Great So Far. Normally when I download utilities I have to try a few before I find one that actually works as described. I've enjoyed this little utility quite a bit and haven't felt the need to continue searching for a "better" one. I've only used it for scanning codes that take me to websites so I don't have to type them in, and so far it hits every time the first time. I'll try grocery items next and update my review if necessary.

Fun, reliable scans, needs better product database. Fun to use. QR codes for websites are neat. This even interprets QR codes displayed by TV programs ! It does have some shortcoming interpreting UPC codes, prices are commonly missing, and some descriptions are not in English. Update June 2 013: I have some more experience using this program, it seems the database of recognizable items is getting bigger. My wife just lamented she could not find a given product in the stores locally; I scanned it barcode of the empty bottle and this program suggested a couple of online sources!

Excellent. I like this app it brings up the price very fast. One problem is you have to be in front of product if you want to purchase it from the web. Over all it's a very good tool to have when you can't find a rep to help you.

WOW!!. I can't believe the speed of this reader!! Not always the most accurate, but accurate 17 out of 20 (that's 85%) I just wish I could submit the actual facts of what I scan to a central database for improved accuracy. I have no complaints with the app's actual performance, all other free apps of this kind are $#!+!!! This is the only one I need!

Update seems solid and fast. I was able to update without seeing the crash others are reporting, and was able to skip the Facebook. It kept most of my history (for grocery items, etc.) but lost my contact scan history. Not a big deal, since I had saved those contacts to my contact app already. This new version is different, but I like it. It seems solid, and fast. I found a way to change the scanner screen too, which was cool.

Great App. Great way to find product information. Learn about products of all types, all sorts, consumer, professional, and learn how they are received in the market. Learn about reviews and their popularity. A simple app, to empower you to become informed about buying choices.

Crap App. Worked a few times than it suddenly crashes every time you try to launch it. Appears obsolete and totally generic. Time to move to a more stable version for iOS 11

Amazing. This is by far the best scanner app that I've seen! I tried out a gazillion others before getting this , all of which were lacking one thing or the another.... But this was definitely a standout from the rest!!!

Doesn't work with 3g. From experience and from what feedback I can find online, it would seem that this app or any other dealing with scanning is not really compatible with iPhone 3G. I've tried redlaser, fooducate, and now this and have never gotten one single successful scan. Perhaps someone should make this info available and stop wasting folks valuable time. Uninstalling. Might try again when I upgrade to 4g

Great. I think this app works great. I get the feeling there is a lot of user error of this app. If you don't set it on the right type of barcode that you are scanning you can try till the cows come home and it will not work. I scanned all kinds of things that I could find in my house in many different lighting situations with no problems at all. Works Great

iPhone 3Gs works AWESOME!. I am still learning the "ins & outs" / "ups & downs" with this phone...WOW! is just about all I can say! The more I figure out about it and the more I learn, the more it impresses me! I wasn't sure if this APP would work or not but, then I read a couple of the "other" reviews Users had written and thought, "...why not, lets give it a shot!" So, I loaded it using iTunes and "VOILA!" This "APP" works perfect with my particular iPhone! -( iPhone 3Gs )... I think everyone should have this handy APP...if nothing else, at the very least you can do some serious "comparative" shopping! It's "AWESOME!" Thanks...<>< ...be "Blessed!"

Almost there - but missing vital features. This app supports vcard (contact info) format for QR Codes, but not the common standard for Asia (China Mobile's Card format), and it certainly can't create either. AT&T wants you to go through their portal so they can lock you into their own codes. This is really bad and not useful - their create-a-code site is terrible too: it's not in-app (an external website) so it is pretty slow and useless in practice. That said - it reads text and web url QR's *really* fast, with a nice UI too. It should have been perfect. However QuickMark beats it hands down right now - just because of this app's poor create-a-code features and the lack of China mobile contact info support which QuickMark has. I can't recommend this app but, if AT&T update it to support the more common contact format and add better create features - then I certainly would use this as my primary app.

Works fine for me. Just downloaded this a few minutes ago and tested it on a few pages I found, seems to function just fine for me. And are the guys on Verizon for real? This is an AT&T app not Verizon app, shouldn't be so surprised that it doesn't work for you.

OK but.... Did an update kill this? I tried it when it first came out and thought it was pretty good - one of the better scanners out there. Now I have a difficult time scanning even with simple codes. Having hard time on iPhone 4 and 3Gs. There are much better free scanners out there. Tapreader, Scanit etc. and I don't like the idea of AT&T keeping track of anything I scan. Nice UI etc. buy without reliable scanning, what's the point.

