can pull up two or three other weather apps in the amount of time it takes this one to display.

Dependable accurate weather predictions always!. I absolutely depend on my weather information from channel 12 exclusively!! Thank you for being awesome at your work!!

Update has made it unusable. Since the update a little over a week ago, the app is extremely difficult to use. The map moves too fast, and the resolution seems worse. There is a glitch as well that occurs after receiving an alert. For instance, if I get an alert that there is lightning nearby, and I click on the alert, it takes me to a static zoomed in map. But then when you return to the radar map, you cannot get any the watch or warning boxes (that normally disappear while the map is in motion) to go away. These boxes cover the radar image. Restarting does nothing. Frustrating. I’ll switch to something else.

Internet. This is an amazing app like I can look to see if there will be rain but the reason that it is not a 5 stars is because it doesn’t work without internet for me like that’s weird how something that’s supposed to tell you about weather in your area doesn’t work without Internet so fix that and then it will be stars

Fear mongering, most likely to sell more ads. It’s happened a lot recently, but today’s “Kansas weather day,” in which lots of storms and tornados were predicted just to end up being another lack luster of a day in Kansas, became the last straw for me to delete the app. Let’s get all schools to cancel, businesses to close early, and trigger the masses to pack the stores now in fear so we can get them to watch us more. It’s ridiculous. Tone down your predictions and start being more realistic.

Weather. Always reliable, accurate weather information.

Weekly forecast. Thank you for having the 7 day forecast with everything we need to know for traveling. It is especially helpful to my husband and I when planning our trips as we pull a 43' RV and we like knowing what the wind is blowing and how fast as we travel across the state.

Too many notifications. Used to be really good about notifying for severe weather. Lately been notifying me every time the sun rose in the morning. On my way back to Wichita from KC last week, I counted 8 notifications about lightning, each about 5 minutes apart. Tried to turn them off, but kept coming. Decided to kill the app and uninstall it from my phone. Unless it stops, will use a different app.

The latest update is terrible. You can’t see the radar when severe weather alerts are turned on because they cover up the radar so much. Thunderstorm watch/warning used to be yellow and tornado watch/warning was red. Now thunderstorm watches and warnings are red and significant weather advisory is yellow. I have no clue what tornado will be. The app still takes forever to initialize.

Thumbs down 👎. Don’t like the radar. The previous version had color variations that would let you see the intensity of approaching hail. This one is green, yellow, and red. I would also like to have all of the semi transparent watches and warnings be an option instead of default. Every time I open the map, I have to go through and shut off the watches and warnings to get a clear view of the map and the things I want to see like earthquakes and storm tracks, I have to put on manually. Somebody please enlighten me on how this one is better. Wish I had a choice, I’d go back.

Rarely even opens after update. I used this all the time before the update. Now it takes forever to open. Normally I get tired of waiting or I have to go to work before I can check the weather. This is not useful. I have only been able to use it a couple times since the update. I had to load KAKE FirstAlert because I need to know the weather. Please fix it. I have an iPhone SE updated with the latest iOS and a 100 MBPS WiFi network. It should not be this slow. It was very pretty the couple times it opened. However, if it generally doesn’t open, what does that matter?

Good info, the notifications are straight drama. Title says it all. Nothing will shift your day like the weather app sending you a notification that the weather is going to be absolutely terrible at a future date. Will use for information, but notifications have to be turned off.

Storm Team 12. Storm Team 12 is my go to weather app. for local weather and weather around the country I am interested in. Very user friendly for me.

Weather. Check your weather first thing in the morning! I check it many times a day!

Update fixed it!. Updated review: The update has fixed all the glitches! I am once again so very happy with this app. That being said, I will probably never participate in an update again, since that’s how it became glitchy in the first place! My old review: This app used to be a 5 star app and it now won’t even open or load on my ipad pro since the last update. Please fix this!

Ace_888. Storm Team 12 is without a doubt, the most reliable weather team. Most accurate Doppler radar the most up-to-date weather news happening in our area. I’m an avid fisherman and your Milford Lake forecast are always good. Thank you, Storm Team 12.

News 12 Weather. I keep getting updates for Kanas City. I live on Long Island. My location is in as Dix Hills NY. Very annoying to have to see the update isn’t for here. I deleted the app and reinstalled it. I am still getting Kanas City. I do get for Long Island but every video is for Kanas City.

Accurate. For western Kansas (Oakley) you seem to be most accurate for our area. I check the site many times. Sometimes radar and map aren’t as accurate but close. Number one in my book. Thank you!!!

Can no longer view forecast without persistent ads. As in the title. When viewing anything in the app a full screen advertisement pops up, after dismissing the ad it will come back within seconds making the app unusable. Along with this simply going to view a video forecast makes a video ad come up every single time. I get banner ads sure but this isn’t acceptable by any means. There’s plenty of alternative weather apps out there, only reason to use this was for local forecasts with our own meteorologists and to support the local station. But that’s getting much harder to do now.

