App is easy and useful. Angie’s app allows me to quickly pinpoint the information I need. Updates and setups are intuitive and easy to locate and update. Topics are well organized. The app sends out notifications quickly and Via multiple means. Two suggestions I would offer : 1. Allow the user to turn leads on and off for one week at a time rather than 48 hours . Normally when you need to Pause, it’s more than 48 hrs. 2. When sorting the leads, the criteria doesn’t allow you to list accurately the leads you are looking for . Sometimes an active lead won’t show up because it’s status has changed. Part of the problem may be that the status appears to change too easily . It seems as though the status will change simply when you go into the lead and perform an action. I know I have not changed a status but when I sort , it is missing and I have to keep sorting until I find the status it had been changed to. Easy to overlook leads that are still active .

No regard for the provider. Home advisor could not be more of a scam then it is. Do not use this app or platform if you want to make money or be appreciated. Home advisor will charge you for every last lead they give you. Regardless if you made money on the lead or not. The customer service people do nothing to help you with leads that you have already paid for if they end up being dead ends. Especially when the lead does not answer their phone. I have bought countless leads where the phone number given is not working or wrong and I still do not get money back from home advisor for those leads. Here’s the worst part. The credit system for leads is not based on what’s logically like if you made money on a lead or had the opportunity to make money versus not it’s based on how many leads you been charged versus how many leads you have requested to be credited. All that to say as long as home advisor makes a certain amount of money off you via leads then they will give you some credits, but only a certain amount. After that certain amount they will start to label all your requested credits as ineligible whether they are legit or not. But once you have bought enough leads from home advisor again they will start allowing you a handful credits whether they are legit or not. DO NOT USE HOME ADVISOR!!!

Rules of the Game. HomeAdvisor is a great tool, but a poor customer service tool. Many times you may receive great leads, but majority of them will not be worth the money. Their rules to getting credit back for bad leads is ever changing, and is like pulling teeth. I have paid more money than I would like to count on leads which I begged to get money back it felt like knowing I was in the right. This is a good starter tool, but remember to turn your leads off and accept opportunities ONLY as they come. This will stop most of the financial bleeding. It has however helped me grow, but I am disappointed by how I have been treated in this short time with them. I pray this company can find a better way such as their competitor “Thumbtack”. I can at least see what I am getting into before I choose to fight for the lead, and only pay once the customer chooses me. There is no scrapping between contractors, because the lead will be just yours if chosen. Meaning I don’t pay for a lead I won’t get! HomeAdvisor......I hope you can fix your system, because the potential can be great, but also a NIGHTMARE for new businesses. Please do better by your loyal contractors like myself, and vet the customers needs better before giving them out to be fought over.

Stop Advertising False Leads and Reviews. I’m totally disgusted with Home Advisors! In the beginning their were good leads and as time went by being with them for a couple of months I started receiving scam, false leads via text and email! Their ratings department is horrible even with valuable proof of a customer blatantly lying on a review they side with the customer and keep a false rating on your reviews because you didn’t provide a contract to them in their time like Professionals aren’t business as well. You pay for them to run your company how they want to run your company meaning if you request for a review to be taking off the battle you and tell you NO! What am I paying you for FALSE ADVERTISEMENT AND TO TELL ME THAT I’M A LIAR ASA PROFESSIONAL AFTER GIVING SUBSTANTIAL PROOF OF A CUSTOMER LYING! To make a long story short a customer lied about her services on a review and ratings department told me because she didn’t tell the truth about asking for extra services they can not use that as proof because she didn’t write it in a review! If a company does an horrible job on your home, why will you contact the company again for extra services?! Due to the review being a lie because she wanted a refund! DO NOT PAY YOUR HARD OWN MONEY TO THIS GIMMICK COMPANY, THEIR FULL OF BS!!!!

New ? Old? Patience? Learning!...... I can remember beingQuite a few years back using my resources to pay for advertising and dealing with businesses to stand out to give me a good name. Now thank you to the HomeAdvisor where I might not always agree with what they do they have always been very flexible and understanding and They have made me feel like I am valued as a customer. I’ve been down on my luck on times in the past and I would choose today’s technology and information that Home Advisor Provides where the information is at my fingertips 24 hours a day over anything. And probably hear this a lot but it may be pricing that I don’t agree with all the time but how do you put a value on something so simple and so easy to use to land jobs . I have gained more jobs because of all the visor and as far as the services that has been provided for me and beats going door to door or word-of-mouth thank youHome advisor. Let me know if there’s anyway that I can change this for the better

Awful Business Ethic. I began using Angi in hopes it would bring in more leads but despite having my account set up correctly (and spending several hours trying to contact a competent person on customer service to ensure it was set up correctly) I found all I received were leads for services I don’t provide. These included pressure washing, roofing, electrical work, and cutting down trees. I am a grass care provider, I cut, fertilize, and aerate grass. Despite this Angie feels comfortable carving the full amount for the lead before confirming that the lead that they assign to you is feasible for you company to service. This has angered several homeowners and the best I was able to do is give them the customer service hotline for Angi or tell them to stay away from Angi at all costs. They make getting credits for leads a gamble at best so they are basically stealing from you every time it’s rejected (which is often). I also had several instances of Angi sending emails to customers that I was canceling appointments on them and upon calling Angi they just said it was a bug in their notifications system and provided no further help. Angi is one of those things that I wanted to work so bad and upon giving them every chance I could they just never fail to disappoint.

Clients can’t make correct contractor selection!. I’m getting tired of paying for leads that I don’t serve. I am specifically a “Geothermal HVAC” installer. I get leads for boilers, swimming pool heaters, no one returns the followup call (or e-mail), or people who don’t really want an installation they just have questions, etc... I’m getting fed up with the unfriendly way Home Advisor deals with lead credit requests! First of all- you can’t find where to go to ask for it. Then it is an automated process that does not allow for selections that apply and get instantly rejected. If I need a person to talk to who can review and is authorized to make a decision. Typically the response is no credit is forthcoming because it’s a valid lead... when the client themselves apologize for costing me $23-$92 and they know they aren’t a lead or worse yet... HmAdv says they takes to the customer when we couldn’t get a response and so we still need to pay. I have 5 in the past couple months. Because of the unfriendly methods for credit request I’m not getting my refunds. As the business owner I am becoming increasingly angry with Home Advisor processes and am at the verge of abandoning the service after a long relationship that has never been better than moderately happy to more often feeling taken advantage of every month or two. Need to make customers add more descriptions. Please make customers add descriptions for the work they are looking to get, make it understood to customers that contractors pay less fees so please don’t ignore when it’s time to get called by a company, also please indicate in the lawn care section that one time service shouldn’t even be an option Too many times I run into scenarios where customers accept my invitation to connect and then never answer me, not sure why that is, and one time service lawn care is very redundant , $36 lead fee, cut a house $50-$55 one time, imagine if it’s long because usually that’s the case, customers will say “my machine broke, just needed you this one time” Just feel like overall angi leads needs to make it obligatory to add a thorough description of their work wanted, another example of an unclear situation is the “deliver mulch, stone, etc.” As a landscaper one might think they want their mulch done, sometimes you’ll call and it’ll literally mean to deliver the materials itself, the customer doesn’t need a landscaper for that, they need to call a landscape material place

FAKE LEADS. Homeadvisor is a good way to advertise your business but it is a good way to go bankrupt with them at the same time. I am a roofer and ive been using homeadvisor for over 6/7 months. In the beginning homeadvisor used to send very good leads(actual people that answer the phone) now it has gotten completely out of hand ive received around 10 leads $40 on average and none of the people have answered the phone. And ive heard a couple of my customers that came from homeadvisor after the job is done that they receive calls from homeadvisor and that they tell them to dont go with me because the deal was not "fair" meaning homeadvisor will resend that same persons information to another 3-4 other pros charging them $37-47 on top of the previous 3-4 that sent it before. This is just absurd. Listen im not saying not to rip off pros and lie by using fake leads and fake names because ive made money here and i dont like to talk bad about who brings me food in the table but its not fair for other businesses and all im saying is that you guys at HA do it in a little bit more style other than this. Im just being honest.

Good and Bad. When I signed up I was told since I was an Angie’s List A Rated Contractor for the last 6 years they would merge all my reviews and promised a lot of things just to get me to sign up! I asked about the sales manager that I spoke to would always be there for me and my company if we ever needed her and trying to get her on the phone is almost impossible. As far as the leads go they are super expensive and we are constantly fighting to get a credit for the leads that are no good or even talk to a customer. Half of the calls we receive from the Home Advisor 800 number are dead (Pick the phone up and nobody is there and the call disconnected) if they fix those issues I would be a lot happier. I don’t like to have to spend money on leads that are no good and then pay my office manager to spend 2 hours a day trying to get us a credit! We are probably charged $500-$1000 more a month than what we should pay. Its been 6-8 months and still never had our reviews transferred as promised. We have went back and forth threw emails to where I was told that if I give her my login information and password to my Angie’s List account she would transfer the reviews and then the next day I received an email about how she has to have some IT guy take a look and that it might not work and now we will not get the reviews transferred if they can’t figure it out! Funny because they own Angie’s List. Just be ready to pay $1500-$2000 at minimum and you are on your own as far as the rest goes.

Total Rip-off!. We are a New Business Start-up and we were placed with “Angela,” who is supposed to be a 13yr HA Rep. Before we signed with HA, Angela called us relentlessly! We finally accepted and decided to give it a try. She told us we would only pay for the “Leads,” we accepted. What she didn’t say, was that every time we answered a HA call, that was “accepting” the lead!!! We gave over a 12 FREE estimates, that took our time and gas, and we never heard back from them, and then our bank account was charged $389 for one week of unfruitful leads!!! We called Angela to try and talk to her, and all of a sudden she was no where to be found. She went from calling us 4-5x’s per day, to us leaving voicemails everyday with no response. After 5 days of no contact, she finally called my husband back and told him I was lying and she never said we were going to get EVERY lead. By the amounts we have been charged, if we chose to stay with HA, we would have to charge $50 for estimates, plus add an additional $50 to our fee just to break even. We want to offer “reasonable prices,” and this would not allow us to do that. We are very disappointed and will NEVER use or recommend Home Advisor to anyone!

