F1 TV Comments & Reviews 2024

💸 Want to send money abroad for free?

We transfer money over €4 billion every month. We enable individual and business accounts to save 4 million Euros on bank transfer fees. Want to send free money abroad or transfer money abroad for free? Free international money transfer!

Content = excellent and immense. App = opposite.. There is so much awesome content that F1 makes available to its fans, that the sheer volume and access is what all other professional sports league should strive for. So many documentaries, shows, old races and everything else up to the detailed data in real time races. Love it on my desktop. But… the app… needs a lot of work. It can be very tough to find same content as on desktop. The playback options seems clumsy. Schedule is tough to navigate and find how to watch, especially if you like to watch Porsche SuperCup or other Formula series. This app needs A LOT more than I can describe in a reasonable amount of time. There is a ton of potential here, but the app needs to be sorted out.

The race commentary is my only complain this year 2022. I’ve had an F1 tv pro account since last racing season (2021). The app itself is fine. And during live broadcasts of the race it’s nice to have all the data and alternate on board views. My dislike about this year with F1TV is that they steered away from the international commentary and use their own team now. I don’t like it. I much prefer the international feed with Crofty and Brundle and I don’t think there is a way to change it the international feed. I know they’re trying to make the F1TV live stream feel more exclusive to those who subscribe but the energy from the commentators just doesn’t match the sky broadcast.

Cannot stream to my TV. I have had no trouble watching content on the iPad Pro as of yet, but I am unable to stream it to my Samsung TV. I get messages saying it’s unable to connect. I have no problems whatsoever streaming other video apps and content to the TV from the iPad, so I know everything’s set up correctly to do so. This is a huge disappointment, as I would think it should be able to connect and stream it, by Apple Play or whatever. This is my second go-round with F1TV. I had the same issue a couple seasons ago, leading me to cancel the subscription. I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt and try again, but I see things haven’t changed.

Improved since the beginning. This app is approaching parity with 3rd party offerings with a stable performance you can count on. That’s all you can say about it. The benefits of all the feeds and such are not the product of this app. Those are from the web streaming platform. In the presentation of that data, the app is seriously deficient. Why we have to use Multiview and other programs to get synced data on multiple fields is a glaring issue. I want to be able to PiP multiple feeds onto one or more screens. The ability to know where everyone is on the track and their tire choice and age is important to understanding the drama unfolding.

Stopped being able to AirPlay replay of events. I’ve been an F1 TV subscriber for a few years now and have LOVED it. Suddenly, I’m not able to AirPlay a replay of races or practice sessions or qualifying. It’s super frustrating. I had a group of friends coming over to watch a race yesterday and was not able to play the replay through AirPlay. Fortunately, I was able to connect my iPad to the HDMI on my TV and everything played fine and the gathering was saved. It’s just ridiculous that they stopped supporting AirPlay for replays. I’m not going to stop watching or subscribing, I just want to make the pettiness of this move known and share my frustration. Other than this I’d give 5 stars for sure.

Worst paid app ever. Please, for the love of God, do not spend money for this app. It’s not worth a subscription. It will fail, it will not work, you will get frustrated, you will get angry with Formula 1, you all want to give up following racing all together. Update Since my first review, my account has been frozen. It says I have exceeded the maximum number of devices. I have only one device. I think it’s because I left a bad review. I will no longer support F1, I will no longer watch or attend any F1 function. I can’t believe that a media giant feels the need to go to this extent to take away this app from a subscriber but wont fix the app itself.

Time table???. I’ve been mostly happy with this app but the most recent update seems to have done away with the time table. While there used to be a full time schedule of each weekends races, detailing practice, qualifying, and race times, I am no longer able to find what time each starts. You’d think that being an international sport, with people tuning in from all different countries and time zones, it would be a priority to include such a thing. For as expensive as this app is (though I happily pay it because I’m such a big fan), you’d think they could get that small thing right. Having to google times for my time zone is an annoying extra step I feel like I should not need to take.

Archived races bug. Love the app and all of its features, however I keep coming up with a bug every time I watch older archived races on the app. The issue is whenever anything interrupts the stream (when I get a low charge notification, or when I slide my iOS tab down to change brightness, or even when I leave the app for a second to search something up) each time I go back on the app or want to resume the stream the app just crashes and I have to restart the app and have to search for the stream all over again. It won’t just get back on the app where I left off. This issue does not occur for this seasons streams or live races. I am watching from an iPad Pro

Horrible app. Can’t watch without constantly having to reset after it freezes, and that’s when trying to watch live. It’s much worse if you are trying to watch a rerun which is not live. For the cost, this is a huge disappointment. For anyone who can help, it’s worse following the latest update. I normally try to project from my iphone to a samsung smart tv. Sad. Updated: Followed the procedures as discussed with support. I deleted and reinstalled the app and nothing really changed as I was watching the sprint shootout today, had to restart the broadcast numerous times. Still very annoying. Gave up after it was over and it froze again at the start of the post shootout show. I paid a lot of money to see Laura Winter live! I suspect it may be a transmission bandwidth thing too. It seems to work better during actual races and also at odd timed (for me) races. Still sad.

Airplay issues.. The first review listed indicated that Airplay issues were probably user error. As someone who did iOS support professionally for 8 years, I can guarantee you that the Airplay implementation in the F1 app is at fault. I have no other Airplay issues with other apps on any device I use. The F1 app Airplay may work for a practice session or qualifying but then the next video you watch will play on the iPhone or iPad but just spin when choosing AirPlay. Restarting the Apple TV will sometimes fix it. Restarting the phone or iPad typically does not. FWIW it seems to happen more often on the “International” feed (Sky Sports?) and more often on a race. Less so on qualifying. For the longest time I thought they were using a copy protection flag in the video to prevent Airplay for some races but now believe that it’s corrupted data that gets cached on the device. Force quiting the app doesn’t actually reset the app as it should so it’s a pain to get it to work. The real solution is to switch to the F1 AppleTV app. I don’t know when they released this but it wasn’t there last year when I looked.

Will only stream to Apple TV during live races. App normally works (kind of), but has recently stopped being able to stream to Apple TV for race replays. Live races work fine, but when you try to stream to Apple TV for any previous race, it fails. Disappointing considering how much the service costs. Also, if you delete the app off of your phone and reinstall it, it counts as another device to your total allowable devices. Do this several times and it will no longer allow you to open the app and will tell you that you have exceeded the number of allowed devices. You then have to login on a PC to your account, delete all of the allowed devices, and sign back in. Garbage. Absolute garbage. Mates, take some of the billions of dollars that F1 generates each year and spend some money on an app developer who actually knows what they are doing. Right now it’s like you hired Jen Barber from the IT Crowd to run your development.

Thank you, finally able to stream to my tv again!. Congrats to the developers, after many years of error messages and weird subscription issues, off-set by great content and access to live races the latest update of this app is now worthy of 5 stars. If you are passionate about F1 and want easy access to live races, gain valuable insights and hear compelling interviews, plus get access to historic races the content is worth the considerable cost. If you want to watch live races wherever you are and have been frustrated by the vagaries of how F1 tv broadcast rights vary from country to country this app is invaluable. Love the suggestion (see Business F1, Oct 2023) that Apple is interested to acquire worldwide broadcast right to F1 … and hoping this app goes from strength to strength.

F1 TV Client Review. Being a sport that utilizes and show cases both the best of human capacity along with the best of engineering and technical capability…..F1 TV very accurately presents these well prepared packages to us the viewing public every race weekend. These transmissions include Formula 1 and 2 and all the excitement, drama and fun that goes along with each weekend. F1 TV also brings great variety in commentaries from experience racing journalist, technical specialists and experienced race drivers. This is one app that I could never do without especially since I am a total F1 fan and automobile racing enthusiast. Thank You F1 TV 👍🏼👍🏼

Terrible search. I left the schedule to test out the search engine and it’s terrible. It never finds anything particularly the schedule. Talking about schedule, it was impossible to find on the TV version. Using the search engine yielded not found and it was just not available on the TV version. On the phone version its on the main page ( even though the search engine yields’not found’) Finding live or just finished video is clunky and sometimes extremely hard and sometimes very easy. The guy is just bad Nevertheless i gave it 4 stars because once you find them, the videos are good.

Disappointing. How many years has it been? It’s always the same complaints but it’s never fixed. Consistent Error bm2101. In the year 2023 this app still doesn’t support Picture in Picture. On about 99.9% of all streaming apps to hide the HUD (play, pause, rewind-fast forward screen) you would just tap the screen and it’ll disappear. NOPE NOT THIS APP, all the tapping does is bring the HUD back up so it’s like an infinite loop of unintentionally bringing the HUD back up, it’s annoying and counter intuitive. Instead of updating and fixing their app, you get a cookie cutter response from the devs that goes along the line of “we appreciate the feedback and will pass this along to the developer” well it’s been years with the same complaint, either they’re ignorant or worse- just don’t care.

Substandard. Buggish. Problematic. F1TV should be partner with Netflix to handle all the streaming and maybe partner with a user account specialist company to handle security and login. It’s the only way to display telemetry so they have a monopoly. And like all monopolies there’s no competition so they don’t have to work as hard as they should to deliver a quality product. I streamed just fine a week ago but now that the season officially starts I can’t even login. Not the app, not online, and tech support is responsive but they are clearly not prepared for this. The person I worked with was great but the product is the Michael Masi of apps. Following weekend I streamcast FP2 from my device to my TV since the AppleTV app won’t let you stream the world feed and that blocked all my other devices from being able to start a new season. Had no issues with FP1. Tech support again…. And not a quick fix. It’s been YEARS and they still can’t make a decent product. Focus on the sport and let the experts focus on the delivery!!!