Does Not Identify Anything?. This used to be my go to Barcode Scanner App for years, but as if today I am deleting it off my iPhone 7 Plus as it will not successfully identify any type of barcode anymore. I switched to 2 others that work perfectly and never going back to this one. Obviously the App developer no longer cares if this App even functions properly anymore based on previous reviews! Bye!

Batting .825. Update to initial review below - when I turned off the confirmations in Options/Scan Settings, I started to get results. As far as I can tell, there is no direct route to the scan results from the confirmation screen - each time I chose Yes, there was no page found, and choosing No simply returns to the scan - wrote yourselves an endless loop, folks! And what is the purpose of the confirmation screens, anyway? Seems to be an unnecessary complication. Oh yes, and Boru vodka still scans as Pink Stars Skin for DSi. ------------------------------- So far this app is batting .325. It scanned several items at home and in the store accurately. However, I hit a big fail when it scanned a 1.5 litre bottle of Boru vodka as a pink skin for a Nintendo DSi. Tried again and again, with no improvement. Have not had a successful scan since, including Stop & Shop creamer, Black Box Malbec, Admiral Nelson's Spiced Rum, and Roland Sriracha sauce. Help isn't helpful. I'd love for this to work, but right now I'm underwhelmed.

This is the best! :]. At first I was a bit skeptical because I tried many other free ones and they don't work. But this by far beats all the free scanners out there. It scans any qr label even off a computer screen. You just point and it will scan it. Don't listen to the haters! :]

The best I've found.. While I haven't done a full review of the market in a while, this has been the best scanner out there every time I've looked. Very reliable, and scans things others won't touch. Highly recommended.

Impressed. This is the only scanner app in the store that can read Data Matrix codes. (They're the ones on the icon — a bit different looking than QR). Sure, there are other scanner apps that are more shopping oriented; but at least you know this will scan anything you happen to need decoding.

Needs a default browser option. I like the app, but it needs to have an option in the settings to specify the default browser. The built in browser is terrible, and I REALLY need to be able to open up the scanned URL in Safari. Can that option be added?

So far, so good!!. I just scanned my first two ads and it worked really well! Very easy to use! Be sure to get enough light! I am still looking for a real value application of the scanner, not just ads....

Very useful and often informative. I like being able to get product info on the spot anywhere. Not having to make a note to check out a website when I get home is fabulous. Not all the links are informative but that is not a factor if the app.

It's all good. I download the app At AT&T store All I do is hold over image And it works like it's supposed to no problem Pretty simple pretty easy No complaints Although how much can you really expect it's just a Scanner In life if you don't over expect you won't be overly disappointed .

Still crashes. I got this as an update to the older AT&T version and it crashed, would not work. This app is obsolete in iOS 11 as your camera will recognize QR codes in the same way.

ATTScanner (v3.0). Works pretty good for a free scanner. Use to read data matrix labels on equipment for work that are coded w serial number and part number- much easier than writing them all down. Would like to be able to save as note text without opening as a web page (in app).

It totally R O C K S. More and more companies are putting alot more info than you can get from just reading the printing on advertisements. Some companies even have them on their web sites so you can scan the codes and it will go right to your phone book with just a click. I am 59 and the only way I can describe this is it R O C K S.

Battery hog. Used more than 50% of my battery in less than 6 hours in background processes. Uninstalled.

AT&T bar scanner app. Seems to be more up to date than some of the competitor's comparable apps...seems to work most of the time and is fairly accurate. I do wish it included more store-specific products as well as offered more info on stores that carried some of the products, as will list online only for products that I know are currently being carried in stores. As I understand, though, this is still a fairly new app and hope it will be updated with time. Altogether a great app!

Best QR scanner I've used to date. I love that it opens in scan mode and locks on codes in it's bounding box very quickly; a surprising number of QR scanners don't do those things. Scans have been fast and accurate. Loads resulting web content quickly. I haven't had a chance to scan hcard info yet but will post again if/when I do.

It's so cool I love how it scans and brings up the website or the item but sometimes they dont have what you scan SOMETIMES I would get this game if you need to get a better price or fun scanning or to not look at the tag or sign,and use your iPad,iPhone, and touch to get this game it is the best scanner ever

Excellent. As soon as I downloaded it I tried it out and it worked beautifully. Giving me a whole new level of enjoyment when I read my favorite magazines.

Works. This kind of tech is available on every phone in japan and we are several years behind. One year from now, you'll see these every where.

It's good. I've used this at Home Depot for product info worked every time;-) used on some magazines for info and worked, there are a lot of scanner apps out there and if this was not good then I'd download another if this one didn't take, I can't expect one co to have all the barcodes in the world, that would almost creep me out!

Worthless. Opens QR linked website but keyboard won’t allow letters in Account Number field. Once everything entered via copy/paste nuisance the app won’t allow clicking on the buttons to proceed.

