Video player done right.... This is simply an outstanding app. I had been extremely frustrated with my iPad in several occasions where I couldn't open my email attachments because they were in a format not supported by the iPad. Not only was that a bit embarrassing when you paid and waited in line to get this darn thing having to answer to my friends "Sorry I have to get to my computer before I can watch the video clip you sent me". Well thanks to Azul I can proudly say, I watched the video clip you sent me on my iPad :) The is an absolute must for every iPad owner. You will need it sooner or later.

Can't go to gym without it!. I absolutely love how I don't have to convert therefore compress the quality of my videos anymore! So wonderful. The service is amazing too! I emailed the creator and he responded with what my issue within 2 hours. Then a couple weeks later, he emails me to let me know that he put out an update that fixes my video issue! I've also never had any issues with my videos freezing or the app not working. As for constructive feedback, I would like to see a list scroll for my videos and to be able to swipe to the left and be able to delete that way.

Help. App is great - when it works. Mine keeps crashing and customer service email is apparently disconnected. So now I have an app that doesn't work

Layout needs to be updated on the new 11" iPad Pro. Fantastic app for playing video files in myriad formats offline at double speed. I've used it for years, but on the new iPad pro the screen is clipped off so there are black bars on the left and right. I'd love to be using all of these fancy new pixels I bought!

Azul stopped working. I am a longtime user of Azul, but following the recent iPad update to version 12, it has stopped working. I won’t even allow me to login to the app. Please fix this soon.

Thanks for the update. The best video player which can autoplay your playlist. Supporting TV out. Easy to add video from Mac using iTunes. (No need to synch other stuff, such as music, etc) Happy to know that the developer still working for the new update!

My review. I just purchased the app and I am not fully satisfied, after all the reviews I read about it. Every time I download a video and try to download another song the app shuts off and I have to go back to square one and re-type the information. It is frustrating even though the app looks great. Can you guys fix this please? And I will write another review. Thank you!

Video app. A great application if you have a bunch of avi's and you just want to watch them without any worries. I like that it works with the iPad mail app to open my attachments which I couldn't do before. Also, it seems to be play the videos smoother than some of the other apps I have tried. It's a great app for $.99. Can't beat it. If you don't want to use itunes the downloader comes in very handy. It is great if you're travelling (but try to find a wifi spot to download otherwise you will have timeout issues on 3g). I use it all the time to download shows. Does what it say, simple easy to use, worth every penny.

GREAT app but folder option was removed. It was a GREAT app but the folder option was removed making it impossible to organize a video library by folder. It also appears that the developer is no longer maintaining the app as no new updates have occurred in quite awhile. I would really like to see some improvements to it soon.

Older version was better if you had a lot of files.... I have / had a bunch of files loaded on my iPad, various shows in folders, various movies, tutorials of different kinds. The folders allowed me to easily see what I had and where it was. It WAS great, I would have given 5 stars, even response to questions. The new version did away with the folders, so now I have well over 100 files all in one spot. I just downloaded two other programs that have folders to see how well they work.

Still Buggy. Although the old version occasionally crashed, its functionality all worked and was still great. The new updated version crashes minus all the old functionalities. Converting an mp4 file to mp3 immediately crash. With that said, thank you for your hard work and addressing the issues.

Is it Obsolete in 2020. The newer versions of web browsers and iOS upgrades have apparently made this app obsolete. It gets FIVE stars because it was best on market!!! And, I Used the same app for years until iPad iOS upgraded and this app upgraded. Now, app crashes ... It was excellent while it lasted!

This app just changed the game.... I have download the other players and I have to say they all are pretty much the same and frankly speaking lame. Same old story of syncing with iTunes to watch any movies. This downloading and syncing business just makes it impractical for a normal user like myself. Azul is just different - the fact that I can go a website and download an avi file directly is just amazing. Downloading the movie does it a bit of time but I can't real get upset since the movie was about 700mb's so I expected it would take a few mins. About 30 mins letter the movie download finished and there it was in the player. This app is certainly going to be one of my most used apps on my iPad. I am extremely excited that I can finally use my iPad on the plane and download movies while sitting around at the aiport.

Abandonware. Not compatible with any of the multitasking features of new iPads/ios makes useless for studying tutoring videos while taking notes in split screen because it is not supported.

GREATEST WMV APP. For a whole year since my daughter gave me this iPad2 for Father's Day I have been looking for an App that will let me open a WMV file sent to me via an email, and until today that I bought Azul, I had nothing but frustration. I bought this App and went to the Help Tutorials, chose The Open a WMV from email, followed it and immediately if not sooner, for the first time,I was able to view it without any effort in my iPad2. I recommend this App to everyone without hesitation. Please don't buy any other as I had done in the past with two other Apps as they don't work and you will loose your money, time, effort, and get frustrated to no end. After installing it today, I have been able to view two WMV attachments with no effort at all and with pleasure. Take my advise, get Azul and you will be happy and commence to get more enjoyment out of your Ipad2. Before Azul, I had to wait until I was anle to retreive the emails with WMV attachments in my PC to be able to see them, now those days are over. THANKS AZUL FORM A VERY HAPPY CUSTOMER.