Horrible connection issues to any tv device.. Personally I don’t understand or know how difficult it is to create an app that can connect to local devices under the same internet connection. But seeing as every single other app gets it right I don’t get how liberty media can’t just create a solid app that work at least some of the time. If I could honestly give 0 stars I would. This app is so unreliable, or rather it works 1% of the time. Only when I reset my router, turn off my phone, and restart my tv does it work after the 5th time. This is unacceptable for such an expensive app. Do not recommend, but seeing as its the only option to watch the sport I love live I’m forced to put up with it.

PAY ATTENTION DEVS. as far as i can tell the app is fine… BUT the website is TERRIBLE! since they have it restricted to certain browsers/platforms using it on an actual tv is absolutely infuriating. wanna stream it to a tv from my iphone? NOPE! stream it from my mac? nothing but GLITCHES and STUTTER! ps4 browser? NO SUPPORT! microsoft edge? even with f1 tv pro i cant watch grand prix even days after it airs. it just loads infinitely. sure i could watch it on my laptop but who wants to watch a race on a 14” screen with terrible speakers? if someone has any advice in the meantime it would be greatly appreciated. but seriously it should not be this hard to watch a race when im paying over $120 a year.

Unsure what everyone else’s issue is. I’ve had this app for a few months now after recently getting back into F1. This app while the video UI can be a little clunky at times has overall been great. I’m not sure what everyone else is talking about with stream quality and airplay issues. I personally use this app on my iPad. The quality has never been bad for me personally and I have no issues when I watch on my iPad or AirPlay it to my TV. That being said I’m unsure if my experience is in the minority or if most of the reviews here are just upset. As someone who works in IT it’s entirely possible user error is the culprit for many of these reviews. Take mine with a grain of salt but check out the app anyways and see if it works well for you - it’s free after all.

Pathetic. This app is pathetic. You have the most technically advanced cars and racing on the planet and F1 gives us this?? F1, Liberty Media, the app developers should be ashamed!! The video constantly slightly jumps ahead of the audio. Real fun to watch the start of the race when the audio is 30 seconds behind what you’re watching! If you slew the video back, it aligns,,,,,,but only for a few mins when the video jumps again and is misaligned. Lots of cool features, but all are extremely frustrating when the basics don’t work, especially for the price. Customer service is a joke and non-existent. Ridiculous!!

trying to force users to stop buying on App Store. UPDATE: After 10 days (and another update), app still doesn't work, and refuses to *Restore Purchase". I explained to Apple and they have refunded my purchase. Apple should completely remove the app from the App Store too, as F1 have apparently disabled "Restore Purchase" (at least for monthly renewal attempts) and seek to divert us to their website. *****REVIEW: The F1 sales team is dishonest, in my opinion. I renewed this app two days ago. I paid money to the Apple App Store to do so. However, the "Restore Purchases" button no longer works. It says it is "retrieving purchases" but then says "try second flow to restore". That is where it stops working completely. After doing all the usual logout, re-download stuff to no avail, I contacted "Support Chat". But they said the app can't Restore Purchases and tried to convince me to stop using the Apple App Store and sign up directly with them. And their phone line support simply hung up on me after I described the steps to prove the failure. It all seems disturbingly dishonest and unethical. I am distressed by this. Sorrowful. No wonder this app has such low ratings.

A Reliable Streaming App for every F1 Race. You’d think making a good streaming app would be the norm by now, but major players out there are still struggling to make a consistent reliable streaming app. Luckily F1 has succeeded and it is so critical that you can enjoy every race when it happens, reliably and consistently. I’ve used the app via 5G, LTE, good wifi, and slower wifi and I’m able to watch. It does a great job adjusting the quality to fit your bandwidth. Love the multiple view options, love the highlights and tech talks. Announcers are fantastic. Well worth the price to enjoy the race anywhere you go.

Horrible App Constant Spoilers. I don’t know about the rest of the world but sometimes I can’t sit down to watch the race exactly when it starts. With the races being pretty long, sometimes I’ll try and watch the race when it’s already halfway over. I really enjoy racing in general and like to see the whole race. So when I open up this app to try watch the race, what happens? The race will open at its current LIVE time stamp. What if I didn’t want any spoilers? Too bad there it is. Okay fine, I’ll try and not look at the standings and rewind it real quick. Well, let’s hope it doesn’t buffer, because every time it buffers it jumps to LIVE again. You were 30 minutes behind? Too bad. Completely ruins the experience for me. Absolutely unacceptable Formula One with all its money hasn’t implemented a feature to avoid these issues.

AirPlay doesn’t work, poor quality video,. I’ve had this app for a couple years. This year I’ve been struggling with stream quality. It’s not my network as all other streaming services play in their highest quality with no buffering. And don’t get me started on AirPlay…. 99% of the time it does NOT WORK. If, by some miracle, it does work. You mustn’t pause it or move the slider forward or reverse for fear of it having an error “bm2101” and not working again. This app needs to be considerably cheaper in its current state. Obviously the money isn’t going to the app dev’s. Please please PLEASE fix this app, it could be such a wonderful thing for all of us fans.

Good app with just a couple small annoyances. When you tap the screen to bring up the play controls, it takes a certain amount of time for them to disappear. They should change it so you can tap the screen again to make the playback controls disappear. This is how every other app does it. The practical issue with this is that when you rewind to watch something that you missed, the playback controls stay up and are obstructing the screen, so you have to rewind double so that the playback controls disappear in time to see the thing you missed. Also, please add Picture in Picture!

I should have read the reviews. Purchased the subscription so I can replay it when I get home. Came home to watch the replay through my Apple TV and it’s glitchy. That’s super frustrating. On my phone it’s work. But the whole point of me getting the subscription is to come home and watch it on tv with my speakers on full volume. I’m not trying to watch the races on my phone. I wish I read the reviews before I purchased it. I’ll give it a few races. If it doesn’t get fixed I’m canceling my subscription. If this app would work properly it would be fire

If they would try harder, the app would be chefs kiss. I got F1tv pro, thinking i would be able to watch a lot of racing. and of course, i did. Many many many full races in the catalog. But when it comes to the races, some seasons only have six (6!) races. Exiting races yes, but sometimes the excitement is the NUMBERS! sometimes im in the mood to kickback and watch a certain race at a certain track. go to try and find it and it’s just one race and and extend highlights. I want to pay to watch racing. a full grand prix. other than that pretty good content. my search bar doesn’t work and the auto race suggestion just plays the most recent race. if they actually worked on the app and gave the customers the opportunity to voice feedback and recommend more one off uploads.

Subscription renewal does not work. I’ve had F1TV Pro since 2020. Was excellent until start of 2023 season when subscription renewal no longer works. F1 insists the credit card is “declined by your bank” except that it isn’t and when you call your card issuer they can see that F1 has not even attempted to process a transaction. Your card issuer offers to do a 3 way call with “the merchant” i.e. F1 if you have a customer service phone number for them. Unfortunately F1 no longer has a support phone for F1TV Pro. There is now only live chat and email. Both the live chat and email responses you get when you tell them you have contacted the card (3x in my case!) and problem is entirely on F1’s end of it, they just parrot “I see here your bank is declining the transaction”. Over and over and over. The chat is polite about it (claims to be a human) but the email replies are quite arrogant and insulting. So don’t waste your time, they have now completely ruined what used to be a truly outstanding service. Really sad how it’s suddenly like this and F1 does not give a hoot, won’t own up to the fact that something is wrong with malfunctioning transactions on their end of it.

Just okay, UX needs improvement. The most recent update to the homepage is terrible. It also seems to change all the time and is filled with stuff most users don’t need to have on the front page. I would much rather see the upcoming race schedule, race results, etc. Maybe news that’s relevant to the sport? I really don’t need to have years old documentaries and three week old debriefs pushed to me on the homepage… On the positive side: Overall the player is good and it never totally crashes on me, even with limited data. Quality is great when connected to strong Wi-Fi. I love that I can access old races and there’s never ending content to choose from. I like to see these highlighted from time to time.

Scammy app deserving of 0 star. It’s criminal how unreliable and unstable this app is. It’s so bad, I hope Apple gives us the option to give apps like this no star or some way to clearly warn others to avoid this sham. The experience is akin to Russian roulette: you never know when it’s going to ruin your day, but you can bet your subscription it will. Every app has bugs, but the best developers, at the very least, provide solutions to problems and aren’t completely clueless to why errors keeping popping up. What does BM2001 mean? Beats me. BM2301? Who knows. How about the red circle icon? Your guess is as good as mine. For an app intended to enable more people access and enjoy F1, this garbage app—devoid of the spirit of excellence and passion—feels like it was built by developers who are not F1 fans. Perhaps, therein lies the problem.

This is great!. I know we are here to review the app. It’s quite good actually. I’ve followed Major Legue Baseball and that app all had quite a lot of issues. This app works great. I really enjoy it. The money for it was well worth it. This is for whoever might be reading on the other end. Please don’t change any of the shows. Palmers review of the race, Tech Talk with Sam, the presenters on race day(I didn’t call them out by name because I didn’t want to miss anyone or misspell their name), it is all great. Please don’t change anything. The shows are a breath of fresh air. More Americans are noticing the sport. Don’t change anything trying to win more of us over. You guys are doing a fine job!

