I sure do love this app!. I loved the first version, but version 2.0 with audio and video is really great! Being able to play clips of calls with explanation of the situation and call itself is very helpful. Worth more to me than a measly $5, that's for sure! Anyone who can find ANYTHING bad to say about this app either just likes to gripe for the sake of griping (we all know THOSE people) or... well, you can't fix stupid.

Useful, but worth five bucks?. After reading some of this guys articles and watching some of his vids on the internet, which I found useful and enjoyed, I thought I'd take a gamble on this app. It's got quite a few vocalizations for cows and bulls with audio or video from the author on what they mean. I think it will come in useful for practicing before the hunting season, but not worth five bucks. You can find similar stuff on elk sounds for free that will be sufficient if that's what your looking for. Other than the elk sounds I didn't find the rest of the app that helpful. If your new to hunting it could help. But like the elk calls you can find plenty of free stuff on elk hunting tactics.

Sort of Ok. Decent information, but quite repetitive. It appears to repeat scenarios in each situation you get into. Kind of pricey for what you get.

Great App and Program. I have been a member for 2 years now and I can assure I will continue to be a member. This is a great App and the full website is outstanding. I have seen where others say it is just entertaining but not worth the money, we they are wrong. I use the Elk Module weekly listening and learning and I have increased my abilities to call and hunt greatly. If you listen to what Chris has to say, pay attention to the lessons and apply them correctly, you too will improve. This is not just a sight of "here is how to make a sound", this is a sight where you dive into why the sound is made and when you should use it correctly. Give it a try.

Great App. This is the perfect app to learn not only call tones, but the strategies on when to use them. Plus it gives great insight on where to locate elk. Well worth the price and then some, you won't be disappointed.

Awesome app!. Best $4 I ever spent for elk hunting, seriously! Shame on you if you spend $4 on a coffee to get you through the drive and not on this :)

Awesome tool. This is a great tool to turn to when things are tough in the elk woods. Will get you to looking at options and give you tips on what to do. Also gives the calls, used the purpose of them and helps to perfect your calling strategies

Great hunting tool!. I had a couple situations last fall stump me, so I've been working through them with this app. What Chris says was going on and his recommendation on what to do makes perfect sense from what I remember. It's also pretty cool that if you really pay attention to the different descriptions from the various scenarios, a few may seem repetitive, but often there are actually some minute differences between them. That Chris was able to identify those minute differences (and even the patterns causing the repetition in the first place) and then put it all in an app for these rest of us schmucks to use and learn from--heck, I'm in awe! Thanks Chris!

RHR has done it again!. This application is probably one of the most useful of all of the techy gadgets there are available to the modern day elk hunter. When it comes to Elk hutning in the Rocky Mountains, no amount of high tech gear can help you if you don’t have a plan. Without a plan you are just hoping to get lucky. This application helps you formulate a Strategy based on a series of questions about your specific situation. It covers just about every scenario you can think of and it gives you detailed suggestions for how to approach each situation. It breaks down the time of day your hunting, whether or not you know where the elk are or not, and then gives a few possible strategies for each situation. One of my favorite features is simply the glossary of elk sounds, it gives you a list of the types of sounds and a details explanation of how it sounds, what it is for ( what are they saying) and how you should attempt to recreate that sound. Absolutely LOVE the glossary! As far as compatibility I have not had a single problem related to this app with my iPod touch.

Love it, I've used it to harvest my first TWO bull elk!. Disregard BOOYAH!22 's "Useful, but worth five bucks? **" review, it cost him less than a six-pack of his Bud Lite and he still complains, unbelievable! It's worth well more than $5, the experiences I've had because of Chris Roe are priceless. Even more valuable- use the Strategy App as a refresher to his RHR Elk Module as it was intended. If you want to be a better elk hunter and get an edge over other hunters, like BOOYAH!22, buy this app and then sign up for the Elk Module Year Membership. You'll thank me later so you're welcome in advance.

Helped me call in a bull. New to elk hunting, I followed this apps advice and was able to call a herd bull into 15yds which my wife promptly spooked.

Helped me bring them right in!. Was an unsuccessful season, but only because I apparently can't shoot straight. :-( Thanks to what I learned with this app (listening to what the sounds mean and sound like in addition to the suggested setups/calling sequences), I got shot opportunities I don't think I ever would have had otherwise. This is a great resource and it's obvious that a lot of hard work and knowledge/experience went into developing it.

