Phenomenal work. This is hands down my favorite podcast. Especially when musicians are on the show. I get to hear brilliant conversations with hero’s of mine! Doesn’t get any better! Jeremy from Winchester, VA

Love it!. Intelligent, straight talking, informative and entertaining. What more could you ask for. No BS!

Humor-philosophy. Funny and thought provoking

The best interviews ever!. I’ve been listening since 2009. I totally relate to Marc Maron’s musings on life. And his follow up questions during the interviews make him the best interviewer today.

Podcast for anyone. I've loved Marc since the first time my brother in law introduced him. He's bet the odds, in my book, of being a tragic hero. He's got his demons, as we all do, but he uses them for good by letting us all in on a glimpse of life. Real life. Not reality tv. He interviews-- I don't even say that-- he TALKS to real people. All kinds of people. From THE (former) PRESIDENT to Sarah Silverman. Politicians, COMIDANS, actors, journalist, you name it. This app, even with just the download, gives you access to a good taste sample of Marc's most recent episodes with a few from way back to start. This podcast "started" in 2009 and freaking took off into space with its wit, charm and laughs. My favorite part, I think, is hearing the podcasts of people who have passed and how they laughed with Marc. He puts people at ease when he talks to you because he doesn't get caught up in your title. He wants to hear from you, and yes that includes your jobs and what you've done, but HOW did you get there. WHAT made you...you. He's perfection to your ears in every ounce of the word. What a great man.

Still a loyal fan , as I can relate and easy to use app. For starters I have no relationship with Marc Other then a loyal fan. . Never seen him in on stage but would if he came close to my part of the country (Sacto Ca.) I like the new style app and saw no reason to change but whatever the reason is , I will go with the flow.. I've wrote about Marc which only stated that I can relate to his style but I'm almost his twin brother other then age (61) .. (Father issues, cat lover, like to hear the non-normal, non traditional Jew, divorced, searcher for love , guitar hacker, etc) I have the premium as it's not that much and if I want to go back and hear something about somebody then I have the option.. Just had a huge discussion with a good friend with me supporting Marc and him supporting Ted.. We agreed to disagree that his style was Ted and mine is Marc.. So the score is Marc many and Ted not so many

Marc. I started listening to Mark at episode 30. There’s nobody better.

The guy that always asks you talk to Eminem. Otherwise, no complaints. Keeep the good coming sir. Been listening since before you a theme song. It’s been awhile.

Love Marc!. He's the best!

Hendrix of Podcasting. Marc is the Hendrix of podcasting! Nobody comes close!

Fabulous and Real. As ever. Thanks Marc.

Long Live Boomer.. The cat is cool and all but Marc Maron is my spirit animal.

One of the best interviewers of today. Marc Maron uniquely able to engage not so much an interview but more a mesmerizing conversation with a diverse array of known and unknown entertainers and leaders of all types and ages.

Smart and funny. Always interesting guests. I love Marc’s attitude.

Simply the best. I’ve been listening to Marc since 2009...with so many great podcasts out now I don’t listen to every episode like I used to, but I always come back. Marc is the best interviewer, hands down.

From a guy. Hey Mark, I work in the film biz, a crew guy. I Am currently working on Deputy. You are a very gifted interviewer. You can tap into people and get them to tell there stories. I love the stories that make people who they are. I learned a lot listening to you interview film directors, actors, writers and comedians. 15 plus years in the biz and I now have new prospectives and a little more patients on set. When you talk about our political situation unfortunately you validated the fear I get watching our president. Is he smart with his shock jock style of office. Is it a reality tv hook, the train wreck you can’t stop watching? Or even more frightening, is he really that clueless? That said, out of all your crafts I appreciate your podcast the most. It has broadened my horizons and validated the inner panic I sometimes feel. Love the show Mark, nice work. ........................... Boomer Lives !!!!

Better than talk radio. Mark has great guests. The interviews seem effortless. It's like overhearing a conversation between a couple old friends.

Annoying unnecessary red alerts, can’t turn them off.. I don’t need to “interact” w yr app Maron. Please stop crawling up my phone’s a**.

Mark M. Super funny super cool way at looking at life.

Great in depth interviews. Informative and gives insight into the character of the interviewees

Still my favorite. Marc’s podcast is the first one I started listening to, way back in episode 72. Now he is at 1000! Way to go Marc! This will always be my favorite. Boomer lives!!

Always interesting. Been listening to Maron for years. Never get tired of his guests. And good questions. Smart guy.

Great App. App is easy to use and keeps me up to date. Love listening to Marc Maron on my walks from the train station.

Great Podcasr. Marc is a great interviewer. Has great guests, and treats them respect and humor. Love listening.

Maron. I usually don’t enjoy interview podcasts, but quite frankly Maron has a style and a manner that gets people to say things I otherwise may never have known about them. Some are fascinating, And the guests that I initially find uninteresting, surprisingly let something out that makes me want to listen a little more intently. When comedians are on, and start sharing their life experiences, those are the most fascinating

Marc's the best. I can't explain in accurate words how much I enjoy this podcast, and Marc in general. I am a musician that hopes to one day talk to Marc in person. Thanks for making the days a little brighter!

Marc Maron. Love this Podcast. Been listening for years now. Just keeps getting better. All my best to Marc!

Dana Gould show. Too much Marc Maron at beginning. More Dana Gould.