Thank you Home Advisor!!!. Thank you so much for everything! I have built my business just on the leads from Home Advisor alone. I love the app! The ability to easily mark leads based on their position in the sales process is great! Also the ability to ask for a review with just the click of a button is fantastic! I also like the ability for customers to book jobs directly.... the only problem I’ve been having is that I am not able to reschedule an appointment once I have talked to the customer. When I try to reschedule it in the app, it just freezes and doesn’t do anything.... this wouldn’t be that big of a deal but Home Advisor ended up sending one of my clients an email saying our appointment was cancelled the evening before we were supposed to be there! Luckily when we showed up we were still able to complete the job, it was just a little awkward because they thought we cancelled on them! If you guys could fix this one problem the app would be truly Amazing! Thank you!

Thieves, Liars, Very Poor Customer Service. Everything sounds great that they tell you but don’t believe any of it. I received my initial call from Kyle Brodsky and he did poor job listening and I had to tell him about 5 times the correct spelling for my business. He also said he would be with me every step of the way but I never heard from him again and he would not return any of my calls. I called customer service to see what was taking so long for my profile to be active and was transferred 3 times before being told I was being transferred again but was hung up on instead. I haven’t received not a single lead but they want to charge me $300 a month and a $150 annual fee. Don’t let them scam you like they have to many others I’m sure. In response to Angi specialists you know you’re Full of you know what and you’re only pretending to be professional to set the example for the SCAM artists you are! My contact info for my business name is SuKmYD. Please look it up and get back to me to let me know what you can do for me. Everyone please read the 1 star rating reviews before purchasing with this company that’s out to rip off small businesses.

Robert b 3 years. 3years in HomeAdvisor is the best way to make a good company HOMEADVISOR IS THE BEST everybody needs to understand you’re not gonna get every single lead that comes in and those that are out $1000 and only got two jobs that’s not home advisor‘s fault that’s your fault for not being either a good salesman or sales lady or just not knowing what you’re talking about and it’s not home advisor‘s fault that they did all the work by allowing a system to generate leads to send to you do you think they should not get paid for their work just like you complaining ,,,they could complain if there wasn’t getting paid but yes it takes money to make money if I was everybody on this platform that has a complaint about getting leads and not getting the work charge for your estimate if the lead cost you $40 for the lead charge the customer that you’re going to see A fee to give the estimate. It’s 2021 nothings free. You’re not a bad person if you charge for your estimate they are getting your timeTo come out and look at their problem or their ideas so they need to pay for it. So again to all my home advisor doubters if you can’t ride the horse don’t put the saddle on END OF STORY Drop the mic lol

Bogus Leads. I didn’t tap a star because there isn’t a symbol that expresses my opinion. I have received a countless # of bogus leads leads that were out of my coverage area, leads outside the scope of the services that we provide, leads where the customer has no clue what I’m referring to , wrong #’s leads where no one answers the call, respond to a text or even an email and best of all the wrong contact information. And whenever I try to get a credit the answer is always the same, HomeAdvisor will send to the review team and I should receive an email with an answer to my request. I’m sure all of us have been thought the same process and have received the same email stating that they have reviewed all the information and can not at this time give you a credit, and that not all leads are perfect I was mislead rite from the beginning when I set up and signed on with H.A. I was told and I requested that I would cover an area of my choosing and customers that have already purchased all materials required to complete their project, and that all I had to do is provide my installation services, needless to say I’m yet to receive not 1 lead that fits that description. On an average 200$-400$ Per week H.A. Has quietly themselves my partner. And actually are doing better on their gross return then we are.

Horrible for Service Providers. This company is a nightmare to deal with. They first contacted me posing as someone who “had several clients interested in getting home inspections in my area”. Once I spoke to them on the phone I should have hung up as soon as they mentioned they’re a lead sales company. They had me sign up for their service as a home inspector. I read the terms and conditions just a couple hours later the same day, before my account was even activated! I told my rep I wasn’t comfortable with the T&C and no longer wanted to activate my account. She said she’ll work on it the next day. Day 2, I get a membership charge statement and start getting bombarded with welcome emails. I’ve responded 3 times to cancel my account. They just give me an incident number saying they will respond “very soon” and they never actually do. STAY AWAY! These people want to take $300 from you for a membership and apparently will never give it back, even if you don’t even use the service. Horrible customer service. Learn from my bad experience. I’m hoping they have one decent person willing to help me. I’m getting laid off from a different job and don’t have $300 to just give away. If they don’t fix this I’m going to the BBB for a formal complaint.

Business Owner Review. Angi’s List is really helpful sometimes. But more often than not they are charging me almost $50 per lead now and still sending my lead to other pros in my area. This is a problem because I am paying for leads to gain business, not more competition! I can hardly compete when there are +3 other pros at the same estimate, under cutting bids. So now not only am I competing even more than I should be, I am losing a lot of money and time. Some weeks Angi’s Lead racks up hundreds of dollars of lead fees that are simply unattainable because of every pro under bidding the next, just to break even. A lot of jobs Angi Leads are sending are also non profitable meaning; bo matter what it’s a $40 min lead fee… while alot of the leads they are sending are small jobs worth only $100-$150, meaning we break even at best. I would hope and pray Angis list cares about the pros that are keeping their company running and will hopefully do more to help us business owners not lose so much money with leads and not compete with each other when we use Angis List.

Honest Review. I have only been using the app for a few weeks. There is great potential, but, there are currently huge problems. Every professional that gets the lead has to pay. Regardless if you get the job or if the home owner changes their mind. Even if they don’t answer their phone. Most leads go out to three professionals. That is not right. Angis Leads is making up to $148 per lead and 2 professionals are losing up to $48 on every lead. This is not right. Also, many of the leads do not specify what the work is, so if you accept the lead and the job is not a service you provide, you still have to pay. This adds up quickly at about $47 per lead. I had to turn my leads off to stop racking up the out of pocket cost on bad leads. I have been working with managers for a week to resolve the issue and have been getting little to no resolution on the issue. I was told someone would get back to me twice and nothing. I was also told two times that Angi Leads used to credit all leads that didn’t result in work, but they changed it because professionals were taking advantage. Their solution seems to be for them to take advantage of small business owners. It’s a shame because this could be great. I hope I get this figured out with them. Haven’t given up yet. As I said, it could be great. Both Angi and the pros could make good money, not just Angi.

Bad leads are the norm and not the exception. In all fairness I have gotten some good jobs through Home Advisor but the biggest problem is that Home advisor very obviously tracks people’s google searches etc and then sells it as a legitimate lead when they haven’t even specifically requested a service. In the last two months out of approximately 15 leads I was only able to get in contact with less than a handful and 6-8 I never was able to get in contact with them whatsoever and 3-4 of them never intended it to be a job request. Getting credit for bad leads should be simple but its not. Home Advisor has a low allowance for requesting refunds and they’ll turn it down or the reps come up with flimsy excuses of why it’s somehow still a legitimate lead in spite of evidence to the contrary. For a small business it is expensive and I have gotten charged $124 for a small bathroom remodel and most leads are in $80-90 range. It’s simply not sustainable for me with Home Advisor fraudulently selling leads. I’m pretty well done with Home Advisor but beings I paid for a yearly membership already I’ll leave my profile on there for now.

So many bugs. This app crashes all the time and deletes your log in info. It has happened twice now that a lead comes in and when I click on the link to have it open in the app, the app does not know who I am. Not very convenient when you are trying to contact someone before other people get to It first. The app also recently started displaying EVERY lead, even ones that have been closed. Why would I want to see leads that I lost from 2 months ago in my “active leads”. From a user interface POV, it is laid out pretty well, except for the constant menu that pops up from the bottom every time I go into a lead detail. All I need is to find an email address, well hold on…don’t you want to call them, set a reminder or follow up, etc…. Please get rid of the box opening up by itself! If I want to access a menu I will click on the menu. I do not need you to shove it in my face like I’m an idiot. I have found the service very beneficial to my business (despite a couple disagreements about what an actual lead is), but this app needs to be fixed. An app is supposed to make the process more streamlined, not make me pull my hair out.

Angi Leads is AMAZING!!!!!. I don’t understand why you people are complaining about a service where they are totally upfront about everything. The people that are leaving ignorant reviews are people that’s haven’t applied yourself. I go online and look at my competitors all the time. You guys don’t build your profile or have any reviews!!! How can customers believe your a legitimate business? Angi is a matchmaking company for homeowners/ business to contractors “service professionals” which a lot of you guys trying to get into business. They connect us in real time with people needing a home services. So it’s up to you to call them back and connect with the customer. They get are expecting our call so call the request back when you receive it. The process is so simple if you apply yourself to understand the value of their services. Unfortunately this generation wants everything for free but to be in business it costs to be the boss. If anyone needs any help I would love to help in any way I can. So remember Angi isn’t your boss. You set your pace in what they send you. Your in full control over everything!!! So educate yourself on the value of their services which I have done and I love it!!!! Angi has drastically changed my life connecting my company with individuals that are simply looking to get home services. Thanks Angi. Hopefully my review helps future home services professionals able to get with Angi. Believe me it works if you apply yourself.

App works great. The app works great! I have no qualms with the app. HomeAdvisor as a company is awful. I would say that 4 in 10 leads aren’t actual jobs. Some of those will be other contractors “testing the system.” Some will be disgruntled contractors putting in fake requests. Some of the leads are just shoppers that don’t even want you to come out for a free estimate. “Can’t you just give me a quote over the phone?” Sometimes, these leads are new contractors trying to figure out what to charge. If you’re a sole proprietorship and you don’t have someone available to reach out to the lead immediately, you’ll have a difficult time competing with those who do. Also, you’ll get a lead that costs $30+ but it’s a really small project that you could only charge $30 for, then you would actually lose money on if you do it. They don’t do any sort of vetting. They do have a way to request a credit when you encounter the “bad” lead but, if you ask for all the ones you deserve you’ll spend more time on the phone complaining to them, again not working and losing even more money. I’ve heard of people having great success with HomeAdvisor but, that’s not the case for the owner/operator. The membership fees and the cost of the leads aren’t worth it, in my opinion.

