Not too bad. App started crashing on me This morning but I still like it. Funnier and friendlier then Evi, more personal then Vlingo. Not as much of a prude as Siri. I recommend for an update: recent history list, an info button that might take you to the chat/retry page, other options and settings welcome. Add a recent list and polish the look a little and you get five stars and a happy customer for life! Even when I upgrade she is coming to my new phone, so she can teach Siri a thing or two.

WAIT READ THIS B4 U BUY. before I bought this app, I was skeptical because of all the negative reviews but I decided to just do it. I am so happy I did. sure this app can't bring up the right images or can't open other apps. BUT IT CAN make calls, set reminders, answer questions, spell, translate, provide laughs, and more. I think the many pros outweigh the few cons, which will most likely be fixed in an update. and if u want a refund, you can report a problem to apple and possibly get one. TRUST ME YOU WANT TO GET THIS APP :)

It works but needs improving. It works for the basics of what I need. However preferences for events and alarms would be nice, and calendar and real alarm integration would be awesome. Reminders work quite well, but if you close the app and reopen then it won't say you have any reminders if you ask. It will still bring the reminder up later though as it should. The dictation is pretty good and chatting with it can be fun. Please open web based stuff in an internal web view, opening in safari is annoying. Please fix these small things and I will rate 5 stars!! Sorry for the long review.

Good. Alright so despite a lot of negative feedback I must say I am impressed. She talks back to you which is nice, the UI might be a bit less 80's though. Setting an alarm does so in Calendar and gives it the name of exactly what you said, needs to be better. Some of the stuff said is ignorance, play with it and it actually does do those things. Nice would be WhatsApp and FB integration like Vlingo but I like this better I must admit. I am sure you are working on it and cant wait for the next update! Keep up the good work! Definitely Siri replaceable with a few tweaks.

Updated review.... I wanted to be one of the first to give an updated review of this app after today's update. It's back to being awesome (so far??!) and the issues with the contacts appears to be resolved! Also, hasn't crashed, and it even closes itself (when YOU say: close application). Though it does recognize most contacts, I find editing any difficult to pronounce names fixing the problem right away. Though this app was a major headache for some time, it's very nice they fixed it and I have it back. Thanks!

Awesome Under Appreciated App!!. Seriously, this app is awesome now, and will get even better if we support it. It IS the Siri replacement for iPhone 4, 3GS etc. But you have to figure it out before quitting and writing a bad review. Notice that there are a bunch of 1 star reviews claiming it doesn't work, and a bunch of 5 star reviews saying it is awesome. The difference is effort. The problem is that the app has no instructions and no settings. It just starts and you have to figure out what works. (they need to change that) Try this and be amazed: 1. Say: Email (insert contact name) (it opens the mail app but your not done) 2. Say: Subject, this app is awesome (it populates the subject line) 3. Say: now you can verbalize a sentence (wait and it will populate) 4. Say: add another sentence with any punctuation (wait and it will populate) Continue adding sentences until done and then pause.. Then say "send" and the email is sent. No other app does that ! And that is just the beginning!

Potential. It's buggy and definitely needs updates. I can see this app being something great, however, I do think that the price should have been free or .99 cent until it was out of beta. I like how she can handle commands when she works properly but what needs to be addressed in the future updates is interface, speed (it takes the app a long time to process data it needs to be more fluid), and the overall stability. Like I said, I see promise so for those of us who took a chance on your app and paid $5.00 please read the comments and work on making this app a great one. Let's not let this get lost in the beta closet of what could have been. Thanks!

Hopeless in USA, Worse in UK. Purchased US version for iphone and UK version for business iPad and I've got to say that it appears that its so bad in the UK that they have withdrawn it already..(2 weeks after buying it for £3.00) and according to their curt reply to my email they may offer it again at some stage if they come up with an update. No apology for the problems, just a terse "interesting email" answer. The US version (another $5.00) is acting like a demented parrot at the moment and when asking it to send a text it asks what you want to say, waits a second and then keeps repeating the same question. It also hangs at key times and the voice thinks she is called "Telephone" for some reason (although i suppose that's her prerogative). She also starting giving answers in German last night which was a first and later when I asked "The time in China" she educated me on the virtues of keeping homing pigeons..Mmmmm. Altogether a contender for the most expensive and worst international app of the year so far. Please keep your money.

After a once-over. Needs a manual. It's not intuitive enough to use out-of-the-box. I've been using Dragon Naturally Speaking for five years, and I was hoping for similar intelligence re dictating emails etc. For example, it doesn't know to use capitals for the salutation and at the beginning of sentences in emails. And I'm having too much difficulty training it to recognize my husband's name. Five bucks isn't exactly a fortune, but the breezy FAQ on the developer's website is a little too lightweight. I'll keep working with it, but I'm hoping for the promised manual very soon.

It's Not Too Special. It doesn't do anything that Google, Vlingo, and the voice dial capability of my iPhone already does. In fact, using Vlingo to dictate a text or email is more reliable. This app keeps telling me the person I want to text, email, or call is not in my contacts list...but they are! Anyway, it is handy if I need to know Obama's age. So, it does live up to the example given in the description. But for $5, I could scan Wikipedia for the answer If I could rely on it to text, email, and voice dial, I would give it a 5+. Having those three capabilities rolled up with a Google type voice search capability in one app would be sweet. So far though...it's hit or miss right now. Mostly miss.

What a shame…. This app could have been great.. At first I loved this app. It had a SIRI level of fun to it's chat feature. Ask it the meaning of life and it says that it's not 42, it's really 21. Ask it how much wood a woodchuck could chuck and it tells you the entire forest. But then it gets to a point where it stops working. Why, you might ask? Because the developers only let you ask it a set number of questions before is disables itself. That's right. Arbitrarily, the app becomes junk once you use it too much. Reinstalling it no longer works. It just decides that you don't deserve answers anymore and by now they've probably cashed their checks. Stay away from this app. I never write reviews, but the concept of a cap on asking is beyond garbage. This is pathetic and worthless. It would be annoying for a free app. After the update, it is still awful!