DO NOT BUY. DO NOT BUY THIS. It’s a copy of VLC. Both are super buggy. Can’t even wat h a video for 5 mins without errors. Wasted $3 on this

Absolutely the best video app out there.. I read reviews for many video apps, but I had only a few prerequisites and only this app seemed to fill that bill. I wanted to be able to put videos in specific folders, name them, sort them, and play from within the folders. I wanted to be able to upload directly into the app. And I wanted to play any format I had. This app does all of that and more. When I had a problem understanding some directions, I emailed the developer, and within minutes (really!), he responded with the solution. Everything he says this app will do, it does. If you can't get it to work then it's most likey because it's in conflict with some other program, or there are too many programs running in the background. Omar gave me specific instructions on how to turn those background programs off, and once I did, everything ran smoothly. Apparnetly the Ipad never turns programs off. Omar is not only a genius, but a really nice, courteous guy. Buy his video app. I promise you, it really does work exactly like he says.

Need “Camera Connect Kit” to view video on iPad Camera Roll. The instructions say you need to use the Camera Connect Kit to view from camera roll! SAVE YOUR MONEY and look elsewhere!!!

Not working correct iOS 13. Not working ios13 notes between file to file all blend together. When the share button is tapped all bookmarks disappear and apps shutdown. If I cld backup my bookmarks and have separated bookmarks that would make this 5stars

Crashes and will not save a video. This app was marginal at first, use to crash on occasion and wipe out all videos and requiring a reinstall. Now since the update it’s pretty much unusable. When it doesn’t crash and you try to save a video to the Media Player, after the app supposedly has saved the video, it does NOT show up in the player. Please fix it!

Stable and quality player that can play almost every formats. I have used this video player for a long time, it has been updating it's functionality following the iOS changes. It is very stable and will play every type of video format I upload on to it. Very satisfied.

Still my go to video app. Does everything I need for download and playback.

Adequte but still got a long way to go. I was excited about this media player after reading all the positive review - yes it DOES play AVI and WMV and MOV but it does a TERRIBLE job playing MKV files - it would not play several of my 1080P MKV files and on some 720P MKV files the video was jerky with NO SOUND. Even on WMV files the picture turns into pixelation on random bases every 2-3 minutes. So far AVI files play smoothly. Given the large file size of MKV files, it's still easier to convert into M4V files which is better playable via Apple's built-in video player. So overall I have mixed feeling about this - yes the price is great and AVI playback is very good, less so on WMV, and it's a no go for high-def MKV files. I think this program has potential to be great so I hope the developer can keep working on it.

Not Working with iPhone 7 Plus. The app is not working with iPhone 7 Plus.

VERY BAD APP STAY AWAY!!!. I bought this as it claimed to be perfect for SD card users. I am shooting videos with a 60d at 1080 and I can import them in the photo app no problem. I can play them from within the photo app no problem. I wanted an app faster to import and with some better features than the ipad native player. Well buying this app was a TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY. Very slow to import clips (348mb clip took 14 minutes), then it says " native format detected play with native player?" If you hit yes then you are back to the ipad built in player (which I was using before buying this piece of crap and wasting my money), if you say no (cancel) then the video DOES NOT PLAY smoothly at all, actually it does not play. And the app ends up crashing. I think this is the worst app I have on my ipad System: IPAD 1 ios5 (no other app open 76mb memory available when testing) Tested on 2 clips shot on canon 60d at 30p 1080 and imported into the photo app via sd card and camera kit. THIS APP DOES NOT WORK AS ADVERTISED...ANY CHANCE TO GET MY MONEY BACK???!!??

Works well but needs a few improvements. In general this app works pretty well and performs as advertised but what it really needs is the ability to import files from the camera connector or camera roll and the ability to convert from one file format to another....especially those that are not compatible with iMovie to formats that are. Most of the Sony camcorders create files in MPG format. What I want to do is to be able to import right from my camcorder to my iPad so I can edit and view while I'm on vacation without having to lug my laptop all over? Regular cameras create in mpg-4 and they work OK for small close up short videos but not for far away or larger shots like filming fireworks or parades or in low light situations. If it could do this! I would easily pay another $10 for it.

Best video player. I've tried multiple video players with frustrating result. This app has been the best one so far. It's very stable and easy to use.

Turned My iPad into a Mobile Media Center. Thank you Azul! My iPad is now a true mobile media center. I was ready to pay upwards of $50 for a good iPad movie converter, no need now. Just drop your movies into the App while your iPad is synced and in a few seconds you are ready to go. I have not tried any of the other features, such as; video clip from email or downloading from the internet and no need to, because at $1.99 it is a steal just to be able to put movies directly on the iPad without conversion. There is no quality loss in either audio or video and all video clips are bookmarked so you can continue where you left off if your viewing in interrupted or you just decide to start watching a different clip. I also purchased the $.99 iPhone version for my iPhone 4 and works just as good.

Needed app for my iPad. I have been trying to make slowly try and figure out how to do everything that I can do my Mac on my iPad and this app really filled a void. My favorite features is the ability to download by dropbox media files in Azul, especially my wmv files that I was not able to view on my iPad before (just paste the link to the azul browser and it downloads them). Secondly I use my iPad for entertainment -- the movies that I have downloaded so far are of decent quality and enjoyable. The TV shows are more designed for the iPhone so the download size is much smaller but the video seems a little pixaled. I am pleased with the app and I would say it is a definete two thumbs up.

Best Downloader ever.. when it works. Hi developer... please know you have an amazing app... But it doesn’t work anymore... I’m a historian and have used this app to download and save information that is no longer available on the internet due to this diabolical movement to keep people from acquiring information that can and will broaden their minds... Anyway the way you the developer has structured this app is truly intuitive I’m ready to invest money if you need to create one that’s $20 I would purchase it.... please fix this app... please... thank you.