Very expensive, very unreliable, overall heartbreakingly disappointing and frustrating. I am in love with this sport. It’s why I keep paying for this service. It’s my only access to the sport as an American. Between the atrocious quality issues most of the time, the frequency of error codes and connection disruptions, and the infrequency of having the honor and privilege to cast the events onto my tv, it’s really maddening and quite disheartening really. The sport makes an ungodly amount of money, especially from the American market, and yet all we are given in return is this buggy unreliable app that we pay a sizable sum to use. I’m forced to watch it on my tiny phone screen more than half the time because they seem to decide to either allow or prevent us from casting it onto our tv’s on a whim. Most of the time I’m watching it on 240p-540p max even with great internet connection. If I didn’t love this sport, I would have canceled this a long time ago. I think the suits in charge know this full well and rely on our love of the sport and lack of alternative access to it to justify both investing the bare minimum into the service and the refusal to make it any better. I wish I could share with you a photo of what it looks like when I cast it to my brand new Samsung OLED tv. It’s like the old distorted color bar screen of tvs of old. Remember those?

How does a media company allow this garbage app?. This app hasn’t worked right since it was launched. I have emailed F1 support numerous times with my issues. For $100 streaming subscription per year you would think they would figure out a way to get stable app performance. Lots of errors pop up attempting to stream. Be prepared for “the current network connection maybe effecting your experience. Please check your connection and try again.” This is a constant error, that’s hasn’t been fixed in numerous updates and has nothing to do on the user side. The only way to fix it is to completely delete the app and reinstall. You used to be able to sign out and sign back in to fix it and get the streaming to work again. However, with subsequent updates it’s been made worse to where you have to go as far as to delete the app and start over by re installing and signing in all over again. This error occurs after about every two races you watch. So it’s an incredible annoyance.

Multiview Needed!. I have to say the content from this app is great and I love the pre and post race shows. A lot of good about this app. But the fact that you haven’t added multiview is mind blowing. On one screen, we should be able to watch the race (pick which broadcast ((f1 or Croftycast 😉)) and choose drivers and stats that we want to see like the timings and such. What stings more is that a couple of years ago, you took away the “battle feature” where we could watch two drivers at the same time and never added something to replace it. Gotta say not having multiview is a big miss here. I’ve been wondering if I really care enough to continue paying for this service. I probably will… but multiview would make it a no-brainer, must have for F1.

It’s A Great App Just A Few Bugs. I recently upgraded from Access to Pro and it wasn’t working but it turns out the app recognizes your initial subscription and must be cancelled first to then upgrade. Obviously you get to see the races problem is it does get a little tricky when AirPlay is enabled. If you close the app and restart your TV/Monitor it resets the connection and works perfectly fine. The support team is actually really good they have chat support and they respond very quickly! Great App hopefully they can work out those bugs on the developer side but all in all perfect for the mobile F1 FANS !

English language bias for Hamilton, Mercedes & British Drivers. The app and coverage is fantastic … love it. HOWEVER, the constant and consistent bias across all the announcers except a few such as Button is grossly unprofessional. The English speaking audience is not exclusively British (US, Canada, Australia, … and everybody else who does not have a dedicated language feed) and the bias leads to bad commentary for the events that make up the drama of the races and the sport. The announcers completely losing their senses on the possibility of a Hamilton win (improbable) with the late safety car in Silverstone while ignoring Perez (certain threat) was embarrassing to watch. Ignoring the rules to assert that Russel was given a bad penalty in Austria was sad to listen to. Have someone watch the past events with a critical eye and it is alarming. I tolerate the bias on the English language cable feed provided by SkySports, they’re audience is British, but NOT from the F1 app. You need to either hire announcers that are unbiased or instruct your team to pull it together. I now listen in French instead to get better reporting on what is actually happening in the race instead of announcers fantasizing about what Hamilton is doing. It is embarrassing but fixable, do so!

It’s fine.. The app is fine but there are a lot of modern features missing. The big one no Apple TV Now Watching integration, so no show tracking, race notifications, or exciting event notices. Then another big one is on the phone or iPad when you bring up the pause/play overlay you can’t just click an empty part of the screen to close it, you have to wait for the menu to time out. These are things that are fine to leave off of a small operation’s app, but F1 is not small, so this kind of stuff is honestly not acceptable. Not that this review will convince them to fix it, but it’s annoying that they don’t want to offer their customers the best experience possible.

“Network Issue”. It’s a bit disingenuous to have a message pop up implying that my inability to watch a replay of the recent race is due to my network connection, especially when I’m able to watch the post-race livestream as well as all races from past weekends. F1 TV, please take care of these “network issues” as soon as possible. Or, alternatively, simply make it downloadable for offline viewing so I can know for a fact when I go to watch a race it will actually work. At the very least, please take some responsibility for the network issues happening on your side. Maybe start simple by changing the messaging in app. Next, please try checking your own network connection. If that doesn’t work, I recommend unplugging and plugging in your router. IF THAT doesn’t work, maybe rethink charging fans for a product that doesn’t operate as promised.

Okay. It’s a good app but if I try to watch a race on mobile data it is horrible quality. Like 240p back to 1080 and switching constantly. I don’t have an issue at all with Netflix HBO or any other streaming services. I think it should have a quality setting where you can choose the streaming quality and let it buffer every once in a while or pre load the content when paused or something rather than the app trying to optimize a better performance over quality when you have slower speeds. Just my opinion and hopefully it gets heard! If I have really good service or Wi-Fi the app is good and I would give it 5 stars, but since I can watch other streaming services all day at 2160p and I have issues with this one it is 3 stars.

How does this still not work?. Just make it work. Keep removing complexities until you get it to just work. The mobile browser stream used to work perfectly. But they disable that. So if you were going to live and die by your mobile app, just keep it simple and make it work. And then slowly roll out whatever things you want. But test, test, test and test some more before you roll those things out. If you can’t make it work, don’t release it. Just make an app that works. Unbelievable. Some random guy on Reddit made his own Apple TV app for F1 TV. And you know what? It works. It just works. One guy. In his spare time. And it works. Unbelievable. Fire everyone on your app team and just hire that one guy. He will make it work. Until then, just reenable streaming live races in a mobile browser. Because that works. Until you decided to not allow it. I swear to Horner I’m going to go back to pirating video streams of F1 because that works better than the official app...

By Racer's for F1 Fans. I've been an F1 fan since my first race in Long Beach 1977. I instantly found the sport captivating. I've traveled to many races over the years, but now I just watch everything I can on TV. I was losing interest a few years ago and almost gave up following the series. The last couple of years has rekindled my passion for the sport. F1TV is a vast improvement over any network coverage in the USA. Picture and sound quality are top notch as expected. I had a slight issue signing in at first, but it's been resolved and streaming experience worked flawlessly for Bahrain. The pre and post race shows are exactly what I want available as an F1 fan. Will's grid walk talking about the cars is what I've been missing all these years... I signed up in time to watch the Bahrain testing sessions. The in depth information provided by Sam Collins and others make this a very worthwhile subscription for me. I'll never go without F1TV again. I LOVE IT!

Pretty bloody bad.. UPDATE. Now I can’t even watch the replays on my iPhone on this trash app. It’s telling me there might be a network error, my network is working fine. This app has gone even more downhill since they recently changed the video replay setup. You can’t even get it to go full screen anymore when using it on my phone through the TV, at least you had that option previously. Who wants to watch a race with a big black border around a quarter of the TV?! The controls are just bad all round, it’s so hard to pause and fast forward etc… I’m pretty annoyed I paid for this garbage app, especially when I can get replays for free. This app needs fixing so bad, especially with how much you are making people pay for it. Wish I could get a refund! I can’t believe it actually has 3.3 stars… And now it’s only at 1 and a half stars, bahahahaha. What a joke. $80.

Horrible App, Many Issues. From a content standpoint, this app is great if you’re an F1 fan. This ends the good things I have to say. From a functionality standpoint, this app is garbage. If you’re planning on using this to cast to a TV, don’t get your hopes up as it doesn’t cast correctly about 60% of the time. This is with both Airplay and through a Chromecast. It just doesn’t work right. If you’re planning on watching on your phone, it works, but prepare for an archaic video player with not easy skip forward/skip backward controls, no record of what you watched, no “continue watching” feature if you take a break mid-race, just no intuitiveness whatsoever. Shame on F1TV for putting out such an awful app for a “premium” service. If you have any other way to watch F1, don’t waste your money on these guys who clearly don’t care about their product.

App needs major work. App won’t let you stream or directly connect to HTMI Port to screen share. Streaming hasn’t worked since 2021, and Screen sharing through hdmi port stopped during Imola 2022. Push people to pay for an app sub and not allow them to use the app in an efficient way. Don’t provide the app for LG TV Marketplace. You want people to watch F1 world wide but don’t allow an app to work…. Smart. Also, on a mobile device you aren’t allowed to watch on website. Fix these issues ASAP. Allow people to share the race on the tv so friends can gather and enjoy the sport which in turn brings in more money and fans.