Excellent app. Easy application to maneuver through from the get go! It will sometimes randomly skip to next interview, perhaps it's my iPhone. I couldn't have gotten through a recent long drive without this app, it made the hours roll by. The favorites category made it easy to quickly pick interviews while driving. Thanks to Mark he got me through a rough time with some lonely nights away from home dealing with a tragedy. It's worth the small investment, for hours and hours of entertainment. Five stars!

The Original. Marc may not be the first podcaster but he’s the best! Do yourself a favor and give him a listen.

Works Great. It does exactly what it’s supposed to do.

Maron rocks. Sorry for your loss. Lynn told great stories in her films. I’m so glad you got to know her deeply. Take care of yourself while you grieve. I support you in which ever way you choose, on air or not. As I’ve listen to you mature over the years, it’s impactful to me when you share your thoughts and feelings with your audience. Thanks for that. It helps me mature, too.

The app works. Maron rules.. The app has been with me since it launched. I like it.

Fun!. I enjoy this podcast - lots of interesting guest interviews. 👍🏻

The best. The title says it all.

Great interviewer. Mr. Marin. Has a great interview style. He asks the questions that I would ask. His method is simple. He starts with asking about where people grew up and just follows the timeline of his guest’s life. His personal observations reflect what a lot of people are feeling yet don’t verbalize. Love listening to him.

What I think about this.. Marc does what Marc does best; talk. I enjoy. If you have never heard of him try it. If he is your kind of personality spread the word. If not, buy the upgrade and then talk trash; lol. To sum it up: great interviews, witty banter, and a few good musical performances make this a decent app.

Thank you. Got me through some tough times. At least slowed the impact

Always good. Marc is as thoughtful as he is self deprecating. His interviews bring out the humanity in his guests and allow his audience to find commonality in thought, experience, and / or emotion to whoever is behind the mic. I have friends that live and die by Stern interviews, which I also enjoy, but Marc can get just as much out of his guests, without the forced ‘show’. Other interviewers have their techniques, as well, but tears or gotcha questions aren’t necessary to see into the heart of someone. Marc’s style is curious. The subtlety and subtext speak volumes.

Good, Great, Grand, Wonderful!. Love it. Good interviews, never seen your stand up but I will check it out. I listen to this a lot while I’m at work to pass the time and just have to say thanks! Thanks for the entertainment!

Marc. Marc you’re doing great. Such a fantastic interviewer. Thank you.

Just a guy .... Marc is a no BS guy who speaks his mind and has a lot of the same world views as I do. It’s comforting to have a voice out there that can relate what is going on in this day and age... and move on . This is what makes him a great interviewer. He makes his guests comfortable and has a genuine interest in their lives. And he’s just a funny bastard .

Epic. On every level ✔️

this podcast might save your life. Marc Maron is a brilliant comic who will soothe your anxieties through shared commonalities. His monologues are both humorous and rabbinical...his interviews are deep, intense, intellectual and fun.

When you want it like it is ...... Marc (with a c) Maron is a self proclaimed Jewish curmudgeon who takes the headlines of the day and slaps you in the face with them - and all of a sudden ... they make sense. And he does it all in a sentence or two. His guests are diverse and he gets the most from them, with odd care. I adore this man! Thank you Marc Maron for making my life easier - at your expense.

Best thing since sliced bread. :) love the podcast l! The only problem is, I can’t control my laughter so people on the train think I’m crazy.

Best podcast app. Probably because it’s the best podcast.

Awesome. Love the download feature. 👌

Marc Maron shines!. Probably one of the best collection of interviews one can find! This is thanks to Marc’s engaging approach using his substantive and insightful dialogue with his guests. Brilliant and entertaining!

Maron!. As an anger-fueled anxiety riddled AA projectionist (not the kind that plays movies), Maron gets me.

Great show. Always interesting

Real interviewing. All you US tv talk show hosts and their producers take note - these are incredible interviews giving us actual insight into artists and creative process. Not just marketing opportunities and idiotic sound bites. Marc you are awesome!

Funny, interesting, and insightful. Love the way Marc communicates with the listener, and his guests. The more I listen, the more I'm liking Marc Maron, I've actually learned things about myself from listening to him which I really didn't expect. He usually has people that I'm either a fan of, or at least curious about, and the app itself is very user friendly. Get into it and enjoy.

Just great.. Great app, great interviews, great!

Too many ads. Lh

Love it. Love it

Outstanding Podcast. Outstanding podcast - Marc is insightful, perceptive and delivers an intelligent podcast in an interview based podcast.

Great podcast. I listen to this guy while I work. Brilliant stuff!!!! Listened to all the new ones and just paid $10 to listen to all the old ones. Worth every cent. Not just hours but days of entertainment. Hope he comes back to Australia so I can see him live.

My weekly ritual. I love this podcast. It's funny, honest and interesting.

Best podcast ever!!!!!. 6 stars

Problem with the new app. So happy you can download straight to your phone now cause I listen when I'm out and about and don't have to use my data! Something's wrong with the new app though. If you don't download Ep straight to your phone the interview cuts off a few mins before the end.

Great app, great podcast. Good interface, features and content. For a free app this is pretty hard to fault. Dig it.

Excellent podcast. The app works well, is easy to manage and the content from Marc is excellent.

Not what it use to be.... Why can't we no longer in app purchase our subscription?! It was much easier that way then the new way.

The man. Marc is too good. He has all of the same interests and likes as me and more. Such an entertaining smart, panicky nutbag. I love him.

Great. Groundbreaking.

Simply the best. No need for anything else! If you only listen to one podcast, this is the one!

Very good stuff!. Dead easy to browse and play. The podcasts themselves are hilarious, informative and entertaining - lots of great interviews on offer!