The absolute worst. Just stealing your money. This business is the worst. They just steal your money. When they first call to sign you up they call you constantly assure you they will be there every step of the way and once you pay your rep. Ignores you. When I told him that it’s not how he explain he just said I’ll pause the leads and you can call this number by literal text. I decided I wasn’t even going to try so on top of steal 300 something of initial fee they now sent us to collection for 5,000 and I never ever used the app nor did the rep pause the account. So they want us to pay 5,000 for a service we never used because they can’t properly work it. I also asked to speak to a supervisor multiple times and they just said we have to send a 24hr request and they will call you. Since I signed up back in October I believe I have not received one call, but an email from collections. You guys are scammers and please for the ones thinking of joining don’t do it they are just robbing you. It’s now up to me to take it up with our lawyers and our big social media platform to expose this business for what they truly are.

Best service for Pros. I’ve used home advisor for over a year now and my business has grown astronomically. I love how easy they make it to manage your leads. Yeah, you won’t land every job, but we’ll worth it for the ones you do. I’m able to specify where I want to work, what jobs make me the most money, and I can turn it off when I get busy. I also love that I can now accept credit cards without transaction fees right through the app. Biggest tip, call the leads right away. They told me this when I signed up, but I wasn’t on top of it at first. When I realized how many more jobs I was landing by calling back immediately I kept up with it. They must have made changes since the last review, their customer care team truly looks out for you and I have had no problems with quality leads. Jobs I would never have landed if HomeAdvisor didn’t send the customer to me. Great service. Great app. My business is better than ever and I continue to keep growing.

Home Advisor is HORRIBLE for contractors!!. LISTEN TO ALL OF THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS! THEY ARE ALL TRUE!! If you are a consumer looking for work done in your house then I’m sure home advisor is a fantastic program to use because it’s free. However for the contractor, not so much! You get all these leads that cost you anywhere between $50-$80 a pop and most of the time nobody answers or nothing comes of it because the phone numbers are wrong or disconnected or nobody answers you back. And who gets stuck paying the bill for all of these bogus leads? The contractor! It’s absolutely terrible! We were getting billing statements for upwards of $200-$400 a month because of all of these leads we were getting and nothing came of them. So every month we were losing money because of home advisor. And of course they will not give you credit for a lead that that decides they don’t want to have their project done or that you can’t get through to. So any schmo can go onto HomeAdvisor and say they want something done just to see what contractors are available in the area but not follow through with their project. In the meantime that lead went to five or six contractors and they have to spend the money on that lead and nothing comes of it while HomeAdvisor takes in the dough! Home advisor is such a scam for contractors it’s ridiculous!!!

Don’t waste your money. Home Advisor Pro has been a huge let down when it comes to customer service. As a business owner who’s work is largely effected by the weather they do not take that in to consideration when deciding to credit you for leads missed. We had a month of rainy weather and that lead to us not calling our leads. When we got our bill it was $1,000! When I explained to customer service that we did not call the leads because of the weather and other issues they refused to credit the leads. We are canceling our account but are still expected to pay this $1,000. I just feel like they should work with small business owners more. When work is not being done and leads are not being called we obviously don’t have $1,000 to give them. I figured I may have to pay half of what is due or something to satisfy them, but $1,000 for calls we never made is ridiculous! Their customer service team are trained to be very polite but not budge. So fair warning to other business owners. Do not set your goal too high, you will be forced to pay. I for one am going to pay my account off and get business the old fashioned way.

Terrible service.. As others have said this is terrible 4/10 posts are duds. They send the customer to many different companies and half the time they’re just price shopping and it’s a headache requesting credits back for fake posts. $30 a lead is a ripoff. They’ll also sell your info to third parties. I have been getting calls non stop from scammers trying to set me up for other services I never requested half the time they don’t even know half my info. This happened after signing up. Don’t do it. Lawsuit pending on these effers. Called to cancel and they downgraded my account to free opportunity only. They still charge you $30 something when you say you’re interested in an opportunity but I just get the general location and drop off door hangers all over the neighborhood. Stop being lazy and giving this greedy company your money. I’d like to reiterate years later I keep getting spam calls and people trying to “get me more customers for my business”. Home advisors/ angis is the only app I’ve used that’s like this. They take your info and they sell it. They partner up with very scammy companies. They themselves might be somewhat legit but their partners don’t seem to be. Don’t do it.

Great platform/ no integrity. Home-advisor is a great platform, and we have no issue locking in jobs. The issue comes from getting fake/poor leads. It’s hit or miss, sometimes up to 80% of the leads can be poor leads meaning no one ever picks up or if they do they instantly hang up. You have to pay for the lead no matter what and you only get a allowance of one or two credits per week. I don’t think it’s the customer fault it’s the way the system is set up. Home advisor lures in customer by saying find out how much your project will cost, just fill out this information. So most people end up selling there information and start getting million calls from contractors because home advisor just sold there Information. They will sell the information $45-$130 plus dollar's to 3-4 other contractors. I think if they sold you genuine leads then the platform would be 100% worth it. Also it depends on demographics. I bet this system works better in some other demographics. The bad is home advisor doesn’t give a crap if it’s a fake lead or not, they will not credit you the money. At the end of the day the contractor has to charge more to the real paying customers.

A bunch of crooks. The app is helpful but the Angi service in general is unsatisfactory from a pro perspective. They charge for leads that aren’t legitimate and won’t give refunds. They have sent leads over an hour after the customer submitted it at which time the customer already called another company. When I have called the customer within 30 seconds of receiving a lead and the person’s spouse had already called another company without communicating with their spouse, they wouldn’t give refunds. They give credit for two leads per month for free, then you have to call and argue about it for 10 minutes, then ask for a supervisor, wait on hold for a while longer, talk to the supervisor for 5 minutes and finally they’ll give credit for a lead that shouldn’t have been charged in the first place to anyone with a little sense. So if you like to argue on the phone constantly and spike your stress level to maximum, this is a great service. Angi / HomeAdvisor service is only beneficial to the customer and to Angi. There is no value for the professional. Get signed up for Google Local Services Ads instead.

Needs to improve. HomeAdvisor started off good with giving leads and giving credit for customers that never answered. After a couple month with HomeAdvisor I started to notice they stopped giving credit where credit should be given... We have had multiple leads that NEVER answered their or returned our call. Also had customers who scheduled themselves for service and when we call to confirm appointments they wanted to know what was wrong or why their door failed without us going out to see. When we will tell customers have to see the door first they respond with “okay, I’ll call you back” and they instead cancel. When I bring up my concerns to HomeAdvisor they respond with “We don’t give credits for customers not answering or not returning calls”. They also do not give credit for customers who schedule a visit but then later on cancel. Some leads can be $13 for standard leads or $20 for a customer scheduling themselves. I see now how HomeAdvisor makes their money... I’ve talked to multiple door companies who also think HomeAdvisor needs to give credit where credit is due but HomeAdvisor will NEVER do that because they are not interested in helping contractors, they want to make money for themselves PERIOD. This is my reason for giving them a 2 star rating.

Waste of time and money.. Angie’s lofty claim that the leads are well qualified is not true. Also, their sales reps are vague about the terms and will tell you anything to get you on the platform. After that it’s Wild West. Neither of my leads answered the phone or emails. Several had little information and didn’t even match my services as I customized them on my profile. And the final drop was a $100 scammer lead which took 30 min of my time. I was promised 100% satisfaction guarantee or a full refund. After 41 days on the platform and $665 down the drain later, I was told by a rather unfriendly customer service representative that they never refund the membership fees and the lead credit only applied if you contacted 80% of your leads with an hour or receipt. Misleading at best (pun intended). Besides poor quality of leads and customer service, as a home improvement professional who often works in the field, you will need to hire someone to monitor and contact leads right away and pay them overtime to make calls at night and on weekends when most leads come in if you ever want to receive credit for bad ones.

Awful.. Biggest problem is there is no “quality control” of leads or opportunities. For instance, a homeowner can select “handyman” service for anything, and the lead will be sent to “handymen.” But let’s say that service is installing a new outlet and wiring it into the breaker box. This is not legal to do unless you are a licensed electrician. Yet you will still be charged a “lead fee” and could also potentially waste time in your day figuring out this person actually needs an electrician. Sure they will refund you on 2 of these each month but I’ve already had 5 in one month. The truth is most homeowners don’t understand the types of licenses and permits needed to do simple tasks so Angis list needs to have someone that filters through these homeowners requests and actually get them sent where they need to be sent. Or some lawsuits will happen when a handyman goes and performs a major electrical job and gets seriously injured or dies because of it. Also feels like a scam when most of the leads don’t ever reply to you at all. Don’t sign up awful app will not be adding any account funds after running out my current amount, would rate 0 stars if possible

Contractors...Get ready to pay. This service is much needed & a good way to reach a larger customer base. However, it is way too front loaded with fees for it to be practical to use. There is the initial membership fee of $287 which you get nothing for except your membership. & the fees mount from there. I was immediately charged a lead fee just for looking at my own page as a potential customer. When I spoke with customer service (which took a long time) I was told that fee would be refunded. That was nearly 3 weeks ago & still no refund. I hadn’t even had the opportunity to build my profile or get reviews from customers or get any real leads on work & I was already in to Home Advisor for over $300. This app might be very useful for homeowners looking for pro contractors but as a contractor it’s a scam. Online help is polite & friendly but not very effective. I’ve been given a runaround about charges to my account. I’m sure this service would have found me some work but I simply can’t afford to be dishing out nearly $40 every time a potential customer even checks out my profile. The fee system needs an overhaul. I don’t mind paying a referral fee but to be charged solely on the potential of work is a rip off.