An iPad must-have for video enthusiasts. I'm one of those weird people who'd rather encode my movies with the best video/audio codecs and containers properly without having to worry about deviating from what QuickTime will play (and iTunes will allow you to sync). This app bridges the gap, and allows you to upload most any video container and codec combo and play it on your ever-convenient iPad. Azul Media Player is a little crashy with some of the more exotic formats, but is generally reliable. This review would be 4.5 stars if I could give it, though it is closer to 5 and thus gets rounded up. If nothing else, for the genius way they get around iTunes to sync your own video content.

PLEASE FIX THIS!. So it’s really easy to download but one thing when I only download four songs and then another one the fourth song I downloaded was switched with the other song I was going to download and it bothers me a lot!

Bought to convert WMA files. I bought this app, to download and playback WMA files on my iPad Pro. I'm able to import the files without any problem. However, when I click the file for playback, the app crashes. There's suppose to be a video tutorial, that's shown on start up, but that doesn't work either. Since my iPad Pro is fully up to date, I can only assume the app is no longer being supported but makers are still collecting the fees.

More than a video player. Finally we have a program to use for students. Here is a video program that lets you not only make bookmarks where every you want but it also lets you make notes. I am so thankful for a program that more than an entertainment program but a program to help you study. Not everybody out there watches just movies. Some of us have documentaries and films to watch for study and there is no other program out there with these features. Thank you very much for having those features in a video program. Amazing

Great video player. I can store my videos and with two kinds of player I can control the speed and rewind easily. This is a great video player.

Azul. This new update, has made it so I can’t access the internet via the app. All of my saved webpages seem to be gone. It seems the same as VLC app which I only use as storage because I can’t use the internet or save webpages. Some of those websites I don’t have saved anywhere else. I have no way of refining those pages. Also, doesn’t have the option to skip ahead of the video by 10, 15, or 30 seconds.

Blocks content. This app worked great up until the last update which blocks audio on certain video files stating a copyright conflict.

Not worth it.. I upgraded to this version because my Older version from 2014 kept freezing. I am on a new IPad Pro 10.5 . I was using a IPad 6 th generation. Was lost at the airport. I can still download my older version. This version will not stream from my IMac via airplay to my Roku Ultra. On,y the soundtrack shows on the Tv screen. It also will not let airplay stream from websites even though the connection to airplay is made. Glad it is an inexpensive app. The old version worked well for along time.

Update broke it. I have used this as my default video player on my iPad Air 2 practically forever. Suddenly it won’t open. I have to hard reset the iPad and have nothing else open in order for it to work. Too bad for a good App to become unusable. I have deleted it and reloaded to no avail. Only thing works is a reset.

Great for storing and viewing any type of video. Use it all the time and just use iTunes to copy videos on it as needed.

More convenient than Air Video. Great App Overall -- I have both Air Video and Azul and both do an excellent job. Air Video was a pain to setup and when the ip address of computer changes I can't connect. Anyways, what I love about Azul is that since the videos are loaded on my iPad I don't have to worry about having an internet connection. This is extremely beneficial when I'm on the plane where streaming a video is not pratical. 3G streaming is also not pratical as watching a couple of movies would put over my 2GB limit (plus it lags). This app is ideal since I watch videos on my ipad when I am away from home.

Great App now just Good. I updated this on one of the two IPADs i own. I create a lot of content for my wife’s Event Planning business. I normally put it up before the end of the evening on the customers home TV with my Apple TV. The new update removed the “Native TV player pluggin” from the App. Now i cannot show my Videos from that IPAD. I will not update the other IPAD until this is corrected. I humbly request you do this soonest. Thank you.

Berry Nice. This app is really cool. When I first got my iPad, I was so frustrated 1) with iTunes, and 2) because I couldn't play my .avi files. Watching videos whilst on the running machine or just sitting in bed (instead of sitting at my desktop computer for more hours) was one of my main desired uses that I'd seen the iPad as fulfilling - and then I actually got the thing and saw that wouldn't work. I tried a converter app, but there were delay and sync problems. Then I tried Azul and, voila! Not only can I watch my videos without converting them, but I can store them in an in-app library that essentially bypasses iTunes (yeah!). You do open up iTunes when you connect to your computer, but then you can go to an app section in iTunes and just drag 'n drop onto your iPad. The videos show up in the Azul library as nice big thumbnails.

Crashing. App works well but once I start to download an ep of a tv show it crashes :( am I doing something wrong??

Works amazing!. I love it and it's the only media app that can download movies from my wireless external hard drive. It's the best way to work around the iPads storage limits I've found. Keep up the good work!

Cramming lectures and streaming!. This app is awesome and is exactly what I was looking for. Not only can I watch my lectures at 2x speed but I can stream them instead of having to wait for them to download then watch. It works flawlessly with my universities http streaming system (UWA) and is going to save me so much trouble this semester! It crashes quite a lot when streaming but I think that has more to do with the crappy streaming system my university uses (VLC also crashes all the time when streaming on my desktop). Thanks so much guys, this app is a lifesaver.

This App made my dreams come true We are going for a long trip and I had been trying to figure out how to entertain my 6 years old in the car at the back seat by herself I searched the web trying to find out how to convert my existing movies to ipad They cost at least 20 bucks and this app is so easy to use just costs 2 dollars awesome !!