My saving grace. Great app, all too easy to fill my ears with wisdom, humour and expand my brain.

Brilliant. Best purchase. Incredible interviews. Worth every penny and am happy to support Marc Maron and this amazing podcast.

Love it. Very funny. Great interviews. 👍

Fantastic app! Marc Maron is the coolest!. Fantastic app! Marc Maron is the coolest!

Outstanding. Maron's podcast is a thing of real beauty, I listen to a lot of shows but this is THE one to listen to. App works well no problems.

My Second attempt at a review, Avoid this app. This app is a complete rip-off. You have to pay extra for some of the older podcasts. And it is also full of advertising as if it was a free app, I would love a refund please.

Awesome. Awesome.

I use this app everyday!. Marc Maron is the best, I love the interview and I love him. If I was gay I'd toss his f-ing salad.

The best. This man is amazing

Awesome. As a comedian he makes an awesome interviewer. Well worth the price of admission!

Love the Maron. He's funny. He's chaotic. He's on the fly. He's honest. And he's still figuring it all out right here with you and a remarkable variety of guests. Get aboard.

Great conversations. Good interviewers are rare, however Marc is one. Listen and enjoy.

Great!. Great app, great content and excellent interface for Marc's podcasts.

THE podcast. Maron knows how it all works. Perfect insight into comedy. Highly recommend the premium version.

Great app. I'm rarely willing to spend money on apps, but am genuinely happy to pay for the premium version of this one. Love the podcast!

Best podcast of them all.. Best podcast of them all. Hands down.

All Day. I listen to Marc Maron everyday at work for 7-8 hours a day. Keeps me entertained, keeps me laughing, keeps me listening. His work is outstanding, as an interviewer and as a stand up. One of my favorites. Please give this podcast a listen, you'll be hooked. POW!

Joy. So fun. So good. So many options on how to dig into the treasure trove of material. My jumping off point was Gary Shandling. You'll have your own. A triumph Mr. Maron!

Awesome!. No one gets such intimate information from so much different comedic performers! Great stuff!

Marc's delivering!. Fantastic show marc! IFC, book, keep it coming!

Love it!. I love this app - I love Marc Maron... Boomer lives!

Marc Marons podcast. This is an addition to my review below...I can't believe how great these interviews! So I'm half way through my 6th episode (I picked Steven Wright) and after Marc listed off all the interviews I missed I decided to just order the damn full year subscription. Best investment I've made on here to date, you can't put price on hundreds of hours of laughs and top notch interviews. , I accidentally came across MM while listening to Al Franken on Air America. I got so hooked on morning sedition and the MM show and actually stopped listening to Al altogether. Since those shows ended I sort of lost touch with Marc. I am so happy I found this podcast! I've already listened to 5 or so episodes and it's freakin awesome. Great to hear Jim Earl's voice on a couple. I downloaded all the audio content from earls site and have probably listened to each one 10 times. "Free gum? Free gum?" "hi I'm senior producer Dan Pachmen" "dude you got any pot?" My all time favorite was when you guys revisited the episode that Reagan was dead and Marc's handling of it all. Huge Canadian fan Maron.

A+. It's as good as they say.

I'd like to pay.... I downloaded this app anticipating that I'd be paying for older episodes, which is 100% acceptable. After poking around for 5 minutes, I couldn't even figure out how to give them my money. Even after realizing they don't use Apple's in-app payment system, there's still no link to buy. I have so many subscription services, I unfortunately don't want to be attached to anything else. Fantastic podcast, unfortunate abandonment of the user experience.

Dig it!. Marc Maron's podcast is brilliant.

Does what it should!. Not big on the next podcast playing before the first is complete. Usually miss the closing remarks at the end.

Definitely worth the (very reasonable) asking price!. Well done, Marc Maron!

Well worth the upgrade!. This is my "can't miss" podcast. Funny, touching with new insights on your favorite comedians, directors, actors and musicians. Marc brings out the truth in everyone.

Wonderful show: great app. Love Marc and his podcast. More than worth it to upgrade to premium and get access to so many of them. App works great and has plenty of great features without a bunch of other unnecessary things. Thanks Marc!

so damn good. great interviews. funny, touching and entertaining. app works flawlessly too!

Needs work. I love the podcast, hate this app. Sorry Marc but I think I'll just keep getting them through iTunes. Please improve this app - such a great show, such a terrible garbage app.

Master podcaster. Maron has combined a great journalistic curiosity to his humoristic personality. Great guests. Fun show

What the f^ck!?. This app is the best way to listen to the best podcast ever! Marc Maron has the gift of gab and listening is inspiring!

The best interviews. Period.. In depth and personal interviews of celebrities both A-list and lesser known but always a compelling conversation to listen to. Always probing to get his interviewee to open up on uncomfortable and personal topics.

Like listening in to two good friends. Marc is a born interviewer This is my go to app when my podcasts don't appeal or I'm just looking for some company. His style is loose and winningly sincere but professional and respectful of both subject and listener. Some interviews are very personal, some explore the art of comedy all reveal more about the subject than the interviewer. Marc may talk in the intros about himself, entertainingly I may add, but once the interview gets going he is not interested in the sound if his own voice. And those intros are full of context and companionship, as if to say to the listener " hey sorry you couldn't join us in person, here's what you missed". A great price, a fraction of your typically audio book. I recommend Robin Williams and Carrot Top for subtext heavy chats. Enjoy.

Podcast. So good. So, so good. Really good. 👍

Terrific!!!. Great job Marc, the 500th episode was amazing!

Great app and pod cast. The best podcast out there...