Terrible Service DO NOT USE. I decided to give their service a try even based on the reviews it has. But working with them has been terrible. I repeatedly asked a question to the representative who was helping us at the time multiple times which she responded with the same answer each time. Keep in mind the response to this question was vital to if we were going to move forward with their services. After we joined charge after charge was applied even without use of the app even if you “pause” it. I called to cancel because we were lied to by the representative after asking multiples times about extra charges. They wouldn’t work with us on dropping the charges. And wouldn’t allow us to cancel their services unless the outstanding balance was paid. We didn’t want to deal with their terrible services anymore so we paid it. We were told that this payment was the FINAL payment. And that within 24 hours we would be receiving an email confirming the the cancellation with the final payment paid. So to our surprise now we’re being charged an extra $300 after they claim that the payment for the final payment was declined. No one communicated this to us at all, and our bank statements state otherwise as well as the statement on their webpage. I recommend that you don’t bother with this company it’s been a horrible experience and just a flat out head ache.

Instant business. The app works great for a small business like mine. I clean windows and gutters. Lots of small jobs and some big ones. I’m a one man show for now. I have some friends with bigger businesses that haven’t done so well on HA. Lots of expensive leads and not a whole lot of actual business. But it works for me. I just really try to stay on top of my leads. Drop what I’m doing and respond right away. Pause leads whenever I can’t drop what I’m doing to make a call or when my schedule is booked out more than a few days. People like that I don’t have to schedule them three weeks out. Often I can do their job w/in a few days. I win most of the jobs that I pay for. And oftentimes the lead turns into more work with the neighbors, etc. Or, a gutter lead will become a window washing lead also. 2 for 1. I don’t like how they won’t give me the contacts phone #; I have to ask them for their #. Which seems kind of petty on HA’s part. Come on HA you are making a lot of money off of us!

Don’t do it!. The service and app is a great idea too bad it’s ran by the wrong people. They lie to you and say it’s all customizable to your needs. That’s not the case, I was set to receive 2 leads a week due to being busy with some other jobs. They sent 2 leads and then followed that with 6 additional leads within the next 2 days. “Target spend limit” is more or less how much free money you want to give them. All the leads sent to me were bogus! You call and get no answer repeatedly, leave a voicemail, send a email but it doesn’t matter. Even better you call and they say they hired someone already and you can hear the actual work being done over the phone. But you just got the lead within the last 10 minutes. Also like others have stated, you call and it’s for a service or trade work that you do not provide. It’s ok Angi Leads has a credit system where they won’t charge you or give your money back. WRONG. It’s actually an in house credit system where they will send you “free” leads per credit. Also Angi Leads assigns a member to your account to help you start out. Not very helpful when they don’t answer or reply back or send your call straight to voicemail. It’s like they know you’ve caught on to what they’re doing. I hope you read this before moving forward to them. If you don’t believe these horror stories on this review just head over to ripoffreport there’s plenty of the same reviews there.

Love/Hate relationship. Very much agreed with other reviews about the high percentage of expensive bogus leads. As a business trying to get established in a new state we have not worked before, the good leads have been helpful enough to keep paying for them for the moment. However, there is a high percentage of expensive leads that are legitimately due credit. HomeAdvisor customer service is nonexistent once they hook you in to the membership. Its a constant, almost daily, arm wrestling match to simply get credit for leads that you can never get hold of after multiple attempts, people request a service that you don’t perform, etc. If you have pay $100-$150 to simply get a phone number, is it too much to ask that you should at least get to speak to the people?!? They change the goal post on you constantly when it comes to trying to get credit. I’m more than willing to pay for good leads, and not looking to game the system. They are just very unreasonable when it comes to reasonable requests for credit. Beware! Expect a high maintenance service that you have to keep your eye on constantly. And yes, I will ditch them as soon as my business is established.

You live and you learn. I wanted to give this zero stars, but I had to give it one to post this .This application needs improvement, but they failed to do it. You start off with paying $300 for a membership, then you have to pay for a lead right off the start instead of giving you a courtesy five leads to get you used to the system. instead, they swindle you in with saying if you don’t close any deals on your first 10 Leads you get your money back for the membership only. The leads range from $30-$60 even up to 80 so those 10 leads will add up quickly costing you more than the membership. I asked that they simply update the application with allowing me to turn my lead off until I want to turn them back on, but they don’t want to do it. Instead, you can select 14 days to pause your leads, and they recommend set yourself a Reminders to pause them again. They can simply update the application to allow me to turn them on whenever I want. I had to guess you were my leads turned on at midnight and I got two leads over night, that I did not win. it is what it is you live and you learn.

Know before you go!. First thing first. Please keep in mind that HomeAdvisor owns 75% of the market share. Don’t go into this being greedy, you will loose your pants and your shirt!... this is only for Business owners who are trying to reach new customers without depending on just words of mouth. Have a budget and stick to it. Not all leads are ready to HIRE! but you are paying for 100% of the leads you are receiving from HomeAdvisor. Customers are coming to HomeAdvisor for 2 reasons. 1.) is the rating. They want to see how many stars are you holding. 2.) is the reviews. They want to hear what other customers (strangers) are saying about you and the service you provide. To be successful at this you need to have patience, experience in sales and customer service. Good luck. Be careful. Have fun and STAY ON TOP OF YOUR ACCOUNT DAILY. Always look at your billing statement. HomeAdvisor give you a monthly budget but they charge you weekly for the numbers of your monthly budget... lol... STAY ON TOP OF YOUR ACCOUNT DAILY. Don’t be afraid to pause.... you welcome!

Very expensive. I recently opened my company the first week I was very excited because I was getting calls, then the second week I noticed how bad and how expensive is this company. I thought I was working by myself, but I end up working for them, not everyone answers the phone and most of the times they planing a budget, which for you as a company owner, you have to pay for every single lead you get, but that is not the problem is that no matter how fake leads you GET, they don't give a credit for anything only a few times. I thought it was going to be a easy way to get customers and get some cash, but it was not as I expected, I spend almost 3000 in one month only for leads, out those 3000 they only gave a credit for 500 and my profit on that month was only 1000, that is ridiculous, you shouldn't spending more in marketing that you are getting. By the way I was only one month with this company, so I was ”smart enough” to cancel my membership before I start spending more. I hope this is helpful for you if you are starting a new business. BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THE LEADS, THEY ARE EXPENSIVE AND YOU PROBABLY GET JOB 1 BETWEEN 10 LEADS YOU GET.

Owner. The system needs to have better questions to the consumers. Angi needs to make the consumer’s more aware of pricing and also make aware that a contractor is busy and can’t get them in got a job in the next two days. A ton of these people have that expectation that a contractor can get them scheduled and job done in 2 days of the lead. While there expectations is insane that lead cost me $90 and two outs of my limited time! Majority of these people are just tire kickers and putting looking for a quote but not really looking to spend the money, but all that does is waste my time and my money. The leads cost way too much money for tire kickers. All sizzle but the waiter dropped my steak on the floor stepped on it spit on it to wash it off then served it to me. This is how I feel I am being done as your client for the leads your sourcing to me. And the phone calls the contractor needs a direct number to call the client. This lead number is awful. It comes up scam likely on most people phone and they won’t answer now because of your system it cost me a $100 in a lost lead. You make money while I get robbed. Also when I try to call off the app the number won’t even connect.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. Every couple weeks you’ll be flooded with 15-20 leads in a 1-2 day period to get you to your “spend target,” with at least a third of them that won’t answer the phone even when you call them minutes after they submit the job listing. If the remaining leads, several will be people who aren’t actually looking to get work done/competitors ‘testing the system’ and only about 15-20% will be actual jobs you’ll compete for. GIVE YOUR PRICE AND HOLD FIRM, I’ve only been with Angi for about 2 months and have had several jobs I’ve competed for and lost that called me in afterwards to redo other Angi contractors’ work that promised the world for pennies to win the job. Customer support from Angi is awful- they don’t give out 95% of lead refunds that you should be getting, the support team answers all of your questions with the same evasive answer, and there’s no transparency on how to submit your complaints to anyone who’s responsible for making changes within the company. Turn your leads off immediately and only take do the interest-based job bidding if you are going to join.

I hope this review helps make a decision. Ok let me explain what no one explains, i used to get calls all the time to join home advisor and they would call me daily until one day they were having a promotion where you pay $100 and they give you $300 worth in leads, now this leads you have to fight over with other companies they’re not only for you as they told me, their leads keep on coming in (pretty much every time you get a notification they’re charging you)and they keep taking money regardless of wether you talk to customer or not. Once your $300 in leads wears out ( 2 or 3 days) they keep sending you more and more and then they take hundreds out of your account without telling you or letting you know you’ve ran out of lead money so they’ll just keep billing you hundreds until you cancel your payments with the bank. I’ve tried reaching the guy that bothered me for months to join. I mean I would get calls on weekends and at all times and when I finally decided that I didn’t want this anymore no one answered, no one responded to my emails or my calls or my texts to cancel I even paused the leads and they still coming in. I would rather use thumbtack it’s the same thing but at least they tell you when you’re running out of money.

Awful Results. I've been with angi's for almost 3 months now and I'm afraid to even leave my leads on because I'm more likely to lose money than make money. Although my first couple weeks were good, it has been on a constant decline. I call the customers as soon as I receive the lead and still about 75% of the leads don't even answer the phone. I leave voicemails, email them and try to call a couple more times and get no answer. I know it may not be angi's fault and they do try to give me credit when possible, but these calls fall under the category of "customer isn't serious about the work" and then they claim there's nothing they can really do. It's unfortunate because I have been connected with great customers who leave reviews and have used my services again. Maybe it's the area I'm in and there's a lot of competition seperate from angi's, but I just don't see how it's possible to rely on this platform for work and stay profitable. Out of the 20 leads I've received so far I've only done 5 jobs through them. A couple were wrong tasks and the rest simply just didn't pick up the phone. I'm just at the point where it's not even worth using angi's anymore.