Dont listen to them. Dont listen to the people giving this 1 star, they dont know what they are talking about, you can have a conversation with your phone! I would give it 6 stars if i could, this is better than dragon go, vlingo, and many more, ive tried it all and this is the best. Its as close to siri as your going to get unless they come out with a siri app or you get the 4s.

It the best. This new updates makes it better and better Ok i'm not going to lie at first this app was crap with the other updates, but after each update it got better and after this new update it realy got good. I use this app all the time, it's not as good as siri, but it's the best things you can get, esecpt getting the atual siri. And for 4 bucks it may seem a lot buts it worth every penny belive me. All in all this app is realy good.

Pros and cons. I've played with the app long enough to see if I like it or not. 4 stars for the voice recognition. Even talking slightly muffled it picks words up correctly. It seems if the answer isnt pre built in or not a simple math equation, the app basically plugs your question into safari. May disappoint some, but it still does this faster than I can do it myself. Overall, I'm happy with the voice ability. It's pretty good, and it beats spending hundreds on a new phone. App just needs polishing with other functions.

Ok now.... Like many people this app would NOT work but after deleting & installing again, it now seems to be ok. It ALSO works with wifi or data regardless of what others say I like the fact that it sets reminders, times, open apps, has learned my name and so on. I have been a long time user of Evi and have always loved it & still do but it has not learned to the things I mentioned above accept it knows your name if imputed in settings. Hope Evi will learn these things soon & it's only 99 cents and worth it. Both are good apps !!

Minimal controls, Minimal options!. Disappointing. It seems to have worked better when I first installed it. Jeannie doesn't understand much. There are no guidelines for how to made commands. So you have to guess. You can add simple calendar reminders or open up a program, play a song from your favorite artist, but cannot choose which song, yada yada yada. There are no controls aside from tapping the mic and waiting for a response. It might offer a google search or chat, but it's misleading to suggest you can control the phone with your voice. Right now it is gimmicky at best. I need voice activated controls/personal assistance because my hands are not well and it is painful to press the buttons or swipe the screen incessantly. Software geniuses we need your help! FIX THIS!!!!

Decent app.. I think the app is decent. It does what it says and it does remind you of Siri. Mine doesn't crash but every now and then an error will pop up. It is fun to play around with and most of the time it understands what I say. I think they could make it better by having a voice correction modifier, where it could learn how you say certain words. They could also work on the set up itself, and when it gives you an answer- let it stay on the screen longer than 2 seconds. Overall it's a neat app but it still needs work. I think it should be free until they can fix some of the issues others are having and update the interface. Don't know if it's worth $4.99 but hopefully they'll update it soon and make it better :)

Good App With Great Potential. This is a good replacement for Siri (if you don't have a 4s). This app does almost everything Siri can do. The only complaint I have is that the voice's speeh can be slurred and the subtitles at the top can be completely wrong. This gets annoying when you're in the car driving and you want to use hands free technology. Other than that it hasn't crashed, it does almost everything that Siri does and is at a pretty fair price. Good app, has great potential, keep the updates coming.

What happened to my downloaded version? It's terrible!!! Help!!. A lot of the reviews I read were great and there were a lot that weren't. But What the heck!!! I figured I'd support the developer(s) anyway and give it a shot. I downloaded to my iphone 3gs. After downloading it for the first time, it crashed several times and would just close out. So I had to reinstall it. I would ask it to do a search or other questions and it would just say "Let's see" and never respond. Also, at first the text would appear if it responded, but the last couple of times there was not text just words. There times when it would not respond at all and I would have to close out the program and come back into it. At this point, I WILL NOT recommend anyone buying this program and spending $4.99 on something that's not going to work. No one wants to feel like they wasted their money on an app that's supposed to work. If the developers compensate those that have spent their money on this and get the bugs worked out, then I would definitely provide another view. In the meantime, I'm gonna have to contact tech support or something because this is ridiculous. For those who didn't have any problems or at least got to reach the 300 limit, I guess they got lucky because I can't get past a few :(

Very Cool, but needs work!. Siri is 100% better. But I have an iPhone 4. So I would like to see improvements made on server speed. It should use Google to find answers to questions instead of Wikipedia. Also I would like it to be able to read me my newest text messages. The alarm function is poor. It should work with the iPhones clock app. It would be nice if it would send my spoken text instead of just going to the messages app. Also the 300 actions limit is lame. Very good app just should be as good as Siri. No action limits! Keep working on it. I will give 5 stars when it is fixed.

It's not Siri but it's a very good start. It works fine now. The first day I got the app it didn't work very well, but then again I did get the app after I found out, the new Siri would not be integrated into iOS 5 for the iPhone 4. So I am guessing the server site of the makers of this app got hit hard because , like me, people that own the original siri, found this to be the closest thing to new Siri and similar to very very close to the old. I'm guessing that's why the low scores around the 10/4 and 10/5. Anyway the app is working fine now. While it's not as interfered as I would like it to be at this time. I'm holding out that company will try hard to become closer to the apple own Siri. And the reason why is money, I'm sure there will be more iPhone 4 and 3GS user out there than iPhone 4s. So it's a great opportunity for them, since Siri will only work with the iPhone 4S.

Ruined my iPhone. You ask Jeanie a question (her name like Siri) and instead of answering you get some terrible answer like, "I'm glad you see it that way" or a not even close answer, example. What is the human body temperature supposed to be at in fahrenheit and you get an answer like, "today is 80 degrees slightly cloudy" and then u get asked questions like, "do u have children?" or, "where do u live?" like its doing recon on you, but that's not even the worst part as soon as i bought this app my phone started tweaking out I go to write a text and I'll press a letter and the keypad freaks out and I can't type or it types random commas or numbers. I try to click on iPod app and my browser comes up and starts switching between different tabs I have up. My lock screen only opens once in 3 or 4 attempts. This app ruined my phone and now I'm going to apple to complain please don't buy this app until they fix the bugs or else you could end up like me, missing work calls constantly! Losing data! Mad girlfriend!