Great!. Really enjoy the podcast.

Simply put.... ...it is perfect in every way!

Premium blend podcasting. Get into these amazing interviews! The full archive is DEFINITELY worth upgrading to get.

Big fan. Wish there was a better way to filter and go through episodes. Otherwise great job Marc. Big fan of the show.

WTF. I'm not crazy about the new design from an aesthetic standpoint, but that is not my main issue. I don't think I've made it through an entire episode without it skipping ahead to the next one. This usually happens around the 40 minute mark or 3/4 in to the episode. Please fix this bug! Thanks!

Always great!. Long interviews w interesting conversations. Not same boring type questions. Funny too!

Content great - new app worse. The new app is more difficult to use than the old one with no perceptible enhancements. Also the fact that it forgets that your a Premium member and have to re-authenticate is poor usability. Content, as ever, is entertaining and worth every penny.

Great!. Easy to use, just like Marc.

If you like podcasts. If you like podcasts enough to pay for them then this is a perfect app. There are a lot of great interviews in the catalog.

Unbelievable podcast. And a decent app that allows you to access and organize he entire archive.

Best podcast of 'em all. This is THE podcast.

Keeps crashing. The app won't open at all since last update. Otherwise I usually like the app.

Great podcast, great app. Love the podcast, but I'll focus on the app. Works perfectly and is the easiest way imaginable to listen to the show. Being able to stream or download on wifi to prevent bandwidth. Simple and effective, I love the app.

Awesome. Marc has shown an incredible ability to engage the listener in his interviews which always leave you wanting more. A great app!!

Love it. Sgreat

Perfect app!. Great job to the Maron team for putting together such a great app. Listen to Maron on the go wherever you are!

Perfect. WTF, this app is perfect.

Wtf. Best podcast ever. Makes me laugh, touches my heart and gives some of sober wisdom.

Change default settings!. Love the show, had to have the premium account and I'm grateful for the app, it's really convenient to have access on my phone. BUT the default settings on the app have caused me grief worthy of a Maron rant. I didn't realize "starring" shows would automatically download and after I went on a starring frenzy my phone space filled up and I spent way more data than I had ever intended, costing me $10 on my bill at the end of the month. That really shouldn't be a default!! Secondly, the default automatic "play the next episode setting" causes my phone to automatically start loading an undownloaded episode after I finish listening to a downloaded one. This has also caused me to have to pay $10 extra on my phone bill. Yes, I realized these are fixable and yes I have changed the settings now. But I shouldn't have had to spend an extra $20 on my phone bill to figure it out. Marc, you owe me $20 buddy.

Marc is awesome. Great interviews, possibly the best I've ever heard. Marc is knowledgeable and quick, and he connects in a relaxed and personal way. I highly recommend it.

Great app!. Could be faster, but I have an older iPod touch so it probably runs better on new ones. Great interface and content though, this is a fantastic podcast and great companion app to archive of WTF.

I Mage a HUGE mistake. I USED to be a very satisfied premium (paying) listener. Then I made the mistake of upgrading my app. I longer have access to the premium content I paid for. The app directs me to a third party payment system (what is wrong with the Apple subscription feature, Mark?) that is poorly designed, hard to figure out, and that demands all my personal information. I am very unhappy. Mark's decision to change payment models was a bad one. He lost me as a paying customer.

Love ITTTTTTT!. Great app overall! Very user friendly, good interface, and best of all it's all MARC! Love the podcasts! Please never stop making them :)

Great app. A nice little addon to my favorite podcast of all time.

Amazing, funny, always fascinating. Maron is a fantastic interviewer. It's great to have so many high quality long-form interviews with so many interesting guests. Always unique, always fascinating, always worth listening the whole way through.

The best!. I'm addicted!

Lol. Awesome! Listen at work instead of radio, better then anything I've listened to.

Content is King. Absolutely love the podcast and therefore the content of the app. Wouldn't mind seeing updated graphics and audio that plays nicer with other functionality and apps. For example, after my phone goes into lock mode if I pause the show and come back a few minutes later I have to go all the way back into the app to resume listening. Would be nice if I could hit play/pause again to resume.

BiPolar. I went through the most difficult year several years ago because of my disease and losing control of it. I had begun to listen to you Marc a few months before. When the s$&t storm in my life touched down I found counseling in your podcasts each week. Listening to your personal life and being raised by manic and obsessive parents I got it. It required me to be as introspective without fear because I listened to your learning curve unfold through the years for you. I am a proud father of 5. I am the parent at home and they know who you are because I share with them sometimes stories I heard from an episode and try to take my meaning and what I took away from that episode and relate it to them some how. In short you're an amazing individual despite your self professed crazy life that touch more lives than you could imagine. Thank you Marc Maron!

The History of Comedy.. It's amazing to have so many life stories in the palm of your hand. These are entertaining and addictive, but also really important. My only comment on the app is that it seems strange to swipe to the right to get to the main screen, I was looking for a back button at the top left. Otherwise quite reliable and easy to use.

Love Maron, Love Premium!. Premium is well worth it! I listen to Maron everywhere I go- my commute, hikes, and at home. I only wish I could cast a million votes somewhere to make sure I do my part to keep his show going on IFC and keep anything and everything from Maron coming! The app itself can be a little buggy from time to time and sometimes just stops mid-show and then I have to restart it and try and find where I left off. I think the interface could be a little nicer? But it's fairly straightforward and I love the "favorites" feature.