Took a massive dive. I used Home Advisor for a few years. I was the top contractor in my area for my industry. Reviews. The whole nine yards. Once Angi List melted in to the mix. Absolutely every angle fell apart. The lead quality became a joke. I do mold. I would get leads asking to move a refrigerator. And customer service would deny the credit request. Customer service is non existent, and they ultimately get you on a phone with someone that says they aren’t liable for whatever issue you’re having. My last issue, 2 reps hung up the phone mid problem solving. 4 more said they would have a supervisor call me back. For 4 straight days. Nobody ever did. It’s a true shame. I remained as loyal as I could. But all you get is the “I completely understand” speech and no action to resolve your concerns. Even at the top of the food chain. When I closed my account. I got an email asking me to reactivate my and they would give me a whopping 3 free leads. Not to mention the years of low quality leads and credit request denial money essentially being robbed from my business account. When this was Home Advisor. It was amazing. Truly helpful and advantageous. Now with the Angi merger. You might as well look some place else. As I have had to do.

Not happy. I’ve spent over $1,000 in my few months with homeadvisor. And out of all those leads I’ve only gotten 2 jobs. Majority of the leads I get are bogus or overpriced. Most of the customers just want questions answered and they’re not interested in actually getting work done yet. So I end up paying for leads with no chance of work so I’m losing money from the jump. Also, I’m sent the same leads other companies get. To me it’s a scam. Also, it gives you the option to request a credit for leads, but it’s almost impossible to have them approved. I’m sent a lead, I call the customer, then they say their buddy will do the work. I apply for credit and I’m told I’m no eligible. I feel like home advisor is just taking hundreds of $$$ from me and it’s not leading to work. A lot of leads are sent to me that don’t even pertain to the work I do. I’m not happy and I will be leaving home advisor shortly for bid clerk. At least at bidclerk, the leads are verified. They call the lead to confirm the type of work before charging contractors for them. Thus resulting in less bogus leads paid for by small businesses trying to get ahead during the economical decline.

Unreachable leads. Being credited for leads who are unreachable is has been nearly impossible. About 10-15% of leads home advisor provides give bogus contact information. Many of these unreachable leads are merely price shopping with no intent on scheduling an inspection. I’ve tried getting credit for these but these requests are categorically dismissed with some ruse “I talked with my supervisor and they said they couldn’t”. You really have no forum to fairly arbitrate bogus charges. Including the 15% bogus lead charge every month my capture rate is about half. This leaves barely enough meat on the bone to make it worthwhile. I’ve been a great source of cash flow for Home Advisor. My perfect 5 star review (regional leader) reflects credit on the caliber of Home Advisors service pro line-up. I’m one of the stars in their crown, I would sure like to be treated that way. The business relationship between myself and Home Advisor is becoming increasingly less equitable. Lead fees were raised exponentially after the first year, and with no recourse to arbitrate bogus leads I’m being taken advantage of.

Leads. Still experiencing the same issue we've had for a year now. The majority of the leads do not respond even when we do the direct connect, several have inaccurate information ranging from bad contact number to the location not being in the area we service, we had requests for services not by the homeowner, and a few have been requesting services we do not offer. All customers who we are unable to reach, are called multiple times, sent multiple emails, as well as multiple text messages. When we address this issue we’re told to request a credit. However, when we request the credit, we are treated as we're being unreasonable and the majority have to be reviewed before being denied. If these leads were accurate and the customer would respond, paying would not be an issue. As a contractor, if the customer is not responding, how do we know this lead is actually a lead and not a test lead? In all fairness, contractors should only pay for the leads that respond. If the contractor is not actively pursuing the customer, it would be understandable to deny the requested credit.

3.5. The concept of Angi Leads is great, but the leads need to be cheaper. If price cannot be lowered on the leads, then we should be able to receive credit for all the bogus and meaningless leads we pay for without needing review. I have paid between $35-$45 for numerous leads that either: a) the customer doesn’t answer or reply at all. b) the customer is months and months away from needing my service. c) the customer is calling for repairs on work done by a previous contractor through Angi Leads d) customer is looking for a job worth around $2k with a budget of $800. 🤷🏻‍♂️. why should i have to pay for this lead when this customer is not prepared to spend the money required for my product? another thing i dont like is the app always fails even when i am on strong connections, so when a lead comes in and I use the link in the text message from Angi Leads to contact the customer it DOES NOT register as me calling the customer. so when the customer doesn’t answer or gives us a ridiculous question and we have to decline, we cannot get credit for this since Angi Leads doesn’t record this call. SO WHY PUT A LINK ON THE TEXT TO CALL?? Honestly the rating would be lower and I already have strongly considered canceling my account with Angi Leads, BUT i will say that their customer service representatives have always been considerate and professional in my opinion, so i really appreciate their help when I run into certain frustrations with the service.

Gimmicky / Poor Customer Service. Angi Pro Leads as a service provider has been a horrible experience. Ever since they acquired Home Advisor, things have gone downhill in a hurry. Their customer service is a joke and the majority of leads they send you (and immediately charge your payment method on file) are rarely accurate to the services scope you select in your profile. For example, we are a large remodeling company. Our services scope on Angi Pro Leads is limited to "Major Home Renovation - Multiple Rooms" but we are sent - and charged for - leads where someone needs a window caulked or a door hung because they're too heavy to lift. We request a credit for these leads because they are completly unrelated to our lead scope selected in our profile; however instead of Angi acknowledging they are sending us bad leads and not vetting them prior to sending them to us (and charging us for them), they argue with you and say your "ineligible for a credit." It's deeply fustrating to say the least. If Angi continues to operate in such a manner, they're setting themselves up for a nice Class Action Lawsuit. I'm sure we're not the only company that's beyond frustrated.

Fine for Leads - Terrible App Terrible Service. I have a contentious relationship with Home Advisor or Angi or Angi Leads or whatever they’re calling it now. Sure, it gives me a reasonable amount of useful leads per month but every single lead is $25+ dollars now compared to $10-14 last year. The app is absolutely the worst app I have on my phone. I hate it but I have no other option. It is a broken web view wrapped in an app package. When you try to open the app to view a lead that just came in sometimes it spins for 45 seconds before any information comes up. Sometimes you can’t call people. Sometimes all of your leads disappear. Never consistently only sporadically. Also, if you read the review this far just know that if you stop paying Home Advisor $300 a year they delete every review you have on their platform. I amassed many reviews before realizing that they were all locked in. I would’ve known that I would’ve never put a review on Home Advisor. Service Professionals Beware.

But...Is there a better lead source?. Most of these reviews speak of our mixed experience as a multi-trade repair and remodel contractor - high percentage of ‘worthless’ leads; waste of time lead fee credit requests; etc. - BUT...we have investigated several other options and eventually they all fall short of what HA has created in these past few years. As one other reviewer stated, once you ‘master’ the controls on your application/account you can manage your lead costs to limit the ‘worthless’ leads problem. HA’s marketing efforts on broadcast media has raised the name recognition awareness factor tremendously and it has shown in lead generation and customer confidence levels notably. I say they are the best option available currently and learning how to manage how they profit from you, the contractor, is your unforeseen/unwanted time expense and responsibility...but I can say that that is the same with all of the lead generation brokers. We are staying on board and are silently grateful for HA.

Glitches in this app. The reason why I am giving a three star rating is because I have problems with this app since it went to Angie’s list. When I choose a job it takes a while before I could even click on it. When I wanna answer a customer it does not allow me to do it. It makes me wait until the glitch is over then I could talk to the customer. When I do get to speak to the customer it is too late because this app freezes too much and then somebody else picks up the job. It does not except my customers reviews as well. Every time a customer wants to do a review it does not allow them to do so. Please address this issue. I called a complaint about it but nothing is being done.

RUN AND NEVER LOOK BACK!!!!. There aren’t enough words in the dictionary for how awful my experience has been with Home Advisor. They continue to take your money time and time again whether the lead is good or bad or bogus, whether you contact or don’t contact whether you won the job or didn’t win the job! Just charge after charge after charge after charge!!!!!!!!! If you request a refund it gets denied. This has got to be the BIGGEST racket in AMERICA right now. If I charged anyone for something I didn’t do that would be dishonest and stealing! Well this is what this company is doing and it’s truly Disgusting in my opinion. The idea/concept is great but you can’t keep charging contractors if they aren’t doing or getting the jobs or even if they can’t get a hold of the customer! Charges/LEADS should only be should only be charged if you WIN THE JOB PERIOD!!!!! There are waaaay to many false leads and we get charged for them! Anyways I’m off my soap box. Home Advisor y’all have a great idea but y’all really need to work out your charging of the contractor and your customer service! Ok I’m done!!

ITS A SCAM. The sales rep who repeatedly called me trying to sell me Angi Leads was successful. I spent $750 for $1000 of ad credit. I asked him several times if I could get a refund for the service if I don’t use the add credit I was told yes several times that I could get my 750 back if I decided to cancel the service. About a week later after not using the service at all I decided that I wasn’t going to need the service so I requested a refund…. This is where I found out that you only have three days after purchasing the service to get a refund. Not to mention the rude customer service rep repeated himself several times in a mocking way saying to “read the fine print”. Keep in mind 3 days is not nearly enough time to see if the service even works. After talking with fellow contractors in my area they told me the service does not work very well and they end up spending significantly more money. Now I’m stuck spending $750 on a service that I don’t need. Please avoid at all cost. The sales rep will lie to you. PLEASE read the fine print.

Superb. This is a wonderful app! It allows me to do everything in one place (with the exception of adding pictures). You can call, text, and email customers, add notes, set a disposition and more! I love the new billing options for credit card and financing and it offers me a quick way to send an invoice if I need one right away - in the field! I love Angi Leads and I love the Pro app. Since they made the switch from HomeAdvisor I know that they are really working to make the best experience for professionals and customers alike. I would just love to be able to upload pictures on the app, it would be so beneficial for me as a busy professional who can’t always find time to get on the website, but the website is great too! Great job Angi!

