Times not right. The times are too quick. For example first level should be 9 sec. This is about 8.5

How it works for those that don't know. It works like this when you start the test you need a track like a line at one side of something and then a line at the other side you stand at one of the lines and when it beeps you run to the other line and stop when it beeps again you run to the other line and just keep repeating the same thing over and over until you feel like you want to stop.I hope this helped you!.

Disappointed. App seems to be crashing a lot lately. I've had to delete and reinstall about every other time I attempt to use the app. Currently looking for an alternative but hope the developer gets it figured it out. When it worked smoothly the app did the trick.

No beeps. There’s some sort of glitch that makes no sound. Just the lady repeating stage sequences.

Below average. Worked well for the first couple weeks, now both the Paid and Free version have broken. A white box covers the whole menu not allowing you to click on anything.

Stopped working.. No real surprise, no updates for years. It launches but none of the buttons are functional.

What is it for. The multi-stage fitness test, also known as the bleep test, beep test, pacer test, Leger-test or 20-m shuttle run test, is a series of stages that have different tasks sometimes used by sports coaches and trainers to estimate an athlete's VO2 max (maximum oxygen uptake).The pacer test is "progressive aerobic cardiovascular endurance test". The test is especially useful for players of sports such as rugby, football, Australian rules football, Gaelic football, hurling, hockey, netball, handball, tennis, squash, and fitness testing in schools and colleges plus many other sports; employed by many international sporting teams as an accurate test of cardiovascular fitness, one of the more important components of Fitness. The test was created in 1982 by Luc Leger, University of Montreal[1] and published in 1983 with a starting speed of 8 km/h and stages of 2 min duration. The test was re-published in the European Journal of Applied Physiology in 1988 in its present form with a starting speed of 8.5 km/h and 1 min stages under the name "The multistage 20 metre shuttle run test for aerobic fitness".[2] Result equivalences between slightly modified versions are well explained by Tomkinson et al. in 2003.[3]

Very effective. Simple to use, very effective.

Timing is off, skewed results. If and when you can get this app to work, it doesn't work properly. I've been getting abnormally high scores (for me) and I thought it odd, so I timed the beeps, and sure enough, the time between beeps in each level is too long. If you use this app as a benchmark for a physical test or PAT, you're going to be in for a rude awakening.

Not to standard. This app does not time to the 20M Euro 21 stage standard used for athletic benchmarking. Compared to the standard, completing level 10 on this app is 90 shuttles, or 4 shuttles short (drops a segment on levels 4,6,8, and 9) and about 30 seconds shorter than the actual standard, which is widely published and should complete level 10 with 94 shuttles and a time of 10:32. This is 80M shorter and 30 seconds shorter than standard at level 10 and it gets worse with more dropped segments. This makes this app a “cheater” app, so that very good athletes can show a score output higher than the standard test. Example a 11.2 on this app would be very close to a 10.9 on the actual 20 min beep test standard. Find an app that publishes the data tables or just run your preferred app to ensure stage 10 completes at 94 shuttles and 10:32 to know it is using the true standard parameters.

Not accurate!. I like the design of the app, but both the number of shuttles per level and the timing of the shuttles is incorrect! This makes the app totally useless for training for an official beep test.

To guy who ask what this is.... Beep test is a fitness activity. It's used by coaches of highly cardiovascular / aerobic sports like soccer and rugby. Athletes run back and forth usually 20 meters crossing the lines without consecutive misses. When there are two consecutive misses, the athlete is done and scored based on that level.

Cardio fitness test.. We have been using the bleep test for the last two years! This is a easy way to test a high school physical education class. We divide our classes into groups of 35 or more. We can test students of all levels of cardio fitness at the same time. We test once a week and record the scores. We can post the scores so students can see their progress. I liked I like that we can utilize our gymnasiums sound system to administer the test! I think it would be awesome to compare our scores to other high schools throughout the country.

Beeps. It does not seem to have enough beeps? These tests must be accurate. Struggling to find a good one...