Improvement still required. I must admit that Voice Actions has managed to redeem itself in some ways and has definitelty gotten alot better. It now answers alot more questions and completes more tasks than it did before. I was surprised that it gave me a long description on the definition of the word 'Fear'. Some of the pics which come up sometimes do not fit in with the question i asked and it is still gives too much limited info on particular questions such as when I ask it about specific people as it only gives their date of birth and sometimes their profession. There seems to still be a problem with it trying to play music even when you tell it to play a certain song. The maps and navigation have certainly improved and so far I have nothing bad to say about it. Now it needs to be able to send status updates to facebook and twitter by voice. Overall, in time this app can become a great competitor to other famous voice apps like Vlingo, Dragon Go and Voice Ask. Keep up with the future updates.

Pretty cool, could be better with simple fixes.. The speech to text is pretty good, but it could use proper puncuation without specifying. For instance, in Vlingo it automatically capitalizes words at the beginning of sentences and picks up puncuation based on the inflection in your voice. If Vlingo can do it for free then this app should be able to do this an upcoming upgrade. Also, the reminder and music features don't work that well. You should be able to tell it to remind you of something and it sets a reminder with reminder app on iOS 5.01. Similarly the app should be able to open Pandora, not just search your own iTunes. Please fix bugs from new update and add these improvements - who cares about new accents?!

Iuv it. Hi I have an iPod touch and this app is very helpfully because I don't have siri. However I think that the apps user interface could use some work, the app it's self is great works great and was defiantly what I need on my iPod. To other iPod touch or iPhone users if you want to turn your iPod into a phone get this free app called pinger, I use it and I LUV it! I have completely changed my iPod touch into a iPhone now, with the 2 apps if you want more info just search for it in the app store. And no I don't work for pinger. :) I don't understand why there are so many bad reviews!!!!

Update working so far. Version 2.0 seems to have the bugs worked out. Compared to what else is out there....it's not bad. It actually sets reminders even though they do show up on the calendar.....still works great. Sent text and email without any issues. Located everything fine......maybe finally you guys got your act together.....nice job.

MUST READ!!!! It will help I promise!!!. So for those of you who are having problems with this app crashing, the same problem happened to me about a week into using it. I tried EVERYTHING like closing the app then opening it back up, and re-downloading it, and turning all the settings off, but nothing seemed to work!!! But then a little voice in my head had one more idea..... It was telling me to "CLOSE EVERYTHING IN MY MULTI-TASK MENU!!!!! " so of course I did and.... IT WORKED AGAIN!!!!!!! My friend was even having the same problem and I tried it on his and IT WORKED!!!!!! So like I said just close EVERYTHING In your multi-task menu and it will work I promise!!!! And if it doesn't then go sue apple ha ha ha ha!!!!! Well I hoped this helped!!! Nothing better. So i bought this app in the early version and it sucked. But every time I updated it, it just got better and better. Now it is probably in its golden age. They, the creators, know what they're doing now instead of just hoping that the update won't turn out to be a failure. It is really fast and really fun to use. I recommend you buy this app. It is really helpful. For example, I could tell it to remind me to wash my clothes at noon, or I can tell it to remind me to pick up groceries at 3 PM. You should definitely buy this app.

thank you for fixing twice. i hade one problem reported it on their website and they fix it in 2days another problem app kept closing they hade a update and they fix it thank you by the way the frist problem was that it hade a speech sever err but serouisly you might have problms at frist but you just tell them they will fix it in a day or two without the problems its way better then siri it has more voice task to do its great on iphone3G these guys that made this app thanks keep the fixes and more voice task coming via updates worth the $4.99 you may have some issues the couple days just tell the devloper in just days they will fix it my own hands free app thanks 5 stars yeah but please make it on a hp touchpad thaks sincerly: christhofer c

Needs some improvement. The biggest problem I had with the app is the inability to use the app without a wifi or 3G connection, which is strange because most of the commands don't even require wifi or 3G (setting reminders, playing music, etc...). This may not be a problem for iPhone users, but what this means for us iPod touch users is the app is basically useless because you may not be around a wifi hotspot during most of your day. Overallq though, this is a pretty cool app and if they can fix all the bugs (and hopefully alow the app to be used without wifi or 3G) it could probably work just as well as siri. UPDATE: Since the new update, not only have they not added features everyone wanted (auto-send text messages, ability to open other apps, etc...), but they somehow made what they had worse. The app now takes forever to respond to what you say and sometimes just crashes completely.

Good start, needs polish. This is, to my knowledge, the only voice app that literally speaks back to you, and that is exactly what I was looking for. It's kind of pointless to speak to the phone and be hands free if I still have to see what the phone is doing. However, I am confused about the functionality. When you open the app, regardless what you say, it takes you to a menu to refine your search terms. After that, if you hit chat, you can begin using it in a way that is frankly quite similar to Siri. And that's not a bad thing either, since Apple burned us iPhone 4 users. So, in all, this app is really slick, and if it gets updated, I'll be even happier. At least fix the weird menu thing at the beginning so it loads up in chat mode. Other than that and a clear representation of when it is "listening", I'm happy with the purchase. Kudos, guys!

IMPORTANT for Newbies. This App "Prior" to the latest update in early August was the absolute best app out their. Always quickly recognized your question and was quick to reply. In soo many ways this app by far exceeded the capabilities of Apples own "Siri". I paid $9.99 when this app first came out and believe it was worth a lot more. As of today, this version is NOT functioning as described by the developer on any iOS device. However, the previous version-if you didn't update is operating flawlessly. I've contacted the developer 3 weeks ago, they replied back that the issue would be resolved in 7 days. Its been almost a month and no fix yet. To be fair, and in hopes of getting the developers attention, I am leaving 5 stars based on what this App was prior to the recent update. PLEASE FIX SOON!!!