Do not give credit when credit is due. Reason for my one star review is I have requested to speak with a customer service representative about 10 times or more and have not received one phone call or even a email. Before I signed up with them they would call me 2-3 times a week bothering the heck out of me while I was trying to work. Also their has been many times where I feel the customer was only price shopping or it was another possible pressure washing company price checking. Reason I believe it was another company price checking is because the address given and the name given did not match the home owners name after I did my research. I have reached out to many customers via phone call, email, and messages through Home Advisor and no return call, email, or anything. I would try to get a credit and they would tell me no. So basically if your new to the industry all you have to do is get the customers address in which you want to get a quote for and post some fake information on here and they will charge me $30 to tell you what to quote on your job. So I end up wasting my money and time helping you grow your business. Oh and did I mention horrible customer service once you become a contractor with them. Also they told me by signing up my SEO would be better for my business. That’s a lie all together because they only advertise for themselves not for the contractor. They need to change the way they do things ASAP or I’m gone!!!

Horrible. I’ve tried cancelling my account for over a month and they keep denying me the right to. Withdrawing from my account with out even taking or answering a job sending me leads and charging me for them while my services are paused. Asked for a long term pause due to refund requests I was given until may 4th but nope I went to check on the profile and email to see if I have received any notifications and come to find out they ended my pause. Continuing to call and charge me for calls not answered account not opened or even set up properly. I understand the concept of setting up a job and charging a fee once you’ve accepted the job but not even answering the call then charging $170 for “2 jobs taken” they were never taken. I’ve never taken a single job from This company and still have yet to hear anything back email or phone. And I’m still trying to cancel my account with no success. As of June 8th 2022 I am still trying to cancel my account and now there are “delinquent funds” that 2 months ago when my account was “cancelled” I was never informed about.

Good and bad. HomeAdvisor can be great if you’re constantly turning off your leads. However being able to only them off for 48 hours on the app and then needing a reason why you’re doing it is ridiculous. It’s basically a trap. I’m a small plumbing company and I do everything.... books, calls, work, etc. In my busy days it’s often I don’t think oh yea I have to turn my leads off again it’s been 48 hours, and because of that I’ll get ridiculous leads I have to pay for. I got a lead during the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in which nobody could go out and got told by a customer service rep that it’s and I quote “not their fault customers are requesting work.” I was blown away he even said that. So needless to say my request to be credited got denied. You would think that a credit of $45 would be less important than the $200 you pay as a contractor to be part of HomeAdvisor. I will really weigh the pros and cons when my year is up and decide whether or not to rejoin.

Has gotten worse for the Contractor. I have been with Home Advisor for over 10 years. They were at least a decent company. The issue has always been getting refunds for bad leads, but they were at least I will say decent. Since converting over to Angies, it has gone way downhill! Most of the leads, the far majority, are bogus leads for me as an electrical contractor. When I try to get credit, at least 80% of the time they don’t give it to me. I hope they change, but if anything, they’re getting worse! They seem to just troll the Internet for anyone looking for anything regarding electrical work, and then post it as one of their leads. I’ve actually had customers say that they did not post anything on Angies, but they were just looking online, and Angies took it as a lead, and I had to pay $100 for that lead! I’ve considered quitting many times, but I have not yet found anyone else that has integrity. The one or two projects out of 10 that are decent still are worth their high fees. Frustrating!!

I can’t believe all the reviews! These people are scammers/fraud!. When I signed up for Angie’s lead I paid $750 this gave me a credit of $1,000 I’ve been with Angi for 3 months now and I have 13 leads. Per lead you have to pay $75-$170 with the average being $110. Oh did I forget to tell you there are 5 other contractors that’s paying for that same lead. My company has lost over 600 dollars so far without gaining a single profit. The money is non refundable so $750 of company money is gone. In the beginning when they sell you on the account they tell you about this thing “Win with Angi guarantee”. This is supposed to refund you all of your money if you haven’t made any profits after 10 leads. Well I’m on number 13 and they refuse to release my money saying that there’s no such thing as “Win with Angi guarantee”. So when I asked to speak to a supervisor they tell me “we will review the call for training purposes”. I’m like you’re not going to review it for fraudulent activity? I’ve been scammed and they couldn’t care any less.

Dallas Bouchard. HomeAdvisor has come along way!! I’m a small business owner in particular a painting contractor. I’ve had some great leads that made me a good deal more money then the amount I was initially charged. I’ve been impressed with HomeAdvisor’s customer service that seems to have gotten better with time. My advice to any small timers out there who are using Home Advisor is WORK your leads best you can with clients if it’s a bad lead which yeah it happens people are filling something out on the internet... Do your part to EXPLAIN the situation to customer service if the little guy answering the phone can’t help you. Ask to speak with someone who can better assist you. Be polite they are doing their job same as you doing yours. At the end of the day they have always worked with me as a contractor to refund a bad lead. As far as lead programs go HomeAdvisor is to notch.

Leads for incorrect service, no credits poor customer service. I’m gonna say this that it was great to get our business up and going but it’s time to say goodbye. After dealing with customer service on numerous occasions and unwilling to make it right it’s evident that they are in it for just the money. We have had several leads for services that we don’t do. After requesting a credit due to that it gets denied so we have to call customer service everytime. Then when we talk to somebody and. Tell them the issues; they try negotiate a cost reduction. Instead of crediting us the the whole amount. I’n other instances they said they need to verify with home owner if in fact they chose the wrong service and Every-time they say they can’t get ahold of the home owner it gets completly denied for a credit. I’m just tired of throwing away our hard earned money to bogus leads, incorrect lead services. I’m all for And understand that are mistakes but the fact they take no responsibility for it is why I’m saying goodbye.

Review of App, Not Company. Note - pay attention to the reviews here as most seem to poorly rate the company (and rightly so a huge chunk of the time). However, App Store reviews are for app performance and functionality, which is what I am reviewing. As apps go, this one isn’t bad. It allows you to do just about everything you can with your home advisor leads. The reason I give the app 4 stars and not 5 is because the app does not allow you access to customer messages sent via HomeAdvisor. You still have to go to a browser for that, seems like an easy add to the app, and it is inconvenient as most lead work is done for us on the road. Adding that functionality would be ideal. The credit process could also be improved and allow users a little more flexibility on credit requests. It would appear most bad reviews here are for home advisor as a company. For the most part I agree with that. The app, however, is just fine.

Angie Prices. The prices for Angie’s leads are ridiculous I do the painting for interior of homes First of all you got to take five or six or seven leads just to get a good one for somebody to respond to you and call you back they know you got to be the first one to call the people they get to people if it’s a good Lead and everybody else that’s calling after that it’s just wasting money most of the time then the lead prices are extremely too high you shouldn’t have to pay over $100 for any lead you six or $700 in the hole before you even get it a job The price list should be half of whatever they charge five rooms plus $100. Three to four rooms $50-$75 1 to two rooms $35 that should be the price list not the high prices that they charge you it’s ridiculous The bottom line you got a buy too many leads just to get one customer and you are already priced in the hole $600 or $700 before you even get one person to buy it’s just ridiculous

Comments on the TV about the estimated actual pricing numbers. Everything seems to be OK but the only thing I am starting to be very disappointed that is you want people to get comparative shopping but I don’t think you realize that obviously companies in New York have a much higher overhead and therefore the numbers could be A whole lot higher due to overhead insurances and just general maintenance on things so I think you have to come up with a different approach and not make it so difficult for all the different contractors it’s enough that they already have 3 to 4 companies to choose from now they are getting bombarded with pricing and it is not fair for the companies that do have higher overheads such as locations areas and the like. Also I have now been having issues with you guys charging ridiculous prices on low income areas it doesn’t make sense a good example would be Rockway at $43 a lead and East Northport at $29 it’s starting to get ridiculously expensive for the quality of the lead as well

Be prepared to open your wallet !. Most of the other contractor reviews are accurate. I was contacted by Home Advisor and really sold hard to sign up. I average one good lead for every three (prices range from $21-$71. With most of mine being around $51. So when you have to cover the cost of three leads with one job that’s $153 extra you need to charge the customer!) As some of the other reviews state, many of the lead customers won’t even answer the phone or return a call, text or email. Then you have to fight with Home Advisor to get credit for these bogus leads. Which you don’t always win. (This was NEVER disclosed when I signed up.). How good are leads when you can’t even talk to the prospective customer??? Home Advisor needs to learn to take better care of their contractors, because without the contractors there would be no service to sell to the customer. What’s going to happen is that Home Advisor is going to continue to lose good and reputable contractors.

Great service for marketing without a lot of upfront costs. I have used HomeAdvisor(Now Angie’s Leads) for 3 years now. I read a lot of bad reviews, but what every business owner needs to understand, marketing cost money. Yes I spend on average $30+ per lead and some of those leads are bad. When factoring in bad leads I don’t get credit for, my real cost per lead might be $50+. However, I make a very good return and that is why I stay with Angie’s Leads. Now before signing up with HomeAdvisor, I would mail out flyers. I did very well with flyers, but my cost per lead was a whole lot more than $50+. Most homeowners would throw the flyer out. I got a response from a very small percentage of the flyers sent out, but the ones I got a response from made up for the thousands of flyers I got no response from with a good return. The bottom line is both marketing strategies work, but sending flyers out takes a whole lot more upfront money than Angie’s Leads.