King of cramming lectures. So I went hunting around for a good app that would speed up lectures ala vlc on the computer. This does the job excellently. However, it may just be me failing, but the swipe gestures to increase speed by 25% increments work, but in the speed modifier it just says 1x even though you can tell it's going faster. This is why i don't give it 5 stars. Apart from that, you can click on this 1x button and it increases in .5 increments, perfect for lectures. For the price, and the fact you can take notes whilst listening to the video (at predefined points) make this an excellent purchase for the budding uni student.

Doesn't work. Crashes constantly.

iPad tv out. Does not work. I get an orange screen and sound is ok. All other players seem to work fine.

This app reminds me of the days I was using Microsoft, click something and you still don't know what's going on.......painful. I'm also dealing with painful web sites not good enough

Glitch after update?. Well, I used azul for about a month now. And I had no problems until I updated the app... Any video that I play starts lagging and the audio doesn't play well... PLEASE UPDATE

Very Good. This App was just what i was looking for, now i can whatch a wmv file on my Ipod touch, without having to downlosd the file a 2nd time on my home pc. Works great for me, i can now be out and about with my touch and download avi's and wmv's and watch them straight away.

Freezes with mts from Sony cam. Well just downloaded so I could playback MTS files off cam. Copy the files to iTunes an they show up in Azul. Plays sound while frames lock up. NEXT!

Atoraya. This app is absolutely awesome. It works great with the iPad mail app.

Great until update!. I installed Azul on my iPad1 months ago and love it to death. However, with the recent update, if I'm downloading a file, and for some reason or another, the app closes, when I start the download again it starts from the beginning again and calls the next download -2, etc. Before the update, restarting would mean the download started at the place it was at. Otherwise, I love the app and have had friends and relatives download it on my recommendation.

Won't play Lumix mts files. Purchased this to play mts files from my Lumix camera and the file opens the progress bar moves across the top but the video doesn't play. Basically useless for playing MTS files.

Great with network hdd. This app is the best if you have a network hard drive or have a file share set up, you can have movies, shows, everything saved on the nhd and with the press of a button it's playing on you iPad. Truly a top 5 app

Current version. Love this app! Although, my only problem is that some things won't download when I force download.. They come up on my downloads section as though I've got it, but it's not there. Also, maybe you could create a tabbing section in the browser that opens pop ups in other tabs so that I can watch movies from some websites? Thanks!

Okay playback app. Very easy to drag n drop videos through iTunes interface and plays all my std def avi files so far. Unfortunately, it regularly crashes and then forgets which video it was playing which is annoying. All my vid files are listed in one huge amalgam which makes finding a particular file cumbersome; directory structure would be nice. All up though, it's the best video app in iTunes now that VLC has disappeared.

Not working. I bought this app, loaded it to watch a wmv movie but I couldn't export it to the app. Tried to download the file again in Azul and it crashed and subsequently won't work at all.

Excellent app. I have used this app for years in a free version and very happily bought the paid version. I think this app is almost faultless. It downloads apps directly from the web, it stores them neatly and it has security options.

Crashes and restarts my iPad. Pretty consistently crashes with various flv's I'm trying to watch causing my iPad to restart. Fairly frustrating and wish I didn't pay for this app. AVPlayer works much better and also has a better folder system. Good for OCD people like me who like to organise

Just doesn't work. Save yourself a dollar and just skip this one. I get sound, and a frozen picture (which is somehow more frustrating than if there was no sound or picture at all). Fingers crossed we'll soon get an app that can handle more than avi well.

Help. Up until recently this was a great app until I went to play a movie, all I got was an orange screen with the sound playing when I played it through my TV, please fix this bug as it is otherwise a great app to have

Just crashes when downloading. So far, every single file I've tried to download using the built-in downloader has caused Azul Media Player to crash. I feel pretty ripped off and will probably request a refund if I keep experiencing this. Will post a revised review if I can get this app to work properly.

Pixelates Video. I download a couple of .mov files. Azul gave me the option to watch them in the native iPad app and they played fine. However when I watch the same videos in Azul, they are pixelated and blocky with lots of compression artifacts. Have not yet tried any other file formats as I'm not motivated to persevere with this product.

Nice. It is really good, downloaded movies from my mac, played perfectly on the Ipad, however i couldnt arrange my movies in folders which i found it little bit annoying especially if you have many files.

Great App, Great Support. What more can be said for an app that avoids, the hell of cataloging100s of TV episodes and Movies in itunes. The app crashes trying to transfer more than one file at a time, but once you stick to one at a time using an ftp browser, you can just select the files you want and walk away. I am definitely a fan of not having to convert all my old .avi to mv4 just so I can watch them on my ipad away from home. Thanks Azul

Fantastic!. As advertised. Avi, xvid, divx work great on ipad2. Easy drop and go interface. No hassle converting format, this app is a godsend. Now, to pry the device from the kids. Update: bought av hdmi adapter yesterday. Do get yellow screen on initial attempt upon opening app. Second (or third) attempt succeeded...full screen, nice!

Poor Design. This media player is good, with the exception that some playback settings are controlled by touching (swiping) the screen. That means that if you get a piece of dust on the screen and you brush it off, all of a sudden your playback speed is set to 1.5X instead of normal. Swipe it again (anywhere on the whole screen), and now your playback is set faster than the app can handle and the audio gets choppy. This seems to me like a really poor design for a touchscreen device because the when the entire screen controls settings it's too easy to mess stuff up by accident. And they are features I don't want access to anyway... all the regular features (skip 30 seconds, volume, etc) are simple buttons on the screen like they should be, and the settings I wouldn't use that are the ones that are full screen touch sensitive. I've emailed the developer asking for a setting to turn off the full screen swipe features months ago, and still no update and no response. Buy this app if you want, but know what you're going to deal with when you do. I wish I did, as is the case with most apps that have fatal flaws they don't tell you about before you purchase.