RAW human connection. Marc Maron regularly opens himself up with a scalpel and tweezers and lets all of us view his insides with a microscope. He is the most damaged/bravest person (that I feel like I kind of know.) I'm amazed that so many guests join him in laying their souls bare. Marc says his goal is to make a real human connection with his guests and he usually succeeds. I have heard nothing else like this out there.

The best. Truly one of the greatest things that has happened in my life. I listen to the interviews almost as often as I listen to music - and that's saying something. Once you get to know Marc Maron, which, if you listen to enough interviews, you quickly will, you'll really enjoy his insight, as well as his interview technique. Actually, technique may not be the right word because its unlike an interview; it's more like listening to two friends talking for an hour. He obviously ask questions but its conversational. It's amazing and I can't say enough good things about it. I pay for premium and its priced very generously for how often I use it.

App is buggy. It was great when I first downloaded it. Then I had trouble accessing episodes I downloaded. Now I can't access ANY episodes. I paid for my one month sub to this app and so far I've been able to listen to two classic episodes and now I have nothing. Not very happy with the quality of this product. EDIT: Has anyone else had problems downloading the Robin Williams episode? Every other episode downloads easy but that one, the one I want to hear most, always times out.

Seriously buggy app. The podcasts themselves are amazing which almost makes it worth the trouble of battling this very, very buggy application. Alas, it messes up the most basic bookkeeping tasks. Sometimes the episode list locks out a premium episode even though I've already purchased a pass. It gets confused as to which episodes have been downloaded and streams them instead. I've been struggling to play episode 60 but it keeps restarting the last episode I listened to; it says its playing episode 60 but it's playing some other episode entirely. Earlier it got confused and told me that no episode was playing even though one was. Downloads keep timing out. It thinks its offline when it isn't. The buffering sound effect never stops. Whoever wrote this app is inept but I give it three stars solely because the podcasts are worth the struggle.

Great podcast. This is a great podcast and I subscribed to it only because I want to support Maron. The App is pretty good, great place to find out who's been on and have streamed the odd episode. I haven't really used the extra features so can't comment. I prefer to download than to stream because I listen in the go and don't want the data charges. That said good app, fantastic podcast.

Worth it. I can't believe his stamina in putting these out, especially along with his touring and IFC show (which is also awesome). My favorite episode so far is Louis CK, but I already loved him. What's more surprising to me is how I was completely absorbed in interviews with, for instance, Tom Arnold. I don't think I'm even a quarter of the way through the nearly 500 episodes. I love the honesty and insight he provides into himself and to all his guests. Get the app and upgrade to get the archive. So many hours of good stuff here...

Great podcast app!. Maron is an amazing interviewer who can weave his own life experiences and shortcomings into the context of the guest's story, bringing out depth that you would not find from any other interviewer or interview format. One of just a handful of podcasts good enough to justify paying for the app to access podcasts from the beginning and to go back and relisten as you discover the comedy of the people he has already interviewed.

Genius. Marc Maron is absolutely brilliant and a true pioneer in the podcast world. He is a little politically liberal but his ideas are not too far out in left field. His humor is awesome but it's not for everyone. With that being said he has fantastic guest which makes his shows appeal to a broader demographic. My favorite part of all is that he is so big in the podcast world but he doesn't have seemingly endless irrelevant promos. For that reason alone the man should be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize because commercials and promos drive me insane!

Insightful and Engaging. Started out loving Dennis Miller for the great banter and good (but short) celebrity interviews, but grew weary of his inclinations for taking the right wing Fox news slant on nearly every issue (except gay marriage) while simultaneously describing himself as a pragmatist. MM's interviews are far more in-depth, deeply personal, and I'm loving the lack of commercial interruptions. Granted DM has 3 hours a day to fill (well, actually 1 hr, 50 mins + advert time), and keeps it clean for the most part, but he's quick to dump articulate callers the screener lets through as soon as he realises they aren't calling to agree with him. If you don't mind freewheeling profanity and enjoy thoughtful, therapeutic interviews with engaging guests, this is the podcast for you.

Podcast is great- a few pointers for Marc. I love this podcast- Marc Maron is truly a great comedian and a deep thinker with a pure heart. The show is truly entertaining and thought provoking. A tip for Marc- please consider being a little more considerate to your guests when they are speaking- you often interrupt them seconds after you ask them a question. I would rather hear their answers and have you cut in at more appropriate times with follow up questions. I often hear you talking over the guest and it is frustrating as a listener as I'm sure it's frustrating to the guests. I am only trying to give helpful criticism- this show is awesome and I have no doubt that it will keep getting better. Thanks for everything!

Love it. One request: ability to play all starred episodes.. This podcast is excellent. App is great. Would love to be able to play all the starred episodes in sequence. What happens now is that I play a starred episode, then the next episode that automatically plays is the next one in numerical sequence. So if I have starred 6, 70, and 371, I could play those three episodes without having to go back to my starred folder. (Right now what happens is that I play 6, and then 7 automatically follows.) This would be just be a nice feature for long drives... Thanks.

I'm down to one podcast. This is the one podcast I listen to. If I go back to another, it'd be Wait Wait Don't Tell Me. It's thoughtful, insightful and you get a goodly amount of autobiographical stories from people I'm interested in the arts who may show up occasionally for less time on Charlie Rose (and no talking heads or policy wonks, not that there's anything wrong with that).