I had the worst experience. I first wanna say I had the worst experience as a roofing contractor now would I say this is a scam no because I have a lot of friends that are on here but here’s my experience on why I’m so upset I sign up for the service and pour out a bunch of money I set my max budget at 500 I received a bunch of leads out of like 13 90% of them was fake disconnected numbers 5% of people saying they don’t even own a home 4% of them was saying come tomorrow then calling me telling me don’t come I have someone else I only looked at one real job the rest was fake I reported theses leads never got back my lead credits a week goes by Angi leads tells me I’m 1500 over draft even tho my monthly budget was only $500 The customer service is terrible everyone telling me that they can’t help me there’s nothing they can do there’s no way they can do anything for my company I have to pay $1500 Here’s what happen after 2/3 months of nonstop calling and me trying to fix this One lady said we are able to give you a discount you have to wait for a email her name is Rebecca shas days goes by without receiving a email I call back to ask how much is the discount they said to wait for the email 3 days later they said my account is in collects I said how I was waiting on a email they said not there fault so yep bad service I really just want a fresh do over someone help

Ecoland owner. I don’t like when I ask for something and they don’t give me what I looking for but when I speak with customer service, I tell everything that I need and that I want and they say yes we can do all that we’re gonna put it in your profile, but I just check my profile today about six months that I subscription and I noticed on my profile they just say concrete and landscaping design when I do a lot of more than those two things now I wanna turn on the other ones that I do and they wanna talk to customer service that I believe they want to charge me extra for that but I agree with that company they tell you nice and beautiful things so they can close you and your business actually not your business your money and I hope they have my conversations when I get the subscription and here everything that the guy told me and what I say and what I agree with that’s not fair I’m not too big I tried to get Customers but I don’t have them a lot of money like another companies that they kind of spend with you guys and they don’t respect what you say

Home advisor pro app. For the most part home advisor has helped grow my business, but when I start getting more leads than I can get to, there seems to be a problem getting the lead fee credit even though I have my leads turned off. So I’m paying the fee without getting the job. My business is in good standing and I have a high rating so I should be able to get credit on a lead if I request it, regardless of the reason. I stay very busy and don’t really have the time to argue with customer support each time I request a lead fee credit. This is a review I wrote some time ago and the situation has not improved, is anyone reading these? If you call me please leave a message if I don’t answer, like I said I’m too busy to argue over lead fees, but I will return your call if it means I can get some resolution on this issue.

Locksmith. They have been calling my small business left and right below in my phone with a representative please get us back in track we have change please pay $300 to set up and spend it for one year of the service but also every time someone will try to call you or actually it would just be a lead we will charge you between $14-$20 just for a lead does not mean that it’s going to be a job we are thieves and our name is Home Advisor. I will never use this company again I already spend about $600 on leads and on their initial charge was not even able to retrieve my money with jobs I have done this is the worst concept ever highly recommend to stay away from itVery important they recycle leads from other companies like Andy’s least you will get charged $20 from jobs and leads on Angie’s list which got submit it couple hours before zero chance is closing these jobs spend your money wise on Yelp or Angie’s List directly or Thumb Tack or Google Home Advisor is just the worst of the worst concept for any small or even medium size business

Beware. They charge you for every lead whether you get the job or not, often times you cannot contact the person because they don’t answer or respond to emails, text messages or phone calls, or they say they already had the job done or hired somebody else or changed their mind. When you request a credit from home advisor they have all kinds of rules you have to follow to be eligible, less than 25% of leads are any good. The average cost per lead is $50-$75. My first month I ran up a bill of over $5000 I asked for a refund but they only offered me a $1000 credit toward future leads. They told me they don’t give refunds and if I cancel my account I will not be able to receive a credit. I did get some good jobs but often times the frustration of dealing with home advisor was not worth it. I stuck with it only so I could get a credit and to make back the money that I spent for the leads.

Good service but but awful at returning bad lead credits. Like the heading says they give you credit on the first couple of bad leads but after that they just deny the request without any information. The top reason they list for a credit is “could not get ahold of customer” I’ve called some people at least 4 times on multiple occasions and they don’t respond. Then try to get credit and it gets denied immediately without explanation. Lots of people just looking for pricing for future projects but you still pay $40-$70 and like I said HA doesn’t understand that they just continue charging for that garbage. That being said I did give the service 4*s because as an electrician my phone rings nonstop with about 66% of the leads are quality and are money makers!!! It’s def worth the money!! I just wish I only had to pay for leads on jobs I actually speak to the customers

On The Fence. I’ve been with HomeAdvisor for a while and I do get some good leads from them and they do a ton of marketing on your behalf I get leads from both the actual service for which I pay a lead fee and I also get leads from there listing services on there directories so there services work However I too have recently started to see an uptick in bogus leads where I answer the call and get connected right away and the number is out of service??? How can that be !!! And I’ll email them and no response And I when I do get a legitimate lead and I’m talking to the customer and they complain about the HomeAdvisor process they tell me they had ten contractors calling them and 8 of them were not local some In excesses of 80 miles away I’m left speechless as I was told that the lead went to no more then 5 local contractors and I think 5 is excessive!!! And I define local as within a 20 mile radius of there location I find that customers are being overwhelmed by the amount of contractors calling them that are not local pro’s and they stop responding to anyone from HomeAdvisor You guys REALLY REALLY need to fix this it’s ruining the integrity of your HomeAdvisor service it’s getting you tons of negative reviews from pro’s with bad leads and customers are being harassed by an overwhelming amount of phone calls and your making us become an annoying telemarketer in the customers eyes Thanks for listening and good luck and happy hunting guys

Owner. We started our construction company in April of 2021. At first I was looking at reviews of what other peoples experience’s they had with Angie’s leads and there were a lot of bad ones so I almost did not sign up. My sales man Michael Hutcheon made me an offer I could not refuse so I signed up and 8 months later my Business is booming with clients and opportunity’s. I am not going to lie not all the leads are great there are a lot of people that don’t realize that inquiring cost us money. However there are a lot of homeowners that are really looking for a good contractor to take care of there needs. And it is worth it to take the good ones and deal with the other ones. I Roberto Varela Jr. with Varela Engineering strongly recommend to try it out and Join Angie’s list for the pro’s!!!

Tree justice. This company is the worst when starting a company. Our representative is Kimberley Selgrad. We paid one time every month. They ASSURED we would get 28 leads a month (all conversations are recorded so they know they did). We got FIVE a month MAX. After our year was up I tried canceling their services (they technically never provided) and they said they actually automatically renewed it already and there was nothing they could besides cancel it and charge 35% of what we “owed” left. To automatically renew a contract they have to send an email or first class mail before 30 days of the renewal. They can’t forward me the email that was supposedly sent and I can’t find it. When they sent me their IT’s version of the email they sent two copies with TWO different time stamps! They do not even have their story together on their side. I will be writing reviews everywhere I can and also contacting the BBB. I now have to pay over a thousand dollars for a service I didn’t even get in the first place. DO NOT CHOOSE ANGIES LIST OR HOMEADVISOR.

Credits. They are an amazing company apart from the fact that it is next to impossible to receive a credit for a customer who just want answer. There mobile app states you can be credited if you “ tried to reach the home owner multiple times without success” or “if you called the homeowner in 24 hours” or “ if it’s the wrong task and your account must be in good standing. But when I requested a credit for not ever being able to reach homeowner after multiple attempts customer service says they don’t credit for those reason and that she was 150% sorry because she doesn’t know why the app I have (which is their mobile app they send you when you join as a home improvement pro) says I can be credited for those reason. So as it would be for any small business this is extremely frustrating they should fix their mobile app and not advertise that they credit for those reason when they don’t.

Home advisor is a joke. Home advisor as completely screwed me with zero interest in my health issues. They don’t care about their clients only about charging as much as they can. I called to cancel service it was paused for 30 days. I was then Charged 600 dollars in two days for leads that I can’t use because of health issues keeping me from working. When I call to address the issue they had no concern about my health but only getting me to pay the balance before they can cancel service. I literally waisted money on this app. After my initial payment I didn’t know that would be charged for more leads without out my permission. The leads continued to grow and they continued to not care. After fixing the balance the first time but continue to send lore leads that I have explained I can not use. So now after 2 days of being sent leads I CANT USE. they are now telling me I have to pay my balance before they will cancel my service. Home advisor is a joke and only a want to help themselves make more money. As a implant I personally know that customers and clients should be a first priority

Good but.... I am overall pretty happy with the service but a couple things are irritating. One is when I've talked to a contact who is looking for something different than what I'm profiled to do (or the phone number is disconnected) and they don't give a credit about 20-30% of the time. 2 is I have a lot of reviews from non Home Advisor clients that never get posted. I've talked to them and they tell me they have several "awaiting confirmation from the client". I've talked to a lot of the clients that say they've never heard from Home Advisor to confirm the review. Frustrating as I do a lot of non Home Advisor jobs and those reviews never seem to get posted even though Home Advisor gives me a link to get the reviews. Finally, even though I have a territory that's a 50 mile radius, I seem to get jobs that would be over a hundred mile trip one way. Not an easy way to set up my own coverage area that I can see.

Terrible System. At first they make it seem like a great system. They give you credit bonus to get it started and make it seem all good. However many of their leads are just bots, or scams. They do not pick up the phone, and later charge me for it. They give you a credit for the first ones that don’t pick up, but then afterwards they start charging you. You call customer service to try and get an explanation and they end up telling you it is not eligible to get your money back. They don’t give you a refund and instead credits. Which are useless since they will still end up charging you for ones that do not answer. Many of the leads are also sent to over 10 people. Which makes it unfair and a very low chance to even getting a job. In the end it is not worth it all just a fraud, the only people it benefits is themselves. Better of not paying since it is just a waste of money and time. Would give zero stars if possible.

My view as a Vendor. Overall, The app is good. In my opinion, it would be great if it meshed with everything else and updated more quickly. I can turn our leads off and still get calls for 45 minutes to an hour. I don’t feel that there are the correct “reasons “ listed for requesting a credit. My perspective is as a Professional Locksmith. We have great reviews and get so busy that I have to turn leads off often. What I don’t like is not being given a choice as to whether or not we even want to offer same day or emergency service or “ job opportunities “. I have spoken to representatives a couple of times and got exactly nowhere. I would think that, considering the reviews we get, that Home Advisor would value us as a Vendor enough to talk to us and put some actual effort into helping us have an excellent experience with all aspects of Home Advisor

Total SCAM!. I got cold called about joining pro leads after signing up for their basic contractor service. And was lied to straight out of the gate! They said I would be charged $7 for “leads” and said I would be credited when I called the customer back. Not that they charge up to $70 for leads and that it’s just an auto dialer calling me when anyone is price shopping and only once did the customer even answer when I called! They charge you for these supposed “leads” regardless of ever getting the job or even speaking to the customer once!!! There’s a very good reason that there’s a class action lawsuit against this company and that they keep changing their name. All they’re doing is ripping off hard working contractors at a time when customers are having a hard time finding anyone that’s willing to work. I am utterly disgusted with Angi and anyone that falls into their trap needs to immediately report them as fraud to the credit card they use for the billing. Leeches.