PSO. Personally have done beep test every 6 months for last 5 years it's an excellent device in training but it's not like the real test but overall it's good.

Can’t lock the screen and continue to use it. You should be able to lock the screen and still hear the beeps

Too Fast. As per other reviews- this is way to fast. It's just crazy how far out it is. I have done a side by side comparison of this with the official test utilised by the Qld Police and before level two arrives it's out by seconds.

Needs work. After reading reviews, I measures the beeps, and they're not right. Wrong number of laps on some levels compared to Leger and Lambert's paper of 1988.

Out of sinc. Starts off the same but ends up too fast, very disheartening when training to get to a particular level.

Confused. I was using this app and I got to stage 20. Level 15 and the app just stopped, I found it real easy until I got to stage 20 so I'm woundering if this is a real beep test and why does it stop at 20 . 15 for me ?

Okay. A good App in it's own right but not recommended if you're training to reach a certain level on the standard "Beep Test" as this version is much faster.

Cadence is inconsistent. Why on earth is their a triple beep at 8.8 therefore making it sound you’re onto stage 9?

Too fast!. I have been doing another beep test every week to test improvements in my fitness. This week I tried out this test instead and was extremely disappointed. It begins immediately with no warning, getting you off to a bad start. But worse than that, it is way too fast. I scored a whole level less than I normally do. Not because I was exhausted, but because I couldn't keep up with the beeps. Normally it takes me a while to recover from a beep test, but with this one I recovered very quickly and could have done it all over again, suggesting that this fails as an assessment of fitness. This test is flawed and should be fixed.

Good. It is a really good app but personally I prefer the original. The original says aloud what level and stage you are on we're as this one dose not.

Good. Provides an accurate simulation of the aerobic beep test. Exactly what the description says.

Not accurate. Used this hoping to measure my ability prior to a fire service entry beep test. I could only manage 9.6 on this yet on my actual test I scored 11.7 DO NOT USE THIS IF YOU WANT AN ACCURATE SCORE.

Not the official beep test. This test is NOT the official beep test, it is slightly out by each beep, by level 8 it is about 4 beeps ahead of where it should be. Terrible and misleading app.

Too fast. I downloaded this app to prepare for a physical assessment beep test for an emergency services job. This app is inaccurate and i spent a week anxious i was not going to make the minimum level 10 on the assessment day. Had i realised it was over 30 seconds fast by the time it reaches level 10 then i would have ditched the app and paid for a more accurate one. As it turned out i passed the test 10.6. If you need accuracy spend a coupe of dollars and save yourself the guessing

Disappointed. Started really fast. Then once got half way through it stopped and prompted me to buy full version. Not impressed.

Crashed my phone. The app crashed when I got to level 7 and my phone switched off. Same thing happened on another phone.

Meters you run. When you get the app it is a pretty good one once you know how to use it. I opened the app for the first time and tapped a few buttons and thought the app was broken. But then I found out how to use the app but it doesn’t seem like you can change the metres you run. The only thing I would change is being able to run a different length and to make it more clear how to use the app.

Needs and upgrade. Your stuck with being called John Appleseed. No customising choices.

No good. Went to use it and the app is frozen. Even after I reset it multiple times and turned my phone off and back on the app won't respond. Don't waste your time.

Crashed my phone. Got to level 4 and then it crashed my phone - my phone was on 49% when I started and it died about 2 minutes after using the app.

Hmm. I thought this test was good until I realised it doesn't have the correct number of beeps? Only goes to 4.7 and then to level 5... etc. and also the fact it is fast is worrying

What standard?. I don't know what this app uses but it's not standard beep test shuttles. Please use a standard like Australian Sports Commission or provide a chart of shuttle counts.

Criminals steel your money. Bought the app twice. Still won't work. Automatically shuts down forcing you to buy again tried to contact developers for support, no response after several attempts. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY/TIME

Police Constable. This beep test is pretty decent, I'm using it to prep for my OACT test and it's been reliable and efficient.

Bleep test free. The quality sucks and is very slow. It is hard to figure out how to work it but once you figure it out it is fun.