ATT Scan Application Easy. The ATT quick scan app is quick and easy to use. Often you see scan codes in advertisements and you don't have a pencil or aren't near a computer. You can save them for later if you don't have Internet connections.

Dumb with a capital D. There is no need for this app. You're going to read a magazine and then scan a barcode in an ad??? How about just putting a URL in the ad?? Oh, because the marketing wizards at ATT are trying to market products to people for whom they think have difficulty typing in urls. The fallacy here is that those same consumers are supposed to be tech savvy enough to have a smart phone configured to scan the marketing barcodes. Same fundamental blunder behind the cuecat ( check wikipedia for that infamous story ). Att, my iPhone is not a cuecat, and I am quite capable when typing in urls.

Very Good. Lightening Fast.. Wow. Large praise to this app. Free is good or I would of never found it. I am using ipod touch 4th generation. It is so fast that me and others that see me use it are amazed at the speed of lightening. This is a must have. It's gold and the treasure is waiting to be found with this app. Great joy n happiness.

Didn't Crash. AT&T Scan4.2, iPhone5, iOS7.0.3 Just downloaded today May 24, 2014. Opened OK, scanned a couple codes I had lying around the house, brought up product info or web site correctly. Don't use this app a lot, so don't know how good it is. Haven't tried any of the other scan apps. Giving it a 4 because it opened right away, got products and didn't crash. Don't know long term stability.

Awesome - This one REALLY works!!!. This scanner picks-up (scans) quickly and easy!! I've tried others and you have to be inhumanly steady or still before the app can scan (and then sometimes it STILL won't work). Not this one. It scans faster than I can focus. Really, this is the best scanner I've ever used. I highly recommend it!

Useless. From the rating above, subtract ten stars. I would have happily left it at zero, but your insistence pisses me off. Does not identify even common codes such as Crest toothpaste. Now I remember why I deleted the app years ago.

Doesn’t work. Does not find anything. It’s been years since this app worked. It used to be decent, but now it’s a waste of space.

Scanner App..Black Screen. To Joe, Go to settings, scanner app, and turn on your camera. I was getting a black screen too until I found out my camera was turned off. In settings you can also make other adjustments, like turning off notifications among other things.

New update with too many social networking features. I know that the required feature list for any app nowadays is social networking capabilities, but the new version doesn't let you turn off the sharing of your scanned codes with the new Discover feature. While the feature doesn't include your name, only your location, it is a bit disturbing that your codes are shared for all the world to see. Please let me opt out of sharing. Don't just assume that I want to share everything. And also let me turn off the Discover button. I really don't care what other people are scanning. And it seems inevitable that some spammer will start spamming product codes. Until they have an option to disable automatic sharing, I've gone back to the previous version. Besides my concerns about the social networking features, the scanner worked fine.

USE TO BE GOOD APP-NOT NOW!. I am a personal user of the ScanLife Mobile App. The app did work well for the last 2 years, HOWEVER, it does not recognize any UPC's now!! I loved being able to compare prices and now all I get is "Sorry we couldn't find this product anywhere". REALLY?? Also when I scan a Code-it just tells me about the product which is good info-but would be nice if it would show comparison shopping options and prices! If this is the way it works now-I'm removing the App.

Pretty neat. Now see this would be even better if some how we can go threw the store and scan the items we want and Put it in the buggy and get to Counter put and load the registry on a little thing and pay for it insteanof having to go threw a long line put all your stuff On the table and Have to wait for slow poke to ring it up and bag it when you can scan it, bag it and pay for it threw a little program like this! But of course their would be a few problems but hey that's what I was thinking! Now this app is pretty nifty becaus if I was going to buy something i scan it and it told me where the deals are :) SWEET

Fast and easy. The best scanner I have tried. Doesn't try to use an internal browser (I've had problems with that in other scanners), loads and scans fast and all on all does its job!

It works.. It does what's advertised, but that really isn't much. Still, this deserves 4/5 for the simple fact that it scans those square bar codes pretty well.

There are better ones out there. Did not work for me. Do a search on 'scan' and you will find good apps that work

Fast and easy.. Tried a couple of other apps then finally landed on this one. The others, you had to fool with the camera tryin to get it to taketbe code. This one is just point and click. Get it.

Worst app. No retina display support - for AT&T is... strange... No UTF-8 in barcodes support at all. Request optional registration at start - stupid.

Best QR app. After trying several QR apps, I found this one to be the best. It read small, hard to read codes better than others.

Works As Advertised. Works great. Doesn't always find online prices for every item, but it's always been able to read the bar and QR codes.

Scanning works Wonders. It is so convenient to be able to find places to buy what I'm looking at for less than the price I've paid before! Great APP!

not bad!. I am surprise by this app from ATT. It has a higher success rate than the QR Reader for iPhone. Also, No ads (at least so far) in this app unlike other free QR reader program.