Slow. Since the merger/acquisition by Angi’s List, I’ve noticed the app runs slow, freezes up many times, and overall is no longer user friendly. Trying to respond to leads and call customers, the app freezes up and I end up loosing out to another contractor. Really getting frustrated. Developer suggested I delete the app then reload it. I have already done that and still same issues. When you’re on the go and they send you leads, the crap app doesn’t let you contact the customer, makes it difficult to get their phone number and you loose out to competitors who either have office staff or a call center handling their leads. It seems to me in the past few months the leads have gotten worse in quality and I am on the verge of terminating my account. I also use Thumtack and although it’s fewer leads, they seem to be a much higher quality. In the year and ahalf I’ve used Home Advisor, now Angi’s leads, I have made $3 for every $1 spent, but that seems to be getting lower since the merger. Getting credit for junk leads you can never contact is almost impossible. If they were truly a reputable company and wanted to help everyone, you should only pay if you get the job, or at least only pay 1/2 if you don’t. I’ll be monitoring my return on investment closely and if it continues to fall, I’m dropping Angi

Lead fees. I don’t mind the fees and I do think they are a fair price, but when we get a bad lead and request a credit, it’s like pulling teeth. Here are two examples that were really off putting: 1. I got a lead where I called the first number and a guy said wrong number, so I called the second number and same guy answered and cussed me out. Then I added the lead to contacts so I could see the actual number and called it...same guy. Then I sent an email and all within the first hour. Credit request denied. 2. I called a lead and he said something must have went wrong because while he lives by me, he wanted service 2.5 hours away which is obviously not in my area. Credit denied. Then the home advisor associate said, well those type of leads don’t happen often right? Yea, so take $20 out of your pocket a few times a month and see how you like it. Anyway, the business is decent and the reps are usually great, but to have to request, then call, then call again to get money back for a lead which is completely wrong is starting to get tiresome.

Bad leads, no refund. At first home advisor was great with crediting leads after a while they refused to credit leads even if the homeowners never answer. The final straw for me was when I left town for two weeks I asked them to shut off my leads when I returned back into the states I turned on my phone and noticed they never shut them off they failed to refund over $800 and leads that I never contacted or called because I was out of town and did not have service or Internet. I also had one customer out of 25 give me a one star review this customer lied multiple times and I had proof to show it in text messages she had asked for a full refund and said the work wasn’t preformed I have pictures and proof that I preformed Work and the customer was happy and I was paid before I left. HomeAdvisor would take down the false review even after I provided the solution specialist with proof

Charging for contacts that don’t respond at all. It’s a great app but there should not be charges for customers that never respond. If three customers don’t reposed in a period of two weeks, you won’t get your money back for every single customer after that third customer. I pay between 30 and 90 dollars for customers that I never even talk to or get a message from. I always contact them immediately and follow up relentlessly. They never answer. So thus far, I’m breaking even in cost vs revenue. If I wasn’t charged for the customers that don’t respond, then I would be making a profit. Second critique would be that jobs that are up to $200 are literally useless. You will lose a lot of money on small jobs. Shut those leads off. Even if you close the job, you are losing money.

The industry Mafia. 1/5 leads are submitted under the wrong project type and I get stuck holding the bill. For example “framing repair” is the service I offer, and customers constantly submit all types of renovations under this heading. Anything from drywall to tile to deck installs. I do FRAMING. The problem is that phone calls with my customers aren’t recorded even though I use the app. I’ve spoken with customer support and they don’t give credits unless the customer states in an email they messed up. So I have the burden of proof. I lose money because a random homeowner can’t internet. I’ve been a home advisor pro and Angie’s list pro since 2015, it’s really gone downhill. All they care about is money and that won’t keep me around. Update: developer response is not accurate and does not reflect the conversations had with Angi support staff. You do indeed require written proof for invalid leads, or YOUR hard earned money is lost.

Disappointed. Since I signed up with Angie’s list I have gotten some really great feed back from customers I did work for on that same day and we very happy n greatful of our team and how we handled ourselves. I was there when 4 of customer’s did reviews for us and sadly Angie’s leads has not kept up with there commitments of posting reviews… I have been treated unfairly when asking for credit on some leads… Customer’s will look for me directly because we are that good, but it’s a shame that we are not backed up by Angie’s leads… Some properties do not belong to so called customer’s or they didn’t mean to actually sign up to become customer’s, they get online to see how much we tree trimmers actually charge and we don’t credit because they were just inquiring about how much tree trimmers actually charge, that’s all… then we get charged for not even visiting with our customer’s… Not fair especially with everything going up in price… Totally bogus, down right not fair…

Home Advisor ethics questionable. New to Home Advisor and have been more than disappointed. I have to admit I’d been doing research for years before supporting my partner to start his own business and using Home Advisor. The leads are about 1 in 10 being a lead that will turn into actual work. About 25-30% of the leads I call never respond but I have to pay for that lead. No tutorial videos available to new contractors to learn the in and outs of how the system works and how to beat utilize the app. I’ve had this supposed tutorial scheduled twice for my partner and both times HA missed the appointment all together and I never hear from them until I call them about the missed appointment. Seems the company doesn’t really want companies to succeed they only want the lead fees. Wouldn’t the company be best served to educate those that are doing business with so you can improve your brand and your customer service or lack of customer service. I personally want to work with a company I could say is a great company and support 100% and I’m hoping HA will listen and not treat all its customer and it’s clients like just a number.

Robbing the poor contractors blind!. Leads are decent but when you get a lead that costs you $101 dollars and it’s gone out to 5 other contractors just like me then only 1 guy is getting the job and usually you have to bid if low to beat the other 5 companies and then if you don’t win the job then you and the other 4 companies are stuck paying the $101 fdollars just to say hello to the customer. Then the customer is paying Angi/HomeAdvisor also. So they are making money hand over fist but the poor blue collar contractors that’s the one actually doing the work gets stuck with a huge bill each week of paying for leads that didn’t come to fruition. That’s what I have the biggest problem with and probably gonna take legal action against them because to charge 5 people/companies for the same leads knowing that only 1 company will win the job (and that’s only if the customer doesn’t back out after getting the quotes) & that’s greedy and just plain wrong! Shame on you Angi!

Home Adviser IS TRASH!. Home advisor is a complete scam. I am a small business just starting out and as soon as I was listed on line I began being harassed on a weekly basis from them claiming how much they could help grow my business. Eventually I acquiesced and enrolled and gave them a $250 limit. Next thing I know I just kept getting swamped with calls which on its face was beautiful. HOWEVER, many of the leads I received were dead, recycled, disconnected, miscatagorized, and UNUSABLE! I started with them In september. AGAIN, $250 limit. I ended with them in October.... WITH A $5000 BALANCE! They kept pushing ‘instant booking’ requests to me against my will and wouldn’t credit back the bad leads I had received. I even went as far as to drive 50-75 miles just because the phone wouldn’t connect and I would speak to home owners who told me they had the service done WEEKS ago when I had just received the ‘fresh lead’ same day. They are garbage and I will be joining the class action suit against them for their predatory practices and HORRIBLE business practices

Send wrong leads and empty leads. I just signed up recently, I still don’t have my profile set up or any pictures added my rep doesn’t answer and decides to call me back if he chooses to I called him today and messaged him and haven’t heard a response all day now that it’s 8pm. They sent 1/3 of my monthly money on leads in one day on the first day of the month some that are nowhere close to what I do and blank ones that don’t say anything about anything why should someone have to pay for a blank lead? Also they told me they only give 3ppl tops the same lead. As I go to look at a job today the person said she already got two estimates and is getting two more after me. I truly believe that this is mainly a scam and u may get a job here and there but will end up costing you the same amount they charge you for being a member and your leads. I would not recommend this to anyone. If anything changes I will write another review for right now this is how I feel that my pocket is getting robbed.

Review. I would not use this service if you had any other way to get work. I am a new business starting out and don’t have a lot of other resources for leads. With this service I have to pay for leads of people just browsing that have no interest in hiring right now or even getting an estimate. I would say from the number of leads I get to the ones that develop into a project is 1 out of ten or more. Half are leads I pay for and the other half are free leads that if you get a job this services takes 5% that gets linked to your bank account. You can’t dispute the leads that don’t even answer or respond very easily, through the app virtually never. However you can call tech support to remove some but they are a week out on billing so if you don’t call every time, you will pay for nothing. It a huge hassle with little rewards. I have gotten a few nice jobs but it will cost more than 10% before it’s done from the ones that don’t pan out.

M&R Refrigeration. Have been using home adviser for over a year now. It has help my busness but can be a pain only due to the large amount of inaccuracies of the leads. I would say 1 in 10 are actual legit leads during winter moths. The rest are customers yelling at me as if I searched for there info and tried to scam them. All I can do is ask them to call home adviser and tell them what they are telling me. 90% of them don’t. I have realized that if the lead comes in 2-4 leads late at night like 10 pm threw -5 am that those leads 99% of the time after I have called them when I start at 6-7 am or when I get the text (7 am every time) then I plan I getting yelled at like I did yesterday day when they call back. Home adviser is a good thing but also can be a hinderance at times. Thank you from Matthew owner of. M&R Refrigeration

Very poor service now. It was a good (probably the best) service in past. But somewhere in time they are losing. First of all, I'd lot of HA calling to be "aproved" like a pro. That's nice, because I felt that HA take care of their customers. Then we started "the game". After a lot of fake leads, I thought "I'm not a idiot", what's happening with this services? Then I started "another game", applying like a customer. A fake customer. And... Surprise surprise!!! They don't have any questions about "Mr. Mickey Walt Disneyberg", living in Orlando/FL that need a exterminator!!! Now I know. Unfortunately, HA don't take care of Pros! Any fake customer profile can create any fake lead and pros will be charged for talk with Mickey Mouse, and sometimes, when poor contractor ask for credit, they give same what pro has paid by that fake lead. But remember... Pros sometimes needs go to fake places, spending time and money! Pros are like good and kind bankers that pays to be lenders for HA. While HA don't do a hole fake customers analysis, this will be the worst app for pros in the world. Sorry. That's reality.