Best resource for distinguishing elk sounds. This is the best and easiest resource I’ve found for telling the differences in tones and behaviors of elk. I like the videos as they provide a quiz that forces you to listen to identify.

Absolute must have for the elk hunter. Chris Roe is the pioneer of the elk-hunting app. More importantly, his work through the Elk Module at the Roe Hunting Resources website is one of the single most important tools an elk hunter can have to understand what’s going on in the elk woods and how to be successful based on the elk’s behavior. A subscription to the elk module is one of the top three things that has made me a consistently successful elk hunter. This app goes hand-in-hand with the elk module and is a great tool for practicing and learning while in the go.

Great tool. I've found app to be very handy for learning and practicing my elk calls. I listen to the sounds as I drive to work and mimic them.

Good info on calling a strategy. This is full of good info, good calling demonstrations, and all of it is well thought through and presented. The setup stuff is pretty logical but would likely be helpful for a new hunter. I highly recommend it to anyone for tuning up your calling though, easily worth the small investment.

A hunting strategy guide App???? YEP!!!. This is freakin' sweet! Half the info in here can't be bought in a single $30 book! Can't wait to use it here in the next couple weeks!!! Time to slay some Elk!

Very good for practicing calls and better understanding elk behaviors. Great app for practicing cow calls and bugles and getting an understanding of when and why they are used. The embedded videos of actual elk calling, along with Chris' demonstration calls, help with getting a feel for the change in pitch and duration of calls. Very useful when you also use the online RHR elk module - the full-lenth videos help to provide a more comprehensive picture of what's going on with the elk's behavior.

Holy Smokes!!!!. Second time elk hunting. I had a bull bugling early in the season and didn't know what to do. I LITERALLY (I'm not kidding) used this app to make moves, setup, and call him into bow range. It's all about the ASSEMBLY MEW!!!!

An essential app for elk hunters.. The layout and question asking format is great for use out in the field when hunting to help you make decisions on hunting elk. This also works well to practice and learn more about elk behavior and vocalizations. I love you you can use it without cell service so it's like having the website on hand at any point in the elk woods. This is an essential app for elk hunters.

Great information at you fingertips!. This app is great and puts a ton of elk information at your fingertips right in the field, including both the glossary of vocalization and strategy scenarios. As a newer elk hunter it is great to review vocalizations as I hear them in the field, especially the more subtle ones. Among a bunch of positive comments I can think of only two drawbacks: I wish the strategy app would suggest calling strategies (i.e. using cow v bull vocalizations) based on information I provide in addition to letting me chose which scenario I want to use. And the location of the glossary (in a small button at the bottom right before hitting start) isn’t intuitive to find at first.

Waste. This app is an absolute waste of $5. I was under the impression it had vocalizations, but nope those are on the $50 program. Its scenarios are redundant and very very basic to the point of common sense. I feel ripped off!

Surprisingly good!. As a longtime elk hunter, when my buddy brought this to camp on his phone, I shrugged it off and dismissed it. That was until we actually used it. I was shocked to see how much was in it, and that it wasn't full of BS that you so often find in "elk hunting resources" today. Most "elk hunting experts" that try to sell you something these days have to put their spin on things to try and come up with something new to sell you on. Most of the time it's junk and highly annoying. These guys didn't do that. I was impressed that the App had solid information (from my experience), a LOT of it, and made it really easy to use. Although I've been pretty successful all these years without it, I bought it because I thought it was a great tool to have as a backup for those situations where I might want an idea or two from someone that knows what they're talking about. These guys definitely do. If you're just starting out, you really ought to get it - it'll save you a lot of trial and error, and I think it'll really help you be successful. If you're a successful elk hunter already, it's up to you - it's only $10 and it's got more in it than you probably think. While one reviewer that said it was repetitive, that's why I actually liked it, and why I knew it wasn't full of BS. Different calls work in a bunch of situations, so there obviously will be some repetition in the recommendations if they were being honest about it. They were. I think their App description was pretty much right on - it has what you should do in different situations (and some of it might repeat), but it also explains why certain calls work. It's a solid app. Like I put in my title, I thought it was surprisingly good. The comment on it being pricey for what you get is ridiculous - you buy one mouth call or a bottle of wind checker and you're spending almost as much. You get way more than what you pay for in the app.