Marc Maron Delivers. This app is easy to use, loads quickly, and has much broader functionality than I would have ever expected from an app. Bells and whistles that initially seemed superfluous are now indispensable. The interviews are top notch, in depth, and the guests are a who's who of the comedy and entertainment worlds. Maron can be neurotic and self-indulgent, but he makes that very clear right off the bat, and never lets that get in the way of a great discussion. On the contrary, Marc's at times obsessive introspection and analysis of past events give him the unique opportunity to cut through the insubstantial entertainment industry BS and generate incisive, meaningful, in-depth discussions with old friends. The listener by turns audience and voyeur as Marc deconstructs past interactions and relationships, giving us all a chance to see a vulnerable and authentic side of himself and his guests. Buy the subscription, and maybe throw a few extra shekels his way, too. You still won't be paying enough for what you get.

Addicted to Show/Pretty Good App. I listen to every episode of this show. If you love comedy and conversation, you should too. As for the app, it has some good features. You can download individual episodes to listen to off line and filter the list so you only see those episodes. The newest episode is always automatically there. I think you can somehow connect to MM's Twitter -- but I've never explored that. Standard stuff, but cool.

Podcast: great. App: not so great. Marc's podcast is great stuff! 5 stars! This app: not so great. I find the interface to be clunky, and if I star 5-10 eps I will often come back to the app later with 5-10 error messages about not being able to download or the URL not existing. I'm sure this happens due to signal or bandwidth but the error handling and resultant messages could be much better handled. I'd like to see a download queue manager with a better interface.

Freakin awesome. Thanks Mark, Mike

Great stuff. I used to listen only to the people I wanted to hear, until Maron became one of those people. If you have the disposition, this show will keep you engaged. I am a bit bummed that the premium only lasts a year. I bought it last year, caught up on back episodes, and now I need to pay 8.99 and hope it's worth it for whatever bonus content will come in the next 12 months. Eh, who am I kidding. It will be worth it.

Great podcast app is a little slow. Amazing podcast. Having all episodes there is awesome for when on a flight, walking the dogs... I love tho the ability to star episodes an listen offline without streaming (good on battery airplanes) and listening to whichever I'm in the mood for! I got it on a whim and don't regret it. Also could use features like the sleep timer as others mention.

Great content, app needs an update!. I don't have most of the aforementioned problems, however the resume playback feature rarely works. You can not exit the app and resume playback of an episode, you have to seek through to find where you left off. Also, if you search for an episode, you lose the ability to search for any more episodes or see the list of recent episodes. You must restart the app. Please fix! I have a year subscription, make it worth it.

Perfectly good app. First off: I think Maron says that getting the app gives you access to the old episodes. This is true - but you have to upgrade. Getting the podcast solely through iTunes, you can't get a premium subscription and get the old episodes. I think that's what he means, so a lot of the negative reviews are misunderstandings on the listeners' parts/bad explaining on Maron's. But the app itself is wonderful. I love having access to the most recent 50 episodes any time in one app, and being able to download them for offline listening is great. This app should be the blueprint from which other podcast apps (Earwolf's comes to mind) should be based. If I have one beef, it's that resuming play is somewhat inconsistent. Usually, it's fine. Sometimes, though, I'll exit the app in the middle of the show (still playing) and then re-enter the app, and it'll ask if I want to "Resume playing" (even though the show is still playing). Hitting "Resume" in this situation starts the episode ever again. A minor pain, but frequent enough to deduct 1 star.

Marc Maron Is An Underappreciated Comic Genius!. I just stumbled on this app because the podcast is part of the hook for "Maron", Marc's new tv series on IFC which I also just stumbled on. A few years back I was lucky enough to have never missed an episode (the single blessing of a long Boston commute) of Marc's old "Morning Sedition" radio show, a show which, hands down, had some of the best comedy bits I've ever heard. Really - between the brilliant comedy & Marc's rapid-fire intellect, it was truly a sad day when it ended. (Ah, Butch, we sheeple hardly knew ye... ) But now with just a few episodes of this podcast under my belt (and the new cable show - Hi, Boomer!), I'm saying the same thing I said while listening to the radio show - this guy's a @&$?! genius; how is he not a household name and on his gazillionth HBO special? Seriously, Marc - Great job on both new gigs; really smart, funny stuff; I missed you, man, but it's been well worth the wait!

Most used app on my phone. Obviously the show caters to the likes of me, but I have to say I enjoy this podcast more than any other. Not just for comedy nerds, Maron is a natural interviewer and his guests are almost always amazing. The other plus (depending on your point of view) is listening to the man's life over the last 2+ years. Look it up and read about it to see if it appeals to your sensibilities. If it does, I strongly recommend spending the extra dollars to gain access to the whole back catalogue. I started 6 months ago listening from episode one and I hope to catch up in the next few weeks. I couldn't be happier with it. Also haven't had any technical issues with the app itself.

Been listening since the start. If the title puts you off... Get over it. I have heard more interesting stories on this podcast than I can even remember. Many guests have inspired me to try new music, hunt down a show or movie.. Just fantastic. Got me through a long waiting room period during a tragic turn...always grateful for Marc Maron in my ear.

Nice app, great podcast. I don't really understand the negative reviews from people complaining that you have to pay for the older episodes with this app. The info on the app page seems pretty clear that with the app, you get the latest episodes for free. There are literally dozens of free episodes available, and then if you want the entire back catalog, you can choose from three different subscription options. Seems like a pretty good deal to me. The app itself is slick, well-designed, and very easy to navigate. I appreciate how easy it is to download episodes for later offline listening. (Just tap the star next to an episode and then select Download.) Definitely would recommend.