Disappointed. As thrilled as I am to be able to watch the formula 1 races - and all events preceding it, this app leaves a lot to be desired. No way to change the password which means I’m stuck requesting a temporary password every time I get logged out or have to reinstall the app. And unlike EVERY OTHER APP, unable to use faceID to log in. That should be some basic improvement anyway. Then there is a disconnect between videos. Most videos work well when you hook up the phone to the TV via HDMI cable, but then sporadically you’ll get audio but no video. On the last occasion I was able to call them for help, was kindly received and assured that the technical glitch would be solved before the race the next day - and it was. This time sitting on the chat with the Tech and they’re checking my TV, my phone, asking me to delete and reinstall the app, only to find the same problem and that I’ve been disconnected from the chat. Just horrible. Expensive app for such basic technical issues.

Unreliable. It’s a frustrating app that sometimes works right. We’ve spent dozens of times trying to see a race or qualifying race that buffers or just doesn’t come in at all. The app needs a lot of work and when you try and get some help you’re directed to an email with little or no response. When they stopped letting you access the app directly from the TV they never even told us. We literally spent days trying to get it to work, several emails later we were told that they aren’t streaming through the tv and you have to cast from your phone, they couldn’t have sent an email about this? I face this app every time with a long, sad sigh.

Best app ever. I honestly love everything about the app. The ability to do so many things before during and after a live race is incredible. This app has so many other variables that even when there are no races on a weekend there is still tons of things you can watch or read. Seriously hats off to the developers of this app. Worth every penny absolutely one of the best apps ever. Thank you to F1 TV team. Let’s all say a big congratulations to Max Verstapen for his 3rd title win in a row. Not to worry My driver Louis will be back for another soon if not him a Mercedes teammate.

Scam app and subscriptions. Earlier I used to airplay from F1TV app to my smart TV, now it’s not supported with recent updates. Support team says Airplay only works with Apple TV. Why would I pay premium prices when you don’t support Smart TV. Also F1TV doesn’t play video in mobile browsers. Total scam!!! Another issue; The subscription keeps saying invalid card for every credit card I used. Only allows to subscribe via Apple Pay. TO APPLE SUPPORT: Apple please take note and make sure to take necessary actions, as they’re using your platform to host a junk app. You may need to verify where/how they’re processing credit card details. I ‘m pretty sure, F1 app team doesn’t care about reviews, if so they would have fixed the issues or atleast clarify the same. Have reported to Apple, I guess everyone SHOULD REPORT THIS APP TO APPLE TEAM.

Doesn’t Work, Overpriced, Ineffective Support. I had a good maybe 3-4 weeks where it worked at least well enough to be usable. I use AirPlay to watch it on my tv, or used to. Out of nowhere it’s decided to refuse to work. Switch to AirPlay and the app just freaks out and flips back and forth without playing anything until it says network error. Nothing about my set up has changed. Devices and network are all more than capable and up to date. Support is woefully ineffective, passes you off from person to person asking for the same information repeatedly and ends up insisting it’s either your network or Apple’s fault despite AirPlay working perfectly fine in literally every other app that uses it. $80/yr is outrageous for such an inconsistent, clunky app that actually REMOVES support from devices as it updates. I used to use it on the Xbox web browser, can’t do that anymore. Deleting this garbage as soon as my subscription is up.

Better than Reviews now. I was quite Hesitant to subscribe to F1 TV after looking at the reviews of this app. After finally deciding to roll the dice on it I can say that app is not as bad, in my experience as other reviews state. I have watched the practices this weekend with only one hiccup and that could have been on my home network and not the app. I watched an entire practice on my phone and iPad Air with no issues, and I watched day 2 and 3 on my LG C1 tv with airplay with no issue either so those are the only platforms I can speak of but I would say that my experience is vastly different from the top reviews.

App doesn’t work. I’ve 2 Subscriptions both don’t really work. Online help is useless. It’s a joke

Don’t waste your money on this app. Quite possibly the worse sport app ever made. Live streaming never works. I think I’ve managed to catch a couple of Free Practice sessions all season through the app. Miss the race because you’ve been out and about on a Sunday and want to watch it a few hours later? Well, you won’t be able to do that either. Might work a few days later when no one else is using it, only to wonder if you’re looking at a McLaren or a Ferrari because the video quality is so bad. Please, don’t bother. Save your money and your stress levels.

Love it. First time today just great vision is spectacular cant wait for the start in Melbourne

Ripoff. Useless in Australia for watching live F1. Signed up and of course the money was taken , and THEN you find out that it does not work due to tv rights. Did not say so before payment was made. Thieves !! Rip off.

Terrible resolution!. The resolution is so, so bad, it’s even worse than my Kmart cheapest camera!

Useless. Can't get any up to the minute results, no live TV, can't restore purchase, can't cancel subscription. Fraud

Abysmal video quality. I have the app on my Apple TV and two iPads. The picture is always pixelated (I mean it’s constantly pixelated - it never clears up at all) and it freezes up every five minutes no matter where I watch. It’s not a problem with my internet - I never have any issues streaming on Kayo, Netflix or Stan - and I have the latest OS installed so not sure what the issue is. Also I can’t turn on the commentary on the Apple TV so it’s just pixelated video with no talking. So disappointed.

Not LIVE!. Get a vpn and watch the actual live action. This app and the rest of their “official” apps only have replays

Rubbish!. First race of the season and qualifying is not even available. What a waste of money.

Terrible. Get Kayo instead. Can’t even watch full replays of qualifying or other stuff. Like so stupid for a sport that is on at the other side of the world for me and I can’t watch live. And they make you pay for this terrible service. Can I get a refund? What a joke.

No replay of entire race. Missed the race due to it being at 4am and was hoping to watch the replay after work. But there is no full replay available only highlights which is poorly put together.

Useless. Not being able to watch races due to exclusive licensing with Foxtel / Kayo in Australia is a joke. And expecting people to pay $40/year to not even get race content is an absolute ripoff. Get your act together and stop treating fans with such disrespect. I would happily pay for F1TV pro but instead you create a lose-lose situation where I get stuck watching dodgy streams and you get no money from me at all.

Mr tulip. Poor app. Poor user interface, pretty bad pictures. No reason for such bad quality.

Video Quality is Horrible. Always pixelated. ALWAYS. 100mb connection and every other streaming app works perfectly, except the F1 TV app. Absolutely hopeless…..

Garbage. Picture quality switches between clear and near unusable every few minutes. No it ain’t my connection. Gig fibre internet and Netflix and Disney stream crystal clear with zero issues.

Doesn’t work. Won’t let me watch the races or any other content

Live. You can’t watch the race live and that’s why I got the app I love the app it’s good but just not watching it live brings it down for me not worth the money

Broken sign in. Login prompt non responsive when sign in button is pressed.

Poor value for Aussies. Really need to offer a discount for Aussies who cannot watch live due to Fox having exclusive rights. That and at least offer a delayed telecast of the whole race the next day.

Please Fix the Quality. The App is overall good but… please fix the quality of the videos, they are clear for 5 seconds then they are very blurry.

If I could give this 0 stars I would. Airplay: broken Streaming: low quality Price: expensive Verdict: don’t bother. Just pirate the streams.

Now live video streaming. This subscription is a Waste of time and money as far as live video streaming goes. I would not recommend unless you eat sleep dream about F1

Feel ripped off - apprach with caution. Got the F1 TV subscription in Australia. Come qualifying I tried to watch. Only to learn that I cannot watch qualifying live - only after “a delay”: no idea how long that will be. In order to watch live, I need another subscription - from Foxtel - which comes at double the cost of the F1 TV subscription. Why pay for the “home of F1” if it’s not the home of F1? Read carefully, check what you’re subscribing to. I understand it’s all about money and licensing, but this is silly. Was a subscriber in Europe for years and never had any of this “you need another subscription” nonsense.

Be aware. This app and service will allow you to watch f1 live races, just be aware of this. This service is pretty useless in my opinion.

No live F1 races in Australia. Cancelled my subscription less than an hour after signing up, no live F1 coverage in Australia!

Where are the live sessions???. The dumbest app ever! Can’t see how to get to Lice sessions!!!! I am pay I for this app!!’

DO NOT BUY-TERRIBLE QUALITY VIDEO. Be warned, do not buy this app. Video quality is appalling and substandard. App for Apple TV is the same, complete waste of money.

Needs serious work. This App is more unreliable then Ricciardo!

Pointless. Like most users, struggling with bad lag to the “pointless” of running. If you then add in the rights in some countries I spend more time trying to dial in a vpn that will let me watch only to be derailed by the lag. Well done developers or analysts who obviously don’t use the app.

F1 TV Pro not available for Australia.. Which is ridiculous considering I’m in Sydney yet NZ has F1 TV Pro which is in closer to me in proximity than most Australian states & Liberty Media still choose to screw over Australian F1 fans in favour of that sweet sweet Murdoch Foxtel money. What’s worst is NZ residents have spark sports (foxtel equivalent) & if you’re in NZ & already a Spark subscriber, You get F1 TV pro included. F1 TV Pro has live care/race telemetry, individual live cameras from each car, the main race & all of that can be switched between or you can use a tablet as a 2nd screen to the main race…we miss out on all of that in Australia*. *User Subscription Experience for Australians is Very Poor Needlessly.

Please don’t get this. What a waste of money! In aus you can’t even watch the race! Garbage

Total let down. I paid for a year to find out we can’t even watch the current race. Pathetic! I want my money back!

2021 stuff in the 2022 race category. Ok this is just dumb and there’s no search bar although it dose have good benefits like a onboard camera… if you can find the newest race, it’s all highlights for gods sake I want to watch a race not highlights

Terrible video quality. I purchased this app as an annual subscription. Frankly the video quality was unwatchable. I have a gigabyte internet connection and all I got was a blocky pixelated mess. I have requested a refund from apple.I was so looking forward to seeing all the old races. Such a disappointment.