This is NOT Siri...!. Siri is a voice assistant that has been integrated into the iPhone 4S to make it run more efficiently and, thus far, ONLY comes with the iPhone 4S; period. Voice Actions is NOT integrated into your iPhone 4, 3Gs, or 3G. Voice Actions is a voice assistant APP; period. Now, with that cleared up, comparing apples to apples (excuse the pun), this is absolutely one of the best, if not the best, AI voice assistant app out there. I had an opportunity to get the iphone 4GS and didn't; figuring that i wouldn't even miss having Siri capability on my phone; so I got the iphone 4G. Well i was wrong; so began my search for an app that would be SIMILAR to Siri and believe me, look I did! I have tried most, if not all, of the top named voice assistant apps out there and no other APP that I have found even comes close to doing everything that this app can do; and I have tested it every which way. Is it perfect? Of course not! But then none of my apps are! (even the very best ones) Bottom line: please stop comparing this app (or any other app for that matter) to Siri. Read what this app says IT can do and base your comparison to that. If you are still not happy and pining for Siri, you will just have to buy an iPhone 4GS.

Impressed so far. But still a bit worried - it has been running great on my iPhone 4 but I hope that it gets even better - I was worried to purchase considering all of the bad reviews...the only thing I dislike at the moment is I would like to have it do the following 1) I should be able to say "play songs in my recently added folder or something like that 2) show me schedule for xxx week/day/ect 3) I wish I could use this for all of my apps - Facebook, twitter, banking, Craigslist ect ect ect

Works very nice!. I was looking for a Siri like app and this one is very close, however there are some issues! The alarm just sets as a reminder. The texting freezes a bit. The camera/video actions don't launch. Also it would be nice if this could use some of the new ios 5 features such as the built in reminders app. Overall impressive, but needs work. If the above things are fixed, this would be a great Siri alternative! I look forward to future updates !

Worth a refund. I had this app for a night and after getting used to a few questions I found some strange things. The most annoying one being errors when asking questions. Secondly, it brings up pictures that relate nothing about what you are asking for. Thirdly, it is just what previous people have said, when you ask it to call or text a specific name it doesn't bring it up and when you ask it to set an event the event name and time is nothing like how it is asked. I asked it to set an event for tomorrow at 7 A.M. and it set an alarm named tomorrow that takes place at 7A.M.

NOT Siri, but fun. While we wait for Siri, this is still a fun little app. If you tell it to call or text, it will. It will answer most questions or immediately turn on google for you. It does have memory. If you introduce yourself, it will remember your name and home address. Biggest quirk, it does slow down the phone. Since I got this, Facebook has been real slow. Also, it will not work after 300 questions, BUT... simply delete it and download it again. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR IT AGAIN! Can also make me laugh. It told me to have a "blessed day". I asked if it was religious and it said it was a Christian?!

Voice Actions! A+++ Update!!. All I have to say is, building an app like this is incredibly difficult with coding etc. Nonetheless, that's not the buyers fault!! However, everyone screamed for an update(as did I) and I received an email from the creator apologizing and saying that they just submit a live update, and to go see if it works. I deleted it B4, so I reinstalled it and bam worked on the first shot! Showed me directions to nearest grocery store, When was Abraham Lincoln born, favorite color, everything seems to be fine. A++++++ for working hard to the creator or creators!!! I know what it takes to make an app like this and quit surprised of how good of a job u did. Just like Siri.

pretty good. I like it, i mean i can talk to my ipod, i can use it for a lot of different things. It needs an update but i'm satisfied. The only thing is, well i think you can figure it out i mean it 5 dollars! You should get it though. 4 stars The thing is... Well it says i have it, which i do but when i come to it in the app store, the icon looks different and it says its 3.99 but then i changes ti installed. I know youre thinking its an update but it says theres no update for this app. Help please

Very good. I love this app a lot. For those of you who hate this app either buy an iPhone 4s for Siri or just start speaking to it better. Read the description there is no voice recognition so it won't understand and learn the way you say things the way Siri will. Overall I think it's perfect for ppl like me who can't afford the iPhone 4s for Siri. Great app guys keep it up and can't wait for the new version for alarm and stuff. Worth my 4.99 thx very upset that it's a limit of 300 requests pretty much that is my only complain please take this limit off. Thx

excellent. this is possibly one of the most epic and genius apps ever made. but nothing is perfect at first. This app does have some glitches and cons to it. But this is so innovative that I can't complain. I'm just going to be patient and wait for the next update which I'm sure will be great! And people need to stop complaining about the 300 click cut off because it clearly states in the description that they will be fixing that soon. Just have some patience and realize how hard it is to make this app.

YOU'VE RUINED THIS APP WITH THE 2.0.1 UPDATE!!!!!. This app used to be wonderful, & very helpful. It used to answer your questions, obey commands, etc. Now it does NOTHING but give you lip & a bad attitude!!!!! Before the update, if you ask "What are the 7 wonders of the world?" It would look it up & give you the correct answer. Now all it does is ask why you want to know or tells you to use an internet browser. What were you people thinking when you "updated" the software??? You've ruined a once great program! If I knew how to remove this update & go back to the last version, I'd do it in a heartbeat. I have an iPad 2 & a 4th gen iTouch. This new version is on my iPad now, & I don't want to update the iTouch because it will ruin the program on that one too if I do. I'm very disappointed!!! Updates should IMPROVE an app... NOT make it WORSE! PLEASE FIX THE APP & I WILL GIVE IT 5 STARS AGAIN. It used to be the best app in the app store, but right now it's good for nothing.

This app is awesome!. Works great.......voice recognition is spot on. Allows you to do anything through voice activation. Love it! Updated: still not sure why people aren't giving this 5 stars. The app does everything it states in the description. It works flawlessly. Plus, the app will understand your speech the more you speak to it. Best app out there for speech recognition!