Could use improvement but great for what it is suppose to do.. I have the iPhone 5 and I don't have any problems with this app. My only gripe is that I was hoping I could scan a upc and get the actual price of the item before I went to the checkout.

Amazing. I love this! I scanned my Hawaiian punch bottle and it took me to a page and I clicked on nutritional facts then it has an option to pick something like it that's healthier. This app is amazing I don't know how it doesn't have 5 stars

AT&T scanner. This scanner is as good as those that you can purchase and I even noticed that some of those options were ahead of store bought scanners.

Not much product info available. Doesn't seem to have many product descriptions, at least for groceries. It keeps asking for me to submit the data, which is sort-of backwards from what I had expected. Reads the codes well.

So far, so good. I had originally downloaded another reader that wouldnt read anything! With this one, all I did was point the phone in the direction of the tag and it worked immediately!!!

Works Great!. Love this app, it seems to be truly evolving and going places. I hope to one day be able to get information from all barcodes. Hopefully they make it happen. All the money-saving deals are awesome.

This scanner ROCKS. Screaming fast scans of all types of codes - books included. I have an iPhone 4 running and I have had no problems.

Irregular performance. App works sometimes, and sometimes doesn't! Tried to scan a Bottle of Wine that I enjoied yesterday and the App kept crashing instead of reading the Barcode. Today it shut down again but after multiple attempts did scan the Barcode on the "Test Item" in this case a pack of Batteries. I still don't have the data on the Wine I was tasting.

Great app!. The ATT Scanner has worked every time I've tried to use it on product UPCs except maybe twice in 100 tries. 95% of the time it gives me other sources and prices for the product. It's a good app, I recommend it.

Works well - needs sharing ability. Got this for my 3GS as QR Scanner would not read any codes. This worked great - off of a projector, computer and print. Would love functionality to share.

Great!. This app works very well! It always works and it takes less than a second to bring me to the results. Definitely a good buy.

The way of the future.. It's magic. It really is. This is far and away the best QR reader. A must download - easy to tell that this will become the future next big thing.

???. Haven't really used it since I've downloaded it but looking at other scanner apps it seems with those apps you can creat codes right from the phone. Unless I'm missing something this app brings you to a web site in order to create one.

AT&T Scanner. It provide a quick reference to information and knowledge of a product. I like it's features plan and simple.

Competent app. So far it has worked flawlessly! I have not tried other "scanner" apps so i have nothing to compare to. This one works, so why clutter up my app collection?

Easy to get data you need. I like that I can get the data to web site and then see contact data. I just wish it would work on the eye pad. Much bigger screen!

Scanner comments. I like the scanner. It's neat to scan and get info sent to my phone quickly. I hope the bar codes expand to more things.

Works well. Scans and goes to web page. I wish the back arrow on the web page would bring me back to the scanner though so I could do consecutive scans without having to reopen the scanner each time.

A suggestion.. I've been pleased with the app overall until last night. When I realized it would be handy to have an option to turn on the LED for after-dark scanning.

New update/deleted features :(. Lost the ability to use the onboard light so I can scan items in badly lit locations. Also, not everyone wants a scanner for price checks, I use it to do equipment inventory checks and the old version of the app made it very easy, this one automatically tries to find a matching sku number.

Saves a bunch on $$$!!. Wow, snap the tag and find it for less $$!! I saved over $50 in one snap and found the same hunting gear in another store. Excellent app!!

It works.. This one is the most reliable scanner of the ones I have tried. It makes so much sense that it works with bar codes as well.

BEST SCANNER APP HANDS DOWN!. This scanner beats all the ones I have tried. I have used over a dozen and this one resolves faster than any one out there, plus it picks up 2d barcodes that are very far away that other scanner apps don't!

Flawless!. Quick, easy, choose whether to save past scans, scan photos of codes in your camera roll. No hassle, all in working order. Brilliant!

The app-inator. This app is not as good as the title makes it out to be. Because it was AT&T I thought it would be excellent, but it doesn't recognize half of the codes I scan and is slow on top of that. However, when it does work it offers all the information I need

Loved old version hate new version. The old version was fabulous but the new is not so much. It now loads websites into it's own browser and it either crashes or doesn't find the site. I also hate how you now have to into history to open a website. Will have to look for another. DON'T UPDATE TO NEW VERSION if you haven't already!

Nice app. The app is simple and utilitarian. I was able to use it to determine if the asking price of an item was fair. The process takes about 10 seconds

Best of the best. The new version is better than ever! AT&T thank you for adding the toggle switch popup. No wonder it was hard to scan 1D codes. The best part is it works on my iPad 2, iPod touch. THIS APP ROCKS!