Practice. I expected to be able to watch the complete practice session on replay as I find this part very interesting , and as I am paying for I would like to see it add. Thank you.

Misleading information. App looks good in the store but you can’t even watch the race live or get any data even though it says you can on the App Store. MAKE IT VISIBLE FOR PEOPLE IN AUSTRALIA THAT YOU CANNOT VIEW ANYTHING LIVE!!!! Thanks for taking my $65.

Highlights package.. It’s taking too long to get the whole race, or even the 30 min grab, available; and 7 minutes is useless!!! Not what I paid for, but better than nothing which is what channel 10 gives us in Australia😡 Cheers.

Disappointing Experience - Australia. “Experience everything on the F1 TV app!” Except experience no live video. Only discovered after subscribing and unable to find any live content. Disappointing experience and could have been made clearer.

F1 TV Pro Availability. Can’t justify giving the app more than one star until F1 TV Pro is available in Australia. I understand the broadcast rights are the issue here but essentially one company controls what goes into that contract and that’s F1/Liberty Media. Next time, make sure F1 TV Pro is available everywhere and make other providers compete with this app/service. Because given the option I’d much rather use this app and F1 TV Pro

Rubbish. I used to be able to VPN into my home country which they have now cracked down on. No refund for the just started subscription either even though they changed the software. The customer support is inflexible. I really wanted to pay for this content but now have to go back to the pirated streams & downloads. So long!

You can’t even watch the race. Tried to stream the race live and it just shows you a map of what’s happening not the actual race. So disappointed

Talk about overselling and under delivering. Pls do not bother with this if you are from Australia and have Fox Sports. Got an email re this service and it sounded amazing- once you sign it, it seems like stale content and poor UX. Delivers nothing like what the advertising for it says.

Money and time wasted. The app does not allow you to purchase Pro subscription, only offering Access which doesn’t give anything valuable. After upgrading to Pro the app doesn’t recognise it and support isn’t able to assist.

Failed to restore the purchase :-(. Hi I subscribed to F1 TV Pro, however the app failed to restore the purchase it gets stuck in “trying second flow to restore” screen. Therefore I am unable to use the app.

No idea of UX. Does not remember which video you were watching last. Doesn’t even know what the next video in a series is after you finish one - shows relative videos of everything but the next one. It’s like the devs were trying to make it hard. When I resume a vid I was watching it doesn’t remember where I was up to either. I used this in Aus a couple of years ago and it was terrible, but put it down to teething issues and new app. No excuses any more, team. Simple things aren’t that hard.

Worst experience ever. After 10-15 seconds the video freezes and can only hear commentary. I mailed f1 about two months back they said they have escalated it to the developers and I haven’t heard from them nor the issue is resolved. Wasted 3 months of subscription already and can’t even watch a single minute of footage.

Hard to navigate. It’s hard to navigate

Awful. Total waste of money. Limited content. Terrible quality video, 360p at best most of the time, video randomly freezes and have to jump back and forwards to make it play again, no track/ambient sound on replays, only commentary which is weird. Disappointed.

Video quality. The quality of the footage is the most jumpy thing I’ve ever witnessed. One second it’s 1080p then it’s 360p and back and forth. Then with the archive races, everytime the app is closed and it’s reopened, the whole race restarts which is extremely annoying.

Doesn’t Recognise Subscription. I’ve got a F1 subscription but the app doesn’t seem to recognise it, and won’t let me watch any of the videos. I would recommend finding a better app rather than this one. Live content in Australia is only available through Fox sports or Kayo, but race replays for this seasons previous GP’s aren’t available through this app either.

What an increase!!!. 79.99 to 99.99… not an inflation increase!! If at least the AirPlay streaming was working properly! Hope the content will be as good as the price is high! Many years paying and never got the AirPlay properly functioning or having access when I travel :( Do better!! :(

Meh. If the streaming quality would actually work, I’m sure this app would be amazing. As it is, if you want to see pixelated blurry hot messes even though your Internet speed is good, this is the app for you.

I can’t open schedule with my phone. That close the app

Good, stream switcher needs improvement.. When I start to cast to my tv I can’t change what feed it is anymore. Hard to work around.

Bug. Hello I luv the app but there’s a bug about the schedule , if we select to see just the schedule for F1 the app closed .. I did luv the schedule the way it was before the updated .

Mobile app that requires wifi?. It’s disappointing there still hasn’t been a “select stream quality” feature added to this app. To me the point of a mobile app is so I can watch when I’m away from home/work. This is basically not feasible as only watching a few minutes will eat up hundreds of MB of data when not using wifi as the app will always try for highest quality by default. It would be nice to have this feature added for the 2024 season.

Glitchy. When working, this app is great. Unfortunately way too many reliability issues (BM2101 errors).

I like the app when it works. This app is so much better than watching the races with ads. Sky team is great to listen to. However this app struggles to stream live over AirPlay to a TV. It is a basic functionality that can ruin race weekends since you'll have to watch it on a teeny phone instead of a TV. Error BM2101 kind of makes you wonder if you can deal with the ads to watch on a TV

Very nice app where’s the ITALIAN LANGUAGE!. Im in love whit this app but the only thing I highly suggest is to put the commentary language in Italian! please!!!! 🙏🏻

F1 is great but. It’s no fun watching one guy destroy the rest race after race. I super love f1 but we gotta level the playing feild

Airplay wont work on the apple app on my Samsung TV. I am a 3 years paying costumer(80$ us per year)It used to work perfectly. However, since maybe 2 moths. It work 1 time on 4 and now, it just doesn’t work at all.🤬 I see many negative reviews because of the same issues and you just dont fix it.👎 Fix it otherwise i wont renew my subscription.👎

Won’t open. Since the new update, I’ve been unable to open the app, it just crashes immediately.

Better than TSN. TSN is a joke and while the app has its faults it’s better than watching 15% of the race in a small box with the sound of commercials! And TSN doesn’t show FP1 or FP3

Résolution. Pas encore la 4k

Great. Broadcasts all the live sessions for a f1 gp weekend, really great compared to the poor showings tsn put us through for years. Would be great to get more of the archive races missing from 1990-2000’s.

New way to display the schedule. The new way to display the schedule is not better in my opinion I have to scroll left and right to view all. before the vertical aspect of the phone made it all visible at a glance And this information is not available in n the smart tv app so what os the point? Also if more than 3 session in a day it adds a column...compounding the problem. Also the length of the session is gone...and no extra details on tap of a session.

The best F1 App Ever love it !!,. I have the app for last five years and is the best thing ever happened. I can watch it whenever I want how I want. End it just works.

Cellphone and tablet. Could we please have an update so we could zoom to fit screen when watching? Thanks

Great app but need a really good internet connection. Everything going to the pre season practice to after race/qualif show, but as soon as your connection is a bit slower, quality is poor, like 480p, and sometime it doesn’t even want to load, keep saying "a problem occure with the stream" switch to LTE and everything working fine.

3 years…fix the AirPlay already. Title says it all. I get error BM2001 anytime I try to airplay whether that be from my phone or iPad. Other streaming apps connect fine. Would be great to finally be able to watch a race on the tv.

Picture in picture. Great overall but doesn’t support the picture in picture mode. The races can be viewed french but it would be great to have more content in french.

Good, but…... Would it have been that difficult to put a weekend schedule on there somewhere? So I have to pit stop at a website to look at the times for the various events of the weekend, and then go to your app to watch. A bit silly. Like forgetting to put on all 4 wheels. Bono, my wing is gone!!!!

AirPlay doesn’t work. Constantly disconnects from iPad to tv. Seems to be hit or miss but mostly miss.

Sometimes it works 2/5 times maybe.. Its clunky. I can’t airplay it to my tv most of the times from my phone. It disconnects with an error message BM2102. Its an ok app, but when I want it to work most is when it doesn’t work. I pay enough money per year for F1 TV that I should be able to watch it when I want to. To fix the message you have to delete the app redownload it and sign in. It might work once after that then you have to do it all over again. That was the fix from technical. It’s quite unacceptable if you ask me.

Decent but app admin needs improvement. Good content, great coverage, fulfills its mission as a sporting app. HOWEVER the connection can be flaky at times, requiring viewers to sign in well ahead of a race event to make sure they actually get online to watch it. 2024 versions seem better but are still somewhat unreliable in this way. Next, it is extremely annualized that F1 instantly revokes access for old apps, forcing updates without notice. This happened before Bahrain 2024 where I was trying to cast to my TV. Unfortunately I had to download a new version of the app, while trying to beat the clock to have it installed (and pray it works) before the race start. BTW the new GUI is less intuitive than the one in use until mid-2023. Late 2023 GUI wasn’t great either.

Starting to get rich….. With the latest price increase ($99.99 before tax) and the frequent blackout races, hardly worth it anymore…. Unable to watch live last year in US, UK and Australia.

Worth the subscription but the app doesn’t function well. The app has had a problem for years with being able to unpause after pausing and remembering the position in the video. Each time you pause, you can almost guarantee it will forget the position, causing you to need to restart the video from the start and remember where you were. Sometimes when resuming after pausing, the feed will jump back to live rather than where the video was paused. This has spoiled the outcome of multiple races fo me. At the start of each new season, I hope for an update but it yet again has not been fixed.