I'm sorry, Marc.. I love Marc Maron's podcast. There are few people as genuine, open, energetic, engaging and completely nuts as Marc. If this were a review of the podcast, it would be five stars, no question. This app, however, has some bugs to work out. I have received several errors in playback so far and I've only used it for one episode so far. Also, it will not play audio in the background, so if you need to do something else with your iPhone or accidentally press the home key, they audio shuts down and then the app must reopen and the audio musr re-buffer. I am hanging onto it because I am sure after the update, it will be much better. For now I'll just be getting the podcast the "old fashioned way" through iTunes. Keep up the great work though, Marc.

No problems - signed up for MyLibSyn Premium Membership first. I just recently got into the podcast and really wanted to listen to older episodes. A friend suggested the app. I first went to the MyLibSyn site and signed up for a premium membership. Then I downloaded and installed the app on my phone. In the app, I plugged in my login info for the MyLibSyn membership and POW! I got easy access to all the old episodes. I "star" the ones I really wanna listen to so they're downloaded and cached on my phone. Now podcasts for days, people! LOCK THE GATES!

Great show, great app. I've been listening to Marc for 3 years and I still enjoy the show just as much now as I did when I first discovered it (which felt like something of a revelation). The app is great for many reasons, but especially because as soon as I begin playing a show, the rest loads so that I can continue listening even underground on the subway. This is why I sometimes lol while looking at the shoes of those around me.

Love the podcast, app skips ahead. Five stars for the podcast, but this review is about the app. The features are great, I like the 30 seconds forward/back buttons and the other controls, but I have a problem with the app skipping from partway through the current podcast to the start of the next one. It seems to be random, sometimes it skips after half or less of a podcast, and other times it skips the last ten minutes. It's good otherwise but that is a pretty major issue for an app for the playability to be so unreliable.

Awesome App. I have to admit I just found Marc recently and am now a big fan! His show is brilliant and I use this app everyday on my commute to work. The navigation is clean, simple and easy to scroll through the episodes. I enjoy his style of humor and interview skills and love all the interviews I have heard so far with my familiar favorite comedians and artist and also enjoy the guest that I don't know. I upgraded to the annual membership soon after which is a steal. Too many episode to listen to and not enough time - good problem to have!

love it. love this app. bought the premium subscription (absolutely worth it!) and I can access all episodes thru app but my favorite part is that I can "star" certain episodes which downloads them into a separate folder and I can listen to them anywhere anytime (no wifi needed). I have been listening to this podcast nonstop since buying the app and subscription! PS: you don't need the subscription to listen to the itunes available episodes using the app, but the subscription gives access to ALL episodes ever recorded and there is real gold mine in the past episodes.

possible rip-off; thanks technology.. I love Marc's podcast- so I got the app- no brainer! I wanted to see how worth it the premium content is- so I bought the 30 day upgrade to decide If I want to fully jump on board. DID NOTHING! Well, wait, it did make the banners disappear, which I didn't even notice till they came back 2 days later, when I messed something up trying to figure out why my installed upgrade DIDN'T UNLOCK ANYTHING!!! (btw what is "SUPER premium content"? only for baked-goods senders? because I'll do it, don't think I won't!) After several complaints (don't you hate it when you hit send & nothing happens, so you hit it a bunch more times in frustration, then after a minute it blinks like 25 times to say they all went through? #squeakywheel ) a support person has so far asked for a copy of my receipt- so I know they exist. Marc keep up the truly inspiring and funny good work; someday we will be able to hear all of it!

Never a bad podcast. As a huge fan of the comedy world, I find myself listening to 3 or 4 of these podcasts in a row. Very rarely do you get to hear what a celebrity actually sounds like when they're just having a casual conversation. Marc Maron's show opens that door for us, and in the process we get to see how these people grew up, got started, and the various pitfalls and high moments that happened along the way. This show proves that these people who we all know by name (Will Ferrell, Ben Stiller, Anna Kendrick, Bill Hader, Mike Myers, Louis CK, just to name a few among hundreds) are much more human and actually far more interesting than they're portrayed on TMZ. Highly recommend for anyone.

Too Buggy. I love the podcast so I bought a month subscription to listen to all the older episodes. I can get the episodes back to Louis CK Part 1, but when it tries to load anything prior to that the app crashes. Apparently it doesn't remember when you star and download an episode from time to time. Also downloading random older podcasts crashes the app. It also has problems remembering where you left off on an episode so if you get a phone call or accidentally shut down the app; you have to find where you were before. I love the content, but the delivery of the content has a few too many issues. Once that is fixed I would have no problem buying a yearlong subscription.

Unresponsive to touch taps. The latest update fixed a couple of old app-breaking bugs --thanks! -- and introduced a couple of new ones. Most egregious -- the touch regions on the scrubbing slider and the playback speed button are BADLY ill-defined. Because in this version swiping from left to right or right to left flips through episode "cards", attempts to drag the scrubbing slider forward or back through the episode will half the time result in flipping away from the episode you wanted to listen to. WAY more frustratingly, the playback speed button responds to tap touches intermittently at best, and will very often wind up stuck on 2x or .5x. Worse, when I try to mash my thumb onto the tiny button during one handed use (such as: while driving) the touch region will overlap with the pause button, requiring a tap of the play button and 15 second rebuffer before I can try (and fail) again. Easily fixed by enlarging and spacing the buttons farther apart, but I'm not holding my breath. (Developers: for what it's worth, I experience this issue far more often while streaming through 3g and using audio out). Show is still great, obviously.