My fav. app!!. This app works great for me, and if you reach the 300 limit all u do is reinstall its not that complicated... It always recognizes what I'm saying better than vlingo and is great for sending a text while you're driving. If you want it to have a convo with you like Siri does, just ask it something like "are you cool" and it'll come up with a menu and click "Chat!" and it goes into chat mode and is super fun! Works great for setting reminders too. Idk why everyone is so harsh bc it does everything it promises! 💝💝

Good app, has potential to be alot better. This app so far seems to work ok. I've only used it for a couple of days, but so far I have no big issues against it. I would like to see some kind of settings adjustment or something. Maybe a section where we could insert frequently used names or action, or apps we wanna use with it. It would be nice if the voice wasn't so "robotic". I also think that at the stage this app is at, $4.99 is too much considering the improvements that can be done to enhance this program. I'll be looking forward to updates, hopefully SOONER than later 😊

This needs tweaking. I have had this app since the early release and I'm happy with it but the stability of the app needs some work. Name features work now and that's pretty cool. (you can give the bot a name and she will remember yours.) Search works great, asking questions works rather well. I'm having a problem sending text since the last update. After telling the app to text, it asks "what would you like to say" but when I say it, it just flashes and remains at the voice que. The app needs some work but it is by far the closest thing to Siri for iPhone 4g. I'm hoping for an update to fix this text issue. I've heard reinstalling the app helps fix some issues. So I'm going to try that. It's worth a try check it out.

Ok app!. This app is very good! I understand it is still a beta but I think this app will get a lot better. Jeannie does all the things she is supposed too! The only problems I found: I said what is 2+56, she said it was four? Sometime I want to text someone and I say the message but in didn't send? I asked what the distance was to the sun and she looked in my contacts? Lastly, she doesn't remember names! Overall, this is one of my favorite apps! I think she will get better and maybe lower the price! Hope to see updates soon!

Confused. I have been riding the waves with this app for quite sometime. Every update gives and takes. It's starting to get extremely annoying. Text messaging was something that worked properly in the beginning, but the last two updates has hampered a feature that cheaper apps can provide successfully. Now, when you want text a contact the app lists your whole contact list and proceeds to naming off each one, so you can choose. Annoying. Please fix this bug. Overall this app is good and the closest alternative to Siri for old iPhone users.

Works for me.. Been using this app for a week, and I'm not sure why so many people are having issues with it. I bought it to make hands-free reminders because I got tired of having to manually input mundane reminders to "take dog out at 3pm" or "pick laundry up in an hour." I use this app throughout the day to make reminders like the following: "Remind me to pick up my kid in 2 hours."; "Set timer for 45 minutes."; and "Remind me to meet friend at 5pm." It's cool that it creates an event in the native calender. I only wish it would update my Google calender as well. I wouldn't use it set an important alarm or appointment, though, because whenever I told it to wake me up the following day, it wouldn't and instead create an alarm for the present morning (thus defeating the whole purpose of a wake-up alarm!). I find it to be quicker at sending text messages and emails than Vlingo, although it is not as accurate as Vlingo. So there is some tradeoff. Overall, I'm happy with paying $3.99 for this app. I got tired of always borrowing my wife's 4S to make constant reminders with Siri.

Very good start. This app works very well IMO for what it can do currently. Some small bugs here and there such as adding "by" to the end of an artist or playlist I ask it to play (which of course prevent the apo to find it in my library). My suggestions are to add more integration with using other apps (at least Apple ones to start). I definitely would find joy in being able to set reminders in the reminders app along with the location-reminder functionality. Hope to see more updates soon!

Yeh not worth it.. No where near as good as Siri. Take advice from other comments made and save your money. It doesn't understand about 85% of commands. Needs allot of work to be up to the same standard as Siri.

Very Disappointing. Slow to load, poor voice recognition, had to change unusual parameters that were pre-set in the options. Few options. Doesn't seem to be able to do the wonderful things the description promises - leaves me wondering who wrote those "unbiased views". Would like my money back

Rubbish. Voice recognition is rubbish. Nuance are you really involved with this? I've used Dragon Naturally Speaking and this app makes you look bad... Not a Siri alternative.

Absolutely terrible. Don't believe any of the 5 star ratings...I wouldn't be surprised if the developer arranged for them to be written. Taken heed of all the 1 star ratings. I've owned this for 5 minutes and about to remove it. Apple - really want my money back on this. Total con. Really terrible app.

Crash crash crash!. No app should ever be made available when it crashes like this - complete with some low level message text. Very bad coding/testing. Say 'set reminder' and watch it die. Hope this is fixed soon, or else I'll ask Apple for a refund, which they will do BTW.

It stopped working after the update. Love the app but you get occasional errors, if you set an alarm, it doesn't set default ios alarm and it only beeps once which I won't be able to wake up with. Looking forward to updates for fixing bugs and new features.

Nearly like siri on the iPhone 4s. You should enable voice actions to read out your new text messages that you receive also reply back to the message, if you get this feature in the next update I will be so happy with it.

Disappointing. App is unstable, lacking of options and does not seem to be frequently updated by the developers (as if they are just riding on the success of Siri). Has the potential to be good and useful but considering its current price and limitations I would not recommend it to anyone.

Don't bother.... Have tried to do numerous things and nothing works. I asked for a phone number I had in my contacts it came up with maps, I asked Barack Obamas birthday....no response. Doesn't matter what I try it does something completely different, now it just says it's "Thinking' then says please tap and try again. I want a refund.

Siri for iPhone 4. It works really well, if you speak normally (non robot) and not in a noisy environment (in a car) I don't need to buy a 4S now.

Awesome!!. I love it!! Its even better than siri, siri cant turn the flashlight on can she? Well, this app is soo cool!! I just randomly said" turn on light" and it turned the flashlight on and when I said "turn light off" it turned it off!! And if you say play song, next song etc.. Then she will do that! Ok. Pretty good but needs work. When making an appt it doesn't put it in the schedule but keeps it in its own memory. When asking to text or call someone and u have more than one phone book it comes up with all matches and shows onscreen their name only "john smith" 3 times for example, and asks u to choose one but u can't see which is correct. It should show the name and number or show "John smith mobile" say for example. It does recognize words very well with little corrections needing to be made so that's a plus.