Not satisfied at all !!. Bought Azul, after experimenting some subtitles (srt) problems with CineX...they tended to disappear at about 75% of the video. Well, with Azul, the subtitles seem a bit foggy, more difficult to read, and also at the beginning of the video, when you put the subs on, the video freezes for about 10 seconds, while the audio continues on. So I'm very dissappointed with Azul, and since came back to the new version of CineX.

Great Video Player. I've downloaded a few players and this is my favorite. It plays any video format - so I don't have to convert avi and mkv files to Apple formats. It also easily plays subtitles. Just add files via iTunes. You can surf the web and download videos from within the app, though it can take a fair bit of time to download. Still have to work with this feature to see if it works optimally. It works really well for my needs. Definitely worth the minimal cost.

So far, really great! Only missing AirPlay support. I just bought this app, and it seems really great! It actually DOESN'T need a separate server app running on your computer for translation. (The first app I know for the iPad that does this! They should advertise that fact on their description!) The only issue I have found so far, is that for some inexplicable reason it doesn't support AirPlay. I gave it a 4 star rating, but with this feature it would definitely be a 5 star rating. If it was to add AirPlay support, so I could watch movies directly on my AppleTV, it would be the ultimate video player for the iPad!

Useless. I simply couldn't play anything on it. I'd love to have my money back.

5 star app. It does every thing its supposed to. If you cant get it to work for you, I am assuming its a user issue... been using it since two years. Excellent movie player, will recommend to all. Only issue is stability. Occasionally application crashes. But thats rare and usually due to downloads...

So far so good. Just bought this app to have something to open wmv files in emails attachments. Just tried 3 files and this app worked perfectly. Only gave a 4 rating as I have noted tried other file types yet. Like the title says 'so far so good' , no delays, video worked smoothly and easy to download without any tutorials.

This is very bad software. This doesn't worth even penny in fact if u get it for free don't install it. I have brand new iPad 3 that now blocking cause of tis application. Videos are hardly playing and it looks like kindergarten player not even one command is working, my God DO NOT INSTALL THIS

Awesome!. I have a lot of .avi files that I wanted to store and play on my iPad and also hook up my iPad to my TV. I've tried several apps and Azul is, by far, the best... and the price is incredible. I've tried: Cinexplayer: hate it, hate it, hate it... doesn't support many audio formats and, yeah, I hate it. Buzz Player: That's the one I was using before Azul and (as per me) it's the second best. But it doesn't support TV-Out and when you pause a movie, the audio goes out of sync. My wishlist for Azul: FOLDERS!! I would love to be able to organize my files within the app. AppleTV audio/video support. All in all, an awesome app. Looking forward to future updates!

Doesn. I bought this app to watch some videos that won't play with iTunes and/or Apple Videos. The first ones I tested were MP4's. They play perfectly using Azul UNTIL I engage AirPlay - then they become choppy and heavily pixelated. This app is okay if all you do is watch video on your iPad. However, it is useless if you want to use AirPlay! The same problem occurs with an HDMI connection.

Great app.. Only issue I have is that it doesn't work on Apple TV.

Solid app. Solid app that i used since day one that i bought my ipad.

Does not work. Tried it, emailed myself a small wmv file, held the button for three seconds, selected "open in Azul" Azul opened, I waited 60 seconds, nothing happened.

Works great!!!. Pretty good experience so far; haven't tried all my videos yet, but so far absolutely no problem everything plays well. No sub yet but according to the owner, this is in the pipeline.

Not worth it. A complete and utter waste of a couple of bucks. Cannot(will not) play avi or mkv except very choppily with sound out of synce by 3 seconds. Sometimes just a blank screen with audio. I want my money back.

does everything it's supposed to do. Works very well for all the formats I've thrown at it. A couple of reviewers complained that it crashed when they played movies while downloading something at the same time. What did they expect? The iPad isn't a multi-core desktop computer; resources are limited. Some people have unrealistic expectations.

Can unzip and play music files. I was very surprised when I downloaded a zip file through the Azul browser and Azul automatically unzipped the file and put the files into my library. I didn't know you could use Azul as a file extractor or a music player.

Pretty good video app. Wow, I'm really happy with this purchase. it's a great multi video format player app with some added bonuses. the biggest one is that you can import video from your camera roll (iPad 2) thus allowing you an easy way to get exported video projects from iMovie over to iTunes in .mov format.

Needs work.... Crashes a lot. Freezes a lot. Frequently get audio but no video. Sometimes after a few attempts the file will play. No understanding of why it did not play the first few times. App is great concept. I will review again once bugs are fixed.

Great app. Not only does this app do everything it says it will it was also easy as pie to set up. I'm not the most computer literate but I had no problems. Customer service is top notch I had a question sent an email and 15 min later had a helpful response. Another great thing is that as a new apple user I didn't have to convert my files. 5+ stars for azul!!!!!

Not bad. So far I must say it is pretty good. It plays mp4 choppy but it asks to use native app QuickTime to play it , which does well. Everything else looks ok. Wish there was more features however is is why I give 3 stars. Looking forward to next update.