Worth it on so many levels. You have to subscribe to get the older content. I am not saying that to state a fact, I am urging you to DO IT! The beginning of the podcast series is far less polished than the last 100 or so episodes and regardless of your politics (I'm a right-leaning independent) you cannot help but connect with Maron on a personal level. He has issues and he tells you about them all the time. As you pick your way through the archive, you hear him hone this craft much like he hones his comedy. That was the first hook that got me - the insider's look at Comedy (the Industry). I was fascinated. And slowly you are pulled deeper by other factors: great guests, Marc's personal life, his pre-occupation with SNL, his budding autobiographical TV series, his love life, etc. You can fast-forward through the personal stuff but I rarely do these days. Each episode is like a gift. Sometimes they are like a gift from a great-aunt that doesn't quite hit the mark but most of the time they are highly entertaining. If I were just starting, I would invest some time in the episode recaps. Each time I listen to one I find a couple of things to go back and check out that I missed at the time. Enjoy!!!

Wow, people. Really?. Okay, so people are giving the app ONE star because their unreasonable expectations do not match the actual experience of the app. I agree, I'm a little surprised that the episodes I thought would be available aren't. However, that doesn't warrant one star for the app. It's a pretty slick, professional application. Everything runs smoothly and the streaming episodes sound good. The only problem with streaming seems to be that it is difficult to fast forward (I don't know who needs to fly through an episode, but whatever). Anyway, the slightly misleading advertisement of the app and the fast forwarding problem knock off one star here. Nice app. Great show.

Incredible interviews with hundreds of actors, comics, & musicians.... Latest upgrade of app that was released Dec 2014 is incredible. Extremely user friendly with gorgeous user interface. Very practical too. Now has sleep timer, forward/backward 30 second buttons, very useful auto mode that can be locked and has daylight/night toggle button. Keeps track of percent of each episode you have listened to. Maron's interview style brings out so much rich content from those he interviews. Highly recommended.

Please add a 30 sec rewind button on iOS lock screen!. Love love love listening to this app, and as a premium subscriber, I'm looking forward to what seems like years of engaging comedy ahead of me. Could not be happier with the content. But I have to give a 3-star review in the hopes that the developers will notice and add a feature I've grown accustomed to in the This American Life app and the regular iOS podcast platform: when you lock your phone, and want to rewind a bit of playback, there should be a quickly accessible 15- or 30-second rewind button on the lock screen. Now, you have to *unlock* your phone, find your way back to the app, and rewind there. Kind of a pain, especially since the default iOS capabilities are second nature to me. Seems like a super easy fix that would make listening to this app even better. Hoping for an update soon! Thanks for the entertainment in the meantime.

Love it!. Love it!

Slightly Buggy App- 5* Podcast. I subscribe to SiriusXm to hear The Howard Stern Show because of how many quality hours of content are created each week that I can listen to while I work. On a good week Howard is delivering 12 quality hours of listening pleasure. I'm either driving or working 50 hours a week. The Marc Maron Podcast has well over 600 hours of quality content to fill in the other 30 hours of my work week. I paid the $10 for access to the whole catalogue, this was the best $10 that I have spent that I can remember. The app itself is occasionally buggy, but Marc's interviews & hours of quality content easily make up for the occasional hiccup in the system. If you are a fan of comedy, this app is a must have. You won't be disappointed. -Bradyn

Does what it needs to. Seems a little slower to load shows than the official Podcasts app is. Would be a nice feature if there was a picture of the guest for each show; sometimes you think you know the name, but without seeing them, you're not sure. Needs some more bells and whistles to differentiate it enough from the Podcasts app to make it worth the disk space.

My favorite podcast. I do a lot of driving for my commute and this is the only podcast where I'll listen to all of them. Many of my favorite guests have been people I didn't know or from those I'm not really a fan. My wife described this podcast as being for middle aged white on the cusp of self-awareness of which I am now one...in a good way. I actually wish some of the interviews went longer. Some feel like an hour is a good length and that the conversation has run down but at least a third of them feel cut off a but early.

A familiar face. I have always been a proponent of the Marc Maron style of humor, before even discovering Marc Maron himself. I truly enjoy his lax way of going about the whole thing, and find myself chuckling to no end at universally relatable anecdotes from past experiences of his, and comedians/performers alike. Thank-you, kind sir, for this incredible gift you have so generously put yourself out there to give us. Thank you.

Great, but a feature request.... One of my favorite and most used apps. Really like the sorting, download, and playback options. My one complaint: lack of a "mark as played" feature. With hundreds of episodes spanning several years and several devices, it hasn't well-tracked my "played" episodes automatically, so I'd like the option to mark as played myself. BTW: this is only apps review I've ever posted, this one means that much to me. "Alright? Let's do this..."

Good content, bad app design. (for the iPhone version) The downloading of the episodes is done well. Unfortunately the app usually loses the place I'm in within an episode. This requires a lot of scanning through the episode to find the correct spot. This was already difficult before, but with the latest update, the time navigation area was made so small that I am constantly hitting the wrong button. For a podcast, I would consider the navigation controls to be the most important things on the screen - please give them more space and fix the loss of episode location issue.

Hysterically Relevant - Real - Fun. Found this podcast because I searched a few comedians who showed up as his guests, the Robin Williams/ Todd Glass/ Tom Arnold episodes were done brilliantly, you can see Marc's style adapt as he gets more comfortable. Over 500 episodes and I'm so glad this underrated talent has found a place to shine. He also has on guests I have not heard of or I thought would not be worth listening to and proved me wrong. I hope he announces a show in NYC, I want to meet Marc and thank him. Great Job Marc sometimes it takes a while for someone to get recognized. Start with the Robin Williams episode and you will be hooked!!!!!