AirPlay no longer works. Fix the AirPlay issues. Worked perfectly for so long now barely works.

Best of the Best. Thank you F1 Family

Terrible UX and reliability. The app will autoplay random reruns instead on the next part. Also all the weekend there was cuts and interruptions in the feed. I have a yearly subscription. (Update 2023) let’s hope in 2024 the app will tell viewer when stuff start. Instead of having to guess or check elsewhere. If I open the app I want to immediately know when the next live is. And what are the one at least for the weekend I haven’t watched yet. 2 stars because it’s better that the local broadcast.

Won’t let me watch. I purchased the f1 tv pro monthly and gave it a day and it wouldn’t let me watch anything and kept telling me to go and purchase a subscription which I alr had. And when I tryed restore purchase it said no new purchases found . Not happy about spending money and not getting anything in return

Solo falta Lobato. Estaría mucho mejor poder escuchar Antonio Lobato

Can’t Airplay to TV. Would be great if I could use this app to actually watch the race on my tv but anytime I try to use airplay I get error BM2101. This was an issue last year but most of the times I could get it to work. This year I have not been able to stream anything to my TV whether live or pre recorded. Very disappointing to pay $100 a year and not be able to watch the F1 on the big screen.

Continue Wathing list. Unable to remove video from « continue watching » list. I text support without succes, now I have two in this list…

Thanks for that. I have yet to use this app, I’m sure it does a lot of good but there’s still no app available to download on your TV? I’m not excited to rely on AirPlay to project it from my phone - maybe look into that one, guys. 3 stars because the “free trial” immediately charged me $8. I’m in no financial struggle, but really..?

Error code bm2101 again in 2024🤦🏻🤦🏻. Here we are a new season and still the app doesn't work properly error code bm 2101 Should've called this app error code bm2101🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻 rarely works properly. Fire everyone working on this app and restart from the beginning

Connecting issues. Will not connect to my Apple TV for streaming!!!

when it works it’s great. When the app actually works it’s awesome! However it hardly ever wants to actually work. I’ve given up on trying to watch any of the races live now as it’s constant buffering issues. But even now trying to watch race replays the app continuously fights me. If it doesn’t improve in the coming weeks I’ll just have to cancel my subscription all together.

Price up?. 20% up. A little to much I Belice. Hopefully service gets much better. It was my favourite app until now

4K. Ya la app tiene muchos años,sin embargo no a llegado el 4K. No está ni en la app no para PC

You’re the best. I had a couple glitches during the Bahrain gp but this is my favourite app of all time and the cover age is great

Casting. Casting on my sony tv always lagging every 20 sec it annoying

Laggy and live sessions don’t always start!. $100/year, there’s a bunch of lag. Specially when casting on tv. Worked for a few seconds and then started buffering. Also could not connect when tried to watch live race. It connected eventually but missed the race start. Unacceptable for the money. And in case the developers want to reply my internet isn’t fast enough, let me tell you, it absolutely is.

Needs Picture in Picture option!!. This app is great for watching f1 races and content, I would definitely recommend it. I have two issues with the app though. The “international” feed is delayed which is super annoying when using multiple screens to see data/track map. The data will show overtakes before they happen on the main feed which spoils the excitement. Second, I would use this app so much more if it had Picture in Picture! If I want to check twitter during a red flag for example, I have to exit the app. I would like to watch free practices with the feed in the corner of my screen while doing other things, but I can’t with this app. Every other video player app has Picture in Picture, so I don’t know why F1TV doesn’t. Please add this feature!

Geographic Restrictions - NEVER Works. App can’t ever get the IP address right and always thinks you’re somewhere else and blocks out both live and recorded content. Buggy as hell and never works correctly. Can’t get around it with a VPN either. Bad tech.

New update is awful. Harder to find things. Seems empty and it doesn’t to show what time the race weekend sessions are at like it did before. Put it back to the way it was.

No stable streaming. App is great if you want to watch on your computer or apple device. Streaming to a Samsung is not stable. Most of the time it disconnects after a few minutes. I still enjoy watching the races on my big screen TV vs a small screen iPad or computer. Why not fix something that has been an issue for a while now and has received many complaints? Poor customer experience.

Issue with Subscrition. Seems to be that the Apple subscription is no longer properly linked with the F1 app. So be careful if you are renewing the subscription to F1 within the App Store- did not work for me. Recommend buying from F1 directly (same price) until this is addressed!

Airplay still not working. When are you guys going fix this app! Airplay still does not work 🤬

Works Great. Really not sure what all the bad reviews are about. I've used this for a year on my ipad pro and watched multiple past seasons and extra content, live races, and streamed over airplay to my LG tv without issue. The only further thing I wish it did was remember between PC and iPad where I was watching in a given race when I switch devices. It's worked flawlessy the entire time, through multiple updates. Update: Would you look at that, with the latest update it now remembers between PC and iPad! Amazing. Love it.

Glitchy. $10 a month just specifically for F1 races and I can’t stream a single race without glitches and the app not able to stay live via mobile devices. Constant glitches during the race causing parts of the race to be missed. Very disappointed especially when all that this offers is F1 racing and ya can’t watch a full race without constantly having to make sure your not glitched out of the live sessions. Y’all need to lower your prices. What’s the point of a mobile app if it doesn’t work on your mobile devices. And please keep the weekend schedule up for the whole weekend and quit taking it down halfway through the weekend.

Needs Picture in Picture. The app has gotten drastically better since I first downloaded it. The one major feature it still lacks is Picture in Picture mode. I often watch races and text with friends and it is really inconvenient to have to pause and hope I don’t miss anything important every time I want to see a text or respond. I get that I could just use two devices but not everyone has that option and it would be nice to be able to use Picture in Picture for those moments.

Improved 2022. The F1TV app last season was almost unusable. They have improved since then, and added the ten second skips which was a much needed addition. They have also added a new race commentary team that is pretty good, but I still prefer the international broadcast with Crofty. The archive is nice too, I just wish they had more 1950’s races with additional footage and stuff. All in all, I think it is worth it. I chose to go with the year subscription as it is basically the same price as going month to month for a season and I can watch old races in the off season.

Never seems to work 100% after any update. Especially with preseason testing, this has been one of the most used apps on my phone. However, it is also one of the most buggy and frustrating apps on my phone as well. It seems like they just can’t get it right. After one update, the video player closes every time I leave and return to the app. The next update, that gets fixed, but all of a sudden video playback skips ahead of the audio by 10 seconds within minutes of starting playback. I just wish that they would use the stock iOS video player, because they can’t seem to make their custom one work very well.

Subscription/ freezing issues. Downloaded the app subscribed, and issues which were resolved. It worked for a few weeks before again it has started asking me to subscribe again. I contacted support and they advised me to restore purchase which then made app freeze (repeatedly). Finally was told to delete and download again… still having the same issue. Because I keep getting disconnected from support I keep getting told the same repetitive response even though I’ve told them this, in which they respond with a copied and pasted step by step response…😡

Please improve video player. So much content I want to consume but the viewing experience is miserable. No way to fast forward or rewind except by pulling the video time bar thing at the bottom. It’s so annoying when you just want to skip back a few sec/minutes. Please add the ability to skip forward/backwards!! Also when a race is live, and I start late if I choose to view the race data, it skips back to the live data and not the data from where I am in the race. The content is great but the execution of this app is terrible. I don’t know why it’s so hard to add better playback options. Please for the love of Hamilton fix this so F1 fans can enjoy the sport in all its glory!

Only $9.99 per month app that has casting issues. While the app is great when it works, it seems to be rife with bandwidth issues and compatibility issues. The app seems to work great when I try to watch replays days after the live sessions, but has lag or won’t even connect when trying to watch at peak hours during or close to a race, practice, or quali session. This leads me to believe they are skimping on available bandwidth on hosting their video. This app is the only premium streaming service app that I have issues with casting to my TV to watch video. I constantly have issues with it not connecting, getting stuck with the spinning icon, or dropping out and displaying network errors try again later. I know it is not my network as I have concurrently tried streaming Netflix and other services with no issues. Overall, it is disappointing that I am spending $9.99 (plus a foreign transaction fee) for an app that has so many bugs. Please spend the money to properly fix the app.

Poor Customer Service. Spent three months trying to get the developer to fix an issue where the App doesn’t recognize my paid annual subscription or refund me the purchase price. Every one of their responses was a canned / dictated compilation of text that did not address the issue. They also repeatedly treated the issue as if purchased through Google Play and not Apple. If you have issues, be advised that this developer will not resolve.

Works kinda sometimes. I paid for this to strictly watch F1 and stream it to my tv. A lot of reviews say that it doesn’t work to stream and they’re right. The only time the race was capable to stream on my tv was for the 2022 season opener. Any other time it fails and just doesn’t work. Same goes with FP123 and Quali and it also lags and crashes some times which makes watching races annoying because you could miss a minute or so. Please fix the streaming issue. This isn’t fair if you’re paying 80 a year and can’t even watch it the way you want to.

Do not subscribe through this app! Terrible support!. I made the mistake of subscribing to F1TV through this app. Big mistake! There is no way to use a subscription purchased through the app on the F1TV website, since you don’t get a usable login/password. I wasted several days trying to fix this issue with F1TV support. Another mistake! Don’t waste your time. The only ‘support’ you can get is from dim-witted bots which just go around in circles asking for lots of information about other problems, but never addressing my actual problem. I hoped eventually a real person would intervene, but no one ever did. Absolutely the worst customer support I’ve ever experienced.