Stupid notifications. Don’t care if lightning was 4.2 miles from my location. When there’s a thunderstorm with lightning it goes off all the time and it gets annoying. Only wanted notifications of storms approaching. Just shut off notifications so I guess I won’t get those now but am sick of all the notifications that mean nothing. Maybe you should send out lightning notifications when it hits my location.

Good to go. If you want a good local weather app then this is it. I’ve tried so many others but for reliability, it will be difficult to beat this. Obviously not perfect but show me a weather app that is.

Don’t wake me for wind warnings. The real utility for this app would be if you could set it for tornado warnings only. I don’t care if there’sna severe thunderstorm with 80 mile an hour winds and large hail at 1 AM because I’m already safely sucked into my house. What I care about is a tornado where I should seek basement shelter, but your app lacks a setting for that. If I’m awake I don’t need an app to tell me what other alerts are out there. You need more specific setting alerts. If I set a severe weather alert and you wake me to tell me the wind is blowing hard in Kansas I’d be angrier than the storm.

The ads are painful. Great app BUT to watch a 45 second weather video you first wait 30-45 seconds for the ad to load then the 15 second ad. The time it takes for the ad to load has become longer and longer. Painful for such a good app otherwise.

Storm Team 12. The radar map is a go to map! I always want to know about the upcoming weather before I begin, my day, or before going to bed. This map and radar are spot on. Thanks.

Not happy. I don’t care for this recent update. Especially the map. It shows the entire country. After adjusting to my location, that setting does not stay set. Each time I open the app, I have to change the map. Which is annoying. Didn’t have to do this before. And there are too many buttons. I liked the previous version much better.

Weather. Each morning I awake to view channel 12 weather and I certainly apprehensive weather alerts you send . The temperatures are usually right on. Thank you to all the weather people who are very knowledgeable….

Used 1.7 GIGABYTES in 6 days + major battery drain. Despite the most recent update, this app is a major data hog and battery drain. Something was using major amounts of data and I was able to confirm that this app was the culprit by resetting the usage statistics and rechecking less than a week later to find that it used 1.7 gigs. The total of all my other apps was less than .25 gB in that 6 day period. Before this I tried scaling back the app’s location access but that made no noticeable difference (“only while using app” instead of “always”). Besides the data, there were days when it was responsible for more than 60% of my battery drain.

Needs improvement. I understand your need to make money from advertising, but I need to be able to read the information. I can’t risk accessing your notices in a quiet place for fear they will have sound. Also, maybe one time out of four, when I click on your notification, it does not go to the information mentioned.

Content is great, ads make app glitch. First of all, I understand that ads are necessary. But a 30 second ad for a 35 second weather update is a bit ridiculous. It’s also annoying that if you want to replay the content, you have to watch the ad again. Please fix that.

Storm Team 12. I am so delighted with our storm 12 app! It is really on top of the weather and covers all my questions any time I get on to check things out! It must be because we have very conscientous and informed meteorologists! I thank you for your great coverage! Keep up the good work! Carrie

Not as good as it was. Something was changed in the app particularly with the radar. If you let it play it shows you what the radar had TWO hours ago. What good is that? It then plays to the current time and stops. Selecting “Future Radar” has an animation that starts at the current time, but with a totally different radar pattern! So I guess in one seconds time all the clouds rearranged themselves.

Would like warmer temperatures. Hey Mark, How about blowing in some warmer temps and sunshine. This feels to much like January. Thanks for a great 12 app and instant weather reports. We can’t wait for this cold front to move out of here. Don

Not good if you need immediate knowledge of a storm.. This used to be the best weather app, but now all I can get is commercials when I need to see immediate storm info. Very disappointed!

App. The info is typically old news and weather info. Videos don’t load all the time. I check it to remind myself of possible high and low temps for work. It’s average!

Update is awful!. The map update is awful! The 3 so called map choices are terrible. It is way to dark and the so called satellite image is old. When I zoom in our house I no longer see the shed, extended patio, or extended driveway. The old, much better image, I could! Bring back the old and much easier to see map!

Western Farmer. Good accurate forecast, I really like the radar maps !

Has some network issues. When the app works, it is great. But 50-60% of the time I get a “Network Error” when it is loading telling me to make sure that my phone is not on airplane mode and connected to WiFi, while I am connected to WiFi

Doesn’t work on iPad. This app used to work just fine on my iPad. As of the the last month it doesn’t work at all. It opens to the title page then freezes. Used to be a great app. Hope you find a solution to this problem.

Trying to ck the radar & game pops up without obvious way to get rid of it except to close the app.. I can’t see what I’m typing.