Complete garbage. This app had so much potential and use unfortunately the developers are so lazy they decided not to fix some minor bugs. You download a video and then when you go to play it has completely downloaded the wrong video waste of money

Needs a little work.. Initial impression of the player was good but not excellent. When adding the password function, it will not allow you to enter a password in landscape mode, the keyboard and prompt stays in portrait mode. That's pretty annoying, and now when navigating folders, it will not let me go to the parent folder once I enter a subfolder. I think the folder bug was introduced with the last update. Can you add the capability to save passwords for websites? Overall not bad, fix those things and it will be perfect.

iPad Problem. Works well on my iPhone4; does not work on my iPad2. On iPhone, there is a prompt to select Azul; on iPad, it just shows "loading" for an indefinite length of time, so I must abort and move on. UPDATE: no iPad Problem; it was operator error; was not aware of need to tap and hold wmv attachments in email to get Azul prompt. Works well!!!

Native Player in Azul. Now when I want to play a video in Azul media player, that I associated with Azul to begin with---I did not want to use the Native player, I get the message "Native format detected Play using native player? Cancel OK." That was the purpose of associating my video files with Azul in the first place---I DID NOT WANT TO USE THE NATIVE IPAD VIDEO PLAYER! Get this message out of your app or a way to shut it off for the video file---this seems like a roundabout way of playing video files in Azul vs the "Native player". Remeber that's why I went to the trouble of associating each and every video with Azul and not the "Native player!"

Great and easy to use app. Generally the key to an amazing app is simplicity... That being said this app is great because I can simply start up the app and download a video if I choose, or in my case just use the iPad dropbox app, and simply do "open in" Azul and watch my non apple videos. It absolutely replaces the built in video app and without a doubt a worth the price.

Does exactly what it says. Movies and tv shows are a breeze to download. Not just some 2 minutes clips, but full movies and full tv episodes. This is hands down the BEST player out there... Works great and can't beat the price! Can't understand some of the negative reviews -- this is great app for your iPad.

AZUL leads the pack!. This is what iPad users have been waiting for a player that can has a great interface that can play videos besides what has been download from iTunes. I simply love the integrated browser. I downloaded the app without any problems, watched the tutorial videos and haven't looked back since. Suprised to see even a single negative review. By the way did anyone notice it's $0.99? Kudos to Azul for stepping up and filling the void and forward thinking enough to make the iPad more usable for all of us. ps. TV out rocks!

Great Value; Great Service. So, this app is one of the best I've downloaded since VLC went off the app stores and it does what that app did and so much more. I love it. I also love the guy who makes it. I was having issues and he responded to my emails quickly and professionally and now I am going to spread the word about his apps. This is a fantastic app at a great price and you get some great technical service as well. An all around ten in my mind.

Best video app on the store. Not really sure why this is getting bad reviews as it's such a fantastic app. I bought this app a few months back and look forward to every new update. Every addition has great new features and cool new tweaks (the new video streaming is awesome), some that are only explained well on the tutorial page (which you must visit to recieve the full potential of this app). Plays basically every format really nicely and the developers seem to do the Apple approach and try to make what's already good even better. Thankyou for such a great app and I look forward to all the future updates :)

Highly Recommend. WOW!!! One of the best iPad apps! No more conversion. Plays all my divx movies with no problem so far. These guys are great because they keep updating to make it better. So easy to upload via iTunes and I believe it's the only app that will allow you to download directly on to the iPad. Worth every every cent! One minor incident.. It did crash and rebooted my iPad2 after about 10 mins into the movie but I tried playing it again and it played fine, but that was on the previous version. I'd still give it a 5 stars. Keep it up!!!

Works great. I don't know what the other reviewers have been talking about; this app has yet to crash on me and has played every file I have thrown at it. Great to use when I want to take a vid with me but don't want to deal with syncing or hooking up cables. Interface makes it easy to nagivate through the pages and find the vid I am looking for.

pretty awesome. This app is really cool. Being able to download my favorite shows makes it a really convenient and easy app to use. What makes it even better is that it only $0.99 cents. Don't even think about wasting money by paying $2.99 for the other apps. I promise this app is not only cheaper but actually better!

Awesome Media Player. I've tried many different players, but this is the best by far! I have my 4 year old daughters media collection on my IPad and it took her only minutes to learn how to scroll through the thumbnail library and play her favorite shows. And it requires no conversion of the .avi files!!! I can just select and load the videos I want for her in just minutes!!! I LOVE AZUL MEDIA PLAYER!!!

Awesome. This app is truly amazing. It plays all the video files you could possible imagine (or fit on your iPad). I mainly use it to open downloaded files from log me in ignition, but it works with safari, icab, etc. This app is truly one of the best apps ever made. Great work, developer. Great Tech Support!!!. I had trouble figuring out how to put folders into the app. Wrote an email to them, and got a reply in less than 24 hrs. from one of the tech's, Omar. He walked me through the process via emails, and also provided screen captures to aid in the explanation. Great service and support... I highly recommend this app!

Nice addition for handling pesky wmv's. I was surprised by this apps low cost and feature set. The complaints others have do not seem to detract from the overall usefulness of the player and I've not found any significant deficiencies. It even interfaces well with dropbox allowing you to transfer wmv's easily between OS platforms. By and large a very useful app and kudos to the developer for a making a low-cost content enabling app.