Only TV Feed for Real Fans. The live broadcasting, pre and post quali/race shows are all great. Top notch color commentary and technical insights from past F1 drivers, engineers, and others in the industry. Much better than the Sky broadcast which leans toward dramatizing everything or focuses on the wrong battles mid race. App works well on Apple TV, IPhone, IPad etc. I have used for years and rarely experienced any bugs or issues. Only reason I have deducted a star is because the feeds are not in 4k. That being said, its a very high quality 1080p stream. Much better than most US sports.

AMAZING! FINALLY!!. Finally you guys have a subscription service for an amazing price! No longer will I have to overpay JUST to watch f1 you saved me $25 monthly and made a lifetime costumer keep it up! Love the features on the app. ESPN can take a hike as well they want 8x as much just to have access to formula 1 even if you’re only watching formula 1. This is pretty much the only sports content I consume so I have no need for anything else. Keep it up formula 1 tv.

Could be better for multiple reasons, here’s why.. Can not download for offline viewing. Can not seamlessly switch cameras without lag. *this is big if you like to watch it live with additional camera angles. App can spoil things with thumbnail images they use for events if you were waiting to watch a race later. Lastly it feels like I’m paying for a something polished and I feel like it is in beta testing. I really wish I didn’t enjoy F1 this much because I’m a fan that’s going to pay regardless but really wish they would step up their game. TL:DR Consider doing a trial or month only to see if it’s right for you.

I am a proponent of this app. I am in the US. Streaming to my Apple TV beats any coverage on local / cable TV. The picture quality is better than Cable. You never miss a second of anything and no commercials. The cost for the subscription is incredibly reasonable.I’ll never watch an F1 race again through traditional cable TV again. I have used this app traveling as well, through an HDMI cable. While it is not as good as streaming, I never have to miss a race no matter where I am.

Great app. I’ve been following f1 for nearly 2 decades now and it’s truly a great sport, would be nice if the app were just as great. It already has great features but it is lacking in some parts. Those being No Picture in Picture mode or even the ability to have the streams audios running in the background while being out of the app or while having phone locked. That would definitely benefit all fans I think, would be a nice and very welcomed features if they were to be implemented.

US fans. Being an American F1 fan it’s nearly impossible to watch races. This app does work most of the time. If you’re thinking of subscribing to the cheaper option, don’t. You’ll want to upgrade almost immediately as all the good content is locked for PRO subscriptions. That then lead to issues with already having an account when I wanted to upgrade. So, I let the subscription cancel and joined again to the PRO level. When it’s working this app is great.

Less for More…. This year the subscription price was raised in order to…keep up with inflation. Nice, y’all. Well done? The updated ui is non intuitive, the streaming experience (especially while casting to a tv - we have excellent internet so data rates were not to blame) was a laggy mess, it does not play nice with Apple air play (often only shares audio), constant buffering (stopping and starting every 5 seconds) made watching the race a taxing and frustrating experience, and more I’m sure that is not coming to mind at the moment. In summation, they have charged more and delivered less. But hey, that’s price we must pay to feed the insatiable Liberty Media machine. Infinite growth in a finite world, exploitation of fellow humans, thank you, late stage capitalism. You and Liberty Media are truly the heroes we deserve.

M.peralta. I hate that I can only be signed on 2 devices at a time instead of allowing sign on to any number of devices and limit the number of devices streaming at the same time. It is a big pain to have to log off one device to have to log on to another because I have 5 tvs plus my phone and tablet and sometimes I watch at home, sometimes at work, sometimes in bed and sometimes in my wood shop at home. Do like all other streaming services and only limit the number of devices streaming at once. Or you can try having to input your user name and password on a tv every time

Terrible Streaming Experience!. You stated in an earlier response that the app would use adaptive bitrate to give the highest quality image available. Well it doesn’t work that way. It goes out of it’s way to provide the worst picture quality possible. When I’m on a wicked fast provider the picture quality is so pixelated and compressed it’s unwatchable! Yet on the same network I can watch 4k streams. You are a world sport with races all over the planet. Why do I have to resort to using a vpn to use the app when watching out of the US. If you are going to use the audio feed from Sky, use their entire feed. Tired of hearing one-sided commentary cause you don’t include their pit and trackside reporters.

Poor casting reliability. Casting video to a TV or chrome cast has been getting progressively worse the last 12-18 months. I used to be able to cast with AirPlay to my Samsung 8 TV, but that stopped working last year. It just gives an “oops we had an error” and fails. My backup casting device was Chromecast, but that sometimes doesn’t work now (app refuses to see the device but other apps have no problem). A media app that streams video with no casting opting is about worthless really. I have to cast from the website on my computer this weekend.

F1 TV APP REVIEW. This APP is pretty amazing. I just recently found out that you can choose your favorite driver’s vantage point and go through the entire race as if you were Lewis Hamilton 😎. You can also get the standard view with all the drivers racing as well as a map 🗺 mode with the drivers represented as dots in what would appear to be “MISSION IMPOSSIBLE” style mode ?🤔but hey to each their own. It does at time lag for certain features and functions but which app doesn’t do that in 2023 🤷🏽‍♂️. I rate it a SOLID 4/5 stars for the overall experience and INGENUITY.

Replay Video Quality. I would give this a 5 star, but the video quality is not always the best. I understand if I were watching it live there may be some quality drops, but when I’m watching the race on replay I expect the video quality to be HD the whole race. I also don’t like that some in car cameras have horrible video quality while some are just ok. Again, I rarely am able to watch the races live so this is all on replay. I also have 200MBs internet, so I know it’s not an internet issue.

Wtf1 happened!. Last year, 2021, the app was great. It worked and worked fairly well. This year I keep getting charged but the app requires me to restore my purchase yet is unable to do so. So I cannot watch anything! Yet I’m paying those sons-a-b*tches for the stupid app that won’t work. I was even on the phone with customer support for an hour. He was really nice but he could not solve the problem. I’ve removed the app and reinstalled it. I’ve tried a new subscription…. Nothing works. It used to work. Now it’s a steaming pile of feces that I get the privilege of paying for.

Almost perfect. I don’t like how you think I am some redneck gun toting trumpet person your adds to me are offensive and create hate. I also feel your coverage could be better like Women announcer is describing something on TV and saying look at this and the picture is showing something else I feel like you guys lose touch in your coverage sometimes as for news on the app I feel like there’s a lot of Youtubers that give better news coverage of the sport better then you I pay 87 dollars a year and feel it could be better

App’s excuse is always “network connection”. Whenever I try to load a video that is TVPro (of which I am a subscriber) it won’t load and says that there is a “network connection issue”. However, when I load the same video and switch the option to see live timing, on board cams, etc. they immediately load and play as normal. For such an expensive membership, I would expect to get what I pay for. I’ve never felt so scammed by an app before.

Love F1, HATE this app.. For a company making billions this is easily the worst tv and phone app i’ve ever experienced. The casting to tv from phone app works 1/5th of the time. When the race or session is happening and you’re behind the live view the app will NOT allow you to rewind or pause the race. On the tv app you CAN NOT start from the beginning of the race when the race is live, meaning if the race has started the app will ALWAYS take you to the live moment. When the next event begins (you’re watching the race and the post race show begins) it will automatically bring the cursor over that new event prevent you from fast forwarding or rewinding while that new event is up. F1 TV…do better.

Will crash every time casting a recently finished event. This app is quite limited. Watching F1 in the US is challenging, this is just about the only option. Catching the race live is always ideal but for a good number of races it just not practical. This app excels at adding frustration to watching those races. It will work perfectly on a tiny smartphone but try to cast it to a tv good luck. Live races no problem they cast just fine. I will continue to torcher myself with this because it is the only option for me currently but I am not impressed.

Fantastic app, works very smoothly. Immersive experience.. Like everyone else I bought the Access plan but then like a fool I upgraded to Pro thinking it would be an improvement. They took my money at light speed but it’s been 3 weeks and it still tells me to “upgrade to watch”. It took 2 weeks for them to send an automated response telling me to send them an email telling them to upgrade the app (seriously???)... it’s been a week since I did that.... I really don’t want to think I’m being scammed but it’s dawning on me that I am. NOT WORTH THE AGGRAVATION! BUYER BEWARE!

Changing language. I love f1 and I love the app. But my issue with this app is that I try to change the language to Spanish and the commentary language doesn’t change. I have the app on my Apple TV and I set it to Spanish when I went to my profile in the app but when I watch races they don’t comment in Spanish and it’s all in English, which I don’t complain. But when I’m watching the races with my family sometimes they prefer it in Spanish but the commentary doesn’t change. Hopefully this can get fixed :(

Underwhelming performance. I’m just adding my voice to the many below. A video app that doesn’t support Picture in Picture on the iPad and doesn’t work with AirPlay or screen mirroring? Ridiculous for a paid subscription. Constant buffering, poor video quality (to the point that I can’t read lap times), and network errors. But only on live events. It seems like if it was an issue with my network (800 mbit/sec) I would struggle to stream replays or archived events. Those always work fine, the only problem is quali and the Grand Prix. It sure seems like the network issue is on the F1TV side when it comes to handling demand.