My go to app for weather!. I can always get up to the minute weather, temps, wind, warnings and feels like temps so I know how to dress when I take my dogs out every morning! Love this app!

Slow regression. Over time- it’s gotten so bogged down with ads, that it takes longer to load sometimes than it takes to scan the forecast.

Storm team. Gotta live thru an ad to see a “storm” notification. What if there is a storm, while we learning about a tractor

Ads and ridiculous weather alerts. “Blizzard warning in NW Kansas.” Gee, thanks, glad their is a blizzard warning hours away. Maybe you can throw in some weather alerts for Denver too as the same time. Completely irrelevant alerts and ad overload make for a two star rating.

Not Good!. This app has suddenly gotten unusable. It won’t open or it takes a huge amount of time to open. I have had to use the apps from your competitors! Hopefully your tv weather forecaste is not skewed too! I have deleted it until the bugs are exterminated!

Body sculpting ad. I really have a hard time with your ad for body sculpting. It’s not worth the weather to have to watch porn

Love it. Very useful when it is about to storm and better accuracy than other apps. Also made me go viral on TikTok lol

Not helpful for my area. I always get random notifications of the weather in random places that I don’t live in. If I tell them to tell weather in location, it still shows weather in random places

App-Radar. This app is too difficult to change from past to future views in the radar and to find instructions to change back and forth

Needs a major update. Radar shows nothing when it’s pouring rain. Then once the storm has past the radar shows a cell right above my location. Severely behind in tracking.

Slow loading. It takes forever to load. I try not to use it unless I have very fast WiFi, and even then it’s slow. Good information though when it finally does load.

Wrong City despite putting in my location. I constantly get news reports on Kansas despite never looking up weather there! I have my location saved too!

Good for traveling. Like this app but the news app has a lot of work to do to catch up with this one. Really like the ability to add different places and it automatically switches to the city you are in.

Ad Delivery App. This app wasted so much of my phone’s resources, I never could find out the weather. Video ad after video ad caused continuous rebuffs and freezing that I gave up in frustration. What a mess. I’d be willing to pay for a weather app minus ads, to avoid the incessant and annoying spam!

Worse App EVER. I have relied on this app for a lot of info including severe weather situations and I always get a “system error” or “connection error” even if I’m on WiFi and the app is completely updated. I try to watch the live feed and it is impossible. It will either continue to buffer or just crash completely. Not relying on this app when there is a tornado, that’s for sure!

Storm Team 12. I use when I travel for road construction and everywhere else.

Love this app use it all the time and very accurate. I use it all the time especially on WeatherAllert days

Weather review. Your weather is always very thorough

It keeps getting worse. When calling up the map, it takes FOREVER to refresh the screen. Now you force feed video ads. Time to go to AccuWeather

The Radar is always inaccurate. I started noticing the radar would show rain or thunderstorm in my area when no rain was coming down. I would switch to Ksn weather or the weather channel, and the Rain was far from my location.

Accuracy. This app is not accurate with the temperatures. I have other weather apps and they all say the same temperatures except for this one. The other apps are always correct too. One time this app said the high was 67 and all my other apps said 82. I was wearing long pants and all my friends were wearing shorts.

Video never plays and way too long to load. I get push notifications when they post a new weather forecast video and the video never plays. It’s so frustrating because Kwch is my favorite weather team but this app NEVER works the way it should.

Ross’s Blog. I am a farmer/rancher. I check Ross’s blog daily. His blog is a very helpful tool that I use in my daily line of work. Thank you Ross. Keep up the good work.

Review. Storm Team 12 does an excellent job! All do a great job! Especially like the young man who does most of the reporting......weather and news. When Merrill Teller left, this young man who is the chief Meteorologists took over. I’m apologizing for saying his name .....as of this moment, sorry Hope he is there permanently! Thank you....... Coverage.. Reports from 200 miles west of Wichita but not 65 miles east. Living near eureka and commuting to Wichita is common for hundreds of my friends. Yet no coverage. Go to Liberal a couple hours west and I even know what time the rain will start and stop. Both are theoretically in your zone. I’ll be dropping you app after researching a better one

The best app. This place is amazing it works always 24/7 ksn is not very good compared to this

Last update hosed it up. You’ve taken what used to be a simple straightforward app and progressively hosed it up making changes that ultimately screws up something else! Two updates ago it was a 5-star app, then you had idle time so you started screwing with its overlays. Now the map doesn’t load at all. Go back 2 updates!

I love this. It’s a cool thing to have before i had this i had to go outside to check the weather this helped me so much.

So many ads. will redirect you to add site even if you don’t touch the ad.. Ads will send you to there site without you touching the screen. Slow startup. Doesn’t like to load outside of cities. Take out the ads so folks can use this out of the city.