Much better. The update brought it back in line with version 1.3. No more crashing at startup. It is slightly better than it was before the last update and understands me better. This is best alternative to SIRI especially given the restricted platform Pannous had to work with. I bet Apple restricts what applications VA can access and limits what it is allowed to do with the applications it can access.

Needs work. I bought this thinking it would work like Siri. For me it doesn't crash but it does need lots of work. For example I when I want to send a text to someone it says no matching contact. I found out the only way to fix this is if you say a last name which is not the best. Please make an update where you dot have to say the last name please and also the maps aren't that great.

Getting better. Key is when she says "do you want to leave this app", say "yes" and she will re-direct you to map, etc.... Because she has trouble recognizing contact names (even "Ed"), I changed the frequent ones to "Dad", "Honey", etc and now she can call (still takes some time to think about it, but hey at least she does it eventually...) I am still trying to figure out the adding event to calendar part with different ways to say it. So far, either I just get a duplicate of the event time as the event title or the whole phrase "schedule sth at 11:40 pm" as the event title. For crashing, not opening, try closing all other running apps and test it again. I feel like this is like a relationship -- I am trying to make it work 😊

Good app - fun and worth the money. For the low price, this app is worth buying. The most recent update does have issues with name recognition but it is still in Beta. For the most part, it's pretty sophisticated. I guess if you want perfection you could pay a few hundred dollars for a device that has it built, in but let's face it, Nuance is a giving us a good user experience.

Ehhhhhh. I think the idea is great and the app itself is a fantastic way to turn a 4 into a 4S.. That being said.. I hope an update comes out soon because it is incredibly slow uncomprehensive and crashes. Total scam!. The fact that this app is so expensive and literally does nothing is why it gets a bad review. When it can read my text and when I ask it for directions, and it shows them on my map and when it can actually set an alarm or reminder and when it can update my twitter or Facebook this will be the best app. But until then, not worth the money. Fun for a few seconds if you've never played with Siri but no where close to the capabilities. Developers please take my money and make this app better with my review. Thank you

Junk!!. I purrchased this app. since laws have been put into affect making it illegal for commercial drivers to text while driving and requiring us to use a hands free device while using our cell phones. The very first time I tried to use the voice and to send a text to my fiance, not only did it put in wrong words, it would add another contact from my phone. And forget about finishing a sentence. It will stop recording and send whatever it thinks u said. A complete joke and waste of time. I would give it less than a one star if I had that option!!

Mixed results. I originally bought this for my iphone 4, but it did not work. AT ALL. It just crashes, even after rebooting. On a whim, Installed it on the ipad2. It works great. It is definitely a competent Siri alternative, though not quite as sassy. The speech recognition, is awesome and responses are quick. I highly recommend if u want it for the iPad 2, but I would highly discourage it for the iPhone 4. If they can get it working on the iPhone 4, i'd give it 5 stars.

does want I want it to do. The main reason that I got this was because its the only voice app that can do scheduling. It does it well. Tell it to schedule a reminder at a certain time and it will go right on your calendar at the appropriate time and sync across iCloud if you ask it to. Has potential to be something greater and I'll continue to use Vlingo for texts and emails, but this is exactly what I wanted.

Works good with minor flaws. Pros: Great alternative to Siri. There was a learning curve. You need to talk to it like a real person, unlike VLingo, where the app only recognizes specific verbal commands. Cons: app won't recognize my music library, nor will this app read any oncoming text messages or recite out going text messages before sending. Also doesn't allow you to send text message hands free.

Awesome app!!. I like the app alot! It usually cuts out the cars, and background noise and listens to the person talking to the voice app. Some improvments would be like hold down the button to ask a question wherever you are on safari, homescreen, etc. I also would like it to do some basic math and school stuff lol. But it is overall a great app that helps me alot and hopefully will become top 25 in paid apps!

Lots of Problems. I brought this app after seeing my sons droid phone run it and it was awesome on the droid phone plus it was free. It worked so fantastic I went ahead and paid to buy it for the iphone thinking it was going to work the same as the driod version. I can't believe how bad it is. It keeps freezing when you ask it to send text, emails etc. It was night and day compared to the driod version. The driod version I would give a 10 out of 10 but the iphone version I give a 2 out of 10 and that is because I seen what it can do on the driod version only or it would be a 1 or lower even. I hope the company sees these complaints below and fixes this app to work properly on the iphone because how awesome the driod version is. So I know they are capable of doing it just depends if they take the complaints seriously or not. FIX THE IPHONE VERSION!!!!!

Love it. I was doubtful but I decided I would purchase it anyway as I am sure the developers are working on the issues some people wrote of. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised that it worked as well as it did. Where else could you ask how many calories are in a big Mac and get an answer? 586 - it's worth 4.99 - to the developers keep on working this could be my favorite app of the year!

Awesome but needs some improvement.. It understands most of my commands, even translating something into Japanese XD!! However, there is a hiccup to this. I say something like "When did Portal 2 come out?", I get "When did portal to come out?" and there is no way to identify that as wrong. I would love to see a way to ask it something by typing in the command or question. Aside from that, this is very entertaining!

Update!. V 1.6 fixed my issue. Thank u. I'm so glad that there is an alternative to Siri. I don't want a new phone just for that and this app dies that. All the features worked fine. Keep up the good work. ------------------------------- This app won't even load on my 4. It says Loading.... And then crashes every time. Force closed all apps and rebooted and same thing. Deleted and reinstalled. Same thing. Worst app experience ever.

Great Program. I just purchased the 1.5 version. I could not get it to work. 1.6 version works great. I have already spread the word and have others purchase this software. I tried a couple others that I purchased, but this one is on the top of the list of the best of the best. Keep up the great work

Wow. This app is amazing. I didn't even know they had this advanced technology out. It texts for you, calls for you, searches the web for you, anything you say it will do, unlike the other apps the voice doesn't get mixed up. I'm talking to an advanced computer. This is awesome and well worth the price. I don't have to text ever again with touch.