Airplay functionality isn’t there. It’s advertised as one of the main focal points and implemented, but I can only get it to work with an AppleTV device (of which I don’t have). When I try to stream to my WebOS tv, it just doesn’t work and I get the same “BM2101” error. This has been around for a significant amount of time and it doesn’t seem like it’s going away anytime soon unless the developers actually decide to look into it. Being relegated to watching on my phone screen is inconvenient, as I’m unable to use my phone to talk to anybody during the race.

The whole point of the app is no censorship. I love this app. Been watching f1 for two years now solely on this app. This being said they have decided to censor the onboards of the individual drivers when there is even a hint of a swear word. This is a big deal to me. I could very easily cancel my subscription and find a stream online no problem at all. The thing that kept me was the uncut radio messages ( now a thing of the past) giving you raw insight to the driver, like my favorite Max Verstappen. With these radio messages now being censored my subscription most likely will end and I’ll just find something online to watch for free.

Why did they need my phone number for free trial?. Tried Pro version free for a week and loved it. Watched on TV with two iPads and iPhone providing track positions, on-board cameras, etc. (Five stars for that.) Decided I wouldn’t be able to watch enough to justify the cost, so I cancelled the trial. Only drawback: my phone has started receiving spam text messages. This never happened before. Thought it was a bit odd that they needed my phone number for a trial; assume they’ve sold the number. Get random spam every day now. Left me a real bad taste for F1 TV. (Zero stars for that.)

Auto Renew shenanigans. I decided to opt out of the 2024 season because I am growing a bit weary of the Max Verstappen show. I thought I cancelled at the end of last season, but before I could confirm I got a notification from F1 TV saying my credit card was expired and the subscription could not be renewed without action from me. Easy peasy, right? Not so much. I did nothing believing the subscription would be cancelled. A few days later I got a “Thanks for subscribing to F1 TV”. It appears they were able to get my new card info, so I am stuck with another year. So….to avoid this you can do one of two things….mark your calendar for a month before the renewal and cancel then or….after the subscription is charged you can cancel. That is what I just did. I will still get the season I accidentally paid for, but it won’t renew it the following year. Of course Hamilton is moving to Ferrari in 2025….In any case, I can renew on my terms.

Over 100 crashes. Don't waste your time with this app, if you try to watch a quali after it started, it skips you to the front of the video and completely spoils pole. I couldn't even watch Baku because my app crashed 20 times!! 20 times in one hour is ridiculous for also paying $80 a year. I'm paying $80 a year for my app to crash over and over. I bought it to watch everything live and yet I can't even watch it because of all the app crashing. This happens every other race where the app works fine and then I have weekends like Baku where it is simply unwatchable cause I'm getting an error every 30 seconds. I cant even finish a lap without worrying about a app crash. Save your money and spend it elsewhere until they fix this.

The app works fine, it’s just not fun.. I’m giving it a three star just because it’s a relatively cheaper way to watch the races when compared to other subscriptions in the U.S. The coverage by F1TV doesn’t do F1 justice. It’s a very corny and cringy coverage with awful commentary. I was hoping to find David Croft not an unenthusiastic David Coulthard. I honestly cannot say enough about how bad the commentary is. It’s just subdued and simply the opposite of flawless. The intro videos they make before a race seem to be put together by a team of rookie editors/director/sound composers… It’s just so bad. They should just use the coverage by SkySports and call it a day.

Best $80 a year app. F1TV is the best way to immerse yourself into the F1 (n F2 n Porsche Cup) world. The races are real time or whenever I can get to it. I can airplay it to my big screen tv. I can watch real time qualifying practices n tech shows that are fantastic (n replays whenever). The app alllows you to follow the technical data as well as cameras on each of the drivers point of view. INDYCAR n NASCAR and Formula E are in the caveman era. They’re like broadcasting most (some get cut off) on ESPNSwhatever or CBS.

Worth another look. I’ve seen a lot of negative reviews from last season using Apple TV or casting from an Apple device. I can’t comment if those problems have been resolved as I have that setup. I just got the paid app last night and I think it’s paid for itself already! I’ve been watching the live broadcasts on Roku and watching the in-car cameras on my Apple devices. So far it’s been flawless! Going to watch some on-demand on my iPad and update this review (if needed)

terrible app update. the prior version of the app was working, but the hostile forced updates models introduced by the UI team made me update while watching FP1 replay — now the app doesn’t open. Neither iPad nor iPhone. The new version of the app are garbage & version from last season was fine. The dev team that manages testing should be axed immediately for not being able to manage app testing for the only platform with consistent hardware/software (iOS)… testing if app opens should be test case 0. The update has made the app unusable (hangs on app open). The eng and product leaders owning iOS should be ashamed of themselves. If you (or your teams) are reading this review, be better and ship better software with more QA test.

Bad start, but great when finally account working. - and it’s the best way to watch the formula one Grand Prix! But be warned that it takes about 2 weeks to get your login working and account opened. My 2 brothers had the same experience. I’m in the USA and they’re in Europe. - There’s so much money in this sport you’d think it would be easy to pay the money and start watching!! Very frustrating, I missed races. I think the confusion in the backend is between the white background (free? App) and red background TV app.

Could be better. When I initially installed this app on my iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPad Pro 11, iPad Air 1, iTouch, and my PC, at the beginning of the 2021 season, I was excited about all the different view options. I would have all devices on different views. Then the app was updated. My iTouch now goes to a blank screen when the app loads so I can no longer use it. The, the split screen in driver view was reduced to a single driver, bummer. As for glitches and other play anomalies, I haven't had those issues on my devices but there is some stuttering when screen mirroring on my TV. Overall I like the app but there are some things that frustrate me.

Great Service. I would love to be able to put this at 5 stars but sometimes the quality gets bad but just for a little bit but over all i love this and the price is not to bad plus there are archives, documentaries and much more i also love being able to watch past seasons especially 2021 and Seeing one of the best drivers Sir Lewis Hamilton and watching Max Verstappen dominate it is amazing i definently recommend this app and is worth the money so if you see this give the app a chance

Great sport, great content, great app. There has never been a better time for Americans to get into F1 than right now. Not only has it entered a new golden age where thoughtfully evolved regulations over the past decade have transformed any given season from being foregone and boring procession every race to an exciting, interesting, and uniquely technological team sport on and off the circuit, but the ability to watch not only replays on demand and well edited session summaries has made the sport more accessible than ever. Compared to past times that requires very costly cable or satellite subscriptions, it also never more affordable with either the low cost (~$25/year!) watch later subscription or premium watch live subscription, both of which include unlimited access to past seasons and excellent content shows like the indispensable Tech Talk. The app works great and streams reliably. Especially love the Apple TV app. Cannot highly recommend enough! 🤩 🚥🏁🏎🏎🏎🏎🏎🏎🏎🏎💨

Great App, Excellent Improvements, Amazing Value!. This app has gotten better and better since it first came out and the value for the F1TV subscription can’t be beat! Things that I wanted have been included in updates like saving progress across devices and video playback errors almost completely going away. The access to all streams in the archive is great and when I cannot watch a race, qualification, or practice session live, I know I can go back later and watch.

Unstable and poorly delivered app. The app rarely works without issues, and I have routinely had to delete and re-download. For a service that reflects a multi-billion dollar, hi-tech sport, this app is woeful. It's probably best to buy ESPN+ if you live/work in the US, and use that instead-at least ESPN know how to build an app! Another point is that be careful before you buy. If you travel overseas a lot, there are many countries that the Pro package will not work in. You're then left with the only option of having to find somewhere to watch the race, or buying a VPN (and the app is designed in such a way that VPNs don't work with the app). However, you don't find out about that until after you have bought the package!

Good, but…. Great program. My only issue is that when I tried to cancel my subscription because I was not going to have internet - they wouldn't cancel my service! I had 20 emails back and forth and they still wouldn't cancel my service. I became fairly annoyed. In addition, when I join the broadcast already in progress, I have the option to start live or start from the beginning… Well it doesn't always work. I choose start from beginning, but it takes to live and spols the race….

Product/App poorly made. It’s 2023, iOS 17 - Still no Picture in Picture, still no vertical rotation option, and still seems way too easy to lose your place in a paused stream or jump to live. Please use any other quality video app on the iOS platform and see what the industry standard is, because this is not it. I’d love to see a “Spoiler protection mode” of some sort that knows you haven’t finished watching the current weekend’s events yet and shows a warning before skipping forward past your current watch time. Just sit down in a room as developers and come up with an app that would be exciting to admit you are a developer for. This is a bare-bones, often glitchy app that we pay a lot of money for.

Great way to watch all the races. The app is great. I’ve watched two weeks of racing so far and no issues. Lots of other great content to watch while waiting for the next race. Being able to login into 6 screens at one time is sweet if you have th devices you can setup your own pit wall and monitor your favorite team. The amount of content you are given access to and how long the race season is now the price for the F1TV Pro is absolutely worth it.

Awesome App with no matching substitution.. F1 enthusiast has been craving for a dedicated app. Independent from cable tv subscriptions. This app can deliver. Close but no cigar! There are two issues for the developers to tackle to earn 5 stars. #1 pls. make the app available for smart tv’s already. And B (courtesy of Idiocracy): fix broadcasting lag during the race. The only time I ever encounter issues is usually during a live event. Runner up observations: Closed captioning would be nice for drivers live radio. - I’m sure AI can help. Media content is average at best. -assuming this is small part of the budget. More camera angle choices within the same car. - the system is available, most cars are fully equipped already. Slide bar to be more responsive and user friendly. -consider something similar to apple’s dock magnification.