Good program. Updated review... I use two programs AVPlayerHD and Azul Media Player. Everyone's need may be a little different, but I wanted features including skip forward/backward, gesture control, easy download to iPad from computer (not via iTunes), privacy, etc. AVPlayerHD has more customization on playback with gesture support, which wins me over. However, Azul has an amazing ability to annotate and bookmark videos. Really like thumbnails, which seems to be distinctive feature for this program for now.

First Impression. So I decided to try this app. I have been using vlc player and it has worked great but with no updates the app has fallen behind, like when using HDMI Video out it never really goes full screen. But Azul Media Player so far has played all my media that vlc has played with no problems and to top it off it works with airplay and when I use my HDMI out with my ipad 2 it plays the video's at full screen. I have experience no lag between the video and audio. But I have not tested the download feature yet.

Missing 5.1 down-mix or multiple audio streams and doesn't warn in 'need to know'. I would think that not being able to play back 5.1 audio properly is a major 'need to know' before purchasing. The audio plays, but seems like it is just the L&R channel so no dialogue, or other center/surround audio is played. Don't see any way to choose audio track either when multiple audio streams are in the file.

Just the kind of app I like - worth every cent.. Got a lot of movies on, say, AVI or MKV formats and can't figure out how to get them into your iPad? Get this. Now. I just did some minutes ago and I'm impressed with how it makes a breeze from what would otherwise have been a cumbersome converting/exporting/importing process. It even handles subtitle files (.srt) just the way you would expect. I'm not much interested in the downloader although it may come in handy sometime, given a decent broadband connection I guess. Definitely, absolutely recommended.

This app is awesome and the UI is great!. For the users, we are more concerned about how to import the movie to the device more fast, as well as the format question. This player can play almost all video format, and you can use built-in download download free movies and TV shows directly from the Internet. Incredible!!. It supported almost all my movie file in my laptop, with this i dont need to wait for any video converter anymore, the video plays very smooth and no lag at all, support well my subtitle utf8 and especially the downloader from many video source. Hope that they will support more video source in the future.

almost but no. I was excited because the only thing the free VLC player wouldn't play was MKV files. I was looking for a player that did, the description says you do, but if the file is 1280x720 then it's a no go. My whole point was to avoid the process of converting the files with hand-break etc. Unfortunately it didn't work. The file wont play correctly. On the other note the other files played perfectly, looked great, but I was already able to do that with VLC for Free. Live and Learn .99

Great app that fills iPad's video format gap. I love this app. I've never had a movie file it wouldn't play, the interface is nice, syncing files is easy. The latest update adds some helpful features. I'm still trying out some of the other movie players but this one is my favorite so far.

Useful app. The lack of video support on ios leaves a lot of gaps, this app fills in a lot of them nicely. This is my first app like this, and I was satisfied with the apps ability to play several different video files. Downloading videos and being able to save them to the iPad is really neat. I don't always have wifi, so being able to save some videos before a trip, and then watch them later is handy. Presentation is good, I like having thumbnails of all the videos on the main page. I would like to create folders that contain several videos within but didn't see this option. In my opinion this would be useful because you could create folders for children, and others for yourself. Getting used to how to use the app takes some time. The tutorials that are provided help, but there is still a learning curve for a first time user of this kind of app. Overall, I am surprised how well this app works, and am satisfied by the purchase.

Azul media plyer. This is a terrific app and an absolutely necessary one for the iPad. I Am extremely happy with it's ease of use and flexibility. All posted complaints I've read, and there are few, appear to be OS5 problems, not Azul's. Great work. Thank you. Works well with subtitles. I'm using this app to view current jdramas with separate subtitle files. The app shows the videos with great clarity and the subtitles (srt files) work fine. I really like the app. And the support is great. I didn't know how to delete files and when I sent a message to the support site, I got an immediate solution to my problem.

Great improvement over iPad video player. App should be named Videos+. Really this plays almost any format and then you add in the native player support to it and it is as close to perfect as you could possibly get. Bonus: The "Open in Azul" options works great when using both the Mail app as well as Safari. Well worth the money no doubt!

I like that it has multiple functions. First of all I was not sure of the download capability however it ran smoothly and worked for me. Moreover its always good to have multiple options when configuring a video application so kudos. This app fufills many functions for a good price.

Awesome Update. All of my videos play perfectly now after the update. No videos that only play the background track. Couldn't be more satisfied. The best player on the market. The only request I have is the option to truly change my aspect ratio. HD support is also a must. Thanks for the fix! Was finding another player.

Very flexible. this app supports so many different video types. the interface was a little confusing at first but after i got the hang of it i realized how powerful the app actually is. all the settings allows you to customize it to your own needs. It crashed on every other song i tried to import from my library. that costs a star, but only one because after the crash it seems like the import did work.

hope to see this program become more flexible. I like this program a lot. I watch a lot of foreign films so being able to have subtitle support was great! However, i don't see an option in letting me set to view the subs as a default option. I hope they develop another option where one can select between subtitles in different languages and audio in different languages. Til then 4 stars. :D

Media player on Steroids?. The user interface is pretty clean and using the app has been fairly simple -- Although I did have to watch the tutorials to be able to figure out how to. Overall a nice step in the right direction, I'm looking forward to more features being added in the future such as bookmarks in the built in browser. Being able to download movies on the go is by far my favorite feature -- divxcrawler (dot) com rocks! I think this is a must have for every iPad.....