Freaking Awesome!. This is the first app I have ever been so excited about that I felt the need to write a review (I have 134 apps). This app does EXACTLY what I hoped. I can text, email or call. If you speak clearly and slowly it understands everytime. It repeats your instructions back to you to make sure it is correct. It's almost like having a real person! It is so great!

Siri's finicky Australian Little Sister. A good effort but definitely not up to Siri standard. The app does have promise if developers stick to it but it is currently limited. New icon on latest version does not load. User interface needs improvement (graphics, voice bubbles, more functions, 300 query limit) and Australian accent is somewhat strange as the only voice choice for a Midwesterner like me. High point is solid voice recognition thanks to Nuance speech engine integration.

JUUUUUNK !!! RIP-OFF. Paid for this for my ipad2 DOES NOT WORK... I've had this for months now tried deleting and re-installing and no difference also contacted the developer and they've ignored every attempt to rectify the problem will not respond for a refund or advice ... I'm VERY disappointed in Apple that they would let loyal iPhone/ipad users to be blatantly stolen from by a developer who is quite obviously aware they are falsely advertising a defective product that they are aware for the most part DOES NOT WORK IS ABSOLUTE JUNK AND STILL THEY KEEP STEALING OUR MONEY WITH APPLES BLESSING ...shame on you apple for betraying our trust ...SAMSUNGS LOOKING BEtter everyday...

Voice Actions (Actionless). I purchased this app in good faith along with a positive review I had read. Wow, what a big disappointment! The app says loading and then disappears but nothing more...it shows up in the running task. It is a do nothing app currently, I expected more for the $4.99 purchase. I'm sure at one time it was a nice application however, something has gone wrong in a big way. I would. along with most here like a refund on this purchase. I have never felt like I've spent money for nothing as I have for this. Why don't you pull the app until you fix it???

Very nice. I have the iPhone 4, my friend the 4s with Siri. We asked the same questions to both phones and this one impressed me! Not only did it keep up at times it was better. If the voice was just a little bet less robot we would give Siri a run for the $$$!

Pretty good. I've only has this app for about a week, but it had worked much better than I thought it would. It accurately told me the time in another time zone, located the closest Starbucks, found a recipe in the net among other things. It said it would remind me to pick up milk but, it never did - so obviously it needs further work. Overall though it's been pretty good.

A good start. This app is a good start. I like its interactive capabilities, and I honestly believe it will improve with time. My only major criticism is reserved for the 300-request limit. Having to delete the app, and then reinstall seems to defeat the whole purpose of AI, which is to learn and remember. If I have to download for every 300 requests, or ever for that matter, it's as if I'm a member of the cast for 50 First Dates. I'm onboard for the duration, but I'd like this app to be as good or better than the new Buttocks app, otherwise known as Siri.

expected more from nuance. based on the company's reputation for other products I thought maybe the bad reviews were planted , but alas , this product doesn't work as advertised ..handles questions very well but email anyone or text anyone etc NOT SO GOOD vlingo really works much better . Sorry I bought this . The company has " we are hoping that our iPhone customers will come to love our program as much as our other customers do " posted on their site but I"m guessing it works much better on the other platforms ?

Great but could get annoying. This is prefect for me. Cons: Siri is better Sometimes unresponsive (but so is Siri) Voice could be obnoxious at times Some bugs (but cold easily be fixed) Pros: For $5 it is better than spending $750 on an iPhone 4s. Does even more than the descriptions says Doesn't crash for me (despite what other reviewers say) Does everything Siri does despite telling a joke Finds me restaurants Google searches for me Type email and texts for me (but not always accurately) Dials calls for me Fun to show off with Tells the weather, time, location, etc. Could schedule me an appointment Sets reminders Sets a time And pretty much everything else you'd want it to do.

Amazingly awful. Anyone calling this app amazing must work for the company. I spent considerable time using this app. The voice recognition does not improve with use. The text messaging works poorly an web search usually did not understand my request. It never found "NCAA basketball final four" an I tried every combination. The chat function works okay but I have to use Vlingo for a smooth texting or web search experience. The chat function is the only part that somewhat met my expectations. I spent the money so I will wait for MUCH NEEDED UPDATES. For now, I strongly suggest you not Waste your money.

Question...someone please answer!. Do you have to click on the app every time you want to ask it something because whenever I exit the app at the top of my phone I see a red thing like you do when you are on the phone and your still talking but looking at something else but then it goes away. If there is a way to do it without having to click the app please someone tell me!!

GET THIS APP!!!. This is the best app evr get it buy it everyone loves it don't listen to all those people who don't like it listen to me it Rox it has an option of chatting or just answering questions every app has a different name mine is Jeannie if the names are the same they are either sisters/brothers or best friends just giving a suggestion but overall BUY THIS APP!!!!!!!

It's entertaining. Some pictures don't match up with the Questions. When asking about the weather it would be nice if it showed the right forecast . There should be more customization such as update Facebook option, read emails or even read current text messages. Overall will have some good potential

A very good Siri substitute!. Quite a fun and useful tool. Does fairly well with the voice recognition. Sometimes, it gets a little confused and doesn't retain the answer that it just gave to the subsequent question. But, it does a great job finding places and instantly providing pictures and information. And, it has a sense of humor too!

Review. I think it's a good app. It does recognize my voice well and I haven't had any trouble with texting with my voice. It's a good app and worth the money. But like all things it could get better. Needs an updated voice (smoother voice) be able to open apps I've downloaded, and read texts that people send me. Over all good app! With some updates it would be great though!