Installed and put it to work (WMV).... Yep got an email today with two WMVs in it, so went looking for an app to handle, and found this one - Azul. I bought based on the strong reviews (and great price)... this is must have add-on. I installed it, then went to my email, tapped on a WMV file, hit the "open in Azul" button, and it played each video immediately without issue!

can be better. this app is good for playing movies or long videos. but what about music videos or a list of short videos? How do I play only the music videos if I want to? all the files are dumped in one location, imagine having hundreds of files, if you want to play just the music videos, you have to manually make a playlist, and there is only place for one playlist..... i know there are folders but they are useless, you can only play one file from a folder and then playing stops, so again you need to make a playlist and overwrite your previous one....dumb, no better then what you can do with ios built in app. yeah, I know it plays many formats and you can download stuff but the playlist/folders strategy has to be seriously redesigned. add the option to play folders (with a randomize option) and/or add several playlists and I'll be happy. Until then, I regret paying for this app...

Access to camera roll folder would be nice.. It plays almost everything except crashed on me few times on one flash movie. It would be nice to access the camera roll folder so movies shot by iPad or imported by camera connection kit can be played too. Most other picture editing software already have access. To that folder to import pictures why not this player? ThNks

GREAT service. As an unreasonably inept user I had to e-mail azul for a little help today. "Omar" there responded immediately with a question. I answered, he again got right back to me with an explanation, a suggestion and a test file (which proved unnecessary given the explanation and suggestion). Problem solved (me!). FAST. These guys speak "customer service".

Had sound issues with some xvid files. I tried Azul with a few xvid files on my ipad that Cineplayer couldn't play. Azul seemed to playback the video flawlessly, but in both cases the sound had problems (AC3 5.1 encoded, I believe) - music and sound effects were fine, but voices were basically so quiet as to be inaudible. It's as if Azul didn't properly play back sounds that were only played over the center channel. BUZZ Play was able to play these files just fine on the ipad, so it's a problem with Azul's playback, not the files themselves. I like Azul's interface, so hopefully they'll fix these issues and have wider compatibility.

Fantastic Movie Player. I really like this movie player on the iPad. It's great for all the movie formats that you can't synch through iTunes. The only complaint I had was fixed in the last revision. The addition of a few minor features would make this movie player perfect. First, I'd really like to be able to download media from my Dropbox or mobileme iDisk. It would also be nice if the movies in the player could be organized into folders or displayed in a list.

Outstanding. I wasted 5 bucks on cinexplayer and it didn't do what this 99c app did....play avi files. I spent $39 on a media file converter before I found this app as well. All I wanted to do was to watch my 350mb avi Star Trek episodes instead of 1.7GB M4a files. Now thanks to Azul I can carry 2 seasons of episodes instead of 8 shows. Also plays wmv flawlessly.

Doesn't fully support all it claims. Bought this primarily for flv support and seamless native player support. The native player stuff works great, and is the only saving grace (for my purposes). It ably plays flvs... I sometimes have to attempt to play an flv about a dozen times before it seems to begin. Also, I find this app a bit difficult to navigate, but that's likely just me. If flv support is tuned a bit better, I would be happy to provide a better rating!

This is a must. If you enjoy watching TV programs or movies downloaded from Torrent sites, this is for you. No conversion necessary anymore. No importing to iTunes needed, nearly as simple as drag and drop. I use it daily and it has only crashed once. One small glitch, when you pause a program, it loses good lip sync, but clicking done and then restarting (from where you left off) puts it back in sync. Love this app.

When an app performs as expected what more can you ask?. Did it exceed my expectations? No. Has it performed as advertised and met my needs and expectations? Yes. When an app performs as expected and meets your needs then it is a good performer and receives high marks. My only wish is that I would also like to use it for ‘sleep learning’; therefore, I would like a way to link concurrent videos to run. Even without this additional functionality it is an excellent app and worth the money I paid. Thank you.

Huge time saver. All in all this a BUY. The best avaliable at the moment, the picture quality is great and not having convert my movies to mp4 anymore is a huge timesaver. Secondly being able to download new movies directly makes this app a no brainer. Putting the tutorials in the app is a great idea too...

Plays almost anything. The good: Azul plays almost anything. (Very impressive!) It has a simple thumbnail view to select video files. And you can use it's built in browser to pull files from the web. It is the best video player I have encountered. The 2.0 upgrade fixed the crashing issues. It is stable. The not so good: Azul doesn't play some 1280x720 windows media files very well. (then again, I don't believe anything does). The password screen (if you use that feature) is portrait only. Even when your iPad is landscape. Really a minor thing, but could use attention. Overall: A really good product, best there is that I have found. I recommend it.

The nightmare is over... I have been battling with getting Avi. And other formats to properly play on the I-pad with a variety of apps... All bad or never did what promised. The Azul player works and let's me download directly from FBIscreener site, which I could do never before without a computer interface and file transfer. Bravo great app.

Makes My iPad More Versatile. I had been unable to access the registered member portion of the Highmark website. I get getting an error message. I had used Azul many times to view various videos on the internet with my iPad & was pleased with it's performance. It took me a while to figure out how to get it to open as a browser, but once I did and again went to the Highmark website. I had absolutely no problem signing on and performing all the functions I had formerly done only from my Windows computer. Thanks Azul!

Pretty good. The fact that it's a download manager and a good video player is awesome. That said, I have a free download manager and a video player app that's just as good. What would really make this 5 stars IMO is if it could also unrar the downloads you download with it. That way you wouldn't have to go to other apps to get everything else done and it would be a one stop shop. That said, it works and does its job well, but won't get 5 stars till the unrar ability.