Voice Actions ( should be called Useless Action". Worest App ever, does not work, no matter what you ask for, it does not find or respond to anything correctly. does not control your phone through speech commands, when you ask it to: Voicedial your contacts, Set alarms and reminders, Listen to music, Send emails and SMS, Get news, facts and translations, Search images, videos, apps and places all it does to come back with unrecognizable gibberish do not recommend this App, even if it was free it's worthless and unusable. At $4.99 IT A EXTREME RIP-OFF

This app used to be great !!!! if you have it DO NOT UPDATE TO 2.0.1. I loved this app it was close to Siri , I have several friends that have Siri and when head to this app was close even answers many questions better but since the update the voice is now slow and it asks many questions before u get your answer I don't know why they did this to a great app maybe it was too close to Siri and apple wasn't happy but now paying customers aren't happy PLEASE CHANGE BACK !!!! ….. I notice now app is 99 cents maybe its worth that but honestly its a major downgrade its almost not even worth a free download I paid $3,99!!!!

Voice Actions. Doesn't understand "Vermont English" accent very well. Good at looking up numbers or directions. Speaks in female British English voice (is there a male voice?) Refers to "Dr. Morrison" sometimes without apparent reason. Good substitute for Siri on my iPhone 3Gs. Does not speak Swedish or Russian. Does many other cool functions, but cannot get my name right. Needs a little work, but a very helpful app overall.

I had to have it. It looked so cool! And I wanted "Siri" before. So for me it was so amazing. But after even about an hour with it I knew there were some things that I wanted to change. Like to open an app or text someone. Don't get me wrong I still think this app was worth it but It NEEDS to get an upgrade. Personally I like it so much I wouldn't even mind if I had to pay to get an upgrade!

Awesome. If you ask it "read me my text message" It replies "coming in later update" which mean eventually it will this is awesome i just hope the creators of this app keep updating and making this better instead of creating new apps and forgetting about this one.

USED to be good.... My husband found this app first and he loved it so much I bought it. They did an update and changed the voice which was not as good as the original one but still worked fine. Recently we have both at separate times gone to use it and it doesn't work.. It appears to be working but there is no sound and if you ask it something it appears to be "thinking" but doesn't ever do what you asked. Don't waste your money unless they fix it... If they fix it I highly recommend it but not as of now.

Get the app. Guys!@!@!@!@!@!@! Its not a scam just reinstall it also it says 300 limit u just have to read so if ur reading this buy it i know most is hate but u just have to reinstall it and u get 300 more ect. It does every thing that siri does but u can buy it one the app store amd dont have to get the 4s to get siri so i would say to get this app it would be worth the money to do it :)

Wow is all I gotta say :). I was kinda skeptic about the app reading all the bad reviews,but I'm glad I got it works perfect for my iphone 4, I usually never come back and comment on an app but this is def a must have. Get it. The only thing it took forever to install but I just shut the phone off and back on and it should be good :).

I loved it ! As pastence. Please fix i ask a question and nothing just what I asked written out ! Then after 3or4 questions she will answer the first then again , again then turns off , as well as other bugs I see other people complained about but you know that already ? Please fix ? I really love this thing PLLLEEEEASSE

Great app. I only wish it would think faster and you could change the voice, and you would change the background to be able to scroll through the conversation and look more like siri

It ain't Siri but it ain't bad. This is actually a decent app. The voice recognition is powered by Nuance, and their the best around so as long as you speak clear it understands. My fave thing about this app is IT DOES TALK TO YOU.. Just like Siri. I also have a feeling this developer see's the potential in making this a Siri-Alternative for non-4S users and will continue to improve the product through updates. I'm willing to grow with this app, besides, I can't get a 4S for a year anyway!!

Does not seem to work as advertised. I cannot get this program to open many popular apps. For example, saying "open Facebook app" instead opens the browser and loads the Facebook page. There is no manual or any sort of jump start available, and the website is rudimentary at best with no real support. I'm sorry I wasted my money because this app does not work well for hands free operation of an iPad, which the description leads us to believe it is designed to do.

junk…junk…junk. worked ok for the first hour then decided not to work anymore…app hangs at "loading" then shuts itself off. contacted support and got an automated email back saying that they have an unusual about of requests and will get back to me in a couple weeks…are you kidding me..a couple weeks? hey iTunes don't you test these apps before putting them on your site to sell. i want a full refund!!! i had to give it 1 star because i had no choice…i would like to give it negative stars

Absolutely Amazing!!!!!!. I bought this app hoping it would work and was very surprised to find that it actually did!!!!! This app will send texts, set reminders and alarms and even have a conversation with you!!! The only thing I would change is the look of it. So don't listen to all those people who say it doesn't work because it really does work just like Siri!!!!!!

Okay I guess. Well it's pretty cool since I have an iTouch and not Siri. But some of the thing it said were put in through the new update didn't work. Such as system setting or apps. I saw open system settings (or launch) and it says would you like to leave this app? And I say yes then it responds perfect and doesn't do anything. Please fix this issue. Same goes for opening other apps.

I gave it a two weeks try an still disapointe.. At first it look good, but it's been two weeks I have not been successful in anything that really matters to me. An usually patient and try to understand it more but it doesn't clearly understand me it doesn't recognized my wife's name or any of my family or friends..(lame) this app is not worth 4.99 it's more like .99 or free.. Vlingo has don't more than this app has, all u really are paying for is for a lousy robotic female voice response that's it noting more interesting about this app ( 0 stars ) if possible...Don't Buy it's not worth it trust me.

Awesome! Amazing app! Luv it sooo much! 😃😃😃😃. This app, is truly the thing to get, people! I highly recommend it! The price, to me, is actually low for this amazing quality. Not that I'm complaining...lol!! But, overall, I really like this app for all ages. It is perfect, no improvements needed at all! I don't know what the HELL all these people are saying...they must be DUMASSES or something, but, I love this app. Buy it today!

Good. I really enjoy this app because it is a good voice recognition app that I use a lot on the road. Some commands like "good Thai restaurant" take me to the Maps application and just enter "good Thai restaurant" in the search bar which could be improved. I am hearing that you can only ask 300 questions before having to re purchase this app but I have not yet hit this mark and think that it would be worth it anyway.
